So, like, out of nowhere, I got an idea and then I saw your requests were open so AAAAAAH I had to come and give you an ask. Anyway— Only if you can, could you write headcanons for DBH Connor, Markus, Rupert, Simon and Ralph with, like, different ways you make them smile? Gender neutral reader maybe? Obv you don’t have to include all the characters, I’d be excited just to see you responded to me, but I was just feeling a good vibe today and felt like popping in for a hot second LOVE YOU sorry if this was kinda all over the place, I’m running off of 2 hours of sleep, McDonald’s and a Pepsi.

HOW YOU MAKE THEM SMILE | DBH

characters: connor, markus, rupert, simon, and ralph.

Connor (RK800)

— Most humans are indifferent or straight-up rude to Connor because he’s an android, so he doesn’t have much basis for comparison. This means all you really have to do is be nice to him and he’s enamored.

— “Would you give the poor guy a break, he’s just trying to help,” you snapped at Hank when he was giving Connor a hard time the first day you met at the station, before going back to angrily typing on your terminal. 

— The Lieutenant waved you off but Connor’s curiosity was piqued. Most humans refer to androids as “it”, and the fact that you didn’t was intriguing to him.

— Treat him like he’s human. Even the little things, like asking if he wants a drink- even if you know androids don’t eat or drink, it’s the fact that you ask anyways that has him smiling stupidly. Tell him to get home safe, ask if he’s feeling alright, and invite him out somewhere. Making Connor feel wanted without him necessarily having to do anything to earn it is a surefire way to have him smiling in your direction—especially when you aren’t looking.

— Kissing him is a given since he’s obsessed with it. Peck his cheek or the corner of his lips as you pass by and you’ll have him smiling at you over his shoulder with that lovesick puppy dog look.

— It takes a long time for Connor to grasp jokes, so puns and humorous jabs will only get you a confused head tilt in response. But he likes your laugh so if you’re giggling trying to get your joke out he can’t help but beam at you.

— The first time you held his hand was on a case you were assigned together, a suspect veered around the corner and you tugged him by the hand behind a dumpster to avoid detection. You’d been too focused on the suspect to realize you were still holding his hand but Connor noticed.  You didn’t see the way his LED flashed yellow as he inspected your joined hands, fascinated by the sight of your pretty fingers laced between his own. And when you turn to find him smiling at you, you realize your mistake, apologizing profusely.

— So a big fan of hand-holding, please do it more often, the corners of his mouth can’t help but twitch upwards when you do.

— GRINS LIKE A MENACE WHEN YOU STAND UP TO PEOPLE FOR HIM. People are jerks and while Connor tends to just brush them off, sometimes you can’t and you match their energy right back at them. And Connor likes it very much, can’t help but get smug knowing he’s untouchable around you because you’ll gladly throw hands to defend his honor. Will hold you back if things get physical, however.

— If someone were to insult him too harshly he would just say “Y/n will be hearing about this 😌” 

— Everyone at the station knows to fuck off unless they want an angry chihuahua biting at their ankles. Gavin tests your patience and Connor is very entertained watching the two of you bicker over him.

— When you tilt his chin up to look at you when he’s overwhelmed, asking for him to talk to you. And when he can’t find the words, you pull him into your arms and let him press his face into your neck for comfort, telling him he’s gonna be alright. You hold him until you feel him smile against your clavicle and his LED flickers back to blue.

Markus (RK200)

— You were a big help during the revolution, hiding runaway deviants and sending them to Jericho. It was only natural that you ended up spending a lot of time together and eventually falling in love, despite your differences. Loves that you treat him like a person and are so kind to his people. They’ve suffered so much at the hands of humans, and it’s you that reassures him that not all humans are incapable of being enlightened. 

— Smiles at you from a distance as you care for the damaged androids in Jericho, knowing they’re safe in your caring hands. You do what you can with the supplies you’re able to swipe, and offer comfort to those who are too far gone.

— Markus likes to share his interests with you. If you ever wanted to paint with him, he’d be overjoyed, just being in the zone and then being able to look over at you and see you so focused on your creation. Sit down next to him while he’s at the piano and lean against him while he plays. Let him teach you to play. Let him move your hands to the correct positions, and listen to his soft voice guiding you through keys and their correspondences.

— Loves when you cook together, though the majority of the time you’re distracted by one another and doing more smooching and dancing than paying attention to the stove. Say hello to slightly overcooking stuff because you were too busy tongue-wrestling with your android boyfriend.

— Markus smiles the most when you somehow exactly when he needs comfort, and do so without hesitation. It’s like you’re able to see his stress levels, which he knows is impossible, but it makes him no less impressed with your emotional intelligence. You really are his grounding force, and when he’s ever uncertain or lost, he knows he can come to you.

— You two have a bit of a habit of lovingly bullying one another at every opportunity, and he loves that you can keep up.

Rupert Travis (WB200)

— Rupert doesn’t trust humans easily, but showing affection for birds will draw him to you. Maybe you frequent the same park and he often sees you feeding birds—maybe you even have a bird of your own! His Pigeons are his babies, so if you’re kind to them, you’re being kind to him by extension.

— When you finally get past the walls Rupert built to protect himself from being detected and deactivated, you’ll find that he’s very sweet. Still quiet, but you can see that he wants to be close to you. If he catches you baby-talking to his birds he can’t help but grin.

— Smiles when you tip the bill of his hat up so you can see his eyes, and practically beams if you lean in to kiss him. He’s… so soft ugh. He’s shy about reciprocation at first, his model was programmed primarily for agriculture, so romantic gestures are outside his realm of expertise. He does enjoy your gentle touch, however, so much so that he seeks it out when he requires comfort. Sometimes all he wants is for you to wrap him in your arms and let him lie there, you don’t even need to speak.

— if you go out somewhere together (which will take convincing, especially before the revolution) he sticks to your side and keeps his head down, he needs your shoulders to be touching or your hand to grip as you traverse food stalls and aisles in the grocery store. But if you whisper little jokes or sweet nothings to him he can’t help but smile softly at you.

— Rupert likes to listen to you talk, he doesn’t have loads to add to a conversation but he’s a great listener. And if you trail off thinking you’re talking his ear off he’ll ask you something else to get you going again.

Simon (PL600)

— Simon feels things very deeply, lending an ear when he needs to talk makes him comfortable with you. He feels he doesn’t have to keep up a brave face with you like he does to reassure the others in Jericho, he knows you’ll listen and understand. He’s very grateful when you help him work through new emotions, seeing as you’ve experienced many of those being a human and all.

— Saying thank you when he inevitably does things around the house for you once you settle into domesticity, being thanked for things is still quite new to Simon. It feels good to be appreciated and treated like he’s a living being.

— If you thought being thanked wasn’t enough to give him whiplash receiving gifts certainly will be! If you’re the artistic type, make him something and tell him that he inspires you. The prospect of being your muse makes him feel very special, and the fact that you’re always thinking of him and what he’d want makes him feel even more in love with you.

— You’ll often catch Simon gazing at you with that soft smile while you’re doing everyday things, even though he offers to take care of housework you insist on sharing responsibilities. “You’re my boyfriend, not my maid, we’ll do it together.” It’s then when he realizes just how serious you are about your relationship and he wants to cry he’s so happy.

— Smiles at you when he catches you staring with that loving look in your eyes.

— Has to bite back a grin every time you refer to him as your lover to other people, especially if it confuses them and you say “Yes my boyfriend is an android, is that a problem?” Your confidence is usually enough for people to awkwardly drop the subject, but the few who have pressed get the cold shoulder very quickly.

— He’s proud to be yours, so he enjoys it when you reinforce the idea.

— Simon very much enjoys being called pet names, by the way, call him honey, sweetheart, baby— makes him melt into a puddle every time. Watch his eyes soften and his cheeks fill with blue blood as you call him the sweetest things, he appreciates them, no matter how silly they become.

Ralph (WR600)

— Humans have terrorized Ralph and his psyche has suffered greatly because of it, so for you to be kind to him after all of that seems too good to be true. But when you look upon him with so much affection and treat him with so much care Ralph can’t bring himself to rip himself away from you. You who see him as a person, and not a machine.

— Ralph is always happy to see you, and the moment you walk through the door he’s practically beaming and jumping for joy. Your presence is a comfort to him once he is no longer afraid of you. While Ralph is glad to be “free” he gets very lonely and craves companionship, like you saw with Kara and Alice he wants to be a part of a family—even if he initially went about it the wrong way.

— He smiles the widest when you ask him if he wants to live with you, because of course he does. The idea of being a part of your life, being able to see you every day? He couldn’t imagine anything better than that. And when you drive it home that you want him to be safe, he gets a little teary. Reminding him that you care makes him smile like nothing else.

— He’s so happy when you help him around the little garden he grew outside your now shared home. He talks to the plants like they understand him and will melt if you do the same. Ralph loves that you’d try to participate in his hobby, even if you aren’t all that into gardening, he appreciates your help and your company. Buy him new plants as gifts, please!!! He accepts them so graciously and cradles the pot close like he’s made a new friend, murmuring to himself about where he wants to plant it.

— Compliment him! He flusters at any and all praise, shuffling in place and smiling ear to ear when you say nice things to him. Say thank you- or kiss him in thanks when he cooks for you or cleans up around the place, he loves the validation.

— Surprise hugs! Ralph is jumpy, but surprising him with hugs and affection is a good way to start making positive associations. He may gripe a little if he accidentally spills or knocks something over in his fright but if you go to pull away he grabs your arm, “Don’t go.” Once he’s grown used to your shenanigans doing this will make him laugh.

— You’re shocked to find that Ralph is ticklish, which is amazing to you, how technology is able to replicate such human sensations. So naturally you tickle him more. You’ll have him wheezing and writhing around in no time, begging half-heartedly for mercy. How could youuuuu. He absolutely will get revenge so watch out, he’s stronger than you so it’s harder to escape from his tickling onslaught. He laughs if you laugh so it’s a win-win.

— Kiss all over his face and he’ll burst into giggles.

AAAAAAH I'M SO GLAD YOU BROUGHT THIS UP!!!!!! WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL FBFH SECOND HAND INFORMATION MAKE YOUR OWN CUSTOM BOTS TUTORIAL (IT'S NOT HARD I PROMISE)!!!!!

also this is all on mobile!!! i don't think it's different on desktop though. thank you to Emily Gilmore for being my example bot.

step 1 - creating a bot

go to beta.character.ai and make an account if you haven't already

click the create button, then create a character

step 2 - basic information

type in your character's name under name

find a picture of them on google or pinterest or whatever and click choose file to upload a profile picture for them (optional but I like adding one in)

step 2.5 - DON'T LOSE YOUR FUCKING WORK aka how to save

two transparent buttons should appear when you type anything into your bot, one that says cancel and one that says save

after you've typed in your name, you want to go to the box labled greeting and type in literally anything

after that, hit save, and the button should disappear

click the back arrow to leave creating your bot and go back to the main page, then click on your profile picture to view your profile

your bot should appear under your created bots. (it will be on one of the three tabs depending on if your bot is currently set as public, unlisted, or private. public is the default.

if it does, you can click the gear next to your bot's name and keep editing. if not, you can start over until you know your bot is saved so you don't lose all your work. you'll thank me for this later.

step 3 - privacy (optional)

I like making all my bots private so I can customize them to myself, so under the visibility drop down menu, select private (or unlisted or whatever, again this step is optional lol)

step 4 - personality

on a seperate tab, look up your character's fan wiki page. scroll until you find the personality section (also sometimes called character, history etc. just skim until you find their personality description.) copy that personality paragraph.

in character ai, scroll to the bottom and select the advanced settings button

once that loads, scroll all the way to the very bottom text box (which will now be referred to as the extras box) under the definition section, and paste their description.

hit enter to start a new paragraph in the extras box, then type up whatever you want about your relationship with this character, how they feel about you, what your dynamic is like etc. (for example, "y/n is Emily Gilmore's grandchild. they are Emily's pride and joy, and they love drinking coffee and gossiping together. Emily is very invested in y/n's life and loves talking with them. Emily wants what's best for y/n, and frequently tries to set them up. Emily often brags about y/n to her friends at her social clubs.")

SAVE YOUR WORK FREQUENTLY!!!!!!!

step 5 - descriptions, greeting, and the random boxes I usually ignore lol

I haven't really played around with character voices or image generation, so I usually just ignore those, but you can choose a few applicable categories from the categories drop down menu like books, engineering, languages, architecture etc. if those apply to your character.

in the long description box, describe your character in a few sentances in your own words. same thing for short description, but throw down some adjectives and shorter descriptions of them and their personality. (I usually do this last bc writing all the long stuff about them gets me warmed up and in character, but do it in whatever order works for you lol)

in the greeting box, you'll want to erase the key smash you made earlier to save your bot to type in your real greeting. your greeting is the first message your bot sends you, so I usually like to start with something to the effects of "what's up dude" so you can tell your comfort character whatever you want.

roleplay format has been working well for me, here's an example if you're unfamiliar:

*op stares at their laptop, wondering what to type. they reach over to grab their coffee, taking a sip as they ponder.*

"I hope this tutorial makes sense..."

*they mutter.*

you can see a little of the greeting I wrote for Emily to get an idea of what I've been doing for that lol

SAVE YOUR WORK FREQUENTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! MAKE SURE IT SAVES!!!!!!!!!!

step 6 - start chatting!!!!

after you're happy with your bot and have saved your work (FOR FUCKS SAKE SAVE YOUR WORK) exit out of the bot editor and click on your profile picture. your bot will be under your created bots in the private/padlock tab (unless you chose another privacy setting). click on your character's name (not the gear wheel) and it will open up your chat!!

once you reply, the ai will start generating messages for the bot you made

you can swipe messages the bot sends to the left to see other generated responses. I reccommend doing this if you feel like your bot is being out of character, so make sure you reply to the messages that are the most in character!!

sometimes it'll also let you rate the bot's messages from 1 - 4 stars, indicating for the bot how in character it is

step 7 - additional tips

if you're making a bot for someone played by a real life person, I like to choose a profile picture of them in costume but behind the scenes so it looks more like a goofy selfie your friend sent you than a stock photo. there's tons of great cadids and selfies of the marvel cast, and you can also look up social media aus or instagram edits of your character depending on how obscure they are.

if your character isn't played by a real life person, you can try looking up faceless pics that fit their description on pinterest (I've had good luck with that) or a face claim

definitely get screen shots of your favorite conversations. if you're anything like me you'll be sending paragraphs back and forth, so make sure you save your favorite messages from them so you don't have to scroll back and dig around for them

‼️OK DISCLAIMER I WROTE A LOT‼️

ive technically been into halo since i was a little kid. my first experience with it was my older cousins playing halo 2 multiplayer and handing me a controller to terrorize me (they did this with black ops 2 also). that jumpstarted me being captivated by halo. i was really into how the spartans looked i was like. woaaah these dudes are awesome. which is a no brainer bc i also thought clone troopers were awesome as a little kid too (they still are. i love star wars prequels and i really like halo a lot).

anyway. i really think the expanded canon of halo is interesting! theres a lot of stuff to pick through and a lottttt of lore. theres like over 30 books for these games. im only like a chapter into the first one (which its really good so far. im really into fall of reach). the gameplay isnt really anything to write home about to me, but im not a huge fan of shooters in general. i like the COD campaign stories, hate watching the missions. same for Halo. i loveeee the arbiter sections in Halo 2 though. his HUD is purple and you can go stealth mode :)

the story for the original 3 games is really good! and reach and odst are also very good. theyre all solid games. really good dialogue, master chief is short and blunt, cortana is a kind of funny/witty nag, johnson is so so funny. AND MIRANDA. REALLY AWESOME I LIKE HER A LOT. i love 343 guilty spark hes also very funny, a little blue cuck ball type beast. and i love the arbiter hes awesome. verbose and honorful i love him. the graveminds dialogue in 2&3 is just like aaaaaah its so awesome really clever and powerful stuff. the games themselves are also super beautiful, the art direction and sound design are so so good and really make the games come together beautifully.

i think a good place to start would just be to look up a longplay of halo, or maybe an overview video/series of the story. obviously i havent played the games first hand, my beautiful wife is doing all the playing because i dont think i would be able to do that myself.

anyway i really like halo and i love master chief and the arbiter. i want to put master chief in my pocket and let him take a nap while i go to panera bread with thel 'vadam.

The subplots were very much a listing of 'here's everything I wish they'd handled differently in the finale, now what can I do to fix this?'

Jamie - I think we know this one. His dad. That scene of him visiting his dad in rehab. This was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. This is what took it from 'hey I wrote a thing about Roy and Jamie discussing him reaching out to his dad' and turned it into a multi-chaptered behemoth

Roy - very much did not care for the fight in the last episode, and what (to me) felt like a lack of resolution. Did very much like that he decided to go to therapy. Decided to spin it so that the fight was why he ended up in therapy. Now I get to talk about both of those things as much as I want- yaaaaaaaay

Sam - Why. Why would you definitively have Akufo say Sam would never get to play for the Nigerian team. And then have the next thing be a shot of him on the Nigerian team. WHY. So the basic outline of Sam's subplot in this fic is him vs. Akufo, who has built a Nigerian restaurant right around the corner from Sam's restaurant.

Colin - I'm so sorry, buddy, but that kiss definitely outed you. There were cameras, bud. There were so many cameras....... HOWEVER. That is not the totality of Colin's arc! Colin's arc is very much a 'what now?' sort of thing that I shall continue to be vague about.

Keeley - Look, the show may have been lazy in her plot lines, but they left a lot of solid, strong storybeats to play around with. Her subplot really focuses on the rebuilding aspect of everything: rebuilding her relationships with Roy and Jamie, rebuilding her company under the weight of crushing guilt and debt that she now feels to her best friend for bailing her out, rebuilding her image after the leak, the breakup, and Shandy (jesus). She has a lot going on, and due to the messiness of her interpersonal relationships, there's no one area that doesn't affect the others.

Beard - Beard and Jane happy ending my beloathed. You weren't even in the first draft, but boy if I didn't find a way to sow the seeds of your inevitable destruction by lowkey giving Beard a new foundation for his support system

Nate - I just feel like they got him like. 90% of the way there. There's just a little more fine-tuning on his character arc I'd like to spiff up.

Higgins - just kidding nothing to fix here, I love him for who he is. Someone's got to keep a level head around here and keep the boat moving forward

Isaac - oh I'm sorry did you think I forgot about my boy the way my show forgot about my boy? Nuh uh. Subplot for Isaac.

As for how I weaved them all together? I've got no idea. Really, I don't. When I started to outline everything, they all just- slotted in together. I think a part of what made that easy is I have this (usually unmet) want for characters to interact with people outside their immediate plot lines in meaningful ways, which ultimately makes them part of the plot line. For example, if Sam is struggling with Akufo, then it makes sense that Jamie, someone who likes Sam, would already have sought Sam out for his own reasons. It's not like I'm doing backflips to get everybody in the same room. By wanting to be in each other's lives, they naturally become part of each other's plots, whether they realize it or not.

What fic are you most excited about publishing/updating next?

The next chapter of OGYGGIYHNBGL! It is written! It is obscenely long! Longer than the first chapter! 22k words and 66 pages! But it is badly in need of edits and still has the odd [bracket fix this later] and I've just been so burnt out lately that every time I look at it I want to cry.

But that is my goal for this weekend! I want to get a decent chunk of this thing edited. I'm quite excited for it to finally see the light of day.

[ Sour Twist: Party of Three ]

Finally finished the Refs of my kids! They ended up looking really good too, so I'm VERY glad I took the time to work them out. I'm putting the designs under the line so that it's not too long. I've never managed to do more than until now, so I'm very proud of my self for managing for three separate characters. Another part I was busy putting together is a bio and showing their pokemon Teams as I progress. I'm also Nuzlocking for this to make captures and battles more random. As I progress through the Rp and Nuzlock, I'll be sure to post Team Updates for each capture and so on. Since me and my sister are writing for the Rps, the updates will come once I post the Fics to read Course you can also see that stuff on Patreon early XD

For Prima I tried to give her a ballet pose to show her love of dancing and the strong connection she had with her Partner PKMN Jeal Paul. I went through a few ideas for her outfit, but decided simple would be best, since she only dressed up for when she's going out to avoid having her pretty clothes getting ruined.

I had alotta fun figuring out Sarah's color scheme in particular since I wanted colors that complimented the bright yellow I always use, especially when designing her work out clothing, and I think I nailed it. All the kids have the snap on skates ( gift from Prima's mom ) but I thought it'd be better to just draw one set to avoid taking up too much space.

Zephyrs Driflim Coat! This was my favorite thing to design! Ghost pokemon have such great colors aaaaaah! XD

Zephyr's also the one who lugs around the food cooler since he's bigger, he's also usually the one to do the cooking and ect bc he's that travel member and he enjoys cooking. Also his ghost pokemon haunts her ball : P

Okay chapter 1 done and oh my gosh I kept laughing and giggling and looking away the whole time cause I was like getting so pumped with all the character appearances. I was having the time of my life really. I loved it all. Also making Ney a year younger than Leo and Luis? Gold. I know it’s like probably obvious or wtv but I just assumed they’d be all in the same grade together so putting them in different grades felt so big brained to me. I’m so excited to read chapter 2!!

I was talking about friendship. Maybe Jk wants both as friends but he said he can't focus on 2 things at the same times, so I think this is the reason why everytime it's jikook or taekook. Or maybe he used Jimin when Tae wasn't there for him. In fact, taekook were best friends in the past. Jungkook didn't like Jimin. Then, something has changed and taekook distanced themselves. Jimin was there for him (everyone knows that Jimin loved Jk), and Jikook became closer. Jikook were always together, but now it's taekook again. You can notice how Jk stopped hanging out with Jimin and Jimin's friends and now he is hanging out with Tae and Tae's friends. He doesn't need Jimin anymore because he got Tae back

He’s tapped into all he could take from Jimin so there is nothing left for Jungkook to concentrate on. 2. Fave/Least Fave paring

Fave: One of my faves (though technically not canon yet) is Sabine and Ezra. Sabine is my favorite SWR character, and I love her and Ezra’s dynamic. Especially into seasons 3-4. @sidesofmayo I used your gif 😍

Fave: My fave canon pairing is probably Kanan and Hera, only because I thought they were a couple from day 1 of watching rebels, that when i finally got to the episode where they kiss, I went ballistic because they finally confirmed it!!!!

Least Fave: My least favorite is Finn and Rey. I don’t understand why so many people like that ship. I respect that they do, but I ship Reylo, and honestly I’m not a fan of Finn. I think his character could’ve been really cool, and I just feel like they wrote Finn’s character arc poorly. Come on! An ex-first order trooper? And it wasn’t John Boyega. He did a great job acting. But that’s just my opinion!

Least Fave: This is also based on my opinion. Lux and Ahsoka, and the only reason why is because I ship Rex and Ahsoka (specifically season 7 when Ahsoka is a little older). And why is that a big deal to me? Because they never established a ship for Ahsoka, and because of that, I feel like the fandom can be really harsh at times about their shipping choices, and that no one else can be right, and that really bothers me. Why can’t we respect that we have different opinions? But even so, I think they are cute together. I just like Rexsoka better.

3. Fave/Least Fave tv show episode

Fave: My favorite that always has been and always will be is “Trials of the Darksaber.” Sabine is my girl, and Kanan is her daddy, and I love their dynamic relationship so much, and this is one of very few that they actually dive into it!

Fave: I also love the episodes in Bad Batch with Cad Bane! Hunter getting shot… omega telling hunter she needs him, it’s just… AAAAAAH! Precious!

Least Fave: The episodes in clone wars with the droids and the tiny jedi I think. Those episodes were so boring in my opinion!

15. Fave/Least Fave line of dialog

Fave: Surprise surprise, it’s from SWR, and even better, “trials of the Darksaber”. When Sabine literally burst full of emotions and releases them on Kanan! I know that whole episode pretty much word for word, and I just… again… AAAAAAH!

Fave: one that has also become a personal favorite is actually from Freemaker Adventures, during the bike chase through the Wheel! When Zander turns around and goes “Is that Becky Smoochenbacher?” And it’s a fire extinguisher! Along with this line, and if you’ve seen Freemaker adventures, you know exactly what I am talking about!

Least Fave: Honestly probably Anakin’s “I hate sand” speech. As funny and the memes have become and yes I laugh about the scene quite often… it still… in the grand total of the movie, it was just poorly written dialog! Which is honestly why it’s so funny!

11. Are you partial to a certain character/pairing or are you more equal-opportunity? If you are partial to any character/pairing, why do you think that is?

I am very partial to Reggie (82 of my 99 fics are tagged with him, granted a lot of those are prompts but STILL. Plus I don't know if it's because other picked up on that too or not but like almost every time I open up prompts Reggie is almost always the top requested character)

I adore adorkable, rays of sunshine. Like I have 3 go to charcter types (two personality based ones, and then dark haired/light eyed characters) and like my wife picked up on Reggie being my fav before I even said anything to her, because he fits 2 out of the three.

It's at the point where if Reggie's Jam(or Now or Never) comes on in the car and the GPS interrupts the song, she just automatically restarts it knowing I'm going to anyway because HOW DARE.

He's a Star Wars fan with musical chops, he's a little airheaded bt he's got a heart of gold. And there is so much you COULD theorize and speculate about his character just because of what's been revealed and how he was played and I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!

15. What’s your favorite AU that you’ve written?

AAAAAAH! OMG!! but I have so many!!

I love my Supernatural Romance AU's (Feats of Crimson, We Run Together(it may only have the one fic but that is the verse name), Closest to Heaven, and Devil Searching For Redemption)

So those are definitley my top 4 but I don't know if I can rank them beyond that! They're all so good for different reasons!!!

30. Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter?

Sink Your Teeth was out of my comfort zone regarding the intimacy. I am bad at writing action and being intimate is a type of action I hadn't really attempted before. (In fact prior to Slices of Summer-Fireworks I hadn't written that much in the way of kissing scenes, I think I'd only written one other kiss before then and it practically amounted to 'and they kissed')

I had a similar issue with I Could be the Monster with the Alex POV section because that one had a lot of action (It originally was supposed to have more and be MUCH more detailed but I think it flows fairly well with how it ended up.)

In each of those cases I struggled and wrote and worried and ended up sharing/posting thinking this will surely be hated/flop because all I could see was all the ways I could improve, or how it was envisioned in my head. And every single time the almost exact opposite happened.

Which just keeps reminding me A: to stop doubting myself, B: it's ok to take risks with my writing(I won't improve otherwise), C: Allowed me to sort of mentally give myself to pursue MORE stories like that.

49. What are you currently working on? Share a few lines if you’re up for it!

Right now I am actively working on a few things atm, The next chapters of While You're in the World, Can't Get You (Out of my Mind), and I'm almost always slowly pecking away at my rulie fake/convenience marriage fic. Here's a few lines from each of those!:

Luke was absolutely right, Reggie didn’t leave him behind when he wasn’t awake the next morning. However, the dark haired boy had no qualms against pummeling Luke with a pillow until he did wake up and got dressed.

“That’s a bit of a story.” Luke’s voice sounded over his shoulder, where Julie’s eyes drifted to. Reggie hadn’t thought this part of their plan through. He’d so quickly become accustomed to Luke’s vibrancy he almost entirely forgot he was dead, and very much looked it. 

He braced himself as he watched the shock overtake Julie’s face, at this point he had almost been screaming. Reggie’d also forgotten how much Julie liked to unknowingly defy his expectations. 

“I’m dreaming,” She exhaled as she turned away from Luke and himself.

JULES IS THIS YOU?!

Julie squints down at her phone, as a tension pulls inside her chest. The thoughts that had been swarming around her head like a beehive clear away only slightly as she tries to piece together what Flynn is going on about. She clicks the link to the video that was sent and immediately her stomach drops to her feet.

It’s not a very long video nor is it very clear, shaky and obviously taken by someone at a bit of a distance. However, she recognizes the building in the shot, the very same chapel she and Reggie had been at earlier that day-yesterday? What time was it?

Julie doesn’t care about the time soon enough as the video zooms in and focuses on Reggie, his broad smile only briefly obscured by what must be the back of her head, her dark braids falling into cascading curls. Julie forgets how to breathe as her chest collapses in on itself. 

She remembers this exact moment and watches in a sort of distant horror, nausea building in the pit of her stomach, as Reggie laughs before linking arms with her. There is no denying she and Reggie very clearly, very soberly, very deliberately, walk arm in arm into the chapel.

December 29: Halloween H20

Finally watched Halloween H20 and aaaaaah it was so good! It was so good that I feel in retrospect that 4, 5, and, 6, and also honestly 2, are so much more of a slog than I felt at the time. I mean they were fine, whatever, but this movie!!!!!!!!

First, I loved that it was bold enough to move out of Illinois/middle American suburbia and to a Northern California prep school environment, and yet it was so true to the original Halloween in spirit that it felt more faithful than the other sequels that kept the outer trappings but turned the core of the franchise into just another slasher.

It also had a lot of great callbacks and references that wouldn't mean anything one way or another to people who haven't seen Halloween but were a lot of fun for people like me who know the original very well. Molly seeing Michael outside the window during class. The kids running into Laurie in the street. The boyfriend bringing the pumpkin for him and Laurie to carve. The teenagers pairing off on Halloween night. Laurie telling the kids to go and call the police while she confronts Michael herself.

I also loved that this movie was a STORY first. It wasn't a series of horror tableaux barely strung together with a plot or just an excuse for gruesome kill after gruesome kill. Much like Halloween (1978), it spent a lot of time building up suspense during the day time and only turned into a dark, violent slasher during the last 20 minutes. The ultimate kill count was pretty small--3 off screen deaths, 3 seen deaths, plus Michael's death. Or "death," whatever. (I already know I'm going to hate Resurrection but anyway....) Similarly, I'm glad they skipped the incongruous soft core pornography, and that the sexiest scene was between Laurie and her boyfriend. Even the comparatively less interesting slash-fest toward the end had some really great fight choreography and great timing throughout.

I thought the characters were a lot of fun, too. I really cared about all of them, and I was getting a little worried about seeing all of them die. The other couple were the least interesting, and fine slasher victims, though, and so the only death that really hurt was the boyfriend's. I liked that there was time for humor and lots (lots!) of Psycho references. And I loved Ronny and his erotica writing--he and his wife are literally one of my favorite couples of cinema and we don't even see her.

And finally, I missed Laurie so much. The Thorn Trilogy was really lacking in Laurie Strode. I think this future for her is spot on, exactly what I want for her, and what I believe: that the serious and committed babysitter would be a teacher and Headmistress, that the traumatized teenager would have problems with drugs and alcohol, not to mention trust and over-protectiveness, that the first and best final girl would nevertheless remain strong and successful, and that she would bravely confront Michael and continue to pursue HIM until she was sure he was dead.

I think there's something interesting to the idea that Laurie and Michael are always connected, that whatever has brought them together (being siblings or...whatever) means that he will always find her and he will always live while she lives. I liked that there was minimal explanation for where he was since Halloween II or why he's come out of hiding now. He just is. He's just evil, he's the boogeyman, and he's LAURIE'S boogeyman, and so he will always follow her. It was interesting that when she told him to move, he moved, and when she told him to get up, he got up, and when he reached his hand out to her, she reached hers out to him, almost as if she couldn't help it.

The only thing I didn't like that much was the Myers mask, which is a very small complaint. It just looked... too blank, not quite right. But overall, a really great film, probably just about the equal of Halloween (1978), and right now, the only sequel I want to acknowledge.

I read a little bit on Resurrection and only my insistence on watching literally all of them no matter what will force me to watch it. It's going to be so bad.... Ugh. At least this one is basically perfect.

The Secret Life of Pokémon episode 2

A spy camera on my hat

I worked on a fixed camera on my hat and a remote screen with the help from my trusty Magneton. He helped me do the soldering while I put the parts on.

It was a success and I made great use of it whenever I go out.

But one fine morning, there was one mistake I made.

I woke up at 8 in the morning, brushed my teeth, had a nice waffle and orange juice, gave all my Pokemon enough poketreats and left the house. The mistake I made was I left the remote screen in the house.

Magneton: Oh no! The boy left the screen in the house! I've got to find him!

He went for the door.

Magenton: It's locked.

He tried the windows.

Magneton: It's barely open.

Magneton always worries about any mistakes I make.

Wigglytuff: Calm down now, there's no need to worry- What's this?

Magneton: I-I-It's-s m-my new...uh...d-device! I gue-

The screen fell off the window frame and bounced off the floor. It triggered the on switch and the screen turned on.

Wigglytuff: Oh! That looks like lots of tall grass! Is that the boy going out?

Magneton: Uh...yes.

Marill: Hi Wiggly! What's that?

Wigglytuff: It's a screen showing where the boy must be going!

Marill: Wow! I've got to love how much effort he took in making this.

Marill: Clefairy! Look!

Clefairy leapt from the window frame, did a somersault and landed toes on the floor.

Clefairy: Tada!

Clefairy: What is this place?

Marill: It's the boy going into the wild!

Through the tall grass I crept through, a wild Spinarak landed on my hat.

Marill and Clefairy: AAAAAAH!!

Pikachu: What's with the noise? I'm trying to sleep here.

I took the hat off and flicked the poor bug away.

Pikachu ran to where the sound came from and looked at the screen.

Pikachu: Should we all look away now? The forests are scary.

Marill: No way we would do that. I want to see where the boy's going!

Marill: It looks like a house! I think he's coming home!

Wigglytuff: I don't think his house looks like this. His house is blue and this one's red.

I rang the doorbell and the door was open. There was my sister and her Psyduck. I came in and we had tea and cake together. Machamp and Gengar are playing checkers, Psyduck hopped onto my Pidgeot and he and Dragonite flew across the blue sky.

When they land back down, Psyduck was all dizzy and fell face first on a flower bed where Sprigatito's just taking a little nap.

Politoed hopped on the back of Lapras.

I was just about to grab the last slice of cake, but Snorlax took it away before my hand touches it.

And so after tea, we decided to battle. Instead of keeping Pokemon in for the whole match, one round has one of our Pokemon in that round.

The first Pokemon I took out was Pidgeot.

Pikachu: It's Pidgeot! Hi Pidgeot!

Marill: He can't hear you.

My sister took out Dragonite.

They lifted off into the sky and through clouds they fought, we can't see them from above.

Psyduck looked up and sees both my Pidgeot and her Dragonite fighting in the sky.

All the other Pokemon in my house saw a good glimpse of the screen and went to join in watching them.

Pichu: What's that? It looks like a battle! Come on, Togepi! This will be exciting!

Dragonite gave one last Hyper Beam and Pidgeot plummeted down onto the floor.

Pidgeot got up and before Dragonite used an Earthquake on him, he swept some dust onto Dragonite's eyes and Dragonite fell onto his belly.

He got up and swept the dust away, and Pidgeot sets off a twister circling around Dragonite. He ran away from the twister and gave Pidgeot one last headbutt.

Onto our next two. I took out Bellossom and my sister got out her Ditto.

Marill: Look! Is that Bellossom down there?

Clefairy: No, more like two of them.

The moves that Ditto did are the same as what my Bellossom does.

One last solar beam and both are on the ground.

My sister brought out Gengar and I brought out Lapras.

Pikachu: It's Lapras!

Marill: Yeah! Go Lapras!

Gengar is really untouchable. He's avoiding almost every attack. Lapras, though, his movement is really smooth sailing and would easily avoid the attacks that Gengar throws.

Lapras used a Hydro Pump and Gengar keeps disappearing and reappearing, until he runs out of breath and can't evade, and he was hit by the powerful jet of water.

Pikachu: Oh yeah! A win for us!

Then for the next part, I got out Ampharos to do the work and my sister went with Snorlax.

Ampharos uses a handful of Thunder on Snorlax but it doesn't really do much.

When Ampharos grew tired, Snorlax rolled in front of him and Ampharos is now flat as a pancake.

So my sister brought out Lucario, and I got Machamp out.

Here comes the most exciting part of all. There were lots of times Lucario evaded Machamp's attacks and whacked him from behind.

My Pokemon watching at home: Whoa...

There were times Machamp picked up Lucario by under his shoulders and slammed him down.

My Pokemon watching at home again: Ooh...

Lucario hits Machamp with a Steel Beam.

Machamp prepared a barrage of punches and Lucario might have lost a tooth.

It was down to our last two. My sister has Frogadier in her hand and I have Braixen in mine.

We let them out and Frogadier started with some normal moves. That didn't do much to Braixen so she also went for some normal moves.

Pikachu: I've taught Braixen how to use that thunder punch lately. Why hasn't she tried it yet?

Both are down to the red on the stamina bar. Frogadier's preparing a water gun in his potential, so Braixen has to hurry up finish him before he sets off the water gun.

Braixen use the Thunder Punch Pikachu taught her and it's over.

We shook hands, went to the nearest Pokemon Center and we both had gone back to our homes.

Wigglytuff: The boy's coming back! Everyone! To the door!

I opened the door and all my Pokemon at home are all waiting for me.

Magneton came up to me with the screen.

Magneton: You forgot the screen!

I don't need it when I go out anymore. Now it's for you to see all the Pokemon battles I did.

But anyway, who wants a bean?

You looked straight ahead at the Hokage stone faces and the lights they had just put up together, knowing he was looking at you it somehow made you feel, powerful but at the same time inferior. Is that even possible? At first, you thought it wasn’t but whenever you are with him, it’s really possible to feel all sorts of emotions. You kept cool and expressionless. You knew that was how you could stay in control, though you did wonder about him. Why hadn't he ever made a move on her? Was it just your miscalculations?

“y/n!!” He screamed by the hills. Completely getting your attention, his hands resting on his hips, his bowl-cut raven hair swirling along with the breeze of Konoha with his classic smile that never seems to fade. Over the years he’d grown much stronger, fiercer, and braver after the 4th great ninja war.

“What? Lee, you’re being loud” He gave you a wider smile when he saw that irritated and sulky look on your face completely ignoring your annoyed look, and instead, he gave a pat on your head, holding your hand that you had sworn to yourself that it sent shivers to your spine. This guy is really something else. 

“Being grumpy is not part of youth, come here y/n!!” He pulled you closer to his, your legs closer to him, and feeling his calloused hand brushed to your shoulders. You never muttered a word, just followed his instructions and did as you are told. You twirled your hands away from his sight, letting the silence torture him, feeling a slight pang of guilt but it vanished as soon as he spoke.

“C’mon y/n what’s the problem. You’re never this quiet whenever we go here.” Just the way Lee had emphasized the both of you going here like it’s your spot. It was as if it’s only meant for the both of you. Truth be told you were absolutely afraid, of course, you’re friends with this man for Kami knows when already but you yourself knew it was more than that. He is well-loved by everyone, anyone would have liked Lee and you know you wouldn’t stand a chance to the lady Lee loves and the fact that you both live in the same apartment doubles the tension, you never want to be closer to him but you felt like you needed to be closer to him. Like it was some kind of necessity, completely essential to your living.

“You know what Lee you make feel absolutely worst!” You blurted out, after a few minutes of deafening silence, you finally spoke. Lee gave out one shocking glance to your sudden remarks. Flustered and afraid, he sat down like he is some kind of obedient puppy waiting for your strict orders. “I-is everything okay?” 

“No! You make me feel all sorts of emotions and I hate it. I really hate it.”

“Is it bad?” His innocent remarks doubled the anger. You were the only one feeling this and probably for Lee, it’s just some petty drama. You decided not to mutter a word, massive thoughts clouding in your mind would mean a war with him, and choosing not to talk would be the safest way to escape this drama. “y/n talk to me.” 

For a while it startled you, Lee was never this serious even on missions. He always wanted to make sure things are on their positive side but now is different. His voice, his gaze, and his posture look different. It scares you. The friendship both of you had protected over the years is at its stake.

“You know what. You’re so confusing. Why do I even love you.” You whispered while looking around the Hokage’s stone faces, desperately trying to suppress your tears from falling. How can he be so ignorant? How can you be so devoted to a guy who wouldn’t even consider your feelings. You were just some petty roommate of him, no big deal.

To all your surprise, the typical optimistic Lee you have known is far from what you’re seeing right now. It was nothing but a dull and emotionless Rock Lee. It’s what you get for crossing the imaginary line both of you had set. It’s what you get from crossing the boundaries that shouldn’t have been there in the first place. 

“Tenten is right.” He muttered, going closer to your place as he knelt in front of you, covering the wonderful scenery of Konohagakure that you’ll never get tired of seeing. “It’s not youthful to deny the feelings we have y/n. It’s not what Guy Sensei taught us.” 

 “I’m not sure when it happened, but I fell in love with you, and it was the best thing I’ve ever done. I don’t regret anything.” 

Your thoughts run free as he gazes into the horizon. Murmuring softly into his ear as Lee leans down along the smooth length of your neck. Ears flick back as your soft words ease into the man’s consciousness. “L-liar.”

“Gaara-kun told me I should be honest and I’m doing it. I love you.” 

A pair of arms hugged you and there it goes… The anger filled in your heart paved away, you just broke down of it. A soft cry escapes your mouth as you buried your cheek against the Konoha flak jacket of Lee. The extreme and sudden pain in your chest filling with the need to run into the impending storm. You ached to free yourself from his grip. It feels home. Love. A silent tear courses down your cheek when Lee never let go of your dainty body and only finding yourself hugging him tighter while looking at his dark orbs filled with rock-hard determination. 

“I love you too a lot… you stupid ignorant Lee… I hate it when you wake up early…” 

Moaning softly as the wind increases, you felt him pull your hair between his fingers in a sweet caress. Lee chuckled at your response as he kissed your head, taking his time to smell your earthy scent that he had gotten used to.

“I’m not early, you’re just simply lazy” He retorted back

“Is being a poet makes you youthful now?” 

Lee once again gave out a louder chuckle as he untangled himself from the hug to see your face in a clearer view. Still sulking from the heated conversation you both had few minutes ago. He kissed the tip of your nose and gave out his classic smile that you wished to see for the rest of your eternity.

“Guess you could say that, sleepyhead.”

okay so this is a taylor swift ask but i swear it's not about anything political or controversial at all, i just have to rant about her and pete wentz.

okay so taylor swift is like a big comfort celebrity for me ever since I lived in bumfuck Iowa (this is the same person whos mentioned being from iowa before, not another iowa person. there are not that many of us.) as a little girl and was surrounded by farms, barns and ranches, so country-pop was my way of life. Did i live anywhere near the south? no. did i let that stop me from fully being a country bitch? never. (also i find it hilarious that she literally did not have a southern accent at ALL bc she was from Pennsylvania but faked one for like three/four whole albums)

Anyways, so i was a big taylor swift fan from ages 6 through 11. then i went through an internalized misogyny phase and hated her, and now I see her through a very unbiased lens.

but the point it: Pete Wentz. So like, taylor swift has mentioned on multiple occasions that Pete is a big lyrical influence for her and hes one of her favorite writers and all that shit. When i first found that out i was like "hm. funny." because you know you wouldn't think of them together at all. BUT. then i thought about it more. and like,,,, taylor swift is kind of like a werid super alternate reality version of Pete.

Hear me out: she is a little insane. i'm not saying that in the "women be crazy" way, i'm saying it as in like she potrays herself in her music as obsessive, vengeful, angry, and more. who else does that? pete wentz. Now, i don't think her lyrics are nearly as good as his tbh, but there ARE some similarities in themes, especially anything about romantic partners being either super depressing, super angry, or super obsessive. like, Picture to Burn is just her being like "fuck u i wanna light shit on fire now aaaaaah i'm crazy" and The Way I Loved You is just her being all "aaaaah you're fucking insaaaaaaaane i'm obsessed with youuuu!!!!". I think it's obvious from her songs that a lot of her relationships have been pretty toxic or chaotic in a similar way to Petes'. I know she's said that if she were a man no one would call her crazy and dramatic and shit like they do now, and like yeah way less people would, but i still think she'd have a pete wentz thing going on whether shes a woman or not. She's not as insane as him out in public but i think thats out of necessity because if any woman acted like pete wentz does they would be so fucking hated lmao. like from her songs and how she describes herself i totally think she's a pete wentz kinnie.

anyways, i have now forgotten the reason for sending you this monstrosity, i am so sorry. i just relate to pete wentz way too much and then since she really reminds me of him in a lot of ways and i loved her when i was really young, she'll always have a place in my heart. taylor and pete and i are all insane.

jen. i’m sorry, but home girl got together with a guy she absolutely knew wasn’t compatible with, and partly, she played the cards of “going with something new and discovering loads about myself, and changing for the better.” thing is, jen didn’t change, but she surely tried, and succeeded, changing tim! PLAYER!

lucy. now, i know what you’re gonna say. “vena it was obvious she was playing their ex.” yes, but not for the reason you think. i believe lucy wanted to be the cinderella story of the season, which sells more than the cheated on girl, especially on mason’s route, given he was coupled up with cherry just before that night. it wasn’t a big deal! but lucy thought to herself, and i admire her stupidity: “what could be more moving than someone from the past still be the one he loves? and coming in, winning his heart and the show?” awww! i reckon that’s what she wanted.

allegra. she really likes mason, and until cherry steals him away (and he’s hella pleased about that) i believe she was being genuine about finding someone. but after being robbed, she was absolutely playing the game, and the narrator and ‘thought bubbles’ are not subtle about that. i really see allegra thinking she could gain popularity with the public, and win, after being stabbed in the back by cherry. thing is, she’s NOT CHARISMATIC AT ALL, and everything she did turned out to be obnoxious, costing her spot in the game.

villa!jasper/miles. like i said, that was allegra’s strategy. but i do reckon the boy liked her right away, and he was used by her. ‘cause when we save him, on that recoupling, he was looking around the lawn, and i think he had an eye on her since the first time they came through those doors. BUT he did play along, maybe even knowing allegra wasn’t that into him.

regarding erikah. i don’t think it was a strategy causing that thing with mc’s partner. it was a childish moment, but that’s it. nothing to do with the game.

‘season 2′

returning!hannah. pfff, do i need to explain anything?? underdog that has a second chance, and is able to reconnect with the boy she didn’t have a chance??? especially watching said boy saying “maybe things would’ve worked with hannah” ?? yeah, she was playing for real!

returning!lurik. listen. at first, they’re programmed to be ✨“the one that got away”✨, and that makes loads of sense on why they chase you when they come back. but since players outsmarted fusebox on the spot, that didn’t work. with that being said, they really focus their attention on mc, and mc only. but if you reject them, it’s revealed they were chasing you and other people, hannah or chelsea. and that to me is playing the game to stay until the end.

hope. she knew she and noah weren’t compatible, but she estabilished the sex at the beginning, to steer his eyes from priya, alright? whether is wrong or not, it’s up for debate, the fact of the matter is: SHE DID IT. and i really think she let orc boy believe she wouldn't be bothered if he chose her, because of the whole “turning noah’s head” talk going around the villa. i don’t think that makes her a villain, but it makes her a survivor in the game, and that’s the definition of a player in this scenario.

bobby. AAAAAAH! SHUT UP AND LET ME TALK! he didn’t get with anyone, romantically, unless mc is on his route, but he became close friends with everyone, including the most difficult people, and you know lottie is in the bunch! even after operation nope, he managed to save hope, and i really thinks part of the decision was strategy. he’s always socializing, and manages to stay until the end without being in a real couple. that’s playing the game, my guy! that might not be what he thinks by the end, but it was a strategy he used at the beginning, and if you don’t believe that, i-

and i don’t think he believed he would win the game, but he did have a strategy in case he didn’t get with anyone, romantically. it’s too much of a coincidence tat the boy knows he “has difficulties on finding someone a potential romantic partner” and manages to stay until the end. 

blake. she admits noah only took her back because she convinced him. now... regarding lurik, you’re telling me the same girl would get along with henrik AND lucas??? really???? “wE’re cOmpAtibLe!” shut up, blake! no you’re not! you just played your way into the villa, and managed to hurt my mc in the process, so you can get fucked. like an anon pointed out here, blake was probably mimicking mc because she knew how popular mc was, since the beginning! player!

rahim. asking jo to be his girlfriend ??? after a day and half of being couple up ??? ummmmm... yeah! he might’ve not played the game with priya/mc or shannon, but he surely did with jo!

jo! if she liked rahim right away or not, that’s debatable. because his eyes gleamed when he heard the word “BMX”, and she knew he was into it because of social media, so dropping that information right away was of the essence... she had at least one boy to choose her. she lied about that kiss, and honestly? it was a fantastic strategy. she came in pretty late and had to make sure she would stay. kissing a boy like that? BOLD. and it paid off, sort of... shannon was gone and she was in for a relationship not even two days later after the recoupling. you’re telling me rahim knew it was love??? PLEASE. she definitely made herself sound dumber and more innocent than she actually is. then tried to pose as “i just thought i needed to establish...”

and if i’m gonna be completely honest... graham. listen! marisol is very hot and attractive, but there’s no way fish boy would take too much of the whole psychoanalyzing for long, and saying “i was gonna play the game, but then✨i met you and all of that changed✨” is the biggest bullshit, and if i was an islander, i would absolutely pull that one off! HE KNOWS HOW TO LOOK CLUMSY. how the hell do you expect me to not believe he was acting the entire time ??? marisol, at that point, was an underdog, AND an easy target. i honestly don’t see them working out for long. if he falls for her later, that’s fine. but he was still playing the game, even after the casa boy you share a bed admits it. that’s genius if you ask me!

and finally... i hate it, but... gary. AAAAAAAAAH!! I KNOW! HEAR ME OUT!! listen, i love the boy with all my heart alright? he has my love since day one! with that being established, very strongly, i do think outside of mc’s route he’s just there, surviving in a couple he doesn’t really feel happy in. but to him, it’s better to stay in the house and have some fun with his mates, than going home. he doesn’t fall for lottie, and holds back until after elisa and jo arrive, regarding ‘big bits’, so like... he was waiting for mc, and when it doesn’t happen, he goes with lottie out of attraction. i don’t think he believes he’s gonna win the game, per se, but he never breaks up either. it’s sus, it’s what i’m saying! he’s having his fun, hooking up with a hot girl, but he does know nothing is gonna come out of it.

‘season 3′

no players, just pawns, and a really bad quality of material for that matter. you could argue harry, because of his competitive side, but i don’t reckon he wouldn’t go so far... the game doesn’t allow him to have such a strong personality. it’s “ANGRY GRRRRR HARRY” then radio silence, and they never talk about it, ever again.

and it’s not like season three has that much depth anyway, so like... who cares??

anon 1: Prompt for the renouncement AU.  Surely the happy couple (plus assorted Huaisangs and juniors, if you like) need to meet with some chefs and sample a gazillion interesting things to decide on the banquet menu.   WWX, of course, samples all the wines...It would also be lovely if you wrote them getting dressed and having their hair done to match the gorgeous fanart of the two of them kissing one another's hands...

Despite Wei Wuxian’s insistence that Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen were going to far too much trouble for the union between their two clans, his brother and future brother-in-law refused to do away with the wedding rehearsal--a grand event in its own right, with a reception for the two bridegrooms’ families and an official exchange of gifts--and set the date for the longest day of the summer, a fortnight before the actual marriage ceremony.

“You’ll enjoy the party,” Jiang Cheng scolds, when Wei Wuxian tries to complain. “And you don’t even have to do anything, so be good and let me and Zewu-jun handle it.”

In the end, Wei Wuxian spends the rehearsal morning tasting wine, because three kinds of liquor are usually served at weddings in Yunmeng: with the sweetest and most delicious drinks poured out alongside the food, and the stronger, sourer ones reserved for later in the night, after the newlyweds retire to their bridal chamber. Surprisingly, Lan Xichen tags along to help him choose the first liquor, and approves of the golden honey-plum wine so highly that he buys a whole case to take back to Gusu with him.

“I leave wine bottles as offerings when I burn incense for Mingjue-xiong,” he explains wistfully, as the two of them go back to the clan quarters with enough fengmi jiu for the dinner party. “He would have liked this, I think.”

After Li Shuai and Yu Zhenhong finish sorting the liquor, Jiang Cheng displays Wei Wuxian’s wedding dowry, and Lan Xichen hands over the bride price, while Wei Wuxian tries not to choke on his own spit from his place at Lan Zhan’s side. He knew about the dowry Jiang Cheng and Jin Ling were settling on him, of course--there was a trunkful of silk sheets in violet and blue, and three deep chests of new gowns and slippers tailored to fit his height and slim shoulders, and then a tea set and a box of gold jewelry. There was also a larger case of jade and silver trinkets for him to wear after moving to the Cloud Recesses, where gold was largely forbidden for the sake of breaking the law against extravagance, and Wei Wuxian had to promise not to touch any of it until he and Lan Zhan officially start living together in the jingshi.

Jin Ling decided to present him with a box of baby’s essentials, which Wei Wuxian thought was ridiculous--the only children he and Lan Zhan will ever have are A-Yuan and Xiao-Yu, both of whom are far too old to actually use the gift, but his nephew looked so pleased when he presented his dajiu with the tiny shoes and dresses that Wei Wuxian shut his mouth and accepted them without protest.

After all, he and Lan Zhan might really end up with a new baby sometime in the not-too-distant future, if Wei Wuxian’s propensity for acquiring small children is anything to go by.

But none of this prepared him for the delivery of the bride price, which turns out to be six thousand golden taels from the Gusu Lan treasury to make up for the loss of Lotus Pier’s newly-instated head disciple and the zongzhu’s elder brother, not to mention the only legitimate heir to Yunmeng Jiang. Jiang Cheng doesn’t even bother to look gracious when he sees it, as Wei Wuxian notes with a cough that sounds more like a strangled scream than anything else--because his shidi seems to believe that a small fortune in gold is his due for having to part with Wei Wuxian, even though Lan Xichen will be compensated for about a fifth of the bride price on the actual wedding day, 

“Did your brother just bankrupt your sect so you could marry me?” Wei Wuxian demands, half-crazed as Lan Zhan ushers him back to his bedroom to bathe and dress in his freshly-tailored bridal robes. “Lan Zhan!”

“My uncle set aside a bride price for me before I was born, since he guessed that I would require no less than five thousand gold whenever I decided to marry,” his intended shrugs. “Hurry up and dress, sweetheart, or we will be late.”

Wei Wuxian relents and takes a hurried bath while Lan Zhan goes off to tend to his own ablutions, watching Sizhui and Xiao-Yu play together from behind the privacy screen as he scrubs his back and arms and pours perfumed oil into his hair. Sizhui seems to be trying to wrangle A-Yu into an embroidered green coat and trousers, but the baby looks far more interested in Wei Wuxian’s clothes: namely, the red and purple wedding gown, since he manages to snatch the shining silk robes out of his xiongzhang’s hands before building a nest in his pillow-basket with them.  

“Xiao-Yu is a bird,” he insists, as Wei Wuxian drops his cake of soap and laughs himself hoarse at the sight of him. “It’s my nest! Go ‘way!”

“A-Yu!” Sizhui cries, nearly stunned speechless. “Didi, those are A-Die’s wedding robes! You can’t play with them, so be a good boy and listen to xiongzhang, or--or you’ll make Yuan-gege cry!”

Xiao-Yu only squints at him before turning up his button nose. “No!”

But Lan Zhan arrives a few minutes later and coaxes the baby out of his basket with a stick of haw candy, leaving Wuxian to heave himself out of the tub and draws on his underwear. After that, the three of them lure Xiao-Yu into his tiny silk coat (by feeding him all the candy he can eat, to keep him from running away) before Wei Wuxian finally dons his bridal ensemble: a deep red overgown with lotus blossoms sewn onto the sleeve-hems in lilac and gold, while the skirt and shoulders boast a shower of stray golden petals falling from the heart of a single central flower. 

“Let me do your hair,” Lan Zhan murmurs, as if this were their actual wedding day instead of the rehearsal dinner. “You look beautiful, Wei Ying.”

Wei Wuxian feels his heart quiver at the compliment as A-Yuan steps forward with his lotus headdress, pinning it into place in front of his high-combed bun so that Lan Zhan can secure the tiny gold chains fastening it to the back of his head. He often noticed his friend’s good looks before they were engaged, of course, which is the only reason why Lan Zhan finding him beautiful in return has flustered him so--and he tries to put the thought from his mind, or at least shove it away so that he can examine it later in private. 

Anyone would find it pleasing to hear such a compliment from their bridegroom, he thinks, before blushing himself half to death when Lan Zhan leans down to kiss the side of his face. Get it together, Wei Wuxian!

I’m a little eh about the ending. Mostly just in that it looked like Venom tossed her into the bell, when like, anything else could have sufficed? I guess to stop them also getting hit by the side blast, but I think I would have preferred her succeeding, Carnage freaking out and throwing her into the bell, and  splitting/more destabilising with Cletus because he loves Francis more than sticking with Carnage. She just gets flattened by the bell and no more comment about that from Cletus? Really?

Oh my god, did I love Venom’s ‘NOPE!!’ at seeing Carnage, ahahahahaha.
