#I know that nat made her choice bc clint is a part of her family and that she would do anything to protect him

Hey! could you please right a natasha x wife r? Idk if you remember when the avengers have to take refuge and they have to go to clints house (he's reluctant bc he has a secret family only nat knows about)? well could you write it so it's actually nats family that no one knows about? and she's super reluctant to take them there
everyone's alive and no one knew she had a family (not even clint) and the timeline is SUPER wack bc plot twist, yelenas already there. the avengers are hurt nat didn't tell them and they're kinda mad too
nats wife doesn't like having them there bc it's her home and they're putting them all in more danger then they normally are in. the kids don't like them either bc they 'take their mom away' or something like that (but the kids adooore their aunt yelena)
this is super long I'm sorry but the idea has been plaguing my head and I feel like it would be fun to read about. thank you and have a great day!
hi! yes! don’t worry about it being too long, i’ll listen to and write whatever thoughts you have.
safehouse
You and Yelena were baking a cake when pack of Avengers came piling through the front door.
You were expecting Natasha later in the week, and alone. Not with the danger that is literally standing in your doorway.
That was the best part of this place, there was no danger. Nat left work at work, and when she came home all she focused on was her family—you, Yelena, and your two lovely children.
So you were definitely surprised, and not happy, to see the other five Avengers.
You walk further into the living room, and when Nat sees you, her face is immediately apologetic.
“Babe—“
“Who are all these people?” Yelena comes and stands beside you in the living room, staring up at all the men.
“This is Steve, Clint, Tony, Thor, and Bruce. They’re my friends,” Natasha shrugs.
“Uh, no, we’re not your friends now,” Clint crosses his arms with sass.
“They’re the Avengers,” You correct your wife. “And they shouldn’t be here.”
“Listen, I wasn’t going to even bring them here, but—“
“It’s our fault, ma’am,” Steve interrupted.
“Oh, here we go,” Tony throws his hands in the air.
“What?” Steve whines.
“First the language, and now the manners. Good god,” Tony rolls his eyes.
“Okay, take it elsewhere. More preferably, back to where you came from,” You fake smile, earning a glare from Nat.
“Where are the kids?” Nat asks, and you get the feeling she needs to talk. Alone.
“Upstairs in the playroom. Yelena, why don’t you take them outside to play on the swing set?” You ask sweetly.
“Ah, gotcha,” Yelena gave a look to Natasha that said, good luck.
The kids say hello to Nat, made faces at the men still in your living room, and then squealed with joy out the door because their mama is home.
You looked away from the door and back up at the Avengers once again. Nat softly grabs you by the arm and pulls your towards the other side of the living room.
“What are they doing here, Nat?” You lean closer, your foreheads slightly touching.
“I had no other choice,” Natasha’s raspy voice makes it hard not to forgive her.
You sigh and purse your lips.
“Really,” Nat insists. “If there was any other choice, I would have made it. We just got into a little trouble, and need to camp out for a few days.”
You made a vow not to ask what trouble she was in, so you kept your mouth shut when she says this.
“Okay. But if there’s even a little bit of damage to the house, they are paying for it,” You lift your head up and walk back towards the group, Natasha following close behind.
Nat glances your way, then back at the boys, “We can stay here. But only for a few days.”
“So this is where Lady Natasha goes every time she takes off,” Thor nods.
“Yes. A home we didn’t even know about?” Bruce shakes his head.
“I can’t believe you never told me,” Clint looks genuinely hurt when Nat looks at him. “I thought we were friends.”
“Yeah, what he said,” Tony puts his hand on his chest.
You roll your eyes and head back to the kitchen before the cake burns, letting your wife deal with her friends/fellow Avengers.
You finish the frosting Yelena had started, and ice the cake once it comes out of the oven. You then start on dinner. Something easy everyone can enjoy—pasta.
Dinner goes about as well as you thought it would.
Nat and the kids catch up. She just saw them a week or so ago, so there isn’t much to catch up, but you love watching Natasha play and talk with the kids.
You try not to laugh as the kids keep making faces at the guys.
Your daughter starts to kick Tony in the shin, to which him and your daughter start having a staring contest.
“Okay, what are you guys doing?” Nat asked.
“Your tiny agent keeps kicking me,” Tony says, never taking his eyes off the smaller girl.
“Okay she’s not an agent, and it’s probably because you take her mother away every chance you get,” You sighed with frustration. “Good she’s kicking you, maybe you’ll leave then.”
“Y/n—“
“I’m sorry,” You look at your wife. “I said it was okay, even though you’re putting us it more danger. But, I will try to be civil, but only for Natasha.”
“Thank you.”
Later in the night you had assigned everyone to places in the house to spend the night.
Yelena had volunteered to spend the night with the kids, so at least two people could bunk in there, and it was fine by you because the kids adored Yelena.
So two people slept in Yelena’s room, you had one in the living room, and two in the guest room downstairs.
“They are mad at me, you know?” Nat brushed through her hair.
“They’ll get over it. It’s a safe house,” You wrap your arms around her waist from behind. “You are supposed to keep it secret.”
“I know,” Nat turns so you two are face to face. “I love you, and thank you for letting us stay here. We’ll be out of her in two days, tops.”
“Good,” You plant a kiss on the side of Natasha’s mouth.
“But I might not be back for a while,” Nat cups your cheek in her hand.
“I had a feeling,” You look down.
“I’ll just have to make it up to you.”
“How about you start now?” You lift a brow and squeal as your wife picks you up and puts you on the bed.
Danger aside, you loved having your wife back in your arms, and you were granted with just that from this crazy mission.

warnings: a little angst in the beginning, fluff towards the end

part 1 | part 2 | part 3
Tumblr media
You haven’t asked her again.
It’s not that Natasha was expecting you to ask her to marry you again.
But it’d been two years since you two officially got back together, and not once did you give off even the slightest hint that suggested to Nat that you were even starting to entertain the thought of thinking about proposing to her again.
It took a while, a lot of tears and a lot of late night conversations where you two would bare your souls to each other, wondering if it was worth it to start over again and not make the same mistakes.
It took time, and slowly but surely, you two were back to being where you were before everything went wrong.
Natasha had even gone as far as to ask Wanda if you had said anything to her, only to be met with disappointment when the younger girl shook her head and told her that 'sorry, Nat, but Y/N/N hasn't mentioned anything to me either', looking at her mentor with a sad smile.
She came home to you that day looking disheartened, but when you asked her what was wrong, she smiled and shook her head, reassuring you that she was okay, pushing away the nagging thought lingering in the back of her mind:
Did you still want to marry her?
-
“How did you know?”
Clint looks at her in slight confusion and Natasha couldn't really blame him for it. She’d been busy having an internal conversation with herself the whole time they'd been sitting outside and unfortunately for him, she’d voiced her thoughts at the most random part.
You two decided to visit the Barton's since it'd been a while since either of you had seen Laura and the kids. That’s what led Nat to where she was now; currently sitting with her best friend at the picnic table in Clint’s gigantic backyard, watching you and Laura with Cooper, Lila, and Nate, the three kids laughing as you showed them new fighting stances and moves while fooling around and playing with them.
“How did I know what?”
She looks over at the archer and tugs at her bottom lip, gesturing to the space around them.
“That this,” She sighs. “This was the life you wanted.”
Natasha watches as he looks around at the area surrounding them, his eyes softening when they land on his wife and kids, something that definitely doesn’t go unnoticed by her.
“What, the whole 'married with kids living on a big farm house' life?” He asks with a raised brow.
The redhead is quiet for a moment before she nods her head. “Exactly.”
Clint exhales deeply as his eyes locked on Laura’s figure, who was watching you with an endearing smile while ran around with her children.
“I guess I kind of just knew," He shrugs.
"We were just sitting together one day, and I looked her and just knew that I wanted to be by her side for the rest of my life," He adds. "We live such crazy lives, where nothing ever stays the same and nothing's ever really certain, but she's the most constant thing in my life. I don't know who I would've become without her.”
He starts off saying, and Natasha watches the way his eyes never leaves his wife. She wonders what’s going on inside his head, but nevertheless waits patiently for what else he has to say.
“At the end of the day, getting married doesn’t really matter. It’s just something on a piece of paper that binds you two together. You could spend your whole life with someone without getting married, as long as you love each other, that's all that really matters.”
He pauses, this time to look at her. “But that feeling you get on your wedding day?”
He's smiling, reminiscing back on the memories and Natasha knows what he’s thinking about. After all, she was there for his wedding too and she remembers how he couldn’t stop smiling throughout the whole ceremony.
“It’s indescribable. The fact that this person standing in front of you is vowing to spend the rest of their life with you - they’re vowing that you would be the person they would always come home to, you were the one they would lean on, you were the one who they wanted by their side - for better, for worse, in sickness, in health, till death do you part.”
His voice gets softer and softer the more he goes on, and there’s a fondness in his expression that wasn’t there before.
“When they’re staring at you, promising you all these things, it's like you forget everything that led up to that moment. It’s just you and them. The rest of the world fades away.”
He clears his throat when he remembers who he was talking to, cheeks tinted slightly as he smiles at her. He would crack a joke if it was any other conversation, but this was his best friend. He knew what she needed to hear in that moment.
“I just think it’s the realisation that hits the deepest, you know? The realisation that you’re never going to be alone in life anymore.” He says, meeting her eyes.
“That they’ll love you no matter what, even when it’s hard to. Even when things get scary, or when things get hard, you'll always have someone who loves you wholeheartedly.”
Nat can’t help but hear your voice in her head, remembering the smile on your face when you told her something similar.
“I love you on purpose and I love you by choice, wholeheartedly and intentionally.”
-
“So, are you going to tell me what this is all about?”
They’ve been quiet for a moment, neither one of them willing to break the silence, until Clint took the first step and asked her what was on his mind.
“Y/N wants that.” She simply answers and Clint already knows. Natasha spilled everything to him when you left the compound all those years ago to go on your mission with Maria. He knows the story between the two of you.
“But they haven’t brought it up again, you know?"
He lets out a quiet ‘oh’ and glances over at you. You were smiling brightly at Lila as she told you a story, Nate now perched up on your shoulders while Cooper was showing Laura the newest defence stance you taught him.
“Well, maybe Y/N has changed their mind.”
But they both know you well enough to know that you haven’t. It’s hard to ignore the way your eyes practically turn into half moons with how wide you were smiling, showing everyone just how happy you were to spend time with the little (but not so little anymore) ones.
Maybe you were just afraid of history repeating itself.
Natasha would see the way your eyes would light up when kids came up to the two of you whenever you went on walks by the park near your apartment, silently loving the way they could bring a laugh out of you with their excitement and curiosity. You’d introduce yourself and then introduce them to Nat, smiling proudly to yourself when you introduce her as your girlfriend, always pressing your lips to her cheek after the kids would walk off with their parents with a wave.
You looked content with the way things were, but your eyes would always say more than you would let on. But the longing and wistful looks would disappear long before Nat could ever broach the subject with you.
“I want that with Y/N.”
She can see the shock on her best friends face. After all, it was the first time she'd ever admitted it to anyone besides herself; after trying to avoid the topic for so long, the words admitting her wants felt foreign even to Natasha.
“Want what with Y/N, Nat?” He asks her tenderly, wanting to hear her admit to him everything that she’d been thinking about ever since she asked him her very first question.
“Marriage.” She voices aloud. “And maybe one day, kids too. Everything you said, I want that with Y/N, I'd like to spend the rest of my life with Y/N.”
Clint can tell that there’s more on her mind, but Natasha's too busy watching you steadily, watching the way you interacted with his kids and he knows that she’s too deep in her thoughts to tell him more. Instead, he reaches over and squeezes her shoulder before pressing an encouraging kiss to her temple.
“Maybe you should just ask them yourself.” He says with a nonchalant shrug, looking over at her, smiling at her wide eyes at his suggestion. He shrugs again, this time looking over at where you were before speaking.
“I mean, what’s the worse that could happen?”
Y/N could say no.
-
It happens when the two of you are washing the dishes after lunch.
It’s nothing you two haven’t done before, but the absolute domesticity of it all makes her mouth start moving before her brain can think everything through.
“Marry me?”
“…What?”
Your stunned tone reminds her too well of her own reaction three years ago, but she doesn’t let it deter her from repeating herself.
“Marry me.”
To anyone else, it might sound like she was confident in her words, but you could read her well enough to know that she was a nervous wreck standing there holding the dish towel.
“Are you for real?”
She lowers her head slightly as her mind reminds her of the words she said to you.
“Marriage isn’t in the cards for me, a family isn’t in the cards for me. I’m sorry if it for you, but I can’t give you that.”
She peeks through her hair to glance at you. You looked shocked but you didn't look like you were going to flat out reject her. But she can’t help but remember your words when she asked you if you regretted ever asking her to marry you.
“I don’t regret asking you, because then at least I can say that I tried. But it was stupid of me to just assume that you would say yes because of how long we'd been together.”
Maybe you thought that she’s only asking you because you hadn’t made the first move yet. Or maybe you thought she was only asking you because you might leave her if she didn’t.
“Nat," You sigh softly. “You know we don’t have to get married just because I want to.”
She was right.
But it gives her hope to hear you say 'because I want to', that you still think and still want that type of life with her. Even though you’re telling that it was okay - that she is and always will be enough for you - it made her resolute in showing you just how much she wanted that life with you too.
“I’m happy as long as I get to be by your side.”
Your words are making her melt inside - and with the way that you’re looking at her, she knows that you’re just speaking your mind.
“I see you with Cooper, Lila, and Nate, and I see how happy they make you." She says softly and she watches you soften at the sight of her - eyebrows all furrowed, bottom lip forming a pout while she tries to find the right words to say.
“Who would I be if I stood in the way of making you the happiest you can be?" She voices reluctantly, partly because she was afraid you would tease her (which she knows you would never, not about something as serious as this) and partly because she was terrified to hear your answer.
You hum to yourself and she feels you tucking her hair behind her ear before cupping her cheek gingerly. She’s still not looking at you but she can practically feel the reassuring warmth of your smile radiating from in front of her.
“Well first of all, you’d still be the love of my life.”
The words slip from your mouth so easily and so sincerely, that Natasha can't blame her heart for skipping a beat. She gathers enough courage to finally meet your eyes, and she watches your smile grow even more when she does.
“You make me so happy. So, so happy, it's unbelievable. I love those kids to death and yes they make me happy, but at the end of the day, moya lyubov, you make me the happiest.
"Anything you’re willing to give me, Nat - your love, your affection, or even just your time - I’ll take it. I don’t need anything else.”
Natasha never told you about the time she overheard you and Laura talking about kids a few summers back, back when it was only Cooper and Lila. The two of you visited the Barton family, just after you had proposed. Neither of you had the heart to tell either of them what happened, but the couple could feel the tension whenever you were both in the same room.
You told Laura in a gentle voice that you wanted that kids someday when the older woman had asked you about your plans for the future, but Natasha knew that you were putting on a fake smile for the older woman.
“You’re not stupid for wanting things, Y/N/N.”
That was what she told you two years ago. You answered her with a shrug, like you thought that you wanted in life wasn’t important anymore. She’d give you the world if it meant that she would never have to see the pain flickering your eyes like that ever again.
“I know you say that you don’t need anything else and that you’re happy with me, but the more I think about it, I- I just-, would it be so bad?”
You tilt you head to the side like an adorably confused puppy, and Natasha had to fight the urge to cup your face and kiss you senseless.
“What would, Nat?"
Maybe it's the fact that you always speak to her in a steady voice - you were never one to raise your voice after all, always the level-headed one out of the two of you - that made Nat so sure that you would be the perfect parent, the perfect lifelong partner.
She takes a shaky breath, praying to every deity that was out there for courage, her hands finding yours.
“I would really like to marry you, Y/N.” She admits. “I want to be by your side for the rest of my life, if you'd let me.”
She watches you look at her, really look at her, with hesitation in your eyes. It breaks her heart all over again to see you look so guarded as you tugged on your bottom lip, looking so willing and wanting to truly give her every last piece of you to have, yet so reluctant at the same time for fear of having your heart broken once more.
She’s ready to tell you to think about it, that there's no rush and she'll wait until you were ready to give her an answer but in all honestly she’s ready to start crying because if this is what it felt like to have a proposal turned down then damn you did a whole lot better job at acting like you were fine when she told you no.
But before she can do any of that, you send a fond smile her way, calming the racing of Natasha's heart with the sheer tenderness of the way the corners of your mouth tilted up.
“It would be an honour to marry you, moya lyubov.”

FINALLY, MY UNIMPORTANT COMMENTS/THEORIES/IDEAS ARE BACK. I really missed this section. (If you don't follow me, I've been doing this with all the series of the MCU, pretty fun)
I just finished the two episodes of Hawkeye, so here we go.
SPOILERS
Where do I start? Oh, of course, Clint cringing with the Rogers Musical and then looking broken when he saw "Nat"... why, Marvel, WHY? I literally felt my heart breaking for him. Can't imagine how much he misses her and like his daughter said, she was his best friend. It hurt, it hurt.
Well, now being said that, let's talk about my girl. Kate Bishop. First I wanna say that Hailee was the best choice for that character, I think once I read how much she wanted to play that role and it shows it. Let's start with her background story... common, but useful: dad's dead. I loved the scene where they showed how Clint became his favourite Avenger, I mean it gives you a whole different perspective bc yeah, when you're watching The Avengers (2012) everything looks cool from their perspective, how they're fighting and stuff, but seeing it from a normal person's pov is different.
Being honest, I dont know much about Kate and Clint from the comics, just the basic, but I did know about Clint being deaf. The explanation why he is deaf, for me, was a good one. I mean, at the end of the day, Clint doesn't have superpowers, he's just a normal person with great abilities. Obviously all those explosions have a consequence, so yeah, love that. Also, how they summed it up with just scenes of Clint and the sound of explosions... Nice.
I do have to read more about the tracksuit mafia, I know they have them hostages, but they're hilarious. Also, Echo? Such a badass.
OH RIGHT!!! HOW COOPER GREW UP SO FAST, I WAS LIKE WHO'S HIM??? Srly, I was in shock. I saw Lila before so I wasn't that surprised, but Cooper and Nathaniel made me wanna cry.
And Lucky, the pizza dog deserves his own paragraph. The star of the show. Argue with the wall.
Well, we all know that Jack is crap, no questions about that, but can we talk about Eleanor Bishop? So far I'm not trusting her. She know something, she's involved in something BUT IN WHAT?!
I read a post about how Clint and Laura have the healthiest relationship in the MCU and YES, IT'S TRUE. She knows him so well and is so supportive, I just can't, they're the best. Also, the part when they talk about Natasha? Yeah, it shattered me because she practically died for the Barton family. She knew how Clint wanted to be there for his kids and also for Laura. And the friendship between Laura and Nat too? It had to be hard for her when she knew that Nat died. I miss her so much.
My memory sucks, so if I'm missing something, please tell me. I'm gonna re-watch the two episodes later with my mum so if I wanna add something else, I'll do it later.
Loved the first two episodes, let's see how it goes, but if they keep giving us episodes like those or better, definitely it's gonna become my second favourite MCU series... it already has extra points for being set at Christmas.
Thank you for reading!
Also, if there's a grammar mistake, just ignore it, pls, I'm eating and this avocado toast is amazing.

Divided We Fall
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Reader
Words: ~2.7k
Summary: In which she feels torn between the man she’s grown to love, whose ideas she agrees with, and her mentor and brother figure - who took her in with open arms and always accepted her when nobody else could.
Warnings: mentions of violence, angst, soft steve as always. you know the drill
A/N: tony’s your sort-of older brother (he took you in to train you not long before howard and maria passed), and you’re around steve’s age? I think? idk. includes a short IW scene but the time skip isn’t as drastic. SUPER SHITTY BC THIS IS A REALLY OLD ONESHOT

Steve stood alone in the isle after Peggy’s funeral, leaning against the pew as he stared blankly down at the ground with his hands stuffed in his pockets.
You silently approached him and without introduction, he began to speak. "When I came out of the ice, I thought everyone I had known was gone. Then I found out that she was alive. I was just lucky to have her."
"She had you back, too."
Steve looked up, meeting your gaze. "Who else signed?"
"Tony, Rhodey, Vision, Nat."
"Clint?"
"Says he's retired," you smiled slightly.
"Wanda?"
"TBD. I'm off to Vienna for the signing of the Accords. There's plenty of room on the jet."
Steve sighed and bowed his head.
"Just because it's the path of least resistance," you continued, "doesn't mean it's the wrong path. Staying together is more important than how we stay together."
"What are we giving up to do it?" He shook his head, unconvinced by your words. "I'm sorry, Y/N. I can't sign it."
"I know. I don't want to, either. But it's not like I have any other choice."
"The thing is, you do."
"You know why I am." You gave him a hard stare. "Tony...he's basically the only family I have left. I'm no longer a daughter, no longer a girl with dreams...no longer with hope. I'm a weapon. As much as I don't agree with him, betraying him is the last thing I wanna do. He’s my mentor. I can’t just turn against him like that...it wouldn’t feel right."
"Y/N..."
"You know what I've done," you took in a deep breath, "I don't want to hurt any more people. I don't want to be controlled by a government that might not deem everything big enough of a threat for us to go out and do something about it, but I can't risk any more than I already have. I don't have any other choice but to sign those Accords, Steve."
"Then what are you doing here?"
"I didn't want you to be alone."
You stepped forward, carefully pulling him into an embrace and at first, he tensed up at your touch but eventually relaxed, letting his arms wrap around you to pull you closer. And he just held you there, one arm wrapped tightly around your waist, the other one held to the back of your head. Your head was buried in his chest and the warmth of him felt so familiar and safe; oddly comforting, that your chest began to ache because you knew in a matter of time you'd be ripped apart again.
Steve felt guilty. Despite the fact that he was the majority of the reason why all of this was happening, you still found it in your heart to look past it all and forgive him, to accept him for who he was.
The broken woman standing before him was someone he'd grown to care about far more than he wanted himself to. Knowing that it wasn't long before you were taken away from him and forced to stand against him only made his grip around you tighten, as he was afraid to let you go out of his sight.
...
Seeing you across from him on the opposite side of the battlefield, standing firmly in between your Tony and T'Challa, broke his heart. If he was forced to fight Tony's team, he would. But he wasn't going to fight you, no matter what.
Everyone, while they were all busy fighting each other, could clearly tell something was going on between the two of you. But they didn't question it. They could clearly tell Steve loved you too much to even try and lay a finger on you and when someone else tried to, he quickly advanced on them.
You finally caved and turned last minute towards the end of the battle, unable to stand against the one man you cared about more than anyone else that wasn't family.
Everyone's actions followed with consequences. Though you'd switched sides abruptly, you'd been granted permission to stay with Tony at the compound under strict circumstances that you never stepped out of line again, or you'd be sent to the Raft prison along with the rest of Team Cap as well.
"Cap loves you, you know," Rhodey noticed your solemn expression as you, him, and Tony sat around in the lounge, taking in the aftermath.
You shook your head, squeezing your eyes shut as you pressed your fingers to your temples. "I made a mistake."
"We all make mistakes. People do bad things when they're trying to survive."
"Tony, I'm sorry," you turned over to the billionaire, "but I just...I couldn't stand against him. Not when we've stuck together for so long." The words that came out of Tony's mouth surprised you.
"I know. He couldn't do that, either."
"We've all done things that we'd like to take back," you murmured, staring down at your hands now in your lap, "Pain makes people change. I'd like to believe I didn't just do this, I didn't almost turn on you guys. You know I didn't want to sign. But I did, because you're like my family. I can't fight my own family." "He's made mistakes, yeah," Rhodey said, "but we've all messed up, you know. We’re only human.”
"My mistake was letting myself love someone I'd have to end up hurting eventually," you stated bitterly, a sharp edge to your voice.
"Cap made that same mistake, too," Tony spoke up. "We all screwed up. Some of us just have to find it in ourselves to forgive...but I don't know if I can do that yet."
"I know," you glanced over at him, "I miss them so much. Your parents...they changed my life for the better."
The billionaire took in a shaky breath. "I miss them too."
"You guys might wanna open this now," Rhodey handed you an envelope with your name on it, and Tony a package with a phone inside. "Tony Stank."
You snorted, and Tony cracked a small smile.
"Table for one, Tony Stank?" you joked.
"You're practically a Stank too, Y/L/N, you know that," he raised an eyebrow at you.
"Tony Stank just sounds funnier."
You quickly fell silent as you opened the letter.
Y/N, I'm glad you're back at the compound. I don't like the idea of you and Stark rattling around a mansion by yourself. We all need family. The Avengers are yours, maybe more so than mine. I've been on my own since I was 18. I never really fit in anywhere, even in the army. My faith's in people, I guess. Individuals. And I'm happy to say that, for the most part, they haven't let me down. Which is why I can't let them down either. Locks can be replaced, but maybe they shouldn't. I know I hurt you both. I guess I thought by not telling you about Howard and Maria that I was sparing you, but I can see now that I was really sparing myself, and I'm sorry. Hopefully one day you can understand. I wish we all agreed on the Accords, I really do. I know you're doing what you believe in, and that's all any of us can do. I know you didn't want to sign, but you were right in siding with your family. Even though you were on the opposite side of the battlefield, I couldn't fight you. I didn't want to hurt you. I still don't and I never will. No matter what happens. Just know that I ...
"Priority call from Secretary Ross," FRIDAY's voice drifted through the room, "There's been a breach at the Raft prison." "Yeah, put him through."
"Y/N, Tony, we have a problem, Cap and—" Ross called in.
"Ah, please hold," you interrupted.
"No, don't—"
You glanced back down at the letter in your hands, filled from top to bottom with Steve's elegant handwriting.
So, no matter what. I promise you, if you need us, if you need me, I'll be there. It's you, it always has been and it always will be, and I'm sorry for realizing that too late. I'm sorry for not being able to come back. I know I promised I'd always be by your side, and I will. Although I may not in the best situation to return right now, I promise you I'll see you soon. Take care, -S.R.
Several tears welled up in your eyes and slipped down your face as you closed the letter, staining the paper with dark spots.
"So, what'd he say," Tony took in your watery eyes and hard-set jaw. "Something wrong?"
"...He's on the run," your voice broke, "but they're all out. He broke them out.”
...
170 DAYS LATER
It was almost half a year of Team Cap jumping from motel to motel under different names and disguises every night, while still trying to defend the world as best as they possibly could. And when they were caught, Steve was sure that they'd be sent back.
"He'll come back soon, I'm sure of it," Rhodey reassured you as you watched the news of the search for Captain America was still underway. "When someone loves you the way he does, he's gonna find a way to return."
"He doesn't love me. I'm no better than a monster. And...I'm pretty sure he has heart eyes for Sharon."
"Well, he fucked up on that part," he agreed, clasping your shoulder, "but you know what? In the end, he still loves you. We all saw the way he looked at you back in Germany, he didn't want to hurt you. If he truly cared, he wouldn't hurt you even if you were on the opposing side, and that's what he did. I know he's gonna return: for your sake."
"I don't know why I'm letting myself do this."
"What? Loving him? That isn't anything new."
"New?"
"Sweetheart, I knew from the moment I first saw you look at him that you were. Look, love is worth fighting for, but sometimes you can't be the only one fighting. At times, people need to fight for you. You gotta be vulnerable and let him in your heart. Otherwise you'll keep feeling like you're in pain."
He did return.
You'd gone to trial and defended him under your name two weeks prior. Much to your current oblivion, your persuasion had worked and he was granted release and allowed to return, though he did so under the same strict circumstances given to you as well. He was warned to not pull off something like this a second time, and promise to ask for the government's aid whenever necessary.
So you're not expecting to buzz him and the others in late one Friday night.
"Y/N."
"Nat?"
"Can you buzz us in?"
"Uh...yeah, sure," you nodded, opening the gates to let them through. Within minutes, they were standing right in front of you, looking the exact same as they did five months ago, though the exhaustion was clear in all their faces.
"Greetings, Y/N." The android's arm was slung around Sam's shoulders, who was helping to hold him upright.
"Vision."
"It's good to see you guys, Rhodey greeted.
"t's great to see you too," Wanda smiled. She seemed to have aged a bit since you'd last seen her though she was only a teenager, but still looked much younger than everyone nonetheless.
"Well, you guys really look like crap. Must've been a rough couple of months."
"Yeah, well, the hotels weren't exactly five-star," Sam shrugged. "Where's Clint?"
"After the whole Accords situation, him and Scott took a deal. It was too tough on their families, they're on house arrest," Natasha explained.
She turned to you and gave you a tight hug, squeezing your hand as she pulled away. "Hey. How you holding up?"
"Could be better," you gave her a sad smile. "I'm fine."
"Y/N, hey."
Steve stepped out from behind Wanda and Sam and took a few tentative steps towards you, his feet feeling heavier by the second.
The one man you thought you wouldn't be seeing again for a while was now in front of you, and you weren't sure how to react. Your heartbeat was deafeningly loud in your ears, drowning out the sounds of everything else as everyone fell silent upon seeing you two interact.
"Hey," you responded a few moments later, stuffing your hands in your jacket pockets. You lifted your head slowly, an unrecognizable sort of emotion flickering in your eyes for a brief second before you averted his gaze and looked back down at the ground.
He still looked the same, with his dirty-blonde hair and tall, muscular build, those piercing blue eyes and comforting arms. The sight of him alone made your chest ache and your stomach twist itself into knots at the same time you felt butterflies flying around. You hated that you allowed yourself to care about him so much, that your body still reacted to the sight of him even after not seeing him for so long.
"Uh...we'll give you two a moment," Sam awkwardly cleared his throat, leaving the room with the others.
When you glanced back up again you could see just how much being away had affected his overall appearance: his bright blue eyes that glittered with authority and passion had lost their light, red-rimmed and bloodshot with dark circles underneath that indicated it had been days since he last slept.
"I'm sorry, I know it took a while, but I'm here now. I missed you."
"I missed you, too," you said quietly. You swallowed hard, feeling the familiar sting to your eyes as you struggled to keep your tears at bay.
He sighed and wrapped an arm around you, pulling you close like you'd done to him before all those months ago, gently rubbing your back. Despite the heaviness in your stomach, it still fluttered at the feeling of your body pressed against his and you sunk into his warmth, his touch making the room feel warmer somehow. His arms that held you were soft and comforting, yet strong and firm at the same time, and the feeling of being so close to him was so dizzying to the point it made your head spin. But you didn't want to let go, so you held onto him as tight as you possibly could.
During the time of his absence, when the majority of your days were spent wandering around the compound alone, you taught yourself to ignore the pressing feeling in the back of your head, the way you felt as if there was some void in your heart that could only be filled by him and him alone. Day by day you attempted to convince yourself that no, you weren't falling in love with him, no, you weren't supposed to fall in love with him because it'd only destroy you in the end.
Yet you still did.
Always playing the part of promoting liberty and justice for all, Steve believed his sole purpose was to inspire and empower others to make the world a better place, blending into the mantra of 'a star-spangled man with a plan.' He always planned things out, always knew what he was doing.
So when he realized as he was holding you there in his arms, that he'd fallen in love with you, he didn't have a plan. And frankly, it terrified him.
He didn't have a plan, so he just decided to go with what his gut told him.
Steve brushed a stray hair that fell across your face and tucked it behind your ear. You looked up in surprise, heart hammering against your chest as his thumb brushed ever so gently against your cheek before he leaned down and pressed his lips to yours.
That's all he needed to do in order to eradicate all the anger, all the pent-up frustration and other emotion inside of you, to make you forgive him for every little thing that he's done to break your heart because there was nothing he could possibly do to make you love him any less.
"I love you," you mumbled as you pulled away, resting your head against his broad chest.
"I know. I love you too."

You and your roommate move to New York and open a bookstore with an attached cafe
Tucked away in between two new buildings
The smell of old books and fresh pastries coffee and tea
Ah yess, seeing Steve Rogers
The youngest looking boomer
And Stan Lee would still be alive and he’d be a regular!
You guys have a “wall of heros” you'd take pictures with all the avengers that decide to come in and get something or get a book
Thor would be the first bc he likes the coffee
Thor would enjoy the coffee but he will not be sweet talking his way out of paying for the smashed coffee mug
“ I’m sorry m’ladies ill find a way to fix it “ never actually does
You’d deny Tony a picture bc he didn’t want to take one at first then sees all the avengers Pepper Happy and Fury on the wall and gets jealous
“ Well you hav everyone else but me and thats totally not cool! having me on that wall will make the shop look 10000 times better “
But he low key likes coming to our shop bc you guys have the best apple crumble cake in all of New York
he’d come in like, “I didn’t have time for breakfast so just a coffee and crumble cake” or mumble something about a “last minuet gift for Peter”
On Father’s Day you guys would  write on his to-go cup “#1 at being peter’s dad”
He also just comes at random times at night bc he know one of if not both of you are night owls and always enjoy his company
he secretly enjoys your guys company too but wont admit it
he has your  numbers ( he also has an extra key but he never uses it bc he knows y'all sleep on top of the shop and are low key scary cats so hells always call before h comes )
he had to more like he insisted until you guys gave in  install the best security system to protect your coffee and crumble cake recipe so like he doesn’t even knock but y'all  just have coffee and extra cake set out at odd times of the night for whenever he decides to pop a 3 am visit in his iron man suite
he’d be a the biggest fan of all but also be too proud to admit it. I could see him setting up the cameras and say, “Tony this a very generous gesture, but you don’t need to set this all up.” And he’d just look at y'all  and go, “well it be a shame if some plankton lookin ass waltzed in and stole all of your recipe right?
Oh oh oh
We can’t forget about Bruce
That man lovessssss
Chocolate cake
More so he loves the chocolate raspberry cake you make once a month but you make it weekly just for him he was the second avenger to go on the wall
And we have Clint and his family on our wall but for his sake its actually in y'alls  family photo album you keep in a privet part of the house
His children call you guys aunty and you always make their birthday cakes or any special occasion cake free of charge
“ Hey girls I need a favor “
“ No need were already ahead of you strawberry right? “
Y'all being apart of the family but not a part of the family ya know ?
every once in a while you'd  give them a free coffee and deserts on their birthday
one of you having pun of the day on the chalk wall in the cafe
And you’d have a song of the day on your board on the shops
We low key always play mullet rock or just rock in general bc of Tony
And we have a whole week every month dedicated to the old songs from Steve and Bucky’s decade and thats when they love to come in the most i’m talking like 4 times a day
I can see them dancing when its closing time them helping you clean up
Bucky would try and convince y’all to dance with them “ Come on doll dance with us”
them pestering you guys until y'all give in “ Fine one once dance Steve then you and Bucky have to help us clean the whole shop “
Natasha likes to combine and giver her honest opinion about all the new recipes before we release them always accepting her criticism
“Mhm thats a bit too sweet “
“ blegghh this is your Christmas drink? I would serve this to my enemies good torture weapon “
“ Nat that was so rude “
after each battle, they just come to our shop of chill and unwind
Yesss yes and in the battle of New York they are low key depressed because the shop was ruined ( its actually really close to avengers tower ) and even when you  told them its fine and you guys  would clean up your selves the next day they come back ready to cleanup and rebuild and wont take no for an answer
“ We’re gonna rebuild your shop better than it ever was and for the meantime you  both can live with me at the tower “
“ Tony thats sweet but we can mana-”
“ I wasn’t asking i’m telling you that you don’t have a choice in the matter “
also we can’t forget when Loki first came he actually stopped in your shop and y'all unknowing served him and even gave him human clothes so he can low-key bled in
but thats not what makes him like the shop he likes it because of the books  one of you have on him and the MULTIPLE  papers you’ve  written on why he’s so misunderstood
“ Honestly you can't blame him most of his life he was treated like the bad gu no matter what he did and since thats how people saw him thats what he turned into because no one wanted to see him for him “
but he also likes the shop because and I quote “ your meat pies are absolutely heavenly id eat them all day if I were able to.  “ he came back every day for a month before Thor came to take him back and he was on everyones radar he gave the order to not touch our shop but when he’s captured by the avengers and  they rant about how he destroyed their favorite spot Loki is absolutely  pissed I mean like seething with anger
“ You know you ruined a lot of lives reindeer games like really. The girls shop is in complete rubble because of your daddy issues “
“Excuse me what do you mean their shop was not to be touched “
“ Well brother you are sadly mistaken “
Ohh and when you guys finally meet Peter he was in his spider suit and literally flew straight into your living room window
y'all were in the living room when he did and saw he was bleeding hella bad and made him sit down so you could patch him up
“ look kid I’ m only gonna say this once shut the hell up and sit down you're giving me a headache “
and Tony somehow found out bc he’s got an alert about the living room window so him and the others just come busting down the  door and they’re just like “ PeTER??” And y'all aren’t surprised they know him
“so this is the Peter you've been talking about Tony “
“Mr. Stark you talk me oh! Im sorry about the window I'll pay - “
“ No need Peter, Tony is gonna fix it “ “ WHAT “
you give him some pastries to take on the way home and he comes back everyday after school he talks to you guys about his day and what missions he might be going on
“Mr. Stark is letting me come with him to take down some- “
“ Hey Peter I don’t think you should be taking about that at least not so openly

Hey ho I watched the 2012 Avengers last week but didnt have time to type the analysis up. I also have the IM3 and TTDW coming up next lmao.
I forgot that this movie started with Thanos? Recruiting Loki
Maria Hill deserved to be 1)  a woman of color and 2) in the final battle against Thanos (and like a larger part of the movies across the board but w/e) (also Colbie Smoulders is hot AF)
I disliked the first fight scene where Loki invades SHIELD specifically because of how Loki’s characterized? I feel like its a large jump from where he was at when Thor ended; he felt much more subtle and manipulative than this introduction but I suppose he didn’t have the infinity stone affecting him? and ultimately his attempt to subjugate the earth is an extension of his desire to get revenge on Thor, for the embarrassment of his defeat in Thor. As a follow up, I think him wanting people to kneel is dumb and I hate his horn hat. I get he wants to rule Something because he feels that Asgard, and leading it, his ‘birthright’ was taken from him. But mostly he wants his brother to love him. Like when Thor comes in you can really read this as Loki just wanting to annoy Thor.
I really love that they use the avengers theme in the title card, establishing the musical theme (granted, very unsubtley associating the music with the concept of “the avengers”) but they establish it so quickly and clearly that when we hear it as the avengers assemble in the final battle its use is actually very powerful
I’ll give Whedon that he’s very good at establishing story and character through beats and action rather than dialogue and/or writing dialogue that serves multiple purposes but fuck do i hate how he reduces characters to one trait and utterly removes their complexity in order to make a joke of them (Cap, Thor and Nat are the three prime examples; he reserves complexity for Tony and Bruce).
Like, Cap is a fuddy old dude who calls “language’ or makes jokes about ‘getting that reference’ or quips about there being one god bc haha he doesn’t fit into this time period but like maybe there’s more to that, maybe some trauma you’d like to explore Whedon? You just don’t like Cap, do you?
Like, Cap becomes the “follow orders” guy and he really just is Not? He blatantly defies orders because its the right, moral thing to do and he’s only risking himself by doing it so why does Whedon think Cap would blindly follow Fury and SHIELD?
But he’s good at storytelling without going “HERE’S THE BACKSTORY” (i particularly like how Cap is established through his conversation with Fury in the gym, where Steve punches the bag and then has SIX extra punching bags ready to hang when he inevitably breaks them, or taking one with him when Fury recruits him. Like this angry punching the bag does indicate some complexity that cap has, but it gets ignored later for dumb jokes. but this is a joke with layers) and obviously a lot of this is the actors playing the characters too (like the Natasha/Bruce recruitment scene). its the word choice and subtle moves the characters make.
On a similar note, the suits feel like this too. Steve’s suit is so funny and old school, I can’t believe its real.
Related, I like the mini fight between Cap, Tony, and Thor, where they learn and establish power sets, and the Boys ability to fight together, which is followed through in the end of this film but like used to its full potential against Thanos in Endgame. They just, work well together and its their separation in Infinity War that leads to their loss (I think).
I like Pepper but you can feel Whedon’s sexism bleeding through her existence in this film. I just feel uncomfortable by how he writes her.
This follows to Nat. Because I want Nat and Barton’s story; their fight and chemistry is really good and like she has every right to have her own film and get the “red in her ledger” past explored but in AoU Whedon reduces this woman who clearly has a complex past and connection to her actions down to “I can’t have babies and am therefore a monster” rather than explore the complexity of her actions as an assassin. Like, the conversation between Loki and Nat in Avengers sets up a wonderfully complex woman who only gets her time of day in like a five minute conversation before she commits suicidE? and in a movie that likely wont get the attention it deserves because it will come out after her death? But her desire to wipe out the red in her past by saving Barton is a thread that goes right to that fight on Vormir, which i would nOT be upset about except for the actual context that surrounds the moment; Nat sees herself as a monster because she’s infertile (AoU) and Barton has much more recently been actively a monster, straight up murdering PoC for no good reason?
You can feel that this movie did not know where the franchise would go - they’re so afraid of using thanos or his lore; like they could have used Proxima Midnight or one of the other Children of Thanos to be the liason between Loki and Thanos but they didn’t. it would have been a good way to establish them before Infinity War, but their exclusion and some of the other ways things are discussed (infinity Stones) really indicate a lack of forethought (whether thats because it wasn’t promised a sequel, let alone like 18 more interlinked films or because Whedon will Whedon idk)
And in this, I was trying to follow the Steve v Tony arc and it is just so inconsistent; their motives waver so much.
Phil has a big fat crush on Steve and its so funny they think he’s straight
And I thought Selvig was already under Loki’s control so why does that happen again here?
Dislike that the Staff (mind stone) and Tesseract (Space Stone) are blue rn. its confusing
Selvig, Barton, and Loki....like not good acting chief lmao
But Tom Hiddleston with the Loki hair in suits...mmm Hot.
I hate Tony and his dumb quips.
I like a lot of lines, but wish they were said by other characters; they’re either all profound af or a dumb quip.
My sister says: “Thors arms are fucking fantastically amazing” and I thoroughly agree. I want him to hold me.
“Steve is not dumb but Whedon makes him dumb” is a note I made verbatim and I like it.
Why is Clint not worried about his family and Loki knowing bc Loki had been so deep in his head?
The heroes have power that are just a lot /more/ than in later films. Like, thor takes out whole Chitauri ships and he can’t kill thanos or needs Captain Marvel to do so in Endgame? I just...
Whedon is good at placing the audience on the ground and understanding the horror and fear a person might feel at actually being present at the invasion; it frames the story through the humanity of the bystanders rather than the superhuman heroes and it helps us venerate them as symbols and icons rather than as people. Its an interesting tactic to frame the fight and how we view the Avengers. Its kinda sad that this is lost when we move forward in the films, but it also gets tiring when Whedon does this (it reveals he’s a one trick pony, especially with how it manifests in Justice League). But i like the montage of people after the battle.
I like the old man standing against Loki and Cap comparing it to the last time he was in Germany, and yet it feel like a reduction of the true harm that actual Nazi’s did? idk it feels right but saying Loki is like hitler/red skull feels reductive, especially because Loki has no fascist rhetoric backing up his actions. It removes hitler from an ideology, painting him almost as just a bad guy without a lasting ideology that is still real.

avengers endgame spoiler-filled review
below the cut bc spoilers obviously
even after two viewings this movie is super overwhelming so I’m just gonna jump right in
- clint’s family disappearing was so haunting and traumatic omg
- i didn’t like the music choice over the marvel opening crawl
- nebula was so adorably intense when tony playing footbal with her
- carol is such a bad bitch she just carried an entire fucking ship through space
- steve running up to tony and holding on to him... that was content I didn’t know I needed
- the pepperony hug ughhh I’m not a huge gwenyth paltrow fan but she was so good as pepper in this
- honestly I get tony has been through a lot but he was such a dick back at the avengers compound. I’ve always preferred steve to tony and that scene really displayed why. Yes tony was right something bigger was coming, but his way of going about preventing it was proven wrong both times. I don’t consider ultron to be super canon because joss whedon sucks but tony’s first idea to try and solve it failed, and then the accords also failed and even rhodey regretted it. Infinity war was basically “hey yeah the accords was dumb af and steve was right and now the avengers are scattered.” Both tony and steve were selfish and made mistakes in civil war but the fact that it had been over three years and tony was still soooo angry with steve and holding a grudge just rubbed me the wrong way.
- I really felt for thor when they went to get thanos. Chris hemsworth’s acting in that scene was so good when he realized they had failed
- again who on earth put steve in charge of a support group. And while yes its nice to have some lgbtq representation marvel is way behind on that so to me it did not feel like enough
- paul rudd did so well in this movie and scott is such a good dad ugh
- 10/10 would die for morgan stark. She is soooo cute and it was hilarious when she was like “mom told me to come rescue you”
- i know a lot of people are mad at tony dying bc he could have “retired” but that scene with his daughter before steve, nat, and scott show up shows he could not. He still had a garage where he built iron man suits and suits for pepper. That’s not what someone does when they are out of a fight. That’s why he fell back into it so fast because he never left it. He was still tinkering and preparing and even when he retired he was still fully ready to go back
- i like professor hulk but at the same time i miss bruce
- tony and steve love each other so much it made me so happy when tony showed up at the compound. they’ve had their differences but there is real love there
- speaking of real love I will still never forgive joss whedon for taking clintasha away from us like yes their platonic friendship is great but UGH. They love each other SOOOOOOO much
- tom hiddleston as loki always steals the show and i miss him so much. I was convinced he wasnt dead so I’m sad that he was still dead in the current timeline. But maybe since there is now an alternate dimension with loki and the tesseract he will show up again
- him impersonating steve, his side eye, just... *chefs kiss*
- the america’s ass comment... amazing, iconic, beautiful. And then steve’s “yeah I know” comment to his 2012 self. I’m so glad the russos let steve be funny
- I love how much winter soldier played into this one especially since it was the russo’s first mcu movie. The elevator scene... steve outsmarting the hydra agents. Secretary pierce showing up... and then steve fighting his past self was just *chefs kiss* again. The fact that he knows his own weakness is bucky and uses it against himself
- not excited to see tilda swinton’s character because its just a reminder of marvel’s whitewashing but I appreciated it trying to explain the timeline/dimension stuff
- i also loved that at the army compound tony was able to get closure with his dad, something he deserved for a long time. I think that was another hint he was going to die because his arc was completing while steve’s.... the look on steve’s face when he saw peggy just broke me. absolutely broke me. Steggy was my first ship in the mcu and so steve and peggy hold a special place in my heart. The fact she still keeps the picture of tiny steve after all these years (a reference to agent carter)... they both moved on enough to enjoy life but never truly moved on enough to leave the other behind. And so while tony was getting closure, steve was being reminded of what he wanted most and couldn’t have. I also loved the tie in with agent carter and showing Jarvis this movie was truly a fan service to us all
- okay so rhodey/nebula: so ive never been a huge nebula person but i really liked her in this movie. I loved rhodey’s line about “you work with what you got” as far as their disabilities. I felt so bad for new nebula because old nebula SUCKKSSS and I hate she had to face her. I loved that in this movie thanos was wearing his armor because 2014 thanos was not as strong or secure with himself. His energy was SO different compared to the thanos we saw in infinity war so props to josh brolin
- natasha/clint: Well go ahead and rip my heart out. The audience knows only one of them is coming back but they have no idea. And they love each other SO FUCKING MUCH they both tried to sacrifice themselves to save the other person. That is true love. Jeremy renner is such an underrated actor and his reaction to natasha dying just killed me. But so did scarlett johansson’s acting as much as I hate to admit it because I’ve really stopped liking her as much due to her recent acting choices but she played that scene so well. And I will miss natasha romanoff forever. She deserved so much more and paved the way for all the other female superheroes in the mcu
- everyone crying over nat and especially steve broke me. They had such a special friendship, almost as strong as her and clint and I feel so many people forget that because of how natural they were together. And her last words to him were that she would see him in a minute and then she didn’t come back..
- i just realized i havent talked about thor and thats honestly because my brain blocked it out. I like that they explored his depression but dont like that he was made the joke of the avengers and I don’t think it was handled well. I did enjoy his conversation with frigga and by that I mean it made me cry. (also loki deserves a conversation like that too don’t @ me)
- STEVE WIELDS MJOLNIR!!! IT WAS SO BADASS AND MY DREAM COME TRUE I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE EXCITED IN A MOVIE. To me that was the absolute highlight of the movie
- And then sam says “on your left” and all the characters come and the music... poetic cinema
- thanos is a weak little bitch and as soon as wanda was beating him he was fine with his own troops dying just so he could get away
- TONY AND PETER REUNITING CURED MY DEPRESSION AND THEN GAVE IT RIGHT BACK
- CAROL IS SO POWERFUL MY LESBIAN QUEEN
- sebastian stan has no business looking this good my god
- I forgot how much I missed peter parker
- I didn’t notice mbaku until my second viewing and honestly the wakandan characters were shafted like poor shuri we didn’t even know she was dusted until a few weeks before the movie
- I know everyone loves the scene of all the women characters carrying the gauntlet but honestly marvel has a long way to go before they reach equality and it honestly wasn’t enough for me
- side note pepper fighting back to back with tony was awesome
- ugh tony’s face when he realizes what he has to do and he looks at strange for confirmation... give rdj an oscar like my god. He knows that the past few years have led up to this moment and he is absolutely terrified and determined and I am tearing up while writing this because I am remembering it so vividly
- peter parkers goodbye had me crying why is tom holland such a good actor
- pepper’s goodbye BROKE ME... “you can rest now” I think that is the epitome of tony’s arc. For his entire storyline he has been trying to right his wrongs and save his friends and the world and that is so much for one man to carry on his shoulders and everyone knew it would be the death of him. I know tony stans are pissed off that he died, but I don’t see him just being able to retire. Obviously I didn’t want him to die, but his whole storyline has been leading up to this. He truly got a hero’s sendoff and was solidified as THE hero of the mcu. This era started with him and it ended with him. It was a beautiful sendoff for the character that started it all. And I don’t think rdj would go along with it if he didn’t approve
- Steve’s ending.... so I knew from spoilers what would happen and while it was something I wanted in theory I was pissed when I first found out. But it somehow worked. If you look at steve’s arc, he has always been a man out of time. For everyone getting mad he was hung up on a girl he kissed once, it’s pretty much confirmed in agent carter that he and peggy were on the DL for 3 years. she wasnt just a crush he knew for a few months. They loved each other and fought side by side for three years and time took him too soon. In age of ultron the only part I liked was steve’s vision where he gets a dance with peggy. As much as he moved on in the present, the possibility he missed with her always haunted him. You can tell in peggy’s video in the winter solider that even though she married and had kids, the thought of steve still gets her choked up. When she sees him as an old woman she immediately crumbles. They both have referred to each other as the loves of their lives.
- So with that said, I don’t think it’s weird or out of the blue that he would suddenly decide to try and go back to peggy. They won, bucky is back and safe, sam is back and safe, he can finally rest, and he has the tools to go back in time. The way I interpreted it, Bucky 100% knew what he was going to do. The look on his face, the tone of his voice. He knew Steve was not coming back, and he also knew he deserved to have that happy ending. So while sam and bruce thought it would only be 5 seconds, bucky turned away from the machine, knowing steve wouldn’t show up there. I ship stucky too because I just want steve happy so while at first I was like “how could he leave bucky??” watching it on screen it made sense. Bucky approved of his choice, and while he was saddened by it, he understood it.
- In my interpretation, I don’t think steve stayed in the main timeline. I think him going back created an alternate timeline where he married peggy, dissolved hydra earlier, and freed bucky earlier. At some point, those two timelines merged, and he wandered over to where he knew they would be. OR after peggy died, he used the technology to travel back to that timeline when he was old. Or my friend suggested he could have met tony stark in his alternate timeline and asked for his help. Who knows. He literally came back with a shield, meaning he was at one point captain america again in that timeline. I don’t think there is anyway he could just stay quiet for 70 years about bucky being tortured and peggy running shield that was secretly hydra. I refuse to believe that. If the russos come out and say that’s what he did, then I’ll backtrack and say I don’t approve of steve’s ending. But as of right now I’m okay with it.

hi there, just saw in the tags that you didn‘t like endgame. would you like to expand on that? i am curious to know other people‘s perspective. personally, i liked it. it has flaws, yes, but to me it was enjoyable. if you don‘t feel like answering, that is fine :) have a great day!
oh wow. you really wanna know? okay, but on your own head be it. :o
i’m just joking, i’ll go easy, or at least give you the digest (a vicious lie) version. if you want to see the full extent of my derision and vitriol, you can go to @lowkeysebastianstan, which is the blog where i’ve tried to limit this too. but to give you the not at all short and not so sweet of it, here goes. (endgame spoilers obviously).
the first thing that really set me off was the ending, more precisely, what steve did. it made absolutely no sense whatsoever, and hit me closer to home than most of my followers here since bucky and steve are my fave characters, and the only ship i really have. now, i never thought stucky would become canon, not even a little, i didn’t even hope for it. sure, the representation would’ve been awesome, but there’s no way marvel could’ve done it justice, so it was just as well it was never gonna happen. what i hadn’t prepared for was to what extreme extent they were terrified of the ship and the effect it would have if they were to let it be even a hint that could be interpreted as some emotional connection between them, for 3 films they’re built bucky up as the most important character in steve’s life, he’s risked his own life to save him, he basically eradicated hydra during wwii fueled by grief for him, he was prepared to die for him in tws, he fought his friends and gave up everything for him in cacw, and then he just? leaves? to be with a woman who died of old age and natural causes after a long fulfilling life with another man and family of her own. who specifically told him to fucking move on in tws? yeah, sure. and do not get me wrong, i adore sam wilson, after bucky, and the real steve rogers, he is by far my fave in the cap verse (saving a few spots for my bp and cm peeps in the mcu, but we’ll get to them), and he is the superior choice to pick up the mantle, no doubt about it. (okay, a little doubt, they teased sebastian with that shield for 8 years, they based bucky on the brubaker storyline where he becomes cap, and so i do feel a little torn bc no matter how happy he must be for his friend, and him and mackie are good friends, he must be a little disappointed? but who knows, maybe they’ll do something with that in the series, which would be stupid af bc that would negate the positive leap in representation, and mackie deserves it too, so who the fuck knows, i’ll probably not be around to keep track anyways, and can you tell im rambling), but for steve’s last words to be to sam? while bucky stands and watch in the background? like??? i could go on in (more excruciating) detail, but that was why i linked the blog, there might be a point or two about this on there.
but that was just the start. all through the movie i felt disconnected and uneasy, they made some really weird choices, but i don’t think it was until nat took the plunge that i knew i had an absolute dud on my hands.
the mcu has done a lot of things right, but their treatment of women is NOT one of them. and oh boy did they go out with a bang. first is the obvious implication, he got to live bc he had “more to live for”, and she didn’t have a family, and ye gods we know she can’t have kids, so why should she live?
(see, if the bw movie wasn’t in the books, i’d completely get it, if it was to give scarjo her life back, and she wanted nat to be good and dead, sure. actually, when i first watched it, that’s what i thought tbh, that the bw movie was cancelled, so. but it’s not, so she will return. and since that the case it’s just fucked up that they yeeted her off the roster. and sure, some of the bw movie was always gonna be set in the past, but tbh? i don’t see much point in prequels for dead characters, you know that whatever happens won’t affect the outcome for the character at all, and i usually find them completely void of meaning. that might just be me though). and of course the fact that she died the same way gamora went didn’t help. (gamora’s death was maybe the single worst thing in aiw, she was fridged, not for the advancement of one man, but for two (thanos and quill) and it.just.shouldn’t.have.worked.thanos.cannot.love! again, mcu and women? not a good match.)
then of course, it comes back to steve and how much he doesn’t give a crap about the people close to him in the present, we never see him care or grieve for anyone but peggy, and he could barely spare two tears for nat before it was all business again. and the rest of the team? i think clint cared a little, and banner threw a chair, but that was it. no memorial, not burial, no nothing, it was like she never existed, and she died saving the world just as much as tony, he couldn’t have done jack shit without the soul stone.
and speaking of women, shuri and okoye? before the trailer dropped i was sure shuri was in this, that we’d get to see her lead in her brother’s stead. i actually did a short lament on this already, here.
carol was terribly underused, after all the oompf about her being there she was barely a blip. but the haircut was fantastic, and the best part of the movie was when she returned at the end.
then there’s nebula and gamora (again). at first i was actually quite pleased that they sort of found a loophole to bring gamora back, but then i thought about it (yes, sometimes i get seduced by the flashy colours too) and yeah. sure. a gamora is there, but she’s void of all the things that makes her interesting and all her development is just gone, everything “our” gamora achieved and experienced is gone, three films worth of arc is worthless. so what then is the point of getting “her” back? i don’t care about this person, i don’t know her. are we gonna see quill just harass her the next film, bc you know, she’s been with him, so why shouldn’t he expect her to just do that now? tbh i wouldn’t be surprised, but now that gunn is back maybe he can save it? not that i’ll be around to keep track though.
then nebula. nvm that time paradox, that’s a whole other fuckfest i’ll get back to, but we had to get to see her get killed too, didn’t we. by her sister, the only person in the world she loves. fucking fantastic, i cannot control my enthusiasm.
and no, cool as it was, the a-force surrounding parker is not enough to bring this home. it was a cool sight though. (see? i can see the good.)
then of course it’s peggy. a woman he knew for a few months back during the war. (sure they knew each other longer, but i’d say, even if you’re very generous, they can’t have spent more than a couple of months in each other’s company, and they kissed once). who they stripped of all character development and autonomy so that steve could go back and get his “damce”. everything she achieved, every good thing that happened to her, her husband, her family, her advancement in shield, all gone. bc steve must have his happy ending, no matter that she told him to move the fuck on in tws, who cares.
and then there’s sharon. yeah, they forgot about her, didn’t they. i mean, i was never really on board with that, the whole aunt/niece thing was a bit too weird for me, and this was way before i shipped stucky, but that doesn’t matter. bc they did that, they had them kiss within days after peggy’s death (oooh, look how he cared for peggy), making it clear that this was the beginning of something. (also marvel and several of the actors treated emily like crap, oh yeah, i remember, doesn’t help either.)
(gods i said this would be short, didn’t i? imagine if i could’ve spent all the words i’ve spent ranting about endgame on my latest chapter? good grief.)
then there’s their so called lgbt representation. 30 seconds of a character that had a total of 60 sconds of screentime in tws lamenting his dead lover? well. i. they wanted credit for that. i just.
then there’s thor. they negated every ounce of development he had in ragnarok, this also goes for aiw, wasn’t happy about that, and made him completely ooc, he just spends his time drinking ab\nd playing fortnite of all things? bold of them to assume that will still be a thing in 5 years, but also? thor? THOR? neglecting his people? his friends? the world? thor? then they of course made him fat, haha, so they could add fat-shaming to the list while they make light and fun of his drinking problems, his grief and his ptsd. awesome. the funniest.
then there’s clint. that they just randomly made a killer? just, like a straight up murderer? okay then. and still nat deserved to die. excellent.
then there’s banner. okay, i don’t think they fucked him up as bad as the others, but it’s still strange he would risk his intelligence to become hulk full time, but you do you.
rocket and rhodey were the best things about this damn disaster, just putting it out there.
then there’s tony. i mean, we knew he was the main protagonist, and im not objecting that, (even if i think it’s really strange he’d be born in 1970) but idk. that was strange’s plan? all that for that? and pepper just went, eh what the hell, just die, i can raise this kid you wanted. (i know, i know, she’s her mom, she cares), but it was just so flat. and idk. i mean, rdj wanted his life back, just as evans, but i’d want to see that switched, that tony get to retire and steve sacrifice himself to save the world. tony could still be the deciding factor in strange’s plan even if steve delivered the coup de grace. at least he cared enough to show an emotion™when peter came back, which was more than steve bothered with. jfc they fucked up steve.
then there’s the time travel. okay, a few things about the 2012 thing. they put him in the elevator, and then, instead of having him just kick the crap out of the agents, they reference hydra!cap? the biggest shitstorm in the comics in the last two decades? like what the actual fuck? then of course there’s the americas ass thing, which, again, that’s steve, cares about his ass but not his friends! (but at least 2012 steve cares about bucky, maybe he’ll save him a couple of years early, back to the future steve will just live out his life knowing bucky is getting tortured somewhere in siberia, good times.) oh! and i guess they have their loophole to get loki back too, great, they’ll probably just forget that he’s not in the main timeline, bc who cares.
and the fun just keeps coming with the time travel. oh they tried with some crap explanation that no one can make sense of, but here’s the kicker. they can’t either, they don’t even want to try, they don’t even agree with each other.
Tumblr media
+ +
how did they know to meet up in wakanda or wherever, the dustees? did strange send a memo? not just the ppl in the soul realm or wherever they were, but all the others too, like valkyrie and hope. time and place just magically popped into their heads? and what happened when they all came back? or some came back, bc obviously a shit ton of ppl died at the dusting, like the pilot of a 747 gone? plane goes down and such, ppl really dead. and where do they reappear? where they disappeared? aka those passengers that got dusted comes back mid flight? fun! and what about the ones that moved on in their absence? what happens to the ones that come back when their wives and husbands are remarried, when there’s no place for them in their old lives. did all of peter’s classmates get dusted, or did the rest of the class graduate without him, i must assume that all of those in s:ffh did, otherwise some would be in college by now, yeah?
and that’s another reason their watertight time travel is leaky af, there’s no way to get the logistics to work. the only option as such would have been to go back to 2018 and fix it, to reset time, bc otherwise there are just too many holes, it’s just not possible. but they can’t do that bc then they’ll undo all the things that happen in the future that the characters don’t want to lose, like tony’s kid.
oh, i know, it’s a superhero movie, but im strange like that, i expect a modicum of internal logic in all my movies, the bitch that i am.
okay, im gonna leave it there, ive run out of steam, and i want to gif a set. there’s a few things more, but i think you’ve gotten the gist, that i’m not a fan of this movie and a short (lol, so sorry, nothing is ever digest with me, i should’ve warned you) list of reasons why. honestly this is the first time i’ve really don’t a more general account, ive pretty much stuck to steve and that crapshute, there’s a lot of other blogs that concentrate on the other characters, i’d list a few, but i don’t have it in me rn, pop me a msg if you’re interested, also if you’re interested in some real meta, this rambling rant isn’t something that people should be exposed to honestly.
avengers: endgame was a shit movie and no amount of “he’s worthy” and “avengers assemble” is going to fix that, BUT if you enjoyed it, i don’t think less of you, obviously everyone is different, and i envy the hell out of you, i sorely wish i could’ve liked it too. the russos directed what is by far the best movie in the mcu imo, tws, and they had us all fooled, even if we probably should’ve seen it coming after iron man 4: civil war.
hope you’re having a spectacular day, sorry you had to read this if you did, and and thank you for making mine better, i really had a rant in me needing out. (you’d think i’d run out of hate for this by now, but nah.)
Tumblr media
thank you for the ask :)

I went to see the movie and honestly? I hated it. (Buckle up bc this is gonna be like a 10 part ask) First: Tony my sweet baby you didn’t deserve that. Honestly I loved that he finally got to marry Pepper and had Morgan, but the ending just made that meaningless to me. Morgan and Pepper while they had some really cute moments, didn’t serve much purpose to the plot at all other than make Tony’s death sadder. AKA they used his family as a way to manipulate the audience, which is not cool. 1/?
I loved Morgan and I love Pepper, but they could have removed them from the film and it wouldn’t have made much difference other than Tony making that choice faster. It was a cheap way to make us even sadder that he died and I hated it. If a character serves no other purpose than that then you’re doing something wrong. Also, as I understand it, in the comics he wore the gauntlet and didn’t die, so WTF?? Also that moment when he finally snaps at Steve for CACW was ultimately disappointing No one took his pain seriously and was disregarded as him being half dead, starved and delusional. AND Steve didn’t even apologise for his fuck up. They just wanted to get the fans that are mad at CACW and AOU mollified without actually having anyone acknowledge what happened. Gross. And the fact that Tony had to be the bigger man?? I love that my son is healing but it still isn’t right. (I could go on for hours about this, so let’s move on for now) Second: Thor. I’ll admit I didn’t really feel anything for his character until Ragnarok, when I officially adopted him and Loki (who they did so dirty in IW, but let’s not touch that right now). They erased all his character development and made him the butt of fat jokes and did not acknowledge the fact that he was probably dealing with severe depression and PTSD. But hey he got fat so let’s laugh at him! Ugh, it was painful to see what they did to him Also I just can’t get around my head that he wouldn’t be out there helping his people, and instead stayed eating junk food and beer for years (and would most likely have gained weight because he didn’t have to be as physically active as before). Thor at his very core isn’t that, he would have kept going for what was left of Asgard, he would have lead his people instead of leaving them to their devices. And the end?? He wouldn’t have left New Asgard to go traveling through space with the Guardians, that made 0 sense and I stand by this point, HE WOULDN’T HAVE LEFT THE ASGARDIANS, not even leaving Valkyrie in charge, he just wouldn’t have. That whole thing was stupid and probably a way to set up a new Thor movie and I’m not buying it. Also the fact that Steve could lift Mjolnir and that meant he had Thor’s powers?? That’s not how it works?? It is stated in Ragnarok that the Hammer was just a way for Thor to channel his powers, not that the hammer gave him powers, just no. Also him getting Mjolnir back was completely unnecessary and just proves even more how they didn’t care for Thor’s development in previous movies. Bruce: He felt off the entire movie, gave me the creeps. Clint: They made him a racist serial killer vigilante and then they just never mentioned it again?? Was that necessary?? If I didn’t like him before now I like him even less. Nat: I felt her characterisation was good this movie. Then they ruined it by using her as a catalyst for man pain. I don’t like her but she deserved better than that. Nebula: I actually liked her this movie, nothing bad to say here (or if there’s anything I haven’t realised it yet) Steve: I’ll admit I’ve hated him ever since AoU and even more after CACW, I can’t stand him, the salty fics where he get owned are my favourites and I haven’t been able to read any fics where he gets anything remotely like happy ending in years, I shy away from every movie that he has been in, I spent all the movie rolling my eyes whenever he spoke (except for the “I know I know” part because that was hilarious. But even so I don’t agree with what they did to his character in the movie. I hate but I still know what his values are, and Steve wouldn’t have done that, ever. He basically erased all of Peggy’s family from existence, putting himself above others, when the very core of his character is that he doesn’t do that! For me it was just bad and lazy writing. Also the fact that he spoke like 7 words to Bucky in the whole movie was just ??? This isn’t Steve Rogers, I don’t know who this is but it’s not him. Besides that a big thing in his character arcs is him adapting to the XXI century and stating that he isn’t the man he was before he went into the ice!! Erased his character development completely (there are several posts expanding on why the end they gave him is bullshit, there are more reasons than the ones I pointed out) Scott: He was alright. Then every other character that appeared was just there for the fanservice and it showed. Peter was there to make Tony’s death sadder, T’Challa and Shuri and Okoye and all the Wakandans were there because they had to have them there for the final battle, they could have exchanged them for other characters and it wouldn’t have changed a single fucking thing. Same with all the women that appeared in the final battle only, they were there because they couldn’t not have them there, and the scene with all of them was cool but in hindsight it didn’t serve much purpose and was a lazy way to try to make us forget that they’ve never given a single fuck about MCU women. But hey! We had the Wakandans and a scene with all the MCU ladies together!! We can’t possibly be racist or sexist right? It was hollow and it falls apart if you start to think about it even a little. Also the whole time travel rules they explained in such a convoluted way?? And then they didn’t even follow their own time travel rules??? That was just lazy writing to get the characters to fuck with the timeline as much as they wanted without having to worry about any ripple effects through the timeline continuity. Terrible And LGBT+ rep was badly executed and very disappointing. I’m sure there are things I’m forgetting, but at least all of those things make it a terrible movie for me. They did all the characters so dirty. (I’ll never forgive them for this, specially for what they did to Tony)
WELL THAT WAS DEFINITELY A LONG ASK but I am so glad you got that out of your chest my dude!!!!!
I don’t agree with everything you’ve said, I’ll start there.
I am a BIG natasha fan so this movie really really did great work with her and while her death hurt me, it is the ONE death I can see myself coming to terms with because if she had to go? That was the way to do it. That’s the Nat I know and love; she chose how she went out and she chose to do it for everyone. She has always been a character craving redemption for her past, and an escape - she wanted a new chance. And while she did not get a happy ending she did good in the world. She atoned and she found as much peace as was permitted in her story. Also let’s not forget she was the one LEADING the avengers when Steve fucked off for 5 yrs because reasons.
I also don’t think the women in the film were there for fanservice. It IS important to see these badass women fighting, because that’s how it starts. That’s how we get representation. They all had a purpose and a role; they all have a story to tell. As for Pepper she exists completely outside of Tony. Yes it hurts us more because now he doesn’t have his family - but Pepper has been such an integral part of the Iron Man narrative, not as a plot device but rather as her own woman with her own thoughts and goals - that her being in endgame made perfect sense. She and Tony have the single strongest and likely most healthy relationship in the shitshow that is the MCU - there is a level of love and devotion there not seen anywhere else.
Yes Bruce was definitely off - they tried to dumb him down to show just how utterly necessary Tony was in saving their asses, which I can appreciate, but it still felt very very off. The whole jockey thing didn’t work for me.
And yup 100% what they did with Thor hurt me deep inside my soul. Like… it was just not right man.
Also yes the LGBT+ rep promised sucked ass like WOW queerbaiting 101 my dudes!! Are we really back to that!?!?!?!?
As for the rest of things - like I said I don’t agree on everything but it would take me too long to write that all out so I will say this: I REALLY hope you feel better because trust me I am on the same boat of feeling bitter and sad and just unable to see the things that were good in the movie. So yeah I hope getting it out of your chest helped :)

More Endgame Musing (spoilers obviously)
- not enough Captain Marvel, but I get that she’s kinda...deus ex machina. at least they cut her hair.
- so no one thought to check on thor for five whole years huh? not buying it. also fat jokes aren’t funny. but! when he suits up again? that hair? the braided beard? DAMN.
- i STILL don’t understand the time travel bullshit and tbh it feels a little bit like they went that route just bc you can kinda...do whatever you want with that...idk. i had a moment of disappointment where i was like ‘time travel are you serious rn’ but it was fun. i appreciated the scenes from past movies a lot.
- speaking of, LOKI!! LOKI LOKI LOKI also i choose to believe thor didn’t so much as look at his brother bc it would hurt too much and he was too emotionally fragile to handle that on top of having to see Jane and his mother
- i can’t talk about tony or i’ll cry. nothing destroys me more than someone telling the person they love that it’s okay to die. like. pepper telling him that they’d be okay, and tony wasn’t even...tony. he was that far gone already. just staring. only thing he said was pepper’s name. GREAT I MADE MYSELF CRY
- N A T A S H A. i know clintasha isn’t a thing but my clintasha feels were still all over the place. i KNEW they were gonna argue about who it had to be and the idea that Clint and Nat have been through SO MUCH together that he’s willing to sacrifice seeing his family again just so she can keep the family she found? fuck! also a+ on the Clint upgrade, the hair + tattoos were a nice touch and he also had more of a personality that he has so far.
- girl squad in the final battle was nice. i can’t even imagine what that would have meant to little-kid me tbh.
- i really liked Steve up until the end. i just can’t get behind him staying in the past. also kinda pissed that peggy was just...there. silent. like she was steve’s ~prize~ for everything he had endured. don’t like it. also did he and Bucky like, talk to each other? at all? all the past movies bucky has been his focus and then when they FINALLY have the peace and quiet and time to like...catch up and process shit, cap just...peaces out back to the 40’s. okay. and this isn’t even a ship thing, it’s a ‘this choice feels WILDLY ooc given cap’s character development’ thing. anyway. not a fan. also can he like...age? i don’t remember what all the super serum does
- Sam!Cap, though, that’s cool - although I kinda like the idea of Sam and Bucky trading the Cap mantle back and forth, like in that one comic someone did
- tbh i’m still imagining all the ways loki can come back
- cap with mjolnir was excellent, his little ‘hail hydra’ moment was cool, also the “i can do this all day” - “yeah yeah i know”
- tbh everything about them interacting with the 2012 avengers timeline was pretty great
- NEBULA. god, I loved her in this movie. her becoming part of the team and then having that so sharply contrasted with who she used to be, loved it
- god I hate Thanos and his fucking dudebro - who -won’t - shut - up - in - the - philosophy - 101 - lecture ass i am SO glad I got to see him die twice
- there’s probably more but that’s just what’s been going through my head today

avengers endgame reaction (spoilers!!!)
**if youre on mobile scroll fast bc idk if the keep reading works
holy shit holy shit fuck fuck fuck
i am an emotional wreak right now
ahhhhh it was so good im crying still
tony fucking stark my heart i guess ill start there
tony stark i love you three thousand. he got his happy ending with morgan and pepper for 5 years they had 5 years together and he knew that the time heist (lol) would jeopardize that and he still went and helped
that scene where he had it out with steve at the beginning fuck my heart was breaking and i was crying .
i cried a lot in this movie. legit sobbing when nat died but ill get to that
that scene was everything i wanted it to be and perfectly executed. of course hes angry and lashing out because they were supposed to do it together and lose together and the emotion behind that ughh rdj killed it
he literally hands steve his heart the arch reactor
tony and howard ugh everything with them together. tony got closure with his dad
everything tony was great.
steve
he got his happy ending. he got his dance with peggy (now im crying again) fuck. and he PICK UP MJOLNIR omg that scene was amazing and everything i never dreamed could happen when the hammer started moving ughhhh omg i was cheering so loud in the theatre and i dont normally do that. that whole scene ugh theres so much to react to
and he got to say assemble.
ok now from the beginning.
i started to cry literally before it even started. the screen was black and i was already tearing up but when clint and his daughter came up and then his family disappeared i was full on crying.
carol coming in clutch and saving tony and nebula yessss
steve and tony’s conversation right when he gets off the ship was everything i wanted it to be. (crying again) everything.
when they go to thanos’s house thing and thor chops off his arm . its what ive been saying they shouldve done on titan
and then he went for the head!
five.......
years later
fuck them. literally when the ‘five’ came up i was like no no no dont you dare do it dont you dare and then they did it. fuck them
five fucking years?!?! they made them live through 5 years of that trauma?!?!?
nat was everything in this film. she became the leader and keeping track of everything and her moment of breaking down was just so human. she couldnt move on in those 5 years and it just shows how much the avengers had become her family.
scott and cassie omg cassie all grown up made me so emotional
tony and morgan i love you three thousand she is the cutest and sweetest thing
tony fucking stark figured out time travel. he did that.
when tony gives steve his shield back my heart could not take it
the scenes where they were trying to pinpoint the exact time to go back and it was like a sleepover sesh and all the domestic avenger fanfics
going back a little bit
clint killing all the people that should have been killed and deserved to be killed and being a total badass showing up all those people who said he was just really good with an arrow and every scene he has with nat.
‘dont give me hope’
thor. oh where to start. he really did lose everything and he was blaming himself for all that happened so i get where hes coming from. every time you could see him remembering and tormenting himself about what happened broke me. his scene with his mother (crying again)
also hulk/bruce was an interesting choice (not a huge fan of it but ok)
the time traveling
everything about the new york scenes were amazing. the aftermath of the end of the avengers, loki turning into cap for a second, seeing rumlow and sitwell come out, steve getting into the elevator and channeling that winter soldier energy (i was slapping my sister on the arm so hard at this part) hail hydra and outsmarting them all. cap fighting cap “i can do this all day” lmao i was dying ‘bucky is alive” again dying they really nailed it with this. i was worried beforehand because like it would change how we would see the og avengers but i still think it works
also can talk about how tony (and scott) was checking out steves ass????
“i forgot how that suit did nothing for you ass” (be still my heart) “i like to think of it at america’s ass” (or whatever the line was)
loki getting away with the tesseract (is that in this timeline im confused about that hopefully someone will explain bc does that mean loki is alive in this timeline or not? lol)
them going back to the 1970s (do you trust me? i do) and tony meeting howard and introducing himself as howard potts. again i know i talked about howard and tony already but i loved their scenes. and JARVIS FROM AGENT CARTER MAKING AN APPEARANCE OMG
PEGGYYYYYYY (crying) when steve walked into her office (grabbed my sister again) and when he was watching her through the window and you could feel his pain.
thor and rocket are the pairing that i never imagined but amazing none the less. i loved that we got the return of mjolnir here even though idk what that does to the timeline (again who knows at this point)
rhodey and nebula again another pairing i didnt expect but are great together. everything about nebula in this film. she really has a great arch. i was stressing out so hard when the alternate timeline thanos found out that they came from the past. the scene where peter quill is dancing and singing to no music was great.
clint and natasha. this pairing thie duo the og. fuck my heart. when they started going off to vormir i knew. i knew it and i cannot handle it. the whole scene where they are fighting each other to sacrifice themself i was SOBBING. LEGIT SOBBING. ‘let me go’ i loved this so much and also hated it. she deserved her happy ending too. after everything she gave up everything to save those people. her arch is so good too. im excited for her origin. i kinda want to see her when shes a bad guy and killing everyone and her journey to shield. i hope thats what we’ll see in her movie.
but also that scene emotionally fucked me up hard.
the og avengers (minus nat) sitting on the edge of the lake
thor trying to put on the glove and redeem himself (in his own eyes not my own bc he doesnt deserve the shit he gets for not going for the head)
hulk doing it and the calm before the storm where everything goes back before that missile comes firing down.
steve tony and thor facing off with thanos. everything about this scene. tony getting a juice-up from thor and lightning to max out his powers. steve jump kicking on thanos’s ass. thanos beating up thor and steve coming in with FUCKING MJOLNIR AGAIN CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW MUCH I WAS CHEERING AT THIS POINT HE IS WORTHY MY BOY STEVE IS WORTHY
also on that note tony coming up to steve and saying “theres my man” or something and giving him back his shield again.
steve standing there with his broken shield ready to face off with thanos’s army and sam coming in on the comm. and then EVERYONE COMING THRU AND KICKING NAMES AND TAKING ASS
legit cheering and crying so much
valkyrie with her pegasus
shuri with her blasters
peter parker and his reunion with tony was heartbreaking. tony looked so broken and complete at the same time. he got him back.
PEPPER FREAKING POTTS
AVENGERS ASSEMBLE (YEESSSSSSSS)
peter quill’s semi-reunion with gamora and how she doesnt know him but he gets her back
also gamora, nebula and still-evil!nebula was a great scene. nebula killing her past self is some symbolic shit right there AND to protect her sister who she hated
CAROL FUCKING DANVERS COMING TO SAVE THE DAY AND KICK THANOS’S ASS
im sad that she wasn’t in the film as much but i get why they did it and it also makes me really excited for her future films
but carol getting the gauntlet and peter saying “i dont know how youre gonna get through that”
and ALL THE BADASS MCU WOMEN COMING UP BEHIND HER READY TO FIGHT AND REPRESENT FOR THE FEMALES (CRYING)
this is something that couldn’t of been done a few years ago because there weren’t a lot of female superheroes in this universe and just the fact that this scene can make such an impression and become probably one of the most badass scenes of the mcu is one of the best things that came out of this movie.
side note: ‘activate instant kill’ great callback
and then we get to the sacrifice.
i knew it. i expected it. i read it in fanfics.
i was still not prepared.
‘I am inevitable’
‘I AM IRON MAN’
FUCKKKKKKKK they really know how to write these movies.
he knew he would die. he knew he would never see morgan again. but he knew what he had to do.
his character arch from a selfish man to a selfless man has been the most profound and powerful story.
rdj and tony stark have really carried this franchise. they were the start. and it makes sense that his death closes out this era of the mcu.
to rdj: i will never forgive my mom for telling me that she didn’t like you way back when. that really influenced how i thought about you and about tony stark for years. and i limited me from really appreciating and loving iron man and those movies and tony’s character. but as i continued to watch more of you in the mcu and in real life and have seen how you have grown and who you are today, i have so much love and respect for you and your character. im just so upset at the time i lost where i could have fallen even more in love with you. thank you so much for everything you have done over the last 11 years for this franchise. thank you for the time thank you for the memories and the laughs. the journey has been amazing.
the funeral scene with ‘proof that tony stark has a heart’
(also was the the kid from iron man 3 in the back?)
VALKYRIE BECOMING KING (queen? i say king but who knows) of new asgard. look at my killing baby all grown up and being the leader they need.
thor becoming a guardian basically.
also was quill looking for his gamora? where was the gamora from this timeline on the ship? she wasn’t there in the scene so idk
also fighting with knives to see whos in charge lol
im glad people mentioned/mourned for nat too
steve rogers
steve.
i knew he wasn’t coming back.
bucky knew it too.
im wreaked
but at least he got his happy ending. he got his peggy (again idk what that does to her timeline)
captain sam wilson america in the house.
(old steve looks like joe biden or is it just me lol)
they ended it with a steggy dance and kiss
it really was a perfect end to his story and it wrapped up his character really well. he got that life he deserved
to chris evans: as this is probably the last time we will see you as captain america let me thank you too for the years and joy that you have brought to my life. youre it for me. you are the reason i became so invested in this world. when you jumped on the fake grenade i was in it with you. chris you are and will always be the best chris in my heart. your passion for this character and understanding of steve rogers and his motivations have created such a memorable performance. steve rogers will always be the og. he will always have my heart. i am so thankful that you took this opportunity and used it and made this character your own. you live up to the standards that steve holds for himself and i am so excited for your future. i am also so glad that you didn’t die in this movie bc i definitely could not have handled it if i had to watch both my favs die. i love you three thousand.
i literally cried throughout the whole movie. there were laughs, cheers, groans, stress, tears, and love throughout this film. i am so grateful that i am alive during this time in cinematic history. there will never be something as great or momentous as this film. a true culmination of 22 films. its never been done and i doubt itll ever be done again
i am also so impressed and amazed by how well this film turned out. it is just amazing how everything fell into place
im sure ill read other people’s reactions and they will bring up points or problematic things that will taint my view on this movie but i dont want that to ruin my own experience
and for me, this was truly emotionally draining and fulfilling. the feeling of being in that theatre with all those people who love the characters as much as i do and experiencing this film for the first time is something i will never forget.
people talk about how they remember lining up for star wars.
well i remember sobbing my eyes out when nat died, cheering along with everyone when cap picked up mjolnir and whipped thanos’s ass with it and when carol and the rest of the badass women of the mcu ready to kick ass, crying with everyone as the light went out in tony’s chest and eyes, watching as history was made in front of our eyes.
and the end credits with the og avengers getting recognition with their photos and autographs.
i love this franchise and these films and these characters i dont know who i would be without them.
one last thing
thank you to the og avengers. steve tony thor nat clint bruce. chris robert chris scarlett jeremy mark. you will always have a special place in my heart. you were there at the start. you were the reason this all could happen you were the reason i became so invested in these movies. you brought these characters to life and embodied them. you are all so much like your characters the casting is perfect. thank you for your dedication to your work to you fans and to your characters. it means so much that you all stuck through this together and that you are such great friends in real life and i can only hope that one day i can be so lucky as to meet you all and thank you in person.

I'm stupid... And Angry so.. Welcome to a mini vent
Like the idiot I am I've just sat scrolling getting pissed at anti Tony posts.
He's not cannonically Bisexual.
-Maybe not outright in the movies. But darlings the comics are a thing
He's 'Not' good representations for mental health.
-Em... Incorrect. Ptsd, anxiety, depression. He deals with all of that. Well I'll add for someone who's doing something like he is.
What happened to Wanda is his fault!
Bullshit
-The weapons had his name on, but not all of those weapons were sold by him, he did Everything he could to get rid of all of his weapons rather quickly. What happened after that. Her fault, the experiments she VOLUNTEERED for aren't Tony's fault. Her and her brother wanted revenge. And yes that can easily be chalked up to trauma and issues due to the bomb, which Wasn't fired by Tony. And the loss of there family. Who Tony Didn't kill.
Ca:cw is just Tony attack team Cap.
- are we serious now? Do I need to go into detail about this? Really?
In Ca:cw he attacked Sam for No reason!
-No. His best friend had just been injured and look at where he was shot, the strongest part of the dudes armor, Friday probably aimed, not him, he just wanted him away bc of the panic attack he was probably dealing with while trying to figure out how to help Rhodes.
He manipulated Peter
- Fuck off. Don't do that, like no. The Second Peter was injured he was out of the fight. (I agree he's a kid maybe not the best choice.) but come on were judging this. Okay, Stevie dropped God knows how much weight on him, knowing he was a kid, not knowing if he could catch it. I mean I love Steve but wtf.
He made fun of/put down all of Peters work.
-Ha no. He was Impressed. He asked about the goggles 'Can you see out of these?' he was teasing not being a dick. Please don't start that. He needed a head to toe reboot of a suit. Because he was wearing a onsie. Notice his we shooters are Exactly the same as before? Wow, Tony was impressed. Shock horror. He loves that kid. And he'd Never be his father.
Tony stans make everyone else look bad so Tony looks better.
- incorrect. I love Steve. But he is a little shit. Bucky is amazing, and he didn't deserve the fight, but even He understood it. Tony just found out that he killed his mother. Sam is adorable. Brucie is one of my faves. Nat is a boss ass bitch and I love her. Clint is so me I can't hate him.
(... So I may add more later, pls add more yourself if ya can)
