One of my favorite pieces of artwork made, by @theantichris , is because it has the pink triangle in it.
I have it as a background in my phone even and it will always be the background of my phone (he has done a lot of other great art too!).

As a Sherlock Holmes fan, it spoke to me on multiple levels. Towards my frustration with popular media refusing to allow any stories that recognize the possibility of Holmes and Watson being a couple without being swept under the rug of subtext. How hard it was to get any media with LGBTQ+ main characters on the air in general media.
At the core of how much I loved the piece though, was because of the triangle.
To revel in being LGBTQ+, of loving freely, to dance and to revel in being themselves DESPITE adversity. Despite attempts of homophobes to beat down on and suppress anything that isn't straight and who doesn't fit strict structure lines. That is how I interpret the piece and part of why it means a lot to me.
Use of the pink triangle is not the least bit disrespectful. Pride started as a riot. The pink triangle is a symbol that has been commonly by those who are LGBTQ+ in various ways and has been at many pride events both past and present, and in LGBTQ+ artwork and creations.
