Stargazing with Lucifer Chapter 2/2

Hey y’all I hope you like this story. It took longer than expected to write so I am sorry about that but here it is. If you liked it please leave a like.

Chapter 2

It was now morning and Lucifer was awakening from his slumber, normally feeling the warm embrace of your body heat you weren’t there to wish him good morning. Remembering the argument you had with him last night made him look forward to your kiss and apology at breakfast. He went to go freshen up and wait for you at the table but you never came.

The brothers said you had gone to walk to school with Luke, Simeon, and Solomon. This seemed to aggravate Lucifer and the mood set at the table had dropped drastically. None of the brothers seemed to want to talk about the events of what happened last night, except one. Belphie trying to get on Lucifer’s nerves had said you looked pretty down and that your eyes were puffy. This made Lucifer worry a little, had you gotten no sleep as well. This comment on your behalf was not making the chat at the table any brighter so Beel tried to change the subject asking “Hey did anyone set up that picnic area in the planetarium yesterday?” They all shook their heads in saying that they hadn't set it up. If none of the brothers had done it then it had to be MC. Why did all his thoughts have to revolve around MC. Had Lucifer fallen so deeply in love that he wasn’t aware she had him wrapped around their finger. He already missed her touch, how would he go the rest of the day not trying to give in to this petty fight of theirs.

While the six other demons looked at their older brother, he quickly erased the negative emotion on his face and said “What are you looking at, school starts soon.” Everyone scrambling to escape Lucifer’s gaze he pulled Mammon aside. “Gah, what is it Lucifer? I haven’t even done anything yet.” He quickly shut up as he saw Lucifer’s worrisome face “Was MC really that upset last night?” Lucifer asks this in a shaky breath. The mere thought of you crying over him made him push away his pride and want to put you first. His love. His life. His beloved MC.

“Mammon, do you think you could keep MC busy for about 3 hours after RAD.” Lucifer now asking with a plan and an apology comes to mind. “I could for a price or Gah-” Mammon was quickly shut up with a flick to the back of his head “alright, alright I’ll watch MC.” Lucifer now happy already looking forward to the smile that would be on your face in a couple hours. “Tell MC to go to the planetarium after the 3 hours are up okay.” “Okay, now if you’ll excuse me I have to get to class or could this be a free pass.” Mammon now having a cheeky smile. “Get to school Mammon!”

Lucifer now planning your relaxing evening. First he would be making you a dinner and serving it in the planetarium with candles and a beautiful dinner setting, after that he will then dance with you. And for the finale he will do something so much better than stargazing, he will show you the stars up close no telescope could compare. Flying. He hadn’t stretched his wings in a while but for you he would make the exception. For you he would make any exception, who would have thought the Avatar of Pride would be so madly in love with a mere human. If you asked for a star he would try even if it killed him to see that beautiful smile of yours.

(Sorry if when I switch POV’s it’s confusing but we are now going to MC’s POV)

RAD was a blur as you had a crap night, no breakfast as you didn’t want to face Lucifer’s harsh punishment that you were sure would come sooner or later. However most of all you missed him last night, in the morning hell you even miss now. Now having thought over the situation maybe you didn’t read the signs and should’ve taken a hint that Lucifer wasn’t in the mood. The insecurities still seeping in through your heart, does he truly think I am needy and annoying? Does he love me or was he waiting to leave and I just happened to end the process faster? All these negative emotions clouding your right of judgement until you hear “Hey! Human, you are coming out with me for a while.” Mammon now declaring his presence you are looking at him lost “Didja hear me, The Great Mammon told you we’re going out.” “Sorry Mammon I think I am just going to go home, I’m tired and I want to go back to bed.” Mammon now frantically trying to find an excuse to keep you around. If the plan failed his weekend would be spent being upside down from the staircase. “Come on MC, you want to go home? Why, Lucifer is there. You're bound to get that punishment. Why don’t you live a little and come with me.” The thought of Lucifer’s disappointing face made your spine tingle, maybe staying out for a little with Mammon wouldn’t be that bad.

You were wrong, Mammon had managed to drag you to every thrift shop and boutique in the DevilDom looking for treasures. It had been almost 3 hours and he certainly was taking his time.

(Quick headcanon I think Mammon would be great at thrift shopping because I do it myself and all the valuable treasures and finds you can get are amazing. Mammon would be like those depop sellers)

Now whining to Mammon “Mammon, can we please go. My legs hurt and now I’m not even your shopping buddy. I'm just here to golf your bags. We’ve been shopping for almost 3 hours now, don't you think it’s time to head home?” Mammon now frantically panicking, he had lost track of time and was hurrying you back to the House of Lamentation. “Ah come one MC put those human legs to some use, we have to hurry we’re about to be late.” “Late? Late for what?” now trying to keep up with Mammon’s step. “I have to be somewhere and I have to drop you off at the house. Alright no more questions, just do what I say.” Now even more confused you just going along with it. This isn’t the first time Mammon has acted strange.

Finally arriving at the House of Lamentation Mammon takes the bags you were holding for him and rushes you to the planetarium. “Mammon why are we at the doors of the planetarium, I didn’t leave anything in there.” You fully knew you left the picnic set and didn’t want to be reminded of your rejection. “Just go in there would ya. I have to go so bye. Make sure you go in there.”

After just being left there standing at the doors you finally decide to open them. The sight you saw caused you to gasp. A beautiful table with a dinner that reminded you that you hadn’t eaten anything as you skipped breakfast. All around the room were candles and on the table an enclosed flower. One that looked similar to the one Lucifer had gotten you for Christmas. At the thought of Lucifer you heard someone’s voice from behind you. “Hello MC” behind you was Lucifer the Avatar of Pride holding a bouquet of roses and wearing an apologetic face. “Listen MC I’m sorry for what I said yesterday. I was tired and I wasn’t listening to what you were saying so I didn’t know the whole evening you had enjoyed.” You wanted to forgive him, but the words of neediness and annoying still hung in the air for you. Now turning to him fully, you are holding yourself with your arms, Lucifer starts to approach you but you step back. Lucifer now worrying even more, had he frightened you so much that you thought he would hurt you. Had he been that harsh? “MC please, I’ve missed you. I need to feel you again. I’m terribly sorry for what I said ``''Do you even remember what you said?” You now blurt out your thoughts in a shaky voice. Lucifer now answers hesitantly as he doesn’t want to worsen the situation “Not quite my dear but I take back whatever I said.” “You can’t just take back your words Lucifer! You called me needy and annoying! Do you know how much that hurts? My whole life people have told all I am is needy and annoying and hearing it from you made it all the worse. You never told me any of the crap but I guess you never expressed your true thoughts.” Lucifer now dropping the bouquet of flowers and rushing to wipe the tears that have started to fall from your eyes.

Believe it or not in that moment the Avatar of Pride was panicking, the strong, mighty, calm and collected brother was in a panic over a human’s state of emotional stress. Who would have thought, certainly not Lucifer. Not knowing how to react he just kisses you. He pours all the feelings he has for you, every thought of you, every single meaning he has felt for you into that kiss because words could never describe your relationship. Art could never show how much he cared for you. Hell if he could he would ask Leanardo da Vinci or Michelangelo to paint the love you share.

You are no longer trying to get out of his grasp, you have your hands entangled in his hair and wishing the moment would never end as it was the best kiss you’ve ever received. Now letting go for air you look into his glossy eyes and Lucifer saya “MC I didn’t mean any of that and if I had known you had gone through that pain in the human world I would’ve come and kept you to myself all those years ago.” pausing to see if there was still any anger in your eyes he said “I love you.”

Being held in Lucifer’s arms was always something you loved but it felt even better as he held you tenderly, holding you as if he let you go you would walk out on him. “I love you to Luci. I understand you are busy with work but remember to take a break and take care of yourself for once. Ok?” “Will do MC, now let’s not waste any time or else our dinner will get cold.” Now looking over to your right and you see the beautiful meal still warm waiting for you. At the thought of food your stomach grumbles Lucifer chuckles “I’m guessing Mammon never took you out to anything?” Looking away shyly now you make your way over to the dinner table. And on the plate was your favourite. Not wanting to waste anytime you wait for Lucifer to sit and dig in. You ate like you hadn’t in days but Lucifer only watched with admiration and love. “Haha, here have some of mine.” Lucifer now holding his fork up to you. You were shocked to say the least, Lucifer never fed you but who were you to decline him. You took the bite with a smile on your face.

The rest of dinner was spent chatting and talking about how much you missed each other even though it was only for a day.

(Oh to be sickly in love with Lucifer)

After dinner Lucifer had gotten up and he reached his hand out to you. Now grasping his hand he pulled you up and held you by your waist and pressed your bodies together. As soon as you two start swaying music plays and now you’re dancing. The feeling of Lucifer’s hand on your lower back makes you tingle and your mind go fuzzy but you start swaying in circles to the music. You have never danced with Lucifer properly or formally so this felt magical and meaningful, the tap of your footsteps on the marble and the feeling of Lucifer leading the dance. This feeling new, something amazing. You felt light as a feather and your imagination made you feel like you were in a ball. A masquerade ball dancing with the man across the room. As the song started to speed up as did you. Now swaying up and down in circles, feet sink, you had a huge grin plastered on your face. Looking up at Lucifer you see him looking so happy, his hand on your waist tightening and his grasp on your hand tender. “Thank you Lucifer, I know how much time this must have taken out of your day. I really appreciate it.” your love and appreciation for him grew as you now thought that's why Mammon had dragged you out of the house. “Anything for you my love.” Lucifer now whispering so you could hear. This image, this moment felt like you were the only people left dancing on top of the world. As the music starts to slow so does your dancing. When the music comes to a stop, it’s only you and Lucifer standing. Who would have thought that love would find you this way.

And yet your evening wasn’t over yet. Now you thought it was time to retire for the night, Lucifer quickly grabbed your hand and when you turned around, there he was in his Demon form. Standing there looking so majestic, his wings fluttering open, his horns coming out and the beautiful mark on his forehead.

(I am an utter simp for Lucifer’s demon form)

“My dear I still have one surprise left for you.” Lucifer now holds his hand out to you once more. “Oh really, you have already done so much for me, what else could you possibly have in store?” Taking his hand, you are suddenly yanked towards Lucifer and he is picking you up in bridal style. “Remember how you wanted to stargaze? Well who needs a telescope when we go see the stars ourselves.” Letting you get comfortable in his arms he asks “Are you ready?” Looking up you can’t contain your excitement so you squeal “Yes!”

Lucifer takes off in one swift jump and suddenly you are soaring through the sky. Going higher and higher as each second passes by. As the sky got closer and the Devildom got further you looked down and the Devildom looked like the night sky now. All the cities and streets are shining beautifully. You never would have thought that demons would have such civilised lives and live almost like humans. You were certainly grateful for the kidnapping of your exchange program. As you slowly came to halt in the air, Lucifer’s wings still flapping slowly and silently. “This is as high as I can take you.” Lucifer says as he hopes this is okay. “This is gorgeous Lucifer, I wish I could see the sky this close in the human world.” your voice barely being able to hold your excitement. “Well maybe we can, I think a vacation is deserved soon. I can also use all those unused vacation days from the last 100 years.” You and Lucifer chuckle. “Yeah that sounds nice Luci” Now just floating in the sky basking in each other’s presence, Lucifer is about to open his mouth but you say “Could we stay like this just for a little longer?”

Lucifer is now holding you and hums as a sign of approval, Lucifer was thinking back to your fight and how reckless he was with his words. He vowed to himself now to be more careful in what he says and always be grateful for your love. As midnight came closer and closer Lucifer finally suggested “We should go back now, I’m sure my brother will ask where we went in the morning.” “Yeah you’re right.” A huge yawn now escaping your lips.

Once you guys reach the House of Lamentation you guys are very quick to get ready for bed and cuddle. After you guys are ready, you get in bed and Lucifer grabs your body from behind and pulls you against his chest. He starts kissing up from your shoulder to your earlobe giving praise to you and saying how amazing you are. He then admits that last night he slept horribly and never wants that to happen again.

“I love you MC.”

“I love you Lucifer, goodnight”

With a sweet kiss to the forehead you both fall asleep.

Jeno and you have been in a secret relationship for two years now. At the beginning it felt crazy and unreal for you to even go on a date with and idol, Jeno is really well known and people can recognize him everywhere anytime, even though of that your love was so strong and beautiful that you wouldn’t choose anyone else to be in love with and to experience this.

Jeno is one the most amazing people that you’ve met in your life, he is so loving, caring, he makes you feel safe, he knows how to take care of you, he makes you happy, he makes you feel safe, you can’t imagine your life without him, he is the best that has happened to you.

Of course dating an idol in secret wasn’t a complete fairytale, but you don’t regret anything and you don’t get tired because you have him, and he is the best.

Two weeks ago you started feeling sick, your stomach felt like it was going in circles, you felt constantly nauseous, you couldn’t eat or smell a lot of things because it felt weird, you would feel dizzy out of nowhere, you really didn’t know what was going on. At the begging you thought it was the flu but after a week you started to get worried.

You decide to go to the doctor and see if you are having some problems with your digestive system or something. He starts with an echocardiogram that let’s him see if there’s anything wrong.

“Miss, I think I can see what’s going on.” He says while looking at the machine.

“Really? great! Tell me, I really want to get better.” You say kinda excited because you just want to get back to normal.

“Miss Y/L/N, congratulations, you are pregnant.” He says excited.

You stare at him with a blank shocked expression in your face. You don’t even know what you are feeling right, what are you supposed to do? how should you react? you have never been a mother, what is happening?

“Well, everything looks good, you and the baby are really healthy. Everything that you are feeling is completely normal either way I will recommend you to go see a gynecologist and they will help you with anything. Once again, congrats.” He says all of that like in 10 seconds and everything is happening so fast that you brain can assimilate how to react at all.

You get out of the doctor’s office and drive straight at home. During the whole ride and while staring at the ceiling in bed all you could think about was ‘how were you going to tell Jeno?’, wow you really messed up. Jeno is an idol, everyone knows that whatever an idol does becomes an scandal, and an young idol, from a big company, super popular, in a secret relationship of two years, is not married and his girlfriend is pregnant is definitely something that would affect him hard!

You aren’t sure if you should cry or what, genuinely you wanted to have this baby, yes, you are going to collage, you are young, but wouldn’t feel bad about being a mother right now, also the thought of having a baby with Jeno doesn’t sound wrong for you. You have thought about having a family with him countless times, Jeno is the kindest and most caring people, he would be an amazing dad and also he loves kids.

It would be a dream to have a family with someone who you love as much a Jeno, but everything depends on how is he going to react, you believe in him and you believe that he would do anything to make you happy.

You sit and look at him in the eyes. “Jeno, I need to tell you something.” You say with a serious tone, trying to contain yourself.

“Okay, what’s going on?” Jeno sounds worried.

“I’m pregnant.” You finally let this let out, feeling better and much relaxed.

“What? Are you kidding.” Jeno says with a confused yet frustrated look on his face.

“No, I was feeling bad for two weeks so I decided to go to the doctor, and he checked me and turns out I was pregnant, but I didn’t knew how to tell you, but know i’m here telling.” You say this so fast, with a mix of emotions, most of these being fear and excitement. You let smirk out of your lips, because you were actually feeling happy of telling this to your boyfriend.

“Y/n, no, we can’t.” Jeno says looking away from you with a serious tone.

“W-what do you mean?” You feel the tears form in your eyes.

“Y/n, you can’t have this baby, you know how much this would affect me and my job? what if they make me leave the group and the company!?” Jeno sounds so frustrated, you have never seen him like this and it’s starting to break your heart.

“Jeno, but we can find a solution, maybe we can get married and have it in secret until a couple of years pass, people have done it before so can we.” You say while getting up and trying to reach him.

“NO!” He says as soon as you finish talking. “Y/n, I’m 24 and you are 22; we just simply can, that isn’t gonna work.” He says placing his hands in his hips and having a serious look on his face.

“Jeno, but please, let’s try.” You are now crying, feeling so much pain by what you are hearing him say.

“Y/n, we need to get rid of this baby.” He finally says looking down.

You start crying, you feel you knees getting weaker and you sit on the couch again letting all the sadness get out through your tears.

“I’m not going to. I’m sorry Jeno but this is my baby too and I want to have it!.” You say firm drying your tears.

Jeno looks at you with disappointment. “Y/n, but please understand.” He sits next to you and holds your hands.

“You know I love you but we can’t do this now.” He stares at your eyes, while you avoid eye contact.

“Okay, i’ll think about it, I just need to calm down.” You fake to agree, but you already made your decision, you were going to have this baby with or without Jeno, even if it hurt you so much.

Jeno leaves your place and you acted normal, but right after that all you did was cry the while night. You packed your bags, quickly called your parents and explained all to them, same with your best friend Rina, they ended up supporting you and told you they would help as much a they could.

You booked your flight to England that night, you had a couple of friends there who offered to move multiple times and you were finally agreeing, you were leaving at 6am the next day. You deactivated every social media that Jeno had of yours for now, until you felt like coming back. It was really hard for you to do this but there wasn’t going to be other way to do it, if you stayed and had the baby it was gonna a big issue to Jeno and you loved, you didn’t want him to go through that, he broke your heart tonight, but you still lived him and that wasn’t gonna change.

Jeno’s pov

It was already 6pm and he hasn’t heard anything from y/n, she usually gets out of work around 4pm and it’s constantly texting Jeno but, what happened today?. ‘Was it because of what happened last night?’ Jeno thought, yesterday was really stressing for him, it would be crazy if he has a baby right now right on the highest of his career.

He starts panicking and calls Y/n multiple times but it doesn’t even ring saying that the number is out of service, he checks and you are gone from every social media. He proceeds to call your friend Rina who finally tells him that you are gone, that she doesn’t know where you went. He hangs up immediately at feels frustrated at himself, for being so stupid and letting you go, he could have find a solution and have you here but he choose wrong and now he lost you.

He thought about Y/n every time, everyday, wondering how you looked, how you felt, how you were doing, and how lost he felt without you. He wasn’t able to start going on dates after two years passed, but she was still going through his mind frequently. He had to accept that you left and that you weren’t going to comeback but it’s hard.

5 years later...

Jeno went to the park for a rum, he usually comes a couple times a week at 8am, it’s the perfect timing because this early in the morning the only people around are elders, people with dogs and people training, every other person it’s at school or working, so no one would focus on if he is an idol or not. After 30 mins running he decides to sit on a bench to rest before walking back to bis car and go back home. While in here he can admire the plants, trees and flowers that are in the park, the view to the Han River and breath the fresh air.

He keep enjoying the view when he sees a ball flying right next to the bench he is sitting, he get startled and starts looking everywhere to see who could be looking for the ball. While he keeps watching this little kid around 4-5? years old comes running towards him.

“Hi sir, have you seen my ball?” The little kids saya in a broken korean and keeping the word ‘ball’ in english.

He faces the kid and gets completely shocked, feeling shivers running all around his body. The kid standing in front of him looks exactly like him, all he sees is the 5 year old Jeno that filmed all of those commercials and did all of those publicity campaigns. He keeps blinking, trying to go back to reality and figure out if he is dreaming or not.

“Oh, here it is.” The kid says pick up the ball located next to Jeno’s bench.

“Daniel, I told you to stay next to me!” A familiar voice Jeno hears, and he sees a hand holding the kid.

He looks up and looks at the owner of the voice, and it’s her, it’s y/n, the only girl that he has considered the love of his life, probably the best woman he has ever dated, also the one that he let go and didn’t treat right that one night.

“Y/n?” Jeno says confused, with a knot forming on his throat.

You hear his voice and immediately recognize it, you feel you heart pounding really fast, you feel your hands sweet, and feel like you are about to throw up, also controlling your eyes so they won’t form any tears.

“Uhm, hi, jeno.” You say in the calmest tone you can, looking at the man that you have loved the most and that also hurt you the most, but was never able to erase from your memory, and your heart.

Jeno stands up quickly with his eyes wide open. “So, how have you been, what are you doing here?” You could feel the nervous in his voice.

“Oh, I decided to come back, Rina’s family offered me a really good job here and I couldn’t say no.” You have never felt so uncomfortable ever, while in a conversation. You try to avoid eye contact and pray that you can leave soon.

“Mommy, who is he?” Your 5 year old asks in a innocent way.

‘Mommy’!? Jeno thinks, is this his baby? is this his child? the one that he told you not to have?. Jeno could feel his heart flinch, and go all over the place, his knees get weaker and some way he feels dizzy too. He tries to recover and get back on his senses.

“Yes baby, he is an old friend.” You smile at your son and pat his head. “Oh, okay.” Your son answers and thank god that he didn’t do more questions because he tends to talk a lot.

“Y/n, I think we need to talk.” Jeno says in a serious tone. You swallow and take a deep breath.

“Talk about what?” You say trying to sound calm. Jeno looks at you with a intense gaze and points at your child with his head.

“What? why? I have nothing to tell you.”You start getting frustrated but try not to take ir further.

“Y/n, this child looks exactly like me, I think we definitely need to talk.” Jeno says almost whispering, so your son can’t hear him.

“Jeno no, I don’t want to. Don’t you remember when you told me not to have him, you made it really clear, we won’t bother you.” You say in a low tone but still mad because obviously what Jeno made you feel is something that you’re never going to forget.

“Daniel, let’s go.” Your kid looks at you and you gran his hand but Jeno holds your arm and stops you.

“Y/n please, it’s been years, I really want to talk and clear things up, please.” You can feel the sincerity in his eyes that are staring directly at you.

“You can come to my apartment, he can order something to eat and we can talk in peace.” He says. You look at him and sigh.

“Okay, it’s okay.” You tell him

“Great, give me your number and i’ll text you.” You hand him your phone and saves his numbers.

“We will be free tomorrow around 4pm, does that work for you?” You ask him.

“Yes perfect, i’ll see you them.” He smiles, and for the first time in 5 years you finally see again that smile that used to make your day better ams your heart flutter.

“Bye.” You say giving a soft smile.

“Bye, sir.” Your son says while holding your hand and leaving that spot.

Y/n’s pov

When you saw Jeno at time, out of nowhere, never wondering you would find him there. When you saw that your son was standing next to him you were about to faint right there, but a bigger force gave you the strength not to. You fought so hard not to think about Jeno and to get over him for years, but you just simply couldn’t, also the fact that your baby looked just like him, the same eye shale, the same eye smile, laugh, face, everything was just like him, didn’t help either

you definitely didn’t knew how to react when Jeno said he wanted to talk to you, that’s when you remembered everything that happened and how you literally ran away to raise this baby by yourself, your mother instinct came out, you are definitely not ready to have this conversation, you don’t even know if you are ready to let Jeno get into Daniel’s life, but when Jeno asked you, you could see the sincerity in his eyes and you had no option but to say yes.

You think about how are you gonna be able to have this conversation with Jeno once you get to his apartment, the feelings for him haven’t disappeared and the thoughts of him being a dad makes you even happier but you don’t want to dream to much and just wait until you finally met.

Jeno’s pov

Seeing y/n after years and knowing that things didn’t ens up well, just makes him so upset and frustrated. His mind and his heart are a mess right now, when he saw this kid that looked exactly like him and them finding out his mother was y/n, how was he supposed feel. Then coming back to his apartment and realizing that from the time that y/n was pregnant until now everything fits, that kid is his son, a son that he didn’t wanted to have years.

He lays in bed and tries to organize himself, after seeing that small child, so pretty, with the same face features that him, made him feel so touch, also the fact that it has a part of him and a part of y/n, isn’t that kid the best thing ever? He keeps thinking about that one night and how much he regrets everything he said and letting y/n go, but was so young back then, he didn’t knew what to do or how to react, but now he feels like doing the right thing.

Y/n is finally back in the city and back in his life, with his son, he definitely wants to be part of his life, everyone knows that growing up without a parent is hard, and Jeno really wants the best for him, Jeno really loves kids, and always loved the idea of having a family but right when y/n told him she was pregnant he didn’t knew what to do, he wasn’t ready. Now he is ready to fix things up, for the love of his life and his son.

He spent the rest of the day, noon and even the middle of the night thinking about all, he wasn’t able to sleep even a bit at night.

the next day...

Jeno’s pov

He went to the gym to release some stress, he was feeling so nervous about today. He wasn’t even able to eat well, watch tv, or do anything, he would just stare at his phone every 2 minutes to see what time it was.

He cleaned the apartment, went to the grocery store and got of all your favorite drinks and snacks, and things that probably a kid would like, he even went to to a toy shop to get a couple of gifts for his son? ‘is that how i should call him?’ he thought. He studied menus from restaurants so when you were hungry he would already know what to order.

He was planning for everything to be perfect and be able to spend a nice evening.

Y/n’s pov

You woke up really tired, you could barely sleep last night so now your head and your whole body hurts. The day passed and all you felt were constant nauseas, you still loved Jeno so much but you have to accept what happened and move on, you don’t even know if he is even dating someone.

You tried to calm down but now you find yourself pulling out your whole closet to figure out what to wear, it’s crazy to see yourself like this, you are always so cool, but today is different.

You call Jeno and let him know that you were almost there. You inhale and exhale multiple times to calm yourself down. Finally you arrive at find you and your son in front of Jeno’s apartment door. You knock and a seconds the door opens showing the guy with the beautiful eye smile, you felt like your eyes were transforming into heart shapes.

“Hi, welcome to my house.” He says smiling brightly hiding his nerves with his smile.

You smile back and proceed to enter with your cute son. A couple of hours passed and you’ve just have chatted about the most boring things ever, constantly trying to avoid eye contact and feeling the big awkwardness between you two.

“You know? I’m actually hungry, we should order now.” You say

“Oh yeah, sure. I found this chicken restaurant and it also has a menu for kids, is that okay.” He says while standing up and looking for the phone.

“Yes, perfect.” You give him a soft smile. You feel you heart pound fast, the fact that he looked for a place that has a kids menu already made you happy, you really need to calm down, you came to have a serious talk and we don’t even know if it’s gonna end up well.

The food arrives and you eat in silence, just making comments about the food and looking at Daniel who is really enjoying watching tv while eating chicken, which was one of his favorite food.

“Daniel! I actually have a couple of gifts for you.” Jeno leaves to his room and comes back revealing the items behind his back.

“Cha chan!” He shows a big car toy and a really big dog teddy.

Daniel’s eyes open in shook and smiles, he runs to the toys and hugs them.

“Thank you Sir Jeno.” He says with a big smile.

You are all done eating and after a while of playing with his toys Daniel starts yawning.

“Honey, are you sleepy?” You say caressing your son’s cheek.

“Yeah, I want to sleep.”He says yawning again.

“Maybe we should go.” You look at Jeno.

“Oh no, but he can sleep in my room. You know? so we can talk.” Jeno says with a little of nerves in his voice.

“Well, Umh, yes. Let’s do that.” You don’t try to go against it because you know you need to have this talk. You walk your som to Jeno’s room and a couple of minutes later he is already asleep.

You go back to the living room and sit in the couch, next to Jeno.

“So, why are you back in town?” Jeno takes a sip of his drinks.

“Well, like I told you before Rina’s family actually have been insisting me to come back and now they offered me a job here, and honestly I wanted to come back, I had lot of friends here and I missed them, also I love the city, so I thought it was time to come back.” You give him a soft smile.

“Oh that’s great, and how’s the job?” He asks.

“It’s great, i’m actually one of the managers, and they let me take some work home so I don’t have to go to the office everyday, and I can spend more time with Daniel.” You smile remembering how much you love your little boy.

“So now, where were you living?” He says with a more serious tone.

“I was living in England, I met a couple of friends from there in high school and they always told me to move and talked to me about the scholarships, so I went there.” You leave a sigh.

“And how did you manage to study and take care of the baby?” He asks.

“I studied until I gave birth, then I took a break for 6 months and maintained us with money I saved, what my friends helped me with and the money that my parents sent me.” You take a sip of your drink.

“And who helped you take of the baby?”He looks at you.

“My mom stayed for a couple of months, later my friend’s mom offered me to take care of him and she ended up doing for all of these years.” You smile remembering how grateful you were with all the people who helped you so much.

“Wow you really went through a lot.” He looks at the floor and touches his head.

“Yep.” You say in an awkward way.

“I’m sorry. I’m really sorry that you had to go through all of that by yourself. I was such an idiot for not taking care of you and the baby, knowing that I was capable of keeping comfortable and safe. Y/n, I’m really really sorry for everything. I know I told you to get rid of the baby but I was stupid.” Jeno closes his eyes and takes his head im between his hands.

“Jeno, I know.” You say trying to make him feel calm.

“No, Y/n, I was so blind and I was scared. I didn’t even try to help you and the find a solution I didn’t do anything.” You hear Jeno’s voice break and your heart starts to beat fast.

“Hey, I know that you are being honest, I forgive you. I’m not gonna tell you I didn’t felt bad, you broke my heart and made me sad, and of course, the whole pregnancy and those 5 years haven’t been easy at all. But I appreciate that you are now talking about this with me, really.” You pat his back while smiling.

“Thank you, Y/n.” He stares at your eyes.

“It’s okay.” You smile.

“Now, I wanted to tell you something else.” He says.

“Yeah, tell me.” You say positioning yourself on the couch.

“You are Daniel’s mom, and you are the only parental figure he’s had and I have to respect that. I was really thinking hard about this and I want to be part of his life, I want to be his dad, I’m here, I’m present, I can help you with all the expenses I don’t care. I can take care of him, I’ll anything I should do as a dad if you let me be part of his life.” He says practically begging.

This really made you think, you’ve never had anyone to be part of Daniel’s life like this. You are the only one he had since day one, it was so delicate for you to take a decision like this. You don’t care about anything in the world but your son, you would end up sad if Jeno ever leaves him, so this wasn’t a easy choice to make.

“Wow, that was unexpected.” You give an awkward laugh.

“Yeah, I know, I know it’s hard but believes me, i’ll do anything.” Jeno takes your hands and stares right into your eyes.

“Okay.” You say

“Okay? like it’s okay? are you gonna let me?” He sounds excited.

“Yes, but please promise you’ll be with him no matter what, this isn’t a game, if you make him sad and gonna be furious.” You say in a serious tone.

“No, no, of course i’ll do the best for him.” He smiles.

“But wait, how are you gonna say in public that you have a 5 year old son?” You say nervous.

“Y/n, I’m 29, i’ll find the way and I don’t care what people have to say, this is my child not theirs.” You heart jumps everywhere when you hear him say that, making you flutter.

You spend the rest of the night chatting and catching up.

“And are you dating anyone?” Jeno says shy.

“A young mom, with a kid? I’ve just gone on dates, maybe some kissing and something else but nothing more, it doesn’t even happen that much. Men won’t commit to raising a child.” You take a sip of your drink. Jeno realizes how every aspect of your life has been so hard.

“What about you?” You look at the tv.

“Oh, not much either. After you left I didn’t go on dates for two years, after that just datings but nothing serious.” He says.

“Oh cool, so we are the same.” You laugh.

“Yes, I guess.” He laughs back

“But tell me.” He says taking your attention.

“Yes?” You answer.

“What’s gonna happen between you and I, aren’t mommy and daddy supposed to be together?” He leans closer to your face and you look at him in shook.

“Because I have never stopped thinking about you.” He stare at your eyes.

“Yes, I guess we could try.” You say playfully.

He grabs your waist and connects your lips together. His lips feel so soft and warm, you taste heaven when you kiss him. You have been waiting for this moment for so long and it’s finally happening. You are so thankful that Jeno decided to talk to you, you have always love him so much and now you know it’s the same for him too.

1 year later

It’s been a year since you let Jeno enter Daniel’s and you life’s. Honestly it’s the beat decision you’ve ever made, he is the most caring, loving and supportive dad ever. He surprises you everyday on how great of a dad he is to Daniel, and when it comes to Daniel, it just took him a week to start trusting Jeno fully and after a mont he was already calling him daddy. You are so thankful for having the two boys the you love the most in your life together.

“Mommy! Daddy! let’s go to the playground.” Your son says.

“Okay honey, but don’t run so fast.” You tell him.

You sit on a bench and look at your kid who is playing happily.

“He has grown a lot in just a year hasn’t he?” Jeno says placing his arm around your shoulder.

“Yes, he is so big now.” You say feeling nostalgic.

“And as beautiful as his dad.” Jeno says while winking.

“Idiot.” You laugh and give him a peck on the lips.

“I can’t wait until we make another one.” He giggles his eyebrows and laughs. You laugh back and give him another kiss.

“Daddy! stop kissing, come play with me.” You cute 6 year old says while standing his hand to his dad.

“I’m coming champ.” He gets up and kiss your lips once again again, to what your so makes a disgusting face. You both laugh and you watch him hold your son’s hand.

They start playing with the ball and you look at them filled with joy and loved, you look at you hand and admire the beautiful engagement ring that Jeno gave you 3 months ago. The proposal was simple but beautiful, you were walking around Jeju Island when out of nowhere he asked you to marry him and you obviously said yes. The plans for the wedding have been going well, you are taking things slow so you can have time. Daniel is the most excited about the wedding and always wants to be involved in everything. You are so thankful that everything has been going

so well, Jeno and Daniel have the most beautiful bond ever and you are lucky to have the most caring dad to your kid and future husband on your side.

This can be normal or au au: Nico coming home from the NICU on Christmas day, a little present to everyone. And so everyone (stubborn siblings included) are just fawning over her, but mommy Sana is being very protective. Finally, in a quiet moment when Sana has snuck off to nurse Nico, one of the other adults (you pick) comes to talk to Sana and remind her that it's okay to breathe because Nico is safe and they are out of the woods. 🦄

The day Nico came home was like a fresh start for the entire Myoui-Chou family. There was so much leading up to it, so much stress and anxiety, but now that she was cleared to come home, everyone was much better off. She ends up getting to come home a few days early, as she is doing much better than the doctors predicted. This excites all of them because they didn't think Nico would be home for Christmas. She got out of the hospital on December 24th, and Mina Sana and Tzuyu had to stop their older kids from coming since Tzuyu’s parents were already with them. They knew they wanted to be there too, but they didn’t want to crowd the hospital or Nico too much. Plus there wasn’t room in the car. It was already a tight fit, and they couldn’t fit anyone else in the car.

Instead, the kids plan a little surprise party for their baby sister. “Do we have to do this?” Saya whined as she put up a banner at Sai’s demand.

“Yes. You know how long they have been anticipating Nico coming home.” Sai rolled her eyes. “Come on, I know you're excited too.” “I am not.” Saya pouted. “Then why did you have today circled on your desk calendar?” Saki asked, also helping to hang a banner.

“Because it’s Christmas eve.” “You didn’t have tomorrow circled. You never circle anything except for Yujin’s birthday.” Saki pointed out.

“I- wait how do you know that? Were you in my room?!” Saya asked, stopping what she was doing.

“I was just grabbing a shirt.” Saki put tape down. “Don’t be such a baby.”

“You know what-”

“Baby alphas no fighting.” Sai interrupted them. “How is it going Sae?” Sae was making food for them all. Saki had been helping her before moving to help with the banner.

“Okay.” Sae nodded. “Taste this.” Sae put the spoon in Sai’s mouth. “It’s- what is this?” Sai asked.

“Miyeok-Guk.” Sae answered. “It’s for mom. Ka-san and Mama have been making her eat a ton of it since Nico was born, but it is supposed to be good for postpartum.” “Oh, that explains it. I don’t like Miyeok-Guk.” Sai sighed.

“I know.” Sae laughed. “That’s why I made you eat it.” “You're making real food too right?” Sai sighed. “Of course.” Sae giggled. “I’m making some Xiao Long Bao and Rou Si Chao Mian.” “Chinese food?” “I let Saki pick the food.” Sae giggled. “Plus we are having Japanese food tonight for dinner so I thought we should surprise Nainai and Yeye. I just hope they think it’s good.” “You're one of their favorites so I think it will be okay.”

“One of?” “Well I mean it’s clear Saki is their favorite, she speaks Chinese the best.” Sai giggled, taking a piece of carrot and eating it. “That’s true.” Sae nodded.

“I’m who’s favorite?” Saki asked, walking over to help Sae again after setting up the banner. “Nainai and Yeye,” Sai answered.

“Oh yeah, I’m their favorite. But Chinese isn’t really that hard, you guys could learn it.” Saki giggled. “Eh, too much work.” Sai shrugged. “Anyway, they will be home in five minutes.” “Okay, everything is pretty much done.” Sae nodded. “Saki if you want to help me set everything out that would be nice.” “Sure.” “I’ll help too.” Sai offered. “Saya grab a plate.” “But I don’t want to-”

“No buts.” Sai nodded. “Your Nico’s big sister too.” “Well, I don’t like it.” “Too bad.” Sai rolled her eyes. Once everything was set out, the four of them waited on the couch until they heard the garage. Their mama was the first one to come in, carrying a baby bag. She smiled when she saw what the girls had set up. “Where’s Nico?” “Your mom has her.” Tzuyu giggled, putting the baby bag on the table. “They should be here in a second. Your Yeye and Nainai are bringing in some gifts from your Aunts. This was sweet.” “Thank you. It was all Sai.” Saki laughed.

“Thanks, Sai.” Tzuyu smiled. “We’re happy you guys are so excited.” “I’m-”

“Shut up and admit your excitement, Saya.” Sai interrupted her sister.

“Fine.” Saya pouted. “I’m excited I guess.” “There it is.” Sai smiled. “That wasn’t so bad was it?” “I hate you so much.” xx

Sana and Mina were pleasantly surprised at the party. Nico was asleep for most of it, but the adults all celebrated. She was passed around a bit, but she only really was comfortable with Sana. Sana insisted on holding her for most of the party, and until she had to leave to feed her she didn't let anyone take Nico for more than a few seconds. Mina was acutely aware of this the entire time, and when Sana left to fed Nico upstairs she followed.

“Hey, baby.” Mina shut the door to Nico’s nursery behind her. Sana looked up at the sound of her voice, looking up from where she was nursing her daughter. “Hi,” Sana muttered quietly.

“You seemed a little off.” Mina sat next to Sana, wrapping an arm around her.

“I’m not off. I’m happy. Nico is finally home.” Sana rocked back a little bit, trying to not jostle Nico.

“Babe… We've been married for almost eighteen years. I know when you're off.” Mina nodded. “What is it?” “I’m just- I was so worried about her. And scared. And I don’t want to let her go cause I’m afraid she will be gone again if we aren’t careful enough.” Sana admitted, not looking Mina in the eyes. Mina sighed, grabbing Sana’s chin and making her look her in the eyes.

“I know it was scary. And it’s almost hard to believe Nico is here now and healthy and okay. But she is, she’s here and she’s okay.” Mina smiled at Sana. “I know this was all a lot, but it’s okay. She’s okay. We’re okay.” “Everyones okay?” “Everyone is okay,” Mina confirmed, pulling Sana in for a kiss. “You have done so well. We’re all really proud of you.” “I love you Mitang.” “I love you too.”

I felt nostalgic while rewatching, so here it is, Zuko, Saya (oc, Sokka and Suki's granddaughter) and Iroh II for a while on a very special, very sad day...

Saya and Iroh were standing in one of many hallways of Fire Nation Royal Palace. But this one was not just like any other hallways. Lord Zuko made it an alley of the heros, who helped win the war and organise the world afterwards. At first there were just statues. Then, the statues were completed with photos. The hallway was bringing up the most cherished memories. But it was also bringing up the sad ones, as many of those heroes passed away a long time ago. That was the reason Iroh and Saya were there that day.

Saya didn't like visiting this hallway. She didn't like looking at the photos of her grandparents, great-aunts and great-uncles. She didn't like these statues. Their resemblance to their models was striking. It felt like not only the statue, but the person themselves, pierced her with their look. But that day she figured the hallway was the best place to go. She stayed at the palace as an official guest of the Fire Lord, while she was on a break from her regular post. She was supposed to catch up with everyone available from the Academy and also give a few lectures there. She loved staying in the capital. But this day didn't bring her joy. Because this day was the anniversary of her grandfather's death.

Iroh put his arm around her shoulder and hugged her gently. He didn't say anything. He knew she hated it, so he just wanted to be there for her. Saya didn't hold back tears anymore and let them flow down her cheeks.

"I miss him terribly" she whispered. "Both of them." She looked over at the statue of Suki. She didn't have the courage to look at the photos of them together.

"I know" replied Iroh, kissing her head gently.

"I hate that they're gone."

"Too bad your mom isn't here, she'd probably know what to say better than me."

Saya smiled weakly.

"No, it's okay. We're used to not spending that time together. We don't see each other a lot, but I know it's a difficult day for her as well" she explained. "So, you don't have to say anything, I'm just glad you're here."

"Always by your side, honey." Smiled Iroh.

"Am I interrupting, general Saya?" someone spoke up, walking up to them. Saya wiped her tears with the sleeve.

"Lord Zuko, no, of course not" she answered, immediately getting back control over her voice. "I'm sorry, I'll just collect myself and I'm ready to do whatever you need from me."

Zuko smiled sourly.

"I'm not here on any official business, Saya" he explained, stopping next to her. "I'm here to pay the tribute to my best friend."

"Oh. I'm sorry, I didn't know."

Zuko sighed and looked at one of the photos. Tears appeared in his eyes as he saw himself and chief Sokka, his most trusted advisor, at an important meeting, one of the firsts. All of them stood silently for a while, until Zuko spoke up again.

"Iroh, would you give us a minute?"

Iroh was surprised but didn't refuse.

"Of course. You're gonna be alright?" he asked Saya, taking his arm from her shoulder. She nodded.

"Yes, thank you."

Iroh smiled and walked away. At first neither of them was talking. But finally Saya decided to ask a question.

"Do you miss him, uncle?"

A single tear flowed down his cheek, but he smiled weakly.

"Every single day" he answered quietly. "I miss both of them. They were my best friends and sometimes I still catch myself on thinking 'I'm going to ask Suki' or 'I can't wait to tell Sokka' and it lasts only a second but it hurts every time when I remind myself they're really gone."

Saya chuckled.

"I bet you actually have more right to miss them than I do" she said sadly.

"What are you talking about?"

"They were your best friends" she started explaining. "You went through so much together. I don't remember much of them."

"That doesn't mean you can't miss them as much as I do." Nodded Zuko. "What do you remember of them?"

Saya smiled.

"I remember how grandpa taught me to throw a boomerang. And how we would go fishing together. I remember him saying 'You know, Saya, one day you'll become a great sailor and you'll travel all over the world, I can feel it.' He wasn't wrong, though."

"Yes, Sokka never was." Smiled Zuko. "What else?"

"I remember how nana used to do me a Kyoshi warrior make up. I was so little and mom was so mad when I left the paint all over my clothes." Saya chuckled silently. "I remember she was the one who taught me how to braid my hair. She was always saying how much I'm worth and to never forget about it."

Zuko smiled.

"Yes, that sounds a lot like Suki. She used to do my haircuts too, you know? No one else after her could do it so well."

Saya looked over at Zuko and smiled. He laid his hand on her shoulder.

"Listen, little one. I've told that once Yue, your mother, and now I'm going to tell it you" he started. "They not actually gone, you know? I see them all the time. In you. And they would be so proud of you, I'm sure of that. They were so happy when you were born." He smiled, remembering those happy days when they were all still together. A whole group.

"And do you think they are now?" asked Saya. Zuko raised his eyebrows in question, so she explained. "Happy."

Zuko thought for a moment before answering.

"I think they are. And I have to say, although I quite enjoy living, I can't wait to reunite with them. One way or another."

Saya smiled.

"Thank you, uncle Zuko. This day is never easy but you actually made it a lot better."

Zuko nodded.

"I could say the same about you." He looked over at the statue and took one of the not flamed candles. "Do you want to light it with me?"

Saya nodded and took out a box of matches from a pocket. She lit a candle and Zuko placed it at its place. They stood there silently for another while, until Saya spoke up again.

"You know, maybe I didn't know them so well, but I think they would be proud of you too, uncle."

Zuko looked at her, completely surprised. But then, he smiled and tears showed up in his eyes.

"Thank you, Saya."

I do not know how widespread it was, I did not see much of it, but more than annoying me, it puzzled me because I did not know where that could have come from although a while ago I had a hypothesis about the matter of dogs. 🤔

The best known among South Americans of all is that the accent and the way of speaking of Chileans is unintelligible to other Spanish speakers and that in Chile Spanish is spoken very badly xD Looking around, I saw that apparently so much is the case that in 2015 a Chilean linguist wrote a book about how Spanish was not badly spoken in Chile, it was only spoken differently xd According to me, the origin of this is that in Chile people tend to speak faster than everyone else, combined with the jargons that seem to be very different from those in other countries. I think I agree with this moderately, because there are people who speak quite fast, interrelated and / or it is difficult to understand the expressions they use, but it is not unintelligible as the meme says (in fact, I have a friend who speaks slowly, and even the Chileans themselves drew attention xd) and I can understand my teachers and classmates most of the time

From Peru: I think the best known is still the one that Peruvians eat pigeons. As I read once years ago on Facebook (high scientific rigor xd 😅) the myth arose in Chile when in a certain place in the capital where many Peruvians came to live, the pigeons that had always been there began to disappear. From what I remember, sometimes the meme is shown as if the pigeon were the flag dish of Peru and that you cannot live without it, but it is a lie xd I know it is eaten, my mother at least ate pigeon with noodles and she told me that were raised to eat (and in fact he told me that it was possible that there really were people who had hunted in the plaza at some time 😅), and I also saw Gastón Acurio prepare pigeon ocopa (ocopa is like a cream and is eaten with rice, potato and lettuce). However, the case of Gastón Acurio was that he was preparing forgotten recipes from a 1950 cookbook, so I highly doubt that many people prepare it and it is definitely not very representative (there are much more widespread and famous dishes). About the noodles, it may be prepared, but it is much more common to see the chicken noodle. Anyway, it does not seem very serious considering that there are other places where you eat or ate pigeon cake xd

It is also that Peru claims everything as its own, but it is more because of a fight it has with Chile over whether the pisco sour (a drink with lemon) is Peruvian or Chilean and something similar happens with ceviche. Anyway it is exaggerated and I think that most people on both sides do not really care about the matter xD

Pt. 1 of my Danganronpa OCs (Danganronpa: Love & Despair)

I got a few likes on my last post, so here they are! Finally! I’m going to start with the characters and then depending on how that goes, I might also do the cases and stuff. Some of these designs may change (Just the clothes since I realized they’re all quite plain) but the changes won’t be that different, probably just different coloring.

Our first character:

Name: Saya Nobuaki

Meaning: Saya promotes peace because it represents a sword in its sheath (This is the only meaning for a name I’ve found so far, sorry).

Background: I got the name Nobuaki while watching Ousama Game (Or King’s Game). The main character’s name was Nobuaki and my favorite’s name was Tetsuaki. However, I got the two confused and chose the wrong name. But, it’s too late to change it now and it’s grown on me.

Ultimate Talent: Ultimate Judge

She can judge whether a person is innocent or guilty with 100% accuracy and know exactly why they should or should not be convicted. She has a hard time getting people to believe her.

I know this is overpowered, but when I say she has a hard time getting people to believe her, I mean it. That’s not just an over-exaggeration.

Appearance: Female

Height: 5′6.5 (168.9 cm)

Weight: 125 lbs

Background:

As she was born blind, she’s never been able to see. There was a sketchy option for a surgery to grant her eyesight, but she rejected the offer. This hasn’t stopped her from accomplishing great things, though. For starters, her hearing capabilities are much higher than the average person. She was a great student and very popular, quite the opposite of her sister. Everyone wants to be her friend, even at Hope’s Peak, and she is happy to oblige.

Birthday: October 23rd (Scorpio).

Most Prized Possession: A butterfly broach her mother gave to her for getting exemplary grades in the fifth grade. She kept it in her small purse she carried at all times and only wore it to formal events.

Gender/Sexuality things (in case anyone’s curious): Cis female; I haven’t really decided on a sexuality because I didn’t think it was important for her character (This is the case for most of the characters).

Fun Facts: She has good posture and can walk in a very straight line; She can do an impeccable British accent.

Relationships (These will make more sense when you know all of the characters):

Fuwa and Tetsurou Nobuaki are her twins, making them triplets. Although they are only minutes apart, she acts as the eldest child, since she is smarter and far more mature than them. In actuality, she was the last to be born. She loves her siblings very much and would risk her life to help either of them.

Trial-Related Things:

Tell: Her eyebrows will twitch.

Interjection (Every student--with a few exceptions--has an interjection that they will use during trials when they disagree with another person’s argument): Excuse me!

Love Focus (Each student also has a love focus that is their driving motivation): Familial.

Name: Fuwa Nobuaki

Ultimate Talent: Ultimate Intuition

She can determine the answer to any question with 100% accuracy, but doesn’t know why that is the answer. She also has a hard time getting people to believe her.

Appearance: Female

Height: 5′6 (167.6 cm)

Weight: 115 lbs

Background:

She was also born blind, but chose to accept the surgery for her left eye. The surgery was a failure, resulting in the loss of her left eye. She was never very social in school or anywhere else and was always left in Saya’s shadow. She acts as the middle child, but in actuality was born first.

Birthday: October 23rd (Scorpio).

Most Prized Possession: The bow she got from her grandmother when she was a baby. She intended for her to wear it in her hair, but she doesn’t like the feeling of something on her head, so she wears it around her neck. She couldn’t tell you why she likes it so much, but it still means a lot to her.

Gender/Sexuality things: Cis female; Straight

Fun Facts: She is left-handed.

Relationships:

Her twins are Saya and Tetsurou Nobuaki. She is very close to her brother, but not as much her sister. She would do anything for Tetsurou, including killing off her entire class at Hope’s Peak. She would hurt anyone that tried to hurt him and would most likely kill herself if she ever brought him harm. Her sister, however, is not the same case. She is willing to kill off her whole class to make sure her sister gets what she deserves. They have never been close, everyone always praised Saya for doing no wrong and always being the best child. She was rewarded constantly, while Fuwa was only ever punished. She wants her sister to do just one thing wrong and to feel what she had felt for years and to get her revenge.

Trial-Related Things:

Tell: She will touch her hand to her back.

Interjection: Wait just a moment!

Love Focus: Familial (and slightly romantic).

My Review of Kaguya-sama: Love is War - Season Two

Season One Review Here.

Here we go again! Those crazy kids, will they ever confess their feelings for each other?

HISTORY: Love is war! The first one to admit love is seen as weak and is thus deemed the loser in this fight. That reigns true in the minds of student body president Miyuki Shirogane and student body vice president Kaguya Shinomiya. Both of them are mad for one another, they just won’t admit it. So, Miyuki and Kaguya play mind games with one another to see if they can make the other crumble. In a war with many wins and losses, who will be the first one to admit their feelings for the other?

SEASON TWO: While the mind games are still happening, it seems like they’re going towards a cuter case (at least when it comes to Kaguya). Yes, she still covers her tracks so she comes out looking cool as a cucumber, but inside she’s a mess. We start the season off with Kaguya wanting to celebrate Miyuki’s birthday. It’s just that Miyuki is stubborn about celebrating his own birthday or even receiving gifts (due to his upbringing). And then we add a few more road-blocks to this story with the addition of new members of the student body.

Then we end this memorable era of the student council as new members are set to take place with an election. Despite the sad atmosphere with remembering all the fun stuff that occurred last season, everyone will be coming back to their old positions for the upcoming school year. I mean, this was the third episode! It would be a real cock-tease if everyone left their positions this early in the season.

NEW CHARACTER: Let’s enter the Student Council Election arc! With the disbanding of the previous student council, it’s time for the students to choose their next president, vice president, etc. Miyuki was skeptical about continuing his reign as president, but he’s going to run for a second term. While Miyuki is still popular, a first-year student is ready to take him down. In comes Miko Iino! She’s seen as a sticler for the rules. Even when she’s in the student council, she doesn’t waste time scolding every member (except Chika) about minor imperfections. Here’s what you might recognize her from.

*Miko is played by Miyu Tomita (known for Crim on Interspecies Reviewers)

LICENSING: This anime is licensed by Aniplex of America (just like season one) and is EXCLUSIVELY streamed only on FUNimation. I wouldn’t be so pissy about this if sites like Crunchyroll and Hulu hadn’t already streamed the first season from the start, but FUNimation and Sony want to keep the series all to themselves. The company’s a monster!

THE DUB: Holy crap, the unthinkable has happened and FUNimation has scrounged up an English dub to this series. But only for this season! What the shit is going on? Is it like when Crunchyroll and FUNimation shared the anime Free! for a while? Why is it only this season that’s being dubbed? Well anyways, if you’ve read my thoughts on season one, you’ll know that I had “strong” feelings towards this getting a dub. Meaning, the narrator had to be voiced by R. Bruce Elliott! Well…they did voice the narrator with someone from Space Dandy. I just didn’t expect it to be voiced by Space Dandy himself! In short, Ian Sinclair is voicing the narrator and I am okay with this. He’s no R. Bruce Elliott, but Ian Sinclair is friggin’ awesome. I actually think the dub is really good from what I’ve heard so far. There’s only a few episodes available at this date and time, but make your own decisions here. Here’s what you might recognize these folks from.

ENGLISH CAST: *Kaguya is played by Alexis Tipton (known for Honey on Space Dandy, Lala on To Love Ru, Iris on Fire Force, Mizuki on Baka and Test, Aoba on Keijo!!!!!!!!, Hana on Prison School, and Saya on Blood-C)

*Miyuki is played by Aaron Dismuke (known for Al on FMA, Hiro on Fruits Basket, Kakeru on Fruits Basket 2019, Van on Escaflowne [redub], Marx on Black Clover, and You on Deadman Wonderland)

*Chika is played by Jad Saxton (known for Charla on Fairy Tail, Hana on Fruits Basket 2019, Koneko on High School DxD, Dorothy on Black Clover, Tamaki on Fire Force, Megumi on Food Wars, and Chika on Love Live Sunshine)

*Ishigami is played by Austin Tindle (known for Accelerator on Index/Railgun, Kaneki on Tokyo Ghoul, Karma on Assassination Classroom, Marco on Attack on Titan, Natsuo on Domestic Girlfriend, and Sunakawa on My Love Story)

SHIPPING PART II: Ooh boy, we’ve got some extra cute moments between Kaguya and Miyuki this season. From Kaguya giving a slice of cake to Miyuki for his birthday to the star-gazing moment where Miyuki grabs Kaguya and things get a little too close for comfort, this season was getting a little hot and heavy! Although, we didn’t get another moment with sick Kaguya this season! And it becomes increasingly clear to both characters that it’s getting harder and harder to put up that façade in front of one another. In the case of Kaguya, she ends up going to the emergency room only to learn that her “heart condition” is just the love for the president.

Even though we don’t get any kind of love confession this season, we do get some choice moments like Kaguya becoming friends with Miyuki on LINE, Kaguya’s run-in with Miyuki’s father, and of course that awkward position in a locked room between the two star-crossed lovers. You know what I’m talking about, the misunderstanding position. Literally every high school anime has this happen at one point!

MUSIC: So…no cute ending theme like Chika’s from last season? Crabapples!

Aside from that, the first time I heard DADDY, DADDY DO, I was a little skeptical on the visuals they chose to match the music. Thankfully, that only lasted for two episodes at the most and the rest of the time I’m dancing around to this catchy theme.

And while I’m on the subject of music, has anyone else noticed the amount of 80s music references that was shown throughout the season? Maybe I’m just stuck on that episode where Kaguya is trying to vogue like Madonna.

FUNNIEST MOMENT: Underwear and man-whores! So much misunderstanding it was too much for me to contain my laughs.

ENDING: The last couple of episodes revolve around the school sport’s festival. Surprisingly, we get a fair amount of time dedicated to long-time holdout Ishigami. He ended up doing something quite surprising by joining the cheer squad and was willing to participate by dressing in drag for a skit. I find Ishigami made a cute girl. Then, we get some cute Miyuki x Kaguya shenanigans when Miyuki’s father visits the sports festival.

So the episode before the second season finale, we get a full episode dedicated to Ishigami. In episodes prior to this one, we were getting a taste of what’s up with our favorite gamer. There was talk of Ishigami being a violent psychopath in middle school with the way the faceless rumormill has been talking. Apparently when Ishigami was in middle school, he would frequently talk to this girl in his class. But then this girl gets a boyfriend! That wouldn’t bug Ishigami until he overheard that boyfriend cheating on this girl. It does get worse with what this scumbag tries to do. And that’s when Ishigami beat the crap out of him!

Unfortunately for Ishigami, his class and the girl walked in when he was pummeling the shit out of this dude. And so the truth gets warped! Especially when dude starts lying by saying Ishigami did this because he was jealous of their relationship. Because of the altercation, Ishigami was suspended from school for a time, had to see a councilor, and was forced to write a letter of apology to the jerk he beat up. That last one, he was unable to do so. If you were in his shoes, you wouldn’t write an apology letter either, you’d write a note that simply says...

“Go to hell, Dumbass”!

Amazingly, those are the exact words Miyuki told Ishigami to say to that jerk. Miyuki was the first person to open up to Ishigami after this incident. Despite the harsh time Ishigami had in middle school, after starting high school he learned who his real friends are, both from the student council and the cheer squad. I really should state that I was happy to see Ishigami get an episode revolved around him. He was introduced only half-way into season one and felt like he didn’t make that big of an impact with me. Ishigami this season stood out a lot more and I was very satisfied with the results.

Now in the final episode, Kaguya lost something dear to her. Her phone! Let me explain. She was given a flip-phone when she was 5 years old to only be used for emergencies. Kaguya really didn’t use her camera until she was in the student council and these photos are pretty special to her. So imagine her shock and horror when it falls off the school building and being told that she can’t retrieve her photos. Just as well, she had an obsolete flip-phone. Even me, with my retro media collection, I don’t own one of those! But now that Kaguya has joined the rest of society with a brand-new smart phone, she was able to join LINE and all of her friends shared with her the photos they took during those special moments Kaguya thought were going to be lost to her forever.

In the final segment, it wasn’t really anything romantic-driven. It was just another game brought on by Chika. Basically they all took turns blowing up a balloon until it pops. Or, an anime version to the Spongebob Squarepants episode, “Wet Painters” where Patrick blows a giant paint bubble. And leave it to Chika to inadvertently blow up the balloon by doing something you wouldn’t expect. It blew up, blew everyone and the school away while DADDY DADDY DO plays in the background.

We end with Kaguya and Miyuki standing up together and the narrator assuring us that the war of love is not over.

I love this series, I truly do. I just feel like the way these stories were set up, I feel as though the first season should have ended with the 3rd episode of the second season. Don’t get me wrong, I do like the ending to the first season with the firework episode. It’s just that this particular episode gave us the end of the student council, Kaguya actually called Miyuki by his first name, and with Miyuki announcing his candidcy for president again, it opens up for more to look forward to with season two. But that’s just my thought on the matter. I’m sure this was the setup in the manga, but in the 12 episode dynamic with the anime feels weird. And same can be said about having the Ishigami episode right before the season finale. I’m glad this story was told, I just wish it was placed better in the 12 episode anime season setup.

Despite my tiny gripes there, I enjoyed this season very much. There’s definitely been a lot of development between Miyuki and Kaguya this season with some overused tropes and surprising moments no one expected. I can honestly say I didn’t expect Miyuki to take Kaguya by the shoulders as he talks about stars and constellations. Although, I did expect Miyuki to freak the fuck out sometime afterward because he thought he acted like a dork. But we get the main duo get a little closer with certain moments like the star-gazing episode, Miyuki’s birthday, and Miyuki adding Kaguya to LINE. So it once again leaves us on the hopes of a season three. Unfortunately at this date and time, no word on that happening! So maybe I should go on and read one of the 15+ volumes of the manga.

If you would like to watch the second season of Kaguya-sama it seems like the only one that has it available is FUNimation, with the English dub airing once a week. But if you would like to watch the first season, Crunchyroll and Hulu have it available for streaming.

A while ago, I made a post discussing my thoughts on Nu and Lambda, in it I also described why I personally can’t ship them, even if I also said you could do mental gymnastics to ignore the Saya clone stuff (read it to understand what I mean).

But, they aren’t the only ones to have this issue; What about Noel and Celica, two more MAIN characters who have a similar issue in their storytelling.

I will go into that now, starting with Noel (beware possibly long-ass post)

Noel is one of the main characters, and one of the most important characters in the setting (to many fan’s displeasure), so of course she is highly tied to the MC Ragna, even getting a lot of shippy moments with him. This is in spite of her being a Murakumo.

Now in my Nu and Lambda thing I said that b/c Ars Magus is weird and not an exact science and seem to be made from Saya’s soul not her DNA you could do mental gymnastics to ignore that and make the shipping okay. Could you do that with Noel? I say NO.

Not only is Noel MUCH closer to Saya (seriously put a picture of her next to young Saya from flashbacks and she looks exactly like what she’d grow up to be), but she is also apparently made from the largest chunk of her soul.

The games seem to go along this thought process with her:

Noel is a Murakumo -> Noel is not human -> Noel is a weapon -> cue angst

but the fans have the thought process of

Noel is a Murakumo -> Murakumo Units are clones of Saya -> Saya is Ragna’s sister -> Murakumo Units are clones of Ragna’s sister -> they are Ragna’s sisters.

This gets even more stupid once Izanami comes in and we learn SHE is Saya, not Noel (her being an amnesiac Saya would’ve made things much easier), because then it is like “See, Noel isn’t Saya, THAT’S Saya!”. Also Blazblue has a while thing about roles, like Ragna has ONE little brother and ONE little sister: Jin and Saya, respectively. But fans say he can have multiple little sisters but the story doesn’t because “roles” or whatever (using the weird stage terms that Rachel and Amane use).

Like, here is an idea I had for CS’ plot with more emphasis on Noel actually being Saya rather than just a clone/copy, or at least more focus on her connection with Ragna to HAVE that sibling instead of just taking the “I am not human” thing from the Murakumo:

They escape from the Cauldron at the end of CT, and Ragna now gets a god look at her, maybe he does think that this IS Saya, and you can have a bit of an emotional scene here, but Noel runs off b/c A. she is still shy girl and a MAN is so close to her, and B. this is still the SS-Class Criminal Ragna the Bloodedge. A bit of angst there because Ragna supposedly thought something horrible happened to Saya (based on a flashback in CF with Jubei).

Much, MUCH later, he can meet up with Noel again, before she is kidnapped by Terumi for the final act of being the Godslayer, maybe with Makoto there. This is where they can actually talk and bond for a bit so Ragna has an actual reason to go running off an saving her. This is where Ragna can explain his little sister to the two, maybe thinking that he got Noel confused for Saya since she looks just like her.

But, then they start piecing together everything. Noel has weird memories of Ragna, and she has amnesia from before the destruction of Ibukido after the Ikaruga Civil War. SO, what if Noel IS just an Amnesiac Saya who has trauma induced amnesia from the Ibukido stuff? This is great for Noel because all this time she might also be worried about her humanity after the shit with Nu in CT’s true ending, and maybe a cryptic line from Terumi/Hazama, but now with this information, she reaffirms that she is HUMAN, she has a family (imagine the reaction when she learns that major dickbag Kisaragi is her big brother). We could then maybe cut back to someone watching them cryptically commentating, and when we cut back Noel is in the middle of telling Ragna, her newly re-discovered big brother, about what she’s been up to, her adoptive family and her time at the Military Academy. Maybe here we could also have a gag reel where, like a later one where they try and help Celica improve her sense of direction, Ragna and Noel cook something. We get some fun-sibling time and get to see Ragna’s cooking hobby in semi-canon action. He’d call her Saya, but everyone else calls her Noel since that’s what they know her as (think of it similar to how Vegeta calls Goku by his Sayan name “Kakarot” while everyone else just calls him his Earth name).

THEN we have Terumi come in and kidnap her.

Rachel stops Ragna from running after them for cryptic warning BS, then the fight with Jin, then the fight with Terumi, etc. everything happens the same from there. Only it isn’t some random stranger who Ragna all of a sudden is risking his life for, this is the little sister he lost so long ago.

Then comes the shit with Izanami. One idea that had was that Noel IS still a Murakumo AND Saya, but she is Saya’s good half fragmented off when Izanami was made. Izanami is one part the Origin’s Drive and one part Saya’s Darkness. So Noel breaking off from Saya is kind of like M.Bison from Street Fighter removing all the good from his soul to use Psycho Power, resulting in Rose.

Then in CP, we can have an extra layer of conflict because Noel is trying to save Tsubaki, who points out that she is affiliated with a wanted criminal, Ragna the Bloodedge. Remember, Noel just wants to be a normal girl with a normal life. She already has the issue of her humanity with being a Murakumo, but then you have the more societal BS of being related to a super criminal. She cannot be “normal girl“ Noel Vermilion, AND friends with Ragna the Bloodedge, SS-Class Criminal at the same time.

Tell me that wouldn’t all be a really good alternative.

Also being able to refer to the three MCs as “The Siblings” is just so much easier.

and then we got Celica A. Mercury.

she flops back and forth between, Ragna’s mom, and Ragna’s love interest.

Celica A. Mercury in Blazblue Chronophantasma, is well, a Chronophantasma. A copy of someone who isn’t supposed to be alive in the current timeline. Specifically, Celica is the younger sister of the Great Sage Nine, one of the Six Heroes who defeated the Black Beast 100 years before the setting of the games. the ORIGINAL Celica, after the Six Heroes were almost wiped out by Terumi, proceeded to become a nun/sister in a church built over the remains of the Black Beast’s corpse, as she has a unique Order power to nullify seithr. With her healing magic keeping her young and healthy she lived there alone until Jubei brought the three siblings, Ragna Jin and Saya, to be under her care for an undisclosed amount of time. This is where people get her being Ragna’s mom, even thought nuns/sisters are more just general caretakers instead of parents, but she is still a female maternal figure who looked after Ragna so you can see where people get that.

But then you get “teen” Celica, the one the games show in the story. She is from the Dark War, where she actually met Ragna first. Ragna was sent back in time, with Amnesia, to fill the role of the unsung 7th Hero “Bloodedge” and stop the Black Beast for a year allowing Nine to arm humanity with Ars Magus. Celica apparently fell in love with him because she is very affectionate and familiar with Ragna once she is brought to the future as a Chronophantasma.

The story really does ping pong between her being very motherly, specifically her scolding Ragna and Jin for fighting in CP, and just being a naive child, see her complaining when people get on her case about her awful sense of direction. But it is really hard because the image of the sister seems to flash over her, which the other characters seem to notice, but much like Noel and Saya, no one in the story EVER seems to connect the dots and have that change the relationship between them.

Now I personally don’t like the ship because she is a naive child in a woman’s body, with the stupid no sense of direction gag, to her scolding Ragna and Jin as if they were Natsu and Gray from Fairy Tail who are just fighting for some dick measuring contest when we all KNOW the actual reason is more complicated but the story just seems to abandon that and GGRRRR!!!

But, looking at Celica, really you can;t do the whole “Schrodinger’s Relationship” thing like they’re doing with Saya and Noel and the Murakumos. They need to COMMIT, to a role.

If Celica is Ragna’s MOM, no ifs and or buts, then 1. They need to make her less of a cutesy child. and 2. Maybe age up her design, Litchi has the design vibe of someone who is “older” than the cast, maybe something similar to that. Just imagine another angsty scene of Ragna meeting this woman who has the same face as the Sister who raised him who he KNOWS 100% is dead, so no mistaken identity shit like I already suggested with Saya/Noel, and her looking at him with her face is just MOCKING him, especially since his first two meetings with her in CP are after he gets his ass kicked (once after he is sent back in time after Nu kicking his butt, and once after Kagura knocks him out and arrests him). Also you’d have to undo ALL ship teasing in Phase Shift, or just use one of my friend’s ideas and just have Ragna be a reincarnation of Bloodedge instead of going back in time.

If you want Celica to be the cute girl love interest, and this is the option I feel most people would want either b/c shipping or the cute girl waifu factor that Japan likes (I base some of m reasoning based on “could this be made”, then you’d have to undo all connections between Celica and the Sister. My simple idea was instead of Celica living all those years she dies there, but Nine also had a bunch of other caretakers go with her to help take care of the church. I mean Nine is one of the Great Sages AND a member of the Six Heroes you’re telling em she wouldn’t use some of tat fame and authority to make sure his little sister is safe when she is all alone out there. Seems almost out of character with how fiercely protective Nine was of Celica. Of course this all means that the Sister that raises Ragna and the siblings is less important as she is just a nameless backstory character in a similar vein to Noel’s adoptive Parents, but is is a much easier thing to do than the previous option.

Either of those two options are good IMO, but I still think Celica needs to grow up a bit and release how much everyone around her is an asshole before I can fully ship her and Ragna.

So, what do you guys think? Noel being fully Ragna’s sister leading to much more interesting plot stuff, and Celica committing to either the cute girl love interest or mom role. I feel lkike my ideas are good, but what d you guys think?

Dare

I wrote a sad KyoSaya oneshot.

There’s lots of angst. Sorry.

Sayaka slid into her desk chair with a sigh. “Ugh, schoolwork is so boring,” she complained to no one in particular. She opened the lid of her computer, and entered her password in a blur. She’d finished her homework with Madoka, time to scroll through tumblr and talk to people! She’d missed befriending strangers on the internet. And maybe Kyoko would be online.

It had seemed like her girlfriend was avoiding her, and their most frequent interactions nowadays were reblogging and liking each other’s posts on tumblr, and if Sayaka texted first, late nights spent talking for hours upon hours about nothing and everything. However, Sayaka eagerly snapped up even these snippets of conversation, when they forgot themselves and easily fell back into their old rhythms just as they did before Kyoko distanced herself.

Her shoulders sagged as she opened Google and typed in tumblr. She took a breath and forced herself into her usual cheerful posture and smile. It’s fine, I’m fine, nothing’s wrong, I’m okay. It worked, at least for the time being. She shook her light blue hair over one shoulder. It was growing long in quarantine, and she quite liked it. Sayaka logged in to tumblr and was greeted by her familiar blue dashboard. She clicked the blue ‘create a post’ pencil and started recording a video.

She grinned, letting go of her fears and worries and insecurities, and for a moment, she was actually fine. The grin slowly became more genuine as the camera started rolling.

“Hey everyone, Oktavia here! Sorry it’s been a while since my last post, I’ve been really busy with school and stuff. As always, make sure to drop me an ask or DM if you have a request for what character I should draw next. The top three as of today are-” she consulted a piece of blank loose leaf paper, though her viewers didn’t know that. She’d committed the list to memory and the paper was just a prop. “They are… in third place, Keefe Sencen from Keeper of the Lost Cities, requested by an anon. Sorry anon, never read the series. I’ll look up some reference art and post the finished product by tomorrow night, though! Uraraka Ochako from My Hero Academia (requested by lilywritesfanfic is in second place, and I’ll livestream drawing her on Saturday. And finally, our first place winner- Spider-Man, requested by eva-the-demon07. I’ll post a drawing of him tonight! Have an absolutely incredible day, everyone! Bye!” she waved at the camera with one hand, then clicked post with the other.

She slumped down in her chair, satisfied. Within seconds, comments started rolling in. We love you, Oktavia! Take as much time as you need, remember, you’re not obligated to draw for us. I love your drawings, but you’re more important, take care of yourself, okay? You’re amazing, Oktavia!

Her need for validation filled, she clicked over to Kyoko’s blog and was greeted with several new posts. Her cell phone lit up with a text just as she was clicking on the first one. Sayaka groaned and picked it up. There was a new text from Kyoko and two new ones joined it on her screen. She tapped on them immediately. Kyoko had written ‘idk how to break up with people properly ive never done it before but im breaking up with u’ and then ‘i dont love u anymore’ and then ‘theres someone else’.

Kyoko was breaking up with her? There was ‘someone else’?

“Are you kidding me?” she didn’t realize she said it out loud until she heard it. “There’s someone else? Just how long has this ‘someone else’ been someone else?” she snarled at her phone, tossing it onto her desk.

Sayaka flopped onto her bed, shocked. A tear leaked out of her eye and she angrily swiped it away. She lifted her right hand, seeing her bright blue Soul Gem growing dark with sadness and bitterness.

A knock on her bedroom door came.

“Come in,” she said listlessly. She made no effort to sit up or disguise the fact that she was crying. A red-haired girl with a ponytail stepped into the room, her usual bravado tinted with slight shame.

“What the hell do you want?” Sayaka stood up, the venom in her voice surprising her. She stalked over to Kyoko.

“Just hear me out, Saya-” Kyoko started.

“I care enough about you that I will. But after that, get out of my life forever,” Sayaka snapped.

“It was a dare!” Kyoko burst out. “It was a stupid dare, just a game. I didn’t mean it.”

“You didn’t mean any of it.” The words came out hard and cold. “It was all just a dare. That makes sense- you never loved me. You were just playing with me for a year.”

“Saya- I wasn’t-” Kyoko clearly hadn’t meant for it to go like this.

“Leave me alone, Kyoko!” Sayaka shouted, her voice breaking. “We’re done.”

Kyoko stumbled backwards in shock. “Wait, no! But Sayaka-”

“Just go! I can’t believe I fell for your act!” Sayaka ushered her out of the room and slammed the door. She braced herself against the inside of the door and slid to the ground. She opened her hand, revealing her previously bright Soul Gem a dark midnight blue. It was almost completely corrupted.

Sayaka sighed with regret, and closed her eyes. She could feel her Soul Gem cracking, and when it shattered into a Grief Seed, she didn’t feel anything at all.

“Kyoko,” she whispered. And then she fell to the floor.

On the other side of the door, Kyoko slammed the side of her fist against the wall.

“Damn it,” she swore, anguish in every word. “Why did it have to go like that?”

A witch’s labyrinth expanded through the door, and Kyoko gasped, swiveling around to stare at it.

“Damn it! Sayaka!” she called. “Sayaka, can you hear me?” Receiving no reply, she transformed, and slammed the dull end of her spear against the door, and it collapsed inward painfully slowly. “Sayaka!”

She broke through the door at last. Sayaka was crumpled on the floor in front of it.

“Sayaka, no! This can’t be happening.” Kyoko tentatively turned Sayaka over, noting the lack of Soul Gem. “No!” She knew what had happened. Sayaka had succumbed to despair and turned into a witch, and it was all her fault.

Tears slid down her cheeks as she released Sayaka.

“I love you,” she choked out. But it was too late.

How to get around Prague?

Prague merupakan kota yang nyaman untuk dilejajah dengan berjalan kaki, tempat-tempat wisatanya juga relatif dekat. Arsitektur yang cantik membuat saya lupa sudah berjalan jauh. Namun disaat lelah, public transport yang murah dan tepat waktu selalu ada di tiap penjuru.

Kereta Metro beroperasi setiap hari dari jam 5 pagi – 12 malam

1. Old Town Square

Sesuai dengan namanya ‘Old Town’, alun-alun ini dikelilingi bangunan-bangunan tua bersejarah, ada gereja Tyn dan St. Nicholas, Astronomical Clock dan Jan Hus Monument. Mungkin jika namanya ‘Young Town’, bakal banyak mama-mama muda.

Pagi itu ketika matahari belum beranjak tinggi, langit seakan tertutup embun. Saya menikmati kota tua dalam keheningan. Keheningan yang segera beralih menjadi pusat keramaian di siang hari.

2. Cafe Milani

Saya mengawali hari dengan sarapan di Cafe Milani, kafe kecil yang ngangeti. Aroma kopi menguar saat saya melangkah masuk. Dengan wajah beku, saya mencari kehangatan di sofa sudut kafe.

Tak lama setelah order, perpaduan sepotong cheese cake dan seteguk hot espresso lumer di dalam mulut. Meleleh bagaikan lava yang lembut. Dari mulut mereka bercinta di perut. Sebuah kebahagiaan kecil di pagi yang sederhana.

Menengok cerita bagaimana Steve Jobs memulai Apple pertama kali. Berawal dari garasi rumahnya yang kecil, hingga kini menjadi perusahaan teknologi terkaya di dunia. Gimana gak kaya, biaya pembuatan iPhone 11 Pro per bijinya $159 dijual $1099. Margin keuntungan besar dengan produk yang sangat laris. Boom!

This is the place where Peter finally tells his secret and MJ spouting off facts about how they’d execute people on Charles Bridge and loving the Black Dahlia murder like. Awkward but really cute. Dark sense of humor on the most romantic bridge in Europe. That Peter and MJ kiss was romantic and shows how weird teenage relationships can be. And i love what she said in the end before the perfect kiss: ‘I don’t think i deserved that kind of happiness. I dont have much luck when it comes to getting close to people’.

I felt her.

Make sure to touch the statue of St. John Nepomuk. Touching the statue is a must ritual. It’s supposed to bring good luck and to ensure that you return to Prague

5. John Lennon Wall

Many might think of it as a simply graffiti, but it means much more than that. Toward the end of Communism in the 1980s, students started writing John Lennon lyrics on this wall as a way to air their grievances. Today, the wall represents love and peace

Di tahun 1980, para pelajar menyuarakan kegelisahan pada komunisme dengan coretan di tembok ini. Mereka menulis potongan lirik lagu The Beattles yang mewakili isi hati mereka.

Lirik lagu yang ditulis oleh sang vokalis John Lennon, yang saat itu baru saja tewas ditembak oleh fansnya sendiri. Kini, dinding grafiti ini menjadi magnet wisata yang melambangkan cinta dan perdamaian.

It was an autumn morning. The loveliest season of the year. Musim dimana daun-daun berganti warna dan jatuh perlahan. Musim dimana taman publik terlihat begitu indah.

Salah satunya di area Malá Strana ini. Saya duduk sejenak di bangku taman di bawah pepohonan. Kaki yang beristirahat, pikiran yang relaks dan hati yang bersenandung.

6. Kafka Museum

Saya mendengar gemercik air saat berjalan mendekati museum. Tadinya saya pikir itu suara air sungai, ternyata air pipis. Pipis dari 2 patung yang pinggulnya bisa goyang-goyang sendiri. Air seninya mengalir ke dalam kolam berbentuk peta Republik Ceko. Tentunya bukan air seni asli.

Franz Kafka merupakan penulis novel paling tenar dari abad ke-20. Sayangnya semasa hidupnya, penulis yang lahir di Prague ini belum sempat menikmati ketenaran. Bahkan menjelang kematiannya, Kafka sempat meminta temannya untuk menghancurkan semua tulisannya. Tampaknya Kafka introvert sejati.

Tak mengindahkan permintaanya, sohibnya malah menerbitkan tulisannya dan memberi kredit penuh kepada Kafka. Salah satu karyanya yang paling mendunia adalah ‘The Metamorphosis’. Kini, patung dan museum yang didedikasikan untuknya, berdiri di tiap sudut kota Praha.

Di sebelah museum terdapat toko roti kecil yang unyu. Mereka menjual berbagai cookie yang terlalu menggemaskan untuk dikunyah. Dari segi rasa si biasa aja. Jadi jangan beli banyak-banyak. Cukup beli 1-2 untuk di update di instagram dan ngemil di jalan.

Most contented-looking Swans I’ve ever seen

Saya sempat mendekati angsa putih yang cantik. Saya mengagumi keanggunannya dan mengabadikannya. Beberapa saat kemudian, entah kenapa dia memalingkan wajah dan pergi menjauh. Ditinggal pas lagi sange-sangenya memang menyedihkan.

Mungkin juga karena angsa hewan yang setia. Dari yang saya baca, jika angsa sudah bertemu jodohnya, dia akan setia seumur hidup. Ga akan gonta-ganti pasangan kecuali kekasihnya meninggal atau tidak bisa berkembang biak. Hmmm… mungkin karena itu dia menghindari Oppa.

8. St. Nicholas Church at Malá Strana

The greatest Baroque church in Prague. The carving all along the side and front of the church are quite remarkable

Gereja Barok terbesar dan terindah di Praha. Bahkan Mozart pernah main organ disini. Gereja yang didedikasikan khusus untuk St. Nicholas of Myra. Santo yang semasa hidupnya banyak melakukan mukjizat dan mencintai anak-anak. Kebiasaannya yang suka memberi hadiah, menginspirasi lahirnya nama ‘Santa Claus’. Diambil dari panggilan sayangnya ‘Saint Nick’.

The dome has a massive diameter of 20 metres, and the interior height to the top of the lantern is over 49 metres, making it the highest interior in Prague. Franz Palko painted the Celebration of the Holy Trinity on the ceiling of the dome. This is a visual masterpiece

The interior has statues and decorations in marble and gold and frescoes. On the ceiling of the ship, Jan Lukáš Kracker painted a fresco about the life of Saint Nicholas with an area of 1500 m²

Begitu masuk, dekorasi marble berlapis emas membuat saya terkesima. Langit-langit kubah setinggi 75 meter itu bersinergi dengan fresko ‘the Celebration of the Holy Trinity’. Lukisan yang menggambarkan Allah Tritunggal, Bapa Anak dan Roh Kudus merupakan 3 pribadi dalam 1 Ketuhanan.

Kostel sv. Mikuláše

Elegant church that was started in 1745 & took 100 years & 3 generations of architects to complete

9. Prague Castle – St. Vitus Cathedral

Berdasarkan Guinness World Records, Prague Castle merupakan istana kuno terbesar di dunia. Kastil seluas 45 hektar ini berdiri diatas bukit, melingkupi cakrawala kota. Area istana yang dulunya tempat tinggal para raja ini terdiri dari katedral, menara dan taman yang luas. Kemegahannya membuat saya bermimpi untuk menikah disini. Tolong bantu saya Bill Gates.

St. Vitus Cathedral merupakan bangunan tercantik di istana ini. Gereja sekaligus makam bagi santo Vitrus dan raja Bohemia Wenceslas. Gereja yang dibangun pada tahun 1344 ini terlihat begitu elegan. Gereja yang menjadi saksi sejarah ‘Defenestrations of Prague’.

Pada tahun 1618, massa yang muak diperintah oleh the Catholics Hapsburgs of Austria, melempar keluar gubernur kerajaan dari jendela lantai 3 setinggi 21 meter. Entah bagaimana, dia mendarat di tumpukan sampah dan selamat. Peristiwa yang menyebabkan dimulainya Perang 30 tahun.

‘This is awesome’ ujar saya setengah berbisik saat memasuki gereja yang begitu magis.

Tak hanya interior, pemandangan kota dari puncak menara juga menakjubkan. Setelah setengah bengek menaiki 287 anak tangga spiral yang sempit, saya berdiri terdiam sesaat, menikmati keindahan yang tak terbantahkan.

11. Vyšehrad

Vyšehrad was settled in the mid-10th century, and was even the seat of the first king of Bohemia. This area offers good upriver views of the city. It’s beautiful!

13. Saint Peter and Paul Basilica

The church is the center point of Vysehrad. This lovely old cathedral is like a mini version of St. Vitus. Even though it’s not small at all. Its 58 meters high twin towers can be seen along the Vltava River in central Prague

omg you admire my dedication……. an angel thank you so much!! when i get into a show that i like i make sure to watch at least one episode a day, i don’t know why it’s just how my brain works and i thought it was dumb but apparently i’m just dedicated :D if you really want to, why not watch it a second time around!! you might catch some stuff you didn't the first time!! it might be smart to wait to rewatch until we're closer to season two so everything is fresh in your mind!! that’s actually a really solid way to go about things, and i’m glad it works out like that for you. i already told you i’m a hare brain when it comes to this stuff - i’ll rewatch shows i haven’t even finished lol, and i rewatch shows i’ve finished in sporadic bits because they’re comforting (i did that a lot during quarantine). i want to rewatch, but i want to time it right, you know? like during a time i can afford to get immersed in it, maybe after i’ve finished some shows that i should finish (i need to make a list for the summer...). also, i heard the release date for season 2 got pushed back to 2022 instead of 2021 because of covid...i don’t know if that’s confirmed though.

!!spoilers for the arthdal chronicles incoming!! my feelings for the characters in arthdal have literally changed so much. in one moment i’ll admire a character and then absolutely hate them the next and it’s a lot of fun LOL despite that my feelings have never changed for eunseom! i’ve always admired him and i have a lot of faith in him and he’s just such a good person! i know, it’s like a normal kdrama but it really feels like you’ve watched 3 kdramas in one, because of length and how much happens. eunseom is everyone’s no 1 boy, honestly. he never did anything wrong *insert that meme, or whatever*.

that being said, i’m still a little scared of him being inaishingi and basically ruling the entirety of the ago tribe because as we’ve learned from the show, being in a position of power corrupts you, no matter what your intentions are so i’m a lil nervous but then i also remember that eunseom is eunseom so i’m worried for nothing lol (3/9)

(side note but i’ll be talking about this from memory and it’s been like 10 months SO) but even though he’s like a god, he’s not actually a god, not yet. and eunseom at his core is good - that being said, i know what you mean; honestly haven’t thought about that. i’m more scared that he won’t know how to lead, or that he’s not exactly equipped to lead a rebellion - more like i’m worried he might act in his own self interest instead of for all of ago, if you know what i mean? because he’s leading this whole group he’s not actually a part of.

i also like dalsae, xabara, tanya, chaeuun and the neanthals!!! i have so much to say about the neanthals omg i really wish we saw more of them but i also understand why we don’t. they’ve almost been completely wiped out of existence so they don’t really get involved with anything which i completely understand, i just wish!!!! that when rottip met eunseom that he would’ve said or done something. i waited all season for that moment, waiting for it to maybe happen and rottip just walked away (4/9

i understand why but :/ ipsaeng is kind of a bastard but i still like him a lil bit. i also really like mubaek and yangcha even though they’re like. bad guys and members of the daekan forces (5/9)

one moment, i have to go remind myself who dalsae is...and oh, right, i do like him a lot! ipsaeng is pretty funny himself. and yes!!! the females in this show were awesome, especially xabara and chaeun and nunbyeol (tanya and taelha get their own category). yes!! when rottip and eunseom met, i really thought he would matter more to them, but i kind of understand why it went down like that...i think the other (hot) neanthal reminded rottip that they couldn’t really connect? ah, it was something like that. i had complicated feelings about it as well, but i hope that they’ll meet again in season 2 (and i hope nunbyeol wrecks arth with her sword, i remember when we first saw her fight with a sword in neanthal form; i was s c r e a m i n g).

mubaek is good, but also annoying. he knows this, but he’s complicit in all the evil actions going on. like, man, if you know that much, you should use it to do something. knowledge is power! but he preferred to be sidelined and not do anything. yangcha is so hot...seriously, but i think he’s so interesting. the fandom needs to know why he has a mask on, there’s so many theories. i love how tanya could read his thoughts, but we still didn’t get many of them, but i think it shows how he’ll be more of a main character (hopefully) in season 2.

i know you asked for characters i like but i can’t help but mention the one character that i absolutely DESPISE. like saying i despise him doesn’t even truly explain my feelings for him (6/9)

I CANNOT STAND MUNGTAE he’s literal scum i hate him so much…. the fact that he betrayed eunseom and dalsae when they were literally coming to rescue him!! OH MY GOD and then everything that happened with teodae and eunseom having to see it and being traumatized by it………. i hate mungtae and i wish i wish he would face the actions of his consequences but there is no justice in arthdal so he will most likely get away scot free (7/9)

MUNGTAE CAN PERISH. he needed to have died in episode 1 seriously. it’s fine if you’re a coward, but not a snitch...everyone’s afraid, but at least they have a concept of loyalty. omg...teodae, the fact that eunseom got so traumatized by that made me want to sob. imagine you have a friend who you want to help save, but such friend loves their mind because of the situation they’re in and begins to believe the lies about you, tries to kill you, and then kills themselves in front of you...every episode of this show should have been titled: eunseom is wrecked and traumatized. again. part xx.

honestly, my hope is that tanya or eunseom straight up murders him. or dalsae. he can’t survive season 2, not on my watch.

a lot of people were complaining about the ending being vague or just not good in general, but i thought it was the perfect ending! the ending was relatively lackluster in the sense that nothing too crazy took place and what’s gonna happen next season was laid out relatively clear? i mean tagon wants to conquer the east and made a point to mention the ago tribe so i think we’re going see like eunseom’s return (?) as in he’s gonna actively become a problem for those in power in arth again (8/9)

i didn’t actually know people were saying that, because i thought the ending was so good. in my opinion, the whole finale of it serves to do two things which are a) tie up loose ends for season one and b) establish the continuation needed for season 2. arth was always going to continue, but it also builds suspense for season 2: there’s going to be a war, but tanya and eunseom are on different sides. saya knows he has a twin. AND there’s that awful women spy...she can perish as well. us clowns watching the show for the first time really thought we were going to get an eunseom and tanya reunion...we were played.

i’ve mainly watched like movies or variety shows for idols that i like but for some reason i never really got into kdramas until like right now. i’ve only seen 4 in total LOL but i’ve liked all of the shows that i’ve watched so i can’t complain. i’ve seen hello monster, arthdal, prison playbook and chocolate! (9/9)

oh, seriously? that’s amazing! i’ve watched 3/4, and right now i’m actually skimming through chocolate - i’m not really a fan of all the melo nonsense they have going on, so i’m mostly watching it for the sibling scenes and jun’s scenes haha...

and i’ve got this all in one ask, yes.

saehyung is my new otp they are so cute like 🥺💕

daehyung was a good boyfriend. he always waited for sae to be done with ballet, he always walked her hime, and he always was there for her. even if she didn’t need it, if she wanted daehyung he was at her doorstep in minutes. he was always kind and caring towards her.

so when she got hurt at ballet, she knew she shouldn’t even bother calling anyone else. she knew daehyung was waiting for her outside with a juice box and a snack, he did that everyday she had ballet. he was worried about her blood sugar or something. sae didn’t quite get the juice and snack part, she wasn’t seven years old, but it was sweet nonetheless.

he was with her within seconds of hurting ankle. she was a bit hysterical, it was always disorienting to fall on your butt and have a shooting pain up your ankle.

“does it hurt when i do this?” daehyung asked, gently moving her toes.

“a little.” sae groaned. “ow dae!” she hissed when he accidentally moved it too much.

“sorry sorry. i should take you to your ka-san’s hospital. you need an x-ray.” daehyung informed.

“thank you for coming daehyung, you are always such a sweet boy.” sae’s teacher cooed. she had hated daehyung at first. his black clothes and pierced ears had worried her a bit at first, but she had come around when she noticed how sweet he was. everyone did.

“of course ma’am. i care about sae a lot.” sae blushed at his confession to her teacher. “come on sae. i’ll give you a piggy back ride.” daehyung bent down and let sae climb onto his back.

“i’m too heavy.” sae whined.

“no your not. you forget your awesome boyfriend goes to the gym every morning.” daehyung teased.

“you do have a surprisingly good set of abs.”

“okay sae tmi.” sae’s classmate groaned, it was only then that she realized they were still the center of attention and she just said that in front of her ballet classmates. “here’s sae’s stuff.” daehyung nodded and accepted his girlfriend’s dance bag, having her put it over his shoulder so he could still hold sae.

“we need to get there before your ka-san’s shift ends.” daehyung informed. “why don’t you text her while i walk?”

“okay.” sae, who hadn’t let go of her phone since she fell, nodded and to text her mother. “dae?”

“hm?” daehyung asked.

“why are you so sweet to me? don’t just say it’s because i’m your girlfriend you were like this before too.” sae asked, looking at the sky as her boyfriend carried her.

“well i wasn’t always like this. as kids i was a bit mean to you. i’m sorry for that.”

“you were mean to saya too tough? and i don’t see you carrying her.” sae asked.

“no saya deserved it i’m not sorry to saya.” daehyung rolled his eyes. “saki was the only one of you i even bothered to pay attention to. and i feel bad about it. but i don’t just take care of you because i feel bad. i also, i really like you sae. and i don’t want to screw this up by being a jerk like a normally do.” sae could see her boyfriend’s blush.

“daehyung... thank you.” sae wrapped her hands around her boyfriends neck from behind. “i love you.” sae had never said it before, but this felt like the perfect moment. the sunset was beautiful and he had been so sweet. plus he was carrying her on his back all the way to the hospital to get an x-ray. sae realized there was no better time to say it.

“i love you too sae.”

Ranking the next 5 animes I’ve recently watched

After many distractions on my part, including playing through Steins;Gate, something that has quickly become something I adore like few others, I’ve continued my descent into the world of anime with 5 more series. The stuff I watched was a lot shorter on average than last time, and my attempts to be “objective” and my personal biases align much more closely compared to last time. With that, I’ll begin. 5. Soni-Ani: Super Sonico the Animation

Number of episodes: 12. Language options: subs only. Streaming availability: Crunchyroll. When it comes to visual novels, nitro+ is one of the biggest developers out there, alongside Key. Whereas Key is mainly out to make you really, really sad, nitro+ prefers a different approach. To my understanding, at best, their works are really, really dark, and at worst, they’re going straight for your nightmares, with stuff like Song of Saya and Sweet Pool. So clearly, the best mascot for them is the pink haired, constantly headphoned, and downright adorable Super Sonico. Even if it’s not outright official, it’s pretty jarring. Anyway, with that little rant out of the way, here’s the only thing on this list I actually wouldn’t recommend. Produced by White Fox back in 2014, this anime apparently got slammed pretty hard, and honestly, I have no idea why I even ended up watching this one. Perhaps this’ll be a reminder to be less impulsive in my choices in the future. Soni-Ani focuses on, who else, Super Sonico herself, an energetic and kind, yet clumsy college student who should reasonably be dead from stress and exhaustion. Along with college, she’s an idol, gravure model, helper at her grandmother’s restaurant and guitarist and main singer in the band First Astronomical Velocity with her friends Suzu Fujimi, the witty and manipulative bassist and official leader of the band, and Fuuri Watanuki, the mysterious drummer single mindedly obsessed with food. The series just explores some of the odd, extremely fanservice filled days of her life. It’s ok idea on paper, but in practice it’s just not really anything special or even entertaining for the most part. While I can usually ignore fanservice, it’s downright distractingly prevalent in the earlier episodes, to the point of several episode premises pretty much only catering themselves to it. Even without that, there’s just not much to be found; aside from Suzu and Sonico’s manager, the honestly hilarious Kitamura, who constantly wears a hannya mask and is willing to attack people for attempting to take advantage of Sonico, the characters aren’t anything memorable or entertaining on their own, leaving a lot of episodes feeling dry. They do improve in the second half, featuring episodes like a fairly charming murder mystery spoof, and an episode focusing on Sonico’s cats, of all things, but they’re still not something going out of your way to watch. The voice acting and animation, while at least ok, don’t stick out much either. Overall, again, this is the one thing I’d say to just avoid. There’s tons of other slice of life animes out there that are way better. If nothing else, though, I’m kinda glad I stuck to it just for the surprise cameo by Kurisu Makise’s outfit, considering I was already playing Steins;Gate.

4. Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun

Number of episodes: 12. Language options: dub (video release only, apparently) and subs available. Streaming availability: Crunchyroll, Hulu, Netflix. Moving onto stuff I’d actually recommend, here’s a nice little anime adaptation of a gag manga by Izumi Tsubaki, produced by Dogakobo. Chiyo Sakura, a high school student who stands at an impressive 4′9″, confesses her love to the tall and mysterious Umetaro Nozaki, and gets his autograph, of all things, for her troubles. Trying again, Nozaki instead takes her to his apartment... to assist him with his manga. As it turns out, Nozaki is a popular romance manga author, whose interests in life start an end at manga, rendering him utterly oblivious to Chiyo’s feelings. Thusly, Chiyo officially becomes his assistant in order to grow closer to her crush, meeting his other associates along the way. The main thing that must be said is that this is not a serious anime in the slightest, and it’s all just big parody of romance manga more than anything, especially with the characters, like Mikoshiba, who acts like a playboy, but in reality is cripplingly shy, and Kashima, the “prince” of the school who is both actually a girl and an airhead who’s frequently on the nerves of the drama club’s president, Hori. A lot of the humor thrives on miscommunication, and it’s exaggerated enough that it works well. Every character is an idiot, in their own ways, but endearingly so, and each of them stands out, from Chiyo, who mostly plays the straight man but has her moments of over imagination, or the hilariously abrasive Seo. The plots are the right kind of dumb too, like Nozaki and Mikoshiba becoming obsessed over a helper NPC in a dating sim, or Hori gaining an intense hatred for people standing on boxes due to Nozaki’s attempts to fix perspective problems. The jokes can get a bit predictable after a while, especially with Nozaki, but overall it’s a pretty funny time. The voice acting is good, and the animation is charming. Overall, this is definitely a fun watch. If you want a good laugh, or just something that doesn’t take itself too seriously, this is definitely something to check out. 3. Angel Beats!

Number of episodes: 13 (+ some OVAs not on streaming services). Language options: dub and subs available. Streaming availability: Netflix, Crunchyroll, Funimation. As it turned out, visual novels, or at least visual novel developers, became a theme in the things I watched this time around. As mentioned before, Key is one of the biggest VN developers out there, who specialize in making you really sad. From Kanon, to Clannad, to Planetarian, to Little Busters, Key’s made a lot of great stuff, and had some great anime adaptations made, particularly for Kanon and Clannad. Thus, Jun Maeda, co-founder of Key, conceived Angel Beats to originate as an anime, produced by P.A. Works in 2010. Angel Beats focuses on Otonashi, a teenager who wakes up in a strange high school with amnesia, only able to remember his last name. He soon meets a girl named Yuri Nakamura, who informs him that they’re dead, and stuck in a sort of afterlife, seemingly ruled over by a mysterious girl they only know as Angel. In this purgatory, they’re unable to die, as Otonashi finds out first hand at Angel’s hands, and the school is populated by fabricated teachers and students, but the real people stuck there are at risk of being “obliterated” if they act like normal students, ceasing to exist. Unwilling to accept this, Yuri leads class SSS in opposition of Angel and the assumed God that created this world for the cruel fates that everyone stuck in the afterlife met, Otonashi seemingly included. With seemingly no other path to take, Otonashi joins forces with the SSS. The main strength of Angel Beats is its cast of characters. From the pretty mean yet charming Yuri, to the reliable, yet often abused Hinata, to the crazy and energetic Yui, to even some of the side characters, like Shiina, the ninja girl with a crippling weakness for wind up dog toys, or TK, who speaks in gloriously mangled English and dances constantly. The premise as well is honestly fascinating to me, and makes for some very interesting episodes. It’s got some pretty entertaining action scenes, along with some really funny moments, mostly by playing the “nobody can actually die” tidbit for all its worth, with the second episode devoting a good amount of time to slowly killing off the main group in horrible, yet blase fashions. It delivers emotionally too, with the second half in particular having a good deal of touching episodes, especially episode 10. Unfortunately, there’s one giant problem with this anime that brings it down quite a bit: it’s only 13 episodes long. While I’m not a fan of 12 or 13 episode seasons, I can’t say that’s a problem by itself. What is a problem is that they were planning to have double that amount of episodes, causing the storyline to feel very rushed, and leaving nearly every character in the cast that isn’t part of the main group very underdeveloped. While there’s an entire expanded universe of stuff, good luck tracking it all down, and while Key themselves were making a 6 part visual novel of Angel Beats to expand upon it all, something that’s very promising, only the first volume has been released so far, back in 2015, with no word since, very likely because of Jun Maeda’s health issues. Overall, Angel Beats genuinely is a good watch, but it’s kinda depressing, just because of how much potential was cut short thanks to whatever genius decided to cut the episode amount in half. Unless the VN project really gets going again, it’ll probably just remain a bunch of what could have beens. 2. Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Number of episodes: 12. Language options: dub and subs available. Streaming availability: Netflix, Hulu, Crunchyroll, Funimation. Continuing the theme I unintentionally set up, here’s this famous little thing, from the mind of Gen Urobuchi, who, among other things, has worked on several nitro+ visual novels, mostly notably Song of Saya, wrote the apparently horribly depressing Fate/Zero, and was a scriptwriter for Kamen Rider Gaim, which, to my understanding, is one of the darkest Kamen Rider shows out there. Will all this in mind, there’s no real hiding that this isn’t going to be anywhere near as innocent as it tries to appear. Even if you didn’t know that, its reputation probably far exceeds it by now. Madoka Kaname is an average middle school student whose life is thrown into chaos when a mysterious girl named Homura Akemi transfers into her class, whom Madoka later finds attacking a strange creature called Kyubey. After rescuing it, Madoka and her best friend Sayaka are attacked by a strange creature known as a witch, only to be rescued by Mami Tomoe, a “magical girl” given power by Kyubey. Kyubey sees much potential in Madoka, and offers to grant her any wish of her choosing, in exchange for her becoming a magical girl as well and helping fight the witches. Homura, however, is completely determined to keep that from happening. Thus starts a chain of event in the lives of Madoka and Sayaka that, suffice it to say, don’t go very well. Without getting too specific, what starts as a mostly typical, if slightly odd, magical girl show quickly goes to very dark and twisted places, comparative to Neon Genesis Evangelion, though not quite as in depthly depressing with it. Everyone takes a beating in some way, and even with just 12 episodes, it can get a bit much for some people, even when it doesn’t end quite as awfully as you might expect. Still, it’s actually very well done. The characters are complex and flawed, but ultimately sympathetic, the overall plot is fascinating, and it ends in a very fitting way. It’s emotional, and has surprisingly good action. The dub voice work is solid, and the animation by Studio Shaft is as well, especially helped by the abstract designs of the witches themselves. While I’m not quite as passionate about it all as some are, it’s definitely earned its reputation. It’s a great watch, and definitely a big recommendation. 1. Steins;Gate

Number of episodes: 24 (+ 1 OVA). Language options: dub and subs available. Streaming availability: Funimation, Hulu, Crunchyroll. Finishing off my unintentional theme with an actual adaptation of a visual novel, there was no way I wasn’t checking this one out with how utterly passionate the VN made me. This is at least partially a bias placement, but this anime is a very, very good adaptation, and a great way to experience the story without the VN, and a great watch even having gone through it. Rintaro Okabe is a college student on break living in his “laboratory” in Akihabara. A self proclaimed mad scientist, he whittles his days away hanging out with his friends Mayuri Shiina and Itaru Hashida, inventing useless gadgets in a supposed fight against an evil organization. One day, Rintaro and Mayuri go to attend a press conference by Doctor Nakabachi in Radi-Kan, who claims to have invented a time machine, only for it to end horribly for all involved when Rintaro discovers Kurisu Makise, a young neuroscientist who had recently had her thesis published in a major science magazine, murdered by an unknown assailant. Sending an email to Itaru about the incident, Rintaro suddenly finds the world to have changed. According to everyone else, the press conference had been canceled due to a mysterious satellite that crashed into Radi-Kan, and Rintaro later runs into Kurisu, alive and well. Investigating, Rintaro finds that, by complete accident, his modified microwave has become a device capable of sending emails to the past- and that SERN, a French research organization, has been conducting time travel experiments of their own. In his attempts to understand the capabilities of what he’s invented, and his curiosity as to why his memories appear to be out of sync with everyone else’s, Rintaro rushes into a series of experiments that change his life, and those of friends old and new. This is something I could rant about all day, but putting it as succinctly as I can, I’ve never been as fascinated by time travel as Steins;Gate has made me. As fantastic as it, it’s also shown to be unpredictable, limited, and downright unsettling, especially when nobody knows just how time even works. It’s a story about the concept of time travel as much as a story about using it. The story definitely starts a bit slowly, but it’s well worth pushing past. As an adaptation, it doesn’t even need to sacrifice much, with the most that’s lost being some details in a few later arcs that aren’t worth much in the long run anyway. Beyond that, the main strength of the story is the cast of characters. Rintaro, with his rather severe case of chuunibyou, is a unique protagonist to begin with, but the events of the story turn him into an honestly fascinating and downright tragic character, and easily one of my favorite protagonists in a long time. The rest of the cast is just as good, with Kurisu being a great mix of intelligence, ravenous curiosity, and flusterability, with her and Rintaro’s interactions always being entertaining. As well, there’s the always kind, yet ditzy Mayuri, the outgoing, but odd Suzuha Amane, the endearingly gentle Luka Urushibara, and the energetic and wily Faris, just for some examples. The cast is downright loveable and very easy to get attached to. While I prefer the Japanese voice cast overall, the dub isn’t to be overlooked, with Trina Nishimura as Kurisu, Tyson Rinehart as Itaru, Cherami Leigh as Suzuha, Lindsay Seidel as Luka, and especially J. Michael Tatum as Rintaro giving great performances. Visually, White Fox did a great job giving it a distinct look. While the VN had a gorgeous and unique artstyle, it’s not really something that can be translated into animation. Instead, they used a whole lot of washed out colors and saturated lights that, combined with the sparse use of flashy effects and even music, gives a very subtle atmosphere to it all. Even beyond the style, it looks very good on its own, and it’s especially nice not having Rintaro look like a ghoul half the time, like he does in the VN.

Overall, this is very much something worth checking out. I’m beating a dead horse here since Steins;Gate is already wildly popular, but it’s that way for a very good reason. There’s also an extra OVA episode, along with a sequel movie, though both are only available via Funimation. They aren’t quite the best, but they make for entertaining watches worth checking out. And with that, that’s the end to my rambling. With the exception of, again, Super Sonico, everything here is very much worth a watch. I’m sure, once I emerge from the hell of Steins;Gate spinoffs, I’ll get to watching even more stuff. Till then, though. -Scout

Levi Ackerman stood in front of his ex fiancé’s doorstep, face neutral despite a million emotions running rampant inside him

His ex, Saya Rodríguez was a beautiful woman of Mexican and Japanese heritage, tan skin with light freckles peppering her nose, round hazel eyes that were sharp yet kind, she was the kind of woman that just had an optimistic mindset and would make friends everywhere she went, but was also the kind to put you in your place if you ever stepped out of line

He didn’t deserve her, damn sure didn’t deserve to ask for forgiveness, much less a second chance to make things right between them, he knew he had massively fucked up

“What do you want, Levi!?”

Saya’s voice sent chills down Levi’s spine, the way she said his name with such contempt, as if saying his name made her physically ill

“I just wanted to stop by and say hello”

Levi thinks that was the wrong thing to say because the next thing he knew, he was on the ground

He forgot that Saya could throw a mean right hook

“You leave me a note a week before our wedding saying it was too much to handle, I had no way of getting in touch with you, you packed up your shit and left, you practically fucking ghosted me, and you think you can just come back 5 years later just to fucking say hello!? ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS, ACKERMAN!?”

“I know what I did was unforgivable, I admit, but please understand that-“

“That what Levi, that you could just waltz back into my life after you practically left me shattered? I had to enter rehab because I practically drank myself into an alcohol induced coma because I was heartbroken over you leaving me, I almost died drinking myself away! What did I do to deserve that, Levi? Why couldn’t you just be a man and talked to me and tell me what was wrong, was I not trustworthy?”

Levi stayed on the ground, unable to answer Saya because she was right, he has no right to ask forgiveness or anything from her

“There was someone else, wasn’t there?”

Saya’s voice cut Levi’s thoughts

“You loved someone else and it wasn’t me”

Levi had the decency to look down in shame

“I’d ask who it is, but I feel like I already know who it is”

“Honestly Levi, I don’t know what you were trying to accomplish by coming here, but you failed, I learned to let go of all the anger and resentment I held towards you, I have nothing to say to you anymore, so if you’re done looking like a kicked puppy, I’d like to get back to cooking before my daughter comes back from school so please leave before I make you leave”

“You have a daughter?” Levi asked, shock apparent in his once stoic face

“I do, her name is Aiko and don’t worry she’s not yours if you’re wondering”

“I see… Well then, I apologize for interrupting your afternoon, Ms. Rodríguez, I’ll take my leave now”

Just as Levi was about to make his exit, he watched as a school bus dropped off a young, vibrant girl no more than seven years old make her way towards her mother, light curly brown hair flying in every direction

“Mamá, ya llegue de la escuela!” Akio squealed in Spanish, making Saya smile the same warm, endearing smile Levi had once fallen in love with

“Good to see you, mi cielo, did you have fun?”

“I did, I made a new friend today too Momma, oh who’s that?” The little girl pondered as she looked at Levi

“Furui tomodachi, mi niña”

Was all Saya responded with in her second native language

“Now go wash up, lunch is almost ready, I made your favorite snack”

“Hai mama”

As Aiko made her way into the house, Saya looked back at Levi

“Are you back in town permanently or just stopping by?”

“Yeah, I’m back, I guess I decided to man up and make amends with everyone”

Saya just stared at Levi, not quite believing his excuse, but decided not to comment on it

“I see, well if you’re back, you should know that everyone in this town gossips, so it’s best if you hear this from me now instead of exaggerated rumors, I’m married”

If Levi was surprised, he tried his damndest not to show it

“Congrats, I’m happy you found someone”

Saya only nodded

“Who’s the lucky man, if I may ask?” Levi desperately wanted to know

Hope After All: Doc - Syphoria, atonement. Discord repost. Blockquotes are @blondctraincr.

Things did seem to be returning back to normal, as Fleur had mentioned before. But the strangest thing for Syphoria was....she noticed things had changed back to normal. Things were different than earlier.

She remembered almost forgetting about both Doc and Fleur.

So she ventured around the daycare to find her boyfriend, carrying a tray of snacks for the two of them, as well as the Pokemon. "Doc? Where are you hiding, silly?"

Preparations were in order. Since Fleur's return he's had a feeling that, perhaps he would be getting a visit from someone in particular. Who that is, he's not sure. But it's going to either be the Captain or the Queen. Or maybe it would be someone else. Who knows. It's going to be someone, definitely.

He looks up from the old worn notebook he's writing in, somewhere in a more quiet part of the daycare. "In here, Syphoria." Had it already gotten so late? There is so much to relay...

Syph smiled when she heard his voice and followed it, only to find him to a deeper part of the daycare. "You doing alright hun?" She asked, setting down the tray of snacks and tea included.

Her eyes did glance over to see the old notebook he was writing in, curiosity getting to her once more. "Thought you'd like a little bit of a snack."

He decides it best to close his notebook and clip his pen to the outside of it, a smile playing on his lips. "Thank you, dear; that's very sweet of you." He had completely forgotten to eat, consumed like old times by his work and ensnared within his own mind. Oh. Perhaps he had been a bad influence on Fleur...hah.

"How are you feeling?" couldn't hurt to ask.

"Well, I noticed someone forgot dinner, sooo I figured a little snack was in order." Yup, Syph caught wind of it, as well as a little Vulpix had made note of it. She went ahead to pull a chair over to sit with him, picking up one of the cups of tea for herself.

"I feel...pretty okay right now. I do see that things have went back to normal, well..as normal as things can be. Did Fleur come back?"

"Yes, I forgot," a nervous chuckle following the admittance. He understands he can do that from time to time. Old habits are hard to break. Some habits never break. He just wishes that some of them were good habits...

"Ah, yes," it hasn't registered just yet. "he did come home, a few days ago I believe. I feel sort of bad for making him feel rushed, but-" He suddenly stops. Turns to actually meet her eyes. "...You noticed?" That rare tone of absolutely befuddlement is weighted in his voice.

"Uh huh, I thought so." Syph and her intuition.

Sipping the cup of tea, she was about to grab a cookie to nibble on when she paused, noticing Doc turn to actually look at her eye to eye. Uh oh, did she say something wrong? "Uhhhh, yes? He told me that things would revert back to normal once he got home. Why do you ask?"

"You remembering that is the exact opposite of normal-" Again he stops. His expression unreadable despite how he's usually so expressive.

If she remembers, then others might too. If she knows, then others can learn. If she could understand and retains, then... There's still hope, no matter how faint the glimmer.

For the first time in a long time, he grins. "I love you so much, simfoni saya. More than you know."

Now Syph looked so confused. Was it bad for her to remember what had transpired? That she almost forgot about him? However, she didn't really want to question it too much with seeing that genuine grin upon his face. Hell, even she couldn't get him to grin like that often at all.

"I love you too sweetie, but what does remembering what happened and almost forgetting about you mean? Is it bad?"

He hasn't felt so hopeful since Fleur offered to make him a body of his own- hell, this transcends learning that Fleur's soul is as strong as it was (and now stronger than he initially thought)! It makes his splintered soul soar once again.

"No no, on the contrary!" It's difficult to explain in full but simpler is easier. "If you remember despite everything that changed before, and you know that things were once different and can be that same shade of right again even with the both of us here, that means there's still hope for us old fools!" Though he has to reserve some resignation for himself; there's no telling if the Captain would deem his actions and causes and reactions and so forth unbefitting the lessons and teachings and simply tear him away from it all. She doesn't need to know that though.

She raised a brow at his explanation and thought about it. If that was true, then there possibly was a way to fix things. And so she also won't forget them, especially not Doc.

"Really?" She smiled, looking hopeful herself," That's great! But....how will that work? I mean, I don't know why I still remember things and the like in that case. Should we tell anyone?"

"We have to confirm it first. Make sure this is true. Don't want to cause a fuss, you know?" That hope remains despite the skepticism that comes with years upon decades upon centuries of his line of work. He has to hold to this hope even if it hurts him badly in the end. This much he knows is true...even if he wishes Fleur could choose to hold to hope himself.

"We cannot by any means tell this to Fleur." This is spoken with absolute seriousness.

She shook her head. Of course she didn't want to cause a fuss. That's the last thing she ever wants to do. But Doc was right, Fleur couldn't know about this. This could be the last kind of hope for the two of them.

"Right. Then what do you suggest we do?"

"Ask people who have big roles to play if they recall anything being amiss in the most subtle way you can. Try to not be so obvious that it gets suspicious." Very simplistic things, if you find the right people. Most would...undoubtedly take relief in the knowledge that it's not just them. Syph' is an excellent example of this.

Syph blinked and considered it, nodding her head. She could begin somewhere on the islands. If anything, the Kahunas or even the Tapus could be a good start. "Right. I'll start looking around. If anything, I can see if the Tapus recall anything. They are the protectors of the islands. And some of the dragons live nearby the islands too. Would that work?"

Doc nods. He's not sure if they would notice anything or remember but if they do, that would mean the sliver of hope is bigger than he thought. "Sounds like a plan to me."

He pauses for a moment. That feeling of getting a visit remains against his back, a feeling of being ever watched becoming one of anticipation. A chill down his spine that is neither pleasant nor unpleasant, it is what it is. "I could check in with Grillby and Alphys... hopefully things go smoothly with the lady, since she and I didn't know each other very well."

Wait, that's right...There was still Grillby and Alphys!

"Yeah, if anyone can notice things as well as I do, it'll be Grillby. I can give you Alphys' number to contact her. I hadn't spoken to her in a while but, surely she'll be able to help with some insight." She nodded, thinking on it some more," ....Doc, should we tell Cayden? At least, he should know something."

He blinks, blinks again. "He already knows." Why wouldn't Cayden know? Does she not know the nature of true Bravery souls in this timeline- ...well he supposes no one but those who remember how it was would know. He has Fleur to thank for that. "I could give him a rundown of new information but I've no doubt that he already knows." When doing his job proper, he's a force to be reckoned with.

"So he already knows that I'm remembering things I shouldn't?" She asked, raising a brow curiously. She knew that Cayden could be a force to be reckoned with when it came to some things, but others? She didn't know. This, however, was new to her.

"We still might want to talk to him. Maybe he could help."

"Well he is a Time Mage, he tends to be aware of anything that affects the flow of time, good or bad." Spoken so plainly you'd think he were speaking of the weather and not the correct passage of time.

Talking to him, though? Hmm... He would want to make sure that nothing goes abnormally, that it heals on its own. He's finicky that way, especially when it comes to the dead giving advice to the living. He always did have that perception- or maybe it just got more evident after he met his wife. "If you want to, you're more than welcome to. Just be patient with him. The subject of time is not a pleasant one for him." Resets are a horrible thing, and there are three in the timeline who remember it all. Himself included.

".....Time mage?"

Now that explained alot of things there, on why he knows far more than he should, even for a dead mage. Hearing Doc say it, she would have to be patient with him. Cayden was a friend, and she didn't want to ruin that by idle questioning. Though it made her wonder.

"I understand. I just..wonder, how am I remembering all this? Shouldn't I had forgotten about it, when Fleur returned to the timeline?"

There's a bit of a pause. His eyes close. ...brows raise. "Iiii have no idea." And it's true. As far as he's concerned, everyone should have forgotten anything was ever changed, was ever different than it is. It's a burden not lightly shouldered, and it's why one madman and one knight off and on seek him out to ascertain, yes, that really happened, no, it's not in their head, yes, it sucks, no, they don't have to do this alone.

"I'm not adept in this sort of thing. Normally that would be Fleur, but..." He frowns. "...that's not a sight you want to see." He feels like he should warn someone about mentioning such things to Fleur... but who? Huh...

Right, Fleur would know but..well...that's not really much of an option right now. They couldn't exactly tell him of this either so, yup, out the window.

"Hmm, maybe Cayden might shine some insight on it? Or.." Syph was thinking, thinking back on things she's learned. Then something dawned on her. Could it be...

"...Would it have something to do with my SOUL? And the way it is?"

"Maybe." He doesn't know. As much as he was supposed to be working with Souls during his time Underground, he knew very little of what made them what they are, how they act so different. Fleur manages to understand it all but can't find words to explain, but that's...a normal occurrence for him.

"It could be any number of reasons as to why you remember, when everything points to the fact that you shouldn't. What matters is that you do remember." It gives this old fool of a crow a reason to fight again.

A soft smile formed on her face as she nodded in agreement. What did matter was that she remembered. And thankfully, she remembers her boyfriend the most.

"And I'm going to make sure I still remember." She murmured and reached out, cupping his cheek with her hand. Those fears were real before. "Would hate myself if I were to forget such a sweet, lovable dork like you."

He closes his eyes and leans into her touch slightly. It will always be a comfort to have some semblance of understanding that he'll be remembered, even if he doesn't live up to the expectations of the Captain. He'll live this life while he has it, make good on his promise to an old friend to use his borrowed time wisely.

"Takes one to know one, my love." Doc chuckles softly, then reaching for a snack she had procured. What? He wasn't lying about having forgotten to eat.

"Wasn't denying it, Myūjishan." Syph chuckles with him and leans over, giving him a couple of kisses on his face. Is she going to have a cute, dorky moment with him? Oh hell yes. Theres no questioning that.

"I don't want to forget you, and never fearing of forgetting about you again. I....don't know what I'd do without you, Doc.."

The blush that heats his cheeks is undeniable, and he won't try to do so. He just sighs contentedly, all too thrilled about having this sort of lifestyle again. Something so quaint, so lovely...his girlfriend and his adoptive daughter... It feels like home.

Though he has to reach up with his free hand to grip one of hers in reassurance. "Don't worry. The first step is always the hardest, but I promise, that won't be a fear of yours ever again." Even if he has to strike a deal or two with someone he still somewhat fears (and with good reason).

The reassurance from his hand did help, knowing that she'll never feel that fear again. "Good. Because I was really scared, and I hate feeling that." Having Doc, Sami, and all the Pokemon here? Made her feel peace, something she hadn't had for a long time.

And she gladly welcomed it.

"Now, go and get some actual food to eat mister. Snacks aren't going to fill you up."

"I will I will. I need to go make sure Sami has eaten as well. If not, then a snack to help her sleep properly." Doting over children is one of his strong suits. He fell through with Fleur which is his burden to shoulder but he won't fall through with Sami.

"Alright, I'm going to head to bed. And this time, I'll make sure Prince and Pixie don't take your side of the bed." She giggled at the antics those two got into. She swore, Pixie was teaching Prince her bad habits. "おやすみ..." She murmured, kissing his lips, "..I love you, Doc.."

She glanced up into his eyes a moment before getting up, reluctantly pulling from his side to head to bed.
