Don't know if it's needed, but TW for mentions of suicide. (It's not really that big, but I still put it just in case.)
If Sans Undertale were to judge them (plus Whole) based on what happened throughout the series, I think it would go something like this:
Heart: Sans would let him pass, but he's most definitely keeping an eye on him. (Trying to shoot Mind)
Mind: Judgement when completing Pacifist, yet you were rude. (Mocking Heart, yet not really committing any acts that would potentially have him earn EXP.) [Is there even a different judgement for being rude during a Pacifist run? I seriously don't even know–]
Soul: Would probably be given a bad time. (Threatening Heart and Mind, threatening suicide, probably killing the two in a few timelines, etc.)
Whole: Would be given a lecture to STOP RESETTING TIMELINES. (Obvious; he would forget five seconds later.)
HERE SHE IS my angel the love of my life the woman of my dreams she has So Many Issues
the extra little thingies under the cut:
i wanted to show a bit of my process in this so i left in the lil mini undynes that helped me work out the colors :> also some details u wouldnt normally see and some expressions!
Ok ok on the topic of Toriel though like. I think the watering down of Toriel's character from "deeply traumatized woman who blames herself for the deaths of eight whole children and is self-isolating out of fear of the world she left behind in her own perceived cowardice" to "mom." is just like. A perfect example of how fandoms have the tendency to reduce nuanced, complex characters to one trick ponies.
Toby Fox is a phenomenal writer and Undertale is full of characters like this- who have complex, conflicting motivations, and who make mistakes and yet grow and change throughout the narrative. All of which is then erased when characters are reduced to a single aspect of their multi-faceted personality.
And while the Undertale fandom is very much stepping back from this mindset of character assassination, I think many people don't realize the absolute scale of it. Especially with the characters who are women, like Undyne, Alphys, Toriel and Mew Mew. There's been a lot of recent pushback for characters like Sans, Papyrus and Chara to be written better (all rightfully so! I love these characters too and I'm so glad they're getting the characterization they deserve!), but I dunno. I feel like sometimes people forget that within all That, the women got sidelined and had their characters diminished too.
So a few weeks back, I replayed Undertale and just realized how much I love Undyne. She's such a fun character! I had gone back through a lot of the rooms and called Papyrus and I got some dialogue that I hadn't seen before. A lot of it is just them being silly.
IDK, I just thought this was really cute. Also, if you call in the area where you find Sans and his telescope she will tell you about a rock constellation that is apparently really cool. You can't actually see it though...
Would have loved to see what was there.
But I also love that she stops herself from swearing in front of Frisk. Like when you call her near that grassy area where she throws spears at you and she says that if it wasn't for the grass. And then cuts herself off. She doesn't want to swear in front of this little kid and it's just really cute. And the fact that the reason she didn't want to hurt the grass was because Alphys said it was important. She's really sweet in her own way
