I'll not even start talking about the deaths, they were so anti climatic. Your protagonist's father just died, Cassandra, show me more emotion than a few pages of grief!

Speaking of Elias, the conflict between the Carstairs family was unbelievably poorly handled.

CC's homophobia was showing up so hard, especially when Kamala said she regretted protecting herself by staying in the closet. Clare hates closeted people, it's so obvious. I hate it here 🤡

Matthew literally yelled and threw a bottle at a wall when he was arguing with James about Cordelia. But Thomas wouldn't dare to say a word to Matthew about Alastair? So, Thomastair's conflict will be hypocrisy now, got it.

Hi! This is a completely random question, but I'm asking you this because you're the nicest person I know on this app; therefore you may not think I'm nuts. But what would you think about a TSC series about the TLH's gang's children? Like, during the Roaring Twenties?

I know that's probably 100% out of the question for Cassie (maybe as a short story post-TLH, then?) but I would just love the aesthetic --especially because I'm ACHING for a flapper girl Shadowhunter (perhaps the daughter I've headcanoned for Thomastair; I'd love to see Alastair as a father to someone like female!Matthew)

First of all, I’m always here for more tsc books. ALWAYS. It’s my sustenance at this point 😅🤭

I would be absolutely interested in seeing second gen of TLH. In my opinion, TLH gang come across as very woke and cultured and accepting. All of them are into arts or science or something they are passionate about. So it would be so cool to see how this would be reflected in the next generation!

We also know that down the line both herondales and Lightwoods went a bit 😬😬😬 (especially looking at the generation before the circle) So it might also be interesting to notice what changed and when or why it happened.

I would love to see thomastair with a baby girl 🥺🥺🥺 And lmao if she is like Matthew, it would be both hilarious and cute 🥰🥰🥰

Also gracetopher baby being the prettiest smartest lil shit 😎😎 and Jordelia baby is of course the mom friend of the group and then we have blackdale children who are definitely running some sort of underground operation to cause chaos but look great while doing it ✌🏾✌🏾

sizzy: i might be biased since they're my faves but i stand by what i said. some might argue with this because of the cheating thing but it has been established none of them had sealed a close a relationship (or even if they had a relationship) at the time so...

malec: pretty healthy and it's only taking the 2nd spot because of the early stages of their relationship where the whole immortality thing was a bid deal

cl*ce: any relationship that has an incest discourse as its biggest legacy isn't the one you want to capitalize on 💀

gabrily: i genuinely don't remember any moment that could take the gold from them.

sophiedon: probs could be 1st and the only reason why it isn't is because gabriel was smarter than gideon when it came up to creating excuses to see his crush lamo

Though... that gold dress may or may not mean something. I’ll be honest with you, when I thought of gold, I always usually associated the colour with Cordelia. But looking at Lucie in a dress as gorgeous as it is, I’m convinced I have the most shitty colour sense lmao. It’s so refreshing to see the cover tbh (am I in love with it? you betcha)! 

But anon... I really wish their relationship progresses slowly. They are legit the friends-first crushes-lovers trope and I kinda really hope that by the end of Chain of Iron, the two of them are madly in love with each other, but also just as oblivious lol. I mean, look at the angst potential. xD And they, in fact all ships in TLH, are the normal-est tropes ever. Look at Cordelia and James: the childhood friends to lovers one. Thomas and Alastair: somewhat hated each other to lovers trope. Anna and Ariadne: the love at first sight trope, perhaps? And don’t get me started on Jesse and Lucie- all I have to say is said perfectly in this post here. But despite what I hope for, I will still take what I get after reading the book.

Lucie smiled at a little boy that passed her by, and gave him a little wave which he reciprocated, and smiled with two missing front teeth.

“Yes, smile at the girl with the sword,” Jesse muttered from beside her. When the boy’s mother seemed to notice the waving, and the sword, she quickly grabbed his arm and hurried to the other side.

“You know, Jesse, I’m here to help you, and all you’re doing is scaring away children.” she said, turning to face him. Jesse raised a brow.

“I don’t have a sword,”

“You’re invisible.” 

“Not for much longer,” he replied, a small, boyish grin coming over his face, not unlike the little kid that had just been pulled away. Lucie let herself smile as well. Tonight, if all went well, she would have her Jesse alive, and real, and hopefully also carrying a sword.

Omg your reactions to thomastair are hilarious you represent the whole fandom. We get so hyped with so little lmao. Even tho there were only a few scenes between thomas and alastair, do you think they deserve the hype they’re getting? Cause i love them to pieces but maybe it’s only because I’m a sucker for “opposites-attract” couples and dumb Lightwoods. Good god there was/is so much hype for Thomastair, I actually thought they are a thing. I actually thought the same thing of KitTy but then I read TDA and those lil shits didn’t even kiss fujeskskskaksk.

But you know our fandom be like that. We take something small and make it big (and beautiful sometimes) I think Thomastair is like that.

I don’t mind the hype. I mean obviously explicit romance and fluff is appreciated. But we kinda looooove the pre relationship angst and chaos and yearning.
