For my beautiful girl @save-the-villainous-cat <3
Pure Exhaustion
Villain pushed the key into the lock and turned sharply to the right. Jimmying the keys out of the handle after they heard the ‘pop’ of the door unlocking and they could finally push their way inside.
The criminal didn’t even bother to deal with the contents of their bag, instead tossing it to the side and heading straight for the old sofa. Passing their lover on the way there with no more than a simple wave of their hand.
Unfortunately, Villain did not have the energy to deal with anyone or anything more today. They had been on their feet for hours and dealing with other peoples problems for even longer than that. Missing their bus and having friends cancel on them for dinner plans they were counting on.
Today was just not Villains day.
They were so drained they were worried they would lash out and hurt the hero in their exhaustion. They loved Hero, truly they did, but Hero had a tendency to… overthink and when they got worried they went into overdrive. Trying everything to make the situation better when all Villain really wanted was space.
Hero wasn’t good at ‘space’.
Speaking of which, Hero entered the living room soon after Villain had collapsed onto the couch and groaned into the plush pillow by the sofa arm. They wanted to cry, they were so overwhelmed and upset, they just needed room to be alone right now.
“Sweetie?” Hero called and Villain only grunted in response, trying to keep the conversation sweet and simple so they could get back to their peace and quiet. “Is everything alright?”
Villain wanted to shout, they wanted to ask if it really looked like they were alright or if they should do some more groaning and ignoring until the answer was obvious. But they restrained themselves. Hero was sensitive. They had to keep that in mind.
“Yes. Everything is fine.”
Hero raised a brow as they neared their lover on the couch, placing the wooden spoon they had previously been making dinner with on the coffee table as they sat on the other edge of the couch. Careful to still give Villain their room, but wanting to be supportive and active in their conversation.
“Oh? Yeah?” Hero questioned, leaning forwards a bit more into the other’s space. They didn’t want to crowd them, but something was very wrong with their villain and they weren’t going to let them shut them out.
Hero didn’t want to pry on their lover, but they wouldn’t let them suffer in silence by themselves either. Besides, a knot of worry was coiling in their stomach. Maybe they had done something wrong?
Villain—who seemed able to read minds—spoke up. “It’s not your fault. You didn’t do anything wrong.” The reassurance was supposed to help, but their tone was lost in their exhaustion and it only helped fuel Hero’s worry.
The crime-stopper finally decided on a course of action, their lover seemed especially tense lately, they could do something about that while they tried to pry the problem out of their Villain. Resting their hands on Villains shoulders as they began to massage the sore muscles.
Almost immediately Hero got a reaction, Villain moaned, it sounded more so of a sound of pain and release than pleasure. But it sent chills up Hero’s spine and pushed them to dig their fingers in deeper.
With every knead of Hero’s knuckles into Villains tight flesh another sound escaped their lips. Sometimes it was a moan, sometimes a groan, or if it was a particularly good knot they were working on Villain would unravel along with it. Spilling everything about their shitty day and how upset they were about the outcome.
Hero stayed quiet as their hands worked down their lover’s body, memorizing the patterns in the other’s body and how they reacted to certain pressure in certain areas. It was mesmerizing to the crime-stopper, like some intricate puzzle that their hands were decoding with every press into skin.
They watched comfortably as Villain fell apart completely at their hands, becoming a mess of puddy for the hero. Something so intimate about the way they were so close and careful with the villain’s body.
It was perfect.
“-and now I-I… have to go see Supervillain, ah- because of t-the incident r-reports… Fuck. Please, Hero~”
Hero smirked as they finished their tirade against the other’s body. Kissing the top of Villains head as they finally collapsed, drained completely of all their energy by their lover.
“Well…” Hero drawled, heading into the kitchen to grab two bowls of turkey stew before settling down on the couch next to their partner. Helping them sit up as they took the luxury of spooning a bit of liquid to their lips. “You’ll be glad to know that today my team and I put away Supervillain for good.”
Villain looked the most awake since they had arrived an hour ago after the news registered. Eyes wide as they stared at Hero, mouth full and dripping hot soup.
“Seriously?”
“Yes, honey. Seriously.” Hero giggled at the shock written all over their lover’s face. “So relax a little, hm? Let me take care of you tonight. You deserve it, baby.”
Villain smiled, resting their head against Hero’s shoulder as they felt a kiss pressed gently to their forehead.
“We’re coming to throw you away next, baby. You’re so cute it’s illegal.” Hero whispered as they pulled Villain in for the first long and passionate kiss of the night, with hopes for many more to come.
