Hey hey could I maybe request gn!Changeling Tav? I was so disappointed I couldn’t play one in the game lololol
I think it's a good idea, I was inspired by the mirror scene with Astarion when I wrote it! Enjoy! ♥♥
OS - Astarion x Gn changeling reader : I see you.
Tumblr media
You were a changeling, a very rare creature, of which there were very few in all of Faêrun. The few that survived became monsters or were used against their will as cunning spies, political envoys or assassins. Your past had constantly been punctuated by abuse, manipulation, torture and experiments of all kinds. You had done things that still haunt you today, under the yoke of evil masters. Until you were kidnapped by mind flayers during one of your missions. These creatures had used you and implanted a tadpole in your brain so that you could become one of them.
Luck was never on your side. That's what you thought until the Githyanki warriors attacked the ship you were on. You had miraculously survived the crash of their nautiloid, you hadn't yet turned into a purple being full of tentacles and you had made some very strange allies. In the end, now that you think about it, everything that had happened to you wasn't so bad - you'd been able to escape your twisted past. Of course, there were a few drawbacks, such as the friend who had made your brain his cosy nest and the fact that you were constantly in danger. But you preferred this new life, surrounded by loyal allies.
At first, they were sceptical about the idea of having a shapeshifter around, but your ability had proved very useful on several occasions. You were able to use it to manipulate and trick your enemies, something you knew how to do so well. But there was no point in fooling yourself, your past was going to catch up with you, one way or another. Either way, you didn't want to think about it now. You wanted some peace. You took a few minutes to wash yourself in the river, to get rid of the smell of blood and goblins that was sticking to your skin. You sat by the campfire to warm up, as the night air was particularly cool this evening. You continued to blot your hair with a clean cloth, your gaze lost in the ballet of flames before your eyes. It was quite late, and everyone had gone back to their usual activities: Shadowheart was meditating, Lae'zel was sharpening her blade to better slice through her enemies, Wyll was enjoying a fine wine, Gayle was practising his magic, and Karlach was lying on her straw mattress admiring the stars.
Your gaze lingered on Scratch, who was running around the camp with a bone in his mouth. You smiled at the animal's carefree attitude: he had lost his master but had found another home, and he seemed to enjoy it. He walked past Astarion's tent who was standing with his back to you, you could just see that he had a mirror in his hand. It was the first time you'd seen him with anything other than an old manuscript in his hands. A special bond had developed between you thanks to a common thread: your crooked past. You hadn't told him very much about your life before though. You were similar, two beings broken by their master. The only difference between you was perhaps his appetite for blood. You finally got up and approached him, curiously.
"Are you looking at something?" questioned the vampire.
"How did you know I was here?"
"Another disadvantage of my condition, the lack of reflection."
"Do you miss it? Seeing your face?" you questioned. And what a question, of course he must miss it. You were about to add something but Astarion answered anyway.
"Do I miss looking at my reflection out of sheer vanity? Of course I miss it. I haven't seen my new face since my eyes turned red and I grew fangs."
"What colour were they before?" you asked.
"I.. I don't know. I can't remember. My face is just a dark shape in my past now. Another thing I've lost." He spat before throwing the mirror to the ground, shattering it.
When the object hit the floor, you flinched slightly. You felt guilty for having brought back painful memories. You wanted to make up for it. You looked at him for a long time, squinted your eyes and took a step towards him. You learnt the contours of his ivory face by heart, the smallest detail to engrave it forever in your memory. You scrutinised his carmine eyes, which had the power to pierce any being, the slight wrinkles in the corners of his eyes that became more obvious when he smiled, laughed or got angry. His light hair that fell gracefully around his pointed ears, in pretty curls. His lips, slightly pink, on which you had placed countless kisses.
"What?" said Astarion, not understanding why you were watching him like that.
"I see you." you replied, looking at him.
"And tell me, what exactly do you see?"
"I'll show you," you said simply. "Close your eyes"
"What?"
"Shut up and close your eyes," you sighed.
Astarion looked at you, hesitant at first before finally closing his eyes. You didn't like it when your companions watched you transform, because it wasn't pleasant to watch in the first place, and on top of that, it was painful for you to change shape. You could feel your bones growing, your skin stretching, you could feel all the changes taking place in your body. But you were prepared to endure this discomfort to give Astarion comfort. And so you took on his appearance. You finally cleared your throat to get the vampire's attention, and he finally opened his eyes. He seemed surprised at first, deeply surprised and disturbed by what he had in front of him. His exact copy. He was so confused that he didn't know how to react.
"It's… Is it me?" said the former magistrate at last. "Is that what you see, every day?"
"Yes."
Astarion was examining you meticulously and he finally approached you, examining every detail of your face. Or rather his face. You could see the pain in his eyes, but also the gratitude. He was recapturing something he'd lost two centuries ago, seeing himself again for the first time. You could feel that your power was going to dissipate very soon due to fatigue, but you wanted to try and hold on. For his sake. He deserved it. He raised his hand to touch the white curls on your head but finally pulled back after a few long seconds and turned his head away, looking… So vulnerable. You shook your head to dispel your power and regain your appearance, and you came to regret your action.
"I'm sorry. That was inappropriate, maybe I shouldn't have…"
"No, no. It was a nice gift you gave me," Astarion said finally. "It simply reminded me of what I really am, a miserable spawn."
You could hear the pain in his voice and you moved closer, grabbing his face between your hands so that he would look at you, which he finally did. He wasn't a miserable spawn, he was a prisoner of his twisted past, he was still suffering from the abuses he had experienced, but he was more than just a spawn. He was an ally, a friend, a lover, and you wanted to cherish and spoil him until your heart stopped beating. You wanted him to see himself as you saw him.
"You are much more than what Cazador made you. You don't have to pay the price for your past, you're free now." you say, without taking your eyes off him. "You are Astarion, amateur of art, literature and old brandy. You are quick-witted, mischievous and impertinent, eloquent and incredibly charming. All these things define you more than your red eyes and fangs. And I'd like you to know how grateful I am to have you by my side."
Astarion looked at you, astonished by your words. He had let his guard down, in front of you, once again. He had allowed himself to do it, and every time you saw him like that, so vulnerable, your heart was writhing in your chest with pain. He was good at hiding his feelings, but with you he showed himself as he really was. A deeply broken soul trying to forget the weight of his past. The vampire wrapped his hand around your wrist, smiling slightly.
"I think I can live without mirrors. Besides, seeing yourself through someone else's eyes isn't so bad." replied Astarion. "Seeing myself through your eyes is enough for me"

How I Would Reorganize The Agreste Plotline If Miraculous Ladybug Were For An Older Audience
NOTE: Contains Season 5 Spoilers, Leak References, and Discussion of Mature Topics
I say reorganize instead of rewrite since I’m working with canon and embellish only on a few plot points that haven’t fully been touched upon yet. If you want to see how I reorganize the agreste plot for the show as is check out this post.
Season 1
Show in universe that everyone is aware of Emilie’s disappearance. In Origins, passing news blurb that it has been X amount of days and there are no leads into the Agreste case. This in turn, affects how his peers at school treat him, with some fawning over him like we see in the show, and the more sensitive ones reluctant to approach him due to his situation.
Ladybug is Adrien’s first ever crush. Show instead of implying on twitter that he takes romance hints from anime.
Plagg is aware of Adrien’s situation with wanting more independence and about mom’s disappearance. While he displays a lazy, go lucky attitude, he worries over Adrien. He encourages him to find himself as Chat Noir.
Show that even before Gabriel starts using the butterfly miraculous to get his wife back, he has unhealthy coping mechanisms. In the first few weeks after Emilie falls into a coma, he turns to drinking. Nathalie frequently joins him on his binges since she harbors guilt about Emilie’s illness. One night, they both get drunk and share a heated kiss.
Due to the kiss, and the stress of losing Emilie, there is a heavy tension between them. One day Nathalie snaps.
“What else could we have done? Emilie is gone! There’s no way we can bring her back! And if there was a possibly that we could, she’d hate us for it! Especially if she found out---I’m sorry I should have never brought that up. I’ll be on my way sir.”
Show that both Nathalie and The Gorilla care about Adrien despite their cold exteriors. With the next couple of seasons, he begins to open up to them, and they in turn.
Have Hawkmoth’s reveal that he is Gabriel take place at end of season 1 instead of beginning of season 2 in ML proper
Flashback 1: It is 2014 and Adrien is six years old. He asks his mother why he can’t go out and play with other kids and go to school like his cousin Felix and Chloe. Emile smiles, cradles his face, and tells him that he can’t because he is a very special boy.
Season 2
Introduce Kagami and Adrien’s crush on her. Tease Ms. Tusguri and Gabriel Agreste’s connection earlier than presented in ML Proper with a business call.
The in universe news about Emilie’s disappearance dies down due to a lack of leads.
Show how Adrien is still naive when it comes to interacting with the world, and why he may not pick up on the fact that Marinette has a crush on him due to the fact that everyone fawns over him.
Show one of Master Fu’s tutoring sessions with Adrien post Syren. Master Fu plants a seed of doubt in Adrien’s head that all is well with his family.
Highlight early on that while Gabriel does love his son, he loves the idea of Adrien the perfect, obedient child more than Adrien the trying adolescent. Make it clear that Adrien is Emilie’s child and that Gabriel found it difficult to connect to Adrien even before Emilie’s disappearance.
Start of Gabriel’s slippery slope into madness due to the constant losses.
Nathalie’s infatuation with Gabriel is teased early on in season 2, then confirmed with the events of Style Queen. She becomes more bold with her feelings. At the end of season 2, they almost kiss but Gabriel hesitates.
The events of Heroes Day play out like in ML proper . However, have Gabriel explicitly mention that it was the peacock miraculous that made Emilie ill.
Flashback 2: Takes place post Emilie’s “disappearance” but prior to season 1. Amelie and Felix visit. Amelie asks Gabriel for the Graham de Vanilly ring. Adrien and Felix interact. Felix has a mean streak. He asks how Adrien can deal “with such insufferable people.”
Season 3
Adrien and Kagami get together earlier. As a result their break up plays out a season earlier.
Nathalie takes up her role as Mayura. Her health worsens. Gabriel worries, and their relationship deepens to the point where they begin an affair. Gabriel is shown to feel guilty at first, but as he becomes more hellbent on being Hawkmoth, that guilt subsides.
Introduce sentimonsters like in ML proper. Place a hint that Adrien could be one.
Adrien mentions to Plagg that his mother used to have dizzy spells/ coughing fits like Nathalie. Plagg asks what disease she had. Adrien doesn’t know. He then asks Gabriel what type of illness Emilie had. Gabriel tells Adrien to mind his own business.
People drop hints that Marinette likes Adrien. Show that Adrien is in denial of his own feelings for her because of his feelings for Ladybug.
Show how Adrien gets stressed because of his modeling job. He is exposed to the underbelly of the fashion industry where his modeling peers have eating disorders, have drug/alcohol addictions, or are sexually preyed upon or exploited by their managers. Adrien wants out. He pleads with his father to stop modeling but is denied.
Introduce Felix like in ML proper. Show that Felix is knowledgeable about the miraculouses. Have him eye Gabriel’s brooch before leaving.
Have Chat Blanc and Ephemeral take place in this season. Keep plot and outcomes the same.
Gabriel starts to act more like Hawkmoth in real life and less like himself.
Flashback 3: Takes place when Gabriel, Emilie, and Nathalie are twenty years old. In the summer of 2000, they travel the world, in search of adventures and the miraculouses. The three of them have a close but complicated relationship due to the fact that Gabriel and Emilie are dating, Nathalie has feelings for him, and that she is friends with them both. This tension accumulates one night where they engage in a menage a tois. It is an event they vow to never speak of again. At the end of the summer, they have not found any miraculouses. Gabriel reaffirms his feelings for Emilie and rejects Nathalie completely.
Season 4
Love Square reversal. Adrien falls for Marinette. Slowly, they become closer and start dating. Gabriel finds out about Adrien’s feelings for Marinette. He forbids them to date, but they defy him. Gabriel tries to push Kagami onto Adrien.
Keep Felix’s discovery of Emlie’s body in Gabriel Agreste and trade with Gabriel at end of season 4 the same as ML proper.
Have Gabriel’s moral horizon event take place here along with Evolution in ML season 5 proper.
Nathalie and Gabriel’s relationship begins to crumble as he dives headfirst into madness and when she begins to question his decisions. The breaking point is when he does not leave the USB drive in the past like in ML Evolution. Nathalie declares that she will no longer help him, and states that she did everything for him because she loved him.
Adrien starts to look into his mother’s disappearance with Plagg and Ladybug’s encouragement. He discovers that his mother knew about the miraculouses.
The hints that Adrien could be a sentimonster intensify.
At the end of the season the alias rings are introduced.
Gabriel allows Adrien to stop modeling.
Flashback 4: Flashback of Gabriel and Emilie falling in love. Amelie and Colton’s rocky marriage. Same as the leaks. In 2006, Nathalie and Gabriel meet again. He says that he wants to try to find the miraculouses again, in particular the peacock miraculous. When Nathalie asks why, Gabriel answers “because it can create life”.
Season 5
The cataclysm happens. Gabriel’s subsequent illness is explicitly shown. He loses weight due a loss of appetite and vomiting. His skin becomes pale and gangrened sores on his arm weeps black pus. By the end of the season, he has to rely on IV fluids to keep him alive.
Nathalie actively goes against Gabriel and helps Adrien in any way she can.
Felix is Argos. Events of Emotion take place. It is made clear that he is a sentimonster. It is only hinted that Kagami is one too. In addition, he leads Adrien to Emilie’s body.
Adrien find out his father is Hawkmoth, that his mother is dead, then the final truth that he himself is not human. He wrestles with the guilt of catacylsming his father. However, he does not fall into despair as predicted in Chat Blanc and Ephemeral.
Adrien makes his stand against Gabriel. Gabriel is forced to confront the fact that Adrien is no longer his perfect child.
The final battle and the reveal happens. During the final battle, Adrien pleads with his father to see reason. Gabriel is too far gone and tries to kill Adrien. Gabriel uses the miraculouses to make his wish. As mentioned in the leaks, Nathalie is sacrificed. Gabriel is shocked. This forces him to come to terms that due to his selfishness, he has lost the two most important women in his life. He makes one final wish: to sacrifice himself to bring back balance. He dies. Emilie is still dead, but Nathalie lives.
Adrien obtains his amok. Completely orphaned, he faces an uncertain future.
Flashback 5: It is 2007, Emilie has gone through three years of fertility treatments that have brought nothing but disappointment. Clinging onto her last hope, she, Gabriel, and Nathalie travel to Tibet to find the miraculouses one last time. They find the peacock and butterfly miraculous and find out that in order to create a fully functional human sentimonster, a piece of the wearer’s DNA must be bound to the amok. Emilie allows Amelie to test out the peacock miraculous first with Colt. Their son, Felix, is born healthy. Emilie binds a piece of her hair to a photograph of herself as a baby for the amok, and creates the sentibryo that will become Adrien. She magically implants it in herself to carry out a natural pregnancy. However not long after, she begins to miscarry. Desperate, she dons the peacock miraculous. The power she uses saves the pregnancy, but causes the miraculous to become damaged. Adrien is born in 2008. As the years pass, Emilie grows ill and falls into a coma.

mini analysis on the finale
yall im not even gonna lie..........i liked the season 5 finale. the concept that these are teenagers who have been beaten and worn down to a crisp to the point of multiple mental breakdowns from both marinette and adrien.........like of course marinette didn’t tell adrien. she’s a literal child, and she loves him, and honestly? its really not her PLACE to tell him. emilie knows about gabriels involvement with the miraculous. nathalie knows about EVERYTHING. there are multiple ADULTS who can step in and talk to him about this, and they chose not to. multiple people have said it: of COURSE adrien deserve to know, and i will be very upset if they never write in him finding out. but it also seems excessively cruel to do that to adrien. as far as adrien is aware, his dad was trying. he thinks his dad is a man chiseled away by depression and grief, who turned towards his works to cope with the loss. he believes there was a turning point where his father started to try. he allowed him to go to school, to make new friends and go to their house, allowed him to quit, started to show up to school events, and finally started to show him affection. adrien is none the wiser on WHY, and it feels extremely cruel to take away what little happy moments he had left with his father. what is the bare minimum to us, is literally EVERYTHING to adrien, and to me, that does mean something. to me, seeing gabriel sacrifice himself for adrien and his wife-- means EVERYTHING. it is what differentiates an evil, unrecoverable person, from a dynamic character who was never meant to be a good person. we were never meant to like gabriel. he’s the villain! but that doesn’t mean we aren’t supposed to be sympathetic to certain aspects of his journey.  i really do think his character was written well. gabriel is a bad, unredeemable man, who did one good action. i personally can’t look at gabriel from season one and say, “he shouldve sacrificed his life in place of his wives life sooner”, it feels wrong. gabriel from season 1 was EXTREMELY different from gabriel from season 5. we see him change (for the worse) over the course of five seasons.
and the thing about how gabriel is written is like, its realistic. gabriel isnt just a cartoon villain from some kids show, he show’s patterns of real life villains as well. the manipulation, the lying, the guilt tripping, the abuse-- all of it. and thats why, i understand why some people are pissed he got redeemed. but for me, i see the build up. lila has the photographs from gabriels house, and she knews he was monarch. on top of this, it seems like she’s the successor to the butterfly miraculous. people know what he did, and its not just the people on the good side. i don’t see gabriel staying a sympathetic figure for much longer. but all this being said, i dont think it was the worst. the pacing was great, and the animation was top tier for me. theres so many episodes where i can predict whats going to happen next, but i couldn’t with this one. some thing about it just felt....special. like if you showed alyssa from 2016 the finale, i could literally die. no need to show a peasant child, just showing Season One Era fans what happened and how it looks and we’d just. die. everything about it 10x better than we couldve imagined. the writing, the animation, the pacing, the score, the dialogue, the way the world has expanded and been built up and how often we’re interacting with “background characters”.  for once, it felt like i was watching a real show, with a plot that made sense, and wasnt a dumpster fire. but...from reading the #MLBS5Spoilers tag....yall do NOT agree with my sentiments! and thats okay!

The Zodiac Miraculous’ and a couple of their fittingly portrayed Chinese number meanings
You know what I find so cool about the zodiac miraculous' within the show? There are alot of explicit ways in which they are used appropriately to their Chinese numbers meaning. Let me give you a couple of examples without elaborating too deep with others and please remember that I’m not of any chinese/asian heriantage myself, so my knowledge is limited to the research I can make. As per usual, if I made any mistakes feel free to correct me:
Tumblr media
(btw, in the original Miracle box layout the Zodiac miraculous were indeed in the right order, they were merely upside down. So 12 (Pig) was the first from the top and 1 (Mouse; I know normally it's a Rat but the show calls it Mouse so that's what I'm using too) was at the bottom. But that's something for a completely different post in the future)
The real life zodiac order is:
Mouse, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig
So for example the Rabbit is animal number 4 and in Chinese 4 is the number of bad luck, like 13 in the western world, because it sounds so much like the word for "death" (四, pinyin: sì; Cantonese Yale: sei). So fitting to that, not only is the Rabbit narratively directly linked to Chat Blanc and DEATH, it is also color-coded with the color white (and blue, which often comes alongside black and green - CN and CB, you get it). Which, as many probably already know, was/is the color of mourning in Chinese culture.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Or the Goat! The Goat is animal number 8 and that's the luckiest number in China! And therefore in the show the goats power is like a light version of the Lucky Charm and concealed in the only other miraculous jewelry that is a two-piece pair - like Ladybugs earrings!
Tumblr media
Or the Rooster as well, animal number 10. As far as my research could get me chinese people don't talk too much about the number 10 in these regards because of its "intense" nature. Basically 10 symbolizes having reached your full potential, being at your very peak, but that also means that from this peak onwards there is nowhere to go but downhill. Like the rooster miraculous within the show. The rooster has the unlimited power of CHOOSING his power himself and yet he is highly limited by not getting to use it to fulfill a desire.
Tumblr media
His power has the potential to be boundless, the very peak of the miraculous powers, and yet from this very peak the way he can actually manifeste his powers will inevitably always be significantly beneath the high point he and his powers stand for.
Then we have the Snake, miraculous number 6 which sounds like the manderin word for " “flowing, smooth, or frictionless" (溜, pinyin: liū) which culturally indicates a smooth process in life. Just like the Snakes powers, which benefit everyone but themselves since from an outsider perspective the Snake just uses his powers once and thats it, the situation is solved/where is it, while from the insider perspective we of course know that there is MUCH more effort involved than that.
Tumblr media
6 stands for an easy flow in life, just like the Snakes powers look like for everyone on the outside and this interestingly also applies to Luka himself. He is very easy going on the outside and wants to make life easier for everyone through his patience and help and yet season 4 also showed that not only are there more complex emotions underneath, the way he uses his methods as Luka and Viperion don't automatically lead to morally flawless solutions or even anywhere close to the best ones ("Wishmaker" and "Ephemeral"). Lifes situation is just where it is now and he and therefore everyone else is going with the flow he created because no one but him is any wiser of what happened within his power usage or what he himself feels regarding certain things.
And the Mouse is number 1, which isn't too special of a number in China from what I can gather, but its meaning is culturally linked to being alone, but in first place and the winner. Just like the Mouse miraculous being portrayed as basically a lonely one person-army, for both its good and its bad implications:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Btw, 1 having the meaning of lonely also explains the Dog Miraculous, the 11th zodiac animal:
11th of November is the Single's day in Chinese culture, which is 1x4 (remember 4 being the unluckiest number?) and therefore connected directly to loneliness and bad luck especially in relationships. This perfectly corresponds with Sabrina and Félix using the Dog miraculous in their respective contexts.
Aaaaaaaand that's it for now! I have wanted to point this and more out for a LONG while already, but I'm still waiting for a specific official confirmation in Canon that the s4 finale has now validated me in 100% that I'm right. I have much more to say in season 5 when we finally HAVE IT, but at this point I guess there is no need to not talk about a couple of things while we wait for s5.

Today I ascended from this mortal plane and remembered why I love movies and want to pursue filmmaking.
For context, I watched Barbie, and the Miraculous Ladybug movie today.
So, I saw Barbie with my mom, in a theater full of women. The first five minutes, I was sat there like "Did the internet lie to me again?" cause I was genuinely confused about what the hell was happening onscreen. But once I managed to get into the groove of things, I really enjoyed myself. I didn't play with Barbies growing up, and it was still enjoyable to me. It was so campy and funny(thank you Kate McKinnon and Michael Cera for being a big source of that), but it had some pretty deep themes, such as criticism against both a patriarchy and a matriarchy, the struggles of women in society, existentialism, and mother-daughter relationships. Definitely a movie for the girlies, but I think it's enjoyable for everyone.
I think the music was great. My mom hates musicals, despises them with her whole heart, but she told me after the movie that she loved I'm Just Ken. And yeah, it was so much. My favorite bit was the fast paced "Can you feel the Kenergy" moments. I've been playing Identity V, and I use that to hype me up for matches. It gives 80s power ballad, and it's super fun to listen to over and over again. Ryan Gosling did a very good job with it. I can see I'm Just Ken and Peaces battling it out for Best Original Song. Push was great as well, despite being underused in the movie, the full version(which is a cover of an existing song) is very interesting, and lyrically fits the movie so well.
I'm not typically a fan of bright colors in movies, catch me watching The Batman any day, but Barbie is the exception, as it just made certain scenes feel so much more important. Mattel offices being cold and gray, really sold that corporate vibes, and the soft white at the ending with Ruth definitely made it feel like Barbie was reaching a life-changing conclusion. It's a wonderful use of color.
Now the themes are the big draw of the movie. Regarding the patriarchy, matriarchy, and daily struggles of women, those themes are definitely hard to miss, but they do so much good with them. Showing Ken being essentially brainwashed by the idea of the patriarchy is interesting, and definitely rings home for anyone who grew up with boys as friends. I've seen a few guy friends of mine turn from sweet guys, into womanizers as they grew older. And it also shows that a matriarchy isn't good either, by showing how the Kens feel less than in BarbieLand. The Ken's situation is a muted version of women's situations in the real world. The Kens aren't sexualized or hated, but they're ignored. In the real world, both in the movie and real life, women have it worse than the Kens, and feel in a similar position. Makes it easy to enjoy both perspectives. Barbie focusing on thoughts of death and change as a whole hits with me on a personal level, as I have a lot of issues with existentialism, and any movie with death as a major theme usually brings me close to tears(such as Puss in Boots 2, curse you good movies). Seeing Barbie meet her creator in Ruth was so sweet, and was incredibly heartwarming.
Special mention to the line "We mother stand still so our daughters can look back to see how far they've come". It made me want to give my mom the biggest hug, and I'm in no way a hugger.
Then I went home, and watched the Miraculous Ladybug movie because I had nothing else to do. I've been with the show since 2020, which isn't as long as other fans, but the show still sticks in my brain the same. I knew the animation was going to be great, and that the art direction would make up for any shortcomings in the story. And while yes, the plot was rushed (duh, like, how many years has it taken to get to this point in the show? its gonna feel rushed) but the art was absolutely stunning. My favorite moment was from Hawkmoth's villain song, Chaos Will Reign(available on Spotify) when they pulled out the Disney Villain lime green color. I love that color, and seeing Hawkmoth with it made me ascend. I really love the ending battle as well, the use of colors, lightning effects, butterfly textures, was just perfect. The animation was also really smooth, down to the small details of hair movements, such as when Nino and Alya are on the roller coaster, or when Chat Noir's hair gets wet.
The music was probably my least favorite part, just because I think Cristina Vee could've slayed it, and that the songs sounded kind of generic. But Oh My God, Chaos Will Reign had me bopping and replaying it. In fact, I'm listening to Chaos Will Reign and I'm Just Ken while writing this. It definitely gave me old Disney villain song vibes, mixed with the slightest hint of a Danny Elfman soundtrack. It just sounded so evil, but in a way that I can get behind. Keith Silverstein can actually sing, and that note at the end was wonderful. The vibrato gave me life. I was lowkey hoping Nooroo would stop talking so I could hear more. The chanting was awesome, and gave Friends on the Other Side vibes. I was (and still am) a big fan of villain songs, and this is a throwback to my theater kid days when I exclusively played villains and enjoyed it. Definitely overthrew the Hawkmoth Rap as my favorite Miraculous Ladybug song, but the Hawkmoth Rap is like, second place still. The only crime this song had was being too short. Release the ten hour cut.
Finally, aside from the glory that is Chaos Will Reign, I want to say that the two identity reveal scenes were amazing. I'll start off with Adrien and Marinette's, just because I care about that one the least. I think it was a creative way to go about it, with the masquerade masks. Fanfiction wins again. But I have so much to squeal about when it comes to the Adrien and Gabriel reveal. This version of Gabriel was definitely way more sympathetic than his show counterpart, despite committing atrocious acts. I actually wanted this Gabriel to get some redemption, and I think that bit of forgiveness from Adrien is just that. Let them have a good bond, PLEASE! The whole battle scene was just amazing, the fact that Hawkmoth was willing to do literally anything, and very nearly came close to winning. I knew he wasn't going to win, it's a kid's movie, but I was still on the edge of my seat and biting my nails.
I need both of these movies injected into my bloodstream ASAP.
Do I recommend them? Depends on your preferences. For Barbie, I can see why people wouldn't like it, it's campy(in a fun way), and it's anti-patriarchy and anti-matriarchy, which would make the misogynists and misandrists mad. But I think if you're open to a goofy time that will make you appreciate the women in your life, then give it a watch. It's definitely worth it.
For Miraculous Ladybug, it's a kid's movie, based on a show with a big following spanning years. I think it's something to watch if you're a fan, former or current, of the show. If you're just starting to watch Miraculous, it'll be a better watch if you sit through the show. But, it's a good movie, and still enjoyable for novice Miraculers.
I'm definitely watching these over and over again.

Husband Watches Miraculous: NY Special
[does this one have an actual name idk]
OK this is definitely after season 3 because of the box.
Why did they do a Marvel version of the theme? you can't tell me that's not inspired by Marvel.
Okay so they store the powerups inside the thing?
They really tried to go all out with the updated animations didn't they?
Her hair is actually black this time! it looks really good.
Okay that's the first thing that I saw that's super out of character.
Some of these things are textured really well but some are just not. Look you can see texture on her clothes, on the bricks, on the ground, and then BRIGHT GREEN TRASH CAN. It just makes no sense.
This is gonna be a long hour.
Why did they increase Marinette's bust size?
What the fuck was with the way that beard was moving? It's like they didn't want to move the anchor point on the bottom. They anchored it to his shirt is how they modeled it.
Why do they keep changing Marinette's hair color? Why is it darker in the school lighting?
I think I know why this seems so hard to place in the timeline. Its production seems to start at the beginning of season 3 but they definitely got the bible. So they just didn't see all the development Marinette had in getting over her obsession with Adrien over the season.
This whole little bit about Marinette's obsession doesn't need to be here if you've seen the series. Its purpose is only for those who haven't seen the series, which is unneeded because who's gonna watch just for this? It's not a movie. if I skipped the next fifteen seconds nothing would be missed.
When has New York ever been considered romantic? I guess if they watch a lot of American Hallmark movies? But New York is dirtier and dingier than Paris.
They actually made Gabriel look good in this. Like I get how he's supposed to be a silver fox type. He's got a bit too much Justin Bieber face for me, but the hair works for him. I can see how he'd become a celebrity in Paris.
"I'll be keeping an eye on him." If Adrien was a sentimonster under his control, he wouldn't need to keep an eye on him. He could just keep track of him with the miraculous. Like, Mayura was able to track Feast.
Also why is Nathalie in the bed? didn't they fix the peacock? Oh wait she was still super weak and life force isn't easy to regenerate once it's been drained like that.
Oh they've got best girl here.
I think I already see where the entire plot of this special is going. She's gonna be upset at Chat because he's not gonna be there when a sentimonster attacks and she's gonna be upset and debate giving up her miraculous because that's been the theme of the episodes lately and the American heroes are going to somehow be bitches.
[We're only 10 minutes in.]
Gorilla doesn't like planes.
All right so it's not going to work because it's not a sentimonster alert.
How is the eagle going to help you beat Ladybug and Chat?
Marinette, just know when to stop talking, please.
Again, a nice little moment that would be really good.
5 seconds on the plane and she's basically assaulted someone.
Nice use of symmetry and mirroring each other.
Marinette is not having a good day.
Why did they give her such an ass in that shot?
That's actually a pretty good moment.
No. Alya no.
I do like how they call out their weird animation quirks of like. Marinette arms. It's fun.
A convict with a jet engine?
So normal magical and villain type things exist already.
Okay that is just Superman. That's just Superman outfit and Superman theme.
Another thing I don't like is all the infodump. There's a better way they could've introduced Uncanny Valley than Alya's random exposition. She was answering the question of the audience without being prompted to. And it throws me off.
"It's time to show these American heroes how French heroes do it!" NO. NO.
He's not a superhero. That was his entire bit. Also what's he gonna do, endanger everyone by opening up the emergency hatch? You have no superpowers, you have no gadgets, what possibly are you going to do here?
As an introduction, I like this.
It's like they wanted three teachers, one to be nice, one to be crazy, one to be strict, and then they shoved two of them into one character. It doesn't work.
Hot Dog Dan? So he's ... a hot dog vendor?
All right, the dancing is a cute little callback.
Okay I like the new animation style, the very American comic book. but can no one just leave Marinette and Adrien alone? Let them just be awkward together!
Can we get to the catastrophic failure that will lead into the less lovey-dovey shit?
So they're trying to say Lafayette was a holder?
Is that one of the self driving Tsurugi cars?
Wait we've seen the akuma butterflies phase. Why is there no consistency in the rules?
"There's artifacts left by people who unveiled the statue" So there's a miracle box there, right?
Solitude is just Mr. Pigeon!
Doc Ock. Huh. With replication abilities.
Door powers are actually pretty cool.
Now it's finally getting good! Can always count on Hawkmoth to interfere in the right way.
So why is Hawkmoth going after the sabre when the claw thing is very clearly the Miraculous?
Ahh. That's why.
They're still being quite efficient even though they're pissed at each other.
[Aeon is cataclysmed] You have a miracle bomb! It can literally reset people!
That is the smart decision. They don't know each other's identities. Also the American heroes don't have the authority to do that!
I dunno I feel like the reset should have gone through to the other area. When villains have changed in the middle of the episode the reset still works. And when there was the copycat Ladybug she used that one's lucky charm to do a reset bomb. So I call bullshit on that. Also I don't think Paris is still destroyed when we come back to it. So...
"If Uncanny Valley hadn't been a robot I would've caused irreparable harm." Except people have literally died, disintegrated into nothing, converted into energy, and brought back with no issues. So no, it's not irreparable harm. And this is so heavy handed!
The emotional flip flopping here is not great.
[hearing Liiri's ability] That's an incredibly busted ability. Her power is literally limit break.
Why are they having this argument right next to the French students? That just seems stupid.
Let's just steal a bike! oh, safety first
"Adrien I love you" Okay that's just cruel to the people who were watching this.
Yep that's actually what I was expecting.
WHY ARE THERE SO MANY GUNS? Oh right America.
I really like Jess and Aeon's characterization.
Okay I like the skateboard.
This should've just been a movie. It would've been better with time to do all the stuff going on.
Okay that's a neat little trick.
Why does this one hour episode have more musical types than the entirety of the game that came out?
[Ladybug hugs Chat] Okay that was a really cute moment.
Oh is he just gonna launch nukes at everything?
Trading cards, really?
Yeah see Paris is repaired already
"At least let me see what's inside the safe!" It's a miracle box. it's gotta be, right?
I like [Eagle's] outfit.
Was she gonna toss a piano at a pigeon? [Haven't you wanted to do that?] Yeah...
To the sun? To the sun.
Throwing things to the sun is also a Superman reference.
Why do you need more Miraculous? You only need two, and they're not going to help you, you don't have anyone to give them to!
Paris was not like that when they were visiting.
Okay. This should've just been a three part special episode. It tried to shove so much in so little timeframe and over half the thing was just pointless grandstanding about the stupid will they won't they. And I bet that while people loved that Adrien I love you moment, he couldn't fucking hear it and that's the only thing we're gonna get 'cause fuck these producers.
If the pacing was the same throughout, it would've been really good, but it came out of nowhere to the point where they turned up the speed of people speaking to fit it in. A lot of things got super rushed through and I really wanted to see more of it but I know I'm never going to because the producer of Zag sucks!

From Ashes to Embers
Chapter 4 - A Half Smile and A Blank Stare
Tumblr media
As the piercing sound of the alarm clock filled my room, I groggily opened my eyes. With a bittersweet smile, I forced myself to get out of bed, knowing that another day awaited me. I went through my morning routine, dressing up and mentally preparing for the challenges ahead. But deep down, a heavyweight tugged at my heart, a constant reminder of the recent events that had unfolded.
When I arrived at school, a wave of commotion greeted me as I entered the classroom. My classmates huddled together, their voices blending into an excited cacophony. They were buzzing with excitement, their animated chatter revolving around their newfound heroism and their supposed connection to Ladybug. I couldn't help but sigh as I made my way to my seat at the back, silently observing the unfolding conversation.
Nino, Alya, Kim, Max, and even Chloe reveled in their heroic exploits, proudly boasting about their encounters with Ladybug and their special roles. It was both exhilarating and disheartening to hear them speak so passionately about their experiences. Experiences that I knew would have to come to an end soon. Because the truth was, Hawk Moth had discovered their identities, putting them in grave danger. I couldn't afford to entrust them with their miraculous any longer, not when their lives were at stake.
As I listened to their stories and laughter, my heart sank. I knew what I had to do. I had to find suitable replacements for all of them, individuals who could take on the responsibility of protecting Paris and wielding the miraculous. It was a daunting task, but it was necessary to ensure both the safety of the miraculous and the well-being of my friends. Deep down, I hoped that they would understand the reasons behind my decision, even if it meant keeping them in the dark about my own identity as Ladybug.
Soon, to my utter displeasure, Lila Rossi strutted into the classroom as if she owned the place. She wasted no time inserting herself into the conversation about the temporary heroes, once again bragging about being "Ladybug's best friend." It made my blood boil, but I tried my best to keep my composure.
Just as Ms. Bustier entered the room, the chatter died down, and we all took our seats as she began the roll call. But before that, she delivered the news that Lila would be joining us for the remainder of the school year. The class erupted in applause, and Lila basked in the attention. Meanwhile, I couldn't help but scoff quietly under my breath.
As the teacher continued with the morning announcements, she declared that we would have a free day since she knew how taxing the events of "Miracle Queen" had been for all of us. The class cheered, and instantly everyone gathered in a circle in the first few rows of seats, clearly determined to make the most of this break. They were so loud, practically shouting to the world, and it made it difficult for me to concentrate on my designs.
"You know, I would've helped if I could, but a miraculous can't be activated twice, so I couldn't help," Lila chimed in, her voice dripping with fake sympathy. Alya's expression briefly fell before she perked back up, seemingly unaffected.
"I didn't realize there were multiple Miraculous of each kind," Max commented, genuinely intrigued by the revelation.
"Oh yeah, there are way more Miraculous scattered all over the place! They're in safe hands, unlike here. I actually know most of the guardians!" Lila boasted, blatantly lying without a care in the world. It was infuriating to listen to their conversation, knowing she was manipulating them all. But none of the others seemed to notice, all too happy to fall for her lies.
I couldn't help but scoff quietly to myself. What a load of nonsense. It didn't matter what they talked about or believed at this point. Soon enough, I would have to replace them all, find new heroes to protect Paris and wield the Miraculous. Their obliviousness to Lila's lies only reinforced my determination to keep them out of harm's way and ensure the safety of the miraculous.
"Do you think I was a good holder for Trixx?" Alya's hopeful voice reached my ears, her eyes shining with anticipation. I knew how much being Trixx's holder meant to her, and it pained me to see her seeking validation for her role and from Lila of all people.
But before I could respond, Lila, always eager to steal the spotlight, interjected with her false generosity. "Of course, Alya! You were absolutely amazing as Trixx's holder! In fact, I personally recommended Ladybug to choose you. After all, my own identity was exposed when I was Akumatized. But don't worry, no hard feelings towards you, Marinette, or anything," she said, her words oozing with insincerity.
I couldn't help but feel a surge of frustration at Lila's blatant lies. The audacity she had to twist the truth and manipulate everyone around her was infuriating. I rolled my eyes, struggling to contain my annoyance. At that moment, I made a conscious decision to tune out the rest of the class discussion, focusing solely on my sketches in an attempt to regain my composure.
As I sat in the classroom, surrounded by the cacophony of voices, I turned inward, finding solace in my sketches. With every stroke of my pencil, I channeled my frustrations and uncertainties, pouring them onto the pages before me. My designs took shape, each line representing my determination to protect Paris and find suitable replacements for my friends.
The discussions around me faded into the background as I focused solely on my task. Alya's excitement over Lila's false praises went unnoticed by me, for I knew the truth that lay beneath Lila's deceitful facade. I resisted the temptation to confront her, understanding that it would only complicate matters further.
My pencil moved with purpose, capturing the essence of what it meant to be a hero. Each design was infused with the qualities I sought in the next generation of miraculous holders—trustworthiness, bravery, and unwavering dedication. Through my art, I sought to bring forth the heroes that would carry the torch, ensuring the safety of our city.
Soon, the lunch bell rang, abruptly breaking the tense atmosphere that had settled over the classroom. Lost in my own distracted thoughts, I accidentally bumped into someone while stepping off the last step. A pained "Ow" escaped the person I collided with, and I looked up to see it was Lila.
"Seriously, Marinette?" Alya's voice carried a hint of disappointment, accompanied by a small glare directed my way.
My heart sank, ready to apologize for the accidental collision, but before I could utter a single word, Lila interjected, her tone mocking and deflecting the blame from me. "Alya, come on. I'm sure Marinette didn't mean it. We all know how clumsy she can be, right, Mari?" Her words were laced with insincerity, yet it seemed that everyone else remained oblivious to her true nature.
Silently enduring Lila's taunts, I felt a heaviness settle within me. The weight of her lies and manipulation had worn me down, and I longed for an escape from the constant torment. With a heavy sigh, I mustered an apology, "Right, yeah, sorry, Lila."
The air in the room grew suffocating, a toxic haze that threatened to consume my sanity. I could no longer bear the weight of the tension, the jagged edges of their conflict cutting into my soul. With a surge of resolve, I made a split-second decision to escape, seeking refuge from the chaos that plagued us all. But just as I turned to flee, fate intervened with a cruel twist.
My wrist was abruptly seized and yanked into the depths of an empty room. Startled, I looked up to find Adrien, his grip releasing me as realization dawned upon his face. The room crackled with electrifying energy, our gazes locked in a battle of emotions.
His gaze held a mix of concern and determination as he spoke, "Marinette, I'm glad you apologized, but you need to stay away from her. The tension between you two is escalating, and we can't risk her getting akumatized."
A pang of disappointment surged through me, realizing that Adrien's concern seemed solely focused on preventing an akumatization. It was as if my own emotional well-being was overshadowed by the need to protect Paris. A solitary tear escaped my eye, betraying the inner turmoil that had consumed me. Did he even care about how I was coping?
Quickly wiping away the tear, I straightened my posture and lifted my head. I summoned my inner strength, realizing that I needed to prioritize my own mental and emotional health. "Yeah, I understand, Adrien," I replied, my voice infused with a newfound determination.
It was at that moment that I felt more of my love for Adrien die. As I stared into Adrien's eyes, a chilling realization settled within me like frost creeping across my heart. The concern and determination etched on his face weren’t meant for me, he didn’t care about me, he wasn’t worried about me, he was only worried about Lila. With each passing second, it became clearer that my own emotional well-being was being eclipsed by the weight of his personal goal to maintain peace over all else, even if it meant siding with Lila over me.
As I made my way to the lunchroom, I deliberately chose to sit alone, seeking solace in my own company. It was a bittersweet moment of self-reflection, realizing that my once overwhelming crush on Adrien was gradually fading as I embraced my own resilience and independence. I vowed to focus on my own well-being and find strength within myself, even if it meant distancing myself from those who couldn't see beyond the facade.
Sitting there, alone at the lunch table, I took a moment to gather myself. Inhaling deeply, I attempted to push aside the negative emotions that had burdened me since morning. Opening my lunch bag, I took a small bite of my sandwich, trying to find some solace in the familiar taste.
My eyes wandered around the bustling lunchroom, finally settling on the group of my friends gathered at our usual table. Nino, Alya, Adrien, and Lila were deeply engrossed in conversation, oblivious to the internal turmoil that had been consuming me. Seeing them together, the laughter and camaraderie they shared, a pang of sadness washed over me. I yearned for the days when we were united when Lila's lies hadn't torn us apart.
Taking another bite of my sandwich, I realized that dwelling on the past wouldn't change the present reality. I had to find a way to move forward, to adapt to the changes that had occurred. As much as it hurt to see my friends oblivious to Lila's deceit, I couldn't force them to see the truth. I had to focus on taking care of myself and protecting Paris from impending danger.
The lunch period had passed by quickly, and it was time to face the remainder of the school day. Gathering my belongings, I took one last glance at my friends' table, silently wishing them well.
Walking away from the lunchroom, I carried within me a newfound determination. I knew that the road ahead wouldn't be easy, but I was ready to face the challenges head-on. With each step, I embraced the strength that lay within me, ready to protect Paris, fulfill my responsibilities as Ladybug, and carve out my own destiny.
The rest of the day crawled by, each passing hour stretching like a lifetime of loneliness. I found myself adrift in a sea of unfamiliar faces, a ghostly figure haunting the halls of my own school. The once familiar classrooms became foreign territories, the laughter, and camaraderie of my friends now distant echoes.
As the final bell rang, signaling the end of another desolate day, a flicker of hope ignited within me. I mustered the remnants of my courage and approached Alya, desperate to salvage the fragments of our shattered plans.
"Hey, Alya," I said, my voice laced with hope and excitement, "we're still hanging out at my house, right?"
Her face twisted momentarily, a flicker of guilt dancing in her eyes before she responded, oblivious to the magnitude of her words. "Oh, Marinette... I completely forgot. I made arrangements to interview Lila again for the ladyblog!" Her voice brimmed with excitement, oblivious to the dagger it drove into my wounded heart.
I tried to conceal my disappointment, my fragile hope crumbling like ashes in the wind. A hollow smile formed on my lips, a veil to hide the ache that gnawed at my core. "Okay, maybe another day then?" I managed to utter, my voice trembling with a bittersweet sadness that threatened to consume me.
Alya nodded hastily, already engulfed in the fervor of her new endeavor. She dashed away, leaving me standing there, a solitary figure in a world that had forgotten my existence. I mustered a feeble farewell, my voice swallowed by the void between us. "Good luck," I called after her, the words dissipating into emptiness, lost to the winds of apathy.
Feeling a mix of sadness and frustration, I decided to linger at school a little longer. I sought refuge in my sketches, pouring my emotions onto the pages, seeking solace in the strokes of my pencil.
As the sun began its descent, casting a warm glow across the city, I finally left the school grounds. Aching for a moment of peace, I took a detour through the park on my way home. Lost in my thoughts, I walked aimlessly, oblivious to the world around me.
Then, amidst the hazy twilight, I heard my name. "-I just don't get why she's so mean to me." I looked up, drawn towards the gathering of my classmates surrounding Lila. My heart sank as I watched her weaving a tale of my supposed cruelty. I couldn't bear to witness the charade any longer. With a tear streaming down my cheek, I ran the rest of the way home, seeking solace within the familiar walls of my sanctuary.
As I closed the door behind me, leaning against it for support, I wiped away my tears, trying to gather myself. Taking a deep breath, I entered the bakery, where my parents were finishing up dinner. Their comforting presence provided a much-needed refuge.
During dinner, my parents must have been able to tell something was wrong with me because as soon as I sat down to eat with them I was greeted by my mother asking me, "Is everything okay, sweetie?"
I let out a heavy sigh, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on me. "Not really," I admitted, my voice barely audible. "It's Lila. She's spreading lies about me again, and now the whole class is turning against me."
My father put down his fork, his eyes fixed on me with genuine worry. "What kind of lies is she telling this time?" he asked, his voice filled with fatherly concern.
Taking a moment to collect myself, I shared the latest incident in the park. "She's determined to poison everyone's perception of me," I explained, frustration and hurt seeping into my words. Tears welled up in my eyes, betraying my emotional turmoil.
My mother reached across the table, taking my hand in a comforting gesture. "Remember, Marinette, we know who you truly are," she reminded me, her voice filled with unwavering support. "Don't let her lies define you."
A faint smile tugged at the corners of my lips, grateful for the love and understanding from my parents. "Thank you, Maman, Papa," I whispered, gratitude lacing my words. "I just wish it would stop. It feels like she always manages to stay one step ahead of me."
My father's gaze softened, and he gently patted my hand. "We'll find a way, Marinette," he assured me, his voice brimming with determination. "Perhaps it's time to speak to your teacher or the principal. It's important to address this situation."
I nodded, contemplating my father's suggestion. "You're right," I agreed. "I can't keep allowing her to trample all over me. Maybe seeking help from someone in authority is the right course of action. Although, I'm worried it might make things worse."
My mother squeezed my hand reassuringly, her eyes filled with unwavering support. "Speaking up for yourself isn't making things worse, my dear," she affirmed. "You deserve to be heard and respected. Remember, we're here for you every step of the way."
A surge of determination coursed through me, pushing aside my doubts and insecurities. I realized that it was time to reclaim my voice, refusing to be a victim of Lila's lies any longer. With newfound strength and resolve, I finished my dinner, ready to face the challenges that lay ahead.
At that moment, I knew I had my parents' unwavering support, and that was all I needed to confront Lila and assert my true self.
As the evening waned, I retreated to my room, surrounded by sketches and designs that represented my creativity and resilience. Sitting at my desk, I made a silent promise to myself — to rise above the pain, protect my city, and never let the weight of others' lies define me.
Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath, feeling a flicker of hope ignited within me. I knew that I possessed the strength to overcome any obstacle. With that newfound resolve in my heart, I let myself drift off to sleep, ready to face the uncertainties of tomorrow with unwavering determination.

Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job #39: “Tennis” | April 13, 2009 - 12:30AM | S04E10
The final 4:3 episode of Awesome Show! This is maybe one of the weaker episodes of the season, which is quite a shame. Shoulda ended the season on Cinco Bros, my men.
Spagett shills for Cigarette Juice, which features all the nicotine buzz you crave in the form of a canned beverage. It’s also got what appear ot be flecks of tobacco in it. This is one of those bits they do where the gross visuals do the heavy lifting, but I genuinely find this one pretty effective. “GOOD NEWS: CIGARETTE JUICE” is the jingle, and it actually is very catchy. It’s a weirdly believable slogan.
I also like the bit where Spagett is on the phone complaining to a manager or somebody that they refuse to give him a towel after dumping juice all over him. Him being an occasional cigar-user is fun, I love that for him. SPECIAL NOTE: one can hear a snippet of Children of the Sun by Robert Lueben, used memorably in the video of Tim & Eric playing with their pets from Nite Live.
Another sketch features Glen Tennis, making the title of the episode a double entendre. What a treat. I like this one too. Glen Tennis’s movie stars Grum, as seen in the Anniversary episode. He made a computer animated movie about the first Thanksgiving that is only slightly more inaccurate than what American schools teach kids. Grum mistaking the natives for “clowns” is hilarious, and the shot of him menacingly eating maize is very funny/memorable. I also appreciate the bit about the proprietary video system required to view the movie. It’s a good one!
There’s a sketch in here where two divorced-looking men sloppily eat wings and then it becomes a music video where Tim sings a sorrowful song about how he misses his wife. I don’t think this one’s bad, but it just misses the mark for me. A noble effort, I guess. I vaguely remember when press for season three was underway, one of the articles used a photo from this shoot. Tim and Eric episodes are like Guided by Voices albums, where sometimes a song recorded years prior makes its way onto the track listing. I don’t hate it, just don’t like it that much.
The rest of the episode is dedicated to the wraparound: Tim and Eric are in a million-dollar Tennis match with one another. Tim can’t even serve the ball and loses point after point, so Eric offers to call it off. Tim refuses, and then miraculously starts to pull it out. At the last minute, he fucks up big time. Eric wins, and he’s a poor sportsman. Not only does he gloat about besting his friend, he also smacks him in the head with his racket, twice.
This wraparound has some funny moments, but it’s kinda unfocused. I dislike them focusing on Tim’s double take when Eric mispronounces his own name. They should know better than to do that, come on. They do that kind of spoon-feeding “what-the?” style humor so infrequently that it sticks out the few times they do indulge. This is one of those times. There’s also a Mel Brooksian gag where they are very obviously replaced by doubles (Are these the Flight of the Concords guys? I think they might be?? They are supposedly in this and I'm guessing that's them).
This episode inexplicably features The Lonely Island boys and Fred Armisen, who just show up to root along at the sidelines of the Tennis court. The episode ends with David Liebe Hart clumsily delivering the line: “My best friend just got hit in the head by his best friend. Don’t you have any FEELINGS for him?”. Now that (a weird guy talking) I like.
MAIL BAG
GREAT stuff about the last Xavier episode we covered:
Ah damnesia vu! I also love this episode, in a lot of ways I kind of consider it the unofficial pilot episode to Off The Air just cause of how much DNA it shares with it. Weird, trippy, sometimes scary clips, all in different styles strung together seamlessly into one thing through video editing, starting on a cold open of some random video that gets bookended at the end of the episode which plays a moving song over the credits. I'm sure I'm describing it horribly but that's the gist of it.
This makes sense to me! I respect it!
I do have a lot of trivia on it, though: they made a page for the contest which was released on the adult swim website, and as part of the contest they released some of the actual 3d models used in the show. It's on archive DOT org if you dig hard enough, having the actual files used in a show always kinda fascinated me, to my knowledge It's the only show I know of that did something like this officially without it being a leak or a 3 second flash file on some animator's website.
I was most curious about what the contest actually looked like on a practical level, but didn't even know how to begin to look for that stuff. I had no memory of the contest at all. I guess I wasn't paying close enough attention.
The first clip, by grant of "3GI", he ended up doing something kinda similar in 2018 with the movie Shrek: "Shrek Retold", a bunch of animators redid different scenes. David Libre Hart & Michael Cusack (2 [AS] people) are in it, It got like 10 million views and a bunch of articles written about it. youtube DOT com/watch?v=pM70TROZQsI
You know, I looked at his page and saw the Shrek Retold thing and didn't even give a thought to click on that stuff. I had no idea that was such a big thing.
You already covered shmorky so I'll just point out he did a few bumpers for Adult Swim (including this famous one youtube DOT com/watch?v=0oBx7Jg4m-o) and link this other video he did, it's one of the most unintentional bits of cringe comedy ever made (that's his real voice btw) youtube DOT com/watch?v=F-4jZzfoEz8
I vaguely knew about the "THIS IS FINE" connection at one point, but I forgot about that. holy moly, dark stuff in that second video. I'm writing this in haste but I can't wait to make myself feel weird by watching that entire thing. THAT VOICE! I NEVER KNEW
The video towards the end where Xavier eats his own fingers was done by Devin Flynn, who created "Y'all so stupid" for superdelxue and did misc. Shorts on Wonder Showzen and Off the Air. I think all the submissions are on the DVD in full (could be wrong about this). I found a reddit post talking about the contest that links to archived versions of the pages & models. (reddit DOT com/r/adultswim/comments/70brc8/xavier_renegade_angel_3d_models_rediscovered/?rdt=40391)
I sorta suspected that was Devin Flynn, hell yeah. I just checked and the DVD actually has submissions that DIDN'T get picked! I should watch them, probably, but I'm not gonna for this blog. I'm going to do it for fun and not tell anyone about it.
One final thing: on your post all the links after the first one link to the ketchup video lmao
I'm not going to check because you're obviously trolling me and they probably all work fine! How dare you.
But, also, thank you for your service, you did a better write-up than I did. YOU FUCKERS SOUND BETTER THAN ME TONIGHT

a modern verse for kurama —— or more accurately: minamino shuichi. ** note that this verse will constantly have additions and alterations made as i continue to rewatch and reread yyh, as well as when i get new ideas since this will be a primary verse for kurama ** before reading this post, it might be good to read this post first. while it's heavily connected to yyh, it does go over kitsune lore, references kurama's true age, and other details that are pertinent here
name: kurama or yoko kurama, king of thieves, king of bandits alias: currently minamino shuichi species: (kitsune) yokai posing as human*
* this is still what kurama describes as a merger — he has not possessed the human fetus he stole away into but literally overtook it. he is as much that human body as it is him.
human age: currently 19 yokai age: 5,000 (presumed over 5,000) birthday: march 03 (shuichi) -> this is the fanon birthday that the japanese fanbase celebrates for kurama
hair color: red eye color: green height: 6'0 body type: lithe
kitsune fur color: silver kitsune eye color: gold
profession: flower shop worker, formerly an employee of his stepfather's small business — despite being a top honor student, he did not pursue going to college or any other form of higher education
what about his mother? stepfather? step-brother? — his mother (shiori) still gets sick, but miraculously recovers with special herbs and remedies grown by kurama himself. it nearly cost them both their lives. she still gets remarried, he still gains a step-brother (also named shuichi), and still ends up (temporarily, in this instance) working for his stepfather. they live in a large, comfortable house. his mother works at his stepfather's company.
what about hiei, yusuke, and the others? — he has no affiliation with urameshi yusuke or kuwabara kazuma. he was an upperclassman, went to a different school, and overall? they avoided each other, running with different social circles, and having different goals. whether yusuke is even alive is questionable. as for hiei, they know each other, or at least it's hinted that kurama has a demon affiliation in the human world. what hiei is up to him is up to him. overall? they do not come up much in kurama's modern verse, unfortunately.
what are his goals? his original goal was to regain his power, and leave his "mother" (and the original "father", who was alive at the time) at the age of 10, but found he could not after his shirori risked her life for him when he was roughly "9". (this portion of his backstory is also in that linked post above) now? he seeks to live a simple human existence, battling with his two identities, and blend into human society. as he grows older in the human realm, his powers as a yokai only grow stronger, more unstable. he is still deciding if he should leave his family, trying to gauge a point where they "no longer need" him.
cont. a lot of kurama's powers (the rose whip, the use of plants as weapons, his healing abilities) are still present in this verse. the skills he has in yyh are directly reflected into this modern verse.
as for the demon world ... there is no demon world, but there is (usually) a spirit world. humans and demons live in the same plane of existence, or this adapts per thread.
regarding kitsune lore, i am still following what i do in his yyh verse. it's based a lot off various kitsun mythos, but ultimately abides by togashi's (loose) interpretation(s).
to start, there is no humanoid yoko form in this verse. his only yokai form is that of a kitsune, the fox we see in the manga and anime. he cannot seem to revert back to his kitsune form.
in this interpretation, following yyh, he started as a fox (of sorts?), became a kitsune (sometimes called a demon), and earned his silver coloring and subsequently his four tails (gaining one every thousand years). he was a thief fox who specialized in breaking seals and codes, picking locks, and stealing treasures and artifacts.
what happened to yoko? similarly to yyh, he was accosted by a hunter who overwhelmed him, almost killing him, before he "merged" with the fetus of shiori.
what is he doing now? living with his family and running a flower shop that he intends to buy.

Reading The Dark Prophecy: Chapter 15 (SPOILERS)
"Can't catch me!-- Oh, poop!" I can't tell if this is censoring or if they ran into the carnivorous horses or it's both. Am I too excited to see the carnivorous shit horses again?
"half a mile an hour" NOOO THEIR GETAWAY VEHICLE IS SLOWER THAN WALKING
"they probably assumed they'd have plenty of time to come after us." And they'd be right.
"My bladder sloshed." TMI.
"The choo-choo tilted sideways" I like it when they call it a choo-choo instead of a train. Idk why. It just brings me joy, no questions asked.
"those times the sun chariot had to veer to avoid . . . a Chinese celestial dragon." Lol when mythologies collide
"the packet was miraculously intact in Calypso's arms." Yeah, you'd better keep that safe. You know how much it cost?! No, of course you don't.
"He used to enjoy using them for target practice." :/ Do not use ostriches for target practice. "All these animals will be killed?" Animal activist!Calypso to the rescue!
"Their hides are impervious to all metal weapons--like the Nemean Lion" So what made the Nemean LIon special? Was it because it was a lion? Was the Nemean Lion's skin also impervious to other things like fire and pressure?
"the endangered three-eyed stoat" The definition for STOAT is too long, but it's basically a tiny weasel. The three-eyed thing is made-up.
Tumblr media
"with egg." Yes, with egg. I think you're missing an "an" there.
"I really didn't feel like singing about all my failures again" Well, too bad. Your lives and the griffins' lives are all in danger. Beggars can't be choosers. Besides, there exist other ways to move people through music.
"Calypso handed me the packet of Tots." Oh yeah, I forgot about the Tots. I can't believe I forgot about the $15,000 Tater Tots.
"You have a decent voice." Uh, he's not gonna like that. Calypso's definitely getting smited the second Apollo regains godhood.
"when he was Kronos's cupbearer, Zeus used to entertain the court with songs." Now that is a surreal mental image. I love hearing about the lives of the gods that we never hear about from the demigods' perspective. I totally forgot that Zeus spent time in the Titan court before overthrowing them.
"why would she forgive me if I apologized now?" The point of an apology isn't for forgiveness. It is to show your remorse and prove that you've changed regardless of whether the person you're apologizing to accepts it. I want to see Apollo realize this.
"Like a true gentleman, he waited until I removed my hand before swallowing down the snack." PogChamp No one loses an arm!
"bloody and battered but still very much alive, was Lityerses" Did the vines really do that much damage? Never mind, I just checked back and turns out the rest of the canopy, lumber and all, fell on him as well.

Miraculous New York Special Rewrite Ideas
Ok so, I think a lot of us can agree that the Miraculous specials are no better than the show for the most part. So, alongside bits and pieces of the series, I took a jump in and tried to rewrite a bit of it, specifically the New York special, because it was easy to tackle.
The Problems.
The pacing feels really off, I mean that there's a bunch of time for shipping, which is fine, and then it all goes to the dumps really quickly. Personally I believe bumping up the runtime to about an hour and a half would give it that same padding to really explore its narrative.
The US superheroes feel really disjointed from the rest of the series. For me, having just other random people in the miraculous world simply having powers doesn't feel like it adequately adds to the lore any more so than the questions it brings up. How do people have superpowers? Why is it just in the US? Why don't any superpowered Parisians jump in every now and then? This can easily be fixed, though, by swapping them all out and instead having all of the US heroes be government appointed holders of the miraculous. I’ll talk more about this concept in the actual rewrite section.
I really don't like the eagle miraculous’s power. It has some really strong basis, but its execution feels flat and plot submissive. This has been an issue for quite a while now, with instead of miraculous powers being their own thing while animal relevant AND adaptable to multiple situations (think powers like of the main group in the miracle box) a lot of the zodiac kwamis have their powers decided based on what works best with the problem in their debut episode. For instance, the pig, chicken, ox, tiger and goat miraculouses all feel less than stellar when it comes to a power based on the symbolism of these animals. Anyway back to the eagle miraculous, liberation fits, but I feel that instead of liberating people from their inhibitions, they are liberated from anything that suppresses their freedom (e.g. chains, imprisonment in any kind, mind control and akumatization)
The Rewrite.
Alright so the beginning can remain pretty much unchanged, with Ladybug and Chat noir fighting a villain in Paris again. Once they defeat them, at the top of the eiffel tower, the camera pans out to a news broadcast where we get something like a news bulletin covering the attack, as well as the notion that it's been one year since the heroes emerged to defend the city.
Next, the news also brings up the French-American friendship day thing, and we see the US president inviting Ladybug and Chat noir to New York to celebrate with the US heroes, who are all miraculous holders standing behind him.
We then exit out of the broadcast to Marinette and Adrian’s classroom, where the broadcast was being shown, where their teacher tells the class that they're going to New York. the part where Adrian is convinced he won't be allowed to go can stay, and so the scene transitions to Agreste manor where we see Gabriel contemplating the US heroes. He probably already has come to the realisation that they are miraculous holders, because their hero uniforms would probably be made to hide that fact as best they can, so as not to get stolen or anything. Natalie stands behind him, saying that the US heroes’s powers align with what is said about the native american miracle box, and so Gabriel decides to use the field trip to his advantage, allowing Aidrien to attend.
All of the scenes from here until they get settled in their hotel in New york can stay basically the same, except the attack on the plane. The villain can stay the same, but Majestia and Night Owl in my rewrite are sot just ripodd superman and batman. Majestia can get the eagle miraculous because it is easiest for the plot, and Night Owl can get the owl miraculous (There is an owl miraculous I checked the wiki). At this point Sparrow and Uncanney Valley Dont have miraculouses, and I am tempted on whether or not keeping uncanny valley a robot or not but it doesn't really matter for the rewrite so I’ll just say they're both part of a new government initiative to find new holders for each american miraculous that can be overseen by the government.
When we get to New York, everything can stay the same for a bit, specifically throughout the hotel scenes and the party scene on the roof, I thought that was cute. Except for the hotdog hero, because of my rewrite they might just have a barbeque instead.
Similarly, the scenes in the museum work fine, with Hawkmoth instead akumatizing the techno pirate villain to cause mayhem and lure out the heroes rather than retrieving Lafayette's sabre, because the miraculous is with the heroes, not in the museum.
Still, the techno pirate villain attacks the museum, for like, plot reasons. Maybe he was just in the area in the back of the transport truck when the akuma hit, and he goes in and starts wrecking house. Sparrow and uncanny valley jump in, but they aren't used to fighting akumatized villains, so it goes just about as well as one would expect. They call for the other heroes, but that's when Chat noir and Ladybug jump in to stop the villain, and they do eventually, with them purifying the akuma as the other heroes get there. Some of them are hesitant to trust Ladybug and Chat noir, but others are congratulating them. Either way, the scene finishes off with Gabriel in his apartment with Natalie learning that the duo did in fact come to New York, and begins his overall plan.
The next scene is an impromptu awarding of Ladybug and Chat noir for their bravery by the President. They're at some formal place in New york, and maybe for plot convenience the french class is also in attendance. Ladybug and chat noir are backstage, where they are met with the apparent guardian of the native american miracle box.
The guardian tells them about how when the US government found the existence of the miraculouses, the scoured the whole nation to find the guardian, and then basically threatened him to give them up into the possession of the US government as a way to ‘protect the nation’ when in actuality they just wanted to seize the power they held. They distributed each miraculous to their top agents, from all kinds of professions and basically contracted them into being heroes as well as government agents.
This is most definitely a metaphor for things like the corruption of the US government and the exploitation of indigenous american resources which obviously wouldn't be in the original because Zagtoon isn't ballsy enough but it is in my rewrite. Shove over Hawkmoth, there's a new villain in town.
Anyway, once the guardian tells Marinette about how the miraculouses are out of balance, she and Chat noir are pulled on stage and awarded, and here would be just some more villain attacks that come through into the area. Maybe they're amoks instead of akumas so they’re just easier to explain away.
Ladybug and Chat noir fight the sentimonsters, but in the process cause a lot of property damage and a lot of people are hurt, maybe even the president, and he end up ordering that they relinquish their miraculouses and have them traded to a government agent in France, or better yet, New York.
Immediately sensing the danger, they flee, becoming runaways in the city of new york. The government puts out a call to all the New York heroes to find them. They essentially become fugitives, with all the US heroes chasing after them through the city. The kind of dynamic I wanted for them was like the Ace Ops from volume 7 of RWBY, where some are sympathetic, trying to reason and others are just angry by betrayal. Either way everyones trying to get them, due to them having to follow orders. Eventually, everyone’s turmoil reaches the peak where Gabriel becomes Harwmoth once again, and akimatizes Natalie into Catalyst, which allows him to send out a bunch of akumas which latch onto all of the conflicted and angry US heroes.
Once the US president realises things are out of control, he tries to call back the heroes, but it's no use. He probably calls in the american miracle box guardian, who would tell him that there is no way to stop them, and that these are the repercussions of trying to control such a primal force.
Eventually, Ladybug and Chat noir meet up with Sparrow and Uncanny Valley and they all have their darkest hour moment. They all are pretty sure that there's no way to reasonably defeat all of the akumatized heroes, and they all are about to give up, when Ladybug suggests that they just match the force.
Then, Ladybug, for the first time, connects her yoyo to the chinese miracle box, where she pulls out miraculouses. To preface, this was something she couldn't do before, so it's a bit of a shock to everyone, but she end up taking out the fox and the turtle miraculous, hell maybe even the bee (because chloe deserved a good redemption arc instead of a character assassination she was so close) and they go out and find their friends, and expand their team.
With their newly expanded team, they go after the akumatized heroes. Specifically, Sparrow and Uncanny Valley take note of Majestia, or the eagle miraculous’s power of liberation. They theorise that it may be able to liberate people from their akumas if they could reclaim it
And so they do that. They go and fight Majestia and they win, explaining the situation and getting the eagle miraculous. In actuality, majestia gives it to Sparrow as a way to symbolically hand over the torch of heroism to the new generation.
With her new powers, Sparrow, now Eagle assists in fighting all the leftover heroes with her new powers. And eventually they save New York. Hawkmoth gives up again because I guess that needs to happen for plot.
Then the heroes all go to the President and he renounces control over the native american miracle box back into its rightful guardian to go and find new heroes that are worthy. When Eagle goes to give hers back, he refuses, saying she should keep it.
And with that, the excursion ends, and everyone goes home.
And that's my rewrite of the Miraculous Ladybug New York Special. Sorry this one was Unreasonably Long but I enjoy sharing all my ideas about shows that I love and if I can inspire others then all the better. I might do this with my other rewrite ideas but who knows that's all up to me being lazy enough or not.

15 Question Tag Game | OC Edition
Thanks for the open tag @just-french-me-up to answer these questions about my OC! I love talking about my beloved Carlotta Suero - she features in various Miraculous Ladybug fics, with focus on her in The world is still sleeping, while I keep on dreaming and these are times that can't be weathered (and we have never been back there since then), and it's been too long since I talked about her <333
Rules: answer the questions below as yourself and/or your OC. (I'd also add that you make your own post).
1. Are they named after anyone?
Yes! Her first name is after Carlotta Brown from Enid Blyton's Twins at St Clare's series. Carlotta Brown is, like my Carlotta, Spanish by birth and a bit on the wild side with a desire for adventure and refusal to bow down to a perceived authority determined to make her conform. Very fitting for my girl.
Suero is a Spanish surname that I chose because it was likely my dad's family's surname a few hundred years or so ago. We don't know at what point we left Spain for Ireland, but Suero is a common surname in the area we were most likely from. Lil shoutout <3
Her middle name, Estrella, is slightly after my friend Stella, who is possibly the coolest person I've ever interacted with in my entire life.
2. When was the last time they cried?
these are times that can't be weathered (and we have never been back there since then) actually addresses this! Carlotta made a (implied to be unhealthy) choice at four years old that crying is pointless after witnessing a beached whale die in New Zealand. Her mother, in an attempt to lessen her heartbreak, tells her that "We shouldn't cry at something so beyond our control!" and she internalises it very heavily until her mid/late teens when she discovers the horrific truth about Gabriel Agreste's favourite pastime, and slowly breaks down in tears thinking about how it's going to fucking wreck her friend Adrien (Gabriel's son) when he finds out.
3. Do they have kids?
No, largely because Carlotta has a lot of me in her, and I don't want kids. I also unintentionally designed her superhero alterego as having the colour scheme of the asexual pride flag, so make of that what you will.
4. Do they use sarcasm?
Yes, but mostly with her younger siblings. She tries not to with Adrien because he's (in my canon) autistic and also very sheltered, so he doesn't always get it and she hates being bitchy to him even by accident because it feels like kicking a small animal. She's more a deadpan snarker than anything else, sarcasm-wise. Marinette is very much the same way, so they'll watch bad movies together and snark their way through it as a bonding exercise.
5. What’s the first thing they notice about people
Voice undertones. Carlotta is visually impaired - she has occipital lobe damage from a skateboarding accident at age 13 and has hemianopsia as a result - so sound has become even more important to her than it already was. And it was important to begin with - as a diver, she spends a lot of time underwater, and sound travels faster and further underwater than light does. Since her accident, she's learned how to pick up on tonal significance very very accurately. She can hazard a scarily accurate guess within five minutes as to where someone is from and what they think of the person introducing her to them.
6. What’s their eye colour?
Dark brown with slight violet undertones, turning fully bright violet with her Whale Miraculous transformation.
7. Scary movies or happy endings?
Both, in a way; Carlotta adores high-stakes adventure movies with happy endings. A few jumpscares go down a treat, so long as everyone's found peace by the end.
8. Any special talents?
Besides learned skills (scuba diving, playing violin, skateboarding etc.) Carlotta is weirdly good at convincing people she's way more of a goofball than she actually is. All her childish antics do a good job of concealing how genuinely intelligent and sharp-minded she really is.
9. Where were they born?
Maternity ward in Asturias, Spain, in the Spring of 2000.
10. What are their hobbies?
Scuba diving, playing violin, and skateboarding!
11. Do they have any pets?
Her mother has a service dog, a golden labrador named Honey, after she had a workplace accident that left her with multiple severe burns from the waist down; Carlotta herself doesn't really consider Honey to be *hers* though. She did have a magical underwater encounter with a juvenile sperm whale off the Azores who she named Herman, but Herman is, of course, a wild animal, and more a friend than a pet.
12. What sports do they play/have they played?
Carlotta is very into swimming and diving! She's a very powerful long-distance swimmer, and has competed in diving competitions. She prefers outdoorsey activities to actual sports, though - things like skateboarding and tree-climbing.
13. How tall are they?
Five foot eleven inches (same height as me!). I wanted more tall girl characters, so I made one.
14. Favourite subject in school?
Biology. She wants to be a cetologist, and has thus far managed to find a way to turn the topic of every essay back towards oceanic megafauna.
15. Dream job?
Part time cetologist (she wants to be the first scientist to film the birth of a blue whale) and part time superhero. Maybe both at the same time!
Tagging @hanaasbananas @theladyfae @private-bryan @multimousenette and anyone else who would like to talk about their OC!

How I Would Reorganize The Agreste Plotline To Fit With The Show
CONTAINS SEASON 5 SPOILERS AND LEAKS
I’m referring to everything here as reorganize instead of rewrite since I am keeping all the content that has been presented in the show with some slight embellishing.
If you’re wondering how I’d envision the Agreste poltline if it were meant for an older audience check out this post
Display tension between Gabriel and Nathalie. Show that both are stressed and are stewing on the what-ifs. During a heated moment, Nathalie snaps.
Flashback 1: Adrien is a young child.
The events of Heroes Day play out like in ML proper . However, have Gabriel explicitly mention that it was the peacock miraculous that made Emilie ill.
Flashback 2: Post Emilie’s disappearance but before season 1.
She and Gabriel have many romantically charged moments. At one point, they almost kiss but Gabriel hesitates.
Introduce sentimonsters like in ML proper.
He asks to stop modeling but is denied.
Flashback 3: Gabriel, Nathalie, and Emilie as young adults. They travel the world in search of adventures and the miraculouses. Both Nathalie and Emilie have feelings for Gabriel. He shows interest in both girls, but ultimately chooses Emilie.
Nathalie and Gabriel’s relationship begins to crumble as several events occur: Gabriel rejects her romantically, he dives headfirst into madness, and then he does not leave the USB drive in the past like in ML Evolution. Nathalie declares that she will no longer help him, and states that she did everything for him because she loved him.
Adrien starts to look into his mother’s disappearance with Plagg and Ladybug’s encouragement. He discovers that his mother knew about the miraculouses.
At the end of the season the alias rings are introduced.
Gabriel allows Adrien to stop modeling.
Flashback 4: Flashback of Gabriel and Emilie falling in love. Amelie and Colton’s rocky marriage. Same as the leaks.
Season 5
The catacylsm happens. Gabriel’s subsequent illness is explicitly shown.
Nathalie actively goes against Gabriel and helps Adrien in any way she can.
Felix is Argos. Events of Emotion take place. It is made clear that he is a sentimonster. It is only hinted that Kagami is one too.
Adrien find out his father is Hawkmoth, and then that his mother is dead.
Gabriel is stunned. This forces him to come to terms that due to his selfishness, he has lost the two most important women in his life. He makes one final wish: to sacrifice himself to bring back balance. He dies. Emilie is still dead, but Nathalie lives.
Flashback 5: Emilie uses the peacock miraculous and she descends into a coma.

26 or 42 + benny?
“How dare you?”
Benny could hardly contain her rage. Her fist shook under the table at the smug smirk on her supposed ally’s face. This was a backstab, a betrayal of the highest degree, and it would not be forgotten quickly.
“Longest road, bitch!” Lenora slammed her game piece down onto the board with a force that rattled the kitchen table. Benny could not contain her scowl as the mechanic gleefully took the thick card from Millie’s waiting hand. “And how many points does that give me, Millie?” she asked with a malicious cackle.
Millie made a mark on the napkin. “Nine.”
Lenora’s prosthetic legs tapped happily against the floor. “Victory will be sweet.”
“Hey, I’m not far behind you,” Millie reprimanded while Misfit jumped into her lap. “And Benny is, well…” Three pairs of eyes settled on the tan game piece that was placed right next to Benny’s blue settlement. “Catan just isn’t your speed, huh?”
“Didn’t you lead a war?”
“She lost.”
“Oh, yeah.”
“Fuck you,” Benny mumbled as she set her empty hand on the table. She had had one card left when the 7 was rolled, a precious brick that had hardly appeared throughout the entire game. So far, Benny had not been able to build any settlements on the dry clay foothills, draining her of pastures of sheep and mountains of ore every time she needed to build a road. “We had an agreement, Lenora! The robber did not need to be used in such a manor yet.”
Lenora sucked a faux-regretful breath through her teeth. “Unfortunately, my dear friend, war is hell.” She passed the dice to Millie. “Cut your arm off and I’ll reconsider.”
Said arm tingled at the words. It was the whole reason the Actium’s strongest warriors were playing juvenile board games instead of partaking in the current mission that left the rest of the ship empty. Their last mark had fancied himself some sort of animal enthusiast. Raiden and Halin had learned that while collecting intel, though they had failed to learn that he kept a few bait dogs as trophy pets. Bait dogs that were then released into the dark, tight hallways of his menagerie basement. Millie, miraculously, had avoided its bite, though the weight of a panther-sized alien crashing into her had shattered a femur and crushed a few ribs, not to mention the damage its claws had done to her. Benny had not been so lucky. She had taken the bite instead of allowing the alien to go after an unarmed Amara, deciding in a split second that her implant would have to protect her against its own innate electricity. It had, somewhat, though her affected arm was still largely paralyzed from the encounter. What Benny has not accounted for, though, was the host of bacteria contained in a bait dog’s mouth. The infection had spread quickly, almost taking her whole arm, something that Lenora found humorous more than anything.
“Unfortunately, my dear friend,” Benny responded as Millie rolled the dice between her hands, “you will have to remain the sole amputee on this ship.” She ruefully grabbed three sheep cards as the dice hit the table. Lenora blew a raspberry at her.
Millie handed the dice to Benny. “That makes you special, Nora.”
“Oh, I know. I just wanted to hear you say it.” Comfortable silence, save for Misfit’s purring, filled the kitchen as Benny rolled and the appropriate cards were distributed. “How do y’all think it’s going?”
“No one has called in dead yet.” Even in their less-than-physically-able state, they still kept a communication device on the table in case they were needed for backup. Millie didn’t need her leg to shoot straight, and Benny had trained herself to be ambidextrous, should the dire need arise. “But my guess is not good.”
Benny hummed in acknowledgment. “Raiden is with them.”
Millie raised a brow. “Last time Mare took charge, we ended up with you. No offense, Benny, I love you, but-”
“No, no, you are correct.”
Lenora leaned her chair back at a dangerous angle, though somehow she didn’t fall. “You think Halin gave Erin a-” She paused as the ship rumbled, the distinctive sound of the cargo bay door lowering. Misfit wasted no time jumping off of Millie’s lap and running towards the sound.
Raiden walked in a few moments later, a scowl on his face as Misfit weaved through his legs, almost tripping him. He was absolutely drenched in what appeared to be… well, Benny didn’t know. Oil? Sewage? Whatever it was, it reeked. “Damn cat,” he mumbled as he threw the fridge open and removed a carton of orange juice. “Hey, ladies,” he acknowledged after a long gulp. “How was holding down the fort?”
“Disgusting,” Millie spat as he took his place between Benny and Lenora, carton still in hand. “You and your drinking habits. Get out of my kitchen.”
“Hey.” Halin entered before Raiden could retort. She was limping, heavily favoring her left side as she headed towards the sink. Amara was trailing her closely, the bottom of her labcoat soaked with fresh blood. Erin and Esther entered last. Prominent tear streaks stained Esther’s rosy cheeks, and Erin was desperately trying to pretend that he was still in possession of the bottom half of his shirt.
Benny and Millie tensed in unison. “The fuck happened here?” Millie asked as Halin leaned against the counter.
“Hmm? Nothing.” Halin shrugged. “Mission was good.” The group behind her nodded and gave less-enthusiastic agreements before hurrying off to different corners of the ship with snacks in hand.
“Don’t ask,” Raiden said as the injured trio turned quickly back to him. “I’ve been sworn to secrecy.” He stood after downing the entire carton. Before either could respond, he stopped low, pressing an oily kiss to Benny’s cheek and running a greasy hand down the length of Lenora’s face. “I’m getting out of your kitchen, Auman,” he practically sang as he danced away, narrowly avoiding a kick from Lenora.
The trio sat in stunned silence for a few moments. “I thought they were simply picking up a package?” Benny finally murmured.
“Which makes one thing perfectly clear,” Lenora announced as she grabbed the dice. “You two need to get back on the field, and fast.”

Praise the Lord! Welcome to today’s word ministration. Stay tuned and be blessed.
Let us Pray: Gracious Father I thank you for the breath of life you have given us and kept us alive. Thank you for giving us this time and opportunity to share your word. May you be glorified in and through our lives. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
TOPIC - FEED MY LAMBS
So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs (John 21:15).
Peter was a fisherman. After the first miraculous draught of fishes, the Lord had said, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men" (Matt. 4:19). Peter’s work on earth was made the symbol of his heavenly calling. After the second miraculous draught of fishes, in the days preceding the ascension, our Lord no longer calls Peter a fisherman, but a shepherd.
There is a deep meaning in the change. One great point of difference between the fisherman and the shepherd is, that while the former catches what he has neither reared nor fed, and only seeks what is full-grown, casting away all the little fish out of his net back into the sea, the shepherd directs his special attention to the young and the feeble; on his care for the lambs all his hope depends.
The type of the fisherman gave no place for the Master to give special charge concerning the children of His church. The shepherd’s calling at once suggested the words, Feed My lambs, and sets forth the deep importance and the blessed reward of giving a first place to the little ones of the flock.
Peter, and Christ’s ministers, were not only to feed the sheep – the prosperity of the church would specially depend upon their feeding the lambs. What was said to them is very specially applicable to parents as under-shepherds, who each have their little flock of lambs to keep and rear for the Master.
Christ’s commission to His church through Peter shows the place the little ones have in His heart, and teaches us to think of the weakness, the value, the need, and the hope of our children.
1. Dependent Lambs:
Feed My lambs, Jesus says, and reminds us of the feebleness of our children and their religious life. The Lord was just about to ascend the throne; one of His last words is, Care for the lambs. The sheep is a weak and helpless animal; how much more the little lamb! It cannot care for itself.
The Master would have every minister and every parent think much how utterly dependent the child is on the care of those to whom it is entrusted. It cannot choose the company under whose influence it comes. It knows not yet to choose between good and evil. It knows nothing of the importance of little words or deeds, of forming habits, of sowing good or bad seed, of yielding itself to the world or God.
All depends upon its surroundings: parents especially have the children in their power. What a solemn responsibility to lead and nourish them carefully, to feed them, not with the husks of this world’s thoughts and pleasures, but with food convenient, the milk for babes which our Father has provided, to lead them only in the green pastures!
2. Future Sheep:
Feed My lambs: The words remind us of the high value of the little ones. In the lambs the shepherd sees the possibilities of the future: as the lambs, so the coming flock. The church of the next generation, the servants with whom, in but a few years’ time, Jesus has to do His work of converting and saving and blessing men, are the children of today.
How little we have understood or heeded the voice, Feed the lambs. He says more, He says, "Feed My lambs," and also "of such is the kingdom" (Matt. 19:14). Not only for what they are to become, but for what they already are in their childlike simplicity and heavenliness, He loves them and counts them of great worth.
For the lesson they continually have to teach grown-up people, for all the influence they exert in making their parents and elders gentle and humble and trustful, for all the blessings they bring to those who receive them in the name of Jesus, they are to Him of unspeakable worth, the most beautiful part of His flock.
Let us try to catch His spirit as He cries, "Feed My lambs." Oh, let us learn to look upon our children in the light in which Jesus looks upon them! Let us pray for the Holy Spirit to make the familiar words, Jesus’ lambs, a deep spiritual reality to us, until our hearts tremble at the thought. Our little ones are His lambs: we are daily to feed them as such, that they may grow up as the sheep of His pasture.
3. Spiritual Nourishment:
Feed My lambs: the children’s great need is here set before us. Food is the condition of growth. Food is something received from without, to be assimilated and taken up into our very life. The body has its food from the visible world. The mind is nourished by the thoughts that enter it. The spirit feeds, through the mind, on the thoughts, the words of God.
The little ones cannot seek pasture for themselves; Christ looks to parents to bring to them day by day, not a chapter of the Bible just read over, and in most cases beyond their comprehension, but some of the thoughts of Divine wisdom and love, without which the soul cannot possibly grow.
Not less carefully than the mother studies daily how to let the child have something to eat, and what it is to eat, how she has to day by day feed each lamb entrusted to her care. The one desire and aim must be to rear it for Him. The consecration of the child to the Lord must be the chief thing in its life. The idea of its being His, and growing up entirely and alone for Him, the absorbing desire, this will make the duty easy.
4. Love for Jesus:
Feed My lambs: the words tell the provision Christ has made for His feeble ones. To whom were the words spoken? To one of whom the question had been asked, "Do you love Me?" and who had answered, "Yes, Lord, You know that I love You."
It is only one who is inspired by love to Jesus who can truly take charge of the lambs. This is the examination of fitness for the duty of parent and shepherd of the lambs, "Do you love Me?" This is the provision Jesus has made for the lambs: true love to Jesus can do the work.
Let every parent who longs to know how he can obtain the needed qualification for his work, give in his name for this examination. Let Jesus search your heart – once, twice, a third time – until the remembrance of past unfaithfulness brings tears, and the answer comes, Lord, You know all things, You know that I do love You.
Alas, it is this that is the blight of so many a Christian home – the conscious, fervent, and confessed love of Jesus is wanting. Nothing influences a childlike love: the warmth of a holy love to Jesus will make itself felt. There may be a great deal of religion, and of teaching, and of praying; it is only love that will conquer.
Love to Jesus will lead to obey Him very carefully, to walk with Him very closely, to trust Him very heartily. Love to Jesus will make the desire to please Him very strong, and the charge He gives us to keep very precious. Love to Jesus will make our testimony of Him very personal. The food with which we feed the lambs will have the warmth of a Divine love about it.
Jesus wants parents who love Him, who love Him with their whole heart and strength: this is the provision He has thought out for His little lambs.
The religion of Jesus is a religion of love. Of the Father it is said, "God is love" (1 John 4:8). Jesus Himself is the gift of a love that passes knowledge. His own life and work is one of love, love stronger than death.
When the Holy Spirit comes to us He sheds abroad in our hearts the love of God. Our whole relation to the Divine is to be one of love. And our relation as parents and children was meant to be one of love. It was to restore this that Jesus came.
And He does it by calling parents to love Himself, and then receiving the little ones in His name, for His sake, and in the fervor of His love, to take charge of them.
The love of earth He purifies and elevates by the love of heaven. And the home is consecrated by the light of Jesus’ love resting on the children, and the power of His love dwelling in the parents, and the whole of education being made a work of love for Him.
5 A Blessed Calling:
Christian parents, see and accept your blessed calling; you are the shepherds of the Divine love to tend and feed the lambs. In His church, the Chief Shepherd has many shepherds to care for the flock, but none who can so care for the lambs as the parents.
"He makes Him families like a flock" (Psa. 107:41); it is to parental love, inspired and sanctified by redeeming love, that Jesus looks for the building up of His church. Let us pray very earnestly to have, in the first place, our eyes opened to see things as Jesus sees them, to realize by the Holy Spirit what He feels for our little ones, what He expects of us and is ready to do for us in giving us wisdom and strength.
Feed My lambs: When this word is made the law of a parent’s duty, what gentleness and love will it inspire, what heavenly hope, what faithful, watchful care, and what an unceasing life of faith in the love and grace and blessing of Jesus on our home! Let us often wait for the voice to say to us, "Love Me? Feed My lambs."
Allow me to end here. God bless you all!

关于鲁士来历的一段历史(20230708)
Lersi History
The Lersi; The Ruesi, or ‘Pra Rasi’ – Also called in India, the “Rishi”
Lersi is a word used to call people who possess mind powers, who practice the development of mind and it’s powers in various aspects.
Even the Lord Buddha Himself received teachings from the Lersi. All the different Lersi Hermit Sages are to be documented and added to this section.
Sidhatta only left the schooling philosophy of the Ruesi, because it wasn’t going to lead him to Enlightenment, rather only to a higher level of the heavenly realms, a favorable rebirth that leaves one reborn as an Angel or an Archangel Buchiwagoemarapat was the healing Master Ruesi who served as doctor to the Buddha Sakyamuni.
The Ruesi are known to have attained various supernatural mind powers, such as;
The Ability to Float and See the Future, Heal with Forest Herbs, Voice Powers (Incantation and Prana), talk with animals, read minds, and even Teleportation, Manipulation of the Elements, Alchemy and other Miraculous forms of Mastery of the Environment.
Another translation for the word Ruesi, would be “Seer” -the author suggests also the word Wizard, as the Ruesi also made use of Magic Spells using a stick to cast with, just as does the Wizard who is to be found in Western Mythologies.
The word Ruesi is associated with the thought of a secretive, mysterious hermit-like person who lives a solitary existence and dwells in a cave, the forest or in the mountains. The real meaning of the word Ruesi, is “Seer”, meaning one with special abilities to see things that normal humans cannot perceive, such as vision of the three times (Past, Present & Future events).
Such an ability is called Trigalachan, meaning “he who knows the three time spheres. the oldest Sanskrit Myths and texts do not record how far back the existence of the Ruesi goes, but the Buddhist texts have a record known referring to the Buppaeniwaasaanusathiyan – of the Ruesi and that of the Buddha, and how they differ (Buppaeniwaasaanusathiyan means the ability to remember previous incarnations).
Lersi in The Vedas
There are four Vedas, the Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda. The Vedas are the primary texts of Hinduism. They also had a vast influence on Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism. Traditionally the text of the Vedas was coeval with the universe.
Scholars have determined that the Rig Veda, the oldest of the four Vedas, was composed about 1500 B.C., and codified about 600 B.C. It is unknown when it was finally committed to writing, but this probably was at some point after 300 B.C. The Vedas contain hymns, incantations, and rituals from ancient India. Along with the Book of the Dead, the Enuma Elish, the I Ching, and the Avesta, they are among the most ancient religious texts still in existence. Besides their spiritual value, they also give a unique view of everyday life in India four thousand years ago. The Vedas are also the most ancient extensive texts in an Indo-European language, and as such are invaluable in the study of comparative linguistics.
3500 to 5000 years ago, the Lersi composed texts, prayers, incantations and spells to invoke the Angelic beings. This was due to the fact that the Ruesi had practiced training their minds and raised their consciousness to the Samabhabhati level of Jhana. They could see things on higher planes that the normal human cannot, including being able to hear sounds from other dimensions that any normal person will never get to hear.
This made listening to the Angelic Beings accessible. when a Ruesi enters meditation and Samadhi, he will naturally experience visions and sounds that are created for him as a communication means by the Angelic Being that wishes to communicate with him. The words in the texts of the Rigveda, however, are not the words invented by the Ruesi; they are the words given to the Ruesi by the Gods or Angelic Beings, as the Ruesi were in the meditative state.
Maybe the most important and sacred of all the scriptures and incantations written down as they were heard by the Ruesi whilst listening to the higher dimensional realms, is the “Srut”, meaning “That which was heard from the Deities”. This great work differs from the legends written by the Ruesi after the Vedas. The difference being, that the later books (known as Samarueti, meaning “that which was written from memory”), were not written as words that have been directly heard from the mouth of the deities, rather, the words are taken from what the first generation of Ruesi had already documented. The later texts therefore, are not directly transmitted.
Other Types of Lersi Classifications
Apart from the aforementioned 4 types of Lersi, there are many other Special subdivisions of Lersi, depending on local belief systems. These are divided into seven types and a further three are added to make ten. These were created by Pra Bprachaabadii
Pra Koedom
Pra Paratawaach
Pra Wisawaamitr
Prachomtasanii
Pra Wasit
Pra Gasop (Gasabpa)
Pra Athri
Ruesi Pra Bprajaetas
Pra Parueku
Pra Narot
Pra Gasop – common folk tend to think that Pra Gasop Ruesi is a ghostly/phantom-like being, which is a wrong view of this classification of Ruesi. Pra Gasop eventually became incarnated in the Human world, and is considered to have been the first ever Ruesi to have appeared in the realm of Human Beings.
Thai local villagers call them “Phee” (ghosts). If they were really ghosts, then they would have a lower status like the Asuras (monsters/jealous gods). This Lersi Sage was first created by the Divinity Brahma in the same phase as he created the Asura beings.
