some absolute mad lad: spent two years making a skeleton with 8 heads and 108 legs and got locked out of parts of the bone market for 15 actual years for being too awesome
me: made exactly one (1) skeleton, everyone told me it sucked, took my bones and went home and never came back :(

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐮𝐬-𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐢𝐨 𝐚𝐱𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬
PLEASE READ:
long post - thank you for 2k! i apologize for the wait but this took me a longggg time to prepare.
it’s also important to note that planets in taurus/scorpio will effect how you resonate with the interpretations below
reminder that readings are open! i’m now selling persona chart readings of planets/angles as well
take with a grain of salt
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1st (scorpio) - 7th (taurus)❤️: relationships are a source of comfort and wisdom. scorpio risings’ experience of reality has to do with trust, hard truths, and taking back your power but their relations with others often bring a sense of peace and value into their lives. people may perceive you to be useful and smart in these similar qualities as well. your partnerships help to balance out the chaos and even insecurity you face at times with your identity and precense in the world
2nd (scorpio) - 8th (taurus) ❤️‍🔥: you are powerful in your resources/skills and in the way you support yourself overall. in this lifetime, how you find worth and appreciation for yourself and what you have (skills, physical resources, etc…). you may feel suppressed or face much controversy for what you value or for how you choose to support yourself monetary-wise or as a person. your biggest comeback story in life may have to do with self-esteem and with how you accumulate worth and value (physical or moral/mental) into your life and goals.
although there may be much turbulence and important realizations/truths that are found in how you support yourself and your goals, the transformations and scary things you face in life ironically enough can bring you lots of support if you choose to make good use out of it (which taurus is naturally good at). of course, this is the house of fears and traumas so a big part of your life story may include building your own sense of independence by learning from times of distress.
3rd (scorpio) - 9th (taurus) 💋: you could be especially sensitive to input from others and be able to pick up undertones and double meanings from others easily. communication, creativity (especially having to do with hands or written words), is your superpower. you grab others’ attention easily with your stories and artistic output when you learn to harness your fears/limitations effectively. this also makes you very intelligent of your community + gossip because scorpio rules over extremes as well
while in your everyday communication and daily life you may uncover and discuss skeleton’s in other people’s closet and may be doing a lot of activities that use a lot of your energy (scorpio is ruled by mars, planet of action), this makes you very comfortable (taurus) in being able to adapt to different environments and perspectives (9th house). having taurus in this house can make someone very wise because they find value and meaning in variety.
4th (scorpio) - 10th (taurus) 💄: people with scorpio in this house have usually had some sort of significant event or trauma regarding their family or childhood or may have regrets as to their actions in the past. these people could be born out of either extreme poverty or wealth too. these people’s sense of safety/privacy can be very important to them or they could feel like this aspect of their life is being compromised often (mars = conflict) but you could also find safety/comfort in curiousity or things that are “off-limits”.
if the private/emotional life of the native is exacerbated and transformative for them the career and reputation for the native is where they feel appreciated and most creative. having these signs in this house-axis can be indicative of a strong comeback story (extreme poverty to extreme wealth or even the other way around). the career-field can be very fulfilling (emotionally or monetary wise) and where you are grateful or feel lucky for the events your work presents.
5th (scorpio) - 11th (taurus) 🌹: feelings of creativity, romance, and happiness are taken to extreme lows and highs throughout life. if you’re a cancer rising, i believe this is where the “moody” reputation for us comes from. like leo rising, there could have been significant changes or revelations during childhood that changed your way of deriving happiness and familial support. these people may crave for luxury and overindulgence and can do so by turning their pain into power. scorpio in this house can make someone very grateful as well.
if our sense of happiness and luck undergoes significant change and gives us our “comebacks” throughout life, the 11th house is where we have already found peace and prosperity with our place in society. we encounter valuable experiences when polishing our individualism (5th) within our community (11th). we can find personal contentment and growth in accepting our individual, unique role amongst the people around us. you may like to surround yourself with confident people as well.
6th (scorpio) - 12th (taurus) 👠: these people can feel very unlucky or trapped throughout life, with the 6h ruling bad luck + burdens and scorpio relating to extremes. scorpio is a smart zodiac i’ve noticed as well, so these people usually have a certain way (especially that requires much energy) of doing their work and job that could defy others’ expectations. extreme focus on a certain obstacle or insecurities is also possible and can take awhile to finally figure out what makes you feel secure and satisfied with how you manage your burdens.
if your everyday burdens and responsibilities test your strength to the max in this lifetime, your imagination, creativity and solitude is where you find peace. it could also be that these people do unusual things to satisfy their need for pleasure and wholeness, because the 12th house is where we are easily misled. these people are internally comfortable with their thoughts and ideas, regardless of how odd they may be because it takes them to a place of stability from their scorpio 6h.
7th (scorpio) - 1st (taurus) 🍒: these natives’ partnerships/commitments make the native have to look more deeply into their underlying intentions or feelings with said partnerships/commitment. this can bring a lot of disturbing but also very eye-opening and insightful experiences that affects the native’s identity and ambitions going forth. scorpio can also be a curious sign so there can be a little bit of investigative or persistent approach to your partnerships and this is where your power can derive from.
it may seem like your partnerships “destroy” parts of your identity, because you approach the world from a sense of wholeness and peace. at least, these are circumstances that you are ambitious to achieve in your life. pleasure and steadiness are big life themes and at first it may seem like life is rather dull or boring, but similar to scorpio in its opposite function, taurus asks us to dig a little deeper into the simpler things in life and to find enjoyment.
8th (scorpio) - 2nd (taurus) 🍫: when dealing with other people’s problems (financially, intimate connection, debts, etc…) it brings about experiences that require you to fix what’s wrong or holding you back in life in rather uncomfortable ways. this can indicate someone who is afraid to acknowledge psychological blockages or who lacks the necessary bravery/instincts to attack underlying problems. you could earn valuable assets (tangible or not) from others when you engage with activities that are “gross” but healing/heroic.
this native survives on feeling complete. having a sense of wholeness is very important to these people and makes these people very resourceful because they are able to make the seemingly mundane valuable and able to work in their favor. these people are good at feeling in control of their life, future, and choices because they are committed and secure in their abilities. these people place much importance on authenticity, diversity, and self-sufficiency.
9th (scorpio) - 3rd (taurus) ❤️: when achieving mastery/global knowledge, and self-discovery it may have to do with bringing up topics that you ignored or swept under the rug especially having to do with your identity/precense (in context of the world and society). your global approach and experiences have to do with dealing uncomfortable topics in order to achieve better awareness and understanding of all aspects of the world. how you navigate foreign environments and your sense of flexibility is your strength.
if foreign experiences provide you with strength through perseverance, your intuition and familiar environments provide you with strength through growth (tangible or not). although it may seem like the everyday social rituals and ideas (including intuition), can appear mundane, this setup of houses gives an opportunity to grow a garden that provides roots, beauty, and good taste in the way you perceive and express yourself local environments.
10th (scorpio) - 4th (taurus) 🪭: these people have to have a ton of intiative when working in their career and towards their big goals in life. it may feel as though these people have to start from a bad hand of cards (compared to everybody else) in order to make it to the top or that their working conditions and/or responsibilities throughout life may feel difficult to complete or deals with high stakes/status. but even though there are difficult tasks they have to be done and you have drive/resourcefulness to do it!!
if the workplace is where you see the thorns in your garden (where you have to get rid of them) your home life and condition is where you see the roses. taurus is good at being able to attract good circumstances for themselves because taurus is very representative of wholeness and the feeling of completion. there’s probably more opportunities for you to setup and manage your domestic life the way you like. wisdom may be found through your domestic life too.
11th (scorpio) - 5th (taurus) 🧨: your surrounding communities/people who support you seem to try to pick you apart. you may feel as if the people who you’re around with don’t actually support you or that there’s something incomplete or “wrong” with the circumstances and people that made you successful, imposter syndrome possibly? your supporters/friends could show you things you couldn’t see before, likely for the better although they may reveal this in dramatic or difficult circumstances.
if you feel incomplete about the people/circumstances that support your public achievements, your creativity and lust for life is where you find contentment. these people feel most stable and appreciated for their talents and way of enjoying themselves. for these people, they find stability, growth, and satisfaction when they engage with activities that bring them happiness. they find beauty and appreciation from others for their self-expression/creatvity.
12th (scorpio) - 6th (taurus) ♠️: your drive to feel complete is what can you mislead you in life. this may be because you feel as if there’s always something missing or not being to shown to you but you are persistent in finding what that something is. this same energy can make the native very wise because they have to overcome their demons over and over again throughout life. but at the same time, you could also feel like your sense of resourcefulness and strength fails to manifest in reality.
if there’s conflict/determination in trying to protect yourself from things that induce bad energy, then there’s likely to be tranquility and acceptance in doing activities that can put your life back on track. the 6h is known as the house of bad fortune in astrology so these people are good at being able to find the most reliable way out of a difficult situation. and while these natives could be good at finding solutions, slacking off and overindulgence can lead to oversight with tasks.
once again thank you for 2k!

hope you enjoyed🥰

Pluto in the houses
Tumblr media
Disclaimer. This article touches on unpleasant topics for conversation. Please don't be sad when reading it. Thank you:)
Pluto is responsible in astrology for transformations, death, destruction, power, sex, crises. This planet is one of the most difficult to interpret the natal chart, because it shows skeletons in the closet.
Pluto in 1st house:
1.This is an indicator of mental endurance. Such people have experienced many terrible and difficult situations. For example, the death of loved ones, fire, drugs, alcoholism, depression, suicide attempts. Their life is filled with stages to which they try not to return. What's gone is gone.
2.I noticed that such people always have some unusual scar or birthmark, a mole on their face
3.Such people can really be a leader in a group or is in authority. The paradox is that they are most often not very talkative and energetic and don't like attention, but the people around them respect their opinion and often ask them for advice.
4.They love sarcasm and self-irony, as well as making fun of friends.
5.They have a high sense of empathy for people, so they feel lies or hypocrisy of the interlocutor well. This is a great placement for psychologists, tarologists or astrologers.
6.Most likely, such people have heard more than once that they have a heavy or tired look.
7.Pluto in the 1st house in the aspects with Mars, Mercury or the Sun can indicate manipulativeness, imperiousness and aggressiveness. Before doing this, please also analyse the other placements of the natal chart.
Pluto in the 2nd house:
1.An indicator of a great love for material things. Of course, everyone loves money, but not like people with Pluto in the 2nd house. Many of these people have deposits, are thinking about buying real estate or investing. Don't forget, Pluto is a planet of other people's money, so people with this placement are good in business and sales.
2.With tense aspects with other planets, this placement can mean greed, wastefulness, unwillingness to earn money on their own. Such people like to dream and do nothing.
3.Such people love antiques. I noticed that they can keep memorabilia, postcards and gifts from friends in a box for many years.
4.They always know how to save money. If you want to know where you can buy something at a discount, then ask them. Perhaps such people like second-hand shops.
5.I noticed that such people have faced fraud or theft.
6.Their thoughts often become material. I'm not talking about global dreams, for example, about buying a car. Such people may think about a new bag and get a bonus or an opportunity to earn extra money the next day.
7.Pluto loves change, so it's not surprising if people with this placement can move to another city to earn money. Such people could face difficult choices or risks to succeed.
Pluto in the 3rd house:
1.Good analytical skills. This is a good placement for people working in IT, engineering, economics and psychology.
2.With tense aspects with other planets, it may indicate poor memory, short temper and rebelliousness, problems with focusing attention.
3.My personal observation. This is an indicator that in childhood a person could be bullied, change schools, study martial arts. In general, such people are more likely than others to encounter toxic people.
4.This is a very good placement for speakers. Firstly, they know how to convey their message to the audience. Secondly, they have a pleasant voice (but you also need to look at other placements).Thirdly, such people don't like to be silent. For the same reason, I would advise them to keep a diary or write their thoughts and ideas in notes.
5.This is an indicator of an honest person. He will not lie out of courtesy or for selfish purposes. Ask him anything and you will hear his true thoughts.
6.This is a lover of heart-to-heart talk :)
7.Of course, you need to look at the other placements of the natal chart, but most often such people's brains work better in the afternoon or at night.
Pluto in the 4th house:
1.The 4th house in astrology represents family, childhood and mother. For an accurate interpretation, look at the sun and moon in your natal chart. This is an indicator of parents' divorce, constant moving, strained relations in the family. Such a person could receive insufficient love and attention from his parents. Often this is an indication of strict upbringing.
2.Good intuition. Perhaps someone on the maternal side had esoteric abilities.
3.He likes to do the interior of the house. The house for this person is the personification of his personality. The very type of people who start cleaning if they have a lot of stress or anxiety.
4.It is very important for this person to make friends with his inner child in order not to succumb to his desires. For example, you need to determine what is home and a sense of security for you, what is love and attention of loved ones for you, etc. Until you answer these questions, you will unknowingly create problems in your life.
5.This is a possible indicator of an inheritance or a precious family heirloom (but you also need to look at the 8th house in the natal chart)
6.If the other placements in the natal chart don't indicate a bad relationship with parents, then Pluto in the 4th house may indicate that a person had a strong mother. The child could admire her stress resistance, diligence, integrity. She is a complex, but very interesting person.
7.Such people have matured early. In childhood, they were wise children, with whom adults were surprised.
Pluto in the 5th house:
1.'Sorry,I'm anti-romantic".With tense aspects with other planets (especially Venus) this is an indicator of complete aversion to love. A person is afraid of relationships because of possible betrayal or low self-esteem (you need to look at the rest of the placements of the natal chart).
2.A great placement for actors. People like to watch their emotions and listen to them. Emotionality and a high level of empathy is expressed in artistry, which is noticeable even in ordinary conversation. It is not surprising that this placement is really found in many famous actors (Milla Jovovich, Robert Pattinson, Jon Voight, Lady Gaga)
3.Such a person can really select and create a new personality and image for a particular person, which causes problems in his personal life. For some, he is a cheerful extrovert, for others a homebody, for others an ambitious workaholic.
4.Most often, such people are jealous and demand passion and emotions in a relationship (but you need to look at Venus and the Moon in the natal chart)They want to literally get under their partner's skin and breathe the same air. Their love is constant, but very demanding.
5.Pluto is a planet of change, and the 5th house embodies creativity, so such people can be music lovers, often change their style of clothing and their appearance.
6.I notice that the language of love for such people is a physical touch.
7.A man who loves competitions. Firstly, they know how to win.Secondly, they have good endurance.Thirdly, they do not see obstacles. The only disadvantage is that a person can go against the rules and cheat. It's better not to argue with them.
Pluto in the 6th house:
1.Good immunity.A person rarely gets sick and he is physically hardy.(but you need to look at the rest of the placements)
2.The very kind of employee who wants to improve working conditions. He will not be silent if he is not allowed to go on vacation or on sick leave, not to agree to work overtime without additional pay. Responsible, but very demanding employee. Treats colleagues with respect, but tries not to start a friendship at work.
3.With tense aspects with other planets, this is an indicator of workaholism to your detriment. A person can harm his health due to lack of rest and sleep.
4.An indicator that a person may think too much about their health and body. Often Pluto in the 6th house is found in hypochondriacs, people with an eating disorder.
5.Often such people experience impostor syndrome, as they cannot fully accept their achievements.
6.This is a great placement for leadership positions.Such people know how to manage and motivate people. The only downside is that they can go too far and be too overbearing and demanding of their employees.
7.Their emotional state is stronger than that of other people, affects their health. The stomach and skin are especially vulnerable.
Pluto in the 7th house:
1.This placement is most often found in the natal charts of people who have experienced an unpleasant experience in love (divorce, toxic relationships, infidelity, death of a partner)
2.Many of them have a person who can unsuccessfully seek their hearts for several years.
3.With tense aspects with other planets, this is an indicator that a person can be sacrificial in a relationship. Sometimes I find this placement in the natal charts of people who have been subjected to domestic violence.
4.This is one of the indicators of late marriage.
5.The 7th house represents not only a partner, but also enemies. Such people could survive betrayal from the closest people, after which they began to experience trust problems.
6.A person who gives good relationship advice, but doesn't follow it himself.
7.Such people tend to fall under the influence of a partner. (but you also need to look at the other placements in the natal chart). It is important for them to learn to appreciate their hobbies, their character and their dreams, and not to change them because of a partner.
Pluto in the 8th house:
1.Fatalist. This man has been convinced more than once in his life that everything that is not being done is for the best.
2.An indicator of high libido (but you also need to look at Mars and the Sun). They are active and good at sex.
3.I noticed that these people always had a case when they almost died. Many of them had an accident.
4.They understood what karma is from birth. All the bad things always come back to them, as well as the best. Their enemies always get what they deserve.
5.Strong energy (somewhat similar to Pluto in the 1st house). During a conversation with them, you can be filled with energy for the rest of your life. They seem to be out of this world.
6.Possible mental problems. As well as psychological diseases (depression, ocd, adhd, etc.), and diseases of the central nervous system. Many of them suffer from insomnia, seizures or panic attacks (but for this you need to study the natal chart in detail)
7.Such a person is prone to hyperfixation on something. It is important for him to develop comprehensively so that his thoughts are not limited to one idea.
Pluto in the 9th house:
1.A person who likes to study other cultures.Perhaps he listens to a lot of foreign music, learns languages and watches travel shows.
2.There are two extremes here (you need to look at the natal chart).Or a person completely denies higher education and believes that it is not necessary in the modern world.Or on the contrary, he considers it the most important and seeks to get several.
3.A person who thinking on your feet. His mind is very active, but long-term memory can often be confused.
4.This is a person who is able to get information out of the ground.A good placement for detectives.
5.I often meet this placement in the natal charts of lawyers, police officers, people from social services. They try to change the world for the better because of a high sense of justice.Often there are philanthropists among them.
6.With tense aspects with other planets, such a person could be forced to move to another country or city because of poor living conditions.
7.A very inquisitive person. He's easy to learn on his own, so don't be surprised if he acquired most of his skills from the internet.
Pluto in the 10th house:
1.This placement is most often found in the natal charts of people whose profession literally saves someone's life (doctor, military, firefighter, etc.)
2.They are very purposeful and stubborn people. If they argue, they argue to the end. If they work, they definitely go for a promotion. The type of person who doesn't listen to someone's advice.
3.Such people tend to postpone some savings until old age.For example, to purchase additional real estate or find a source of passive income. In matters of finance, they think very big.
4.They respect reputable people, but they are not afraid of them. They don't care about your position, job and income, you will always be an ordinary person.
5.I noticed that these people are often stalked on social networks.People admire and envy them a little.
6.Their thinking is very practical.(but you need to look at the natal chart) Their logic gets the better of their emotions. They are not cold-blooded, but rather realists.
7.Such people are more likely than others to face rivalry at work or when applying to university.
Pluto in the 11th house:
1.Such people stopped communicating with people more often than others because of changes in their lives.
2.With tense aspects with other planets, such a person may fall under the influence of bad company or toxic friends.
3.This person believes in lifelong friendship and is looking for someone with whom he will be himself, but instead he is even more horrified with other people.
4.This placement is often found in the natal charts of volunteers, school/university activists. Such people like to work in a team and are often led by them.
5.Such people don't really like to express their opinions in a group (but you need to look at Mercury and the Sun). They would rather choose a compromise than defend their choice.
6.A good placement for influencers. Such people have more chances to gain popularity.
7.Also, with tense aspects with other planets, this is an indicator of a social phobe.A person does not trust and is afraid of people. He is comfortable in his loneliness because of trust issues.
Pluto in the 12th house:
1.A person who is used to asking for advice from others. It is easier for him to ask the opinion of several people, think about everything and only then make a decision.
2.This is a good placement for psychologists and psychiatrists. These people are interested in the human soul from a scientific point of view.Perhaps they are fond of philosophy and have read the works of famous psychiatrists and philosophers.
3.The people who keep secrets the best. And their own too:)
4.Such people need to periodically restore their energy while alone and turn off the phone. So don't be surprised if this person disappears for a week, he's just resting.
5.In such people, intuition works most strongly through dreams and signs. Pay attention to information from the outside.
6.Life seems to deliberately confront these people with their fears. Although these people do not seem at first glance brave and courageous, in fact they are very strong.
7.I noticed that such people prefer to work alone.

🖤Breaking baddie🖤: Describing your 'dark feminine' energy. How to channel it?
Hola malacitas 😘 (i hope that actually made sense lol).
First things first, what is "dark feminine" energy?
Yes, this is the **first website that comes up when you google "dark feminine," but it is pretty thorough and comprehensive! I liked it the most out of all the others. The others either repeated the same points or had too many outdated/black-or-white views. Feel free to do your own research however. There are plenty of videos on YouTube as well. **One caveat...when you get to the part about tapping into DF energy, I disagree with #8 (specifically).
(We're going to keep this post light and I'll dedicate a separate post to my personal viewpoints.)
So I will be telling you all about your personal DF "archetype." I will also provide guidance on how you channel your DF energy.
I am so so excited for this! Eek 🙊 Okay, options below, left to right. I hope it resonates!
Tumblr media
I am using a few different decks. I won't be adding pictures but I will provide what cards I drew.
Pile 1
Off the bat: I am hearing "no fuss" and also "ruthless," which is interesting considering the image you chose. I was also hearing the lyrics "all I do is win, win, win no matter what." So I'm getting some really bad ass energy right away! Come thru mob girlies!
4-Card Spread: 4 of Diamonds, 8 of Diamonds, 7 of Hearts, Joker. Bottom of deck is 6 of Clubs.
It's funny you have the 6 of Clubs (wands) on the bottom of the deck. I was hearing those lyrics about winning. This is a card that signifies victory and public recognition or celebration. I feel like the DF side of you is really bad ass! I'm also getting a pinch of "lover girl" energy. Its kind of like you have perfect formula sugar+sheist+everything nice! lol
Tumblr media
This energy isn't afraid to be in the spotlight but is also quite comfortable in the shadows. You may be (or this is what other people think) the type to use underhanded to get ahead. Its not personal but you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm also getting an energy of it is easy for people (I'm hearing "dudes" so maybe some of you talk like that) to get attached and feel led on. But I think you are married to the hustle.
Some of you may not regularly reside in this energy and could be put off by the description. But that is exactly why its dark feminine energy. It pokes and antagonizes the status quo, which is where most of us reside from day to day. Traditionally, feminines are not painted as cunning, street-wise, heartbreakers. Your DF energy pushes back against those constraints placed on feminines that require prioritizing the group over self. Not that anyone asked but I think that's actually kind of amazing.
Of course you don't have to reside in this energy and adopt some toxic alter ego, but there probably are some gems hidden here. People who move like this are usually made, not born. In some way, they learned that survival=competition, so you learn to "stay ready so you don't have to get ready." Your motto as a DF would be "every (wo)man for themselves," making betrayals feel less personal because...well it just isn't, as crazy as that sounds.
Advice: The Devil, Queen of Swords, King of Wands, The Star. Bottom of deck is 7 of Swords + Mute (Oracle)
I'm getting a strong message about speaking up. I am using Tarot de Carlotydes and in this deck the 7 of Swords is depicted as a sword swallower. Which I always interpret as "swallowing" the truth. Then as I was focusing on this group's image, I realized the cabinet behind her is full of skulls, reminding me of "skeletons in the closet." Then finally we have a literal Mute card:
The Mute is told what to hear, say and think and is often suppressed. Sometimes breaking the chains against heeded words may be rewarded.
So you currently may be the complete opposite of your DF energy. One of the keywords for the Mute is "insecurities." I feel like a lot of you are sleeping on yourselves. 🔊AND ITS TIME TO WAKE THE F UP!
Maybe you are trapped in your light feminine energy. I say trapped because it feels like you are forced into that box. Super passive, loss of control. Where your DF energy would insist on speaking up and standing out, you may just keep your head down and avoid any trouble.
I'm hearing specifically that some of you love writing poetry but may have someone who discourages you from pursuing this interest. You may want to present your poetry to an audience and they tell you that no one wants to hear what you have to say. For others, they are saying no one wants to hear from you about something else.
If you are used to toxic and restrictive connections or friendships, you are being called to step out of that. Get used to asserting your boundaries, "do not speak down about my hobbies," "if you cannot allow me to think for myself, then we can not continue our relationship." I think you definitely have it in you.
Another keyword listed is "hope." I think some of you may enjoy singleness and being single-mindedly focused on you and your goals, more fulfilling than you think. It can be healing to finally feel like the star of your show.
TL;DR: Your DF energy definitely has a bit of edge to her. She does what she has to do to move ahead and she prefers to fly solo. Even if that is not where you are right now, this energy already exists within you. Once you drop the dead weight--be it toxic family, toxic friends, or a toxic partner--you will see how quickly you flourish. You have every right to speak your truth and protect your peace. Its time to peel yourself off the wallpaper and start standing out and speaking up!
Pile 2
Off the bat: I wasn't getting anything with this group. I found that strange and wondered if I wasn't "tuned in." I think this represents your mental space when you are in your DF energy. You are clear minded and have a "sober" outlook. Maybe some of you are literally sober or are considering it.
4-Card Spread: 2 of Clubs, Queen of Spades, 8 of Spades (R), Ace of Hearts/7 of diamonds. Bottom of deck is 9 of diamonds.
I am very strongly getting that there is something noteworthy about your DF's decision making abilities. Maybe that sounds "boring," but its actually pretty admirable! The world often sends the message that feminine energy does not possess strong cognitive abilities. When feminines contradict this stereotype, they can be labeled as "cold," "mean," "masculine," or met with hostility.
I'm honestly getting that the DF in you does not care. You may naturally lean more to this side in every day life. Or this is where you could be if you tapped into your DF energy more often.
You make clear decisions and keep it moving. You do not allow your thoughts to keep you tangled up in a web of confusion and indecision. Some of you could be really good at chess. I am getting that kind of energy. Calculated, self-assured, and making decisions with no intentions of taking it back.
You are quite comfortable standing on your own, and pouring into your own little world. I get the image of a woman who lives on a quiet estate, walking through her garden, with birds chirping and flying above. Have any of you watched the movie Men (2022)? I loved the imagery in that film and that's kind of the vibe I am getting now. A lot of horse girlies may have picked this pile.
Tumblr media
I feel you being very unbothered, above drama. Your DF energy would love to find a masculine that can match your energy. You are good on your own so you won't allow anyone disruptive into your peaceful little domain. You do not make impulsive decisions in love and you are willing to wait for a new opportunity that is worth the investment. With the king of diamonds two cards under the 9 of diamonds, I do feel like this DF energy could pull the kind of masculine you desire.
Your DF energy really shines in STEM related jobs, corporate spaces, or any position that requires a sharp mind.
Advice: Ace of Swords, 10 of Swords, 4 of Wands, Knight of Cups. Bottom of deck is 10 of Wands + Spider (Oracle)
As soon as I pulled the ace of swords, I heard "get used to speaking your truth." I also heard stop entertaining "little boys." I don't think this is in terms of age, I think this referring to the maturity level of masculine energies you may usually deal with. I am in no way encouraging that you pursue anyone older. (Honestly, that does not guarantee emotional maturity or respect. But that's another convo).
I think this message is about the expectations you set for your partners. There is nothing wrong with expecting them to match you. They can either rise to the occasion or be left behind. If you hold this potential inside of you to be a queen of swords, queen of pentacles, and 9 of pentacles. Then I'm sure that energy exists out there in a suitable counterpart. The ten of wands is encouraging you to keep forging forward. I don't like preaching to be "strong" and "endure," but this is different. You are being strong for yourself. If you have to walk alone right now, it gets tough at times, but you are doing it with purpose. It will pay off.
For some this may literally require you to live alone. Its interesting that I keep getting messages about homes. I got a lot of diamonds/pentacles in the last spread, which also can deal with the home and related practical matters. "Home" is one of the keywords for Spider. The Moon is on the bottom of the deck, I think it is also relevant. This is what the guidebook has to say about each:
The Spider traps those who wander into her web. Keywords: Control, Home, Familiarity, Comfort, Trapped, Security. The Moon is not always as she seems. Her delicate glow seeks for hidden truths while blinding others to her own. Keywords: Confusion, Apprehension, Suspicion, Feelings.
You may need to be more discerning when it comes to who you let into your home and/or your heart. You might need to create a little confusion when it comes to what your next move is. Everyone does not deserve your energy or to be held on to.
Spiders can also be associated with anxiety. In regular tarot, I do consider the moon to be a card that can speak about mental health. So some of you may need to make these changes for your own sanity, literally.
TL;DR: Your DF energy is a very strong and self-sufficient queen of swords type. She thinks clearly, can make decisions without questioning herself, and always stands on business. She has high standards for those who come around her because she has built a beautiful life for herself and will vet anyone who wants to join. This self-respect and authenticity helps to attract a suitable mate. One who can match this go-getter, no bs energy. The key to channeling this energy is to start living in it now. Trust your decision making abilities, don't announce or seek validation before you make a necessary personal decision. Staying true to yourself and becoming more independent will pay off.
Pile 3
Off the bat: When I looked at the image for your pile, I immediately heard "I'm not one of those/your little girls." So whew! We are coming in hot! Also hearing "I wish a b---- would."
4-Card Spread: 7 of Hearts, Jack of Clubs, 2 of Clubs, Joker. Bottom of deck is 5 of Hearts.
I am getting more light-hearted energy in this pile than the previous two. Maybe a lot of young, or young-at-heart, people have chosen this pile. This DF energy could easily pull many suitors but she views lovers as more of a "fun time," not so much a "long time." You could also be a little toxic toward lovers. Makeup to breakup, or honestly sometimes its just breakup lol.
This energy is quite fiery and uninhibited. Some of you could be fire signs, specifically Sagittarius. Or I am getting that because of what Sag represents: free spiritedness, adventure, luck. No wonder this DF energy resists being tied down. The world is literally your oyster and you knows it!
This DF energy is also a little scrappy. Have any of you watched the Bad Girls Club? You know how there would be that one person who has a temper, then gets a little too messed up when they go clubbing and ends up wanting to fight everyone... When you see red, people need to clear your path! I do get a bit of a party girl energy which is not surprising considering I was picking up on Sag.
Tumblr media
This DF does not have a problem fulfilling her emotional needs. You will always make sure your cup is full. You will always make sure you are having a good time. You realizes that you have this amazing, fortunate energy and unapologetically harnesses it to get the most out of life. I think your DF self is also likely to be single and happy that way. Picking yourself up after disappointments in love is no problem because there are plenty more where they came from. You have an abundant mindset when it comes to love and life.
Advice: Queen of Wands, The Hanged Man, Ace of Swords, 5 of Cups. Bottom of deck is 5 of Swords + Ghost (Oracle)
In order to channel this DF energy, some of you may literally have to ghost someone. I am not surprised the energy of having to cut people off has been coming up. Sometimes the company we keep can really hinder our growth and self-expression. The hanged man is about surrender and next to the ace of swords, I sometimes see this combo as maintaining no contact. Ghost could also be taken literally.
But I think Ghost is also talking about a tendency toward self sabotaging and shrinking yourself. This is the total opposite of the DF energy that I just channeled. Its like the past and your insecurities have a tendency to haunt you and keep you stuck. You may also try to make yourself invisible. In the guidebook, the word forgotten repeats itself twice for this card:
The Ghost lingers, forlorn and forgotten. Keywords: Hidden, Mystery, Forgotten, Spiritual Matters, Fears, Faith
You will need to work on your self-confidence. When you are more confident in yourself, you will be more confident in your decision making abilities. You will be more authentic with the way you present yourself to the world because it won't matter whether people approve or disapprove. You know who you are. With the 5 of cups, there could be something that you are still grieving or regretting but you can bounce back from this! Channel your inner phoenix and allow yourself to blossom. Its time to reinvent yourself!
Be open to all the great things life has to offer you. Guided meditations for gratitude and self-confidence/self-love could be very beneficial. Trust that the flow of life is always leading you to something wonderful. Trust that you are allowed to call the shots in your reality. Do your part then trust and let go.
TL;DR: Your DF energy is very spicy! She is popular and free-spirited. She knows that life has so many different adventures to offer and she does not let anything stop her from exploring them. This DF is likely to be single or somewhat noncommittal. She does not mind flying solo and knows she can always find another mate. She is also quite lucky and manifests fortunate events with ease. To channel this energy you will need to drop any dead weight and increase your confidence in yourself and your decision making abilities. You could benefit from some form of self-help resources like books and guided meditations. And if it is accessible to you, therapy, support groups, or other resources that will help your create a stronger you.
Pile 4
Off the bat: I am getting a pretty serious energy. Some domme energy or you could just be a pretty dominant woman. This could be describing you or your DF energy. I keep hearing strawberries and champagne. Is that even a real thing? I've never met anyone who enjoyed that combo.
4-Card Spread: 4 of Clubs, Jack of Diamonds, Ace of Hearts, and Ace of Spades. Bottom of deck is Queen of Spades
I am still getting some of that super assertive and stern feminine energy. I could see your DF self working being a principal. I am also hearing headmaster/headmistress. I think she would love working with children but not in the traditional, mushy-gushy light feminine way. Its more of a "I have/enforce rules because I love you" type of energy . You believe in structure and order. If this isn't working with children, this could also apply to raising children. I could also see this DF running an orphanage. I did hear "rule the roost" while I was shuffling, so no matter how this resonates, you definitely are not afraid to lead.
You are generous and wise. Beneath the stern exterior is a lot of love and compassion. Your soft spots are not visible until you take a closer look at what you invest your time and energy into. This kind of energy could also attract less mature suitors, because it intimidates them yet they are so infatuated. You carry yourself with grace and probably won't entertain them. You are much more suited to be their mentor than anything.
Going back to the original domme energy I was getting. You may actually prefer partnerships that allow you to wear the pants. You don't really want a masculine energy coming in and dictating to you. You can run your own life just fine and would rather partner up with someone who can understand that. I don't think you want someone that is "weak" either, its more like you desire the cliche of the masculine that calls the shots in the board room but is more submissive/passive at home. They are secure enough to be with a feminine energy as strong as them.
Tumblr media
Some of you as DF would be comfortable living a "nontraditional" life. Nontraditional as far as feminine energy is concerned anyway. You may prefer live-in partners, or life partners, over traditional marriage. You could identify with being poly or something similar. You would love to travel and always seek to broaden your horizons. This is the type of person you would expect to have "summer homes." You could also decide to not have children or you would want to wait on having/adopting children. You love living authentically because of how freeing it is to just be you. You don't care what outsiders think of your life because you know you are doing what works best for you.
Tumblr media
Advice: 3 of Swords, 5 of Pentacles, 9 of Swords, Queen of Wands (R). Bottom of deck is The Devil + Soil (Oracle)
To channel this DF energy more, you will need to master the art of not giving a shit. Some of you could be currently suppressing this energy. I really don't think its that far out of reach for all of you. Its just your fear that is keeping you trapped.
For some of you this trapped feeling is because you are in the closet. I am not telling you to come out because I don't know how that would impact your life. I want you to stay safe! However, maybe you can seek out queer friendly spaces. Or spaces that are supportive of whatever group you identify with.
There could also be a heartbreak that has left you questioning yourself. In the Tarot de Carlotydes, the 9 of swords is depicted as a woman chained in a dark room, with a flower in her hand and broken heart drawn on a piece of paper. I always see this card as being tortured over a disappointment. In this particular deck, I see as a mental prison that you feel trapped in because you are clinging to and rehashing an event. Holding onto this event keeps the pain fresh or recurring. It is time to release it.
Do not internalize other people's actions and shortcomings. It is not a reflection of you. You are who you decide to be. Do not dim your shine for anyone. Do not stunt your growth either. I'm not sure what it is that is holding you back but you have the potential to be the brightest star! You can be strong, and confident, and assertive. There is this little ball of power inside of you, that can grow if you allow it. Soil echoes the same message I am seeing in tarot. You must let yourself bloom:
The soil is a conduit of both growth and decay. Eyes forward, rooted to the past and reaching to the skies, she'll grow. Keywords: Balance, Forward, Growth, Duty, Building.
Some of you may use less than healthy tactics to cope. Maybe you should think of yourself like a plant. What are you fertilizing your soil with? What are you using for watering? Put the best in, get the best out.
TL;DR: Your DF energy is a L-E-A-D-E-R, okay?! She calls the shots in every area of her life. Some suitors are attracted to her because their immaturity is infatuated with her self-assured, mature energy. However, she prefers an equally strong partner at her side but this does not mean she wants to be led. No, she wants someone that respects her as an equal but allows her to take the lead. She lives life on her terms, loves on her terms, and does not care what anyone else thinks of that. She does have a soft spot but that is not for everyone. This nurturing energy could be channeled into working with children in some capacity. In order to step into this energy, you will have to untether yourself from insecurity and heartbreak. You already have this power inside of you, its only a matter of letting it grow. You don't have to deny what you have been through or the way it impacts you, but it also does not have to hold you back. Replace your unhealthy coping mechanisms with healthy ones.
As previously stated, I have a planned post that will expand on my views about feminine energy and other spiritual topics. I am really looking forward to sharing my thoughts and hope you all will chime in! I would love to start a discussion.
Until then ❤

Note
milk crew reaction receiven nudes from reader
[suggestive]
Strawberry: Oh wow- Give a guy a little head's up next time. The most innocent about it and just says you look amazing and leaves it there - until he realizes you may want something in return.
Vanilla: Unexpected, but she's not one to complain nor waste opportunity. If she's in a position to, she'll send you a photo back with compliments straight out of romance novel (possibly one she had on hand)
Milk Tea: About time, but secondly how dare you not be around to take care of what you've caused. Demands you drop whatever you're doing and come over - if he's not speeding to your location instead
Ginger: Is in her shop twenty four seven and probably injures herself getting to her phone. Sends you a picture of her bandaged hand and two simple words "Send more."
Rootbeer: Eyes bulging out of his head, heart stopping. Cowboy will sprint to the nearest drugstore to find a pair of glasses that'll work for the time to see you in all your glory. At the end of it, he just sends a picture of his empty bed and "your place, or mine?"
Cherry: "I was in need of some motivation for practice. If only I could have the real thing though" You hear her skates at your door not even a minute later
Spice: "Dear, please. You are gorgeous as always, but I am working." Acts civilized, but the second the bar is clear he's rushing to the back to rub one out and go into heavy detail about what thoughts your photos conjured throughout the day.
Oat: "That's nice, love." Leaves it there or she would go into how lovely you'd look tied up.
Chocolate: "On my way. Move or put any clothes on and we'll have a problem."
Banana: Leaves you on read. This isn't malicious by any means, Banana is just easily flustered and has never seen anyone naked before. Compliments the wall behind you and hates herself for it later.
Peach: Responds with pictures of her in some lingerie she had conveniently lying around. The second you get that "Omw" text is when she's right outside your window.
Cotton Candy: Uses your nudes for reference in their art or starts commenting on what paints would go well on you since it's pretty hard to paint with one hand.
Eggnog: Very conflicted. High chance they're living in your attic during this and they don't know what to do. Should they go down? No - you would've said so in your message. Do you want to see them? No - they aren't pretty like you. Eventually works up to courage to send you a picture of them shirtless just to see where things go
Screamsicle: Sends you a picture of one of their skeletons dressed in one of the sexy costumes they've made along with a cheesy pick up line. This is to distract they're afraid of what you'll say if they send you pictures of themself as they are a bit self conscious about being one of the smallest height and muscle wise hybrids... and you're the hottest person they've ever seen
Mint: Sends a few emojis and a picture of themselves naked plain and simple. Some stuff about you sitting on their face later in conversation too
Apple: Please don't make the doctor horny at work. Their thoughts are on you enough already. If you send nudes during work they'll have no choice but to close shop early because they're too caught up on your photos. After hours are free game and they will be at your door momentarily
Licorice: Calls you so you can hear what your little offering is doing for him. That's what you wanted, right? Depending on the day, those sounds might even come from inside your closet.

“Better,” Ghost said from somewhere at your side, his attention divided by watching you practice your throwing knife skills and cleaning his rifle, “But stop flicking your wrist, it’s unnecessary.”
Since you arrived here Ghost had dedicated a surprising amount of time to teaching you how to throw a knife. Your aim was still off and you had the occasional miss, but you were improving. He’s had you standing in front of the piece of wood for the last hour throwing the knives he’s so graciously let you borrow, picking them up and doing it all over again. He was a good teacher, but a tough one. Not even you could be spared from his hazing lectures of form and technique. And on more than one occasion you stomped off on him in frustration, only to sheepishly return after some time to restart after cooling off.
You glanced over your shoulder at him, your expression bored, “Are you even watching?”
“Yes. Now, throw,” he instructed, dark eyes flicking up to you, and when he saw that you were still looking at him he twirled his finger in a “turn” gesture.
With a sigh, you turn back around and aim at the center of the target painted into a wooden board. You lined yourself up, your tongue instinctively sticking out, a habit you had since you were a child when in focus, and threw the blade. The handle banged off the board and clanged to the ground.
“I just told you to stop flicking your wrist,” he commented as he slid ammo into one of his magazines.
You spun on him, annoyance twinging your tone “You come over here and throw one.”
He placed the magazine on the table beside him and strode towards you with a confidence you envied, plucked the blade right out of your hand and threw it. It embedded itself deep into the wood. Right in the middle. He held his hand out for another. Again, it landed in the middle with a satisfying thud. Impressively close to the first. He threw two more and only one of them wasn’t a bullseye instead it landed in the next ring.
You clicked your tongue, “Alright,” you pushed him back towards his guns and ammo, “Go away.”
For the last two days, it’s done nothing but storm, and everyone has taken shelter in the warehouse where there was still a working heater. But now that the nightly meeting and dinner had been served, everyone was headed back for the bunks for the night. The emotions have been running high the last few days and the weather was making it even harder to get things done. Soap was trying his best to keep up morale, but even he grew weary of waiting. Price and Gaz had gone on recon today to check out the town and came back with the news that the military was pulling out. Laswell was less than thrilled to have the entire team invading her space while she tried to work.
She, out of all of you, felt the pressure the most.
Tonight it was your turn to take the night watch, and Ghost stayed behind until midnight to keep you company. He even went on the few patrols he was with you for, “You never talk about your family,” Ghost clutched at his rifle as he strolled beside you, purposefully shortening his stride so you could keep up.
“Well, I could say the same about you,” you knock your shoulder into him, trying to come off as playful but in truth the last thing you wanted to do was unpack the fuckery that was your family.
“That’s because I’ve got skeletons in my closet,” he shrugged, seemingly nonchalant about it. You’ve become accustomed to his casual attitude; where normal people would become skittish with that type of admission, he wasn’t.
You hummed, inching closer to him. Even in the rain his body heat radiating from him.
“Well,” you started, chewing on the inside of your cheek as unease rippled through your gut, “My parents divorced when I was sixteen. My mother is the kindest woman I’ve ever met. She used to take me to the theatres every Sunday for the matinee.”
“And your father?” He asked carefully, sensing your hesitation on the matter. His attention was on you but he made it less intense by looking off into the darkened shadows of the trees beyond the fences.
“He’s…” your throat narrowed at the memory of him, of his hardened face and emotionless eyes, “He’s the worst man I’ve ever met. And I was his favourite,” you wrung your fingers, the tips of them going numb from the cold air, “He’s estranged now and I haven’t heard from since the divorce.” A lie. You knew exactly where and what he was doing. You also knew he kept a close eye on you and yours. “My mom has since remarried. To a guy she went to high school with, it’s quite adorable,”
“Any siblings?” He asked as he opened the door to the warehouse for you. He didn’t push for more information, understanding that were some things better left unsaid.
“Two,” your heart skipped a beat, “Both significantly older. But one of them died when I was in high school. A car accident,” you didn’t give any more detail than that. Didn’t think you could handle dredging up old wounds.
You silently thanked Simon for not giving you a half-hearted “I’m sorry” at the mention of your dead brother.
You told him about your childhood friends, and about the sports you played. You told him about how your brothers used to have epic fights in the backyard, and how one of them had ended with your father making them run laps at the track until one of them collapsed and the other threw up all over the grass.
Ghost quietly listened, adding little comments here and there. He just liked hearing you talk and would sit here for hours completely content with doing just that.
As soon as the clock struck twelve a yawn interrupted him mid-sentence and you sent him off to bed.
“I’ll be fine. I’ll keep out of trouble. But you were up last night for your watch, you need to sleep,” you shooed him out the door. Before stepping out the door he turned to you, bending down to catch your lips with his. It was a quick, innocent gesture, and the boyish grin of his that accompanied it was even more so.
The rest of the night was fairly tame, but your raincoat never seemed to dry and you were forever cold. Gaz had pulled out a space heater at some point but even that couldn’t seem to thaw your frozen bones and muscles. What you really wanted was a hot shower. Or even better, a bath. You’d grown weary of the cold showers.
The silence and isolation of the night watch were welcomed. It gave you time to think and to work through your ever-flowing thoughts and emotions. You were beginning to wonder what comes after this. If you were labelled as deserters, would they just “let” you get back to your normal job once you exposed Spector? There were so many questions and you were too afraid to find out what the answers would be. Would anyone even believe you guys?
You spent the rest of the night trying to distract yourself before you found yourself spiralling. You reorganized the makeshift kitchen area, sewed a rip in your jacket pocket, and read the first few chapters of a particularly boring book Gaz had brought with him. You had quickly become thankful for the hourly strolls outside.
“What are you doing up?” You asked, setting your rifle down, having done a patrol. It was a little past 4 am when you returned to find Soap lounging on one of the chairs at the makeshift table.
His cheery blue eyes found yours, “Thought I’d come and keep you company.”
“Couldn’t sleep?” you took a seat across from him, fiddling with a propane lamp before lighting it.
He yawned and stretched out his arms above him, “Have you been able to?”
You shook your head. Truth is, you haven’t had a good sleep since you got blown up. You grabbed a deck of cards someone had left on the table for everyone to use, “You shuffle,” you said, handing it to him. With practiced hands, he shuffled and dealt out a hand of canasta.
He won the first round, and he sighed, “One more game, I’m starting to feel bad for you.”
“Laswell find anything?” you asked. Laswell had left to meet up with one of her contacts and wasn’t going to be coming back until tomorrow.
“Not really,” he scratched at the growing beard on his face, and exchanged a card from his hand, “She’s stressing. So is Price.”
“I don’t blame them,” you murmured. If you were going to ask anyone and not fear that they’d think you a doormat, you were going to ask Soap, “Are we still going to have our jobs once we figure all this out?”
He blinked at you, “Our job?” then his expression softened in realization. You’d been uncharacteristically recluse these last few days and everyone had noticed it. And Soap was just relieved to have finally understood why that was, “When we find that bastard Spectator and pull his pants down in front of the brasses we’ll be handed medals.” He leaned back in his chair and it creaked against his weight, “There are, of course, probably going to be some legal measures that will need to be addressed, but when are there not? A few years back we were being hunted down by every allied force for ‘espionage’.” He rolled his eyes at the ridiculousness of the idea. “We’ve got our hands tied behind our backs a few times, and yet they haven’t gotten rid of us.”
The looming misery that had been breathing down your neck for the last few weeks backed off at his answer.
“That makes this a little less stressful,” You wished there was more you could do, but none of this was your specialty. “You want tea?” the chill you developed from your patrols was becoming unbearable. You got up to heat up water in a pot on the propane stove before he could answer.
“Absolutely,” he replied.
You turned back towards him just in time to catch him trying to peek at your cards, “Are you joking?” you threw up your hands in disbelief. You’ve played a lot of cards with Soap in the last two weeks, and never once did you win against him. Now you know why. You tossed a tea bag at him.
He slid back into his seat with a sheepish grin.
“I’m not making you tea anymore,” you glowered over at him, “You can make your own.”
You cracked open the door to take a peek outside. The rain had slowed to a drizzle, the ground sodden with water. It smelt like fresh earth. An hour later Ghost joined the two of you, claiming that Price was snoring so loud that he woke up thinking someone was attacking him with a chainsaw. Soap asked if he cared for a game of cards to which he curtly replied with a very stern, very definitive “No, you little crook.”
After a brief discussion, you and Ghost decided it would be as good a time as ever to check in on the town. He wanted to scope it out to see if the military had pulled out yet. You wanted to check in on the school.
The drive into the town was silent, the pit of your stomach was turned inside out. Your intuition screamed at you that something was wrong.
Thick fog clung to the trees and made the drive more unsettling.
A strange pungent smell invaded the cab of the truck a few miles back from the town. It smelt like smoke and something else you couldn’t place a finger on. The smell got stronger and stronger the closer you got, to the point where you shoved your nose into the collar of your shirt.
“Ugh,” your eyes began to water, “What is that?”
A large dark form lay on the side of the road as you turned a corner and Ghost slowed the vehicle, his hand dropping to the pistol at his thigh.
So he feels the unease too.
That thought alone was alarming.
As you rolled forward confusion clouded your thoughts. The corpse of a horse was left in the ditch. Its brown coat stained darker in some spots—with dried blood. From the looks of it, this happened days ago.
“They killed off all their livestock,” Ghost grumbled, his attention fixed on something ahead of us. You followed his gaze. The herd of cows he passed every day we drove into town was left to rot in one of the fields surrounding the town. Their bodies are already half-decomposed. In their state, it was obvious this occurred days ago.
“Isn’t this a war crime?”
He nodded, features hardening.
You wondered why no one had tried to dispose of them.
In fact, as you neared, there wasn’t anyone around. No passing cars or people walking their dogs.
As the town came into view, and the fog fell away from the buildings to could better make out the shapes hanging from the sign. You squinted, leaning forward. Your blood ran cold, “Riley–”
“I see it,” he grunted.
Three bodies hung from the town's welcome sign. The faces were mottle shades of blue and grey. Hands tied behind their back and feet bound together. Two men and one woman. They had died long after the cattle. Their clothes and hair remained dry, despite the last few days of rainfall.
Ghost nodded his head towards the woman, “That’s my informant's wife.”
If you hadn’t known him as well as you did you would have thought him indifferent to the sight but guilt lined the edges of his words.
You looked back to the women and your stomach rolled. Her neck bent at an unnatural angle, “Did–” you shook your head in disbelief, “Why would they do this?” It was hard to believe that the same army you fought for could do something like this. Something so animal.
Beside you, he didn’t answer. His eyes scanned the empty streets, finding nothing and no one.
“Take me to the school,” you breathed, worry piling up inside you.
He opened his mouth to say something, probably to argue but thought better of it.
He rolled to a stop just outside the school, his brows furrowing, “Are you sure you’ll be fine?”
You nodded, but you couldn’t find it within you to smile at him.
“You just need to click twice on your radio and I’ll be right back,” he was going to go check in on his informant. If his wife was dead, the probability that he was too was high.
He waited for you to enter the building before he pulled out and went on his way.
The school was desolate, no single child milled about. No teachers lined the halls. It was a school day, you were sure about that, yet no one was around.
You followed the now-familiar path to the classroom at the back of the school. Peaking into empty classrooms on the way there.
Your hands shook as you reached the door to the classroom, and eerie silence on the other side. You knocked but the door wasn’t shut properly and creaked open. The lights were off, and no voice answered from within as the sound of your approach. You swallowed the lump in your throat before pushing the door completely open.
The room was empty. Yesterday's date is still etched in chalk on the chalkboard.
Along with the angry rushed words, “Your sympathizers will be killed.”
You didn’t need to ask to know those words were meant for you. You looked around the room once more, searching for any sign of life. But the room was nearly spotless, there was no blood, no sign of a struggle. Textbooks and pencils still lay on the desks of the students, ready for their next lesson.
You picked up one of the books, examining it.
Something outside caught your attention, a flash of a silhouette as it rushed across the courtyard.
You peered out the window and into the courtyard in hopes of seeing who was out there.
The breath wooshed out of your lungs, and the textbook in your hand slipped from your grip. You didn’t even hear it fall.
Outside, hand-tied above their head to a wooden post was what was left of a female body. There wasn’t much left of her but the chard-blackened flesh. Gone was her scent of rosemary and pepper. Gone was her soft voice and youthful face.
A hand flew up to cover your mouth as bile rose up your throat.
The door behind you creaked open and you spun, hand going for your gun.
A small familiar figure appeared, her usually emotionless face tear-stained. When she caught sight of you her face contorted into one of distrust and hate.
It was the girl you had been helping heal the wound on her arm.
Then she was rushing at you, her slim fist slamming into your armoured chest, her voice cracking as she yelled up at you. She kicked her feet out at your shins and ankles. You couldn’t understand her but her face revealed what she was saying. There didn’t need to be a language barrier to know what she was calling you. What she was saying.
“This is your fault. You killed her. You’re a monster. A killer.”
There was no doubt that her screams would draw attention if anyone was still here. You covered her mouth, hushing her. She trashed against you, nails digging into the exposed skin on your wrists. Her feet stomped on yours.
Voices echoed down the hall and the both of you froze. Wide eyes connecting in dread. She stopped breathing entirely. You lifted a finger to your lips, prying she’d remain silent. Slowly and as quietly as you could you brought her to the windows, opened one of them and signalled for her to slide out. Her brows furrowed with skepticism but she obeyed.
I was the lesser of two evils in her eyes.
“Run,” you whispered to her, palming a throwing knife into her hand and she climbed out the window.
She didn’t turn back to look at you as she sprinted to the other side of the building. You watched as she hesitated before running past the brutalized body of her teacher. You watched her dip out of one of the many doors.
You tore yourself from the window and the scene beyond it, wishing you could at least cut her down from the post.
But there was someone else here.
You crept back out into the hallway, following the same route to the main foyer, trying to avoid the direction the voices came from.
Wrong.
At the end of the hallway were two men, their attire and the patches on the side of their arms making it obvious that weren’t here to be friendly. You considered ducking back behind the corner but they had already seen you. Their concealed faces snap towards you.
Your hand reached for this radio at your shoulder and clicked it twice.
“What are you doing here?” one of them called out, his head tilted to the side trying to get a better look at you. There was no way in hell you were going to get away with pretending to be a local. You were decked out in a bulletproof vest. Instinctively, your hand dipped for the pistol at your thigh but stopped short. They weren’t the enemy, they were here following orders.
You cleared your throat, “I was told to meet the lieutenant here,” you could only hope they didn’t ask for a name.
They shared a look, the postures stiffening, before turning back to you, “Lieutenant, Smithers left yesterday morning.”
Welp.
You pulled one of the knives Ghost had given you earlier this morning from its sheath, “I don’t want to have to hurt you,” you swore.
But it was too late, and this was going to be a short-lived fight. You were outnumbered and outmuscled. You could only hope you would be able to hold them off until Ghost got here.
The first one moved quickly, and you flung the blade in his direction. You were aiming for his throat but missed. It landed in his shoulder, which worked well in slowing him down but wasn’t going to put him out of this fight. The second one closed in on you, throwing a dangerous left hook that for sure would have knocked you out cold if you hadn’t sidestepped him, now behind him you kicked out at the back of his leg. His momentary loss of balance was enough for you to drive your knee up into his face. Bone cracked, and his nose immediately started spewing blood everywhere.
The first guy was still recovering from your knife, but he was still more than capable of doing major harm once he regained his composure.
Your fingers found the warm metal of the soldier dog tag and wrapped your fist around it, tugging at it until his gargled protest echoed. You grabbed for the second knife equipped at your chest.
An arm wrapped around your waist and you were being hauled up into the air and slammed into the wall behind you, knocking the wind out of you. You brought your elbow down in the soft spot between his shoulder and neck. Once. Twice. He let you go, driving his fist into your jaw. Your head snapped to the side and stars blossomed in the corners of your vision.
You grappled at your assailant for purchase, but you were already being yanked into the other soldier's arms, your hand twisted painfully behind you.
“Bitch,” he missed in your ear.
Your vision was swimming but your eyes landed on the blade still jutting out of the first guy's shoulder. You leaned your weight back, lifting your feet to kick the blade in again. The man stumbled back, screaming. You dropped your weight as fast and hard as you can, bringing the last guy down with you.
He was faster than you. Climbing on top of you, pressing into your back with a knee. His finger gripped at your scalp, bringing your head up only to smash it back into the ground. Again and again.
There was a bang that cracked through the air. And you waited for the searing pain that usually accompanied a bullet.
The heavy weight above you began to suffocate you, and you struggled for breath. A whimper escaped you.
There was the sound of a struggle somewhere above you but you couldn’t find the strength to so much as look up.
The weight was lifted off of you, and you came face to face with the unseeing, dead eyes of the soldier who was just bashing your face into the floor. Then you were being flipped and your eyes met familiar brown ones.
Alarm flashed across his face, “Shit. Can you walk?”, his arm slipped under and around you.
“Yes, I think,” You blinked up at him, your vision blurring. You wiped at your eyes, “I can’t see.”
“You’ve got blood everywhere,” Ghost hissed, shifting your weight onto him. The floor beneath your feet was slick and you fought to keep them under you. He nearly carried you to the truck before shoving you into the passenger seat. He was driving off before you could register where you were.
“Was it just them?” He asked, trying to keep his eyes on the road but they kept snapping over to you.
Your arms felt heavy and you slumped in your seat, “I didn’t see anyone else.”
He drove fast back down the road and out of the town. If there were two soldiers still here there was bound to be more. And he wasn’t going to stick around to find out.
He reached into the back to find something, anything for you to wipe the blood from your face. You weren’t sure which of it was yours and which of it was the now dead soldiers.
He found a plain white cotton shirt from his pack.
“You’ll never get the blood stains out,” you half joked as you wiped at your face.
“I’m not too attached,” he ground out but you could tell he wasn’t in the mood for jests right now.
“Did you find your informant?” you strained as you wound a particular sore spot above your brow. A break in the skin that would surely scar.
“He was dead.”
Nausea gripped your stomach and you weren’t sure if it was the signs of a concussion or because of the aftermath of what you’d seen at the school. Most likely both, “Riley,” you struggled, fingers finding the door handle, “Pull over.”
“What?”
Saliva flooded your mouth, “Pull over.”
He turned into the ditch, tossing you a concerned glance before he moved to open his door.
“Stay in the truck,” you ordered, before slipping out your door.
You were retching before your feet found the earth. You retched until you couldn’t anymore. Until your stomach was empty and your legs were useless.
He didn’t say a word when you stepped back into the truck, but his knuckles turned white in the steering wheel.
He handed you the bottled water from the cup holder and you rinsed your mouth out before speaking again, “We can’t involve any more civilians,” even to your ears you sounded defeated, “They will hunt them down. They did. They…called her a sympathizer,” you swallowed, your mouth suddenly dry. You told him of the school, and the message written on the chalkboard. You told him about the little girl and the teacher had to leave in the courtyard. “Did you informant know anything about the rest of us? Did he know I was at the school while you were with him?”
He stiffened, “No and yes. He wasn’t aware that anyone other than us two were on the run,”
We drove for another few hours before he turned off the road once more.
He was jumping out of the truck and reaching into the back seats before coming around to your side. His head was on a swivel, as he walked, looking for any signs that we had a tail. He opened your door, “We can’t go back to camp just yet,” he handed you your pack and placed his at his feet.
You had noticed that he was going in the complete opposite direction of the base a while back. Those soldiers knew we had been to that village, and they had been waiting for us to turn back up. There was still a chance they were following us, hoping we’d bring them back to everyone else.
“Agreed,”
“Dress in your civi’s,” he took out a fresh pair of jeans and a plain grey sweater, “The closest safe house isn’t as secure as the last,” He looked over your face and removed his vest, “I can stop on the way there and get you some ice for your face.”
Then he was shirtless, then he was nearly naked.
And too soon he was dressed again. His sweater pulled tights across his chest and shoulders. He looked even better in regular clothes than he did in his uniform. He moved to help you with your vest, the velcro a harsh sound in the silence. He helped you wiggle out of your shirt. You were sticky, cold, wet and with blood. He handed you a hoodie and waited for you to put it on before closing the door.

Like A Movie Part IX
Summary: Reader deals with big feelings and the movie is wrapped
Word Count: 5.4K
A/N: This feels like the natural end to this one, but I will probably write little one shot extensions on it in the future. All good things must end! There are several time jumps in this chapter, hopefully they make sense. If anything seems convoluted please tell me so I can fix it! Send me asks, message me, I love interacting with you guys.
Part I Part II Part III Part IV Part V Part VI Part VII Part VIII
Tumblr media
To say you didn’t get jealous may have been a slight overstatement on your part. You didn’t generally get jealous in everyday situations. You were a fairly secure person, and Jenna gave you no reason to question your place in her life. In fact, she was overwhelmingly affectionate and reminded you of her feelings often. It was a “sweet little relationship” so to say.
But as the dreaded day of filming drew ever nearer, you began to feel the claws of the green-eyed monster in your gut. You had written five wives for Judas. FIVE. You cursed yourself daily for being such a smut artist. Obviously, you had never intended to be dating the person who would play Judas, but the universe has a funny way of enacting its karma on people. When you wrote the part, you wanted Judas to be a believable cult leader. And those fools always had a plethora of sexual encounters. So five wives it was. It may have even been a conservative take.
Luckily for you, A24 had decided she should only have a sex scene with one wife on screen, the rest would be implied. But that one sex scene was inevitably going to happen, and it was going to happen with your friend. You weren’t sure which would be worse, watching Olivia do it or a complete stranger. You tell yourself it’s fake because it is, but that doesn’t help much. You still feel the sickening vice of greediness in your belly, an unwillingness to share.
You don’t share these feelings with Jenna. You’re nervous it’ll rattle the skeletons in her closet and send her running for the hills. Your pride doesn’t allow you to tell Olivia, because that would mean admitting to the silly whims of your irrational feelings. It’s for the same reasons you refrain from telling your other friends, leaving you alone to dwell on how stupid your lizard brain is.
You’re not at your best when left alone with your thoughts, often spiraling into a vicious cycle of what-ifs. Dealing with the jealousy was the beginning; questioning whether your relationship with Jenna was only built on the excitement of making Secessus was the end result.
You’re sitting on your couch the morning of filming “The Dreaded Scene”, fighting yourself in a battle you can’t win. Jealousy has curdled in your stomach and turned into doubt. You drop your head into your hands, trying to talk yourself out of the mood you had put yourself in. But all you can think is what if? What if after filming wraps, Jenna realizes you’re terribly boring? What if the movie is a flop? What if the excitement dies down and you can’t sell another script? What if? What if? What if?
Your phone vibrates on the table, and you drag your hands down your face. It’s Jenna, she’d been texting you for over an hour, and you have yet to reply to her. You’re not upset with her at all, you’re scared that if she talks to you, she will know what you’re feeling. Over the months of knowing her, and the months of filming, she had learned you like the back of her hand. Sometimes she knew you better than you knew yourself. That fact brought you some comfort because if she knew you so well and still liked you, then she would like you after the movie was done. But that voice was much quieter than the one that said she would grow bored of you.
You sigh and pick up the phone, unwilling to force her to wait on you any longer. You are a grown ass adult, and you will handle this appropriately! Probably…Most Likely. You shoot her a text telling her you’re on your way to set, and you’ll see her in an hour. You flop back onto your couch, preparing your mind for the rollercoaster of emotions you’d go through that day.
Just as you’re about to get up, there’s a soft knock on your door. You recheck your phone, no messages. You’re beginning to get deja vu, reminded of the day you met Jenna. What a weird and wonderful day that was. You became so lost in thought at the cherished memory you nearly forgot someone was at your door.
You pull yourself off the couch as the person knocks again, yelling, “Yeah I’m comin, I’m comin!”
You open your door, half hoping it would be Jenna in a floppy boonie cap and pitvipers again. But it’s a kid trying to spread the gospel in a white button up and black tie. You look him up and down, then turn back to grab your sunglasses and car keys.
“Not today kid. I’m just leaving.” You tell him, stepping over the threshold and forcing him to retreat from your welcome mat.
“Ma’am, I just wanted to come to tell you-“
“Hey listen, I respect you man. You’re doing something you think is right. But I’m not interested in learning about your lord and savior or whatever.” You say over your shoulder as you lock your door.
The kid frowns at you, “I was coming to tell you your car is getting towed.”
“WHAT?!” You shout, running to the stairs looking for your Mustang.
Sure enough, a tow truck was parked directly behind you, the driver walking back to the cab of his truck. You sprint down the stairs two steps at a time, skidding to a halt as you reach the truck.
“No no no man you can’t take her! I’m right here I’ll move it, this is my child!”
The tow truck driver is old, and tired, and clearly not willing to put up with you. He takes his trucker hat off and runs his fingers through an oily tuft of hair before replacing the hat on his head.
“Look kid, you’re parked in a tow zone. You can come get the car tomorrow afternoon once you pay the fine.”
“If there’s a scratch on her I swear to-“
The man slams his door shut, ignoring you. The tow truck rumbles to a start, and you watch mournfully as your beloved car is taken from you.
You put your hands on your head and pace, at a loss. You needed to be on set NOW, you were already late. And now your baby was being towed away, taken by this big ugly truck to the big ugly impound lot. You had parked in a tow zone last night, thinking you’d go back out after you ran to the bathroom and move it, but with all the shit going on in your head you had completely spaced it. Actions meet consequences.
You text Jenna to tell her you’re not, in fact, on your way and you’re stranded. And you’re sorry for being an idiot who got their car towed. The sweet angel of a human being texted you back almost immediately, solving your problem easily. Phil was around Hollywood, and would come get you momentarily. You thank her and walk to the marking curb to sit down and review the life choices that brought you here.
The kid in the tie made his way down the stairs and walked over to you, eyeing you curiously. You look up at him with a raised eyebrow. He couldn’t be more than 13 maybe 14 if you squinted.
“Where’s your parents kid?”
He points to an apartment on the other side of the U-shaped building, “I live right there with my grandma.”
You frown, looking over to the door he pointed at, “I’ve never seen you before.”
He shrugs, not offering an answer. You shrug back, not really needing one.
“So…do you want to hear about Jesus Christ now?”
“Awh hell kid, seriously no.”
“Hell is where you’ll end up if-“
You laugh, “Boy, do I have news for you.”
By the grace of some holy entity, Phil pulled up before you could educate the kid on your “lifestyle” and the tree he was barking up. You wave the kid off and jump in the car, grateful for Phil’s timing.
“Man you just saved that kid from an education he wasn’t ready for.” You tell him as you settle into the back seat.
Phil doesn’t ask questions, just chuckles and drives off.
———
The set was in a frenzy when you pulled into the parking lot. People were running around crossing each others paths like a haphazardly choreographed dance. The set was almost always full of activity, but people were in more of a frenzy than usual today. You catch the arm of a PA you recognize, pulling her aside.
“Is there a fire I don’t know about?” You ask her.
There is panic in her face at being stopped, and she pulls her arm from you. “The director is NOT in a good mood today.” She says as she hurries off to continue whatever she had been sent to do.
Uh oh. Task one, talk Jenna down. Actually, task one, find Jenna. You stand on your tiptoes, looking for the area that was being avoided the most, knowing that was likely where she’d be. There was a careful path being cut around the trailers, so you make your way through them, figuring you’d check her trailer first. On your way there you bump into one of the other actors, and they silently point you in the direction of the makeup trailer.
Olivia is out front smoking a cigarette in a black robe. Seeing her stokes your anxiety, reminding you of what was on the shooting schedule for the day. She sees you and a visible level of stress leaves her body.
“Oh thank fuck you’re here.”
“That bad?”
She grimaces, “You’ll see.”
You hear before you see. You can hear Jenna’s voice in the trailer. She’s not yelling, but she is very clearly not happy. You hesitate at the door, looking back to Olivia with a fearful frown on your face.
She shakes her head at you, “Oh no, this is your realm my friend. Get your ass in there.”
You gulp and open the door delicately. You’re immediately met with silence. The makeup artists have vacated the premises, the only occupants are Jenna and her assistant. He’s trying to make himself small in the corner and his eyes go wide when you step in. Jenna is pacing the length of the small trailer, so you lean back into the door to let her pass. When she passes you again without speaking, you decide to take mercy on him.
“You should probably head to set Junior.”
He doesn’t dally and practically leaps out of the door when you move away from it. You hear it click shut and meet Jenna in the middle of the trailer, halting her pacing. She allows you to stop her as you pull her into a hug. You know better now than to try to solve her problems for her, and set your attention on what she likely wants.
Her hair and makeup is already done so you’re careful when you separate yourself from her and tilt her chin up. She’s not angry and that surprises you. Everyone was tiptoeing around the trailer like she was a fire breathing dragon, but here she was, clearly vulnerable and upset. You lean down and press a gentle kiss to her lips, which she reciprocates immediately. She grabs the back of your neck, pulling you into her.
Had it not been for your concern about her set makeup, you would have let her do anything she wanted to you right then and there. But there was a schedule to uphold and you were the only one who was going to hold her to it at this point. You pull back from her, rubbing your hands up and down her arms. You still aren’t sure what’s going on, but you have an inkling it has something to do with the very thing you had been freaking out about earlier. In all your self pity you had forgotten that there was a person on the other end of this situation, and that person probably had some strong feelings about it as well.
She closes her eyes and sighs, her posture dropping when she opens them again. She doesn’t make any signs that she’s going to speak, so you do it for her.
“Distraction or discussion?” You ask her.
“I want to say distraction, but we don’t have time.” She replies, her muscles starting to tense up again.
“Okay, discussion then,” you say, your hands still on her arms, “What’s got you all messed up?”
She chews on her bottom lip. You know if she had her rings on she’d be spinning the hell out of them right now, but she’s already in costume so they’re not there for her. She takes in a deep breath and follows it with an onslaught of words.
“I’m worried about the scene today. Olivia is a perfect professional and I am a professional and I know that we are going to crush it. But I…” she pauses and looks you deep in the eye, “Im so afraid it’s going to freak you out. It’s freaking me out. Can we do this? Are we okay doing this? What if-“
You cut her off with another kiss. You’re slightly worried it’ll irritate her, but you’ve decided a half distraction might not be the worst idea. There’s a couch in the corner where Junior had been huddled and you back into it, pulling her with you. You sit down and she climbs into your lap facing you. You kiss her again, her makeup and hair be damned. She leans into you, her hands coming up from your neck into your hair, just a touch less than frantic. You’ve forgotten the schedule now, you’re a writer not a director. Fuck the schedule. Your hands move to her hips, and she groans leaning back from you, her chest heaving.
Her pupils are blown out and her lips parted. You can tell she doesn’t want to stop, but she’s forcing herself. She rests her hands on your shoulders, her breathing slowing. You’re somewhat disappointed but you’re also proud of yourself for calming her down. She bends down to rest her forehead on yours, closing her eyes again. You let her gather herself and wait patiently before you say anything to her. When she seems to relax further, you decide it’s time you’re up front with her.
“Can I be really honest for a second?” You whisper.
She leans back, worry clouding her features. You’ve ruined her lipstick, but the rest of her makeup is intact. The beauticians would be proud of you.
“I’ve been freaking out about this-“
She interrupts you, “I knew it, I shouldn’t do this I-“
“Hey hang on let me finish.” You interrupt her interrupting you. She pouts and it makes you smile in spite of the situation.
“What I was saying,” you continue, “was I’ve been freaking out about this but not because I can’t handle it. I’m nervous and I’ve never been in this situation before. But me and you, we’re going to be fine. I’m not going anywhere and I will be in there supporting you every step of the way. It’s gonna be fucking weird, but exactly zero parts of our relationship have been normal up to now.
She laughs and it’s like angels singing in the choir. Maybe the kid from earlier had a point. Only he was preaching the wrong religion. You were at the altar of her, and you should go to his door and tell him what divinity actually looked like. Or maybe you’d allow him to maintain his ignorance and keep this moment all to yourself like the greedy heathen you were.
She kisses your forehead and you can tell you’ve said all the right things. The worry is washed away from her and she’s looking at you like she thinks you’re the one who is divine. Oh the price you’d be willing to pay to hear her thoughts in that moment.
“I’m sorry,” she says, “I know this is a lot and…wait a minute are you okay? Your car?”
You shake your head, “Oh fuck I forgot about my baby. She has to spend the night in impound.” You stick your bottom lip out, exaggerating how sullen you felt about the car.
She smiles and runs her thumb over your lip, “We’ll go save her tomorrow, don’t worry.”
The ‘we’ in her sentence makes your heart sing. It’s no longer a you problem but a we problem. You’re struck with the realization that you love her. The sudden awareness of the emotion makes everything better and worse simultaneously. The fear of losing her grows, and the joy of having her grows. They are feelings dependent of one another and can’t be separated. You reopen the feelings cabinet and stuff them in, you’ll have to deal with that tremendous hulking beast later.
You want to tell her you love her, but instead you smile and nod. “Yeah, tomorrow.” You answer, dazed.
She sets her jaw and dissects herself from you, moving off your lap to stand between your knees. “Okay JD. We can do this. Let’s go have sex on camera.”
You laugh, the sound bubbling up from your stomach and shaking you. “Let’s not ever say that sentence again.”
She grins as she pulls you off the couch, clearly proud of herself for making a joke that would normally have come out of your mouth. You follow her out of the trailer and find Olivia waiting outside. She chuckles at the state of the two of you, not holding her tongue.
“Got Casanova to be your fluffer then?”
Jenna frowns in confusion and looks back to you. Her lipstick is smudged, so you lick your thumb and move to wipe it from her face, but she ducks under your hand.
“Oh absolutely not. We have make up artists for that, do not clean my face like my grandma right now.”
Her comment makes you laugh and you comply, putting your hands up in surrender. She turns on her heel and starts off toward the house with you and Olivia closely in tow.
Jenna and Olivia are completely different human beings when they’re in front of a camera. All playfulness and jokes are out the window and their serious work faces are on. You’re used to it now, having watched them work on the movie for over two months now, but it still impresses you every time when the switch is flipped. The assistant director is in Jenna’s chair, pushing the cameras in and giving them the cues to work off of.
The scene is set perfectly, even better than you imagined between the lines of your script. It starts off with them in a fight, which gradually progresses to them falling into bed together. You’re well aware of how the dance will go. They start and stop on the first few lines, getting the lighting and placement just right. You brace yourself for the impending doom you expect to wash over you the second their lips crash into each others.
But it never comes. You’re just as surprised as anyone when you find yourself with your jaw hanging open and your eyes wide. It occurs to you that you have watched Jenna do this before. Before you knew her at least. You’d seen all her movies, seen almost every scene she’d acted in. This was a completely separate person than the one who was in your lap only half an hour ago. This was the movie star you’d drooled over, tweeted about, chattered about to anyone who would listen. This was a character and you were fully willing to let it be just that.
You watch them act and you feel like you’re watching the movie in a theater. But you’ve got the best front row seat possible. You’re literally IN the movie set. Every time the assistant director cuts the scene you’re yanked back into reality and you recognize them again. It’s weird at first, obviously it’s weird, but you allow the movie magic to wash over you and it’s not nearly as difficult as you’d imagined.
Before you know it, Jenna is in a robe and at your side again, her eyes searching your face for signs of apprehension, but she can find none. You’re buzzing with excitement and she is shocked at your enthusiasm.
“That was…INCREDIBLE.” You say, hugging her and lifting her off the ground. She giggles as you spin around, only setting her down when you lose your balance and stumble into a light stand.
“So you’re okay?” She asks you.
“Okay? I can’t believe how good you were! And Olivia! Oh my god the passion! The aggression! Are you kidding me?”
Olivia yells at you from the other side of the set, “Settle down Casanova, or we’ll bring you into it next time!”
Your smile drops immediately and you scowl at her. You make a show of pushing Jenna behind your body and puff up your chest.
“You couldn’t handle me on your best day, home girl!” You joke, deadpan.
She blows a raspberry trying not to laugh at you and shakes her head, returning her attention to the assistant director. You’re riding a high, the realization that the scene is now over and your anxiety was for nothing lifts a weight off of your chest. Your mood is infectious and soon everyone is in high spirits. With this scene wrapped, the movie is almost complete. The schedule makes for another day or two of filming and then it goes into post production, where you play the waiting game and go back to your normal life.
You’re in too good a mood for that idea to really hit you yet, so you make room for it in your feelings filing cabinet, shoving it right next to the big L word that takes up most of the space in the drawer. Much like Scott Pilgrim, you’re terrified of that word and what it means for you. You let the thought go and enjoy the moment of relief.
————
“That’s a wrap!”
The moment the words left Jenna’s mouth the cast and crew erupted in cheers and whoops of laughter. Champagne bottles popped and the last remnants of the characters fell from the actors faces.
You watched the celebration in awe, the final moments of your first movie coming to a close. You couldn’t believe all of this had happened because you wrote words on paper and someone somewhere saw them and put them in the hands of Jenna. You allow the moment to swallow you whole, the pure joy radiating off of the crowd filling you up.
Olivia breaks free from the mass and runs over to you jumping on your shoulders and screaming.
“We did it Casanova! We fucking did it!”
You piggy back her around, running a short lap with her on your back. She slides off when you stop, smacks you on the butt and grins at you.
“Better go tell the director congratulations lover boy.” She says and runs back into the throng of bodies.
You laugh watching her jump on more people, enjoying her moment. A bottle of champagne pops behind you making you spin around. Jenna is holding two glasses and a now overflowing bottle, a huge smile plastered to her face. You make your way over to her and curtsy, then bow extending your hand. Instead of taking it, she hands you the glass and fills it to the top.
She fills hers and leaves the bottle on a table, clinking her glass to yours.
“Congratulations,” you tell her, smiling over the rim of your glass before taking a swig.
“This is all because of you, so I think the compliments go to you.”
“I could start a sickeningly sweet argument with you right now, but I don’t want everyone around us to suffer.”
“Let’s take it to my trailer then, you can tell me all about this argument of yours.” Jenna says, picking up the bottle again and holding her arm out for you to hold.
You loop your hand through the crook of her elbow and bend down to whisper in her ear, “Ooh yeah, debate team really gets me going, let’s go argue.”
She rolls her eyes still leading you away from the party, “Do you want to ruin this moment for yourself? Because you’re rapidly ruining this moment for yourself.”
“How about naked debate team. Now thats an idea.”
“You really think you could argue with me naked?”
You gulp, your voice cracking at the thought, “N-no. You’re right naked debate team is a terrible idea.”
When you step inside her trailer she sets the champagne bottle down on the table and turns to you. “Seriously though y/n, congratulations.” She wraps her arms around the back of your neck, looking up at you as she speaks, “I’m so proud of how far you’ve come these last few months and I can’t wait to see what else you do.”
Her words spread a rapid fire of warmth through your body, filling you to the brim with adoration and pride. You look down at her, a soft smile playing at your lips. You hadn’t planned on getting emotional, but here you were, unable to find a joke that could worm your way out of this complex situation.
“Thank you,” you say, “Thank you for everything. Thank you for showing up on my doorstep five months ago. Thank you for aggressively pursuing my movie, thank you for kissing me at that premiere and thank you for being the best director and star I could have ever imagined for this movie.”
Jenna’s expression is so soft it nearly hurts you. She pulls you down and kisses you hard, growing faster and frenzied quickly. She pulls you into the back of the trailer and into the bed.

Post production on most movies takes six months to a year. All the excitement of filming is done and the studio gets to work on compiling the footage and audio to create the masterpiece that people will see in the theater.
As the lead writer, you’re still called in to the studio here and there for a scene edit or a small rewrite, but for the most part, your job is done. You received a fat paycheck and cashed out, saving most of it. Jenna is in the studio nearly every day toiling over the imagery and reviewing every clip of footage and audio as it’s spliced together.
You had hoped she would spend more nights with you due to the proximity to her work, but often she commutes. Shes working a schedule that you had paled at when you saw it on paper. You’re not sure when she ever sleeps or eats, she works that much. You try not to let the feelings filing cabinet overflow, but one day a few weeks into post production, you’re really going through it.
You’d been trying to write all day, all week really, but nothing was good enough. You’d scrapped page after page, until you gave up on something new. You started unearthing old scripts, moving piles of paper around and re-reading them, trying to find one that could use a thorough rewrite.
It was in the midst of that activity that you found yourself lying on your back on your floor, staring at your ceiling. You had created a nearly perfect outline of yourself in screenplays, a writer’s version of a chalk outline around a dead body on the floor. The emotions were spilling out of your ‘orderly’ filing system and the only way to deal with it was to lay very still and hope they went away. You dealt with big feels like the kids in Jurassic park dealt with the T-Rex. Avoid avoid avoid, hold very still, avoid avoid.
Your front door opening and closing rouses you from an unintentional nap, and you’re confused as to why you’re still on the floor. Apparently, you had gone so still hiding from your own mind that you racked out amongst the mountains of your scripts.
“What exactly is happening here?” Jenna’s voice comes from above you and you prop yourself up on your elbows, yawning.
“I was dealing with some things and then the scripts tried to tie me down like Gulliver‘s Travels.”
“Uh huh.” She says, dropping her purse onto the table in the entry way and making her way over to you.
She shifts a few piles aside, removing half of the wall of paper from your side and lays on the floor next to you. The gesture is sweet and so typically Jenna.
“Do you want to tell me what things you were dealing with?” She asks, turning on her side to look at you.
You don’t want to tell her, you think. You do NEED to tell her. “I’m…feeling some big…things.” You say, halting between words as you think them through.
She doesn’t say anything, just raises her eyebrows and waits for you to continue. You puff up your cheeks and let the air rush out of your mouth. Here goes nothing.
“What if I’m boring?” You say to the ceiling.
Jenna snorts, “You are far from boring.”
“What if I can’t write another movie worth making?”
“You can. And there are plenty of movies worth making in this living room alone.”
“What if Secessus flops?”
“It’s not going to flop. And even if it does, we try, try again. That’s the business.”
You finally turn to face her, “What if after we’re done with Secessus, you figure out you actually are too good for me?”
She frowns at that, and thinks hard for a moment. She explores your expression, trying to work out if you’re joking or not. When she realizes you’re not, she sits up and leans over you.
“I am not dating you because of this movie.”
“Well, because of this script, we are dating.”
“Because of this script, we met. We’re dating because you’re a looney toon and I happen enjoy that about you.”
You sulk, “I’m not a looney toon. I’m a real boy.”
Jenna rolls her eyes and laughs at you, even in a serious moment you can’t help but joke. “When this movie is done, we’ll make another one. We’ll be like Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter.”
“They broke up,” you huff.
“Okay, we’ll be like Tim Burton and Johnny Depp.”
“Jenna, I’m in lesbians with you.”
She slaps your arm, her face serious. “Don’t joke like that.”
You sit up, forcing her to shift to your side and you take her hand. All jokes aside, you need to unpack that damned filing cabinet.
“Okay, the other L word.”
She shakes her head, not allowing you to get out of it so easily. “Which one, y/n?”
You sigh and look at your hands, her fingers intertwined in yours. No holding back now boys, here comes the full monty. You look back up and the sight of her nearly takes your breath away. At this point, you figure you have nothing to lose. Either she loves you back or she doesn’t, she’s still right there and you can’t keep it neatly tucked away anymore.
“I love you.”
The soft gasp that leaves her lips may as well have been made of the last breath of air to ever enter your lungs. Nothing would ever get better than that sound. Nothing except when she replies.
“I love you too. And it’s about damn time.”
You’re dumbfounded. She somehow always knows what you’re going to do. She’s always a step ahead of you. And you love her for it. You love her.
“About damn time?” You parrot back in mock outrage, “It’s been like six months dude we-“
You never get the chance to finish your sentence because she’s pushing you into your back and kissing you with a fervor you hadn’t yet witnessed. It’s soft and rushed, and it’s rough and sweet all at once. Your head spins but your hands have a mind of their own. They travel from her thighs to her hips to her ribs to her back, making notes of their journey all the way through. You stay like that for a while, telling each other everything that needed to be said without words.
One of you bumps a limb into a stack of screenplays and they avalanche down around you, spreading all over the living room floor and slowing your bodies adventurous touches. After a while, Jenna pulls herself away from you and sits up, resting on your hips. She reaches out for the closest screenplay and opens it, looking back to you.
“Which one are we making next?”

Hello RTA! Could you explain what the red flags about Harry being a security risk are?
I don't have any sort of training in this, and I'm curious. How would the idiot party playboy Prince who is an avowed drug addict and a fantasist be considered as a source of reliable intelligence about his family? - this guy thinks there are penguins in the North Pole.
I'm more inclined to believe that the recent conspiracies over Catherine may have been encouraged by those who want to destabilize UK democracy - taking down William and Catherine would certainly cause some upheaval. But as I said, I have no training and this is just speculation. What do you think?
Well, you can't discount anything these days. The world changed a lot with COVID so there's a lot of upheaval everywhere.
To me, the attempted takedown of William and Kate reads a lot like bored people stirring shit up about boring people for entertainment. Because let's face it: compared to a lot of other worldwide famous people, William and Kate are probably two of the most boring and uninteresting people out there. They have complicated jobs but lead uncomplicated lives, which isn't the norm these days. Social media and the 24/7 news cycle has made us realize that most famous people are hiding complicated, messy lives and it's only a matter of time before it comes out. So when someone like Kate comes along - someone extraordinarily likeable and extraordinarily uncomplicated - it's so unthinkable that denizens of social media will do everything they can to break that person down to discover the skeletons in their closet. They do this to either a-tear them down off the pedestal society has placed them upon (e.g., "see? I always knew she was a bad person. I'm glad I didn't waste my time supporting him/her"), or b-feel better about themselves (e.g., "see? Even I know not to do that).
That's what I see happening to Kate. People can't handle that she's so ordinary and uncomplicated despite having this incredible life. They're accustomed to scandal and controversy and it's so bizarre to them that Kate's only mistake is that her skirt blew up at a windy airport and everyone saw her bum twice so when the photo edits were discovered, there was a wicked "see? I always knew she wasn't a very trustworthy person. What else has she lied about" gleefulness that perhaps she isn't so unlikeable after all.
But certainly bad actors or adversaries who want to shake things up are probably participating in the discourse about Kate. I don't think they want to shake up or destabilize UK democracy (and besides, even if they did, this is totally the wrong avenue - they need to disrupt the economy instead because all they've done is expose that Kate is happy staying at home with her family and not working so she really couldn't give a shit about the monarchy). I think it's more like they want to weaken her influence over culture, society, and the public...but the problem with that is who do they replace her with? The only options are Meghan, Charles, and Camilla, but they just don't galvanize public sentiment the way Kate (and her children) has.
Anyway, well, that's a tangent.
Let's get into the red flags and the security piece of your question. I submitted a couple of anons to another blog about this very topic a long time ago. I'll see if I can track that down later.
So some vocabulary first:
Insider threat: Someone with authorized access to or knowledge of an organization and its resources (which is everything from people to buildings/facilities to information to equipment and infrastructure).
Protected information: Information that you need authorized access to, which may or may not be classified and/or restricted.
Bad actor: Someone (a person, a group, a country) who purposefully engages in harmful behavior against another (person, group, country, region, etc.)
Adversary: An enemy
Bad actors and adversaries are often used interchangeably but this isn't correct. They're distinctly separate. A bad actor isn't always an adversary.
Harmful behavior is a huge wide range of things from the unethical and immoral to criminal and illegal. On one side of the spectrum is stuff that's pretty innocuous, like not telling a colleague a meeting was moved so you can take exclusive credit for work. On the other side of the spectrum is more serious stuff like espionage and terrorism.
When we consider whether someone is a security risk, we're looking at a) their predisposition to engage in harmful behavior and b) their predisposition to be exploited by a bad actor or an adversary. To do that we assess what indicators or stressors (aka "red flags") they have. The more indicators your profile flags, the higher your potential security risk. The higher your potential security risk, the more scrutiny you're under.
And do note that having indiciators doesn't mean you're a threat. It just means you're watched a little more closely so your patterns are better understood and once your patterns/habits are known, then someone can decide what your actual security risk is. But just as equally, not having indicators doesn't mean you're not a risk or that you aren't a threat. So it's a negotiable spectrum that changes constantly from day to day.
There are six categories of indicators: personal, background/history, behavior, technical, environment, and violence.
I'm going to list examples of them all. I'll put a 🚩 next to the ones I see in Harry and a ❌ next to the ones I see in Meghan.

So as you can see, Harry (and Meghan) have red flags all over the place. That makes them a legitimate security risk for the UK and the BRF. All a bad actor or an adversary has to do is flatter their egos and give them money, and the Sussexes will roll over. It's happened so many times already - with Spare, with the Netflix docuseries, with Meghan's interviews and her podcast. And let's not forget Finding Freedom, where Meghan and Scobie literally printed directions on how to find the royal vaults!
And because it's very obvious Charles wants Harry back - Harry keeps coming back for events and there's all these trial balloons from BP/CH and Montecito - it would be very easy for someone to gain control of Harry and hold him hostage against Charles and the BRF. All someone has to do is say "Harry, you've been selected to receive the inaugural Princess Diana Humanitarian Award for Superior Excellence. It comes with a $4 million USD cash prize but you have to come to Bosnia and do a landmine event to claim it." Then Harry goes to Bosnia, they get him drunker than sin and higher than God, he passes out wherever, and they Weekend-at-Bernie's him to Russia, where he's held in the gulag, escalating their blackmail demands until Charles is broker than a busted doorknob.
Farfetched? Sure. But still possible, which means it's a valid risk they need to consider.
And when we assess risk, we look at the probability of such an event happening and the consequence of the event happening on a scale from 1 to 5 where a 1 in probability means not likely to happen or a 1 in consequence is little to no damage or impact and a 5 in probability means most certainly going to happen and a 5 in consequence means significant damage/destruction, including significant loss of life or millions and millions of dollars to fix/repair/rebuild.
So the probability of Harry getting kidnapped and held hostage in Russia is 1. It's pretty low, not likely going to happen. But the impact, or consequence, of Harry getting kidnapped and held hostage in Russia is a 5. Meaning there will be a loss of life (such as war or perhaps a CIA-like exfiltration that goes wrong or perhaps Harry getting sacrificed) or a LOT of money being paid to guarantee his safety.
But Harry doesn't even have to get kidnapped by the Russians. He just has to be so disgruntled and so pissed off about how the BRF and the UK treats him that he can leverage what he knows against Charles or William to get what he wants. Which is, by the way, exactly what's happening. Harry is so pissed off that he's devolved to ultimatums: "Give me X or you won't see my children." "Give me X or I'll tell everyone about the time you Y." Which, depending on who your neighborhood tarot reader is, is what people are saying is happening in the background: Harry is using his insider knowledge and/or access to cause harm to Charles and the monarchy to gain advantage over William or the public.
That's why Harry's still on the website. That's why he still has the titles. That's why the US is dragging its feet on the visa lawsuit. Because whether he (or we) realize it or not, there's protection around Harry that's working to keep him safe from extremist threats like this because to threaten - or activate - Harry is more dangerous to UK stability and UK democracy than social media activists declaring that the Waleses are divorcing.
Well, that took a wild ride.
Anyway, I hope it's helpful, anon. If you'd like to learn more about this kind of stuff, check out some of the free DOD-supported online training courses here. These are pretty similar to the annual training requirements I have to do for work so they should give you a good background on red flags and insider threats to help better see the threats and risks that Harry poses to the UK.
Also, just a real quick thing. Risk and threat don't always mean the same thing. Risk measures potential loss. Threat measures potential harm. Sometimes they're used to mean risk = potential and threat = actualized but not in the security world.

Batfamily Halloween Special🎃
Bruce was throwing his annual Halloween Costume Party, and let every year all the kids always dress up. Most of kids weren’t in the Manor as they would arrive later to join in the spooky festivities.
Alfred was overseeing the staff with last minute decorations. Fake blood, cobwebs, fake skulls, fog machine. Anything you could find at your local Spirt Halloween Alfred had gotten to first. The DJ was finishing his last few technical checks and the catering company was always done with the last few creative dishes.
Meanwhile, upstairs Damian was fidgeting in his sit,”Are we almost Sister?”
“Hold still or you makeup will get messed up.” Y/n was the only person home that could help Damian finish with his costume. After a few moments she pulled back and smiled,”All done.”
Damian flung out of his seat and into his sister’s bathroom to look at his makeup.
“Wow, you managed to make me look the skeleton from that film Grayson made me watch.”
“Jack, you look like Jack Dames.” She took a comb and finished smoothing out his hair. “What’s your costume?” He inquired taking the combing to fix his own hair.
She went into her closet and came out dressed as cowgirl Barbie from the movie with hat and boots.
“Now go put on your costume Dames Dick said he’s five minutes away with the girls.” She fixed her wig and adjusted her scarf. Damian walked to his room around the corner and changed into the costume his brother had gotten for him a few days ago.
When he emerged from his room, Dick and Y/n were laughing at a his phone and noticed Damian.
“Aww Little D, you look so frightening.”
“Tt. And what are you supposed to be Grayson.”
“Aladdin,Kori’s running late but she’s going to be Jasmine.” The three went downstairs which was now in full effect and Alfred greeted the siblings dressed as Count Dracula.
“Nice fang Alife.” Alfred smiled at the three and offered them red punch in black and purple plastic cups. “Why Thank you Master Richard, I must stay though they do take a lot to get used to.”
Barbara arrived with Cassandra, Stephanie and Duke all dressed for the party.
“Aww Dami you look so adorable.” Steph fussed taking pictures of the youngest. He huffed and walked away into the main ballroom where the music was blasting but only a few people from Wayne Enterprise and Queen Construction had arrived.
———
Y/n snapped a few pictures with Duke and Barbara aka Spider-man and Kim Possible.
Jason arrived with Tim and Bernard not far behind him. “May wanna close that vest up Dickhead your getting cold.” He teased Dick who rolled his eyes.
“IT’s October Jason.”
“My nipples aren’t sharing at everyone entering the house.”
“Jason knock it off.” Y/n huffed, Dick self consciously pulled his vested.
The group had moved to the ballroom mintues ago and more people from Wayne Enterprises and some League members had arrived. Jason stretched standing from the table,” Okay this Skywalker needs food.”
Stephanie and Cass followed dress as the Pink and Yellow Power Rangers.
Selina entered the room dressed as Marylin Monroe and waved,”Why do glum kittens, your parents go trick or treat without you?”
Fred or Tim shook his head,” They’re not here yet, it’s just boring right now.”
Bernard played with the green scarf on his Daphne shirt.
She sighed and saw a several costumed adults and looked back the way she came. “Well looks like the Calvary just arrived. Have fun.” She slipped away into the now bigger crowd.
Members or Young Justice, Titans and Birds of Prey arrived in costumes and soon the kids mingled with their friends and went away from the table only living Y/n and Damian.
“You should ask Uncle Clark why he didn’t come.” She spoke up over the Monster Mash song.
“Tt, if he cared he would have came sister.” He spat.
She stood up from the table and turned to him, “He’s your best friend and he’s been through a lot. Maybe Halloween is just a lot for him, if you tell him how much it would mean to you to show up I’m sure he’d fly here in a heartbeat.”
Damian didn’t answer his sister but did glance across the room to Clark and Lois dressed as Frankinstein and the Bride who chatted with Diana,John and Wally dressed as a Fairy, Boxer and a Race Car Driver.
Damian grab his cup and pondered as he made his way to the refreshment table. He grabbed a few pieces of cheese and felt like his wished the night was over.
The music stopped as DJ announced the arrival of the hosts Bruce and Batmom entered the room dressed as Gomez and Mortica Adams. Once they thanked everyone for coming the party once again went into full swing and Damian slipped away into the gardens.
“Damian?” A voice called to him after what felt like a short while. Bruce sat next to him.
“Are you not having fun?”
He sighed,”Yes father the party is very good.”
Bruce was silent for a few moments and then let out his own deep sigh.”Your sister told me you miss Jon. You should call him, Clark told me the only reason he didn’t come was because he figured you wouldn’t want to participate.”
Damian turned to his father,”Really?”
Bruce smiled at his son and gave his shoulder a squeeze. “He’s your best friend, just call him.” After that Bruce returned inside and Damian remained seated.
He signed before looking at the ground.”Kent,I know listening…I think—I want you come to the party. It’s rather…dull.” He spoke barley in a whisper.
For a while it was just the distance sounds of Gotham noises and the booming sounds from the music inside and then a sudden gust of wind blew a few strands of hair.
“Hi Damian.” Damian’s gaze fell ontop the floating teen before him in full costume.
A grin painted his figured,”And what are you supposed to be Kent?”
“Uh Duh, I’m Danny Phantom.”
Damian laughed and Jon rolled his eyes.
“Come on I’m starving I heard Alfred has jalapeño poppers.” Damian joined Jon as they headed inside.
Y/n elbowed her brother and Jason spilled his punched on himself. He followed his sister’s gaze and they watch from a far.
Dick beamed as he got closer to them,”Aww Little D’s not lonely anymore.”
Jason rolled his eyes. “I don’t know how he can be, you Mother Hen him to death every two seconds.”
Dick shoved Jason and the rushed of his punched spilled on his costume. Dick nervously sprinted away with Jason bolting after him.
“Imbeciles.” Y/n sighed eating a eyeball cheese.

This chapter turned out much different than I planned but it's a good change. I have learned that my biggest writing weakness is impulse. I usually only struggle when I impulsively decide to change or write something else.
@owl-bones
First Day, Previous Day, & Next Day.
Bad Sansuary: Nightmare - PJs
Word Count: 2,153
You were thinking about going to bed soon when a gentle knock sounded on your front door. You were already in your pajamas and it was rather late, so who could be at your door?
You retrieved your brass knuckles and slipped them on just in case. Taking a peek through the peephole, you were relieved to see that it was only Nightmare standing outside. Then the absurdity of this situation set in and you did a double take, looking again.
What was he doing outside your door?
Setting the weapons aside, you unlocked the door and opened it. "Hi, uh... I wasn't expecting you..." You chuckled and rubbed the back of your neck before adding, "What's the occasion?"
His permanent smile widened and he let out a soft chuckle. "I just wanted to come see you in person, my dear. I hope I'm not intruding?" His tentacles slowly undulated behind him as he spoke.
You shrugged your shoulders and stood back from the door to let him in. "Nah, I don't mind," you answered.
Once he'd come inside, you shut the door again and turned to him. "It's a bit late to really do anything together. So, unless you wanted to do something, is this like...a sleepover?" You couldn't help teasing him a little bit as you still weren't sure what he thought of you.
He seemed kind of confused and he studied you quietly for a moment. "Did you want me to stay over?" he asked in a soft voice.
You hadn't expected him to seem actually interested but you nodded. "Yeah, if you're able to I wouldn't mind. I've been a bit lonely lately, you know?"
His bonebrows furrowed with concern but he said nothing. He didn't need to anyways as you both knew what the reason for that was. You hadn't heard from any of your skeleton friends all week, and while spending time with Nightmare in the dream world was nice, you couldn't help missing your other friends too.
You decided to focus on something else rather than spoil a potentially fun evening. So, you started to pull out a bunch of extra blankets and pillows from your closet. Nightmare just sort of watched while you set about arranging them into a comfy nest of sorts on the floor in the living room.
You'd experienced very few actual sleepovers growing up, but thanks to the magic of tv and movies, you knew approximately what to do. It helped that you were already in your pajamas, even if they weren't cute ones and literally just a pair of shorts and an old t-shirt. While you didn't feel like making snacks, you could watch some random television together if Nightmare wanted to join you.
He was still just quietly watching you and it was making you wonder if he was alright. So, you decided to try and distract him.
"Do you have like...a favorite pair of pajamas, like something that's really warm and comfy? Or do you not care for that sort of thing?" You glanced over at him once you were satisfied with the blanket nest and tilted your head curiously for his response.
He got a bit of an amused look and shook his skull. "I do have pajamas but I don't actually require sleep, with the whole being a god situation." He hummed in a thoughtful way and added, "I can sleep I suppose but it doesn't give any real benefits whether I do or not."
"Huh... I guess that makes sense." You pursed your lips thoughtfully. "I didn't even consider you may not have to deal with fatigue like the rest of us."
He chuckled, "That's not entirely correct... Using too much magic is still tiring of course but that's not usually an issue." He glanced around before adding, "Give me a minute and I'll be back."
You nodded and watched as his body seemed to liquify before sinking into the floorboards and completely disappearing. You guessed that was his way of teleporting? Of course, he had to be much more dramatic than the boys were, who all just sort of disappeared with no melting involved.
He reappeared about a minute later just as he'd said but he was dressed differently this time. He wore gray plaid button up pajamas with a black silk bathrobe and fuzzy slippers. Honestly, it was kind of basic considering his usual penchant for finery, but pajamas were supposed to be comfortable to make sleep come easier.
"It's a little over the top for sleeping, isn't it?" you joked. You kind of felt out done right now in all honesty.
Nightmare sat down next to you with a huff. "I very rarely even try to sleep, okay?" His voice had a slight growl to it and there was the faintest hint of a cyan glow over his zygomatic bones. While he was quick to mask how you'd managed to fluster him, you knew what you saw.
"I think they suit you though," you said with a hum and leaned back against the couch. "You wanna just hang out and watch tv for a bit until one of us passes out?"
"Maybe until you pass out, my dear," he teased and lightly ruffled your hair.
You shot him an annoyed look but there wasn't any malice in it. You both sat there for a while just enjoying being close and watching some random reality tv show.
"Hey, can I ask you something?" you asked after a couple minutes.
He turned, giving you his full attention. "Of course, what's on your mind?"
"I've been thinking about what you said last night and I think I would like you to draw me into an Encounter. I want to know what my soul looks like."
He studied you for a moment before taking a deep breath. "Why do you really want to know?" he asked. His voice had taken on a much more serious tone now and his eye socket was narrowed as he continued watching you.
You were a bit taken aback by his question. You were just curious as it wasn't something society had allowed you to know. There wasn't anything wrong with that, right...?
Nightmare clicked his non-existent tongue and tilted your chin up so you'd look at him again. "I don't need to be a god to know that there's another reason you want this. However, I can feel the turmoil in your soul and you really should be honest with yourself."
You sighed and fiddled with your nails. "I guess... I just want to know what all four of you see in me that's so special... Why else would any of you continue to hang around?"
You felt his tentacles slither around you and he pulled you closer, wrapping his arms around your body as well. He held you close and gently leaned his skull against your forehead.
"You've been worrying about this for a while, haven't you?" he murmured.
"Yeah... It's only gotten worse lately..."
He ran his claws through your hair in a soothing way. "I'm sorry, I certainly didn't help with matters either I'm sure. Your soul is what makes you...you. None of us would have gotten so close with you if there wasn't something special."
You sighed, "That's the thing though... I just want to know what that is."
"It's your ability to be kind, dear." His tone sounded so confident and sure of himself that you found yourself speechless. He gave your body a light squeeze and continued, "Or rather, your ability to be kind despite everything you've been through and how you put yourself into other's perspectives."
You hummed quietly as you thought over what he'd said. Anyone could be kind though. You still didn't understand why you were different from anyone else. Surely other humans weren't so heartless like the boys had sometimes hinted at...
"That being said, would it help you feel better if I showed you?" Nightmare asked in that familiar velvety voice.
"I don't know. I want to believe it will but what if my soul doesn't look right? I don't know if it would convince me."
He gently chided you. "Your overall appearance and personality are greatly influenced by your soul. I highly doubt it will...not look right."
You sighed and wiggled in his grip until he released your body. "Okay, then I'd like to see my soul. I trust you, Nightmare."
He studied you for a moment before nodding. "Very well. I'm honoured to know that you can say that with such conviction as not many people would."
He moved his hand so that it was hovering just above your chest but he hesitated for moment and glanced up at you. When you didn't change your mind, his cyan eyelight began to burn brighter and he focused intently for a moment.
You felt a sort of pressure in your chest just below your collarbone before a small teal heart slowly emerged from your body. It glowed softly and the living room seemed to get even darker than before, even though you hadn't turned the tv off.
You knew now why Nightmare had been hesitant to actually draw you into an Encounter in the beginning. Not only did you suddenly feel incredibly exposed, but you could also see several hairline fractures criss crossing along the surface of your soul. You didn't know what they meant but you could sense that the fractures couldn't be a good thing.
Nightmare was silent and when you finally tore your gaze away from your soul, you saw the expression of contemplation that graced his skull. He seemed to sense that you were staring and his eyelight flicked up to your face again.
"Do you still doubt that you're special now?" he whispered and brushed his knuckles against your cheek.
"I..." You found yourself at a loss for words and struggled to articulate exactly what you were feeling at the moment. "I...didn't know souls were this beautiful..."
He let out a quiet chuckle. "Indeed. Not all are as beautiful as yours though."
His eyelight briefly glanced down at your soul before he looked back into your eyes again. "Your primary trait is in fact Kindness and your secondary is called Empathy. Incredibly fitting, wouldn't you say?" His tone sounded kind of like he was teasing but there was still a genuineness in his gaze at the same time.
"Yeah, it is..." You could feel yourself tearing up a little and desperately tried to keep yourself from actually crying. "What do the cracks mean?"
His eye socket narrowed and he pulled you a bit closer against himself before answering. "That's something only you can truly know. Everyone goes through events in life that can affect them in various ways. Cracks usually signify moments of hardship or negative experiences that affected you so deeply that they left a mark."
"I see..." you muttered. "It's still beautiful. Thank you for showing me, Nightmare."
He nodded and carefully guided your soul back into your body. You couldn't help letting out an inadvertent sigh of relief as the room became brighter again. He wrapped your body up in his tentacles, giving you a gentle hug.
"You're very welcome, my dear," he purred against your hair.
It was hard to focus on anything but what you'd just experienced. You felt like you should feel freaked out or at the very least embarrassed, but you didn't. Maybe it would set in at some point, but for now you had a lot to digest.
You knew what your soul trait was and yet your life seemingly hadn't changed. You were grateful that Nightmare had been willing to show you, but you weren't sure if he'd had his own reasons for doing so. It probably didn't even matter at this point anyways. If he was going to hurt you, he would have already or he could've done it while you were so vulnerable moments ago.
You were rapidly becoming more tired the longer he continued to hold you. You felt oddly safe with him though and so you didn't even question it when you inevitably fell asleep leaning against him. While you had a dreamless sleep for the first night this week, you weren't too surprised when you woke up tucked into your own bed again.
There was a note taped to your alarm clock in very intricate cursive writing, like the writer had used either a calligraphy pen or maybe an actual quill. While you had to squint and adjust how close it was to your face for a bit like a nearsighted person, you eventually were able to read it.
"Good morning dear, I am sorry that I had to leave before you woke up but please know that I enjoyed our little impromptu sleepover. I will see you soon and I hope you slept well after everything. Yours truly, Nightmare."

Digital Altars📱🔮
Altars are considered a key element of witchcraft for deity worship, elemental, planetary or ancestral connections, or spell work. However, they can be costly, you may not have the space for it, or you may be in the broom closet. But you don't need a physical altar, you don't even need physical tools. Digital altars are a great way to worship deities in the case you’re unable to set up a physical altar. There are heaps of alternatives if you’d like to get creative with it.
Some people doubt the integrity of digital altars, however I believe they gain metaphysical energy as they’re created, which can be used for witchcraft. Think about emoji spells for example!
Digital altars are different to digital shrines, which are similar in concept, but different in purpose. Shrines are more of a permanent honouring of a being, and they don't necessarily have to be used actively. Meanwhile altars are for active worshiping, when you’re actually giving an offering or trying to contact that deity. However, digital altars can also function as a shrine, depending on use!
Below are 19 different options for digital altars (but I'd suggest using multiple!)
Image/Collage Altars
Picrew Altar Sketch (by Camade)
This game was designed specifically for creating altars suitable for sacred spaces to perform deity worship, to connect with ancestors, and to be a witch’s working table. After saving it you can edit the picture frames to add pictures of your deity, your family or any other being. It has a lot of variability so it’s great for creating multiple altars very quickly in a consistent aesthetic.
Here’s a link to one I made the other day, using colours and imagery to suit my purpose. This is probably the easiest of the options, while also being the most versatile. However, there are limitations as you can't really make it specific to your chosen deity unless you edit the image later.
Canva / Morpholio / Photoshop
These allow for creating single image collages to set as your phone or laptop background with crystals, cardinal directions, deity images, candles, wands or any other altar tools, along with quotes, intentions and prayers. This can be as subtle or structured as you want, making it helpful for closeted witches.
You can use the collages you create for wallpapers on your laptop or phone, or you could get them printed out and stick them on your wall!
In-Game Altars
Minecraft
On Minecraft you can built entire structures as an altar or shrine, but you’re limited with decorations unless you install a mod. Mods can give you a lot of room to be creative and have a strong aesthetic. Alternatively, you can build just one room and line it with books, add an enchanting table, potions, diamond/emerald blocks, brewing stands, cauldrons and more, using the standard texture pack.
@gailcraft was kind enough to speak to me about her experiences using altars on Minecraft. She usually uses her Minecraft altars to function as a travel altar or when her physical altar hasn’t been cleansed, mainly as a visual representation of her physical altars rather than an actual workspace. When using her Minecraft altar, she generally keeps it strictly digital, writing out prayers on signs and giving in-game offerings of food and potions which correspond with the deity.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you can see in the images she’s provided, she’s created a cottage-like structure to house her main digital altar to serve as a safe space, decorated with candles, crystals and plants inside. She has separate deity altars for Hades and Persephone, decorated with skull paintings, gold, spiders eye, crystals, flowers, a skeleton skull, lanterns and the aforementioned offerings in picture frames.
These are great altar alternatives as they don’t require much maintenance or energy, and are suitable for witches who are unable to have a physical altar or who travel a lot.
Another really cool idea for digital altars by @neonswitchhouse is to make digital spell jars by placing items in chests that may best represent your purpose, and you can specify this by writing intents on signs above the chests.
An added bonus is that you can design a skin for your avatar to look like yourself, and you can get pets like wolfs or cats.
Animal Crossing
New Horizons has so much potential for digital altars as it’s super customisable. You can dedicate an entire room in your house to witchcraft, decorating it with a glowing magic-circle flooring, candle wallpaper, candles, stonework kitchen sets, gothic mirrors, decorative bottles, cauldrons, brick ovens, pillars, stone and candle chandeliers. They also have divination sets with crystal balls, incense, bones (in the form of dinosaurs) and a whole load of other decorative options. The main issue is that collecting all of these is time-consuming unless you purchase them online. You can make offerings by placing items that correspond with your deity in your room.
There are heaps of examples of this. @spookynerdghoul has one here and @blomi-isle has one here. Alternatively @ostarasghost has a dedicated corner which you can see here.
You could also make an outdoor altar space, or multiple all around your island. You can create patterns to put on the floor as runes or sigils that correspond with your intent, if you’re looking to do spellwork or deity worship in-game. You could make offerings through art by creating patterns and placing them on stands.
There’s even a zodiac-themed item set that you can create by wishing on shooting stars. You can customise and dress up your avatar to wear cute witchy clothes too, or download outfits from their online section that other players have designed.
On my island, I have one section with a stonehenge which lines up with the full moon, as well as a separate rocky-section with some candles and a skull-hat, and a crescent moon island with a pattern of Saturn that I created, but I encourage you to go more full-out than I did!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stardew Valley
@baduhennasravensraven classifies these as shrines, but I’d like to show it as an example as a potential altar. They’ve set up multiple sheds to serve as shrines/temples for different deities! You can see images in their post here.
Like for Minecraft, you do needs mods to get the full experience, but again you can make digital spell jars by growing the plants that best represent your purpose and placing them in with items that may best represent your purpose.
Sims / Avakin
I’ve grouped these together because they’re similar, but in both you can design and decorate houses in a 3D virtual world.
Again, expansion and stuff packs are needed to use Sims to the fullest, but you can find some great ones by @simdertalia here and here, or one by @lycheesmods here. Some more of the relevant ones are the Magic School mod (fair warning: it’s Harry Potter inspired) and the Paranomal pack, where you can have ghosts as roomates and perform a séance.
Here's an example altar made on Avakin by @onixdace. I'm not that familiar with this program, but it looks similar in concept to other house-design/decoration games.
Hollowmoor
@hollowmoor-game is a steam game still in the works with a planned release in 2023. I’m not sure yet of specific ideas in using it as a digital altar, but I’m sure it’ll be great, and I’ll update this post when it does come out.
According to their page, “As a budding young Witch or Wizard you’ll need to manage your farm and explore the mystical world to gather your ingredients. Brew potions! Forge enchantments! Complete orders for the townsfolks and learn their stories! Bring magic back to Hollowmoor!”
It seems promising! I believe it’s similar in concept to Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing, so I’m sure you could form a digital altar in the same way in Hollowmoor once it’s released.
Abstract Art Altars
Dream AI
[Edited 10 Dec 22] I’ve recently become aware AI art generators steal from creators online and I no longer endorse this method. Instead I recommend using art apps like CSP, playing a devotional playlist and drawing or painting what comes to mind to create an abstract piece of your own for a specific purpose. This way, in very low opacity, you can write out your intention and add images to be displayed subliminally on your altar.
Dream AI is an artificial intelligence art-creating app. You can use this to make an abstract artistic altar by typing in words like your deities name and their associations or a short prayer or intention, use the outcome as an altar by making it your phone background. You can also set a base image to inspire the art with your deity of choice, making a sort of subliminal image of that deity within the creation. This is helpful for closet witches, you can just claim you like the art the AI produced if anyone asks.
Alternatively, you can use the art as a digital offering by posting it on your tumblr altar captioned with a prayer, like @crazyskirtlady has here. Check out her page for more examples of techno witchcraft!
Mixed Media Altars
Notion
Notion is a great organisational app where you can add a mix of photos, gifs, text, embedded videos, music and playlists onto a page, making for a multi-media style altar. You can also store resource notes and links for any research you do.
@caduceussky and @arabellascraft were both kind enough to walk me through how they use their Notion altars!
@caduceussky has multiple different altars for different uses, like for deities and spirits, productivity, work-life balance, and prosperity spells that she uses in conjunction with physical altars, depending on convenience and her personal preference.
For deity/spirit work, she typically sets up her Notion altar first as a placeholder while she’s working on setting up a physical altar, then she treats it like a travel altar. She also use Notion for spell altars that have to do with work and study, since she uses her laptop for those, with separate pages set up for certain spells, sort of like digital spell jars.
For deity/spirit altars, she plays a devotional playlist while setting up the altar and adds a photo of a candle and photos of the deity/spirit or their associations like a collage. Digital offerings can go here, too, such as devotional writing or art. It can also be used as a journal to write her experiences and lessens she’s learnt from the deity/spirit.
For spell altars, she writes her intention at the top of the page, and any additional manifestations underneath. Similar to her deity/spirit altars, she includes photos of associations of the spell’s intentions, and sigils specific to the spell.
@arabellascraft uses her Notion altar for spontaneous rituals and spellwork as her physical altars are generally temporary. She meditates to her Notion altar or leaves a note, for example for gratitude.
She practices Irish folk traditions, one of which being having a moment of reflection and prayer when you first see the new moon of the month. Having her Notion altar in her pocket makes practicing this simple as it’s portable, however, one weakness is that there’s a lack of a physical connection. On the up side, the ability to embed playlists into Notion keeps her in the spiritual mindset rather than having to go back and forth in Spotify.
There’s about to be a Notion AI too, with the function of brainstorming assistance. This means you can type in something such as “What can I do to increase my mindfulness,” and a list of related answers and ideas will be produced, or “Write a poem about the God Apollo,” and the AI will generate one for you. You can join the waitlist here.
Phone App Altars
#Self-Care
This game includes a digital altar with a function to integrate your personal experiences by setting objects to a meaning, memory or realisation, like a journal. It also has organising functions to put objects away from you altar when you’re done with them and bring them back out when you’d like to display them again.
You can gain objects for your altar by performing in-game tasks like putting away laundry, fill-in-the-blank word activities with your choice of affirmations or life tips, simple puzzles, and gain tarot cards by picking a daily tarot card. You can also light a candle and type in an intention!
It does take a while to collect enough objects to display for a particular purpose, but if your digital altar is going to be your main altar, this one is a good long-term option.
The app is customisable to a certain extent with colours and designs, but some of the fancier stuff you have to pay for (like nicer backgrounds and patterns).
Here’s an image of my current altar on this app after about a week of use, along with an image of the main page.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Discord
On Discord, you can join a public server with custom categories to use as digital altars, such as this one by @homeiswherethehearthis. Alternatively, you can create a private server with chat rooms for various areas of worship and then post pictures/gifs and write prayers there.
With Discord altars, you can write messages to your deities, send them pictures, links to articles or books about them, as well as send them offerings of your creations. It’s a great way to have a massive private or shared space dedicated to your deity.
Further, you can add Discord bots that can do divination for you, as suggested by @lyresstrings in this post, such as a pendulumn bot, a daily tarot bot, or a horoscope bot. There’s even one that states the current moon phase!
Notes App
In the standard Notes app you can create folders for specific deities, and inside each folder, add notes daily, with images, links, song names and lists of correspondences to that deity. Further, you can write letters to your deity within the notes app, as well as intentions, wishes, and things you’re greatful for.
A great feature of this app is that you can actually lock your notes with a password just incase you’re worried about someone going through your digital altar.
This one is a good option to use in conjunction with a Collage altar if you make it your phone background.
Pinterest Shuffles
Pinterest Shuffles is a sister app of Pinterest, but instead of boards, it’s like scrapbooking. It’s an amazing tool for creative expression with a similar vibe to what Polyvore used to be.
The altars you can make with this are similar in concept to collage altars but the uses are specific to phones, meaning you can only make phone wallpaper images. With Shuffles, you can incorporate images directly from your Pinterest boards, which is great if you already have a deity board and want to condense it into a single image to set your wallpaper.
You can add text with intentions and prayers, or you can just use symbols of your deity of choice. I’d suggest making multiple of these, all with different intentions, so you can change your wallpaper based on what you’re asking of the deity for that day and worship on-the-go just by looking at your lock screen.
I made one as an example which you can view here. This is currently my home screen wallpaper! I added symbols of Saturn such as a clock, skeleton, herbs, capricorn, the world tarot card, the shrine of Saturn in italy, a crow, the number 3, karma, saturn-related texts, and my favourite images of Saturn.
Social Media Altars
Tumblr Blogs
This is probably the most common digital altar, mainly because of the massive witchcraft presence on Tumblr, and the ability to make multiple secondary blogs for each deity.
You can reblog general posts that remind you of your deity, images, gifs, spells, associations, prayers, emoji spells and more. However, are often considered to be more shrine-like activities. You can turn it into an altar by creating posts with digital offerings such as art and collages captioned with text spells, emoji spells, or prayers/worships (as inspired by @crazyskirtlady), or write poems for your deity.
Blogs are totally customisable, and you can change the designs with pictures, music, fonts and more. One important thing to note with secondary blogs is that you cannot initiate social functions like DMs, comments, even following and liking, and you can never change your secondary blog into a primary blog (trust me, I’ve tried. I made the mistake of making this account a secondary blog, now I can’t interact with any of you unless you reach out first).
The tagging system is a little weak though, and it can be difficult to search through all your posts and reblogs, so I suggest if there’s anything you want to keep track of, you have a separate space for it, such as on Notion.
Pinterest Boards
With Pinterest, you can create multiple boards for different deities or spirits, adding images that remind you of those beings from what others have posted. Finding inspiration is super simple! You can add images of representations of your deity, like food, clothes, crystals, art, sculptures, elements, animals, objects and more.
Instagram
In the same sense as creating a Pinterest board, you can dedicate an entire Instagram account to your deity. You don’t have to follow anyone, and can keep it on private, or you can share it publicly. You can post your offerings, photos of things you come across in every-day life like images of the sun, the ocean, trees, plants, bugs and more.
Be careful with this option, however, as you can’t just download photos from Pinterest and post them without credit. This option is more appropriate for art you’ve created yourself and documenting your experiences with captions, poems, emojis, short letters, gratitudes, and intentions.
Musical/Playlist Altars
Spotify
One post by @asatroende got me thinking about how apps like Spotify can be used as digital altars by creating playlists with songs you associate with a deity as a form of prayer. Some examples other than normal music includes subliminals, podcasts, instrumentals, and white noise sounds. If you add a short ambient candle sound in the middle of the playlist, this can aid in visualising a candle, making your prayer or offering, then it
You can add a picture of your deity as the album cover and add an intention or emoji spell in the description to customise it further. Spotify also allows you to make folders, and insert multiple playlists within those folders, which is great it you have multiple deities you’d like to make altars for.
An added bonus is that if you have a Notion altar, you can embed this playlist into it!
For my Spotify altar for Saturn, I added Sleeping At Last’s ‘Saturn’ from Atlas I, a 1:24 minute candle sound, then the planetary/space sounds recorded and posted by NASA called ‘Nasa - Saturn’. This way, I can get in the mindset, make my devotional prayer to the candle visualisation, then mediate to the sounds of Saturn for 30 minutes. I used an emoji spell as the description, and used an image of Saturn eclipsing as the cover.
Apple Music
I’m not a user of Apple Music, but I’m sure it can be used in a similar way to Spotify. If you have the free version, you can only add songs that you own to a playlists. To get around this you can use a youtube-to-mp3 converter to get ambient sounds, subliminals and more. However, this isn’t necessary, and you can just include music you own that reminds you of your chosen deity.
Virtual Reality Altars
Oculus
One last idea is if you have the technology and setup for it, you can create an altar in a VR game or space. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find any practical examples of this one.
—————————————
Special thanks
I’d like to give a big thank you to @gailcraft, @caduceussky and @arabellascraft for giving me permission to talk about their personal digital altars, and for providing me with information regarding them. A further thank you to @gailcraft for providing me with images to share with you all. Go check them out!
Here’s the explanation for baby withces:
Some people doubt the integrity of digital altars, however I believe they gain metaphysical energy as they’re created, which can be used for witchcraft. Think about emoji spells, for example!
Altars can be used for multiple purposes, for deities, patron planets, ancestors or general spirit work. Some people have one altar for everything, or separate their altars to keep these purposes separate, minimising the ‘cleansing’ you may have to do between each ritual.
Traditionally altars include tools to represent, the four elements, the cardinal directions, genders (although this is sort of being phased out), and offerings. The sub-categories of these are where you can get creative in the representations. More on that in a future post!

Description: The most loving thing one could do is cook for someone else. Ethan finds out it’s your love language.
Pairing: Ethan Landry x GN!Reader
Warnings: implication that reader is shorter than ethan, no ghostface, amber was reader’s ex but it’s only a small mention, lmk if there’s any warnings i should add !! there may be some errors since i only edited this once
Word Count: 3k
Author’s note: i wrote with a poc reader in mind, and much of reader’s experience with cooking is based off my own
Chad is starting to get worried. Exams are in a month, and even though everyone he knows is working hard to prepare, it’s like Ethan is studying as if exams are next week. Chad thinks he can even hear his roommate talking in his sleep sometimes.
He wakes up to Ethan being up at the crack of dawn, a large cup of coffee in hand and deeper bags under his eyes than yesterday.
So, yeah, it’s concerning.
He already tried to coax him into taking more care of himself, but Ethan waves it off. He’s tried other things: getting Sam to scold him, try to get him to go out and party so he’ll get tired, having Quinn threaten him.
If nothing happens, he may resort to putting sleeping pills in Ethan’s coffee.
However, there is one more thing.
You.
Ever since Ethan was introduced to the rest of his friends which included you, he’d been paying more attention to his appearance and how he’s perceived. At first Chad thought he might’ve had a crush on Tara, but Ethan slipped up one time when he not very casually asked if you were going to a group hangout, a few weeks ago.
Chad can use that knowledge to his advantage, he realizes.
Knowing you since freshman year of high-school, you’re a naturally caring person, though can be quiet or a little closed off especially since the Woodsboro murders in which you discovered that your ex-girlfriend was one of the killers.
Your gentle nature, along with his crush, can surely save Ethan from burning himself out so much that he’ll show up to finals only a skeleton, right? Hopefully.
Chad prays he’s right as he sends you a text, Friday evening.
Chad
Hey, can I ask a favor
                    depends
Might be a little weird but u know how ethan has been studying rly hard?
yeah u said u were worried. is he ok?
Yeah he’s fine mostly. Im just worried so Im asking if you can
like
Ask him to hang out or something
                    ? why
not that i would mind but why
Youre the one he would say yes to I already tried other stuff to get him to relax but man looks like hes about to pass out
Idk I have a feeling its more than about school but its not my place and I think he would open up to u
You know he has a crush on u right
i dont believe u but ill do it
Bro dont even act like u dont like him too
                      shut up
You roll your eyes at your phone, already coming up with a plan for a way to get Ethan to chill out. That’s when you think of it.
Ethan allows himself to sleep in during the weekends. But when he wakes up at 11 AM to a text from you that was sent at six, he immediately regrets it.
He opens his phone to read it.
hey i have this new recipe i wanna try but i need a second opinion
wanna come over after work? i get off at 5
He rubs his eyes, making sure he’s reading it right. You? Inviting him? To come over to your place alone?
He’s not proud of the way he gapes at the message for a long moment before he can answer, responding with a ‘sure!’ despite the word not conveying his excitement mixed with the worry at the pit of his stomach. Why are you inviting him alone? He can’t let himself think that it’s anything other than friendliness, right? But you only invited him, so it must mean something.
He rushes to his closet to pick out his outfit, already forgetting about the unfinished page of notes on his desk.
Ethan has known you for a good few months, since the beginning of the school year. But at this point, he’s memorized your smile and your voice, becoming less subtle as time goes on. He pays attention to every single thing you’ve said about yourself, including but not limited to how you almost went to culinary school. He remembers how you once baked a cake for Tara’s birthday, not only the batter from scratch but also the buttercream frosting. He smiles at the memory of you showing the group how to make pasta one night.
To say he’s excited is an understatement.
He doesn’t even bother getting his coffee this time so his breath doesn’t smell like it.
Chad notices that Ethan’s usual cup is still in the cupboard, mentally patting himself on the back for getting the idea to reach out to you.
It’s not long until it’s almost five, and Ethan is walking the few blocks over to your apartment, enjoying the wind. He knows not to show up empty handed, so he stops at a bodega to buy your favourite chips.
You‘d gotten home a little early due to your workplace not being too busy, thankfully. You start prep, laying out the ingredients. The knock from your door reaches your ears a few minutes later, and knowing it’s Ethan you open the door.
You’re greeted with a bag of chips to your face, taking it and seeing Ethan have a slight upturn at the corner of his lips. You mirror his expression, albeit with a wider smile (you can’t help it), letting him into your apartment. He sits down at the breakfast bar facing into the kitchen, while you stand on the other side facing him.
This isn’t the first time he’s been here, but it is the first time he’s here alone. With you. He tried to get rid of the images in his head of him being over at your place every day because you want him to be there. He can’t think like that, not now when you’re beaming up at him while you showcase the ingredients on the kitchen counter, your sentences going into one ear and out the other.
“…Ethan?” Your brows are furrowed, not knowing if he’s paying attention. You quickly catch that he’s not—he has to think for a moment about what to say.
“Uhm—“ he clears his throat. “Sorry, I wasn’t listening. What?” He mentally cringes at himself. He’s sure you’d think he’s not interested and oh god, what if you think he doesn’t want to be there?
You laugh lightly. “I said do you like steak? I mean, I probably should’ve asked, but—“ You’re glad he stops your ramble before it goes any further.
“I like it, don’t—don’t worry.”
“Okay, good. Because this would’ve been awkward.”
Ethan is determined not to let any weird silences happen, so he continues despite not knowing what to say. His curiosity gets the best of him. “Not that I don’t want to, but why did you invite me here? I mean…just me.”
You try to brush it off, coming up with an excuse. “I invited Tara, but she couldn’t make it.” You turn back to the ingredients to get started.
He’s glad you’re not facing him to see his shoulders practically deflate finding out that he’s not the first choice. He’s not sure why he got his hopes up so much.
Before he can say anything else, you interrupt his train of thought. “Wanna help?”
He stands up quickly, eager. “What do you need?”
Truthfully, you’d made this dish a thousand times before that you could do it in your sleep. You’re not about to try anything new when your main objective is to take Ethan’s mind off things.
“How are you with knives?” You ask, taking out a chef’s knife from the knife holder. His eyes widen, begrudgingly taking the object from your hand.
“This is gonna sound—nevermind,” He shakes his head.
“Tell me.”
“I’ve never had to…cook before.”
“Oh,” you sigh. “That’s fine. Do you not want the knife?”
“I do! I just—how do I use it?”
You smile, an image he wishes was burned into his mind. You slide the cutting board toward you, putting a handful of asparagus in the middle.
Ethan can’t help but stare at your hand at the way you delicately go through the motions of cutting, slowly to make sure he sees it. You show him how to trim the asparagus, and you give him back the knife to try.
A spark tingles throughout his hand when you put yours on it to guide him.
“Just trim all of these. Got it?”
He nods.
You prepare the steak on a separate cutting board alongside him.
“Can I ask why you’ve been studying so hard, E?”
The nickname isn’t lost on him, but he tries his best to ignore it before he accidentally cuts himself.
“Finals next month,” He says curtly.
“Is that the truth?”
“Does it matter?”
“It does to me. But I’m not trying to force you.”
He pauses. “Can we change the topic?”
You nod, “You pick. Turns out I’m terrible at conversation. Can you fill up a pot of water for the mini potatoes? And put some salt in it.”
“How long have you been cooking?” He puts the asparagus in the bowl they were previously in and doing as you say. With the way he gets the question out so fast, you’d think he’d been thinking about it.
“As a kid, I was around a lot of people who knew how to cook,” you begin while you prepare a pan on the stove, melting the butter. “I learned from them. International dishes, mainly. Lots of spices. But I moved to New York and started working in a kitchen when I was sixteen, so I learned about some European pastries and white people food.” You chuckle.
There’s something with the way you talk about food that makes his chest warm. It’s unfamiliar, but a welcome feeling nonetheless. It’s different from how you talk about other things—this one feels more intimate.
You continue. “I think you know, but I almost went to culinary school.”
He does know. He wonders why you didn’t go.
“I took cooking classes as an elective at my high-school. I was lucky they offered that. Senior year, I was a stage for some really pretentious restaurants—y’know, mainly as a server, but I got to know how the kitchen worked.”
He hasn’t even noticed that the butter is almost all melted on the pan and you’ve put some rosemary and thyme on it until you pause to turn to him.
You grab the cutting board with the steak on it, placing it next to the stove.
“They were the kinds of places that served small portions for high prices.” You stared at the stove, turning up the heat.
“Why didn’t you go to culinary school?” He timidly asks.
“The people,” You say it so quietly at first that he almost missed it. “I met people who made the kitchen pretty much unbearable. There was shouting…lots of it, actually. The crazy high standards. They didn’t shout at me, but seeing it from the sidelines was worse…somehow? I don’t know.”
He finds himself wanting to have a stern word with whoever made you feel that way about something you so clearly love.
He’s about to ask another question before you interrupt him.
You pick up the steak from the board, motioning for him to come closer. “Always lay away from you,” you say. “Otherwise you splash oil on yourself, ‘kay?”
He nods. He continues with his question. “Do you regret it?”
He doesn’t realize how heavy of a question it is until after he says it, and he’s going to retract his statement but you respond.
“No, actually, I don’t.”
There’s a sweetness in your voice that’s hard to catch, but for Ethan’s ears, it’s as if they’ve been attuned to your tone.
“If I went to culinary school, I would’ve started to hate it—“ You grab the tongs, using it to push the sides of the steak to the pan, “—That’s searing. You seal in the juices when the surface browns, see that?—“
When he nods, you proceed.
“I grew up believing that cooking was a way to care about people, you know? Like a love language. And If I made cooking my career, that’s not what it would be for me. Does that make sense?”
“Yeah, yeah. It does.”
Once all the sides are seared, you grab a spoon and you slightly tilt the pan, using the utensil to coat the steak in the melted butter. “That’s basting. So it doesn’t lose moisture. Every time you flip a steak, it loses moisture, so just do it once.”
He thinks he’s getting repetitive when he nods once more to show that he’s actually listening.
It’s not long until the steak is done, and he’s excited to get it on the plate but instead, you put it on a baking sheet and cover it in tin foil.
“You’re next.”
His head snaps up toward you, sputtering, “What?”
“Do you want to learn?”
“Yeah—“
“Then get to work.” You smirk, and he’d be lying if he said that didn’t awaken something in him. You point to the other steak in the packaging.
He tries to remember the steps you did, but you do have to remind him what to do occasionally.
You’re standing close to him, almost hovering, but he doesn’t mind one bit. In fact, he almost leans in instinctively when you bring your hand up to his face and pushes his curls out of his face.
“You’re doing good,” you whisper.
It takes everything inside him not to collapse right there. He’d give everything to feel your hand on his face again.
You’ve set two plates on the counter. The mini potatoes were boiled nicely, and you cut them swiftly in half (a feast for Ethan’s eyes). Ethan watches while you quietly as you carefully plate the food, and he can’t help but look around him. The used pan, the knives, cutting boards, you plating the food—there’s an element of domesticity.
It’s in the way you flash a smile directed at him and only him, in the comfort of your own home, after you’ve just cooked together. He imagines a future where it’s like this every night.
You open the fridge, grabbing out two sodas. As you turn around Ethan is surprisingly close to you.
Only a few inches away.
He slowly takes the cans from you, setting it on the space next to him. All as if he’s about to wake a sleeping dragon if he were to move too quickly.
“Why are you doing this?” He asks, almost in a pleading whisper. His eyes are boring into yours, and you can’t bring yourself to look away.
“I told you.” Your tone mirrors his. “Cooking is a way to take care of someone, and I care about you.”
He doesn’t know what possesses him to do the next thing.
He brings himself closer to you, not breaking the eye contact.
Suddenly, everything makes itself known. Your breathing, shallower than his, anticipating his next move. The way your clothes touch. The cold air coming from the fridge.
He brings his hand to touch your jaw, it’s a feather-like sensation as his digits make contact with your skin. “Is this okay?”
You gulp and nod, unable to find the words.
“Need to hear you say it.”
In the lowest whisper, “Yes.”
He lifts your chin, tilting his head.
It’s a tiny pause until you’re the one taking the leap, closing the small distance and slotting your lips against his.
Everything falls away, and nothing else matters. His lips are soft. You feel his large hands go to your neck and you wrap your arms around his torso, trying to get impossibly closer.
You’re the first to pull away and you grin when he chases your lips.
“Hi,” You beam. “W—what was that for?”
“You tell me,” he smiles.
You anticipate the night to end when you’re both finished the food and the drinks, and you’ve cleaned up the kitchen.
But neither of you want it to end.
You cross your arms, facing Ethan who’s reluctantly about to open the door.
“Wanna stay?”
He turns around, tilting his head like a cute puppy. “Thought you’d never ask.”
That’s how you found yourselves cuddling on the couch, a new show on your television.
“I have to tell you something,” you whisper, eyes still on the screen.
“Hm?”
“Chad told me to ask you to hang out.” You grimace. “And before you say anything, I didn’t invite you just because of him. I was worried about you too.” You look up at him, the proximity comfortable rather than awkward.
“I figured.”
“Really?”
His arm tightens around you. “When you asked me why I was studying so hard, I remembered Chad’s been trying to get me out of it. This was his last resort.”
You snort, “His last resort was putting sleeping pills in your coffee.”
“I’m…gonna have to talk to him about that.”
“Can I ask why you’re studying?”
“To distract myself.”
You almost sit up. “From what?”
“Not tonight.” He lays your head against him again, and your trust is in his hands. “Someday.”
And someday, he’ll tell the story about how the week before, he realized he loved you. It scared him so much that it kept him up for days, but the night you kissed would be the day his worries all went away.

What are they hiding? 💗trigger warning💗
Pile 1-(The Sun rx, The Hanged Man rx, Death rx, The Magician rx, King of swords, 5 of pentacles, 3 of pentacles, 9 of pentacles, Page of pentacles, 10 of pentacles) 🩷zodiac confirmations: aquarius, 5, venus
This could be an off-and-on connection. I'm gonna be honest, this person feels stuck in this connection or like they can't escape you. You could feel the same. There's something here about money that they're hiding. Were you supposed to receive a gift from them? This person hasn't been very forthcoming with their feelings, even if it seems like they have. I feel like this person can be manipulative at times, and this causes a lot of miscommunication between you two. They may be a bit more detached as of late. For some of you, this person may be planning a way to escape this connection for good. For others, they could be spending their time with someone else.
Pile 2-(King of wands rx, The Lovers rx, The Hierophant rx, The Devil rx, Knight of cups, The Moon rx, Ace of swords, Justice, The High Priestess) 🩷zodiac confirmations: gemini, 12, sun
This could be a friend that you have a crush on. This person might come off to you as a prince charming. In reality, this person doesn't want you to see through their cracks. I'm reading the justice card and the girl is literally wearing a blindfold in the picture. This person may have certain interests or hobbies that you would probably be turned off by. You wouldn't be very impressed with who they really are. I get a very obsessive energy from this person. They may have violent tendencies as well. They've definitely got some skeletons in their closet. I feel like this person likes to keep a string of partners. Like they can't settle down to save their life. Honestly, this person is nothing but trouble. They know you're not a dummy tho. So, they know it's only a matter of time before you truly figure them out.
💖channeled song: in this darkness by clara la san
Pile 3-(10 of wands, 5 of wands, 4 of cups, 2 of cups, 5 of cups, 5 of pentacles rx, 2 of swords, Queen of pentacles, 3 of swords rx, 6 of cups, The Devil) 🩷zodiac confirmations: cancer, 4, saturn ⭐angel number 555
This could be a situationship. Your person views this connection as a burden. They could be starting arguments with you or flaunting other romantic connections in your face. This is all for your attention babe, especially if you've been ignoring them. Your person is disappointed in the way this connection turned out. I think they expected things to go farther between you two. There's a lot of contemplation. Like "should i stay or go?" Ultimately tho, I think you both know that nothing will really blossom from this connection. Also, this person is still heavily attached to their past. It seems like there's a specific person or even people that they're still not over. For some of you, your person is even holding out hope for their ex to return. You should also know that this person falls into temptation pretty quickly. They likely succumb to their desires with no regrets. Very much like they wanna have their cake and eat it too with you. Watch your back with this one.
💖channeled song: like a tattoo by sade
Pile 4-(6 of cups, 6 of swords, 8 of cups, 5 of cups, 2 of cups rx, 9 of cups rx, 7 of swords, 10 of swords rx, 9 of swords, Ace of Wands rx, 5 of swords rx, 6 of pentacles, The Fool rx, The Hermit) 🩷zodiac confirmations: pisces, 4, jupiter ⭐angel number 666
This is definitely someone from your past. For some, this was an off-and-on relationship. For others, this was a situationship. Ya'll could live at a distance from one another. This person really wants to repair and make things right with you. They want to come and see you. I see that they're in a lot of despair over the connection. They wish to come back and have a more balanced relationship with you. But they also know they really fucked up with you. This person could've been really sneaky with you or they put you in a lot of messed up situations. It seems like they were just very mean to you at times. This person feels guilty for how they treated you. They literally sabotaged the connection tho...repeatedly. You might've said or done something that really humbled this person. It's forced them to do a lot of self-reflection. This person feels like they've lost their mojo. They're not passionate about what they love anymore. I'm gonna be honest, this person may try to come back because they're bored and they need that spark back. They feel like they will benefit from your energy. Pls leave this person in the dust pile 4, they deserve it. 🙂

The Facade of Iron Circus Comics and Spike Trotman
I feel like this needs to get some more traction on social media…
#comicsbrokeme trended recently, with comics creators and artists telling horror stories of extreme low wages, cruel bosses, and the constant struggle to make ends meet.
One company, and one person came up in an alarming amount of posts… Iron Circus Comics and its founder, Spike Trotman.
What Trotman has been accused of is not just run of the mill mismanagement or low wages, though they are infamous about underpaying and missing payment dates. They will actively and precisely bully, berate, and mentally destroy creators working under them. Trotman uses their clout as an internet famous comics publisher to keep people in line, and a recurring threat that if creators ever spoke out, Spike would sic their fans on them.
If you ever wondered why so many creators from Slipshine and Iron Circus up and vanished, THIS IS WHY. Several artists and creators have said that Spike Trotman sapped them of their desire to make comics.
This is downright sociopathic behavior to be sure. But then one starts digging into Spike Trotman’s past, and there’s a lot of skeletons in the closet. Squee Rat and Darth Versace were their previous handles on the internet. Squee Rat may sound familiar to people who have heard of the ‘Burned Furs’ movement.
Burned Furs was a puritanical, homophobic, transphobic offshoot of the furry fandom, founded by Spike Trotman, who also wrote the ‘Furry Manifesto’, which outlined their goals of getting rid of pornography, degeneracy, and expression of sexuality in the furry community. They distributed pamphlets at cons encouraging ‘degenerates’ to kill themselves.
Tumblr media
A very inconvenient past to have when your brand is leftist and sex positive. Spike very much knows this, and they have tried to scrub all evidence of their past as Squee Rat from wikis and articles about Burned Furs.
Right now, Spike is hoping that this all dies down. In fact, they just had a big party for the success of the Lackadaisy cartoon pilot.
Especially ironic given that Spike once encouraged people to eat one meal a day to make ends meet in the comics industry.
What you can do is make sure this reaches the eyes and ears it needs. Find the dissenting voices against Spike and Iron Circus, and boost them as much as you can.
They shouldn’t be able to hide behind this facade and continue to hurt people.

🍂 PAC Reading: Catharsis 🍂
Hey everyone!
October 2023 was a SHIT month for me. That eclipse season took a major toll on my mental and physical health. I hope you all had an easier time, and if you didn't, trust that you're not alone and I send you all the love you may need at this time 💛
Here's a spread I attempted from Lightwands tarot's Tiktok page on helping with catharsis, ie., helping you pin down and let go of some negative thoughts that may have been living in your head rent-free.
I intend this to be a timeless reading. Take a deep breath and clear your mind. Then pick the picture that you feel most drawn to. If you feel drawn to more than one, feel free to read those piles. If you feel drawn to none, perhaps I don't have a message for you at this time, but hope to have something for you in the future!
Going from left to right, we have piles 1, 2, and 3.
Tumblr media
I'd love to hear some feedback! I'm also open for paid personal readings ($3 flat-rate).
Pictures used are not mine.
My kofi ☕
Pile 1
Tumblr media
A pressing thought on your mind: King of Cups
Okay this is definitely about a boy. You may be overthinking/obsessing over a connection right now. Perhaps you have this person up on a pedestal and you think they're the best romantic match you could possibly ever have and that being chosen by them would be the best thing to ever happen to you. And maybe that's true. But you have to remind yourself that if you're begging to be chosen, that takes away significantly from your power, and most stable, secure men will want someone that matches them in their power. Some of you may be thinking that this guy has 2 options they're struggling between. For some of you, this may be an ex that you're seeing move on and, frankly, it hurts. If that's the case, I feel you.
Allow the tarot deck to describe the thought back to you in a softer voice: The Emperor
I think you need to remember that there is a bit of logic to relationships as well. Love isn't enough; you do have to think about the kind of life that's possible with your potential partner. You also need to remember that people feel and use their emotions differently than you. Your person may be at a stage where they're approaching partnership more logically. They may be thinking of compatibility in a more mature way at this point. This is a shift that started quite prominently during the pandemic, with casual dating taking a dip in our society. This person may also just be quite exhausted and have decided to just settle down. Love, at some stage, becomes more of a decision than a feeling, and that's where this person is right now. Remember that this is a window into their thought processes, not a judgement on you.
How you're approaching the thought: Justice
You may be self-flagellating a bit, thinking that the reason you're having such a hard time in love and life is because of some of your past mistakes or some karmic debt. And maybe this is true, because we all have karmic debt from this life and from the ones before. Every single person you know has made errors, and more people than you think have skeletons in their closets. We're all a little toxic. It's just the reality of life. And that's okay. That's life (tangent: watch Fleabag!) Maybe it's a little less serious for you and you feel like you're just not enough, or that you just messed up your chance with this person. But ask yourself as objectively as possible, did you? Did you, really? Doesn't this guy have flaws too? Is it possible that neither you nor him are the issue here, but it's really just the relationship/situationship that may not have been a good fit? Maybe you both just weren't mature enough for each other at the time? Maybe it was meant to be temporary? Maybe there were external factors at play? But more importantly, maybe it's not your problem to solve?
How can you release the thought without needing to resolve it right now: Queen of Swords
Step into your power. Get some fresh air. Literally. You've closed yourself in a box. You need to step out and realize how vast the sky really is. How big the world really is. How big your world really is. There needs to be perspective change for you. And you don't need to do this alone. We need community more than ever now. Find a therapist, a trusted friend, maybe even a sibling that keeps it real with you and is genuine. You don't need to find the love of your life, or figure out what this person means for you, if they're a karmic/twin flame/soulmate/what have you right this minute. You don't. Trust me, you don't. Do you want to get asked out/married this very minute? Of course not. It really isn't woo-woo nonsense when people say that what's meant to be, will be. Think of all the times you wanted a situation to play out a certain way and it didn't. It probably worked out better, if you're being honest with yourself. Let go. Let the Universe do what it needs to do. Maybe this will help: The Universe put you in this situation, so let it sort it out. This is the Universe's problem now. You're just the actor. It's the show writers that need to sort this out now. Just vibe in the meantime lol.
Let the thought say one last goodbye: 9 of Swords
Your pain is not for nothing. This will be different for different people, but maybe the pain is to ground you. Maybe it's to prevent you from self-sabotaging in the future. Maybe it's to get you to see the reality of this person. Maybe it's to get you to see the reality of yourself. Maybe this is how you repay some karmic debt (in which case, yay! Lighter times ahead!) Maybe this is a sign you may have some unresolved trauma that needs to be removed from your mind and body, and is to show you that you're closing in on a breaking down point and need to love yourself enough to tend to it. Maybe it's bits and pieces of everything mentioned above. Maybe it's just none of these, and you're letting seasonal depression get the best of you. Believe it or not, sadness is vital in life. It's a necessary emotion. If you feel the need to wallow, by all means go ahead. And when it's time, let yourself stop. It's okay. You're okay. And it'll all be okay. You are worthy of love.
Oracles: Patience; Bring love into the situation (New Moon in Aquarius)
Work on detaching yourself from this situation. Your specific/personal situation will come from thinking outside the box. Be more pragmatic. Improve your karma by doing charitable work.
Pile 2
Tumblr media
A pressing thought on your mind: The Lovers (and The Hermit for clarification)
Alright, so this pile is also thinking about love. But you guys have a lighter energy than Pile 1. Or maybe you're a Pile 1 coming back to this reading after some time. You've probably been single for a while, and have done some extensive soul-searching and inner work, and now perhaps an inner voice is telling you that you're ready to put yourself out there again. And the energy coming through is yes! Yes, you are ready! But since it's been a while, and given the state of the streets, you're apprehensive about how to put yourself out there, and if you even should yet. Some of you may even be thinking of those Tiktoks that tell you how awful partners (particularly men) can be, and you're (rightfully) a bit scared.
Allow the tarot deck to describe the thought back to you in a softer voice: 8 of Pentacles
You've been hard at work with your personal growth and self-concept, and it radiates in your aura now. You've been diligent and have paid attention to the details. There's no such thing as a perfect person, of course, but you've done commendable work to get to as perfect as you can be in this stage of your life. Look at you go, you little rock-star! You need to watch out for black-and-white thinking, both directed at your own self and at others. Just because there may be a few things you're still working on, doesn't mean you're not ready. And the same goes for people you may meet soon, or for those that you're already considering. In fact, it shows self-awareness that you/the other person is cognizant of their flaws and still putting themselves out there because not all healing occurs inside. We all need people, and that's not a flaw. It's okay to be apprehensive. Be aware of the risks but don't let them consume you.
How you're approaching the thought: The High Priestess
You may be scouring Tumblr or Tiktok or wherever for readings and signs to foresee who you need to engage with next, what signs to look for, how it's all going to play out. It's like you want a blueprint of the entire love story beforehand because you're determined to find the one next. No more games for you. No more delays. You're ready and you want your future now. Love that for you, queen! But don't let it overconsume you! Micromanaging your love life isn't the best way to go about it. You know this, c'mon!
How you can release the thought without needing to resolve it right now: The Magician
Manifestation is real. But it's real for everyone, not just you. Imagine you're driving and you're manifesting going right, but so is another person, and fate may look at this and decide, okay, one of these needs to detour to avoid a collision, and maybe it picks you? Shit example, but I hope you get what I'm saying. It's good to be specific in your manifestations but not too specific, you know? Think of the burnt toast theory. Most of them there's a reason behind why things happen the way they do. Sometimes it's an important reason, and sometimes it's just random and meaningless. You seem to be approaching dating in a very Virgo-like way at this time, and essentially the message here is to not be too calculating and strategic. Keep your wits and lessons with you, of course, but don't forget that the Universe is also a player here.
Let the thought say one last goodbye: Ace of Pentacles
Your future partner is going to come to you like a gift or an offering. For some of you, that's where the delay is - the Universe is packaging them up perfectly for you and you just need to wait until it's time lol. The Universe and your spirit guides have been hard at work helping you heal and polish and be ready for love, and they're not going to just give you out to a random, okay? Have faith. Express gratitude constantly. And just affirm that love is here and your steps are guided. Dating apps may be the way for some of you. One or two of you may have luck bumping into someone at work or at the gym. Also hearing a beloved bar for someone. But for the majority, it's a highly personalized way that you'll meet the one. Ultimately, though, don't think too hard about it.
Oracles: Purification; Confidence is your key to success (New Moon in Leo)
There you have it. You've been purified enough to put yourself out there again. You're ready. Whether this be through apps, networking, or just living your life, do it with confidence and carry the intention with you to find your best match without chasing.
Pile 3
Tumblr media
A pressing thought on your mind: Queen of Pentacles
This pile's conundrum seems to be family dynamics. Maybe you're in a sticky situation at home, where you can't afford to move out and you've either outgrown your home environment, or it's getting toxic. But you may not have the funds/resources to leave. And you feel like you're being smothered but you also would feel guilty if you were to leave. For some, you may not need to leave but you feel like there's undue pressure coming from your family whenever you go to make decisions, be it financial, education-related, relationship-related, or what have you. Getting heavy 'eldest child of immigrant parents' energy here. Maybe you don't feel your age because you feel like you don't have the freedom and independence you'd assumed you would have at this point. Some of you were even parentified as kids and it's starting to come to the fore-front. For some, this extends to friends and you feel like you've outgrown them, or just need more friends, but again, you're in a box.
Allow the tarot deck to describe the thought back to you in a softer voice: Knight of Cups
Some of you may daydream of a Prince Charming coming and saving you from this environment. This is especially true if the 'eldest daughter' thing applies to you and one of the only acceptable ways in your family for you moving out and starting your own life is to get married. And maybe that is what will happen for some of you. But don't depend on it as the only way. It will happen if it's meant to happen, but when we attached too much stake to one specific outcome, we pour too much of our power into it, and the Universe doesn't like that. It's okay to pray and manifest a particular outcome but detachment is a key factor in manifestation, remember that. One of the easiest ways out of this energy is just getting your license and a car, you know? You don't have to wait for a ride, you can be the driver. Even getting a pet is a good way to get out of the house more (plus, that would divert your family's attention and ease the tensions around the house).
How you're approaching the thought: 3 of Pentacles
You probably vent to your friends or siblings a lot. You prioritize working (maybe even working overtime) and saving up money. You might also be pursuing higher ed to better your career. It's definitely a good step! Just be aware of your social and personal needs and realize that there's multiple gardens within you that need watering. If the immigrant thing resonates with you, this is especially important. Do not let work and money consume you because hard work, as sad as it is to say, does not always lead you to where you need to go. You need to be a whole person, not just a worker. Think about it, how logical is it to water your 'money' garden and expect your 'personal' garden to bloom if you don't tend to it as much? Don't let burnout ruin your senses.
How you can release the thought without needing to resolve it right now: The Fool
It's your first time being you. And it's also your parents' first time being them. Be as empathetic and compassionate as you can be with yourself and your family without self-sacrificing. There's internal knowledge you came here with that you can access through meditation. Reconnect with your inner voice and let it help you. Don't hold on to resentments, whether internal or external. Don't be so hard on yourself, and when faced with arguments at home, try to separate the actions from the doer. Everyone has their own traumas and vices that they unintentionally hand over control to. Don't rush things. Make an inner sanctuary for yourself and believe that things will work out. The dog/pet message is coming through again lol so if that's a possibility, please go for it! And whenever you feel helpless, remind yourself that you're not supposed to have all the answers just yet. Most successful people, when asked, say the same. They had the vision and they had the grit, but they didn't always have all the steps laid out and blind confidence.
Let the thought say one last goodbye: 4 of Wands
Everything will work out. Trust. Please, just trust. For those of you that resonated with the Prince Charming message, this is confirmation that that will happen. You'll meet the man of your dreams, and leave your current surroundings for the home and life for your dreams. This isn't meant to push you to place all your faith into a savior coming, thus disempowering you, but this message should push you to instead hold on to your power, and keep tending to all your gardens equally in the meantime. You've been through a lot, and it wouldn't be fair to the old versions of you that lead you here to give up now. It gets steeper the higher you go on a mountain. But at this point, you're also stronger. Believe that. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
Oracles: Courage; Your hard work is paying off (New Moon in Capricorn)
Don't be too controlling, and limit your exposure to anyone who is too controlling. Stay ambitious and courageous. Recognize and reward yourself for all the hard work you've done. See yourself as a person and not a project. Your life may not have been a fairy tale, but your fairy tale moment is coming.
I hope you found a message here today! And if not, I hope to have a message for you next time. Wishing you all love, light, and success! ❤️
