actively just BG3. in the past, Star Wars, and a couple of extremely random, disparate things exclusive to my desktop

lmao I only HAVE five but A Little Further has the crown!

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

oh god, I'm sorry, I do reply to a few here and there especially when I see direct questions for me, but honestly I just feel so awkward bc all I can think to say is "thank you!" with varying numbers of exclamation points. and I am extremely blessed in that recently a lot tend to come at once and I feel terrible that I don't have the brain capacity to give everyone a proper reply

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

of the fics I HAVE ended (slides down in chair), I don't think any of them are angsty! I will do some bittersweetness, but honestly, I like a generally happy ending. I like to include angst, but resolve it - even if the resolution is in a next part in a series

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I guess that'd have to be find a thread to pull, and we can watch it unravel. takes place post victory against the First Order (in a pre-TLJ AU setting) so everything being resolved is just FEELINGS (and we all know how we resolve FEELINGS in this house)

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I did actually get I think literally my first purely vitriolic comment the other day (again, I am DEEPLY fortunate) but honestly it didn't sound like they even read the fic it was left on? I guess I was just overdue for the experience lmao

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

yes ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) but uhhhh what kind...I'm not sure how I'd categorize it? I guess my aim is for it always to be predominantly romantic, but I will go where the wind takes me in a particular scene

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

nope!

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I don't think so?

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

yes, just one! I wish I could find it but someone translated find a thread to pull, and we can watch it unravel.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I haven't! and unfortunately I would not wish me as a writing partner on my worst enemy lmao, I'm simply way too slow

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

it's always hard to see beyond the current obsession, but reylo and spuffy are soooo dear to me

15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I feel particularly bad about survival season because I was in the home stretch, but man, when the inspiration dies it really dies

16. What are your writing strengths?

I want to say/dialogue banter, especially big group scenes, because that's when it really feels FUN for me and I accidentally go into a trance and do 1700 words of just conversation

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

other than being sloooooooooooow (700 words is a GREAT full day of writing for me), I cannot stick to an outline for the goddamn life of me. I really try and DO outline/summarize future chapters, but in the midst of a chapter suddenly something else will grab hold of me and I realize I actually need to write the complete opposite thing happening

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

oh I'm not remotely up to that task

19. First fandom you wrote for?

babes, it was Teen Titans. and NATURALLY I had an OC that joined the team and whom I (gasp) also freely used in half-baked X-Men stories. 10-year-old me had zero concept of the Marvel/DC divide and honestly I was happier for it

20. Favorite fic you've ever written?

I think A Little Further. that one kind of gave me my confidence back and in my head it's permanently associated with that "oh god why am I so obsessed with this FICTIONAL MAN" energy that gets you through the tough times

Ok so I scroll down on your account and read from the last thing I liked on your blog each day, so apologies if someone already said this, I haven't caught up yet and I'll forget if I don't write this down.

Also, Sorry if I just took what you and the asker was saying and just reworded it, I'm tired and I barely comprehended what was being said.

ANYWAYS

So referring to this ask, I thought, "What if Warren was a part of the love cu- *ahem* "club" for a long while and had a sort of mission to go recruit some other people."

He stumbles across Lily and Todney and thinks "Well, this is good enough", and starts interacting with them so he can uh... "smoothly" slide in the question of them joining. This takes a few days, so they all bond and get to know their stories and such. Once Warren asks the big question, they have no idea what they are getting themselves into, but they heard "love" and "family", so they're all in.

Warren grows to actually like them and enjoys their company. He learns of their home situation and is... frankly a little concerned. But he's gotta focus on bringing them to Shrigs and Malcolm.

Once he brings them over, him and Shrigs talks about initiation and celebrating and stuff while Lily and Todney become fast friends with SO.

I'm getting lazy on ideas so stuff happens, Warren ends up finding out about the marriage thing, thinks "this whole situation is NOT very cash-money", and just bails with all three of the kids.

For some extra spice, I'd like to think that Shrigs is basically hunting them down to 1) Find his daughter and 2) to kill Warren for taking his sorta child away with no warning. I'd like to think that on that journey, Shrigs thinks a whole lot about SO and it kinda sinks in for him like, "damn, I care about this kid more than I thought" (like, in a father/ daughter type way) and he reflects on what he's noticed with SO and how she must be feeling and starts to actually question Malcolm.

For some MORE spice, the twins family is after them too, not out of much care or concern, but because they need the twins to find new mothers in order to get the family discount. So if they get their hands on the twins... they'll probably not be able to leave the house to get new mothers ever again. And they will kill Warren, like, for real. No hesitation.

So yea all four of them are on the run.

Then Shrigs could find them all, have a talk with SO, everyone makes up, blah blah blah, then the twins family shows up and it's like a final showdown. I'd honestly think that Warren and Shrigs would put up somewhat of a fight, but then Shrigs gets hurt real bad or something and they all just flee.

They're all just sorta... constantly on the run for a while, since Shrigs is having a hard time dealing with all of these emotions about Malcolm and he feels like he is unworthy of going back, Warren doesn't have an actual place to stay, and the kids have nowhere to go.

Eventually they do live somewhere but man I'm just here for the angst and redemption arks, I'm not good with coming up with happy endings, y'all gotta do that for yourselves XD

But anyways I'm so sorry this is loooooong.

(Idk where to put this but I HC that Shrigs is homophobic, but because he's just uneducated, not out of pure hatred. When he gets use to it and learns about the LGBTQIA+ community, then he'll be either and ally or he'll realize he's actually pan.

Also In that whole story, I saw Warren as a teenager (around 15-17 idk), not an adult. And idk about Shrigs but he's pretty young too, probably 19-21ish. Maybe a little bit older.

And this wasn't suppose to be a ship thing with any of the characters mentioned!)

✨ monthly recap ✨

I'm totally replicating this idea from Lindie Botes because I need to have some place to hold me accountable to my studying.

I graduated university more than a year ago and since then my foreign languages have been going 📉📉📉

this month

I studied a grand total of 19 hours and 58 minutes this month... I'm a disgrace💀

some wins on april:

💌 decided to start a twitter (@/wonie_polyglot if you wanna follow me there) dedicated to my language learning, which was a huuuuge step for me. This tumblr thing came afterwards bc I like to write ✨long posts✨.

💌 finally found some materials for French that I feel comfortable with c:

🦉current duolingo streak : 12 days (had to restart it bc I'm dumb and forgot about it🙃)

✨ français ✨

I was feeling pretty down with it at the beginning of the month. I tried to use the book I bought for university, but the app and website were pretty shitty, so I had no real access to the audio files or the answer key.

Then I found the glorious Progressif du Français series. I started with Orthographe Progressif du Français et Grammaire Progressif du Français, both in niveau débutant, just to start getting back on track.

I also got Short Stories in French for Beginners. I haven't started it yet, but it looks pretty promising!

I'll also try to get into some series on Netflix for some immersion sessions!

Similar to French, I wanted to use up the books I bought for school, but with these I actually was able to get the audio files, answer keys, and some extra worksheets!

I'm using Bild für Bild Deutsch Sprachkurs (very useful if you're self-learning, grammar points come in English) and studio d, and so far so gut!

I also started watching Dark on Netflix. My plan is to watch it like three times. First with English subtitles or (if I can get to a pc) with a chrome extension that allowes me to have dual subtitles. Then with only German subtitles, and one final time without any subtitles.

I have a lot of resources for Korean (mostly Talk to Me in Korean, but also some from Yonsei, Ehwa, etc). I think I'm trying to overcompensate because Korean is the only language where I haven't had any formal learning done before.

Right now I'm on the Level 1 TTMIK Textbooks, along with Korean Grammar in Use and 비타민 한국어. Plus Real-Life Korean Conversations for Beginners, Easy Korean Readings for Beginners, My First 500 Korean Words (all three form TTMIK), and the Soo&Carrots' 100 Day Korean Vocab Challenge (not doing it daily just here and there).

I also have one of the Yonsei Reading workbooks that I'm looking to integrate into my "routine".

next month

I'm nervous because May is a very holiday heavy month in my country, and my family likes going out on road trips and such, which means I'm most likely not gonna stick to the schedule I'd like to...

goals for may:

Create an on-the-go routine so I can still study whilst traveling.

Solidify my resources lists for German and French.

Come up with some sort of "cycle" so I always have something to do next (I tend to procrastinate by "planning" my study sessions).

Complete one "unit" of my Korean study each week (one lesson from the TTMIK Textbook and Workbook, one reading from the Easy Readings book, one dialogue from the Real-Life Convos book, and one day of the Korean Vocab book).

Hm, hm, hm I'm gonna go with San I think, I need to pay him so respects I've been neglecting him for a while - haven't read any San fics in a looooong time, but I'm gonna be honest I usually just read for Hwa only 💀 sometimes Hongjoong and Yeosang, but there aren't many Yeo fics that suit my fancy I also can't take Hongjoong seriously sometimes when people write him as very dominant, because he's smol to me. 🥴

Those stans are OBSESSED and so weird, I have them all blocked but people still spread their photos and videos. Even yesterday some Korean fans flew to attend the Madrid FS. LET THEM LIVE?! 1. What's your favourite kind of fic to write.

Probably mutual pining but I've recently realised I have a knack for smut 🤭

2. What fic of your was the hardest to write?

Probably one of the hundreds I left unfinished. I'm undecided between "The Most Precious Thing In The Universe" (DW) and "As long as the sea is bound to wash upon the sand" (mdzs daemon au) which wasn't hard per se but so long it was still harrowing.

3. Which was the easiest?

Maybe one of my DW oneshots.

4. Favourite story you've ever written?

As long as the sea is bound to wash upon the sand, 100%.

5. Do you write from start to finish or do you hop around?

Start to finish. I might only draft some scenes if I fear I could get stuck on them or just I don't want to write them atm.

6. Have you ever deleted a published fic?

No.

7. What's the best writing advice you've ever received?

After you've written your chapter, copy it on a new sheet and type it all over again instead of just correcting it. It will improve 100%.

8. What's the worst?

Do people give bad advice? I think it depends on what works for you.

9. Have you ever collabed with a another writer?

Yes! We wrote a comic crackfic with final fantasy's characters. Soooo many years ago. It was hilarious.

10. How many WIPs do you have right now?

So. TECHNICALLY one, since I'm finishing writing "As long as the sea is bound to wash upon the sand". If we consider two fics I have on hiatus... then three. But I have like 6 plot bunnies running wildly in my head atm.

11. Story you are most proud of?

Maybe "I've hungered for your touch". My first smut. My first fic in English. And a lot of people liked it ❤

12. Favourite story of another author?

I'm going to be here all day!!! There is so many... I'll focus on mdzs fic since I've been reading those lately (bc you have NO idea of the number of fic I've read in my life). Beneath six layers of silk by darkredloveknot; Maybe you're the reason by clearpearls; no new age by everythingispoetry; Survival by jinko. And so much more. There are so many talented author out there 😭

Listen. It's hard enough writing my own fics. Should I write someone else's? But of I could FORCE a writer to finish their own stories it would be "Maybe you're the Reason" by clearpearls, the "Yin and Yang" series by Milk_Tea_Fantasy, "Survival" and "Power Addict" by Jinko.

Generally, no.

First I should write something that is not fanfic.

24. How long have you been a writer? I think I started when I was in middle school. I wrote occasionally up to 2010 more or less... 10 years of hiatus and now I'm back all thanks to The Untamed.

Tierfal writing style, for sure. And all the bottom!sub!lwj I read shaped the way I write Lan Wangji.

26. Hardest part of writing?

Finding a way to make the sentences flow smoothly.

Is there an easy part? Deciding what should happen, probably.

Seeing your vision coming to life.

Here's something else

Well this is fun it's now almost 4:30AM!

This is on and it's kinda depressing from old memories but it's nice. I've just woken my parents up by crawling up the hallway to get to the bathroom BC I needed to go to the toilet but I was loud and I didn't mean to be it was just the boots and if you've ever been up in the night then you've 'tip toed' places and as I've explained I can't even stand so that was made hard and crawling was loud so don't try that if you're thinking of using it. I've solved a couple of puzzles and now idrk what to do but listen to music and vent about how I hate but also like paracetamol extra and I'm really sensitive to caffeine before you say I'm a lightweight I'm not a coffee drinker I prefer tea and yeah it's not fill of caffeine so I have no tolerance. But yeah I'm sat in bed listening to Spotify and thinking about how I'm missing more school but you know what screw it is mean there's nothing that I can do about it now and I'll end up catching up later I'll be fine it'll just be a heavy Saturday. Also I forgot to say earlier if it is what the spine surgeon suggested then it could take surgery which really is not good BC even though it's not very invasive it still is a little invasive and it has its risks and if I didn't get it with the NHS then that'll be very very very expensive BC you know it's pricey private but well worth it BC I need to get this sorted by it's knocking the shit out of me at the moment. Oh well I guess this is all I can do for the moment. Bless my dad he's been on the phone lots and trying to get me the next appointment ASAP but idk how long it'll be we should get a phone call tomorrow (today but if I fall asleep it'll be tomorrow BC it's 4am in the morning 12-11-19) and ooh it's A's birthday!! Yeah I should text him.

Anyways where was I oh yeah basically the person we saw first privately was a spinal surgeon BC we thought it was to do with our spine but here's the kicker... It wasn't so now we have been reffered to the next person and today we found out that he doesn't deal with children which is really weird bc im 15 and fully grown almost as a man well my feet are fully grown at least. But yeah so now we're trying to get to another person who can help but that's the story so far and if we could have done anything quicker we would have. I got my MRI on a disc also it came when I was ill Friday last week which is really cool they look awesome and I also have my feet which I haven't seen anyone about yet so yeah if there's a orthopaedic Doctor out there who reads MRIs and deals with children that'd be awesome but yeah it's specialist and it's annoying BC I'm slightly worried that we won't get someone to see me quickly but it should be ok it will be ok. I feel sorry for the people around me more than me I'm literally being waited on I'm experiencing what it is like to be my bother right now that's funny (he never does anything) but still it's a lot of pressure on my family and ontop of all this since close friends are going through a tough time and that's going to be a bit overwhelming for everyone but it should be ok I mean worst case scenario I'll just wheel around the house and help out where I can but it's really hard to do that because even though I live in a bungalow which is amazing can I say and some of it is more open planned it's also really awkward to get into my room, bathroom, utility room, spare room and out of the house that's one thing I really miss that I cannot do normal things that other people can you really don't realise the amount of things I can't do anymore. I was ok with sitting out of PE or doing things that wasn't running (4 months ago I could easily stand and walk mostly) but now I can't do that at all it's just too bad. I can't go into town to meet people and for the most part they have to come to me. I haven't left the house in 3 days since I went to a party and that was hard with the codiene - also there's an update on that I'll say in a minute yeah an update within 3 Hours of rambling but I just forgot to say I'll explain in a minute - but yeah I was shattered like almost falling asleep on the sofa shattered which for me is impressive BC I used to not sleep well and I got by with lots of sugar in my system.

Now back to the medicine/drugs. The medicine I'm taking isn't fully effective BC codiene is not an anti inflammatory which isn't what would help tarsal tunnel (js all of my symptoms fit it and this was before I heard of it I'm not saying it is it it just gives me a smidge of hope that this shit show might soon come to a close) so it'll stop me feeling shattered if I stop taking those but I can keep my naproxen and amitriptyline so I might trial that BC I feel like crap with or without the painkillers but feeling tired is rubbish also so I'll just give it a go. I hope there's no withdraw from codiene like ik I'm not addicted but just wonder BC it's really strong. Oh well it'll be fine I'm sure. I'll continue this rambling soon.
