Snapshot Aesthetics
OKAY BUT FG WEEKEND? WHO’S CRAZY IDEA WAS THAT.
You better know I want to participate though xD I didn’t plan to have an entry for today but, well, things change lol
Day 1: Outfits
Rating: K
Words: 2.2k
Summary: Clover's job was simple: Get the model to pose properly, smile, and take the shot. But the new hire, Qrow, was about to throw a wrench into that simplicity... in more ways than one. [Fashion Model AU]
Ao3 Link: Snapshot Aesthetics
~
Snap!
The sound of his camera shutter going off was almost inaudible under the early morning hustle that had overtaken the studio. Clover inspected the shot of Elm displaying back on his LCD screen. He shook his head, calling to the stagehand, “Lower the forelights! There’s too much washout!”
“You got it boss.” She saluted, stepping off the scene to go tinker with the fluorescents.
Th telltale sound of stilettos had his head turning, seeing Willow striding over, lips pursed with annoyance. “Are we ready yet?”
“Almost.” He assured, showing her the picture. “Just a bit more tweaking on the lights and we’ll be good to go.”
She placed a hand on her hip, scanning the team critically. “Good.”
“Everything alright? You look…” He mulled over all his safe adjective options, “Unhappy.”
She sighed exasperatedly. “Qrow is causing a bit of a ruckus back in dress. Won’t let Kali even do his makeup.” She pinched the bridge of her nose. “I don’t know what I was thinking, listening to Taiyang.”
“It’s probably because the new guy’s pretty.” And related to Raven, he thought but didn’t dare utter the runway model’s name aloud. If he did, then it would make his manager think of her ex-husband and Raven’s agent, Jacques Schnee. That was a nasty pandora’s box he’d rather keep closed.
Nevertheless, it certainly wouldn’t be the first time she hired someone simply based on an affiliation they had to someone in Jacques’ team, thinking it as some retroactive way of getting back at him. Taiyang himself was one such decision, also ironically due his connection with Raven. Though, he’d heard the two’s relationship had been more… carnal in nature.
The plus was, Taiyang had worked out great. He was handsome and jovial and easy to direct on set. Clover’s only hope when he learned of the new hire was that the same could be said for Qrow; but, it was sounding like he had his twin sister’s notorious diva-like personality, if Willow’s frustration was anything to go by. Which meant he was in for a long day.
“Light check!” Elm called, flexing both arms proudly like a muscle builder.
He snapped the shot, then nodded at the quality. “Perfect!”
Willow swiveled, heading for the door. “Let’s get started then.”
~
Over the course of the seven years Clover had worked for Trendy magazine, he’d discovered that each fashion designer had a specific ‘taste’ they were going for when it came to showing off their line-up and he’d learned to pose the models accordingly to keep their clients happy and coming back for each issue. So, he kept certain things in mind with each designer’s desires, like how Sienna preferred her poses to be as dynamic and wild as possible and Camilla wanted proper posture and a bit of elegance.
Unfortunately, today’s clothing line was from Roman and Neo. Which meant balancing the two designers’ conflicting requirements of flamboyance and subtlety into one picture. It tended to lead to a lot of small changes for limb placement and expression before he ever even rose his camera.
So, it tended to be a relief when the snap sounded off and he said, “Alright, you’re done!”
“Oh, thank god!” Tai slumped over immediately, rolling out his shoulders. “I think my neck has a crick in it.”
Clover snorted. “Alright drama king. Go take a break.” He turned towards the doorway, calling, “Who’s next up?”
He heard Kali’s faint, “Get in there. And stop messing with your hair!”
A gruff voice he didn’t recognize replied, “Yeah, yeah, yeah.” Before Qrow Branwen walked into the room and stole his breath away.
Though he’d joked before, Clover hadn’t actually known what the man had looked like. He rarely did see new models before their first shoot. But now that he was, it had to be said that maybe Willow had indeed hired Qrow simply for his beauty. In almost every way, he was like a softer version of his sister. Where her skin was striking alabaster white, his had more of a welcoming ivory tone. Where her eyes were bright scarlet, his were a gentle vermillion. And where her hair was an ink black, his held streaks of dusty grey that somehow was just enough to make him appear refined, but not old.
Combine that with Roman and Neo’s classy “modern early-1900’s” style, and he looked absolutely dazzling. It was one of their simpler pieces, but dress had made sure he wore it well, especially with the plain, long-sleeved, white dress shirt that someone had decided to undo the top few buttons off to frame a cross necklace hanging sideways. Pulled over that and adding some muted color was a double-layered vest that buttoned from the bottom of the ribs down. The inner layer was a slate grey while the outer layer was a deep charcoal and had a tasteful embroidery design flowing down the sides. The matching dark grey slacks were fairly standard but nicely fitting to the man’s ridiculously long legs. Completing the picture were some shiny cap-toed black dress shoes.
“So uh, how do you want me?” Qrow asked, fidgeting with the cross-shaped cufflinks of his shirt.
Splayed across my bed. Clover shook himself of any indecent thoughts, nodding towards the set that mimicked an old parlor room. “Center stage, leaning back on the table.”
He nodded, crossing the room.
As they passed each other, Tai offered a thumb’s up and a cheery, “Good luck!”
The little half-grin Qrow offered his friend left Clover floating.
Not that the other man was going to need any well wishes, as he’d decided on something fairly simplistic. As Qrow took position, he directed, “Alright, I want you to rest your hands on the table, in view. Keep your fingers spread out.”
“Like this?” He settled them by his hips.
“Mm no. Spread your arms further apart. Position your hands the other way, pointing opposite directions. Yeah – like that! A little more for the right hand. Relax your shoulders more. No, no not that much.” And on and on it went, as Clover altered each little angle and body part until he had the exact position in mind. Yet, despite the ease of what he was asking for, Qrow’s inexperience meant he had to spend twice as long getting things just right.
It quickly became clear by his 60th order that the older man was growing a bit exasperated.
Clover eyed him up and down. Hummed thoughtfully at the position of where his ankles crossed, the toe of one dress shoe pointed down. “Okay, tilt your left heel just a bit more.”
“Is all this really necessary?” Qrow grumbled, trying not to move anything else but his foot.
“When the client is picky, yeah. And stop clawing your fingers. Keep them flat.”
The other man breathed in and out slowly, carefully resting down his hands.
He gave him another once over. Frowned.
The tension he could easily see doubled as Qrow demanded, “What now?”
“Maybe we should try something different.” He considered.
The words were met with Qrow groaning out, “You got to be kidding me.”
And Willow cutting in, “Go with it. We got to get this shoot done before noon!”
He glanced at his wristwatch. Shit, was it really almost eleven? He still had four other designs to go. “Yeah, alright. Qrow, just try to relax your muscles a bit.” He rose his camera. “Alright, now smile.”
He did, stretching it as big as he could.
Clover looked at him over the lens, raising a brow. “I said smile, not look like you’re trying to imitate clown make-up.” Ignoring the other’s sarcastic laughter, he mulled it over, then snapped his fingers. “Ah, I know! Give me the same one you gave to Tai when you first walked in.”
He could tell it wasn’t quite right when it didn’t have the same cloud nine effect on him as before, but with the clock ticking in his head, he took the shot.
“Alright, that’ll do.” Clover said.
“We’re done?” Qrow asked, not moving an inch, as if worried he’d change his mind.
“Yep. You’re free as a bird.”
That earned him a real laugh. “That was awful!”
For the hell of it, he took another shot.
~
There was always such a sense of relief when Clover submitted the photos to processing. From there the team would do whatever touch ups were necessary before it went in for print. Normally, the rest of his day was done, but he had another engagement at a rally across town that would keep him busy well into the evening. So, he found himself stepping into the break room, intent on grabbing a cup of coffee and heading on his way.
He was surprised to find Qrow there, huddled in one of the corner tables. He was dressed down, back in his casuals, but still managed to make a t-shirt and some slacks look like runway material. They met gazes briefly, before the elder man’s eyes dropped back to his phone, not saying a word.
Already short on time, Clover was content to leave it like that, but as he finished mixing his coffee together, guilt seeped in. If they were going to be working together, then one of them had to take the first step and it was much harder for the new guy to take it.
“You did good today.” He spoke.
Qrow scoffed. “You kidding? I was a disaster.” He groaned, running a hand through his hair. “I’ll be lucky if they ask me to come back.”
Ah. So, he wasn’t a snob - he was insecure. Clover could work with that.
“Ah come on. It wasn’t that bad.” He crossed the room, turning the opposite chair sideways and falling into it. “You’re just a little stiff. A few more of these and you’ll relax.” He paused, then added, “Oh, and take it a little easy on the people in dress.”
“They were trying to poke my eye out! Whoever invented eyeliner is a demon.”
He guffawed heartily. “It’s not that bad.”
Qrow sighed, ruffling a hand through his hair. “Still, I don’t know what I was thinking, letting Tai convince me to take this job.”
Seemed Tai was doing a lot of that lately.
“I’m not a model. That’s my sister’s gig. And…” Qrow gestured to himself. “I mean, look at me.”
“Oh yeah, I’m sure it must get tiring getting all those calls from Mr. Universe asking you to come reclaim your crown.” He countered.
“Tch, if anyone’s got a crown to go reclaim, it’s probably you.” A second later, he seemed to realize what he said and hid his face in his hand. “Oh my god, I didn’t just- I’m sorry, that was inappropriate.”
Clover couldn’t stop grinning. “Relax gorgeous. You’re in the right business to be making comments like that.” He took a sip of his coffee. “Don’t feel so bad, either. You’re not the only one self-conscious around here. Winter? Breaks out before every shoot. James? Has a scar right here.” He ran a finger above the line of his right eyebrow. “And by now, we’ve got to be giving Tai a complex with how much gets altered in processing.”
“He certainly had a lot to say about last month’s issue.”
“Well, you know, we gotta follow those trends and freckles are in.” He was sure there was a lot of talk on the questionable ethics of digitally changing people’s appearances to portray an unobtainable beauty, but it was a topic he wasn’t too interested in engaging with. In the end, it all just came down to the paycheck and keeping people’s jobs. Because if a model couldn’t sell the clothes they were wearing, then they weren’t going to get to keep modeling them.
Qrow leant back, crossing his arms. “Wonder how much they’ll change about me.”
“Well, they’ll definitely take out those cute wrinkles you get around your eyes when you laugh.”
“I wasn’t laughing?”
“Not in the first shot. But I may have…” He shrugged sheepishly. “Taken another one, right at the end? You looked more natural.”
Qrow blinked. “Well. Alright then. Guess that’s why you’re the expert.” His gaze drifted past Clover’s shoulder at about the same time he heard the footsteps. “Hey Tai. All done?”
“Yeah.” The blond replied as he stopped at their table, eyeing him suspiciously. “Hopefully the company flirt wasn’t giving you trouble.”
“Oh sunshine,” Clover drawled, playing it up as he bat his eyelashes at the other man. “I hope you know you’re my one and only.”
He snorted, rolling his eyes. “Save it for the guys actually swinging your way.” He nodded to his friend. “Come on, we better get moving if we want to get the girls on time.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Qrow stood. “It was nice meeting you Clover.”
“Same here. Looking forward to working with you.” He replied sincerely. A pleasant little warmth tingled through him when the sentiment earned him an adorable smile.
As he watched him go, Clover cast his earlier worries aside and decided that this truly was the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

New Qrow fic WIP
It’s a bit of a character study but mostly RWBY/JNOR/more doing shenanigans.
The only problem, I can’t think of a name for this fic.
Anyway here, Chapter One/Round One: Throwing Down the Gauntlet
Blake will admit, she’s a sucker for romance.
How could she not be?
In a world where morbid emotions attract monsters, where injustice breeds from hatred of culture and birth traits, something as simple and layered as love is beautiful and strong and can power people through their darkest moments but also bring them to their knees.
She should say she just learned this all from her books but honestly in the last year or so, Blake has certainly lived through some crazy shit.
But let’s not get into that right now.
Sure her tale begins with her people’s suffering, her parent’s pacifism, a poor boy’s spite, and her own frightful shadows. She could go write to great lengths on how the journey gained her treasured friends, bonds forged through fire, and how it lead them to the coldest place of the north.
That’s where this game begins.
Yes a game indeed or maybe a war by the sharpness in the Valkyrie’s eyes or the telltale song notes of glyphs charging up.
It began with a series of events that piqued the interest of the eight (and later on more) charges under the wings of Qrow Branwen.
The first thing they noticed took place on their very first night in Atlas, where one General James Ironwood hugged the scythe master. The two thought they were alone but the nieces back tracked to get their uncle.
While they made the wise decision to leave the men alone, the girls immediately blurted their findings to the rest of their friends.
Their reactions were of surprise and cooing but it only trigger their radars to look out for more of these moments. None of them could recall ever seeing Qrow be so vulnerable with anyone else. Granted they didn’t spend the most time with him but even Yang and Ruby were caught off guard.
This was their uncle so ultimately this was under Yang’s and Ruby’s discretion or wonderment.
That didn’t stop the rest of them from being curious to see what else will happen between Qrow and Ironwood.
Small and subtle were the ways of the General, lingering eyes or the quietly inviting the huntsman into his office. Ruby’s sniper skills were used for observations like these. Her skills in stealth could’ve been better to muffle her cooing.
Things were going steady, slowly seeing the man underneath the steel. Maybe then the kids could decide to trust him with the truth from the Lamp. Not that Qrow’s compromised in anyway, but seeing this spark between them certainly helps the kids trust the general a little bit more.
James Ironwood appeared to be able to offer up his heart to Qrow.
So imagine their surprise when Clover Ebi entered the game.
There’s that word again: game.
It’s a little immature to describe it as so but Blake couldn’t think of any other word.
Blake and the others keep noticing certain events focused on Qrow, usually engaged by one man or the other.
Small side glances, a brushing of hands, coffee treats and many more that can be listed as intimate or thoughtful or purposeful. Although, Clover’s flirting are rather forward. Most importantly, Qrow’s happiness is the growing outcome.
And pray tell what game is this? Where two men woo a common thread that is slowly becoming enamored by these actions?
A courting game.
Hands slam down on the kitchen table. “Everyone, place your bets!”
“We are so not betting on this!” Weiss crossed her arms, perfectly poised and unmoved.
“Come on,” Nora whined, “There’s nothing else to do here.”
“Aside from doing our jobs and brainstorming how to save the world?”
“All I’m saying is that we need a break from all the seriousness and focus on Team Dad.”
On the couches, only Blake noticed the resident nieces share a glance. They don’t argue against their uncle’s title, instead they quirk their lips in a knowing look.
(Blake later understands their silent exchanges when a game changer occurs)
“Nora’s right,” Jaune agreed, “and I usually never want to say that.”
“Hey!”
“You’re the one who broke the coffee machine by trying to fix it,” Oscar pointed out. Behind him said device has a despairing groan.
Ruby follows up, “And then got the rest of us blaming each other for it.”
“Enough, enough,” the redhead shouted, “We’re getting off track!”
“We are not conspiring on Qrow’s love life!” Weiss proclaimed.
“She’s right,” Ren said with the composure of a sage, highlighted as he sipped his tea, “There’s no need to.”
Yang raised an eyebrow, both curious and surprised, “What do you mean?”
Everyone waited for their resident ninja to finish another long drink, for dramatic effect Blake must note.
Then simply enough, he answers, “Qrow would fall for the General.”
That was clearly not the answer Nora wanted.
She’s a sputtering mess while next to her, Weiss holds her head high.
“Thank you, someone else sees my point,” the ex-heiress nods.
Sharpness in Jaune’s voice catches her off guard, “Your point? You think Ironwood’s gonna get with Qrow?”
“Is it not obvious?”
Nora butts in, a strange tension in her shoulders, “Sure yeah but look at Clover!”
Her team leader listed off, “They’re mission partners but also hanging around each off in their downtime.”
“Yes,” Nora nods enthusiastically, “Just like Jaune with Marrow.”
“H-hey wait-“
“You haven’t seen Qrow with James alone though.”
Again, everyone is quiet as they stare down their resident cute wizard boy.
Oscar squirms a little under the attention, backtracking, “Oh, um, I only mean um I would see them right before James tutors me? And Qrow would sometimes be there too and,” he sighs heavily, “honestly it’s like my aunt’s romance novels.”
Blake immediately guesses the classic tropes of longing, quiet vulnerability, trust and intimacy. She doesn’t voice her thoughts. No need since Weiss happily regales her own findings.
“Winter says that she’s never seen Ironwood so relaxed before. Sure she’s a little teed that it was Qrow’s doing but the results are still good.”
“But what about Qrow’s ‘results’ when he’s with Clover,” Nora argued.
Ruby does her little head shake, musing over her thoughts, “He is a lot calmer or relaxed.”
Nora cackles at the fuming Weiss, affronted at her girlfriend not on her side.
That’s rectified as Ruby taps her chin, scholarly and not noticing Weiss’ heat, “Although he is a lot more teasing around Ironwood.”
“See!” Weiss grins as if this is victory. Her current rival is unbothered.
“He’s the same with Clover,” Nora counters and honestly Weiss can’t possibly argue with that.
Too many times have the kids witness Qrow becoming a bumbling, blushing mess when Clover compliments him. There’s so much bi/gay tension there to even think of denying.
“Qrow must be taking his time then,” Blake voiced. “With both Ironwood and Clover, maybe he’s a bit overwhelmed.”
Next to her, Yang sighs, “Knowing him, he might not realize what’s going on unless someone tells him.”
“Or he’s aware of all of this happening and dismisses it as something that can’t actually happen to him,” Jaune painfully accurately describes as what is probably going on.
This type of denial of happiness, this consuming pit of numbness and pain, people who loved and lost and felt guilty for even loving and losing need to be told they’re deserving of love.
Maybe Jaune’s speaking for himself or maybe Blake’s interpreting for her own experiences.
But one shared glance with the knight confirms her thoughts. Qrow must have talked to him too about this type of grief.
The blame and the guilt and the responsibility of losing someone, be it person of goodness or of spite, it’s a heavy feeling that Blake, Jaune, Qrow and possible the others too have carry.
So while the huntsman tries to assure the two kids of their grievances, there hasn’t been an opportune time to ask how he’s coping. As the young adults under his care, they all worry about him, especially his nieces. At first he was the mysteriously cool uncle as proclaimed by Ruby and later on the secretive and paranoid uncle explained by Yang but in their shared time together, each kid gotten to know the crow by their own definitions.
It’s like that little thing Blake does, associate a word with a person.
She told Sun about her girls, Earnest, Defiance, and Strength.
Then there’s team JNPR, Tenacity for Jaune, Zestful for Nora, Ascendancy for Pyrrha and Acuity for Ren. It took some time but eventually Oscar became Perseverance.
As for Qrow, well, she jokingly thought Mother Hen but now she’s satisfied to call him Memory.
It’s mostly because of all the Muninn parallels but there is just so much history behind Qrow Branwen. Carried in the creak in his bones, dips in his scars, the grey of his feathery hair, the surprise in his laughs, like he’s relearning how it is to walk with ghosts and angels.
So yeah, Blake sometimes worries about him and then she and Weiss worry about Ruby and Yang getting worried too.
But maybe there’s no need to.
From the soft gazes he sets on James and Clover, maybe they’re the ones making sure their Team Dad/Uncle is doing okay.
Now if only Qrow’s love life can move to the next stage.
Their conversation during breakfast was more than enough as food for thought, analyzing everything they know of Qrow Branwen and how he interacts with two men in particular.
Early mission meetings are obviously designated Clover Flirting Time as they get to their seats.
“I wouldn’t mind having another match with you,” Clover said casually as if it didn’t take weeks of near begging for a one on one fight.
“Really? You enjoy falling on your ass that much, lucky charm?”
“Sure do,” Clover slides close, letting his hip press against Qrow’s. “But I like seeing you down on the mats just as much.”
That flirt was meant to be whispered, low and teasing and it definitely sends a blush down Qrow’s neck. It’s a real shame that Blake has an extra set of ears to hear this.
Then from the sight of Marrow almost choking on his coffee, he probably heard it too.
The dog faunus and the cat faunus exchange silent misery.
“Ooh, another match?” Nora, being her glorious self, pops right at Qrow’s side and the two men nearly jump. “Hah, that’s a bit boring by now.”
Clover raises a brow, slightly wary and challenged, “Boring?”
Nora nods her head as Ren-like as possible, “Yep, I mean, training doesn’t have to be combat does it?”
Qrow blinks at her, and so does her teammates because hey, this is Nora complaining about combat training. “Nora, you got something else in mind?”
This encouragement, openness and trust, Blake wouldn’t have noticed it before but Qrow has been putting a lot more faith in them since Argus. It’s really nice to have an adult take them seriously. Then again this is Qrow. He encouraged Yang and Jaune to start a prank war.
Their resident lightning in a bottle had a million volt grin, “Parkour and freerunning! We all saw the Ops jumping around in the mines and that time Qrow and Winter destroyed the campus.”
“Miss Valkyrie,” hissed the ice queen, “I advise you to refrain from telling that anecdote.”
“What, feeling sore since you lost?” Qrow grinned.
“I did not lose, Qrow,” she glared, “it was clearly a stalemate.”
“Wow, now I’m really curious,” Clover said.
“I’ll tell you all about it then,” Qrow winked, “like how I clearly would’ve won.”
Next to Nora, Jaune added in, “There was a recording of it going around campus, like from the moment Qrow bushed back his bangs to the end where the General stopped the fight.”
To Blake, it’s a little odd to see Jaune gush about this since majority of them choose to ignore the usually mushiness of Clover Flirting Time. But then she notice the way Jaune subtly elbowed his teammate.
“Brush your bangs?” Clover’s focus on that little detail had him reach over to do said action, “Huh, you don’t look that intimidating like this.”
Like this, as they all observe, is Qrow blushing madly at the close contact and gentle action, the way Clover’s fingers glided through his dark hair like water.
Oblivious to the two men, everyone else in the room saw Jaune and Nora fist bump each other. They don’t even hide their smugness. No they toss it over at Weiss and Ren.
Ren is slightly alarmed.
Their resident ice princess on the other hand is silently fuming.
Like Blake mentioned before, this is a game.
It may be petty, invasive, and a tad immoral.
And yet it has begun.

So yeah, I need fic title suggestions and ideas

Hello again
Because we proceed to the next episode
Tumblr media
RWBY Volume 7 Chapter 3 Review
1. The Music. Beautiful, Perfect, Spectacular, Amazing, Breath-Taking-
2. Is it some sort of dust in Jaune’s shield??? The purple one? It seems similar to one they need to get for the Amity Tower.
3. “It’s freezing out here!”
Yes, Ruby, it is definitely freezing, maybe you should have had a jacket as well- excuse me being salty, I actually like all new outfits. I wonder now how to braid Weiss’s braid because it looks really cool and I love braiding hair.
Also, I feel like “cold of Solitas” may play some role in the future. Maybe. We don’t know yet for how long we stay in Atlas and how much we will explore the surroundings. Who knows.
Tumblr media
4. I know people were discussing Qrow’s new outfit and all the small details and I just want to say that he is wearing a ring on the pointing finger, right? Technically, this attracts bad luck :’D at least I know there is a superstition about it. I also know how people were making connections about the design of the pattern on his shirt to the design on Ozpin’s cane and Ironwood’s guns and I have a cute little headcanon about it. But, tbh, the way his colours match the colours of Ozpin’s cane actually made me feel sad. I think it is not a reference to Ozpin in general, but to the fact that Qrow somehow sees himself as a (Ozpin’s) weapon, not as a person. After all, he had a very strategic role in Ozpin’s scheme of things. This really made me feel concerned for him.
Let him be happy please?
5. Blake being supportive and caring mom-friend for past episodes. Bromance-Monochrome moments literally show the world out there what true friendship is, what support and understanding means. Blake is there for Weiss, and it makes me remember the dialogue between Yang and Weiss back in vol 5. I love it, this is gorgeous, thank you for the great job and great Blake this volume.
6. The fighting part with Marrow is just crazy. Puns? Checked. Cool weapon? Checked. Coordination with the teammate? Checked. Puns? Double checked.
Tumblr media
7. Let’s talk about Clover a bit. First of all, I think he knows extremely well how to control his semblance and may actually “summon” it when necessary (he did touch that clover sign on purpose). He is not incredibly lucky all the time, he’s like from 25% to 100% more lucky than other average people. He is just an optimistic person with an advantage he mostly uses when necessary. His luck, though, might have made him a little bit less cautious than he should be. I get a feeling that sometimes his self-confidence outweighs his cold-mindedness. it happens very rarely though.
Qrow, on the contrary, seems to live in a constant battle with his semblance. He confesses that “sometimes [he] cannot control it”, so I make a conclusion that semblances of such type are very strong by nature and require certain level of self-control from the owner. However, knowing his own weaknesses, he is guarded as hell all the time, basically combat-ready any moment (physically or mentally). I feel like sometimes he might push his semblance down to the point it starts pushing back until it gets out of control (natural resistance).
I believe that Qrow and Clover working together and basically just casually being together on daily basis and doing some ordinary daily-life stuff will be useful for both of them, especially Qrow. I think Clover might teach him new ways to control his semblance. If this happens and if my theory with Clover “activating+navigating” his semblance through an object proves correct, then Qrow’s “unlucky” way to wear a ring becomes crystal clear, as he will be able to “navigate+activate” his semblance through a Bad Luck Charm (yes, it is a straight reference right here, I am not even trying to be witty about it). (It will be like the Mjolnir to Thor, if you’ve seen Ragnarök movie.) And Clover, from interactions with Qrow, I believe may learn to be more cautious about the limits of his semblance (especially when Qrow is around).
But, in general, I believe their interaction will result in at least a healthy comradeship and mutual skill growth. (And yes I am generally happy about Qrow socializing thank you.)
On other points about Oscar, Ozpin, communication between the characters, Ruby, truth and Ironwood I, again, have nothing to add so far, even though they are really important.
That’s it for now, thank you all for coming to my TEDx Talk! Stay healthy be positive share love ✨❤️✨

Tension
Briar + Qrow ( @qrowbadluckcharm )
No question in Briar’s mind that this is what living creatures are here for: to take care of one another in need. A sentiment not so obvious to Qrow, it seems.
Things often hurt before they feel better.
❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦
Tumblr media
Qrow had just sat down to relax, having been in corvid form all day. The stakeout mission he was on was long and boring to him. His joints now screamed at him as he cracked his neck, rolling his shoulders a bit. After several moments he felt some hands suddenly on his neck, looking back to see Briar standing behind him. “What’s this all about?” He asked, brow raised.
❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦
Briar dares to reach out. Dips palms beneath a black collar and touch someone’s skin for once. To ease the tension of life and lift someone’s burden with her hands and not only her words.
No question in her mind that this is what living creatures are here for. To take care of one another in need. A sentiment not so obvious to qrow, it seems.
Strong fingers squeeze around a particularly stubborn muscle knot. She knows nothing of wings, but the way he carries his shoulderblades makes obvious memento of some type of effort spent before his visit.
Tumblr media
She answers easy, casual, with no shying away from his glance or break to her kneading at all, “You look like you need it.” Hesitation, someone not immediately jumping up and running still a new experience for her, “…Should I stop?”
❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦ ❦
Qrow winced a bit as she dug into a particularly bad spot, eyes closing for a second. He wonders how he’s managed to get as far as he has with little help from others. Especially post corvid form. His shoulders always killed him after long days like this
Maybe he should spend more time with people.
“No…no…” He mumbled slightly, eyes still closed. “I…it actually feels good. If you don’t mind, that is…” he said as he leaned a bit more into her touch. Undoing the top couple of buttons on his shirt he pulled the top off slightly, helping her get more access. “I really needed it today, I guess.”

His eyes opened after a bit, chuckling softly to himself. “Can I ask you something…? Why help someone like me?” He asked, half to himself. “I’m not one many want to stick around…”

Things often hurt before they feel better. One need only look to Briar’s tattoos to know she’s well aware and not put off by others living the same understanding. To say - Qrow’s wince does not deter her efforts.
She’s practically made for it. Subjects people to discomforts of their own design they can either run from or work through.
The man before her does not run, reveals more of himself, offers. Her mind might slip to more obscene places were Briar not more preoccupied with the show of vulnerability over sensuality. Skilled strokes slide lower along his spine.

“Oh, don’t worry, I try to help anyone I can. But…” She giggles with a playful, teasing lilt, as if he should already know the answer and missed out on some joke, “For such a sharp huntsman, you really haven’t noticed? …Most people don’t want The Big Bad Wolf around either. Not once the lights go down and the crowd leaves, anyway.”
Less joy and more melancholy finds her voice, though Qrow’s mere presence lends an undertone of hope to it, “You tracked me down, on the other hand.”
A whole body lean presses the heels of her hands deep into tense tissues, “That’s pretty special, I think. …I don’t mind putting up with a little bit of your insufferable, if you put up with mine.”
I show you mine, you show me yours, remember?

Qrow hummed slightly as her hands worked, his body beginning to relax a bit more. He wondered honestly how he had gotten along so far with this form causing so much pain. Though that thought quickly left him as her hands moved along his spine.
He really needed to stop being in bird form for so long.
He chuckled at her words, looking to her with a brow raised. “No one wants the wolf around? I seriously doubt it.” He replied, a small chuckle escaping his lips. “I am sure Mantle is better since you are here in it. To protect it.”

“True, I did find you…” He replied in a softer tone. “And I don’t regret it, if I’m being honest.”
He winced a bit more as she dug in more, relaxing into her hands. “Me? Insufferable? I don’t know if I should be offended or if I should dial it up.” He joked. He knew full well he was. But he knew she matched him in that and he found a joy in it.
That was all Qrow needed in order to know that he can trust her with his life if it came to that.
“If you can put up with me and my ways, then that’s all the reason to keep me around.” His tone was one of calm and decisive. “To keep me going…and a good reason to keep sober.”
