I probably don't have many followers who are interested in playing Metroid or knows about it, and like I know usually people in this fandom say to not start Metroid with the first one on nes and start by the remake

But like....honestly, if you wanna get into the Metroid franchise...I think you should give the NES one a try? If you don't like it, then definitely go for the remake Metroid Zero Mission, I have heard nothing but great things about it and I'm sure it's awesome.

But like....it's never the same feeling you know? Just like playing Pokemon Firered/Leafgreen is not the same as playing the first Pokemon Red and Blue.

It's just a really different feeling and I don't know....I really like the sensation of playing Metroid NES ??? The music, the atmosphere it's just!!!

And sure it's bullshit how hard this game can be, and how easy it is to get lost but these flaws honestly add more to the atmosphere, where you feel alone and trapped on a hostile planet as a space hunter.

But yeah anyway, Metroid is an awesome franchise, and you should give it a try

Im awake again and i'm still feeling emboldened so fuck it. Posting my Postal 1 self insert, Buck

He works at a local record and CD store Dude frequents, having moved out of his hometown after a pretty bad break up and now looking to find something to keep his brain occupied from the admittedly impulsive decision. To keep with the more simple designs in Postal 1 (cause they had tiny models to work with) he just wears a black shirt, brown belt, some rolled up jeans (the fun of being short as hell), and a pair of black snow boots. Additional accessories for the art being a beaded bracelet and the lanyard he keeps his keys on. (Cause he kept. Losing the ones that didn't come on one)

He met Dude on his first day at work cause his other coworkers didn't want to deal with his 'weird' behavior, so he got sent to approach him instead and the two got along surprisingly well. They're kind of a "Opposites attract when you first see them but they're actually pretty alike" cause Buck is good at masking his anxiety but the two are able to bond over their sense of looming fear and trying to cope with that. He also tends to flatter and bump up Dude a lot, kind of sensing he doesn't have much self worth and wanting to make him feel appreciated.

i am reminded, once again, how anachronistic arthurian legend is. and on one hand, i don't mind it because it's just fantasy; there's dragons and beasts and magic and the stories have been told for a millenia, so of course not everything would make sense.

however,

it becomes an issue to me when the maps made for the legends don't fit in the time period pop culture decides to assign the legends in

#Look I'm aware there're moral reasons to criticize AI art such as how corporations will use it #and the fact lots of models (not all however) use stolen content #But all you have to do is visit a forum dedicated to AI art to quickly realize it actually takes some effort to make quality images #And honestly from what I've seen those guys are often very respectful of traditional artists if not traditional artists themselves #Not a single bit of 'haha those idiots are working hard when they could simply use AI!' that Tumblr likes to strawman them as #Lots of 'So I did the base with AI and then painted over it manually in Photoshop' and 'I trained this model myself with my own drawings' #And I'm not saying there aren't some guys that are being assholes over it on Twitter #But when you go to an actual community dedicated to it. Not gonna draw attention to the post because I suspect the person might blow a gasket, but it's always so funny to me when you see someone picking apart fanart, in this case, a popular fan Ot3 pairing, and they're like, "y'all have brainrot, this'll never be canon, you realize that?"

And maybe I'm just ancient, but since when has fandom ever been about validating canon? Canon is incidental to fandom output. It is, at best, a guideline. You can stick to it, or you can go so far off the beaten path that you fall off the edge of the world and wind up in a new one where the map has words like "here be dragons" stamped in the upper corner.

Fandom is about exploration beyond the canon. It can look like canon, talk like canon, and sometimes even emulate it so perfectly you'd swear you've found the author's secret account, but it doesn't have to.

Ultimately, however, it's about having fun. And if you can't understand that, I have no idea what you're doing here.
