So you know the wonderful fanon of the gods being Billy's twitch chat? What if some villian does something while hes on a mission with a leauge and all his patrons are seen behind Marvel as shadow like entities. And Billy. No colors, just dark shapes and voices. There are two thoughts I have for this. One, the villian gets grabbed by Cap and the other JL members can *hear* half these figures going "KILL THEM. DO IT." as the other half go "don't you dare!" And Cap ends up just knocking them out with a huff.

My other thought is someone asking about the figures and he introduces everyone but the tiny one hiding in his cloak. Of course someone asks about that one and they can *see* the way Marvel and the other gods go tense and before they can panic, using Solomon's help, Marvel says, "his identity isn't important to you. But he is just as important as the rest. His gift is The Innocence of A Child. He may not grant grand strength or super speed, but he gives something just as precious. A link to humanity. A reminder that I am here to protect and guide the Innocent. Haha- this one time I remember he guided me to a five leaf clover and insisted I keep it because five leaves must mean it's *extra* lucky."

The last part is a semi lie. Billy did find a five leaf clover but Mercury wanted to keep it.

Innocence of a Child is a good substitute for saying the Heart of Billy Batson.

Billy would seem so fucking small hiding behind that cloak. I hc him being yeetable. Not puntable, yeetable.

First thought is so good I can see it. If my pen was not being a bitch some art would be attached to this post.

Second thought is incredible as well. Solomon out here sometimes single-handedly saving their secret identity from getting outed. Thank you for your service, sir.

Thanks for your ask! There's a lot of things I like about it.

At first, I just thought they were really cute and it was clear to me how much they care for each other. But after watching S4 and then rewatching the show (literally twice because once for myself and then I started over because my friend started watching), I was catching more things.

I like the quiet moments of how in S1, they watch each other. Mike may not have been in love right out the gate, but he was for sure smitten but the big thing is he also is a caring person so he didn't treat El any different than if it was another kid who needed help. Him saying she looked pretty, but remembering that Lucas and Dustin where there and correcting himself to "pretty good" even though we all knew what he meant. Then of course, how happy he was to see her when she saved him when he jumped, and how he reassures her... even in S1 that she wasn't the monster. That conversation in S4 didn't come out of nowhere.

I love how in S2, that this boy was calling her every day, never giving up hope that she was out there even if logic might have been saying "nope, you're crazy". Plus, that reunion, *chef's kiss*.

In S3, everyone does a bit of growing up in different ways and I love that even though they're not together for most of the season, that boy has her back no matter what and she can depend on him. He was literally the first one each time to rush into danger to save her. His slip up of confessing his love, that was a good scene and then of course in the grocery store. Love it.

In S4, we see a much more mature Mileven and they're only 14. He believes he's been telling her how much he loves her in his way which is his love language but she needs to hear it and that's her love language and they have to learn that and Mike does. I love how he still tries to reassure her even though no one reassure him.

I love that they just utterly trust each other. I think that's really cute for some teenagers. I liked them in the past but I definitely have grown to love them and I think a lot of it stems from wanting to protect Mike from the hate he receives, but I really do love them together. Not to mention, the way he senses her... ugh.

Mike is a part of El and El is a part of Mike. No matter what any antis say, this will never change.

Just saw a post that complained about the “commodification of friendship” and urged us to make “small sacrifices” for our friends, lest we get caught up in “an endless prioritization of our own comfort,” and I just . . . that opinion probably has its place, but GOSH is it the opposite of what I need to hear.

I think a lot of people can grow up in situations where their comfort and safety are consistently disregarded rather than protected, whether due to abuse, neglect, the lack of a proper diagnosis, lack of resources, or probably plenty of other factors. And for those of us for whom that’s the case, it can be really, really hard to calibrate what counts as a “small” sacrifice, because we don’t know the difference between being uncomfortable and being endangered/taken advantage of, because no one ever took our word about any of it or tried to protect us. And posts like the one I linked to can reinforce the message that we are NEVER allowed to put ourselves first.

I spent all of high school talking my then-boyfriend out of suicide, over and over and over again, while he refused to tell any adults what was going on, refused to seek any kind of help, and made it clear that he would kill himself if I tried to involve any adults or get him outside help. At the time, I was glad to feel needed, and I believed I was doing something important, but looking back, the secrecy and constant stress were terrible.

A few months ago, I wound up on the phone with someone close to me who was having a protracted, sobbing breakdown. It was so triggering to me that it slingshotted my brain seven whole years back in time, and it took months of work with my therapist, my faith leader, and my friends to mitigate the effects of listening to that breakdown. I really wish I had said something to the effect of, “I’m sorry, this is too hard for me. Is there someone else you can call to make sure you’re safe right now? I can’t be that person at the moment.”

I understand that there’s a difference between, say driving someone to the airport or making them soup, on the one hand, and serving as an emergency mental health responder, especially repeatedly, on the other hand. But I also feel like figuring out where to draw the line is something some of us are going to be worse at than others, and those of us who have trouble with it are going to struggle with it even more and feel even guiltier about drawing those lines, when we do actually manage it, when we see posts that tell us that “we would literally never get anywhere ever” if we prioritized ourselves.

Is it possible to be too selfish? Sure. But I don’t think that’s anywhere near as dangerous as feeling like you’re never allowed to set any boundaries, and my priority is to keep people safe from the kinds of endangerment I’ve experienced.

May I ask more about Slash, Bishop and Draxum from your au? Your au is fuzzy and has potential! Very interested and excite!

Sure thing!

First off let’s start with Draxum. Pretty much it’s continuing what the writers intended-him growing to become more core to the family. There’s still some animosity with some of the boys-namely Leo-but he’s working on it.

Also he still has some issues that he denies having-like dysmorphia and the need to be in control of himself. It’s one of those things he still can’t admit to even though his family would absolutely help.

Really the only time he opens up is well…when he learns Bishop has gone through similar things and suffers similar problems.

Now for Bishop…he’s keeping his 03 backstory of being abducted-and the whole seemingly immortality he has.

However he’s getting a bit of a 12 twist-with receiving cybernetic enhancements (eyes, below his elbows, below his knees, and a external spinal connection that allows him to literally plug in and download data.

He originally had his prejudice against aliens, mutants, and youkais. The EPF is known as a threat in the Hidden City, and they’ve been on their toes since they’ve gone radio silent for about a decade.

He tends to get focused on bizarre disappearances-figuring they are somewhat related to either aliens, mutants, or youkai activities. So yes he has a team go and investigate the disappearance of Lou Jitsu. Even mutated two EPF agents with youkai DNA so they could infiltrate and get into places they couldn’t before. Unfortunately no luck-at least it’s while in the Hidden City. Though they did come across an interesting substance and sent it to Bishop for analysis.

He’s responsible for Raph’s separation anxieties. Rumors that Lou Jitsu DID manage to escape the Hidden City reached the EPF and Bishop. So another search was conducted-this time with his involvement. Which lead him into the sewers.

That is when he came across the mutant turtle toddler who was wandering about. Even if it wasn’t Lou Jitsu, it still wasn’t human. So he attempted to take it back to EPF head quarters for further inspections,

Until he’s stopped by a still in process mutation Lou Jitsu. It’s not until Raph actually cried out for his dad that has Bishop actually drop him. Because 1) it spoke 2) it sounded like a child 3)IT IS a child.

Which kinda segways into Slash well enough. The substance sent to the EPF from the Hidden City is indeed the mutagen from Draxum’s lab. In order to learn about its properties Bishop conducted an experiment on an already injured leatherback sea turtle hatchling.

Granted he included minor alien DNA as well since the mutagen itself acted more as a binding agent from the tests.

There was also an unidentifiable strand also in the mutagen-later tests would show it was Lou Jitsu’s DNA.

After the run in with Raph and Splinter, Bishop heads down to the experimentation lab. Previously he thought that the mutagen sample was too small, and that’s why there was no exponential growth in the subject over the two year span from when it started. Only to realize it’s because the subject in question was aging as a human would.

Subject 72012 (reference to his appearance in the IDW series) was let out in secret by Bishop with the help of a long time friend and second in command for the EPF-Dr. Marty Chaplin (Marty in reference to he creator).

Both Bishop and Chaplin keep Slash’s release confidential, claiming the experiment was an abject failure. When instead Bishop knew the risk of leaving Slash to mature in the lab could result in a feral nature.

Slash named himself. Bishop had an affinity for music. His reasoning is because it’s the one thing that changes and evolves through the centuries, that assured him that: yes time was passing, no he wasn’t aging, yes this was truly happening.

When Slash was younger, and still being addressed by his subject number, while rifling through Bishop’s office he found some of his rock vinyls and was instantly enamored by the image of certain well known guitarist. When asking who it was Bishop answered, to which Slash replied “I wanna be called Slash!”

One other notable thing with Slash, is once the change in priorities of the EPF-moving away from complete elimination of alien/mutant/youkai to more of aiding in them blending into human society (think MIB)-this allowed Slash to wander the EPF base. He’d hold onto Bishop’s coat as to not get lost-in fact he does it to this day even as a 6’5” 16 year old if he’s in a place he doesn’t know.

Another thing is that much like his dad (he considers Bishop as his father figure) he also has an affinity with music. However it was what Bishop used to help calm Slash when he’d get overwhelmed.
