#I think All Might genuinely does respect Mic for what he does as an entertainer

"I'm not mad I'm just disappointed."
Toshinori tries to stay positive. He hasn't completely pushed Yamada out of the picture quite like Aizawa has, since he's still hoping there'll be a turnaround. He knows Loudspeaker only did what he did 'cause he's scared. I think Toshinori can empathize with the whole situation. After Nighteye. Maybe. Mostly, All Might just leaves Loudspeaker be and focuses on making sure Aizawa is doing alright. He has Midoryia to worry about anyway. From what I can tell from the light novels and Teamup Missions chapter 7, the two have quite a good friendship. I can see them having a bit of a father-son dynamic.

So I've asked about character your meh on like Shinsou, but who are some of your faves?
Well, since you asked!
My favorites are All Might, Aizawa, and Present Mic.
These three are tied for #1. I love them all differently but the same.
All Might: First off, All Might is adorable. He may be conventionally attractive, but he’s still a sweet sunflower man that I adore. I don’t care that he looks like a skeleton or a nutcracker in his Small Might form, and looks a bit weird in his Big Might form, he’s cute! And that cuteness all comes from his personality.
He’s sweet, kind, gentle, loving, and genuine in all that he does. All Might treats everyone he meets with kindness and respect—minus a select few—while showing honest appreciation. Despite all his wonderful qualities though, he’s not perfect. He’s too self-sacrificing, he can’t always read people properly, and as a teacher, he made more than a few mistakes. But he doesn’t give up; he admits when he screwed up and takes steps to get better. This brings me to his arc;
For all the crap I give the story about Bakagou’s arc, I adore the detail and attention to All Might’s. He started out as nobody and became the most notable and powerful hero in the world—now he’s losing his power and going back to being a “nobody.” Instead of killing All Might—like most mentors—the story gives All Might a new chapter with new challenges to overcome. His time as a hero is over, and he can’t do what he did before, but All Might still has a purpose, and he can still help. He can pass along his knowledge, he can support others, he can use his All Might brain to help.
That’s another thing I love, All Might isn’t just a dumb “himbo.” He’s got muscles, but he’s got brains too. Big brains that he puts to use helping people. He’s not kind because he’s naive or ignorant, he’s kind because he chooses to be. And uses his brains to find value in all his fellow heroes, like Present Mic; Mic is a hero who gets zero respect despite being great at what he does. All Might sees the effort in what he does as an entertainment hero and genuinely admires Mic for it.
He’s also very funny. Despite having the weight of the world on his back like Atlas, he’s not all gloom and doom, in fact, he’s a very cheerful person with a good sense of humor. I also like how he’s not “innocent.” He’s nice, but he swears, he’s mischievous, he’ll tease people, and if pushed too far, he’ll kick ass.
I could go on, but I got two other characters to talk about. All Might is someone who could have been ruined so badly, but the story put the work needed into him, and I appreciate it.
Aizawa: I’ve talked about Zawa here;
Hizashi Yamada: Hizashi is someone who surprised me with how much I relate to him. At first, he was just someone everyone paired with Aizawa, but then I looked into his character and saw a lot of things I relate to. At first, we see that he has a wild and eccentric personality that’s extremely flamboyant. However, throughout the story, we see that while Mic is energetic, and a bit loud, a lot is going on in his head. He has deep emotions, but they’re pushed under a mask. He’s also the one more willing to confront hard truths such as there being a traitor in their mitts (not that anyone was willing to listen to him). He’s a loyal friend, and I wish we had more moments where someone—anyone at this point—would return the favor. I think there was only one moment in the entire series where someone asked if he was okay and only two—maybe three moments where anyone showed concern for him.
He’s a bit of a mystery with the real Hizashi hiding so well under Present Mic. I like watching his character trying to figure out who he is. In a way, he’s a puzzle, and there are things that pull me towards him that even I don’t know.

BNHA students as youtubers! Pt.1
Ft. Midoriya, Bakugou, Tenya, Todoroki, Kirishima, Tokoyami, Kaminari, Jiro, Shinso, and Asui
-Midoriya
Tumblr media
FITNESS CHANNEL!!!
He's all like: 😁🏃‍♂️🏋️‍♂️💪
He's not a douche abt it tho, its genuine tips and tricks to help other people 😌
Common guest in All Might's vlogs too
Generally discusses health and sometimes how to get in shape if you arent already 😋
Very helpful
Did I mention he's helpful?
Because he's helpful...
Does Dad vids with Eri sometimes 😍
Often features the Dekusquad 🤭
He was also on Present Mic's podcast but he wasn't talking about anything juicy so his airtime was cut in half 😔
Sorry my boy, but you aren't very creative with names... his channel name is just "Izuku Midoriya" 😩
-Bakugou
Tumblr media
Step tf off Guy Fieri 🤬
Our boy is a youtube chef 👨‍🍳
Thinks that us "extras" need to learn from a pro
Yes, yes he actually does call his subscribers extras...
I feel VERY attacked ngl 😩
He do be kinda cooking doe 😳
Basically just bullies you into cooking properly
Has featured Kirishima a few times but after Kaminari shorted his brain AND the oven out Bakuguo swore to never let anyone BESIDES Kiri feature in his vids 😔
Kami was like: 🥴 and Bakugou was like: 😤
His channel name is definitely "Katsuki's Kitchen"
-Tenya
Tumblr media
Ah yes, the CEO of boi hands
Tenya was a pretty difficult one tbh 🧐
Personally I see him as an educational channel on youtube 🤷🏻‍♂️
But not boring education, he talks about different types of villains to watch out for..
Definitely talks about evasion tactics and fighting styles
He's also unintentionally very funny
Does this a lot: 🤚🏻
Also did a series on how to be a good class rep
Please smash like, he's trying his best y'all 😩
He let his class pick his name (of course) so now he's stuck with "1-A's Dad" 🤧
-Todoroki
Tumblr media
This guy is multifaceted
Meaning he does multiple things on his channel based on his interests
I see him as someone who teaches meditation and construction
Teaches people about proper Japanese home design and how to renovate it 🥰
YES, this is SOLELY based on when he changed the flooring in his dorm 😭
We do know that he likes traditional Japanese style homes though because he basically says that
I only said meditation because he's usually so chill 🧘‍♂️
I feel like either Mina or Midoriya introduced him to it because of how angry he can get sometimes so he needed it ☝️
Channel name is probably "Icyhot's World" because I really can't see him coming up with anything better, and also it annoys Bakugou 🤭
-Kirishima
Tumblr media
The moral integrity of the youtube gaming sect 🤗
He has videos addressing current event issues too like BLM when things get really serious
YES, he is very politically correct
Respects wamen ☺️
His gaming videos are commentary and he usually plays online multiplayer
Expect to hear the voices of Bakugou, Kaminari, Sero, (ocassionally Tokoyami) and Mina whenever Kiri DOES play online
If they aren't all there (because they have their own channels to upkeep) sometimes he may add Midoriya, Jiro, or Shinso fairly often🤷🏻‍♂️
Rlly just depends on whose online, but he's open to playing with anyone
Works really well as a teammate, and is super positive and funny
Says that teamwork in games is just as important as teamwork irl (it's also "SUPER MANLY!")
He also loves to fuck with Bakugou in his videos a lot
Channel name is "Shitty Hair Plays" (much to Bakugou's chagrin)
-Tokoyami
Tumblr media
Our goth lord and savior 🙏
Teaches us abt goth culture
He's like: ☻☠🧛‍♂️🖤
This includes goth design, history, styles of goth/alternative clothing, and also darker styles of music
Also reads his own spooky poetry
He's really good ngl 😳
Sometimes records himself gaming
Also his main feature is dark shadow so expect a lot of "ft. Dark shaow" on his page
Overall very interesting and deserves your subscription
And also his channel name is " The Dark Harvest Official"
- Kaminari
Tumblr media
CrAcK cHaNnEl
Comedy reaction channel
He's kinda like Jontron, except he's an idiot 🚶‍♂️
At first I thought he might not have the self awareness to do this because he would need to be able to critique, but I honestly think Denki is smarter than he lets on 🤓
Does features, so think of the videos of Drew Gooden, Danny Gonzalez, and Kurtis Connor when they all collabed (or Noel Miller and Cody Ko)
Usually features Kiri and Sero (Bakugou gets too annoyed so he's rarely in the videos at all)
Mineta would get his ad revenue taken away so hes not in the vids
Also I hate him, so... 😌💕
His channel is probably called "Mr. Electric reacts"
We STAN a shark boy and lava girl reference 👏
-Jiro
Tumblr media
I think you already know what I'm going to say
Obvs a music channel
Singing, playing instruments.. etc
Step aside Hannah Montana ✋👱‍♀️
She did do a video singing the transitions from the show as a joke though, so she isnt totally serious with her page either
Also has videos bullying poor Denki 🤧
Trys to teach you how to play but also does covers of her own
Has a few random videos of some of her classmates being morons on her page too.
I feel like her name would be "U.A's Taste" or something because sometimes it seems like no one else has any 🤷🏻‍♂️
She would def do a video explaining that
-Shinso
Tumblr media
Shinso's page can only be described as a deepdive critique channel
He makes those 30 minute long videos discussing depraved youtubers horrible behavior with receipts, but he doesn't do it for drama, he does it to put the truth out there
And no I'm not talking about the big youtubers like "Tati" or "Pewdiepie", I'm talking like really screwed up abusers like "Onision"
(AN: Sorry this got so dark 😖)
POINTS OUT LOGICAL FALLACIES IN THE EVIL YOUTUBERS ARGUMENTS!!
But he also games sometimes, usually horror or online games
His audience challenges him to scarier games to try to get a reaction out of him but he NEVER flinches
He thinks jump scares are cheap
After one he'll just sit there and be like: 😑 "Well, that was annoying"
Firm believer in "if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen" (Needless to say a few people have deleted their channels from the roasts this man can dish out)
His channel is probably called "Shinso Listens" basically to make fun of Onision speaks 😅
-Asui
Tumblr media
This one was easyyy
Our queen is a book critiquing channel
Think of strange æons and krimson rogue if they somehow had a child 😩
Yes, she did critique Onision's books and YES the videos did feature Shinso
And yes, it was entertaining as fuck
"Woah, that's a little harsh Shinso.. even for you.."
They both ripped him a new one in that video 😅
Not that he doesn't deserve it 👏
Mina reviewed Shane Dawson's books with her after he was canceled and sis... when I tell you it was pure genius 🖐😌
She and Tokoyami reviewed Gabbie Hannah's awful poetry book and it was PHENOMENAL
Her channel name is "Call Me Tsu" 🖐😌
Truly a gem on youtube 🤧

Someone speaks badly about you on a show
—and they defend you, ofc.
Pairings: OT7 x Reader
Genre: I guess fluff for default, angst
Request by @ally22042000: "Hey, I saw that request for reactions are open. Can I have one with the boys ( just Yoongi and JK if all of them are to much), where they are at an award show or interview or something like that and someone talks disrespectfull about the reader? Thx so much💜 and have a nice day."
A/N: I hope this is what you had in mind, I enjoyed writing these 💕 Also, you're an idol in a couple of them and in the rest you're not. I hope you like it!
Tumblr media
Kim Seokjin
Your boyfriend absolutely lived for whenever he got asked to be an MC at award shows.
So, naturally, he was very hyped up once he was handed his lines and had to go up on stage with two other idols – one of them being his good friend of many years, and the other one being a new artist who had debuted last year.
It was simple. Read the cards. Just read the goddamn paper notes you had been given and that was it. But, apparently, the idol by his side was way too new to this whole thing, for instead of reading what he had been handed to, he fixed his eyes on Jin to his side.
"Thank God I got to be with the fun one of your relationship".
Seokjin's eyes went to lock with his out of instinct, having not really processed what had just happened yet.
"The fun one?" his eyebrows furrowed.
"Yeah" the idol nodded his head. "Y/N would've made this so boring".
Jin glanced for a brief second to his friend, as if to verify he had heard just the same and his mind wasn't making it up – his awkward expression itself doing that for him.
Nonetheless, as much as he wanted to snap at him, he decided to be the better one, maybe just because he knew he was still live and didn't want to make a scene right in front of everyone.
That didn't stop him from putting him in his place though.
"Then you clearly haven't had the pleasure to meet her and witness her high class humour" Jin spoke into the camera, later placing his eyes on his friend. "Don't you think, hyung-nim?"
"I have never laughed harder than with her, Seokjin-ssi" he replied immediately.
And then out of nowhere, Jin dug his hand in his pocket, throwing multiple heart shaped red papers that had everyone screaming in a second. "Love you, baby. Don't let anyone tell you you're not funny".
What's the saying? Kill 'em with kindness? Well, Seokjin had just slayed that poor guy's soul.
Tumblr media
Min Yoongi
"Hey, it's BTS!" the MC greeted cheerfully once the seven guys came on the shot.
One by one, they went up to her to give her a quick hug before they took their place standing next to her.
Up until then, everything was fine, and maybe things would've remained that way if she had just said nothing after Yoongi hugged her. Instead, she laughed, catching him off guard.
"At least you are polite" she shook her head in amusement.
Yoongi pouted naturally because of his confusion. "Who of us hasn't been polite?"
"Oh, no. Not you" she shook her head one more time, only to clarify: "Your girlfriend".
"Y/N-ssi?" Hobi was the one to ask on his hyung's behalf, being just as puzzled as everyone else by that statement.
At the nod of confirmation coming from the MC, Yoongi brought the microphone up to his lips. "But you've never even met her, where'd you get that from?"
"The video of her not even looking at the paps taking pictures... when you were at the airport the other day".
Yoongi's hold on the mic tightened, suddenly becoming protective of you. "So just because she's a private person she's impolite?"
"She didn't even acknowledge your fans. Come on, that was just very–"
"She's not an idol" he cut her off. "She doesn't have to put up with all of this, especially when she's not comfortable with all the attention".
"She should've known this would happen when she decided to date you".
"Guys…" Namjoon tried to stop both of them from arguing any further, for they had apparently forgotten they were still live.
But Yoongi was already done, slightly shaking his head before he put an end to it for once and for all: "She's given up enough for me already, I'm not asking her to be all bubbly around paps or our fans when she clearly isn't comfortable with it. If that's impolite to you then go off, I guess, but I'm the one dating her and I know better".
On to the next topic now.
Tumblr media
Jung Hoseok
"Hoseok!" the girl interviewing them read effusively on her phone.
They had been interviewed person by person that day, since a few influencers had gotten the chance to record short clips with BTS to upload to their social media. This one, so far, had been one of their favourites, for its dynamics consisted in nothing but the young woman going through her Twitter reading fan questions or just letting them know about cute comments they had made.
However, that was soon to change when she caught Hobi's attention, continuing: "I loved you in the concert last week, I got to meet Y/N and she was the cu– oh, irrelevant much?" she mumbled with a small, breathy laugh, before dismissing the topic and scrolling down in search of another tweet.
Hoseok's eyebrows knitted together. "Wha–"
"Oh, here's a good one" she smiled as if nothing had happened, as if she had not heard him; having the seven men exchange uncomfortable glances. "Jimin, you and your girlfriend are such couple goals, I can't w–"
"Um…" Hoseok cut her off, stealing a quick glance to Jimin, who looked just as out of it, before his eyes fell back on the girl's. "How come Jimin's girlfriend is worth talking of and mine isn't?"
"She's an idol" she answered as if it was evident.
His jaw tightened. "So people are only worthy when they're famous now?"
"Well, no..." she uselessly tried to fix it.
"Then I believe you should respect her enough not to call her irrelevant or skip comments at the mention of her".
"But there's nothing interesting about Y/N anyway, so…"
That was all Hobi needed to turn his head to look at his members before he shook his head in defeat. "We're done here, guys. I'm not listening to any more of this nonsense".
Neither were they, which is why they were all soon to follow your boyfriend out of there.
Tumblr media
Kim Namjoon
"So, Namjoon-ah" the entertainer's eyes focused on him, "I watched a few pictures of you at your girlfriend's graduation the other day" he smiled. "You guys looked so cute!"
A big smile spread over Joon's lips, recalling the pride he had felt that day because of you, being the happiest to have been able to be there for you.
"Aw, thank you" he said truthfully, his dimples making their appearance. "I'm really proud of her".
"You are?" the man asked.
Now, there were two ways to say those words. One with a genuinely intrigued tone, and one that was looking to offend. In this case, given not only his tone but also the way his eyebrows had raised in impression, it had been clear to everyone present that his intention had been the latter.
"I am" he stated simply, hoping that would be as much as the host would say about the topic before he moved on to the next one.
It was not.
"Don't you ever wish you were with someone more successful though?"
Namjoon's jaw tightened visibly, his eyes turning colder. "What does that even mean?"
"I'm just saying, you're Kim Namjoon" the man shifted on his seat. "Worldwide known idol, producer, rapper… whereas she's just… ordinary".
The way he had said that last word made it seem like being like that was the worst of things, and Namjoon did not like it one bit.
"Her achievements are just as important as mine" he was fast to talk in your defence. "Just because she isn't a part of the idol industry doesn't mean her dreams and passions are any less worthy of recognition than mine".
That alone had the interviewer apologising in a second, realising then how bad he had messed up. Because, in all honesty, Namjoon couldn't really care any less about you being famous or not – he would always be proud of you and your achievements no matter what.
Tumblr media
Park Jimin
"Ah, Park Jimin!" the host exclaimed after a picture of you had popped up on the screen in between them. "You really got lucky with this one, didn't you?"
That sure did bring a bright smile to his lips, for he absolutely lived for these moments, when people acknowledged how beautiful you were.
Nonetheless, that smile of his was soon erased when the same guy added: "You should control her more, though".
With that and a frown adorning your boyfriend's face, the picture previously displaying on the screen was gone and replaced with one of you in a night dress from two days ago instead.
"Control her more?" Jimin asked through gritted teeth.
"Yeah" he nodded his head. "She has a boyfriend now, she can't go around looking that hot, it might get the wrong attention".
Now, Jimin himself hadn't really liked it when you went out dressed like that, but he was your boyfriend, so he did have some kind of right to feel a little jealous of other guys thirsting over his girlfriend when she was out alone with her friends, didn't he?
This guy, however? Neither what he said was appropriate on so many levels, nor did he have the right to talk about you and your outfit like that.
"I think you should think before you speak and induce people to have unhealthy relationships" your boyfriend spoke in a low, calm voice.
Controlling you? What kind of bullshit was that?
"Come on now, I was joking" the man brushed it off with a laugh, and a very nervous one at that.
"Were you really?" Jimin raised one of his eyebrows, not believing a word. "Even if you were" he went on before the guy could open his mouth to reply, "you should maybe reflect on yourself and, instead of telling me how to treat my girlfriend because of how provocative she looks, think of why you, a guy who's over his forties, thinks that way of someone who could easily be his daughter".
He had not been rude. He had not raised his voice. Yet he did somehow manage to look so fucking scary to the man in front.
Tumblr media
Kim Taehyung
"Y/N?" the interviewer asked in disbelief, only to scoff after receiving a nod of confirmation from Tae. "Of course she'd end up with one of you guys".
Not only did Taehyung's eyebrows furrow in that moment, but so did everyone else's – his members exchanging dumbfounded looks as your boyfriend looked to the guy in front dead in the eye.
"One of us?"
"Mhm" the guy replied simply. "She always seems to be with whoever is the most famous at the moment, so..." he shrugged.
"She's only been with other two people?" Taehyung raised one of his eyebrows.
"Who just so happened to be the moment's sensation" he reminded him. "And now she's with you".
"You can't help who you fall for" your boyfriend's stare became colder by the second.
"She's just going to break things off with you as soon as your moment of fame passes".
That was it.
"Okay, no" his voice came out like pure venom. "If she broke up with them, it's merely because they were both complete assholes to her".
"Taehyung…" Namjoon discreetly squeezed his wrist from his side.
"No, hyung" he shook his head before fixing his enraged eyes back on the interviewer. "She's the sweetest person there is, it's not her fault us guys fall for her. And it's not her fault either to have dated guys who don't deserve her. She did well to dump them, and I know she won't leave me just because of my fame's status".
And then, as everyone in the room remained silent, being absolutely perplexed by such situation, he shook his head in disappointment once again at the sight of the guy's desperate attempt to come up with something else to say.
"You know" he beat him to it, "for such an overrated interviewer, you are so goddamn misinformed".
Good thing this would get bleeped out by the editors later, that if they ever wanted this to air at all.
Tumblr media
Jeon Jeongguk
"It's been a while since we last were together, hasn't it?" the host spoke after they had all sat down on the sofa placed in front of her. "A lot has happened since then…" a cheeky grin curved up her lips when her eyes fell on Jeongguk, "like the maknae finally getting himself a girlfriend?"
A shy bunny smile didn't wait to part Guk's lips, meanwhile his six hyungs started being chaotic like they, by this point, always were.
"He did" Namjoon was the one to answer for him, fondly patting his shoulder.
"Well, congratulations! It was about time you got someone" the woman said with a smile. "Though I must admit I never thought I'd see you with someone like her".
Your boyfriend's previous smile was replaced by slightly parted lips. "Someone like her?"
"I mean" the woman tried to get her point across, "you've said multiple times that IU is your ideal type, and Y/N's just…" she scrunched her nose in a displeased manner, "she's not exactly…"
Oh, no. There was no way in hell Jeongguk was letting her finish that sentence; the idea itself making him mad. That was the reason his shy side was long gone, being replaced by his protective one instead, which had quickly taken over him.
"She's stunning" Guk spoke in a low, determined voice. "IU is just a celebrity crush. Y/N's the woman I am in love with" he established without hesitation. "I really don't understand why you're bringing this up".
Although taken aback by Jeongguk's sudden way with his words, not having expected such outburst coming from the quietest member when it came to interviews, the woman went on:
"I'm just sayin–"
"No" Guk cut her off, shaking his head hastily, "you have nothing to say about my preferences, you don't get a say on us".
End of conversation.

Turning Leaves, 18. Speculation
Tumblr media
Viki was at home with Charlie when the doorbell rang. Charlie had been hoping for the phone to ring and did not like that someone was at the door. “Well, now, who could that be?” “I’ll get it,” Viki insisted, concerned. Charlie waited, hovering near the telephone until he saw Bo and Nora enter the foyer.  “Any news?” he asked before he even offered a hello.
“We just wanted to stop by and check in,” Bo offered as an encouraging apology. “You know that if I hear anything before you do, you’ll be the first person I call.” Nora hugged Viki.  “Clint wanted to be here but he’s caught in a meeting at B.E. right now. He’ll call later.” “How is Matthew?” Viki ushered them to the couch. “Oh, you know … still as Buchanan as ever,” was Nora’s only explanation. “Are you two sure you’re alright? Working from home today?” “Yes, we thought a quiet setting seemed more productive. We’re fine,” Viki assured. Bo wasn’t certain. “It’s just we know you both have a lot on your mind right now, with the election and everything….” “To be honest, Bo,” Viki admitted, “the election is the least of my concerns right now.” Nora wondered with a smirk, “You mean Dorian is the least of your concerns right now?” “That too,” Viki agreed. “Although she would prefer otherwise.” “I don’t know, Viki.”  Nora shook her head.  “You know she’s been waiting for a perfect opportunity to hold her head up and strike.” She mimicked the movement of a snake with her hand and arm. “Well, then, let her,” Viki insisted. “It won’t do her public image any favors.” Charlie was helpless. He glanced at the phone and Bo caught him doing it. “See, the thing is,” Bo offered, “that while she may be the least of your worries right now – and rightly so, rightly so,” he nodded, “she is also the one you can deal with.” “What are you getting at, Bo?” Charlie wondered. “The interim mayor is pretty much in a holding position until we get a new mayor in town hall. This is about the first time in years we’ve been able to do our jobs at the station without someone from the mayor’s office running interference. At the end of this election, I’m going to have a new boss, and it just remains to be seen what might happen in a situation like the one we’re facing right now, with Jared.” Viki looked over at Charlie while he nodded his understanding.  “Well, to be fair,” she offered, “I have to give Dorian some credit. I don’t think either one of us would interfere in an investigation like this one.” “Ah, the key words,” Nora insisted. “'Like this one.’” There was an awkward silence between the four as they each wondered over their own thoughts on the matter. Bo spoke up again. “By the way, Viki – this is relevant to your interests. The hotline got an anonymous tip this morning … from someone who was insisting that we should investigate the current hospital chief of staff because they said he has or had close personal ties with the former mayor.” Nora nodded with a funny all-knowing grin. “Well, isn’t that convenient?” Charlie wondered. “That’s true though,” Viki agreed. “In fact, now that I think about it, I’m surprised he managed to slip under all of our radars for so long, considering that prescriptions were a large part of the drug operation.” “So this is a concern to you?” Bo asked with genuine interest. “In fact, yes,” Viki nodded. She looked at Nora’s expression. “Why?” “I listened to the call,” Bo admitted. “The anonymous caller had a very familiar voice.” Viki slapped the top of her leg. “I knew it! I knew she was doing this. I was just telling Charlie -- the chief of staff position is why she even got involved in Lowell’s campaign to start with.” “Because he was on the board?” Bo asked. “Yes, and he wouldn’t vote for her becoming chief of staff due to his ties with the current one … which I’m sure involved campaign contributions … and since we’re on the subject, perhaps even drugs?” They shared a collective sigh. Viki paused. “Again, to be fair, that is exactly why I decided to run for mayor as well.” “Because Dorian was supporting him?” Nora blinked. “Oh, goodness no,” Viki shook her head. “In fact, we didn’t even find out she was his campaign manager until after the decision was made. But she did help me realize that someone had to at least try to defeat Lowell.” “And she was the first to defend him. That’s rich.” Bo smirked. “But to her credit, she did get him to resign.” “And how did she get him to do that?” Charlie wondered. “Well, you know what?” Bo offered. “To me, that doesn’t matter as much as the end result. We’re finally going to have a new mayor.” He smiled at Viki. “And I’m able to do my job.  Lowell’s behind bars….” “…And Dorian’s a lesbian,” Nora grinned with glee as Viki rolled her eyes.  “Speaking of … does David still wander in here from time to time?” “Oh, yes he does,” Viki assured her. “Often. Usually on a mission.” “A Dorian-commissioned mission?” Nora smirked. “Well, you know as well as I do that there is no way this lesbian thing is even - by the widest stretch of the imagination - genuine,” Nora stated. “And yet,” Viki observed, “There really is no way to prove that or even insist upon it without aggravating the gay community – which, by the way, I still have somewhat solid support from.” “The reason I ask about David,” Nora elaborated, “… Does he still have feelings for her?” Viki smirked. “David’s sentimentality only goes so far as his libido, and yet, Dorian and David will always share a connection I don’t even want to start to contemplate.” Bo nodded agreement. “It’s sort-of tragic, you know?” Nora considered. “She divorced him – despite the fact that he was a Buchanan – presumably to be with Ray Montez. You remember how crazy she got after he left town.” “How could I forget?” Viki half-shuddered, and half-smirked. “And that happened right before all of this mayor interest came up.” “Then David comes back to town and gets caught up in this lesbian farce. She demotes him to make Amelia her campaign manager. You know this all has to be making him crazy.” Bo was a bit uncomfortable with the conversation. “I’m sure it is.” Viki was curious. “Where are you going with this, Nora?” “Well, I mean … maybe you can’t prove Dorian isn’t a lesbian right now….” “…But David can,” Viki knew. “... And he listens to you, and good ol’ Pa here,” Nora nudged Bo’s arm as she teased him. “I can’t believe you’ve had this ace up your sleeve this whole time and it hasn’t occurred to you to use it.” “Well, no offense to you, Nora, but I like to think I’m a bit bigger than that. Dorian plays in the mud and taunts me to get in with her, but I’d rather stand outside the ring and watch her make a ridiculous mess of herself for no reason. Case in point -- the LGLA.” “On the other hand,” Bo thought it out for them with startling reality, “While I would never presume that Viki doesn’t have a leg up in this election, we have Dorian on the other side with a pretty fair shot to be our next mayor – and under what we all assume to be a false pretense. You wouldn’t exactly have to get in the mud for her to look dirty all on her own.” “You’re encouraging this, Bo?” Viki gasped. “I’m just saying … there would be nothing dishonest about reminding David and Dorian of their deep-seated feelings for each other.” “I take it you’re not voting for Dorian then?” Charlie asked Bo, half-joking, and they all shared a chuckle over it. “Well, you’re right,” Viki acquiesced. “There would be nothing dishonest about it.  I just can’t help feeling a bit guilty at the thought that Dorian can be so easily manipulated.  For goodness sakes, she had a fit over The Banner publishing an article about Jared.” “What does that have to do with anything?” Bo asked. “It’s a … conflict of interests,” Charlie explained. “She was spouting some nonsense about media bias.” Nora snapped her fingers. “And that’s why she wanted to remain anonymous on the tip hotline.” Charlie couldn’t help his own observations. “I just wish someone had a tip about Jared.” “It’ll happen soon,” Bo assured him. “This whole chain of events has unraveled so fast….” Charlie nodded.  They sat in respectful silence for a moment. Viki changed the subject, hoping to ease Charlie’s mind again.  “You remember what Dorian said at her initial press conference?” “You mean when she hijacked the mic after Bo’s press conference?” Charlie clarified. Viki smirked. “She said, ‘I will never betray your trust … and I will always uphold your faith in American democracy.’ The sad thing is that she meant every word of that at the time.” “And then the LGLA knocked on your door instead of hers,” Charlie observed. Viki looked to Bo. She knew he understood what she was getting at. He nodded and muttered, “Easily manipulated.” “Are you sure this is a good idea?” Viki asked him. “Do you want to lock the election?” Bo answered. “I have a confession,” Nora smirked. She leaned forward as they looked at her. “I ordered a couple of wedding pictures I will never hang on my wall. I keep them tucked away just to remind myself of what an ass Dorian made of herself that day.” Viki was stunned. “You ordered wedding pictures of Dorian?” “Granted, at the time it was not cool,” Nora clarified, motioning with one hand, “But now when I look back I’m a little amused by it. First of all, she did it to herself. Second, imagine if she knew I had those pictures.” Bo was calm as he asked, “You weren’t thinking of feeding those pictures to the press?” Nora straightened her face into innocence and looked to each of them in turn. Her tone revealed that she was not sincere when she told them, “The thought hadn’t even occurred to me.” Viki couldn’t help but grin in amusement. Nora was entertaining. She elected to not respond one way or the other on the matter of the wedding pictures. Bo changed the subject again. “You know there’s something I never did get about that Ray Montez guy.”  He met the curious gazes of those around him. “He was in prison, he tried to take Langston from Dorian. I mean, Dorian was mad enough at the guy she was ready to do away with him even when she knew Clint was behind his coming here, and in a way, she could have even blamed him for her losing B.E. back to the family. Dorian married David just to get the Buchanan name back – you remember?” Nora and Viki shared a look. “How could we forget?” “You know – at least at the time – that was one of Dorian’s top priorities. She even went Buddhist over the whole thing.” “Yeah. Right,” Viki smirked. “But then,” Bo elaborated, “She’s going out on a date with Ray Montez? And after he leaves, does she get back with David? No. What the heck happened?” “She realized she was a lesbian,” Nora joked. “I don’t know,” Viki offered, “But if there is one thing I’ve learned over the years as far as Dorian is concerned, it is that if it doesn’t make sense, she’s probably up to something.” Viki looked over at Charlie, who seemed as concerned about what Dorian was up to as he did about Jared. That was wrong. She winked at him as she laced her fingers through his and squeezed his hand. Bo nodded. “Well, we have more important things to figure out than Dorian’s machinations at the moment. And we will,” he promised Charlie. Viki looked at Nora. She thought of asking her to leave the wedding pictures alone but decided to keep her attention on Charlie for the moment.

GOT7 AS: Managers in a Company
Just a few thoughts about what GOT7 would be like if they were managers/Head of Department in a company. Totally inspired by the fact that I’ve been watching the kdrama Chief Kim lately and corporate politics fascinates me.
Tumblr media
Mark
Tumblr media
Mr. Tuan is the head of the IT Department.
He works with computers and is the acknowledged technological genius of the company. It takes Mark Tuan exactly two minutes to scan a software and he can suddenly use it as though he designed it himself.
At the insistence of the employees from other departments, he regularly conducts tutorials and FAQ sessions to help employees better utilize the office software but nobody ever attends those. Instead, they just summon the IT Department to their desks whenever they can’t figure out something.
It makes Mark furious.
Sometimes there isn’t even any problem with the software. It’s just the female employees who have nothing better to do and want the chance to flirt with the cute guy from IT.
He was even slipped a man’s number once.
Mark finally ended up going to the CEO and making his tutorial sessions mandatory for all employees, So now on the first Tuesday of every month, all the employees have to gather in the auditorium for an hour and listen to Mr. Tuan give a lecture on the latest updates to the office Intranet and  explain how to use the software.
He knows it’s a waste of his time since people will keep calling the IT Department for help anyway, but Mark figures the least he can do is waste some of their time in exchange. It gives him a small sense of achievement to look at all their bored and miserable faces.
Mark is a silent genius when it comes to IT, but his managerial skills are... non-existent.
The IT Department essentially does whatever they feel like because Mark has never scolded his employees or even told them to get back to work.
His only strategy is non-interference. He doesn’t care if the employees are playing games during office hours (he often does so himself, with the door to his office locked and his secretary warned to send all visitors away) and even if he catches them in the act he never says a word.
But the employees know better than to completely neglect their work, because if they do, somebody from another department might file a complaint about them and that complaint would get forwarded to Mr. Tuan.
Complaints = Paperwork
There is nothing Mr. Tuan hates more than paperwork. The only time his smiling and handsome face turns dangerous is when somebody comes up to him with paperwork. He would rather install the intranet software into a hundred office computers than file a single report.
Mark doesn’t even remember the names of all the people who work underneath him in the department. So during performance reviews, everyone just gets a good/decent review because who knows how much work is being done by each employee? Certainly not Mark Tuan. He couldn’t care less.
Mr. Tuan has never worked a minute of overtime in his life.
He leaves the office at 5 pm sharp, every single day and he does not come in on weekends under any circumstances. I’m sorry, the company is about to fall to pieces and you need someone to fix the software? Sure, remind me first thing on Monday morning.
Orders pizza and coke for the entire Department whenever it’s somebody’s birthday (his secretary slides him a note to remind him whenever that is the case).
He’s a little absent-minded and clueless at times, but the entire IT department agrees that they pretty much lucked out getting Mark Tuan as a manager. They wouldn’t exchange him for the world.
Jaebum
Tumblr media
Mr. Im Jaebum manages the Production Department
Production and manufacturing isn’t easy work. There are deadlines to meet and quality standards to maintain. Production is the lifeblood of the corporation.
The quality of the products is extremely important to the company’s reputation and Im Jaebum does not compromise on anything. Everything has to be done perfectly and he expects his employees to come up with flawless results. He comes up with numbers and his employees have to bring them into existence.
But his expectations come with a responsibility of his own.
Jaebum takes excellent care of his employees. Even though the production goals he sets seem a little high at times, he also makes sure that every single employee, right down to the lowest factory worker is well-taken care of.
The company hasn’t faced a single worker’s strike since Mr. Im took over the Production Department. He can often be found arguing with the Directors and higher-ups to ensure better working conditions and benefits for his employees. A healthy workforce makes for a healthy company. He genuinely believes that his workers need to be happy for the department to function efficiently.
Mr. Im is both feared and respected.
He sometimes goes down the factories himself and conducts surprise inspections, so the warehouses and production facilities are always on high alert. But if the inspection goes well, then he treats all the workers to drinks after working hours end.
Jaebum sometimes gets a little drunk himself and does a really good impression of the CEO which gets everyone cracking up. But if anyone tries to take a video of him doing it, they’re going to be treated to a death glare.
Jaebum also secretly really adores kids, even though he doesn’t have any of his own. So he organizes a ‘bring-your-kids-to-work’ day twice a year. All the employees of his department can bring their kids to work to see what their parents do. Jaebum places a huge jar of candy on his desk and blushes whenever the kids come up to him. He’s too awkward to actually entertain them but he thinks they’re really cute.
He even let a particularly adorable five-year-old girl sit in his large, swirly leather office chair and wheeled her around like a rocket until he noticed the other employees were looking at him weirdly.
Even though Jaebum works them hard and enforces a lot of strict rules, everyone in the Production Department agrees that you can never find a manager more fair or just than Mr. Im Jaebum.
Jackson
Tumblr media
Mr. Jackson Wang is head of the PR Department: Public Relations is his natural calling.
Jackson is that guy who constantly has a little Bluetooth mic in his ear; it’s really hard to tell whether he’s addressing you in front of him or he’s just talking to somebody through the Bluetooth. He likes to pace up and down the main office while taking calls in a loud voice. It makes him feel important.
Jackson takes a lot of phone calls. Most of them aren’t even work related, he’s just chatting with people in high positions but he claims that “maintaining contacts” is what he’s getting paid for.
Mr. Wang also uses the company card a lot. He submits receipts for various clubs and restaurants that he took some big politician or journalist to. Jackson can often be found in the Finance Manager, Park Jinyoung’s office towards the end of the month, begging him to clear all sorts of absurd expenses made in the company’s name. They usually have an hour-long meeting in Mr. Park’s office and Jackson ends up paying for the events by himself.
He’s not the best problem-solver. Jackson’s solution to just about any problem is “let’s call for a press conference.”
- “Mr. Wang, it’s actually very important that we keep this information away from the press for the time being-”
- “Yeah, yeah, I get that. But don’t you think we should hold a press conference? I’ll set one up right away!”
Somehow, he’s extremely hurt and surprised whenever he finds out that he’s been kept in the dark about confidential company matters.
Whenever there is a press conference though, Jackson makes it the most flashy and extravagant event possible. He hands out imported care packages to all the journalists and gives them free hampers with company products.
Every minuscule charitable contribution the company makes is on international headlines the next day. Pictures of the CEO visiting orphanages and making donations to starving children in poor countries can be found all over the internet. Jackson put them there.
He has a special team of people dedicated to leaving nice comments about the company on all sorts of internet fora. Sometimes he logs on himself and responds to haters just for the hell of it. He also manages the company’s social media presence; they have an Instagram page, a Twitter page, a Facebook page and exist on pretty much every social media platform ever.
Jackson has an excellent employee incentive scheme. Friday mornings are brainstorming sessions and anybody who comes up with a good idea to boost the company’s image gets a special gift; usually an expensive bottle of wine Jackson scored from a guy he knows, or a little bonus. The Finance Department severely disapproves of this scheme, so the funds come directly from Jackson’s own pocket.
He also likes a comfortable and bright environment. The PR Department’s office spaces are all painted in colorful shades, with beanbags and funny-looking chairs and fluffy rugs. He tried to get a cafe installed but the Finance Department put an end to that nonsense very quickly.
Although Jackson can be a little wild and loud at times, everyone agrees that the PR Department is undoubtedly the most fun department to work in.
Jinyoung
Tumblr media
Mr. Park Jinyoung manages the Finance Department.
Before he turned up, the department was a corrupt mess. There were accounting scams everywhere, people at all levels of the corporate structure were siphoning off money whenever they pleased. Jinyoung personally tracked every single one of these people down and found proof that they’d been embezzling company funds.
Let’s just say that a lot of employees got arrested during the first two months of Mr. Park’s appointment. The PR Department was in panic (the only time Jackson Wang was forced to actually work overtime to ensure the entire company wasn’t labelled as corrupt by the media), but it worked out in the long run. Now the company is clean and Mr. Park does not compromise on integrity.
Jinyoung has one golden rule, which is written in bold letters and pasted on his office for everyone to see as they arrive. The sign reads ‘No Wasteful Expenditure’. There is nothing Jinyoung hates more than useless expenditure. Every penny spent must bring in some solid, traceable returns and that is how he runs the finances of the company.
He can regularly be seen arguing with Mr. Wang of the PR Department in his office. “Taking the journalists to a strip club is NOT a business expense! I refuse to sanction your reimbursements! Pay for your own entertainment!”
Jinyoung is also extremely stingy about allocating budgets to the Research and Development team. Kim Yugyeom can often be found in Mr. Park’s office as well, pleading for more funds while Jinyoung ignores him completely. “When is the last time your Department ever designed anything worth selling? All the money we’ve allocated you in the past is a sunk cost. Do you know what that means, Mr. Kim? It means it’s sunk to the bottom of the fucking ocean and we’re never getting that money back!”
Mr. Kim Yugyeom doesn’t ask for money anymore. R&D make do with what they have.
Jinyoung is extremely anal about his office space. The entire Finance Department is stuck with posters like “Reuse and Recycle” and there are reminders to turn off the lights when not in use. Jinyoung also insists that the air-conditioning be switched off for at least two hours every day. Even in summer. Sweating is good for your body.
The prevailing system is tough love. Jinyoung is harsh with employee performance reviews and getting a bonus is not easy if you work for the Finance Department. He’s also a micro-manager, requiring that every small thing be passed through him for approval.
Delegation is not a term well-respected in Mr. Park’s vocabulary. He doesn’t trust people to do things themselves. Sometimes he wanders around the employee’s desks for no reason, hovering over them like a schoolteacher trying to make sure the students aren’t cheating on an exam.
Whenever the auditing season is over, though, Jinyoung makes sure to throw a huge party for the accounting branch and invites the entire Finance Department. Work outings aren’t often but when they do take place, they get wild.
Overall, the employees of the Finance Department work hard and long hours, but they can’t really complain because Mr. Park works just as hard as them and he never sets any standards that he doesn’t follow himself.
Youngjae
Tumblr media
Mr. Choi Youngjae is the friendly Human Resources manager.
The HR Department is a very calm and peaceful place. Youngjae has strategically placed potpourri all over the Department office to disseminate calming fragrances and he keeps scented candles in his own office. It’s his way of relieving stress after a long day of dealing with people screaming at him.
“Yes, sir, I understand that you booked the conference room in advance and that the PR Department should not be allowed to play loud music and disturb your meeting. Yes, I’ll have a talk with Mr. Wang about this.”
“It does make sense that an executive of your level should be allowed to travel in business class, but it’s up to the Finance Department to allocate budget and sanction your... yes, I understand. I’ll talk to Mr. Park.”
The HR Department is essentially the anger management center for all the other employees. Many of the managers like to come and walk into Mr. Choi’s office at all times of the day to vent their problems to him. He’s often dealing with noise complaints filed against the PR Department and the Marketing Department.
His only friend in the office is Jaebum, who often comes to talk to him about employee benefits and payroll issues. Youngjae admires how passionate Jaebum is about worker’s rights and he generally backs him when trying to beg the Board to allow for an increase in wages or additional holiday bonuses for the employees. It’s the only time Youngjae’s job feels worthwhile.
Youngjae is also required to hold seminars and training courses on conflict resolution and workplace ethics every quarter. The sessions are largely pointless because they usually just end in Jinyoung making snarky remarks about how all of the other departments waste the company’s money and Jackson’s cellphone goes off every five minutes because he refuses to keep it on silent. Bambam and Yugyeom are usually entirely absent from the seminars completely; they translate seminar day to mean holiday.
Youngjae is extremely grateful to Mark and Jaebum for being the only two people who actually pay attention to his seminars, but they’re never involved in any conflict anyway so it makes no sense.
Youngjae also regularly has to talk to Bambam about taking too many vacations days. Somehow, the man turns up with perfectly valid medical certificates stating that he was ill even though everyone knows he went on a trip to Bangkok with his new girlfriend. Youngjae doesn’t really know how to deal with the problem. He chooses to ignore it.
On slow days, Youngjae brings his dog into work and spends the afternoon playing with Coco.
Overall, he’s an extremely sweet HR manager who secretly hates his job but puts up with it because he doesn’t know what else he would do. Also leaves work at exactly 5 pm sharp and sometimes runs into Mark in the parking lot.
Bambam
Tumblr media
Bambam runs the Marketing Department.
The Department is largely a mess. It’s meant to be a hub of creativity, and the office is filled with drawing boards and sticky notes and all sorts of scribbles all over the place.
A clean environment does not get one’s creative juices flowing.
Bambam also has dartboards with pictures of their major competitors set up all over the office. Employees are encouraged to use them often.
The job of marketing is to get products to sell and Bambam firmly believes that there is one foolproof way to do that; glamour.
He makes the company sign endorsement deals with almost every single famous celebrity in town; actresses, sports-persons, singers... Bambam knows them all and they’re all endorsing his products. If his team can’t come up with a good enough marketing strategy then they can just take their pick of all the celebrities Bambam has signed deals with and use one of them to endorse the product.
It’s not easy convincing Jinyoung to part with millions so that he can pay some famous actress to advertise their cosmetics line, but Bambam is better at wearing Jinyoung down than the other managers. Also, sales figures have been skyrocketing ever since Bambam took over so Jinyoung has a soft spot for him. At least he brings in results, unlike the R&D team.
Bambam maintains a very casual work environment with his employees. The moment their workload decreases, he’s usually off visiting some exotic foreign country. It’s surprising how he manages to get work done despite almost never being in his office; but Bambam parties hard and works harder.
He probably would have been fired by now if he hadn’t been bringing in so many sales, and if Youngjae hadn’t been too soft to bring up the matter of him overstepping his allocated vacation days.
All the same, all his employees love him.
Yugyeom
Tumblr media
Mr. Kim Yugyeom manages the Research and Development team
The R&D team was one of the biggest spenders in the company until Mr. Park Jinyoung was hired and slashed their budget in half. They’ve been struggling to operate since then, but their productivity hasn’t increased much. They still produce next to nothing.
Yugyeom always encourages his employees to share their wild and insane product ideas. Since the R&D department don’t actually have to show any concrete results, they can often be seen slacking off. Most of their ideas are insane from the start and could never have been implemented anyway.
The only productive research that was taking place through the R&D Department was in the cosmetics line, but Yugyeom had that research shut down after he found out that they were testing the cosmetics on little bunnies and mice. He spent the rest of the day locked up in his office watching PETA videos on the horrors of animal testing and crying himself to sleep.
It took the combined efforts of Youngjae and Bambam to reassure Yugyeom that he wasn’t responsible for the deaths of hundreds of animals and that he should just shift his focus to products which didn’t need to be tested on living things.
The biggest achievement of Mr. Kim’s career was convincing the company to start a line of chocolate milk-based products. It was a line of research that Jinyoung firmly refused to fund but that didn’t matter because Yugyeom and his employees were fully willing to test the product on themselves. They drank nothing but chocolate milk for an entire month before the product was finally approved for sale.
Nobody complained because Yugyeom looked so hopeful.
Bambam was so proud of his friend for having finally developed a successful product that he hired one of the most popular actresses to endorse it and the chocolate milk sold like hotcakes. It’s still one of the most popular milk brands.
On days when they don’t need to work because Youngjae is holding one of his workplace ethics seminars, he and Bambam go to the amusement park or the bowling alley and have the time of their lives.
Most of the employees in the R&D team love Yugyeom because, well, nobody every really does any work there and he doesn’t care either. Who wouldn’t love a manager like that?

BNHA Chapter 166: Thoughts and Spoilers
Hello again, this was a quality chapter that pulled on the heart strings a bit. So let’s get into it.
Everyone gets right into it. The high schoolers and the elementary kids get ready to throw down while the spectators are thinking, “are they really gonna fight?” One kid nearly hits Bakugou, I think Bakugou dodged it easy since there were no exclamation marks, but it seemed like a close call, ripping his mask off. Then Todoroki and Inasa get swamped with large amounts of dust. Then the rest of the kids tag in and the three of them seem totally overwhelmed. The kids show such a display of power that even Present Mic is impressed with the raw strength, and we get some explanation from meat-grinder dude. Since quirks are becoming more and more common, and blood lines keep mixing, future generations of quirks are going to become stronger and stronger, until the point that some fear, they will hit a “singularity.” This is frightening dude to the potential danger in something like that, but it is not something we will have to worry about in the near future (plus Chisaki managed to find a counter on low funds illegally, so I think if the government needed to, they could figure it out as well).
Back on topic, the high schoolers obviously shook off the attack because they are soon-to-be pros. Bakugou is pissed, Todoroki takes in the situation and Inasa wants them to all be friends. Then the leader (which was who I thought, heck yeah) told the kids to redouble their efforts and the girl that called Camie a “hussy” attacked Todoroki, who in turn spouted the most cheesy, romantic, shoujo (I believe that is the term) line about the girl being beautiful and having already fallen in love with her. She immediately stops the attack and this prince of romance Todoroki turns out to be an illusion by Camie. Comedy reasons aside, I am glad we got to see what her quirk is, because it confirms that she is not Toga, which we already knew but I like getting confirmation. SO back to the present Bakugou is genuinely laughing at this fake Todoroki. Like, genuine, hand-over-the-mouth, snorting, trying not to make a scene laughing, even going as far as telling Camie that she did good. Todoroki, with his minimal social skill, is trying to figure out why that was as funny as it was. (I am also interested in why Camie’s character box it is specifically stated that the illusion quirk is forbidden to be used abusively, Bakugou can literally blow things up with his hands, why does the illusion warrant this caution? Maybe due to its versatility and general subtlety?)
The leader of the kids starts to freak out and the high schoolers start to enact their plan. Which is absolutely amazing. They make a small theme park out of ice with the occasional rings of fire, Inasa is ferrying people to the top with his wind and Camie is bringing the northern lights into the building just for special effect. Inasa is saying that the kids are great and Todoroki is complimenting the kids on their quirks and for helping make the structure. They really did a fantastic job of being really cool while simultaneously are making the kids feel good about helping make this great structure. Not only are the kids stunned, but everyone watching is stunned as well. All Might put his hands together like he was really pleased and even Endeavor went a little wide eyed. We get to see in a minor flashback the process of coming up with the plan, and it is Bakugou that seemed to understand the most that this wouldn’t be something about winning or losing and Todoroki wants to broaden their outlook (which he says with one of the most heartfelt smiles I’ve ever seen him put on).
Bakugou goes straight up to the leader kid and tells him to participate. He tells the kid that “if all you ever do is look down on people, you won’t be able to recognize your own weakness.” He says this with a straight face, I wouldn’t go as far as saying it is vulnerable, but it isn’t his typical face of rage. He tells “Baldy” and Todoroki to take the kid to the top of the slide. These words actually reached the kid, who had seemingly stopped believing that anyone had the right to give him advice anymore. Beyond Bakugou’s interaction with the kid, I was also intrigued by how he has addressed people during this chapter. He called Camie “Ms. Illusion” and Inasa “Baldy.” While I can not read Japanese nor did I see any other translation for “Ms. Illusion,” it struck me as something oddly respectful, which Bakugou is not known for, it could be that her humor is what made Bakugou rank her so highly, but to start off with that level of respect (even though -san is pretty basic I believe) is odd. “Baldy” is about normal, taking a trait from someone and just using that as a name, so that does not surprise me, but what did surprise me is that he straight up calls Todoroki, Todoroki. I could be wrong but I don’t think he has even done that with Kirishima. I am not saying that Todoroki is closer to Bakugou than Kirishima, but I think it is worth noting that Bakugou cares enough to do that (I can’t seem to remember if Bakugou calls Uraraka by her name or not). **Also Camie is in the corner with the young girls dancing with an illusion Todoroki who seems to be jamming too**
Then we come to the last page. Inasa wants to make a bigger and better slide that  is more a roller coaster than anything. The elementary teacher is so grateful that she seems ready to cry (though if I had to deal with those kids, crying would probably become real easy). Then the combination of the last three panels really gets me. All Might asks Endeavor a rhetorical question, “for what reason are we equipped with our powers,” or something along those lines. Endeavor has a look on his face that I would describe as open, contemplative thoughtfulness, and this expression comes from All Might’s words while watching his son entertain a girl with fire, keeping her hands warm. In these two panels, we can see some really important stuff on both sides. Starting with Todoroki, his panel is incredibly important because he is using the quirk he associated with hatred, violence and pain to entertain a child, he is using the quirk that he had suppressed out of hate to make someone else happy. He is growing so much and so well, his development is really amazing. Endeavor on the other, we are starting to see the first steps of something good. Endeavor approached All Might to find what he was missing, and received an insufficient answer (in Endeavor’s opinion anyway), but then saw in his own son what he was missing. Whether he puts it all together and acts on it is another thing, as much as we all hate him, he is intelligent, and after this, he will more likely than not try to take baby steps in a new direction.
This chapter was a great example of character development on Todoroki’s, Bakugou’s, Inasa’s and even Endeavor’s part. I am really amazed with how these characters change and adapt to new situations, growing as people in general. I find it greatly comforting, because a lot of stories in books, movies, comics, manga, whatever, the characters always seem to be trapped in what they were and don’t do a whole lot of growing. Seeing angry characters mellow out, seeing ruthless characters empathize, seeing narrow-minded characters take a step back is so reassuring to me. Becoming who you want to be or becoming a better version of yourself can be a hard thing to properly show in characters that are two dimensional without the author pointing at what is happening explicitly. This chapter was rejuvenating after the emotional turmoil that was the last arc, and I am so glad that this arc is happening.
Well, that is about it. Thank you all for reading, and I hope you have a great day.

Note
I want to wait and see what the official translation says! Baku's response to Todoroki's reaction makes it seem like he's realizing that what he said was insensitive to Todoroki's bad childhood. I think Baku just comes from a shouty household and maybe got himself a smack to the back of the head when he was being a little shit (we've seen this happen on page). He doesn't seem to have been abused. Just raised with a firm hand? But who knows until we get the approved translation?
I’ll be honest, I’ve never extensively read the official Viz translations of BNHA throughout my enjoyment of the series. Apart from the excessive (but admittedly entertaining) swearing Bakugou does in scanlation rather than official translation, I mostly take online scanlations to be of a high enough quality and accuracy to consult for characterisation or meta.
That being said, from what I’ve seen in the tags about Katsuki’s remark as well as my own reaction to the latest chapter, I recognise that I have thoughts to share on where this concern for potential abuse in his childhood stems from. With the addition of this ask, I ended up writing an off-the-cuff meta exploring the implications that mentions of Katsuki’s upbringing has on his characterisation in this current arc. I didn’t link anything and any chapter titles I reference would have to searched up by anyone unfamiliar with or unsure about exactly what has unfolded where and when in the manga, but I’ve put it under the cut all the same.
On the likeliness, significance, and implications of Bakugou Katsuki having a violent upbringing
I admit that until we have further exposition or an official translation, ideas about Bakugou having been truly abused can only be speculation at this point.
But here’s the thing: for Horikoshi to make Bakugou mention that violence was how he was raised, it’s highly unlikely to be a throwaway remark; it will likely come back to have plot significance. And rereading the chapter, there’s even foreshadowing to support this idea from the perceptive grade school as well.
Your violent way of thinking is so outdated… You must have had a terrible upbringing.
This is the first mention of Bakugou having questionable upbringing in the chapter; the second is from Bakugou himself saying violence was a tool in how he was raised. My interpretation of this thematic repetition, by a character who is designed to be notably perceptive of Bakugou’s psyche along with Bakugou himself, convinces me that Horikoshi intends for this idea to amount to more than mere coincidence. For it to be decent storytelling, these mentions indicate that Bakugou’s upbringing must be a point of interest in this arc for his character development.
True, this may just be a bridge by which Todoroki and Bakugou can better understand each other. We finally have acknowledgement of Bakugou’s knowledge of Todoroki’s abusive upbringing as well, after all. This arc, among other things, will be the vehicle to develop Todoroki and Bakugou’s relationship, from Bakugou’s resentment towards Todoroki from the beginning at the outcome of the UA sports festival to their bickering from their few interactions during the Kamino arc, into something more of clearer, mutual understanding. The acknowledgement and reaction between the two characters surrounding Bakugou’s remark about violence being necessary, and him being raised by such a method, demonstrates Horikoshi’s intentions to develop their relationship.
However, with Horikoshi’s deliberate mentions about Bakugou’s upbringing, it raises the question: which of the two will receive more development to further their relationship through this potential plot point?
I don’t think Todoroki will stand to grow that much from that, nor too much from this arc on the whole. Of course, Todoroki will receive some spotlight; from Endeavour’s presence and Todoroki’s reactions to him from hereon out, Horikoshi will likely exhibit how much he’s grown since his character arc in the UA sports festival. But that’s mainly what will be done with Todoroki: exhibiting growth, rather than instilling it. Compare Todoroki now, how he would genuinely open his heart to a group of grade schoolers, with how he closed himself off at the sports festival. Ample time and story has been dedicated to Todoroki’s childhood, his ideals, and his path forward in the narrative already. For Todoroki, this current arc will likely focus on demonstrating what he’s had to show for it, like as a confrontation between the Todorokis as father and son (especially considering that Endeavour may also undergo some change of heart, however small, through his conversations with All Might so far). Todoroki’s past coverage is one of the reasons why I think considerably more weight should be given to Bakugou and his upbringing in this arc, and that this arc will be pivotal in Bakugou’s character growth.
In addition, comparing Bakugou’s character to those of the other main students  in the remedial license arc is a strong indication of how important this arc stands to be in Bakugou’s development. Because the one to learn the most from the remedial hero license training (and thus this arc) out of the four candidates, Todoroki, Inasa, Camie, and Bakugou, is Bakugou himself.
Consider the other main students. Todoroki and Inasa, had they not been caught up in a feud in causes originating from Endeavour’s behaviour, would likely have passed the initial hero license exam. Camie wasn’t even present due to Toga’s interference and shapeshifting. Though she seems air-headed, from her interactions with the other heroes and children, Camie doesn’t seem like she would have failed in cooperation or compassion like the boys did. On the other hand, the one who failed the hero license exam entirely independently was Bakugou. From his lack of compassion towards the helpless that heroes are meant to protect, it makes sense that this arc will see him growing the most from his recent failings. The uncannily insightful kid who comments on Bakugou’s personality and Present Mic’s commentary on how Bakugou’s aggressive techniques are ‘doomed to fail’ exhibit his current areas for growth clearly enough. Likely, Todoroki’s experiences and own growth will be used to aid Bakugou to find his own compassion in obtaining his license now, and perhaps becoming a hero in the future.
It is this expectation of Bakugou’s growth I’ve come to have from this arc combined with what we know of his motivations as a character so far that has made me suspicious about how he was raised. To that end, let’s consider what we know of Bakugou’s character so far.
For starters, there’s an obvious question when it comes to his character: how does someone so aggro come off thinking he can be a successful hero? Even the Villain Association, antithesis to heroism, pegged the guy as a worthy potential ally. And, for the most part, we know why Bakugou wants to be a hero and his motivations: it all revolves around triumph, around victory. His ideals are so strong in this, there’s little to zero chance he’d defect to villainy. His capture in the Kamino arc proves that, rest assured, for all his personality flaws, he will stop at nothing to become a strong hero.
Bakugou’s core volition on becoming a hero may be clear, but there are still confusing and even alarming aspects to his character, mainly in the inordinate amount of respect he accredits to physical power. This belief system seems to influence his worldview and behaviour the most, which is seen in his idolisation of All Might, and his distaste towards Izuku. He looks up to All Might’s strength and ability to defeat those weaker than him, and, rather than wanting to emulate him like Izuku initially does, Bakugou vows to defeat him by his own power. In Bakugou Katsuki: Origins, Izuku, who for so long symbolized weakness and powerlessness (quite literally, when Izuku was actually quirkless) in his eyes, repulsed Bakugou so much that in their mid-term practicals, he would rather controvert his ideals on victory than cooperate with him. In fact, it’s only after Bakugou challenges Izuku to the brawl that leads to their house arrest later on that he is able to view Izuku with begrudging respect, as well as somewhat sort out his own confusion and helplessness leftover from the Kamino arc. Time and time again in the narrative, violence is shown to be instrumental in how Bakugou processes emotions and views respect.
On top of this, consider how Bakugou is anxious to grow and climb towards the summit of becoming the no. 1 hero. He had his superiority complex largely (though by no means entirely) dismantled in Bakugou’s Starting Line; he’s no longer under the illusion that he is effortlessly the best like he was led to believe in his childhood. Combined with how Izuku’s startling rate of growth has repeatedly intimidated him, it only makes sense that Bakugou would go through great means to develop himself to match up to and ultimately beat Izuku. He’s smart and highly capable, both mentally and physically. It would make sense he would go through any amount of training that would guide him to be the best hero, and that he would want to change his behaviour accordingly to achieve that goal.
But Bakugou, on his own merits, failed the hero license exam, and not once has it occurred to him that his behaviour must change if he wishes to become a hero. This aspect of his character has not grown or changed in the least from his treatment of the rescue victims in the license exam to the grade schoolers he needs to face for remedial classes. Not even in the time it took for Izuku and co. to rescue Eri has he shown a hint of any change of heart. Even though he’s had his failures spelled out to him in his quest to be the no. 1 hero so explicitly, Bakugou’s way of handling situations through violence remain unchanged.
Why wouldn’t Bakugou show self-awareness on his abrasive, violent methods if he’s serious about being a top hero? What does this mean about his character and backstory?
From considering all the above, my belief is that Bakugou’s upbringing plays a huge role in answering this question. It provides the basis for theories that his upbringing isn’t merely the slapstick humour many have come to interpret the glimpse of his family dynamic earlier in the story.
All Might himself has internally remarked on how dysfunctional the Bakugou family dynamic was during Home Visits. Mitsuki, while perceptive as a mother would tend to be about her son’s personality, did not hold back on calling him names and slapping him upside the head in front of his teachers. Whether that counts as abuse or merely a firm hand can be under contention until we see more backstory, but the fact remains that the Bakugou mother-son interaction and All Might’s reaction to it highlights it as abnormal. But then the narrative moved on from it, with not many hints of returning to it soon.
And that’s the thing: we only saw the family interaction as a one-off instance, and it was played off in a way that could be interpreted as slapstick. No attention was brought to it again until this current chapter, where Bakugou promises to come to the fore and grow from this. These references to his upbringing aren’t a mere throwback to a humorous, if problematic moment. The promise of deeper exploration and potential revelations from Bakugou’s upbringing forms the crux of what I think many readers’ concerns involve with him being potentially abused, or at least undergoing a childhood less compassionate than a loving family would or should have.
The implications of Katsuki being repeatedly hit and called names as punishment in his household from childhood are far-reaching, and explain much about his aggressive and violent mindset in the current story. He is fixated on exacting physical punishment and subjugation on a group of grade schoolers, and projects onto them a ruthless hierarchy, a figure of power that dominates the pack. He openly advocates for violence as, at least sometimes, a necessary means to an end of discipline. And, until Todoroki says otherwise, he doesn’t think that suggesting violence, or overpowering and humiliating a grade schooler, is an unusual or ‘unique’ way of thinking in the least; he even defends it saying that that was way he was raised. And he’s all too gleeful when it does come to a violent showdown with the grade schoolers that the chapter closes off on. It’s time for Bakugou’s natural tendency towards violence to be explained directly in the narrative, rather than passed off as an inherent attribute as it has been presented as so far.
In sum, Bakugou naturally turns to almost extreme shows of violence and subjugation and views it as typical. The most probable cause of this is that the way he was raised normalised his violent way of thinking, to the point that he wouldn’t recognise it for the obstacle it has repeatedly proven to be in his quest to become a successful hero. It is the attention that Horikoshi has decided to accord to what has been briefly established before as a dysfunctional family dynamic that strongly suggests that the violence in the Bakugou household is more than slapstick humour, and that the significance of his upbringing will play a considerable role in this arc that sets the stage for Bakugou’s growth in coming chapters.

OH RIGHT
I enjoyed a lot of podcasts this year
1. The Bugle
The joy of the Bugle this year was discovering who did and didn’t work in the rotating cohost spot; happily I feel like the best of the new folks are significantly better at the job of managing/coping with a pun-based satirical podcast led by Your Wacky Dad than John Oliver was, and also happily made my podcast feed less straight, white, and male, which is sorely needed at this point.  The stories Anuvab Pal brings in from India alone make him a strong MVP candidate.  (I think he’s also the best pure comic they have.)  In the end though I have to give the nod to Alice Fraser, who does what nobody else can: she’s capable of breaking Zaltzman’s momentum.  It’s a thing of beauty that this invulnerably pointless man has met his match in an extremely rude Australian woman who will happily match him pun for pun.
2. Crime In Sports
This is a true crime podcast where two basic white dude comedians you’ve never heard of tell the life stories of professional athletes who end up in jail - stories which inevitably bring up issues of race, class and mental illness - and I will tell you that they do okay with that stuff, not perfect, but okay,  and that exceeded my expectations to the point where I ended up listening to enough of it to start to care about these mooks and their in-jokes and their running gags, and again, I seem to have a soft spot for dumb guys who are doing their best, and I probably got more laughs out of this thing than any other podcast I listened to this year.  Your mileage will probably vary.
3. Nancy
WNYC’s Gay Podcast, hosted by two Asian urban millennials who in their cohosting rapport demonstrate and embody WLW/MLM solidarity at all times. It’s exactingly correct about things and is what I listen to after Crime in Sports to detox.   It’s also pretty good journalism, if you’re a fan of/can stomach the studiedly casual bespectacled “umm”-ing modern NPR vibe which has become de rigeur with this kind of thing.   The episode where a younger butch woman finds the older butch woman who gave her her “ring of keys” moment and tells her what she meant to her will make your heart explode.
4. The Adam Buxton Podcast
OK, Zaltzman isn’t really your wacky dad - he’s more your weird uncle.  Adam Buxton is absolutely 100% your wacky dad, and he’s trying his best.   He’s the middle aged guy who asks dumb questions about race and gender because he genuinely wants to understand - the aging hipster who took being right on for granted and is gamely trying to keep up as the world shifts around him.   He’s kind of like Marc Maron in that respect, and in a number of others; the podcast follows the same basic format as WTF, and Buxton is the same kind of insecure overcompensating former cool kid that Maron is, except replace the aggression and Jewish neurosis with the deeply repressed performative childishness of an English public schoolboy.  Reading back I have failed entirely to make this seem enticing, so let me highlight the bit of this that works; Buxton starts every podcast with a walk through the countryside with his dog, who he talks to sometimes.  Buxton is cozy.  If you like the Maron idea but don’t like all the personal abrasiveness, this one may be for you.
5. Killing the Town with Storm and Cyrus
To explain this podcast I am going to have to tell you a story.
The first thing that you have to know is that Calgary is generally considered to be the capital of Canadian professional wrestling, because the Hart family is from there, and Bret Hart is the most famous Canadian wrestler of all time.  But: earlier this year a tweet made its way around wrestling social media suggesting that Winnipeg should actually be considered the wrestling heart of Canada, because while Calgary might have given us Bret and Owen and Lance Storm,  Winnipeg gave us Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega and Cyrus.
To which even hardcore wrestling fans might reply: who the hell is Cyrus?
It turns out that Don “Cyrus” Callis, AKA the Jackyl, was a) responsible for the tweet and b) a complete nobody who was on TV for a cup of coffee in the late 90s and hadn’t been seen since.  The closest he came to mainstream success was as the manager of a justly-forgotten WWF heel faction called the Truth Commission, a group of pro-Apartheid afrikaaner militiamen.  (1996 was a very, very bad year for professional wrestling.) He almost became the manager of a group called the Acolytes, who were at least kind of a big deal during the attitude era, but after his first TV appearance with them (in which he got on the mic and shouted “VIOLENCE TURNS ME ON”) he was fired.  He bounced around ECW and TNA and that was it.
Cyrus had also just started a podcast with Lance Storm, on which he claimed to the best talker the business had ever seen, among other things.   It became clear to listeners that while he may not ever have caught the brass ring, he was a wrestler to his core - i.e., a bullshit artist, a carny and a fraud - and that he had paid his dues working shit matches in the middle of nowhere Canada when he was a kid, and was now happy to spend a seedy retirement bullshitting with his friend Lance and pretending to be a forgotten legend.
Except things kept happening for Cyrus.  Piggybacking on that tweet and the imaginary Calgary/Winnipeg feud, he became a public champion of Kenny Omega, the hottest name in pro wresting outside of WWE, and a man who didn’t have a lot of supporters among the old guard.   Omega met up with Cyrus because of this (it turns out Cyrus’ old manager the Golden Shiek was Kenny’s uncle!), and put in a good word with his bosses at New Japan - and suddenly Cyrus became one half of NJPW’s English commentary team.  (This improved their commentary immensely, to the point where the wrestlers complained when NJPW used Jim Ross for their American special.)  Callis then used his position to broker the hottest wrestling angle of the latter half of 2017 - he approached Chris Jericho with the idea of wrestling Omega in Japan, Jericho’s first match outside of WWE in decades - and managed to get himself in the ring when the angle played out, getting laid out by Jericho as he tried to defend Omega, his friend and meal ticket.
It was then announced that Cyrus had been hired to be a new Vice President of TNA/Impact Wrestling (in its umpteenth rebranding and reshuffle of the year.) In this capacity he will be co-booker for the whole promotion.  As of this writing he has yet to be forced out.
So: in a way this podcast itself is the wrestling story of the year.  It’s also pretty entertaining, albeit absolutely saturated with ads, as one might expect from a pair of born grifters.  Lance Storm is a smart dude with mostly good opinions and fun delivery and Cyrus is a lovable scumbag.  They do their share of complaining about how young wrestlers these days don’t know how to throw a punch but because Cyrus is obligated to defend Omega at every turn they can’t drop too far into old coot territory, and because Storm trained several of the current new crop of wrestling women he is at pains to put over women’s wrestling whenever he can, even as Cyrus is a poop about it.  They get people on to interview who you’ve never heard of but who were allegedly legendary to someone at some point in some territory or other and who all have insane stories, some of which might even be true.   It’s a fine time, and if current trends continue Cyrus will be WWE head of developmental by this time next year, so stay tuned.

Guest Columnist: Walker
Please enjoy our friend Walker’s musings on why we continue to subject ourselves to public karaoke. We’ll be back with more answers to your pressing questions next week!
I’m honored to be invited by Karen & Sarah to expound on what, in conversation last week, I off-handedly called the “tension/catharsis performance.” This column could be framed as an answer to the question, “what do you do when there are bad vibes at karaoke?” It could also answer the second-most asked question among my karaoke crew (after “do you know what you’re singing?”) which is: “why do we keep doing this?”
Why, that is, have we returned to the same dive for over a decade, subjecting ourselves to the kid on bad drugs who won’t get offstage, the drunken barfly who wants to grind on me while I sing, the recreational kickball team who mill around the stage like it’s a freshman orientation mixer, the gross bro who is treating us (via RHCP) to the musical equivalent of street harassment, the class of voice majors staging a po-faced Disney revue, or just run-of-the-mill passive aggressive cold shouldering?  If you encountered these vibes in a regular bar you’d ignore them or, barring that, pack up and leave. Though this think piece might make it seem otherwise, I'm generally drama-adverse. It’s a tougher call, though, when you’re standing in the spotlight after waiting patiently for 45 minutes (be honest, you’ve been waiting all week) to sing Loverboy’s “Turn Me Loose,” anticipating nothing short of the song’s requested liberation.
Public karaoke at its best is actually fun - repurposing expired pop culture into a dialectical, participatory exchange that’s simultaneously frivolous and intimate.  But karaoke is rarely at its best. More often, it’s a tragedy of the commons. Making a bunch of randos queue up for a moment in the spotlight is a recipe for bad vibes, often compounded by DJs who are incompetent, mad with power, or both.  It's as inevitable as it is petty. Maybe for well-adjusted people this isn’t a big deal.  My crew feels genuinely burdened by it. It is noble to suffer for one’s art, but not even I will claim that this applies to karaoke. Yet we keep coming back, dumb animals returning to the watering hole. Though fraught with danger - predators and parasites - it’s the only source of a life-giving resource.
The bad vibe is waiting when Reggie’s called to sing “Mr. Jones” (aside: “Mr. Jones” should only be attempted publicly after years or days of serious self-reflection). Aforementioned dead-eyed drug kid has established himself on stage, the room's communal albatross. If you can’t ignore him, and don’t want to leave, what’s left? Why, the tension/catharsis performance. Identify the source of the bad vibe, obvious in this case, stare it right in the face and sing directly to it, subsume it into the performance; absorb its fetid, bad energy and wield it on your own ridiculous terms. We’re suddenly watching the angriest rendition of “Mr. Jones” ever performed. “Grey is my favorite color!” Reggie decrees vehemently into drug kid’s face. Reduced to a mere prop, the kid can now be pushed aside, which is literally what Reggie does. If the tension escalates, all the better, because it's just a silly show now.  Everyone in the room is watching, too, a karaoke coup on any night. When the final tortured scream dies in the PA, the tension dies with it. Drug boy shuffles off. People laugh. Catharsis achieved.
The tone and content of a tension/catharsis performance are as circumstantial as the bad vibes necessitating it, but this should never get too serious. Rather, it is karaoke’s nonseriousness, its tendency toward parody and self-deprecation, which facilitates conflict mediation. Take the drunken lady who mistakes my choice of “Pony” for an invitation to grope. Assaulter or not, screaming the lyrics at her hatefully feels like the wrong choice. The mic stand is a crucial prop for that song, though. You can ride it, you can swing it like a polo stick, and it turns out you can wield it like a goddamned lion tamer’s chair to fend off horny old ladies. Tension/catharsis.
Of course, there are vibes beyond bad: legit threatening vibes, for instance. Karaoke is a gamble, to which Kenny Rogers’ immortal advice amply applies. It’s not unusual that proceedings will break down irreparably, every song suddenly an ordeal. Know when to walk away and definitely know when to run. And even for mundane bad vibes my approach doesn’t always work. Those adult kickball players? Totally impervious to a large man passionately singing “Cry Little Sister” while standing in their conversation circle. The public is fickle, and if you’re batting .400, you’re the Ted Williams of tension/catharsis karaoke.
Speaking of sports, I feel compelled to note that ours is hardly the only hobby that cultivates arbitrary hostilities among its enthusiasts. But that's a flaw not a feature of karaoke, and so it never has to be the last word. Take the night Karen & Sarah published the initial piece that led to this series, about that mental list of “never want to hear it again!” songs every karaoke enthusiast has. “Sing This, Not That” politely recommended alternatives to some ubiquitous punishers, including 4 Non-Blondes’ oft-screeched power ballad “What’s Up?” I enjoyed the article, but never entertained that it would have tangible repercussions. Holding strong opinions about karaoke often feels quixotic, to say the least.
Then that very night, to our utter shock, a stranger takes the mic, asks the DJ for a moment, and issues a passionate denouncement of Karen and Sarah while defending the honor of “What’s Up?” Quickly recovering ourselves, the crew shower this man with a cacophony of heckles and raw bad vibes before he's even finished his spiel. It's his turn to be taken aback, but rather than shutting him down we now find ourselves on the receiving end of a shade-drenched, tension/catharsis performance of “What’s Up?” When the pandemonium subsides, as abruptly as it began the night’s beef reconstitutes into mutual respect and understanding. If this last scenario reads a little ironic, it well illustrates the point I'm trying to make here.
In conclusion (finally): karaoke provides the instrumentality to diffuse incidental tension through absurdist performance and, albeit on a micro-scale, to improve social relations in real time. That may not raise it to the level of a true art form or anything but, for better or worse, it gives us one more reason to come back and do it again (and again, and again).

WWE Wrestlers Released in 2017
I'll publish about the W.W.E globe title regulars.
The massive Demonstrate
Now he is O.K occasionally as well as other moments he is unexciting. Rather a lot relies upon on if he is heel or experience. He is exciting when he's heel, but stale when he's confront. He is an everyday, no matter that which you fellas consider. His knockout punch shouldn't be a finisher, but should or not it's for a number of from the powerhouses? one or 2 is fine, but at the moment I am able to feel of four (Massive Present, Undertaker, Kane, and the Great Khali). Given that W.W.E will probably not have a great deal of optimistic votes and the Massive Demonstrate is definitely entertaining often (one thing that some regulars can't pull off), I give him a positive one for the Big Demonstrate.
Wrestlers Fired In 2016 Where Are They in 2017
Rey Mysterio
He is an frustrating standard. Yea he's a superb highflyer, but guys like Evan Bourne and John Morrison are way better. The 619 is definitely an bothersome finisher, but his roll-up finisher (Of course it truly is a finisher because he ends most matches with it) is all the more irritating. It his his fault that Dolph Ziggler by no means obtained the Intercontinental Championship. Kane could have been pushed to visit Fatal 4 Way, however they instead experienced to put this regular. I hope he departs from W.W.E quickly. I give W.W.E a -1 for Rey Mysterio.
Randy Orton
Did you fellas realize that Orton obtained Mr. Kennedy fired? If I could I might give Randy Orton a -1,000, but hey I need to adhere to my very own principles. The R.K.O is classified as being a finisher? What had been they pondering when they gave him that "finisher"? You need to know a good cutter finisher? The Accident (Matt Hardy does is way much better than Jeff due to the fact Jeff helps make it evident that he lets go) is way better. The punt kick is not inventive in any respect. It isn't going to even go good along with his gimmick. Like there are many finishers that go excellent for people's gimmick, like Edge's spear. Edge suppose to be sneaky, as well as the Spear will help. Randy Orton's finishers are awful. He is unexciting on the mic and in the ring. He is the worst backstage due to the fact he gets talented individuals fired. If he got Kennedy fired, who else acquired fired by him? Kennedy may be the only one we know of. Probably he was driving the firing of Mike Knox, Elijah Burke, D 'Lo Brown, Jesse Tony Atlas, Jimmy Wang Yang, Huge Daddy V, and even more. I don't know the main reason powering absolutely everyone, but possibly Randy Orton acquired several of them fired. I give W.W.E a -1 for Randy Orton.
Triple H
Do you ever wonder why he has knee troubles? Since A bunch of HIS MOVES Require THE KNEE!! Let us take a look at his go arsenal. He has the Knee Facebuster, Knee Trembler, Pedigree, Operating Knee Fall, along with the Diving Knee Fall. If he botches then he could simply injure his knee. Equally as prolonged as he will not go blaming is on other superstars (we do not want several Randy Ortons, or at the least I don't). His Pedigree appeared very good back then. Now it just seems to be various. It doesn't appear nearly as good because it did back then, His Spinebuster is really great. A good H.H.H Go that doesn't include the knees? Hold out, I am going overboard. I'm just speaking about his finishers. He isn't going to ought to have for being a daily. He's overrated and he is uninteresting about the mic. His outdated D-X days have been very good (with X-Pac, Highway Dogg, Chyna, H.B.K, and Billy Gunn). Triple H today are, effectively not as good. And he isn't excellent adequate to acquire W.W.E a good vote. I give W.W.E a -1 for H.H.H.
The Undertaker
How could I put this. Nicely umm, HE Missing MY Respect WHEN HE Grew to become THE "AMERICAN BADASS"!!! That experienced to become his worst gimmick. Many people will get mad at me for expressing that, but I'm sorry for telling you the reality. Chuck Palumbo (maybe Orton acquired him fired way too) pulled a motorcycle gimmick off nicely. Way better compared to the Undertaker. The Hell's Gate is really a negative finisher for that Undertaker. I am curious of the things they will do together with his streak. I hope Kane does not stop it mainly because it will be way too obvious and never a surprise. I also hope none of the regulars stop it. You understand who I need to finish it? John Morrison, Vance Archer, Dolph Ziggler, William Regal, Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, Chris Masters, Shad, or J.T.G. There are a lot more who ought to, but I will not make a gigantic list. The one particular who I do think will stop it is going to be Ted DiBiase. Not just my 1st decision, but it is far better than other choices. He is unexciting around the mic as well as in the ring. His promos are all of the identical. His matches are all the very same, apart from his opponents. When was the last time he dropped a one on 1 match by pin or submission? I need to view what would happen in a cage match among Undertaker and John Cena. I'm curious who W.W.E Could have earn. I give W.W.E a -1 (do not regret that) for the Undertaker.
Edge
Do I actually need to elucidate? EDGE Is the greatest Typical!!!!! Equally as long as he stays away from currently being a confront. Spear Spear Spear Spear.... That was Bothersome AS HELL!!!!!!!!! Do not get me incorrect, the spear is an efficient transfer for his gimmick (as explained before). I just never like that he consistently gets a shot. Like he was hurt to get a very long time, but he comes again and previously will get a shot, but who didn't see it coming. I was hoping that he would not return in the Royal Rumble. I wonder who'd have gained if he failed to return, nevertheless it possibly might have been a regular. He ought to use his Edgecution and Edge-O-Matic as actual finishers. Like he must end matches with those 2 moves. Why are signature moves utilized? To produce the opponent search stronger. Like below are illustrations of moves which are signatures that individuals barely win by that. John Morrison's Taking pictures Star Press, Triple H's Spinebuster, R.V.D's Break up Legged Moonsault, Chris Jericho's Lionsault and Enziguri, and Kane's Sidewalk Slam. I hope I obtained my position across about signature moves. Edge isn't going to are worthy of to get a daily; don't forget, I'll say who does are worthy of it. I give W.W.E a one for Edge.
Chris Jericho
I'm almost from area, so I'll should be transient. I do have to rant on Cena, say who should be a regular, and say my predictions. So sorry hardcore Jericho followers, but I will minimize things short. He's very good about the mic, he has great finishers and signatures. He is very good in the ring. I just do not like how he returns soon after an extended absence and receives an instant title shot. Which was just poor on W.W.E creative's behalf. I give W.W.E a 1 for Chris Jericho.
John "Superman" Cena
Yea there are plenty of Cena supporters reading this, but listen to me out. He is unexciting in segments and in the ring. His moveset, well all five moves are irritating. Why does he scream when he applies the S.T.F.U (not likely to get sucked into contacting it by the "other name". I dislike P.G greater than you fellas)? Why does he scream in each and every phase? Why is he an everyday? Why just isn't he a jobber? The reason for him currently being an everyday is the majority of the W.W.E universe's fault. Due to the fact many people nevertheless cheer for him, by his goods, and ask for him to the Produce a Would like Basis. On account of the blunders by several of the W.W.E "fans" (they are not true wrestling supporters if they like him), he is now while in the title picture. He's in now in no storyline other than title storylines. Hey this rant was shorter than anticipated. Take into account which i am exhausted as I am creating this.
