Imagine a borrower living in a apartment complex and one day a new bean moves in. The borrower notices that this new bean has an apartment that is easy to travel through. There’s always something to help them climb up onto shelves and tables. They think it’s weird but free easy borrowing is still free and easy.

One day though they are sneaking around and they see another borrower in the new bean’s apartment. This new borrower then gets super excited and so does the borrower. They run up to each other and excitedly shout “I haven’t seen another borrower/Sizeshifter!” They both freeze realizing the other isn’t what they think they are.

OR (a different encounter)

The borrower is seen by the bean and the bean just says “it’s okay” and they slowly shrink down to be level with the borrower, “I won’t hurt you”

Basically a borrower meeting a sizeshifter not knowing they are a sizeshifter is a concept I need more of.

What if Chay, after The Song, writes and posts his response. Kim jumps on it, writes another song in response to that, Chay does the same. They have this back and forth for months, publicly working through their breakup through soulful, euphemistic music. Except no one knows what’s going on, because the songs are never a direct reply, they don’t tag each other in posts, they don’t ever actually interact.

Eventually, as Chay’s popularity rises, some astute fans put it together. They connect the suspiciously timed uploads from both of them, the lyrics that miiight be in reference each other’s past songs. Chay’s follower count skyrockets overnight once people put it together that, even though he’s posting under a pseudonym, he’s that Porchay.

Neither of them confirms or denies anything. They still don’t interact. Fans speculate on what happened—clearly a messy breakup, but aside from the first song or two from Chay, the tone isn’t angry. It’s betrayed, but the songs from both of them are full of longing. Clearly whatever happened between them is unfinished; it wasn’t a clean break.

When they finally finish working through things enough that they can have a conversation about it offline, their fans finally get closure in the form of a collaboration. Kim and Chay record a duet, and this time, it’s full of love and forgiveness, setting the perfect tone for their new beginning.

instead of mycelium the shopping district is covered in warped nylium

false runs the place more like a mafia boss than a mayor

she enlists cleo to create new mobs to scare the hermits (they become the new nether mobs) and force them to pay so she protects their shops

cleo is extremely proud and surprised that she created whole new species through giving life to her armor stand 'monsters'

joe is still running around with his dogs

scar runs the resistance for grass against false and his story stays very similar

after false tries to raise her price on her protection and raises taxes they all settle it through minigames

grass wins the minigames which means the shopping district has to go back to grass

because grass won though scar and bdubs also get put into office to keep false in check

they do allow false to keep her shops all nethery

the hermits just kinda accept the new mobs now cause they can't just get rid of them (cleo refused)

i think introducing new characters was a very smart move by bandai namco/supermassive games actually. six and mono's story was created by tarsier studios and since they're not working on ln anymore, introducing new characters means they can explore more of the little nightmares world without messing with and potentially fucking up the already established characters
