I think that one docent analysis post is a bit off because it went a little into what a “docent” might want. conceptualizing the docent as an entity that would be invested in protecting the art & retaliating when people touch the art doesn’t quite work because min-gi starts shivering in the car before ryan touches the sculpture. also, if the docent was acting in accordance with its namesake, it would’ve gone after ryan, not min-gi, since ryan was the one who touched the sculpture and full-bodied the painting. what I’m trying to say is maybe the docent doesn’t have rules it follows that would allow you to safely pass through the car without engaging with it. maybe the docent just wants to kill you <3
