Wait, how much time have spent in the story from Chapter 1 to 12?!
I remembered Leo said 2k12 Leo was infected by krang just six hours ago
From chapter 1 to chapter 12 is roughly 20 hours.
Tumblr media
Their birthday party is obviously sometime at night. Leo says that they had pizza for dinner and cake, so their party probably was an hour or so. While they’re out on the roof tops you can clearly see it’s nighttime, maybe 10 or 11pm. A few hours after that, let’s say 1 am, they discover the Kraang and fall into the Rise Universe.
Tumblr media
Leo states that it’s probably around the same time there as back home, so they only will have about 4-5 hours or so until sunrise. They meet the Rise turtles, and after some pizza end up crashing in one of their room for the rest of the night. Well, accept for Leo and Raph, who probably only slept for 20 to 30 minutes before going off on their next adventure.
Tumblr media
You can see in this page that the sun is rising from the East. It’s probably around 5-6am when the harbor get’s blown up.
Tumblr media
While that’s happening, Mikey and Donnie even say that they haven’t been sleeping for that long, and that it’s about morning.
Tumblr media
Later when 12 April and Casey meet Rise Leo, she explains basically everything I just said. “They disappeared sometime last night after their birthday party. We thought they had gone home, but this morning we discovered that they hadn’t been back since we last saw them.”
Tumblr media
A short while after that, the Donnies meet up with Casey Leo and April and you can see in this cut to a little blurb of Draxum that it’s the insufferably early hour of 9am.
There aren’t many clues to infer durning Leo and Raph’s fight, but as the author I will tell you that it’s 10am when they get their mystic weapons and another hour until they get to the abandoned subway station. Their fight doesn’t actually last that long, maybe 10 to 15mins, but it’s very action packed. A little while after that and the others come. So we’ll say it’s maybe 11 ish when it cuts to them on the train headed for Splinter April and Casey’s location.
Tumblr media
Splinter states that they’ve been waiting over and hour for them to come. They were most likely supposed to meet there at the same time and Rise Donnie admits that in addition to poor scheduling, they also had a few “technical difficulties” (12 Raph and Leo). By now it’s 1 or 2 in the afternoon, and they’re plotting their next move.
Tumblr media
When Donnie is talking with Splinter about Leo’s issues, he estimates that the pills he gives Splinter will last a few hours, so you assume that the entirety of the TCRI debacle was 3 to 4 hours.
Tumblr media
A little after that, you can see in this panel that the sun is up in the sky, though not quite perfectly, it’s early afternoon and there’s a storm brewing. (If I’m totally honest I fudged the sun a little because it looks cooler like this)
Once again, there are very few clues as to the amount of time that has passed during their adventure in TCRI. And even afterwards it’s hard to tell because of the heavy storm. I will just say that they spend roughly 4 hours there. This is including the time it took to get there, the time inside, and the time after when the building explodes and 12 Mikey is gone.
Chapter 10: Retribution spans approximately and hour and a half. The bit you mentioned is in Retribution
Tumblr media
Rise Leo is clueing you in on how long it’s been since 12 Leo was under Krang’s control, and also flabbergasted by the fact that it’s been such a short amount of time and Leo is already on his feet trying to save the day. Of course he doesn’t know about Healing Hands, hence why he takes Leo’s exhaustion as he’s in pain.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the Leos get’s back with Mikey, it’s sunset, around 7pm. It’s not super obvious in Retribution, but by the beginning of Hell on Earth the sky is washed in sunset colors and you can see the sun setting in the west in the backgrounds.
The Crystal Shards is basically just a continuation of of Hell on Earth with not that much time passing between them.
I don’t usually make a ton of references to the exact time in my stories, but there are lots of ways you can sort of guess what time it is and how long it’s been. I won’t say I make it easy though🤣
Good question! :]

haven’t had the time to sit down and kinda recap the mamamoo concert trip so here we go, i’ll try to keep it short!
Landed in SF and had a friend take me around San Jose for a lil bit! Went to Trader Joe’s for the first time ever LOL and then got to the place I was staying at. Unpacked and got ready for the next day which was concert #1 day. Went to a really cute cafe that had some local artist stuff for sale, I bought some stickers hehe. We then headed to a mall to kill some time before heading to In N Out with our other friends. Had my first In N Out experience and laksjdflskjd im in love. We headed to the concert at about 5pm ish and the merch line was long af alksjdflaksjdf but managed to snag a sweatshirt, and 2 tshirts, i really splurged. The concert was amazing, I’m still shellshocked, cause I’m so used to seeing them via a video or something buT THEY WERE THERE IN PERSON!!! Anyway I’m still shook. I also lost my hat that I’ve only ever worn once so I’m sad about that... Got home at around 12am ish and we ate in n out yet again cause it was the only thing opened around LOL. In N Out twice in a day? Would do again honestly. That night my travel friend and I only had like 2 hours of sleep though cause we had to get up at 5am for our Lyft to the airport alskdjsalskdf We made it on time though!
Our flight to LA was 7am to 9am, and once we landed, we got picked up by another friend who showed us around Little Tokyo and Koreatown! I loved Little Tokyo so much aaah. Bought Mamamoo’s Purple album (blue vers.) and Mamamoo+’s Act 1 Scene 1 at a kpop store. Got dropped off at our airbnb at around 3pm and met up with the airbnb gang in which i didn’t know half of, but they were chill people! Always nice to meet more fellow moomoos. We went to a well known gopchang restaurant for dinner that night, and apparently a ton of kpop artists went there too cause they had their autographs etc. Good stuff. First time trying gopchang and it’s definitely an acquired taste. I’ve heard it doesn’t all taste the same so maybe I should try some more if i ever go to korea again. That night we slept very well haha
The next day was concert #2 day! Travel friend and I managed to sleep in while the others went to do their own things. 3/8 of us regrouped at the airbnb and walked to the restaurant that we wanted to eat at (which was kinda full so we ended up going to another nearby restaurant). We ate coco curry and then headed to the concert venue! lasklaskd A friend of ours made a poster that for some reason wasn’t allowed in so she snuck it through and I had to be the one receiving it LKJASLDKJF mission impossible shit right there. The concert was just as amazing and aaaahhhhhhh I have no words to describe IT STILL FEELS SURREAL. We tried waiting after the concert for Mamamoo’s cars to come out and THEY DID. but they didn’t roll down their windows like they usually do and they went the other way we were standing LMAOOO twas a good effort i guess. At least their car passed by us HAHA. I got a video of it. We then got home at like 12-1am and then ordered tacos and drank til 5am cause they bought way too much alcohol;;;
Next day was our last day here, in which I split with the airbnb gang to hang with some other friends. I heard that the airbnb gang’s adventure was very stressful and i wish i was there to witness the chaos but thankful i didn’t have to experience it LOL. hung around another area of Little Tokyo I didn’t go last time, and then went to Nucleus, a local artist gallery BUT IT WAS CLOSED AND I WAS SAD. It looked super cool too which makes it even sadder :( Oh well. Then got dropped off at the airport at about 3pm (which was really early), but my airbnb gang were there shortly after cause some of them had their flight at 5:30pm. My flight buddies just sat there and chatted til 8pm, our flight aaaand on the flight we went. Got home at about 11:30pm ish and the end : )

The Pleasure is all Mine - Chapter 6
Word count: 4250
Pairing: Lou Miller x Female!Reader
Warning: Angsty as fuuuck - I apologise in advance lmao.
A/N: Sorry for the slow updates... my shift pattern at work as changed so I’ve been working back to back shifts at the hospital, I hope to have my prompt request up in the next two days just before my birthday at the end of the week. Enjoy this chapter.. I had a love/hate relationship with it.
Fun fact: I listened to ‘Prisoner’, ‘As you are’ and ‘Angel’ by The Weeknd in that order while writing the party scene.. so i feel like they are the songs that were playing at the time. So feel free to listen to those songs while reading if you like!
Thank you @imnotasuperhero you bloody diamond!

Chapter 6
"Good morning New York City, it's 9am on a sunny saturday -" the ecstatic radio station burst with life, startling me awake. I groan in displeasure as I turn to hit the disturbing box before rolling back over and stretching my tired limbs, my hand brushes against the cool sheets in the empty space beside me making me pout; missing the warmth of Lou wrapped around me in our sleepy state. I hear my phone vibrate on my nightstand making me reach quickly for it, hoping that it's her. My heart flutters, my grin wide making my cheeks ache slightly at the received message.
Good morning beautiful. Waking up this morning without you next to me was dreadful, I miss holding you and watching your nose twitch and your eyelashes flutter as you wake. If waking up in a cold empty bed without you feels this awful I don't ever wanna sleep again - 9.03am
Good morning to you too, the feeling is definitely mutual. Hopefully we won't have to feel like this soon... say tomorrow night? - 9.04am I reply nervously, hoping I haven't come across as too needy.
Is that a promise? - 9.08 am
Signed and sealed - 9.10am
I'll be counting down the minutes, baby. Have a lovely day, I'll be thinking of you x - 9.12am
I sigh smitten with this wonderfully charming woman who seems to have my heart racing like no other.
I wish I could wake up every morning with her, I sulk thoughtfully as I begrudgingly leave my bed and head towards the kitchen ready to start the day.
As I continue to make my pancakes; that's not nearly half as good as what Lou makes, a loud knock echoes through my apartment startling me out of my funk. I place the pan onto the side and quickly make my way to the door and open it, revealing Rachel and Luke both with matching cheshire cat grins.
"Well well well, look who slept in her own apartment last night. Oh, but does that mean she's here instead?" Rachel teases while trying to poke her head through the door. I roll my eyes at them playfully before opening the door wider, letting them enter my apartment.
They both rush in and scan the open area in search of a tall blonde goddess making me laugh at the non subtle actions.
"She's not here if you must know. I slept alone last night," I answered with slight disappointment. They both seem to catch on to the tone and smirk wide.
"You wished you hadn't, though. Damn, she must have been good." Luke states, wiggling his eyebrows as Rachel walks towards the kitchen and grabs a bite of my untouched pancakes, chuckling in agreement.
"So I thought we could go shopping and grab a bite to eat before coming back here and starting our movie marathon, maybe order the Chinese later on?" I ask, wanting to change the topic. I got an agreed 'whoop' and an exclaimed 'YES!" from my friends who are far too interested in my breakfast.
Guess I'll add grabbing breakfast while out onto the agenda then I think to myself.
I huff jokingly before telling them to make themselves comfortable while I get changed for the day, already knowing that they always make themselves comfortable in my space.
Once dressed in my high waisted jeans and oversized jumper I make my way over to the two clowns who seem to be messing up my kitchen as they wash up.
"Can you guys ever just come over without making a mess? It's like having two children in the apartment," I laugh at the defensive 'Hey' from the pair before shooing them out of my kitchen and towards the door.
"Come on, I've gotta grab some breakfast considering you both eat mine." I sulk playfully as we make our way out of the apartment and onto the streets of New York.
***
"Alright, but getting kicked out of the store for giving my opinion on that awful flowery dress with those ankle boots was a bit far. If anything, I was helping the poor woman out by stopping her from buying it." Rachel complains while Luke helps carry half of her shopping bags through my apartment, I roll my eyes in slight annoyance already hearing this story three times since being out.
"Rach, we were pretty much finished in there anyway. And "the flower pattern on that dress makes it look like an 80s hippie threw up on you" wasn't very nice," I comment, taking my bags through the apartment towards my room, while they flop onto my sofa, bags still in hand.
I walk back through into the living room and flop down next to them and sigh in relief.
God, I hate and love shopping.
My phone vibrates in my jean pocket and I grin subtly as to not draw attention to the others:
Strawberries or chocolate? - 16.00pm
Why not both? What's with the weird question? ;) - 16.02pm
Just some useful information to store away for future reference;), I miss you x - 16.04pm
I blush slightly and try to hold back a squeal as I bite gently on my lower lip before pocketing my phone away from potential prying eyes.
"Okay, all that shopping and carrying Miss.fashionista bags around all day is making me hungry, Chinese?" Luke complains, flashing us his emerald green eyes and a pout for good measure making me pout back in mocking sympathy.
"Of course, you big baby. Can't hack shopping with two women." I joke.
"Darling, I've been out of the closet since I walked out of there in my mums six inch stilettos. I can hack shopping with two women," He shoots back, making us all laugh. Rachel grabs her phone from the table in front of us as I grab hold of the menu and recite my usual to her. Once we've ordered, we make our way towards my kitchen to make our crazy cocktails for the afternoon.
Ever since I moved here, it's been a tradition that whenever we all have more than one day off in the week together, we meet up and have a 'friends day/ night gathering'. It all started after Rachel's 'love of her life' decided to run out on her the morning after a drunken night out leaving her crying on my doorstep and a distraught Luke not knowing how to handle a crying female alone.
We continue to laugh and joke while making terrible margaritas and other alcoholic potions when Harry Styles'  'Adore You' echoes through the kitchen area making us pause as two matching grins face me while I blush under their playful stares.
"Cute," Luke whispers, making me hush them both before removing myself and my phone away from their prying ears.
"Hello you!" I greet with slight flirtation
"Well if it isn't the voice of my beautiful goddess, I've missed you"
"I've missed you too, you charmer. Do you say that to all of the girls?" I tease, smiling smugly when I hear her laugh loudly.
"You know it's only you baby" she jokes back but the tone of her voice indicates her seriousness, making me smile.
"How was the party planning?" I ask, making my way to my bedroom.
"It went great actually. We're all pretty set up for later on which is why I'm calling. I forgot to ask yesterday but I got so caught up with everything here I forgot to mention it. I want to informally invite you to Daphne's party tonight, the invite is extended to Rachel and Luke as I know it's your friends night" I smile at that, liking that she remembered.
"I would love to come! I'll double check with them but if there's alcohol involved they're usually up for anything" I joke making us both chuckle.
"Okay great! I'll see you later tonight then?" She says hopefully making my stomach flutter with excitement.
God, it's only been a day and I'm like this I mutter thoughtfully to myself.
"I'll see you later. It's definitely at your place right?"
"As much as I tried to move it... yes it is," she grumbles all in good nature, I chuckle softly before muttering a goodbye ending the call. Practically skipping my way back to the kitchen where they are both plating up the food that must have just arrived. I excitedly relay the message to my friends, who cheer in response before chatting about what they are going to wear.
Once we have finished our food, Luke and Rachel leave to go and get changed for the party while I fret over my choice of outfit. Deciding that my black dress with off the shoulder straps shows off my curves the best, I slip it on with a pair of black heels. After touching up on my makeup, I curl my hair into loose curls to finish the look.
I really do scrub up well, I think feeling confident with my choice.
My phone lights up with a 'we're here' text from Rachel before I grab my long coat and make my way down the stairs of my apartment building.
***
Lights shine through the warehouse windows with party music blaring through big speakers making the lyrics crystal clear outside, a few party goers chat loudly outside while enjoying a cigarette.
"Oh, my God. I've never been to a celebrity birthday party before!" Luke exclaims, nudging Rachel and pointing towards another movie star that he saw on the big screen one time. I chuckle and shake my head at his starstruck face before looping my arm through his and walking towards the door.
"Luke, Daphne and the rest of them are just like normal regular people relax," I tease while Rachel nods in agreement.
"Yeah, what's so great about Daphne Kluger anyway." Rachel mutters while eyeing a tall tattooed blonde guy standing by the doorway of the entrance, she winks in his direction making him grin back in return. I roll my eyes at her boldness before continuing into the living room area which has been converted into a dance space for the night.
I scan the room searching for a particular blonde with crystal blue eyes but before I can make it further into the room I feel a pair of arms circle around my waist and a light pressure on my shoulder from the chin that's now placed there, soft lips brush gently against my jawline.
"Well, don't you look absolutely stunning. I love the straps on this dress, a lot of access to kiss you more." Her raspy voice sends a shiver down my spine as she places a gentle kiss on my shoulder. I smirk at her forwardness enjoying the feeling of her body against mine. I turn around in her arms to face and gape at her, holding in a groan of pleasure as my eyes scan every inch of her.
No one should look that good in a suit.
She stands in a black suit consisting of a white shirt with a black bowtie that hangs down loosely from under her neck collar. Her blonde hair pulled up in a loose bun leaving her face free, for the first time since meeting her I'm left speechless.
"Oh, dear... it seems I've rendered you speechless. Maybe I should come back once you've regained your senses, hmm?" She mocks with that signature smirk that makes my knees go weak.
"I..um.. you look..."
"Ravishing?" She implies still smirking.
yes
"Amazing was what I was going for... maybe even hot but your cockiness has bumped you down to just amazing," I joke matching her smirk, we stare at each other for a moment appreciating one another when a very loud cough interrupts our staring, making me turn slightly in Lou's arm.
"Well, you must be Lou Miller. I'm Rachel and this is Lucas but he prefers Luke, I see you've been taking up our girls' time lately, you must be really special" She states,  grinning at us both as she holds her hand out for Lou to shake which she happily reaches for while still keeping a secured arm around my waist.
"It's nice to meet you both. Sorry this place is a little crowded, Daphne clearly doesn't understand a small get together" she says, throwing on one of her most charming smiles making Rachel and even Luke giggle. I roll my eyes at their smitten ways.
Guess I'm not the only one that affected by the Miller charm
"Oh leave it out, Miller. You know you like a good party!" Daphne exclaims, stumbling slightly over to us weaving through the crowd of people as Constance and Nine-ball carry over a tray of shots with Rose and Amita trailing behind clearly still sober, ever the responsible two.
"Y/N darling, it's so good to see you again! I'm so glad you could make it!" She slurs, hiccuping in between words occasionally making me chuckle quietly before she pulls me out of Lou's arm and into her own squeezing me tightly. I pat her back gently before muttering "Hey Daphne, it's nice to see you again. Hey guys!" I address the others over Daphne's shoulder who smiles widely and waves while Constance holds up the liquid filled  tray.
"I got shots!" Making everyone cheer even Rose, Daphne let's go of her hold on me and reaches for a glass as Lou steps closer to me and hands me one. We clink our glasses, never taking our eyes off each other before letting the burning liquor trickle down our throats. I cough slightly at the sudden taste before whispering into Lou's ear.
"Where's Tammy and Debbie?" She pulls back long enough for me to see her point upstairs and wiggle her eyebrows at me, making me gasp and giggle at her childish behaviour.
"They'll be down soon though. Tammy's excited to see you again, she can't wait to have someone she can complain to about mine and Debbie's behaviour" she jokes, pouting playfully at me as I cup her cheek and pat it in mocking sympathy.
"Oh, you poor baby. Have you ever thought that maybe she's right to complain about it" I laugh at her offended expression, I notice some of the team looking in our direction not so subtly with small soft smiles while they talk with my friends in our makeshift circle between the bar and dancefloor, clearly enjoying watching me tease their friend.
The night continues on with our back and forth teasing and not to mention the subtle touch of fingertips and the grazed hand over my ass while we spoke with Tammy and Debbie making me scold her softly causing Tammy to laugh and a raised eyebrow and twitch of a smirk from Debbie. Throughout the night I've noticed a particular redhead staring over at us, her expression difficult to read in the dimly lit room as night fell over outside. I brush it off as slight paranoia with being around so many strangers. After a while we both get separated by Lou’s work friends who require her attention at the bar, she frowns in displeasure before I give her a quick kiss on the corner of her mouth and reassure her that I'll be okay. I wandered over to Rachel and Luke who seemed to have departed after the first two rounds of shots at the beginning of the night to go and throw some moves on the dancefloor. Luke catches my eye from the middle of the floor and reaches out his hand for me to take, I giggle as he takes a hold of my hand and twirls me around bringing me close to him before twirling me back out again. Rachel woops next to us, her arm around Daphne's waist making me raise a questioning eyebrow, she blushes and shrugs innocently at me before continuing to dance with her. As Luke twirls me out of his arms again I notice the same red head hovering by the dancefloor however this time she stands next to a tall brunette woman who seems to be whispering into her ear but her eyes never straying from my form. I avert my gaze feeling slightly uncomfortable but become distracted by Luke's ridiculous dancing.
After a while Tammy and Amita join our little duo on the dancefloor, laughing a little at Tammy's 'mum dance'. With all the laughter and alcohol in my system I stagger slightly towards the bathroom needing to pee. The queue is long making me groan and back pedal a little knowing I could always use Lou's en suite if needs be. Before I could fully turn back around a rough hand wraps itself around my bicep making me startle and tense at the unfamiliar touch, I turn to see the same brunette that was standing by the dancefloor with the beautiful redhead earlier.
"If you're looking for Lou, you'll be searching for a while. She kinda pre- occupied" she riddles, her voice hostile as she eyes me, smirking.
"I'm sorry do I know you?" I asked, confused by her behaviour.
"No, but your girlfriend definitely does" she replies with that stupid smirk still in place. I frown at her childish behaviour wondering exactly how Lou would associate herself with such people.
They certainly aren't like the seven women she usually hangs out with.
"I don't have a girlfriend but if you are referring to Lou I'd appreciate it if you would shut the fuck up when you clearly know nothing" I snap, finally reaching my limit.
Who the hell does she think she is!
She laughs mockingly before replying:
"You got fire behind those eyes kid, she likes that in her women" she mutters standing with her arms crossed as she leans lazily against the wall by the bathroom. I open my mouth to retaliate but is interrupted by Debbie's harsh voice
"I don't recall you being invited, Madison."
Madison's eyes light up with glee and mischief.
"Debbie darling, so nice to see you again. How's Tam Tam?" I look towards Debbie's face, my eyes wide at her stoic expression.
I've never seen her so indifferent before but then again how well do you really know her.
"Get out." She mutters trying to not draw attention to us. Madison rolls her eyes unbothered by Debbie's tone of voice, she pushes away from the wall and brushes harshly past me.
"You might wanna see for yourself. We've all been tangled up in Lou Millers web before. A leopard never changes its spots, dear" she mutters before storming down the hallway and out of the building.
I feel hot tears surface before wiping them away quickly, which doesn't seem to go unnoticed by Debbie who lays a comforting hand on my shoulder.
"Don't listen to her, she's a nutcase. She's always wanted Lou" she says quietly while escorting up the stairs and towards Lou's room.
"I'll wait for you out here okay? Go and freshen yourself up, don't show them that you are affected by their words you hear me? Lou really likes you Y/N, ignore the green eyed monsters" and with that she gently pushes me through Lou's doorway and closes it.
Once I've finished up I stand by the bathroom sink and stare at my reflection for a moment taking in my appearance before taking a deep breath and relaxing my shoulders.
I can do this, I reassure myself.
I walk out of the room feeling much better and meet Debbie by the staircase that leads back towards the party, she whispers reassurance in my ear before leaving me with my concerned friends to go and find Tammy.
"Omg Y/N are you okay? Did you get lost in the bathroom or something? Ew, actually I don't want to know what you and Princess Charming have been up to" Rachel says her nose scrunched up at the thought, Daphne giggles loudly next to her.
"Please it's adorable. I've never seen Lou so smitten before" Daphne states drunkenly. I blush at the confession and grin softly feeling less insecure about our developing relationship and less concerned about that woman’s words.
"No actually I um.. I bumped into Debbie upstairs and got chatting but I think I'm gonna go grab a drink ``I state, gaining a cheer from Daphne who leads the way to the makeshift bar where the kitchen island usually is. I scan the room looking for Lou wondering whether I could talk to her in private about my ordeal upstairs with her old 'friend'.
I instantly regret my decision.
I see a gap in between the sea of people showing me Lou standing by the other side of the bar, leaning against it. The redhead from earlier whispers into her ear making Lou shake her head in laughter, the woman fiddles with her bow tie as if to go and tie it but Lou stops her with a shake of her head, her eyes move away from the woman as she scans the room as if searching for someone. As if sensing my presence her eyes turn instantly towards me, her crystal blues widen but before I could see anything else the beat of the music grows silent as Daphne takes the mic from the DJ ready to thank everyone for coming.
I feel my heart shatter into a million pieces, tears run freely down my face as I try to hide within the sea of people on the dance floor all while looking for Rach and Luke. I quickly find them standing at the edge of the dance floor opposite the front door.
Perfect
I quickly grab a hold of Rachel's hand, her eyebrows furrowed at the sight of my distraught face.
"Oh my god, Y/N are you okay? What the hell! Did she do this?! I'll wrap that bow tie around her neck so tight I swear Y/N" I quickly hush her and barely whisper
"Please just get me out of here" with that she nods her head with such determination. Luke wraps my coat around my shoulders and pulls me against him as we walk out of the door while Rachel phones a cab.
"It's gonna take 10 minutes Y/N. I don't know how long we can avoid her for," Rachel says apologetically as she stands close to me. Luke let's go of me and says he's gonna go grab his and Rachel's things and that he'll be as quick as possible.
"It's okay I just need to get out of here" I mutter quietly not trusting my own voice.
Luke rushes out breathing heavily as he passes Rachel her coat.
"She's going insane in there... her and that red head have just had a massive argument and she's asking Debbie where you were. Y/N I think you should at least tell her you are going" Luke reasons.
A leopard never changes its spots, dear
"Oh my god, she was right." I whisper to myself, gaining their attention.
"What do you mean, darling?" Luke asks softly.
"The.. other woman there tonight.. Madison. She warned me, I just never thought Lou..."
"Don't listen to them Y/N. Whatever you saw in there it could have been a misunderstanding, those girls have been eyeing her up all night but Lou only ever had eyes for you" Luke reassures just as the yellow cab arrives out front. We all rush towards it but before I can step into it a hand grabs a hold of my arm gently spinning me around and slamming the door with the other, blocking me from getting in as she boxes me in between her body and the door.
Wet crystal blue eyes stare right back into mine, full of sadness and rage. Her breathing slightly erratic from running around the place, she whispers so desperately, so softly I barely hear her.
"Please don't leave. Please. Let me explain"
She likes that in her women
"Lou let me go, please. I'm just really tired and would like to get some rest. We can talk about this tomorrow okay" I whisper back feeling droplets of rain crash onto my face or is it my tears? I cup her cheek and brush my thumb over her cheekbone wiping away the frustrated tear that seems to have escaped from her eye.
"Tomorrow" she clarifies with hope.
"Yes tomorrow" I certify making her relax slightly before leaning in and pressing a kiss to the corner of my mouth as I turn away slightly still not ready for the contact. I see the hurt and sadness in her eyes as I slowly remove her hand from the top of the car and open the door making her step back. I climb into the car and see Lou press her hand gently against the window briefly, her blue eyes desperate for me to understand. The engine starts up and before I know it her sad form seems to grow smaller and smaller as we disappear back into the city. The last thing I see before going through the gates is Lou run her hands through her hair in frustration as Debbie steps towards her to comfort her. I turn away after that feeling guilty and hurt, the only real comfort I have right now comes from the two hands that hold my own in solidarity.
Maybe I really don’t know her at all

Summary: You find yourself in a friends-with-benefits situation with your best friend. You have no business falling for him, but your heart begs to differ.
You stared at the clock, painfully counting down the minutes until this class was over. Syllabus week was the worst. Teachers sent out the syllabus and course guidelines by email yet, for some reason, you were still stuck here going over it even though you’d already read through it. Your teacher wasn’t saying anything new to you so you opened up your laptop, browsing Aldo’s website for their sale shoes.
Your mind shuffled for the remainder of class. You looked down at your shameful, chipping nail polish and wondered what nail color you’d go for next. You smiled at it because Baekhyun did them for you the other day. Interestingly enough, he was good at those kinds of things. Even though he’d probably never let you paint his nails ever, he was good at painting yours and he didn’t mind doing things like that.
Your random thoughts about nail polish and Baekhyun came to a halt as the people around you started shuffling. It was Thursday and, thankfully, you were done with class early. Your teacher had gone over the syllabus and went over the textbook and so on before bringing class to an end with “Have a good weekend. See you next week!”
Your friend, Daren, turned to you. “This class seems like it’ll be a breeze.”
“I hope so. I could use some more A’s this semester…”
Daren smiled. “Are you hungry? Do you wanna get lunch?”
You said, “Sure. Do you wanna see if the others wanna come, too?” He nodded and you looked down at your phone that lit up with unread messages from the group chat.
Within twenty minutes, you and Daren were sitting on a bench in Washington Square Park waiting on your friends. It was a gorgeous day out, a clear blue sky hanging over you.. Summer in New York City was the best. There was so much to do and so much to see in the city that never sleeps. The sun shone brightly on your face as you watched children playing near the fountain. One was splashing his hands in the water against his mother’s wishes and another crying because she dropped her ice cream. You smiled. You loved this city. It was just so authentic and raw.
You squinted in the direction of your friends approaching and waved them over. You could tell it was them because Evie had a slight bounce with each step she took.
“Hey gorgeous,” called Evie, plopping down next to you.
“Hey guys,” Sadie said with a wave. “Where are we eating?”
Daren said, “I dunno. I thought you’d decide.”
While the three of them went on about where to eat, you looked down at your phone. Baekhyun hadn’t texted you back. He was in class; he sent a screenshot of his class schedule last week. Unfortunately, he wouldn’t be joining you for lunch today. With a small sigh, you returned to the conversation. Apparently, everyone had decided on going to get pizza.

Baekhyun just had one class on Friday. It was the only class he could get into since his browser crashed on him as soon as it was registration time. By the time he’d logged on again, the class he’d planned on taking was full. With a yawn, he took a seat down in the 9am class and opened his laptop, ready to take notes.
A few minutes after class began, he heard the door open. He glanced and saw a girl scurrying to an available seat toward the front of the classroom. She sat down and opened her notebook. The back of her head looked awfully familiar and it bothered him throughout the class. There was something so painfully familiar about her that he found himself staring at the back of her head and what little he could see of her side profile any chance he could.
As class ended, Baekhyun was relieved. The girl took her sweet time in gathering her things. She even sat there for a minute or two. Baekhyun watched her and part of him was even annoyed that she was taking so long to stand up and leave the classroom so that he could get a better look at her. Finally, she stood up. When she turned around, Baekhyun’s heart dropped. She didn’t notice him. With her phone in hand, she continued toward the door with no intention of looking in his direction.
He called, “Kira?”
She looked up from her phone and her eyes met his. Her eyes lit up before the rest of her face. “Baekhyun?” She walked over to him and wrapped her arms around him. “Wow, it feels like it’s been so long…”
“Eight months is a long time,” he said, giving her a squeeze. “How’ve you been? How was your study abroad program?” He pulled away from her even though he didn’t want to.
“I’ve been good. Studying abroad was amazing. Florence is such an amazing city. I loved it,” she said. “How about you? I saw you went back to Korea over the summer.”
Baekhyun nodded. “It was good. It was nice to see my friends and my family. I feel a little homesick sometimes but I love this city, too. It feels good to be back.”
“Do you think you’ll try to stay after graduation?”
“For a little bit at least. I guess I’ll see if I can apply for a work visa later. I’m not sure I want to stay in Korea.”
“I feel the same way about Japan. Kanazawa will always be my home but I feel like I can make a name for myself here.”
“What do you want to do? You wanted to do something with skincare, right?”
Her eyes widened a bit, surprised that he even remembered what she thought was such a small detail. She smiled. “Yeah. I’m trying out a bunch of different formulas now for the face serums I want to make. Soon, I’ll perfect it. There’s a lot to do to start a business.”
Baekhyun returned her smile. “I bet it’ll turn out great and everyone will love it.”
Kira cleared her throat. “We should catch up sometime...”
“I’d like that. When are you free?”
“Are you doing anything later today?”
*
You threw down the plastic shot glass onto the wooden desk. It was your second shot of the night and it was in Sadie and Evie’s dorm room. Sadie was playing lofi in the background and she and Evie were currently arguing over the choice of music.
“What’s this sad ass lofi playlist?” Evie demanded. “If I wanted to kill myself, this is the playlist I’d choose.”
You laughed. “You have to admit, Sadie. This song doesn’t make me wanna get drunk on a Friday night.”
Sadie rolled her eyes, scrolling through Spotify to change the playlist. “Yeah yeah. Where are the boys? Are they on their way?”
“Daren is on his way. He said he’ll meet us in front of our dorms. And Andrew said he’ll meet us at the bar.”
You turned in the Sadie’s desk chair. “Where are we going by the way?”
“Let’s start at Coyote Ugly,” said Evie.
Sadie said, “Yeah. The bartenders always try to get you to dance on the bar. I’m in the mood for something like that tonight.”
A makeup adjustment, an outfit malfunction, and another shot later, the three of you were off into the night in sight of your friends and a good night to be remembered as you kicked off the semester. Daren was in front of the dorms waiting; he had his foot kicked up onto the wall, leaning onto it while scrolling on his phone. A smile formed on his face as he noticed us approaching.
“Now I feel underdressed,” he said, looking down at himself. You and the girls giggled as Daren rolled his eyes and started complaining. “I knew I should’ve changed.”
As the four of you walked over toward the East Side, Daren said, “Is Baekhyun coming out tonight?”
You said, “He texted the group chat earlier and said that he had plans tonight.”
At first, you’d been kind of annoyed that Baekhyun wasn’t going bar hopping tonight; When you asked him why, he mentioned that he ran into one of his friends. You felt a little sad that he wouldn’t see you in the cute skirt you were wearing and even sadder that he wouldn’t be pulling it off of you later that night.
By the time you got into the bar, it was starting to get crowded. There was a nice crowd of people, which meant that soon there wouldn’t be much breathing room left. Coyote Ugly wasn’t a high end bar or anything like that. It was the place to get drunk and to dance on the bar to good music. The bartenders were good looking and usually had a nice pair of tits to match.
Sadie and Daren went to grab a table in the back while you and Evie went to grab a couple beers. As you waited for the bartender, Evie said, “So what’s with you and Baek?”
At this point, Evie knew that you liked him. She noticed immediately. Most times, Evie could be pretty quiet but it’s because she’s sitting back, observing people, watching their movements. She noticed that you liked Baekhyun before you did. You were walking to the train station one day when she asked, “You have a crush on Baekhyun, don’t you?” At that point, you’d only slept with him a couple times and hadn’t given it much thought.
You said, “What do you mean?”
“Didn’t you tell him how you felt about him before he left this summer?”
You nodded. “We haven’t had that conversation again. I figured I’d wait until the time was right. School just started up again and if we already like each other, what’s the rush?”
“Are you sure he likes you?” she asked after ordering the beers.
You nodded. “Of course I am! He told me himself. I mean, it just hasn’t been a good time. It’s been a busy week. I’ve hardly seen him this week. Next time we meet up, I’ll bring it up again.”
“Sounds good.” You knew that Evie had more to say about it but for some reason she thought better of it and changed the subject as she paid for the beers. You grabbed two beers and headed back to the table with your friend. As you drank your beer and talked with your friends, you couldn’t get what Evie said out of your head. It wasn’t much but that one question had so much impact.
Are you sure he likes you?
Shortly after being consumed by your insecure thoughts about Baekhyun and how he feels about you, you noticed that Drew had arrived and that he had lured over another group of people in their 20s. You watched as he flirted with one of the girls; she was currently throwing her head back at something Drew had said and you couldn’t help but laugh to yourself because there was nothing that Drew could say to make someone laugh that hard.
You wished that Baekhyun was here. It seemed like everyone had a person. And by person you just meant someone to connect with. You watched as Evie and Sadie were enthralled in some deep conversation with one of the guys in the other group. Drew was flirting and Daren had disappeared. You couldn’t help but feel a little lonely.
With a sigh, you headed to the bar in search of another drink to drown your problems in. After you placed an order for a gin and tonic, a tall man approached you and stood next to you. Glancing at him, you noticed he was in the group that Drew had brought over to your table. He smiled at you and said, “Hey. You looked like you could use a friend.”
You chuckled. “Friend, huh? Isn’t that a little bold?”
He shrugged, leaning against the bar counter. “Not if that’s what my goal is.”
“What’s your name?”
“Sehun. What about you?”
“Y/N.”
“Pretty name.”
You ended up talking to Sehun for almost an hour. The two of you ended up grabbing seats at the bar. You talked about where he grew up and how he ended up in New York. He talked about what he wanted to do in the future, the places he wanted to travel, and the music he liked. While you two talked, you realized that you had a lot in common. The way Sehun talked to you wasn’t too flirty and proved that he wasn’t just trying to get you in a Lyft back to his apartment.
You couldn’t help but notice how attractive he was either. He had dark eyes that you could get lost in. His smile was enough to make any woman weak and his lips were such a sexy shape that you almost wanted to kiss them. You noticed his style, too. He seemed to be a pretty simple man, wearing a striped button down, a pair of khaki shorts, and some white designer sneakers you noticed when he got up to use the bathroom. At some point during your conversation, he mentioned that it was getting hot and he stripped down to the T-shirt he was wearing underneath. From what you could see, he seemed like he worked out a bit.
You cleared your throat as Baekhyun crossed your mind again. It made you feel a bit guilty, even. You looked back at the table your friends were still sitting at. “Didn’t your friends leave a while ago?”
He chuckled, flashing a bright smile. “Yeah. They went to another bar but I was enjoying our conversation so I stayed here instead. I’ll find them eventually...” He put his finger on his chin for a moment, calculating his next move. “What do you usually do on weekends?”
“Nothing much. Usually I hang out with my friends or run errands. Since the weather’s gonna be shitty tomorrow, I’ll probably just stay in.”
“It’s supposed to be nice on Sunday,” he said, downing the rest of his drink. “To be honest, I’m a little drunk now but I want to ask you anyway…Would you wanna maybe go on a date with me on Sunday? We could get lunch or go to the park or something.”
You raised your eyebrows, shocked at the sudden invitation. No one had ever been this straightforward with you before. You weren’t used to a man just asking you out like this.
You frowned, thinking of Baekhyun again. “I’m kind of with someone.”
“Kind of?” He cleared his throat, raising his eyebrows. “You don’t seem too sure…”
“It’s complicated...but I’m down to be friends, if you want,” you said, pushing your phone toward him. Sehun was a really cool guy but you couldn’t accept a date with him. Not when you had Baekhyun by your side. If this had been months ago, before you and Baekhyun had sex for the first time, you would’ve accepted a date with him.
Sehun wasn’t pleased with your response. To be honest, he was disappointed. You were one of the most interesting girls he’d met in a long time. There were a handful of girls out there who just wanted sex or a meal or whatever, but you didn’t give off that vibe at all. He was genuinely interested in getting to know you. From your answer, he knew that you were probably in some situationship and neither of you were on the same page. This was a truth he knew all too well.
The disappointment on his face was showing and you felt bad as he proceeded to put his number in your phone anyway. “If you’re ever kind of single, you should give me a call.”
And with a wink, he was off.

Scarlet & Hazel | Ch. 1
Tumblr media
pairings: hoseok x reader x yoongi
genre: fluff, very light angst, smut (future)
word count: 3.6k
chapters: ch.1, ch.2, ch.3, ch.4
summary:
Just cause you’re living paycheck to paycheck in a tiny apartment even after graduating college doesn’t mean you’re not happy. So what if your best friend is working her dream job making close to six figures every year?  So what if she’s in a loving, committed relationship with her perfect boyfriend that you’re 99% sure is going to propose to her sometime next year? It doesn’t matter that your idea of a perfect relationship is a $9.99 bottle of wine on Friday nights while you binge watch Netflix specials.
Ok so maybe you’re a teensy bit miserable. Maybe you have no idea what you’re doing with your life. Maybe all you need to do is accidentally cross paths with two hybrids who will drastically change that.
Meet “Scarlet” and “Hazel”, two of the most gorgeous hybrid men you have ever laid eyes on. With their help, you learn that life is an adventure, a rollercoaster with ups and downs, and you were too preoccupied with yourself to climb out of your own predicament. And hey, you’re not much of a romantic, but with these two, you just might change your mind.
note: Hi! This is my first fic ever! I don’t even know if anyone’s gonna read this but I’ve had this idea in my head for awhile so fuck it.
You kicked off your shoes and threw your purse on the couch.
“God my back hurts!”
Honestly with the amount of random bodily aches you experience on a daily business you could pass for being 70 years old. But this time you knew where the pain stemmed from. You just had to fall asleep awkwardly after a night on your phone. And of course today was a work day and you slept past all THREE of your alarms. But you know that feeling when you sleep for a suspiciously long amount of time and something doesn’t feel right? That’s the sixth sense that saved your ass this morning because your internal body clock was like sweetie I think you’re late.
You only had time to slap on some makeup, hoping it looked semi decent, and throw your greasy hair into a messy, but passable bun because no one wants to see an ugly receptionist. You had to skip your morning Starbucks drive-through routine because you’re about to be LATE, late so you grab your keys and start your car, booking it to work.
You work at a private hybrid clinic which pays a little better than most but that means you also have to deal with a lot of attitude from rich “owners” (you hate that word). And you sat weirdly at work today so that did nOThing to help your back pain. Also how come everybody decided to book an appointment today?? It’s Friday for god's sake why does everyone and their mothers decide it’s time to call the clinic and book a checkup. They get so mad at you when you say this whole month is filled. You can’t change the schedule though?? The calendar’s filled lady either get over it and settle for next month or fuck off (of course you don’t say that out loud cause you’ll get fired). Also someone yelled at you today because they didn’t like the magazine choices in the waiting room.
Anyways your day sucked and you couldn’t be happier being back in your tiny apartment to binge watch netflix stand-up comedies until you collapse. Well you say it’s your apartment but you actually have a roommate. She’s nothing like you though, she’s the epitome of responsibility. You agreed to live with her even though you met her through Craigslist because once you met her in person you deemed her genuine enough, and also found out she’s hardly ever at the apartment but she still pays rent on time?! You really hit the jackpot with her honestly. Cause you can be a little bit messy sometimes but even when she is home she never complains. The only negative side of having her as a roommate is that you never really had time to bond with her cause she’s so busy and over your league that even after a year you two still aren’t anything more than friendly acquaintances.
Alright time to get out of your work clothes and into nothing but your favorite oversized t-shirt with no pants on because that is what you deem home-appropriate attire. But before you turn on netflix your tummy is making “feed me” noises so it’s time to check the fridge. Damn no leftovers. Time to crack open one of those Trader Joe’s frozen meals you have stacked in the freezer. You blindly pick a box. Guess you’re having vegan tikka masala tonight. Not gonna lie though those frozen meals are actually not half bad. Or maybe you’ve been away from good home cooking for so long you’ve become desensitized? Who cares, you’re hungry. Also it’s Friday, so no harm in cracking open a bottle of wine right?
When you’re all settled on the couch with your favorite plush blanket on your legs, a random comedian on tv, and a full tummy, your mind drifts away. It’s Saturday tomorrow and you have the weekends off. Maybe you should do something fun for yourself to make up for the crap you had to deal with today. You text your best friend Karli. You know she’s awake since it’s only 10pm.
You: Hey girl wanna go to the beach or smth tmrw?? <3
Karli: Yaaas ok I don’t work!! What time?
You: and we can walk around all the fancy stores and get coffee from that place we love.
You: hmmm how bout meet there @11??
Karli: Sounds good sweetie want me to pick you up?
You: no its ok ill meet u there i need to buy groceries after
Karli: Kk love ya see you then!!!
You: love ya! night bby
Karli knows that when you say “go to the beach” you really mean walk along the beach and the nearby stores because it’s early June and prime tourist season. That means the sand is packed with people and their kids and the water’s probably filled with pee so you’re not really down for that. Also the expensive shops near the beach are so cute and you love walking around window shopping, pretending like you can actually afford any of the items on display.
The wine is now getting to you cause before you know it you find your eyelids getting heavy. You muster up your last ounce of strength to turn off the tv and force yourself out of the couch cause your poor back doesn’t need another excuse to keep hurting. As much as you don’t want to wash your face and brush your teeth, you have to because you don’t want makeup on your pillowcase tonight. And when you finally crawl into bed you knock out instantly.

BEEP BEEP BEEP
“Oh fuck…”
You forgot that drunk you last night set an alarm today for 9am. Thank you drunk Y/N.
Why 9am? Because you need to shower and get ready, plus the beach you’re going to is near the north part of the city, which is also the expensive part of the city, meaning it’s a LONG ways from where you live. But the stores are aesthetically pleasing and it contains both you and Karli’s favorite coffee shop so you’re willing to make the 25 minute drive. Karli doesn’t have to worry though because she lives a lot closer than you do. Girl has got her shit together. Honestly you’re just glad she decided to move back after graduate school cause the long distance friend thing sucks balls.
You hop in the shower and rinse yourself awake. The weather is perfect, warm but not too hot. Unlike many people who prefer to dress up for a nice outing, you’re just the opposite. You’ve been forced to dress in nice business attire with a full face of makeup all week. Hell no are you dressing up on your days off too. It’s a sweatpants and tank top kinda day so that’s exactly what you wear. Ever since college you’ve spoiled yourself into only wearing comfy clothes whenever you have the chance and it’s become a minor problem in your life. You have some perfectly nice jeans in the closet but you haven’t worn them in forever. And you’re not gonna wear them today either. And makeup? Who needs makeup? You’ll just go barefaced since you have no one to impress. Actually just kidding maybe a little concealer just to cover up a few rough spots but that’s IT. You’re still a little self conscious and you know you have to work on that but not today.
It’s now 10:15. You grab your purse from the couch, slip on your favorite pair of slides and head to your car. You’re the kind of person who absolutely needs music when you drive so you quickly start blasting your favorite playlist. Before you know it, you’re pulling up to the beach area. Parking is hard to find on the weekend but your lucky ass managed to squeeze into a street parking spot right as someone pulls out. You lock your car and make the trek to Cozy Coffeehouse, your favorite coffee shop hands down.
Karli is already here and she’s hopping up and down, waving at you. She looks super cute today in her little black dress and fishnets. She’s had the same taste since high school and you’re glad that even a Master’s degree hasn’t stopped her from dressing all punk on her days off. You jog over and give her a quick hug.
“Hey girl look at you!! You’re so cute!” You take in her makeup and you swear if she didn’t go the corporate route she definitely should have been a makeup artist. Her eyeshadow is amazing and you’ll never ever have the blending talent that she has, nor could you ever get your eyeliner to look that sharp.
“Aw thanks! You look comfy though I’m kinda jealous now maybe I should’ve dressed down.”
“No I love your outfits! Besides, someone has to look nice in this relationship.”
You link arms and march into the cafe. It’s located near the fancy designer stores on a large hill overlooking the beach. When you step inside the whole atmosphere screams ‘cozy’, fitting its name perfectly. The interior is littered with mismatched sofas and armchairs but it somehow still looks aesthetically pleasing. Soft piano jazz is playing through speakers and when you step inside the delicious scent of freshly ground coffee beans immediately invades your nostrils.
You glance at their pastry display first. Today must be your lucky day because they have tiramisu and you absolutely love tiramisu but it’s usually sold out. No way in hell are you letting this chance slide, fuck breakfast norms you’re definitely getting a bite of that. Unfortunately you’re not a fan of sugary treats on top of sugary drinks so to balance things out you choose to order their house brew.
After you two order, you find a spot in one of the plush armchairs near the window and sit. You really are lucky today since window seats are usually taken. But not this time! You guys get to enjoy the gorgeous scenery displayed before you. The sun is bright, people are laying on the beach tanning, and kids are splashing each other with water. For the first time in awhile, you feel content with life, if only for a bit.
Before long your orders are called out and you stand up to retrieve them. Once you’re settled, you break into conversation with Karli, eager to catch up on everything that happened since you two last spoke face-to-face. You talk about work, Karli’s boyfriend Sunny, that new pizza place that opened up near your apartment that actually has really shitty pizza.
“Like seriously how do you fuck up pizza that badly?” you exclaim in between generous bites of tiramisu.
“No I get you,” Karli responds, slurping her iced mocha frappuchino, “everybody knows what pizza is supposed to taste like, I mean it’s gotta take talent to actually fuck it up to the level you’re describing girl.”
“Exactly!!” You wave your arms in the air, wanting to physically demonstrate your frustration at the situation and your passion for good pizza.
“Anyways…” Karli gently sets her drink down and takes on a more serious tone. “How are you though, honestly.”
“Hmm, me?” You swallow your last bite of tiramisu, “I’m doing good. Works ok, life’s ok. You know. Everything’s… ok.”
“I get that everything’s ‘ok’ but you know I want you to be more than ok. I want you to be happy”
You see the genuine concern in her eyes. Bless this girl for being so soft-hearted.
She continues, “And when was the last time you dated? Like, what, 2 years ago??”
Of course she has to mention dating. Karli has always been a romantic. You? Not so much. Your brain tended to err on the logical, practical side, which is not always a good idea since it keeps you away from many potential relationships.
“I date!” You scoff, but you’re not convincing anybody, least of all yourself.
“Oh really?” Her eyes widen in mock surprise, “Tinder one night stands don’t count babe. You know what I mean.”
“Well you didn’t specify…” You mumble, trying to come up with any excuse to defend your pride. You know she’s just being a good friend and that she’s asking because she cares about you, so you don’t let her questions irritate you.
“Sweetie I’m not trying to make you feel bad and I’m sorry if it comes across that way. It’s just… you mean a lot to me and you’re my bestie and I just want to see you be happy.” She takes your hand from across the table and looks you in the eyes. “We don’t get to see each other as much as we used to, so when I do I want to check in on how you’re doing.”
Then she averts her eyes, which you find highly suspicious. “Also I may or may not have found someone who I KNOW will be a perfect match for you.”
“AHA I KNEW you were leading up to something!”
“Wait but hear me out. He’s an accountant and at first I was like hmmm is he too boring for Y/N? But then I realized I was judging him by his job and that’s not cool so I talked to him and he’s, like, actually super cute and super sweet and I think you two will get along so well!” She’s speaking very fast at this point, trying to squeeze out as much information as possible before you can interject. Then she finishes with one of her signature Karli smiles, big and wide and all teeth and she knows you can’t say no to that face.
“Dammit. Fine.” You lost this round. “Alright if he wants to meet up I won’t say no. How bout that?”
“Gee that’s so thoughtful of you Y/N.” Her tone is sarcastic but she’s still smiling so you know she means no harm.
After another half hour of conversation, locked in a heated debate about food again (this time she’s defending her stance that pineapple belongs on pizza), Karli’s phone rings. The sound scares the poor girl half to death, and watching her jump a mile from her couch had you snorting into your coffee mid drink.
She looks at the caller ID, muttering under her breath, “It’s Saturday what do they want?” then glances up with a sad little pout, “Sorry Y/N it’s work gimme a sec…”
From what you can hear on her side of the conversation, something has come up and she has to head to the office right away.
“Ok I’ll be there in fifteen,” she hangs up and gives an exaggerated “Ughhhhh”. She takes one large gulp, finishing the last of her ultra sweet, ultra whipped frappuccino. “It’s like they can’t do anything when I’m not there.” She looks especially apologetic when her eyes land back on you, “I’m so sorry I have to cut this short…”
“Hey it’s ok! Duty calls ya know,” you give her a reassuring grin, hoping it passes for a smile instead of a grimace. You were really hoping to hang out today.
“No it’s not ok. We didn’t even get to walk around today! And I know how much you like to do that.” She stands up, slipping her purse onto her shoulder, “so next time I’ll plan a day where I guarantee I won’t get interrupted. It’s the least I can do.”
“Mk sounds good babe,” you give her a big hug, “Go get ‘em tiger!”
Tumblr media
After she exits the cafe you finish the last bit of your coffee and glance out the window, staring at the people on the beach. Wow it’s really crowded down there today. You zone in on two kids attempting to build a sandcastle, but it’s too close to the water so the waves flatten it in two seconds. But it seems they didn’t learn their lesson because they keep rebuilding the castle in the same spot. Just move it further up little dudes.
You find yourself lost in thought again. Just because Karli’s suddenly busy doesn’t mean you don’t still have a whole day to yourself. You can walk around on your own. Also why not treat yourself to another drink? A fun one this time from their specials menu.
Ten minutes later you find yourself wandering around the various shops, hot hazelnut latte in hand, gazing at display after display of designer clothes and bags. Look, you may not be a huge fashion person, or have any expendable cash, but a girl can still appreciate art, especially when it’s laid out so nicely in front of you.
Speaking of art, there’s an art gallery coming up that you absolutely love. You’ve always been too afraid to go inside because you’re the type of person who feels obligated to buy something if you enter a local store and you DEFinitely can’t afford anything there. So you opt to loiter outside, like some creep, looking a little too long at the featured art through the window. This time it’s an Impressionist style painting of a ship on hazy waters with a sunset in the background. You’re no artist but you can appreciate good quality work when you see it. The piece is mesmerizing and serene, transfixing you to the spot. Before you know it, you’ve been staring for 15 whole minutes.
While admiring the artist’s use of color on the display piece, you overhear a lady raising her voice not too far away, snapping you out of your trance. It sounds like drama, so being the nosy bitch that you are, you’re definitely gonna check it out, if only to satisfy your curiosity.
“What do you mean ‘no’?! You’ll be perfect for each other!! Where’s your owner I bet he’ll listen!” At this point the lady’s voice is sounding downright aggressive.
As you shuffle closer to the scene of the noise, you spot a middle-aged, blonde lady pointing her finger at two hybrid men, almost jabbing one of them in the chest with her sharp, ruby nails. Behind her stands a gorgeous female arctic fox hybrid who clearly belongs to her as she pats her owner’s shoulders, trying to calm her down.
“I’m sorry miss but we just aren’t interested.” The taller of the two hybrids with orange hair speaks up, gently pushing the lady’s hands away. “Please leave us alone.” He’s being surprisingly calm, even after getting yelled at in public.
“Yeah lady get out of our faces,” the other white and grey haired hybrid is definitely more agitated, crossing his arms as he huffs in annoyance. You don’t blame him since the blonde lady is being ridiculously rude.
You can’t really make out the two males’ faces, since they’re turned away from you, but they are obviously hybrids. Both having incredibly bushy, soft-looking tails and tall, pointy ears sticking out of their heads.
Even if you can’t see their expressions, you can tell they’re uncomfortable with the harassment. Since you’re still somewhat unaware of the context, you stay out of the argument but decide to keep an eye on the situation in case the lady steps out of line. You’re just slightly around the corner, able to stay a safe distance away so that no one, especially the lady, can catch you eavesdropping. Pretending to admire the Gucci purses displayed in front of the shop you’re now standing at, and almost choking at the price, you cautiously side-eye blondie as she refuses to back down from the hybrid boys.
“Listen here you rude little pets, I’m not leaving you alone until I see your owner. My Sylvia here,” she gestures to the fox hybrid behind her, “would make a perfect partner for you.” She pokes the orange haired hybrid again, “I’ve been searching so long for her to find a mate and I’m not giving you up! Now where the hell is your owner!”
What the fuck?! How dare this lady talk to them like that? And in public no less! You now know exactly why she’s yelling at them. Working at a private hybrid clinic has opened your eyes to the harsh world of hybrids, and their selfish, rich owners. It’s not uncommon for owners to negotiate with each other and breed their hybrids. If two pretty hybrids mate, their children can be sold for loads of money. It's cruel and disgusting, with many of the children sold off before they can even get to know their parents. You’re all too familiar with this tradition, often catching owners in the waiting room of your clinic discussing in whispers about buying and selling hybrid children as if they’re livestock.
“Hey what the fuck did you call us?!” The white and grey hybrid is now also raising his voice. “Listen you wrinkly bi…!” He is quickly silenced by the orange hybrid, who abruptly clamps his hand over his buddy’s mouth.
Orange hair clears his throat. “What he means is, we don’t appreciate the tone you’re using with us. Please leave us alone ma’am. We’ll be on our way. Goodbye.” They attempt to brush past her.
“Hey hold on a minute! I’m not done with you!!” This lady even has the balls to grab onto orange hair’s arm. “I demand to speak to your owner!” Then some sort of realization dawns upon her because her eyes go wide, then quickly narrow. “And where are your collars? Aren’t owned hybrids supposed to have collars on? You know I just might have to call Hybrid Services.”
You can see the boys visibly tense at her words as she sports a satisfied smirk. Poor Sylvia is now gently tugging on her shirt. “Please calm down, miss…” she says desperately trying to remedy the situation.
Before you know it, and without any plan of action, you round the corner and march up to the boys, standing defensively in front of them.
“Um…” You gulp, then clear your throat, speaking in what you hope is a more confident tone. “Sorry I took so long guys! You wouldn’t believe the line at the coffee shop!”

Inner Turmoil - Chapter 3
Chapter 3 - Kakashi, So Help Me!
FFN | AO3
Sakura couldn’t have felt more trepidation than she had the last few days. How do you tell your surrogate mother, that is also the hokage, that you love, and may have possibly, slightly, maybe, already slept with your team leader who is 14 years your senior? And your former sensei? Certainly she would be at least a little understanding, right? Maybe she could at least be happy for her? Would she disband team 7? No, that would be horrible….
She went to sit up, being forced to remember the pale, muscular arm that was currently pinning her waist to a chest. A very muscular and defined chest. She turned red as she heard her lover grumble softly as he began to wake up. “Sakura, where are you going…”
Ah yes, speaking of sleeping with him, it has been in his bed that she had been in for the last three nights. And not exactly very conspicuously. Not that she had any regrets, but it was all still so new. It was only a little over a week ago she had been pep-talked by none other than Naruto to try and get through to Kakashi.
She smiled softly, flipping over awkwardly to face him. “Well, someone, meaning one of us, should probably tell the hokage we’re together before she hears through the gossip that is beginning to start…”
He opened his charcoal eye to watch her carefully. “And you intend to do that, right now, when she’s probably hung over and already going to be angry.”
Sakura giggled. “If you think I can’t handle her hangovers after going through being trained by her, you’re sadly mistaken. I learned to dodge things quite well under her wing!”
He chuckled as pulled her closer and kissed her forehead. “I love you.” He said softly. “But maybe, I should be the one to tell her.”
She gazed up at Kakashi, a little confused at his offer. “Are you sure about that?” She placed a hand on his cheek. “I’m almost certain she would pummel you without thinking twice, unlike myself.”
He smirked. “Perhaps, I deserve that exact pummeling.” His face fell a bit as his thoughts tread deeper. He was currently in bed, naked from last night, with his former student. The more he thought about it, the more he was beginning to want to distance himself, no matter how much he loves her. He didn’t think it was worth ruining her life with it.
Sakura knit her eyebrows together in concern, before sliding her hand from his cheek into his hair and kissing him softly.
He returned the kiss half-heartedly at first, the feelings of discouragement present in his mind. When her leg moved to wrap around his waist, he pressed her flesh against his body, earning a soft moan from his pinkette. He slanted his mouth over hers fully, easily sliding his tongue past her lips to tangle with her own. She hummed softly in approval, tugging softly at his silver strands.
He rolled her over onto her back, kissing down her jawline and neck. “At this rate, we won’t tell her before her hangover fades.” He chuckled softly, running his hands down her sides, delighted at the shivers running through her body from his touch.
She opened her eyes to gaze at him lovingly before sitting up, and cradling his face in her hands. “I love you, Kakashi.” She smiled warmly, before pecking his lips softly once more. “But we have got to tell her today.”
He rested his forehead against hers, and nodded softly. “I’ll get dressed and head over to the hokage tower now.”
Sakura looked away. “Do you think she would disband team seven because of us..?” She huffed. “What about Naruto?”
Kakashi sighed softly. “I’m sure Naruto is well aware of the possibilities that us getting together could lead to. I’m not really sure what she will do, but that is usually the protocol when a leader becomes romantically involved with a teammate. But I can imagine she isn’t going to be happy…”
She nodded before curling back up in his blankets and sighing.
“I’ll be back as soon as I can. Don’t wait on me if you have plans.” He chuckled softly and kissed her forehead.
He stood up and strided over to his dresser, grabbing one of his usual standard uniforms. He eased himself into his pants, finding his muscles to feel a bit stiff. He slid a shirt over his torso before slipping on his flak vest. Within moments he was gone from his apartment, leaving Sakura in her thoughts.
Shizune softly knocked on the door, assuming the Fifth would be hungover this morning, as she was many other recent mornings. “My Lady…”
“Go away, there are no mission reports to be gathered as I am more than well aware none of the shinobi I sent are back yet!” The blonde hokage grumbled as her head laid on her desk.
“I actually maybe have some other news of interest, My Lady….” Shizune opened the door to the office of her master and hokage, and the hokages that had come before her. She held a glass of water in her hand, and Tonton in her other arm. “There appear to be some rumours going about.”
Tsunade snatched the glass of water. “Are you really interrupting my hangover with petty gossip, Shizune?” She narrowed her eyes over the rim of the glass as she took a sip, her manicured hands gripping the glass tightly.
“Uh, well. I wouldn’t say i-it is petty gossip, but yes, gossip nonetheless.” Shizune gulped audibly, knowing her friend would not appreciate the coming news.
Tsunade eyed the raven haired girl from behind her desk. She had better hope it was worth waking her up or else she just might knock her into next week. Maybe from right out the window from the top of this damned tower. “Well, get on with it then, what are you waiting for?” She grumbled and settled back against her chair.
Shizune set her shoulders before meeting Tsunade's eyes. “When was the last time you spoke with Sakura?”
The blonde busty woman raised an eyebrow. “Why would Sakura be the object of gossip among shinobi?” Her voice was level, and her fists clenched, ready to clobber anyone who might think it a good idea to put dirt on the name of one of her apprentices.
“Ah, so you haven’t spoken with her in, say, the last week? Month?” Shizune chuckled nervously. “Maybe perhaps about something in her… Personal life?”
“Shizune, the last time I spoke to Sakura, we were talking about her wish to open up a mental health clinic specifically aimed toward shinobi and the traumas they face, as well as her current project with the children’s clinic that she and Ino plan to run together.” She huffed out irritably. “And that was a little over a month ago, outside of just directing her duties in the hospital, as you would know from being present yourself. I don’t know if you could tell, but I’ve been rather busy here and so has she at the hospital.”
Shizune rolled her eyes. Knowing busy was really drowning in sake and grief like usual, only worse still since the death of the beloved Jiraiya. She knew why she drank so much more lately, everyone did. No one had yet dared say anything to her as she still met her hokage duties sober… Mostly so anyway.
“So, no. I haven’t been told about anything in her personal life.” Tsunade snapped. “Now, spill it before you piss me off even more, damnit.”
“Rumours are going around that she and Kakashi are…” Shizune scratched the back of her neck. “Well uh… Together, you could say? Genma said he took her home from the bar about a month ago while they were both pretty deep into drinking.” She watched as Tsunade’s glare only deepened.
“Well, I would think it fit that Kakashi would make sure she got home safely, even in a drunken state. He knows how to handle his liquor like any shinobi. Though Sakura still has that to learn…” The amber eyed woman said through gritted teeth.
“True…” Shizune nodded. “However… That wouldn’t explain Raidou telling me that he heard Asuma telling Kurenai he found Kakashi ‘tangled up with the hokage’s apprentice’, about a month ago...” She snickered lightly. “And we both know it wasn’t me, because I’ve been ‘tangled up’ with Genma…” She blushed lightly at the admittance, even though she knows her shishou is well aware of her feelings for that ‘imbecile’ as she calls him.
“You mean to tell me…” Tsunade stood up from her desk. “That Kakashi is sleeping with Sakura, as a team leader, and her former sensei.”
Truth be told she couldn’t give a damn less that they were together, it was more about how she was finding out. She couldn’t believe Sakura hadn’t told her. Kakashi followed his duty well, so to find that he hadn’t informed her of such events was shocking. Her eyes narrowed the more she thought about the situation.
She was more than well aware that no matter how much Sakura had grown as a ninja, she was still vulnerable emotionally, and the very thought that she could just been used in a drunken one night stand made the motherly woman’s blood boil, well aware that Kakashi was not one for attachments and that Sakura very well would get attached.
“Y-Yes… My Lady.” Shizune nodded softly.
“You find that damned white wolf and you get him in my office, now!”
“Baa-chan!” Naruto came bounding into the office. “Are there any-”
“Naruto, what have I told you about just barging in here!”
Naruto cowered at the sight of her already being angry. “Ah! Why are you so angry, it’s only 9AM, Granny!” Naruto whined and shielded himself from potentially flying office supplies.
“No matter, go find your damned team leader and you had better do it right now!” She snapped.
“Uh-oh…” Naruto nodded gravely and darted from his future office.
That can’t be a good sign. If Kakashi is the reason Tsunade is so angry that could only mean one thing…
Naruto was making a beeline for Kakashi’s apartment before slamming into a familiar and rather amused looking blonde ninja. “Ah, sorry Ino, gotta go!”
“I knew it!” The blonde screeched, having overheard the prior conversation. “Sakura is with Kakashi!”
“Well, yeah! She didn’t tell you?” Naruto stopped and stared at Ino dumbfounded.
“You mean she told you, but not me!”
“Uh… Well… Not exactly. I mean…” Naruto scratched the back of his head. “It’s kind of hard not to notice some kind of romantic tension between your teammates, especially when Sakura came over crying about a month ago, convinced that Kakashi couldn’t love her-” Naruto clamped his mouth shut, realizing Sakura may beat him senseless for revealing such intel. “Oh, man! I’ve already said too much!” And turned and darted out of the building. “Granny Tsunade is gonna skin Kakashi alive!”
“Tsunade is gonna do what to my flawless skin…?” Kakashi deadpanned from the entrance to the Hokage tower as Naruto ran past him. He gave a weary look to the top.
Something tells me someone told her before I got to do just that in a few moments from now… This is gonna be fun. He shivered at the thought of her brute strength aimed directly at him, and with full intent of causing bodily harm. “Perhaps I should turn around before she gets the chance..?” He shook his head and sighed.
“Wait! Kakashi!” Naruto ran back to his team leader. “Kakashi, I think Granny Tsunade knows…” He laughed nervously. “And she’s definitely not uh… Thrilled?” He scratched the back of his head. “She sent me to get you but you’re already here! She’s scary mad already...”
“That bad, huh?” Kakashi deadpanned. “Well I knew this was coming.” He sighed before walking up to his beloved hokage’s office. He went to knock on the door before she berated him through it.
“Kakashi, I know that’s you! Get your ass in here, now!”
He stepped inside and closed the door. “Hokage-sama. I was already on my way before you sent Naruto for me.”
Tsunade glared daggers at him. “So then you have something to tell me?” She enunciated her words rather harshly compared to other meetings and he winced silently.
“Well, uh. I’m not exactly good at expressing myself, for reasons you’re rather quite aware…” Kakashi looked at her and proceeded to rake his fingers through his silver strands. He thought briefly for a moment about how it feels much better when Sakura does it before clearing his mind.
Shizune watched him closely, curious about how this all ended up happening.
“Do you really think Sakura is an acceptable kunoichi for you to be having little rendezvous with, Kakashi?” She growled out.
He flinched slightly. “Tsunade, they aren’t just rendezvous.” He straightened up and met her eyes. “Do you really think I’m stupid enough to bring that sort of awkwardness and unprofessionalism to my team?”
“Don’t you catch a tone with me!” She stood up and came round her desk and stomped towards him, her heels clicking with her fury, until she was face to face with him. “And if that’s not the case, then maybe you should explain to me these damn rumours about my apprentice being tangled up with you.”
“Well, that part is no rumour.” He said flatly, looking her in the eye. “Now, the context surrounding it, perhaps.” He kept his shoulders straight, continuing to hold eye contact. “This isn’t just some fling, Tsunade. ”
Outside the room, Sakura slowly came up to the door. She was about to knock when she heard Tsunade’s voice.
Tsunade watched him carefully, listening to what he was saying. “Since when did you fall in love? You’ve avoided being close to anyone since your original team.” She knew it was a low blow, but he had better not been playing her naive apprentice. “Sakura is rather impressionable, Kakashi, I won’t have another emotional stump ripping her heart out if I can help it, damn you.”
“I love her. I... love Sakura.” He sighed, and slumped into one of the chairs in her office. “You don’t have to tell me that she’s vulnerable…” He was a little surprised at the vehemence in her voice, expecting more of a lecture of duty from a boss, as opposed to the protective fury of a mother. He should have known the two would mix here. “I have absolutely no intentions of ripping her heart out, Lady Tsunade.”
“Kakashi, if you break her, so help me, you will know no other pain than what I inflict upon you… She is not some plaything for you.” The blonde spat at him.
She smiled softly, being well aware of Tsunade throwing around threats shamelessly, but also at the protectiveness in the voice bearing the words. She couldn’t believe that Kakashi was being so raw with her shishou. When she heard Kakashi’s voice, sounding more than stressed she frowned.
He met Tsunade’s eyes, allowing more emotion into them for her to see than he ever had for anyone other than Sakura. “Did you ever think maybe she came to me? I never intended to act on my feelings, ever.” He took a deep breathe, trying to keep himself composed. “Sure, we got drunk, and she cried that she didn’t want to be alone. In a lapse of judgement, I brought her to my place with no real intentions other than to comfort her, like I always have. She kissed me, and I let it go a little too far before I realized I had my former student pinned between myself and my couch and my mouth.” He gulped. “I tried to distance myself, even though I have realized I care for her deeply, more deeply than I could say I’ve ever cared for any team mate.”
Sakura wanted nothing more than to burst through the door and save him from her master’s wrath but he insisted he be the one to tell her, and here he was doing exactly that. She knew this wouldn’t be a pretty conversation, but she had hoped Tsunade wouldn’t automatically assume the worst of him. She stood out the door, eavesdropping and holding her breath at times to make sure she could hear them clearly.
“You were her sensei! How long have you ‘cared deeply’ for her, eh? Hopefully not while she was 13.” Tsunade spat. “Not even Jiraiya was ever so dirty.”
He scoffed. “It’s not like that! Just because I enjoyed Jiraiya’s books and am a bit perverted doesn’t make me that disgusting!” He shot back. “I’m well aware of how it looks, but I would have never looked at her in such a way while she was still a child. I never… Intended to ever look at her past being a comrade…” He threw his hands up, his next words coming sarcastically. “Yeah, I totally sat there and looked at her back then and thought ‘wow maybe I could love again’ when she was thirteen and I was twenty-six! Do you really think that low of me?” He huffed.
Tsunade stared at him momentarily, taken aback by the outburst coming from the usually indifferent and emotionally stable man. Perhaps that was a bit far of an accusation. She sighed and crossed her arms. “No, I don’t. That was uncalled for.” She stared at him with narrowed eyes. “But how does this happen? You’ve been stone cold, even keeping people close to you, like Guy, at arm’s length. And now you’re telling me you love Sakura. How long has this been going on, hm? Also, how about the part where it’s your responsibility to inform me of such dynamics forming so that I can decide whether or not to reassign your team?”
“I had been coming here to tell you about everything before you sent for me. I have already even warned Sakura that we could be reassigned.”
Kakashi stopped talking a moment, feeling pensive. Remembering the little moments that had begun to shift his feelings toward her. Fleeting moments during training and spars, when she would be dressed a bit scantily. Moments when they had made eye contact for just a little too long. Moments where he had comforted her or saved her. Moments where he allowed physical contact between them more and more often until it felt normal with her. Moments where she found him at the stone, and he told her bits and pieces of his pain. Moments where being open just came naturally before he even thought about it. Moments when he realized he felt jealousy over her with other guys. Moments where he began to realize he didn’t want life without her, that simply staring at her name on a stone would never suffice his grief and guilt if she ever died. Moments where his judgement had faltered even just slightly, like the night of the bar.
“And if you never planned to act on it, what changed now?”
He sighed, deciding he’d have to start from the beginning. “I was at the bar, Genma convinced me to go. To my understanding, Ino had convinced Sakura to go out, but then got drunk and sad and called Choji to pick her up. Sakura had stayed behind, I’m not sure as to why.” He shrugged, knowing Tsunade would care less about the parts not involving himself. “There had been some creep trying to demand her attention and wasn’t taking no for an answer, and she had sought out the ‘jounin corner’ where we always sit when we go-”
“And who is ‘we’” Tsunade asked.
“Asuma, Guy, Genma, Anko, Kurenai, Genma, and Kakashi, and sometimes I’m there as well.” Shizune cut in.
Kakashi nodded. “Kurenai's eyes widened and then a female voice was saying something about having asked to be left alone, and I recognized her as I finally sensed her chakra. I had been on my third careen.” He scratched the back of his head, clearly knowing that was too much.
“Then I heard the man talking to her in one of those dark, low tones, suggesting she went with him. I turned my head and threatened him, and saw just this look on her face as she was looking at me. I had never seen her so happy, no, so relieved, to just be near me. And the way that guy was looking at her had just-” He grimaced at the memory. “I’d never felt such a need to make it clear someone wasn’t available, even though she was! I just felt so… Possessive but also protective of her. I pulled her in close to me, and then even after he’s gone, she doesn’t move, and seems rather content. It piqued my curiosity, but I was drunk and it was wrong.” He hesitated to continue, sure that the next part just might get him a chakra enhanced fist in his face, but decided the truth was well worth whatever pain he may end up with.
“Once she kissed me at my apartment and I heard her moan from a simple touch, I was instantly sober, because I realized my former student was in my arms and even if I had started to realize I loved her, us being drunk was not how I would have ever wanted us to start.” He shook his head softly. Tsunade raised an eyebrow, having been surprised to hear her student had made such a bold move. “So tell me, where did you go from there? How do you end up with her still even after that lapse, and you still pushing her away?”
“It hurt her because I backed off and told her she was drunk and I wouldn’t take advantage of her and this was wrong, that what I did was wrong. I let her sleep in my bed and I slept on the couch.” He heard her hum softly, but now she’s staring at him intently and he hates being under such scrutiny. “And then a few days later, Naruto bursts into my apartment ready to kill me because she’s at his house crying to Hinata over that night because little do I know, she loves me and fears that it was just alcohol and lust that lead me to kiss her back. And damn it, it wasn’t but I was just trying to do right by her. ”
He gripped his fists on the arms of the chair. “I’ve never met anyone who ever made me even consider love, let alone feel it. Not since Minato died… I would never intentionally cause her pain.” He said brokenly.
Sakura hates to hear the pain in his voice. She placed her hand silently on the door, wishing she could comfort him. She just wanted to see him and hold him, knowing the pain that lies in his memories of losing his sensei, the last surviving family he had had. She had stopped masking her chakra, not caring if any of them knew she were there. She would still hold the respect and not walk in without invitation. To hear the man being so open and raw in his feelings for her shocked her a bit, knowing he was almost never like that with anyone. However, it was seeming he was being ripped apart by Naruto and now Tsunade over her, when he had let those walls come down slowly between them. It just made her feel guilty...
“Kakashi…” Tsunade softened suddenly, sensing a familiar chakra signature.
She could see now, the anger fading. The way Kakashi seemed like an open book, even if it was out of pure fear of what she might do. The more she thought about it, the more she started to realize she had seen them together an awful lot over the past year or so. How Sakura was always happy around him, and always chose to train with him when she could have trained with anyone. She vaguely remembers the very man in front of her bringing coffee a few times to the pinked haired girl, despite his hate for hospitals.
And she even remembered how much less he fought and complained about being healed or being in a hospital whenever Sakura was appointed to care for him, whether it was a serious injury or his routine check ups on the sharingan.
“I was disgusted with myself.” He said in a low tone. “Look at me. I’m jaded and traumatized like most ninja my age. Falling for this…” He smiled a little bit. “This girl I initially looked over years ago, because she acted like a typical emotional girl and not a shinobi, fawning over Sasuke. This girl that went under the tutelage of yourself, and became a woman and a strong shinobi. This woman who has seen a war, yet still has this hope in her eyes. This woman who was always at my side for the past year. I only ever realized how much she had truly grown in a sparring session, and have felt the disgust with myself since, and it only grew worse after that kiss. This woman, who somehow got behind my walls, and rather easily. This woman who insisted on taking care of me, this woman who knows exactly what, and who she wants, no matter what judgements will be thrown. This woman, that I’ve already hurt, and have failed multiple times. How did she go from loving Sasuke, to loving the man that couldn’t keep him with her? How did she get under my skin and make me love her too? I can’t tell you when it started because I spent a good deal of time refusing to even acknowledge it. And even when I did admit it to myself, it felt wrong.”
“Kakashi, she was your student…” Shizune said softly. Tsunade put a hand up in Shizune's direction.
He frowned before cradling his head in his hands. “Yeah, I’m well aware. I was her sensei. I’m fourteen years older. I’m broken, and she’s not, not yet. Not as much as me. She’s still innocent and still believes in life. She has a whole life ahead of her, and doesn’t deserve to be with someone like me… She doesn’t deserve for everyone to look at her like some scandal. Or like she’s just trying to climb the ranks, even though she’s already a jounin herself. She doesn’t deserve to be in a relationship where people question the validity. She deserves someone that can be open all the time, someone that is affectionate and available. Someone who isn’t traumatized and damaged.”
Tsunade placed a hand on his shoulder, a small smile on her face. “Kakashi, stop it… You don’t need to keep tearing yourself apart like this. This is nothing like it looked like initially, you’re not disgusting, and if anyone decides what she deserves, it’s her. And maybe myself.”
“But yet, here she goes after me. After Naruto tells me she was crying because of me, and tries to desperately convince me to tell her I love her once I confide it in him. I don't go to the breakfast he planned, because I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t ruin her life, she couldn’t be hurt by what she doesn’t know. Or worse, bear the thought of losing her if I did let myself actually have her.” He looks up at the ceiling. “But here she comes to the memorial, as if she knows exactly where I’ll be, and knows I’ve been there most of the night. Because she does know. And she’s there, just talking to me, comforting me and I don’t think she even realizes her very presence is comforting to me.”
Shizune watched, now feeling guilty. She hadn’t realized the actual emotions that were tumbling through them.
“All I’m thinking about is how I have failed them, and wondering what Minato would think of me as a sensei. I never lusted after her, I didn’t want this to happen, I knew the consequences of fraternizing with her in a regular situation, let alone in the one where I’m her sensei and much older than she is.”
But she doesn’t care. She never cared about any of that. She only cared that he loved her and she loved him.
“And then she says I need my eye healed, so we go to my apartment and while she’s doing that, I’m thinking about what Naruto said, and about how much I just want to hold her and kiss her. And then she’s telling me she remembers that night and how she felt. I gave in as she’s pulling my mask down and I kissed her. She tells me she loves me, that I’ve always been there for her, and she looks me in the face and holds it in her hands and tells me she’s not going anywhere…” He looked back up at Tsunade. “I thought she was just sick of being alone, but when she did that… When she looked at me said she loved me so sincerely. I just had to believe that maybe Naruto was right, that maybe it could work and we could just…” He ran a hand through his hair. “That we could just be happy. That I could be happy…”
Sakura smiled at the admission, at the fact that he had faith in love, even if it was only a little bit, and that it was fragile. That she was the reason it was there, that Naruto had convinced him even just a little bit that it was worth it…
Tsunade turned away from him and sighed. “Are you aware of what this all entails? What the consequences are…”
He nodded. “Team Kakashi will be disbanded…”
She raised her gaze to meet him again, smirking. “Well, according to the elders it should be. What I might do, on the contrary, is very different. Disbanding your team won’t stop or change the relationship.”
“Shishou!” Sakura burst through the door, not able to take it anymore. “Please, don’t hurt him!” She came up behind Kakashi, placing her hands on his shoulders, a pleading look in her eyes. He glanced up at her in shock, having been too caught up in trying to prove to his superior his feelings were valid and try not to get thrown out of the window like he pictured already, to ever sense Sakura’s presence behind the door.
Tsunade was well aware her apprentice had been outside the door for some time now. She turned to face her student. “Is there a reason why I had to hear about this from Shizune, who heard it from Genma and Raidou who heard something about the“hokage’s apprentice being tangled up in Kakashi’s sheets”, hm?”
Sakura laughed nervously. “Uh, well...uh. It’s only been like… A little over a week?” She offered weakly.
Tsunade raised an unimpressed eyebrow. “A week since it was official or a week since it started.?”
“Uh.” Sakura tried to find the words to explain the whole situation. “Lady, how do you expect me to tell you I fell in love with Kakashi? To tell you I’ve loved him for years? I mean, would you have taken it seriously?”
“Of course we would have!” Shizune exclaimed. “Sakura, you are like her child.”
Sakura looked to the side. “Even so… I wouldn’t even admit it to myself for a long time. Not to mention, what was the point of stirring it all up, up until recent events I was sure it was one sided, and I’m more than well acquainted with unreturned feelings.”
Kakashi reached up and gently grabbed the hand that had been grasping his left shoulder. “This was supposed to be my job, Sakura…”
She squeezed it back. “There’s no way I was gonna sit back and let her pummel you, unjustly.”
Tsunade watched them for a moment, knowing just how sincerely Sakura meant that, even though she’s more than well aware that Tsunade could still kick her ass.
“I actually wasn’t going to pummel him, however; if he ever causes you the kind of pain that breaks your heart, I will be the first to inflict pain he’ll never forget, and then heal him so he’s still on my roster as a shinobi.”
“And… What about our team?” Sakura glanced back towards her surrogate mother.
“I am in charge of  the current team rosters, and you’ve unknowingly had mutual feelings for each other and still worked as a team just fine for at least a year now from my understanding, I don’t see any real reason to disband the squad.” She smiled. “Besides, I don’t feel like having Naruto in here screaming at me for disbanding his team after he finally got one of you to reach out to the other.”
Sakura ran to Tsunade and hugged her tightly. “Thank you so much.”
Tsunade grinned slightly at the show of affection towards her and wrapped an arm around her. “I just want to see you happy. If you would have told me sooner, this could have all been avoided.” She sighed before taking a step back out of the embrace. “You do realize, you’re like, middle aged in terms of shinobi life spans right?”
Sakura gave her an odd look. “I’m 20… That’s hardly middle aged.”
Shizune smiled. “So much optimism for someone who has already almost died during her time as a ninja many times. Some ninja aren’t so lucky as you to make it that far, Sakura.”
Sakura thought for a moment. Remembering Ino talking about a similar philosophy. “So, does this mean you’re not going to castrate my boyfriend?”
Kakashi shivered at the thought. “Hey, don’t go giving her ideas for if she changes her mind now!”
“Oh, so he’s your boyfriend now, huh?”
Sakura stiffened at the sound of a certain purple clad blonde’s voice.
Kakashi snickered softly. “Didn’t I tell you that your little not-so-made up rumour would be cleared up in due time?”
“Sakura, you didn’t even tell Ino?” Tsunade gasped, shocked.
“Ohhh, she tried not to.” She giggled. “But she’s far too obvious for it to have been believable. Asuma and I set a trap, granted it was before they had actually been together the plan had been made.”
“Since when was Asuma planning to try and get me with my teammate.” Kakashi raised an eyebrow at the blue eyed girl in the room.
“Since you made it more than clear you didn’t like other guys flirting with her.” Ino smirked and crossed her arms.
“Ah, so you know the whole story then.” Sakura mused.
Ino huffed. “Uh, no I don’t. I know what Asuma-sensei knows, which was that he took you home.”
Tsunade laughed at the red stain on Sakura’s cheeks. “It would appear that you are terribly obvious to those who were paying closer attention, Sakura.”
Sakura smiled and glanced back at Kakashi, seeing him watching her with such a loving expression in his eyes, even if she couldn’t see the full expression with his mask covering his face at this moment.
Ino watched them and just smiled happily for her friend.
“Okay, now get out of my office. I have work to do, you know.” Tsunade threw her hands up and made shoo-ing motions with her hands.
Sakura noted the sake careen on her master’s desk and sighed softly. She walked over and picked it up. “Okay, but it had better be work that doesn’t involve sake.” She looked at Tsunade sadly, thinking of more she wanted to say, debating if it was the right time.
“She’s right, Baa-chan.” Naruto spoke somberly, coming into the room. “Pervy-sage wouldn’t have wanted this…”
Kakashi assumed he had come back to make sure Tsunade hadn’t pulverized him but now the conversation was taking a turn he wasn’t expecting.
Shizune set a hand on Tsunade’s shoulder, as she was trying to fight the tears. No one had dared to bring him up, nor her drinking issue worsening, until now. She hated to see her pain.
“I know…” Tsunade grit past her teeth, choking down the sob. She turned to look at Sakura from the side, her body still facing her desk. “Don’t ever give up on love. And don’t you dare ever let it slip right through your fingers.” She gulped and faced her desk. “Now, all of you, out.”
They all quickly shuffled out of the office. Sakura closed the door softly behind her, before glancing at Shizune and handing her the sake careen.
It was almost unspoken knowledge that Tsunade loves Jiraiya. She never once said it, but everyone suspected it. And they knew he had loved her. All you had to do was look at the Icha Icha novels, and anyone who knew the Fifth, also knew that the main character was clearly made with her in his thoughts.
“That’s the closest she’s ever come to even alluding to being in love with him…” Shizune said softly.
Sakura nodded before reaching for Kakashi, intent on never leaving him. He found her hand, as he performed the signs for his transportation jutsu with his opposite hand. They appeared back at his apartment in seconds and he pinned her to the bed.
That was over and he was eager to make it clear to Sakura just how much he loved her, again. After the emotional torment of that conversation, he needed some kind of release. He didn’t regret it, but that didn’t mean it was easy or desirable.
“I hope you know that no one else has ever been worth ripping myself apart in front of not just one, but now three people in an effort to prove how I love you, no matter how hard I tried not to.” He whispered in her ear before nipping it harshly.
She murmured softly as he pinned her to the bed, and whined as he nipped her ear. She nodded, trying to shift her wrists within his palm that had them pinned to the mattress. “K-Kakashi…”
“I think we have something to finish from earlier, if my memory serves correctly.” He smirked before placing hot kisses against her neck.
She hummed as she wrapped her legs around his waist. “Mm, I believe we do.” She pressed herself into him. “Now, if you would let me go so we could get to that.” She tilted her head back as he bit down on her neck and began to suck, causing shivers to run through her body. She whimpered softly, arching her back off the mattress. “Please…”
He pulled away from her neck and sat up slightly and smirked down at her. “And if I don’t?” He tightened his grip on her wrists. “Are you gonna use your chakra, hm? Beat me into next week?”
She narrowed her eyes at him. “If you keep me from touching you for your own pleasure, I have other ways I could get my pay back, trust me.” She huffed.
“Oh, yeah?” He hummed softly, before deciding that might be for another time. “Maybe I’ll be daring enough to find out later.” He let her wrists go, before sliding her shirt off and kissing the valley between her breasts. “You didn’t put your wrappings back on?” He mumbled against her skin appreciatively before kissing up the side of her left breast and twirling his tongue around her hardening nipple.
Sakura moaned, still questioning how he made her feel so much pleasure with such little effort. “N-No…” She stammered.
He smirked before pulling away from her breast with an audible pop. He slid his hand down her body and delved his fingers past the hem of her shorts and past her lace panties. He rubbed her clit with two fingers in fast circles. She cried out in pleasure almost instantly.
He could feel how wet she already was and made him twitch against his own clothing. “So wet for me, already?” He chuckled before slipping a finger into her entrance, sliding it against her slickness with ease.
“K-Kakashi…” She moaned and squeezed her eyes shut, her hips bucking into his touch.
Every single time they had made love, he had catered to her every request and made sure she felt amazing. But he hasn't made any requests of his own. She wasn’t stupid and heard Ino talk about sex enough to know what men liked, and even little tips on how to make it feel extra good. “L-Let me pleasure you for once…”
“Hm…?” He looked down at her curiously. “Pleasuring you is pleasurable.”
She sat up, and slid her hand into his pants and past his boxers. She placed a kiss on his shoulder as she gripped his member and began to slide her hand up and down his length slowly. “But I want to please you, myself.” She whispered into his ear.
His breath hitched as soon as her hand began to move, before he groaned slightly. “S-Sakura…” He shut his eyes tight as she kept sliding her hand against him, gaining a little more confidence in her motions. He placed gentle kisses on her cheek before slowly pressing his hips down into her motions.
Sakura smirked and pushed him off her onto the bed, before getting her knees between his legs. She bit her lip as she looked up at him, with a dirty trick in her mind. “Yes, Sensei..?” She replied in a sultry tone.
His eyes went wide as he sat back to stare back at her as she shifted her weight more comfortably on her knees. He couldn’t quite pinpoint how he felt about that as she bit her lip and looked up at him from the floor, looking sexier than any other woman ever had before him on her knees. Even if it was sexy, he knew his carpet was less than inviting and pleasurable for her in it’s worn out state. He grabbed a pillow and playfully smacked her with it. “Here, use that to put it under your knees.” He said softly before lifting her chin and catching her eyes with his. “You don’t have to do this, you know…” He rubbed his thumb across her cheek.
She met his eyes, and her heart swelled at the love in them. She shifted and placed the pillow below her knees, before tugging his pants off and smiling. “I know.” She gripped his member once more, sliding her hand up and down a little faster this time. “But I want to.”
She began to rotate her wrist as she slid her fingers across his length, rubbing her free hand across his inner thigh and placing soft kisses on the exposed skin.
Kakashi leaned back on his elbows and watched her carefully, a moan escaping his lips as soon her lips met the skin of his thigh. He wasn’t sure how far she exactly planned to go, but he was going to welcome every bit of distance she decided she wanted to take. She looked rather hot in his opinion, being shirtless and pumping his length with a surprising amount of confidence.
She waited until his eyes slipped closed before she decided to flick her tongue over the tip, swirling around it the way she remembered Ino describing one time. Her cheeks tinted pink as she repeated the actions, making a mental note to thank Ino for the description she had been so reluctant to hear in the past.
Kakashi's eyes shot back open and he threw his head back with a loud moan as soon as he felt her tongue swipe across the tip of his manhood. His hand moved to grip her hair lightly. “Fuck, Sakura…”
“Mmm, you taste salty, Sensei…” She commented in an alluring tone. She slowly took him into her mouth then and sucked softly on only the very tip.
He moaned and gripped her hair tighter. “Damnit, I hate and love that you’re calling me that…” He had no idea where she got off to think to call him that. Some women had done it before after seeing the picture of his team and it had been a turn on, a sense of dominance, but it was different when it was actually his former student saying it now. The same feeling of dominance and submissiveness being a turn on, but also a little weird and unsettling when she had actually been his student once.
She snickered, before coming off him with an audible pop. “I remembered a scene from Icha Icha, and guessed you just might like it.” She licked her lips and took him back into her mouth, taking more of him between her lips, and bobbing her head a little bit.
Kakashi bit his lip and gently guided her up and down his length. “I had no idea that you…” He cut off the sentence as he moaned again at the feeling of her sucking. “Fuck, how are you so good at this already.” He panted.
She took more of him in her mouth, trying to keep the back of her throat open. She wrapped her hand around his base and began to pump the remaining part of his length in time with bobbing her head. The groan she heard from her lover as well the tightening grip in her hair confirmed that she was doing rather well. She moved her tongue around the muscle as she slid her lips along his shaft.
“Sakura…” He let himself fall completely back into the mattress, his breathing was ragged. He couldn’t believe she was doing this, he couldn’t have even imagined asking her to do this so soon. His eyes fluttered close as she picked up her pace. He felt her free hand resting beside his thigh on the bed, and he reached for it, grasping her fingers between his tightly.
She squeezed his hand back. Her jaw was starting to ache a bit, and she was beginning to realize why women have complained about this very action. She didn’t mind it much as she continued to suck and lick at his member, loving the moans that slipped freely from his mouth.
Suddenly the hand that had been guiding her with the tight grip in pink locks pulled her away as he sat back up and looked down at her, some his precum dripping down the side of her mouth.
“If you don’t stop, I’m going to lose it.” He breathed out. Sakura licked her lips before smirking and standing, hooking her fingers at the waistband of her shorts.
“Pretty good for my first time, then?” She bit her lip and looked at him, her eyes darkened with need.
He slipped his shirt off and pulled her into his lap as her shorts hit the ground. “Amazing.” He pecked her lips and slid his hands to grip her ass. He leaned into her to press a kiss to her temple before whispering huskily in her ear.“Now since you’re so hell bent on pleasing me today, ride my dick just as good as you just sucked it.”
Sakura’s face flamed red at his dirty phrasing, but nodded. “As you say, Sensei.” She braced herself on his shoulders, before slamming herself down onto him.
They both moaned at the contact, Kakashi’s grip on her ass tightening. “Again.” He commanded. She repeated her movements, and he thrust up into her with perfect timing this time.
“Kakashi!” She cried out, gripping his shoulders with immense strength.
He moved to grip her hips and guided her movement, slamming her down onto him once again. “What did you call me earlier, Sakura?” He spoke low in her ear. He had come to the conclusion he liked it when she said it, as dirty it was coming from her.
Sakura bit her lip, and looked into his eyes. “S-Sensei…” She moaned out.
He kissed her hard in approval and she kissed him back with the same urgency, thrusting her hips in time with his.
His mouth left hers to trail wet kisses down her neck as she dug her nails into his skin, forming new crescent marks that were scattered across his back along with various scratch marks left by her in their lovemaking.
She had always imagined Kakashi would be rough in bed, and demanding. She had been starting to think she was wrong as he had been mostly gentle until now, not doing more than having an iron grip on her hips and leaving the occasional hickey she’d heal before she went out in public. And now he was being just as demanding as she always figured he would, and it was turning her on so much.
“Sensei, you feel s-so good…” She moaned out between pants, sweat covering her body now.
He rolled over, pushing her onto the bed. “Fuck,” He panted, raising one leg over his shoulder and nipping at her calf, being able to thrust into even deeper at the new angle.
She bit her lip as pleasure wrecked through her body. “K-Kakashi, there!” She writhed on the bed, shivers running through her body from every nip on her leg. He slammed into her the same exact way again.
“God, you’re still so tight and soaking wet…” He moaned as he pulled back and slammed his hips right back into hers. “You’re sexy as fuck right now, Babe…”
Sakura could feel the heat pooling in her center as he kept talking to her. Who knew the white wolf would say such dirty things to someone as pure as herself, but she loved every word of it. Her hair was soaked with sweat now as he kept pounding into her, making her reach her peak. “S-Sensei…”
“That’s it, cum for me, Sakura.” He spoke low in her ear as he bent down, pressing her leg to stretch farther than she’d ever gotten it to before in warm ups. Her back arched off the bed as she cried out in ecstasy, her own result of such pleasure soaking Kakashi’s member. He slammed into her especially hard before biting down on her shoulder as he sunk himself to the hilt, releasing his own climax as he growled against her skin.
After a few moments of catching their breath, Kakashi moved his arm to let her leg fall back down alongside the other. He showered her face with light kisses before smiling down at her.
She slowly opened her eyes to meet his gaze and grinned. “That was phenomenal…” She breathed out between panting, still catching her breath.
Kakashi smirked before chuckling softly. “You look like an absolute goddess right now…” He brought a hand to stroke her cheek softly. “Stunning in all your sexed up glory.”
She swatted his hand away. “Oh yeah, I bet.” She couldn’t help the beaming smile that came across her lips. “You face Tsunade and she almost beats you to a pulp, and then you run right back into bed with me!” She laughed.
“Hey, every minute with you is worth whatever amount of chakra induced pain she would have ever given me.” He gave his signature eye crinkle, fully visible with a toothy smile and her heart melted. He brought a hand to smooth over her hair and move it out of her face. “I love you, and I always will.”
Sakura stared back at him before turning her face to place a quick kiss on his hand. “I love you, too.”
“I think it’s time that I take you dinner, on a proper date, my love.” He hoisted her up and walked her to the bathroom. “But first a shower is in session.”
Ino had just finished excitedly telling Choji about Sakura and Kakashi as she sat at the meeting spot, waiting for Asuma and Shikamaru to show up for a sparring session. She sat between his legs, her side leaning against his chest and her legs kicked over one of his own as she was looking up at him excitedly. “Can you believe it! I’m so happy for them!”
Choji smiled down at her as he played with the strands at the end of her ponytail. “After everything she’s been through, she deserves to be happy.”
“Kakashi too! He’s friends with the other jounin, especially Asuma and Genma, but he’s never let anyone get close after he had lost his team is what I’ve been told.”
Choji nodded. “My Dad was shocked to see he had passed Team 7 back then…” He kissed her forehead. “I guess everything happens for a reason, huh?”
Asuma had approached, raising an eyebrow at the scene before nudging Shikamaru and pointing, not quite close enough for the pair to notice their teammates just yet. “Looks like he got the girl afterall, doesn’t it?”
Shikamaru nodded. “I’ve always told him if he was just a little more confident, she would see him.” He smiled happily for his friends. “Hey, Choji, you got something to tell me?” He walked lazily towards his best friends.
Blue eyes looked towards Shikamaru and beamed. “Shika!” She stood up. “Actually, we both do!”
“It’s been such a drag watching him try to get your attention, glad to see you finally realized he loves you.” He stuffed his hands into his pockets.
She beamed as Choji kissed the top of her head, his cheeks tinting pink.
“Just don't let it make training awkward…” He scratched the back of his head.
Ino giggled mischievously before flipping her ponytail. “I don’t know what you mean.”
Asuma watched his teammates with pride, glad to see the tension between Ino and Shikamaru was gone. He was sure the genius was going to go insane if things hadn’t smoothed out soon.
“So, how is Temari?” Choji asked. “I know you just came back from ‘setting up the exams’.”
Shikamaru rolled his eyes. “Tsunade somehow had it arranged that there weren’t enough rooms set up for everyone, and of course Temari discreetly suggested I stay with her. It felt planned.” His cheeks had tinted a little pink at the mention of it.
“Oooooh, I guess that makes Team 10 fully deflowered then, huh?” Ino giggled.
Choji proceeded to turn red all the way down to his neck and Shikamaru sighed.
“Okay, now to start training.” Asuma took a fighting stance. “That’s enough talking and catching up, now all three of you versus me. Let’s see how your teamwork skills have survived the inner drama.”
Ino huffed and crossed her arms. “No inner drama would have ruined this formation.” She smirked as she took the lead in attacking Asuma first.
Naruto had leaped across rooftops from the hokage tower, back towards the gates. He landed on the edge, and looked out into the woods. He sighed softly.
“Wherever you are, Sasuke, she’s moved on. Odd how she is attracted to the ones that are traumatized. Is it because she’s medic? Is there some kind of pull in the universe?” Naruto shook his head. “No matter, at least Kakashi was willing to try…”
He stared out into the woods. “We will still find you and we will bring you home one day.”
He left down to the ground and walked back to his apartment where he knew Hinata was waiting for him. He weaved through the streets deep in thought. He was shocked to see that Granny Tsunade hadn’t noticed the bond between Sakura and Kakashi, and that she had been so angry by it at first. But from what he could tell, the same rumours that made it to her were much like what he had heard initially. She had gone home with Kakashi twice. The people of this village are so nosy, getting into people business when it doesn’t concern them. He leapt up to the balcony his apartment door was located on and entered his home.
Hinata was sitting on the couch, eating a bowl of his cup ramen as he walked into the living room. The site made him smile softly. “Hey, Hina…” He sat down next to her and she snuggled into his side.
“Naruto…” She smiled warmly. “Are you okay..?”
He nodded softly. “I’m just thinking about the future. As hokage, Tsunade was really in a tough spot as to how she reacted to Kakashi and Sakura’s relationship. I wonder if I’ll ever be in that position one day. If you don’t know the people personally, how do you make the right decision?”
Hinata studied him for a moment. “Did she disband your squad?”
Naruto took a deep intake of breath and shook his head. “No, but it had come up…”
“Well, that’s good!” She pecked his cheek. “Then why are you worried still? It’s not common for a former sensei and his student to fall in love, so I don’t think you’d have to make that decision.”
He nodded softly. “Right, but what about when team members fall for each other? Should they be separated into different squads?”
She felt his arm squeeze her slightly as he tucked her head under his chin. “I’m not sure. I don’t think it would really make a difference, do you?”
“It’s been said Obito had loved Rin, and chosen saving her over the mission they were on…” He smiled sadly. “Do you think Kakashi would make that choice with Sakura now? Or that he would still focus solely on the mission?”
Hinata shook her head. “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. Some of us would save regular comrades over completing a mission. And I think Kakashi’s stress for team bonding at the beginning shows his regret in the decisions he had made in the past.” She leaned her head against his chest. “I don’t think Kakashi would ever let anything happen to any of his friends, and especially not Sakura. Wasn’t that his fear, to get close to her and then have to deal with the pain of losing her?”
Naruto nodded softly. “You’re right…”
Hinata hummed softly, finishing her ramen. She thought more on the subject, remembering Kurenai saying that there should never be any regret in saving someone you care about. Hinata thought of times when she had been on missions and Kiba and Shino saved her when she was still weak. Her fight with Neji at the chunin exams, and how Naruto had been in such an outrage. When she had been attacked by Pain.
“If she would have disbanded the team, it still would have been worth getting them together and seeing them as happy as they are. It may be easier to see in Sakura, but it is with Kakashi too. When I found them in his apartment, the whole world seemed to be right, seeing them in each other’s arms. His mask was off from kissing her, and he looked so happy, smiling right at her….” Naruto smiled down at her.
“I’m sure they will be together for a long time.”
Naruto took the cup ramen from her hands and set it on his desk. “I hope we are too, Hinata…” He placed a soft peck on her lips, resting his hands on her hips.
She blushed but smiled warmly at him. “Me too, Naruto…” She stood up from the couch.
He grinned like an idiot before picking her up bridal style and carrying her to his room. “Let me show you just how much I love you, Hina…” He kissed her softly, setting her on his bed.
The Hyuuga girl became flustered but returned his kiss, bringing her hands to cup his face. “O-Okay, Naruto…”
Ino had drug Sakura back out to the bar that night. “Come on, you know Kakashi is waiting!”
“I don’t think this is what he meant by taking me on a proper date.” The pinkette grumbled to her best friend.
Ino shrugged. “It was Asuma’s idea for everyone to meet up at the Shuriken tonight.”
Sakura smiled. “You know, it isn’t any rumour that he found us. It was kind of funny actually.” She giggled. “He was walking into Kakashi’s room, saying ‘that Haruno girl has eyes for you’ just as he set his sights on us. He said something about Kurenai saying Kakashi needing a nudge.”
“Who knew that Asuma-sensei would have been such a matchmaker.” Ino said flippantly.
Sakura rolled her eyes. “Naruto was more the matchmaker here. Kakashi and I would have probably continued to pretend the night at the bar never happened if Naruto hadn’t overheard me crying and talked to us, and convinced me to tell him how I felt.”
Ino shrugged. “You never know.”
They rounded the corner of the bar towards the rest of their jounin colleagues, and Sakura found herself being pulled into Kakashi’s arms once again. He held her snug to his from, his fingers rubbing her hip once again.
“Look at that, Hatake has his little pinkette again.” Anko antagonized.
“Poor Anko, he’s off the market for you now.” Genma said sarcastically.
Sakura rolled her eyes at Genma’s antics. “As if he was on the market in the first place.”
“She’s got a point there.” The senbon user shrugged.
“So, Sakura, how’s the sex god for you? I’m sure you’ve heard by now that the very few nights he’s had have left women more than impressed. Did he pluck you of your innocence, hm?” Anko made a suggestive look towards the younger kunoichi.
Ino snickered as Sakura turned crimson and hid her face in Kakashi’s shoulder.
The blonde sat next to Asuma, a spot still open next to her for Choji. Their sensei turned in her direction. “He’ll be here soon, he’s ordering wings.”
Ino smiled softly as she crossed her legs. “So, tell me, how red did Sakura turn last time she was here?” The blonde smirked as she looked in her friend’s direction.
Genma smirked. “Oh, she was cherry red. And about just as cozy, the nervous aura about her is gone though.” His senbon bounced along with his speech.
Kakashi shrugged and kissed the top of her head.
“Oh, Kakashi, it’s so amazing to see you with the blessing of a youthful soul!” Guy gushed. “How romantic of a tale to tell one day! A jaded old ninja such as yourself falling for the cherry blossom of hope that is Sakura!” He brought a hand to chest, tears pricking in the corners of his eyes as he smiled. “Oh, if only Lee would be able to accept this loss of such a beautiful flower easily.”
Sakura and Kakashi stared at Guy at his dramatic display, both unsure of how to respond.
“I’m not that old.” Kakashi said plainly before shaking his head.
Ino raised an eyebrow. “I don’t know, 34 is pushing it don’t you think?”
“Hey!” Asuma chided, having been in his late forties now. “Kakashi is younger than me, you can’t go calling him old, because I damn sure ain’t old yet!”
Ino was giggling now. “Asuma-sensei you’re like 48! That’s almost 50.”
“So what’s with blonde here, hm? Wanna come sit here with me?” The senbon user winked at Ino.
Asuma, forgetting completely about the age argument now, sent a subtle glare in his direction. “Genma, seriously?”
“Not a chance.” Ino crossed her arms. “I’m here with Choji.”
“Damn, no round two then, eh?” He teased.
Ino’s eye twitched slightly as she tinged pink.
“That’s exactly what she’s saying.” Choji said smoothly as he sat down next to Ino and handed her some fancy drink with an umbrella in it before he wrapped his arm around her shoulders.
“Wait just a minute, since when did you have a fling with Genma!” Sakura whipped her head to face Ino.
Ino laughed nervously. “We will not be discussing that.”
“No, no we will not.” Asuma confirmed. “I don’t wanna be reminded.”
Choji laughed at their sensei’s clear dismay at the thought of his student being with one of his friends. He was well secure in knowing Ino would be faithful to him and wasn’t even slightly bothered. “Oh come on, Asuma sensei. How’s it any different than Kakashi and Sakura?” He grinned.
Ino tensed a bit at the comparison. It wasn’t even close. She had been in a henge, 16, and stupid. Not 20 and in love. She didn’t want to talk about it.
Genma was now regretting his teasing that had been meant as a joke as he noticed how tense Ino had gotten. “Actually, it was… Definitely different. I was just trying to kid around a little bit. Ino, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable.”
Kakashi was slowly recalling the incident, remembering having to hold Asuma back from beating Genma to a pulp after he had mentioned he may have accidentally taken the young girl’s virginity.
“I’m clearly missing something here.” Sakura crossed her arms, feeling out of the loop.
Ino huffed before glancing at Sakura. “Remember how you used to give advice about going out in henges when we were younger…”
Sakura narrowed her eyes. “Oh, you mean the thing I said was irresponsible and even a little scary?”
Ino nodded and then glanced at Genma. “My virginity.”
Sakura's eyes widened. “But that was when we were…” Kakashi shook his head.
“Let’s not mention that last part, we all know.”
Kurenai giggled and smoothed her hand over Asuma’s arm. “It’s still kind of touchy for Asuma, he views his team as his kids…”
“I barely avoided that ass whipping, and really I have Kakashi to thank for coming to my defense.” Genma shrugged.
“You deserve one for bringing it back up in the first place.” Ino huffed and crossed her legs.
“Hmm, you never told me who it was that night.” Sakura snickered slightly. She wouldn’t voice it, but she remembered the very night Ino had come over to tell her all about that. Sakura had been embarrassed to hear about it. Ino had been slightly ashamed but also exclaimed that it had been amazing. She had a crush on Genma back then and it had been the sole purpose of going out in the henge in the first place, but she never knew it had actually been him Ino had bedded with that night. Now it just seemed odd with Choji here with Ino, her no longer looking for a one night fling. She watched her with Choji now, her form fitting right into his side much like she did with Kakashi. “I’ve got a killer right hook if it’s ever necessary.”
“Oh yeah, said the damsel in distress that came rushing over here about a month ago from an insistent creep.” Genma drawled out.
“H-Hey, I can’t go chakra punching civilians!”
“Or maybe she just knew Kakashi would come to her rescue.” Anko drawled.
“I didn’t even know he was here until I came around the corner!” Sakura pouted.
Kakashi just chuckled and brought his hand up to her face to brush hair out of her eyes. “Regardless, if he had laid a finger on you that night, I wouldn’t have given a damn about him being a civilian. Neither should you when you’re about to be assaulted. Granted you could barely walk 10 minutes later, your chakra control was probably already affected by then.”
“For being around Tsunade so much, you’d think she would handle her liquor better…” Kurenai mused.
Sakura huffed indignantly. “No thanks…”
Kakashi discreetly kissed her cheek, before whispering in her ear. “Shame, you were an awful cute drunk.”
Despite her embarrassment, Sakura smiled, glad to have a night out with friends, and to be with someone herself instead of third wheeling with Ino.
“So, how is that root kid working out on team 7?”
“Oh, Sai? Naruto and him get along great now.” Sakura giggled. “But he is still amused by antagonizing Naruto from time to time.”
“It can be quite amusing sometimes.” Kakashi concurred.
They spent the rest of the night talking and drinking, getting to know Sakura, Ino, and Choji more. She laughed and blushed and answered most of their questions, but started to feel like she was being watched. She scanned the room around her multiple times throughout the night, not able to spot any suspicious looking people. She vaguely whispered to Kakashi and his arm tightened around her protectively.
“You know, one day, this corner will be filled with you three and your friends. And it’ll just be old Kakashi at Sakura’s side, all wrinkly eyed!” Guy proclaimed.
Anko looked at Guy with a dead stare. “You do realize besides Asuma, we’re all withing four years of each other, right Guy?”
Sakura, not really hearing the current conversation, noticed Ino scanning the room as well, a frown on her face. “Does anyone else just feel… Like someone is watching?” The blonde asked softly, timidly.
Sakura nodded. “It’s like…” She frowned as she scanned the room for the fiftieth time that night. “It’s just an unsettling feeling like there’s some lurker or something.”
Anko and Kurenai shook their heads before their eyes narrowed. “I don’t feel watched.” Kurenai said slowly.
Asuma frowned. “Maybe we should call it night.”
Kakashi nodded and stood up, keeping an arm around Sakura. “Choji, you shouldn’t leave Ino alone tonight…”
The younger male just nodded, worried about why the two girls felt some presence that no one else seemed to pick up on. It wasn’t like he hadn’t spent a couple nights at her house already.
Everyone left in groups, keeping an eye out for anything or anyone unusual in the village.
Sakura went back to his house. She changed into one of his shirts again and laid in his bed. He soon followed after having stripped down to his pants. He laid behind her and wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her close and tight to him. She still felt watched as she laid in Kakashi’s arms.
“Something isn’t right…” She mumbled softly, turning around and burying her face into the crook of his neck.
“You’re safe with me, don’t worry.” He just held her tight. “Just get some sleep, I won’t let anything happen to you, you know that.” He kissed the top of her head before he closed his eyes, even though he could already tell he wouldn’t be sleeping much if at all.

If you’re doing those dialogue prompts, maybe 8 or 10? Can’t decide which one so I’ll let you decide
from this list (pls don’t regret sending this. it’s angsty and sad and starts with the word ‘divorce’, but it ends on a happy note, I promise!)
Divorce had always been a scary word to Tony.
As a child, it had meant that his parents weren’t going to live together anymore, that his dad was going away and he wouldn’t see him much. It meant arguments and screamed accusations, tears and slammed doors. It had been a nightmare.
As an adult, it was hell.
Divorce as an adult meant no more Steve. It meant that Tony had been such a shit husband that he had driven away the only man that had ever truly loved him. It would mean cold days, sleepless nights, quiet and empty rooms.
Who would twirl Tony round in the kitchen whilst waiting for the kettle to boil? Who would drag him away from work and force him to eat and sleep?
It would mean being alone.
      //
The meeting was dragging on. And on. And on.
Tony had stopped listening long ago, almost right at the beginning. He’d made up his mind as soon as Steve had presented him with papers. He would give Steve everything. Tony wasn’t going to fight. Steve could have it all. Without question.
The only thing Tony wanted was his ring. Both, if Steve would give his up. Which, Tony reasoned, he probably would, what with him having initiated the whole divorce thing.
“Mr Stark?”
Tony flinched at the sharp words from one of the lawyers in the room. Right. He was going to be a Stark again. No Rogers, not anymore. He cleared his throat. “Yes?”
“Are you okay, Sir? You haven’t said much.”
Of course he hadn’t. Tony wet his lips, trying to muster up his usual bravado. “Nothing much to say,” he said, tone falling a little flat. “Sounds like it’s all been decided.”
“We still need to–”
Tony stood up, pushing his chair away from the table with a hideous screech across the tiled floor. “Nope. Cover everything off on your own. Steve can have it all.” He turned to his lawyer, trying his hardest to ignore the way his voice had cracked on his husband’s name. Ex-husband’s name. “I’m going to find a decent cup of coffee. Call me when it’s done.”
     //
He didn’t find a decent cup of coffee. He found a mediocre takeaway cup of tea, lukewarm and far too milky, but it gave him something to focus on as he sat in the reception area of the office building and tried to resist the urge to run.
Every time he blinked, all Tony could see was the way Steve’s hand looked without the shining silver ring Tony had put there. That and the expression on Steve’s face as Tony had stormed out of the meeting room, turning back for a split second and forgetting to school his features back into his usual mask of indifference.
“Hi.”
Tony startled so hard that he nearly fell off his chair. He looked up and swallowed. Though his heart was threatening to beat out of his chest, Tony did his best to keep it from his face. It didn’t matter, of course, because if there was one person in the world that could read Tony, it was Steve.
“Hi.” Tony took a sip of his tea and nearly gagged. Cold, cold, cold. “Meeting over?”
“Yeah.” Steve sat down next to Tony. “For now. There’s – we need to reschedule. You need to–”
“Just sign it,” Tony cut in quickly, harshly. “I’m not having another meeting.”
“Tony–”
“No.” It was a snap and Tony took a breath, trying to calm down. “Fuck, Steve, I don’t want this. I don’t want any of this so I’m not sitting in a meeting listening to you divide our entire life and tear my house apart. Just take whatever you want and sign it away.”
Forget the calm. Tony threw his cup away, drops of tea splashing back onto his hand and adding to his bad mood, and stormed towards the door. Forget the debrief with his lawyer and forget going back into that stupid fucking room and having to look at Steve’s damn hand without a ring on it for one more minute.
     //
 “I thought you wanted it.”
If anyone would ever ask why Tony shot out of his skin and spilt his coffee all over his hand, then Tony would have blamed the fact that he hadn’t slept in weeks. Not since Steve had presented him with papers and walked out of their house. Everything made him jump when he was alive because of caffeine alone.
“Then you never knew me at all,” Tony answered, reaching for a napkin and swiping angrily at his burnt hand. “Where are–”
“Outside.” Steve pulled out the chair on the other side of the table to Tony. “I asked them to give us a moment. I wanted to talk.”
Tony pushed his mug away from him, not trusting his shaking hands with a cup of hot coffee. He’d been in a bad mood since his lawyer had called yet another meeting between Steve and Tony and scheduled it for 9am. “Want to take even more from me? My bank account and heart not enough for you?”
Steve sighed and Tony hated the way that it made him feel. He no longer had the rights to cross the room and soothe Steve’s tense shoulders with soft touches and a gentle kiss. “I – you pulled away. You stopped coming to bed, stopped talking to me. What was I supposed to think?”
“You were supposed to think that you could talk to me!” Tony couldn’t hold it in anymore and he stood up, kicking his chair away and clenching his fists. “How long have we been married, Steve? And you suddenly thought–”
“You’ve never done this–”
“–we talk, Steve! That’s what we do–”
“–I wanted to speak about–”
“–you left me.”
Steve fell silent. Tony’s chest heaved.
“You left me, Steve. You did the one thing you promised me that you never would. You walked out and I had nothing.”
There was a long quiet, nothing in the room but the two of them breathing heavily. They didn’t look away from each other.
“I thought you’d left me already,” Steve said finally. “It’s not an excuse, and I know that, but I – that’s it. I thought you were gone and didn’t want to tell me. I’d lost you and I didn’t know why. I gave you an out.”
“You gave yourself an out,” Tony answered quietly, bracketing his arms on the back of his chair and falling forward. He shook his head harshly, standing up and crossing the room towards the door.
“I’m sorry.”
The laugh that left Tony hurt his chest. It was bitter, self-deprecating. Not even slightly real. “Do you mean that, or are you just saying it because you think it’s what I want to hear?”
The silence answered Tony’s question better than any words ever could.
“Right. I’m going to get the lawyers in here. I want to get this over and done with.”
“Tony–”
“No.” Tony didn’t turn around, hand already on the door handle. “This was a bad idea. Anything else we say will be on record and with a lawyer present.”
       ////
 “Do you love me?”
Tony kept his eyes on the wall in front of him. There’d been a picture of their wedding day there until about four days ago. He was going to have to redecorate if he wasn’t going to put anything else up; there was a horrible faded mark in the paint.
It felt strange to have Steve back in their house, back where it had all started. He looked far too uncomfortable in his own house, but he was there. He was there with the couch where Tony had started to sleep more and more, the fireplace that they’d curled up in front of at the start of their relationship, and the radio that had started to fill the air more than their conversations towards the end.
“Shouldn’t I be asking you that?” Tony said darkly. What sort of a question was that anyway? Of course he loved Steve.
Tony wanted to scream out his answer, to yell and to cry and to get down on his knees. Of course he still loved his husband. Without Steve, he had nothing. He was nothing. They were a team, weren’t they? There wasn’t one without the other.
“This wasn’t my idea, after all.”
“Of course I love you.”
It was as though the world stopped turning with Steve’s hushed words. The entire room shrank down, white noise rushing in Tony’s ears. He didn’t know what he’d been expecting Steve to say, but it hadn’t been that.
“I never stopped loving you, Tony. I will never stop loving you. None of this was ever about that, I swear. It was – I don’t know what it was. I wanted you to have the freedom, wanted you to be able to–”
“Yes.”
Steve stopped talking when Tony cut across him. God, when had they gotten so bad at communication? What had broken between them, or when?
It felt as though they’d been living separate lives, each heading down paths that took them away from each other instead of them walking side by side.
“Yes, I love you, you damned idiot.” Tony sniffed, eyes focused on the stupid mark on the wall. “I didn’t want you to go. Never.”
“Then why – why did you make me think…”
Tony let out a watery chuckle, closing his eyes and sinking into the armchair. What a fucking mess. “I don’t know why I pulled away.”
It would have been easy to lie, to pin the blame on Steve and laugh the whole thing off. But a lie wouldn’t put Steve’s ring back on his finger. “We took on new clients and I had to focus on keeping the transitions running smoothly. I was stressed with that and your promotion made you tired. The whole adoption–”
Tony cut himself off with a sharp inhale and threw his head back. “Well. You were there when it fell through. I guess I thought me staying in the office longer and longer was making things easier. Stopping us from snapping at each other at home.”
“Except you were never at home,” Steve said, voice soft but not exactly gentle. “I’d sit up and wait for you only to find a message from whatever assistant you had that week telling me that you’d booked another meeting and I wouldn’t be seeing you until the next day. It felt like a message of its own, in the end.”
Tony wanted to protest and to say that it hadn’t been, but the truth was that he didn’t know if he could. It might well have been. His subconscious might have noticed the wedge between them long before he ever did, his self-preservation kicking in to stop his heart from crumbling right in front of him.
“I’m home now,” he said instead. It didn’t seem like much, but it was all he had left. It had to work. Because it was true. “If you want me to be.”
“Of course I do. I thought you wanted this.”
“Never.”
There wasn’t much else that Tony could think of to say. There were no doubt a hundred things that he needed to say and a thousand more that he needed go hear, but his mind had gone blank. There was only one that he needed to get out and one thing that he wanted in return.
“I didn’t either,” Steve said into the room and Tony felt his eyes on the side of his head. “I only want you. And you to want me.”
“So,” Tony started, biting the bullet and reaching out. He finally looked over at Steve, knowing in his heart exactly what he wanted. “Are you going to tell those lawyers to fuck off because you’re coming home, or should I?”

Day 21 - Love
It was all kind of blurry in my memory.
I spent the whole year designing the concept, daydreaming of my wedding day. Countless hours in pinterest, wedding articles and pictures in the internet. I doodle the invitation letter when I procrastinate doing work.
On day before the big day. It felt surreal, and I was very calm.
We held an “engagement event” but for real, it was actually just an event so both our family and friends can mingle. I did my own make up. I wore a new dress that I’ve bought months before, thinking of this exact event. We did no decoration. The food is even homemade by my aunts. It was a small, intimate and warm small “party”.
I remember it was raining so heavy that afternoon. My wedding is supposed to be outdoor (of course we have plan B if it rains), so my family worried about it.
Surprisingly, I did not worry about it.
I did not remember what I did and thought that evening. But my best friend stayed and slept over. Maybe we just talked about every little things like usual. I remember setting up my alarm at 5am and slept around 11pm.
I woke up to the most beautiful, perfect day in my life.
I have enough sleep. I took a cold shower and prayed. The make up artist was late. The ceremony should start at 9am and they should’ve come around 5.30.
I forgot what time they came. I forgot how hectic and busy that morning was. My best friends came wearing their mustard kebaya, the bridesmaid outfit for the day. They did their make up in my room. My aunts, cousins, in laws come and go, grabbing this and that.
The wedding is handled by my most trusted friend. One of the person I know who is more thorough than me. He’ll get it done smoothly, I know.
Adit and his family came to do a pre photoshoot. I ate my breakfast, and I started getting nervous.
One by one, my friends and family leave my house to the wedding venue. Adit and his family next. I was the last.
It was all blurry. I stayed at a “backstage”, which is the house of the restaurant owner. The venue is my favourite restaurant, and I knew the owner quite well. I was accompanied by my closest family. They took pictures in their phone, we had selfie (I don’t know who took it and if the pictures exist). I did not know what was happening outside. Had my cousins arrive? They should be at the welcome gate. How was the decor? I haven’t had a peek on it. Oh I forgot to set some money aside for the Ustadz. I chat my bridesmaid quick, they solved my problem in minutes.
Then it was time for me to come out. My bridesmaid walked in front of me. My dad was walking beside me, holding my hand. The pianist played some melody. My heart fluttered. The audience were beautiful. They are my nearest and dearest friends, families, and colleague.
The ceremony went very well. It was simple. Adit was sitting beside me. My dad sat in front of me. And I knew I’ll be okay my whole life. They will take care of me. The Ustadz is my childhood teacher who teach me how to read Quran. He made a playful and wonderful sermon.
Then it was hugs, laughs, tears and thousands of pictures. The MC and band was good. I forgot how the food were, I thought they were decent. The day was full of sunshine.
That day. My heart swelled, full of love and grateful feeling. All of my beloved were there, showing that they care and they love me. And I will remember that day as the day of love. Not only for my husband, but for everyone who prayed and wish me a good life.

‘Emergence’ - an interactive fanfic
=======
CHAPTER 3
=======
The three of them walked around the bedroom, after letting Olaf and Sven together for the morning as old pals.
Elsa turned to her sister and brother-in-law.
“Okay, you two. I think that sleep is on the agenda for today.” Smiled Elsa, on a maternal tone. “You’re lucky we’re on Sunday.”
“I’d never have let Anna go in a pub on a week day”, promised Kristoff.
He took his shoes off and walked to the loveseat.
"You can have the bed, I'll sleep on the chair."
Anna turned to him, so fast she almost lost her balance because of how heavy her head felt, and had to hold herself to Elsa. "Wait, what? No, this is ridiculous..."
"You two haven't seen each other in a while. Weeks, isn't it? I'd be cruel to prevent you from a cuddle time. Go on, I'll take the chair. You know it’s a comfortable one anyway."
Anna pouted, and climbed on the bed as Elsa thanked Kristoff. The elder laid down, and Anna used her body as a pillow. The man started to sleep, but Anna had her thoughts preventing her from doing so.
"Elsa... Do you really think that I'm worth of being Queen?" Mumbled Anna.
It was almost inaudible due to both her tiredness and shame.
"Of course, Anna. I swear. Also, you've been ruling for almost a year now, and I haven't heard any bad feedback about it."
Elsa added a smirk. "Well, not catastrophic enough to be heard until the Forest, at least."
Anna chuckled against her belly.
"Ah, a laugh at last!" Smiled Elsa. "It's a victory."
"Hmmm-hmm..."
Anna's head was getting heavier on Elsa, and she could tell her sister would snore anytime soon. However, the redhead resisted the sleep as long as she could.
"Elsa?" She asked, lifting her head.
The blonde looked down at her younger, with a sigh. "How come every time I visit, you always force yourself to stay awake longer? Come on, you've been up all night. Close your eyes."
Anna tapped Elsa's belly. "No, wait, let me talk." She said, in a drowsy voice.
"I'm listening."
"Do you think a Queen can have my character?" She pouted.
Elsa's eyebrows expression melted at the question. "Anna... Your impulsiveness is what makes you you. I wouldn't change it for anything in the world. People of Arendelle admire the asset it brings to your reign. Trust me."
Anna mumbled something like another 'hmmm-hmm', turning her head down again.
"Now, don't make me sing Mama's lullaby. It's time to sleep."
"I'm 22, you know? There's no need to lull m--"
Elsa's finger already stroked down her nose.
"Alright, I get it." Gave up Anna.
Elsa started to regularly stroke Anna’s nose, but it wasn’t really useful. Her sister’s breathing had already changed, and she had stopped talking. Her head tilted a bit on Elsa’s abdomen, and she started to snore in a snap.
The blonde chuckled.
“Sleep well.”
She passed a hand in Anna’s hair, refreshing her a bit. Her head laid down on the bed frame, she realized that on the other hand, she wasn’t tired at all. Elsa ate her breakfast already, and it was above 9am, added to the fact that riding Nokk always gave her lots of energy.
Time would be long waiting for Anna to finish sleeping. And she wouldn’t change her position and interrupt her sister’s sleep for anything in the world. Slowly, Elsa lifted a hand and moved her wrist. In a gust of fresh air, she opened the window just enough for Gale to enter.
“I could sense you twirling outside for a while now. Do you actually enjoy spying on people?” Whispered Elsa.
Gale had the equivalent of a giggle, and they flew to the nearby flower vase to play with the plant’s leaves.
“No no no, don’t play with indoors flowers. Kristoff spent a lot of time picking those for Anna.” Scolded Elsa, still low on her voice to not wake up the Queen.
The wind spirit swooped next to Kristoff. The blonde thought they were about to wake him up for fun, and was about to be frowning again, but thankfully, they only observed him.
There was a silence, only broken by Anna’s snores and the soft ringing of the wind. Gale seemed to be interrogative, hovering above the two lovers.
“They drank too much”, smiled Elsa as an answer. “That’s why they’re so tired.”
Her smile stretched when a pun came to her mind.
“And they didn’t even drink spirits”, whispered Elsa, then she wheezed.
Gale rang and twirled loudly in a shared laugh, and they both went into a cracked giggle. Elsa had to mask her mouth with her hand to not burst of laughter and wake her family up.
“Okay, okay.” She said once she retrieved her regular breathing. “Now go back to the Northuldra, and tell them that Arendelle is safe. And no need to be dramatic, uhm?”
Gale nodded and exited the room. Elsa shook her head and closed the window behind them. She lowered herself on the sheets, and closed her eyes to meditate and pass the hours.
=======
“We’re all gathered today...”
“Not all”, muttered Anna.
She clenched her coat against her, trying with all her will not to cry. Her braids hanged on each side of her tired face as she looked down. She hadn’t slept in a long, too long, time.
The bishop kept going on his speech. “...and the terrible loss of our King and Queen...”
Anna clenched her coat harder. She grasped it with so much force that she thought for a moment it would rip out of her fingers. Don’t cry. Don’t cry. Don’t cry. Be strong. That’s what they want. That’s what they need.
Elsa blinked as she turned around when she heard Anna whisper this mantra to herself. She got a bit blinded by the sudden light of the room of memories. Why was Ahtohallan showing her something in the middle of her meditation? She wasn’t even dreaming. And it had been a while since the magic source sent her memories statues in her dreams.
Unless it was a memory of hers... That her brain acted in her mind as she probably had fallen to sleep. No, it couldn’t be it; for two main reasons: Elsa could tell she wasn’t fully asleep, still feeling both the bed frame at the back of her head and the fresh air of the memory room at the same time. And secondly... She gasped as the noticed, putting a hand on her mouth. This wasn’t a memory of hers... But Anna’s.
Elsa’s eyes widened as she walked through the scene literally frozen in time. A crowd, with everybody wearing mourning clothes... Some Arendelle guards, looking stiff... A bishop, currently reading a sorrow speech... And, Elsa pained to look at it: the two funerary stones of her parents. In the middle stood Anna, younger than her current self. Elsa couldn’t help but try to guess how old she was as she walked to the statue, until it hit her; of course she knew her age when their parents died at sea. 15. She was only 15. And in that moment, in a slap, at the terrible news, Anna had ended her teenage years. Her parents were dead, and she barely knew how to stand royally in front of a crowd.
The fifth spirit gasped and some tears rolled on her face. Ahtohallan, why? Why this memory? Why now? Usually, when Elsa visited the glacier from time to time, she strategically avoided the bad memories. Was the source punishing her from doing so by forcing her to face this one? Elsa rubbed her crossed arms, curling a bit on herself as she walked to the memory of her sister. No, she could sense it in the magic air, Ahtohallan wasn’t punishing her in any way. They never had this kind of feeling toward each other anyway, they always share respect and sharing in the sort of relationship they had. Then why share this? Now? The same questions bumped in Elsa’s head again and again, and she had finally reached Anna’s level.
Elsa didn’t rub the tears falling on her face and could feel them dig her cheeks, like furrows in dry earth. As she bent her head to see Anna’s expression while the bishop kept talking and the crowd remained silent, she was surprised to see that her sisters wasn’t crying. But by the way her eyes clenched shut, and her pout, she knew that she was close too; she knew that expression very well.
The blonde never really dared to touch the memory directly; either good or bad. Yet now, she wanted to put her hand on Anna’s shoulder so badly. She looked so small. Looking down, a bit curled on herself like Elsa ironically was now, she seemed like a child. A child who suddenly got forced into adulthood, and new tears rolled on Elsa’s face as she let out a sob at this realization.
She was about to bring her hand on her shoulder, when suddenly Anna moved, and looked to her right. Elsa was so focused on her that she didn’t pay attention to the fact that the bishop had ended his speech, and the crowd and soldiers were departing. The elder thought for a moment that her sister was looking at the headstone on her right, but it seemed like she was looking at the space between her and the stone. Elsa frowned in confusion, and noticed only then that Anna actually wasn’t exactly in the middle. She had left a place... Some space... For her sister.
“I’m sorry she didn’t come”, suddenly muttered Anna to the stones, her voice barely a whisper. She either didn’t want to be heard, or was too sad to be stronger. “I’m sorry.”
Elsa gulped at the way her soft, young voice echoed in the room, like a crystal.
“No, I’m sorry...” Elsa said, her mouth trembling as she cried again. “You shouldn’t have waited for me... Oh, Anna...”
She reached with her hand to touch the white memory, but the princess briskly moved, joining the crowd after a sniff. Elsa’s knees buckled, and she fell to the ice ground, tears going down her face. She looked at the memory of Anna walk away in sorrow, helpless.
=======
Anna slowly woke up with a confused frown and a moan. Why was her face feeling wet? She blinked weakly, still a bit tired, and rubbed her face to take off the water on it. At the feeling of it, she understood it wasn’t water; it felt sticky, tacky. Those were tears.
Confused, Anna looked up, and suddenly jolted at the sight.
“Elsa??”
The blonde jumped in surprise, as she didn’t see that Anna had woken up. She urged to erase the tears on her face, rolling under her chin and accidentally falling on Anna, and sniffed as she rubbed her eyes.
“Elsa, what is it?”
“H-hey... It’s nothing”, said the elder in a reassuring voice.
Anna blinked, sitting up. She was fully awaken now. And faced her sister. “No, it’s not nothing. You just cried. A lot. What is it?”
Elsa looked elsewhere, hoping she wouldn’t ask.
“Did you have a nightmare? Was it a vision?”
Damn. She did.
Anna had gained a lot of wisdom through the last months; she knew exactly what would upset Elsa, and in which way. Here, she could tell that Elsa wasn’t crying because of something she reminded herself; whatever made her cry had been submitted to her.
“What was it?” Insisted Anna, having no answer from her elder.
Elsa bit her lip as she looked around in the bedroom to avoid her gaze. Anna misinterpreted when she saw that Elsa’s eyes looked at Kristoff.
“Do you want us to go to another room to talk about it?” Whispered the younger. “It’s okay if you don’t want Kristoff to hear. I understand.” Added Anna, already going off the sheets.
Elsa grabbed her arm to stop her. The redhead noticed that she was slightly trembling. Whatever she had seen had shocked her. “No, stay. That’s not it... I just...”
There was a silence.
“You just don’t want to look at me in the eyes”, noticed Anna. She sounded offended, but however was comprehensive.
It took a while, then Elsa finally consented to look at her sister. Anna’s teal blue eyes were so big and filled with support that she could burst into tears right then. The hand she had on her arm tightened more. Surprised, Anna put her fingers on it.
“Please talk to me. What was it?”
Elsa gulped. “I don’t know how to explain it.”
Anna bent her head with a smile. “Take your time.”
She looked completely awake now, and Elsa wondered if she had slept enough. The blonde turned to the clock of the room.
“Have you even slept? What time is it? I don’t want you to--”
“I’m fine, you little dummy. Look at me.” Insisted Anna, pulling Elsa’s shoulder back to her so she would face her again. “Go on.”
Elsa breathed in, and out, calmly. “It’s Ahtohallan. I don’t know why, but it showed me a memory... It was one of yours.”
Anna stared at her with some confusion. "Isn’t that... Normal?”
"It is. But I rarely get visions of...”
The elder clenched the hand she had on the sheets. “Anna, I saw the funeral ceremony of Mother and Father. The one you...”
Elsa bit her lip, and suddenly talked fast, like she had just dropped a bag of feelings that instantly spilled. “...attended alone. And where you forced yourself to not cry, because you wanted to act like an example, a good example, and you didn’t want the crowd to see you as weak, but as a strong leader. And you were alone to give them this impression. Because I wasn’t there. And I know the pain that it caused you, and I could see the way you had waited for me, and how it hurt you, and...”
“Elsa, Elsa, Elsa... Calm down...” Interrupted Anna.
In her rambling, Elsa had stopped whispering, and was now breathing heavily in an anxiety attack.
“But you... You...” Gasped Elsa, breathless.
“It’s in the past. All of it is in the past.” Assured her sister. “I’m good. Here, look.”
She approached her, still kneeling on the sheets as Elsa was sit against the bed frame, and hugged her warmly. “We’re together now. Always. And forever. Okay?”
She could feel Elsa breathing calm down little by little, and her arms trembled as she hugged her back. After a while, she seemed to be lulled in her younger’s embrace, and passed a hand in Anna’s hair, which she had untied before going to bed. “Th-thank you.” She gasped.
“You’re very welcome”, smiled Anna.
They parted the hug, and Elsa had a frown. “Why did Ahtohallan show me this memory? What the hell?”
Anna giggled at her expression. She shrugged. “I don’t know. You more than anyone knows how it works. If that’s even a ‘it’.”
She bent her head. “Are you sure you haven’t been... Hallucinating? I mean, not in the hallucination way. I meant that positively. I mean... Are you certain that you weren’t daydreaming? Or just dreaming?”
Elsa shook her head. She was confused, but one thing was for sure: it had been real. “No, I genuinely connected to Ahtohallan. It can’t be my imagination. It felt like I was genuinely there. But as I didn’t attend the ceremony, it can’t be, right?”
Anna winced. “Yeah.”
She didn’t seem convinced, so Elsa tried to remember a significative detail. “Let me think of something... The bishop. He was on your right.”
Anna’s eyes widened. She remembered every detail of this terrible moment of her life, so her jaw dropped. Elsa noticed her reaction.
“How could I know that if weren’t there??”
The redhead was speechless, which was rare and said a lot on her astonishment. “Okay, now I believe you.” She admitted after a few seconds.
There was a long silence, awkward and emotional, only punctuated by Kristoff’s sleep breathing.
“I need to go to the bathroom.” Murmured Elsa.
Anna got pushed aside by her elder as she went down of the bed.
“No, wait, Elsa. We can talk about it.”
The blonde didn’t reply, and simply walked to the door.
“Elsa, look at me, please!”
She turned around, confused. “What?”
Her blinking and face were so cute that Anna realized that Elsa genuinely wanted to go to the bathroom. “Oh. You were serious. I thought...”
Elsa snorted, and stepped out. “We’ll talk about it again at lunch. Sleep, for now, okay?”
Anna nodded, and laid down on the sheets with a smile. Her collar was still fresh from Elsa’s cold tears that had dropped on it.
=======
“And what’s the great news you wanted to tell Anna about the Forest?” Asked Olaf as he grabbed some raisin grapes from a plate to give them to Kristoff.
He accidentally stuck his wooden fingers to a grape, and shook it nervously. It detached from his arm, and Kristoff helped him plant it in his body again with an amused eye roll.
“Oh, yes! You said you wanted to tell me something.” Smiled Anna with a beaming face.
She was delighted that he changed the subject. It had been an hour now that they hadn’t stop talking about the odd Ahtohallan memory submission, and she wanted to move on.
Elsa put her piece of cake to her mouth, pointing at him with her spoon. “Right! So...”
“Is it about Honeymaren?” Asked Olaf, interrupting.
Elsa suddenly coughed, almost choking. Anna and Kristoff turned to her with astonished looks, and Olaf smiled widely.
“So it is about Honeymaren.”
The blonde knocked her fist against her chest, trying to dislodge the piece of cake that got struck in her throat.
Anna passed a hand in her back, worried and amused. “Are you okay?”
Elsa nodded vividly, eventually swallowing correctly, and gave a dark gaze to Olaf.
“What?” Shivered the snowman, understanding he did something wrong but not understanding why.
Kristoff smiled as he took a sip of his glass. “So, what is it?”
Elsa wiped her mouth and cleared her throat. “We made some changes in the Northuldra village. We redesigned the main place with the tents, and made it bigger due to the new needs...”
She put her napkin down, and lifted both her hands, waving her arms around. Anna lifted her eyes and her smile widened as a three dimensional scale model made out of ice appeared in the air above the table with a magic glow. Kristoff let out an appreciative whistle, while Olaf gasped a “Waoh!!” that was way less discreet, and he bounced with happiness on the pile of books on which he was sitting to be at the level of the table.
He almost fell off the pile, and Anna caught him right in time. She was now used to him falling over the pile of books, especially when he decided to read one of them in the middle of meals to give Kristoff and her some random trivia facts.
“I added an access to the river with some ice stairs on the West... For the elders among the villagers.” Indicated Elsa as she pointed at a part of the relief map. She lifted her index finger, and a tiny stair case appeared, joining a field to a flow of snowflakes that glowed in a line, symbolizing the river.
Anna’s eyes sparkled at the vision of the wonderful details that displayed above her head, and when Elsa showed another addition that the other spirits and her made to the village, she saw the admiration in her younger sister’s eyes, and had an emotional smile about it. She felt like she was 8 years old again, making it snow indoors in the great hall for her 5 years old sister. Anna let out a giggle as Elsa illustrated some Giants walking around the valley with her ice magic.
The map was getting so gigantic now - and Elsa pretty much represented the whole forest there, Kristoff was amazed by how flawless and intricate Elsa’s ice could get - that it hovered the whole room. It was clear blue, and filtered the light in a beautiful way; the food on the table now appeared like they were underwater, covered by the floating model. Elsa kept going on her explanations, as her family remained silenced, too attentive and jaw-dropping to say anything, until she finished enumerating all her additions to the Sami village.
“And that’s it. I guess. I’ll send you my drawings in my next letter if I forgot something and only notice it when I go back.”
Anna smiled and nodded, finally lowering her head. Her neck hurt a bit from spending so much time staring at the ceiling, and the fight of the day before.
“You know, I’ve said it a hundred times and I’m gonna say it again: you could be the best architect in the world.”
“Thank you”, replied Elsa, who indeed said that for a hundred times as well.
Anna suddenly gasped when the blonde made the specific move of the hands that Anna knew was going to erase everything.
“NO, WAIT!!”
“What?” Panicked Elsa, stopping in her move, and everybody stared at her.
Anna realized how dramatic she had been, and laughed nervously. “I just... Can you leave it here? Please? It’s... It’s very pretty.”
Elsa blinked. “But it’s taking most of the place.”
Kristoff shrugged. “It’s at more than 3 meters from the floor, we’re good.”
The fifth spirit was still confused. “But it’s filtering the light! You won’t see much...”
“I like it.” Giggled Olaf, looking around, appreciating how everything seemed blue now.
Elsa looked at them all, genuinely lost. “It’s very unpractical...”
“But it’s beautiful.” Said Anna, passing a hand in her elder’s back. “Can you leave it for a few days? You’ll just have to think about it to vanish it, right?”
“Yes, but...”
The redhead bent her head. “Don’t tell me that the Northuldra never compliment your work and creations, Elsa.”
“Of course they do. It’s just that...” Blabbered the blonde, and she understood what Anna meant by her words. “...When it’s of no use anymore, I just make it disappear. That’s all.”
“Well I think this model should stay. It’s a nice deco.” Smiled Anna as she threw a berry in her mouth.
Elsa smiled warmly. “Okay.”
A hour passed, and Gerda suggested that the sisters took some coffee in one of the living rooms while Kristoff and Olaf left for the stables. Gerda was delighted to see Elsa as well, and made sure that she had the most comfy cushions when she sat down on the couch.
“Thanks, Gerda.” Chuckled the blonde.
“You’re welcome, Your Highness”, chimed the servant, before exiting the room.
Elsa lifted her eyebrows. “What did she call me?”
“‘Your Highness’, I think.” Laughed Anna. “Why? You seem surprised.”
“But I’m not Queen anymore.”
“You’re still a Princess.” Noted Anna.
“Only technically... And... I don’t know, I’m not sure I deserve to have royal titles anymore.”
“She probably said that more in a habit than anything else. And you have no idea how many dignitaries still call you Queen. And many address you as Princess Elsa. I don’t mind. And it’s way less weird than if she called you ‘Your Spirit’.” Joked Anna.
The elder nudged her. Anna laughed again. She had missed those little gestures. Her smile disappeared as she remembered that Elsa only was passing by.
“When do you need to go back? You probably have urgent stuff to do...”
Elsa shook her head.
“Don’t be ridiculous. The others can keep an eye on the forest for now. I can stay for coffee. And more than the whole afternoon. I won’t be leaving until your eye get better.”
Anna smiled fondly as a thank you, and Elsa smiled back on the couch.
“On that note, could you... Uh... Make that ice bag again?”
“Sure.”
The Fifth Spirit twirled her hands, and in a few blue swooshes, a new and fresh ice pouch appeared in her palms. She stood up to put it in Anna’s hand, and helped her apply it. “Go slowly, I made it really cold so it can stay for hours.”
“Great”, said Anna, and she focused on applying it.
She then looked at Elsa with her able eye while she sat back down. “Soooo... Are we going to talk about her?”
Elsa frowned in confusion. “Who?”
“If what you wanted to tell us wasn’t linked to Honeymaren, then why did you nearly choke on cake when Olaf said her name? You got all aroused.”
“I wasn’t aroused!” Exclaimed Elsa, clearly blushing.
Anna chuckled. “Well, if you weren’t aroused, you are now...”
“Stop it. I’m not.”
“Oh yeah? Weird, because your ice bag strangely just got colder. And if that sign weren’t enough, there also are snowflakes floating above your head.”
Elsa’s eyes widened. She lifted her head quickly, but noticed there was nothing in the air. Anna burst out of laughter.
“You just CHECKED!!”
The elder gave her a murder look. “It’s not nice from a Queen to lie.”
“You’re the one who fell for the trick.” Cackled Anna.
“This is just mean. You know that it’s one of my biggest fears than to loose control again.”
“That will never happen, you and I both know that.” Smiled the redhead reassuringly. “You’re in full control now.”
Elsa agreed, but she still send her sister a big frown anyway. Anna stood up and sat next to the blonde on the couch. She checked the open door to make sure nobody was entering, and bent to her sister.
“Come on, tell me. What is going on with Honeymaren?”

survey by starsareonly2nd
Have you ever been to Las Vegas? Nope. I’d like to go sometime, though. I’m not into the casino scene, but they have fun shows and other stuff to do there.
What did you have for breakfast this morning? I didn’t have anything. I’m about to have dinner soon, which is the first thing I’ll eat today.
Do you have any loose change in your pocket? I don’t have any pockets right now, but I never use pockets anyway.
Do you like Taylor Swift? Not a fan, personally.
What's your favorite Disney Channel movie? I have several from my childhood and teenage years.
If you met your favorite celebrity, would you be calm or star struck? I’d be starstruck in a calm way; like I’d most likely be too shocked to get more than a few words out. I’m sure I’d come off as shy or boring haha, which is why I’ve refused to meet or interact with my favorite celebrities even if I’ve already had the chance to. <<< Aw, omg I’d be the same way. I’d be freaking out internally for sure. I wouldn’t know what to do or say. My awkwardness would definitely shine through.
Are there any lights on in the room you're in? Yeah.
What's your favorite subject in school? Mine was always English. And obviously psych in college.
What's your favorite holiday? Christmas and Halloween. Do you ever have to do yard work? I don’t do the yardwork.
Is your school close to your house? The schools I attended are all local and pretty close by.
Speaking of school, how did you get there today? I’m done with school.
Do you think Bad Romance is a catchy song, or an annoying one? I like it.
Do you use perfect grammar online? Yes. I’m one who texts that way, too.
Are you currently using a laptop? Yep.
Do you have any live versions of songs in your music software? Nope.
Did/do you listen to Britney Spears songs? Yeah.
Is it a windy day? It was a little windy today.
In the past week, have you ridden in a taxi? No. I haven’t taken a taxi in several years.
What shorthand do you use the most? “lol”, “wtf”, “wth”, “omg.”
Do you ever wish on stars at night? Nope.
What color are your eyes? Brown.
What album is the current song you're listening to off of? I’m not listening to music, I’m watching Eli Roth’s History of Horror on AMC. I love this show, each episode discusses different aspects and themes of horror movies through interviews with actors, directors, etc of horror films and show clips from the movies talked about. Tonight’s episode is about body horror and the movies they’re discussing are pretty disturbing :O Like, Hellraiser... wtf is that??! I’ve never seen that movie, but yikes. Or this Japanese movie, Audition...
What are you doing after you finish this? I’m about to have dinner. And after watching that show ^^^, I’ll watch this other show called Cursed Films. That’s an interesting one, too. As the title suggests, it discusses films that have been said to be cursed. Like, if you’d heard about the Poltergeist curse. Last week they did The Crow and what happened to Brandon Lee is so sad. Tonight they’re discussing Twilight Zone: The Movie.
In your opinion, what song is the most overplayed right now? I don’t listen to the radio, haven’t for a few years now, so I don’t know.
Are you in a band? Uh, no. I can’t sing or play an instrument.
How clean is your bedroom? It needs a little tidying up.
Is there a pen within reaching distance of you? Yeah.
Are you sitting at a desk? No, I’m sitting on my bed.
Does your favorite band have a male or female lead singer? One of my favorite bands, Linkin Park, had a male lead singer. RIP Chester Bennington. :(

Do you watch So You Think You Can Dance? No.
What's your favorite movie soundtrack? Hmm. I don’t know.
Do you prefer group or individual work? I much preferred doing my own work. Group projects added more stress for me. Although, I did like group presentations better than doing one by myself. Being up there with other people to back each other up and not having the focus solely on me helped a bit.
Do you have a key to anything besides your house? Just my car.
Are you wearing anything with stripes? No.
What time did you go to sleep last night? I kept falling asleep off and on, but I didn’t fall asleep for good until after 9AM. :/ I ended up sleeping until 5PM.

If you could run a red light and not get caught, would you? Um, absolutely not. Getting caught is the least of it when you run the risk of possibly KILLING someone or yourself or getting badly injured. Doing stuff like that is how accidents happen. Don’t do it.

Did you think Adam Lambert's AMA performance was really that controversial? I don’t recall that performance.
Do any bands flat-out annoy you? Not currently.

Do you still make Christmas lists? Yes, my family and I make one for each other.
Do you watch the show Dexter? No.
What's the background on your phone? The lock screen is a pretty picture with a Bible verse and my home screen is Halloween themed. I’ve been switching the theme each week this month with different Halloween themes. I love the new update that allows you to add widgets to the home screen and you can change the background.
When were/will you be a a sophomore in high school? I was a sophomore in 2005.
Are you scared of any animals? I mean, I wouldn’t want to encounter any lions, tigers, or bears. ha. But I’m not afraid to see them at the zoo or in a photo or something, but killer whales? Nopeeeee. Not even a photo or on TV.

Paring: Calum Hood x Reader
Warnings: Cheating, smoking, alcohol, break up, swearing, self doubt  mentions of sex? shity writing, attempted angst
Word count: 3k?????
A/N: This is the longest fick I’ve ever written and idk how I feel about that! But I am kinda proud of this so let me know what you think!
Also, I was planning on posting this on my birthday which is on Tuesday so you got this a couple of days in advance:D
She brought the cigarette up to her lips wondering how she ended up here. She usually never went to bars or parties but tonight seemed to be appropriate to drink yourself into oblivion.
When she first met Calum she was on cloud nine but then everything changed once she saw him she cheating on her in her own bedroom.
She had been seeing Calum for almost 6 months when it happened.
She was on her way home from work after 12 hour shift. Everything that day had gone surprisingly good, but as soon as she started to approach her apartment complex she started to get a weird feeling in her stomach. Right as she put the key in the lock and turned it something that feeling in her stomach turned into small stabbing pains.
When she stepped into the apartment everything was quiet, the lights were off even though it was nearly 10 PM on a Thursday night. She went up to her bedroom because she just wanted to go to bed immediately, she had to work the early shift the next morning.
As she got closer to her bedroom she could hear quiet female moans. She thought she was imagining it since she lived alone and the only person who had a key to her apartment was Calum. She had given him a key in case of emergencies.
When she opened her bedroom she saw tell him on top of a girl and they were making out in her bed. She didn’t say anything she just stayed frozen in the doorway, not knowing whether she should scream, cry or throw something at the pair.
So she did the only thing that her body allowed her to do. She dropped the bag she was holding which made the pair break apart, she could see how something changed in his eyes, the went from lust, to fear.
She turned in the doorway, made a beeline for the living room where she had placed her phone and keys just moments before, she then walked right out of the apartment, got into her car and drove off in the middle of the night.
That’s how she ended up in a bar, smoking her boyfriends cigarettes at 11PM on a Thursday night. She had two people come up to her that night, the first was the bartender who asked what she wanted to drink or if she was fine,
“Give me the strongest you have” She said “Because tonight I’m drinking myself into a oblivion.” She mumbled once the guy turned his back to her. The bartender turned back around and poured her a drink. She didn’t remember putting the glass to her lips or anything after that. But somehow she remembered the second person that came up to her that night. It was a woman, a few years older than herself.
“Are you okay?” She asked as she looked Y/N up and down. “Do you want me to call you a taxi?”
“I’m fine.” She mumbled as she stood up, she remember nearly falling over the woman but regaining her balance just in time.
She started to make her way out from the pub. She tried to figure out which way to go but it didn’t go as good as she had hoped. She didn’t remember picking up her phone, calling someone nor does she remember being picked up and falling asleep in someone else’s bed that night.
The next morning she woke up in all-too-familiar sheets and in an all-too-familiar room. She sat up too quickly which made her see stars, she closed her eyes and tried to focus. She was still dressed in the same clothes as she had on last night, she stood up from the bed. She went over to the door so she could pick up her shoes which were neatly placed beside a pair of black vans. Y/N carefully opened the door and as soon as she did she bumped into the person she least wanted to see, Calum.
“I’m sorry.” He said “I didn’t mean for this to happen, I was drunk.”
“That’s always the excuse.” she mumbled “You where drunk, someone else was drunk.” Tears started to roll down her cheeks as she looked at Calum.
“But the truth is, it’s never anyone's fault.” Calum looked down at the wooden floor, he didn’t know what to say or how to act. He knew he fucked up big time and there was no second chances.
“I’m sorry honey.” He said “I truly am, this wasn’t supposed to happen.”
“Will you just shut up already Calum.” She ran her fingers through her hair. “You’re the one who ruined this relationship and it’s always gonna be your fault no matter how much you try to fix it.” She said, she was angry. She couldn’t understand how someone who’s been cheated on could do that to another person.
“Are you ok?” He suddenly asked, he had looked Y/N up and down. Her eyes were red and puffy, her clothes had become a mess after she had slept in them and her hair was no longer in a bun on her head.
“What kind of question is that?” She hissed at him
“Do I look okay?” She motioned pointed at her red eyes. “Can you just fuck off?” She spat.
She started to walk towards the door and as she passed though the living room she was met with three familiar faces, Ashton, Luke and Michael. As soon as she saw them she froze. She could tell that they were there so they could try and convince her to forgive their best friend, except she couldn’t forgive him for cheating. Before they started to date they had been good friends and she had nearly giving her cheating ex a second chance but Calum had been the one that told her not to. He told her that people don’t change, no matter how much you want them too, so she didn’t see a reason to give him a second chance because after all, people don’t change, right?
It had been exactly one week and four days since she found her boyfriend cheating on her. Right now it was a 2:45AM and she was sitting out on her balcony, looking out over Los Angeles. She hadn’t slept in her bed yet, she couldn’t bring herself to remove the sheets or even touched the bed. Y/N had been sleeping on her couch, she had also moved most of her things to her guestroom, sure it was smaller than her room but she felt sick whenever she was in the room.
At first time moved so slow, she counted every tear that fell and she could feel herself slipping away. Then time moved so fast, she had gone to sit on her balcony at 10pm. She had gotten herself some food and was listening to some music, but before she knew it, it was 6AM and the sun was starting to rise.
She had been calling in sick to work for the past week because she couldn’t sleep at night. Y/N worked at a small bookstore in the middle of LA, she had never missed a day at work so after a week she had forced herself to go to work.
At around 9AM she arrived the the store, she unlocked the door and walked inside.
Her first day had been such a good day, there had been people coming in and buying book and talking to her as if they had know each other for forever. Once her lunch break came around she told her boss that she was going to run across the street to buy some lunch.
“Do you want anything?” She asked her boss, Kristine.
“I’m good.” She smiled as she helped the next customer.
As she opened the door to the cafe she saw a familiar head of beautiful curls, but she pretended that she hadn’t. The cashier took her order and she then waited for her food to be prepared. When the cashier called out her name Calum looked up from his phone, she could feel his eyes on her back as she walked out of the shop. She was just about to dig into her food when a colleague came into the breakroom.
“There’s a guys out front asking for you.” She seemed confused “He doesn't want our help.” The woman walked out of the breakroom and as she did Y/N let out a frustrated sigh. When she came into the store she locked eyes with the person she hadn’t seen for almost two weeks and she could feel the tears form in her eyes.
“What do you want?” She asked
“I wanted to see how your were doing?” He said as if he hadn’t done anything wrong. “How do you think I’m doing?” she asked frustrated
“I haven’t been able to sleep in my own room for two weeks and you think I’m doing fine?” “I don’t think you’re doing fine.” He said casually “I know I’m not.” Y/N looked at him. “Calum you were the one who told me that I shouldn’t give people second chances because people never change.”
“Well you shouldn’t always listen to me.” He said “Because if you hadn’t noticed, I can be quite stupid.”
“What are you trying to achieve here Calum?” She asked “Because I am not going to forgive you and I’m not going to get back together with you.” He ran a hand though his curly hair and sighed
“I was just hoping we could at least be friends.” She looked at him like he punched a puppy, he cleared his throat. “Because we were friends before we even dated, don’t forget that.” He said.
“I don’t want to see you Calum.” She said deflated. “You broke my heart, I wish I could avoid seeing you but your face is everywhere!” She felt like yelling but she couldn’t.
“If I invited you to a party.” He said “Would you show up?” He asked.
She didn’t try to talk to him anymore because this conversation wasn’t going anywhere, she just shrugged her shoulders and went back into the breakroom. Her appetite had almost disappeared but she forced herself to eat the food so she would have the strength to work for another 6 hours.
The following Friday she got a text message that read ‘Party at Ashton‘s place at 9 PM.’ She threw her phone onto the sofa and she laid her head down and suddenly there were tears rolling down her cheeks.
She didn’t plan to go to party at first but then she remembered that there would probably be free alcohol there, so she figured that getting drunk wouldn't hurt. Once she reached the house she could see that the hour was filled with people and she knew none of them. If she had been with Calum he would know everyone. She walked into the house and bumped right into Ashton, who clearly was the only sober person in the house. He want to hug her but she took a step back and shook her head, his smile dropped and he stepped to the side so she could walk past him.
She walked into the kitchen, took a beer and sat on the kitchen counter. After three hours of small talking with different drunk people two people stumbled into the kitchen, giggling at each other and talking among themselves. It was Calum and the girl from that night, his arm fell from the girls shoulder and the girl whined in protest. She hopped off the counter and as she was leaving the kitchen she purposely bumped into Calum and she walked right out of the door.
During the next week he tried to call, her text her and he even went to the bookstore again but this time she had no intention in talking to him so she told her boss that he had to leave or she would, that night she cried for 3 hours. She felt like giving up but that wasn’t her, she wasn’t going to give up because she was cheated on for the second time in the course of eight months. She didn’t know what to do, most of her friends had been friends with Calum so she couldn’t talk to them about it because it felt like hanging out Calum.
Nearly a month after being cheated on she was feeling better, she didn’t cry as often and she had just recently changed the bedsheets in her bed and moved back into her room. She had blocked Calum almost everywhere and apparently he was now dating the girl that Y/N had seen in her bed and at the party, her name was Agnes. After a while of stalking her instagram Y/N could see why he would chose Anges over her, she was so much prettier. Y/N found herself falling back into the same routines day after day, she didn’t really know what to do so one day she just decided that she should take an opportunity that had fallen into her lap a few days before she broke up with Calum. She had been asked if she wanted to write a book, it didn’t matter what kind but Y/N knew just what she wanted to write. She was going to write something that would help her heal and feel better.
Another week passed by and she had now quit her job at the bookstore and Calum had announced to the world that he was dating Agnes. He never told the world about Y/N, and they had been seeing each other for 6 months.
It was friday night and she was packing her clothes, since most of her friends stopped talking to her once Calum announced her relationship she was left to her own devices. She was listening to music and drinking some wine when the doorbell rang, it was nearly 9PM so she stood up from her sofa and when to open the door. When she opened the door she came face to face with none other than Calum Hood.
“Hi?” She said, Calum looked up at her in surprise, clearly shocked that she opened the door. He opened his mouth but closed it again, not not knowing what to say.
“Uh, hi.” He said, he then proceeded to ask if he could come in, Y/N didn’t say anything, she just stepped to the side and let him walk into her small messy apartment for the first time in nearly two months.
“Going somewhere?” He asked, she looked down at her feet and said,
“Uh, yeah I am.” She cleared her throat. “Well, technically I’m moving.”
“Oh.” He seemed surprised by her answers.”Can I ask where?” He asked
“To New York City.” She said, Calum’s head snapped back at the woman, he had known this girl for so long and she wasn’t the type that would just up and leave in the dead of night. Especially when she had a stable job and family in LA.
“Why are you moving?” He asked. “I thought you liked it here?”
“Well I don’t really have anything that’s keeping me here so I figured why not.” She grabbed her glass of wine and took a sip. “And since my publisher is located in New York I thought it would be best if I move there.” She smiled.
“Wait what? What publisher?” He said.
“I was going to tell you.” She said. “But then I found you in my bed.” She almost mumbled the last part but Calum was used to her mumbling so he heard her anyway.
“Oh.” Was all he managed to say, it almost sounded like had forgotten about that part. “So you would just have dropped everything and moved to New York?”
“Well if we would have stayed together I would have stayed her and just fly out to New York now and then.” Calum opened his mouth and Y/N could see that he wanted to argue back.
I think you should leave now Calum.” She said, he had been in her apartment for nearly an hour and she still had so much to do.
“Well I don’t want to leave.” He said “I want to know why you been ignoring me for a month and a half.”
“Why do you think I’ve been ignoring you?” She asked.
“HOW SHOULD I KNOW? YOU BLOCKED MY NUMBER Y/N!” He was now yelling at her and she was not having it!
“I don’t want to talk to you anymore Calum, can you please just leave?” She could feel the anger crawling up her back and she didn’t want to scream at him and she didn’t know what to say or do.
“NO, I will not leave until you fucking explain!” She could feel tears forming in her eyes. “Please just leave.” She said deflated, she walked up to Calum, she put a finger to his chest and said
“If you don’t leave my apartment now Calum, I will call the guard because I don’t want you here.” He could see the tears that now where rolling down her cheeks and he didn’t know why she was so upset.
During their dating period they hadn’t said I love you and since Calum had lost all his faith in love.
“It’s not like we loved each other.” He spat at her as he looked down at her.
“What do you mean?” She said as her voice broke, she had been in love with him since the start.
“Yeah, we didn’t love each other.” He said. “We never once said, I love you.”
“Well I loved you Calum, I loved you with my whole heart and you broke that into a million pieces.” She said, more tears were streaming down her face and she didn’t know what to do.
“If you ask me out relationship was doomed from the beginning.” He said, not affected by her tears.
“Fuck you Calum.” As she said this she pushed him towards the door, without saying anything he walked out the door, slamming it behind him. She fell into the door and slid down to the ground, when her knees met the ground sobs took over her body. She finally let her emotions free and after god knows how long she let herself fall into an empty darkness.

Knock, Knock. Part 16.
Tumblr media
Chapter Summary: Let the Christmas party commence.
Pairing: (single) Jensen x Reader
Warnings: Cussing, Drunk Reader.
Word Count: 4297
Part 16:
You woke up late the next morning in Cole’s apartment. After last night's ‘festivities’, if you know what I mean, you forgot to set an alarm. You were usually an early morning person anyway so it didn’t matter.
Around 9 am, you rolled over seeing the time.
“Shit!” you mumbled louder than you meant to.
You rolled out of bed hurrying to grab the clothes that had been tossed last night after a few of glasses of wine that you shared with your boyfriend.
In your hurry to get dressed, you made more noise than you meant, and you saw a tired Cole on the bed shift in his sleep and stretch before bringing both arms behind his head as he watched you put on your clothes.
“Oh, so you’re just going to up and run out on me?” he said jokingly with a sexy morning voice.
You laughed out of your nose as you balanced on one leg trying to get the other through the hole of your jeans.
“Unfortunately, yeah…” you walked over to him while zipping up your pants. “But we can do this again tonight after the party… If your up to it of course.” You said devilishly as you gave him a small teasing peck on the lips.
He hummed as he pulled an arm out from behind him and used it to wrap around your waist and pull you next to him, then under him.
You screamed and giggled at the same time placing a hand on his chest as he hovered over you.
“I would love that, but…” his face shifted to thought.
“But what?” you asked with a cock of your head.
“But, wouldn’t it be weird with Jensen there? I mean here, it’s just us. No room mate, or anyone to barge in on us. Plus, Jensen and you are close. Wouldn’t that make things weird for you guys?” he asked looking down at you.
You traced a finger on his chest as he spoke and looked back in his eyes when you thought it over.
“Sure, we’ve never done anything at my place really, but-“ you thought about all the women that Jensen had brought over with no problem, and pushed the hesitance of it all to the back of your mind. “Jensen’s has had his fair share of women over there, and didn’t seem to care what I thought about it. Why should I not be able to have my boyfriend over if I want? I pay rent don’t I?” you said with a smirk.
“You’re not wrong.” he gave you a soft and playful kiss on the lips before pulling back. “I guess I’m packing an overnight bag then.” He said before picking you up and easily throwing your legs around his waist to where you were in sitting positions straddling him. “Are you sure we can’t… you know?” he winked. “It’s only 9am, and Gen isn’t even going to be there till like 1.” He said.
You threw your head back in laughter.
“Oh, honey.” You got put your hands around his neck and looked him in the eyes. “You really don’t know Gen then. One o’clock in Gen’s time is about 4-5 hours ahead of that. Especially if it comes to party planning.” You said getting up and going to grab your shirt from the chair across the room.
“Well, I don’t like it.”
“You sound like one of my 1st graders when they don’t get what they want.” You laughed. Trying to find the right holes in the shirt for your arms.
“What I want, is to see you standing in front of me with less clothes on. So, yeah… I’ll act like a 1st grader if that’s what it takes.” He said with a pout on his face.
“You’re pathetic.” You finally had your shirt on, and walked over to him. “If you keep pouting, you won’t be getting too lucky tonight.” You said putting your hands on his shoulders and bopping his nose gently.
“Oh, don’t tease me like that.” He said pulling your waist into him.
You gave him a quick kiss before attempting to pull away, but he grabbed your wrist keeping you close.
“I have to go, Cole.” You giggled. “Come on.”
“Fine, but don’t think I’m ok with this.” He said with a look in his eye.
“I’ll see you tonight. If you want to come early, and help decorate or get the food ready you’re more than welcome to.”
You had your back turned as you were going through your purse making sure everything was there. You suddenly felt a firm body against your back. You turned around to see the tall tanned man you were just in bed with looking down at you with his messy chestnut colored bed hair. He had a slight scruff on his face from not shaving for a few days. His hazel eyes were captivating in the morning light, and tempting you to be late for your day just so you can have a few more glorious minutes with this man.
“How do men always looks so stunning in the morning?” you asked putting your hair in a messy bun, and throwing your bag over your shoulder.
“I can ask the same thing about you.” He smirked bending down to kiss you.
“Keep it up, and I’ll get nothing done with my day.” You said quietly as you slightly pushed his chest away after the kiss.
“That’s the goal.” He said going in for another one.
“Cole…” you put a finger to his lips. “Save it for tonight.” You said quickly squirming out of his grasp before he could stop you any longer. “Dress warm, we are having a bonfire outside!” you shouted just as you slipped out the bedroom door.
You could hear his grunting from the front door as he struggled to catch up with you.
“See you later sweetheart!” You shouted right before leaving and escaping shutting the door behind you and running down the stairs.
___
You were able to get an Uber, since Cole drove you last night, and make it to the house around 10ish.
You rushed into the house and started to head for the stairs to hurry and get dressed for the preparations for today before Gen got there. You were stopped by Jensen who was sitting in the breakfast nook on the far side of the kitchen.
“You’re coming in later than I thought you would.” He said right before taking a sip of coffee.
You jumped from the sudden sound, and not seeing him from before.
“Oh God! Jensen! Where the hell did you come from?” you said clutching your chest.
“I literally have been sitting here this whole time.” He laughed. “Well, at least the past 30 seconds you’ve been in the room.”
You took a couple of breaths before chuckling and looking at him.
“Well, honestly… Had a hard time getting out of bed this morning.” You didn’t have to elaborate for him. He was pretty positive he knew it had something to do with Cole, and it wasn’t something he wanted to think about. “Anyway, also never got around to setting an alarm last night, so I slept in later than I hoped.”
He nodded his head in understanding, before going back to the coffee and paper that was in front of him, not wanting to think about the activities you may have taken apart of last night.
You noticed the shift in energy, but before you could think into it, your phone buzzed in your back pocket. You pulled it out, and read the message.
Gen: Hey girly! I’m about 5 minutes out from your house. Excited to start getting ready!:)
“Shit.” You said looking down at the text.
“What?” Jensen said looking up.
“Uh, Gen is going to be here in like 5 minutes, and I haven’t got dressed or done any of the things that she asked me to get ready before she came.” You said texting back quickly.
“You guys have all day to get stuff done. What’s the rush?” he said oblivious to the craziness that was Gen when it came to parties.
“You don’t get it.” He just looked at you confused. “Gen has an order to things. If they don’t go right… Well, let’s just say Dean Winchester had been to hell, and you’re about to understand exactly what he went through.”
His eyebrows shot up at the reference, and he stood up and walked over to you.
“First off, impressive way to get my butt into gear. Second, how can I help?” he asked standing really close to you.
“You can get all the decorations out of my car.” You smiled. “I planned on pulling them out last night, but didn’t know I would go home with Cole.”
Again, the mention of Cole made him twitch.
“Ok, what else?”
“Well, if she still isn’t here by the time you’re done with that. Go over the food/drink list and make sure there isn’t something we are missing.” You said rushing to the stairwell, him following behind, but stopping mid living room.
“How am I supposed to know what’s should be on there?” he yelled as you ran up the steps.
You stopped and turned.
“If you think of anything to add, do it. If you see something on there that no one will eat, take it off. That’s about it.” You said before turning into the hall to your room.
“Ok! You better hurry up and help me when your done getting ready. I don’t think I’m ready for the wrath of Gen!” he shouted after you.
“Oh, you’re not!” he heard you shout and he tensed at that. “I’ll be down in 2 minutes! Hurry, and get started!” you screamed.
Say nothing else, he was already headed to the trunk of your car.
__
Everything had mapped out well. Gen didn’t notice you being behind on things, and the party preparations went smoothly.
The party started at 7, and you got a text from Cole around 6:45 saying he got pulled into a meeting with a kid they had been struggling with living situation wise, and that he was going to be late.
You were a little disappointed, but as long as he showed up you would be fine.
Jensen saw you looking down at your phone, and notice a subtle sadness as you looked at it.
“Everything ok?” he asked as he pulled some bottles of vodka out of the box that Jared and him had just gone and bought.
“Uh, yeah.” You said quickly looking up and putting a smile on your face, while you put the phone back in your pocket. “Just Cole is going to be late is all.”
“Is everything all right?”
“Hmm? Yeah, just a work thing.” You waved him off. You watched as he started putting the drinks in different spots, and thought this would be the perfect time to ask him about Cole staying over. “Quick question Jensen.”
He turned from where he was, and faced you from the opposite side of the island you were leaning on.
“Hit me.” He said with a big grin.
“Cole, and I were talking, and-“ there was that name again. “he’s was planning on staying the night tonight. Is that ok with you?”
He paused and starting thinking about everything that could happen. Things in your bedroom… with Cole… and you… under his roof…He was lost in thought, and was staring off into space, when you snapped him out of it.
“Jens? Jensen? Hello?” you waved a hand in front of his face.
“Huh? What?” He said shaking his head.
“I asked if Cole can spend the night, and you went into a dream world or something.” You laughed out awkwardly.
“Oh, no-yeah! For sure!” he answered a little louder than intended. “Why are you asking me? This is your house too.” He said turning around and continuing his task from before. “Why would I care?”
“Well, I’m only asking because I care about your space Jens. I don’t want to make your house uncomfortable for you if I can help it.”
“What? Uncomfortable?” he said in a higher pitched voice. “Pshhh! I’m not uncomfortable! You guys are dating. Why would that be uncomfortable for me?”
“Well, for one you’re acting kinda weird right now.”
“What? No I’m not.” He waved you off with a goofy look on his face.
“Jensen, you know I’m a counselor right? It’s my job to pick up on people behaviors and find out when something is off with them.” You said crossing your arms and raising an eyebrow at him.
“Y/N, I’m fine! I’ve had girls here, why can’t you have a boy here?” he said in that weird tone again, and avoiding eye contact.
“You’re sure?”
“Positive! And you know what?” he turned and placed both hands on the counter as he looked you straight in the eyes. “I might have someone over myself.”
You were a little shocked at the sudden news, but reeled yourself back in before he could place the emotion on your face.
“Oh? What girl might that be?” you said following his movement and putting your hands on the island as well.
He paused and looked around before grabbing another bottle, and looking back at you.
“Maggie.”
He turned around and avoided eye contact again. Good for you though, because now he couldn’t see the slight hurt and pain on your face of him being with a girl. As he turned around again, you pushed it away and gave him a fake smile.
“Really? So, I take it things went well last night?” you asked leaning off the counter some to distance yourself from him.
“Yeah, really well actually. She may or may not have stayed the night last night.” He wiggled his eyebrows before turning away again.
Your arms went from the counter to behind your back as a sign of slight pain and jealousy. You were feeling a little insecure now, and were pulling away from Jensen more and more.
“Oh.”
Jensen caught on to the tone in your voice, but didn’t back off.
“Yeah, nice gal. I’m really glad you invited her to this party actually. I can see where I want things to go with her and all.” He said sneaking glances at you here and there, noticing you thinking it all through.
“Oh, well I’m glad I could help.” You said quietly and looking at the floor before looking at him and giving him a weak smile.
“Y/N!” Gen yelled from the other room.
You both looked the direction of the shout, and you turned back to Jensen.
“I guess the party will be getting started pretty soon. I should probably get changed and doing something with my hair.” You said pointing at your head, and keeping up the fake ‘not hurt’ façade.
“Ok, I’ll see you in a little.” He said with a smile.
You started walking out of the kitchen, but turned last minute.
“I’m glad you found someone who may finally be a hit. I think it’s about time that that special someone comes in your life.” You smiled genuinely. “You deserve it Jens.”
He returned the smile, and watched you walk out.
Moments after you left, he mumbled to himself, “Yeah Y/N/N, that special someone….” he said with a small weak smile.
__
You went upstairs and got ready with ease having already picked out your outfit earlier with Gen when you found some spare time in between planning the party.
You decided to straighten your hair considering you have been curling it for the most part recently. If there was one thing you loved, it was changing things up as much as possible. Even if it was the small things.
You wore a big comfy grey sweater that was still nice for the occasion, and french tucked them into your jeans. It was the perfect simple, but dressy outfit for a housewarming party.
You were about an hour into the party, and a majority of the guest were already there. Cole being one of the few still missing.
You hadn’t really talked to Jensen since the awkward conversation in the kitchen, other than for a drink. You couldn’t tell if he was avoiding you, or you were avoiding him. Either way, you were a good amount of drinks in and feeling A LOT more loose than you were earlier.
The doorbell rang, and you shot up from your spot in between Brianna and Misha, and went to answer it. Most guest had just been letting themselves in, but one every now and then one would knock or ring the doorbell having not been there before.
You swung open the door, and were greeted with a smiling Maggie.
“Maggie! Margret! You made it!” you said throwing your arms in the air with a glass in one of your hands. “Come on in!”
“Y/N! How are you doing?” she said leaning down to give you a hug, and kissing your cheek.
“Oh, the cheek kiss, how proper of you?” you said with an awful British accent.
“I’m guessing you’ve had a few drinks already.” She said with a smile, but still had small looks of concern lacing her face.
“Maybe one or two…” you paused. “Ok, five of some really good stuff, but I’m fine.” You slurred. “Mellowed out.”
“I can tell.” She said raising her eyes.
“Here, come on. Let me take you to the party! I promise there’s more than just me.” You winked as you linked arms with her and walked her into the main room.
People were scattered everywhere. Some in the living room. Most in the kitchen where the drinks were being made by Jared and Jensen. The rest in the backyard by the fire.
You walked into the living room where Brianna, Gen, Misha, Kim, Ruth, Felicia, Samantha (Smith), and Oscar had been circled up, and catching up.
“Maggie, this is some of the party!” you said putting your arm out as if you were presenting them.
“Hi! I’m Maggie, Gen’s friend.” She said waving at them and looking over to Gen.
“Maggie, I’m so glad you can come! Y/N/N said she invited you, and I forgot to even mention it. I’m so sorry!” Gen said coming around and stealing her from your arm to give her a hug.
“Don’t worry about it! This didn’t seem like my kinda a party at first being your all actors and all, but I’m glad I could come.” She said smiling at the group.
“Oh honey! Treat us like any old friend. We aren’t any different from the other screwed up humans on this planet.” Kim said waving a hand at her.
“Haha! Good to know!” Maggie laughed.
“Hey!” you shouted a little louder than you meant. “How about we get you a drink, so you can catch up with all of us?” You said wrapping your arm back through hers.
“Y/N, I think she has a little more catching up to do with you than with us.” Felicia snickered.
“Hush Felicia! You’re only a few behind me.” You said walking away before winking back at her.
After you left the room, Brianna turned to Gen.
“Is everything ok with her? She seems to be drinking faster, and more than usual.”
“I think it’s just cause she’s finally on break, and can actually do it without regretting it in the morning for work.” Gen replied.
“As much as I love drunk Y/N, we may need to watch her. She seems to be hitting her peak.” Misha said.
“I’ll keep an eye on her.” Gen smiled.
They continued their conversation from before you introduced Maggie, but Gen hadn’t stopped looking where you had walked into the kitchen. She’s known you long enough to know that something is bugging you. You only get this drunk this fast if you are avoiding something, or have something on your mind.
___
In the kitchen.
“Here ya go Jim.” Jensen said passing a red solo cup to one of the workers from the set.
“Hey, Jensen!” you said in a sing-song voice. “Guess who I found?”
You emerged through the crowd, and brought Maggie up to the counter where Jensen was making drinks.
“Hey, Maggie! Good to see you again.” Jensen said giving her a quick hug.
Jared was next to him talking to someone in between making drinks, and watching the conversation.
“Hey, good to see you too Ackles.” She said. “Y/N here said you make a great drink. Think you can hook me up?” she said in a flirty tone.
You rolled your eyes subtlety, but quickly recovered with a smile. You were pretty sure no one saw you, but Jared was keeping an eye on you, and definitely noticed.
“Jensen, makes a mean screwdriver!” you said causing them both to turn to you. “I personally take mine with extra vodka.” You said putting a hand up like you were telling a secret and winking at her.
“Yeah, we can tell. How many are you at Y/N/N?” Jensen asked snaking an arm around Maggie’s waist.
You looked down at the contact and furrowed your eyebrows, but again brushed it off so no one would see and put on a fake smile.
“I’ve only made you two right?” Jensen added.
“Hmm…You guys are using Sky, and that’s 80 proof. With two- three shots in each drink, it should take about three drinks to get me to a pretty good drunk.” You answered doing the math in your head.
“Good to see you can still do math. I’ve only given you two drinks so how are you so-“
“So laid back right now?” you asked shifting in your spot trying to stand still, but failing. “It may or may not have to do with the fact I’ve been having Jared make me drinks too. I think I’m at about…” you started counting on your hands. “Five, maybe?”
“Five!” Jensen yelled turning around to Jared who was talking to someone watching you guys, but not listening. “Jared!”
“Yeah, five sounds about right…” you said to yourself still holding out your fingers.
“Jared!” Jensen screamed again, walking over to the giant. “Dude, how many drink have you given Y/N?”
“Two or three I think, why?” Jared answered
“Because she’s drunk man. Come look at her.” He said walking over to where he left you and Maggie.
“You have such pretty hair. Also, how are you so tall? Is it from your mom’s side or dad’s? Did you play volleyball or basketball in high school?” you said playing with a piece of Maggie’s hair as she looked down at you with an uncomfortable look on her face.
“Hey Y/N/N, how many drinks have you had tonight?” Jared asked walking over to your side.
“I already told Jensen, five. How is it I can do math, but you can’t?” you sassed.
“How many shots have you put in each glass?” Jensen asked Jared.
“Two, what about you?”
“Two to Three.”
“She’s had five glasses, so 2 times five-“
“10 shots. I’ve had 10ish shots of sky vodka.” You answered with a proud smile. “Fun fact, I can hold my liquor unlike you two dorks think I can.” You slurred.
The two men looked at each other with a knowing look before looking back at you.
“Ok Y/N/N, why don’t you and I go find Gen, and sit down with her?” Jared said putting an arm around your shoulder.
“No! I wanna talk to Maggie. Also, my glass is almost empty. Can I get a refill bartender?” you asked Jensen handing him your cup with a very drunk smile.
“Yeah, I’ll get right on that.” He took the cup from you, and put in on the counter forgetting about it immediately. “How about you go sit with Gen, and I’ll bring it to you?” he said helping Jared usher you to the living room.
“Ok. Why are you both taking me to the couch?” you asked noticing the two giant men extremely close to your side. “Jensen, you need to go talk to your new girlfriend.” You turned and grabbed his face in your hands causing him to make a kissing face toward you. “You two are going to make sure a cute couple.” You said with a soft smile.
He couldn’t help, but laugh at the gesture and the fact you were holding him like you were. He had seen you get drunk before, but this was far worse than last time. As much as he didn’t want to think about it, you were still so freaking cute to him.
“Thanks Y/N/N. I’ll be back with your drink.” He said moving out of your hands and placing a hand on your shoulder. “Try not to fall over walking to the couch, ok?”
“I made it this far didn’t I?” you replied with a sly smile.
“You sure did. Now go sit that cute tush down, so you don’t hurt yourself.” He only said it like that because he knew you wouldn’t remember.
“Awe, I have a cute tush?” you blushed. “Thanks Ackles! Your’s isn’t half bad either.” you smirked as Jared started to guide you back to the living room, turning to give Jensen a look.
“What? She won’t remember. Might as well take what I can get.” He shrugged getting an eye roll from his friend before heading back to the kitchen. “Good to know she thinks I have a cute butt.” He said to himself with a confident smile.

I am a Freelance Marketer.
Too many people ask what I do and I usually give a very simple answer. Many of them who are skeptical might think that I have an easy job, or that I'm just another housewife making ends meet. Well, they are not exactly wrong. I've decided to write about my career choice and a description of this choice in detail because there is so much in this choice that I cannot finish explaining all in a hangout session. Many mothers have asked me how do I do this, and wish they have the same thing going on for them. I suppose, after two years of freelancing, I owe it to many mother-friends and ex-colleagues to tell you what I now do.
In a Nutshell
In a nutshell, I'm a marketing consultant who helps businesses who need my help in any marketing activation. My clients, who are mostly Startups & SMEs, need a jack-of-all-trades expertise who can contribute in many areas within the marketing department.
A lot of people ask why would people hire me instead of hiring a full timer. The answer is simple: I'm cheaper, better and clients don't need to contribute to my EPF (retirement fund) and employment benefits. Cheaper, because I charge based on my invested hours, instead of the potentially hefty cost of keeping me onboard on a full-time basis. Better, simply because at my rates, you won't find a full-timer as experienced, nor will you find another freelancer with my set of skills.
The Work
I wish I am Liam Neeson and tell you I have a unique set of skills, but Neeson I am not. But I do have a set of skills that is rare when all of them combined. I can plan and execute both online & offline marketing activations, from organizing press conferences, running & optimizing Adwords campaigns, designing ecommerce websites, to data crunching. Some simpler yet time consuming tasks include social media management, graphic design, CRM and copywriting.
In other words, I'm a Jack-of-all-trades.
Each of my client has a set of projects, and each project is of a different nature and/or industry. In two years, I have worked on property development, education, F&B, football club, tourism, fashion, job portals and so many I have lost track.
The Structure
Unlike what most people imagine freelancers to be, I maintain the same work hours, sometimes more. Weekdays, 9am to 6pm, I am dedicated to my work the same you would do in an office. Instead of being accountable and responsible to only one immediate superior, I report to multiple clients and manage them to the best of my abilities. I don't have time to take a breather because every minute I'm thinking of a marketing strategy on a macro level, I can be doing something on a micro-level that does not need as much brain power.
I keep myself very productive and every minute is accounted for, with the help of Toggl, a time management app. Of course, being at home with a baby/toddler means that I'll step away from my computer once in a while but that does not take me away from my work. I use every mobile app available to get work done and have long mastered feeding and/or putting my child to sleep while working. (Still an exclusive direct-latch breastfeeding mom! #win)
There is still work stress, just as you would in any type of work. There are still heavy attachments to projects I run, and every mistake on my judgement can have upsetting repercussions, reflected on numbers, be it engagement or pure sales.
The Life
Instead of spending time on the road, waking up early to get preparations done, I wake up a little later, most times just in time to make breakfast and work. While that sounds nice enough, imagine juggling work and a toddler all day. I no longer go to the washroom alone and I'm always explaining myself to someone who may not understand me.
So, while I save time in the road, I'm more tired at the end of the day. I'd imagine that if you've spent a full day at work, you'll feel energised once again to see your child after work, and would like to spend some quality time with him/her. Me? I'm spent at the end of the day, craving for quality bathroom time. Unfortunately, there is really no break until my daughter decides to sleep. If I'm lucky, that's 10pm.
Juggling, takes on a whole new meaning when my body discovers new muscles it never knew it had. I was ambidextrous as a kid, and I've come to pick it up again when managing more than three tasks at once. Breastfeeding, typing out an email and blasting out a post from my phone all at once.
Unlike most home-based employees who never step out, I have regular meetings with clients, both teleconferences and face-to-face meetings. There are deadlines and targets to achieve, and I play a good amount of significant roles in a number of businesses. I cannot be a bottleneck and cannot allow myself to be one even if I have good reasons to, for example my daughter is sick and I haven't slept in two days.
I am also thankful for help from my husband who also works from home (not a freelancer), my mother who sometimes stays with us, and my mother-in-law who is always ready to help. While I am the primary care giver of my child, they have been there to relief me, and they are the very reason of how I've survived this far.
Pros & Cons
The Pros are many, here are the top 3 for me:
- In a short two years, I've come to know more than ever. I am most likely the first to sense a new marketing trend, from better landing page features, colour with the most engagement, to new Google upgrades. I have also accummulated a pretty impressive portfolio (I think!) in just two years based in industry, scope and performance.
- I've never missed a milestone with my child, ie. First words, first step, first dance, etc. I can always choose to drop everything and egg her on!
- I've learned so much in these two years that I've rolled out many of these learnings into different industries and cities - at the same time witnessing how different the outcomes due to language, culture, audience expectations and local competition.
Cons are plenty too! But here are my top 3:
- As a freelancer, I don't usually get to run strategic-level projects or lead the company on a specific direction. I might not see the whole picture the way full timers do, or that I refrain from doing so for a number of office politics reasons.
- Most freelancers like me, are hired to tackle the most difficult and tedious marketing tasks. Unlike when employed as a full-timer in a managerial role, you will have assistants or help to complete the minute items, I am there to do both planning and execution, independently and without help.
- No maternity leave. This is probably what bothers me the most. The loss of income aside while dealing with incoming post-natal depression, I might need to source for new clients if my "original" clients replace me with another during my downtime.
Conclusion
There are still more pros and cons; but I know that I'm in a uniquely blessed position. I am grateful for clients who have decided to stick with me, given that I have a set of rules myself, and grateful that I'm enjoying my daughter's new quirks almost everyday.
I won't say it's easy, heck I'd say it's the hardest thing I have to do so far. But it is so rewarding, in so many ways.
Many ask if I'll ever go back to a full-time role. My answer is 95% No. 5% if Godfather makes me an offer I can't refuse. Lol.
So that's it! That's pretty much all I have to tell. If you want to start some freelancing work, do try out Workana.com, who is also one of my favourite clients who truly appreciate the value of freelancers.
Hope this answers some of your questions (if not, all!). Got a question? Just shoot, and I'll try my best to answer!

Maybe I AM the crazy one here
No.. definitely. I’m definitely the crazy one and it’s exhausting.
Java Bear and I had a long talk about where he was and what had been going on with him all week. He totally validated my feelings and apologized for not reaching out sooner. He continues to reinforce how good he actually is at communication and clearly stated that if there is ever any doubt in my mind of my importance in his life that I should look at my keychain. Giving me a key to the house really IS a big thing.
He also said that if I’m not sure about what’s going on with him or am afraid that he may be shutting down on me that I should always just reach out and let him know what I’m feeling... and if I’m not able to do that, that I can and should talk to Olive about it. The GF/metamour line is a touchy one, but she’s continued to show support for the communication between us about Java Bear.
This weekend was more of that validation of my place in their life and just how much they care about me.
MM had a scare on Friday morning. He was having chest pains bad enough that he had a co-worker take him to the clinic because he was afraid it was a heart attack. They said it wasn’t but because of the symptoms, his health and family history they still sent him to the ER via ambulance. I ended up passing my class to another instructor and drove the hour to be with him. Once they had him in a room I had Cookie come help with getting my car home so I could get MM and his car home after they discharged him.
The fucked up thing was on the way down I found myself wishing I still had Gypsy and Nomad there to help like they did with the last ER run when MM was losing feeling in his legs. That stirred up all kinds of crap for me, but I put on the wife face and just did what needed to be done.
MM kept saying that he felt guilty about possibly ruining my plans to go to Phoenix so after doing dinner with Cookie and driving home I finished packing and left around 9:15pm.
Olive was up painting a wall and Java Bear was out at a birthday thing for his buddy when I got there. She and I got a couple hours to just hang out before he got home and we all eventually went to bed.
The alcohol had Java Bear feeling all kinds of frisky and Olive’s functioning uterus had her in the same place. But her functioning uterus meant that despite the desire being there, we all stopped short of PIV and eventually attempted to sleep.
I say attempted to sleep because not long after finding my underwear Java Bear started to whimper in his sleep and twitch while he was holding me. It wasn’t his usual purr/growl thing but something sad, scared... I said something to Olive and we realized that he was having night terrors. I narrowly missed catching an elbow in the initial flailing before we sandwiched him and held him tight enough that he couldn’t swing his arms around anymore. It was a rough night but better that the first time I saw it was at their place with Olive there to show me how to handle him when it happens.
Java Bear got up around 5am and Olive and I slept until after 9am. Her kiddo was playing video games with Java Bear when I came out. Java Bear and I did a grocery run and then they cooked up a big brunch with pancakes, fresh fruit and eggs. It was just a normal “family” kind of morning.
Eventually we decided that naps needed to happen. Olive wanted to touch up the wall she’d painted so Java Bear and I curled up. There was more sexual tension but Java Bear had told me that they hadn’t christened the new bed and that Olive wasn’t okay with the two of us having sex there first. I TOTALLY understood where she was coming from so we did our best to behave.
We’d had a talk the night before in the throes of sexy time when we both said that we weren’t ready to watch the other with Java Bear. It was different with all of us involved but with her being on her period it just wasn’t practical or really do-able.
Olive came up to bed after giving the boy something to keep him occupied. The same tension was there with the three of us in bed and I got to the point where I just asked where the dark towels were and told her, “Please fuck your husband. You can take the kiddo out for a bit after dinner and he and I can have some time.” She objected a bit but I was pretty sure they were still going to have sex while I was downstairs with my headphones on, chatting with friends. I was totally fine with it and just relieved that the tension would dissipate.
Maybe an hour later they came down and told me that they’d been talking the entire time. They told me that didn’t want to impose any “couple’s privilege” on me and that Olive was going to take the the kiddo for a walk to go get a movie so Java Bear and I could have some time. I about burst into tears... good tears. I continued to assure Olive that I totally understood how she felt and thanked her for understanding where I was... spending most nights alone and knowing I won’t get to see either of them for at least 2 more weeks.
Java Bear and I totally took advantage of the time but I was sure to be downstairs fully dressed when Olive got home. I also made the bed up, opened the window, turned the fan on and sprayed air freshener in the bedroom. We had both showered and were talking about dinner when they got back. The kiddo stood outside the door and they asked me to close my eyes. He had seen a stuffed husky while they were shopping and because I’d talked about my husky at breakfast he insisted they buy it for me as my Valentine. Could that be any stinking cuter?!?
We decided on take-out poke for dinner and I stayed in my jammies and waited in the jeep while they went in to get it. The rest of the night was more of the awesome... cheesy kids movie, dinner, then Java Bear and I watched the latest Grey’s Anatomy while Olive did some meal prep. How I managed to not fall apart completely during that episode is totally beyond me. Ben and Bailey had been “on a break” and they got back together. Their separation was heartbreaking. Their reconciliation was equally emotional. And yes, I know.. fictional characters.. but it really hit home with some of the things MM has said to me lately.
MM and I had our ‘therapy’ night on Wednesday and he talked about how he thought it would be ‘just us’ after the quad imploded. Thursday after my emotional day over Java Bear’s post he asked if I wanted anything from the grocery store and I asked him to grab me some salmon. He had plans to go out to a game night and was going to change and turn around but while I was finishing my paperwork, he got home and put my salmon on the grill. It was just one more example of him showing how much he loves me and wants to keep trying.
I’m tearing up just writing that.
I don’t know how to go back. I don’t know how to unring these bells. Part of me wants to just cut everyone else out of my life and go back to monogamy, but I know that MM’s relationship with Pixie is still in a good place, and my relationships with Java Bear and Olive are awesome. I feel so loved and valued and wanted there. At least, I SEE how loved and valued and wanted I am there. That’s where I’m struggling right now.
I had a meltdown on the drive home thinking about the moment when we were all in bed together fooling around. I was the center of attention but all I could think was, “Is this my life? Is this really what I want? How did I get here?” I started spinning, feeling like a lot of what I’ve been doing hasn’t been out of choice but out of a need to make the best of a bad situation.
Polyamory made it so that MM and I could view our marriage as evolving rather than ending when we got to a certain point in the quople where we knew that we had become disconnected. Truth be told, we were struggling to stay connected before the quad... Poly made it so that we can still love each other and be partners but have our other needs met elsewhere because I’m not ready to really get all the way back in. But the longer we do this, the less I see the possibility of getting back to who we were in any way. That breaks my heart.
The worst part of it all is this sense of being unable to feel the good. It’s that ‘taste of blue’ thing. Most people, if they are lucky, are raised being fed blue things so that they have a clear, natural understanding of what blue tastes like. People like me... we see blue, we know what it looks like and hear the rest of the world talk about how sweet it is. We recognize the blue things but don’t have that immediate understanding when it’s in our mouths that, yes.. this is BLUE. Not a blue thing but blue. Does that make any sense?
My crazy is still really flowing and I can’t imagine that the whiskey is the cause after this many days. I’m hungry and tired. I made myself oatmeal and coffee and ran the towels that Olive said she wanted to wash this weekend before doing the drive back. From there I spent a couple hours doing Friday’s paperwork and coloring Cookie’s hair. MM is at a game night at Pixie’s today so I likely won’t see him until later, assuming I’m still up when he gets home.
I’m trying to prep for tomorrow’s class because it’s one I haven’t taught in months and I’ve got a really big group. I know I need to make myself some real food and put the clean sheets on the bed. I need a hot shower and will probably be in bed early. I’m trying to take care of myself, really... I think this is what it looks like. Writing, eating, sleeping, maybe doing more reading in the Codependency book... I just feel so tired and empty right now.

Taking You In (Prt 2/?) Elliot Alderson Fic
Here Is Part1
Elliot’s POV
9am
Last night, after everything that had happened, I slept comfortable but worried. I want to help her. But, I also want her to know the truth about the world and fight it with me. I hear my phone alarm buzzing on her side, I open my eyes. I feel a small pressure on my chest, looking down, it’s her hand. She’s a lot closer than what she was last night.
I tense up, she is in a small ball. I don’t want to wake her. I gently take her wrist off of me and place her hand gently next to me. Her eyebrows furrow and I panic. She mumbles, “Have a good day at work honey” and she gives a tiredly smile, her eyes still closed. She is still half asleep. Is she in the state of mind with that man?
Getting up as softly as I can, covering her up again, I hear her give a soft groan. I continue on quietly and get undressed. Just as I finish putting on pants and get my shirt, she shoots up, scaring me.
She sniffles and wipes her face and looks at me, I freeze. She gasps lightly, “El- Elliot, where are you going?” she mumbles looking away. Quickly sliding my shirt on, “I have work” I get my hoodie. She makes an ‘oh’ noise, laying back down.
She obviously doesn’t remember the ‘Have a good day at work honey’
Taking a twenty out of wallet, I walk over to her, “You should go get something to eat” I place the twenty next to her. “Elliot, I can’t” She hastily sits up again, sliding the bill towards me. “Do you have money?” I quickly question, already knowing the answer. I just wanted to prove my point.
Frowning, she takes it back sheepishly. “I’ll pay you back” She won’t. But I don’t want her to.
I start to walk out, but before I leave, I look back to her. She is staring at the bill, “I- uh- I don’t have work tomorrow. It’s the weekend.” I say, hopefully catching the hint that we can do something together. She gives a weak smile and nods. I do too.
Your POV
(I’m still not quite sure how to write in your pov, I’m working on it)
   And he’s gone for now.
Sleeping in 1 hour and 30 minutes before you decide to get up, you haven’t eaten anything since Elliot brought me over. You’ve been ignoring the pain in your stomach. You’ve been getting quite good at it actually, though you don’t know why Elliot hasn’t been paying much attention to it. He’s usually quite good at noticing things like that.
You wanted to lose weight. You needed to lose weight. Grapes will be good, and lots of water. Not thinking Elliot will know anything about what your plans were to loose this weight, you head out to get what you need.
The weather outside was quite nice. It was nice and cool, but the sun shined on. It made you feel better. You always loved being outside, rain or shine, it made you feel like you were part of something better. Liking the fact that nothing controls the weather, and that people sometimes think of it as a bad thing when it’s meant for good, it inspired you.
You were getting closer to small grocery store, and saw some pigeons flying above. They made you smile. You’ve always wanted to be a bird.
Anything that had freedom and carelessness made you happy. Happy for them, or it. Happy that they are happy.
Walking in the grocery, you walk straight the fruits and veggies sections. You prefer the green grapes, despite people not liking the sourness, you love it. You pick up a pack, and head to the drinks. Struggling to carry a couple of large water bottles along with grapes, you waddle over to the cashier. It was a small blonde girl. She smiled at you and you smiled back.
The total came out to $6.88, she handed you the change and bid you a farewell. Today, felt good. You felt amazing. Although you didn’t have a phone, you usually just read books. Jeremy never let you have a phone, for a fear of you cheating on him. An obvious hypocrite.
You head back to the apartment before you head off to check out a book at the library. On the way back, you realize how much more enjoyable this would be if you had your iPod. Music always makes things better. You hum to a song that was stuck in your head as you dropped a couple of dollars in a homeless man’s cup.
He blessed you as you smiled and continued on your way.
You climbed the stairs to the apartment, and open the door. You set the waters on the table and grab a handful of grapes before putting them away. You ate those and drowned your hunger away with the water. Your stomach still kinda hurt, but it was manageable. When you finished, you sat there for a couple minutes debating what type of book you should get. A classic like Moby Dick? A cliche like the Fault in Our Stars? You were feeling a little lonely recently, why not fill that hole with a fictional romance story?
You got the book and now your back at the apartment
Ever since you got to the apartment you couldn’t put the book down.
This book was fantastic!!! It had the mixture of everything you love. You’ve been giggling and smiling the entire time. You changed into Elliot’s white shirt and some boy shorts, and you were sitting with all the lights off, except for the lamp, as you sat on Elliot’s bed.
It was 7:30pm, you didn’t even realize the time passing by, you were in that world. You were free.
You heard the door unlock and Elliot stepped in, “Hi Elliot” you said softly. He kinda just stood there looking at you. “Elliot?” You called him, “H-hey” he finally said back shaking his head. He dropped his backpack and unzipped his hoodie, as he walks over to you.
He sits on the bed, “What are you reading?” he asks. Cheeks growing hot, you answered “It’s the Fault in Our Stars. By John Green. It’s a cliche but, it’s entertaining” You admit, closing the book, hiding your face.
He nods and gives you a small smile, “Did you eat anything today?” he asks, “Uh- yeah! I got a uh chicken burger from McDonalds” you lied.
He can sense your uneasiness. “So how was today?” You quickly change the subject, “It was pretty average I guess” a short answer.
“Well that’s good” You look at him, he’s staring at you. Your heart rate picks up. You look at him, his lips, his eyes, his jaw. It looks like he’s doing the same to you. As you bit your lip, he stutters “I should uh- probably take a shower” He mumbles still looking at you.
You nod softly as he slowly gets up and turns to the bathroom and goes in. You put the book aside and laid down, a ton of questions and a long with worries came rushing through your head. You couldn’t afford to be hurt again. You just couldn’t.
Elliot took a long shower, so you grew tired and eventually fell asleep.
.Elliot’s POV
I had to take a cold shower. That didn’t do much justice so I had to do the only option I had left. I tried to be as quiet as possible. I wanted her. But it couldn’t possibly happen right now, for her sake. But also for mine, people I care about always get hurt. She’s been hurt enough.
Slipping on the joggers I had, I walk out of the restroom. To my thanks, she was already asleep. I dried my hair a little more and my shoulders too before laying down. She was laying right in the middle of the bed. I carefully slide next to her, giving her room. She starts to move and pulls me close to her. I tense up, but I listen to her slow breathing and I calm down. She was content. So was I.
Hesitantly, I wrap an arm around her. A small smile comes on her face, she snuggles further into my chest. I am very okay.
She was lonely. I was lonely. But not anymore.
