first hug with the nekoma members
I happened to do some research and apparently it’s considered rude in Japan to hug people :’) and it’s something usually only couples do, so why not write some first hug prompts with my fav team, yay! i always see first kiss but my touch starved ass believes in hug supremacy
type: fluff, gn!reader (implied female at yamamotos) x nekoma boys (unfortunately no teshiro)
warnings: none! maybe yamamoto being silly 🤗 also lowercase intended, not proof read so sorry for any typos !!
summary: you hugging your friend (who happens to have a crush on you) for the first time!
#1 TETSURŌ KUROO
when you approached the captain after practice, he wasn’t surprised. you guys would often walk to the train station together with kenma, so he assumed this was the case. “hey! finished everything up already?” you chirped, arriving in front of him and smiling. he nodded, gesturing at his bag and humming. “kenma’s still getting changed.” taking the chance of him extending his arm, you slipped below and pressed your body against his chest. he froze up for a second, about to hug you back until you had already slipped away from his touch. he beat himself up about it later </3
#2 NOBUYUKI KAI
“need some help?” his voice echoed in your ears and you spun around in surprise. “ah, kai! good morning! yes, i’d appreciate that.” you had been trying to build up the net for practice and kai had luckily arrived shortly after you. he fixed your mistake with ease, finishing it up faster than you expected. “all done.” he spoke, giving you a thumbs up. you hesitated, but gave him a quick hug that was extended by kai tightning his grip around you and patting your back a few times, before finally releasing you. in the end, you were more flustered about it than him.
#3 MORISUKE YAKU
“y’know, yaku, i think you’re a bit harsh on lev sometimes.” you spoke, facing the 3rd year. he stayed silent for a second, before speaking. “he deserves it.” before he was able to move on, you continued. “i don’t think you’re that short though, yakkun. it’s great for hugging!” a light red hue spread along his cheeks, him turning away from you. that was, until he felt your arms wrap around his body and he completely froze up, somehow being able to reciprocate your touch. “see?”
#4 TAKETORA YAMAMOTO
it’s no secret that yamamoto was scared to talk to girls, but you wanted to change that. when you found out why he was avoiding you, you did your best on befriending him and somehow managed to do it after two weeks of being the manager. yamamoto had insisted on walking you home, so you complied after his constant begging all day. arriving in front of your home, he bowed before you and wished you a good night. he started walking off until you grabbed his wrist and pulled him into your embrace. let’s just say, you broke him.
#5 KENMA KOZUME
with kenma, the hug was out of nowhere. the boys had just returned from their run (even though it was very cold outside) and most of them were warmed up, except for one certain member. he was pathetically standing next to kuroo, shaking like a madman, and you shook your head at his carelessness. you approached him, looking at him one last time before pressing your body against his in an attempt to warm him up. his cheeks heated up, but he didn’t really know what to do so he simply wrapped his free arm around you lazily, enjoying the heat. the rest of the boys couldn’t help but feel slightly jealous.
#6 SHŌHEI FUKUNAGA
when you saw shōhei getting the balls with inuoka, you just got hit with the urge randomly. he was there and you were cold, so why not? you got up from the bench, putting your notebook and pencil down and jogged over to him. he looked at you in silence, waiting for you to say something until you opened your arms and looked at him expectantly. he tried to understand what you were doing, inuoka having to come for help and pushed him forward slightly. finally getting at your idea, he shyly complied and wrapped his arms around you. when you parted, he was as red as a tomato.
#7 SŌ INUOKA
in this case, inuoka was actually the one who initiated the hug. while on a walk, he saw a couple hugging and his mind immediatly wandered to you, happy with the idea he just got. once he entered the gym building after changing into his correct attire, his eyes landed on you and he jogged over to your side, grinning at you. “ah, good morning sō! do you need something?” you smiled up at him. he nodded. “can i hug you?” he asked, you blushing a little bit at his direct behavior. “oh! sure!” you agreed, standing up and extending your arms for him. he squeezed you against him tightly, you laughing a bit at his intensity. he hugged you more often after that :)
#11 LEV HAIBA
like inuoka, he was the one that initiated the hug. since one of his parents was european, hugging was normal in his family and he just wanted to do it one day when he saw you all cuddled up in a jacket you borrowed from a friend. he thought you looked cute, so he went up to you and engulfed your body in his arms. “oi- lev?!” you exclaimed, surprised at his gesture. nonetheless he didn’t let go, and waited until you hugged him back to release his grip.
#12 YŪKI SHIBAYAMA
“yūki, could you help me with this?” you called out, showing him a riddle on your phone. he nodded, sitting down next to you and explaining it to you, waiting until you finally understood. in that moment you were just grateful for his help, and didn’t hesitate from getting up and hugging him quickly. personally he thought it was too short, ignoring the small blush on his face at the sudden body contact. he definitely gave you multiple hints of wanting another hug after that.

Hogwarts AU (Haikyuu!!)
Tumblr media
feat. Kuroo Tetsuro
As requested by @forgetou (hope you love it bb!)
Previously: Miya Atsumu. Miya Osamu. Kita Shinsuke
Masterlist link here
Warnings: Tooth-rotting fluff
A/N: Any other characters you’d like to see? Send me an ask!
(happy to do any characters other than Kenma / Hinata / Tendo - I don’t trust myself to do them justice!)
------------------------------------------------------------------
‘So I hear you’re going to fill in for Hinata next match?’
Your head whips around. A growl builds up in your throat.
You’d recognise that sleaze ball voice anywhere - Kuroo Tetsuro, Slytherin prefect, top student in potions and more importantly, the scumbag keeper that formulated a strategy (alongside Oikawa, that brat - but that’s besides the point) to completely break down the Gryffindor chaser trio of Hinata, Lev and Yamamoto when Iwaizumi was out for an injury the last Quidditch match.
If you weren’t playing against them, you’d admit that the Slytherin strategy was perfect. Suna and Daishou caged Hinata in with non-stop bludger head shots, and the Miya twins flew literal circles around Lev - still a beginner, so you’ll cut him some slack, so much that the two idiots collided when Kuroo feinted forward and they thought they finally had a chance to score.
So now you have to step into Hinata’s position for the match next weekend.
You like Quidditch well enough, but you don’t have an overwhelming passion for it the way Hinata or Oikawa or Atsumu or heck, even Yaku does - monsters, the lot of them. You play it for fun, you enjoy being a reserve member, and you’d never expected that you’d have to play in an actual match with Iwaizumi, Lev, Hinata and Yamamoto all playing chaser already.
You’re scared - and you hate feeling this way, especially a Gryffindor like you, so you snarl and hiss and kick your feet when Yaku drags you away from Kuroo, the demon keeper scolding you not to ‘cause a scene in the Great Hall - seriously, what are you five?’, though Lev and Yamamoto cheers you on.
‘Come on, let’s make a bet on our match next weekend’, Kuroo calls after you, and you flail hard in Yaku’s arms enough that Yaku loses not just his balance, but his grip on you.
‘Sure’, you shout defiantly, not caring that the pair of you have attracted an audience. You can see the entire Slytherin team five steps away, matching Cheshire grins on all of their faces. Your blood boils and you’re ready to accept the terms of whatever stupid bet this rooster head proposes.
Kuroo’s grin widens. ‘I bet you can’t even get five goals past me.’
‘I bet you I can’, you retort, even as your heart sinks. Kuroo isn’t quite as good as Yaku, but he’s devious and brilliant at feints and you’re not even a starter on the Gryffindor team. But you’ve dug yourself into a hole, and you’re determined to commit to your position, damnit, so you keep your voice steady as you ask for his terms.
‘If I win, you’ll have to go on a date with me the next weekend’. He waggles his eyebrows at you suggestively, eyes crinkling at its corners in amusement as you mouth an outraged ‘what the hell?’ and Yaku starts shouting bloody murder himself.
You gather yourself and resist Yaku’s attempts at pulling you away. ‘And if I win, what do I get?’
Kuroo laughs airily. ‘I highly doubt that, but name your price, sweetheart’.
You think of the most embarrassing thing you could possibly inflict on this smug bastard, your eyes landing on the ridiculous mop of hair on his head and it’s your turn to grin, sharp and full of edges.
‘Fine. If I win, you’ll shave your head’.
‘Deal.’
Kuroo sticks his hand out to you and you take it. You feel like you’ve just made a deal with the devil himself.
------------------------------------------------
Iwaizumi nags you to bits when Yaku tells him of the entire debacle, the Gryffindor keeper throwing himself dramatically across the locker room bench, complaining that he’s done being a damn babysitter to this lot of idiots without any sense of self preservation.
‘You’re gonna need a whole lot of training in that case’, Iwaizumi tells you grimly, and you sigh, because you know it’s not going to do any good.
And you’re right, because even though you’ve spent the entire week training and running drills in snow and sleet and rain, it’s not enough. You barely get three goals against Kuroo in the match, let alone five - and to be fair, one of them was when you literally threw Lev against him when the referee wasn’t looking, so you resign yourself to his mocking looks when the whistle blows, marking the end of the match where Oikawa outsmarts Kageyama to grab the snitch out of the air first. You feel a kinship with the captured snitch, the pathetic fluttering of its wings so much like your futile attempts to win the damn bet.
Kuroo smirks at you knowingly when you refuse to take his hand at the end of the game. ‘I guess I’ll be seeing you next weekend?’ he asks, eyes glinting as you huff and fold your arms across your chest.
‘Fine, I guess’, you answer with a distinct lack of grace. You don’t notice when his smirk turns into a genuine smile.
------------------------------------------------
The Gryffindor boys crowd around you, groaning in disappointment when you tell them no they’re not allowed to follow you around Hogsmeade, even if you’re on a date with Kuroo Tetsuro - and no, Lev, a disguise is not going to work, your height and ridiculous hair makes you far too conspicuous for that!
‘I’ll beat him up if he does anything’, Iwaizumi threatens, and you roll your eyes at his overprotective streak.
‘I’ll be fine’, you reply, shrugging off Yaku’s attempts at giving you ridiculous magic artifacts intended to ward off wandering hands. Kuroo Tetsuro may be insufferable and smug and a general pain in the butt, but he’s not an absolute piece of shit - plus, you’re handy with your wands in duels so you’re certain you can handle anything he throws at you.
You don’t even bother putting on a lick of makeup when you prepare to meet him. He magicks an enchanted paper plane to land on your desk during potions to tell you that he’ll pick you up from Gryffindor tower at three o’clock sharp, and he’s leaning against the pillar with feline grace as you tumble out of the portrait hole, your teammates shooting him deadly glares as he sweeps you off with his palm warm against the small of your back.
‘Want to grab a drink first?’ he asks, with a surprising amount of concern when your nose turns pink in the cold.
You nod hesitantly, expecting him to drag you into the pink and white monstrosity that is Madam Puddifoots to complete your humiliation, but he doesn’t - holding the door open to the Three Broomsticks, ushering you into the corner booth, ordering a pint of butterbeer for you.
‘My team’s not here, don’t worry’, he says, laughing when you glance around the pub, eyes narrowed for any signs of that odious Oikawa or the bothersome Miya twins - or worse, snarky Suna and devious Daishou, but Kuroo isn’t lying, none of them are around to witness the indignity of your date with one Kuroo Tetsuro.
‘Do you drag unwilling girls into pubs often?’ you snark, tapping your fingers on the table irritably.
‘Nah, only you’, he answers easily, smirk widening with mirth when you wrinkle your nose at him. ‘Come on, lighten up a bit - we might as well get to know each other since we’re going to be spending the whole afternoon together.’
‘Fine’, you say sourly, brightening only when the bartender brings your drinks. ‘Why don’t you tell me about yourself’.
And so even though you’ve been classmates with Kuroo for years, you learn for the first time that he’s not intending to be a professional Quidditch player when he graduates next year, even though you admit he’s a talented keeper in his own right.
‘Really? You’re giving up Quidditch?’
‘Yeah - I have it all thought out I’m going to study potions further and figure out how to revolutionise the potions industry - d’you know the muggles have a pharmaceuticals industry that’s like our potions industry, only hugely profitable?’
It’s so typical of a Slytherin that you can’t help but snort.
But then he disarms you with funny stories of himself growing up. You learn that his parents separated when he was only five, and as a result, he stayed mostly with his grandparents growing up. You learn that he was lonely and shy and awkward - really? you? you choke on your butterbeer incredulously  - at least until he moved next door to Kenma from Ravenclaw.
‘I introduced him to Quidditch, and he’s a natural at coming up with strategies’, he says proudly, proceeding to chatter fondly of quiet, unsociable Kenma, who you can tell is his little brother in all but name and blood.
You tell him about growing up with three older brothers - all Gryffindors, just like you. He listens to your stories about breaking your arm when you stole your eldest brother’s broom, chuckles at your recounting of the pranks you pull on your teammates to remind them that you may be a girl, but you can take of yourself just fine - because Iwaizumi and Yaku tend to take their protective side a tad too far sometimes.
It’s so pleasant that you forget that your date is the result of a bet, and you don’t even think twice about raising a napkin to gently wipe the froth from butterbeer off the corner of Kuroo’s mouth - it comes with the territory of being teammates with messy eaters like Hinata and Kageyama - until he freezes in shock.
‘I’m sorry!’ you blurt out, mortified. But instead of teasing you for your forwardness, Kuroo turns bright red and gapes at you. He must think you’re an idiot. ‘Um - d’you want to check out Honeydukes before they close?’ you ask, in a desperate attempt to diffuse the awkwardness of the situation.
That jolts Kuroo out of his daze. Thankfully, any awkwardness vanishes when he slides out of his seat to steal the bill from you. You complain because he refuses point blank to split the bill with you, and he even playfully keeps his hands above his head to avoid your attempts at pressing coins into his hands until you reach the candy store.
You watch in amusement as he loads his basket with chocolates and sweets for his team. He gets dark chocolate for Miya Osamu, and white chocolate for his twin Atsumu - at this point, I’m convinced they’re just determined to like the opposite of what the other prefers just to be contrary, he laughingly tells you. He gets creamy nougats for Oikawa - I should stop by the bread store to get him mlik bread, but his fangirls spoil him enough so I shan’t, he says. Ice mice for Suna to prank the twins with, tooth flossing stringmints for Daishou - he needs to clean his fangs, he jokes, and a whole bunch of chocolate frogs to be used as bribes for Kenma to go to bed on time.
It’s lovely and warm in the store. You have a good time tossing fizzing frisbees behind the storekeeper’s back at Kuroo, dodging as he tries to drop jellybeans down your shirt. At the checkout counter, you protest again when he slyly tells the cashier that he’ll pay for your purchases on top of his, and he doesn’t even let you carry your own chocolates as you’re walking back to the castle.
‘I’m perfectly capable of carrying a bag of chocolates by myself’, you huff, annoyed that yet another boy is treating you as though you’re made of glass.
‘I believe you’ Kuroo replies emphatically, pressing his hand to his chest with  dramatic flair. ‘But I’m also a kind and considerate soul, because someone forgot to bring her gloves, and I’m going to need to save your hands if you actually want a shot at trying to get more goals past me next time’.
You scowl. ‘Fine’, but you relent grudgingly. You didn’t even know he noticed that your hands are numb and cold. You’ve just never enjoyed the cold, and to make matters worse, it’s snowing. A chilly wind picks up, and you sneeze thrice in quick succession.
‘Can’t wait to get back indoors, or can’t wait for the date to be over?’, he comments as you pick up your pace, trudging through the cold wet snow. You open your mouth to retort, but your jaw drops when he tugs you to a stop, tucking his cloak securely over your shoulders. His body heat and the faint scent of cinnamon and butterbeer still lingers in the fabric and you can’t help but wrap his cloak tighter around yourself.
‘There’, he says, satisfied. ‘Better?’
You nod, not trusting yourself to respond.
He walks you all the way back to Gryffindor tower and when you try to return his cloak, to your surprise, he refuses to take it back.
‘Keep it for our next date’, he tells you cheekily, laughing when your eyes widen and you choke on your breath.
‘I don’t recall hearing you ask for a second date’, you reply archly when your body finally stops its attempts at expelling your lungs from your chest.
‘Well, I am now’, he replies.
You look at him. Though the smirk he wears on his lips is unwavering, you can see a hint of uncertainty in his eyes. And though you’d never think you’d ever say it, but the afternoon was a pleasure, and Kuroo was a lovely date.
You - you like him, this adorable dork of a boy who’s both charming and confident yet awkward and uncertain at the same time. He’s caring and funny and ambitious and there are so many facets of him that you’ve only discovered today - and if you’re being honest with yourself, you’re curious enough to want to delve deeper into the enigma that is one Kuroo Tetsuro.
‘Fine’, you mumble, the tips of your ears turning pink. This time it’s definitely not from the cold.
‘Yeah?’ he asks, quietly, uncertainly.
‘Yeah’, you reply softly, casting your gaze down to the floor, suddenly shy. You don’t notice him take a step forward, startling as he gently tilts your chin up to face him. Your first instinct is to snap at him for coming so close, but he’s too quick for you to even react, leaning down and pressing his lips to your forehead, tenderly tucking loose strands of hair behind your ear.
‘Next week then’, he says, with a wide smile before sweeping off, leaving you standing in the middle of the corridor, mouth open in shock.
The portrait door swings open.
‘WHY ARE YOU IN GREEN AND SILVER?!’
‘HOLY SHIT, WAIT A MINUTE IS THAT KUROO’S CLOAK?’
‘Did he curse you? DO WE NEED TO DEFEND YOUR HONOUR?’
You bury your burning face in your hands. Your teammates are not going to take this well.

Haikyuu Boys and the moment they thought their child came from satan
Characters: Akaashi, Washio, Konoha, Kita, Suna, Ushijima, Yahaba, Iwaizumi, Futakuchi, Daishou, Numai and Iizuna
Warnings: Children, children can be cruel- please proceed with caution, the guys being called not-nice-things cause kids are (albeit cute) incarnates of satan. I say this with love, and yes I have trauma, mentions of injuries, nerf guns and shooting someone with them, pushing someone down the stairs
Akaashi Keiji:
When your son was first born, he was very much a parents-only child. He didn’t like to be held by strangers, which were anyone not his parents.
But there was one exception to that rule, and that was Bokuto.
Which was good because even as an adult I don’t think Bokuto could handle being rejected by little Akaashi.
As he got older, he slowly warmed up to more people, but he was still very shy everywhere not home.
Bokuto had been visiting for the weekend, wanting to come see his friend and his family!
Bokuto had left that morning, and your son was still not happy. He really wasn’t a difficult kid, but this weekend had been a long and active one, so he was very tired.
And seeing as he was indeed Akaashi’s son, he was also very blunt.
“Come on buddy, let’s go take a nap. I know you’re tired.” Akaashi tried to coax his son to come with him, eye brows furrowing when his son shook his head and refused.
“Why not?” his son pouted as he looked up to his father.
“Cause I want uncle bokuto…” Akaashi frowned as he kneeled in front of his son, “I know, but he’ll be back to visit soon.”
His son shook his head, “No, I want him now, I want him to tuck me in.” One of Akaashi’s eyebrows rose, his head tilting to the side abit, “Why Uncle Bokuto? Why not daddy?”
His son sighed, “Because I don’t like you, I like Uncle Bokuto.” Before he trudged off towards his room, dragging his blue blanket behind him, leaving Akaashi speechless and betrayed.
You wasted no time in assuring Akaashi that ‘he didn’t mean it!’ and that ‘he probably won’t even remember it when he wakes up’. But that didn’t do much to sooth the seething pain of your first born betraying you✌😔
Washio Tatsuki:
Washio was outside with the kids, watching over them while they played.
You were inside, talking on the phone with your mom and sipping a cup of tea/coffee.
You were flipping through a magazine, laughing at a memory your mom had brought up, when the front door burst open.
Turning around, the smile on your face dropped when you saw Washio holding your youngest (3 yr old son), who was balling his eyes out.
Apologizing to your mom you stood up from the couch, immediately walking over to them.
“What happened?? Did he get hurt?” Washio sighed as he gently handed him off to you, running a hand through his hair as he shook his head.
“I don’t know, he won’t tell me. All I know is he’s scared, but he won’t tell me what scared him.”
You frowned as you held your little boy, cradling his head against your chest as you slowly rocked back and forth, whispering words of comfort into his ear and kissing the crown of his head.
Eventually, he stopped crying, he was still a bit sniffly and had a few hiccups, but he had settled down quite a bit.
You sat down on the couch with him on your lap, Washio standing after he had brought the twins in as well.
“Wanna tell me what scared you baby?”
Your little boy looked at you, slate gray eyes shimmering with tears as he wiped his cheek before turning to look up at your husband.
He pointed a little finger, “Daddy, daddy’s scary.” He then proceeded to dive back into you, head snuggling into your neck.
You quickly looked up to see your husband's eyes widen as his jaw dropped, looking down to your son in complete and utter disbelief.
It broke your heart the way he clung to you that night, head buried in your chest as he quietly asked if he was a good father, conclusion: kids can be cruel…
Please don’t hate me, i guarantee this hurt me more than it hurt you
Konoha Akinori:
You had brought out old videos from Konoha and yours high school years, wanting to show them to your kids since they were curious. And you and Konoha had wanted to trip down memory lane anyway.
You had chosen a game of Fukurodani vs Nekoma, since those were always good ones.
Your kids were more than entertained to watch it, since dad had long hair?!?!?
They also liked seeing some familiar faces, like Komi and Saru and others obviously.
But one of your children found a specific moment a little...too funny.
It had been a rough match, and a close one as Konoha had remembered it. Akaashi had been subbed out after a ball caught his nail, Washio had very minorly twisted his ankle, and Bokuto had already gone through 2 emo modes, the 3rd not far away.
Konoha had been getting over a cold, he was no longer sick but he wasn’t at 100% yet, so he wasn’t completely in it.
Not to mention he had to make up for the absence of both Akaashi AND Washio.
It was half way through the second set, he was in the back and Yamamoto was up to spike, only Konoha wasn’t expecting Yamamoto not to hit and instead for Kuroo to come up from the back, meaning the ball his Konoha right in the face, knocking him down on his butt.
You all kinda laughed at that part, I mean, who wouldn’t? (don’t lie-)
But what you didn’t expect was a full on demonic cackle coming from your 3 year old who was sat in between you and your husband.
It wasn’t a chuckle, or even a laugh, IT DIDN’T EVEN SOUND LIKE YOUR 3 YEAR OLD!!
It was...unsettling, and when she bounced back not 2 minutes later, you snuck a glance over to your husband, who was slowly scooting away.
Kita Shinsuke:
Kita came in from the fields, closing the door and slipping off his shoes, stretching his hands above his head as he groaned.
He smiled when he heard little foot steps echoing through out the hallway, watching as his little girl ran towards him and into his arms.
He smiled wider when you walked out of the nursery, little baby in your arms as you came up to him and gave him a kiss.
Time skip to dinner that night, all 4 of you are sat at the dinner table.
Kita is sat at his usual spot on the end, you sitting to his right as his daughter sat to his left, you feeding the baby.
He put down his fork to rub his neck, fingers trying to work out the knots that had formed over the past few days.
“You know, granny and I are going to get massages this weekend, why don’t you join us? Gin said he’d be willing to watch the kids.” Kita smiled towards you as he nodded.
“That’d probably be a good idea, thanks honey”
You nodded as you continued to feed your youngest, sending silly faces and smiling at her little giggles.
Kita was about to continue eating when his oldest daughter asked him a question.
“Hey daddy? Why do you need a mass-age.” He chuckled at the way his daughter said massage, going back to eating.
“I’m goin’ cause my neck is sore sweetheart, it’s just from work, nothin’ to worry bout.”
Your daughter nodded, returning her attention to her plate as well.
“So, basically, daddy’s just really, really old.”
You turned away so your husband wouldn’t see your smile, and it worked until you snorted and started laughing.
His small glare towards you only making you laugh harder.
“It’s not bad daddy, you’re just really old, but s’okay, I still love you.”
He shook his head, eating the rest of his dinner with a pout as your daughter carried on like nothing happened and you explained why she shouldn’t say those things.
Suna Rintaro:
Suna was sat on the couch with his oldest son and daughter, watching a movie.
Obviously it wasn’t scary or inappropriate for children, I mean, it was a kids movie. But he had to admit, this one was cutting it a little close.
He would have turned it off but...it really wasn’t that bad and the kids were sitting quietly and watching it, so he figured it’d be okay.
His kids weren’t exactly squeamish, and they didn’t scare easy, but they were also only 8 and 6, so he wasn’t going to risk it.
He also didn’t want to risk it with you, he had a comfy bed and he’d prefer to continue to sleep in it😊
Sometime after the half way point of the movie, a scene came up that was questionably violent for a kids movie. There wasn’t any gore or anything, but it wasn’t a clean death either.
He reached for the remote to change it when his kids started giggling.
Not like uncomfortable awkward chuckles, I mean real and sincere laughter...AND SOME DUDE HAD JUST DIED?!?!?!
Suna texted you with a ‘please help, our children are demons’ as he tried to return his focus to the movie and not his snickering children.
Ushijima Wakatoshi:
Ushijima had just picked 3 of his kids up from school, and was taking them home.
His 2 oldests were talking to each other about school while his youngest (of the 3, not in all), just sat quietly and listened to the radio.
His oldest had asked about his day, and Ushijima told him all about his practice and the practice games they played.
The 2 oldests were entranced, and loved hearing about the sport, his middlest however did not.
It’s not like he hated the sport, but it wasn’t really for him. He much preferred martial arts to volleyball, which was fine with Ushijima, at least his son was happy!
Anyway, Ushijima and his 2 oldests started to talk all about volleyball, the middlest looking confused.
“Wait, why is it like that?” Ushijima peaked in the rearview mirror, “It’s the rules, like how there are rules in Jujitsu.”
Your middlest turned towards the window, “Yeah, but Jujitsu is cool, volleyball sucks.”
Ushijima almost crashed, and it wasn’t long before he got home, pulled into the drive way, parked, and turned to face his middlest with a face that said ‘where did I go wrong…?’
His son just turned to face him, “What?” Ushijima shook his head, turned off the car and headed inside.
When he got inside and walked past you, all you heard was him muttering ‘no child of mine will say that about…’ as he headed straight for the bedroom to lie down.
Yahaba Shigeru:
Yahaba was walking around the living room, sorting through the mail as he separated bills and important things from junk mail.
He had been working in his office all day, doing paper work and what not, and right now he had his ear buds in since he was technically in a work meeting. (muted with the camera off cause how else do you do things virtual?)
So he was completely unsuspecting of his two sons as they snuck up behind him, both holding nerf guns in their hands as they crept closer and closer.
Yahaba had paused, slipping his phone out of his pocket as he started to talk to his coworkers about something when all of a sudden the unmistakable whirring of the automatic nerf gun started.
Before he could even turn around his sons had open fired right on their dad, Yahaba yelping as he started to run, grabbing a pillow from the couch as he fumbled with his phone, desperately trying to mute himself between being pelted with nerf bullets.
“ACK- hEy! You two! Quit it!-” He had made himself a shield out of the couch cushions, finally getting his phone and apologizing to his giggling coworkers, he wasn’t in trouble obviously, the distraction and entertainment was a gift to them all.
The meeting then finally ended, and Yahaba turned to find his sons searching for bullets, him shaking his head as he walked towards them.
“Nice try boys, but I collected the bullets as you shot me, so there’ll be no more of that.” His youngest shrugged as he then decided to instead throw the toy at Yahaba, his oldest then hitting him with it as he shrieked and made his way to the master bedroom.
Iwaizumi Hajime:
You and Iwaizumi had 3 boys.
3 boys who were close in age and high in energy, never a great combo when they’re stuck indoors because of the rain.
You had been taking a nap due to a weather-related head ache, while Iwaizumi did some work from home.
He had heard some questionable sounds coming from the basement, but he didn’t pay them any mind, figuring they were just being kids.
That is until he heard a distinct ‘ow!’ from his middlest.
Walking down the stairs he could hear his youngest chanting something like ‘fight! Fight! Fight!’ which obviously made him move faster.
He rounded the corner to see his oldest and middlest in the middle of a circle, each with one of his boxing gloves on as they circled each other.
“The heck are you guys doing??” They all turned to face him, that was when he noticed they had drawn on themselves to, what he guessed, look like pro-wrestlers, the basement was also a mess.
“Having a cage match, it’s 2 for 2 so far, this round decides the world-class-gladiator-basement-fight-to-the-death match, and the loser gets sacrificed.”
He almost let it go as his boys were being normal boys, until the last part hit him.
“Wait- what?! Sacrificed to who?!” His son giggled, “I don’t know, it’s only pretend, daddy.” Deciding he could no longer bear their empty stares he made them clean up the basement before spending the next 1 ½ hours cleaning off marker.
Futakuchi Kenji:
You guys had taken your 3 girls to the park to have a play-date/picnic with Aone and his wife/kids.
You were sitting and chatting away with his wife, while Aone and Futakuchi talked about their high school days, Aone gladly telling Futakuchi’s embarrassing moments.
Your youngest daughter was 3, and so far it has proven to be the worst of any age they had experienced yet.
Or rather...he had experienced yet.
For you, she was a perfect little angel, sweet and giggly, super cuddly and very much a momma’s girl.
But towards her daddy? She held nothing but malice. She would often smack him and run away to you giggling, or scrunch her nose up at him when he tried to get a hug or kiss.
You guys didn’t know what brought on this sudden hatred, but you were sure it would pass someday.
Your baby girl had waddled up to the picnic blanket and plopped herself down on your lap, playing with some nearby grass as the more adults continued to talk.
Deciding to try his luck, Futakuchi got the attention of your daughter.
“Hey, why don’t you come sit in Daddy’s lap.”
Your daughter turned towards him and shook her head, “No.”
Futakuchi pouted, “Why not?” Your little girl huffed as she only turned her head this time.
“Because I don’t even like you dada.” She then plopped her head back down on your chest while you and Mrs. Aone started laughing and Futakuchi’s face showed only pain.
“hEy! I helped make you, the least you can show me is some gratitude!” Your youngest only stuck her tongue out at him, causing an audible chuckle out of Aone and more pain for Futakuchi.
Daishou Suguru:
When you and Daishou had your first child, your daughter, you never had a hard time getting her to sleep.
But for some reason, lately she had been getting out of her bed in the middle of the night, with seemingly no reason.
Now, don’t get me wrong. Daishou loves his little girl.
But sometimes...kids can be creepy, and yours were no different.
When she woke up at these awful hours of the night, she’d just go to you guys’ room and...stand there...she wouldn’t say anything, just stand there with her teddy bear in one arm and the other hanging limply at her side.
It was almost 3 am, so naturally Daishou had long since been asleep.
He had just rolled over to the edge of the bed to grab some water when he almost screamed.
Standing right there was his daughter, just standing there, watching him.
He sat up, rubbing his eyes as he took a deep breath.
“I- go back to sleep, it’s late.” Your daughter just nodded, turned around, and walked out of your room and back into her own.
Heart still beating out of his chest he got his sip of water, laid back down and tried to go to sleep, which proved difficult with the blank stare of his child still stuck in his mind.
Numai Kazuma:
You, Numai, and your 4 children had taken a road trip as your big summer vacation.
Currently, you were all driving through this cute little town on the out skirts of one of the cities.
Two of your boys were sleeping, one reading his picture book, and your youngest and only girl was looking out the window.
You had taken a turn driving while Numai had taken a small nap, although he had woken up a little bit ago.
You guys had gotten to the outskirts of this small town, and were coming up on a cemetery.
Your daughter was 4, so she knew what a cemetery was. You guys weren’t too worried, she had grown up with 3 older brothers so things like bugs or ghost stories never really bothered her too much.
You and Numai had started talking to each other when you heard your daughter speak up.
“Hey mommy, hey daddy,” You took a peak into the rear-view mirror, your husband turning to look at his daughter.
“Yeah baby? What is it?” Your husband asked as he smiled towards his little girl.
Smiling, she turned towards the window and pointed to the cemetery.
“That’s where all the dead people are.”
Numai blinked as he just nodded and turned back around in his seat, slumping down as his eyes held a certain ‘deer in headlights’ look, slowly turning to see you as he pointed towards your daughter than to you.
“That came from your genes, not mine-” He winced when you slapped his arm, shaking your head as you too tried to erase the utter creepiness you were feeling after that.
Iizuna Tsukasa:
Iizuna yawned as he walked out of the master bedroom, having just woken up from a 3 hour nap.
Today had been a particularly intense game, which they had won, but had left him exhausted.
You were downstairs in the bathroom, working on washing the magic-marker your other children had put there off of your 10 month old baby while your 2 oldests were upstairs in time out where you left them.
Iizuna walked through the hallway, smiling as he heard his two oldests talking and playing. Or at least, it sounded like they were playing.
Recently, your oldest, your daughter who’s barely 4 and your son who just turned 2 had been bickering all the time, fighting over toys and had resorted to pinching.
When you had caught them and put them in time out, Iizuna was dead asleep, so he didn’t know his kids were supposed to be in timeout, and at the ages they were at it wasn’t unusual to see them play together.
Turning the corner his smile dropped as he sprinted towards his kids, watching in horror as his oldest pushed the middlest down the stairs, simply watching as her brother tumbled as Iizuna lost 10 years of his life.
Quickly scolding his daughter he ran down the stairs and carefully grabbed your son, who thankfully had no injuries, heart beating out of his chest as he sighed.
You, having heard tumbles and then tears, speedily rounded the corner with your now marker-free child in your arms.
It was safe to say neither of you knew how to respond to that, your oldest simply waving from the top of the stairs as Iizuna now has a significant amount of trauma.

Captains and Strong Independent S/o’s
☁︎︎ request:  Oikawa, Kuroo and either Bokuto or Ushijima (I cant choose!) reacting to a (fem or g/n) reader who does some type of martial art and they’re kinda tough/strong and (maybe they’re the team manager and they don’t take no shit) and the captains kinda crush on them for it? (I like to imagine Oikawa having a tough gf who stops Iwa from being mean to him and jokingly threatens Iwa that if he wants to hurt Tohru he has to go through her
☁︎︎ pairing: oikawa x reader, kuroo x reader, ushijima x reader
☁︎︎ warning/s: swearing, felt a bit of angst while writing for ushijima’s idk why tho it might just be my imagination :>
☁︎︎ a/n: also dont know if it’s obvious but i kinda got carried away with ushijima’s
Tumblr media
Oikawa Tohru
• is a smug little shit every time you’re with him or in the same room at least
• like,, he could piss Iwa-chan off to death and he won’t get hurt for it? now this is what he calls power
• sincerely loves and adores you, but at first, he kinda got sad that you’re so self-sufficient, you practically don’t need him
• but he’s now long accepted that you’re just so you… and in your relationship, it’s you who does the protecting and looking out by a whole lot (ofc it doesn’t mean he loves you less)
• that’s why he gets so so soft when he gets his turn in being the person who’s leaned on
• as their manager, he loves how you get things done so effectively, even Kyotani bows down to you, as he should—he always says in his head, smiling as he looks at the feral boy getting flustered around you
• he listens to you all the time and we all know Tohru backing down is so rare
“Oy, you’re overdoing it, let’s go.”
“Head home without me, Iwa-chan,” he mutters mindlessly as he screws up another serve, a scowl on his face as he bends down to get another ball; but he freezes at an instant upon Iwaizumi’s words—no, Iwaizumi’s threat.
“Suit yourself, I’ll call y/n.”
Oikawa has never changed stance so quickly in his life, cleaning up the gym as he sends smiles to his best friend’s way every five seconds, hoping he won’t tell on him on his cute but scary girl who could easily kick him unconscious.
• he uses your name to threaten anyone who wants to cross him and they will back down immediately
• also likes to show off because he knows you treasure him so much; he likes to be babied by you especially in front of others
“y/n-chan c’mere,” he softly says, whining a bit. The rest of his team look at the both of you in astonishment as you take the captain in your arms, Tohru’s cheek on your shoulder, looking back at the bewildered look on his teammate’s faces while you sit side by side on the bench.
They could never get used to someone as tough as you having such the softest spot for Shittykawa… like how could you even stand him?
“Really tired,” he mumbles, a small smile on his lips when you run your fingers through his hair. “I know, you were great as always, let’s head home so you could rest.”
“Y/n-chan, today, Iwa-chan hit my head when you were out to get water. It really hurt,” he says, still in your embrace as he smirks at his teammates.
Their mouths fall open, Iwaizumi’s eye twitching in irritation for his shitty best friend.
“And Maki-chan…” Hanamaki grits his teeth, looking at him pleadingly in panic as his mind runs through everything he did today, wondering what he could’ve done to your beloved. “He ate my milk bread; I was really hungry.”
Yup, Maki and Iwaizumi knew there was hell to pay, gulping in unison when you pull away from your boyfriend and narrow your eyes at them.
“Iwa-chan. I thought we agreed you weren’t hitting Tohru again.”
A chill runs down his spine, Tohru simply looks at you with pride, pulling you into his lap as he wraps his arms around your waist before you get the chance to throw hands at Iwaizumi.
Tumblr media
Kuroo Tetsuro
• loves loves LOVES your remarks, your attitude, the way you take no crap from anyone, like “ah, he’s scared shitless, that’s my girl”
• dw, you’re not a thug or anything, but men who force their feelings on you will see heaven’s gates early
• and kuroo’s so pleased about it. sure, he’d love to get the chance to act all cool and brooding and possessive in front of other suitors but what’s more fun is watching their dejected faces as you say—
• “how many times do I have to turn you down? I have my tetsuro, now back the fuck off or I’ll break your nose.”
• you had no idea he was just outside your classroom waiting for you, arms crossed and a cocky grin stretching his lips when you lock eyes with him
• “chibi-chan!” he calls off cheerily, and you bet he’ll tease you about it til death do you part
• “don’t just stand there, give your tetsuro a hug!”
• laughs about how your friendly banters with yamamoto always end up with you winning the argument
• you rub off as mean bc you won’t take any disrespect, even a little—and that’s great
• those are one of the things he loves about you
• but he’s always worried you might get hurt or hated for it, though he knows you are very much capable of beating anyone up even kuroo himself
• so he’s always holding you back, and I can’t stress this enough, but this man knows you could fend for yourself and he is so proud you’re his partner
• he just wants to make certain that no one’ll hurt you, okay kitten?
• your conversations often go like this:
“I’ll beat up whoever tries to lay a hand on me.”
“don’t say such reckless things, you’re not superman.”
“uhuh, geez, I’ll be fine, I don’t need you to walk me home.”
“well news flash, your tetsuro, needs his y/n to walk him ho—ow,” he mutters when you slap his chest.
“go home with kenma.”
“I don’t want kenma,” he scowls, already irked that this is turning into an argument.
“too bad,” you deadpan.
“ugh,” he groans, “imagine a girlfriend who actually listens to you, just imagine.”
• he is the one and only person you’ll gladly accept lectures from, bc his lectures are always reasonable and for your own good
after checking and verifying that you were completely okay, you knew he was about to go down to business.
“you got into a fight? What are you? a thug?” he crosses his arms. You were both inside the gym along with the rest of his teammates who looked like they were far too preoccupied to listen. They were all clearly listening in though, except Kenma of course.
watching your figures from a few feet away, it was obvious that he was scolding you, and Lev already had a ridiculous visualization of you hitting Kuroo. Everyone was worried you’ll fight him, or maybe even hit him, well, everyone except Kenma, of course.
The setter knew that you would never ever lay a hand on kuroo as if the 6’1 captain was fragile. He also knew that you loved and respected kuroo too much to actually get agitated just because he was scolding you, you aren’t an unreasonable person. Lastly, he knew that kuroo would be going soft on you in five minutes tops, his best friend is hopeless like that.
Kenma was right, he always is. Your back is glued to the wall behind you, Kuroo’s hand beside your head, his face extremely close to yours that you’re left flustered which is rare.
After you were rambling on about how you had to put that girl in her place, going off about how it made you so mad and he should cut you some slack, he knew just how to shut you up. And it worked. You’re speechless.
“what was that again, hm? go on, you surely had a lot to say,” he mutters, acting all tough as if he wasn’t dying to just kiss you now. when you don’t respond and stare at him and his lips instead, he already gives in. yes, just like that. “you were wrong to do that, okay?” he breathes, the worry from earlier on making its way out through his voice.
“I know, I’m sorry.”
Locking lips with you, you pull him closer to yourself, and kuroo had purposely decided to kabedon you on this wall since his broad back would be shielding the two of you from his teammates’ line of sight.
After pulling away, he pats your head, licking his lips. “I forgive you, I’m not mad anymore.” You look away in embarrassment, realizing how petty you must’ve seemed to him. He sighs before hugging you, chin atop your head.
“Make this the last time, okay? I swear you’re shortening my lifespan having me worried all the time.”
You hug him tighter as a response, kuroo letting out a breath of contentment. Regardless of how tough you are outside; you are and always will be his soft little kitten and it was his greatest honor that you allow him to take care of you like this.
Tumblr media
Ushijima Wakatoshi
• is probably a little too used to the idea of his most treasured girlfriend being extremely capable and self-sufficient
• his teammates would always look at him like ‘why are you not stepping in,’ every time you’re in a tough spot i.e. having an argument with someone or having a too-touchy suitor
• then they’d be like “oh, that’s why,” after you flung the despicable creature out to space
• he thinks so highly of you, not only are you physically strong, you’re even tougher on the inside too
• this is kinda a given but I’ll say it anyway—he can be unintentionally insensitive (well your relationship is kinda new)
• example no 1:
you were arguing with goshiki and while he would normally like to ignore you and let you have your way; he was getting annoyed bc the argument was far too petty.
“I’m gonna surpass him!”
“and I’m telling you that you ca-
your mouth is clamped with a big hand, and it took you only a second to realize it was Wakatoshi because only he would have the nerve to lay a hand on you like this. he still doesn’t say anything, dragging you with him in an empty hallway for privacy.
finally after you stopped walking, he turns to you and looks at you expectantly. “what was that for? Did you even wash your hand,” you mutter, slightly annoyed.
“I haven’t touched the ball yet, don’t worry,” he lowly says, making you sulk because he totally missed your point. “still, you didn’t have to make me shut up by clamping your hand against my mouth.” He’s too… not gentle with you sometimes.
“you were going to say something you shouldn’t to goshiki.”
“he said something he shouldn’t have.”
he only narrows his eyes at you and you do the same, anyone from your class would’ve been scared at the sight. You were both known as the cutest yet intimidatingly scary couple.
• you were in the early stages of dating and though you understood each other well, it wasn’t really enough yet
• it’s all good though, because once you tell him that he was too uncaring of you and your feelings he does something that no other man would do:
• apologize, admit his mistake, reflect on it a lot and,,, actually change!!
• he’s much softer to you after that, and he finally realizes that you were still his precious girl and you were sensitive when it came to him
• cursed himself for being too reliant on how you never seemed sensitive or needy
• doesn’t dwell too much on regret, just treats you 100x times better
• is fascinated with your passion for martial arts but is against you overdoing training
• one time, he was torn between dragging you out of practice or just turning a blind eye to your visible exhaustion since you’re always so tough anyway, you’ll manage
• but then he remembers his promise to himself to never treat you like you aren’t the most special person to him so he excuses himself from practice and heads to your training room
you sat alone, your back to the wall. everyone else has gone home but you stayed because your muscles were too sore and you felt like you couldn’t even walk for another day. maybe it had something to do with how you’ve been training too much.
you’re startled upon seeing shoes on the floor you blankly stared at, looking up to meet eyes with Ushijima. “Wakatoshi,” you say in surprise.
he is expressionless as he bends down across you between your legs, and you had to admit this was something you weren’t used to from him. “are you okay?” he asks, his voice soft as velvet. you’re taken aback by his question, looking away in embarrassment.
Wakatoshi rarely asks you that, and most of the time it was only when you said the word ‘ow’ when you accidentally hit something. you clear your throat, bringing your hands together to play with your fingers, “I’m okay.”
it was silent for a few seconds before you hear him sigh, not only that, warm, gentle hands had found its way to yours and you look at him, bewildered. “is this okay?” he asks, looking down at both your hands and you nod. “your hands are much smaller, compared to mine at least.” he says, but you’re too flustered to even understand that.
“are other things okay too?” he asks, and like his former statement, you didn’t understand. your silence doesn’t stop him though, he decided to push his luck. tugged gently by your wrist, your back’s no longer pressed to the wall as ushijima wakatoshi pulls you in his arms for the first time in your very few months of dating.
“wakatoshi,” you mumble, your heart racing so much you’re sure he feels it against his chest. he’s so warm, welcoming, and in his loving hold felt like the rightest place to be. “you’re not feeling okay.”
you don’t respond, opting to bury your face at the crook of his neck instead. “I’m here, I know you’re tired.”
you both stay in that position for a long time, it was addicting to be cradled in his arms and he felt the same. “y/n,” he whispers, and you hum in response.
“you’re strong. very strong. you don’t need a man at all.”
your heart skips a beat, “toshi are you breaking up with me?”
you hear a soft chuckle ring in your ears, “let me finish. as I said, you’re very strong. you look like you’re always so tough. but you’re not, and so…” he trails off, so you pull away to look at him, hesitance evident in his eyes, his palm still pressed at the small of your back.
“you’re not always strong. in fact if I dare say, you are fragile, and I care about you. so please, allow me to be there for you all the time, I’ll be here, just like now.”

corny/cute things they do for your love (G/N reader)
Includes:Tanaka Ryuunosuke❣ Bokuto Koutarou❣ Yuu Nishinoya❣ and Taketora Yamamoto❣ x G/N reader
Warnings: Cursing, but other than that it's just pure fluff.
Note: Forgot to add that you guys are not dating yet in any of these, but you both do have a crush on eachother (so basically this is their way of making a move on you). This is kinda just another trash post, cause like I typed all of this in an hour. But i'm gonna try and post something around this weekend, so hopefully that will make up for this. Also I didn't really know what to title this post- Anyways enjoy!!!!
❥Tanaka Ryuunosuke❥
This one is more on the corney side I guess
Watching a horror movie together
The plan is for you to get scared and cuddle up in his arms…
But his plan may or may not have worked
You guys are watching Midsommar at Tanaka's house. And suddenly you get to a really gory scene causing you to cringe and hide your face in Tanaka's chest. So of course Tanaka is gonna try and play it cool and poke fun at you a little. “Aww is someone getting scared?” He says with a teasing tone. “Oh shut up” you pout. He snickers turning back to the movie only to be met with an angry Saeko “AAAAAAAAH ITS A WITCH!!!” he screams, jumping into your lap. “WTF DID YOU JUST CALL ME?” Saeko screams, getting ready to beat Ryuus ass “O-oh hey sis.” Yeah lets just say tanaka had a couple bruises and nail marks decorating his body. But he was okay with it since you were the one that patched him up and took care of him!
❥Bokuto Koutarou❥
Good morning and Goodnight text
Some people find text like that dumb (idk why) but i think they are cute
Especially if it's from bokuto!!!
Also he definitely spends like 40 minutes choosing what to say, cause he doesnt want to offend you or seem dumb
Most likely has Akaashi proofread it before he sends the text to you
The sound of your phone going off wakes you up at an ungodly hour this morning, causing you to let out a groan of annoyance. Knowing you wont be able to go back to sleep until you find out who texted you, you check your phone. The text was from Bokuto so your annoyance from before was washed away. “Good morning Y/N!!! I hope you got your beauty sleep for today. Even if you didn't I'm sure you will still look beautiful/handsome as ever🥰. Also this morning I am going to run by the new cafe before school, and I was wondering if you would like something from there? It's on me.” As you read the text a smile appears on your face. You reply right away saying “Good morning bokuto💕 I did get a good amount of sleep, I hope you did as well! And I would like to see the cafe, I haven't found any time to check it out yet. Maybe we can go together? I'm still gonna count on you to pay though!!”
“HEY HEY HEY, are you asking me out on a date? Thought I was gonna have to make the first move. I wasn't gonna allow you to pay for yourself anyways! How about I meet you there in about an hour, yeah?”
❥Yuu Nishinoya❥
Does something dumb to try and impress you
His plan will most likely go south
But hey at least he tried…Right?
You stop by the Karasuno gym ,to give Sugawara a notebook that he left in one of your classes, only to be met by an ecstatic Nishinoya. “Y/N...Y/N, WATCH THIS NEW MOVE I CAME UP WITH!!!” “Uhhh ok?” Nishinoya goes across the gym and does his infamous rolling thunder move. Or tries to- In the middle of sliding on the ground, Hinata opens a door slamming it right in Yuu’s face. “HEY Y/N!!!” Hinata yells, not noticing Nishinoya curled up on the floor right next to him. “Dumbass” Tsukishima mumbles walking away. “Nishinoya are you ok?” you say giggling, as you jog over to him. “Nooooo” He whines, giving a scared Hinata the death glare no, because the life was drained from Hinata's face when he noticed what he did. “Awww poor baby” you say squatting next to him. He pouts and gives you puppy eyes saying “Y/N my head hurts, I think the only thing that will make it feel better is if YOU kiss it.” “Oh really?” “Yep!” You giggle before caving in and kissing the top of his head. Insert Nishinoya hard core blushing, Tanaka crying in the corner because he wants Kyoko to do that to him, and the whole Karasuno team staring at you guys in a state of shock.
❥Taketora Yamamoto❥
Random little notes
He will slide them in your locker, or put one on your desk before class.
Kenma, Kuroo, and Lev try to help him with ideas of what to write
Lev gets his sister to also help
You enter your classroom excited to see what your secret admirer has left for you today. Walking up to your desk you pick up a folded piece of paper with a flower taped to it. You open up the note, but before you could read it the bell rings, signaling that class is starting. So you put the note in your bag real quick, and decide to read it at lunch. Eventually lunch comes around and you finally decide to read it.
“Dear Y/N,
Please meet me at the front gates after school. I'll be waiting for you my love.”
Even though the note was a little bland, you couldn't help but feel a rush of adrenalin coming over you after reading it. Cause how could you not be intrigued by the possibility of this letter being written by your beloved crush, Yamamoto. After school you rush to the front gate. Only to be met by another note telling you to go to the gym instead. Raising your suspicion even more, you rush over to the gym. And you can't believe your eyes. Somehow Yamamoto got the Nekoma team to do a whole acapella group. You can't tell if you should be scared or happy. Giggling you start to walk closer to the group. Only to be met by Yamamoto profusely blushing and holding a bokay of flowers. “H-Hello Y/N” Yamamoto says without making any eye contact with you. Before you could say anything, Yaku comes up behind Yamamoto and kicks his shin. “WTH yaku?” Yamamoto whispers to the libero behind him. “I know you did not force all of us to sing a whole ass song just for you to not make any eye contact with the girl.” “I'm trying man, I swear.” Yamamoto turns back around and continues where he left off. “Umm Y/N will you go out on a date with me this thursday!?” He screams, with his eyes shut. “Idiot you still aren't looking at her.” Kenma mumbles, trying to get his Nintendo back from Kuroo. “I'd love to!” Oh only if you had your phone with you, cause the face Yamamoto made when he heard you say that was way too adorable. Mans was literally crying.

Hiya! Could I please request number 6 from that prompt list for Taketora please~? Thank you!
Haikyuu!! Prompt list trial
HQ!! Prompt list
Words: 1400
Warnings: slightly suggestive, probably ooc Yamamoto
Pairing: Yamamoto Taketora x FEM!reader
Prompt: #6 ("you, uhm— kinda touched my— yeah..")
Thanks sm for the request!! This is my first time ever writing for Yamamoto, so sorry if it feels a bit off
Yamamoto was an interesting fella to say the least. He was quite intimidating when you saw him throughout campus, with his intense blonde mohawk and sharp gaze. It was only when he bumped into you in the hallway that you got a taste of what he was really like.
"Oh, sorry Yamamoto-Kun," you bowed slightly, trying to avoid his gaze. When he didn't reply, you looked up to see your very red and flustered classmate opening and closing his mouth like a goldfish.
"It's- uh. I mean, it's was my fault, so uh- yeah," he stuttered awkwardly, blushing harder when your e/c eyes locked with his. He bowed deeply in a sudden movement, "I-I'm sorry for bumping into you, l/n-san!"
From that point onwards, you had opened up a soft spot for Yamamoto in your heart. You made sure to smile at him in the halls when you saw him, causing his friends to poke fun at him when you did. You thought that it was cute that he was so shy; it made you want to befriend him. It was a slow and steady ride, but one day you finally mustered up enough courage to invite him to hangout over lunch.
Even several months later he was still flustered and shy around you, so it was a pleasant surprise when he asked you to watch him practice volleyball with his team in the gym after your classes.
"Hey, um. Y/n?" Yamamoto asked, wringing his hands together nervously. "Would you like to watch my volleyball team practice around 3:30?"
You smiled at him, "sure! I would love to." You felt giddy that he was letting you in on his hobby. It was what he talked about most, so you assumed that it was very important to him.
Yamamoto grinned wildly at you, a light rouge dusting his cheeks. He filled you in on all of his teammates while he walked you to class, telling you their special plays. You nodded along politely, and you gave him one last smile before you slipped into your English class.
You couldn't get your mind off of the bleached blonde while you scribbled down verbs half-assed, subconsciously simpering thoughtfully. Your fondness of Yamamoto over time turned into a silly crush, and you blushed at the idea that you caught feelings for the boy so quickly. You kept glancing at the clock above the door, hoping that it would tick faster so that class would be over. You sighed as you doodled on the margin of your paper, absentmindedly daydreaming about playing with Yamamoto's hair.
You walked up to the gymnasium doors, nervously contemplating if you should knock or just walk in. You could hear the squeak of runners on the gym floor, and the loud smacking of multiple volleyballs echoing inside the large room. You took a breath, tightening your grip on your bag and decided to just walk in. You fumbled with the door nervously, swinging it open quietly. You peaked inside just in time to watch Yamamoto leap into the air and sock a ball into the ground on the opposite side of the net.
He got a few cheers from his teammates and you clapped along, causing Yamamoto and his team to glance over to you. You cowered nervously at the attention, and looked at your friend for help.
"Y-y/n-san!" He yelped with wide eyes. He walked over to you, burring his hands in his shorts waistband as if they were pockets. "You came!"
"Of course I did!" You replied, closing the gymnasium door behind you. "I said I would, didn't I?"
You realized that the noise that was previously ringing through the gym had stopped, and you looked around to see some of the team members either looking at you, or chatting with each other in whispers. When you turned back you jumped and let out a startled yelp.
"Who're you?" Asked the giant that materialized beside Yamamoto. He had striking green eyes that seemed to be staring into your soul.
"Don't scare her away!" Yamamoto defended, pulling the beanpole away from you. "I invited her to come and watch me play."
"And she agreed? Surprising," a boy you recognized as Kuroo butted into the conversation.
"You boys get back to practice! Yamamoto, go find your girlfriend a seat on the bleachers and get to work!" Nekoma's volleyball captain shouted at the players. You and Yamamoto blushed at the words 'your girlfriend', but neither of you made a comment.
"Er, sorry about Lev— he's kind of blunt with his words," Yamamoto apologized, leading you to one of the front bleachers.
"Ah, it's alright. He just spooked me is all," you shrugged, putting down your bag. He gave you a curt nod and jogged back to practice, yelling at one of his teammates to serve him a ball.
In all honesty, you had hardly a clue what was going on. You thought you had a grasp on volleyball when Yamamoto explained it to you, but... apparently not. You cheered with the team when you assumed something impressive happened, half embarrassed when the team glanced at you.
During their midway break, you fretted over Yamamoto's hands, "don't they hurt? Is there any bruising?"
"Oh," he waved a hand, a blush creeping onto his face, "sometimes there are bruises, but I hardly feel them!"
Unconvinced, you eyed them and ran a finger along one of the bruises on his palm. "You sure? I can kiss them better if they do..." you teased, only half joking.
"W-well, maybe a little," Yamamoto stiffened, hope fluttering in his chest.
You looked at him and smiled innocently, taking each of his hands and laying a chaste kiss to both palms. You watched in amusement as Yamamoto's face bloomed a darker shade of red at your affections, eyes considerably wider that before.
"Feel better?" You cooed, relishing his flustered state.
"Y-yes, thanks!" He stuttered, looking as though he was about to feint. You could hear muffled giggles from his teammates somewhere in the distance, probably laughing at his awkwardness. "Hey! I don't see a pretty girl kissing your hands, huh?!" He snapped at his friends.
"Pretty?" You repeated.
Yamamoto turned back to you with a shy smile, "w-well yeah.. you're very pretty."
"Oh just shut up and confess already!" Someone, (probably Kuroo), called from across the gym. You heard the 'phtftftft' of a ball flying through the air, and watched in slow motion as Yamamoto slid an arm across your chest to shelter you from the ball. He slapped it down with his other hand.
"Hey! Mind your damn business!" His arm was still on your chest, and you realized with a start that he was gripping onto your breast.
"you, uhm— kinda touched my—," you started, pulling Yamamoto's attention back to you. He seemed to realize his mistake and yanked his hand away, "yeah.."
You stifled a laugh when he literally got on his knees and bowed in apology, "y/n I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to I swear! I was just trying to protect you!" He glanced back up at you with a beat red face, "please forgive me!"
"Oh, it's alright," you said awkwardly, "it was an honest mistake, Yamamoto-chan."
His eyes turned into saucers at your words and his mouth fell open. You had to drag him back up to his feet so he wasn't kneeling on the floor of the gym.
A (very) loud laugh broke your thoughts, and you looked over to see Kuroo gripping his stomach as he spewed the most hideous laugh, "Yamamoto-chaan~" he mocked, "I forgive you for groping me without my consent!"
"It was an accident!" Yamamoto raged, "and your 'y/n voice' is nowhere near as pretty as hers."
Kuroo went into another laughing fit, and you could see Kenma covering his mouth as he giggled. Yamamoto looked back at you with his still guilty eyes, silently begging you to reassure him.
"Seriously, Yama, it's alright," you muttered so only he could hear. "And besides, I was going o to let you do that anyway at some point," your whisper sent shivers down his spine, and he quickly made up and excuse to go to the bathroom.

Kuroo’s Secret Relationship
Tumblr media
Request: hello👉🏻👈🏻 i had a vision and i cant tell if this is dumb or cute but IMAGINE kuroo and his karasuno manager gf at training camp but nobody knows theyre datin so they just keep it a secret so during the camp they try to find time to meet but if one of them is free the other one is busy. so during sleepy time she gets up to like poo or sumn and kuroo suprises her but she didnt know it was him so she punches him but then she feels bad and the next day everyone thinks he got in a fight I LOV U❤️
Author’s Note: Thank you for requesting!!! I am a total simp for Kuroo idk if you guys can tell. This is just a cute little scenario and honestly, I’d let Kuroo punch ME but that’s none of my business. ALSO requests are still open, I’ll close them once I reach a certain amount.
Kuroo watched from afar as you talked amongst some of his teammates that were practically drooling at the pools of your feet. He knew he wasn’t being subtle at all as his eyes raked up your figure but he didn’t know how much more of this he could take.
You two had been dating for a while but you both thought it would be important to keep your relationship a secret for the time being. Kuroo didn’t want to make it seem like he would be putting volleyball as a second priority to his team and you didn’t want it to look like you were fooling around with one of Karasuno’s “enemies”.
It was fun sneaking off behind corners for private makeout sessions and sharing secret glances towards each other but as Kuroo watched you get blatantly hit on in front of him, he felt like he was losing his cool.
The worst part was that since the training camp started, the two of you had no alone time and it was eating away at the both of you. You felt like you couldn’t even smile at Kuroo when he did really well against your own Karasuno without exposing your relationship and frankly, the two of you were both at your wits end.
“ You’re making it obvious,” Kuroo turned around and looked down at Kenma, who’s attention was on his gaming console,” just go over there.”
Okay, Kuroo wasn’t supposed to tell anyone but Kenma was an exception. The two had been friends for so long and Kuroo trusted him with his life, plus Kenma was never the type to gossip.
“ Are you seeing this? They’re practically undressing her with their eyes! I can tell from here that Lev is into her just from the way he’s standing,” Kuroo kept his gaze on you as you let out a laugh and even though Kuroo didn’t hear the joke, he knew your laugh wasn’t even genuine,” I might actually kill them, would you help me bury the body?”
Kenma sighed as he continued to keep his attention to his game,” You’re hopeless.”
“ We would need to dig a bigger hole, Lev has a pretty big head,” Kuroo mumbled as you excused yourself to step away.
As soon as you turned away from the boys, your smile dropped and Kuroo could visibly see how annoyed you were with the conversation.
It made Kuroo feel better that you didn’t like getting hit on but it wasn’t like you could stop them, they all thought you were single. If they would’ve known you were dating the captain of Nekoma, their advances would stop but that wasn’t an option at the moment.
You looked over at Kuroo and your whole demeanor shifted. You gave him a big smile before you looked away and pulled out your phone to text him.
Y/N: pls tell me you saw that- i couldn’t wait for that conversation to be over, lev and yamamoto are going to be the death of me
Tetsuro: trust me, they’ll wish they were dead once im done with them
Tetsuro: r u free rn? I checked this morning and the janitors closet is unlocked maybe we can sneak off to have some alone time ;)
You looked up from your phone and up towards Kuroo who had the biggest smirk on his face. Before you could text back, Nekoma’s manager announced that Nekoma was next up to play for court two.
Kuroo groaned out loud, of course the universe was against him.
Tetsuro: im sorry baby, maybe later tonight then?
Y/N: that’s fine - good luck!
You watched as Kuroo put his phone away and sent you a quick wink before heading over to the empty court.
For the rest of the day, you two hardly even had the chance to share a glance between each other. Whenever he was playing on a court, Karasuno had their own match and whenever he was free, you had manager duties with the other girls.
Even during dinner, you were so busy running around doing last-minute tasks before bed that Kuroo never got to say goodnight to you. By the time you finished, Kuroo was already in bed snoring away with his teammates.
In the middle of the night, you woke up to Tanaka kicking you in his sleep and in retaliation, you grabbed your pillow and swung it over his face.
Tanaka only grumbled and flipped to face the other way, still in deep sleep whereas you were now wide awake. You rubbed your tired eyes but as you tried to fall back asleep, all you could think about was how dry your mouth was.
You contemplated on getting water before you sat up from your sleeping bag and walked out of the room silently, trying your best not to step on any of the sleeping boys. Once you shut the door behind you, you made your way down the hallway to the water fountain in a tired manner.
You weren’t terrified of the dark but the thought of going down a dark hallway at a school you weren’t familiar with was unsettling to say the least and you wish you brought your phone for some light.
When you reach the water fountain, you bent down and as you started to drink the water, you felt like something was off. Before you could turn around, you felt something touch your waist and every hair on the back of your neck stood up.
You whipped around and when you saw a tall and dark figure, your first instinct was to scream and swing your arm out to defend yourself. You made contact with the figure and once you heard the groan, you knew exactly who it was.
“ Tetsuro! I’m sorry! I’m so sorry, you scared me! Are you okay!” You said as Kuroo held his cheek in pain.
He couldn’t believe you had actually punched him but he was even more surprised you landed a good punch in the dark,” See baby, I told you taking those boxing lessons would pay off but damn, you punch hard.”
“ You know you can’t sneak up on me like that, I’m jumpy!” You sighed as you squinted to see Kuroo’s face in the dark,” what are you doing up this late?”
Kuroo kept one hand on his throbbing cheek as the other reached down to pull out his phone,” I texted you to meet me in front of the janitors closet cause I wanted to have some quality time with my beautiful, sweet, girlfriend who I thought would never hurt me but instead of kisses, I got socked in the face!”
You knew Kuroo was only teasing you but you felt so guilty. You wrapped your arms around his large frame and pressed your face into his chest and apologized in a muffled tone,” I’m the worst girlfriend ever.”
Kuroo let out a laugh as he weaved his fingers through your bedhead and planted a kiss on the top of your head,” Don’t say that. If it makes you feel any better, you could always just knock out guys who try to hit on you now.”
You smiled up at your boyfriend as he took the chance to lean down and kiss you softly, his hands wrapped around your waist to pull you closer to him.
Kuroo smirked against your lips as you moved your hands up to lightly tug on his hair,” You know, the janitors closet locks from the inside.”
“ Are you suggesting we have sex in a dirty closet? What if someone walks by and hears us?”
“ Get your head out of the gutter, I never said anything about sex,” Kuroo acted shocked as he tucked a strand of hair before leaning down to whisper in your ear,” unless you think you can be quiet for me.”
You rolled your eyes as you grabbed Kuroo’s hand and led him into the janitors closet right beside the restrooms,” Whatever, we both know you’re the loud one.”
“ We’ll see about that kitten.”
The next morning, Kuroo went to practice normally but not without weird murmurs from his teammates. At first, he thought his secret was out and maybe you had left hickeys across his neck but it was an entirely different mark that he had forgotten about.
“ Woah, buddy, did you get into a fight? I’m pretty blind but I’m pretty sure you didn’t have that bruise at dinner yesterday,” Bokuto said in awe as he tried to touch the large bruise that was on Kuroo’s cheek,” that is a bruise! Akaashi, come look at this!”
Kuroo swatted his hand away and used his phone camera to get a better look at his face. Turns out, you had punched him way harder than he had initially thought.
Kuroo couldn’t even think of a lie in time so he tried to reveal as little as possible,” Who am I going to fight around here?”
“ I don’t know...has anyone seen Lev?” Akaashi asked right as Karasuno entered through the gym doors.
“Kuroo! Did you kill Lev? You can be honest with me I wouldn’t tell a soul!” Bokuto shouted loudly as a few heads turned in their direction.
Your ears perked up once you heard Kuroo’s name and as you turned to look over at the boys, your heart immediately dropped when you saw the bruise you had left Kuroo.
Without thinking, you dug into one of the coolers and pulled out an icepack, even though it was a little too late to ice it down.
You rushed over to Kuroo, not caring that some people had their attention on you as you pressed it against his face,” That looks really bad, I’m so- um what happened?”
“ Kuroo killed Lev!” Bokuto teased as Akaashi gave him a stern look that quickly shut him up.
You sighed as you looked up at Kuroo and bit the inside of your cheek before whispering  softly,” I think we should tell everyone before you get in trouble. You know Nekoma has a no-tolerance policy for fighting and I don’t want it to be a rumor that you got into a fight with someone.”
“ I know, you’re right but can we wait until the rest of my teammates get here?” Kuroo asked as you gave him a confused look,” I want them to be jealous just for a bit.”
You shook your head with a smile as Kuroo placed his hand over yours that was holding up the icepack,” Okay, just for a bit.”

Okay, Haikyuu characters and how they treat their glasses headcanons just bc I saw something about it
Karasuno
Hinata: He would wear them to practice and they'd get crushed with a volleyball.
Kageyama: In a moment where he doesn't have a volleyball, he would just throw them at Hinata and break them.
Suga: He's very responsible and takes great care of them. His one mistake is letting other people try them on and then the people who try them on end up breaking them.
Daichi: He's responsible. He will not let anyone touch his glasses under any circumstances and he refuses to wear them to practice
Asahi: He's scared of losing them so he keeps them in a case where they for sure won't get lost and oh, where did the case go
Noya: Noya would go for a rolling receive and forget they're on his face so they break
Yamaguchi: King of, "Where are my glasses? Guys, I think I lost my glasses-" "Yamaguchi, they're on your face." "Oh, right."
Tanaka: He lost them the second day he got them except he won't admit it so he just pretends he got contacts and can see the board.
Ennoshita: Extra careful with his glasses to make sure they don't break. He even has an extra pair just in case the first pair does break or he loses them
Kinoshita: If he's not wearing them because he took them off then he's checking where they are every few seconds just to make sure they're where he left them
Narita: He's the only one who hasn't lost or broken them yet
Nekoma
Kenma: He always falls asleep with them on and spends five minutes searching for where they fell off in the morning
Kuroo: He thinks he's the handsomest person to walk the Earth when he wears them so he even wears them during practice...which isn't a problem until he accidentally takes a volleyball to the face
Inuoka: Inuoka loses his glasses a lot and somehow always finds them in the lost and found they keep in the club room
Lev: Someone please help him. He's lost them fifteen times and he's only had them for a week. (Yaku has been put in charge of making sure he either wears contacts or sports glasses to practice)
Yamamoto: Yamamoto was excited to get them at first because he thought girls liked guys with glasses except he's found that A. that's not true all the time and B. running with them sucks because they alway slip off his nose
Yaku: Someone please help him too. Not because he keeps losing them, but because Lev keeps asking to try them on and has almost stolen them off his face several times.
Kai: Kai is the only one who can actually keep track of his glasses all the time and makes sure that his other teammates know where theirs are if they ever get them
Fukunaga: He likes to do impressions of characters who wear glasses now that he has glasses and has also made several puns with them
Shibayama: He used to keep them in his back pocket when he wasn't wearing them until he sat down and crushed them
Aoba Johsai
Oikawa: They're fake. He wants them to be real but they're fake
Iwaizumi: He has to keep them away from Oikawa because he keeps trying to borrow them.
Kindaichi: The only reason Kindaichi hasn't lost/broken a pair of glasses is because Kunimi made him buy a case
Kunimi: Kunimi has a case except he has the same problem as Kenma where he'll fall asleep with them on. The one problem is that he sleeps with his face buried in the pillow so he has more than once woken up with one of the arms of the glasses broken
Kyoutani: Kyoutani has one pair of glasses that are in horrible shape. The glasses look like they got into a bar fight with a horse and lost.
Watari: Watari takes great care of his glasses and has not yet broken them, but he has lost them a few times
Matsukawa: He hardly knows where his glasses are most of the time. He's found them in a variety of weird places such as under his bed, on the shelf where his soap is supposed to be in the shower, and even in the fridge
Hanamaki: Hanamaki dropped his glasses on the ground of the locker room and went to pick them up except he ended up accidentally crushing them under his foot.
Yahaba: Him and Kyoutani got into a fight and ended up damaging his glasses. There's a whole lot of tape on them, but they still work.
Fukurodani
Bokuto: He has no idea where they are. Literally no clue, he lost them the first day.
Akaashi: He's the only one who knows where his glasses are at all times. (Bokuto asked to try them on once and ended up accidentally breaking them, but helped pay for a replacement.)
Konoha: Does he need them to see? Yes. Will he continue to use them to keep his hair out of his face? Also yes.
Washio: Washio keeps track of his glasses, but has had them fall off his face because he leaned forward to look at something on the ground and ended up breaking them
Komi: Komi has a little piece of tape keeping his together because they mysteriously split in half. (He face planted during a flying receive by accident.)
Shiratorizawa
Ushiwaka: He completely forgets he's wearing glasses sometimes honestly. People will compliment him and say, "Nice glasses." "Ah, thank you." And then he'll lift his hands up to his face because yes, he is indeed wearing glasses
Shirabu: Shirabu does not wear his glasses to practice, he wears contacts and always forgets so he'll go to adjust his glasses only to find out that they're not there. (The team only finds out he wears glasses during team game night and it is utter chaos as they all try to wear them to see how bad his eyesight is. Spoiler alert: it's really bad.)
Tendou: Tendou takes care of his glasses, but he also fucks around a lot. He's put sports tape and stickers on his glasses.
Reon: Reon is actually responsible enough with his glasses, but he has had to call his roommate to come bring them to him before class started because he left them on his desk
Goshiki: Goshiki thinks he looks hella cool in glasses. He has tried to do the anime glasses thing several times except it's only worked once. (He's also managed to lose his glasses several times during practice only for Reon to pull them out of the volleyball cart where he left them one day while he was cleaning up.)
Taichi: Taichi wears glasses, but he doesn't care that he does. Like he'll look at his glasses and go, "Not today." and ends up regretting it when he gets to class
Yamagata: Yamagata tries to find the weirdest ways to push up his glasses, including placing his palm on the bridge and pushing it up
Semi: Semi is a mix of careful and absolutely disastrous with his glasses. One minute he'll be seen carefully tucking his glasses into his case and putting them in his bag and the next he'll be launching that same bag into the bus from several feet away on their way to finals

Team finding out about S/o || Headcanons
Synopsis: Headcanons for Fukunaga, Koganegawa, Kunimi, Konoha. These boys need more love ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Tumblr media
Fukunaga:
It was hard to believe for Fukunaga to have a girlfriend, even though he doesn’t talk, he wasn’t shy either.
He is the best boyfriend, he cares about you a lot
He isn’t shy about PDA, if you want to kiss or hug him go ahead, he loves it
He loves cuddling you and even loves being next to you
The team doesn’t know you exist because you are in a different club so you can’t visit him at all, but after practice he takes you home to cuddle but they never see you because Fukunaga always leaves last to wait for you
Whenever you can’t walk home with him, he leaves with his team but always buys extra food for you two when he comes over to your house
What surprises people is that he talks to you more than other people which you don’t mind
you love his sense of humor absolutely adore it
Once he left his team jacket in your locker so you decided to pay him a visit since your club was canceled for the day
Arriving to the gym, his teammates were practicing and your boyfriend was no where to be found
“Are you looking for someone?” Lev comes up to you almost towering over you, “Lev don’t do that you’re scaring her!” Yamamoto pushes him away to smile at you.
“Sorry who are you looking for?”
“I’m looking for my boyfriend” “boyfriend? I don’t-“ you spot Fukunaga coming out from the locker room, “excuse me” you run up to him, “Shōhei” you called him
Everyone turned around to look at you two almost shocked
“Who’s that?” Inouka asks Yamamoto who was equally shocked.
“You forgot your jacket” you hand him his jacket, “I was looking for it, thanks love”
Jaws drop, “damn Fukunaga always getting the cute ones” Kuroo smirks while Kai smiles happily for his junior.
“I’ll see you later okay” pulling him for a kiss which his responds to, “love you” “love you too”
“Smooth bastard” Yamamoto groans
“FUKUNAGA YOU GOT SHIT TO EXPLAIN”
He doesn’t come out alive
Tumblr media
Koganegawa:
He’s an volleyball idiot yet he knows how to whoo a girl
Of course he’s embarrassed and all blushly, yet he had cute charms making it hard not to like him
He‘s a sweet boyfriend and very dumb at times
But he’s loving and very supportive so like your personal cheerleader
He doesn’t like to talk about his private life so that’s why his team doesn’t know you and you don’t come around practice because you know he won’t concentrate at all and will end up leaving with you
After class when everyone leaves, you two stay behind for a bit to be with each other
“We have a game soon do you wanna come and watch?” “I’d love to” you grin ear to ear as he excitedly tells you about his next game
You couldn’t help but pull him into a kiss which makes him instantly melt into your arms.
Little did you two know that Aone and Futakuchi was looking for their setter, “gosh where is this kid?” Futakuchi groans as he searches, Aone stops him by grabbing him by the shirt pulling him close to him, pointing at the classroom.
His captain eyes grew wide like super wide, “what are you guys looking at?” Kamasaki walks up to them before being shushed by the second years, pointing at the class room
They were shocked they thought that Koganegawa was innocent
“Hey um *cough* Koganegawa” Futakuchi was the first one to break the silence
Both of you separate from the kiss, “oh hi what are you guys doing here?” He cocks his head to the side cutely
2nd years and 3rd years stopped working
Tumblr media
Kunimi:
This dude doesn’t even tell anyone or his best friend because he’s lazy and doesn’t want to get into details how he got you to say yes
He’s lazy but a passionate lover
You two just sit in the back of the class and talk shit like it’s a normal some people would think you two are best friends
Your humor combined with his is like roasting everyone who disrespects you
But at home he’s a lovable bear, he loves cuddles and sleeps in your arms when practice was hard that day
You would be playing video games as he rants to you just a regular thing or the other way around
It was your anniversary and he wanted to skip practice because it was on a weekend and he wanted to spend it with you
The funny thing is he didn’t ask Oikawa but asked Iwaizumi instead
Of course he was let go without being asked why
You two went on a date, went to the zoo for a while then got food
You two walked home holding hands as he held your stuff toy he got you while you ate your ice cream talking about the latest anime you watched
Then his team bumped into you two
They were shocked but not really because they have seen those little smiles when he was texting you
Kindaichi is dumb so he didn’t even notice
“Who’s she?” He points at you as you wave awkwardly at them
“She’s my girlfriend stupid” Kunimi rolls his eyes as he pulls you closer to him
“Oh Kunimi you have a girlfriend how cute! You’d should’ve asked for advice since I’m an expert-OW IWA-CHAN!” Iwaizumi hits Oikawa to shut up
“Sorry you two we’ll be leaving now” he pushes the whole team away so you two can enjoy your day out without being interrupted
The next day Kunimi didn’t live it down
He was asked so many questions ti Oikawa almost being killed by Iwaizumi for asking “have you guys done it yet?”
Tumblr media
Konoha:
Super sly, he keeps his private life in check and his club activities in check
Even though his team is like his family and you are his love of his life
You and the team never met officially because of time and schedules
His team knows you exist but never really met you, so like you’re his mysterious girlfriend
You were busy helping out your family store and had club activities
The boys had games and even study sessions because they need their captain to be on top of his game *Bokuto gets distracted with the littlest things*
Whenever he is done with practice he would go over to the store and help out
Konoha loves to tease you on whatever you do because he gets these cute reactions from you
He likes annoying you sometimes even have playful arguments which turns into a make out sessions
He doesn’t do pda in public because he wants it to be private because he loves showering you with a lot of love at home and no one can judge him for it
But he will hold your hand and walk you to class, but you two have to sit far away from each other because you two bicker a lot which your classmates would always tease you two about it
You didn’t see him all day and wanted to see him at least once so you went to the gym to greet him, he was all by himself.
“Akinori” you whisper waving at him, he opens his arms and you jump into them
“I haven’t seen you all day and I’ve sent you texts” he peaks your lips, “sorry I was late today” you kissed him back
“WHOA WHOA WHOA!” Bokuto screams pointing at you, “That wasn’t necessary Bokuto” “DO YOU SEE THAT AGAAShi?”
“Yes Bokuto I see it too” Akaashi sighs
Konoha let’s out a little sigh, holding your hand up, “this is my girlfriend y/n” he introduces you to the team, Bokuto literally bunny hopped over to you two
“You’re pretty” he smiles cheekily, “okay get away from my girlfriend” Konoha hisses at his captain
From that day on you’re now apart of stop Bokuto from getting emo squad

Daishou and Mika’s New Year (with the cats)
Here is a reupload of the novel translation, where Daishou and Mika go on a date for new year and end up meeting the Nekoma students.
“Then, how about the shrine near the school?”
“….Eh, no.”
Yamaka Mika hung her head, slightly sulking.
They were in the fast food shop beside Nohebi Academy, and the boy sitting opposite her across the small table was her boyfriend, Daishou Suguru. Friends at their school often commented that he seemed like he had a bad personality, but that wasn’t true. Mika thought that it was a shame, just because he had a mean look in his eyes.
With Daishou being the captain of the volleyball club, he had nothing but practice on weekdays and weekends, every day until he lost a big match in November and retired. Because of this, they were able to stay together during winter break.
He lost the last match, but he was cool, with a serious expression Mika had never seen on him before. But that story didn’t matter now. Their current topic was the new year’s shrine visit.
Seeing as the shrine in their local area was boring for something as big as new year, Mika wanted to stretch her legs and go somewhere further away. The shrine visit was their first date of the new year, and only elementary schoolers would go to the shrine just behind the school. Mika pouted. Why were guys so flaky when it came to this kind of stuff?
“Why not? Isn’t it the same wherever you go?”
Mika persisted against her boyfriend, who didn’t understand at all.
“It’s not the same! If we go to Meiji Jingu, we can drop by at the Harajuku sale. If you want a charm to give to your friend, Yushima Tenjin is the place to go. Oh, the one at Nezu has a power spot for romance. And what else…”
Mika researched other shrines on her phone and glanced at Daishou, but he carried on eating his fries, as if to say that he didn’t care where they went.
“……”
Horrible, Mika thought. This was why girls said he had a bad personality. He was lazy at times, but his personality wasn’t that bad…
Mika began to get annoyed at her friends as well as Daishou, but she carried on without giving up.
“Then… how about Senso-ji? It’s not a shrine, but everyone goes there. Oh, the Skytree’s around there too.”
“Eh?”
Daishou’s sudden interest surprised Mika, although she was the one to suggest it in the first place.
“Uh, what? Do you not like Senso-ji?”
“Ah, no. I just realised I’d never been to the Skytree.”
Mika was even more shocked at Daishou’s words.
“What, really? Why?”
“Why? Even if you have a reason to go, there’s no reason to not go. I just haven’t gone there yet.”
Daishou said, with a hint of tiredness in his voice. He carried on eating his fries, and Mika frowned. It was really annoying to deal with Daishou’s argumentative side. He just had slightly better grades than her. If he was worse at sports and study than her, he wouldn’t be able to beat her in anything. And it was annoying how he could eat more fries than her and not gain weight at all….
But it was the one spot that he had shown interest in. Mika knew she just had to push and push from there. Lose the battle and win the war, as the saying went. Well, maybe that wasn’t it.
“Then let’s go to Senso-ji! Come on. It’ll be fun!”
“If that’s what you want… I’ll go.”
“Yes!”
And so, the two decided to go to Senso-ji. Mika had won by persistence.
The new year came, and the day finally arrived. The train they got on at Moyori station was spacious at first, but more and more passengers were in each train they took. When they arrived at Asakusa by the yellow Ginza train, they got off from the train by being practically pushed out by the other passengers.
“So many people.”
The station was crowded with people going to their first shrine visit of their new year. Feeling that she wouldn’t be able to see Daishou ever again if she got lost, she held his coat tightly.
“Uh, what is it, Mika-chan? Are you okay?”
Daishou was flustered and turning red, but Mika replied with a “Yeah. I’ll try and follow you as best as I can,” in complete seriousness. They got through the gates as they were pushed by the waves of people, but from there, the area was packed so tightly that they couldn’t move.
“Maybe we should have just stuck with the one in our area…”
Mika yanked the complaining Daishou’s coat. “This is nothing! So, which exit was the one near the Skytree?”
Just as she stood tall, a shout came from somewhere in the crowd.
“Ah! The number one from Nohebi!”
Daishou, having been called his uniform number, lifted his head.
Nohebi Academy High School, uniform number one.
The number he bore on his back for a year had blended into him completely, and it wasn’t something that disappeared just because he moved away from the gymnasium for a month or so. It was still the same as his name.
Daishou found a small girl from middle or elementary school at the back of the crowd, pointing at him and jumping about.
Mika’s expression stiffened slightly. “Who’s she?”
“I don’t know…”
Daishou didn’t recognise her. Maybe it was one of his teammates’ sister. He cocked his head quizzically, but remembered who she was with an “Ah,” when he saw the tall, beautiful blonde girl by her side.
“That beautiful girl, I think she was at the sidelines of Nekoma…”
As soon as he murmured that, a deep, guttural voice came from behind them.
“A date, huh?”
Fearing for themselves, the two whipped around. There was a Mohawk man exuding a dark aura behind them, and a western-looking, tall man behind the Mohawk man.
Mika let out an “eek,” and jumped away, stepping on the foot of a stranger nearby. The stranger grumbled “Be careful,” which was completely justified, but became silent and frozen after being surrounded by the Mohawk man and the tall man- Yamamoto Taketora and Haiba Lev from Nekoma High School- and Daishou, the captain of Nohebi Academy High School.
Yamamoto stared at the pair from Nohebi, letting out a low, hushed whisper. “A shrine visit date from the start of new year… that means your parents have already approved…. I see how it is. I see…”
“What, aren’t you guys with your girlfriends too? Over there…”
Before Daishou could continue, the girl from earlier on- Yamamoto’s sister, Akane- slipped in between the two like a cat and corrected him.
“I’m his sister.”
Her eyes staring up scared Daishou.
“See? Now my sister has those scary eyes of hers because of you!”
As Yamamoto began to panic at his sister’s attitude, Lev explained to them calmly. “We only had practice in the morning, so Taketora-san and I are just being made to come with our siblings. Oh, this is my sister.”
“We went shopping at the Skytree! I bought matching accessories with Akane-chan, too!” Alisa, the beautiful blonde girl, held up her shopping bag with a smile.
“Ah, I see.”
“Who are they?” Mika asked the fatigued Daishou.
“The guys from Nekoma.”
As soon as she heard that, Mika let go of Daishou’s coat that she had been gripping. “Volleyball again, huh?” She muttered forlornly, pushing her way through the crowd and heading over to the stairs at the exit.
“Huh? Mika-chan, wait a sec!”
“It’s kinda refreshing. They don’t seem to be getting along!” Yamamoto said cheerfully, as Daishou chased after his girlfriend while bumping into others in the crowd.
“Hey, that’s horrible, bro.”
“What? You’re the one who talked to them first! …Hey, stop looking at me that way!”
“Why are you angry?”
Daishou finally got a hold of Mika’s arm, after getting up the stairs and inhaling a breath of fresh air at last. But Mika shook away his large hand.
“…I’m not angry.”
“But you are. Sure, it’s volleyball again, but that was because they were there, and I didn’t…”
Mika stared coldly at her boyfriend, who was making excuses without looking her in the eye.
“…You called her a beautiful girl.”
“What?”
“You called that person a beautiful girl, earlier.”
“Oh.”
He said that, he definitely said that. She remembered. The colour drained from Daishou’s face, but he had to make it up to her somehow. He did say that, but he didn’t say it in that kind of way. He doesn’t know what kind of way he meant it in, but it wasn’t in that kind of way.
“Uh… it’s not in that kind of way. Anyway, Mika-chan, you’re much more of a beautiful girl!”
“That’s not true! She’s more of a beautiful girl!”
Mika felt stupid and pathetic that she was getting angry over a such a trivial matter, and she really knew that Daishou didn’t mean it in that way. She doesn’t know what kind of way, but she knows he didn’t mean it.
But still, it was irritating, and it annoyed her that Daishou kept making excuses instead of apologising. She felt like crying from anger, but she didn’t want to cry while she was on a date. She stayed silent and stared at the ground, because the tears would come out if she spoke.
“…..”
Daishou sighed, not able to do anything for Mika. He started walking.
“The shrine visit doesn’t matter anymore. We should change our mood.”
The two passed Kaminari-mon, which was flooded with people coming for shrine visits, walking along the street. On the road, rickshaw workers called out to people energetically, and women wearing kimonos were getting on, laughing.
All of the shops were open, even though it was New Year’s Day. It was elegant, and it looked like fun. The passers-by all had sweet sake, coffee or dango in their hands, and it looked so delicious, so warm. Mika was jealous of everyone that caught her eye.
Horrible.
It was their date, and they were fighting again. They’d made up after that match, why did it have to come to this? Was she the one at fault? But it was Daishou’s fault too. God, if only the Mohawk guys hadn’t come…
Yamamoto’s face popped into her mind, irritating her. Right, it was their fault. If they hadn’t come, she would have been visiting the shrine with Daishou right then. Wait, that meant that it maybe wasn’t her fault or Daishou’s fault. It was the Mohawk guys’ fault, perhaps?
A single beam of light shone through Mika’s feelings.
Yeah, it was that Mohawk’s fault! Why did she have to fight with Daishou because of that Mohawk? Why was he wearing a Mohawk, anyway? It was total nonsense!
When she concluded that it was all the Mohawk’s fault, her irritation towards Daishou disappeared, and she wanted to make up with him as soon as he could. Mika cast aside her embarrassment and talked to Daishou’s back.
“…Hey, maybe we should… turn?”
“Eh? …Ah, sure.” Daishou replied awkwardly.
They turned right at the intersection and went into the shopping street. As they walked around aimlessly in the street full of old-fashioned coffee shops and Japanese sweetshops, Mika pointed to something.
“What’s that…? Oh, it says Kabuki.”
It was the building standing at the back of the shopping street, Asakusa Public Hall. Elegant banners were lined up there, and many wine-casks and posters with “New Year Asakusa Kabuki” written on them decorated the walls.
“Guess that’s Asakusa for you.”
“Yeah, it’s Asakusa-like.”
The two started to talk a little while walking to the end of the street, peering into the paths to their left and right. Beyond the T-junction, the streets were Edo-fashion, as if they had been swept into a historical drama. Mika looked around the refined streets curiously.
“It’s kind of a cute street. Hey, look, there’s Nezumi Kozou on that roof over there!”
“…Mika-chan, you’re like a tourist. You’re from Tokyo.”
“Well, I haven’t really been to Asakusa…”
Mika, embarrassed, turned her back to Daishou after being teased, who began to laugh at that.
“I haven’t really been here either, so how about we explore around here a little?”
And so their Asakusa quest began. Enticed by a nice scent, they moved their legs along to a street packed with red lanterns. Every izakaya pub had chairs and tables laid out on the road as well as inside, and the bustle was just like a festival’s.
“It’s so lively even in the afternoon, huh.”
“Is this meant to be… an open deck seat?”
There were young couples and families in seats with wind-proofing vinyl sheets around them, in high spirits even before it was dark out. Mika and Daishou nervously walked past Hoppy Street, getting to the front of the white fence and tiled roof just like a mansion’s.
“Is this a temple?” “No, it’s…”
Inside the fence, there came laughing and screaming. The building wasn’t a temple nor a mansion.
“Oh, I know what it is! It’s an amusement park! What should we do, Suguru? It’s an amusement park!”
“What do you mean, what should we do? Should we go in, Mika-chan?”
“Let’s go in!”
As they ran into the amusement park psyched-up, a rollercoaster roared past above their heads.
“Whoa! It’s so close to us! That’s scary!”
“Look, there are pandas! Let’s get on the pandas!”
Mika pointed to the panda-karts that moved when a one hundred yen coin was put into them. They seemed fluffy and soft, like a huge moving plushy. The pandas were popular, getting their pictures taken and pointed at as they clunked around dangerously in the crowd.
“Uh, I’d prefer the stuff more like roller coasters, or the ones that spin, or the ones that fall…”
“I want to go on the panda! Let’s get on after those people!”
Mika was completely enchanted by the pandas as she dragged the unamused Daishou over to them. They were going to wait until the people on it got off, and then get on in place of them.
When they looked closely, two boys seemed to be racing each other in the panda-karts, getting all excited over a vehicle slower then their walking pace.
“If I get in from the inside…”
“I won’t lose!”
A tall boy and a boy with a small frame. Perhaps they were brothers, Mika mused as she gazed at them.
The panda-karts eventually stopped with a bump, and the boys got off. “Oh, there’s someone waiting,” they said as they caught sight of Mika. “Ah!” When they saw Daishou, they let out an exclamation and trotted over to them.
“Inuoka-kun, look! They’re from Nohebi!”
“Eh? Wow, you’re right! Um, happy new year!”
The larger one gave them a new year’s greeting and bowed energetically. They didn’t seem to be brothers, after all.
“Oh, you’re the backup libero from Nekoma!” “Y-yes!”
The smaller one, Shibayama Yuuki, bowed his head too. The two of them were strangely polite. And the larger one, Inuoka Sou, was making assertive attempts to keep the conversation going for Mika and Daishou, who was having trouble dealing with them.
“Isn’t this place great? It’s open from the new year!”
“Huh? Well, yeah…”
“There was shaved ice that had seven colours earlier on! Did you eat it? My mouth’s turned into such a weird colour! See!”
The larger one opened his mouth to show his tongue with seven colours, as if he were a relative’s child.
“Yeah. That’s… pretty amazing.”
Mika began to feel uneasy. If she let it continue on, she would be dragged into his pace, and end up eating yakisoba in the food court, riding the rollercoaster and taking photos with the illuminated lights. If she was pleaded with that genuine smile, she couldn’t possibly say no.
“Oh, actually, we’re about to go home! Right, Suguru?”
“Huh? Oh, yeah!” Daishou nodded hurriedly.
“I see, that’s a pity! I was thinking we could have all eaten yakisoba together. Well, see you then!”
Inuoka waved to them, and Shibayama bowed his head. Mika and Daishou broke into a run, as if they were escaping them.
The two ran out of the amusement park and along the road a little, facing each other and laughing after they finally came to a stop. “I guess we can stop now.”
“That was pretty surprising.”
“Yeah. We’ll have to come back for the pandas sometime else.”
“Yeah… Let’s come again.”
Mika found herself reddening, glad that Daishou promised her to take her there again. In the end, he always put her first. She had always thought he only thought about volleyball, but perhaps he really thought about her the most, it was just that she didn’t realise.
Her boyfriend’s sentence made her footsteps lighter as she walked through the cloud. Shops, big and small, were lined up freely, making the whole street seem like a maze. Everything that caught her eye was something rare and interesting, making her excited. She wouldn’t be surprised if a circus tent or a freak show appeared right before her eyes. Mika stared around the street as she walked, making sure she wouldn’t lose sight of a sign of somewhere she didn’t know. It was an exploration, after all. When she was with another person, doing anything anywhere was fun.
“…Oh, there are many banners here too. Is it a Kabuki again?”
There was a building with many colourful banners, along with red and white lanterns and cocoon balls that intensely gave off new year vibes. Daishou looked into the billboard, checking the photos of the faces of those performing.
“No, I think… it’s a rakugo.”
When they looked at the building, it said in big letters, “Entertainment Hall”. They had walked Rokku Broadway south from the amusement park, up to the corner of the entertainment hall.
“Look, there are spinning tops and magic tricks, too.”
“Seems kinda suspicious, but it’s new year’s. Guess we’ll go in.”
They bought the tickets at the reception, and entered the dimly lit entertainment hall. When they opened the door, it was packed to the aisles. The humidity was so extreme that it made Mika take off her coat.
“Oh, they’re already at it.”
“There are more people than I expected. It’s standing room only.”
On the stage adorned with red and white decorations, a young man wearing a kimono was talking. I guess they’re not all old men, Mika thought. “Huh?” Daishou looked over at Mika, furrowing his brows.
“Uh, what? Is it… weird?”
As Mika tried to check her white knitted dress she bought for the date, she realised that Daishou wasn’t looking at her.
“What?”
Mika followed Daishou’s glance, and Daishou whispered, “You’re from Nekoma!”
The man with a buzzcut sitting beside Mika turned around.
“Hm? ….Oh, yes.”
The buzzcut man looked surprised for a moment, and then greeted them with a smile.
“Nohebi’s captain, huh? Happy new year. Fukunaga told me there’d be a comedian that he recommends coming here today, so the two of us came. Right?”
Beside the buzzcut who talked gently, a silent boy stared at them. The boy called Fukunaga wasn’t one for friendliness, and didn’t say anything.
“Y- you guys, it’s almost Spring High! What, you have time to spare?!”
Daishou exclaimed loudly, and the members of the audience around them warned him with a “Shh!”
“Oh, s-sorry…”
Daishou’s voice behind her back, Mika ran out of the hall alone.
Crouching through the red barrier, Mika paced through the new shopping street that had appeared. She didn’t know where she was walking, or where she was heading to.
It was just pathetic and frustrating, and she was about to cry.
After all, Daishou didn’t look at her, he only cared about volleyball. He could have just left the kids from other schools alone, but he went up and talked to them. So stupid. He lost to them.
A sneeze escaped her. She realised she had taken off her coat, and put it on. The white knitted dress she had just bought became hidden by her coat.
“So stupid.”
She’d bought the dress by borrowing her new year’s money off her mother earlier, but he didn’t notice at all. It was fun buying clothes. Would he like these kinds of feminine looks more? Would he prefer white or pink? There had been no point even thinking that at all. She should have just bought some delicious cakes instead of clothes. The ones at the underground floor of the department store that cost about 500 yen apiece, lots of it.
As she thought such things, the back of her nose stung and tears started to appear. As she held back her tears, the flamboyant banner was still waving about in front of her, but it didn’t matter anymore. Kabuki or Rakugo, it didn’t seem fun anymore, like a spell had been removed. But when she glanced at the sign, it read “Rokyoku”, neither Kabuki nor Rakugo. It was even more frustrating.
She couldn’t take it anymore. No more.
Her makeup would be washed away, but she didn’t care anymore. She was going to cry, and she didn’t care about it.
Mika decided so, and stopped walking. She glanced up at the sky, and let out an “ah” sound. In the blue, pure new year’s sky, the large, large skytree towered.
“It’s so big…”
Her tears disappeared.
Beside the road she’d been walking, there had been the skytree all along, pointing up. Of course it was, it was always in the same Asakusa. But she had been walking hunched forward, running as if she were escaping from something, looking around as if looking for a secret in the alleyway. She hadn’t noticed at all.
Forgetting that she wanted to cry, Mika started to walk straight ahead. When she got out of the shopping street, it was Senso-ji. The place where they were meant to come for their first shrine visit. When she carried on while staring at the skytree, she could see the amusement park from earlier to her left, and if she listened carefully, she could hear the rollercoaster too. It felt like she had been walking around a lot, but really, she had just been going round and round the same spot. It was rather funny.
“I didn’t notice at all, either.”
As she walked at the back of the five-story pagoda to the main hall of the temple, Mika realised she hadn’t completed her new year’s shrine visit yet and joined the queue for worship. Daishou ran there, out of breath.
“You’re there… I’m glad… What’s wrong, all of a sudden, Mika-chan?!”
“Sorry.”
“Huh? No, it’s… you don’t have to apologise.”
Daishou averted his eyes, for some reason. He had a tendency to become flustered and nervous at weird moments, Mika thought. She undid the buttons on her coat, showing Daishou her dress inside.
“I bought this a little while ago.”
“Huh? Oh… I think it is cute.”
“Why’re you being polite all of a sudden?”
Mika burst out laughing a little. She couldn’t wait around, hoping to be noticed, she thought. If she didn’t talk to him and show him, they wouldn’t be able to reach an understanding. It’s embarrassing and hard, but even so, they would talk, bit by bit.
The line they queued up at moved slowly, and they finally started to talk quietly. When it was their turn, they threw their coins in and pressed their hands together. And they held hands and walked down the steps.
The sound of shaking the oracle box, the sound of a mobile phone’s camera. Many sounds and many words from different countries rained down. A selfie stick popped out somewhere, too. They walked under Hozomon gate where the two Deva gods stood, and walked the shopping streets to the Kaminari-mon.
“Hey, what did you wish for earlier?”
“Huh? Well, nothing really...”
Mika glared lightly and elbowed her boyfriend, who was mumbling for some reason. “Tell me.” She couldn’t know if he didn’t say it.
“Ow. Well, so… In the Spring High, I wished that they- Nekoma would get at least one win.”
“What, why?” Mika stopped walking.
“Why? …Well, I kinda want them to win for us, as well.”
“What…? I wished I could go shrine visiting with Suguru next year too, but now I just look like an idiot!”
“What?!”
Daishou was dumbstruck by the unexpected words, but Mika couldn’t be stopped now.
“You weren’t even enthusiastic about shrine visiting, Suguru. You just made it seem like you didn’t care where we went!”
“…No, I was looking forward to it! But I said wherever is fine, because it’s embarrassing to act like I’m excited for the date…”
“What’s that mean? I don’t get you!”
It wasn’t just Daishou and Mika that stopped and stood in the crowd. Behind them, two guys stood whispering quietly, but loud enough to make them hear what they were saying.
“It’s a shoujo manga.”
“It is, indeed.”
Mika turned around, surprised. There was yet another tall guy and a shorter guy, but they were nowhere near as pure as the two she’d met at the amusement park. Before she could wonder who those guys were, Daishou shouted.
“Kuroo, you bastard, why are you here?!”
The duo behind them were Nekoma’s third years, Captain Kuroo Tetsurou and Libero Yaku Morisuke. They paid no attention to the red-faced, yelling Daishou and nibbled on ningyo-yaki while arguing.
“See? There are these types of pain-in-the-ass people. This is why we should have just gone shrine visiting in our local area. Kenma won’t come if it’s far away. He’ll say he’s too tired.”
“Shut up! The bigger it is, the more advantage you get!”
“God isn’t that much of a simpleton.”
As if to lash out at the loudly bickering duo, Daishou screamed.
“Oi, Nekoma! You ignoring me?!”
“Hm? Oh, it’s just shoujo manga-kun.”
“Don’t call me that.”
Daishou tried to appear intimidating to hide his embarrassment, but Kuroo continued to smirk.
“I already know you’re a good guy. Never would have guessed you were praying for our victory.”
“Never would have guessed.”
Yaku crossed his arms and nodded too.
“Were you guys eavesdropping…?!”
Embarrassment and humiliation turned Daishou a deep red up to his neck as he glared at Kuroo. But Kuroo merely tapped Daishou’s shoulder lightly.
“Don’t worry. We won’t just win once.”
The words made Daishou momentarily confused, but as soon as he locked eyes with Kuroo, who was smirking with the corners of his mouth, he smiled lightly and retorted.
“You’ve said it now.”
They made a strange face that could have been a glare or a smile, but soon burst out laughing, unable to hold it in any longer.
“Lose, lose! Lose already, you shitty cat!”
“Sadly for you, we’re definitely not losing!”
“Nekoma has me, after all.”
“Well, we won last time without needing Yaku, though.”
“Huh?!”
“That’s it, fall out amongst yourselves!”
“Nope, not falling out anytime soon!”
Mika dropped her shoulders as she watched the three argue childishly.
“Guys are so stupid.”
They seemed so stupid, but they fought many times, won and lost, and still could argue like this. She was a little jealous. Maybe, she thought, maybe playing a volleyball match instead of talking and hanging out made people understand each other more. It was pretty neat, she though as she waved at Daishou under Kaminari-mon.
“Come on already! Let’s go!”
They couldn’t go to the Sky tree after all, but she would go another time. Take her time, when Nekoma’s guys weren’t there. But if she were to encounter them again- she’d like to eat anmitsu or ice cream wafers with them, together. Even with that Mohawk.

An experience
Tsukishima Kei X Reader
Warnings: none
Word count: 5.2k
Summary: Kuroo makes you, a first year manager at Nekoma, go to the week long training camp where you meet Tsukishima.
~
Tumblr media
“Come on y/n! This could be a good experience for you!” Kuroo begged you as he followed you around the Nekoma gym.
You picked up another volleyball before turning to face him, “Kuroo-San I’m not even the manager, I’m the manager in training. Why would you want me there?”
“Exactly! Managers in training still go to these!” You just shook your head and went to pick up another ball. Kuroo stood with his hands on his hips before smirking at you. “I’ll get Yaku to make you come.”
Your entire body shuddered at the thought. Yaku was small but damn he was scary. “Please don’t he scares me when he’s upset.”
“Then come! Come on it’s only your first year so you’ll have to go to more in the future anyways you might as well get used to them!” Kuroo further explained, “at the first camp a few weeks ago we met Karasunos new manager. She’s a first year like you, so you won’t be the only manager learning.”
You contemplated the idea before turning to glance at the captain, who was giving you puppy eyes and now you couldn’t resist. “If I say yes you have to help me clean the gym.” He smiled brighter then you expected him too.
“Deal.”
~
“Y/n-San! Come here for a sec!” Yamamoto was the one who called you over and you noticed he was in front of an entire team. Damn, It was already the first day of the camp and you were already nervous to be around these players. You jogged over to Yamamoto, who wrapped his arm around your shoulder upon arrival.
“Y-yes?” You only kept your eyes on him, to nervous to look at the entire team in front of you.
Yamamoto seemed to ignore you as he pointed to one of the team members. “Tanaka-san look! We have a manager in training now!” He laughed like a maniac and out of confusion you looked towards the team to see this Tanaka.
Tanaka laughed as he wrapped his arms around his two managers, “she can’t hold a light to ours.”
“Eh?!” One of them shouted, the blonde one. You noted she seemed pretty young, she could be the first year Kuroo was talking about. The two girls looked up at him with glares and you wondered why you weren’t as offended as they were about what just happened.
Your face did blush in embarrassment though as the two managers pulled away from Tanaka and then the said man was smacked on the head by the captain of the team.
“You shouldn’t say things like that Tanaka-San.” Your eyes snapped over to whoever made the comment and connected with the tall blonde. He held your gaze for a second longer before walking away.
“Tsukki!” Another one called, running after him. Your eyes followed him and this time the blush on your face wasn’t caused from embarrassment. Yamamoto left you awhile ago, you had noticed. Maybe it was when Tanaka walked away and he followed but you didn’t care.
“I’m sorry about him.” Your head quickly looked back in front of you to see the two Karasuno managers bowing before you in apology. You laughed nervously and waved your hands at them.
“It’s okay!”
“I’m Kiyoko Shimuzu, I’m a third year at Karasuno. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Kiyoko bowed slightly again.
“Oh! I’m a first year, my names Hitoka Yachi. Nice to meet you!” Yachi bowed also and you smiled in delight, at least you were making some friends.
“L/n y/n, I’m a first year at Nekoma.” You bowed before looking around at the courts, your team was getting ready to go up against Karasuno. “I’m sorry if it’s a bother, but would it be alright if I stayed with you guys for awhile? I’m kinda new to this manager thing.”
Kiyoko smiled and nodded slightly before walking towards the Karasuno coach, with you following behind.
Tsukishima had been watching you since he got onto the court, watching as Kiyoko introduced you to there coach. He couldn’t seem to look away.
“Tsukishima pay attention!” Tanaka yelled causing Tsukishima to flinch and face forwards again, trying to ignore the faint heat on his cheeks.
He had hoped no one noticed but of course Yamaguchi did. The freckled boy looked in the direction Tsukishima had been and saw you standing beside Yachi, watching the match. “Hey Suga-San?”
Suga hummed in response to focused on the match that had just started. “That girl over there, she’s Nekomas manager right?” Suga looked towards the direction Yamaguchi was talking about
“Yeah I think so, why?” Yamaguchi just shook his head in response and they both went back to watching the match.
~
“So, how was the first day?” Kuroo asked as he walked with you out of the gym. You had no idea where he was leading you but you just went with it.
“That Tanaka guy called me ugly.” You deadpanned and the rage that filled his face almost made you laugh had it not been for him trying to run away to give Tanaka a piece of his mind. “Kuroo-San! I’m kidding he didn’t directly call me ugly.”
“Damn crows.” He muttered before making a turn. You went to ask him where he was going but he seemed to already have read your mind “you’re gonna watch me practice a bit longer.”
“Eh? Why?”
“Because I need to teach Lev and you need to learn more about Volleyball.” He teased you so often that you just took everything he said as teasing. “Besides you haven’t met Bokuto yet.”
“Bokuto?”
“Kuroo!!” You squeaked in surprise from the yell before turning to face the other man in the gym. He was there with his Setter. “Oh? You brought a friend?”
He smirked at you and you quickly backed up behind Kuroo who laughed in response. “Bokuto-San you’re scaring her” his setter sighed out
“Hm?” He looked between his setter and you before realizing he was right. “Ah! Akaashi! I didn’t mean to!” He cried out desperately.
“Don’t apologize to me.” Akaashi muttered, turning away from him and Bokuto ran up to you and Kuroo moved out of the way so Bokuto could grab your shoulders.
“I didn’t mean to scare you, I’m Bokuto.” This time he gave you a genuine smile and immediately you felt more at ease. “You’re Nekomas manager right?”
“Yeah and she’s here to help” Kuroo said before Lev walked into the gym, immediately being dragged away to practice receiving.
“Here to help? Can you toss us some balls then?” Bokuto asked and you nodded. You grabbed the cart of volleyballs from them and went to where they told you to go and tossed the balls to Akaashi who set them for Bokuto.
You weren’t that far into practice but your arms were starting to hurt and thankfully they took a break to stretch and talk while Bokuto stretched next to Kuroo by the open door, waiting for someone to walk by. Tsukishima happened to be that person. When Kuroo poked his nerves Tsukishima ultimately decided to join there practice. When he walked in his eyes immediately connected with yours as you searched for who they were talking to. You blushed when you saw it was him and continued to pick up the volleyballs.
You continued to pick them up when someone held the last one in front of you. You looked up to see the blonde standing there, avoiding your gaze as you took the ball from his hands with a small thank you.
Kuroo and Bokuto shared a smirk before Kuroo grabbed Lev to make him practice again. You went back to where you were and continued to give them tosses while Tsukishima blocked this time.
After awhile longer of torturing Lev, Kuroo decided to join and help Tsukishima block. The four of them practiced for a long time after that, if your arms were hurting before they were definitely hurting now. When they stopped for a minute to talk, you went to start picking up the volleyballs again but noticed that whatever Kuroo said to Tsukishima, upset him and he started to leave the gym.
He looked over at you one more time when more of Nekoma came to join in on the practice. He narrowed his eyes at one of the first years Inouka, who wrapped his arm around your shoulders making you drop the volleyball in your grasp.
The ball rolled over to him and he picked it up, looking back to you to see you push away the first year to grab the ball but stopping when you saw he was holding it. He silently tossed it back to you before walking out the door.
You watched him go silently before you noticed his water bottle still in the gym. You dropped the ball in the cart before running over and grabbing it then running after him. He wasn’t that far.
“Um excuse me?” You were so quiet that if you were any further behind he wouldn’t have heard you. He turned towards you and his eyes widened when he saw you but he quickly went back to his cool exterior.
“What?” You blushed with embarrassment at how bored he sounded with you and held his water bottle up.
“You forgot this.” He was silent for a minute before he went to grab it.
“Thank you.” He said softly and went to turn away when you called out to him.
“Good job today!” He stopped in his tracks. Looking slightly behind his shoulder at you he just nodded and continued to walk away.
“Did you see that?” Kuroo whispered to Bokuto as they spied from the doorway. Bokuto nodded eagerly before he furrowed his eyebrows.
“See what?”
Kuroo rolled his eyes and pointed discreetly at Tsukishima. “He smiled when he turned away. Look!” Bokuto looked up at his friend, following where he was pointing before he gasped, causing Kuroo to cover his mouth with his hand and shush him.
“Someone’s got a crush!” Kuroo laughed, pulling Bokuto away from the door and back towards practice.
~
The next night was the same however Tsukishima came to them willingly. You were running late just because you were talking to the coach about the plays. He knew you weren’t very experienced and was trying to help you the best he could. You almost wanted to go to bed after the whole thing but Kuroo threatened to drag you to the gym if you didn’t show up at all.
So here you were walking in, in the middle of there practice. “Ah Kuroo-San why do you make me come here?” You sighed in exhaustion. Your presence didn’t go unnoticed and almost immediately they stopped practicing.
“Y/n-Chan!” Bokuto cheered as he ran towards you, grabbing you in a hug and swinging you around.
“Ah Bokuto-San!” Your head was getting dizzy from all of the movement. Everyone quickly came to your aid and you were almost immediately dropped. Akaashi and kuroo held Bokuto back as Tsukishima steadied you.
“Are you alright?” You almost winced at his bored tone again but you nodded anyways. What you didn’t realize was he showed you more care then he had for anyone else in awhile.
His hold on you lingered for awhile longer before he saw Kuroo turn to them and he let go. “Ah, y/n I’m sorry I forgot I told you to come tonight. You can go get some rest if you’d like.” You looked between him and Tsukishima, who seemed slightly disappointed.
“No it’s okay I’ll toss for your guys again.” You smiled to Kuroos confusion. He knew you didn’t want to be here. He was about to ask you when his eyes glanced towards Tsukishima who had the faintest smile and he smirked.
“Oi Tsukishima!” The tall blonde walked over to Kuroo who still had a smirk on his face. “Go all out yeah?”
“Why wouldn’t I?” He seemed genuinely confused.
“No, if you want to impress my manager show her something impressive.” And before Tsukishima could deny it Kuroo walked away, leaving the blushing blonde behind.
You helped them practice again that night, you loved seeing how hard they worked and how each night Tsukishima seemed to get more into it. The practice was shorter then the other night and after you helped clean everything up you all were heading out. Kuroo, Bokuto and Akaashi were all walking ahead of you while you and Tsukishima walked together silently.
“Good job today.” You finally broke the silence with the same thing you said to him the night before and looked up at him with a small smile which caused his heart to melt just a little bit.
“Thanks.” And then it was quiet again but a comfortable quiet. “How’s being a manager?”
You were a little surprised by his question but smiled again nonetheless. “I mean I don’t know to much but I’m learning and I’m getting pretty close to the guys so it’s nice.”
“Pretty close?”you were completely oblivious to the question hiding underneath.
“Mm, all the third years and second years are like my older, overprotective brothers.” You explained and he felt more at ease with the friend zone title you gave more then half of your team. But there were still the first years.
“And the first years?”
“Some are about as inexperienced as I am so that’s nice but they’re also just like my annoying brothers.” He almost sighed in relief before he noticed the three walking in front of them, staring at him.
You all walked on in silence the rest of the way and you were the first to say your goodbyes and Kuroo would’ve been to but he decided to walk more with the others. When Akaashi and Bokuto said there good nights Kuroo finally turned to the tall blonde.
“So did you impress her?” He smirked, walking with Tsukishima who was trying to escape his questions.
“Why do you care?”
“Look tsukki, she obviously likes you and I love my precious little manager so just don’t hurt her okay?” Tsukishima was quiet. Kuroo watched him before he grabbed his arm and stopped him from walking. “I’m serious. But also, if you want her to pay attention to you, give her something to notice.”
Tsukishima watched the older captain walk away. He glanced down at the ground contemplating his words before he continued his walk.
~
By the third day you were looking forward to the late practices. You learned to love watching them all play, it made you happy to see them play the sport they loved.
So throughout the day of watching the practice games you were hoping they’d have another night practice. You glanced over at Tsukishima who was drinking from his water bottle. You hoped he’d join tonight too.
You were currently watching him play against your own team. When someone finally pointed Hinata out to you you understood why Tsukki was frustrated. That guy had a crazy amount of stamina. He seemed off though, he seemed more frustrated, angrier then any other days.
You made a note to ask Tsukishima about that later. About his whole team actually, they all seemed so tense to you. Karasuno ended up losing that game too.
That night after everyone was packed up and getting ready to either clean up or practice more, you were talking with Kenma before he was pulled away by Hinata.
“Oi y/n! You gonna help us again tonight?” Kuroo called from the doorway where he was waiting with Bokuto and Akaashi.
“Yeah!” You called back, getting ready to meet them by the door when Tsukishimas voice stopped you.
“I’ll walk with you.” You were surprised but you smiled and nodded nonetheless. Kuroo and the other two left when they saw Tsukishima would walk with you, giving you guys time to talk without them ease dropping.
“Tsukishima-San?” He hummed in response, “your team seems to be very tense right now.”
“Yeah” you cringed slightly you should’ve known better then to just end it there and not ask a question too.
“Why is that?” You asked this time. He glanced down at you before looking forward again. You almost thought he was going to ignore you.
“Before we came here we competed against Aoba Johsai. They’re a powerhouse school so of course we lost. But I think everyone’s still holding onto it and pushing themselves to be better.” He explained the whole thing to you but you couldn’t understand why he sounded slightly annoyed with everyone pushing themselves
“Well they want to beat this school, so maybe they think learning and pushing themselves will get them there.” You told him but he only shook his head.
“They just don’t understand what a break is.” Tsukishima seemed to almost have a worried tone but he covered it up. “They won’t beat Aoba Johsai if they get themselves hurt.”
“Well what do you think? Do you think you will beat them next time?” You asked him and he went silent. Did he? He really didn’t know at this point. But when he looked down at you, your hopeful eyes staring back at him he knew his answer.
“I hope so.” The smile you gave him would continue to melt his heart.
When you both got to the gym it was the same routine as the nights before, you’d help by giving them tosses and then picking up the balls when they decided to take a break.
But when Hinata and Lev came barging in asking to join they asked you to keep track of the score as they had a 3 on 3. As you watched you got more and more invested, they got so into the practices they played that it was always fun watching. The game would have continued had it not been for the two managers from Fukurodani telling them they wouldn’t get dinner if they didn’t stop practicing.
Everyone left after that. Tsukishima waited for you by the door as you picked up the ball and put it in the basket. “You didn’t have to wait” you told him but you certainly weren’t complaining about it.
“I didn’t want you to walk alone this late.” Was his excuse and you would have believed it if you weren’t on school grounds where you were sure nothing was gonna happen.
“Your blocks are getting better Tsukishima-San.” He blushed lightly at the compliment and gave you a small thank you before you both arrived at the cafeteria.
The two of you ate together and then he walked you to where your team was staying. The two of you talked for a few more minutes before he kissed your head, without thinking about it. As soon as he realized he practically ran and you were left standing there with a smile and a bright red face.
~
The next day just really wasn’t your day. You felt like the world was against you for some reason and it was almost the last day too. When you woke up you found out that your water bottle leaked and got all over your clothes and the only things dry were the workout gear you had laying outside the bag.
After you laid all the clothes out you ended up being late to the practice matches and had to run there and as soon as you got to the doors you tripped just right outside. Thankfully no one noticed as they were to busy focusing. But you held your elbow as it bled, looking for someone who might be able to help and the first person you thought of was Kiyoko.
On your way to ask her though a stray ball that was hit to hard started flying towards you and smacked you in the back with so much force, knocking the wind out of you. The teams playing went silent as you knelt to the ground, trying to catch your breath as Karasunos coach’s and managers ran to you.
“Y/n-San, are you alright?” Kiyoko asked kneeling down next to you. You tried to respond but you couldn’t get enough oxygen back into your lunges.
“Y/n-San just try and take a deep breathe for me.” Takeda instructed and you really were trying. But when less oxygen was getting into your lunges then you wanted, you started to panic. You could hear footsteps running to you and before you could register someone was holding your hand. You looked up to see Kuroo next to you his grip tight and finally you took a breathe and then you glanced behind him at Tsukki who was watching and then you took another breathe.
Kuroo helped you to your feet before he led you to a chair off on the side of the gym so hopefully no stray balls would hit you. Once he checked you were okay he went back to his team.
When Karasuno was done with there practice Tsukishima made his way to you. He kneeled down to your level and took your hand in his while you still were trying to regain more breathes. “You’re bleeding.” He just noticed it when he went to rub your arm “what happened?”
“I fell outside the gym.” You explained and he almost laughed before he heard a call out for a stray ball. Your eyes widened when you saw it coming towards you but before it could hit Tsukishima held his arm out and the ball hit him hard before rolling away.
“Tsukishima!” His coach called for him but he wanted to stay with you. When you noticed this you pushed him slightly.
“Thank you for stopping the ball but please go before I get you in trouble” he complied but kept his eye on you the rest of practice. You were definitely having a bad day.
Even as the practices were ending that day you thought It’d get better. It did not. While you were walking to leave a ball someone was using rolled in front of you as soon as you took a step and tripped you. You fell flat on your face.
“Just let me die here.” You sighed after you turned to lay on your back.
“Ah! Y/n-San I’m so sorry!” Inouka called out to you but you made no move to get up. You just waved your hand from where you were as if telling him it was okay.
“Why the hell is this happening to me right now?” You asked yourself, looking up at the lights above you. Your entire being just hurt and you just wanted to leave now.
That is until someone knelt down beside you and then another person on the other side of you. “You have really bad luck today.” Kuroo pointed out and Tsukishima hummed in agreement. “Come on, you just have to keep score for us tonight.”
Kuroo patted your arm lightly before he stood up to leave. Tsukishima watched him go before looking back down at you. “Are you okay?” He seemed genuinely concerned and you were grateful for him.
“Help me up please.” You finally said and he nodded. He stood back up, offering you his hand and you grabbed it. You both ignored the flutter when your hand connected.
He pulled you up and almost asked you if you were okay again but decided against it. He didn’t let go of your hand as he walked with you to the other gym though and you figured it was to comfort you in some way.
You really thought that the night was gonna turn around then. After the two of you got to the gym you went straight for the seat next to the score board.
You were grateful after the day you just had to just sit and relax. But it seemed you jinxed yourself. About 40 minutes into there practice While you were focused watching them play Kuroo spiked a ball and it bounced off the ground at an angle headed straight for you. “Y/n!” He yelled but was to late. Before you could move the ball hit you straight in the face.
They all went silent as the ball fell to the ground and rolled away. You were so silent that they all were scared themselves. Then your nose started bleeding and you stood up, wiping it away with your arm. “I think I’m gonna go get dinner.”
“O-okay” Kuroo said, watching you leave.
“I’ll go with her.” Tsukishima decided, leaving the others behind to walk you to dinner. The others looked at each other and nodded in agreement without even having to say anything they decided to end the practice.
“Are you okay?” Tsukki asked after a moment. You only nodded silently and he took that as you not wanting to talk so instead he gently grabbed your hand in his, intertwining your fingers. And that was more then enough to put you at ease.
When you both got to the cafeteria you got your food and sat down in silence. The redness on your face did raise eyebrows though but Tsukishima shook his head at anyone who even tried to ask.
You were quiet the entire dinner and were about to leave but as soon as you stood up and turned around you ran into someone, who of course had a tray full of food. Hinata was panicking when he ran into you and immediately started apologizing.
“Hinata-San!” He jumped when you yelled and reluctantly looked up at you expecting anger but then his eyes widened upon seeing you trying not to cry out of frustration. “It’s okay”
All the conversations stopped as you looked down at the only clean shirt you had that was now ruined. Not to mention your skin was covered in the food as well. “Is there anyone here with an extra shirt?”
Tsukishima saw Kuroo about to offer you one of his before he stood up. “I have an extra one you can borrow.” And without another word he lead you out of the cafeteria.
He led you to where Karasuno was staying and you waited by the door as he rummaged through his bag for the shirt. When he found it he handed it to you and walked you to the bathroom. “Take a shower I’ll wait out here for you.”
Usually you would’ve blushed at the thought but this time you only nodded and did exactly as he said. When you got out you put on his shirt which was obviously bigger on you. It was comforting though.
“It’s soft.” You said to yourself and it almost made you forget about everything that had happened that day. When you walked out of the bathroom awhile later he was, as he said, waiting for you.
He was sitting on the staircase when you came out and when his eyes landed on you immediately his cheeks turned red. “Thank you for letting me borrow your shirt.” You were quiet but he could hear you clear as day.
“Come on.” He said as he stood up and grabbed your hand, leading you somewhere. “Don’t ask where you’ll know when we get there.” It was like he could read your mind.
Where he took you was the hill that he and his team had to run up so many times. He wasn’t worried about anyone being here, everyone was either eating or getting ready for bed.
You both sat down next to each other, he still held onto your hand. You eventually laid your head on his shoulder. “It’s been a really rough day.” You finally said
“How are you feeling after getting hit so many times?” You looked up at him almost expecting him to be joking but he was serious.
“I’m fine now.”
The two of you went back to silence. He glanced down at his shirt on you and couldn’t help but smile. “Can I tell you something?”
Hm?”
“I like my shirt on you.” You definitely weren’t expecting that from him. You sat up to look at him and when you saw his blushing face you smiled before it turned into a smirk.
“Then I think I’ll keep it” you said and he gaped at you.
“That’s not what I meant.”
“That sucks it’s mine now.”
“I didn’t say you could.”
“You never said I couldn’t.”
“Yes I did.”
“I’m ignoring you.” Tsukishima narrowed his eyes at you before letting go of your hand and grabbing at your waist. “Wait! Tsukishima-San!”
Tsukishima smirked as you started laughing while he tickled you without any mercy. “I-I’m sorry I’ll give it back!” You cried trying to push him off before he finally stopped
He was basically on top of you, smiling while you finished laughing. Your laughs stopped immediately when his hand cupped your cheek and the other one held himself up above you.
“Tsukishi..ma?” You voice was a whisper, you couldn’t even ask him what was wrong when he leaned down and pressed his lips to yours.
Your eyes widened in shock but he pulled away to soon. He wanted to see your reaction but you grabbed the back of his neck and pulled him back down to you, this time to return the kiss.
Your heart felt like it skipped a beat and you didn’t even notice when he pulled his arm away from cupping your cheek to also prop it against the ground so he didn’t fall. His hand could feel his shirt against his fingertips and he smiled into the kiss.
When you pulled away you were both breathless and blushing. But you both had small smiles on your face. He sat up and so did you while you grabbed his hand again and leaned your head on his shoulder.
“I’m definitely keeping your shirt now.” He only tsked in response.
~
Bonus
“Kei what do you think about this one?” You held your phone up to his face to show him the venue and he only moved your hand away to look at you as you laid your head on his lap, you stole another shirt from him.
He rolled his eyes and looked back at the tv. He grabbed the remote to the tv and kept clicking, “it’s up to you.”
“Kei! This is our wedding! I want to make sure you like the venue!” You complained, going back to looking at places.
“Y/n we can get married on a volleyball court for all I care. I’m marrying you and that’s all I care about. So do whatever makes you happy.” You were silent as you looked up at him. You smiled, putting your phone down.
“Cold as always” you joked and he poked your side making you squirm.
“It was your choice to say yes.”
“Like hell I was gonna say no to you.” You told him and looked up at him again before you cupped his cheek.
“Hmm?” He felt you tugging him down and smirked when he saw you wanted a kiss so he moved away from your hand and you pouted. “You called me cold.”
“Kei! Kiss me damn it!” He looked down at you and smirked before he finally gave you a small kiss on the lips then went back to watching the tv while you admired him. “I love you Kei.”
“I love you too now shut up so I can watch this” you laughed but complied and ended up watching with him.

warnings: mentions of blood, and just overall wild times, swearing
Tumblr media
Asahi loves knitting sweaters because his shoulders are broad and he also loves seeing the reactions from his teammates when they get a sweater from him! He says he buys them but he doesn’t
Aone likes knitting socks because he has big feet and he loves fluffy knee high socks but his team will never know
Asahi and Aone regularly hang out and knit together! (after asahi wasnt scared of him anyways)

Aone likes to bake
Aone dressed like a polar bear because koganegawa told him to- halloween was amazing
daICHI HAS A KISS THE COOK APRON
Daichi secretly can make some kick ass steak and is amazing at grilling sorry
Okay but real talk, Kenma and Yaku swear like sailors and it scares everyone because they always whisper the most foul, insulting things under their breath. Hearing it is like seeing a cryptid
Speaking of cryptids, Fukunaga and Shibayama are THE most true crime, mythology, and mystery obsessed fanatics on the team and often fanboy about it together
Fukunaga’s obsession with moth man has gotten to an unhealthy stage
Kenma absolutely had a vampire phase and has read twilight. Only Kuroo knows and has sworn to secrecy via blood pact
Kuroo’s a musical nerd. Knows all of the lyrics to Hamilton, BMC, DEH, Heathers, Rent, Beetlejuice, Etc. Kenma considered dropping him because of it
Iwaizumi tells the worst dad jokes and Kyotani, wanting to beat him, started doing it too and it drives everyone insane
Yahaba and Matsukawa get along surprisingly well. Both are true crime freaks and bond over their forensic files obsessions
Matsukawa didn’t really like his thick eyebrows so he got one of his female friends to pluck it for him, but almost cried and gave up after the first hair. Oikawa called him a pussy for the next year
Hanamaki jokingly flirts with everyone on the team so most of them just got used to it, but it still confuses Kindaichi to the point of mental breakdown
Makki called Kyotani ‘puppy’ as a joke once and now mad dog is truly terrified of him
Kyotani’s dog absolutely ADORES Oikawa and it’s the funniest shit to the rest of the team
Mattsun and Makki play DnD and once convinced Yahaba and Kyotani to join. Kyotani kept rolling to fight everyone and Yahaba was a bard that kept rolling to seduce everyone. They kept yelling across the board so they had to kick them out
Outside of his school uniform, Goshiki specifically wears only plaid
Tendou makes little chocolates for the whole team every once in a while so they don’t think he’s scary
Semi and Shirabu once had a fistfight in an abandoned McDonald’s parking lot while Tendou filmed and Goshiki cheered them on
Everybody makes fun of Shirabu’s haircut but nobody dares to say it to his face. its gotten to the point where they say he got it done by a blind old lady
There’s a running joke about Shirabu also getting his haircut from prison but Goshiki is starting to suspect that it may not be a joke
Yamagata and Tendou are good friends with the mutual goal of collecting as much blackmail on their team as possible
Tendou loves animals generally considered to be ‘ugly’ like rats, crows, reptiles, etc.
80% of Goshiki’s playlist is shit overplayed on the radio. Him, Shirabu, Tendou, Kawanishi and Ushijima have a permanent ban from the aux cord
Nobody watches YouTube with Ushijima because he never skips the damn ads (other than tendou)
Suna once said y’all’dn’t’ve unironically and made a first year cry
Akagi once said UwU unironically and had an identity crisis.
Osamu has one of those rainbow gaming keyboards and is constantly on a discord call. Atsumu always yells weird shit in the background to embarrass him and once pretended to be him
During Seijoh group chat arguments. Hanamaki and Mattsukawa like to drop facebook minion memes in just to piss everyone off even more
mattsun and maki both have separate photo albums in their phones labelled ‘minion memes to piss everyone off’
Hinata carries a pocket knife and no one has no fucking idea why
mattsun and maki both have matching rat fursuits that look like they actually where in a sewer- they chased oikawa around
For all his talk of plant analogies and metaphors, Ushijima cant grow shit
Goshiki’s Bangs are the way they are because his favorite character was Rock Lee from Naruto
Oikawa has watched Ouran High School Host Club front to back so many times and he can quote all of Tamaki’s lines by heart -He keeps bothering Iwaizumi to “be his Haruhi, since you’re shorter than me”
Koganegawa has definitely gone as an Angry Bird for Halloween
Fukunaga has those reflective cat eyes, and he has terrified Yamamoto on several occasion
Hanamaki and Matsukawa have a teddy bear that they pretend is their child and they share custody
Suga always sprays whipped cream straight into his mouth whenever he sees a can
Nishinoya definitely bit people as a kid
Nishinoya would be the guy to wear shorts all year round and even if it's snowing, he'll insist he's not cold
Tendou is still stuck in his emo phase and would fangirl over Creepypasta with me and I appreciate that (me too buddy, me fuckin too)
Kyoutani LOOKS like he’d listen to viking death metal, but in reality he listens to Mother Mother and knows all the words to Ghosting
Sugawara would definitely encourage me to dumb shit and not stop me, and you’re all dumb for thinking he wouldn’t
KENMA IS NOT ‘uwu owo’ SHY, HE IS ‘your fucking gross’ SHY SO LITERALLY STFU
Bokuto listens to Nicki Manaj. And knows all the words. To every. Single. Song.
Ushijima for some reason knows an odd amount of 90′s-2000′s R&B and he will hum along to the songs if they come on the radio (he also loves Dolly Parton) ((he says he relates to her music))
Bokuto once ate instant ramen for an entire month
TERUSHIMA DID TRY TO FUCK A PLANT WHILE SHITFACED AND GOD I STAND BY WHAT I SAID
atsumu let’s you put makeup on him and pretends to eat the brushes (do yk what im talking about- like n o m)
tendou ran for school president as a joke but actually won
i 100% believe that all of karasuno’s third years apologize when they bump into inanimate objects, but when suga is really tired or stressed out, he’ll yell at them instead.
Tanaka, Nishinoya, and Taketora have a group chat called "Bros who want sum hoes" and they send each other hypebeast memes and shit
Sugawara knows how to do a bunch of flexible shit because he sometimes goes to yoga with daichi and asahi's moms, its fucking hilarious
tanaka and noya both breakdance- they work as a team and sometimes go to tokyo for underground competitions- saeko drives them
Daichi knows a little ballet- nobody other than Kiyoko knows because they saw each other at the ballet class and had to work together- dont tell tanaka and noya that he lifted her though
Osamu once put glitter on Atsumu's pillow- he still finds hot pink glitter on shit
kita knits and crochets with his grandma
Kita's grandma knows everyone's names because kita talks shit bout them, her favorite is Aran
Kuroo has burnt his eyebrows off doing an experiment. His goggles didn't cover all his brows,,, so he just showed up to practice like that. No eyebrows and a chemical burn
kenma has played all kinds of games, but he was dared to play corpse party by kuroo. He wasn't scared because of the gore, he was thinking about the trauma the characters went through. Punched kuroo the next day because that game was fucked up
Lev isn't a strong swimmer, so he often grabs people by the head to keep himself up. happened with kenma and lev couldn't walk due to the force of kenmas suprised water kicks
akaashi has those fancy pens that you have to dip in ink and they're so nice
Bokuto has and will eat pencil erasers again
Daichi once almost lost his shit at his team but instead he lost his shit at the door that decided to stub his toe on the way out of the gym. not the best thing to be found yelling to.
Yamaguchi for sure has been dragged to one of terushimas parties because he didnt wanna say no. oh and terushima has like frat boy level parties too. Yams has for sure had some wild nights and doubts anyone other than Tsukishima and the party-goers will ever know
Akaashi can actually flirt very well! He reads romance novels sometimes and has analyzed any and every book in his possession! so he's actually quite charming
Daihsou unironically posted on twitter after mika broke up with him "I still see her shadows in my room"
Mattsun and Maki run a fake oikawa account; its been going ever since twitter even started getting popular and they even started sending messages in spanish. The posts would range from "I love all my fans!" to flirting with them :) Oikawa is pissed cause the account got verified before he did and most of his fans also follow the fake oikawa. Tooru has no idea who runs it JUST IMAGINE OIKAWA JUST LIKE RANTING TO THE SEIJOH 3RD YEAR ALUMNI AND JUST "no Iwa-chan, you dont understand! they run a fake account and pretend to be me!" while makki and mattsun laugh their asses off
Oh, kenma for sure has pretended to be a girl on discord and has gotten someone to buy him stuff. after they do he says in his normal voice "fucking simp" and then hangs up and blocks the other persons discord
Yamamoto, despite his rough appearance, loves kids and has and will be a human jungle gym
suna in middle school had a game with his friends about who could make kids cry the fastest
The twins switched places back in middle school and nobody could tell because of how great they are at acting like eachother
Daichi once arrested coach ukai for public intoxication after a game :|
Daichi has arrested many people from his old volleyball team but the most memorable case was when he arrested tanaka and noya for reckless driving. poor idiots got so scared when they saw their old captains face in their mirror and started to pray
tanaka, while trying to intimidate someone, once said "You dont gotta tell me twice, i may be straight but these hands are bisexual" and he often cringes at night thinking about it
Kageyama, as a comeback to Tsukishima, said "one thing about us royalty is that we love to feast" and he also fuckin hates what he said
the third years made a cult for Kiyoko. they chant every wednesday "i'll do anything for kiyoko, she makes me go loco"
oikawas fangirls are known to be fucking rabid
yAMAMOTO AND KENMA AFTER THEIR FIGHT WERE FORCED BY KUROO TO MAKE IT UP: so they dyed their hair together
Makki and mattsun sang two trucks in front of the entire team. everyone was so confused. Makki: "twO TRUCKS HAVIN SEX!!" Mattsun: "oH yEs!"THEY'D SWITCH OFF AND HAVE LIKE CHOREOGRAPHY TOO LIKE THEY'D DO A TANGO WHILE THE SONG IS LIKE "two beer trucks, making love"
tendou once called Oikawa "mr. no-nationals" and got kicked in the shins before iwaizumi could save him
Tsukishima had a my little pony phase
you work with matsukawa at a morgue and he makes dead people jokes while you fix some dead guys face with wax and makeup he'd be like "so didnt he like,,, stick his head out of the sunroof of a moving fuckin car??" he'd be singing dumb ways to die the entire day
i feel like Kuroo has one crazy accident a year. like it might not be deadly but its fucking crazy like for example: Kuroo for sure has ridden in a shopping cart at past midnight with kenma (who pushed him down a hill) causing Kuroo to get scratched up hella well. he lied and said he spent the night with a girl and kenma fucking hated himself cause he would be the girl if that was true
Mattsun has flirted with the 4th years moms before (AS A JOKE), and because of this: he is known as “fuckin milf hunter” sometimes by the team
Warning, this next headcanon is talking about cannabis, weed, mary jane, the zoink root. so if your uncomfortable, please dont read below :)
dude i wanna get high as SHIT with Asahi
i think Asahi would be one of those mfkers who takes one hit and is gone
ASAHI ACCIDENTALLY GOING TO PRACTICE ZOINKED
IMAGINE HIM SEEING TSUKISHIMA AND JUST "he looks so judgemental,,, im scared"
OR LIKE A MAD DAICHI AND JUST "i'm gonna,,, im gonna go jump out the window now"
Noya and Tanaka would know tho, i feel like they'd have a 6th sense when it comes to weed. they probably get some from Saeko cause she'd rather they do it in the house. they'd smell asahi like fucking dogs and just so,,, big guy had fun without us huh?
DAICHI WOULD KNOW ABOUT ASAHI BEING ZOINKED, SMASH HIS FACE INTO THE WALL, TURN AROUND WITH A RED MARK ON HIS FOREHEAD AND WITH A BEAMING SMILE AND FEUX ENTHUSIASM SAY: "YOSH, LETS WARM UP!"

hushed feelings // kuroo tetsuroo x reader
Author’s Note: Alright, normally I’d write something flirty for my favorite boi Tetsu but I’ve been feeling down lately and I really craved for some Soulmate AU so here we have it. Hope ya’ll like this~
Word count: 4376
Pairing: Kuroo Tetsuroo x Depressed! Reader [Soulmate AU]
Warnings: depressive themes, angst, mentions of drugs, abusive households, wow this is dark (fluffy end?)
Tumblr media
Ever since Kuroo Tetsuro could remember walking, he had been certain that he had no soulmate.
It wasn’t because he didn’t believe in them, or because he didn’t like the idea of them, Kuroo never really held any malice toward the idea or principle of soulmates—it’s just that unlike the rest of the population, he just couldn’t feel them.
It is said that soulmates can feel each other’s deepest feelings—especially when it got extreme. For instance, extreme joy or sorrow, or anger or jealousy, could be instantly recognized by the other—and it is only when the soulmates touch skin-to-skin for the first time does this ‘stop’ or in other words, sync together. It was perhaps the universe’s way of saying ‘you’re not alone’ or a mockery from the universe saying, ‘you’re not alone, but you’re never going to find them’.
However, for Kuroo, things were different. People usually start feeling their better half’s emotions by the time they’re 10 or 11 years old. Sometimes, it can take up to when a person reaches 15 or 16. Kuroo was currently 17 years old. And not once in his entire life did he feel someone else’s emotions. He wondered if the person had some kind of mental disorder where they can’t process or feel extreme emotions; he wondered if the other person could feel his own emotions—feelings of joy or anger, because he was certain that he had moments when he couldn’t contain himself.
On most days, Kuroo felt absolutely alone—wondering if he was one of the several sad folk that’s born without a soulmate, because he was just meant to dig through the earth by himself.
However, he wasn’t the sort to feel unhappy over something like this. At least, not externally. He’d notice when Yaku would walk into the gym feeling rather obliviously happy or when Kenma just felt lower than usual—and he’d think of how each of these people have someone waiting for them, to meet one day. On most days, he just felt anger—over everything, wondering if this entire soulmate fiasco was unfair; not allowing people to meet whoever they wanted, fall in love with no strings attached. The complications of the universe angered him, but the helplessness made it worse.
Walking into practice one evening, he noticed his team huddled over the corner—around something. There were a bunch of girls and a crying Yamamoto, standing in the distance. Kuroo blinked before walking over there, curious as to what had occurred.
He saw you, laying there, unconscious.
“What—” Kuroo’s face contorted into that of extreme panic, then turning to Yamamoto, he waited, “—happened?
“I swear! I didn’t see her! It was as if she wasn’t even there! I would never spike on a girl on purpose!”
That much is true, Kuroo thought before looking at you, peacefully out of it, before sighing and picking you up. As captain, and even if this had never happened before, he had to take you to the nurse. What were you doing in the gym all alone? And why hadn’t anyone noticed you?
Shooting Kenma a look, the dyed haired boy nodded once before ushering Yamamoto out of the way. Kuroo now focused entirely on you, and rushed to the nurse. You were breathing (and you looked like you were asleep, strange as it was). Kuroo reached the nurse’s office rather quickly, since it was after school hours. Upon taking a mere glance at you, the nurse cringed before slapping her own forehead.
Kuroo blinked.
“Does she come here often?” He asked, smirking.
“You won’t believe it,” the nurse pointed to the lone bed and Kuroo followed, “It’s like she lives here.”
Kuroo chuckled before noticing you slowly waking up, wanting to sit this down and ask what you were doing in the gym in the first place. Apart from giving Yamamoto a scare for his life, Kuroo thought, unaware of the smirk sitting on his face.
“The face you’re making is creepy, senpai.”
Kuroo blinked before noticing you, staring at him, practically emotionlessly. Smirking, Kuroo leaned forward before blinking at you, filtering the questions in his head.
“What were you doing in the gym, kouhai-chan? Yamamoto’s never going to live down hitting you with the ball—”
“I followed a cat, is all.”
It was strange, Kuroo thought, of how casual your words were. It was as if you made no effort to communicate, your eyes were fixed at him and he was sure that he had your attention, but it wasn’t in any other way apart from when you’re reading a book or crossing the road. Kuroo noticed the lack of movement on your eyebrows, of how... emotionless you presented yourself as. It was honestly...
...really creepy.
“Uh,” He had to get back to practice. “I’ll make sure that the cat is fine.”
“I’m sorry for disrupting practice,” Kuroo paused before looking at you again, “I might not look it, but I mean it.”
You were right, you did not look like you meant it. But you were looking straight into his eyes that he couldn’t look away and his heart was screaming that you meant what you said. Shooting you a grin, Kuroo raised a thumb up to you, to which you merely just blinked—and walked out of the room.
A second later, he felt it; Kuroo paused, his eyes widening a tad bit slowly and his pace slowed accordingly. A sadness that crept into his system, almost as if it was too shy to come to him entirely. It was the sort of sadness that you knew you were going to feel eventually, but chose not to be entirely ready for its arrival. It felt as if he was out of breath at that second, feeling for the first time what his soulmate was feeling, a sadness that was scared to let him know that they were there. A hand shot to his chest, where the emotions felt concentrated most, and he stood there, confused the whole time.
     “What the...”
Why now after so many years? And why did it feel like it wasn’t the first time? Why did Kuroo feel like he had felt what this person was feeling for years, but had not recognized it? Why did it feel so familiar yet alien?
You walked out of the nurse’s room and saw him there, frozen. You bit your lower lip before rushing out, trying to suppress whatever it was that you were feeling at least until you got home.
*
“I felt my soulmate’s emotions for the first time today!” Kuroo said, grinning hopelessly before noticing Yaku roll his eyes.
“Oh! I thought you didn’t have a soulmate?” Lev asked, genuinely surprised.
     “Shut it.” Kuroo snapped, grimly.
“What were they feeling?” Kenma was the one to ask, knocking Kuroo out of his stupor.
“It was the weirdest sort of sadness I’ve ever felt in my life. As if she saw a dress she couldn’t buy and was crying for it from outside the window.”
“That actually sounds cute.” Yaku mused, blinking.
Scoffing, the scheming captain had had enough of the soulmate talk—he was certain that if he started to feel them now, then it was only about time before he got to actually feel more of what they were feeling; continuing with practice, the entire team couldn’t even tell if Kuroo was distracted, yet he was. All he could think about was how familiar it felt to have felt this person’s emotions for the first time. It was unnatural.
While leaving, Kenma and Kuroo waved goodbye to the rest of the team. Kuroo suggested they go get something to eat first, but Kenma had other things to do—which made the taller male roll his eyes at the mere thought.
“Ah,” Kuroo said, his hand flying to where his heart was located, “There it is again, Kenma.”
     “There what is?”
“That weird sadness,” Kuroo mused, “It’s like she’s calling out to me! I mean, after all these years of not feeling anything, I’ve been feeling latently sad all evening today. Maybe she just wants a hug.”
“You don’t know who this person is, Kuroo. Give it a break.”
Kuroo wanted to scoff at his friend but paused when he actually felt the feeling intensify. He felt nauseous suddenly, and the intense need to cry—scream, if it would help. It was as if someone was stepping on his heart and all he wanted to do was cry—he could only wonder what his soulmate was actually feeling at that second. Shaking his heart, he attempted to cover it up for there was nothing he could do but ponder over what could have caused this sudden burst of sadness, yet, there was a part of him that began to think of why now—and not before?
A moment later, Kuroo noticed you a bit ahead, and decided to speak to you to take his mind off the growing ache in his chest. Kenma wanted no part of Kuroo’s plan, so he stuck to playing his game as Kuroo rushed over and approached you. Running over to you, (who was considerably shorter when compared to his giant stature), Kuroo tapped your shoulder and had you turn around only to have his breath stuck in his throat as tears poured out of your eyes like dew drops off a fresh leaf.
     “S-Senpai?”
He paused, feeling the pain in his chest grow. Kuroo knew that he could tell with one glance, one look, one simple instant. It was your eyes. Despite the tears streaming down your face, they were still dark-rimmed, haunted, and sad. Most of all though, they were familiar. The fact that you had been a stranger up until that point changed nothing at all. He'd spent summers and winters picturing those same eyes—happy, angry, scared, lost, confused—staring back at him. He would have known them anywhere.
     “It’s you.”
You quickly wiped your tears away and tried to bolt out of there, but Kuroo grabbed your wrist and halted you to the ground. Kenma noticed what was happening a few feet ahead but paused in his steps, seeing the stern look on his friend’s face. The girl beside him was crying, and something told him that it had a lot to do with how Kuroo had been feeling all evening.
     “I know it’s you—”
“Let go of me, you don’t know what you’re—”
     “Hey,”
He didn’t know why he was pleading. He had felt her existence just that day, it felt too unreal to even fight for. But, seeing her cry turned his insides around. There was something strange going on, and he really, really wanted to know what it was.
“Why does this... Why does this feel—”
“I don’t want any part of this, senpai. I don’t—”
Kuroo raised his eyebrows, “Wait, you don’t want a soulmate?”
You looked up at the black haired male before frowning, “No. No, I don’t want a soulmate. I’ve never wanted a soulmate! That’s why I’ve been taking these suppressants to—”
Your eyes widened and you slapped your mouth shut. Kuroo’s grip on your arm loosened.
“Did you... Did you know it was me?”
You sniffed before looking away from him. Nodding once, you hoped to all hell that he would drop it.
     “How long?”
     “Why does it matter—”
“For how long have you known, kouhai-chan?”
You’ve never heard him speak so callously before, but he had lost the amount of patience he had within him.
You could now feel his anger. The void in his chest was beginning to fill with anger. Quiet, defeated anger that guaranteed him the right to his hurt, that believed no one could possibly understand that hurt—no one, except you—who was giving it to him. You felt another burst of sorrow hit the back of your throat, but you were sure as hell not going to lose it in front of him.
“I...” You were afraid of doing a great many things but, “I knew since a few days.”
What you were most afraid of was lying. And here you had told the biggest lie that could potentially destroy something before it even began. With that, Kuroo let go of your hand and walked away, you were unsure if he was ignoring you or if he was hurt, but you could feel what he was feeling—and it wasn’t pleasant. You wanted to stop him and explain, but you knew that there was no point to it. Biting your lower lip, you walked home, uninterrupted.
“What did she say?” Kenma asked, staring at his friend’s face.
Kuroo wasn’t sullen, he was angry. And Kenma noticed it right away. Kuroo’s anger wasn’t loud, it was quiet, seething and potentially could destroy his mental health more than any other emotion. Kuroo’s anger was liquid fire, soothing to look at yet scorching hot.
     “It’s nothing.”
Kenma knew it wasn’t nothing, but there was no way he’d get his friend to talk about it right away. This was the sort of thing that would take time, yet he wondered what you had done that could have driven him to the edge like this.
When you reached home, there was no one there. No one would be, your parents were always out—it was unusual if they were home. Your elder brother was in college in the States, and here you were—alone, paranoid and heartbroken. Your mother had been entirely against the idea of soulmates, calling it primitive and restricting, and while you could see her point, it was always a matter of personal interest for you. You always wondered who your soulmate was, you always wondered what it would be like to meet your significant other, someone you could reach so emotionally.
Your mother had not met her soulmate. Your parents were not soulmates to begin with, yet there you were. A ‘happy’ family, or so you’d like to call it. Your mother had been giving you suppressants ever since you were young, so as to avoid letting your soulmate feel whatever it was that you were feeling; however, like the doctor had warned, the pills had an adverse effect on your mental wellbeing. On most days, you felt absolutely nothing. On most days, you realized that you had to carry this feeling around, pocketing it with you because normal life went on—regardless of how broken you felt. The pills were slowly eating away your mind yet because you couldn’t say a word in edgewise with your mother, you strove along, like a puppet, doing as she demands because it was the same case with your brother but he luckily got away.
At heart, you have always been a coper; or that’s what you called yourself secretly. You've mostly been able to walk around with your wounds safely hidden, and you've always stored up your deep depressive episodes for the weeks off when there was time to have an abbreviated version of a complete breakdown. But in the end, you'd be able to get up and on with it, could always do what little must be done to scratch by.
It was not until a few months ago did things start to change.
You’d always feel what your soulmate was feeling. Episodes of absolute elation and frustration sometimes—this person had their shit together. You felt it for the first time when you were 9 years old, a foreboding sorrow that you could relate to losing a parent or a pet; you wondered if this person lost someone special to them at such a young age, or if they were young at all—you’d never know. After that, you mostly felt hesitance and the need to feel happy again directed from them; you slowly felt this person begin to heal, and feel joy, learn how to deal with their own emotions and you wondered if they ever thought of the possibility of you somewhere.
You kept your soulmate’s emotions to yourself because they were special to you. Despite what your mother said, despite what you were asked to believe, your heart yearned for someone to hold you, tell you that it was okay, to give you space to be yourself—yet, nowadays, it felt like you were asking for too much.
A few months ago, you saw Kuroo Tetsuroo for the first time. He was laughing at his friend in the corridor and the joy you felt was in sync with his—there was no doubt about it. He was your soulmate.
You didn’t want to be a stalker, yet you couldn’t avoid trying to see what he was doing, trying to learn what he was like, what his hobbies were—and when you discovered that he was the captain of the Volleyball team in your school, also the best friend of one of your classmates, you were even more curious.
You wondered if he ever felt your absence; and if he could ever feel your yearning, he wondered if it could mean anything.
That day, you were at the gym not because you followed a cat. It was simply because you wanted to see him. It was no crush, you weren’t that type of schoolgirl, you merely wanted to see what he played like—having been afraid all along to witness him in action. However, you weren’t noticed by anyone and perhaps that wasn’t a good thing at all since the ball hit you in the back of your head and sent you to the ground.
That was how you met your soulmate. And singlehandedly destroyed any prospect of being with him or learning more about him.
As days passed, you felt Kuroo’s rage and confusion—the simple minded betrayal that anyone would feel after an episode like that had occurred. You wouldn’t stop taking the supplements, and your heart was too scared to take a risk to go against what your mother had ordered you to do. Yet, feeling his emotions day in and day were was starting to exhaust you, and the growing guilt left you breathless everyday.
You turned to the side in the corridor, bumping into someone. You always hid when trying to take the supplements, but this was unexpected. In front of you was your classmate, Kenma, who was also Kuroo’s best friend. Your eyes widened and you knew he saw the pills in your hand.
     “Are those supplements?”
You were quiet, hands shaking, unable to say a word.
     “Why are you doing that?”
I can’t not, you thought, but you knew you couldn’t say.
     “You’re hurting him.”
Tears filled your eyes, and you nodded because you knew. You knew how much you were hurting him, you didn’t need someone to come and tell you to your face that what you were doing was wrong.
“I know...” You said, whispering. Kenma blinked.
“I know I’m hurting him, but I can’t not do this.”
“What do you mean? Of course you can. Just...” Kenma placed a hand at the back of his neck, “Just pretend that you’re taking them if someone’s making you.”
The thought of lying to your mother did cross your mind, but you weren’t sure. You were scared that she would catch you, you were scared that she would find out and punish you. You were technically scared of all the hypotheticals because the idea scared you to your very core.
“You can’t be scared all the time,” His voice was soft, like a lullaby, “If you really want this, you should take it.”
You gasped, but biting your lip and clutching the box of pills harder. You looked at Kenma once and nodded, before walking away briskly. As you passed the dry waste bin, you threw the box of pills inside and headed to class.
*
Kuroo woke up with tears in his eyes.
His eyes then widened before he wiped them away, scrunching his eyebrows as he tried to think of whether he had a nightmare. He instantly thought of you, because there was no other explanation. Did she forget to take her pills? He thought, but his heart was wrenching at the thought of what you were feeling right then.
Is this why you were taking the pills? Because if you didn’t, all you felt was sadness.
He headed to school with Kenma, quiet the entire way. It was very much unlike him, Kuroo wasn’t used to being so out of character. The feeling of heaviness grew in his chest, but he felt bits and of other emotions as well. Panic, anxiety, and fear—what the hell was going on with your mind?
“Oi, Kenma,” Kuroo called out just as they reached school. “Is she in your class?”
Kenma nodded. “Name’s (l/n) (y/n).”
What the hell are you feeling? Kuroo almost blacked out with how heavy your emotions were.
     “Is it too much?”
Kuroo didn’t know how to answer that question. He stayed quiet, only intended to meet with you during lunch, force you to talk—because this was driving him insane. He only wondered how the hell you were living all these years, by yourself, bottling all of this deep-rooted heaviness inside. He felt angry for not being called in on this, because even if he wasn’t sure if he could have helped, Kuroo was angry because he was not given a chance.
During lunch, he noticed you walk out of class but he didn’t give you a second to explain as he guided you up to the roof. There were others there, but Kuroo always knew to find a spot that no one else could see.
You stared at him with wide eyes and he felt the growing anxiety bottle in your chest. He sighed.
“(l/n)-chan,” He said, rubbing the back of his neck, “What’s going on? You didn’t take those—”
     “I stopped.”
He blinked, “How come?”
“I... I'm living under water, senpai. Everything seems slow and far away. I know there's a world up there, a sunlit quick world where time runs like dry sand through an hourglass, but down here, where I am, air and sound and time and feeling are thick and dense,”
He didn’t understand you. You then showed him the pills and continued,
“My parents are not soulmates. My mother started giving me these pills ever since I felt the first emotion from your end. Ever since I knew you were there, living and breathing and existing. I... If it weren’t for your friend, I...”
“That’s why I barely felt anything from you. You were... Damn, that’s...” He didn’t know what to say.
Leaning down to your stature, Kuroo’s face was inches away from yours. You were staring at him with wide eyes, as you watched him smirk slowly, or maybe that was how he smiled—whatever it was, it was making you feel warm inside.
“Let’s try to get better, then, yeah?”
     “What?”
He hummed before leaning back and standing straight again, “From the looks of it, you’re feeling this way because you’ve lived your whole life unable to feel at all. Come to a few of my games, my team’s gonna show you an array of colorful emotions. Pick whatever you want.”
You didn’t know if he was joking, “Kuroo-senpai—”
“I’m not joking, (l/n)-chan. Yeah, I get that we’re soulmates, but I want to get to know you. And to do that, we need to take this away—” He pressed your nose and chuckled, “—and get to know me while we do this.”
     “I... I don’t—”
“And someday, we’ll be what we have to be. It’s sad about your parents, but if they’re happy, then it’s great. I won’t say what your mother did was right or wrong, but you have to decide what you want to do.”
You took a deep breath.
“Kuroo-san,” He looked at you, earnestly, yet there was a hint of mischief in those eyes, “Someday, we’ll run into each other again, I know it. Maybe I’ll be older and smarter and just plain better. If that happens, that’s when I’ll deserve you. But now, at this moment, you can’t hook your boat to mine, because I’m liable to sink us both.”
Kuroo gave you a soft smile before nodding. Inching forward, he kissed you squarely on the forehead and ruffled your hair.
“Remember, I’ll feel what you feel, (l/n)-chan!”
You smiled softly to yourself.
*
Kuroo woke up that morning, feeling nothing but pure satisfaction. A smile streaked across his lips when he thought of you—having been years since he had seen you, and noticed how well you were doing. He appreciated your strong desire to not keep in touch, and that left him wondering what you were doing and if you were still in Tokyo. Yawning, Kuroo stepped out of his house, fully intending to take out the trash that one Sunday morning.
Kuroo had texted him saying he had plans—he had met his soulmate last winter, and apparently the two of them were going to some gaming thing.
Kuroo was happy, generally speaking. Sure, he missed the touch of a person on odd days, unable to find it in him to see anyone romantically, knowing you existed. He didn’t blame you—he wished well for you, wanting to give the universe a chance to scheme something this time around. As he was putting the trash in the bin, scratching the back of his bed head, Kuroo felt a sudden jolt of... what was this feeling? The feeling you get when you’re in a rollercoaster?
Is she in a theme park somewhere? He thought before turning around, and freezing.
There you were, standing in front of him, in the cold winter air of Tokyo, wrapped up in a thousand sweaters. Your face was a tad bit red, and your smile was a tad bit long. Kuroo felt warmth wash over his features. Not a word. No word.
     “Kuroo-senpai—”
He rushed toward you, feeling nothing but joy. Wrapping his arms around you, Kuroo breathed into your scent. Your hair tickled his chin and he felt your hands crawl to his back.
“I don’t normally hug strangers,” Kuroo teased, “But I’ll make an exception for you.”
“I’m sorry I took so long.”
He chuckled. “I barely felt the time go by—”
“I felt your longing for me, please don’t lie, senpai.”
He definitely couldn’t wait to get to know you.

Just a little something for my favorite two characters, as of the past few weeks. Everyone in Haikyuu is a sweetheart, but I never could resist the dynamic between an apathetic introvert and his determined friend.
TW: Toxic Relationships, Physical Intimidation, Delusional Mindsets and Slight Dehumanization.
~
It was for the good of the team.
You didn’t have to do anything you didn’t want to.
Kuroo would be there to help, every step of the way.
You tried to repeat your mantra, to bite your cheek and remember how sweetly he’d said it, how shy Kenma had looked, how reassuring Kuroo’s presence had been, at first. It was cute, like a plot out of some teenage girl’s daydreams, Nekoma’s star-athlete too distracted by his first crush to play at his best but hindered by his own tortuously introverted nature. You laughed when Kuroo approached you on his friend’s behalf, and you’d been the one to hold Kenma’s hand and kiss his cheek during your first date, and the second, and the tenth. It was all he could do to reciprocate, back then.
Now, though, that fantasy seemed more like a nightmare.
“I just think there’s something wrong.” Kenma didn’t stutter, anymore, nor did his eyes ever seem to leave yours. He was calculated, cold, watching you like a predator ready to corner its bleeding, thrashing prey. You could usually write it off, turn and move out of his prying gaze, but the slightest movement would only press you further into Kuroo’s chest, cause his arms to wrap tighter around your waist, bring you closer to the man who’d gotten you into this mess in the first place. Even after all his promises of comfort and patience, Kuroo hadn’t been gentle when he grabbed you, barely waiting for the final bell to ring before dragging to a less populated stairwell and never stopping to explain himself. If how rough he’d been upset Kenma, you couldn’t tell, your boyfriend simply standing in front of you passively. Whether he was unbothered or just uncaring, you couldn’t tell. “(Y/n) looks scared of me, Tetsuro. Nothing I say seems to help.”
You could help but grit your teeth, more out of frustration than anger. “I told you, I just need some time--”
“It’s ‘cause you’re creepy,” Kuroo interrupted, purposefully, speaking over you. His right arm dug into your diaphragm, making it hard for you to breathe, the slight pressure secondary to just how suffocating the change felt. He’d always been like that, looming over the two of you, making it hard to ever feel like you were alone with Kenma. Just the mention of his name was enough to put you on edge, these days. “The poor thing probably thinks you care about a digital farm more than you care about them,” He continued, pulling you out of your thoughts with a dismissive tone. You frowned, squaring your shoulders and planting your heel firmly in his foot, but Kuroo only rolled his eyes, starting to chuckle when Kenma didn’t deny it. “Communication is key. What makes you think they’re so terrified?”
“It’s… it’s not one thing.” There was a hint of emotion, this time, if only in the way he suddenly seemed so focused on the floor. The movement was slow, hesitant, but his arms were draped over your shoulders soon enough, Kenma resting his head gingerly against your shoulder. “Relationships are just hard. I want to spend more time together, but I’ve always got practices and tournaments, and (Y/n) has these… friends, they’re all too loud, and they’re all busy. We get into a fight whenever I do the smart thing and send them away.” He sighed, shaking his head, and you grimaced at the memory. “I don’t want to have to share so often.”
You didn’t notice when one of Kuroo’s hands left your side, coming up to pry open your lips without a hint of reluctance. Two thin fingers forced themselves into the corner of your mouth, distorting your dread into some fucked-up smile, the expression too wide and too tight and too sudden to be anything but unpleasant. You flinched when he started to speak, but you didn’t dare try to bite him. It’d only resulted in a new bruise and a lecture, last time. “And you don’t need to! We’ll tell off those bitches together, it’ll be fun!” There was another tug, this one bordering on painful, tears forming in your eyes before you could blink them away. “And your sweetheart will have lots of time for you, afterward. It’ll be one of my greatest plans yet!”
Kuroo pulled away, and you took the opportunity to struggle, attempting to drive your elbow into his ribs or kick at his legs or do something that would loosen his grip. “No, no,” You sputtered uselessly, the panic setting in as quickly as the fear did, your upcoming isolation mixing terribly with all the helplessness Kuroo always instilled in you, forming a dark, spiraling concoction you couldn’t seem to swallow down. “Please, don’t make anyone hate me. I’ll do whatever you want me to, but don’t bring them into this. No one else has to know!”
Kenma was silent, for a moment, pausing and perking up to better stare at you. He didn’t say anything, only scanning over you, the barest hints of relief ghosting over its features as he turned towards Kuroo. You wouldn’t have noticed, if you weren’t so used to looking for reactions so small. “...I’d like that. Do you think Yamamoto would be willing to help?”
Kuroo grinned, opening his mouth to respond, but a door opened from the floor below before he could, footsteps slowly approaching, but approaching all the same. There was a shrug, a shove, letting you stumble away as Kuroo stretched, never bothering to give you a second glance once you were separated from Kenma. “I’ll ask after practice. You’ll have to toss him a few extra balls, today.”
With that, he was gone, motioning for Kenma to follow as he started towards the gym. You considered running, making a break for it and promising to never let yourself be alone with either of those monsters, but Kenma was clinging to your side before you had the chance to move. He wasn’t strong in any sense of the word, you could get away if you tried, but those eyes kept you in place without the need for physical restraints. Always watching, always waiting for an opportunity to attack. “You’re coming too, right?” He asked, calmly. You weren’t sure what else you expected. “I’ve been practicing something new, I want you to see it.”
All you could think to do was nod, staring at anything but Kenma. You could’ve gotten away from him, you could’ve screamed and fought and broken up with him again, but it would’ve been pointless in a day or two.
Kuroo said he would be there every step of the way, after all.

What if?
Alright here we have a cross over between two animes:
Katekyo hitman reborn and Inazuma eleven (go)!
It's just a short scenario or scenes each of them has a plot, free to request!
But I'll include only OCS
Females only, unless it's a girl character X oc boy or a male reader
If you wanna an X reader text me in private message and I'll write one for you (sure if I'm not tired up with something)
The first thing popes in my head is this plot:
When he turns to a baby
You were with him doing (your favourite hobby). But he bothered you
So You accidentally you wished that he was a child letting you in peace, you didn't mean it literally but for your bad luck a stalking witch up in a cloud☁️ heard you.and make your wish true!
So how will you react at this ?and will he be like you wished or over control?
We'll see some reaction of some ocs I know
.
.
.
Let's start with Inazuma eleven go :
Character: matsukaze tenma
Oc:oki hina
Scenario:
he started crying when he saw a tall woman with long orange hair grabbed in a ponytail
You turned to him to see if something is wrong or to be more clear from where this noise come from?
It's impossible to have a baby (yet) you get married just few weeks ago
You wondered if it's a son/daughter's nightbors
(I forgot to mention that these scenarios are played in an island ^^')
So you looked around but what get your attention is the touch of a tiny grab
Tenma was grabbing barely a piece of your blue sky dress
You smiled at him and bent down ,
Holding his little body and pull toward you ,
Wiping away his shower tears, he looked at you confused,
You were also wondering how he turned to a baby in a snap of seconds?
He can't know neither you do
"are you hungry?" You asked
he can't answer
But you know in another way
He can't talk but he acts do
He was licking his index finger
His saliva rolling down his tiny hand
You put him on a sofa and go to bring him food
When you came back
He was still there sitting like an angel
He wasn't noisy or troublesome
You pull the spoon to his mouth full of fruity yogort
He didn't hesitate and open his mouth
You feed him till he pulled the spoon away
Like any baby his face was a mess
You took a napkin and clean his face carefully
He giggled
Now his belly is full
He pointed at a soccer ball
You look toward where he pointed
You get it
He want to play football!
You took him to the garden of your house and start playing
You couldn't imagine passing your day with a cute child like him
And still you miss his elder version,
Your caring,sweet,protective , cheerful man
Till the sunset
You forgot about time
When you realized it
You took his hand to enter your house
At your surprise you felt a large soft hand holding yours
You turned to see him in his usual form
You happily hugged him
Can't help but to drop some tears from happiness
Glad that your precious husband is back!
Character: tsurugi kyousuke
Oc:hyuga nanami
Scenario:
You were busy doing your hobby till you noticed some strange doodles on the wall
You thought it was your imagination but you believed it once you saw it whole the hall way
Who in the earth would do this?
Besides where is your lazy husband?
As his usual ,when something like this happen he would yell
But silence was the only thing claiming the house
You walked up the stairs to check up
Holding a knife in your hand
Who knows maybe a thief is somewhere in your house.
You can expect anything!
Once you unlocked the door of your shared bedroom
You saw what you didn't expected it to happen
Ever!
Your lazy husband turned to a baby boy
Messing up the room
Either the walls and floors didn't escaped from his sketches
You were about to yell at him but you couldn't resist at his cuteness
You bent to see what he is doing
He drew you and him with a red heart besides of it
"aww you're so cute" you said while you hugged him
It's true that he is not that cold like you used to
But still it's embarrassing for him
He tried his best to escape from your lovely hugs
But you won't let this chance go away
You played with him hide and seek
He succeeded in finding you every time
Not because you are bad or anything
You were hidden well
But he did notice your moves and read your personality before
So he knows you
Really
Really
really Well!
You pouted as he found you
You give up
He set next to you yawning
You know that he tired
Then you goes to sleep as well
You passed whole the day playing with him
It was a nice day
To see another side from him
After all this time
In your sleep
He returned to his form
Holding your waist
Pulling you close to him
Wishing sweet dreams for you
Character: Saryuu evan
Oc: Matsukaze hikari
Scenario:
As you always know your husband were climbing some banana trees to make banana's cake
Again
You heard a noise outside
You rushed toward the location to find
A baby boy with banana in both hands of his
You giggled at the fact
You found him cute
Extremely cute!
You didn't hesitate to take him to home
You gave him a lot of plushies
Every plushie you have you put it around him
He frightened and start crying
You struggles
How he could cry in this situation?
The cause of his crying was silly
He didn't find his banana's gun
"ohh that's so,I should know it" you sigh and gave him the thing
Once he saw it he clapped his hands and start making noises
As if he was shooting fire at the plushies
You sweat drop
Even his child version still he likes to control and scares other
You can't help it but to play as well
The interesting thing is that he didn't shoot at you
He was protecting you
Like a charming prince
You put your hands on your red cheeks
He grabbed your hand and drag you to outside
Still a kid but he jumped out of the window like a Tarzan
How fool XD
You jumped after him to catch him
Since you found him earlier lying in the ground
But he surprised you again by saving you from falling
Yup
He turned to his original form
You hugged him tightly not letting him go
Either not letting him breath
But not for long
As you noticed it
Now to khr's characters:
Character: Yamamoto Takeshi
Oc: Reka (xanxus's sister)
Sorry idk his first name so I can't mention
You were waiting your husband Takeshi to came back from his morning training
Of course Mukuro was coach of this trainings
Every morning he would wake the males and force them to practice some sports
So they can get strong
Anyway
You were enjoying the fact he is absent you can eat anything
What your heart desires
On your way you found his baseball bat
You hold it and swing it here and there
Imagining yourself playing baseball
And Takeshi cheering you !
How sweet~
But you were interrupted by a sudden knock on the door
Hmm
Who would visit you in this time of the day?
You don't have much of guests
Since you scare nearly everyone
Except some bodies
You curiously open the door
About to say some shitty words
Till your green eyes catched a little figure Infront of you
You recognised who he was
So you wondered how that happened?
But you get it
It was your wish
It doesn't bothered you
Cause you won't be embarrassed anymore
You feed him, play with him, having a nice long day
He even helped you on cleaning dishes
Still a small idiot baseball's lover
But he was strong enough to help you
You were glad
You couldn't stop watching him walk, crowl, jumping
He was just cute and adorable
AS you wouldn't imagine it
But you get a little mad at him as he broke your things
Cut your machines
But you forgive him
He is just a child
"how can I get mad at you,who is the cutest baby?yes it's you" you poked his cheeks
Playing with his cheeks as if it's made of slim (idk how to write it correctly so don't judge me)
When you put your hand on his cheeks admiring his cute big eyes
He turned back to his normal form
Along you gasp and fall down embarrassed
Character:Hibari kyoya
Oc:Atsuki sawada
Scenario:
You enjoy decoration a lot
Even Hibari was one of your experiments
He would leave every morning to escape from you ribbons and sparkles
Gladly no one saw him or he won't be scary like he is known
Today you didn't hear him saying his usual phrase "I'll bite you to death"
It's strange .
But you heard a collide of metals
You thought it would be Mukuro
Because you know that every time they meet no way that wouldn't fight
Their desire and favourite thing they would do
You called him several times
But no response
He used to sigh and came
You saw his hibird flying around
"Hibari Hibari...is a baby"
"what?" Was all what you said
You rushed to check up on him
He was sitting next to the mini table
But in a child's size!
You put your hand on your mouth
Not believing
He is not just adorable
But this your chance to decorate his black hair without worrying if would escape
Even if he thinks to do ,he can't
Cause his tiny body can't go longer than reaching the window
He was pissed off
As he saw the red ribbons and some make up on his face
Disappointed
Is the best word that would express what he is feeling right now
He didn't cried but he bited you
Even he has small teeth
Still it hurts
You slapped him accidentally
Then he sniffed and start crying
You gasped and gave him some candies you have but still he didn't stop crying so you kissed his cheek at this time he turned back holding you tightly.

Hollowed (fic) Part Five
Fandom: Bleach
Pairing: IchiRuki
Summary: They call her a miracle, but he looks at her as if she’s normal. It scares her. Fantasy/Futuristic/Zombie kinda?AU. Read Parts One, Two, Three, and Four.
It turns out to be a Hollowed… Because of course it is.
Luckily it’s only one, and small from what the messenger describes. Still, from the way the messenger’s eyes widen while describing it, Ichigo assumes it really has been a while since these people saw one, and must’ve given the soldiers quite a drill.
But he could care less if the soldiers panicked. What he wants to know is if it’s dead.
“Y-yes sir! I saw if for myself, its eyes had clouded over, and its mouth--”
“I don’t need to hear about it.” And he really didn’t, as he could already imagine it: its yellowed fangs bared into a nasty snarl, the eight legs curled pathetically into its jet black body, its eyes peering from behind a horrific mask, milky with death.
He’s seen enough of them.
“Were there any casualties?”
“No, not that I’m aware of--”
“Aware of? What does that mean?”
“Well, all soldiers are accounted for…”
“But not civilians here?”
“If you’re worried about your friends,” Rukia calls from behind him, and the messenger straightens as if he’s forgotten she’s there-- “there’s not much to worry about. Very rarely are civilians even let outside the compound. When soldiers go out, they are often flanked and covered by the remaining at the walls. It’s all planned far out in advance. We would know about it.”
That clears a bit of Ichigo’s anxiety, but not enough.
In truth, he’s worried about his sisters. The last time they all encountered those monsters, they were even more horrifying than all the previous times before. Their village was destroyed, people left dead in the streets, their father fighting with all he had left…
Not that he’s not worried for his friends’ mental well being, but his sisters are just twelve years old: too young for any of this bullshit.
And yeah, it’s always been a part of their lives… But he’s their big brother. He’s supposed to be their protector, or at the very least comforting them.
Which is why being cooped up here in the name of a job is driving him insane.
When the bell first started clanging, a soldier ran through to tell him he was to remain here with Lady Rukia at all costs until somebody gave him further instruction. When Ichigo tried to ask when might he be given further instruction--let alone what happened--the soldier sneered.
“This is your job now,” he spat. “And an important one at that. You are never to leave Lady Rukia during your shift. As for what’s going on, you’ll be told when the information needs to be relayed to you. I recommend you stop asking questions.”
Fucking hell, he’s tired of hearing that. The guy is lucky he ran out so quickly, as Ichigo could’ve throttled him. Instead, all he could do is pace around his partitioned space like a tiger in a cage, ignoring the girl on the other side of the room who probably wouldn’t speak to him anyway.
And now, apparently, she feels inclined to butt in, all uppity and knowledgeable. He spins to face her.
“Yes, I’m worried about my friends,” he grits out his teeth. “But I’m also worried about my sisters. I’m all they have, and the last time one of those things were within such a vicinity to us it was a real fucking nightmare. Now,” he turns back to the messenger. “If you have the time, I’d really appreciate if you could go to the kitchens and relay a message to Karin and Yuzu Kuro--”
“Go to them.”
Ichigo turns incredulously back toward her, and is starting to think this twisting back and forth is getting really old. “Huh?”
“I was clear enough, fool. Go find your sisters. Take the rest of the day off.”
He nearly sputters. Is there something he’s missing here? “B-but you heard that other guy--”
“That ‘other guy’ is technically correct, in any other situation you won’t be able to leave me.” She’s got her arms crossed, with a superior look in her eye that Ichigo kind of hates but also he’s feeling hopeful about what she’s saying so he’ll just ignore it for now. “But today is your first day. I believe you’ve received basic training enough--”
“Well, I mean I didn’t really do anything--”
“Don’t be so modest, sir. You’ve done plenty.” She looks at him with raised eyebrows pointedly.
He shuts his mouth.
“Some soldiers will probably be here shortly to relieve you in any case. They always take me when this sort of occurrence happens...” she drifts softly, before her eyes suddenly shine (yes, shine) toward the messenger. “Sir there! Would you be willing to chaperone me in Sir Kurosaki’s absence, until then? I would be most appreciative of it.”
The messenger shifts, but Ichigo can see a blush rise on his cheeks. “Oh, w-well I’d be most honored, milady. But I’m afraid I’m not of military calibre to watch you. You see, I might as well be a grunt--”
“Oh, that doesn’t matter. So long as you’re a soldier, you can protect me. And don’t worry, if any of the higher ranks or even Lord Yamamoto raise questions about it, I’ll be happy to take the blame.” She smiles sweetly before turning back to Ichigo. “Thank you for your services, sir. You are dismissed.”
He blinks. “So, does that cover for me too or…?”
“What, you believe I would cover for one party in a situation and not the other? Yes, Mr. Kurosaki, you as well. Now, goodbye.” She waves him off dismissively.
While that kind of pisses him off--and it’s bizarre how fast she changed gears--he’s grateful.
---
He finds the girls perfectly safe and sound when he rushes into the kitchens. In fact, they hadn’t even heard the news of the Hollowed… Which Ichigo finds quite eery how news like that isn’t relayed to the service as quickly as the bell clangs for the military--but at the very least, he’s glad to find they’re safe and not scared.
He tries to express some sort of a game plan to them: that if he’s not able to go to them in times of danger, find Chad, or even Uryu--well, not Uryu, as he might be on the front lines--
“Relax, Ichigo.” Karin cuts him off with a gentle smirk. “We know how to take care of ourselves for this sort of thing… Or at the very least: how to not get killed. Worst case scenario, I’ve got kitchen knives here I can use.”
“Plus, they’ve got me.” Inoue steps forward from the spot she’s been quietly listening and kneading dough. She claps her floury hands together. “I know that I-I don’t look like much, Ichigo, but you can count on me to protect the girls! All this kneading is giving me some real arm strength! Not to mention when I put in my secret ingredients, that makes it even tougher!!”
She strikes a pose with her biceps flexed, and while Ichigo’s not quite sure if that’ll be enough to tear apart the creatures responsible for the near extinction of humanity, he still smiles and thanks her. He has to remember that the three in front of him are smart and very much capable of taking care of themselves.
He doesn’t really have a choice, otherwise.
---
Later that night when everyone else but the boys are asleep, he asks Uryu whether he saw the Hollowed.
“I did. In fact, one of my arrows got stuck in its putrid ribs.” He pushes his glasses up.
“I saw it as well,” Chad offers. “My boss and I were restocking the weapons on the wall while they burned the body.”
“Chad, you too? So I was the only one to miss out on the action, huh?”
“Not much action, Kurosaki. Truth be told, the military is true to its word. Pretty organized on the killing, once they got past the initial shock. I imagine they’d have a harder time with a horde of them, though.” Uryu opens his mouth to say something, but hesitates.
“What?” Ichigo eyes the look passed between Uryu and Chad. “What was wrong with it?”
“It… Had some… One of its legs was a human arm.” Uryu grinds his teeth. “Recently turned. I think… It might’ve been someone from our village.”
Ichigo prays it wasn’t anybody he knew well, let alone his dad. Trapped in a horrid body like that, slithering miserably up the mountain for fresh blood--it’d be a nightmare he can barely stomach.
But it wouldn’t matter in any case, he guesses.
A loss is a loss is a loss.
---
The next morning, he’s informed that he has to report to Yamamoto before his shift. It must be because of what happened yesterday, he realizes. The old man is pissed.
He drags himself into the office, where Yamamoto is (seemingly) calm, reading a book.
The old man smiles. “Ah, Kurosaki! Do sit. Why, you look quite uncomfortable. Are your concerns with the Hollowed yesterday? I hope your sisters were all right.”
Well, shit.
“Yeah, they were… Thanks.” Ichigo eyes the man across him, waiting for an explosion. “So… Rukia told you…?”
“Lady Rukia told me she dismissed you, yes. Oh dear, you thought I might be upset about that? Well, I suppose on any other occasion I might be quite angry.”
Ichigo shifts uncomfortably. “So… Why not this time?”
“Well, I suppose I never did properly explain Lady Rukia’s position in this place. Certainly, she is technically ranked above you--ranked above many generals, in fact--and so I cannot blame you for following her orders. How did you like her, by the way?”
“Well… I mean she’s… Quiet. But okay, I guess--”
“She can be quite quiet, you’re right. But I hope you’ll find she’s also very kind. Gentle. Clever, too.” Yamamoto raps his knuckles against his desk. “But she’s also rather frail. The soldiers that took her after you left go to her quarters quite often to escort her to the medical facilities. She runs through quite a number of tests and medicines there for her condition. She’s very smart and capable, yes; but also can suffer some… Sufferings in judgement. Sometimes she doesn’t know what’s the best for her, so a select few including myself make certain decisions for her. Does that make sense?”
Ichigo doesn’t think the girl he saw yesterday looked sick at all, let alone capable of being anything but a smartass brat--but he nods.
“So next time it happens that my lady gives an order that you’re not quite sure about, request my presence immediately and I’ll sort it out. I trust your judgement. In fact, I’ll be requesting meetings every few days to ask you about updates on her condition and such.”
“... So you’re asking me to spy on her?”
“Not at all! Just that she gets quite tired sometimes… You’ll see. I just want to know how she’s doing after her treatments, so we can get her the help she deserves.” Suddenly, the old man’s focal point shifts to somewhere past Ichigo. “Ah! Well, speak of some sort of devil. Ichigo, this is Lady Rukia’s older brother, Byakuya. He’s a captain within our military.”
Ichigo turns around to see a man with long black hair standing in the doorway, eyeing him coolly. He clumsily gets up, walking over while reaching out his hand. The guy looks like a complete douchebag, but an older brother deserves to know his sister’s taken care of. “Ichigo Kurosaki, it’s--”
“I know who you are, thank you.” Byakuya drifts past Ichigo’s outstretched hand, toward the seat where Ichigo was previously sitting.
All right. So he really is an asshole.
“Give Rukia my regards. Lord Yamamoto, I have some reports with you I’d like to discuss.”
“Of course. Kurosaki, you may go now.” And just like that (again!) it seems the Yamamoto forgets his existence.
Ichigo is just about to shut the door when the old man’s voice calls out.
“Oh, and Kurosaki?”
He holds the door, waiting.
“I understand some--including Lady Rukia--warned you against being in her quarters with her, past the screen. This is one of the occasions I’d like you to ignore her order.”
Ichigo looks back inside at Yamamoto. “Um… I’m not sure I’m comfortable with that. Not if she isn’t.”
“Of course, completely understandable. But if she ever relays a sense of danger in being there… Worry not. There is none.”
Ichigo shuts the door.
He’s not about to go into some girl’s room without her wanting him there.
