hate sex w nanami
a/n: uhhhh heres that hate sex fic i promised two months ago :D my bad yall i got really busy and lost all motivation to keep writing on here, but i'm back now :)
cw: female reader, wrote this with black reader in mind but no mention of specific race, NOT PROOFREAD, no use of y/n, cunnilingus, overstimulation, cum swallowing, brat tamer nanami, brat reader, im very horny, that should be me honestly
"fuck, what are we doing?" you ask as you and nanami kiss feverishly. he climbs up onto his desk with you, laying you down onto your back roughly.
"don't know," he growls, his hand coming up to cup your jaw as he kisses his way down to your neck. your eyes widen as he bites you, and you feel your knees go weak when he pushes his thigh against your throbbing core while sucking your neck at the same time.
"i thought you couldn't stand me," you moan, rutting yourself against him, to which he groans at. he reaches down and tugs your pants off, your legs kicking them away.
"i can't," he answers, now tossing your underwear to the side and kissing his way down your thighs.
about two minutes earlier, you and nanami were just yelling at each other about your recent mission. you had a plan and nanami completely disregarded it for it's lack of, well, planning. you were more erratic and spontaneous, wanting to go with the flow, while nanami was more calculated and careful, always wanting to stay organized.
you barged in immediately after your checkup with shoko, still fuming because he ignored you when you tried to ask him on your way back about why the plans changed. you complained to shoko about it, to which she said "instead of yelling at me, why not go yell at him," to which you took literally.
nanami didn't acknowledge you once ever since you came in, which infuriated you even further. although his face was stoic, a slightly noticeable vein was popping out of his forehead and his fingers were gripping his pen tighter.
you spun him around in his seat, still complaining in his face, your noses almost touching, which ended up being his last straw. "you are incredibly childish, irresponsible, and i simply have no respect for you at all! you endanger our lives every time we go on a mission together, but all you can think about is how much fun you're having! you're selfish, and honestly a little bit dense, and i wish you'd shut up and leave, you're disturbing my peace."
your eyes widen as he speaks, his voice barely raising but his anger clearly showing. "you can kiss my ass." you grit and the look of disgust that appears on his face makes you even angrier. before you can say anything, he beats you to it.
"please leave," he says, standing up and now looking down at you.
feeling stubborn, you stand your ground and cross your arms. "no," you childishly protest and he leans his head back with a sigh.
"leave or-"
"or what?" you interrupt, moving closer to him and something in the atmosphere changes. for you it could've been the way he looked at you with such an intimidating expression, one that made you submit almost too quickly. for him it could've been the way you were pressed up against him, your chest against his and your pelvises almost touching.
before you could process what was going on, you were sitting on his desk, his lips attacking yours furiously and you were kissing him back.
his mouth is now on your pussy, eating you out like you were his favorite meal, his anger fueling his actions. "fuck don't stop, it feels so good," you moan and nanami grunts against your clit.
"stop fucking talking," he growls, his tongue darting back out to play with your clit and you slide your hands into his hair.
"fuck...you," you respond, breathless as he continues to mercilessly eat you out. nanami sucks your clit into his mouth over and over again, essentially treating it as a pacifier, and just when you think you're about to cum, he stops and inserts two fingers inside you.
"who knew something so sweet could come out of someone so bitter," he teases, watching as your pussy swallows his digits. you're unable to speak properly, your mouth open mid gasp and your back arching off the table. nanami speeds up, the sound making him even harder, and you finally gain your ability to speak again.
"shut up and eat- oh fuck- me out," you moan, pushing his head back onto your pussy and he complies, slurping away what has been produced by his ministrations. you choke on another moan and rut your hips against his face, to which he responds by holding your hips in place with his free hand. now completely controlling your pleasure, nanami fingers you faster, the tips of his fingers constantly brushing against your g-spot and before you knew it, you were having an orgasm.
you struggle to stay quiet as your body lights up but you find it difficult as nanami refuses to let up, his fingers fighting against your constricting walls and his tongue still hard at work on your clit. as you come down, you truly start to feel the overstimulation and try to pull away. "mm mm, stay right here. you should've left when i told you to. now it's my turn," he says, muffled by your pussy and you cry out when he starts sucking your sensitive clit again.
"please, its too much, i can't," you plead but it falls onto deaf ears as he goes on. nanami adds another finger and your eyes roll to the back of your head, the stretch adding a new sensation to focus on.
"if only you were as obedient as your pussy. look at how she sucks me right in," he coos and you subconsciously get tighter at his teasing. he chooses not to say anything about it yet, and focuses on stretching you out for his dick. your breathing picks up and nanami recognizes the cues for your next orgasm so he dives back onto your clit, spitting on it and slurping it loosely.
you cum unexpectedly this time and nanami keeps fucking you through it, your body thrashing against his hold. he finally pulls away from you, sitting up to look at your blissed out face. you open your eyes when he grabs onto your jaw with one hand and prods at your mouth with the other.
"open," he commands and you do as he says, the fuzz in your brain stopping you from thinking clearly. he puts his fingers into your mouth and you moan as you suck away the mess on them. he pulls you off the desk and leans you against it, your upper body folded over it now.
he pushes his clothed erection against you from behind and groans when you push back against him. nanami thinks about teasing you some more but he has a meeting with yaga about your partnership soon and he's racing against time. he quickly pulls his dick out, the tip turning slightly red as it's been begging for attention sine he kissed you.
your head is down when he pushes into you and you snap it up when you feel the way it stretches you out. a high pitched moan escapes you and nanami slaps his hand over your mouth while pulling you up to talk to you. "shut up, i'm not even all the way in yet," he rasps and you et out a sound of desperation.
once he bullies the rest of his cock inside of you, he pulls out and snaps his hips back into yours, and if it wasn't for his hand on your mouth, the entire academy would've heard the moan that came out of you. nanami sets a relentless pace, his anger towards you growing the louder you get.
"you really don't know how to be quiet, huh?" he growls, pushing all the way into you, shimmying his hips to get deeper, and you fall over, stopping yourself from moaning this time. tears come to your eyes and he fucks you deeply, the pleasure too much for you to handle and your knees going weak. nanami realizes you effort and scoffs to himself. "so you do know how to follow directions? i knew it wouldn't take much to put a brat like you in her place," he says and nod furiously, not even sure of what he's saying.
he speeds up now, his eyes fixated on the way your ass jiggles every time he thrusted into it. your pussy begins squeezing him like it did earlier but nanami isn't having it. he pulls you up by your hair and grabs you by your throat. "you'll wait, do you understand me? hold it until i say you can cum," he instructs and you let out a whine in protest. ultimately, you listen, and although it was extremely hard to focus on not cumming, you succeed.
nanami takes the hand on your throat and begins rubbing your clit with it. "make sure you stay quiet just like this. go ahead and cum for me," he says and not even a second later your gushing all over his dick. he moans out curses as you cum, your pussy holding onto his dick and when you're done, he pulls out. he yanks your shoulder and pushes you onto the ground, and you catch on, taking his dick in your hand and stroking it.
this is your first time seeing it and god was it big. you take the tip in your mouth and bob your way down his shaft, wanting to feel it in your throat. nanami moans as you suck him off and before long, he cums in your mouth. you swallow it as it comes and when he's done, he pulls you back to your feet. he carries you onto the desk and rubs the side of your hips as he comes down from his own high, his head on your shoulder.
"i'm sorry for barging in here and acting an ass," you say softly and he chuckles, his head still down.
"i'm sorry for calling you childish, irrisponsible, selfsih-"
"alright, i get it you're sorry!" you interrupt and he laughs a little harder. he stands up, tucks his dick away, and helps you put your pants back on before giving you a bottle of water and watching you leave.
later that day, during his meeting with yaga, at which he wanted to request a partner switch, he decided on sticking with you for just a little longer.

WHY'D YOU LET ME LET YOU GO? Satoru G.
They say that time takes away the pain, but you're still the same. After the divorce with Satoru, you were summoned to Jujutsu High to help him with a case, but it soon becomes clear that the pain from the breakup is still very much alive. As the two of you work together, you can't help but wonder if time really does heal all wounds, or if some wounds are just too deep to ever truly heal.

You have mostly been keeping yourself busy since the divorce from Satoru, working hard as a sorcerer outside the school, determined to show your ex-husband that his opinion of you didn’t matter. You were in the middle of examining a curse under a private employer, when you unexpectedly received a message from the authorities of Jujutsu High.
Shoko said she “needs your second opinion”. This of course gave you a sense of pride, and the fact that she mentioned your ex referred you by name was a big deal. So as you entered the school to consult a case, you weren’t surprised to see Gojo waiting for you.
“Thank you for coming.” He calmly spoke and bowed alongside Shoko and Ijichi. You bow in response before listening to them go over the incident involving a student while walking towards the morgue. “The kid is only a first year student, [ Y / N ]. But this had never happened before… he’s a vessel.” Shoko explained.
“A vessel? Like… he turned into a curse?” You wondered.
“Sort of… he ate one of Sukuna’s fingers which gave him that ability.” She replied.
“The king of curses?!” You exclaimed, almost stopping your tracks.
Satoru found himself surprisingly drawn to your voice as you made your way through the hallways to the morgue. Even though your marriage had ended, he had missed your mere presence in his life, despite all of the pain and heartache you caused each other.
“Exactly. A unique case, right?” Shoko nodded as she led everyone into the morgue. You watch Shoko uncover the boy’s body, a huge tear in his chest that devoid him of color.
“What was his name?” Your voice is slightly muffled by a face mask as you put on a pair of gloves.
“Itadori Yuuji.” Satoru answered flatly while he sat in a corner with Ijichi.
“Your student?” You asked as politely as you can, out of respect for the kid.
“Did you even listen to a word Shoko said earlier?” He spoke as he sat on a manspread, avoiding your gaze.
“Tch…” You snarled softly, ready to bite back until Shoko stopped you with her arm. “Hey, hey, this isn’t going to be a problem, remember?” She softly reminded. You knew that you are way more professional than your ex, and you were determined to prove yourself not just because the Gojo Satoru had referred you, but because you knew that you are more than capable of handling the case with your ability.
You took a second to look at the kid, offering a moment of silence and wishing him peace— something that you always did before examining deceased sorcerers. Until you noticed the tear on his chest start to close up, as if it was healing itself. You were convinced that this kid was already dead, so you were too shocked to process what was happening, nor to tell anyone in the room.
“We are about to start, are you just gonna sit there and watch?” Shoko was looking at the two men talking as Yuuji casually got up like he was waking up from a nap, which left you more baffled.
Ijichi was terrified, but Satoru was smiling to himself, seeming relieved.
“I’m kinda disappointed, I was looking forward to working with [ Y / N ].” Shoko frowned.
“This is kinda embarrassing. Who are you?” Yuuji looked at you two.
“Yuuji. Welcome back.” Satoru enthusiastically walked up to him.
“Sup, good to be back!” You watched in a mix of emotions as the two hi-fived. The scene reminded you too much of a particular spiky-haired child you used to sort of mother a while back… While you were still newly dating, Satoru took Megumi and Tsumiki in after the death of their father and raised them as if they were his own, alongside you.
With a bittersweet smile, you couldn’t help but picture Megumi now. He must be around Yuji’s age, maybe even his classmate. After all, he was just only learning the basics of his cursed technique by the time you dropped the Gojo last name.
Satoru excused himself with Shoko while you were left to clothe Yuji and give him an examination. You picked up the pace, eager to see Megumi and Tsumiki again. Yuji thanked you with a kind smile for giving him a check-up, before turning to Ijichi.
Discarding your medical gear and coat, you hurried outside the morgue to catch up on Satoru and Shoko.
“Satoru…” you followed Gojo through the hallways, feeling a sense of longing for the children you looked after together. You love them like their own, and the fact that you hadn't been able to see them since the divorce was painful. Satoru didn't know, but you occasionally sent messages to Megumi when you could.
“I want to see the two.” Shoko tensed a little and diverted her attention to something else, distancing herself, knowing that this is something between you and Satoru.
“Hmm… I'm not sure.” Satoru hesitated, knowing full well that he was being petty by not just giving her a straight answer. He knew that he was hurting you by not letting you see the kids, but he couldn't help but feel some resentment towards you for the way you didn't check on them after your marriage, unbeknownst to him.
You were hurt by his response. You knew that both you and Satoru had both made mistakes in your marriage, but you couldn't help but feel like you had lost more than just your husband. You lost the home you made with him and the Fushiguro siblings, and the fact that you're not sure if you can see them was like a knife in your heart. But you refused to let it show. You knew that he was just doing it to rile you up, but you can play this game with him like you did for years.
“I have the right to see them too, Satoru. We took them in together.” It was a long shot, but reminding him of the past was a bad idea. “I told you, you're not their legal guardian.” He flatly spoke. “Because you never fuckin let me be!” Satoru remained silent.
He had always been protective of the two, and [ Y / N ]. He didn't push through with the legal matters of it, because if anything untimely and unfortunate happened, Satoru did not want her to make tough calls, or have the children orphaned once more if anything happens to her. It was something he believed was in his hands, something he had to do alone.
This issue of responsibility and trust was something that had driven you apart since during your marriage, and it was a source of ongoing tension until now.
Nonetheless, you felt the right to see Megumi and Tsumiki again.
“Fine. You can see them after I return Yuuji.” Satoru finally answered.
“Return Yuuji?” You ask, puzzled.
“He remains 'dead' while I train him before the exchange event.” He explained.
“Are you nuts?! You're gonna hide the kid away while his friends think he's dead then you bring him back like potluck?!”
“Exactly. Megumi is going to be shocked.” Satoru smirked.
You scoffed in disbelief, “He's Megumi's buddy?! You're gonna do that to him?!”
“You're overreacting! So what? As if you know what he is like now! Don't tell me how to parent him.” As they began to bicker, you and Satoru found yourselves slipping back into your old patterns. You continue to bicker and argue with him, just as you had in the past.
This gave Shoko time to light a cigarette and look over the balcony, finishing the stick while you continued to bicker nearby. She couldn't even make out what you are arguing about by this point.
“I mean, who even does that?! That's just so fucked up. What if I pull that shit on you with Suguru, huh?” You felt a sense of frustration building inside you, and the pettiness reaching a new level… you knew it was a moment of weakness, a low blow, and you knew it immediately after you said it.
But you just couldn't shake the feeling that you had been backed into a corner, and that Satoru was determined to be the one in control of the situation.
Shoko's expression grew as you mentioned Suguru's name, and she knew that you struck a nerve. As they stood there in awkward silence, Shoko got in between the two of you.
“That's enough.” Shoko stepped between you as she saw the anger in his eyes and knew that it was about to boil over. She could see that the two of you were being petty towards each other, and that it wasn't helping the situation
"Let's not let our emotions get the best of us," Shoko said, her voice firm but calm. “You two need to focus on the case at hand. You can discuss this later.” She pointed out.
Tumblr media
As Satoru eagerly welcomed the students from Kyoto, Megumi and Nobara stood off to the side. They were both visibly shaken by Yuuji's sudden return, contrary to what their sensei expected. “You got something to say?” Nobara asks, still baffled.
“Everyone, come with me. We have a guest I’d like you to meet.” Satoru turned to his students with a smile.
He walked into the office with them, and Megumi in particular was surprised, not expecting to see you today. As he walked up to you, you got up and gave him a warm hug. You wished that you should have been there for them the way you wanted it to be,and you were just so lighthearted to see him again. Despite the tension, Megumi couldn't help but smile softly, accepting the gesture.
“[ Y / N ]-sama, when did you arrive?” He asked after bowing.
“I was actually here a couple of days ago to help with Yuji.” You explained.
“You didn’t tell...”
“Well, someone said keep it a secret.” You mumbled, fixing up Megumi’s uniform.
“I can hear you.” Satoru replied, and you rolled your eyes.
“You hear someone talking, Megumi?” You said and pulled him aside. “Come on, let’s get some drinks.”
While the seniors talked to each other, the students sat on a separate table having drinks. Nobara couldn't help but notice the tense atmosphere in the room, and she knew that there was a lot of tension between their sensei and the woman he introduced. “Is it just me but there’s a lot of tension between Gojo-sensei and [ Y / N ]-sama?”
“They used to be married.” Megumi casually spoke while drinking from his cup.
“What?!” Yuuji and Nobara exclaimed, bringing themselves closer to the boy. “So, she’s like, your step-mom?” Yuuji asks. “I don’t call her that.” Fushiguro visibly regrets revealing this information to the two too soon.
“They must’ve married young then.” Nobara wondered.
“That’s why they kept bickering at the morgue…” Yuuji recalled.
“Why did they break up?”
“Dunno. Can’t remember.” Megumi truthfully answered.
“Fushiguro shall have them back together again… this means one thing— parent trap!” Yuuji spoke dramatically.
“Right… If they reconcile, sensei is going to be in a good mood all the time.” Nobara agreed. Megumi had his face in his palms just by listening to the two’s bizarre ideas. “Here’s our plan...— they’re leaving.” He cut off Yuuji.
“What a shame.” Nobara shrugged and opened another can of cola.
Meanwhile, Satoru was already approaching you and asked if you could talk in his office, away from any prying ears.
“Why do you hate me so much?” Satoru dropped the question. Your eyes filled with pain as he asked you that. You had thought about this question so many times, and had always struggled to find the right words to answer it. You knew that you didn't hate him, you were just hurt and bitter, and you wished he had tried harder on being your husband while still serving the jujutsu world.
But she also knew that he had his own resentments, his own burden to carry, and she couldn't blame him for that. She just wished that he had been there for her in the way that she had always been there for him. And as they stood there, looking at each other, they both felt the weight of all that had happened between them.
“You hate me!” Satoru couldn't deny it, he had acted like he didn't need you in his life, but he realized that he did. You meant more to him than he let on, and he hated himself for making himself believe otherwise, leading him to be resentful towards you.
You only wanted to be there for Satoru when everything fell apart. When Suguru fell into the darkness, Shoko became distant, and he carried all collateral damage, you thought it could make you stronger. But it only drove you further apart. It is clear that it wasn't enough. Satoru was struggling to deal with his own pain, and it was spilling out into your relationship in the worst ways possible. You tried to be strong for him, to hold things together, but it was clear that it was only making things worse.
“It shouldn't be like this… Satoru. Everyone should be in there right now, poking fun at your students or something…” You pointed at the door.
“Everyone? You know who is "everyone" to me, [ Y / N ]?” Satoru asks, mirroring your words.
“Everyone is… my smartest and sweetest friend who I never see anymore, my best friend and other half who I should have given more time to, and my ex-wife who I probably should have ended up with and raised the kids with.” He painfully spoke, enumerating each of them. “There's so much going on in all of our lives right now… but all of us hanging out at Shoko's, being young and stupid… we weren't meant to do that forever.”
“I’m sorry, maybe I shouldn’t have come here to see you.” You shed a tear, turning to the door. But before you could make another move, Satoru pulled you into a hug, feeling the weight of all of his pain and everything he had been holding back since seeing you again. It was so heavy that you both fell on your knees, still holding each other and tears welling your eyes.
His firm grasp caught you off guard but you embraced it, not wanting to let go. You felt the weight of all that you had been through together, all over again, but you still did not want to let go. Like instinct, Satoru leaned in for a kiss, returning it with a passion that you didn't know was still there.
He was able to grab your thighs and lift you with ease. You kicked off your shoes and pulled off your coat, while your ex-husband opened his uniform, teasing you to his cut abs.
Satoru didn't take his eyes off of your full tits, the cleavage peeking from your low neckline, and your thighs firm in his palms. He's still in love with your body all these years, filling out all in the right places. His dick throbs just thinking about the new things he could do to you.
His eyes flicker down to yours. “Do you think about this? Having me fuck you again? No one else does it like I do.”
“All the time,” You admit, recalling all the lonely nights you missed his touch. Now you're experiencing it and it doesn't feel real at all. You feel like I've crossed another dimension, one where your body is actually worthy of having his against it once again.
He pulls himself away and lays you on your back with a grunt. You suck in a breath as he hovers over you and then hear his pants being discarded. placing his hand on your waist, he brings his face down next to yours and his hips suddenly thrust in a gradual rhythm, your walls accommodating his length in a reunion. It had been way too long…
“I never stopped thinking what it would feel like to grab your hips and fuck you like a doll.” He growls. He leans back and grips harder, his nails leaving marks. You feel them desperately dig into your flesh as he thrusts forward while I push you hips back to meet him. “Fuck, [ Y / N ]. Yes,” He groans. “You're gonna make me come hard in your pussy if you keep doing that."
Holy. Shit.
His voice is nothing but orgasmic. Deep, guttural, and fucking sexy. You keep doing your movements, arching your back back and meeting his thrust for thrust.
His groans got louder and you breathe raggedly as you clutch your hand to the edge, feeling him reach an area inside you that is triggering your body in ways you've never felt before.
“I feel you getting tighter, honey,” He whispered, addressing you by the pet name he called you when you were briefly married. “Can you feel my cock getting harder for you? Fuck, you're so damn wet.”
The guttural sound of his voice brings you to a dangerous high. You curse beneath your breath and then bite into your bottom lip, feeling that same feeling you had when his tongue played tricks with your pussy for the first time. You were building up second by second, on the verge of climax.
“What if you'd just give me a baby of our own…” You pant as he continues clutching your hip. His mouth falls to the bend of your neck, his lips caressing the sensitive skin there, and you can't take it. “Tempting.” He smirked and his hips stuttered, his tip releasing beads of precum.
“Please…Satoru…” It spills from your lips again and again as he meets you thrust for thrust, you let go, body vulnerable and sensitive to his touch.
He starts to pound after pound, skin clapping together as he lets out a deep, hoarse groan and his dick starts to throb inside your pussy.
You knew what was coming, and so with all your strength, you lifted your legs to his waist and locked himself inside of you.
“Shit… [ Y / N ]... Nng-need to pull out…” His voice was more desperate than you've ever heard it— raw and vulnerable, as if he's needed to cum like this in ages. You couldn't fight your smile when you saw that desperate look on his face and his dick throbbing.
You couldn't imagine how much cum he's spilled, but it seemed like he hadn't had a good fuck like this in a long time.
“Holy fuck…” He panted out with a smirk, slightly shaken by the possible parental consequences of what you just did, but also turned on by the fact that he was able to claim you again…

Tumblr media
He’s dead.
Dead.
The strongest. Dead.
Satoru Gojo is dead.
A flash, then his body becomes two — legs here, torso there.
He’s not moving. Scarlet splatters the ground, blooms like a lily.
The air is disgustingly thick, and it hangs like a noose, and it cuts your throat. Nobody is breathing. Everybody knows.
This time, he’s not getting back up.
A scream claws its way out of your throat, vicious as it pierces through the air.
Someone else is stepping up to replace him already, a sorcerer with hair like seafoam. The King of Curses turns towards him, his stolen face twisting into a demonic grin, dripping with victory.
Right now there’s just one thing on your mind. Like instinct, like it’s your destiny. You don’t care about the politics, the consequences, the implications of his death. None of it matters.
You just want to be with Satoru.
Your feet are moving. They almost take off, but a steady grip pulls you back.
“You should leave.” Shoko’s voice quivers as she speaks. You’ve seen her composure crack so rarely that when you do it feels like your first time witnessing it.
Your face is hot, and it’s wet now. Your eyes sting. You don’t try to stop the tears, or even wipe them.
If you were to look up, you’d find eyes full of sorrow and shock and pity—you’re the grieving widow. His students have lost a teacher, his friends have lost a friend. At least I’m not her, they all think, I haven’t lost the love of my life.
Without another word, without even so much as one final glance at Satoru’s corpse, you leave. You can’t bear to be there any longer.
The taxi driver does not question why you’re crying. He pretends he does not hear the way you sniffle and gasp for air. He drives you to your home and drives away when you’ve paid him.
You breathe out. Your shoulders sag with relief. You will yourself to stop crying.
He’s in the living room, a thick arm thrown over his eyes as he half-naps. As soon as he hears you enter however, he springs up, beaming like the sun.
Satoru laughs a little at your puffy face and your glimmering eyes. He gathers you into a hug, his body hard and imposing and warm, and you cling to him. His heart pumps blood around his body and it’s loud in your ears.
“That was traumatic,” you say, but it gets muffled when you bury your face into his chest. He smells fresh, like the wind on a warm day. He must have showered since he teleported home.
Satoru’s laughing again. You wish he’d never stop. “You knew it was fake the whole time, how bad could it be?”
“I had to watch you die, Satoru! It was horrible even if it was fake,” you admit, tightening your arms around his waist, where his torso meets his legs.
He laughs, and it reverberates in his chest and rumbles through your body. You’re angry. You can’t climb inside of his skin and live there and you’re angry about it. His giant hands draw circles all over your back.
“I’m here, baby. I’m all yours now,” he tells you. For the first time, he means it without any exceptions.
“What if you faked your death?”
Satoru’s head whips over to look at you, scanning your face to find something that will tell him you’re not serious. But you are serious.
One word, he asks, “why?”
“So we can give up being sorcerers and leave Japan and never come back.”
Satoru grows quiet. There’s a pit in your stomach. He tells you constantly that he’d give you the world, and you believe him, and he loves you more than anything, yet he can’t bring himself to give up on humanity. Without him, the world doesn’t stand a chance. He’s the strongest, after all.
“Is that what you want?” he asks. It’s sincere.
“Yes,” you tell him, swallowing as you consider your next words. “I just got you back from the Prison Realm and now you have to fight Sukuna, who might actually kill you… You just give and give so much to the Jujutsu world and what do they give you back? Shit all. And I’m tired of watching you be wrung dry.”
He’s silent again. All the years that you’ve known him make it easy for you to know what he’s thinking. More than likely he’s thinking of Yuuji and Megumi and Yuuta. Maybe he wonders what Nanami would tell him to do, or what Geto would say.
It’ll be selfish. He’ll be abandoning everyone at the worst possible moment. He turns your words over and over in his head. Then he thinks of a life with you, a peaceful one, where you’ve left behind your days of sorcery, where he doesn’t have to be some pseudo-god.
Where he can grow old with you.
Perhaps, he thinks, it’s necessary for him to disappear. It’ll be a struggle without him, but he has faith. They’ll persevere.
“What are you thinking?” he asks eventually.
“I’ll use cursed energy to create a clone of you. Since my clones can’t use cursed techniques it’ll have to be right when Sukuna is about to kill you. You switch out and teleport out of there.”
For a moment he stares at you, then he chuckles, shifting sideways so he can lay on his back and stare at the ceiling with resolve.
“You’ve been thinking about this,” he says.
“I have,” you say. “For as long as I’ve loved you.”
He thinks you’ve never looked more beautiful.
He’s convinced of it, actually. Life has filled your cheeks out and erased your dark circles away. Your eyes shine brighter. Fear no longer lives in them, nor does hopelessness.
Your fingers are gentle as you pluck fresh, plump tomatoes off the vine. Satoru’s heart swells because you’ve been so excited to harvest them.
“It’s just a handful for now,” you tell him, letting him peer inside the basket you have on your arm. There are a few bunches of rocket and basil leaves, and a small squash too.
He reaches in, takes a tomato and pretends to take a bite out of it until you snatch it from his hand and scold him.
“They just look too good, baby,” he says between laughs. You roll your eyes, but you don’t manage to bite back the smile that grows on your lips.
“Go finish building my chicken coop,” you tease, calling him by his last name, the one he took from you, then brushing past him to head back inside your home.
“I told you it’s almost finished!” he exclaims, trailing behind you as you make your way to the vintage renovated kitchen of your house.
Satoru settles on a stool at the island at the centre, observing the way you rinse the vegetables in the sink. To him it’s fascinating—well, you’re fascinating. The way your brow scrunches slightly with concentration. He hopes you never run out of vegetables to harvest and wash. He’ll make sure you don’t.
“By the way, what do you think about getting some mini goats?”
“I don’t care as long as you take care of them,” you tell him. “Do you want salad or roasted vegetables for lunch?”
Satoru’s heart races. He’s transported back to 2006 for a moment, when for some reason he wanted to be around you all the time and thought it was weird that he liked it when you teased him. Before he realised.
“Roasted vegetables, please. I love you.”
Satoru doesn’t look much different now. He’s gotten a little more toned, put on some muscle from some of the heavy work he does on the farm.
And when he smiles, he’s not pretending anymore.

{when you need me...}
who would i be if i didn't project my mental health onto 2D characters/reader and not write about it? i see so many fics of reader being worried for nanami while he's out in shibuya and… we all know what happens there.
content warning: detailed descriptions of anxiety, reader refers to themselves as 'wife' (reader thinks they are a bad wife) and the use of 'she'. it's otherwise in the 2nd person perspective. negative self-talk/beliefs. use of pet names. nanami being the bestest husband. i miiiiight have made him OOC and overindulged on how soft i made him BUT ITS OK YOU GOTTA BE A DELULU IN THIS ECONOMY.

No, you were not going to call him. Absolutely not! Or text him either, for that matter.
The anxiety had been bubbling away all day inside your head like billowing storm clouds. You were grateful work kept you occupied, but once you arrived home, you trudged to your bedroom. You didn't even change out of your work attire.
You knew the source of all this, too.
Nanami came home injured while you were out dealing with another curse of your own. Thankfully, he had dealt with the bleeding himself and got checked out by Shoko. But to see him come so depleted of energy – dark shadows hanging under his eyes like bats, shoulders heavy – left you extremely unsettled. You were already an anxious mess, and now there are talks of a special-grade 'patchwork' curse. Not to mention the two unregistered cursed spirits that Gojo encountered.
What was going on in the world?
Now, he had been called out to the school again. After being badly injured, no less!
What if he was asked to fight the patch-work curse again? Was that curse able to perform Domain Expansions? Your husband never reached that height of jujutsu…
Would he… make it home okay?
You worked a "normal" job, not being employed at as a teacher at the highschool. As a grade one sorcerer, though, you were sometimes called in on particularly difficult and awkward missions. Your figured your problems with anxiety in the past would slowly fizzle away if you quit working at that highschool; after all, they couldn't make you exorcise and hunt down curses as often if you didn't work there. In your naivety, you assumed that'd be the end to your worries. But they only persisted and got worse the longer your husband of four years continued to work there as a teacher.
You couldn't resent him for it, and you knew he found greater fulfillment in being a teacher than adhereing to the laborious life of a salaryman.
But, maybe… your selfish thoughts got the better of you when you wished he could work a more "normal" job like you… If he worked a job where his safety was guaranteed…
How could you say such a thing? What kind of wife says that?!
Your hand collides against your forehead, releasing a (poorly contained) groan. Your teeth continued to chatter.
Now, I'm a bad wife on top of everything else…
Gruesome images flood your mind's eye. It's obsessive, relentless. After all, you have to prepare for the worst to come, right…? That's what you always do.
If you were by his side, would that make you feel any more relieved? Just by seeing him? But like a jolt, any solution you try come up with is met with more disturbing imagery. It was so vivid, it is as if you were there.
All that gore and worry conjured up in your cursed, anxious little head. The redness – so much red – of your imagery. It seeps and spreads along the ground at a terrifying rate, the image of someone – Kento – bleeding out. No one is there to help him.
You are.
You aren't gifted like Shoko, though.
There is no amount of horror – be it from forms of media or the wicked imagination – that can prepare a person for seeing the life ebb from another; the hopelessness, the tearing at the soul that is the departing of the other. As your loved one leaves this earth.
You're anxious, you're spiralling… You just wanted him to be okay. You wanted him to confirm with you he was okay. But you disturb him enough already with your texts and calls during missions.
Of course, in reality, if you hailed for Kento, he'd drop everything to be with you. He always has.
You didn't realize your thumb was hovering above the 'send' button. Through bleary eyes, you can see a hastily constructed text. Loaded with typos and errors. You're hardly able to read it though. Thumbs fidgting, you toss the phone.
You knew, logically, that he would want to help. He always has helped. But god, maybe you wanted to be big girl for once and try deal with it without him? Maybe be a good wife who doesn't send him a barage of texts when she's anxious?
Anxiety is the leak in your boat. You have to find a way to patch that hole or you'll drown.
But how can you when your worries revolve around your husband's safety?
You try cling to the logic that he has never refused you, made you feel stupid or invalidated you. Ever. But why would you cling to logic when the voice of your anxiety echoes through megaphone at you.
Of course, you're a distraction. Of course, you're a nuisance.
You hadn't even done a single chore to help around the house today. Some wife you were…
Kento would tell you that these thoughts you have are ridiculous. But you couldn't help it. You felt like you were holding him back from everything he deserved – you were so blessed to have a husband like him. You counted your lucky stars to be with him, but you ultimately felt like you didn't deserve him.
But Kento wasn't here now. So all you had was your mind to bully you.
The thoughts come as an electrical storm in your brain that, quite honestly, are painful. It's different from a headache and it feels the same as intense sorrow. It's uneven breaths as you claw at your chest, and it feels like you're suffocating; all the oxygen has been sucked out of the room. It's sobbing to the point of staining your shirt. The intense images come at you with cursed intent. Like being hooked up to a cattle fence - not enough voltage to kill but sufficient to keep things uncomfortable, paralysed with fear and unmoving. And you couldn't, for the life of you, talk yourself out of the spiral.
It wasn't as if you didn't want Kento to be there. You were just denying yourself of his presence. You thought you were being brave, you thought—
Ping!
You lower your hands from your eyes. You gaze at the phone, blinking owlishy, before picking it up.
You let out a groan. In anxiously twiddling your thumbs by your screen, you had sent the (questionable-looking) text.
You don't even have time to berate yourself, for your ringtone begins to chime.
"[F/n], honey. I don't quite understand your text," he greets. He goes back to doing what he was doing – it sounded like he was tidying something away. "Principal Yaga has us staying behind at the school to–"
He stops.
He immediately stops upon hearing you whimper over the phone.
"Sweetheart?"
You mumble, "I-I– Um, N-Nanami, I–"
What if he loses his patience today? Will this be the straw that breaks the camel's back?
You can hear him shuffling over the phone. "Talk to me, what is it? Are you hurt?"
You don't want him to leave work on your account. Damn, your thumbs! If only it stayed as an unsent draft.
You panicked. "I-I'm fine! I think I just–"
You hear him sigh. "You're a terrible liar… You're not fine." A pause. "I'm coming home."
"No, Kento, please–!"
The call ends there. Your fingers seize up and your phone falls to the bed. Your wrists bash off your head, hitting yourself. Stupid, stupid, stupid…
Ping!
Be safe. I'll be there in fifteen.
Your heart sinks, especially knowing that he'd probably break several road safety laws to get back to you as soon as possible.
Another notification arrives swiftly after that.
I love you. You'll be fine.
The fifteen minutes drag by so slowly. You're still rooted at the side of your bed. Not having changed, started laundry, started making dinner. You shake your head. It's frightful how automatically you chastise yourself for anything and everything. Once you hear the click of the door, you shudder and cower, waiting for him to come into your shared bedroom to berate you.
Your eyes are clamped shut still, even when you feel his calloused thumb rub at your knee.
"Oh, sweetheart…" he says, and when he speaks it's so soft. Soft like he'd holding fine china.
He's careful to not press your boundaries too much, not wanting to hold you tighter. But he doesn't sense any resistance right now. You let him hold you.
He holds you like you are the most precious and loveliest thing in his world.
(You are.)
As if you weren't crying enough already, his touch makes you crumble more.
"What has you so anxious, [F/n]?" he asks, rubbing your arms up and down. He pulls away briefly to ask, "May I sit?"
You nod and he sets himself down. You overwhelmed by his love. You always have been. He always spoils you with his soft, passionate touch and his gentle words. You sniffle and it takes every ounce of self control to not explode into a heaving, babbling mess (more than what you currently were.) You continue to sob into his arms.
"Shhh, shhh. You're alright, you're going to be just fine, sweetheart. But in order to be okay, you're going to have to stop holding your breath like that."
You hadn't even realized. You always had been an open book to him.
Breathe, breathe, breathe…
Your thoughts were so out of control, you were in a terrible cycle of either hyperventilating, or holding your breath. You shake your head, trying to break free. He doesn't let go entirely, but he loosens his grip. His hands hold yours, breathing deeply, as if trying to do it for you. You continue to resist, fighting his hold more as you take agonizing breaths.
"Let me hold you. Let me make things better. Let me stay."
You sob harder, knowing that once again he'll be picking up the pieces. Your pieces.
"What has you so worked up?" he asks, in between practiced, deep breaths.
Before you even have a chance to say anything, he whispers softly against your temple, "I love you. So, please, let me in."
And you let everything out.
He holds you close again once each and every worry comes out. He rocks you slowly back and forth, he plants the odd kiss to your dewy temple. He listens to you intently, taking in everything you say and more. He has heard these worries countless times before, and he listens to them as if these are being revealed to him for the first time. He gently 'shhhh's against your brow when you start to hiccup and unravel more.
As your husband, he wants to be able to promise you his safert; he wants to promise he'll come home in one piece.
But he can't do that. Because he doesn't know how any of this will play out.
So he hugs you, impossibly tighter.
"What can I do to help? Tell me what I can do to make it all okay…"
You want to be a good wife; you don't share the selfish thoughts you have, of wanting him to work at a normal job again. Even when he hated it, even when it left him feeling so drained.
So you say nothing and you let your little lie spread its wings.
You calm down in his arms, holding you until your limbs feel heavy. He continues to soothe you as best as possible. His voice was so achingly gentle, rubbing circles into your hips. It has your heart shattering into pieces.
Mindlessly, you mumble under your breath. "I just want you to be okay…" you admit.
He averts his gaze helplessly, because knows he can't promise you that. He relaxes and lays down on the bed, taking you with him. You undo the top button of his shirt.
He smiles sadly. It's the one thing he can't promise.
And though he'll never let you know, he feels like he fails in this duties as a husband.
But sometimes, he knows he's at least doing something right when he helps calm you down from such a state that you end up dozing off in his arms. He holds you til his arms limp and heavy.
In this blood-stained, fleeting life, he'll walk with you to the ends of this earth.
Even if he must depart early.

“are you going to blink any time soon?” suguru asked his bestfriend, waving in front of his face, "—earth to satoru?"
“huh.” satoru grumbled in annoyance. “what are you talking about?”
in case you overheard, suguru whispered in satoru’s ear to save him from his own embarrassment, “i’m talking about how you haven’t taken your eyes off of (y/n) all day. you’re starting to look like a creep.”
satoru pushed him away as his face turned bright red, “oh, shut up, suguru!”
the two sorcerers watched from the other end of the classroom as you and shoko were practicing your reversed cursed techniques together. he saw shoko jumping up and down with joy, hugging you tightly, probably excited that you were starting to hone in on your skills. a twinge of jealously jabbed at the white haired sorcerer.
suguru started to pry, “are you and (y/n) going to have another sleepover tonight?”
“suguru, get to the point. what the hell do you want?” satoru snapped in annoyance.
“oh come on, you know for a fact that everyone including our muscle-brained sensei, knows that you have been sneaking into (y/n)’s dorm room at night—not to mention past curfew.” suguru sighed at how oblivious satoru thought he was. suguru was smarter than that. "everyone just wants to know if you two are dating yet!"
satoru’s flush of red in his cheeks did not fade away, instead he just got redder and redder the more his bestfriend talked about the two of you possibly becoming a couple.
suguru curiously asked, “how long as this been going on for?”
satoru gritted his teeth and sighed, “ever since we got back from our mission together.”
“are you guys—”
satoru quickly interrupted his bestfriend before he said anything else to embarrass him further, “i only go to her room to sleep—for some reason, i sleep better when i’m with her. i think it’s her custom futon.”
it wasn’t your custom futon at all. it was the comfort of your presence.
suguru knew that satoru had a difficult time sleeping ever since he started attending jujutsu high. satoru was the type of person to doze off for a couple hours here and there, but never got any actual decent rem cycle sleep. satoru was the total opposite of you. you needed well over 8 hours of sleep to function as a normal (and kind) human being. the first thing that sashisu learned about you was not to wake you up in the mornings. the two guys left shoko with that job when needed.
“sure, whatever you say, satoru.” suguru smiled, his eyes disappearing behind his sly grin, “so, you and (y/n) are…?”
satoru scoffed at his bestfriend’s bold assumption, “—we are just friends.”
there was no way in hell he was going to admit that he liked you without knowing if you liked him back.
suguru folded his arms, annoyed that he wasn’t going to get an answer out of his bestfriend, “uh huh, right—friends do not cuddle each other to sleep.”
satoru started to list actions that friends can totally do together, “well, shoko and (y/n) always have sleepovers, they hug and loop their arms together when they walk—and they’re just friends.”
suguru stated very clearly, “shoko doesn’t give (y/n) an arm pillow every night. and she doesn’t cuddle her just to be able to get some sleep either.”
“well, shoko hugs (y/n) and holds her hand. i don’t get to do that.” satoru barked back.
“you know, satoru… it’s starting to sound like you’re jealous of shoko.” suguru laughed, realizing that satoru definitely wanted to be more than just friends with you.
satoru shot a death glare at suguru, “—am not!”
later that night
“what did you and shoko do during class today?” satoru asked as he watched you brush your hair in your bathroom.
you hummed, “hmmm, shoko gave me some pointers on how to control my cursed energy so i could focus it into reversed cursed energy.”
“oh…” satoru mumbled, “i could’ve helped you with that.” he would never admit that he was jealous of his other bestfriend, shoko ieiri. he wondered what favors he'd have to do for yaga-sensei in order to get paired up with you for a mission again.
you giggled, “satoru, you can’t even heal yourself yet. how could you have helped me?”
“i would’ve found a way.” satoru said, dissatisfaction in his tone. he would have to get stronger and figure out this reversed cursed technique bullshit if he wanted you to stay by his side. he folded his arms across his chest as he sat in your bed, waiting for you to turn off the lights so he could sleep.
you took one last look in your bathroom mirror before turning off your bathroom light. you hopped onto your bed and crawled towards satoru. as you sat down next to him, you noticed that his face was turning pink, ears heating up to a crimson red—he was avoiding all eye contact with you.
“arm pillow, please.” you called out to him with a smile, ignoring his blushing face. you wondered what had gotten into him today.
he laid back and rested his head on your pillow, laying out his right arm for you. you nuzzled in between his chest and bicep. you turned to face him, his arm curling down your back.
“are you sure your arm doesn’t hurt at night?” you asked, patting his chest softly. he always teased you about waking up with a dead arm in the mornings.
“i’m sure.” satoru said softly, “i’m used to it.”
you lifted your head from his arm and glared at him, “used to it? do you give other girls arm pillows too or something?”
satoru rolled his eyes at you, removing his hand from your back to ruffle your neatly brushed hair.
“no, (y/n). you’re the only one.” he reluctantly admitted, “your big head is the only one to lay on my arm.”
you rolled your eyes before you gave him a self-satisfied smirk, attaching your head to his right arm again. that satoru gojo and his interesting way of flirting he always used to try to charm you. you wrapped your arm around his torso, holding him close to you.
the past week that satoru had spent sleeping next to you, he picked up on your interesting sleeping habits: you were usually the first to fall asleep between the two of you. you were a light sleeper. you preferred to sleep on your side (or on your stomach when you’re not curled up next to him). you grind your teeth in your sleep when you’re stressed (he found that out during your mission together). you snore when you’re exhausted (but you argue that you don’t). and lastly, whenever he would move away from you, you would always pull him back towards you.
within 5 minutes of shutting your eyes, you were out cold. satoru could tell by the way your breathing steadied and the way your cursed energy looked to his six eyes. a calm blue hue is what cursed energy looked like at a peaceful resting state.
tonight, satoru’s heart would not stop racing no matter how hard he tried to regulate his breathing. he thought he got used to sleeping next to you every night for the past week, but he was wrong. his thoughts about his feelings towards you was tormenting him inside.
satoru wished that he had the courage to try to be more upfront with you about his feelings. he wished that he could confidently hold your hand so that everyone knew you were his. he wished that he could hug you just because he wanted to. he wished that he could kiss you in hopes that you would kiss him back. this fear of not knowing how you felt about him crippled him.
how could the strongest sorcerer feel so weak in your presence?
he tilted his head towards yours. the scent of your orange hibiscus shampoo lingered in your hair, your head resting just below his chin. he slumped further down on your bed, trying his best not to move your ‘arm pillow’. like clockwork, he felt you unconsciously pull him back towards your body. satoru hoped that he wouldn't wake you up by all the moving around he was doing.
he sighed before he turned to face you. your lashes fluttering against the top of your cheek as he watched you inhale and exhale in your slumber.
how could one person look so beautiful while sleeping? this was so damn unfair.
satoru’s heart skipped a beat. was he really going to attempt to kiss you? hell, he was going to take a risk. he took a deep breath before leaning in to press a feather-light kiss on your forehead and then on the top of your head. the foreign feeling made you furrow your eyebrows in your sleep. he hoped that his pathetic attempt at a kiss wouldn’t wake you up. he wouldn’t know how to explain this to you if you woke up right this instance. he stroked your cheek with his palm before you immediately fell back into your sweet dream for the night.
and it was in that moment that satoru gojo hoped that one day, you could be his and all he dreamed of too.
EXTRA:
“was my hair all over the place or something last night?” you asked satoru as you watched him change out of his pajamas to throw on his school uniform.
satoru thought back to last night when he kissed your forehead and immediately blushed. he feigned ignorance, “not that i remember. why...?”
you connected your thumb and index finger to your chin. “hmmm, i swear i felt something tickling my forehead.”
satoru couldn’t hide his mischievous grin, “tickling your forehead, huh? i wonder what it could’ve been.”

[part thirteen] to build a home - gojo satoru
Tumblr media
word count: 5.6k warnings: !!manga spoilers!! swearing, jjk-verse style fighting series summary: when (y/n) (y/l/n) catches wind that the notorious sorcerer killer, toji fushiguro, has children, she makes it her personal mission to find them. the catch being she couldn't tell a soul about them- the risk of the zen'in clan learning about them was too great. keeping the secret isn't the hard part, it's lying to her friends, shoko ieiri, geto suguru, and of course gojo satoru, that she struggles with. especially when satoru has suddenly become so keen on keeping an eye on her lately.
series masterlist
[part thirteen] : “Melt My Soul” ___
How long after a traumatic incident does your body begin to process it? A minute? A day? Or was it the very moment the incident took place?
Does the soul know that this event was going to change the body forever? Or is it the body that processes the trauma the quickest, in order to protect the soul from the impending pain and grief?
It feels as though someone had drilled into (y/n’s) bones, and filled them with metal.  Quick hardening, heavy, toxic metal.  It keeps her trapped in place, stuck.
So stuck, she glances down to study the concrete of the sidewalk, just to see if there was a curse there keeping her put, or cement being poured over her feet.
But no, there was nothing holding her in place.  It was simply her own mind, processing the scene before her too slowly for any of her other bodily functions to operate.
She’s standing outside of a KFC, of all places, close to Shoko’s side, and just barely hiding behind Satoru.  She doesn’t exactly mean to be hiding, but again, she can’t bring herself to move.  Her hands are curled into fists so tight that they’re shaking- or was that just me? She wondered, and hoped at least no one could notice.
Shoko did.  She hadn’t taken her eyes off of (y/n’s) trembling hands since she’d arrived.
Neither of them had said a word, but even if they weren’t frozen in shock, there wouldn’t have been a chance to.  Satoru hadn’t offered even a moment for someone to cut in with their own piece of mind.
“What’re you getting at!?” He snarled loudly, not caring about the non-curse users passing by, just trying to go about their days.
(y/n’s) eyes landed on a particular disgruntled couple, who hastened their steps upon seeing the public display.  How she wished to be them, at this moment.  What a luxury, to find this scene annoying, maybe mildly entertaining.
To think the world as she knew it was crashing down around her, burning up into a crisp.  If only she could walk away and roll her eyes.
“If I could be you…” Suguru speaks and it sounds rehearsed, calculated, as if he’d had this conversation before.  “Wouldn’t my impossible ideal become possible?”
“You can’t be serious” Satoru’s voice finally drops in volume, and (y/n’s) eyes dart from one friend to the other.
She stares at Satoru hard, trying to read him, trying to figure out what was going through his mind.  It’s useless, because she already knows.  She already knows exactly what he’s thinking, because she’s thinking the same thing.
Satoru’s hand curls into a fist, and when (y/n) notices it, she relaxes her own hands, which suddenly feel sore from how long she’s kept them tensed.  Her palms feel raw as the cool breeze hits them.
For the first time since she’d arrived, she opens her mouth.
“Don’t do this, Suguru,”
All eyes are on her now as she steps forward.  Her entire body is aching, maybe from the intense workout she’d done before warping here, maybe from the way the heartbreak is killing her soul.
But then again, what was one more heartbreak?
“Just- just come back, okay? Come back home and we can- we can talk this out”
Satoru and Shoko stare at her, surprised by the offer, wondering if she meant it, that she’d forgive him for his heinous crimes against non-sorcerers, against his own family.
What they don’t know is she’s speaking without thinking.  The words that fall from her take a piece of her heart with them, making them sound like the most sincere thing she’s ever spoken, but truthfully, she just doesn’t want to accept that this is who Geto Suguru was now.  She wanted to give him a chance to prove it all wrong.  She wanted to give them all a chance to forget the last few months and go back to normal.
Suguru chuckles, shaking his head and plastering on a smile.
“Ever the hypocrite, (y/n),” He says, tucking his hands into his pockets.
Her posture stiffens, and her features harden too.  Forgiveness was only Plan A.  Her fingers twitch at her sides, and she fights the urge to curl them back into fists.
“Your exhaustion becomes you,” Suguru continues, with a smile on his face that doesn’t reach his eyes, which are pointed at her with a venom (y/n) can recognize even from the distance she’s at.  “I see you’ve made your choice”
It’s a comment that doesn’t make sense to the others, but (y/n) knows fully well what Suguru was getting at.  Her teeth grit together.
“Don’t you speak to me about choices!”
On it’s own angered accord, her arm shoots over her shoulder, fingers wrapping firmly around the hilt of one of her swords.  Before she can unsheath it, Satoru’s hand is around her wrist, halting her.
Her head whips towards him so fast she hears a joint pop in her neck, but she’s not bothered by the unsettling crack, consumed enough by her rage to glare at him, silently demanding to know why he was stopping her.  Satoru doesn’t say a word, but when he slowly releases his hold on her, she doesn’t try to draw her weapon again.  The fire in her eyes doesn’t die as he holds her glare.
Suguru laughs to himself, shrugging his shoulders.
“I suppose this is goodbye, to all of you”
Satoru and (y/n) look back over to him, neither of them knowing what to say.  Shoko is wilting behind them both, not having said a word since Satoru and (y/n) had shown up.
Suguru raises his hand, giving what appeared to be a friendly wave.  It feels like a finishing blow.  With that, he turns around, and walks away.  He doesn’t run, he doesn’t summon one of the many curses he could have used to carry him away at high speed.  He simply strolls away.
Satoru raises his arm, and (y/n) watches with baited breath as he positions his middle and forefinger to his palm, tucked there by his thumb, and keeps it aimed directly at Suguru.
It’s only for a few seconds, but with her breath caught in her throat, it felt like ages.
Did she want him to do it? Her heart pounded in her chest, getting quicker with every beat.  Did she want to stop him, just as he had stopped her? Did she want to beg him not to kill him?
The question hits her, and her breath is finally released, a heavy, shaky exhale that makes her entire body deflate.
Did she want Suguru to die?
Satoru lowers his arm, although his eyes are still trained on the spot his best friend once stood.  He was gone now, lost in the crowd of people.  Leaving the three of them to stand together, staring at that spot, at a loss for words.
What was there to say? Their best friend had defected, he wasn’t the person they knew, he was a murderer.
(y/n’s) the first to move, although it’s staggered, she takes a step back, putting distance between herself and the others.  Satoru and Shoko look at her with worry, and Shoko even reaches out a hand, as though to help stabilize her.  (y/n) takes another step backwards.
“(y/n/n)...” The girl whispers, but (y/n) can’t even meet her eyes.  Her own eyes are glazed over, locked in a fixed position on the ground.
I can’t dwell on this, she thinks to herself rationally.  Her heart begs her to let go, to sit down, to breathe, but she ignores it.  I need to move on.  I need to focus on Megumi and Tsumiki.  I can’t let this distract me.
“(y/n), slow down,” Shoko’s voice is closer to her now, and (y/n) barely registers how her hands set on her shoulders with a feather-light weight.  “Breathe”
She doesn’t notice her breathing has gone ragged, uneven.  She’s panicking.  This is a panic attack.
Move on, she wills herself to get over the incident like it wasn’t her present situation.  Think about the kids, and move on, she tries anyway, because she has to.
The funny thing about trauma was that you couldn’t bend it to your will.  It hits her now that her chest is heaving, her mouth is dropped open as she gasps for air.
Shoko’s trying to get her to focus, something about matching her breathing, and looking at her, but (y/n’s) vision was blurry, and she couldn’t hear a thing over her pounding heart and her own thoughts.
You only have two days left to prepare, she reminds herself.  In two days, the Zen’in Clan is going to come for Megumi, she repeats it like a mantra, a toxic coping mechanism to combat the panic threatening her body.
She had no time for things like panic and fear.
If you don’t get it together, you’ll lose them.  And if you lose them, what will you have left? You’ve pushed everything away to protect them, you put your life on pause, and you’re about to risk what’s left of it by challenging one of the most prominent families in Jujutsu Society.
Finally, her head snaps up, wide eyes meeting Shoko’s, who flinches upon the contact, and then she turns to Satoru, who was now also standing before her.  (y/n) doesn’t say anything as she looks between them both, and neither do they, at first, but their concern is evident.
“Are you alright?” Satoru asks, leaning in closer as he speaks.  She holds his eye contact, but it doesn’t look to him like she’s processing a word he’s saying.  “(y/n),” He says her name, catching a flicker of recognition in her eyes.  “Can you breathe?”
You don’t have time for panic, the voice in her head reminds her ruthlessly.  You don’t have time for any of this.
She looks back to Shoko, whose tears are spilling onto her cheeks, after too long of holding back her emotions.  Her lip quivers, and her hands tighten on (y/n’s) shoulders, gripping the fabric of her uniform shirt.
You need to leave, the voice commands, and she doesn’t give it a second thought.
She draws her hand upwards, not noticing the violent tremble of her entire arm, she brings her middle and pointer finger to her forehead, closing the rest of her hand.  Satoru recognizes this motion instantly, and jumps forward to rip her hand away from her head.
Using Hexing Eye so recklessly couldn’t be good for her right now.  She hadn’t perfected it, hadn’t learned to use it as a means for teleportation, and without a hex in place, she was bound to lose consciousness as soon as she warped.
(y/n’s) faster, throwing herself backwards just as she closes her eyes and focuses her mind on her dorm room.
“Don’t-!” She barely hears Satoru’s voice before she’s warped away.  It’s distant, almost an echo, almost dream-like.
Her body lands hard on the floor of her room before she even has the time to open her eyes again.  With a groan of pain, she tries stretching her already aching limbs.
I guess that’s why you don’t teleport while mid-fall, she thinks bitterly, pushing herself off the floor on a shaky arm.  Her legs aren’t any better, wobbling like jello as she half-drags herself onto her bed.
She’s going to be bombarded by Satoru and Shoko later, for this defiant act, she knows.  And even as her strength is giving out and her vision is blurring in focus, she thinks it was what she had to do.
She tries to plan on what she’s going to do tomorrow when she sees the Fushiguro kids, but she loses consciousness just as their faces flicker in her mind.
Using Hexing Eye without a hex on the place she was warping to still wasn’t a viable form of transportation.
A tear slips down her cheek as she passes out, still in her uniform, mind still swarming with half-baked strategy plans, and fear.
Despite finally getting a few hours of sleep after two days, it wasn’t a night of rest. ___
When (y/n) picks up the Fushiguro kids from school the following afternoon, they can see her weariness right away.  Even though she smiles, and excitedly asks about how their last couple days had been, they can see through it all.
The bags under her eyes are dark and heavy, and she’s moving slower, almost stumbling over her own feet.  Tsumiki and Megumi share a look of concern, neither of them knowing how to approach the subject.  As involved as (y/n) was in their lives, she hadn’t been very open about her own life outside of them.
Tsumiki takes her hand as they walk home together.  She knew she wouldn’t be strong enough to catch her if she fell, but she hoped that it was enough to bring her some sense of comfort.
Megumi tangles his fingers together, picking at his skin nervously.  He’s reminded of the day in the park, when he’d seen her talking to a supposed friend from her school.  He remembers how she’d looked when she’d told him that a fellow peer of hers had passed away.
She has that same look in her eye now, he notices.
(y/n) feels him staring at her, and when she looks down at him, she gives him a smile.
It looks genuine enough, but he knows it isn’t.  It doesn’t reach her eyes.
Once they get back to the Fushiguro house, (y/n) is quick to whip them up an afternoon snack while they get started on their homework.  Tsumiki and Megumi get right to work, quietly focused on their assignments.
(y/n) sets down the plate of snacks between them, quietly praising them for working so hard.
As she takes a seat next to Tsumiki, Megumi notices the way her body seems to slump into the chair, as though melting into it.  He quickly lowers his gaze back to his homework, but the sight troubles him.
She looked like she was going to drop and pass out any moment.
He tries not to worry about it, because she might not be a real grown up, but she was older than he was, and she was always put together like a real grown up.  Megumi knew that he looked up to her like a grown up, and grown ups didn’t look like this.
He didn’t know what he was looking at, really.
Both kids finish up their homework quickly, and are quick to gather on the sofa to watch tv and relax for the evening.
(y/n’s) slower, still sat at the kitchen table while they dove into their program.  She was still mulling over her options, trying to figure out if it was wrong to hide the letter from them, or if it would be more wrong to tell them about such an adult matter.
Which wasn’t fair, she cursed herself, hanging her head in her hands.  She wasn’t an adult either, she shouldn’t have to deal with all of these decisions either.
Despite her better judgment, she decides to put it off for just a little longer.
She gets up from her seat, and slowly makes her way over to the living room sofa, plopping herself in the space between both kids.
“So, what are we watching? Catch me up” She tells them with a smile, and Tsumiki happily fills her in on the drama in her favorite characters’ lives.
(y/n) tries to sink back into that familiar, domestic feeling she’d grown accustomed to when she’d first joined their lives.  That sense of normalcy that she’d tethered herself to.  But even as she engages with Tsumiki, asks her silly questions about the show, she can’t help but fear this may very well be the last normal night she spends with them.  Tomorrow was Friday, so she wouldn’t see them, and the next day… well, the next day she’d have to face the Zen’in Clan.
Before her mind can derail further, (y/n) feels eyes burning in the back of her head, and she turns to see Megumi staring up at her, completely turned away from the tv.
His expression is neutral, but his eyes are hard as he holds his stare on her.  She almost feels uncomfortable, but she covers it with a small chuckle and a quirked brow.
“Somethin’ wrong, Megumi?” She asks.
His eyes shift to his sister, who gives a small shake of her head, warning him not to say anything about (y/n’s) troubling demeanor.  Megumi sighs, and sinks back into the couch, focused on the tv again.
“No” he mumbles back to her.
He’s not a good liar, but he’s eight, so (y/n) lets it go.  He seems to relax as he watches the show, anyway, so she figured whatever it was, couldn’t be too big of a deal.
The rest of the night continues in the same way.  Until eventually she’s bringing them both upstairs to put them to bed, just like she always does on nights she spends with them.  Except tonight, Tsumiki hugs her for a little longer than usual, and Megumi lingers in front of his bed, unwilling to get it.
“Megumi,” (y/n) calls softly from his doorway.  “Are you alright?”
He turns around to face her, revealing the book in his hands.  Charlotte’s Web.
He hesitates before speaking.
“I’m not tired…” He says, but his voice sounds slow and sleepy.  “Will you read to me for a bit?”
(y/n) smiles, nodding her head back at him.
“Yeah,” She agrees, not thinking twice about the time, or how she should be getting back to Jujutsu Tech soon.  “Yeah, of course”
“Can we go back to the couch?” He asks.
(y/n) wants to ask why she can’t read to him while he’s tucked into bed like she usually did, but she quickly assumes he’s just being a kid that wants to fight sleep, so she nods her head.
“Sure” She agrees with a smile, and steps out of the doorway so he could lead the way down the stairs.
Megumi climbs onto the couch with his book in one hand, his other hand reaching for the ratty old throw blanket on the cushion beside him.  (y/n) takes a seat beside him, taking the book and flipping to the page that he’d last marked.
“How many times have you read this now, anyways?” She asks.
Megumi ducks his head shyly, shrugging his shoulders.
“I dunno,” He admits.  “It’s my favorite”
She smiles as she looks back at the page before her.
“It’s becoming my favorite too” She says, before she starts at the top, and begins reciting the story she’s told him many times before.
She gets through about a chapter and a half, with Megumi curled up in his blanket beside her, his eyes following along as she reads.  He’d had most of the story memorized by now, it really was his favorite, but he couldn’t get enough of it.
“Hey, (y/n)?”
His voice is quiet when he cuts her off mid sentence, but (y/n) stops speaking instantly, turning to give him her attention.
“What is it?” She hums, her finger holding her place in the book.
“Tsumiki said it was rude to ask,” He began, his eyes focused on his lap.  “Are you okay?”
(y/n’s) brow furrows in concern, but Megumi doesn’t look up, too busy playing with his fingers.
“It’s not rude…” She says slowly, trying to find the right thing to say.  “And I’m okay”
It’s not very convincing.
Megumi looks up at her, blinking his wide eyes as he stares at her in disbelief.
“You don’t look okay,” He says, and it’s blunt, but it’s the truth, and he doesn’t know how else to make her be truthful with him, too.  “You look tired.  And sick”
(y/n) chuckles at how intuitive he is.
“I appreciate the concern, honey,” She says, trying to play it off.  “But don’t worry about it, I’m just fine”
“Did you have another mission?” He asks.
(y/n) winces, shaking her head.
“No, not exactly,” She says honestly.  “I’ve just been… busy… that’s all”
Megumi frowns, not caring for the bullshit answer.  It wasn’t like her to lie like most adults did, when they thought they were being smart and misdirecting.  (y/n) almost laughs at how such a young boy can tell when she’s beating around the bush.
“Megumi, you don’t need to worry about me-”
“But you worry about us all the time,” He mumbles defeatedly.  “And you don’t look very good so… so we’re worried about you,”
He blinks, and (y/n) swears she even sees tears in his eyes.  Fretting over him, she closes the book, and brings one leg onto the couch so she could face him properly.
“Can you just tell me the truth?” He asks quietly.
(y/n) sighs, but nods her head.  When he asks her so sincerely, she can’t bear to lie to him again.
“Of course,” She says, because if he’s telling her it’s what he needs, then it must be the right thing to do.  “Megumi…” She starts, but the words fail her as soon as she tries.
How does she explain her situation to an eight year old?
“I… I had a friend.  A close friend,” She begins.
Megumi’s eyes widened.
“A boyfriend?”
“No,” (y/n) scoffs, pushing his shoulder gently.  “I’m too busy raising kids, I don’t have time for a boyfriend.  But this was my best friend.  And he… well he recently left the school”
“The one from the park?” Megumi tilts his head.
(y/n) frowns, before turning her face away to quickly hide the sadness of the whole situation she’d been trying to bury.  It appeared she had quite a friends that weren’t around anymore, for whatever their reason.  Megumi also frowns at this.
“No… no this is a different friend,” (y/n) says quietly.  “Do you remember when I told you about the sorcerers who… who don’t want to follow the rules?”
“That they defect?” Megumi asks.
If it didn’t break her heart, (y/n) would praise him for his sharp memory.
“That’s right,” She murmurs.  “Well… that’s what’s happened to my friend,” She tells him.  “He didn’t want to follow the rules anymore, so… he left”
“Oh…” Megumi looks back down at his lap.  “Did he die?” He asks quietly.
“No, no he didn’t die,” (y/n) said.
She lays her palm between his shoulder blades, rubbing his back comfortingly.  Even as she censors some of the truth from him, she feels like her words are still putting a weight on his shoulders.
“I’ve been sad because he left,” She tells him.  “I probably won’t ever see him again”
I hope I don’t see him again, she thinks.
“That’s worse,” Megumi says sadly.  “I’d rather know that they’re gone forever for a reason”
(y/n) feels her heart leap into her throat, and she can’t help but wonder if he’s thinking about his dad.  She’s surprised a child so young could understand how she feels.  It hurts her more, knowing he’s experienced this same heartache.
“I think I’d have to agree,” (y/n) hums, raising her hand to mess up his hair.  Megumi looks up at her with a frown.  “It’s not easy being a Jujutsu Sorcerer,” She tells him.  “I never said it was easy, never thought it’d be easy…”
Megumi pulls her hand out of his hair before she could mess it up further, before he fixes the messy locks himself.
(y/n) looks at him, and swallows the lump in her throat that makes her want to cry.  If only he were older and she could explain all of this to him.
“But listen, Megumi,” She leans forward, and hopes he can take her seriously, even for just a minute.  “You don’t have to worry about me, okay? I’ll be just fine,” She gives him a smile.  “I’m sorry I made you worry, but you don’t have to worry that little head of yours about me anymore, alright?”
Megumi isn’t sure if he should believe her, but she ruffles his hair again with a laugh just to mess with him, and when he swats her hand away she only laughs more, so he thinks she’s okay, for now.
“You know you don’t have to raise us, right?” He asks.
(y/n’s) eyes widen at him, stunned to silence.
“It’s okay, if… if you have to go.  You have a lot to do, don’t you?” Megumi drops his head again.  “We would understand.  We would be okay”
Her heart breaks, and before thinking, she reaches out and wraps her arms around him, hugging him tightly.
“Megumi, I’ve told you before,” She has to focus on keeping her voice even.  “I’m sticking around whether you want me to or not”
His hands cling to the back of her shirt.
“There’s nothing that would make me leave you guys.  I knew what I was getting into when I met you both.  I knew what I was getting into when I started looking for you.  And I’m still not going anywhere”
She rubs his back and keeps hugging him until he pulls away.  Her focus remains on him, and she frowns when she sees tears on his face.  Her fingers gently reach out to brush them away.
“I know you won’t just leave” Megumi sniffles.
(y/n) takes his little hands, smiling at him fondly.
“I won’t ever leave,” She whispers.  “I’ve put a lot of trouble into watching out for you two.  You’re important to me.  And I’m going to make sure you guys can have everything you want”
Megumi musters up a small smile.
“Okay,” He mumbles, pulling his hands away to wipe the rest of the wetness off of his face.  “Can you read a little more?”
(y/n) smiles warmly, and nods her head.
“Of course,” She says, picking the book up again, flipping through the pages to find the spot she lost.
Megumi gathers himself up in the blanket once more, and when she finally finds their place and begins reading again, he leans against her arm.  He might have an eight year old’s willpower to stay up late, but the tiredness had finally caught up to him.
It didn’t take long before he fell asleep against her.  (y/n) stayed still for a while, marking her place in the book and setting it aside while she sat quietly with the sleeping boy.
She petted his head gently, untangling the knots in his hair with careful fingers, and making his body relax more as he drifted deeper into his slumber.  Even long after he’d fallen asleep there, she remained by his side.
I hope you believe me, Megumi, she thinks as she lays her own head against the back of the couch cushion, suddenly finding the old thing the most comfortable place she’s ever rested.  And I hope you forgive me.
She drifts off to sleep with her hand on his head, and hopeful thoughts that she can do right by him. ___
With a jolt, (y/n’s) body is thrown forward in bed, tears streaming down her face and her hand outstretched, reaching for an imaginary figure, one that had been suffering before her in her dreams, but now was nowhere to be seen.
Panting to catch her breath, she tries to tell herself it was just that, a dream.  Well, a nightmare.  It was over now.
“(y/n)?” A tired, raspy voice rang out, before a warm hand smoothed over her shoulder.  “You alright, sweetheart?”
“Satoru,” She breathes out his name as she turns to face him, a relief spreading through her chest upon seeing him there.  “You’re here”
Her breathing steadies as she looks at him, his sleepy eyes and disheveled hair a sign that he’d actually been sleeping comfortably.  She was surprised, considering he’d spent most of his nights in her room to dote on her, to ensure she was the one that slept well.  Since Yu’s death, she’d been plagued with nightmares, the reminder that even jujutsu sorcerers face their mortality had been brutal.
“Well ‘course I am,” Satoru mumbles, giving her a small smile.  “Where else would I be?”
She’s not sure why, but when she’d first laid eyes on him, his presence had shocked her before it had relaxed her.  Her brows furrow as she wonders why that is, but she quickly brushes it off and lets herself relax.
The nightmare was over.  She was here now, and so was he.
With languid movements, Satoru props himself up on his elbows, his eyes flickering over her curiously.
“You wanna talk about it?” He asks, pulling his hand from her shoulder to rub the tiredness out of his eyes.  “Your nightmare?”
(y/n) pulls her knees to her chest, keeping her arms wrapped around them so she could comfortably rest her chin there.  The longer she was awake, the more the horrors of her dream seemed to fade away, until it was just a few flashes of images that barely made sense.
“I think I’ll be alright,” She replies, laying her cheek against her folded arms so she could look over at him.  “Satoru,” She hums his name softly.  “Thank you, for staying with me,”
He gave her a look, displaying his confusion with her sudden sentiment.
“I don’t think I ever thanked you,” She says.  “And I should have, a long time ago.  So, thank you.  For everything”
Satoru sits up, mimicking her position as he rests his arms on his legs, staring at her with an intensity behind his cerulean eyes that only she seemed to be able to take on directly.
“You want to thank me…” He says slowly, before his brows furrow.  “When all of this… has been your doing?”
The chill that shoots down her spine seems to spread over her heart.  The relaxation that had settled into her bones now replaced with freezing cold fear.  (y/n) lifts her head up, unblinking as she stared at him.
“What?” She mumbles, her voice barely audible.
“You couldn’t track down Toji, and I almost died” Satoru spits out.
“No…” (y/n) shook her head in a small but trembling motion.  “No, I… I followed him for days I- I did everything I could to-”
“Tch,” Satoru scoffs, the disgust evident in his face now as he glares at her.  “And then you don’t even have the guts to fess up,” He mutters.  “You sneak around and lie and cheat.  What makes you think it will be any different?”
As he snarls at her he shoots forward, and she flinches, hard enough she had to steady herself so she didn’t tumble out of her bed.
“You think that you can protect them? You?”
She’s still shaking her head, unable to find her voice, or any words to defend herself.  Where was this coming from? Why was he doing this?
“You can barely operate your own cursed technique, you have the ability of a first year, and you’re spineless, (y/n).  It’s pathetic that you consider yourself a jujutsu sorcerer”
“‘I- I’m doing everything I-” She tries to speak, but it’s useless.  Her breath had gone ragged and the panic inside of her was bubbling up too much for her to focus on speaking.
Satoru leans closer, and even though they’re both sitting, he towers over her as his glare hardens.  She’s never seen him so filled with hate, and the fact that it’s directed at her makes her heart drop to her stomach.
“Your ‘everything’ isn’t good enough,” His voice is a low growl.
Tears burn in her eyes.
“How can you be the only one that doesn’t see that?” He laughs bitterly.  “How are you the only one left that can’t see how weak you are?”
“I- I’m sorry-”
“Even your apologies mean nothing!” He yells now, and she squeezes her eyes shut so she doesn’t have to look at him any more.  “You’re destined to fail, you’re weak, just like the rest of them.  You can barely protect yourself, you think you can protect Megumi? Tsumiki?”
“I have to try!” She wails, but it’s drowned out by his vicious laughter.
“And when you fail, their blood will be on your hands!” He’s practically roaring over her.
She’s cowering, sobbing into her hands as she desperately attempts to wipe the tears from her face, but it’s no use.  They won’t stop.  Satoru scoffs at the sight, disgusted by what she’d been reduced to.
“Face it,” He mutters.  “You could have stopped Toji, and you failed.  You could have stopped Suguru, and you failed.  Now you think you can take on the Zen’in Clan?” He scoffs and shakes his head.  “You’ll die in vain” ___
“Stop it!”
(y/n) shot outwards, her strained voice leaving her throat in a pained cry, but as the blur in her vision clears away, and she gains her bearings, she realizes she’d just awoken.
A dream? She thought distantly, looking around herself, finding she was still in the Fushiguro’s living room.
That’s right… I fell asleep here… reading…
But she finds that Megumi is no longer sleeping at her side, and the blanket he’d had was now thrown over her lap.  He must have woken up and gone back to his room.  The realization that he’d given her the blanket to keep her warm brings her a moment of peace.  Picking up the ratty material that was barely enough to keep her legs covered, (y/n) begins to calm down.
Her breathing calms, and she closes her eyes to focus on bringing herself back to the present.  It was all just a cruel dream.
However it’s not as easy when she’s alone, she realizes.  There was a time, although short, where when the nightmares would rob her of her sleep, there was always a comforting presence right there, ready to lull her back to sleep with a warm embrace.
And sometimes he’d read to me, she recalls.
Although the plaguing images of her nightmare had worn away from her mind now, she still feels a wetness pool in her eyes.
She missed him.  Dearly so.
A tear drops to her cheek against her will, and soon she was quietly weeping into her hands.
Deciding to lay back on the couch, she gives in to staying the rest of the night at the Fushiguro house.  She’d never stayed the entire night, but she was long past curfew now, and she was in no position to walk or warp back to Jujutsu Tech.  She carefully pulls the small blanket over herself as she settles into the cushions.  Her tears wet the place where she lays her head.
If she survived this, she’d have to thank him, for all the nights he stayed by her side, she recalls the short period of warmth that her dream had brought her.  She hopes she can drift back into it’s sweetness.  And then she’ll have to get on her knees and apologize for the rest of her life.
She knows she won’t earn Satoru’s forgiveness.
If I survive. ___

"Why didn't you use your divine dogs?" you coughed, frustration evident in your voice as you pressed your hands onto the deep wound on your side, trying to stop the heavy bleeding. It was easily avoidable; you wouldn't have had to suffer the blow if your boyfriend had reacted as he usually did. But he looked at you from above, his eyes piercingly cold.
"I've decided they're unnecessary," he shrugged, unfazed by the crimson that was slowly soaking through your clothes. "Shoko will probably heal you, it doesn't look critical."
"Wow, that's great, thanks Megumi," muttering, you collected yourself from the ground and went straight to the car, so that Ijichi could drive you back to the high school and you could seek medical help. Fushiguro followed and in the back seat, you leaned against his shoulder, trying to find some comfort in the pain that pulsed through your nervous system, but he flinched the moment your head rested on his body.
"Can you sit up straight? I'm kinda tired."
"And I'm bleeding. What's the matter, Megu?"
"Well, you got what you deserved."
"What I deserv- what does that even mean, what I deserved?" you couldn't believe what you were hearing. One thing you were certain of – Megumi was angry and you had no idea why.
Two days had passed since Megumi had deliberately refused to help you on the battlefield. Your wounds were messy, but Shoko managed to treat them so well that you couldn't feel much more than subtle discomfort in your side, and to be honest, you were more consumed by thoughts of your partner's unusual behavior than anything else. Back in the car, he avoided any further conversation, turned his body to the window, sneering and paying you no mind for the entire ride, and you gave up trying to force the issue. When you arrived, he simply went his way, leaving you covered in blood, fortunately in the hands of Ijichi.
But his act had to have a reason, he wouldn't go all mad and pouty for nothing, and he certainly wouldn't endanger you for nothing. Well, you liked to think he wouldn't put you in danger even if you suddenly became his enemy, but things apparently changed.
"Megumi, may I?" you asked, knocking lightly on his door and pressing the handle, only to find that he locked the entrance. "Hey, Megu, we should talk."
"Do we have anything to talk about? I'm a little busy," his voice reached your ears from inside the room, a tone indifferent and cold, but you knew better than to believe it. There was a subtle undertone of hurt in both his voice and his demeanor, and the fact that you might have done something to hurt him sent you into a spiral of guilt and panic attacks. You spent two nights unable to sleep because of the raging thoughts in your head.
"Please talk to me, I need to know what happened. Hey, baby?" you tried, knocking again, this time softly, just to let him know that you're close and waiting. "Megumi, I won't leave before we talk. I'll stay here even if for the whole night."
Fushiguro groaned in annoyance. He really had no desire to look at you, listen to you or do anything with you. The fake, poisonous smiles you had been giving him for the last month made him sick of you, of Itadori, shit, he was even angry at Nobara, because who else would know everything if not her. Megumi felt stupid for not noticing it earlier, but when it hit him, it hit him hard.
That day, a month ago, he returned to school earlier than planned. His solo mission went smoother than expected and his mood was light and bright when he got out of Ijichi's car. He hoped to quickly reunite with his friends, who he always said annoyed him, but everyone knew it was his way of showing affection. He was also especially happy to reunite with you, his absolute best companion, a favorite person in the world, his love and his girlfriend. Quietly, as he always did, he approached Itadori's room, from where a mixture of soft laughter reached his ears. The doors were unlocked, slightly ajar, and he wanted to push them open, but then he heard your voice.
"We can't tell Fushiguro about this," you said cheerfully, your tone breathless and absolutely worn out, and he knew that sound. He heard it before, so he held his breath and peeked inside.
"He would feed me to his dogs if he knew," Itadori was just as exhausted, joyful as he held you in his arms, lying on the bed with you on top of him. Quickly, Megumi retreated and padded back to his own room, as if he hadn't seen anything, but the image stood clear and sharp in front of his eyes, every time he saw you after that. On the same day, you approached him with open arms, with so much something that he thought was love. He couldn't help but wonder what was it if not love?
His door swung open aggressively, almost making you trip, and when you looked up at him, you could see anger twisting his usually calm features. Your heart clenched at the sight of his furrowed brow, his narrow, dark eyes, and his tight jaw.
"Gumi, hey," you tried to reach for his hand, but he pulled back, letting you into his room but refusing to touch you. "Did I do something to hurt you?"
"I don't know, did you?" he snapped, kicking his doors shut with a loud thud.
"You tell me. Please, Megu, I don't understand what's gotten into you lately. Yuji told me that you avoid him as much as you avoid me, we're both confused, I-"
"Of course, Yuji cried to you about it. You seem close, huh?"
"We're friends?"
"Friends, sure," Megumi stood tall above you and you looked up at him with so much confusion, it angered him even more. Unable to control his emotions, he grabbed your wrist and pushed you against the nearest wall, slamming his other hand right next to your head. You winced, shocked to the core and genuinely frightened by the sudden burst of aggression. You knew, you hoped, that he wouldn't hurt you, but as you remembered your last mission together, you began to have doubts.
"Megu-"
"I saw you." he cut in. " A month ago, I saw you and Itadori in his room. Panting, you were lying on top of him, laughing that you could not tell me about it," Megumi scoffed, almost freezing you to death with his icy gaze and his equally cold tone. "Hah, Itadori was afraid that I would feed him to my dogs if I found out, and to be honest, I thought about it, but I don't want them to get sick."
"What? Christ, I would never..."
"You're always so bubbly and touchy with Itadori, and I get it, I'm not that warm and emotional, I guess, but if it's not me you want, then why bother, huh?" he growled, spitting words with rage as his fingers dug into the wall next to your head. “I couldn’t give you what you wanted, so you cheated with my best friend?”
“Megumi, it’s not what it looks like.”
"If it's not what it looks like, then what is it? How could you end up so out of breath, in my friend's bed, on top of him, huh?"
You were silent for a moment. All his words hurt you to the core, and you tried to replay the situation he's referring to. You remembered that day you were in Yuji's room, but were you that careless to draw a picture so suggestive?
"Why didn't you tell me earlier that you saw this? Why didn't you tell me anything?" you asked, exhaling deeply, angry at yourself for hurting the boy you loved so much. "I never wanted to hurt you, Megumi."
"I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt, you know? I tried to find a reasonable explanation for what I saw and I watched your interactions with Yuji. It all seems pretty self-explanatory."
"It's really not like that."
"Fuck, I hate this," he groaned, stepping back and distancing himself from you in a few large steps. It hurt, it hurt him so much. You were his first love and Yuji was his first friend and yet the two of you, together, behind his back. He couldn't understand it, he hated it. "Why the hell are you lying? I saw you. I heard you."
"Megumi," you tried, but he didn't listen. Every time you wanted to grab him, to ground him, he just snapped your hands away, looked at you with so much pain that it felt like the sadness in his voice burned scars on your skin, seeped into your heart. You wanted to cry, you wanted to hug him and tell him it's okay, it's not like that, but he wouldn't listen. He wouldn't let you speak, he snapped at you harder and harder. His hands flew, his eyes tore you apart. You saw the glisten of tears in them, he was so hurt and you knew that if he started to cry, you'd lose it.
Forcibly, you took him by his clothes, then wrapped your hands around his middle and spun him around. Losing his balance, he grabbed your shoulders trying to stop the momentum, but you pulled him through the dance. Finally, his knees hit the edge of his bed and he collapsed with your weight on top of him.
"This is pretty much how I ended up on top of Yuji in his bed," you explained, loosening your grip around him. "But with less force and more joy. We were happy, we laughed and hugged. Yuji is strong, he lifted me up, turned some circles and lost his balance." A sigh left your lungs as you rolled off of his body and fell onto the bed next to him. "We were planning for your birthday. We know you hate that day because Gojo always does something so extra and embarrassing... we wanted to take you on a trip, just you, me, Yuji and Kugisaki. We planned movies, mini golf, lots of your favorite foods and also some general chill, away from Jujutsu high and Gojo-sensei. But Yuji insisted on doing something cheesy, like bringing you the biggest cake with our wishes hand-written on it, and making it dark and fancy, but with bursting sprinkles inside, so that when you cut into it, you'd automatically be covered in colorful confetti. Yeah, he thought you'd feed him to your dogs if you found out. This was all supposed to be a surprise for you, we already made some arrangements. Fuck, we knew you'd probably hate the idea of a party anyway, so we were desperate to keep it secret, and we planned most of it while you were away on missions."
"What are you talking about...? My birthday is-"
"In a month. It's already November, your birthday is in few weeks."
Megumi fell silent. The year flew by, he didn't even notice a change in the weather, he just lived through it somehow, and now it was almost December. Everything you said echoed in his head, somehow slowly making more and more sense. He was so focused on finding proof of your affair with Yuji that he had ignored every remark Nobara made about the upcoming party. And lately, you were making more calls, always stepping aside so he wouldn't hear you. A few times he saw you sneaking out with Yuji, who was smiling like an idiot. Megumi didn't even think of any other reason for all that.
"So that's it?"
"Yes, idiot. I love Yuji, he's like my brother. You are my boyfriend, you are my absolute favorite grumpy and pouty person in the whole universe. I wish you would have come to me sooner.”
"I hate surprises..." Fushiguro grumbled and covered his face with his hands, feeling stupid but also relieved. It was as if the heaviest weight had been lifted from his shoulders, his chest felt lighter than it had in weeks, and he began to laugh. "Damn, how I hate surprises."
"Well, that's good, because this one is definitely ruined," you muttered, getting up from the bed. "But now you're going to pretend like you don't know anything and you're going to take this confetti right in your face and thank for it, because I'm not going to ruin Yuji and Nobara's efforts with the fact that I had to tell you."
"Okay," he sat up as well and wrapped his arms around your waist, preventing you from walking away as he pressed his face to your stomach. "I'm sorry."
"It's alright, baby," you brushed through his hair with your fingers.
"And I'm sorry I let you get hurt."
"Well, I still love you, so I guess that's okay too."

Runaway
Tumblr media
You were a relatively newer student. You normally kept to yourself but you always dreamt of being friends with the main trio, especially with the infamous Suguru Geto. Yet, he always seemed to hate you, even when you openly showed you felt the opposite.
pairings: suguru geto x reader
warnings and whatnots : I was gonna end it here but i wanted some conflict hehe. So probably part 6 will be the end. Pride and prejudice mentions. Angst. I apologise in advance. Sorry for short chapter and late release have been busy 😔😔🙏🙏. Not proofread.
chapter 1 : are we still friends? chapter 2 : can we be friends? chapter 3 : sorry, not sorry chapter 4 : green looks good on you. chapter 5: [currently reading] chapter 6: burn.
You scanned the books on the shelf, you index finger nudging the edges.
The notifications on your phone going crazy, irritating you. You click your tongue as you look at the messages in the groupchat.
Gojo Hate Group ⁉️⁉️
Satoru 🧑🏻‍🦳: Me and shoko going out coz books r for nerds and ITS BORING
Shoko 🚬: Have fun lovebirds
Suguru 💔: wtf? Where are you both going?
Satoru 🧑🏻‍🦳: NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS SHOKO HURRY UP BEFORE HE CATCHES US
Satoru 🧑🏻‍🦳: OMG I CAN SEE SUGURU HE LOOKS PISSED
Satoru 🧑🏻‍🦳: SHOKO
Suguru 💔: Where the hell are you.
Shoko🚬: LMAO
You click your tongue, peering out the store window to see Satoru and Shoko leave the store in a hurry. Shoko gives you a sly smile, a small thumbs up while mouthing a small ‘you can do it.’
Note to self: kill Satoru and Shoko when you go back.
“They abandoned us.” A sudden voice says from behind you. You turn quickly, almost losing your balance on the smooth wooden floor.
A hand grabs your waist, stabilising you ensuring that you didn’t fall and make a mess on the floor.
Your eyes widen as you look at Suguru who was standing in front of you. He stared back, his eyebrows slightly lifted up in shock. Why was he shock? Your face heats up as his hand retracts.
A pang of sadness hits you as you felt his hand leave you, yet the way his fingers grazed your skin drove you mad. What was he doing?
“Yeah… they did.” You turn away from him, swallowing your saliva as you feel him come closer to you. This was insane. What was he doing? Didn’t he hate you? Was Shoko right?
“What are you buying?” He asks, looking at the book in your hand. He scoffs as he looks at it.
You eye him down hearing his scoff. “I’ll let you know Pride and Prejudice is an amazing book.”
“I know, I’ve read it.”
You look at him curiously as his eyes move from the book to you.
“You remind me of Elizabeth. Hot-headed and always thinks you’re right. Oh and your quips, you think your so smart huh?” Suguru says, hands in his pockets as he stares you down. What was he saying? Satoru told him to be nice and confess his ever so obvious ‘feelings’ for you but he didn’t understand. What feelings were Satoru talking about? The feeling of his stomach turning every time he saw you? How he craved to be near you, to see what you were doing. To see you walk around in your own world?
“Oh? You remind me of Darcy, prideful, tact and socially inept.” You say, finger pressing on his chest.
He laughs.
“You wish I was the Darcy to your Elizabeth.” I wish it too.
You huff, crossing your arms. It drove him crazy how you looked. Your clothes matching his. He stares at you, observing the way your hair parted and how your lips were sewed tightly into a frown. It was cute.
To the untrained eye, you would’ve looked like a couple in a small argument. In your eyes, you wished he was your boyfriend and having a small argument. Yet, you knew it was probably never happening.
“Whatever…” You blow him off, trudging off to the counter to pay for your book, Suguru following closely behind you.
“Just this please.” You say to the lady at the counter, old in age. She smiles at you, her wrinkles becoming more prominent. She takes the book, smiling as she looks at you and Suguru who stands behind you, glued to his phone.
“You and your boyfriend are cute, I saw you both squabbling over there and I couldn’t help but remember my late husband. We were just like you, always arguing.”
The woman didn’t take her eyes off the book as she talks, your face turns red as you bit your lip, unsure of what to say. You turn back to see Suguru, a small smile etched on his face as he looks at the old woman. His eyes glance at you. His smile drops before he clears his throat.
“Oh, we’re… we’re not a thing, we’re just…friends.”
Suguru feigns a smile as he talks to the woman. She smiles back.
Friends. Friends. Friends. The word replays in his mind. He wanted to be more than that. He wanted to be more than friends. Why? What was so intriguing about you? You were just some random person! Was he mad? Was he delirious? Had he not felt anyone’s touch for so long he was willing to try it with you? No, if that was true he would’ve gone for Satoru or Shoko. You appealed to him. What was it with you? Did you release a pheromone that attracted him to you? What was he thinking?
“Thank you ma’am.” You smile politely at the woman. She smiles back, sympathy and hope in her eyes. Did she notice your feelings? Seems like everyone noticed except Suguru himself. No, he did notice. He just didn’t want it. That was worse. “Suguru let’s go hunt those idiots down.” You say, punching his shoulder as you walk to the entrance.
You found them in a nearby cafe, by nearby, it was around a 2.5 kilometre walk. Suguru and you talked, smiling. It was the first time you did so in a while. The walk that lasted for roughly 20-30 minutes evolved from tension filled to dumb jokes and quips. Suguru watches as you laugh. He missed this you.
As you saw them through the cafe window, you wave out to them. Shoko smiles at you as she urges you and him to come inside. You nod, going to join them. Yet, a hand stops you before you could make a move.
What was he doing?
“y/n. Can we talk?” Suguru says, his voice low as he pulls you to the side, away from your friends’ sight.
“What’s up?” You scratch your skin, eyes bouncing off the walls before finally landing on his’. His’ that were already staring into yours. You gulp.
“I like you.”
huh?
“I like you and it’s stupid and annoying but you’re stuck in my head and i thought it was hate because of how annoying you are and that maybe you’re just an annoying monkey but when Satoru touched you I get tingly and I hate that and…” He rambles on, stopping to look at your face. “Oh my god you’re such an idiot but I goddamn like you?”
You stare at his wide eye, his hand still wrapped around your wrist. He stares back, awaiting an answer. Without a thought, you pull back your hand from his wrist.
“I’m sorry Suguru…”
You ran, ran off to wherever it was as long as he couldn’t find you. Why were you running? You liked him back? Yet, your feet carried you away. Your feelings were about to burst and you didn’t know what to do about it.
‘Run’. Your mind told you.
‘I’ll run.’ Your legs whispered back.
It was like you were just a mere bystander to your body’s conversation. You didn’t know what to do.
So you ran, leaving a broken man behind.

Hi can you do more gojo headcanons please💕💕
hiiii
i have one or a few HCs thats been marinating in my head for a while;
I think Gojo is a virgin. I believe at most he has kissed a girl, but he was drunk and when Geto told him what he did he never touched alcohol since then. He wants to have sex, but no girl around him has peaked his interest yet.
Mind you— even though he has never had sex he canonically is really good at it because he can perfect anything he tries.
I think Gojo likes to use ASL to speak to Geto. They both learned together and when they want to gossip they just speak in sign language.
I think Gojo once tries being vegan for a day because Geto was for a few months and immediately quit after realizing he couldn’t have most of his favorite sweets
Gojo wants a girlfriend. He jokes, but he does want one. When he comes home (which is rarely) sometimes he wishes he had someone to come home to. He really wants one to annoy as well.
Gojo grew his hair out a few times, but he looked too girly so he cut it back short.
He cuts his own hair
His love language is touch, gift giving, acts of service and annoying ur soul
Gojo’s favorite movies are the Bad Boyz Series, Rush Hour, Bettlejujce, Ferries Buellrs Day Off, and almost every Disney movie
Gojo doesn’t believe in horoscopes, star signs, and stuff like that. He mocks people that do.
He remembers little stuff about you/people he loves but dont point it out he gets embarrassed.
He’s a small Tsundere to the girl he likes. He’s ruined a few chances with women because of this.
He goes to Geto for advice with talking to them but he uses stupid excuses like “Lets say HYPOTHETICALLY a guy we knew HYPOTHETICALLY liked this girl…”
He’s love legos.
His ideal date is at his place, you both cook together, play some dumb games, and watch a new show to binge all night. He takes it over a fancy date any day.
He doesn’t realize how rich he is. He KNOWS but spending money is nothing to him so if you were out telling him not to buy an expensive dress for you. He simply wont understand and get it for you anyways.
He’s more giving than he’d like to admit.
Gojo likes moments where it’s just you and him sitting in a room in silence doing yall own thing. He loves it even more when he can blurt out something random and you both just start chatting it up as if you both wasnt quiet for a whole 2 hours.
Gojo loves it when people are happy to see HIM. He loves to feel wanted
Gojo will never make you feel left out. Introverted or not he will make sure you’re comfortable wherever you both go
Gojo likes to be held, there’s a few times he has laid on Geto/Shoko’s lap and fell asleep

I looked at the prompt list, but i literally COULD NOT decide, but i was thinking, what if Megumi or Tsumiki had a really bad nightmare? How would Gojo and Reader help them? I was thinking baby Megumi, in his sleepy, not being as menacing and just being scared and asking reader for help (cause gojo would bully him)
Also Ily, thank you for your service to society.
A/N: cryin screamin throwin up i can’t this was so sweet to write I think I got a cavity. Having soft sleepy baby Megumi made me so happy to write bc I feel he definitely had his vulnerable tiny little boy moments with these two after he settled in - still a prickly little cactus man most days but occasionally he just needed a cuddle - bc who wouldn’t? Especially if it’s Gojo giving them. Also ily and thank you so much these kind of messages MAKE MY FUCKIN DAY. Keep em coming!!!!!

A Little Extra Love
Tumblr media
Waking up to the sound of obvious nightmares wasn’t unusual for you. You’d been sleeping beside Satoru for a couple of years now, and you’ve shared rooms with Geto and Shoko - the four of you have seen too much shit to sleep unscathed. At least once a month, you’d be sitting with Satoru, still shaking and crying from the lingering feelings of fear and pain stemming from the nightmare - of Riko, of Suguru, of Toji - of losing you. You were no stranger yourself, dreams of bloodied white hair in your lap and vacant blue eyes with a stab wound through his throat plagued you - the image of Suguru holding a young girl's corpse, of the last time you saw Haibara all poisoned your sleep now and again.
So waking at 2am to the sounds of soft whimpers made you immediately turn around to wake your boyfriend from what you expected to be his nightmare - only to find him fast asleep, hair wild across the pillow and drool leaking from the corner of his mouth as he lay starfished across the bed. There was no relief however in seeing a peaceful Satoru - because that meant it was one of the kids.
They’d been with you for about 9 months now, and it was almost Megumi’s 7th birthday.
You bolted up, trying to stay silent as you creeped out your door and ran down the hallway to the kids rooms - the sound was coming from Megumi’s room so you softly opened the door and came face to face with a sight that broke your heart. Megumi was clutching his frog plush so tight that his small knuckles were white and his face was contorted in fear - whimpers and soft cries coming from his trembling mouth.
Dashing across to his bed, you gently sat on the bed beside him. You knew that waking anyone - let alone a 6 year old - abruptly from a nightmare would only cause more fear, so you began to softly coo his name and stroke his soft black hair away from his face. After about 20 seconds, you placed a hand on his little chest and rubbed soothing circles - causing his eyes to flash open and the frog to be clutched even tighter to his chest as he let out a yelp at whatever woke him, eyes wide and petrified frantically scanning the room before he surprised you by flinging his tiny arms around your neck and clutching you right and crawling his way into your lap.
“You’re okay sweet boy, you’re safe. It was a nasty dream, that’s all.” You coo into his hair, with the softest voice you can muster. You hate seeing him like this, you wish he didn’t have the trauma he did so he could worry about things normal little boys did instead.
He sniffled into your chest, head pressed into your fluffy pyjama top face first. You continue the slow cycles on his back and wrap your arm around his legs to keep his close to you.
“Do you wanna talk about it, baby?” You ask.
He shudders, but nods.
“He c-came to get us, my dad, he came in here and took me and ‘Miki and said w-we had to leave with him to the big Zen’in family and never come home again and h-he said you didn’t w-want us and-” and the sobs took over as you got the gist of the dream and if the ghost of Toji Fushiguro was in front of you right now you’d kill him and send him back to hell again.
“Oh, my sweet boy - that’s never gonna happen. We’re never leaving you or Tsumiki, we always will want you guys - we love you both so much. I promise, no matter how much me and Satoru annoy you guys you can’t get rid of us, ‘Kay? We’re a family now. Your dad isn’t taking you from us, pinky promise.”
‘Because your unofficially adopted father killed him and him and I threatened the Zen’in family so much that they’re too scared to come within a mile of you two!’ Is the bit you leave out.
You also leave out that you and Satoru are looking at legally adopting them - that’s for another, happier time.
He sticks his little pinkie finger out and locks it with yours, sniffling a tiny bit more and rubbing his face (snot and all) onto your koala print top, but you couldn’t care less when you can feel the shaking start to settle.
“We can stay with you guys forever, ‘Miki too? Even though she has no magic stuff like me and you guys because the Zen’in said that she wasn’t worth keeping and -” He asks.
“Megumi - we don’t want you two because of what you can or can’t do - we love you guys as Megumi and Tsumiki, nothing else. Even if neither of you could do any of that stuff, you’re stuck with us, okay? Satoru and I have enough magic to keep us all safe - the whole family, okay?” You hate the Zen’in family for even planting that fear in his little brain.
“I love you too.” He says as his tears dry and you wipe his little face. This is only the second time he’s said it to you both, once was a few weeks ago when you and Satoru put him to sleep and both whispered “love you!” into his softly lit room and he whispered “love you guys too.”
You both sobbed that night - you’re both only 21 - can’t be doing that bad of a job with them if he says it back, can you?
“You’re such a brave boy. If you get more yucky dreams again, you come get me or Satoru, okay?” You plonk a kiss on his spiky hair.
“Just you. Not Satoru.” He looks down, fiddling with your necklace.
“Why not, sweetie?”
“I - don’t want him to know.”
“About the nightmares?”
He nods.
“He - he’s the strongest. I don’t want him to think I’m not brave or strong.” He says, words that shouldn’t even compute that way in his head.
“Absolutely not - baby, who told you that being scared makes you not brave or strong?” You tilt his little head up.
“My dad.”
“Well your dad’s dumb then. You can only be really brave if you’re scared. Being scared and fighting anyway is the bravest thing a person can do, I promise. Think about it this way - who’s the bravest and strongest person you know?” You ask as he giggles at you saying Toji’s dumb (you’ve plenty of other names too for that man.)
“You and Satoru.” He says with such resolve your heart melts, you expected him to say Satoru, so being included felt good.
“Satoru and I both get nightmares too, I had one last week, Satoru a few nights ago. It doesn’t mean you’re not brave or strong - it just means you need a little extra love, that’s all.” You nod at him, and you seem the surprise in his eyes at the revelation that the strongest and bravest people he knows get nightmares too, shattering the words Toji had planted into smithereens. How could nightmares mean you’re not those things if you guys had them? You had to know, because you and Aunty Koko were the smartest people in the world. Maybe Ijichi too.
He’s quiet for a minute.
“So if I have a bad dream - I can come get you or Satoru?” He asks.
“You can get more or him for anything at all, honey, not just bad dreams. We’re always here for you, and nothing will change our minds about how much we love you, or how brave and strong and smart and kind you are - ‘Kay?” He nods into your chest at this.
He settles down, small fingers still fiddling with your pendant.
“C’mon, do you wanna come stay with us in our room tonight?” You say.
He thinks for a second.
Then nods, and yawns.
So you lift him onto your hip, ensuring he has his frog and his water bottle and carry him down the hall into your room. Satoru’s still splayed across the bed like he’s determined to use every single centimetre of his long ass body to claim territory.
You point at the drool on his face and Megumi giggles, hearing Satoru order dessert in his sleep.
You lay him down between you both, and crawl in under the covers as he settles in - the movement stirring Satoru, who’s eyes open and he looks in confusion.
“Princess whatcha doin’ up? S’late. Wait - what you doin’ here kid?” He slurs, lifting himself onto his side to face you both.
Megumi looks at you and you smile, tucking him into the bed with you both.
“‘Gumi had a bad dream, ‘toru - so he’s going to stay with us tonight, a little extra love - yeah?” You say, petting both your boys hair. ‘A little extra love’ was what you had said to Satoru when you found him awake after a nightmare back in first year of high school. He smiled at that, eyes dropping back closed as he ruffled Megumi’s hair.
“Bad dream are the worst, aren’t they kiddo? I hate ‘em. If any bad guys come near you I’ll blast them into space, ‘kay? You just shout for me in your dream and let me deal with ‘em.” Satoru mumbles, sleep quickly taking him again, as he shuffles in closer to the middle and you both wrap an arm around the little boy who is snuggling in to return to sleep.
“Promise?” Megumi asks, poking Satoru’s nose.
“Pinky promise.” Satoru replies, lips quirked but eyes shut.
Megumi smiles softly to himself, and hugs his frog and shuts his eyes.
You let out a yawn, eyes closing heavy.
“Goodnight boys, I love you both.”
“Night Y/N. Luh’ you too.” Megumi mumbles, hair splayed almost identically to Satoru’s.
“Night night, Princess. Love ya’ always, you too kiddo.”
No more nightmares that night, just four sleeping soundly in a quiet cottage.

The actors moved quickly on the set, getting to the correct positions before speaking their lines. But something was amiss, Geto didn’t seem as enthusiastic as usual. Everyone on set could tell his mind was focusing elsewhere and not on acting.
“Go talk to him,” Shoko nudged Gojo’s side.
“No,” Gojo said, “I said hi to him this morning and he gave me the nastiest side eye.”
“I would too if I had to see your face in the morning,” Shoko replied, earning a dramatic and loud gasp from the man beside her. “What could he be thinking about?”
The two of them watched as Geto sat on the chair placed near a camera. He was scrolling through his phone, a small smile spreading onto his face before it was replaced by a look of sadness and longing once again.
Shoko and Gojo tilted their heads at the same time. Trying to guess what could be troubling their dear friend.
“You both are idiots,” came Nanami’s voice from behind them. Both of them whipped around with a scandalized look on their faces.
“I am not!” they both exclaimed. It was kind of scary how in sync they were.
Nanami only moved to stand next to them. “It’s nearly Y/n and Suguru’s anniversary. He’s upset since she won’t be here because of her university.”
It felt like a light bulb appeared on top of their heads; everything fell into place.
You and Geto had been together for nearly four years, and your anniversary was in five days – this Friday to be exact. Usually it would be spent together, but because the university you went to was overseas the two of you hadn’t seen each other for a while.
It also meant because of the situation there was a high chance that your anniversary would be spent apart.
“Hey I know what we can do!” Gojo exclaimed suddenly, making Shoko and Nanami look at him with their eyebrows raised.

“And cut!” The director’s voice sounded throughout the set. Maki and Nobara relaxed their forms at his voice. The latter rushed to go hug the former complimenting her on how cool she looked.
“Geto and Mahito we’re gonna do your scene next so ready up,” he said, turning to face them. The two nodded their heads before moving to see the stylists in case anything needed fixing up.
Today was Friday and Geto was especially glum. More glum than he had been all week. He hadn’t even had the chance to hear his girlfriend’s voice over the phone yet either. Sure, the two of you did text each other, but it wasn’t the same.
Even if you had called, it still would’ve been different because you weren’t here with him.
Geto knew the consequences to having a long distance relationship, both of you did. But the both of you also knew that you loved each other too much not to try it out. So you did and it worked out pretty well most of the time.
Even if there were moments when all you wished for was to be in the arms of each other, to fall asleep next to one another, to feel your partner there physically, and when every once in a while an argument happened, to make up face-to-face.
But sometimes you have to give up something to get something else. In this case it was being close to one another.
The sound of the director’s voice broke though his thoughts as he nodded before walking to get into position. Just before the scene started he saw Gojo running to get somewhere.

You put the mask on your face before taking a deep breath. “Okay how do I look?” you asked, turning to face him.
He fixed the cap on your head before nodding at you. “Perfect, let's go inside.”
When you didn’t budge from your spot Satoru put his hand on your head giving it a pat. “Relax, it's going to be fine.”
“I know,” you said. And you did. But still that didn’t mean that you weren’t nervous, it had been months since you saw Suguru in real life. Plus he didn’t know you were coming over because it was a surprise and maybe just maybe a little part of you was anxious about how he’d react.
You hoped he would be happy.
“Let’s go,” you said, beforing making your way to the door and twisting the handle to open it. Gojo followed behind closely, eager to see his best friend’s reaction.
You walked closer and closer to where Geto was recording, the mask and cap hiding your identity in case any one noticed you. Finally you and your boyfriend’s best friend stopped a few meters away from the set.
Your eyes roaming around Geto’s figure as he did his job. The urge to run to him and hold him was so strong but you held yourself back not wanting to ruin anything.
You watched as Mahito said his lines and before Geto could reply to him he looked into your eyes.
It felt like everything had slowed down as you watched your boyfriend run towards your direction. Everyone looked at him confused, cameras that were recording capturing everything on them.
Stopping just a few centimeters before you Geto whispered your name.
“Hi Suguru,” you said, and that was all it took for him to pull you into his arms.
Butterflies raised a storm in your stomach from how hard they were fluttering, you melted into the hug leaning all your bodyweight onto Geto. His head rested on top of yours which was in the crook of his neck.
“I missed you so much,” you mumbled out, arms tightening around his waist.
“I missed you too baby,” he said, before pressing a soft kiss on your head.
Everything felt so peaceful at the moment.
But Gojo Satoru just had to open his mouth. “Ew couples.”
“Not our fault you have commitment issues Toru,” you said, sticking out your tongue at him.
Geto let out a laugh at your response. His heart felt much lighter than it had all week. You were with him and that’s more than he could’ve asked for.
— ☆
Megumi, Nobara, and Yuji were hunched over looking at Nobara's laptop as she scrolled. Every few seconds they would stop to read something before a sound of amusement left them.
“What’re you three laughing at?” you asked, trying to take a peak. Geto stood to your left, his arm around your waist as he also tried to look.
“Here,” Nobara said, before holding up the laptop for you. Taking the device from her hands you click on the video that was displayed.
It was a video of Geto running to you on the day you had decided to surprise him. As you scrolled down the comments and retweets under the video made you let out giggles of your own.
“Who uploaded this?” Suguru asked curiously even though he had a person in mind.
“It was Gojo,” came Shoko’s voice from behind. And that was all the confirmation he needed before running to hunt down his best friend.

speak now!
satoru gojo x f! reader
in which you stop your best friend, satoru gojo, from marrying someone else - after realizing you had feelings for him while he’s standing at the altar
**part of my satoru as taylor swift songs series
as the party roared on inside, you found yourself with gojo, lying face up on the patio, staring up at the starry sky. your stomach was settling, still feeling slightly buzzed from the beer pong you played a few hours ago. as fun as geto’s parties were, you both found yourself needing a breather after having too much to drink.
shoulder to shoulder, you could feel your heart thundering in your chest, your face warm. satoru’s fingers were tangled with yours, his cold fingers intertwined with your warm ones.
“hey, marry me?”
“shut up, you pervert”
as you guys finished up your masters degrees, the pressure was rising on gojo to take over his father’s company. you couldn’t imagine this buffoon you had been best friends with since the start of undergrad really being responsible for anything important, let alone an entire technological empire. the two of you very recently found out that an addendum to taking over the company was marrying someone else in the industry, so as to maximize the profits that could come from a business deal like that.
“we would make sexy babies.” he said, squeezing your hand hand in his, his eyes boring into yours.
“objection. I could have sexy babies with anyone, gojo. plus, my empire of organic chemistry exams to grade will most definitely take your company to the next level.” you said, removing your hand from his.
he’s quiet. you felt you went too far. while you and gojo had been friends for years now, his family showed a clear distaste for you and your line of work. you knew it wasn’t personal, since they weren’t big fans of geto either. plus, convincing gojo to raise megumi with you halfway through undergrad left a sour taste in their mouth. and geto was reckless in more ways than one, so you couldn’t really blame them.
“do you think you’ll really do it, gojo?” you whispered.
“maybe. but trust me, i’ll be thinking of you the entire time mama.” he says, winking at you.
never serious. you punch him in the shoulder, rolling your eyes at his words. he blows you a kiss in response.
“you really are a pervert.”
“you have to barge in and stop the wedding, you know. confess your undying love for me”
“for sure, gojo. it’ll be a big dramatic moment, tears flowing, full cheese and everything. about how it’s you and it’s always been you.”
the two of you stare at each other before you burst out laughing into the night, your hands intertwining once again. you smiled over at him, silently wishing the two of you would be hand in hand, friends forever.
“then we’ll get to work on those babies that night.”
you slap him straight across the face.
your feet were glued to the floor, fighting down the bile that was rising in your throat.
“welcome to the wedding of satoru gojo and hina soma!”
shoko walked up and laced her fingers through yours, with geto, nanami, and megumi slowly trailing behind you. her hand in yours and the presence of your three greatest friends would hopefully prove to be enough to get you through this wedding.
at some point, though you’re not sure when, his cheesy pick up lines started to make your heart race. his willingness to come to your aid, to pick you back up when you were down, to back you when you needed him all added up to a hopeless, disgusting, big crush on him. you were sure if you could have the chance, you would love him, the real way. how you ended up in this mess, at his wedding to another girl, was lost to you entirely. he slipped away so fast.
as the five of you headed towards the open bar, shoko, nanami, and geto greeted hina’s family, having met them at the rehearsal dinner in shoko’s backyard the night before. notably, you and megumi were not invited to the affair. in all honesty, you were shocked hina had even let the two of you come to the wedding. she shared gojo’s parents distaste for the unusual situation you and gojo had with megumi.
you reached down to fix megumi’s tie, still horribly made from earlier. gojo was always better at this than you. as they all exchanged pleasantries. you tried to swallow the lump forming in your throat. he’s just getting married. keep it together.
he promised he would still come around, promised you and megumi will always be his family. you, nanami, geto, and shoko would still be the people most important to him. that’s all that mattered. you held onto the thought, as you settled into the pews with megumi.
megumi slides his hand in yours, effectively stopping the shaking in your hands. as more and more people moved to the pews, you could tell the wedding was about to start. you cursed gojo for picking shoko, nanami, and geto as part of his wedding party, wishing they were here to hold you down through the vows.
gojo saunters in, looking nothing short of the perfect. his normally messy hair is styled, not a platinum hair out of place. his brilliant blue eyes were on display for once, with no sunglasses or bandana in sight. he feigned a serious look, nodding in acknowledgement to yaga, who was officiating the ceremony. as he takes his stance at the altar, the two of you make eye contact.
you and megumi shoot him a smile, the two of you discreetly waving at him. he waves back, sticking his tongue out at megumi. megumi rolls his eyes in response, clearly annoyed by gojo’s unseriousness. as he turns to look at you, he shoots you a glittering smile, accompanied by a wink.
“he has no shame. flirting with another woman at his literal wedding.” said megumi, fidgeting with his collar and slumping into his seat.
you ignore the pounding in your chest, silently cursing the ache in your heart, trying to ignore the fact that this is the moment you’re letting him go. letting him get away. the music started up again, with hina flowing down the aisle, accompanied by her father. she looked beautiful, her fifty foot beaded train following behind her. as she joined gojo at the altar, he looked at her in acknowledgment, the gleaming smile from earlier absent.
as yaga starts the ceremony, you can’t help but ruminate over the wink. of course gojo winked at you. in the most infuriating, gut-wrenching way, you loved it. it was so…gojo. of course he would do something stupid like that.
you love him. you love satoru gojo and he’s marrying someone else. you fight the tears rising to your eyes, as yaga starts the ceremony. you feel megumi squeezing your hand, trying to ground you in the situation.
how could you let this happen? when did it get this far? it was only yesterday you guys were drunk on a patio, giggling with your hands interlocked. could you still stop this?
at that moment, yaga’s voice rose over the hall, the words ringing in your ears.
“if you think this couple should not be joined together, for whatever reason, speak now or forever hold your peace.”
speak now. speak now or forever hold your peace.
forever
speak now, y/n!
you stand up, your hands shaking at your sides. the side of your face was still wet, the tears from earlier sticking to your face. you feel necks craning back to glance at you, horrified looks plastered on their faces.
your eyes meet gojo’s, his blue eyes boring into yours as his hands disconnecting from hina’s to face you. you find your voice, fighting the shakiness overtaking your entire body.
“i’m not the type of girl who…does this. i don’t usually barge in on white veil occasions. but you..”
you look at gojo, the look on his face searching for something on yours. the moment on the patio flashes back, his words echoing back to you.
“aren’t the type of boy who should be marrying the wrong girl.”
you hear a commotion, people whispering and talking in their chairs. hina looks positively upset, her bridesmaids ready to kill. you look over, geto, nanami, and shoko who nod at you to go on.
“please don’t say yes. don’t say a single vow. i
love
you satoru.” you said, the tears streaming down your face, messing up the perfectly placed eyeliner shoko had done hours before.
an outrage. people whispers turned into loud rage. gojo’s parents looked furious, rising up from their chairs to speak to him.
“if you ever cared about me, in that way, then meet me. back door, satoru. I’ll be waiting.”
and with that, you storm out.
you sit on the roof, with your silver heels placed next to you. shoko’s backyard was decorated, the tables from the rehearsal dinner still in place from the night before.
shortly after your big outburst, shoko and geto came out, with megumi in tow, saying the four of you should probably leave before people came to find you. he didn’t come. he wasn’t going to come.
the four of you left in her car, megumi’s hand curled in yours as you silently cried the entire way home.
weirdly enough now, looking at the sky gave you peace. you laid back, staring up at the sky, and ruminated on the moment. you spoke your truth, with the stars bearing witness, but to no avail. but now you can move forward. satoru gojo, who’s plagued your mind and your heart for the past six years, can finally be left behind. you close your eyes, banishing the thought of him from your mind.
you dig your fingertips into your temples, trying to banish the headache left behind after you drained yourself of all your tears. you hear small footsteps on the roof, annoyed at the presence all together.
“leave, shoko.”
you shut your eyes closed. you can’t talk about this. not yet at least.
“hey, marry me?”
cold fingers intertwined with your warm ones. you turn over to see gojo, shocked at his appearance. his hair is unruly, his left cheek pink. he’s still in his wedding suit, but his tie is missing. you stare, unsure if your mind is playing tricks on you.
you grab the side of his face, examining the pink mark on his cheek. you run your fingertips along the side and he winces at the contact.
“what happened, toru?”
“hina..slapped me.”
“oh, sorry.” you say, turning to face the left so he couldn’t see your cheeks burning with embarrassment.
“not your fault. you weren’t the one who said you wouldn’t marry her.”
you turn back, staring at his eyes. the gleaming smile from earlier has returned. he wouldn’t marry her. he didn’t marry her. he’s here, sitting next to you, and he didn’t marry her.
“can i ask you a question, y/n?”
you nod in response, your heart finding its way to your throat.
“marry me?”
you laugh, the tears springing straight to your eyes. you reach for his arms, burying yourself into the crook of his neck. the tears flow straight onto the collar of his shirt, your mascara smearing the crisp white collar. he laughs in response, running his hands through your hair.
“y/n, they’re waiting.” he said, running his hand nervously on the back of his neck.
he points at the backyard and you look down to find shoko, nanami, megumi, and geto smiling up at the two of you. nanami stands at the center of the flower set up, with megumi and geto on his left and right. shoko stands near the front of the backyard, a tiny makeshift bouquet she verly clearly pulled from the neighbors yard in her hands.
you turn to satoru, his blue eyes staring into yours. you nod, a response to his earlier question and you follow him down to the yard. as he makes his way down the makeshift aisle, you link arms with shoko as she runs her fingers under your eyes.
“you look like a racoon. why did you even wear mascara to that wedidng in the first place?”
she rolls her eyes and tears return once again. your feel your heart bursting with joy, unable to contain what was about to happen.. shoko curses your dramatics and walks you down her patchy backyard.
as you reach the front of the altar (shoko’s grumpy neighbor’s fence), satoru reaches out, his fingers reaching for yours. as you look over, he looks better than before. his messy hair, sunglasses perched at the end of his nose - he looked nothing short of perfect.
“we’re going to make sexy babies right after this” he whispers.
nanami, shoko, geto, and megumi all groan at his vulgar words. as they all settle down, nanami starts the ceremony.
“do you, satoru gojo, take f/n l/n to be your lawfully wedded wife?” said nanami
“there’s no way this can be counted as lawful.”
satoru rolls his eyes, shooting a joking glare at geto. he turns back to you, squeezing your hands three times.
“i do.”
“and do you, f/n l/n take satoru gojo to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
you gleam at him, squeezing his hands three times back.
“i do.”
gojo looks around, in confusion. he releases your hands and pats the pockets of his pants and shirt, looking for something.
“um, was anyone able to find any rings?” said gojo, looking around.
megumi looks up, two twisted berry blast ring pops in his fist. the two of you laugh, bending down to take the ring pops from him. you both plant a kiss on his cheek, much to his dismay.
“perfect, gumi.” said gojo, unwrapping his ring.
the two of you slide the ring pops on each other's ring fingers, sharing a kiss to seal your everlasting marriage. shoko and namami popped handheld streamers into the air, covering you and gojo in confetti. that was immediately followed by geto throwing a handful of rice at the two of you, convincing megumi to do it with him. he was not amused.
as the four of them joined in on your hug, you felt yourself being squished into gojo, feeling his heart thumping in his chest. as they all separated, running inside to get the cake, you looked up at him, still clutched in his arms against his chest.
“overcome with your undying love for me, mrs. gojo?” he said, smirking down at you.
you roll your eyes, sticking your fingers into the side of his cheek.
“only because you were thinking of me the entire time” you whispered.
the two of you laughed, your foreheads resting against each other. he leaned forward, his soft lips pressing against yours. your husband, lover, partner, from here on out.

“Y/N!” Afraid that you would burst into tears in front of not just Shoko but in front of the students who suddenly have turned their attention to the both of you, you bit your tongue. You winced in pain. The taste of blood triggers your memories of living as a corpse in your family’s basement. It was something you had always done when your mother would strike you until you were unable to stand. It became a hard habit to break. You remembered whimpering in pain. And if you had cried she would only pounce at you some more. The sudden twinge of pain from biting your tongue calms your nerves, pivoting suddenly and turning towards Shoko with a smile. The best smile you can conjure up. It was something you had been good at. Taught at a young age how to smile for the public even with a broken rib. To hide how you felt to survive. But eventually it was also something the trio was able to look past. Shoko looked at you with a pained look on her face.  “Y/N…Toru he–”
“I’m fine! Shoko I just forgot that I had to grab something from my lug–” She interrupted you with a sudden hug. Suddenly you were sixteen again and here you were struggling to survive…to breathe freely in a world that wasn't the cold dark basement you had grown familiar with. And here again a decade later was Shoko with her healing touch. You had thought that maybe moving away had helped you fight the demons inside your head but in her arms you knew that you had just silenced them for a moment and learned to live alongside them in the shadows. You had never really faced them. You dug your head deeper into her arms and the tears just flowed. “Shoko…I wish I could tell him…I wish I could just tell him everything but being a Gojo is everything to him.”  She petted your hair as she ran her hand down your back,” Shh…I know…I know… everything…” You stopped crying, lifting your head up you felt a sense of confusion, “What?”
“When the clan called on you I was there…I heard what they said. I thought that you were going to tell us. I thought that you were gonna ask Sugu and I for help…I’m sorry that we made you feel like we weren’t safe enough to talk to when they forced you to make a choice.” You shook your head. You never thought that even once this whole decade. You stepped away from her crying into your hands. You were thinking about how much this hurt Shoko. To know the truth about everything but was unable to tell anyone. “No…Shoko…I never…I just didn’t want to…” Shoko took a step towards you to reassure you that she didn’t hate you for your choice. She never once hated you for how you handled a shitty situation chucked to you as a child. Especially not by adults who had promised to protect you. She had only wished she was able to help you more, “Maybe I can help…Tell Toru what it was that–” BOOM.
It was an attack.
Shoko looked around with a confused look on her face. How was she okay? How did she end up outside of the pavilion that just collapsed? Then she remembered hearing you clap before the loud boom. She looked around to find a tree standing where she had been just mere seconds ago. Turning her head to where you had been standing just seconds ago she saw a huge mountain of rubble. She heard ringing in her ear from the loud noise, which left her a little disoriented . “Y/N!!” Shoko yelled at the top of her lungs, panic was distinct in her voice. In desperation she called out to Satoru and Suguru. “PLEASE ANYONE! I can’t find her!” Shoko felt the tears in her eyes. Please. She begged that you were okay. Please. She fell to the ground as she noticed your shoe right outside the mountain of rubble. She picked up the shoe to realize that it had been wet. Staring at the vivid cherry colored liquid on her hand. She panicked as she looked around for any sign of you when she saw the blood seeping through the debris. She yelled for Satoru and Suguru in desperation one more time before she started to dig through the wreck. Her fingers were bleeding after cutting herself from the sharp edges of the fallen debris. “Shoko…what are you?” She turned around to find Satoru standing over her. Suguru appeared right behind him, his eyes widening as he noticed the blood. “Y/N…she’s under here.” Shoko stated as she stared at the rubble. Satoru’s eyes widened as he took a step forward, “No…No…” Using his curse technique he lifted the rubble so easily. There he finds your body miraculously not crushed by the wrecked parts of the pavilion. Still there was blood staining your clothes. You were hurt. You gave him a weak smile. “T-Toru…I–” You coughed up some blood. Your body was at its limit. “I’ve got you princess…I always got you…” After hearing those words you released your technique. Unsure if it was muscle memory but your body knew that if you heard those words you were gonna be okay. You took one last breath in before closing your eyes.
“Y/N! You’re too slow!” Heavily breathing you lunged at Satoru with a spear as he dodged it…again. You groaned, “Just once I want to be able to hit you just once.” Satoru laughed, “Oh come on princess, then it’s not sparring, I just become target practice.” You scoffed, “Doesn’t sound too bad especially if you keep calling me princess. You know I don’t like that nickname.” Satoru laughed at you mockingly as he kept avoiding your attacks. He watched as your cheeks just got redder as you continued. He was worried that you were going to pass out from the heat. “Okay let’s take a rest before you hurt yourself.” You groaned again as you took off the uniform jacket and fanned yourself with your sweat-soaked t-shirt. “Fine.” Satoru watched as beads of sweat dripped down from your face to your chest. The sweat soaked t-shirt practically transparent, he swiftly threw his jacket over you as he heard footsteps from behind. “Hey!”
“Shut up!” You then suddenly hear Suguru and Shoko laughing down the hall. “No and then he…woah are you two okay?” You tilted your head confused, “What do you mean?” Suguru placed an ice cold sports drink on your cheeks, flinching letting out a little moan of pain as the cold drink touched your warm cheeks. “Ow…” Satoru watched Suguru laugh as he handed you the sports drink. He felt a tinge of jealousy as your cheeks turned even more red. “Yeah exactly, you look like you're dying of heat exhaustion. And why are you still wearing the uniform jacket?” You glanced at Satoru who was now looking down at the drink that Shoko had brought. “It helps with conditioning my body for extreme temperatures.” Shoko laughed at your remark, “All that training would be useless if you die Y/N. You have to take care of your body more.” You pouted as you ran towards Shoko hugging her, “I mean it’s not even my jacket…” You then glared at Satoru’s direction, “Someone just suddenly threw his jacket at me. When I was trying to cool down.”
“Well I mean her…sh-shirt is...” You tilted your head unsure of why the arrogant Satoru was suddenly flustered. Then you looked down at your sweat soaked t-shirt and you noticed that your bra was seen through it. You felt the heat of your cheeks turning red in an instant as you covered your chest, “P-Perv! Toru you’re a pervert!.”
“Huh? ME? You’re the one who just just took off their jacket in front of me. A man.” You laughed, “A man? You? Please Toru. I won’t see you as a man for as long as I live.” Pissed off, Satoru laughed, “And I will never see you as a woman, just a little girl who can barely land a punch.” With that you scurried away huffing with anger. You weren’t sure what it was about Satoru but whatever he did he pissed you off. It was his arrogance. His arrogance was based on nothing but the fact that he was a part of the Gojo clan and that he was born with those eyes.
Satoru watched you hurry away. He chuckled because no matter how pissed off he was at you the way you moved was so cute. You were like an angry rabbit. He knew that no matter how pissed off you always get you would still bless him with that pure and innocent smile. The smile that made his heart skip a beat. “You know Satoru, if you like her you shouldn’t be so mean to her it’s not like we are still in grade school.” Satoru sighed at Suguru’s comment. “Go apologize and tell her you love her.” Satoru threw a punch at Suguru who blocked it, “Tsk. Always acting like you know everything. Shut up.”
With Suguru's advice Satoru followed you so he can apologize. He knew how hard you were working but he wanted you to catch up soon so that you could start to fight alongside him. “Hey Y/N…” Satoru stopped in his tracks as he watched you sitting on the floor looking at an injured squirrel. Typical. He figured you were going to pick it up and cry about how you wanted to take care of it. Shocked as he watched you pick it up and break its neck instantly killing it. He watched your dull expression as you held the lifeless squirrel in your hand. He flinched. It wasn’t something he expected you to do. “Hey, What are you doing?” He asked as he took the squirrel’s dead body away from you. He caught a glimpse of your eyes. It was as if you were a different person. They were hollow and dark; it was the eyes of someone who knew what they had done and meant it. Satoru pried the squirrel's body from your hands and placed it by the tree where it had probably fallen from.“Y/N! Why did you do that?” He shook you as you glared up at him. “Why? The squirrel was in pain Toru…it was gonna die anyway.” Satoru looked at her in shock. This wasn’t the Y/N he knew. But he knew for the first time he was seeing you for who you were. Cold. “You didn’t have to kill it…we could’ve nursed it back to health.” You laughed almost mockingly, “How do you know it would’ve lived? What if it suffered even more if we had let it live?” He looked at your eyes. He knew you weren’t talking about the squirrel anymore. “Weak things die…it’s how the world works Toru.”
He looked at you with a distressed look in his eyes. In this moment, he wanted you to forget the pain you were forced to bear before coming to Jujutsu. For the first time ever since he had met you he reached out his arms. He placed his hands lightly on the back of your head as he pulled you into a gentle embrace. “I’ve got you princess…I always got you…” It was as if the anxiety that blanketed over you since the day you were rescued was lifted, you felt a sudden relief. You cried as you dug your head deeper into Satoru’s arms. “Toru…I…” He looked at you, placing a hand on your chin as he lifted it, bending down a little until his lips touched yours. He knew that whoever you become he will always love you. And he will always follow you.

A six pack box of beer, (the sweet ones, you never like the bitter taste of beer.) the sunset looking as beautiful as ever, and you sitting on the rooftop, a cigarette you stole from shoko in your hand (You didn't smoke. You used it as to have something your hands could play with). Life as a traumatized jujutsu student couldn't get better than this. Hell, you wished you could've gone back to the time before your fight with him. You knew you couldn't stop him, you knew you both weren't good for each other, but that's what made it work for you and Suguru. At least you thought it did.
Leading to the weeks before the fight, was the death of Riko. You knew she was somewhat close to Suguru, like a little sister. He told you about her, it was sweet that he had a sister like figure. Then after her death was the almost death of Haibara. You knew something was up that day, so you headed to where Yu was clearing a mission and saved his life, the only consequence was the fact that you were hurt more than him. He got upset, you understood him. But at the same time you didn't.
You understood that he liked to smoke, and you didn't. You understood that you liked drinking more than smoking, and he didn't. Complete opposites, yet fit each other so well.
Tumblr media
Your mother told you it was best for you to get a therapist (one that knows about jujutsu.) so that they could help you. (it worked for a bit, but can you fix what was already broken?) Later, you got diagnosed with Anxiety, they told you to take medication for it, you did. (You never liked taking pills. After the incident with an old friend you couldn't handle them.) All of this was never told to Suguru. Not like he would care, right?
Why would you tell him? it's not like the two of you were dating, if anything, he was more interested in her. (You wouldn't blame him, Nakamura Kyouko was a beauty.) Why would it bother him that you don't tell him anything? Why does he get jealous when other guys flirt with you? why does he act like your boyfriend when he isn't? You don't understand Geto Suguru.
He has her. But why does he always keep coming back to you?
Tumblr media
Then there was the fight, the one between you and him. The one where he couldn't hold back and tell you everything he thought of you. You weren't even sure what started the the fight, but you were sure that you lost the moment he brought up how useless you were, he was comparing you to how she could do better then you. (Why did Suguru bring her up? Kyouko made sure that she didn't have a thing with Suguru, that instead she wasn't ready for a relationship at all. You couldn't blame her. not when he was right.)
"Do you understand what I'm saying? you're weak, [name]. You always have been! Why can't you get that through your thick skull?! You put others before yourself. You don't even have a grade level! You're useless in the jujutsu world. What more do you want to know?! Huh?" you see even sure if he was yelling or not, to inside your mind to figure it out.
"There's a reason as to why, Geto. There's a god damn reason as to why I don't have a grade level as a jujutsu sorcerer. You wanna know why Suguru? Huh?! You wanna know why the ever loving fuck I don't have a grade level like the rest of you all?! Because as of the time I'm living and willy be living, I am considered a threat to the jujutsu world. My technique hasn't been used since eons! No one is sure when my technique is ready, no one knows when I'll lose control and kill everything single fucking living think I come across of. Get through your thick fucking skull Geto." tears starting coming out of you, harsh. You didn't want to cry infront of him. Because if you did, the he would've known that he won the argument. So you did what you've done best.
You left.
Tumblr media
Now that you think about it, you missed it when it was just you and him, with no care in the world, where you were still in a complicated relationship with him. Where the only argument you had with him that was serious was when he kissed you with him smelling like cigarettes.
"C'mon Sugu, don't kiss me on the side walk! Everyone's gonna see and it's crowded here!" you would pout at him, which made him weak in the knees
"[nickname], it's my only break I have where—" "Where you can smoke, yadayada, just... don't smoke and then kiss me?" you ask, lips kissing his nose.
"Of course," he smiled at you, you smiled back.
You missed those days.
Tumblr media
Now that you were out of your head, the alcohol making you dizzy, and looking at the sunset, you realized that you weren't cut out to be part of this hell. After leaving the fight with Suguru, you avoided him and then avoiding going to school altogether, you started going to therapy more often (it helped i little, then it didn't, you were later diagnosed with depression. Yay.) then dropping out of therapy after.
You knew that, what you were doing was the better option for everyone and yourself. You wrote letters to everyone in jujutsu high (including the higher ups, but you just cursed them out and told them that in the next life you would kill them with your own hands.) and You left your dorm at night, opting to to stay at an inn under a different name. You wrote two letters to Suguru that night. Only heading back to the school dorms to leave them on his door.
Now standing up in the rooftop, you decided to turn around, not facing the sunset, not looking down at how high the building you broke into was, instead, you closed your eyes and fell backwards.
With not one care in the world.
(NOTICE FROM THE JUJUTSU HEADQUARTERS; [lastname] [firstname], the unregistered grade sorcerer is no longer a threat. please get rid of any file related to her.)

[part eight] to build a home - gojo satoru
Tumblr media
word count: 5k warnings: !!manga spoilers!! swearing, jjk-verse style fighting series summary: when (y/n) (y/l/n) catches wind that the notorious sorcerer killer, toji fushiguro, has children, she makes it her personal mission to find them. the catch being she couldn't tell a soul about them- the risk of the zen'in clan learning about them was too great. keeping the secret isn't the hard part, it's lying to her friends, shoko ieiri, geto suguru, and of course gojo satoru, that she struggles with. especially when satoru has suddenly become so keen on keeping an eye on her lately.
series masterlist
[part eight] : "Bury A Friend" ___
(y/n) knew she wasn’t the ideal choice of mentor to Megumi.  But she was the only choice.  So she did everything she could to teach him everything she knew.  Megumi wasn’t always fond of spending his after school time learning, especially the more boring lessons (y/n) provided like history, or the specifics of the prominent families.
“This is important, Megumi” (y/n) said to the boy that had thrown his head down against the table.
“I’m tired of studying,” He groaned.  “I want to learn more about cursed techniques!”
“And you will,” (y/n) told him.  “But I need you to understand this”
“Why?” The boy whined, turning his head so his cheek rested on the kitchen table, staring at her.  “Who cares about a bunch of old people?”
(y/n) laughed at him, reminded of Satoru and his distaste for the elders as well.
“These old people control everything in the jujutsu world,” (y/n) said.  “They’re in charge of all the rules, and they have the money to enforce them.  They’re very powerful, Megumi, and they don’t take kindly to those who defect”
“Defect?” He asks, confused.
“It’s what they call sorcerers who… don’t play by the rules” She says carefully.
“Bad guys?” Megumi asks.  (y/n) nods.
“That’s one way to think of it” She sighs.
Her hands are wringing together, and she can barely look at him.  The young boy frowns.
“What’s wrong?” He asks, lifting his head.
“Nothing, honey, I just want you to pay attention”
“You’re bad at lying,” Megumi deadpans.  “Are you defecting?”
The question makes her eyes sharpen, and she stares at his inquisitive face.  She doesn’t want to tell him the truth.  She knows he won’t accept another lie.
“There’s a lot of things that won’t make sense right now,” She explains to him.  “I’m not trying to lie to you.  I’m just trying to keep things easy-”
“Well then make it make sense,” Megumi cuts her off, shrugging his shoulders.
(y/n) gives him a look, shaking her head.
“Is it because of me?” He asks.  “Are you going to be in trouble because of me?”
“Of course not,” She lies with ease.
Placing a hand on his shoulder, she leans closer, staring at him with complete sincerity in her eyes.
“Of course not” She repeats.
Megumi nods, a little bit.  He believed her.
It was the first time she’d told a decent lie.  And it was probably the most important one.
“Okay,” He sighs.  “Then what’s so tricky to understand?”
(y/n) sighs, and she wishes she had spent more time practicing her cursed technique so that she could teleport away.  He was too young to be told the complete truth.  Even if he did understand it all, it was a harsh reality to bring a seven year old to
“Let’s just say your Dad had a knack for making things complicated, okay?” (y/n) says.
Megumi snorts.
“Yeah.  He sucks”
(y/n) nods, smiling endearingly back at him.
“I’m not trying to lie to you,” She tells him honestly.  “But there’s a lot you still need to learn, and it can be complicated.  Is it okay if for now, we just take this all step by step?”
The child nods in agreement,
“Yeah, that’s okay” He says.
“Okay.  So let’s go back to the big families” (y/n) says, drawing a chart on a scrap piece of paper of the big three.
The rest of their little study session goes well.  Megumi is a good learner, who picks things up quickly once he’s shown them.  (y/n’s) grateful he’s such a smart student, because she knows she’s a terrible teacher.
Once he’s got an understanding of the important families in jujutsu society, she decides to call it a day, with the promise of practicing with his shikigami over the weekend.  Megumi seems excited enough by that, before he runs off to tell Tsumiki about everything he’d just learned.
(y/n) stayed at the kitchen table, and once he was out of sight, she allowed herself to hold her head in her hands.  Her eyes fell shut, and she let out a shaky breath.
The idea of telling him the truth one day makes her gut twist into sharp knots.  Had there been anything in her stomach, she certainly would have rushed to the kitchen sink, keeled over it, and emptied it out.
Was this a mistake? She asked herself.  If I hadn’t gotten involved, could Megumi had happily gone with the Zen’in Clan? Now that I’ve harbored him and Tsumiki, have I made their lives worse?
Her fingers dragged against her skin as she lifted her head.  Just as she opened her eyes, she noticed her phone was silently ringing on the table, the screen lit up with a photo of Satoru.
She answers it, bringing her phone to her ear.
“What’s up?” She asks.
“(y/n)...” Satoru’s voice is serious.
She sits up a little straighter in her chair.
“Satoru, what is it?” She asks.  It wasn’t like him to hesitate.
“How quickly can you come to the school?” He asks her.
“What happened?” (y/n) ignores his question.  “Is something wrong? Is someone hurt?”
“I can come get you.  Where are you-?”
“Satoru,” (y/n) cuts him off, standing from her seat suddenly, causing the chair to knock over and clatter to the ground.  “What happened? What’s going on?”
“(y/n), I don’t want to tell you on the phone.  Just- please, I can come and get you right now-”
“Just tell me!” She’s yelling now, not thinking twice about raising the attention of the others in the house.
Unbeknownst to her, Megumi and Tsumiki had rushed into the kitchen as soon as she’d knocked over the chair.  They stood in the doorway, watching her with worry.
“It’s Yu,” Satoru sighs.  “He went on a mission with Nanami, he’s-”
“I’m coming” She says firmly, before ending the call.
She turns around, about to go straight to Megumi and Tsumiki to tell them she had to go, only to find them right in front of her.  She startles, not having heard them come into the room.
“Hey, guys,” She sighs, crouching before them.  “Something happened, I have to go a little early”
“Is everything okay?” Tsumiki asks worriedly.  (y/n) forces a smile on her face.
“Everything will be fine,” She tells her.  “But I need to go”
“You’ll be back on Saturday?” Megumi asks, his voice small.
“Of course,” (y/n) assures him.  “I can’t wait to see your Divine Dogs, Megumi” She adds, bringing a small smile to the boy’s face, even though he knew she was hiding something, and things weren’t alright as she was trying to make them seem.
“Be safe,” She tells them as she stands.  “I’ll be back on Saturday”
They both bid their goodbyes as (y/n) goes out the door as hastily as she can without running.  She mutters the incantation to lower a curtain hurriedly, and as soon as she seals the house under her protection, she brings her middle and forefinger to her forehead.
___
(y/n) appears suddenly at the school, stumbling on her feet a bit from the messy and sudden teleportation.  Her mind had been anything but clear when she’d summoned her cursed energy to bring herself here.  However this was the fastest way she could get here.
Her mind grows foggier, and eyelids heavier as she takes a few steps forward, dragging herself to the front doors.  Sleep threatens to overcome her, but she pushes forward anyways.
Teleporting like this was a risky choice, knowing she had yet to keep herself conscious after doing so.  But she had no other choice, and she was here now.  All that mattered was finding-
“Satoru”
As (y/n) opens the door, she finds her friends, along with Nanami and Yaga right at the corridor.  She stands in the open doorway, or rather, she’s leaning on it, desperate to keep her body upright.
Shoko, Satoru, and Suguru rush right over to her, assuming the worst.
“Are you hurt?” Shoko asks, scanning her for injuries.
“Where were you?” Suguru asks.
She doesn’t answer either of them, she can’t focus on calming their worries when she knows something terrible has happened.
“Satoru,” She says to the man who hadn’t torn his gaze away from hers as soon as she’d arrived.  “What- what happened? What happened to Yu?”
The room is silent.  Shoko and Suguru step back a bit, realizing she wasn’t in any danger, she was just wiped and starting to lose consciousness as a result of prematurely using her cursed technique.
The white haired sorcerer frowns, and reaches out to try to help her stand better.  She shuffles back against the door, shaking her head.
“Tell me,” She mumbles, her throat tightening, and burning.  “Tell me what- what happened to Yu?”
“I’m sorry, (y/n/n)” He says softly.
There’s tears pooling in her eyes as she stares back at him.  She starts to shake her head in disbelief, but no words come out.
“Yu is dead” Another voice answers her question.
She looks past Satoru’s shoulder, to where Nanami is hanging his head, eyes focused on the floor.
(y/n’s) breath catches in her throat, choking her.  She sputters out a few shaky pants, before her knees give out and she’s crashing towards the ground.
Satoru’s faster than her fall, an arm wrapping around her shoulders to keep her steady on her knees in front of him.  Her head lands on his shoulder, tears seeping into his shirt as she begins to cry.
Shoko and Suguru look at each other, while the Six Eyes user silently tries to comfort her, his hand rubbing circles over her back in smooth motions.
“I don’t- I don’t-” (y/n) stammers over her words, despair, confusion, and exhaustion clouding her ability to form a proper sentence.  “I don’t understand- how- why-”
Satoru shushes her quietly, knowing any minute now she was going to close her eyes and succumb to the fatigue.  He dropped his head so he could speak quietly to her.
“I’ll explain everything” He murmurs into her temple.
Her body shakes against his.  He has to close his own eyes to keep himself from tearing up just from seeing her in so much distress.
“Satoru- don’t-” (y/n) mumbles, fists weakly grabbing at the front of his uniform.
“I won’t go,” He assures her.
Her body starts to feel a little heavier in his arms.
“I’ll be right here when you wake up, I’ll tell you everything”
Her eyelids feel too heavy to bear, and when their weight is too much, she finally lets them close.  Shortly after, her breathing evens, and her body is slumped in Satoru’s arms.
“She teleported here,” Yaga says as Satoru gets a better hold on her, lifting her up with ease.  “That was the longest I’ve ever seen her stay awake after teleporting without a hex”
“She was anxious” Satoru replies, about to walk away.
“When she wakes, tell her when she’s ready I’d like to speak to her” His teacher says, before he could walk too far away.
Satoru turns on his heel, his eyes fixed in a glare.
“She was only able to keep herself awake so long because she was grieving,” He said with a harsh tone of voice.  “She just lost someone she cares about.  And when she wakes up, she’s going to go through it all again,”
Nanami watched Satoru intently as he spoke sharply towards Yaga.
“Don’t you dare try to get her to use that to perfect some stupid cursed technique,” He continues.  “Not a word of this to the elders” He says, head jerking around the room to make sure everyone present understood he was meant to be taken with absolute seriousness.
Everyone slowly nodded their heads.
“Understood” Yaga sighed.
“Good,” Satoru muttered.  “Now I’m taking her to rest.  Tell everyone not to bother her, or I’ll rip their head off”
He finally leaves, teleporting himself to (y/n’s) room.  It’s dark, but Satoru leaves it that way as he carefully tucks the dozed off girl into her bed.  She doesn’t squirm or make a single noise as he covers her with the blanket.
Once he deems her comfortable enough, he wanders over to her desk, grabbing the chair from it and quietly placing it beside her bed.
He rests his head in his hands as he sits.
Why wouldn’t she just let me come to her?
Selfishly, he doesn’t want her to wake up anytime soon.  He doesn’t want to face her and relay to her how Yu’s mission had gone wrong.  He doesn’t want to be the one to bring her such bad news, to break her heart.
Yet at the same time, a part of him does want to be the one to tell her, so that he can be there for her if and when she needs him.  To dry her tears and tell her good, sweet things to comfort her.
It’s all a mess, he thinks, bringing his gaze up to the sleeping girl before him. ___
[TWO YEARS AGO]
(y/n) leaned further out the window of the classroom she was currently hiding in, making sure that all of the smoke she blew out her lungs went out the window.  Sneaking a cigarette on her first day of being at Jujutsu High was a bit reckless, sure, but her nerves needed to be relaxed and so far this was the first method that worked.
“That’s a bit stupid, isn’t it?”
She jolted at the sudden voice behind her, the cigarette in her fingers falling from her shock.  It fell straight out the window, and onto the ground.  Her jaw dropped as she watched a group of jogging upperclassmen run right over the thing.
Well, at least it was stumped out and she didn’t have to worry about starting a fire on her first day.
Annoyed, she spun around to see the perpetrator that had so rudely interrupted her.
It was a boy, standing in the doorway of the classroom.  He had lightning bright hair and an even brighter grin.  The oddest part wasn’t even the sunglasses he chose to wear inside, but how it seemed that even when she scowled at him, that grin remained.
“Having a cigarette on your first day here?” He chuckled.  “Do you know what they would’ve done to you if you’d been caught?”
“Kicked me out?” (y/n) scoffed.  “Don’t you think I already knew that consequence when I lit it?”
The boy laughed.  It was bubbly, and as annoyed as she was with him, she found herself fighting the urge to laugh as well.
“You’re right.  I owe you one.  Luckily I’m friends with the biggest nic addict here, so you’re lucky”
“Lucky?” (y/n) repeated in a monotone voice.
“Sure are,” He replied.  “You’re the new first year right?”
(y/n’s) brows drew together, disturbed that this overbearing boy already seemed to know who she was, and she had no idea who he was.
“Yes…” She answered slowly.  “I’m (y/n)”
“Gojo Satoru” He introduced himself, walking into the classroom with his hand outstretched.
With a huff, (y/n) reaches her hand out to meet his, only to find something stopping her just an inch before touching him.
She retracts her hand instantly, and suddenly his name clicks in her mind.  He seems amused that she’d reacted to his Infinity in such a way.
“Shit,” She mumbled, her wide eyes staring up at him.  “So you’re the Six Eyes everyone’s been talking so much about”
“Oh yeah?” He raises a brow, tucking his hands into his pockets.  “They sayin’ good things?” He asks.
“They’re saying you’re the most powerful sorcerer,” (y/n) replies.  “So I suppose it depends on who you ask,” She answers.  “Whether or not that’s a good thing”
Satoru scoffs, his grin faltering for a brief second.  He had not expected such a cryptic answer.  Usually people flocked to him, always wanting something from him.  Clearly he’d gotten off on the wrong foot with this one.
“Normally being the best at something is a pretty good thing” He said smoothly.  (y/n) raised a shoulder and cocked her head to the side.
“Maybe,” She mused.  “But I can do something you can’t”
He leans forward with a smirk, entering her personal space and peering down at her through his shades.
“And what’s that, sweetheart?” He asks slyly, clearly expecting some sort of sexy response.
(y/n) doesn’t give him the reaction he was looking for, instead keeping her face blank as she responds.
“Fly under the radar,” She answers.
His brows pinch together, chuckling to himself.  As if he’d ever want to do that.  What a stupid thing to brag about.
(y/n) steps around him, heading out of the classroom.
“Don’t forget you owe me a cigarette, oh powerful Gojo” She calls over her shoulder as she leaves.
[PRESENT DAY]
Back when he’d first met (y/n), Satoru remembers that more than anything, she confused him.  She was probably the first person in his life to ever treat him like he wasn’t the most important person in the world.  She had weird opinions and a weirder personality.
And he was enamored with her.
It had taken him some time, maybe more than most, to figure out what she’d meant that first day they met.  He spent nights awake, staring at the ceiling, wondering why he’d want to fly under the radar, as she’d said.  But as he found his friends, Suguru, Shoko, and found himself in the meantime, he finally figured it out.
By that point, she’d already written him off.  Perhaps she didn’t hate him, but she certainly didn’t want to spend time with him if she didn’t have to.  Lucky for him, their mutual friends brought them together more often than she would have liked, so she had to get to know him anyways.
Years of training together, class together, hanging out with their friends, going on assignments- little moments and inches of steps brought them closer together.  Eventually he saw her give in a little, and (y/n) let him care about her, even if she wouldn’t reciprocate.
She stopped ignoring his texts, started laughing at his dumb jokes, and sometimes, Satoru swore that he would catch her smiling at him.  She openly enjoyed going on assignments with him, even if it was just from her competitive nature.  When Yaga would hand them the same mission, she’d smile at him, followed by her typical attitude.  But there’d be a bounce in her step.
He had been there the first time she’d tried to teleport without a hex.  She had been trying to save someone.  A kid.
The poor thing had been standing before a Grade One curse, trembling, frozen in fear.  Satoru had seen him first, but (y/n) was acting before he could.  She was too far to make it on foot, but without a second thought she did something she didn’t even know she was capable of.  It was as if human instinct and cursed energy merged in that moment, her drive to save that child overpowering her body and teleporting her there in the same instant she’d seen him.
In a second (y/n) was no longer by Satoru’s side, and was a few hundred feet away.  Her arms wrapped around his small body, and she stood there just long enough to scream for Suguru to exorcize the curse.  He came just in time, and once more, (y/n) disappeared from where she stood.
Kneeling at Satoru’s side, she kept her hands securely on the young boy’s shoulders.  He remembered the rushed, worried way she’d spoken to him.
“Are you hurt? Are you alright? Do you know where your parents are?”
Satoru remembered when the boy finally ran off to where his parents were just a block away, (y/n’s) hands were shaking.  Just as he was about to congratulate her and help her to her feet, her body gave out.  Her eyes were shut and she was passed out before she’d even hit the ground.
That was a year ago.
Now, Satoru thinks that his stance with (y/n) is even messier than before.
He’d thought that he’d made some progress, redeemed himself a bit in her eyes.  At least he’d hoped he had.  She spent more time with him than she had before, and it wasn’t completely against her will.  Satoru had been overjoyed when she’d agreed to join him for breakfast.  He’d spent the whole day with her after that, and not for a second was he able to stop looking at her.  She’d only grown more beautiful, more confident and sure of herself, and as they matured bit by bit together, Satoru was certain he was only going to fall harder for her.
He’d known her for years now, and every day she challenged him in some new and exciting way.  He used to enjoy that about her.
Now, it brought him an immense amount of stress.
Not knowing where she was going when she snuck into town, not knowing what she was up to when she snuck back in late into the night, it had him worried sick.  He knew she was capable of protecting herself, she was a strong fighter, and loved her cursed tools almost as much as her friends.
But no matter how slowly the curiosity killed him, he knew he had to drop the subject.
After a lengthy discussion with Shoko, where she told him in all seriousness that she was certain (y/n) was meeting up with a lover, someone she cared about deeply and wanted a future with, he had buried every last feeling he’d had for her.
He’d decided he had to.  If he didn’t want his heart broken, he’d have to move on from her.
That was easier said than done. ___
(y/n’s) eyelashes fluttered for a brief moment, followed by a small groan.  It took a few minutes of stretching her tired limbs before she finally opened her eyes, and to her surprise, Gojo Satoru was sitting right there.
“You’re awake” He said softly.
(y/n) sat up and looked around herself, just to be sure she hadn’t woken up in the infirmary.  Just as she thought, she was in her own bed, her own room.
And then it all came flooding back to her.
“Yu…” She mumbled, her voice cracked over his name.  “He’s really gone?”
Silently, Satoru nodded his head.
(y/n) leaned back against her headboard, her eyes on her lap as she processed this information rather slowly.
“I’m sorry, sweetheart,” Satoru said quietly, reaching his hand out to her.  “I know you were close”
To his surprise, she took his hand when he held it out, her thumb pressed to his palm and her fingers wrapping around his securely.
“He just wanted to be nice and walk me home,” She said softly.  “He was just trying to be a good person and I- I pushed him away”
Tears pooled at the corners of her eyes as she remembered the last time she’d really spoken to him.  She’d seen him in passing since that day in Tokyo, but she’d been in such a rush all the time that she’d barely said more than a hello to him.
And now he was gone.
A tear slipped down her cheek.
“Don’t blame yourself for anything,” Satoru said, his thumb stroking over the back of her hand gently.  “What happened was an accident, no one could have known”
She looks up at him, her tears falling freely now.
“What happened?” She whispered out.
Satoru sighed, pushing his sunglasses to the top of his head.
“Him and Nanami went on an assignment.  It was supposed to be a Grade One… but…”
“Special Grade…” (y/n) mumbled, eyes falling away from his, glazed over as she thought it over.
Her hand that wasn’t in his tangled in her sheets, fisting them tightly until her knuckles turned white.
“Did they exorcize it?” She asks, her voice dropping an octave.
Satoru shakes his head.
“Nanami brought Yu back as soon as it happened.  They sent Suguru first thing this morning”
“It’s morning?”
“Almost seven” Satoru nods.
“It’s Friday” (y/n) confirmed, and he nodded again.
She nods back at him, the gears in her head turning.
She didn’t have to be at the Fushiguro house until tomorrow.
“Have you heard from Suguru since he left?” She asked.
When her eyes meet his again, there’s something there that he’d never seen before.  Something cold, and calculating.
“Don’t even think about it” He told her before she could even suggest what she was thinking.
(y/n) releases his hand, shuffling off the bed, but as soon as she stands, he grabs her by the shoulders to stop her.
“I said don’t even think about it-”
“I’m going” She cuts him off, staring him directly in the eyes so he could see that there was nothing that could stop her.
“(y/n), Suguru will take care of it, you know that-”
“It has nothing to do with that,” She snaps back at him.  “Yu was my friend.  I cared about him- and- and now he’s gone and he’s not coming back and I can’t just sit here and-”
She’s getting choked up over her tears, and she raises her hands to violently wipe them from her eyes.
“I can’t just sit here and cry about it!” She wails.
She falters then.  The tears spilling over her cheeks won’t stop flowing no matter how much she wipes them away, she’s sobbing now, her whole body trembling.
Before she can fight him, Satoru pulls her into his chest.  She doesn’t put up a fight.  She lets him hold her and she doesn’t hold back a single sob that wracks her body.  He carefully sits them down on the edge of her bed, and she throws her arms around his neck as she continues to break down.
They sit together for quite some time.  (y/n) doesn’t leave his arms.  Satoru doesn’t let her go.
It’s a long day spent in the darkness of her room.  He brings her food and a new box of tissues every few hours, but for the most part, sits with her while she lays in bed.  Sometimes he holds her hand, sometimes he rubs her back.  She falls asleep here and there, but never longer than half an hour.
When it’s well into the middle of the night, she calls to him.
He’s sitting in bed with his back to her headboard while she’d been laying on her side, faced away from him.  But suddenly she turned over.
“Satoru?”
Her voice is strained, tired.  Her throat was surely sore from her day of grief.
He looks away from the book he was reading, something he’d stolen off her shelf.  Her eyes are sad, but no longer filled with tears, as she looks at him.  He hums softly in response to her, his hand sliding down the mattress to find hers.
When her fingers weakly brush into his, she tangles them together, slotting her own through the spaces between his.  His hand is warm, and comforting.
He’s warm and comforting.
“You’ll stay?” She murmurs, briefly looking from his eyes to his hand in hers, and then back up to his eyes.  “Through the night?”
Satoru sets the book down in his lap, and now that it’s in her line of sight, she can see that he’s reading her copy of Charlotte’s Web.  The smallest of smiles tugs on the edge of her lips.  She had pulled it out of a box of old storage from her childhood just a week ago, having a newfound soft spot for the story after reading it cover to cover for the Fushiguro kids.
“Of course, sweetheart,” He tells her, and when she looks back up at him, she can see that he means it with every ounce of sincerity.
He picks the book up again, only to slide it onto her bedside table.  She watches as he then throws back the covers, sliding his long legs under them, and then the rest of his body.
He’s eye to eye with her as his head hits the pillow, and she can’t bring herself not to stare at him.
They’re incredibly close, since her bed wasn’t exactly made for two people, but the nerves that she would normally feel having him so close to her that she could feel his soft breath on her lips is nowhere to be found.
In fact she smiles.  It’s small, and her lips tremble in the slightest, but it’s a smile for him nonetheless.
Satoru squeezes her hand.
“I’ll stay as long as you’d like me to,” He tells her, his voice a hushed whisper.  “I’ll stay until you force me to go”
She squeezes his hand back.
“Can I request one more thing?” She murmurs.  He nods.  “Would you read to me?”
He turns to reach for the book right away, double checking what it was he’d been mindlessly reading just moments ago.
“Charlotte’s Web?”
She nods.
“It’s grown to be a favorite of mine” She tells him.
“Then of course I will”
He rolls onto his back, and he lets go of her hand so that he can open the book, flipping back to the first page.  Once he’s found a comfortable angle, he slides an arm around her shoulders, tucking her in close to him, to keep her comfortable, before he begins to read.
Satoru doesn’t even make it through the first chapter before (y/n’s) dozed off, her head resting on his shoulder, the rest of her body completely curled into his.
He finds himself getting tired shortly after as well.  When he finally gives into the drowsy feeling, he places the book on her bedside table, and lays his sunglasses on top of it.
He forgets all about how he was supposed to be burying his feelings, he forgets about the stranger she’s been going out with, and all that’s on his mind as he falls asleep beside her is the hope that tomorrow will be a fresh start for her.  He hopes that she’s able to work through her grief, and begin the journey to move past it tomorrow.  He hopes that she’ll let him help her.
Satoru falls asleep listening to the soft, steady buzzing of her cursed energy beside him.  It pulls him away like a lullaby.

My Husband Toji Zenin — Toji Fushiguro Series
Mlist <3
*just a Drabble, doesn’t go with story!
Even though you forgave your husband, you couldn’t trust him. No amount of therapy, and talking could make you understand why he did what he did, you were young, and just was ready to restart your life.
You got your own apartment, and started working at a law firm doing admin work. You started making new friends, and even rekindling friendships you lost due to your marriage. Believe it or not, your friends never liked Toji.
“Hey Y/n, this is my friend Choso! He’s new to town!” Your friend Shoko tells you. It had been a year since the divorce, changing your number, and blocking Toji. He always found a way to contact you, but you never picked up. The calls went from everyday hour, to every day, to every week, to once a month, to nothing. He tried, and nothing could convince you to pick up. You knew he would only convince you to come back. You knew how sorry he was, you knew he loved you, but he didn’t love you enough to be true to you. “Hey Choso, I’m y/n, welcome to town haha!” You smiled brightly. You hadn’t dated at all, just meeting friends and living your single life.
Weeks went by and you and Choso started talking, you started to feel love again, and maybe, just maybe you could feel alive again. “I really like you, you’re funny, fucking smart, gorgeous, and you have about the kindest smile. I’d really like to be more than just friends.” Choso smiled, you both were on your 5th date. “Choso, I really like you too. I know Shoko told you about my divorce, I’m a guarded, but you have been able to knock down those walls.” You smiled, grasping his hand. At that moment the man you never wanted to see again, was walking into the restaurant, with some twinky, and he you caught his eye. You smiled lightly at your ex husband, and looking back at Choso, you were finally at peace. Seeing your ex husband with yet another one of those woman he promised to never mess with again, just signified that you made the right decision on leaving.
“Let’s go get some ice cream.” Choso smiled, walking beside you, with his hands laced with yours.
