Self Care Tips After a Long Day

Personally, I have been having a lot of these 'long days' recently, and these tips have been saving my sanity. So I thought I'd share them with you! Christmas is coming up, a lot of us are taking on extra or longer shifts at work to be able to afford the presents we need to buy, so hopefully some of this advice will come in handy.

1. Treat yourself!

A pretty simple one, but it really is very important. I sometimes treat myself with a coffee after work, because there is nothing better than a hit of caffeine after a twelve and a half hour shift, let me tell you. If I don't feel like spending money, I'll come home and watch a movie, lay out a few packets of crisps to enjoy whilst I relax. It really is a thing of just unwinding after a particularly long day, making sure your body gets that rest it deserves.

2. Journal

This really is one of the biggest self-care tips you will get. Anyone who knows anything about taking care of your mind knows that writing out your feelings is a great way to sort out your emotions. It can also be very relaxing, which is perfect after a long day. I love making a Scene of it, too - lighting a candle, putting on some music or a nice YouTube video in the background, and just sitting down at my table in cosy pyjamas to write about my day. I personally go with the old brain-dump method, but there's a ton of different ways to journal that you can look into, whether that be fun prompts, lists, or a brain-dump, like me!

3. Sit in silence.

Genuinely, just sit in silence. Come home, get into comfy clothes, and just sit. Stare at a wall. Play with a fidget toy. Put noise-cancelling headphones on and just be present in your own space. I find myself doing this mostly due to my autism; I kind of have no choice in the matter, considering my brain tends to shut down after a long day, and all I can really do is sit in silence. But it's not a bad thing, and I recommend trying to do it for anyone who might be feeling a little overwhelmed. The silence can do wonders.

4. Have a bath/shower.

I'm a shower girlie, personally, but that's only because I don't actually have a bath.

Either way, getting washed and clean and feeling fresh is an ultimate form of self care!!!! It might take a bit of motivation to actually get yourself into the shower (trust me, I know) but once you do it, you'll feel incredible. I'm personally not a big fan of the whole Everything Shower thing - I think I'm just too lazy to get everything scrubbed, shaved and moisturised, and if you're the same, there's nothing wrong with that. Wash your hair. Put some soap on those limbs. Just feel the hot water on your skin, maybe do a bit of skin care afterwards if you're feeling up to it. But getting washed and fresh will make you feel ten times better, and might even wake you up a bit if that's what you need!

5. Meal prep.

I live by this.

Once upon a time, I didn't meal prep, and I would come home at 8:30pm after a twelve hour shift full of heavy lifting and verbal abuse (lol guess what I work as) and I would immediately just order a takeaway. In the moment, this is all good - it's a treat, I deserve it, it tastes nice. But after three days of takeaways, you start feeling a little bit shit about yourself, and you're not being too kind on your wallet, either.

I started using a brief portion of my days off to meal prep for the week - just dinners, stuff I could throw in the fridge/freezer and heat up when I got home. Let me tell you, it was self care. Not only was my health improving dramatically, but my mental health was also given a break because I was no longer feeling bad about the stuff I was putting in my body. Plus, meal prepping at the start of the week (or just whenever you get a chance, really) gives you the opportunity to actually think about what you're making, so chances are you're going to be a bit more conscious about what you're putting into your body. I also enjoy cooking a great deal, so it's not even a chore on my day off - I find it quite relaxing to throw some music on, get my cook book out and just enjoy the task.

Where do you shop? How long did it take to accumulate your collection?

Last question might be weird but do you sleep in the room in the photos? The reason I ask is because I want to make my room look like that but I'm a little worried about what people will think...

Hi! This is a great questions and literally anyone can do it and affordable! So I’ve been collecting my whole life but I started going super into it in 2009. Not only do I collect nostalgia, I collect about anything I would see and like, antiques, records vintage clothes, toys, ex. What started my interest is I just saw something a couple antiques i wanted at goodwill and passed it up and I would never live it down. I will forever remember is and kick myself in the ass for it. I said that’s it, I’m not regretting leaving something so cool behind in fear of being judged.

Even though I started in 2009, I will admit, no one has to break bank to start collecting. The best place to start is goodwill, local thrift stores, flea markets, garage sales. I don’t pay much for anything I own in my collection. One time I thrifted an entire huge box full of vintage McDonald’s toys for $2! It’s very simple to do. Some garage sales, people were so tired of selling, they would tell me to have things for free! Like I’m doing them a favor getting rid of the items. lol u really don’t need to spend much.

I started collecting by going to my local goodwill every week and I’d find a cart FULL of 90’s -2000’s finds and I’d spend like max, $50 for my entire cart and I’d find the coolest stuff, toys, clothes, books, ex.

I leave no stones unturned. Some people hid things at goodwill and wait for the color tag to go on sale so look everywhere! I would go by myself and look for a few hours and pick out everything old, and decide at the end what I LOVE and put back things that I just don’t. I’d find cool 2000’s clothes hidden in the kids clothes! I found a vintage adult sized Powerpuff girls sweater in the kids! People hide stuff everywhere and workers also put things in wrong spots just cause it’s got cartoons on them. lol

So the photos of my room is right before I moved into my own house but YES. I slept in that room for years and everyone that walked in thought it was cool! Now I have childhood friends sending me photos of it and asking why my room is all over the internet! lol 😂 I had 2 beds so I could have my best friends over and have cool sleep overs, all my friends, guys and girls loved it and even my boyfriend loved it when we first started dating. My mom loved it cause it reminded her of when me and my sister were kids. She would come up and hang out with me and we would watch Britney and Backstreet Boys videos. I say, do things FOR YOU. If people aren’t supportive, then that’s there problem. As long as ur responsible and not harming anyone or anything, then there is nothing wrong with u doing what makes u happy! ❤️ If u have anything ur really into, the fashion or toys, ask any questions u want, fill free to ask. Something I always do with everything, is pick something up, look for a year. Sometimes older stuff didn’t always have a year on it. Now they always have years.

Also I don’t make YouTube videos anymore but I do have one thrift haul on my YouTube channel Nostalgic Studioz. Can kinda see what I found going to one goodwill! One store is all it takes. lol

Here is one flea market haul and there is that box I spent 2 dollars on to the right. lol I bought all of this in one place, one day at the local flea market. Ohio’s biggest flea market is like 30 mins away and it’s my FAVORITE place in the world. It’s opened all year around and it’s like a giant garage sale.

he has to spend money on every banner because he always loses his 50/50 and only gets high pity

AHHHHH IM GOING TO SKATING CAMP TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IM SO EXCITED!!!!

it feels im 8 yrs old again and it's the last day of school and tomorrow im going to montenegro for 3 months. like i am so excited you guys!!!

im getting the train at 6am tomorrow and lucien is meeting me there. his plan was for me to go today and spend the night at his parents' but they don't want me at their house cos im not family lol. he said im gonna meet them nevertheless. but they're old money. like actually old western european conservative money. and ive never met people like that before.

im very excited to meet his parents bc i need to know his origin story! like why is he the way he is??? apparently he had a very strict upbringing. and his parents are mega rich. and i feel like now the term "old money" has been tied to the whole aesthetic trend on tiktok, so it kinda lost its original meaning. but his parents are basically, yeah... conservative, protestant, very secretive life style, probably brought their children up with like super strict table manners like what fork is used for what, etc.

they're very cold too. like i was brought up with more eastern values. and even though my family isn't super traditional in that sense, i was still taught that hospitality is important and that you have to bring a gift every time you go to someone's house and stuff like that. whereas conservative western mentality isn't really like that. and his parents are in their 80s so yeah, they're a whole different breed i feel.

have you guys ever met like actual old money people? what was that like? and i don't mean just "rich people who aren't flashy". but like actual generational wealth people.

also panda has a theory that lucien's parents are in a cult lol. like mormons or jehovah's witnesses or sth.

when lucien was trying to convince his parents to let me stay over he was like "yeah, she's anti-alcohol and she doesn't drink and she's very very religious and modest". lolllll

speaking of being religious, church today was so good! my church crush handed me the music sheet and looked into my eyes and i said thank you and that was the highlight of my day lol. i still don't know his name. but it's fun, you know? to have a little crush i look forward to seeing every sunday. and honestly i don't really want to get to know him because he comes off as very arrogant and intellectual and snobby and i don't think we'd vibe. like at some point he sat down and man-spread and went on his phone. likeeeee. but then i see that after every service he goes up to all the icons to kiss them and lights candles and every time he does the cross thing he bows down to touch the ground (which i never do btw). but yeah im enjoying having this little crush a lot and i want it to stay that way.

maybe he's a reddit orthodox kind of guy, now that i think about it...? like i watched one video about orthodoxy cos i wanted to see who bishop irinei was and now my youtube recommended is full of these orthodox chad memes like "little dark age" that kind of stuff yknow. maybe my crush is the kind of guy who watches these things. cos like what else would a guy my age be doing at a church choir? likeeee

anyway, yeah! super stoked for tomorrow! idk if i'll post much about skating camp cos im gonna be hanging out with lucien and skating 24/7. but i promise i'll post a pic or two! <3

♡Weekly Chronicles♡

Good afternoon babesss <3 THANK YOU FOR 100 FOLLOWERS! this week wasn't that interesting but reaching this milestone was so nice love all 108 of my babesss<3

♡Mental♡

This week I've been resting I spent my time sleeping and sipping my smoothie for my cleanse. I had my period this week so I was a little sad here and there but now it's over so I'm in a better space. I hate having a period lol it makes you emotionally unstable at times. I created my vision board this week and it's super cute and pink. I hope all of you created your vision boards for this year. I plan on restarting The 12 Week Year this upcoming week<3. I planned out my 12-week year using this notion template. I highly recommend this book it helps you achieve your goals in a much more effective way.

♡Physical♡

I was super sickkk the first half of this week I don't know what happened but I got cold out of nowhere and it affected my sinuses which was not fun. After Wednesday I started feeling better. The cleanse I've been on has been going so well! My bloating went down. I'm so snatched right now love ittt. I plan to start Pilates again this week. I can't lift weights for a while which is sad because I enjoy the thrill I get from it lol. I haven't worn my corset in 2 weeks but my waist doesn't seem any different I usually wear it for an hour a day 5 days a week but I was so bloated when I came back from my trip that I wasn't comfortable wearing it and this week I was tired and wanted to pamper myself.

My sister introduced me to some really good Korean skincare products that I have been using and have leveled up my skincare routine. She tends to gatekeeper so keep this a secret between me and you lol.

Anua Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner This toner is so good. Before this, I had not been using a toner in my skincare routine and it's crazy how much dirt was in my skin even after washing my face with my foaming wash cleanser. The alcohol in the toner isn't harsh but do your research especially if you have sensitive skin.

Anua Peach 70 Niacin Serum I use this after the toner and it just adds this cooling effect from the alcohol in the toner. It smells so good too but it isn't a strong peach scent which Is perfect for me.

Bio-Oil this recommendation is not from a Korean skincare brand my cousin Yasmeen recommended this to me. Her skin is so flawless right now and she told me this is her holy grail. I'm here to say she was right this is so good not only for hyperpigmentation, and discoloration but also for stretch marks my mom used this oil and said it worked very well for her. I use this as my moisturizer.

COSRX Snail Mucin 96% Power Repairing Essence & COSRX Snail Mucin 92% Moisturizer If you want soft glass skin these two products will do ittt. I love COSRX they have such great products and they work. The only warning I'd give is if you have a shellfish allergy then I would not recommend you get this product.

I gave you babes my whole skincare routine lol I left out some products but these are my must-have.

♡Plans For The Weekend♡

My cousin reached out to me she wanted to go see the color purple. I've been wanting to see that movie for sooo long. But I can’t go because it was such a last-minute invite. Plus “I'm broke” lol I'm doing a 3 month no spending challenge. I can post a blog post on my 3 month no spending challenge if you girliesss are interested<3. This weekend is going to be simple nothing interesting happening at all just watching YouTube, reading and Duolingo lol.

How did you start learning Korean? I want to start but have no idea how 😅

Hi anon, I'm so glad that you do, and I want you to know that it's totally possible as long as you have a burning passion for learning the language! If you're up for it, I have a lot of points that I've attempted to put down here to help you - and anyone reading this - because all of these have immensely helped me throughout my journey in learning Korean.

An intention to learn Korean:

I think one of the most important things to keep in mind while you begin - and continue - this journey is that you have a passion for it. Treating the language and the learning process as a compulsion or a 'have to do it' mindset will only limit you, so I suggest that you don't create a routine if you're learning Korean as a hobby. Simply enjoy the process. Remember, it must always be, 'I'm learning because I want to, and not have to.'

Some people will suggest being consistent - which is indeed necessary and helpful in learning anything for that matter - but learning a language with a whole new alphabet can be challenging and discouraging when we don't see progress. People appearing for language tests like TOPIK require consistent efforts and loads of practice, but since you're just starting, I suggest you take it slow. One step at a time. One achievement at a time.

Tbh, the decision to start learning Korean was instantaneous for me. I was watching a k-drama one day (Dr. Romantic) and saw something written in Korean that I couldn't read. I remember thinking, "How cool would it be if I could read that?" and bam, I immediately went onto YouTube and learned the Korean alphabet.

As much as I emphasize taking things slow, in no way am I suggesting that you take massive breaks from learning because it will not only weaken your memory but you could also forget things that you've learned, which might lead you to feel discouraged and frustrated. Setting aside at least four hours in a week would be great for you; one day study - one day break - one day study - one day break - one day revision - one day break - one day of active recall. This is how I worked my way through it :)

First things first: The Alphabet

My number one recommendation to anyone who wants to learn Korean is the memorize the alphabet.

The Korean Alphabet is called Hangeul (한글). It constitutes 24 letters (14 consonants and 10 vowels - excluding complex/tense consonants and complex vowels which are basically a combination of the simple letters). This is how it looks:

"Pronunciations shown here are only rough approximations." This is why it is absolutely necessary to learn the alphabet first, before diving into grammar or sentence structures. Many Korean Coaches often emphasize how important it is to strengthen your basics when it comes to the Hangeul, so instead of depending on Romanizations, please spend a few days learning the Korean Alphabet first.

You're halfway through once you've accomplished this. And go slow with this too, replay pronunciations until you can repeat them perfectly, practice on a notebook with a pen - trust me, it works wonders - and keep dodging back on what you've learned.

Use this video as a reference to perfect your pronunciation and listening.

Taking the next step:

Once you've mastered the Hangeul, instead of jumping straight into language basics, I suggest you practice your reading for a few days. This could be any script that you pick up, or even signs/boards or even subtitles (if you're up for the challenge) that you can find on k-dramas or shows that you commonly watch.

The goal is not to understand what you read, it's to be able to read and perfect the ability to do so. Remember, it will take a lot of time, but it's an excellent investment and I'm sure you'll thank me later. There's nothing like the feeling of being able to read a foreign language (even if you don't understand it at this point lol).

Jumping right in:

Now that you've accomplished two things: writing and reading, you're ready to take the first leap into your journey of learning Korean. There are many ways you can do this:

TTMIK (Talk To Me In Korean) is a platform that I've made maximum use of while learning Korean. It's not only available on its own website which is talktomeinkorean.com (where you can create an account for free and begin your learning journey and also shop for books/courses that are more detailed) but also on Youtube in the form of short interactive videos and on Spotify in the form of Podcasts.

During the initial days, I was on fire for the language and would spend hours on end simply learning - listening to podcasts while I worked at home and studying the lessons in depth during sleepless nights. I'll attach a few pictures of the notes I used to make at the end of this to show you what it felt like firsthand.

You're free to purchase textbooks that teach you the language which would be awesome- but you can also find everything that you need for free on the net, so make maximum use of that. If you're up for it, buying Korean grammar textbooks from reliable sites that are dedicated to Korean Teaching Institutes would be a great idea. It's always better to have a hard copy when you're learning something for the first time, but if you can't then don't worry, you can do it all by yourself, just like I did!

Apart from TTMIK, once you start actively learning, you'll be able to do a lot of research based on what exactly you want to learn at a given point in time. For example; you could either continue learning from TTMIK until you finish all the 10 levels, but if you're interested in actually doing something with this skill, you can even choose to prepare for language tests that could even get you admission to a school/uni or a job in Korea! Of course, knowing the language isn't an absolute necessity, but interviewers (either for universities/jobs or scholarship embassies) would most likely pick you over someone who doesn't speak/understand Korean.

Last song: during my morning walk I randomly remembered the catchiest depression bop and then remembered the first time I looked up the guy's wiki and saw that he played hockey and I was like you're telling me a knife-footed ice-gremlin sang this???? (swiss juniors but still high level for his age bracket I think?) Anyway... Currently watching: My longstanding guilty pleasure is docs/commentary videos about any and all scams, particularly mlms/pyramid schemes. So it should come as no surprise that my brand new guilty pleasure is debt confessions/financial audits on youtube 🙈 I've been been watching a few by caleb hammer whose gimmick is that he gordon ramsey style shames people who come in with their financial records and he's like hey. why do you have $120,000 in consumer debt? why did you finance an ipad for your literal infant child?? why have you spent 30 dollars multiple times a day every day at dunkin for the last 3 months??? (the last one is an exaggeration but the first two I have seen LOL). His thumbnails are wretched I hate them so, so much, and his advice of living spartan-like for a few years to dig yourself out of the hole is ehhh maybe good in theory but generally not exactly...practical. And I think going cold turkey when you're used to constant impulse buying is basically a recipe for just eventually losing control and going on a bender. But. I'm nosy and love hearing about how people be spending their money so that's the best part of the videos for me lol

Currently reading: haven't picked up something new yet BUT I juuuust finished An Unauthorised Fan Treatise which was SO GOOD I literally slammed it nonstop for two days until I finished it. It's formatted like a rpf conspiracy theory livejournal where a fangirl of a supernatural-drama show compiles evidence that the two lead actors are secretly dating. BUT it's noted that the livejournal has been submitted as evidence into for a murder trial so y'know TWISTS AND TURNS lol. There's just something about the format that really compels me, idk I already love reading primers and conspiracies for hrpf couples that I literally have zero investment in and never will- I just enjoy the way the girlies spin a good narrative. (and also watching video essays about the uhhh less casual to super trainwreck ones like the whole larry fiasco even though I never got into 1D, as well as general fandom fiascos like msscribe and snapewives etc etc IT'S ALL SO FASCINATING TO ME 🍿👀) So it was a really natural fit for me to read in a fictional setting. Omgosh I’ve been meaning to type out a response while at work but it’s been really busy.

I watched Inside Llewyn Davis and I feel like the fandom pariah….I mean I didn’t NOT like it but I didn’t like it as much as I thought I would. Honestly, Oscar really carried that film. I feel like everyone else was a little static. But Omgosh I think it hit a little too close to home for me?? Him just spending the whole movie trying so hard and people just being so freakin mean to him just reminded me of myself and the constant hope of “maybe it’ll be different this time” only to have my hope drop at the next scene was heavy for me. Maybe one day I’ll rewatch it again when I’m a little less sad and it’ll watch differently? Also watched it with my mom and it wasn’t her type of movie so maybe if I watched it by myself I would pick up on more? Idk 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi!! I Can tell you’ve been to some khh concerts so I have some questions. So i’m going to DPR Concert in nov, and i’m wondering if you have any tips on how to deal with the crowd? Will there be a lot of pushing? I’m afraid i’m going to feel trapped with a lot of people around me.. and I’ve got early entre tickets. Does that mean I will be standing in the middle/or somewhat close to the stage? Last but not least - i’m only 158 cm😭 (I might wear 5 cm boots), but What are my chances of seeing anything? I know people like to record during khh concers

It will all depend on the venue setup. It might be helpful to know which venue/city you are attending. Many of these venues are 2-3x larger than the ones they booked in 2018. I'm still gonna try and answer, hopefully this is still helpful come Nov.

Early entry should put you somewhere in the middle. VIP will be first. However, I've noticed if you go to the sides of the stage instead of staying towards the middle (meaning center of the stage) you might be able to get up much closer without pushing past everyone. Everyone seemed to crowd toward the center cause they assumed it would be the "best" view so they kinda crowded there. But because I went to the side stage I basically ended up in the second row (I was one person behind the barricade) instead of having multiple "rows" of people in front of me. This has happened at multiple concerts for me. Sticking to the side if I'm not right against the barricade (I've only been against the barricade at ONE concert) has always worked for me and ended up getting me closer than being in the middle. Also, you might be able to see past people at an angle whereas, if people were right in front of you and the show is also right in front of you too, they'd block you. That said it's up to you, you'll be able to judge better once you actually get to the venue.

You have a good chance of being able to see. especially with the boots. There's actually not that many people recording most of the time. Except during specific songs ("Jasmine", we all turned our phone cameras on for that one since I think he asked for it ; there's also a "lights" project I've heard about that is supposed to take place during "Neon" during the Regime tour and we will [or at least at some dates] put colored plastic over the phone light in order to show "neon" lights back at him. Think of it like the lightstick thing in kpop. If you're interested in participating or learning more about that try looking up "DPR Lights Project" online or "DPR Lights" on twitter). Most people aren't recording the whole concert.

As for pushing, I heard some dates of CTYL tour were BAD about that. But by the time the LA date came around, a lot of people online had already complained about it for previous dates and so it seems like it didn't happen as bad there. Some people always plan to push forward so they can get a better view. It kinda is what it is. At one point Live told the concert goers to take a step or 2 back and then he continued. I can't remember if this was at the LA date or if it was in a video I watched on Youtube lol. Either way, the point is, if it gets too bad, Live is NOT Travis Scott (thankfully).

Other random tips:

Sometimes DPR Live liked to throw A LOT of water. Again, he didn't do this as much for the LA date. So I wouldn't spend a huge amount of time on your hair just in case. Or at least bring a hat for inside the venue LOL this is what I did. He didn't throw much water but it did end up raining that night and me and my friends were out and about after the concert.

Try to drink enough water. Not gonna lie, I don't think I've ever drank enough water on the day of a concert. Luckily nothing bad has happened to me because of it yet. It can get hot in venue + with pushing it can get crazy. That's how someone almost passed out at the Sik-K (and other) concerts. So try to drink what you can.

Try to find some people to hang out with at or after the concert if you're going alone. You can find people on twitter and facebook. All the DPR tour dates have a dedicated fb page now + I think there's a group called "DPR Worldwide" that I'm apart of. You can also go alone if you want too! No shame in that. I've gone alone a lot and it's really no big deal. Some people have hang up about that though. DPR fans are SUPER cool. You can also meet people the day of the show in line if you get there early enough.

there is going to be a press tour for we are, but their scheduling is horrible. there is going to be an insta live tomorrow, but they don’t have anything else lined up for the boys as of now despite the show being released in three days. i know it’s probably partly due to the whole win situation, because it initially was supposed to start airing from march 17th, but it’s still poor planning on gmmtv’s part

and tbh i did not expect them to pull it from youtube completely. if it is going to be behind a paywall there are definitely gonna be a lot less views than the show would’ve generated on youtube. i know 23.5 is also on netflix for some countries, but netflix is a different story because a lot of people already have a subscription for it while not a shitton of people will have an active iqiyi subscription

it kind of feels like they don’t want the show to be successful despite having at least two highly popular cps in their cast like what are you doing @ gmmtv

i truly hope this won’t become a trend with them putting shows on different platforms. i don’t care about them moving it afterwards like they did with simm or nomg, but i need my shows easily accessible on youtube while they’re airing, because i don’t want to spend a fortune on different streaming site subscriptions and a vpn

so as you probably have read in the meantime it seems like the show will still air on yt for international fans but will be an iqiyi exclusive for thai audience, or at least that's what i've gathered. but the lack of promo schedules is truly astounding in this situation and i can't really understand what gmmtv is doing here

tbh even if they air it on yt as planned some things still feel strange here, such as the weekday slot and the apparent lack of intention of doing proper promotion. the vibe i'm getting so far is not good in general but i might be biased since in all honesty i am not much of a fan of gmmtv as a company for a few reasons, so i often have a hard time when it comes to giving them the benefit of the doubt

let's hope things just crossed with the lol event by accident and/or poor planning on their side and they have more in store for the future, otherwise it might mean you're right and this show could be getting some variant of the Cooking Crush treatment for unknown reasons. these pairings are pretty popular indeed and unless this is wrong information i have been told once by this thai girl i on tiktok that PondPhuwin are one of the biggest sellers when it comes to gmmtv pairings, and if that's the case i'd have a hard time believing the company would sabotage one of their shows willingly. but i gave up trying to understand the reasoning behind gmmtv's actions a long time ago.

agreed on the last part, whether it was just a misunderstaing this time or not i am starting to feel a bit worried about the amount of times platforms are being involved in new releases, it seems to have become a recurrent thing recently and apparently gmmtv is removing some of their successful shows from yt to move them to payed subscription apps, an information that i don't really know how i'm supposed to take. all i know is i'm not spending a penny over a subscription to watch live any show simply basing on a trailer and a few bts videos so i too hope these shows will remain easily accessible now as much as in the future

Agust D - Agust D

I haven’t done a proper hip hop album yet, so this was a cool experience. It’s obviously intended to be more lyrical than melodic overall, and learning about the background of the album feels kind of essential to understand what’s going on. So, if you’re gonna listen to this album, definitely check out the Wikipedia page first.

I think I liked the experience. I certainly enjoyed a lot of the songs, and I like the picture that the album as a whole painted. I’m not convinced by the musicality of it; I don’t think I’ll end up listening to most of these songs ever, I really had to pay attention to the lyrics to appreciate them. But a couple of them were enough that I’ll be able to enjoy them without the lyrics. Plus the last song was actually SO good. Overall rating of 7.9 but… I would kind of take that with a grain of salt. I’ve never listened to another album quite like this, so I have nothing to compare that score to, really. I think a rating of 7.5 would be more appropriate.

- So, funny story here. I never intended to listen to anything Agust D, ever. But then earlier this year, for like two weeks straight, D-Day was everywhere I looked. It was all over kpop reddit and it was all over kpop youtube and so when it finally came out, the Haegeum MV was recommended to me literally everywhere. And so I caved and watched it, and I liked it enough to listen to the album. So I saved some songs from D-Day, and that was all. Then yesterday I was like “I should check out his other titles,” so I watched Agust D and Daechwita, and I loved them. So now I’m gonna go through their respective albums and see what I can see!

Also holy shit I just opened up Reddit and the first post on my reddit is “What is being said in the beginning of Agust D?” from 8 minutes ago. If that isn’t a sign then idk what is lmao

So far this album seems to be more lyrical than anything, but I’m not totally convinced by the musicality of it. Maybe I’d rate it higher if it was in English, but also, I know what he can do. He’s got more levels to go from this.
