The Bachelors on their Wedding Day
Hi Hello have this short list of my little Headcanons of the bachelors on their wedding day. Hope you enjoy it! Reblogs and likes are appreciated!!🌷🤍
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
ʚ🏈ɞ ˚ · . Alex :
🏈 Fiddles with his tie relentlessly and ends up ruining it. He runs to Evelyn to ask her to tie it up again. The only other thing he fusses over is his hair.
🏈 Alex keeps a rabbit's foot in his pants, wanting all the luck he can get.
🏈 Spent literal days writing his wedding vows. Ends up opting to wing it. It wasn't the most eloquently worded thing you've heard but it was sweet.
🏈 He gave himself a pep talk in his bedroom before the ceremony. You only know about this because George was complaining about how loud he was to you.
🏈 Dusty the dog is the mermaid pendant bearer, I decided.
🏈 Also, the song that plays during the wedding is the same tune from Alex's music box. 🥺
Tumblr media
ʚ🪶ɞ ˚ · . Elliott :
🪶Beach wedding. You guys have a beach wedding. You've expressed your interest in one and Elliott, with the eager help of Willy, clean up the beach for your special day. Elliott's shoes would fill with sand but his discomfort is overpowered by his delight when he sees you all dressed up.
🪶 He reads you one (of many) of his poems about you. You later learned that he's got a whole book of poetry about you that he's been writing ever since you two started dating. The poem he read on the wedding day was the very first one and is the first page of the book.
🪶 He spent hours trying to make himself look good. Asking for Leah and Willy's input on what he should wear for a solid 3 hours.
🪶 Aside from him worrying over his appearance, Elliott is more excited than nervous. He's on the verge of creating a new chapter in his life with someone else. Gone are the days of his lonely shack and the empty (well, not as empty since you moved into town) beach. Honestly, to say that he's excited is an understatement.
Tumblr media
ʚ🛩️ɞ ˚ · . Harvey :
🛩️ Gets awfully shy when reading his vows, stuttering his way through his words and being a blushing mess. He has no problem with the one-on-one check up sessions he does with the other villagers of Pelican Town, but to read aloud in front of all of them at once threw him off. But he kept his eyes on you and managed to power through it.
🛩️ He considered shaving off his mustache for the wedding at least twice. But he decided against the idea.
🛩️ Insisted that you eat Farmer's Brunch the morning of the wedding. Even during your wedding day, he wants to make sure you're feeling healthy.
🛩️ Holds your hands throughout the whole ceremony. Whispering apologies for how clammy his hands are.
Tumblr media
ʚ🎸ɞ ˚ · . Sam :
🎸 He wrote a whole song about you and played it on your wedding day. He made it a surprise for you and the moments of him hiding his guitar and shoving music sheets under his bed when you visit his room were all starting to make sense to you.
🎸 Couldn't sleep for the whole night before the wedding. He worried over the ceremony and wanted to make it go smoothly. He's not one to meticulously plan every detail, opting to engage in spur of the moment decisions, but he tried his best to make everything as close to perfect as he can get.
🎸 Jodi tried to gel Sam's hair back, but no matter the amount of gel and hours, his hair would always spring back. Sam wasn't a fan of dressing up in a "dorky suit" but he did anyway, for you.
🎸 Sam didn't want to see you until the wedding so he got Vincent to play messenger for the two of you. He wouldn't do it at first but only agreed to do it because he likes you (Cue a dramatic gasp from Sam).
Tumblr media
ʚ🐸ɞ ˚ · . Sebastian :
🐸 Ends up smiling through the whole ceremony, looking at you with such a brightness in his eyes.
🐸 He isn't one to wear anything fancy. The closest thing he ever wore that is considered formal was the suit that Lewis got him and the rest of the dancers to wear for the Flower Dance. He asks his mom to help him dress up for the wedding, asking her about it while she was building furniture. Sebastian doesn't want to admit it, but he liked watching his mom so happy over something that was so mundane to him. He makes sure to keep the suit in perfect condition throughout the ceremony because of it.
🐸 He tells his very heartfelt wedding vows. And while he does, you could hear the faint "that's good," from Elliott before a grunt, inevitably elbowed on the side by Leah.
🐸 You and him ride on his motorcycle after the wedding. He drives you two to the cliff overlooking the city, the same cliff where he confessed his true feelings to you. Under the full moon, the two of you would look at the stars with Sebastian occasionally pointing at a constellation that Maru taught him to find.
🐸 Consider: winter wedding.
Tumblr media
ʚ🐣ɞ ˚ · . Shane :
🐣 Genuinely doesn't believe that you want to marry him. He thinks it's a dream at best and a prank at worst. It wasn't until you were tying his mermaid pendant around his neck for him to know that you do love him. He still has trouble understanding it sometimes.
🐣 Shane asked Marnie to teach him how to waltz for your wedding day. Sure, he's danced in the Flower Dance countless of times but he wanted to learn something new to surprise you. And he did. After dancing with you, he dances with Jas. Well, it's more of Jas standing on Shane's feet while he walks and glides around.
🐣 He gave his chicken, Charlie, a bow tie for the wedding and everything. Even got a picture of you and Shane with the little guy. The picture ends up being hanged on Shane's side of the bedroom for many years to come.
🐣 Has his pocket full of corn chips, let's be honest. He offers one to you before the ceremony starts.

You Scared Me
Pairing: Dean Winchester x Reader and Sam Winchester x Reader (platonic)
Request: They are on a hunt despite her feeling off since waking up, but she don't want to bother the boys. She gets worse and her breathing more difficult [...] I trust you with more details, like her worsen, the boys maybe don't notice at first until they hear her coughing and wheezing. Add some angst and fluff and looooots of worried Dean and Sam and you make a little reader heart very happy.
Masterlist
Story
She knew something had been off since the previous day. She'd been tired all day, hadn't had any appetite, and hadn't wanted to talk to anyone. Sam had found a new case, some sort of unexplained disappearances several towns over, and she'd been less than enthusiastic about having to go. Sam and Dean hadn't really questioned it, Sam already absorbed in research and Dean already packing things and getting his car ready for a long drive. [Y/N] had spent the day in bed, flicking through her phone, watching TV, and falling in and out of naps. She finally fell asleep fully at 11pm, and was woken up by a single bang on her door, followed by a flood of light over her eyes as the door opened.
"I told you we were leaving early, get your ass out of bed". Dean was standing in her doorway, arms crossed, already dressed and ready for the hunt ahead. She glared at him while he stood there, clearly not moving until he had evidence that she was going to get up. "Come on, we don't have all day! Baby's already loaded up and ready, Sam's waiting, I'm waiting, it's just you that's left". She picked up her pillow and tossed it at him before turning over and facing away from him.
[Y/N] had been living with the Winchesters for a couple of months now, but had known them for a few years. They'd met through Jody, they'd dropped by to visit her after a hunt one day while [Y/N] was staying with her, and she'd ended up giving them her number and told them to call her if they ever needed help with a case. [Y/N] was particularly good with ghosts, and Dean had called her only two weeks later to help out with a ghost case while Sam's leg was broken. It turned out that they worked really well together, and she'd called them a few weeks later to help with a case of her own. It then turned out that all three of them worked well as a team. Over the course of a year or so, they ended up working all cases together, and [Y/N] had stayed in the bunker a few times too. Then, two months ago, Sam asked her why she didn't just stay, that it would be easier to all be in the same place since the worked the same cases anyway, and so she stayed.
"[Y/N]..." Dean's voice had a warning tone to it, and she listened as he walked over to her bed. "Are you coming or not?" She mumbled something into her sheets, something not particularly nice about Dean, but he didn't pay any attention to it as he pulled the covers off her.
"Dean! Jesus, I'm getting up okay? A bit of privacy? I'm not Sam". She pulled her covers back over herself, having only slept in her underwear during the night as she felt hot, but Dean wasn't looking at her, already heading back towards the door.
"You need to be at the car in 15 minutes. Skip breakfast, we'll stop somewhere on the way. Just shower and dress". He called back over his shoulder as he walked down the hallway. She rolled her eyes and breathed in to sigh, but her breath caught in her throat and she ended up coughing, quickly pulling the covers over her mouth to muffle the noise. The last thing she needed was for Sam or Dean to not only insist that she stay in the bunker, but that one of them stay behind with her. She really didn't like it when one of the boys went on a solo hunt. They made stupid decisions when they hunted together at the best of times, but even worse decisions when they were out there alone. Any time one of them went on a case on their own, she wouldn't be able to do anything but worry until they got back. She knew if they thought she was sick, they wouldn't let her go. She also knew that if they thought she was sick, they wouldn't leave her alone either, sending one of them off alone. So, she cleared her throat, and pushed herself off the bed, grabbing some clothes and a towel before heading to shower. She figured a quick shower would help wake her up, and she decided on a cold shower, since she suspected she had a bit of a temperature. She elected to try and ignore it.
In fifteen minutes, as per Dean's orders, she was washed and dressed, had packed her hunting back, and stepped into the garage, where she found Sam sitting in the Impala and Dean leaning on it, arms crossed, waiting for her. "You said fifteen minutes, I'm here". She said as she avoided his gaze and opened up the back door to shove her bag onto the seat before sliding in herself. She was about to pull the door closed behind her when Dean stopped it.
"Are you feeling okay?" He asked, leaning down to look at her.
"Yeah, fine". She brushed him off and Sam turned around in his seat to look at her.
"You do look a bit pale [Y/N]". Sam frowned at her and she rolled her eyes.
"I'm fine Sam, really". She turned to look up at Dean. "Are we going or are we just gonna sit here and chat?" He breathed in sharply but closed the door, then walked around to the driver's side and got in. As soon as he started up the engine, he turned on one of his tapes, and [Y/N] leaned her head against the window. She knew she'd have a couple of hours before they stopped for food, so she was going to try and get a bit of sleep while she could.
***
[Y/N] was woken up by a light shaking on her leg. Slowly opening her eyes, she saw Sam turned around in his seat, reaching over to shake her with his hand on her thigh. "Hey, you fell asleep. We're at a diner, gonna get some food". Looking over to Dean's spot, she saw he was already out of the car. She rubbed her eyes and nodded at Sam, so he got out too. Once his door was closed she coughed into her elbow, her throat still feeling scratchy, like there was something caught in it. Her head was also aching now, which probably wasn't helped by leaning it against the hard glass of the window for however long she'd been out. She stretched before grabbing her bag and stepped out of the car, covering her eyes when the sun shone straight into them. She followed the boys into the diner and slid into a booth, pretending to look at a menu. Even just the thought of eating something made her feel nauseous, so there was no way she was going to be able to eat in front of the boys.
Dean flashed the waitress his signature smile while he ordered a cheeseburger, earning a disgusted face from Sam. "For breakfast Dean? Seriously?" Sam shook his head and looked up to the waitress. "Uh for me just a coffee, thanks". The waitress turned her attention to [Y/N].
"And for you?"
"Oh, um... just a glass of water please". [Y/N] said as she handed the menu over to her. Once the waitress had left, both boys raised an eyebrow at [Y/N]. "What?"
"Why didn't you order anything?" Sam asked.
"You only ordered coffee, what's the big deal?"
"I ate before we left, since I was up before both of you. You haven't eaten anything and we have another long drive after this".
"Yeah, not to mention a hunt, you should eat something [Y/N]". Dean said to her.
"I'll eat later, I'm just not hungry right now". The two boys shared a look but didn't push it. [Y/N] thought she would throw up several times as Dean ate his burger, every time she caught a glance of the grease dripping down his chin. The smell of Sam's coffee didn't help either, nor did the sunlight reflecting off the cutlery on the table beside them, catching in her eyes and adding to the headache. Sam and Dean talked about the hunt ahead, and [Y/N] nodded or said 'yeah' every so often to make it seem like she was listening, but she was really just focusing on trying not to cough in front of them. When Dean belched she had to excuse herself and almost ran to the restroom. She leaned over the toilet for a few minutes and she vomited, though there wasn't much to throw up. She knelt back when she was done and took a few deep breaths, each time being interrupted by a coughing fit. She wiped her forehead and could feel sweat on it, she knew she had a high temperature. It was going to get harder to hide it from Sam and Dean, but she wasn't going to let them send her back home. She was going to stay on the hunt with them and see it through.
***
[Y/N] had been trying to fall back to sleep in the car for the two hours that had passed since she'd come out of the diner's restroom. She felt cold now, and after complaining about it every five minutes for an hour, Dean had shoved his jacket back at her. She also complained that his music was too loud and kept complaining until he just turned it off. At first he was worried that something was wrong, but Sam had asked her several times and she'd insisted that she was fine, so he stopped asking. Now they were both annoyed with her, she wouldn't even let them talk about the case, snapping at them to shut up twice already. She couldn't get comfortable, even with Dean's jacket. She kept twisting and turning in her seat, trying to find a position that eased the aches she was feeling, but nothing worked. She resorted to just staring out of the window until their next stop, another diner, where she ordered fries to stop the boys saying something else. She managed to get through half of them before she had to excuse herself to the restroom to throw them back up, only barely making it to the toilet on time.
After a third long drive, it was dark when they got to a motel. Dean opened the door to their room and [Y/N] noticed it was their usual set up; two beds and a couch. The boys nearly always took the beds while she took the couch, and this time was no different. Luckily for [Y/N], both Sam and Dean were tired after the long day and immediately went to sleep. She decided to step outside for a few minutes and try to let the cold air cool her down, also using the time to try and clear her throat properly since she'd been trying to not cough in the car. The air was an immediate relief, and she stood outside the door for twenty minutes, looking up at the stars in the sky until she was too tired. As soon as her head hit her pillow on the couch, she was out.
***
Unfortunately, the next morning she had woken up feeling even worse. She was struggling to hide it from the boys, and had realised as soon as she'd woken up that she had a new symptom. Now she was dizzy, and found it difficult to find her balance. She had thrown out her breakfast when they weren't looking, both having been too invested in a bit of research Sam had found on his laptop, but she'd coughed several times in front of them, no longer able to hold it in. Sam had commented twice on how pale she looked, and Dean had commented that the cough sounded like it was in her chest every time, but she'd insisted there was just something caught in her throat. The boys' research had all pointed to a djinn, and the most likely place that it was hiding was in a large abandoned hotel not too far from where the three were staying. Opting to not bring a silver knife dipped in lamb's blood, they had decided to just aim for its head and either chop it off or cause enough damage to kill it.
It had been Dean's idea to split up and each take different floors of the hotel. [Y/N] took the ground floor and had been looking in and out of different rooms, glancing around for any evidence of the djinn. It was slow, she had to keep stopping to either sit down or lean against a wall to catch her breath and cough, trying to keep it quiet in case the djinn was around. She made it to what looked like a conference room when her vision started going blurry, and black spots formed around her periphery. Before she had time to find somewhere to sit, she was on the ground, unconscious.
***
"How many times did you ask her if she was okay?" The voice was muffled, but [Y/N] recognised it as Dean's.
"Let's just get her back to the motel, we can talk about it later. She's burning up". Sam's voice was also accompanied by a vibration against her side, and she soon realised that he was walking, carrying her and holding her against his chest. She tried to open her eyes but they were too heavy.
She heard Dean sigh. "Is it bad enough for the hospital?"
"I don't think so, we should be able to cool her down at the motel". Sam stopped walking and she heard a car door open. His grip on her tightened as he lowered himself into the car, and she felt another pair of hands on her, helping Sam position her so she was lying down with her head on his lap. She felt his fingers brush her hair out of her face and then the back of his hand was on her forehead. "I think she's actually cooled down a bit since we found her, just drive quickly?" She pictured Dean nodding as she heard the door close behind her and a door in front of her open before she heard the car's engine start up. Although she still felt out of it and could feel herself slipping back to sleep, she knew both boys were annoyed, if not angry, and she wasn't looking forward to waking up and dealing with that.
***
She was vaguely aware of Sam pushing her out of the car into Dean's arms, and both of them mumbling to each other as Dean carried her to their room. He lay her down on something soft and felt her forehead. "She seems really sick Sammy, how far away is the nearest hospital?"
"There isn't one anywhere closeby, I'll run out and see if I can pick up some stuff that will help though". She heard the sound of keys being thrown and caught, a quick reassurance from Sam that she was going to be okay, and then the door closing as Sam left. Dean let out a deep breath and she felt the bed dip beside her. "You're okay". He whispered as he unzipped her jacket, wanting to get her out of the extra layers and cool her down. "You scared me. We couldn't find you, we thought the djinn got you, but it didn't know anything about you when we found it". She felt as he got off the bed to pull her shoes off. "It felt like it took forever to find you, and when we did... fuck [Y/N]. You were slumped on the ground, covered in sweat. You didn't wake up when I shouted, you didn't wake up when I shook you, you didn't wake up when Sam picked you up. You scared me". He walked away for a few minutes, and when he came back she felt something cold on her forehead. She tried to open her eyes again but they were still too heavy, and she was too tired to speak. "You scared me, but you're okay, you're gonna be okay. Sammy's going to get you some stuff to make you feel better, then we'll get you home. You just rest". His thumb lightly stroked her cheek, and she let herself drift off again.
***
The room was only dimly lit when she finally awoke and opened her eyes. She looked over and saw Sam and Dean's figures sitting at the little table in the motel room, silhouetted as they sat in front of the window. She immediately realised that she was in the bed that Dean had slept in the previous night, since the pillow smelled like him. They weren't talking, Sam's face was lit up from his laptop, while Dean stared out the window taking sips from his beer. She watched them for several moments, not wanting to kick start a lecture. Unfortunately she couldn't help the cough that came from her chest, and both boys looked in her direction to see her looking back at them.
"Hey". [Y/N] said timidly, noticing how Dean's jaw was clenched. Sam however, stood up and walked straight over to her to take the wet cloth off her forehead.
"How do you feel?" He asked, using a tissue to dab away the water that was left behind.
"Not great". She admitted, looking away from him, but she heard Dean scoff and looked back to Sam for a response.
"Dean's pretty annoyed that you said you were fine when you weren't". Sam threw away the tissue and sat down on the bed beside her, frowning down at her.
"I'm annoyed because you put us all in danger with your arrogance and stupidity". Dean put his bottle down a little too forcefully on the table.
"Dean, give her a few minutes okay? We can have this conversation later". Ignoring Sam, Dean stood up and walked over to the bed, arms crossed and glaring down at her.
"You never, ever lie about your health while on a hunt. You could've gotten yourself killed. You could've gotten me killed, or Sam. You know better than that". She felt tears start to form in her eyes, being scolded by Dean hurt. She would never usually let herself cry in front of the boys, but she just had no energy to try and hold it in. Dean had already looked away though, missing her tears and staring back out the window. It was Sam who noticed the tear escape [Y/N]'s eye, and his frown quickly dissolved as he leaned over to wipe it away.
"I'm sorry". Her voice was shaky, and she sniffed, calling Dean's attention as he turned back to look at her. Sighing, he knelt down on the floor beside her.
"Why didn't you just tell us that you were sick? Why did you come on the hunt?"
"I worry". She looked down as Sam wiped another of her tears away. "When you're out there without me, or one of you goes alone, I worry. If I told you I was sick you would've made me stay home and I wouldn't have been able to sleep or anything".
Dean shared a look with Sam, hoping he'd know how to respond to that. "Yeah, I worry too [Y/N]. I get that. You worried both of us earlier though, do you get that? You collapsed when neither of us were there to catch you, you could've hit you head, you could've been found defenceless by the djinn. Dean's right, you should've told us you weren't feeling well". He paused to feel her forehead quickly, nodding at Dean to signal that she was cooler now. "How about if one of us is too sick to hunt, we make a deal to always tell each other. We have a network of hunters to call, someone else can take over. We're a team, so if one of us is sick, the other two can take a break from hunting and just look after them and help them get better. How does that sound?" [Y/N] looked between both brothers before nodding in agreement, and Sam smiled at her and reached to squeeze her hand.
"Then it's a deal". Dean smiled at her too, happy with the solution Sam had come up with. "Now there's only one other issue to discuss". [Y/N] looked to him, confused. "You're in my bed". He chuckled. "So you have a decision to make. You wanna keep it to yourself? I don't mind taking your couch for the night. Or, I can offer you a cuddle buddy for the night instead". She knew this was Dean's version of apologising for being angry at her, and she couldn't help but accept it when she saw how genuine his expression was.
"I think a cuddle buddy would help me feel better".
"Yeah? Okay. Sam, time for you to get off the bed". Sam quickly followed Dean's command, standing up, leaning down to give [Y/N] a quick kiss on her forehead, and made his way over to his own bed, smiling at the sincere interaction between his brother and [Y/N]. [Y/N] moved over a bit while Dean kicked off his shoes and shoved down his jeans before lifting up the covers and sliding in beside her. Laying on his back, he slid an arm under her shoulders and pulled her over to lean her head on his chest. He looked down and pressed his lips to the top of her head before pulling the covers up higher around both of them. He gently traced different shapes over the thin sheet that covered her arm, doing his best to try and lull her back to sleep for the night. She was safe now in his arms, and he wasn't scared anymore.
The end

What Their Family Thinks About You {Some Stardew Valley Marriage Candidate’s}
Obviously not all the candidates are included in this one, and even some I didn’t write since they seemed very similar to another (like Haley’s was like Emily’s for example).
The characters included in this one includes Sebastian, Sam, Alex, Shane, Abigail, Emily, and Penny :))
TW: There’s angst in these headcanons, some headcanons including slightly heavy topics.
Tumblr media
Sam:
Sam waited for a bit before properly introducing you as his significant partner. A part of him probably felt a little shy about it for some reason.
But Jodi already had a feeling you were dating. Sam made it pretty obvious since he was pretty bad at sneaking you in and sneaking himself out of the house, plus Sam get’s goo-goo eyes when he looks or talks about you, even before you two started dating. Not to mention the fact that Vincent constantly went to her and talked about how he saw the Farmer with Sam, and usually flustered Sam when he talked about you.
But Jodi was still ecstatic when Sam finally had the guts to tell her. She insisted that he brought you over ASAP for a family dinner.
She’s very kind to you. Well… She always was, right when you came to the valley. But it seems like she somehow became even sweeter the moment Sam showed interest in you. You were making her son happy, so of course that’d make her love you more!
You were always sweet anyway. You did your best to help the entire valley, not just her son.
Vincent also seemed to take a liking to you before you started dating Sam. You always played with him, and gave him little gifts when you could. Though, he did sometimes play the role of the little sibling who always (accidentally or purposely) stole the attention of the Farmer from Sam. And sure, it sometimes bothers Sam, but he doesn’t want to be mean to Vincent. He’s honestly just more happy that Vincent likes you at all.
And then there’s his father, Kent.
Kent is a bit harder to get closer with, considering the things he’s been through. He’s not mean to you by any means, but he’s just a little hesitant to build up more relationships.
He warms up to you, slowly but surely. He’s glad you’ve been there for his wife and kids, and he’s happy that Sam is happy with you. He’ll become more talkative with you as time goes on, and start showing his appreciation with sending you some useful things in the mail and such.
The family all treat you as their own, and Sam is more than pleased! He knew his family would love you, but it still excited him that they do!
Jodi invites you to dinner at least once a week, and there, Vincent always wants to play with you. And even if Kent is usually pretty quiet, he asks you about the farm, and you guys sometimes chit-chat about certain topics when you come over. Then the evening is finished off with a lovely dinner from Jodi.
When you and Sam head off to your shared home, you jump when Sam wraps his arms around you. You’re confused for a moment, but melt when Sam gives you a loving smile.
“Thanks for getting along with my family… I don’t know how I got so lucky .”
Sam is usually pretty excitable and loud. But this time, he’s more quiet. It’s oddly sentimental.
“Aww… You’re getting all red in the face, sunshine! You’re so cute…”
Shane:
Shane probably didn’t feel a need to really hide his relationship, since Marnie, like Jodi, could tell that Shane loved you. As for Jas, she helped push you to give Shane a bouquet, so of course she knew too.
But he partially did want to hide away from Marnie at the beginning of your relationship, since she liked to tease you two a whole lot. She usually did with a whole lot of teasing puns, which made it feel worse for Shane.
But after the whole teasing phase, she’s very warm and kind to you. She often lets you know how appreciative she is that you had helped Shane through such a hard time in his life. She admitted to you she had almost given up, but you had come into the valley, and she believed you to practically be an angel.
Jas also adored your company. Warming up to Shane caused Jas to warm up to you as well, to the point where, like Vincent, she also wanted to play with you all the time, sometimes taking you away from Shane.
Shane didn’t do anything to stop her. It warmed his heart Jas liked you so much. It made him love you even more then he already did. He constantly thanked you for spending time with her, and showing her so much kindness.
I don’t think Marnie would invite you to dinner, but not because she dislikes you. She invites Lewis to dinner all the time, and if you play/watch Stardew Valley, you should know why dinner isn’t an option.
But, Jas does like to come to your house to dinner, if you’re fine with it of course. She also likes to spend time with you and Shane both, so you three constantly do fun things together.
Also, I’ve said this before, but there’s a headcanon I’ve seen in the past of Jas potentially living with Shane after he moves in with you. If she couldn’t live there 100% of the time, she’d at least have a room there.
One of Jas’s favorite moments was learning to bake with you two. Shane didn’t really have experience baking, but you’ve baked before after getting some recipes from ‘The Queen of Sauce’ and from some of the villagers in the valley.
After you had taught Shane and Jas how to bake one of her favorites, a strawberry cake, you three sat around the table, Jas kicking her legs happily as she took a bite of her slice of cake. She glanced up at you and Shane, seeing you giving his a kiss on the cheek as you handed him a soda.
“Thanks pumpkin.”
Jas watched as he fiddled with his mermaids pendent while staring at you, as you got a piece of cake for yourself too. He looked completely whipped for you, and even Jas could tell he was utterly in love. Suddenly, a question popped up in her mind. She paused before she looked up at Shane.
“Uncle Shane?”
“Yeah?”
“Are you and Y/n going to give me a cousin soon?”
Shane then proceeded to almost choke on his drink as you stood there is a flustered haze.
Abigail:
Abigail actually told her mother, Caroline, immediately when you guys got together. She just couldn’t keep it a secret when she was this excited! However, she wasn’t excited when it came to her dad… She did not want to tell Pierre.
I feel most of us have the general agreement that Pierre is one of the worst people in the valley. He just isn’t that nice of a person, and I feel like Abigail is smart enough to see that. She loves her dad, but he’s painfully traditional and greedy. He tends to make her angry because of how annoyingly ignorant he can be sometimes.
She knew she’d have to tell him one day, but not now. So, she asked her mom to keep quiet, at least for awhile. And Caroline thankfully does like you, and she was aware of her husband’s nature and how it could come off. So, she agreed, but wanted Abigail to tell him eventually.
It was probably a bit awkward for you to be shopping at Pierre’s while he remained unknowing of your relationship with his daughter, but it was honestly a blissful two months of silence from Pierre.
And then one day, Caroline had finally had enough, and told Pierre. She meant no ill will, but she thought it’d only be a week or two of not saying anything, not two months.
And Pierre was not happy. Abigail got in trouble with her father, and he even almost picked a fight with you. So now, Abigail wasn’t happy with her mother or her father.
But this didn’t hurt your relationship, Abigail loved you dearly, she always has!
But after this, Pierre only got worse in Abigail’s eyes. His initial anger wore off, sure, but then his greedy side came in.
He started trying to convince you to “share a family business.” And at first, you did give him some of your crops, since you did want him to like you, but then he sold the crops that were yours and claimed them as his own, and called the bad crops he grew yours. It was salt in the wound when he paid you less then what your crops were worth.
When Abigail caught wind of this, she was furious.
“Dad, you can’t just take Y/n’s money like that! Who do you think you are!?”
You felt bad it strained their relationship a bit, but Abigail assured you it wasn’t your fault.
Even if Pierre wasn’t the best, Caroline did try her best. She and Abigail were on bad terms for a moment after Caroline told Pierre, but Abigail forgave her shortly after, since she could understand where her mom was coming from. Plus, Caroline did make Pierre pay the actual worth of your crops, and even secretly told some of the villagers that they were indeed your crops (but sadly framed it as a mix up instead of the actual story).
You also noticed something odd… The Wizard was being nicer to you! But thats probably just a coincidence… Right?
After you two got married, Pierre tried harder to start a business with you, but you rejected it over and over. Abigail eventually told him to stop bothering you, causing further strain.
You confessed to Abigail you still felt bad over the whole incident, and she oddly she just giggled at this.
“Y/n, you’re too sweet. I keep telling you it’s not your fault! I love you, so of course I’m going to defend you. I always will.”
Emily:
Emily was pretty excited getting into the relationship, and it didn’t take long for her to want you to spend more time with her sister.
Haley, of course, knew you were in a relationship with Emily. Emily never stopped talking about you even before the relationship, and when she came home with the bouquet, cheering and practically running around the house, Haley put the pieces together pretty quickly.
And sure, Haley met you, and you two knew each other, but she wasn’t sure if she approved of you quite yet. She knew you were nice, since practically everyone in town wouldn’t shut up about you, but she really loves her sister, and wants to make sure the person her sister loves isn’t a bad person, y’know?
or isn’t someone like Clint
So, Emily invited you to dinner after her sister insisted. Honestly, you were slightly intimidated. Haley is a bit ruthless at times, sometimes described as mean, so you wanted to make a good impression.
So, you had brought gifts for the two of them, and Haley was surprised that you had gotten not only Emily a gift she loved, but you also got a gift for Haley, and it was also a gift she loved.
Then, throughout the evening, you had continued to make a good impression. You treated Emily so well and showed an interest in what Haley liked. You never said anything remotely mean to either of them, or even anything shady about any of the villagers.
Soon, Emily excused herself to the bathroom, leaving you and Haley alone. You were about to start a conversation about a topic she’d enjoy, but she interrupted you.
“Alright… Listen… I can already tell you’ll be a good fit for my sister. You seem really nice, and you treat my sister well. It also gives you points you aren’t like that creep Clint… But just promise me that you’ll treat her well for a long time, okay? I swear to god if you ever make her cry I’ll kick your ass.”
Of course you promised Haley, but then you two heard a loud “aww” from the doorway.
Haley was beyond embarrassed her sister heard all of that, but Emily was swooning, thinking it was the sweetest thing in the world.
“Were you standing there the entire time?!”
“I couldn’t help myself! It was just so sweet to hear!”
Penny:
You were well aware that Pam wasn’t the best at times, so it was understandable Penny was included on the group of people who would prefer your relationship remain on the down low for awhile.
But Penny is the sweetest person in the valley (besides Evelyn of course), so she didn’t want to hide it for a long time. After all, she loved her mom despite her faults. It was just kind of hard to start a conversation about relationships with her.
You offered to be there when Penny told her, but Penny insisted she wanted to tell her alone. It wasn’t that she didn’t want you there, but she felt as if Pam might take it wrongly at first since Penny kept it quiet for a little while.
And she was right. Pam took it as if she was embarrassed of her or something, which wasn’t the case at all. Pam needed time to cool off, and when she came back to Penny, she was still irritated. She gave Penny the silent treatment for a couple days, which really hurt her feelings. Luckily, you were there at her side, so it made it a little easier.
“Thank you, honey… I don’t know what I’d do if you weren’t by my side.”
Pam was conflicted. She wanted Penny to be happy, but felt like this was the start of losing Penny, since her daughter was really the only thing she really has. The fact Penny didn’t say anything didn’t help, and seemed to make Pam think that this was her reality now. Not to mention she didn’t really have a good experience with love, Penny’s father leaving the two of them.
Pam had thought about it a lot at the saloon. She realized after a few days that Penny couldn’t have meant anything bad by it, since it really wasn’t in Penny’s nature, she knew that. And you weren’t like her ex-husband. Even if you two didn’t really talk much, you had the kindness to literally buy her and Penny a house. But she still felt like she would lose Penny either way.
Pam accepts your relationship, but isn’t really excited about it like some of the family members on this list.
When Penny inevitably moves out, it continues to eat at her.
But Penny makes the effort to visit her mother, and invite her to holidays. Pam doesn’t always go to the farm for the holidays, but sometimes she comes and visits.
After awhile, she realizes you are good for Penny, way better then she was. It still doesn’t make her excited, and it even eats up at her more.
Penny is a bit disheartened her mother doesn’t seem happy for her, but she knows she can’t always help her, no matter how hard she tries. She does try to constantly remind her mother she’s always there for her, but Pam is stubborn.
Regardless, Penny is still happy with you and Pam, even if it isn’t the happiest ending.
Sebastian:
Sebastian didn’t want to tell his family for so many reasons.
The biggest reason was that, in his eyes, they wouldn’t really care anyway.
Maybe his mom would, but Demetrius definitely wouldn’t, and Maru is pretty indifferent to things involving him. She won’t jump for joy if something good happens in his life, but she wouldn’t laugh or make his life worse if something bad happened. He’s also in no contact with his biological father, so it’s not like he can tell him, even if he wanted to.
A part of his did want to express his joy with his family, or for them to be happy for him, but he wasn’t even included in the little things, so he doubted they’d care if he started dating someone, even if it was a relationship as serious as yours.
He is glad he can express his happiness with Sam and Abigail though, and they don’t mind listening, no matter if he babbled about you or not.
He eventually does tell his mom after she admits someone had told her about you and Sebastian. She cares a lot more then Demetrius and Maru, and feels guilty the reason why he didn’t tell them in the first place, not to mention that she didn’t even notice for a long time.
Robin happened to tell Demetrius and Maru. As Sebastian predicted, Demetrius didn’t care, and often forgot about it entirely. Maru frustrated Sebastian quite a bit when she expressed her surprise that someone like Y/n would date someone like him. She didn’t really mean it in a bad way, but it defiantly came out in such a way.
Robin seemed like the only one who made an effort to connect with you. She tried to push Demetrius and Maru and get involved, but they expressed no interest, Maru usually being busy and Demetrius being a shitty step-dad.
One day, out of no where, Sebastian had said something that truly made your heart ache;
“… I’m sorry my family is a bit distant from me. I know it can hurt your feelings, but it isn’t your fault at all. It’s mine…”
It was truly painful to hear Sebastian blame himself for that kind of this when it really wasn’t his fault either. You were quick to assure him that you loved him, not his family. You assured him it wasn’t his fault either.
He sighed, melting into your hands.
“Thank you… I just… I love you, and I want to make sure you’re happy.”
Of course you’re happy. Who wouldn’t be happy with someone as sweet as him? <33
Alex:
Alex doesn’t really have parents to introduce you to like in the movies. It bothers him a bit, since a part of him did want those cheesy moments where you introduce your significant other to your parents, who swoon over your partner and express how much they support and love the relationship.
But he didn’t have that. It was pretty hard to think about, so he tried to concern himself with more bright topics, like his grandmother, Evelyn.
Evelyn already accepted you with open arms since you came to the valley, and that didn’t change when Alex introduced you as his significant other.
She was even more delighted that you and Alex were together. You were so sweet, and you would be such a delightful addition to the family.
Alex was a bit disappointed that George is a bit more pessimistic and bitter, so he wasn’t necessarily welcoming, but Alex knew he should have expected that since his grandpa was a grump.
He was still grateful for them, don’t get me wrong. Even if George is grumpy, you were still welcomed into the family by Evelyn. She constantly made you feel like you did belong there, and made you both aware that she supported and love your relationship.
“Oh… You are such a sweetheart… I know that if you had the chance to meet Clara, she would adore you so much.”
Evelyn saying that to you made Alex choke up. He did end up crying with you in private, but not because Evelyn hurt his feelings, of course not. Just the thought of Clara meeting you was so emotional to think about.
… However… Alex always had the fear his past would come back to haunt him. He always feared his dad may try to interfere with his life at some point. He knew his dad had no idea where he could be if he did try to find him, but the fear was always there.
He confessed this to you in private, and you were quick to be by his side, promising him that his dad would never find him, and if he tried, you would be by his side. The idea of you doing something like that for him made his love for you grow even more so.
“… I love you. I really appreciate you always being here for me like this.”

More The Power of the Doctor tidbits from LI Who panels before I forget.
Major spoilers to some of the big reveals in that story, so I'm gonna cut this, just in case.
The scenes with Ace and Tegan speaking to their hologram-Doctor were a bit complicated: their Doctor(s) weren't there on the day (and at any rate Syl couldn't have climbed up where Sophie was; that bit was a real cave),
Janet was stuck with a PA reading Peter's lines while she acted her heart out to a camera.
But Sophie asked if Barnaby Edwards could crawl out of the Dalek where he's usually ensconced and read Sylvester's lines. So he perched on a rock out of her line of sight and performed the scene with her, and with that she could "see" Sylvester in front of her. As you may know, I'm fond of Barnaby, as apparently is Sophie; so that made me go 🥺
Sophie drove to Cardiff from Birmingham to Cardiff the day Sylvester was recording his parts at his request to read HER lines, although she wasn't recording them. She did that, went back to the trailer, then said, "Hang on... I don't wanna go!" So she went back and asked if she could watch.
The director soon asked her— saying she certainly could refuse! — if she would mind reading some of the other parts. "Rather!" She wound up "Sitting on that rock, being all the Doctors, and Jodie would come in and do her bit!" She said Janet and (I think?) Jemma were there for part of the day as well, so it turned into a sort of Doctor Who convention, especially because a lot of the crew themselves were fans.
Oh right. When she and Janet FIRST arrived... first of all a lot of the crew was too young to have seen them, so they were surprised at the warm welcome. But also, they were invited to enter the TARDIS before anyone else. Because you really do enter it through that door. And so Janet and Sophie went in first and got to play with the console. "You could actually push the buttons!" "When you moved a control, it didn't break off in your hand!" Janet: "I had TARDIS Envy."
A fan asked Janet how Tegan survived the fall, saying that was the one thing she didn't understand in that special. Janet: "The one thing!?"
Sophie's husband knew, but her sons didn't. Except one asked why she was going to Cardiff SO MUCH to film Blu-Ray extras. "You really want me to tell you?" "No, I don't want to know!" The second son almost caught on: "Mom, why is Ace's jacket not in its usual place in your closet?" "I've loaned it to someone." (Not a lie, it was with the costume designer in Cardiff.)
Sophie keeps some bits of Dalek she busted plus the jacket. Also that gorgeous painting from Ghost Light, although she had to find a new frame since the BBC kept that, It's in her guest room, and people assume it's an ancestor!
Janet grumbled at Sophie wanting to be an action hero (she was hoping to rice s motorcycle since she missed out doing it on TV before but was thrilled at the parachute jump). Janet's knees were not happy with running up and down stairs (my arthritis had noticed that). They both had doubles, but Sophie insisted on doing everything; she was having far too much fun.
Both of them were positively gushing about Sacha Dhawan's acting and his Master being "utterly unhinged." A bit of a challenge for them, since they're used to acting with rehearsals, whereas now one just meets the other actors, may do a quick bit of blocking for the camera, then go, and you simply have to respond via improv with no idea what the other actors are planning. He altered his performance slightly every take, giving the director different things to play with.
As I mentioned in another post, Janet was worried because she hadn't acted in 35 years (with Big Finish they have scripts in front of them) and wasn't sure she could memorize. She flubbed the first line, let out "an Australian expletive" and Jodie said "I'm going to like you."
The director kept pushing Janet to make her initial confrontation with the Doctor more angry/cranky. Every time she did it, he'd say "more" and she'd ramp it up a notch. She was a little worried about it, but in the theater Tegan's cranky lines got laughter and applause, which relieved her, because she always thought Tegan was rather funny.
The companion group gathering was a joy. Katy sailed in with carrot cake. Originally there was supposed to be a laptop on the empty chair with some othet companions. Sophie liked fans' suggestion it was for Sarah Jane.
William Russell is really struggling with dementia. His daughter brought him, and the "family" of companions kind of looked after him. He got stuck apologizing over and over after spilling his drink, but John Bishop sat down with him and repeated his lines with him to help him through. (It sounds to me like there may have been another that was cut.)
Jodie didn't have any scenes that day, she just couldn't stay away. (there's a bts group photo with her.)

TRAINTOBER DAY 11 - Roundhouse
Tumblr media
Scotsman feels lonely in Australia, so a couple of R Class's invite her to their roundhouse.
I’ve mentioned this before but Flying Scotsman is Genderfluid in my AU. So if you're confused as to why Scotsman is female here, this is why.
~~~
“That handsome English engine here yet? I heard he was going to be here tonight,” the Victorian R Class 761 teased the other R Class that sat beside her in their roundhouse. It was surprisingly empty today as the other engines were out doing night runs.
“Sadie he’s not that pretty!” The R Class 707, City of Melbourne, scoffed and her sister leered at her, deeply amused by her denial.
“And I suppose that was someone else gushing about him to that J Class hmm?” Sadie teased and 707 turned as red as her paint.
“Shut up Summer!” She shrieked but Sadie just laughed at her.
Her peels of laughter echoed around the empty roundhouse as the loud chuffing of another engine started to ricochet off of the walls.
Summer began to quiver nervously, but stopped when a familiar tender started to back into the sheds.
“Hey Jodie, how’s it going?” Summer greeted the smaller J Class engine as she gave a yawn and started to settle in for the night.
“Oh you know, so so,” Jodie tiredly responded.
“So have you met the English engine yet? Mr famous Flying Scotsman?” Sadie probed and Jodie looked at the bigger R Class.
“I have, but ‘he’ is currently a ‘she’ and she’s very nice!” Jodie corrected and Summer looked surprised.
“Oh, I was hoping to-” She began but her sister quickly interjected.
“Flirt with her?” She teased and Jodie giggled as Summer threw her a glare.
“I was hoping to invite her back to the roundhouse,” Summer clarified. “But I figured she might feel a bit weird surrounded by females. I heard they're mostly male over there."
“Yeah nah, I don’t think that bothers her all that much,” Jodie pointed out. “From what I gathered she’s a proper ‘lady-like’ engine. You know, all hoity-toity and class. I offered her a berth here but she didn’t take me up on the offer because she thought it might be rude.”
“Oh, those fucking uptight snobbish engines!” Sadie huffed annoyed.
“I don’t think she was trying to be a snob,” Jodie pointed out. “I think she’s just being polite. She’s in a foreign country after all.”
Sadie and Summer looked at each other before starting to build up some steam. Jodie looked confused.
“Where are you going?” The J Class called as the two of them began to roll out of the roundhouse.
“Picking up a rude cunt!” Sadie shouted back to which Jodie just sighed in response.
R Class’s could be such a hassle sometimes.
~~~
They found the foreign green Pacific sitting in a lonely shed near one of the working freight yards, the smell of diesel fuel and the sharp crackle of electricity stun in the air. She was sitting there with her eyes closed a peaceful look up her face.
“Oi you!” A loud voice jolted her out of her sleep and she gasped, looking around wildly before she noticed a large red and black engine hauling tender towards her at speed. Behind her, a similar-looking engine was chasing the first.
“Sadie, please! This isn’t going to help!” The one lagging behind called to her but it was no use as Scotsman found herself, practically nose to nose with a large engine with German smoke deflectors.
“You think you’re better than us Ms. perfectly famous huh?” The engine in her face, Sadie, demanded angrily.
“Most certainly not!” Flying Scotsman put on her best smile to try and placate the engine before her. “I simply do not wish to intrude on your business.”
“Intrude?” The R Class not in her face questioned. “You’re not intruding! We’d love to share a roundhouse with you Flying Scotsman! It would be an honour! If anything you're being a right prick by refusing our hospitality!"
“Oh, right well, of course! I meant no offence by turning down that lovely J Class’s invitation!” Scotsman admitted flustered. “I will happily accept her invitation if you both insist!”
“It's not just that," the other R Class 707 put in. "You look lonely out here by yourself. It reflects badly on us if you're not accommodated."
Scotsman looked at her buffers for a second before looking back up at the two R Class's before her.
"I am a long way from home," she admitted. "And, I miss my friends, my family. I needed a small moment to myself, away from everything."
"Well if you need space-" 707 started to say but was quickly talked over by 761.
"Then you can make friends here!" 761 exclaimed. "I'm Sadie and this is my sister, Summer."
"Sadie and Summer, what marvellous names!" Scotsman praised. "I'm the Flying Scotsman but everyone here seems to call me Scottie."
"Scottie!" Summer cheered. "Well even if you need space, don't be afraid to come back to our roundhouse. These diesels will keep up all night if you stay here!"
Scotsman smiled at the two R Class's gratefully.
"I do have quite a run tomorrow, I'd like some sleep," she conceded and the R Class's cheered.
"So you'll come back with us?"
"Of course! Of course!" Scotsman beamed, her grin wide. "Please, lead the way!"
"Hooray, it's a girls night!" Sadie squealed delighted before moving so that Scotsman could be coupled to her.
~~~
“Sooo do you have a girlfriend, boyfriend, someone to share a berth with?” Sadie bluntly asked as Flying Scotsman settled herself between the 2 R Class’s.
“Sadie!” Summer was flabbergasted at her sister but their visitor just laughed in good humour.
“No, no, it’s quite alright,” she cheerfully assured Summer. "No, I'm not seeing anyone."
"Oh well then-" Summer squeaked but she was abruptly cut off by Scotsman.
"I'm not looking for anyone either," she clarified and Summer's face fell.
"Oh."
"It's okay Ms Summer, I'm sure a beautiful engine such as yourself will find someone out there!" Scotsman assured Summer and the R Class blushed a deep red.
"Our girl Summer here likes them famous," Jodie revealed. "She has a super big crush on 3801 too."
"No, I don't! Shut up, Jo!" Summer hissed at the J Class who just laughed at her.
Summer rolled her eyes and turned her attention back to Scotsman who watched them with a goofy grin on her face.
"What about you Scottie? Got any crushes back home?" Summer asked her and now it was Scotsman's turn to become bright red.
"Well I uh…" she mumbled to herself and Jodie stopped laughing and turned her full attention to the English engine.
"Oh go on, who is it?" Jodie urged. "Your secrets will never leave this roundhouse."
"Ah well it's quite embarrassing really, you see they're not from the same railway as I," Scotsman spluttered incredibly nervous and flustered.
"Not from the same railway? Who cares?" Sadie flippantly cried.
"Ah well, it's a bit taboo over in the UK to have a relationship with an engine of a different railway or the same gender or… a lot of things really," Scotsman exclaimed looking downtrodden.
"That's stupid," Jodie scoffed and Scotsman sighed. "But tell us who it is, maybe it'll take it off your mind."
Scotsman looked unsure for a long time but then smiled.
She was halfway across the world and it was unlikely her secrets would find their way back to the UK.
The City of Truro.
"It's Pendennis Castle!" She exclaimed and instantly cursed herself.
"Oh, the other UK engine here in Australia! How lucky!" Summer gasped but Sadie snorted in response.
"Not lucky, more like planned," she mused. "We ask for Mallard, get Scotsman and somehow her honey boo is also here in Australia? Hmmm? Really now?"
"Ha ha you got me," Scotsman laughed awkwardly. "What a cheeky little scamp am I!
"I think it's romantic! Leave Scottie alone!" Summer hissed at her sister.
As the conversation wore on she regretted more and more for accepting the engine's invitation to their roundhouse.
Oh, why had she lied? Why couldn't she have just said Truro?
The Australian Tour was about to get a lot more interesting for her.
~~~
Scotsman accepts all pronouns being genderfluid. It's my take on why a lot of rail fans call the engine her/she but also he/him and they/them.
They're usually seen as male in Young Iron but can and will change if they feel like it but will always appreciate it if you need to ask.
Video footage of R Class’s 761 and 707 escorting Flying Scotsman out of the city of Melbourne to head west on their tour.

Paintbrushes & Romance - Part 19
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Look what you did," Dean hissed.
Benny smirks," not what I did Dean, its what you said." Dean glares at him, like he is thinking about killing him.
"Like I am going to take advice from you, what you've known her a few months! I've known her for years."
Tumblr media
"No Dean, I've known her for a year and a half to be precise, I was there when she Overdosed, when she went through withdrawal, when she barely spoke, or ate, I was there!, not you," his voice getting angrier with every word.
Tumblr media
Shock on Dean's face," what do you mean she overdosed? She never told me that, she just said she had a problem with pain meds."
"I'm not surprised", he said low, "when she was going through the withdrawal she, would call your name over and over, then when she got better, she'd sketch and paint, an image of you over and over. She truly adored you, so to answer your previous question, yes I knew who the hell you were, when you showed up at the diner with Jodie, to do the drug bust."
Dean's nostrils flare," and why didn't you say anything, or better yet, why did you take the bullet that was meant for me.?"
"Don't you get it Dean?, I took the damn bullet for you, so that she wont loose you, it will shatter her very being. That beautiful woman, loves you, she chose you, she didn't choose me, I wish she did, but she didn't. I knew from the start, her heart belonged to you, I just had the pleasure of caring about her for a while, and yes, I did love her, hell! I still love her, but I know she'll always choose you, why I don't know because you are a selfish jerk, you know that."
Dean flinches at his words, not because he was angry, but merely because, he realized Benny was right. He didn't deserve her, and he'll be damned if he ever forgot that, and to be honest he didn't get angry at what they had, hell he's done worse, but knowing Benny is so different from who he is, Benny isn't so angry at world, like he can be sometimes, and in his heart he knows that Benny is a good man, hell just by standing here, taking the punch and not throwing one back he's proven he is the better man.
Benny's deep voice brings him out of the trans he was just in.'' Look man, if you need to punch me again, I'll stand here, I will take it, and I won't fight back, but you have to promise me one thing!''
Dean's face puzzled when he asked,'' what is that?''
Tumblr media
''Promise me, you'll take care of her, protect her, but never control her, because if I ever find out you took your anger out on her, there will be no place for you to run or hide, I will find you, and I promise I will kill you'', his eyes grey, and his voice deep and low.
Dean, smirks a little,'' first of all, I will never hurt her and secondly I should beat the crap out of you for threating me right now, but I won't, because I can see you care about her deeply, even though it bothers me, that she has loved anyone else other than me, I'm glad she has you, and I know that, if anything ever happens to me, you will be there to help her through it.''
Not expecting the sudden change of heart, he only utters, ''deal.''
___________________
She drove back into town, wanting to get away from the fighting, arguing and what the hell ever was about to happen. It was probably so idiotic of her to leave the two men, back home, but they need to sort this shit out, and she's not going to be in the middle of all of this. ''I'm too freaking exhausted for this'', she whispers.
Tumblr media
Finding a parking spot, she shuts down the chevy's engine, texting Eileen if she is also at the Doctor's office. She's been not feeling herself for a few weeks, and decided to visit Dr Stone on Monday, and he called this morning, saying she should pay him a visit, she told her best friend and well she insisted to be here, and frankly she was happy she offered, Eileen waved her down from a few parking's over, fast walking towards her, Eileen looked at her, concern on her face, ''what's wrong honey she signed''.
Telling her everything that just went down, Eileen insisted she will let Sam take a look if the two men is still alive.'' Dammit Eileen, how is that Dean doesn't know that I would choose him a million times over. Yes stuff did happen between me and Benny, I still deeply care about him, But I love Dean, why I don't even know, if he acts like this he makes me so furious''.
Eileen gives her assuring smile,'' we'll figure it out, okay, but first let's go in, and see what is so important that he had to tell you in person,'' holding your shaking hand.
Biting your bottom lip, you just nod and walks in, thinking that everything was going so well, you were happy and know? what disaster is about to threaten your lives now.
''Hello, please take a seat, I've called you in here today, so that we can discuss your test results'', saying with a small smile.
''Give it to me doctor Stone''. you heard him saying ''after all the tests they've done, one test came back positive'', but by then your heart sank, thinking the worst. Not really catching what he said. Looking over at Eileen, signing to you,'' its going to be okay'', you only heard Doctor Stone, saying ''my assistant will book a follow up appointment''.
Trembling, Eileen helps you up, helping you out of the Doctor's office, sitting you down in the closest chair she can find, cupping your face, so she can get your attention,'' its going to be okay''. Helping you breathe, letting you know what the doctor, really said, you look at her wide eyed, signing to her, ''if she is sure'', Eileen just nods.
Getting up on your feet, walking in by doctor Stone confirming what Eileen just told you, you walk out, feeling a bit better. Hugging your best friend, thanking her for the support. Eileen asked you if you wanted to grab a drink, sit down and chat, but you just said ''rain check''.
After this emotional day you had, you are bone tired, the only thing you want to do, is curl up in bed and sleep. Even if it means if you had to chase Dean and Benny out of the house. Pulling into the driveway, you spot Sam's pick-up truck.
Filling your lungs with some extra air you breathed in, chewing on your bottom lip, not sure what to expect, you open the door. The sight of the three men sitting laughing, each with a beer in hand, makes you burst out in tears.
Dean's the first one to see you standing there,'' hello sweetheart'', he walks closer, slightly adjusting you so that the two of you stand on the porch, placing his hand on your cheek, thumbing away your tears, is gruff voice low,'' I've been a jerk, I am so sorry for saying your mine, like your an object, your not, thank you for choosing me, I've come to realize that it was my own insecurities that came to surface, when lashing out towards Benny. I'm not really angry at you''.
Tears still spilling over the edges of her beautiful eyes, her voice brittle,'' really?''
The soft kiss Dean places on her lips, reassures her.
Looking up into his much calmer emerald eyes, ''Dean there's something you need to know'', her voice shaky.
Dean looks concerned, ''out with it sweetheart'', holding her hands in his.
''The last few days, I haven't been feeling myself, so I made an appointment on Monday to see Doctor Stone, and he called me back today, and that's where I was. I got the results of the tests his done''.
A smile tugging at her lips, her voice sweet like honey, ''Dean Winchester, how do you feel about changing your name too Daddy?''
Tumblr media
''What? Do you mean,'' his voice heavy.
''Yes babe, we are going to be parents'', her smile spreading across her face.
Tumblr media
''I'm going to be a father?'' his eyes showing the emotion. He picks her up, swirling her around, then placing her down gently. Her laughter fills his ears,'' I'm going to be a dad, sweetheart!'' he exclaimed. This is the best news ever. He kisses her, holding her tightly to his chest, he has always dreamed of this day, settling down with the woman he loves and wants to grow old with, kids running around playing, working on there last nerve. How is it that this amazing, angel has giving him, more than he could ever deserve.?

How I Think The Supernatural Men Would React To Finding Out You’re Pregnant.
Tumblr media
Dean:
Convinced he heard you wrong
You have to show him the five positive pregnancy tests you took for him to believe you
Immediately starts freaking out
“W-what are we gonna do?! We can’t raise a baby! Not being a hunter we can’t!”
Is adamant on retiring from hunting to keep you and the baby safe.
Wants to start baby proofing the bunker asap.
“Dean, we have eight months and then some before we have to worry about the baby bumping into corners and trying to stick a fork in an electrical outlet.”
He’s so excited to be a dad, although he’s terrified that he’ll turn out like John.
Calls Jodie and Bobby (He’s alive because I said so) and asks them for advice.
Insists on making the baby listen to Led Zeppelin and AC/DC.
Surprisingly, he can’t wait to start decorating the baby’s room. (He even goes to Ikea to pick out furniture)
Tumblr media
Sam:
Starts laughing because funny enough, you found out you were pregnant on April 1st.
“Very funny, Y/N.”
“I’m serious, Sammy.”
He went to the store and bought you a pregnancy test just to he sure you weren’t messing with him.
“You’re really pregnant?!”
“Told you, dumbass.”
He laughs, but this time it’s from excitement.
He picks you up and spins you around, which wasn’t a good idea due to morning sickness
“I’m sorry, sweetheart.” He apologizes as he holds your hair back while you throw up.
“I hate you.”
Makes a list of baby names. He wants to name the baby after either Jodie or Bobby (His real parents) whether that be their first or middle name.
Tumblr media
Human!Cas:
Honestly doesn’t know how to react.
He’s nervous about being a father.
He has literally no idea how to take care of a baby.
So he buys a ton of child care books. And I mean a ton.
Once he stops freaking out, he feels excitement overwhelm him.
He literally watches you like a hawk and refuses to let you do any kind of work.
He’s so scared that someone will come after you that he insists on hiding in the bunker for the rest of eternity.
“Cas, I am not staying in the bunker for the rest of my life.”
“It’s just a thought.”
He, strangely enough, wants to go clothes shopping for the baby. He sees all the tiny baby clothes and gets really excited.
“It’s so small.” He smiles.
He ends up being an amazing father.
Tumblr media
100% thinks you’re lying.
“You’re not pregnant, there’s no way.”
“Well, you see, when an Archangel and a human love each other very much-”
He doesn’t know how to react when he truly finds out you’re pregnant.
He starts to freak out.
"Everyone knows what happens to humans that carry Nephlim babies!"
"Does everyone know that?"
Gabriel will stop at nothing to make sure that you're not harmed when you deliver the baby.

Well, it’s my birthday!
I’m officially slap bang in my mid twenties now 😅 but more to the point, that means it’s also my Runner Five’s birthday!
So I thought it would be cute to show you guys what I imagine what my Five received from Sam when she woke up on her birthday that took place during season 6 and some headcanons:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Five woke up alone to this on her birthday ^
The map is shit, I mean there’s no mystery around where she was going or where she needed to stop but she wasn’t going to say anything. She liked how there was no mystery about it and she was 100% going to humour Sam by doing it properly.
The picture did have a comment on the back of ‘the pink thing is a worm’. But Five teared up when she saw the picture.
One of the stops was Runner 8’s statue which is where Five goes to think. She said good morning to the statue on her way round.
Anyway when she got to the comms shack Sam was there with a huge smile and a ginormous pastry spread picnic for breakfast. Five had no idea how he pulled that off since a) pastry isn’t readily available and b) the comms shack is kind of vital (she later learned they’d set up a back up Comms shack from a old van they used on the run from Sigrid)
Then their friends joined (bringing chocolate cake, this is before the chocolate factory got blown up in season 6) and they opened the presents:
Janine got her a Bletchley Park quiz book.
Jodie knitted her a Gryffindor beanie hat
Maxine and Paula got her a few survival bits and bobs, like a first aid kit and the most recent player handbook for DND.
Baby Sara insisted on giving her a teddy with a orange hoodie on it ‘because it reminds her of daddy’ so if Sam was away from Five all she needed to do was hug the bear. Five nearly genuinely cried at that gift. (Baby Sara is probably in her toddler years in season 6 but I imagine its a ‘Gavin and Stacey’ situation where Baby Sara is now a nickname)
Jamie got her a pair of brand new trainers, he’s the kind of England but he he knows what Five really needed.
Amelia unfortunately got her some cosmetics claiming she looked tired all the time which really rubs Five and Sam up the wrong way because of course she looks tired, she’s a runner!
Brett Valmont even sent her a gift which confuses her, he gifted her the eleventh Doctor’s sonic screwdriver that was used in the show. The actual prop (or one of them).
Peter got her the full boxset of Red Dwarf with special features, and I mean all of Red Dwarf up until the apocalypse started.
Veronica made her a real life working K9 model (lasers not included).
Then Five found out how Valmont knew it was her birthday, Sam had been given by him the actual ring that Catherine Tate wore in the Doctor Who episode The Runaway Bride, the bio damper ring. Sam asked whether he could give it to her as a proper engagement ring for her birthday and he’d agreed.
That is Sam’s present…well part of it, he had commissioned Maxine to work on a special module for Demons and Darkness for Five’s birthday!
So they spend the rest of the day eating cake, and playing DND (although Paula had to take Sara out for a while because restless toddler not good and Amelia excuses herself claiming she’s too good for dnd)
Five has a really good, and more importantly stress free day (well as stress free as playing dnd can get)
She couldn’t have asked for better friends to celebrate with.

Trevor with reader that struggles with depression and bad anxiety <3? I don’t mind if you have to take a long time to do, it’s fine!(as always, take sugar 🫶🏾)
HEADCANONS: Trevor with a S/O that suffers from depression and anxiety
-Trevor also suffers from depression (well, you can say he’s extreme with his depressive phases) so he does understand the struggles through an everyday basis.
-Trevor being Trevor, he’d offer you drugs whenever your anxiety is quite bad. However, it’s never to take advantage, he generally wants you to relax and in his mind, Drugs would do the trick. He doesn’t take offence when you decline the offer though.
-He will take you on drives randomly so you aren’t decomposing in your house. Most of the time he’ll just drive you around Sandy Shores until he finds something to do, cause mayhem, drive from the cops, but hey! Whatever gets your mind off your worries, am I right?
-Trevor will encourage you to cry it all out instead of bottling your feelings. He’ll sit down and just wait until you breakdown in tears. In a way, he is quite knowledgeable and reasonable when it comes to mental health (which is DAMN surprising).
-He demands an everyday checkup which includes talking about your day to him. Trevor secretly loves the gossip of your everyday life. When you end up ranting about how tough your day was, he’ll purposely point something out and joke about it to try and defuse the tension.
-An example: “Jody came back into work and began complaining about her husba-“ “Saggy tit Jody! I wonder if she still stinks of fish. She can never find sandals that fit her sausage toes.”
-Whenever your anxiety gets bad, Trevor insists a movie night. He knows that his trailer does bring you great anxiety with all the rotten food, dirty sheets, horrid smells… So he ends up crashing at yours, and he brings (stolen) pizza! Movie nights consists of comedy… Then he’ll charm his way into your bedroom and, yeah, you could say he cheered you up ;)

Kent x Cis Female Reader
Hey everyone! I'm back with a new smutty fic inspired by the amazing @sdvnpc who has a bunch of amazing works that you should go read.
18+ ONLY
Summary: Kent pays the local farmer a visit, intending just to introduce himself to the woman his son has feelings for. But when he realizes he and his son have similar tastes, Kent decides to think with his other head. And it's just his luck that the farmer is more than willing to have some fun.
Warnings/content: cheating, affair, safe sex, age gap, cis female reader, sassy reader
Word count: 2,358 words
Enjoy!
"Bye Sammy!" You giggle, waggling your fingers at the flustered blonde standing in front of you. Sam had insisted on helping you with the farm work that day, claiming that you seemed stressed and probably needed a hand.
You knew better.
This boy had it bad for you, and it was confirmed when you suggested he shower at your place when the farm work was finished. His face had bypassed pink and went straight to fire engine red when you told him that hot and sweaty was a great look on him, but he should probably get cleaned up.
"Haley got me some fancy soaps and hair products," you said. "You can use anything in there. You'll smell so good after."
Sam had made a slight choking sound, and you gave him a wicked grin as he looked away.
"I um…a shower sounds good," he said. "But my dad is coming home tonight and I gotta help my mom fix dinner."
You blinked, flirtatious banter suddenly shoved to the side. "Wait really?" you said, shocked. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
"I've been so nervous about it," Sam said honestly. "Talking about it just makes my anxiety worse. I'm worried that things will be different. Bad different."
"Hey," you said softly. "It's going to be fine. No matter what happens, it's going to be fine. You have Sebastian, Abigail, and me all looking out for you, okay?"
Sam smiled shyly and nodded. In a moment of boldness, you swooped down and kissed his cheek before bidding him farewell. Hopefully things would go well. And hopefully Sam would be up for taking a shower at your place later.
The next morning, you found yourself waking up to not only your alarm, but to someone knocking on your door. Your alarm was ringing so it was 6 am. Who the hell was wanting to visit you this early?
You climbed out of bed and padded over to the door, still in your pajamas. Typically you didn't let anyone see you in just a tank top and ass shorts, but whoever was there would just have to deal with it.
There was another knock. "I'm coming!" You shouted, annoyed. You flung open the door, ready to interrogate whoever had interrupted your morning routine, but stopped short. There was a man standing on your doorstep. A man you had never seen before in your life.
He looked kind of familiar, but you couldn't place why. The stranger had an intense gaze, steely gray eyes looking you over. Really looking you over.
Wait, was he checking you out?
He looked old enough to be your dad, but was still kind of hot. Scratch that, he was super hot. Chisled jaw, broad shoulders and a barrel chest. He could beat the shit out of you and you'd say thank you.
The silence that hung in the air was awkward, and this weirdo hadn't introduced himself or even attempted to say why he had knocked on your door at the crack of dawn.
"...Can I help you?" You asked cautiously.
"Holy hell, no wonder Sam wants a piece of you," the man said in a gravelly voice. "You're the hottest woman I've ever seen!"
"I…um…excuse me, what?" You stuttered out, mind going blank. If you hadn't just woken up, you definitely would've had some choice words to toss his way before slamming the door in his face.
"Oh god," he said, face paling. "I am so goddamn sorry. I uh, my name is Kent. I'm Jodi's husband? Sam and Vince's dad. My wife had mentioned you last night. Said something about Sam being into you, and I wanted to meet you."
"At six in the morning?" You said incredulously.
"Oh uh. Sorry," Kent said, rubbing the back of his neck. It was a gesture that reminded you forcibly of Sam.
"It's fine," you said with a sigh. "I usually get up around this time anyway." You fixed him with another look, and noticed that his eyes were wandering.
"I didn't realize a plain black tank top could be so interesting," you said, raising your eyebrows. Kent's face turned a dusty pink, and he looked away.
"Sorry," he said again. "You're just…wow."
"You're not too bad yourself," you said, crossing your arms and leaning against the doorway. Instant regret washed over you. You had just flirted with a married man, the father of the guy you're interested in. You needed to go back into your farm house and put yourself in time out.
Kent smirked at you, and took a step closer. "Oh yeah?" he said in a dark voice, each word dripping with honey.
You should tell him to go. You should put an end to this. You should–
"Wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it," you said, allowing him further into your space.
"I haven't had my coffee today," he murmured. "Would you mind making me a cup?"
You wanted to make fun of his line, but unfortunately said line was working on you. You opted for rolling your eyes and walking back in, swaying your hips a little more than necessary.
"This isn't a drive through coffee shop," you said, noticing he hadn't come in. "I'm not bringing your cup over. If you want coffee, you better come in."
Kent didn't need to be told twice. He kicked off his boots and slammed the door shut. It wasn't long before you were both in the kitchen, Kent watching you measure out the coffee grounds.
"I've got an hour," Kent said bluntly. "I'll be missed if I'm gone longer than that."
You paused, and set the container of water you were about to pour into the machine to the side. You turned to face him, leaning back against the stove.
"Well I guess coffee will have to wait," you said with a small smile. "We wouldn't want you to get in trouble." You walked over to him, and boldly put your hands on his chest. He found your hips easily, large hands settling nicely on them.
"You fuck married men often?" he asked. "You don't seem bothered by this."
"You cheat on your wife often?" you fired back. "Because you don't seem bothered by this either."
Kent's eyes went wide, and your lips curled into a devilish smile. "You mind your business, I'll mind mine." He nodded dumbly, and allowed himself to be led to your bedroom.
You began to strip, slowly raising the hem of your shirt, taking your time before it was tossed to the floor. Kent gazed at you hungrily as each piece fell away, and soon you were naked before him. Gracefully falling onto your bed, you turned to face him. You let your legs fall open, and gently spread your pussy with your fingers. His eyes zeroed in on your actions, and his tongue darted out to wet his lips.
Slowly, you began to rub your clit, moaning softly as you did so. Kent was frozen to the spot, and you chuckled lightly.
"You just gonna watch me put on a show? You can't fuck me while you're over there with all your clothes on."
Kent sprung into action, practically tearing his clothes off as he made his way over. You helped yourself to a view of the goods, and bit your lower lip as you drank him in.
His cock was fairly average in length, but holy fuck was it thick. You could feel your pussy getting wetter as you imagined how it would probably sting slightly as his girth stretched you open.
Boot camp had clearly done its job, giving him defined abs and pecs that you just wanted to squeeze. If you had more time you would've shoved him onto his back and worshipped his gorgeous form. But time was of the essence, and you didn't have time to pepper his body with kisses or drag your tongue over his abs like you so desperately wanted to.
You made a move to get on the bed properly, back against the headboard instead of sitting near the edge of your bed. But Kent was faster. Quicker than you thought humanly possible, he was down on his knees, strong arms hooked around your thighs and pulling you closer.
With Sam being his son, you expected Kent to be more of a talker. Sam had never shut up a day in his life, but it seemed his dad was more reserved. Even more so than Sebastian, which was a shock. He didn't say a single word before latching onto your thighs, biting and sucking dark marks into your flesh. He kissed the marks he left, ignoring your pleas for him to lick you, touch you, do something to bring you close. He seemed perfectly content teasing you.
And damn that was doing it for you.
You sighed out in a mixture of pleasure and relief when his tongue finally licked a stripe from your entrance to your clit. He lapped at your clit, sliding a finger inside of you. Kent began to add fingers as you squirmed. Vaguely, you realized he was stretching you so his cock would fit inside. Looking down, you let out a pornographic moan. His face was absolutely coated in your slick. Good head was always messy, and you were glad he wasn't afraid to shy away.
You were nearing your edge, so close so close so–
And then it stopped. You made a sound of protest, watching Kent get on the bed. He manhandled you into position before rubbing his tip at your entrance.
"Wait!" You said in a strangled voice, getting a look of confusion in response.
"Condom," you said simply, fumbling with your bedside drawer to pull one out.
"I'm clean," Kent said, sounding defensive. "Are you not?"
"I am," you said, throwing a bottle of lube and a condom his way. "But my body can still make babies, and I'm assuming you aren't sterile."
Kent grunted in reply, as though the thought hadn't occurred to him. In all honesty, it probably hadn't. He rolled on the condom as fast as he could, and lubed up. Your slick would probably be more than enough, but you were glad to see he was prioritizing your comfort.
Kent lined up once more, and slowly began to press in. And shit, you had been right on the money with your assumption that he would stretch you wide. At this rate he was going to split you in half! Not that you were complaining.
Kent finally bottomed out, and gave you a moment to adjust. His eyes were closed, breathing heavy. He was clearly restraining himself from pounding into you right away. And that was certainly thoughtful of him, but you needed him to cut that shit out now.
"Move," you whined. "Come on, give it to me!"
Kent nodded, and started thrusting, setting a steady pace. But it wasn't enough.
"Stop holding back!" You said, frustrated. "You can do better than that! Come on!"
Something snapped in Kent's brain, and suddenly he was ruthlessly slamming into you, hauling your hips up with a grip so tight you knew it would leave bruises.
"Fuck! Yes! Just like that!" You wailed. He was silent as ever, but let out small groans, letting you know he was enjoying himself.
"Amazing," he finally panted out. "You feel so good around me…like you were made just for my cock."
You nodded frantically. "Made…made for your cock," you moaned out, not really caring what you were saying. You were close again, and you needed to cum.
"K-Kent, I'm…I'm…"
"Cum for me," Kent said, hips snapping against you, the sound of skin on skin filling the air. "Come on girl, you can do it, cum for me!"
Your back arched as you reached your peak, cumming around his thick cock. It was a good thing you didn't have neighbors because they would've definitely heard the scream ripped from your throat.
That sent Kent over the edge, slamming into you roughly one last time as he spilled into the condom. His eyes were closed, and sweat coated his body. Kent pulled out, tied off the condom and tossed it out before pulling his clothes on.
"Enjoy yourself?" he finally asked as you were pulling your shorts back on.
"8 out of 10," you said simply, and giggled at the annoyed look on his face.
"You screamed," he grumbled. "I think I was more than an 8."
"Oh you would've been a perfect 10," you said, leading him to the front door. "But you lost points for not letting me finish before sticking it in. A true gentleman makes sure his lady is 100% taken care of before chasing his own pleasure."
"Well maybe I'm not a gentleman," Kent said, putting his boots back on.
"Hmmm…true. But I bet Sam is," you said, pleased with how Kent's entire body froze up at these words. "I bet he would make sure that I came before putting his dick in me. He's so sweet and attentive to me…he'd probably give me more than one orgasm too. Maybe what just happened should be a one and done type of thing. I'll get with Sam and let him treat me right. Since he's a perfect gentleman."
Kent turned the doorknob, but stopped before exiting. "Or maybe I can come back another day and I can show you just how much of a gentleman I can be."
"I'll hold you to that," you said as he made his way down the steps. "See you later."
He nodded, a small smile on his face as he walked down the path leading to town. You went back into your house to get cleaned up and ready for the day. You were going to have to go into town today. Pierre finally had a new backpack in stock, and you desperately needed a new one. Jodi would be in the town square talking to Caroline, and you knew you'd have to smile and wave as though you hadn't been fucked into next week by her husband.
But honestly? You didn't care.

The Haunting of Blackbeard’s Bar and Grill and Fishing Accessory Shop and Roller-Skating Rink
IT HAS TAKEN ME SO LONG AND I AM SO SORRY BUT HERE IT IS. @emeraldcas here’s your birthday gift it is insane it doesn’t make sense it’s utterly ridiculous but i managed to incorporate all shows and the majority of the prompts i hope you like it!!
2.5k words, under the cut
When Jack hears that their newest haunting is at a roller rink, he’s elated. Dean should have seen it coming. They should’ve just not told Jack anything about it, cause now he’s insisting on making a whole outing out of it. If it were to go Dean’s way, they’d quickly take care of the haunting without spending more time than necessary at that stupid rink, but Jack has recruited Cas and Sam, and now Sam’s calling Eileen to invite her and Cas has already made sure that Jody and Donna are bringing the girls.
Dean is dreading it.
He’s dreading it a little bit less when he sees the name of the place. Blackbeard’s Bar and Grill and Fishing Accessory Shop and Roller-Skating Rink is quite a mouthful, but if Dean can get a burger after being forced to put on shoes with wheels on them he guesses the day is kind of saved.
“You do remember we’re here to gank a ghost, right?” Dean asks when he sees both Sam and Cas practically light up alongside Jack at the sight of the roller rink, which is pirate-themed for some reason. Dean would have preferred cowboys, but he guesses pirates are neat too. He’s eyeing the bar next to the rink, Paddy’s Pub, which seems much more inviting at the moment.
“Yeah, yeah sure.” Sam mumbles, but he’s distracted by Eileen’s entrance, her little car sidling up next to the Impala in the parking lot. Donna and Jody aren’t far behind, and Alex and Patience can’t get out of the backseat fast enough in excitement, while Claire trails behind rolling her eyes. Dean knows Claire well enough to see through her tough-guy exterior—she’s at least as excited about this whole ordeal as Jack is. Dean’s one potential ally in his distaste for roller skating has turned out to be a traitor.
“Okay, let’s go over the game plan!” Dean calls everyone together before they enter the building.
“What do we know about the case?” Jody asks, and Dean is grateful to have at least one person focused on the hunt they’re supposed to be on.
“From what we know, there are multiple apparitions, probably ghosts, showing up on the rink. Some are harmless, others get violent, there’s at least one witness account that states they’ve gotten into a screaming-match with a—” Sam checks his meticulous notes. “Self-important business man who called them a dick a bunch of times, then picked up his phone to curse at the person on the other end instead, before he disappeared into thin air.”
“I wouldn’t call that violent.” Claire narrows her eyes and tilts her head at the same time as both Cas and Jack do. Dean sometimes gets freaked out by their uncanny resemblance.
“Well, there’s also a witness talking about a guy showing up in the middle of the rink waving around with a whip, so there’s that.” Dean adds. “Let’s just go in and check it out.”
Once through the door, Dean is greeted by a slightly off rendition of My God by the Killers from a corner of the room that is supposed to house the DJ booth for the rink, but has instead been refunctioned into a karaoke booth. Why the hell is there a karaoke booth in a roller-skating rink that is also a bar and grill (the counter with the kitchen behind it is to their left) and a fishing accessory shop (a door to the left seems to lead to that one) and also looks like a ship deck? Dean feels like the rink alone is strange enough to warrant checking out for supernatural threats.
“Let’s go!” Jack runs right up to the counter, rows and rows of bright green roller-skates lining the shelves. The girls are not far behind, and Sam and Eileen are smirking, making their way to the counter as well.
“Wait for me!” A voice yells from behind Dean, and a small family busts through the doors, Garth and his wife and kids in tow, joining their group at the counter. Well great, Dean thinks.
“Don’t forget why we’re here!” Dean calls after them all, but he’s not sure they care much. Shaking his head, Dean makes his way around the rink, taking it all in. In the karaoke booth, a tall and kind of intimidating looking woman starts singing Mr. Brightside with an incredible voice. Dean almost trips over his own feet when he sees two people looking like Mulder and Scully on the rink. It gets even weirder when he sees… is that Bert and Ernie? Roller-skating hand in hand? And Kermit and his friends on the other side? Dean shakes his head. He must be mistaken, because by now, his friends have made their way onto the rink and they don’t seem to find anything amiss.
Dean keeps investigating the hall. There’s a birthday party hosted in one of the booths, the tables laden with chocolate and cake, balloons in the form of flowers floating around. Dean passes their booth just as the gifts are being exchanged.
“Bumbercatch, did you make this?” The recipient asks, looking at a scarf in awe.
“Yeah, man. I upgraded from knitting to crochet.”
Dean looks back to the rink, seeing everyone having the times of their lives. He sees Sam and Jody occasionally stop other roller-bladers to talk to them, while Donna and Eileen examine the rink itself. At least they’re helping with the case, which can’t be said about everyone else. Dean rolls his eyes, but then he sees Cas, and his jaw almost drops to the floor.
Cas is flying across the rink, cutting a beautiful figure, the trench coat fluttering behind him like wings. He makes pirouettes, his legs dancing around, while everyone cheers for him. Damn. Cas is good at this. Of course he’s good at this, the guy is good at anything.
Out of the corner of his eye, Dean sees Claire and Jack leave the rink and quickly walk towards the counter. It’s almost impossible to tear his gaze away from Cas, who is mesmerising in the way he floats across the rink with such ease, but Dean needs to keep it together if he wants to solve this case.
Sweeping the hall, there were no cold spots, no flickering lights, no suspicious activity. The EMF’s been quietly resting in Dean’s pocket, giving no sound and indication of ghostly activity. Dean is just deciding to start questioning the employees when Jack and Claire return from the counter, a shit-eating grin on both their faces.
“Hey Dean.” Claire says, mischief obvious in her voice. Next to her, Jack holds up the bright green roller-skates. “We brought you something.”
“Yeah we noticed you haven’t made your way onto the rink yet, so we got your size!” Jack thrusts the shoes in Dean’s direction, an earnest smile on his face.
“You did what?” Dean stands, lost, but Claire and Jack have already made their way back to the rink.
He’s standing there, dumbfounded, holding roller-skates, regretting all his life decisions. He should have given this case to a different group, he shouldn’t have come close to this damn roller rink at all.
“Dean?” Cas has stopped close to him, leaning against the fence around the rink. “Are you joining us?”
“Yeah, sure.” Dean says and instantly wants to kick himself, but seeing the smile spread on Cas’ face is kind of worth it.
“Wonderful.” Cas pushes himself off the fence, rolling to the next entrance and waiting for Dean to get the damned shoes on.
Dean steps onto the rink reluctantly, trying to keep himself stable, gripping the fence for dear life. But how is he supposed to do that when there are fucking tiny tires on his feet. This is a nightmare.
“Dean?” Cas asks, noticing his nervousness. “Have you ever gone roller-skating?”
Dean scowls.
“I take that as a no.” Cas nods, then he holds out a hand. “Let’s go then.”
For a second, Dean hesitates, then he takes a deep breath, lets go of the fence and grabs Cas’ hand instead, the angel’s fitting perfectly in his. They should hold hands more often, he thinks, but before he can examine that thought in more detail, Dean takes a step and almost falls over immediately. His face would have made acquaintance with the floor if it wasn’t for Cas catching him, his strong arms around Dean’s middle.
“Are you okay?” Cas asks.
“Just hold me.” Dean squeaks, clinging to Cas’ waist while trying not to fall again. “I mean, hold me up. Like, don’t let me fall!” He quickly corrects, heart racing.
“Of course, Dean.”
And then they roller-skate together. It takes Dean a while to make his legs stop shaking, for his movements to become less clumsy, but Cas never lets go of him, and after a while he starts enjoying himself. He starts understanding why everyone is ignoring the case in favour to do this instead. If he’d ever roller-skated before in his life, he would have been as elated as Jack to come here.
“This is fun!” Dean grins at Cas, and then it happens.
Something hits Dean’s head, hard, and the little balance he was holding onto is ripped from him, sending his ass to the floor, dragging Cas down with him.
A baseball rolls away from where he’s fallen to the floor. What in all hell is a fucking baseball doing on a roller-skating rink.
“I am so sorry!” A small woman rolls up to them frantically, wearing a pink baseball uniform with skirts instead of shorts and sporting a baseball glove. “Lupe did not mean to throw that far.”
The last part of her sentence is directed towards the other side of the rink, and Dean is positive that he’s hit his head badly, because he sees an entire baseball team worth of women in the same pink uniform tossing around a bunch of balls. How do they even all fit onto the rink? Has it gotten bigger?
“Carson, hurry up!”
“Coming, Greta!” The woman throws back, before scrambling to pick up the bass she’s lost while continuing to profusely apologise to Dean, who doesn’t say anything because this is beyond strange. They’ve seen their fair share of odd shit, but this rink takes the fucking cake.
“We should probably get up.” Cas says, and Dean can only nod, but before they can make as much as a move, they’re interrupted.
“Don’t move!”
“Out of the way!”
“We’re paramedics!”
Three people drop down next to Dean and Cas, a woman with a comforting smile, a man with an oddly places scar right in the middle of his forehead, and a handsome guy with dishevelled hair, while three others ward off anyone who’d want to get close. They’re not in uniform, so Dean assumes that they’re here on their day off, but that doesn’t stop them from asking a ton of questions and making sure neither Dean nor Cas actually injured themselves. Not that Cas can get injured at all, but that’s not the point.
“Okay, okay, I think that’s enough!” Dean insists when he realises that they’re debating how worth it is to call an ambulance because apparently Cas’ pupils don’t dilate the way they should, something that is no doubt due to the fact that Cas is an angel. “We’re fine.”
“Let us at least escort you off the rink.” One of the guys who warded off onlookers throws in, helping Dean up without even waiting for a reply, while the handsome paramedic guy does the same with Cas. Dean doesn’t protest, because he does feel a little light-headed now that he’s standing again. Damn random baseball team that decided to play at a rink for no good reason.
They roll off the rink, and as soon as Dean reaches a bench, he gets out of these damned roller-skates. Sure, it was fun while it lasted, but right now Dean just wants to figure out what the hell is going on here and then get the fuck out.
Two men dressed in pirate-adjacent clothes, one in fancy colourful coats and the other in way too much leather, stride up to them, and Dean doesn’t even have time to roll his eyes.
“Hello there!” Colourful fancy coat man yells out, waving exaggeratedly. “We’re the owners of this wonderful establishment, and we’ve seen what just happened on the rink.”
“Yeah mate, we agreed that you and your group get everything for free today, as recompense or some shit like that.” Leather guy shrugs.
“What the fuck?” Is all that Dean gets out, and fancy guy scowls.
“Did you not understand?”
“No I did understand. But are you not seeing this?” Dean gestures to the whole hall, because this is not a normal rink, no matter how normal everyone pretends it is. “That’s Bert and Ernie right there!”
“Yes indeed it is!” Fancy guy says, a pleased smile on his face.
“Where did they come from?” Cas asks, frowning.
“Oh people just keep showing up here, same as us I guess.” Leather guy says, scratching his long beard. The movement brings Dean’s attention to the guy’s arms, which are filled with tattoos, and for a second Dean is envious, before he redirects his thoughts to the matter at hand.
“So people just show up?” Dean asks, and when the pirates nod, he frowns. “So, what if, I don’t know, monsters start showing up. What if this is gonna be the start of the zombie apocalypse.”
“You know, I just watched this show where zombies were integrated into society, and the zombies themselves weren’t the actual problem.” The first responder who helped Dean off the rink interjects.
“Did you watch In the Flesh without me?” The other one asks, tone indignant.
“Well Eddie, you said you didn’t want to watch it anyway.”
“No, I said I didn’t want to watch The Last of Us.”
“Ah damn, sorry Eddie.”
“No problem man, we still have the last two seasons of Psych to get through together.”
Dean starts tuning their conversation out when they keep talking about what shows to watch together. Meanwhile, Leather guy shakes his head. “We always send back the dangerous ones, they just disappear again. Sometimes we also send them back when we don’t like them, like those Roy siblings, they were annoying as heck.”
“And they just leave?” Cas asks, fascination seeping into his voice.
“Yeah.”
Dean sighs, looking around the rink once again, taking in the colourful combination of characters, his family included. They don’t look all that dangerous, and Dean knows he’s probably stupid for making this decision, but his gut is telling him that he should leave this place alone.
“Okay, Cas, I don’t really wanna stay here, wanna check out that pub next door?”
“Of course, Dean.”
Thirty minutes later, Dean leaves Paddy’s Pub with Cas in tow, regretting all his life decisions.

Emily’s POV:
I was still quiet as Jody brought us something to drink.
The welcoming woman had insisted on giving us something other than water but Eva told her that it was totally fine, neither of us wanting to bother her with another kind of drink. But Jody had none of it so my best friend asked for some apple juice, fully knowing that I loved this drink even though she wasn’t a big fan of it. This put an end to this discussion. Jody kindly accepted this answer and left the room to go and get us our drinks, ignoring my best friend’s and I’s proposition to help her.
Anyway, I politely thanked the sheriff when she offered me the glass but stayed pretty silent after that, a bit uncomfortable to be in a stranger’s place like this. But, aware of my discomfort even though she wasn’t at complete ease either, Eva sat down next to me on the couch, her leg touching mine to create some comforting contact between us. I gave her a light smile and got one in return.
I still didn’t know what had happened to her earlier, but whatever it had been, it was gone. Her face was brighter, her eyes showed more enjoyment and her smile was real. I liked that look way more. But even if I was now relaxed to see her like this, the curiosity and desire to know what had happened was still there and I was still wondering what could have gone through her mind to make her feel the way she had felt. I was planning on asking her about it soon.
“You boys want something to drink.?” Jody’s voice put an end to my thoughts and made me come back on earth.
“Sure, some beers would be fine. Thanks Jody.” Dean immediately answered and Sam nodded by his side, offering her an appreciative smile.
When Jody left the room to go get their drinks, I could breathe a bit more easily, the slight uneasiness of being there still making me tense. Sam turned his head towards us and my eyes unintentionally met his before quickly looking away. I didn’t know what it was about that day, but I could hold his gaze even less time than usual. The intensity of his gaze made me feel strange, almost uncomfortable. I wasn’t sure if he knew how his gaze made me feel or if it was even intentional but still, it was there and making me want to hide and disappear. I just wanted him to stop looking at me like this.
Ugh! I needed to stop this. I needed to stop feeling this way when my friend was looking at me. Because that was what Sam was: my friend. And the night before had been nothing but a… a friendly mistake.
“Hum… Aren’t you gonna drive again after this?” Eva asked hesitantly, making me raise my head again and offering me a nice distraction from my thoughts.
The tall girl next to me was looking at Dean who raised his eyebrows at the remark, letting a smirk spread his lips. He chuckled.
“Don’t worry Sweetheart, one beer won’t make me have a car crash.” He declared, full confidence in his voice.
I felt my friend shifting her leg next to me, probably flustered by the nickname. I knew what this word did to her. I slightly smiled at her discreet reaction probably going unnoticed by the brothers and looked at her, waiting for her response but Sam was the one replying to him instead.
“No, but your bad driving could.” He retorted with a sassy grin and I couldn’t help but let a quiet laugh out, approving his answer.
Sam looked at me when the light chuckle escaped my mouth and his lips stretched a bit to lightly show the dimples in his cheeks. Something new shone in his eyes and a part of me interpreted it as pride. But it was probably just happiness that, for once, someone appreciated his humor. He probably wasn’t often supported in his jokes, and certainly not by Dean considering the dark glare the older man was suddenly giving us.
Then, fully ignoring Sam’s eyes on me, I focused on Dean and offered him my best mocking grin. After what he had done to me while driving away from the gas station, I had every right to openly make fun of him. And yet, he should have counted himself lucky that I was only laughing at his brother’s joke, it wasn’t much considering how I could actually piss him off. Actually, after getting on my nerves that morning by basically telling me to get lost in the kitchen when I had only asked him if he was alright; then irritatingly interrupting Eva when she was about to explain me what was bothering her and, finally, making me fall in his stupid car, he deserved to be made fun of. So I wasn’t going to be shy about it.
“Yeah. I still don’t understand how you didn’t crash your oh so precious car yet. Did you get your driver license in a Kinder Surprise or is this thing fake too?” I asked, a proud smile on my face, holding Dean’s gaze that was clearly not amused.
But it didn’t matter if he was finding this amusing or not because I did. And according to the chuckling man next to him, so did Sam.
“You think you’re funny?” Dean asked with a mocking expression, clearly in need of a good comeback. But before I could say anything, Sam opened his mouth again.
“Oh, she is.” The taller man declared and I felt my ego grow bigger, a new pride invading me at the idea of Sam enjoying my humor.
I had never really paid attention to Sam’s reactions at my bickering with his brother before but, apparently, he was enjoying it. When I looked away from Dean to look at him again, his eyebrows were slightly raised, showing his brother how satisfied he was with my answer. And when Sam looked back at me, I could see in his eyes that he meant it. A warm feeling spread inside my chest at the idea of Sam sharing my humor. I hated this feeling as much as I liked it. Or maybe I hated that I liked it. I didn’t know anymore, I didn’t know what to think since the events of the night before. Events that I was desperately trying not to think about.
So why was I bringing it back again?
“Yeah, no, I know. I guess all I’m trying to say is… to be careful?” Eva tried to explain herself, her original comments with the best intention, and thankfully interrupted my thoughts. Preventing Dean from replying anything to my provocation in the process. And when I saw in his eyes the little bit of frustration from it, I couldn’t be happier.
My best friend had helped me win this argument in spite of herself and I loved her even more for that.
“I’m not gonna be arrested for just one beer. And even if I was, I’m in the Sheriff’s good grace.” He proudly replied, closing his eyes and raising his chin in a satisfied gesture.
I rolled my eyes at his face.
“Well, maybe you shouldn’t take it for granted, Dean.” Jody declared when she entered the living room again, holding two beer bottles in her hands. “Eva’s right, I shouldn’t give you this.” She joked, eyeing the bottles then Dean.
I slightly straightened when she reappeared, silently enjoying her picking our side and teasing the older Winchester too. She wore a satisfied grin while Dean’s proud smile fell at her comment and I savored the sight of him being annoyed to be mocked at. I could get used to Dean Winchester being not amused, it was a pleasant and satisfying view.
A teasing smile on her lips, Jody offered Sam a beer he gladly took, thanking her, before sending an amused look to his brother. Then, without adding anything, he walked to the couch, dangerously close to where I was sitting. I tried to hold myself back but my eyes followed his movements for a second, before returning to Jody and Dean, still standing in front of each other. The elder brother turned his palms towards the sky in an annoyed gesture. I felt Sam sit beside me, taking place on the armrest next to me, his very presence sending tiny little sparks all over my back. I gritted my teeth at the feeling, trying to suppress it while he nonchalantly opened the bottle, unaware of the sensation on my back.
Why did he have to sit right there? Couldn’t he just pick an easy chair to sit on?
“Come on, what is this? The Vice Squad?” Dean complained and I internally snorted at his comment. He could be annoying but, as much as I hated it, I used this kind of reply too when someone was on my case when I hadn’t asked for their opinion.
Eva turned towards me for a second, a not-so-suppressed grin on her lips and I understood that she was thinking the same thing, having heard me say it multiples times before. Like when she would judge me for eating sushi with ketchup. Apparently, it was an insult to sushi, but wasn’t eating raw fish the real insult? And everything was better with ketchup!
“Here.” Jody finally declared, slightly rolling her eyes at Dean’s sudden big smile as he grabbed the bottle and walked to the couch too.
The green-eyed man happily sat down next to Eva, making her turn her head towards him as he uncapped his beer bottle with his hand. Jody sat down on the other side of the coffee table, crossing her hands between her slightly opened legs and looked at us.
“Jody, can you tell us more about the case?” Sam’s voice asked next to me and I could almost feel his hot breath landing on the top of my head. I mentally cursed him, keeping my face neutral as Jody looked at him. She took a breath before starting to talk about the reason of our coming.
“Three people went missing. Zach Garrison, Hailey Hammond and Charles Odom. Zach’s a local kid who lives alone in an apartment a bit out of town and was the first one to disappear. It’s his girlfriend, Liv, who reported him missing after a few days without news from him. She came to his apartment and found it empty. That was last week. Then there is Hailey. She works at a bar downtown, the JL Beers, and didn’t come to work for three days before her boss, Harry Werner, started to think that maybe she wasn’t just sick. He didn’t have any news since Tuesday. The last disappearance is Odom, works in public library next town, nobody heard from him for two days now. And today, we found Zach’s body near the river…” Jody explained the first part of the case, filling the boys and us in with what had happened in this town.
It was clear in her voice and expression that she was concerned about those missing persons. Of course it was her job as the sheriff to make sure of the safety of the inhabitants of Sioux Falls but I could feel how seriously she was taking this duty, how finding this man’s dead body was affecting her. But, looking at her, it looked like it was also giving her a certain strength, a powerful desire to found the killer and put them behind bars. Or put the monster down as it seemed to be in this case.
“You mentioned him being drained of his blood.” Sam added and Jody immediately nodded, approving this information.
“Yes. The M.E. didn’t found any stab wounds or bites marks, only a tiny hole in his arms, the size of what seems to be a needle. I checked myself. A few bruises on his body as well but that’s it.” Jody declared and I turned my head towards Eva who was wearing a disgusted expression.
I was repelled by those information but I knew that she and I weren’t uncomfortable for the same reasons. I knew Eva could physically feel and picture the blood being drained from her body, even though it wasn’t truly happening. I, on the other hand, felt almost sick at the idea of a person murdering another one. And I still wasn’t quite sure how I felt when this person wasn’t even human but a monster lurking in the darkness.
“Well, definitely sounds like a djinn. They keep their victims alive for a while until they’ve sucked all the poor guy’s blood.” Dean declared and I felt Eva shudder next to me, hating everything they were saying.
Naturally, I put a hand on her knee to ease her a little and Dean must have felt her discomfort too because he looked at her for a second, his slightly concerned eyes ready to found hers. But Eva had already turned her head to me, offering me a thankful smile at my gesture, missing the hunter’s look.
“Yes, that’s what it seems to be. And I would have loved to not have call you for this, guys, but I never dealt with one of those before and three disappearances in a week… it’s a lot of missing people, already. And I don’t want it to get out of hands.” Jody added, looking like she was sorry to have asked for their help.
“No, no, don’t worry. You were right to call us on this. Djinns are powerful and all it needs is a single touch to trap their victims.” Sam quickly answered and the sheriff nodded, showing how she appreciated them coming to help her. The brothers hadn’t hesitated even for a second, answering her call for help in an instant.
“Thank you for coming.” She replied, a simple smile on her face.
“Of course, Jody.” Dean added before clapping his hands before him and getting up in a grunt. “Well, Sam and I are gonna have take a look at that body, see if we find anything you could have missed. No offense.”
“Sure.” Jody nodded, getting up from her seat as Sam left his too.
My eyes found the wide back of the tall hunter as he walked in front of me and I quickly looked away, refusing to stare at him for even a second. So, focusing on my shoes, I ignored the hunters standing in the living room, preferring admiring my holed Converses than paying too much attention to the obvious muscles on his back.
His back…
Stop it, Emily!
“Aren’t we coming with you two?” Eva suddenly asked, her voice showing how unsure of her own question she was. But it was a great question. The guys were going to inspect the corpse but what about us? Were we going to wait for them here, in a stranger’s home? Because as nice as Jody seemed to be, we didn’t know her at all and even if I didn’t doubt that Eva would have made conversation with our host, I wasn’t feeling really comfortable staying there all day long.
“Hum, no, not really.” Dean started and I tucked my chin at how sure of this he was.
“Why?” I immediately asked before I could even prevent myself from speaking.
“Well, I’m sorry to break it to you but you’re not an FBI agent.” He started and I glared at him at tone he had used. “And even if we wanted to bring you with us, we don’t have any fake badges for you two.” He explained, pinching his lips together when he was finished.
As much as I wanted to argue with him that we could still join them and hated to even think this: he was right. Eva and I had zero experience on impersonating federal agents and considering the look on Sam and Dean’s faces, they weren’t going to teach us any of this that day.
“Dean’s right, you can’t come with us for this.” Sam added, his voice leaving no room for argument and this time, I gave him a look too, frustration invading my body.
And what were we supposed to do during this time?
I hadn’t realized that, by agreeing to come with them on this case, we were going to stay behind, alone, waiting for them to come back. I hated this idea, it made me feel useless.
“Well, I can show you girls around during that time. I’ll have to finish preparing the bedding for your staying, if you don’t mind helping me?” Jody suddenly turned to us, offering a warm smile, as she tried to find a way for us to pass the time while the guys would be gone.
I appreciated how she tried to make us feel like we weren’t just going to wait there, on the couch, for the boys to come back. I wouldn’t have agreed to that either way. It was out of question to let her do everything without lifting a finger. She was welcoming us in her home, the least we could do was help her prepare the things we needed for our stay here. I certainly wasn’t going to let myself be serviced by her, especially when I already felt like I was inviting myself to her house.
So, I nodded, letting her know that we were going to help her, needless to say, and gave her a polite smile.
“Of course, we’ll help you.” Eva quickly replied with a smile.
“By the way, where are Claire and Alex?” Dean asked, furrowing his eyebrows for a second.
Right. The boys had mentioned Jody’s adoptive daughters and since we were here, we hadn’t met any other resident of this house. And now that Dean was mentioning it, I started to wonder how big Jody’s house was to welcome all of us there. I knew for sure that Eva and I could book a motel room for the weekend if it was complicated to find a bed for the two of us. But before I could look further into the situation, Jody answered Dean’s question.
“Claire went to a party with some of her friends and will sleep at one of her friends’. As for Alex… Alex is staying at her boyfriend’s place tonight.” She quickly let out in a breath, as though she wasn’t ready for her own words.
Dean’s eyebrows raised at her sentence, surprise written all over his face as he crossed his arms on his chest.
“Oh. And you’re alright with that?” Dean asked with an amused smile, leaning against the wall next to him.
“Well, no. But I can’t keep her locked in here forever, can I?” Jody replied, her motherhood showing at this sentence.
I internally smiled at how protective over her girls she seemed to be. I didn’t know anything about the woman, yet, but she appeared to be a great mother, worried about them even if she hadn’t been the one giving birth to them.
A movement to the right of Dean caught my attention and my eyes landed on Sam. He looked at the watch wrapped around his wrist, not paying attention to the conversation happening. Something strange happened in my chest at his taciturn behavior and he raised his head, his eyes founding mine. I quickly looked away, not wanting any kind of eye contact with him and stared at Eva instead, listening to Dean and Jody.
“Dean,” Sam interrupted, “I think we should go talk to the coroner.” The hunter declared, pointing at his watch to make his brother aware of the time passing and therefore putting an end to the conversation going on.
“Right.” The older man answered, turning around and bending to grab their duffle bags on the ground in a grunt.
“The two bedrooms at the end of the hall and the bathroom are free.” She simply said and Dean nodded.
“Where can we…?” He started when he straightened, pointing behind him with his thumb.
Jody seemed to understand whatever he was asking because she answered his unfinished question.
“Great, thanks.”
Dean placed one of the bags on his shoulder before throwing the other one to his brother. Sam caught the bag with surprise, a huff leaving his mouth and glared at his brother, annoyance in his eyes. Dean offered him a wide smile, amused by his own actions and turned around, heading to the stairs behind him, his brother following.

Eva’s POV:
As the boys went upstairs, Jody asked us how the road to her place had been.
Emily and I automatically answered that it had all went well, even if, for me, it had been far from it. Holding back tears, trying to breath correctly while fearing looking at the man I had spent the night with wasn’t what I could call ‘a nice trip’. But I had to be honest with myself and say that, now that he and I had talked, I felt much better, lighter, even if I was regretting acting the way I had.
I would apologize about that to him later.
In order to pass the time while the boys were doing whatever they had to do upstairs, Jody asked some basic questions to get to know us. I could feel how nervous and uncomfortable Emily felt, her voice all soft and high as she answered Jody’s questions. She was always like this when in a stranger’s house. Emily wanted to be as polite as possible, trying to make the other person as comfortable and untroubled as they could be, making her presence as less remarkable as possible. So, in order to make it easier for her, I was going to do the talking for the both of us. I didn’t mind answering Jody’s questions and according to my best friend’s look, she was appreciating it.
After a few minutes, the sound of footsteps going down the stairs caught our attention. Bringing my glass to my lips to take a sip of the apple juice, I raised my head towards the sounds, catching the sight of unfamiliar clothes. I frowned for a second when I didn’t see the basic jeans the brothers usually wore and my eyes widened when I took a better look at it.
Once I looked passed the Oxford shoes going down the stairs, I lifted my gaze, going up the dark darted pants covering familiar bowlegs. Then, passing the sight of the dark belt around his waist, my eyes landed on a strong chest hidden behind a bright white shirt, a green tie hanging at his neck and bringing out his already jade orbs, even ten feet away.
A suit.
Dean was wearing a suit. And he looked absolutely incredible in it. Hot and handsome.
Oh my…
Even if I had wanted to hide those thoughts, my body betrayed me as I choked on the beverage I was sipping. Slamming my glass on the table, I started to cough loudly, choking on the damn apple juice and the sudden amazing beauty thrown at me. Covering my mouth with a hand and resting the other one on my chest, I tried to breath properly, couching even more as some juice tried to leave my lungs. I felt Emily slightly patting my back in a comforting gesture, trying to make me breath again and I finally calmed down, clenching my jaws in concentration so it wouldn’t come back.
With watery eyes, I straightened, feeling everyone’s gaze on me – for obvious reasons – and I tried to avoid every one of them. But as though they had a mind on their own, my eyes naturally found Dean and his slightly pleased smile. I gulped, my heart hammering in my chest at the near-death experience and the sight of him. I took a deep breath, trying to find my composure back under his intense gaze and hardly swallowed when he kept staring at me, like no one else was in the room with us.
“You’re okay there, Sweetheart?” He asked, a satisfied tone in his voice and his eyebrows slightly raised. All of his face showed how proud and contented he felt to get this reaction out of me, as though he was forgetting for a second that we were supposed to keep the thing between us discreet.
“Yeah…. hum… Wrong pipe.” I tried to explain with a hoarse voice, slightly patting my chest to try and clear it out.
Dean gave a me a little smile, not buying my lie and I cleared my throat again. The more I was going to look at him the worst it was going to be, so, I turned my head to my best friend. Already looking at me, Emily sent me a look, silently making me understand her thoughts. Thoughts that I knew meant ‘Wrong pipe? Really? There is absolutely no other reasons behind you choking on apple juice?’. Of course there was another reason! So many other reasons.
Trying to avoid her knowing look, I turned my head towards the brothers. Briefly taking another look at Dean, my eyes fell on Sam. The tallest brother was wearing a dark blue suit, a plaid tie of a lighter blue resting on his chest and even if, to me, no one could compete with Dean’s look, I had to admit that Sam looked incredibly good too! He objectively looked hot and knowing my best friend, I would have been surprised if she didn’t thought so too.
At first, she refused to look at me, probably feeling my gaze on her but I saw the tips of her ears reddening. I smiled. Emily had become a master in hiding when she blushed, literally swallowing it down, but she still hadn’t managed to stop the tips of her cute little ears from reddening. And this was exactly what I needed to know how she felt.
I must have analyzed his looks for a second too long because Sam narrowed his eyes at me when I looked at his face, his brows furrowing. Or maybe he was suspicious about my sudden choking, seeing right through me and my reaction at his brother’s sight. I had already felt his suspicious eyes on me during the whole ride there but I had tried to ignore those, acting as natural as possible to prevent him from finding out what his brother and I had done the night before.
Hoping to not look too weird, I gave Sam a slightly embarrassed smile for staring at him like this and turned to my best friend again.
Oh, same here, Em’, same here.
“Alright, we gotta go. The sooner we see the body, the sooner we can search for the others.” Sam declared, not forgetting for a second the reason why they were here in the first place.
Dean nodded next to him and my stomach warmed up when I looked at him again. The green-eyed hunter had his arms crossed before him, his suit fitting his biceps perfectly and I took a deep breath. I had felt those under my hands, skin-to-skin. I knew what he looked like under those clothes. And the more I looked at him, the more I felt like everyone in the room knew that.
“Yah, we’ll let you know if we find anything.” Dean added and looked at me.
I wondered if he knew the affect he had on me, if he could see it as much as I could feel it. But from the look in his eyes, he seemed to, a discreet smile present at the corner of his lips.
The brothers checked their fake FBI ideas and I wondered what aliases they had chosen this time.
“You guys are not gonna leave on an empty stomach.” Jody declared standing up, the mother in her showing at her comment. I smiled, loving that they had someone like her in their life. They always took care of each other and it warmed my heart to see that Jody took care of them when they came visit her.
“We’re gonna grab a bite on the way, don’t worry.” Dean replied, offering her a big smile and she sent him a disapproving look. Next to him, Sam gave her a sorry smile too, showing that he agreed with his brother.
Before she could say anything else, the brothers turned around and headed to the front door.
“We’ll keep you updated!” Dean shouted, raising a hand in the air in a waving gesture and I couldn’t help but let a quiet snort out at his behavior.
The hunter took a few more steps and my eyes lowered on their own until they found his backside. I had often stolen a few glances at his behind but I had to say that those pants were doing real justice to his ass. But before I could think more of it, he disappeared at the corner of the living room, putting an end to my slightly inappropriate thoughts.
The door closed behind them and Jody let a sigh out, probably a bit frustrated with them leaving like that. The woman turned to us, a tight smile on her face and put her hands on her hips. I smiled at her, understanding her feeling and she gave us a warm look.
“Well. I’ll show you girls your room then.” She declared and I nodded, turning my head towards Emily who seemed tenser than before now that we were alone with the Sheriff. She was still going to need some time to adjust to being in her home, I knew that. But I hoped that it was soon going to be easier for her because Jody seemed to be a very nice woman.
“Sure.” I replied, looking at Jody again.
“Alright, follow me.” She asked and headed to the stairs, waiting for us to grab our bags and join her.
Glancing at Emily, I offered her a friendly smile and winked at her, a gesture she seemed to appreciate, and took the first step towards the short-haired woman.
Tumblr media
Emily’s POV :
“Since the girls aren’t here I could have give you a room each, but I know Claire doesn’t like when someone goes into her bedroom, not even me. And if I don’t let either of you sleep in her room, it wouldn’t be fair to let you use Alex’s. I’ve heard you both have siblings, I’m sure you know what it’s like.” Jody explained in the hallway upstairs and I saw perfectly what she meant. Florian and I often bickered about who had more soda in their glass, equality was everything in our house. So, I understood what she meant.
Eva let a light chuckle at Jody’s words and the woman slightly turned around to look at us. I nodded.
“Yes, a little.” I replied, my voice higher than usual, shyer even, and I rolled my eyes at myself when she turned around.
Why was I always taking this high, shy and annoyingly honeyed voice when I was with a stranger? Ugh! Why couldn’t I just be natural? Plus, Jody seemed to be a nice woman, there was no reason to feel uncomfortable around her.
“I gotta say, living with those two… it’s not always a piece of cake. Claire is… she has her temper.” She admitted and I felt myself be sporting a polite smile even though she couldn’t see me.
Unable to respond anything to that, empty of any kind of answer to give her, Eva was the one speaking this time.
“Well… From what Sam and Dean told us, you seem to be handling it very well.” She declared and I could feel her smile in her voice. It was true that the brothers had spoken highly of her and from the look of it, she seemed to be true to her reputation.
The woman slightly turned around, looking at us behind her shoulder and smiled, clearly appreciating the comment.
“Thanks. I’m not perfect for sure but I’m doing my best.” She said and continued to walk through the hallway.
Jody’s house was big. We hadn’t seen every corner of this place but even from outside it was huge. Her living room was bigger than Eva’s bedroom and mine gathered; and our apartment was okay. And now that we were walking in the hallway upstairs, I wondered how many rooms were available in her place considering we had already walked pass two bedrooms. Claire’s and Alex’s from what I had understood. Taking a few more steps, two other doors were closed on each sides of the corridor. Another one was at the end of the hallway, a sign indicating that it was the bathroom pinned on the white wooden door.
Then, Jody came to a halt in front of the closed door on the left.
“You girls can stay in this room.” Jody started while opening the door and taking a few steps in the room. Eva followed her and I was the last one to enter. “I hope that you don’t mind sharing a bed, I assumed that it would be okay.” She said, turning to us and waiting for our reaction.
“It’s no problem for us, don’t worry.” Eva answered with a smile.
“Absolutely.” I timidly agreed and mentally cursed myself for appearing so… honeyed. It was one thing to feel a bit uncomfortable around Jody, but I hated to not act like myself like that.
“But maybe it won’t be the case for the boys.” Eva tried to joke at the idea of Sam and Dean sharing a bed and Jody chuckled at her comment.
“Well, they won’t have a choice.” She declared, not leaving room for them to argument with her and I liked how confident of it she was. And Eva was right, I wasn’t sure either that the brothers were going to be thrilled with the idea of sharing a bed with each other. We knew that they had slept in the same room basically all their life but I didn’t know if they often slept in the same bed.
“Alright, so there are some sheets just here.” Jody explained, opening a wardrobe and taking some in her hands and Eva hurried to take them from her, placing them on the undone bed. When she turned around, Eva smiled at me and I gave her a slight grin in return.
“You have some blankets just here in case you’re cold during the night.” The Sheriff pointed at an upper shelf of the furniture. “And feel free to hang your clothes in there too, it’s your space.” She explained and I appreciated how she was welcoming us in her house.
Eva nodded and I thanked Jody with a smile. My roommate put down her bag on the floor, next to the bed and I did the same, placing mine right next to hers.
“There are some towels in the bathroom for you two, under the sink, if you wanna take a shower. The changing of bath mode to the shower mode is a bit difficult but the trick is to slightly push it on the right.” She explained with a smile. Then the tallest woman started to walk towards the exit of the room, making us turn around to keep our eyes on her.
“I don’t know if you girls are hungry bu-” She didn’t get to finish her sentence as her phone rang. Jody took her phone out of her pocket and gave us an apologetic smile.
“Excuse me.” She told us, gesturing to the call she was receiving and we made her understood that she could answer it without any problem. She gave us a quick smile before answering to a certain Scott and left the room, disappearing in the hallway.
Turning to my best friend, Eva was playing with her hands, looking around the little bedroom we were in. The bedroom was small and cozy, the window opposite to the door was allowing the sunlight to get it and shine on the warm colored bedroom. The huge wooden wardrobe was placed opposite to the bed and created a very welcoming place even though it was clear that it wasn’t used often.
A few seconds later, Jody came back in the room, ending her call.
“Sorry, an agent of mine just called. One of our regular visitors is causing them some troubles and our new guy won’t be able to handle him alone. I have to go back to the precinct and give them a hand.” She quickly explained, slightly sighing as though it was bothering her to leave us.
“Of course, Jody. You have other things to do.” Eva told her and I nodded.
“I would have loved to show you around a little more but I really have to go. I’m sorry to leave you like this, girls.” Jody declared and I slightly shook my head at her.
“No worries, Jody, it was already really nice of you to show us your house.” I told her and she gave me a kind smile.
“Alright.” She suddenly said, clapping her hands before her in an attempt to get into action. “I don’t know how long I’ll be gone but from what I’ve understood, you two didn’t eat either. So, there are some leftovers in the fridge if you want, feel free to heat them up. But if you’d rather eat something outside, which I’d understand, Botski’s Bar and Grill in town is a great place. I recommend it to you.” Jody explained and the idea of eating her food while she wasn’t even being here bothered me. A lot. So, I didn’t know yet what Eva thought of this but to me, this diner sounded good.
The Sheriff exited the bedroom and with a move of her head indicated us to come with her. So we did and followed her in the hallway while she continued to explain us our options while she was gone.
“I’m gonna give you two a spare key to the house so you can come and go as you wish.” She suddenly declared as she went down the stairs, making me mentally freeze.
This woman didn’t know us even the slightest and she was entrusting us with the key to her home. How could she so fearlessly let us stay here in the first place was surprising me but the idea of leaving two strangers in my house and allowing them to go back and forth without minding at all was impressing me.
She was giving us a trust we didn’t even earned.
“Jody… are you sure? I mean, we would understand if you’d rather have us waiting here for you to come back. Or wait in town and you locking behind us when you leave.” Eva tried to say as if she had read my mind. She probably wasn’t feeling totally comfortable with this situation either and found the idea of staying at her place without her a bit much for a first meeting. But Jody didn’t seem to agree as she turned her head towards us once she reached the end of the stairs.
“I’m not gonna ask for you to sit and wait here while I’m at work. I want you to feel comfortable here so, if you’d rather spend the day outside, go. I’m just asking you to lock after you when you leave.” She declared with seriousness and I felt myself nodding at her words.
The tall woman continued walking until she disappeared behind a corner, the sound of a drawer opening reaching my ears. Eva stopped at the end of the stairs in sync with me and we looked at each other, silently agreeing with the fact that she was being incredibly nice to us. I was amazed by people’s kindness sometimes. And never knew how to react to it. Then, my best friend gulped as though she was thinking about something bothering her. I raised my eyebrows, trying to understand what was suddenly on her mind and she took a step towards me.
“Do you think that it’s wise to leave this house? I mean, with the… the monster in town and Dean and Sam gone… If they come back and we aren’t here… I don’t know, I don’t think they’d want us to leave without them.” Eva said, letting her worries out.
And I understood that she felt this way, Eva had always been one to ask for permission when I would rather ask for forgiveness. Even if, in most cases, forgiveness wasn’t even to ask. And in this situation, I neither wanted to ask for permission or forgiveness, I didn’t want to patiently wait for them just because they could be a little upset about us leaving a place they had left us alone at in the first place. At most, I would have stayed there without arguing if it had been what Jody has asked us, after all it was her house. But apparently, as surprising as it was to me, she was willing to let us decide whether we wanted to stay here or not while she was gone.
“Well, you’re not prisoners here, so you can do whatever you want. And if Sam or Dean have a problem with it, they’ll deal with me. They can’t expect you to just wait here for them to be finished with their work while you do nothing. So feel free to visit the town if you want and go eat something at this dinner. You’ll see, Gary is a nice guy.” Jody declared before I could even reply anything to my best friend. And how I loved this woman’s answer.
I could see Eva’s doubt in the way she breathed, a little out of words, and the way she slightly moved in discomfort but I, on the other hand, felt more comfortable around Jody than since the beginning of our meeting. I didn’t know what I expected of her, and to say she hadn’t scared me a little with her appearing knowing eyes would have been a lie, but in this moment it felt like we were sharing the point of view on things. And I liked this, the idea of neither of the boys having to say anything about what we did.
A smile appeared on my face in spite of myself and Jody must have seen it because she gave me one back. Giving me a single nod in understatement, she confirmed her words, silently saying that she was having our back.
“So, here the keys, make sure to lock when you leave.” She repeated and took a few steps towards us, handing me the key.
Quickly stealing a glance at Eva, I took the spare key and smiled at Jody.
“Thank you.” I simply said, my voice more natural than before and I mentally thanked myself for this.
“And I’m gonna give you my number, just in case.” She said, walking to the coffee table. Jody grabbed a pen and scribbled something quickly on a piece of paper. Once she was done, she came back to us.
“Here.” This time, she handed the object to Eva who gently took it, reading the numbers on it. “There is a bus stop down the road on the left, it can get you downtown in a short ten minutes. Feel free to come back whenever you want. All I’m asking is for you to be careful and call me if you there is anything.” She declared with a smile and put on her jacket before leaving her house without worrying for a second.
Eva’s POV :
She shouted to us to make ourselves at home before she shut the front door, leaving us standing in her living room before Eva or I – even if I was actually agreeing with her on most points – could argue with her. I turned towards my best friend who was staring at the closed front door, speechless about what had just happened. I, on the other hand, felt myself slightly smiling.
Yeah. Maybe I was going to like this woman, after all.
Staring at the opened messages section on my phone, doubt invaded my mind.
I was thorn between letting Dean know that we had left Jody’s place and taking the risk of him not liking it and the option of not telling him anything, enjoying my afternoon with Emily but risking him maybe being angrier that I hadn’t told him. I knew this mental debate was stupid because I was a grown up, so was Emily, and we could do whatever we wanted. It wasn’t like they had given us order to stay in Jody’s living room. But still, it felt wrong, like I had to let him know. But Emily surely didn’t agree with that, her free will was really important to her and she never let anyone tell her what to do. I, on the contrary, would rather have people telling me what I should do, it was easier and so mind freeing for me.
I knew how stupid that sounded but I couldn’t help it. I didn’t want to have to argue with Dean if I hadn’t texted him when I should have.
Ugh, why was I creating problems to myself like this? I could just live my life, I didn’t have to justify myself. And he wouldn’t be mad if I was being careful, right? Right?
“You’re not listening to me at all, are you?” Emily’s voice suddenly reached my brain and I raised my head to look at her, eyebrows high on my forehead in confusion.
“What?” I asked, coming back to Earth and to the diner we were sitting at, the sound of forks on plates and people talking filling my ears. Emily glared at me and I pinched my lips at her expression.
I hadn’t even registered her talking to me.
“Sorry.” I apologized, feeling bad for not paying attention to what she was telling me.
My best friend let a sigh out and I quickly locked my phone as though I had something to hide and straightened, placing the device next to my legs.
“Are you texting him?” Emily asked, slightly raising her eyebrows and I mimicked her expression.
“Who?” I asked, playing dumb even though I had no reason to lie about that, we both always knew who him was. At this Emily rolled her eyes, not believing me, and I gave her a little pinched smile.
“You know who. You don’t have to tell him where you are all the time, you know. I mean, like Jody said, we’re free and adults, we can take care of ourselves. Hell, we’ve been taking care of ourselves before we even knew them.” The blue-eyed girl in front of me said and I knew she was right. But something in me didn’t feel right if I didn’t tell him about this.
“I know, I know…” I sighed, my eyes landing on the menu I hadn’t even looked at yet. “I just don’t want him to be mad at me because I didn’t keep him updated about where we’ve been.” I explained and Emily took a deep breath, understanding my fear.
It was always the same thing with me, I didn’t want people to get mad at me. And after years of knowing each other, Emily knew that very well. When she had no problems speaking her mind and standing up to people, all I wanted was to disappear, avoid any conflicts and apologize for weeks. We didn’t deal the same way in those situation and where she found some kind of stimulation in it, I only saw danger and insecurity.
“Yeah, I think she can be pretty scary.” I joked and my best friend nodded rapidly.
“Well, the thing you need to understand in your little head is that no one can be mad at you. You’re just frustrating like that.” Emily declared and I let a little laugh out at her words. “And why would he be mad, huh? We don’t have to report him our every actions. So if he has a problem with us being outside and eating, he’ll get through me. And Jody, apparently.” She continued, a bit of amusement in the end of her sentence and I smiled, loving the sound of that.
I could always count on her even when I was being a coward and kept a low profile when I was caught red-handed, just like I did in high school. When we were being in the wrong because we were talking about everything but the class, Emily never feared the teachers, explaining herself without being disrespectul and finding a way to avoid us some blame while I would look at my feet and pray for the ground to swallow me. So if Emily was capable of facing her teachers back at high school, I had no doubt she wouldn’t have any trouble facing Dean.
“Right? I mean, she seems nice and I don’t wanna talk badly of her, but it looks like she can see right through you without even trying.” Emily said, clear in her voice that it wasn’t something she was enjoying.
“Do you think it’s a mom power or something? Like, the moment you become a mother you can see through people you don’t even know just by looking at them?” I wondered at loud and Emily made a face, shaking her head at me.
“God, I hope not. My plan is to avoid eye-contact and proximity with her.” She declared and I laughed, knowing that it wasn’t even a joke. Of course she was going to try and avoid Jody at all cost, probably fearing questions she didn’t want to answer to.
I crossed my arms and rested them on the table.
“I see, staying polite without being too close. This way you won’t have to answer to the least personal question possible. Good plan.” I joked and she chuckled.
“Exactly! It’s already embarrassing enough that I have this stupid voice every time I talk to her. I’m not gonna go and see if she can figure out everything about me. I won’t do this to myself.” She declared, shaking her head and I knew she meant it. She truly hated this sweetened voice even if it wasn’t that terrible actually.
“Hey, there’s nothing wrong in what you do and you really don’t sound as bad as you think. You’re just being really polite and that’s nice! The carefulness in your voice can be a bit surprising when we actually know you, but that’s all.” I explained and she let out an annoyed sound, throwing her head back to rest against the back of the booth.
“Ugh, I wanna punch myself every time I hear myself talking.” She grumbled and I chuckled.
“It’s really not that bad. Just be your amazing self and Jody will adore you.” I truthfully told her with a wink and she rolled her eyes.
“Yeah, right.” She replied, clear in her voice that she didn’t believe me much.
Before I could argue with her, a young man approached us, a notebook and a pen in his hand. A huge smile plastered in his face he seemed incredibly sympathetic and I grinned back, appreciating the kindness that emanated from him. Passing a hand through his dark hair, he stopped at our table, ready to take our order.
“Hi, what can I get you two?” He asked and my eyes widened for a second at his question.
Lost in my thoughts, I had totally forgotten to read the menu and even though my stomach was eating itself from the inside, I didn’t know what it craved.
“Huuuh…” I started, quickly grabbing the menu before me and scanning the list of food. “Sorry, I haven’t chosen yet, but I’ll be quick.” I apologized and he chuckled.
“It’s alright, I can come back in a few minutes.” He explained but I shook my head, I was starving and wouldn’t take long to choose what was going to fill my empty stomach.
“Em’, you can order if you made your choice.” I told her, trying to gain more time to go trough the menu.
I hadn’t seen the bagels options yet but if there were it was evident that she had picked that. She could eat those for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was safe to say it was one of her favorite food ever. And I agreed, it was a nice choice.
“Alright. I’ll take the veggie bagel with an apple juice, please.” Emily ordered and I raised my head at her.
Of course.
“Bagels sound good. I’ll take the Indiana one with a coke, please.” I finally ordered with yet another apologizing smile.
“Those are pretty good, I hope you’ll like them.” Our waiter told us, scribbling our order before looking at us again. “French fries or salad with those?” He asked and I took the greasy side order while Emily favored the more healthy one.
Once our waiter left, my stomach growled and I put my hand on it, trying to silence it.
“God, I’m starving.” I declared, comfortably resting against the booth.
“You don’t say! You didn’t eat anything all day, of course you’re hungry!” Emily replied and I shook my head at her.
“That’s not true, I ate a Twix bar earlier.” I answered even though I knew it wasn’t what she meant. And as I expected, my best friend rolled her eyes at me.
“Yeah, I’m fine now. Sorry for earlier, I didn’t wanna bring the mood down like that.” I apologized, lowering my head a little.
“Well you didn’t eat anything else than a Twix bar.” She playfully glared at me. “By the way, how are you feeling now? You seem better but, how are you?” She gently asked and my stomach tightening at her question.
Of course she had noticed it, everyone had, but I somehow wished that it hadn’t stayed on her mind.
It was the truth. Now that I had talked with Dean, I felt lighter and not like I was ready to cry if someone asked me what was going on. But I still felt a bit bad for being so quiet and bringing such a thick tension in the car. It hadn’t been anyone’s fault but me and my stupid brain.
“No, no, don’t worry about that. I’m glad if you feel better now, though. I am. You wanna tell me what was bothering you?” Emily asked both curious to know what had happened, I couldn’t blame her, and concerned about how I felt.
Yes. And I wanna tell you about my night with him and what I agreed to. I wanna tell you everything. I wanna tell you about him. I have so much to tell you.
But I couldn’t. I had agreed to not say a thing about Dean and I for the moment and the more the day went by, the less I felt like I could do it. How was I suppose to not tell the one person I said everything to that I had spent the night with the guy? And as much as it could be a bit excited to keep it a secret, it didn’t feel as right as it could have.
“It was just stupid and not important.” I tried, torn between telling her everything and avoiding this conversation.
Emily tilted her head to the right and raised her eyebrows, her face showing that she didn’t believe me in the slightest. And I knew that, she had seen my reddened eyes after all.
“When are you finally gonna stop beat around the bush with me and tell me right away what you wanna say?” She asked, a bit annoyed and I couldn’t blame her.
“I know… I just feel stupid about it.” I told her and it was the truth. Even if it was over, I still felt guilty and like an idiot for acting and thinking that way in the first place.
The brown haired girl in front of me stared at me, patience in her eyes, ready to let me talk about it if I wanted. And I wanted to. I always felt better when I talked to her about what was bothering or had bothered me. Talking to Emily was liberating and even if at first I was reluctant to do so, not wanting to annoy her with my stupid thoughts, I always felt better after telling her.
“It’s just my stupid brain who did stupid things.” I declared and she furrowed her eyebrows at me, shaking her head.
“Stop saying that.”
But I ignored her comment and continued.
“My day started well and I just… I don’t know, I started to see and feel things the wrong way. I misinterpreted that one little thing and just overthought from there. I mean, you know me.” I explained, letting a little laugh out at the end of my sentence and Emily gave me a light smile.
And it was the truth. A bit vague and unclear but still the truth. Everything had went well until I had started to think.
“I bet I can’t know about that ‘one little thing’, can I? It was about Dean, wasn’t it?” She suddenly asked and I felt my eyes widening at her question. “I’m sorry to break it to you but we could all see it was about him.” She said, a smile at the corner of her lips and I let a dramatic sigh out.
So much for keeping it a secret.
“Yeah… yes, it was about him. And it was stupid but we talked about it and it’s all good now, we’re all good.” I told her, feeling the easy smile on my face.
“When all of you just abandoned me in the car?” She asked, a bit of contrariety in her voice. It was right that I hadn’t seen it that way, I had actually selfishly didn’t think about it but it was true that at one point we were all in the gas station but Emily.
“Yeah… I’m sorry about that too.” I gritted my teeth and she let a chuckle out.
“No, it’s fine. I know that I’m the butt of this group’s joke.” She accused with humor and I lightly laughed at her falsely annoyed face.
Before I could add anything, the dark-haired waiter came back with our plates and widely smiled at us. Straightening a little to give him the space he needed to put the dishes on the table, I smiled at him in return.
“Here are is the Indiana bagel” He said, placing my order in front of him, then he put Emily’s in front of her too. “And the veggie one.”
“Thank you.” Emily and I replied in sync and he wished us a good appetite before leaving us to our meals.
“God, I’m starving!” Emily quickly declared, immediately grabbing her bagel and taking a huge bite of it, humming in pleasure when she started chewing.
I laughed, loving how she always had the same reaction and feeling when she ate a bagel. Closing her eyes and savoring every part of this food. I picked mine up and took a bite, my stomach already thanking me for finally putting actual food in it.
“Well, huh, yah. I mean, did you see him? This suit really, well, suited him. And with the green tie it was… phew!” I told her and she let a laugh out, a wide smile on her face at my words.
“Hum, speaking of Dean, care to explain me what happened to you earlier? Had some troubles drinking?” She teased and I almost chocked on my food, feeling myself blushing at the memory.
Hardly swallowing, I put my bagel down and stared at her. I couldn’t tell her yet about what had actually happened between he and I, but she knew what I thought of him, how I saw him so there was no reasons denying it. And thinking about it, it could actually free me.
Just thinking about it did things to my stomach but I knew for sure that I hadn’t been the only one who wasn’t left indifferent when they had came down the stairs. So, raising my eyebrows, I grinned in advance at my future sentence.
“Like you didn’t blush when Sam appeared as Mister fake FBI agent.” I teased and Emily raised her eyebrows high on her forehead, her face trying show me she had no idea what I was talking about but unfortunately for her I had seen her traitorous ears.
“Nope. Didn’t look at him, I don’t even know what he looks like, actually.” She feigned to not know, taking another bite of her bagel and I rolled my eyes.
“Oh. Well, that’s a shame because he looked really hot in his suit, really highlighted his chest and shoulders.” I declared, casually picking a french fry and dipping it in my mayonnaise, giving a knowing look to my best friend.
Locking eyes with her, she glared at me, not amused by my teasing but I couldn’t help my grin from widening.
“But weren’t you too busy looking at Dean, anyway? I’m sure you have more thoughts about it. I mean, you’re the one who chocked on your drink, not me.” She said back, a satisfied grin on her lips and took my glass of coke to have a sip.
Taking another bite of my food, I nodded, not denying it. Of course I had had troubles drinking, and everyone had been there to witness it.
“Well, I wasn’t expecting to see this. It took me by surprise, okay?” I defended myself and she let a little laugh out. “And I’m just telling you, you missed something with Sam. He looked really, really good in this suit.” I emphasized with a smirk and Emily shook her head, sipping at her drink this time.
“Meh. I don’t think so. He doesn’t even look that good actually.” She lied, not even meeting my eyes anymore.
“Oh yeah?” I raised my eyebrows and she nodded, putting her glass down.
“Yep.” She stated and continued eating.
I hummed, not believing her but finally stopping my teasing. I couldn’t force her to reveal anything she didn’t want to, even less admit anything about Sam. She had commented something about this man was when she either had been drunk off her ass at the bar or after their date. So, I decided to let it go, suddenly remembering that this teasing could back fire and that she could ask questions too. Questions I couldn’t answer to. Questions about the night before.
I took another one of my hot french fries and surprisingly Emily spoke up again.
“Plus, he made a poor choice in tie. Really questionable taste.” She declared, saying this like she was saying it had rained the day before when she was actually admitting she had looked at Sam Winchester. And had even taken a good look at him to know she hadn’t liked his tie at all.
“Ah! So you did look!” I replied with a huge smile I could feel in my cheeks.
But quickly, Emily faked a frown, shaking her head at me as though I had said something absurd.
“No…” She poorly lied, not even trying to hide it correctly. “Shut up.”
But her attempt to refute what she had just let slip was her way to admit that she had indeed looked at him – and potentially enjoyed it – without really admitting it either. We both knew that she didn’t just let slip things like those, it was an unspoken rule between us, if she ‘innocently’ said something like this, it was because she wanted to tell me about it. And it didn’t matter that she took it back right after. It meant that she was finally admitting it to herself, even if it was just a little bit, and it was the good step I hoped she would take.
So, in order to try and not make her regret saying this, I nodded, taking in her words and grabbed another fry.
“Oh okay. I thought so. My bad, then.” I declared, both of us clearly knowing what it all truly meant.
Turning her bagel in her hands, she shrugged.
“Nah, don’t worry, we all make mistakes.” She replied in a mocking tone before taking another bite, the conversation stopping there with a chuckle from me.
She hadn’t said anything too revealing, I knew that, but it was something. And I started to wonder if something had happened to change her mind or if she had just decided that she could finally admit a few things to me and to herself concerning the giant hunter. After all, she had been a bit strange too this morning…

Emily’s POV :
Ugh…
Why did I have to say that! I shouldn't have said anything. Why did I have to make a comment on his stupid tie!
I should have just kept this to myself, continue to pretend I hadn’t had a single thought when seeing him in this damn suit. Actually, I shouldn’t even have looked at him at all, it would have had solved everything. But I couldn’t helped myself and looked, internally blushing and screaming at him. Or at myself. I didn’t know even anymore. I wanted to yell at everyone, at everything. I wanted to yell at him to ask him why. Why had he kissed me? Why did make me fe… And of course Eva had to look at him too!
Couldn’t she have just stare at Dean and not pay attention to Sam at all, forgetting herself that he existed?
But contradictorily I also kinda wanted to tell her.
I wanted to tell her a lot of things, but at the same time I didn’t want to. I wanted her advice to try and clear my head, to put some orders upstairs after what had happened. I needed some guidance on what it all meant. If it meant anything, actually. I didn’t even know if I wanted it to. But I also didn’t want to tell her, I wanted to keep it to myself, I didn’t want to say something that wasn’t true. Saying it out loud made it real and I far from wanted that. I was aware that my secret and thoughts would be safe with her. I knew that if I told her that Sam had… she would just have been excited for me.
Why did he have to enter my life?
And I knew that I could tell her that I had indeed looked at him as a fake FBI agent and that I had indeed noticed the way his shirt stuck to his torso and how the jacket revealed his back muscles. And that I had had some shameful thoughts about it but I wasn’t ready to fully let them out yet, not to Eva and hardly to myself.
Why was everything so hard?
I was just tired. The day before had been full of strong emotions, things had been done, words had been said and I simply felt drained. I merely wanted to be home, put all of this aside, get away from Sam for the day and have a quiet evening wrapped in my flannelette. I just wanted to stop thinking. I needed a break from all those emotions but couldn’t and some new ones more were being added now. Because on top of all of this, we were meeting someone new and slept in her house. And as much as Jody seemed to be a great woman, I wasn’t natural around her and feared what she could interpret; making the option of staying be Eva’s side for the whole week-end the best and smartest choice. And maybe if I stayed next to her long enough she was going to tell me whatever she was hiding from me.
“I’m freezing my ass off. I hate Winter so much.” Eva complained, wrapping her yellow scarf a bit more tightly around herself.
“Okay. So, ten more minutes and we’re there.” Eva’s voice brought me back to Earth and I saw her looking at the digital maps in her right hand.
Deciding to take a look around Sioux Falls before getting back to Jody’s house, Eva and I had walked down the diner’s street until we turned at the corner of a movie theater. This town seemed nice, not too crowded but still active, the many shops in the streets still opened and running. Taking a few more steps before turning to the left, we came across a park and Eva informed me that it could be a way cut through town and get back to Jody’s place faster. I agreed to this idea, even though I would have loved to spend more time outside before facing everyone again, and followed her through the bare trees. Some children and families played at the playground next to a switched off fountain and I lightly smiled at the scene, loving the sounds of the kids laughing as they chased each others.
“I’m so not a Winter girl. Just because I’m born in this season doesn’t mean I like it. I like your month. May is great. The nature is coming back to life, the sun shows itself again and it’s not night at four in the afternoon. I can’t wait to put my t-shirts back on.” She explained and I let a chuckle out.
“It’s a bit ironic for a Winter girl.” I told after a quiet snort.
Eva turned around, her head buried in her shoulders in an attempt to keep her warmth. She looked like a turtle trying to get back into her shell.
While Eva hated Winter, I loved it. The hot chocolates in bed, cozy under a plaid and watching a Christmas movie. Christmas magic in the air and the best holiday on the way. And I never minded that the setting of the sun was earlier than the rest of the year, I actually liked it.
Shivering loudly, Eva tightened her coat around her before looking at her phone again, checking how far from Jody’s house we were. I followed her through the park, trying to keep my mind from thinking too much – or at all, really – when she glanced at me, frowning.
“You’re okay?” She asked, a bit of concern in her voice.
“Yep. You?” I immediately replied, slightly raising my eyebrows to make it appear as though her question was surprising. Eva looked at me for a second too much, narrowing her eyes a little.
“Okay… I just wanted to make sure you were.” She half-accepted and didn’t push the topic, probably feeling that I wasn’t going to talk about it.
I didn’t even know myself if I wanted to talk about it or not, or even what to say on the matter. I just wanted to make it through the week-end.

Back to Jody’s place, I appreciated the warmth of her house and Eva let a loud and satisfied sigh out, clearly enjoying too. Quickly, my best friend hung her coat on the coat rack and took mine to put it there too. Then she locked the door behind us, putting the keys on the small piece of furniture next to the front door so Jody could open it when she got back.
I was amazed on how comfortable she was in this stranger’s place, already finding her feet somehow while I didn’t want to disturb anything in the house. But, the more Eva moved around the house, not sneaking into Jody’s stuff but simply looking around to discover her home and trying to get familiar with the place and the woman, the more I was starting to get used to the unknown house myself. At least slightly more comfortable.
After getting ourselves a glass of water, Eva reminded me that we had to make the beds for us and the brothers, so we went upstairs and searched through the wardrobe to get everything we needed. Standing up on the mattress, holding the quilt above my head while Eva was pulling at the quilt cover around it, we continued our conversation on the last Marvel movie that had just been released and how we would have to go see it back home. Apparently a certain Tom Hardy would make an appearance in it and I suddenly understood why she wanted to see this new movie so bad. Once we were done with our bed and were getting the pillows ready too, Eva’s phone rang, making her drop the pillow in her hands. The tall girl answered the call and brought the cellphone to her ear.
“Hey.” She started with a small smile on her lips. “Yeah we’re here… Oh right, okay, I’m coming.” She ended the call and turned to me, putting her phone back in her pocket.
“They’re here.” She declared and I followed her down the stairs, mentally preparing myself to face Sam.
Oh, how I hated feeling this way. So ridiculous.
Get it together, Emily!
Eva’s POV :
“Jody isn’t here?”
Was the first question Dean asked when he entered her house and I explained the brothers that an agent of hers had called and that they needed her help on something else. The Winchesters nodded and parted ways, Sam heading to the living room to sit on the sofa and already getting his laptop out of his bag; Dean on the other hand, walked directly towards the kitchen and I heard the fridge’s door open and close. A few seconds later, he came back with a beer bottle in his hand, uncapping it with his right hand. I liked seeing this. I didn’t even know why but I liked it. Dean took a few steps towards me and I felt my chest get warmer the closer to me he got. It was stupid how I was internally feeling when he stopped in front of me and asked if I needed anything. It took all my mental strength to not answer the first thing I had in mind – “you” – and simply shook my head, telling him I had a glass of water waiting for me in the living room. Nodding, he placed a gentle hand on the small of my back to lead me to the room and join Emily and his brother.
Once inside the living room, Dean sat down next to his brother who was typing on his open computer. Emily was standing at the entrance of the room and I stopped next to her before heading to one of the armchair around the coffee table. Emily sat in the other one next to me.
“So, did you find what you were looking for?” I asked while Dean took a sip of his drink.
“It’s a djinn for sure. The vic shows all the signs of being drained for about a week. The intravenous drip wasn’t clean, it most likely that it was done by someone who isn’t familiar with medical methods.” Sam explained, his eyes still on focused on the screen before him and I felt myself frown, feeling the needle in my arm.
“Or someone who doesn’t care about doing it safely and clean. Like a djinn.” Dean added and I nodded.
“And do you think the same thing happened to the other missing persons?” Emily asked and Sam raised his head to answer her.
“Djinns rarely make only one victim and from the numbers of disappearance in such a short time, it’s most likely that they were taken by the same monster.”
“So what do we do now? I mean, once you found out what kind of monster is responsible, what’s the next step?” I asked, curious to know what was the process of a hunt.
“Well, if we’re familiar with the monster, we usually have what we need in the trunk. If it’s something we’ve never came across before, we look through the lore and search for what would kill them. I usually take care of this.” Sam finished, sending a dark look to his brother who took another sip of this beer, not seeming to care much about what his brother was implying.
I let a light chuckle out.
“So we know what to use against djinns, right? You encountered one before, didn’t you?” I asked even though I was pretty sure they had, they talked about this monster like they were familiar with it. The brothers shared a look before Sam answered my question.
“Yeah. We met more than one.” He simply said and when my eyes drifted to Dean who seemed to remember something for a second. I made a mental note to ask him later.
“A silver knife dipped in lamb’s blood kills the bastard.” Dean declared and I nodded, silently wondering why that was what killed them.
“And you have some of that in your trunk?” Emily asked, probably questioning her company and I felt her. If we truly thought about it, those guys were weird, keeping endless weapons and lamb’s blood in the trunk of their car.
“Yep.” Dean said and Emily and I shared a look, silently agreeing that those men were another level of strange.
“Right. So, Zach’s body has been degraded by the water it was found into, erasing any clue we could have needed to have a location. We could think the place where he was held captive was clammy but it’s probably just to cover their tracks. Most of the times djinns choose a quiet, private and away place so they aren’t bothered by anyone.” Sam explained and it sounded like any serial killer’s hide-house.
“Like an old, abandoned factory.” A feminine voice suddenly interrupted and I flinched, Emily and I slightly gasping at the same time at Jody’s quiet come back. The sheriff got a smile at our reaction and entered the living room, a plastic bag in her left hand.
“Pretty much, yeah. Do you have anything like this in Sioux Falls?” Sam asked her and she let a small sigh out.
“Yes. But we’ve already searched the place, hoping to find Hailey and Charles there, ideally alive, but there was no one there. Just a few empty cans, some destroyed devices and graffiti on the walls.” Jody explained, some deception in her voice and Sam straightened, opening his laptop a little wider.
“Well, something else must exist. Another factory, an underground passage or an abandoned house. There must be a place where they keep them.” The younger brother declared, ready to find out where those poor people were trapped.
“Did you guys eat?” Jody suddenly asked and Sam didn’t even raised his head when he answered.
“Not hungry.”
At his sentence, Dean’s stomach growled in disapproval and he placed a hand on his belly, trying to reduce the sound. Sending an apologizing look to Jody and offering her an awkward smile, I couldn’t help but find him absolutely adorable. Even if he was still wearing this damn suit that made him look way more than adorable…
“I take this as a no. Well, I’ve grabbed something on the way so put this computer aside and help me set the table.” The older woman announced and the tallest man mumbled something, still not moving from the couch, the laptop on his knees.
“Sam Winchester. Put this laptop away, go change and come eat before you pass out on us. You’re not gonna fight monsters on an empty stomach.” Jody repeated, her voice a bit deeper and more serious. I couldn’t describe it any other way, it sounded like a ‘mom voice’.
At her tone, Sam raised his head and closed his laptop before placing it on the coffee table before him. I couldn’t help but stare at him for a second, astonished to not see him argue with her and when I turned my head towards my best friend, she seemed as stupefied as I was. From the short time – well, months – that we knew the Winchesters, Sam wasn’t one to back down or do something he didn’t want to do. And Dean had personally explained to me how his little brother didn’t even listen to him sometimes and only did as he pleased.
Maybe being a mom gave super-powers after all.

While Jody turned on the oven to heat up the lasagna – that looked insanely good – that she had picked up on her way home, Emily and I stood awkwardly between the dining room and the kitchen while the boys explained to Jody what they had discovered. She had pretty much found the same thing and knew where those monsters usually hid and it was crazy how normal it was to talk about those things for them. How comfortable and casual they were to debate on whether they were one or multiples to manage kidnapping those people. Emily and I shared a few looks during their conversation, having nothing to add but still carefully listening to them.
We didn’t know what to do with ourselves and it was probably showing.
Still talking about the case, Jody opened one of her closets and pulled five plates out of it, placing them on the counter in front of her. Then she opened a drawer and grabbed the cutlery we were gonna need. Her hands full of crockery Jody turned around and faced the brothers, the younger one not interrupting his guesses on the case when Jody handed them the plates.
“Here. Take a break and set the table. Please.” Jody asked and Sam grabbed the plates, stopping his thinking out loud but it was clear that he wasn’t finished with his mental researches.
At Jody’s request, Emily and I jumped from our spot and immediately joined the brothers to help them set the table, finally making ourselves useful. Once everything was on the table, Jody opened the oven and grabbed the scorching hot dishes while I picked up some glasses in a closet and gave some to Emily. Following the sheriff into the dinning room, she put the dish on the table and we handed a glass to each person at the table.
Sitting next to Emily, I chose the seat closest to Jody, therefore facing Sam while my best friend was sitting in front of Dean. I offered to serve everyone but Jody quickly stopped me, declaring that we were her guests. Sam wondered out loud where the victims could be while Jody placed a large slice of lasagna in Dean’s plate, the youngest brother wondering if it was possible to get access to the blueprints of the buildings of the town.
“Sam, no talk about work during dinner. I wanna find them too, you know I do. But let’s talk about something else while we eat.” Jody declared and I could see the frustration on the tall man’s face, not really happy to not be able to continue working on this case for now.
Then the dark-haired woman turned to me and asked how much lasagna I wanted.
“Hum, not much thank you. I’m not very hungry.” I answered a bit shy, not wanting to say no to the food she had kindly brought us. But she suddenly raised her eyebrows a little as though she had just realized something.
“Oh, right! You ate not that long ago.” She said and I nodded, confirming her thought. “Did you go to Botski’s?” She asked, a light smile on her face.
“Yes, it was really nice, you were right.” I told her and her smile widened. I didn’t know if she was happy to hear good things about this place from us or if she was glad we’d left and had a good time.
“What did you try there?” She added and looked behind me, at Emily.
“The bagels. They were really good.” My best friend said and I nodded in agreement.
“Wait. You left the house?” Dean’s voice suddenly interrupted us, his voice louder than our conversation.
I shyly turned my eyes towards him, nervous to see his disapproval. His eyes were focused and a bit hard. I gulped and nodded, playing with my hands under the table, my heart beating a bit faster in my chest as he furrowed his eyebrows, clearly not liking my answer.
“What?” Sam voice joined his brother’s, the disapproval and unhappiness clear on his features, making him even more intimidating than usual.
“Are you crazy? What if something had happened to you? What if the djinn had decided to pick you for its next victims?” Dean asked, his voice loud with worry and care but the veil of anger in his tone and the idea of the monster picking us made my stomach tighten and eye-contact impossible.
I timidly looked at Emily at the corner of my eyes and I could see that she was holding back, her breath was high in her lungs and she stood straighter than usual, her jaws clenching lightly. She was ready to retort something if he continued with this tone. My only explanation to her lack of comeback to Dean was that she didn’t want to yell in a stranger’s house, otherwise she would have already replied something in the lines of being free to do whatever she wanted. But Jody was faster and quickly cut Dean off.
“Hey! I did. I let them leave the house how they wanted to. It’s you two who decided to leave them all alone. So if you didn’t want them to be left alone, you shouldn’t have left without them. Did you expect them to patiently wait for you two to come back, quietly and motionless? Well, that ain’t working for me. They’re big girls and can take care of themselves. They did before they even knew you two and I think they handle it pretty well. So why don’t you trust them a little?” Jody defended us and my heart grew a bit bigger, appreciating her help.
“Wha- We trust them, it’s the monsters we don’t trust. And you know how dangerous it is, you’re the one who called us. They should have at least tell u-” Dean argued, his ‘they’ echoing as a ‘you’ meant for me.
I so should have sent that text…
“Dean Winchester. I wasn’t going to keep them prisoners in my own house. Calm down, they just went out for a bagel. You know me, if I was truly scared about their safety, I wouldn’t have left them alone. And if you’re not happy with this, maybe you shouldn’t have left without them.” Jody declared, putting an end to the discussion.
I dared look at Dean, the frustration to not being able to continue this argument and the discontent clear on his face, and the only thing I wanted was to apologize. Then I stole a glance at Sam who hadn’t said a whole word but his dark gaze said it all, making me unable to look at him either. So, the safest option and the most comforting one was my best friend whose face looked both stoic and embarrassed. I had no doubt that she was a bit uncomfortable that Jody had defended us that way, and I was too. But I could see in her slightly clenched jaws that she was frustrated to not be able to shoot back at Dean’s reaction.
Staring at my plate, I awkwardly played with the food, picking it with my fork and moving some salad leaves aside, hoping that the heavy air in the room was going to quickly dissolve while millions of apologizes burnt to escape my lips.
Emily’s POV :
I thought I was going to explode.
Even if I deeply wanted to retort that they had no say in what we could or couldn’t do, I wasn’t going to make Jody uncomfortable by arguing in her own house, at her dinner table. And even though it was very nice of her to defend us the way she had, I couldn’t help but feel bad that she did so. The last thing I wanted was to put her in a difficult position, even more because of us. Because of me.
But soon after putting an end to the topic of Eva and I leaving for lunch, Jody changed the subject. By asking some lighter questions and mentioning a certain Donna’s fishing trip with her boyfriend, Jody brought back a better mood, much to my best friend’s delight whose gears I could practically hear in my own head.
The boys’ unhappiness of our departure started to disappear too but every time I caught a glance at Sam’s gaze, even for the shortest second, the desire to make clear that we were free to do whatever we wanted came back twice as hard. The black look he was giving me every few times our eyes met made me want to glare back at him and face his disapproval. To ask him what his problem was. To made him say out loud what he was really thinking and the reason behind his silent glare. To make him express his aggravation so I could let out my own irritation. But I couldn’t. Not at Jody’s place.
So, in order to both keep my composure and my frustration at bay, I tried to not look at him but even when I succeeded, I could still feel his gaze on me. A gaze I couldn’t help but notice, even though I was forcing my whole mind and body to ignore it. A gaze I wanted to face all day long. A gaze I couldn’t help but enjoy, probably more than I should have.
“Sure. You know that if she needs help she can always call us, we’ll be there. Right, Sammy?” Dean’s voice suddenly brought me back to the conversation going on.
At his mention, my eyes locked with the youngest Winchester’s for a short second before he looked at Dean. He mustn't have paid much attention to the conversation either because he slightly frowned and asked.
“What?”
Dean quickly looked from his brother to me as though something was suspicious and I raised my eyebrows in an attempt to kill whatever thoughts he was having. Probably getting the hint, he finally looked at Sam.
“That Claire can call us if she needs help on a hunt.” Dean repeated what we both hadn’t heard.
“Yeah, sure.” Sam nodded, agreeing with the idea but I was sure that everyone could see in the gesture of his head that he wasn’t fully thinking about it. No one paid attention at the detached tone he used in his response and his eyes found mine again when he finished his answer.
Something warm appeared in my stomach and before I could think anything about it Jody asked if we wanted a desert, the happy squeal of Dean at the mention of pie bringing me back to Earth.
Tumblr media
Once the last slice of pie was served and eaten by the glutton in front of me, Jody got up and grabbed the empty plate of lasagna.
Immediately, Eva and I followed her lead, taking the empty plates and cutlery and bringing them to the kitchen to put the dishes in the sink. Sam cleared the used glasses off the table while his brother put the drinks back in the fridge. Then the tall Winchester disappeared at the corner of the kitchen without a word, leaving us with Jody who started to roll up her sleeves.
“Wait, Jody, I’m gonna do the dishes.” Eva quickly interrupted her, reaching the sink before the sheriff could.
“Oh, you know you don’t have to.” Jody replied at the offer and my best friend shook her head.
“It’s fine, really. You invited us, the least we can do is help you out.” Eva explained and I joined her in front of the turned off faucet, agreeing with her.
“I’ll wipe the dishes.” I said, next to my best friend and Jody smiled.
“Well, thank you, girls. It’s very nice of you.” She declared, sending a knowing and dark look to the hunter still in the kitchen. Dean slightly looked at the ceiling as though he hadn’t heard and exited the room too, leaving us alone with Jody for the second time of the day.
“Thank you very much for dinner Jody, it was incredibly good.” Eva started the conversation as she washed a first plate. I grabbed the dish towel resting on the drawer, getting ready for when she was finished with it.
“I’m glad you liked it. Marco’s lasagna are the best, I can’t make them as good as he can.” Jody said and I smiled at her comment before taking the cleaned plate Eva was handing me.
The sheriff cleaned her kitchen counter, putting the few things on them in their right place and Eva took care of another plate. Once I was finished with mine I looked around, trying to find out where to put them and Jody joined my side.
“Here. I’ll put them away.” She said and I gave her the dish, thanking her and she knelt in front of a closet on my right.
“I’m gonna invite you more often if you clean this well. Claire and Alex aren’t really fond of doing the dishes.” She joked when straightening and Eva and I chuckled.
“Well we’re used to it, we don’t have a dishwasher back home. And it’s actually usually this way. I wash and Emily dries.” Eva explained and Jody smiled.
“I see that everything is in order. You two are a great team then.” She declared and Eva and I shared a look, a smile on our lips.
“Yeah.” I answered and Eva gave me another plate, winking at me before going back to her washing.
Then Eva gave me a third plate when Dean reappeared in the kitchen.
“Hey, Eva, do you have an extra phone charger for me by any chance?” He asked, leaning against a closet and my friend raised her head to look at him.
“Hum, no, I only have mine. Sorry.” She answered, her voice not as assured as usual, as though she wasn’t totally comfortable in this very moment.
“Can I borrow it?” He asked and she nodded her head, looking back at her hands squeezing the sponge.
“Sure, no problem. It’s in my bag upstairs.” She explained him and gave me another plate without meeting my eyes.
“Could you show me? I don’t know which bag is yours.” He said and I frowned. I was pretty sure he knew which bags were whose by now. I looked at my best friend again and felt her nervousness. I hated that.
“It’s the gray one, next to the bed closest to the door.” She answered and he moved away from the closet.
“Eva.” He said and she raised her head to look at him, leaving the dishes behind. “Do you mind showing me?” He repeated and even I had understood he wanted to talk to her alone. And as though she had suddenly understood it too, she raised her eyebrows.
“Oh.” She turned off the water. “Hum, sure.”
Eva turned towards me to borrow the dish towel so she could dry her hands and gave me a quick look. I frowned at her timid behavior and before I could try anything about it, she stepped away and turned to Jody.
“Sorry, I’ll be right back.” She declared and Jody stopped her with a movement of her hand.
“Don’t worry, Honey. I’ll take your place, it’s fine.” The woman replied and Eva nodded, shyly smiling before she followed the older Winchester out of the kitchen, leaving me with Jody.
Looking at Eva leaving, something tightened in my chest and it took everything in me to not just follow her. I just couldn’t stand seeing my best friend uneasy like that. I didn’t know what Dean wanted to talk to her about but she seemed nervous about it; and I sure hoped he wasn’t going to do or say anything stupid or I was going to have to punch him in the face.
I felt myself straightening as I remained alone with Jody. Of course I had seen that she was welcoming and friendly, but she was still a stranger to me and I didn’t feel comfortable with people I didn’t know. Even with the ones I knew. Sometimes. And finding myself alone with her meant I would be the one talking with her. I would be the one she would ask her questions to. And I was far from ready for that.
Jody turned on the faucet again and started to clean the rest of the dishes, the silence around us way more appreciated by me than the potential questions she could have. But unfortunately, the silence didn’t stay long.
“So, Sam told me you’re a doctor.” Jody broke the silence and after tensing at the mention of the younger Winchester, I realized her question was about my career. Something I was way more comfortable talking about.
“Yes, I’ve been working at the ER for a while now. It’s pretty intense but I’ve always wanted to be a doctor.” And it was the truth. As far as I could remember, I had wanted to be a doctor. To help people, heal them, helping them get better. Understanding the human body and learning about it. Making a difference.
“Oh I’m sure it is. One of my girls, Alex, she’s a nurse at the hospital. And I know it’s not the same thing but she’s always exhausted after being on duty all night.” She explained and I nodded, taking the next cleaned plate.
“Being on duty is exhausted for sure and for all the health care personnel. But even when not working at the hospital, nurses have a pretty exhausting job as it is.” I told her and I appreciated to hear the tone of my own voice, the honeyed and timid one slowly replaced by my natural voice’s timbre.
“That’s true. Does being a doctor run in your family?” She then asked, adding some dish soap on the sponge.
“No. But my mom’s a nurse.” I told her and Jody looked at me, a smile on her face.
“Really? She must be really proud of you. Everyone, actually. Being a doctor is such an admirable job. And from what I’ve heard, you’re a remarkable one.” She declared and I felt myself blushing. I quickly looked away from her gaze, uncomfortable at her kind words in my regards.
“Thank you.” I shyly said and knelt to put the last plate at its place, using this action as an excuse to be away for a second. To be able to take a breath.
“You have a very laudable profession too, you know. And not an easy one.” I told her, trying to steer the conversation towards her rather than me.
“You’re being kind.” She chuckled and I smiled at her, meaning my words. “But thank you.”
Afraid that she would ask another question, I decided to take action and wondered about her daughters.
“So, hum, your daughter Alex is a nurse. What does Claire do?” I asked and I didn’t understand Jody’s expression for a second. She seemed almost surprised but quickly, a smile appeared at the corner of her mouth when she looked at me again.
“Well, I try to get her into college, learn about anything she wants but she doesn’t feel that way.” She sighed, rinsing the cutlery before giving them to me. “She’d rather hunt and it’s not that I’m against the idea. Or maybe I am… the only thing is that she isn’t being careful yet, she’s too young and too inexperienced. And of course she’s too stubborn to want help. At least not from me.” She explained and I felt bad for Jody. She seemed to try so hard to keep them safe, it must be difficult to see their child doing something dangerous everyday.
“I just worry about her.” She finally said and I nodded.
If I had decided to go crazy and become a hunter, I had no doubt my parents would have been worried to death too.
“But enough about this.” Jody quickly said before I could reply anything. “The boys told me you and Eva were roommates. Where do you live again?”
I wanted to try and reassure her, even though I had never been really good at this but she quickly changed of topic. And even if I was willing to go pass my discomfort of personal confessions to try and help her out, I respected her desire to not talk about it. If I was trying to change of topic, I would like her to follow my lead too. So I answered her question.
“Topeka, in Kansas. We’ve been living together for a few years now, actually. We had talked about this as a dream since forever but we actually did it after I graduated.” I told her, remembering the late night conversation in our beds at our childhood houses, talking about the apartment we would share. Me dreaming about the window walls and Eva already imagining our sexy neighbors. She had been quiet disappointed when she met Mrs McCarthy instead of two handsome guys she would have declared ‘perfect for us’.
“It’s not easy to actually live your friend, even when you get along with them. But you two seem to pull it off very well.” Jody said with a smile and I nodded, agreeing with her.
“Yeah, I was a bit worried about this, actually. We were spending all of our time together, but it’s not the same as living with them 24/7. But we tried it and now we’ve found our own balance, so it’s great. And with our work, we can also have our own alone time.” I explained, silently asking her where to put the cutlery and Jody pointed to a drawer next to me.
“I’ve been with a roommate too, but during college. It was a long time ago, now.” Jody joked and I laughed at her comment. I didn’t know her age but I was sure she wasn’t as old as she pretended.
Trying to not think about it too much, I took a short second to appreciate how comfortable I was starting to while speaking with her. Maybe it was something that emanated from her or maybe the topic we were talking about, but I enjoyed how less tensed I was starting to be.
“Where you sharing a flat with friends?” I asked, wanting to know more about her and her time as a roommate. And she seemed to appreciate my question as she smiled.
“I’ve done both, actually. I started with two friends and it went pretty well until they moved away. Then I had to find new roommates, it’s more convenient to share a flat when you’re a student.” Jody explained and I agreed with her. Having a roommate both have bad and good sides and while I hadn’t thought about it, Eva had pointed out how financially better it was than when we had our own apartments.
“So after a few months alone, I decided to open the apartment to anyone willing to share a flat. That’s how I met one of my greatest friends, actually.” Jody continued and I smiled at her story.
“Wow, that’s great. I would have never been able to share a flat with a stranger. I admire you for doing that.” I told her, meaning it and she smiled again, both at my comment and the memories obviously coming to her mind.
“I was a bit scared, not everyone around me thought it was a great idea but it turned out pretty well. Sometimes you have to take that scary step to have something great happening to you.” She declared and something strange tightened in my chest at her words. She sent me a look I couldn’t quite understand and I wasn’t sure I wanted to.
Before I could say anything back, I felt my body slightly tensing on its own before a voice resonated in the room.
“Found it. I know where they’re hiding. I tell Dean and we’re ready to go.” Sam declared before I could see him and I slightly turned my head to look at him. His eyes found mine for a second before he looked at Jody again.
“Alright, I’ll get my things.” She said, turning the faucet off and drying her hands before she left the room. Sam sent me another look before joining her.
I hadn’t even realized I had trouble breathing correctly before I was left alone in the kitchen.
What the hell was happening to me?
Eva’s POV :
Making sure to leave the door opened behind me, I knelt besides my bed and grabbed the grey bag at the foot of it. Searching for my phone charger, I heard the door slam, making me slightly jump in the process. But what really startled me was Dean’s sudden loud voice.
“Have you lost your mind?” He strongly asked and I quickly raised to my feet and took a step back, taken aback by the sudden sharpness of his tone.
“Wha-what?” I stuttered, not understanding the sternness of his features.
“What were you thinking leaving this house? Do you realize how stupid and dangerous that was?” Dean questioned again, his voice rough and his eyebrows furrowed.
He wasn’t yelling, but it was just like it. My heart hammered in my chest when I understood we hadn’t come up here to take a phone charger but so he could let me know of his disapproval, away from everyone. I had already felt guilty at the dinner table, intensely regretting the choice made to leave this place. But after Jody’s talk and the way we had changed of topic, I had hoped that we had all moved on. Of course I would have had my own guilt to deal with but it would have calmed down eventually. It just needed a little time. But knowing that Dean was still mad at me about it wasn’t going to help for sure.
“I- We-… It was just…” I tripped over my words, incapable of thinking at the moment.
A part of me knew we hadn’t done anything wrong per say. Emily and I had talked about it, she had reassured me at the diner. And there was Jody. Their friend and sheriff of the town had declared that we could leave her house if we wanted. She had only asked for us to be careful. And we had been.
“We’re not here on vacation, this a case. A hunting job. There are djinns in this town kidnapping and killing people. And you go out for a bagel? Without telling me?” Dean continued, his voice strong and his brows almost touching each other.
“I… Jody said it was okay to go out. She just said to be careful.” I finally said, trying to justify myself and I hated how childish I sounded.
Dean let out a scoff at this and shook his head, looking at the ceiling for a short second before looking back at me.
“To be careful? And how careful have you been, huh? Do you even know what djinns do? I’ll tell you.” He started, his face closed and upset.
“Dean.” I tried to interrupt him. The last thing I wanted was to hear about some scary story. I knew we weren’t there for pleasure, I didn’t need a reminder. But as though he hadn’t heard me, Dean continued.
“All they need is one little touch and you go sleeping beauty, trapped in a perfect fucking dream life you never wanna leave. And during this time? They drain you from all your blood until you die. That’s what you want?” He raised his voice, taking one more step towards me and my throat clenched, my stomach tightening at his words.
I was gonna throw up.
“No! Of course not. Stop it, please!” I let out and turned away from him for a second. My throat still in knots, I could feel my blood quickly pounding in the veins of my neck. Dean didn’t move and thankfully, he stopped talking too, giving me some time to think. I took a shaky breath and looked at the floor, trying to regain some courage before talking again.
“I’m sorry.” I started, already feeling a bit lighter by just saying the words. “We were careful, Dean.” I said turning back to him, my voice quiet and as calm as possible, hoping the tone I’d use would make his calmer too. And would slow down my speeding heart. “Jody… Jody said to call her if we had a problem.” I continued and Dean immediately cut me off, jumping at my words and taking a step towards me.
“No. No, no, no. Something happens to you, you call me. Not Jody. Me!” Dean shouted and my heart jumped in my chest.
“I call you, Dean!” I said back, closing my eyes for a moment and I could feel my own voice breaking a little. I took a deep breath, my eyebrows furrowing as I poorly tried to keep my emotions under control. I raised my head and Dean’s face softened when our eyes met. “I call you. When Emily was missing, you’re the one I called. Not the police. You. If I’m in troubles, I would call you.” I reminded him, looking in his eyes.
“And you don’t have to try and scare me with all the horrible details, I’m already scared as it is. Don’t worry.” I let out, falling on the bed behind me and played with my hands in a nervous gesture. I could see the tips of Dean’s boots in my peripheral vision as silence remained in the room for a moment. Then I added. “I know you’re mad at me but please… Stop yelling.” I asked, closing my eyes at my request.
I hated this. I hated this so much. I didn’t want him to yell, I didn’t want him to be mad at me. I just… If only I had send this stupid text message…
I heard Dean faintly sigh in front of me before feeling the bed lowering next to me. Dean’s arm brushed against mine as he sat by my side and somehow I could breath a little more easily.
“I’m not mad… I’m worried.” Dean declared and something heavy left my chest at his words. I raised my head to look at him and he continued. “Sweetheart, I don’t want anything happening to you or Emily because of a stupid bagel.” He declared, his voice calmer and his eyes softer.
“I know… I know. I don’t want that either, you know.” I told him, looking away for a moment and stared at my hands on my lap. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you but, Jody didn’t seem worried and we’ve been careful. I’m always careful.” I said and Dean put his hand on my thigh and I hadn’t even realized I was shaking it. I felt it calm down under his warm palm and took a quiet breath. My heart calmed down, my throat and stomach relaxed too and I felt a bit more like myself.
“I know, you’re careful, Eva. That’s not this I’m worried about.” He started and I bit my lip. “Listen, you just don’t know what it’s like to be under a djinn’s spell, okay. I do.” He confessed and I raised my head to look at him, surprise in my eyes.
I knew something had happened to him in relation to those monsters. I opened my mouth to ask questions, feeling like myself again, wanting to know more about what had happened. But Dean must have sensed that I was gonna ask questions and shook his head.
“Not now, please.” He asked and I closed my mouth, respecting his choice. I hoped that one day, he would tell me about this too. “Just… Promise me you’ll text me next time. Just let me know those kind of things. I don’t say I’ll be happy about it but…” He didn’t finish his sentence but I knew what he meant.
“But at least you’ll know. Got it.” I said, nodding. And I meant it, I got it.“I’m sorry, Dean, I didn’t mean to worry you.” I said seriously, finally holding his gaze and he gave me a light smile. I felt his thumb moving on my leg in a reassuring gesture and I tried to give him his smile back.
“And I’m sorry I yelled.” He said, searching my eyes and I appreciated it. This time I felt my smile reached my eyes.
Then Dean playfully pushed my shoulder with his, a smirk on his face, and all the previous tension in the room disappeared. “Was it good at least?” He asked, raising his eyebrows in curiosity and I frowned.
“Was what good?” I asked back and Dean tucked his chin at my question.
“Well, your bagel, of course.” He replied and my face relaxed in realization, a little smile taking place on my lips. Seeing his soft features made it all so much easier.
“Oh, yes. Jody gave us a very good address. I’m sure you would have loved it.” I told him, my grin widening at the change of topic.
“I’ll have to give it a try then. Even though I’m more of a burger kind of guy.” He declared with some pride in his voice, probably loving his own tastes and I chuckled at his face.
“Yeah, I noticed.” I told him with a smile, locking eyes with him.
Looking into each other’s eyes, it felt like all argument and tension had never happened. The silence surrounding us wasn’t heavy or stressful anymore but calm and quiet. Staring into his green orbs, my smile lightly faded and I felt the air shift around us. I wanted to know what had happened. I wanted to tell him I was having a really hard time keeping everything from Emily. I wanted to tell him I wasn’t enjoying hiding it. Hiding us. I wanted to tell him… I wanted…
Something was suddenly different and I felt my body moving closer to his on its own. As if pulled by an invisible strength, I turned my body towards his and his eyes fell on my lips before finding my irises again. My heart fastened when he lowered his head towards me, placing his hand on the side of my head and I ached to feel his lips on mine again. I closed my eyes in anticipation, felt his nose bumping into mine before his lips brushed against mine.
“Dean!” Sam’s voice from downstairs made me slightly jumped, breaking the moment and Dean sighed in front of me, resting his forehead on mine as he closed his eyes.
“I’m gonna kill him.” He whispered against my lips and I chuckled at his annoyance.
Then Dean straightened and moved away from me but kept a hand around my waist. Sighing again, he pinched his lips.
“What!” He screamed back to his brother and I cursed at his yell, turning my head away so he wouldn’t yell in my ear again. Surely, screaming from one room to another wasn’t the most enjoyable for ears. But apparently the brothers didn’t mind because Sam yelled back.
“Found it!”
Dean raised his eyebrows at Sam’s words and our eyes met. He must have found where the djinns were hiding. Where the victims were held captive.
“The hiding place?” He asked as to make sure they were talking about the same thing and Sam confirmed his thoughts.
“Yep. Now get your ass down here, we got to go.” Sam declared and he was right, if they knew where the djinns were hiding they needed to leave as soon as possible.
Dean stared at the door for a second then looked at me again. Searching my eyes for a moment, I didn’t know what he was looking for. But they couldn’t wait another minute here when people were in danger, I knew that. So, I patted his chest gently before moving him away.
“Go.” I simply told him and he nodded, standing up. I mimicked his movements and followed him to the door. But a tiny pressure appeared in my stomach and I needed to be sure of something before he left.
“Dean?” I stopped him, grabbing his wrist. The hunter turned towards me, eyebrows raised.
“What?” He asked and I slightly frowned.
“We’re good, right?” I shyly asked and Dean smiled at me, this simple expression easing everything.
“Of course we are. Now, come on.” He declared, grabbing my hand and leading me in the hallway.
Emily’s POV :
Dean and Eva went down the stairs and it felt like a breath of fresh air to see her. Not knowing what to do with myself between Sam and Jody once he had found out where the monsters were hiding, I was glad to see the familiar and comforting face of my best friend. And apparently, she seemed more relaxed than when she had left the kitchen. I was glad to see this and when her eyes found me, she offered me a wide smile, walking to me and confirming my thoughts.
“So, where are they?” Dean asked as he walked down the last steps.
“An old factory outside of town. The police department had already searched it, but didn’t found anything. But I had a feeling. So I looked it up and found the blueprints of it. Apparently, there’s a hidden basement in the left wing of the building. I’m sure they’re here.” Sam explained and I couldn’t help but feel a bit strange at the mention of the blueprints. This man could truly get any information he wanted.
Eva finally stood next to me, listening to the younger brother and I felt her head landing on my shoulder for a second. An affectionate gesture I appreciated. Then she put a light and discreet kiss on my sweater and I smiled at her when she straightened. I didn’t know the actual reason behind her loving gesture but silently enjoyed it.
“The original way to the basement ‘s been clogged, that’s why the police didn’t find it. But I’m sure they’re there. It’s quite, away from everything and everyone, in the dark. It’s the perfect location for them.” Sam continued, showing the blueprints as he talked and Dean nodded, not even doubting his brother’s theories.
“Alright. Let’s check it out, then.” The older hunter declared and Sam stood up from the couch, closing his laptop and putting it on the coffee table.
Jody, Sam and Dean, all three started to move around the living room, taking their coats, grabbing their keys, checking their guns. Preparing everything they needed to face the monsters they were heading to while we stood there.
“So, how can we help?” I asked, not wanting to be benched or locked in this house again.
But as soon as the question slipped from my lips, Sam raised his eyebrows at me and I stared at him. I knew we weren’t hunters but I was growing tired of being useless in this case and wanted to help them out. After all, there were people in danger and I wanted to help save them.
“No, you’re not coming.” Sam stated, understanding what I meant with my question. “This is way too dangerous and you aren’t prepared for this. So you’re staying here.” He declared and I hated him in this very second. I didn’t let anyone boss me around and tell me what to do. But as I was about to respond something, I met his gaze and shut my mouth. I didn’t know how he had managed to do that but I hated it. I hated him.
“We just wanna help you on this.” Eva tried, backing me up. I both loved her for this and hated how it made me feel like I couldn’t argue myself.
“We know. But it’s way too dangerous and you’re not hunters. We don’t want you getting hurt, that’s all.” He repeated and I clenched my jaws.
It had better not become the new excuse to everything.
“He’s right on this one, girls. I’m sorry.” Jody declared, incapable of supporting us in this argument. I knew she meant well but in this moment I just hated how everyone was babying us.
“Alright, let’s go.” Dean said, putting an end to all this and I glared at him too. But as though he was more open to discussion than earlier that day, he sighed and tilting his head. “We’ll call you if we need help, but for now, you stay here.” He said with a rapid smile and I rolled my eyes at his face.
All of them walked to the front door, Dean holding it so Jody could step out of the house first. Then Sam readjusted his jacket and sent me a look. A look that could both mean ‘Stay here. I’m serious.’ and ‘Stay safe.’ But I kept sending him a dark look, still upset to having to stay here again. Sam slightly clenched his jaws and I enjoyed the idea of annoying him, an imperceptible smile on my face.
Then he started to leave the house too but before he could fully step outside, Eva stopped him.
“Guys.” She called and both of them turned to look at her. “Be careful.” She asked and they nodded in sync, Sam leaving immediately after while Dean gave us another look.
“Lock behind us.” He declared and closed the door, leaving Eva and I alone again.
My best friend let out a sigh next to me and I turned to her, shaking my head when our eyes met.
“I hate them.” I told her and in this moment, I meant it. Eva chuckled, knowing what I meant and went to the door to lock it.
We were going to wait. Here. Again.
Ugh.

On why conservatives don't get to have their wish fulfillment media
I've been thinking a lot lately about why online discourse around any kind of media is so incendiary these days. Why is there so much outrage about every single new thing that comes out? Don't get me wrong, it's always been this way to an extent but it really seems to have gone into overdrive lately. And the focal point of it all, at least for the past few weeks, seems to be Barbie. Why is a movie about a doll for little girls making so many adult men upset? Well, there's many reasons(a lot of them very stupid in nature) but to put it bluntly, it's because a lot of people are upset that it doesn't pander to them. More importantly, they are upset that it panders to someone else. As do most movies. Somewhere along the way, the English-language media landscape has shifted to completely exclude things a certain demographic wants to see.
Of course, much of it can be explained by things like demographic shifts and society as a whole changing over time. But not all of it. In the last few decades, it seems like we've completely changed our approach to how we consume and interpret media. Instead of taking its themes and messages on their own terms, we look at how they apply to and influence the real world. Instead of shutting up and enjoying the ride, we critique the morals of what is presented, and how they reflect on whoever made it. Which completely shuts down a lot of violent wish fulfillment media. Most specifically, the kind that conservatives enjoy. And I get it, I do. When they say that people these days no longer understand that "it's just a movie", they're not exactly wrong. But what they don't understand is that it's their own fault.
Let's take a look at Dirty Harry. In many ways, Clint Eastwood's character is the archetypal conservative action hero. Rude, ruthless, emotionally dulled, and willing to break any rules as long as it gets results. But does it? In the real world, it doesn't. But of course, movies aren't real. Dirty Harry succeeds because the script wants him to. He is in the right because the entire plot is a puzzle engineered for precisely such a character to slot right into it. And the people making it understood this. The movie's director, Don Siegel, whose views were diametrically opposed to the character's, didn't want to make a piece of social commentary. He wanted to make a cool action movie. Even Clint Eastwood, famously conservative, called it escapist wish fulfillment. Their expectations were simple, audiences were transported into a world were things worked differently, enjoyed their time, and went back to the real world. But that's not what happened. The audience broke the social contract. They never left the fantasy world behind. Hell, they could barely distinguish reality from fiction. Andrew Robinson got death threats aimed at the character he played, a fictional serial killer which never existed. And an entire generation of Americans grew up thinking that Dirty Harry was a character worthy of being emulated in the real world. And that's just one example. When Martin Scorsese made Taxi Driver, he probably knew some people were going to misunderstand his movie. I doubt he knew someone was going to misunderstand it so hard that they would go shoot the president so Jodie Foster will fall in love with them.
Over and over again, filmmakers, writers, even musicians had to relearn the same lesson: people have a hard time distinguishing fiction from reality. And the more conservative they are, the truer it is. So now most of us understand, creators carry a moral responsibility for the content of their work, and most audiences are willing to hold them responsible for that. So, if you are a conservative, please remember. Next time you insist that "it's just a movie", or "it's just a joke", it's not that we don't understand that. It's that you don't.

watching the scenes at the beginning of hello cruel world and knowing that between takes misha was vomiting and violently ill, to the point where jensen had to stop filming for the day... robert singer i am hunting you for SPORT
if sera gamble had been SMART what she should have done is to NOT fire misha but instead keep him around so that he could portray the leviathan throughout the season. she's all about the angst potential so i can't believe she didn't press that button--can you imagine having to fight something with the face of one of your best friends? or in dean's case, the face of someone that you might have [redacted]? but sera gamble was all about that firing, so alas, i am BEREFT
dean is going to pick that coat up and he's going to keep it in his trunk for the next eight months! he's going to do that! (cannot believe that this was supposed to the original end of castiel. sera gamble, i am also hunting you for sport)
s7 has the recurring theme of dean insisting that he's fine, as well as other people ORDERING him to BE fine. he clings to it until he meets cas again, where cas tells him that it's okay to feel things. he's not a machine. as always, cas is one of the few people who's able to see past all of dean's posturing and see beyond it to his real self. and he's willing to call dean out on it while extending him grace.
also kudos to jody because if i was high on pain meds and heard someone say "i'm dr sexy" i think I would have just burst out laughing and then i would have been murdered. "kiss my ass dr monster face" jody i am proposing marriage to you

Hollering over us hating something else yet again wkdjwjdjs because BANANAS (DEROGATORY). BANANAS!!! I CANNOT STAND THEIR TEXTURE AT ALL. HOW DO YOU JUST BITE INTO A BANANA AND ENJOY IT??? SPOILER ALERT: YOU DONT <3
JODI I ALWAYS KNEW YOU WERE GOOD PEOPLE WITH IMPECCABLE TASTE. LET US LIST ALL THE THINGS THAT ARE JUST OBJECTIVELY AWFUL ABOUT BANANAS:
The taste. Just overwhelming and bad. Blech.
The texture. It is SQUISHY and STRINGY and then sometimes they get spots on them and seriously GROSS WHY.
The smell. Again, overwhelming. You throw a banana peel away in the trash and it will haunt you for days. DAYS. If a banana crosses my doorstep and is thrown away in my trash I WILL take out the trash as soon as I can without being rude.
The fact you need to peel them. Seriously you are making me WORK to eat a fruit? And you might say "ok well oranges you ALSO have to peel, what's your problem with those?" Well, you see, you peel an orange, your hands have a delightful citrus scent, even if you don't do a perfect job of it. Don't do a perfect job peeling a banana? You have SQUISH all over your fingers and we have already established it SMELLS. And SQUISH. Maybe STRINGS.
ALSO the fact everyone INSISTS on putting bananas in smoothies!! I love smoothies! Love the fruity goodness! But I go get a smoothie, and 95% of the smoothies have bananas in them!! And then if I ask if I can get one without, they look at me like I'M the weird one!!! Ummmm, mix it up, man! Try some other fruits! Why are YOU so obsessed with bananas, you little potassium freak?!
Also ALSO the fact Gwen Stefani had that bananas song that NOBODY WOULD EVER STOP SINGING and it was ALWAYS stuck in my head which is just CRUEL when they're such terrible fruits. They are COCKY LITTLE SHITS and they TAUNT me because they have somehow convinced the world they're the supreme fruit and they are NOT. They are wolves in sheep's clothing aka POISON IN PEELS. They have been telling us this WHOLE TIME they are not to be trusted.
Literally the ONLY thing they are good for are comedy bits about using a banana phone. And frankly I think a pickle phone would be far funnier so 🤷‍♀️. Your fucking move, banana.
