are you going to read tsc when it comes out? and, if not: would you like your acolytes to give you the important kevin day updates or would you rather not?
oh my acolytes huh! well i don’t know :) it’s so nice of you to ask and i’m very touched actually…. nice to me 🥹…. i guess any (good) kevin updates would be nice and probably sway the balance on whether i read it or not, but at first glance i probably won’t read it unless it sparks my curiosity once it’s out and the story starts making its rounds around my circles :) i’m plenty interested in the period where jean stays with the foxes but i don’t much care for the trojans nor the proposed storyline*, though even a picky reader like yours truly can be convinced into buying a story if kevin day’s in it
*by this i don’t mean that i Dislike the process of jean healing but it’s just overall not my favorite theme and, to be frank, i don’t have much interest in reading about a normal well-adjusted team either. from my view tsc is aftg without my favorite parts (namely kevin day as a main character, the foxes’ messy dynamic, problematic and controversial side characters, neil’s narration, The Mafia, andrew in general) and while i am always and forever a ride or die for jean moreau, and i am glad he’s going to get better and be happy, a lot of my feelings for him don’t really stem from the idea that there is a softness underneath all the grit but actually and sincerely the fact that he is crazy. i Love jean because he’s horrible and scared and cruel and i don’t know if i’ll care much for him once he’s out of that state :) i meant it when i said a few months ago that i would’ve been more onboard with a story about the ravens (no matter how gruesome) or even a glimpse of jean’s pov in the nest, though of course nora sakavic should probably choose to be happy every once in a while so i wouldn’t ask her to write that
so tl;dr: you can send me good and relevant kevin updates if you want to and if they’re interesting enough i might read tsc in the future

Spotify prompt! Knuckles and tails, an 19 :)
Oh hoho! You managed to land FightSong by EVE (<- YouTube link), a song that by all rights shoulda been #2 (<- I refuse to pay Spotify money).
Hmm…. It’s been a while since I’ve done anything with Super Sonic Speed, but I always did intend to write follow-ups…
.•.•.•.
The city is unbelievably loud. They’re in what Sonic had called a shopping district, and it’s apparently very popular. Knuckles would kind of like to go home, a lot, actually, but Tails is flirting from one shop to another and he doesn’t have it in him to shut the kid down. Sonic is somewhere on the periphery of their little group— he and Tails had bonded, thick as thieves, and Knuckles— well, he tolerated the guy.
Tails gasps like he’s seeing the sun rise for the first time, excited enough that he’s lifting off the ground. Knuckles ambles over, grabs him by the ankle, and pulls him back down. He’s looking at some sort of… thing. Knuckles can’t make heads or tails of it, but it’s definitely saying something to Tails.
Hmm. He is, at least, familiar with the idea of shops. Chao liked to set them up, sometimes, selling fruit or handmade crafts for rings, but Knuckles has no idea if their idea of currency and everyone else’s aligns. Would the shopkeep accept a fruit? Most chao did. It isn’t like rings are a problem, so…
Knuckles turns, seeking out Sonic in the crowd. There he is— stiff as anything, glancing frantically back and forth between Knuckles and some other hedgehog, a pink one. One of his friends, maybe? They look irritated, maybe not. Knuckles steps away from Tails, invites himself into their conversation.
“and you just RAN OFF—“ the hedgehog is shouting. Sonic cracks his mouth open, a faint wheeze escaping.
“Hey,” Knuckles says.
“—do you have ANY IDEA how WORRIED I was—“
This looks like a battle Sonic is better off fighting on his own. Still, Knuckles needs his question answered. “Hey,” he repeats, slightly louder.
“—I mean, I knew you were alright because my cards said so, but—“
“Hey Knuckles,” Sonic manages to crack out, “this is Amy.”
Amy tilts her head at him, and then gives him a sharp, discerning once-over. “Are you one of his other friends?” She asks.
“Yeah, sure,” Knuckles says, and then “do rings work as currency down here?”
She blinks at him, as if this is a weird thing to ask. “Yes?” She says.
“Okay,” Knuckles says, nodding, “try not to scare him too bad.”
Any lingering confusion evaporates, and she whirls around to find Sonic trying to sneak away. “AGAIN!” she shouts, full of conviction, and Knuckles makes his way back to where he left Tails. He isn’t pressed up against the glass anymore, so Knuckles steps into the store. Yeah, there he is. Hovering— literally— over the same display.
Knuckles takes a moment to properly observe, rooting around for the terms Tails would use, in an attempt to ensure he gets the right thing. There’s a looping track, and a few other gadgets on the sides. A switch, one of them looks like, and some barricade, and a few blinking lights. On the track itself is a… sideways cylinder, set on wheels, connected to a few boxes, puffing out smoke— or steam, maybe. Tails is absorbed enough in watching it chug along that he doesn’t even realize Knuckles is standing right next to him. Knuckles’ll just have to make sure he comes up for air, occasionally.
He casts about the rest of the store, vaguely lost. There are a lot of displays, and a lot of colourful boxes. Knuckles picks up one, flips it over, and realizes swiftly he is out of his depth. He brings the box over to Tails, handing it to him. Tails holds onto it for a full few seconds, watching with bated breath as the cylinder switches tracks, before he looks down. His fur all along his spine puffs up, and he turns to look at Knuckles so fast he has to wonder if Sonic hasn’t started to rub off on him in more ways than one. That’s the right box, for sure.
“Really?” Tails asks, voice breathy with excitement, and Knuckles ruffles his fur instinctually.
“‘Course.”
Maybe the shopping district isn’t that bad.

loki season 2 spoilers ahead!!!
wow the loki season two finale hurt.
for his whole life loki has wanted nothing but to be known, to be a true god, to rule over everyone and be seen. but before that can even happen he gets taken away by the tva, told that his whole life is meaningless, basically disrupting his view of everything.
but then he helps mobius find sylvie. together, they reach the end of time. they kill he who remains, and loki finds himself back into a situation that’s completely unfamiliar to him. during his time at the tva, loki made friends and created meaningful connections—something that he never did in his past. and it’s finally when he has those connections that everything starts falling apart, that everything as he knows it is coming to an end. those special friends he made will all be lost if he doesn’t find a way to fix whatever’s going on.
he spends centuries learning everything there is to know about physics, just so he can fix the throughput as fast as possible. time and again he goes back, over and over until he’s satisfied that everything he’s done will work. but then it doesn’t, and he’s back to square one. he goes back to his fight with sylvie at the end of time, failing again and again at stopping her from killing he who remains. and then he learns that his only two options are to destroy the loom, causing a horrible war that would end everything, or killing sylvie and letting he who remains live, securing the sacred timeline. it’s an impossible choice, which is why it’s so much harder when he finally decides what he’s going to do.
either option would mean losing his friends as he knows them now, with everything they’ve gone through between them, so he makes his own choice. he sacrifices himself, letting his friends live in a universe where they don’t have to lose anything else.
loki, god of mischief, who was known to be brutal, deceiving and cruel, sacrifices himself for the good of all. he single handedly destroys the loom, killing all branches, but then revives every single one of them with his magic. he uses that same magic to create a space for himself where he will sit, for the rest of all time, keeping every branch alive inside a tree that was made from those very same timelines, and he’ll know that he made the right choice, fulfilling his glorious purpose.

I believe I have finally solved the problem of Surge and Kit’s existence in the Starpoint AU. 👏
I’ve figured out a way they can still be around (because I love them and want them to have a happier ending too). But not be brainwashed into being different people, and not be dramatically traumatized by Canon!Dr. Starline’s cruelty.
Spoilers ahead for the later half of the Downfall Arc!
After experiencing the events of the Metal Virus arc going down, Starline finally realizes that everyone who has been trying to talk him out of following Eggman during his time working alongside him was right. This.. isn’t what he actually wants. This, is going too far.
Eggman’s not who he thought he was, and he realizes he can no longer accept his idol’s vision of the world. He realizes he has to be stopped.
He’s still fired and thrown away by Eggman when he refuses to use the warp topaz to attempt to fix the mess atop Angel Island, and still has a video log breakdown ranting about his anger and frustration. But this is the moment things really change for him.
Operation: Remaster goes from being a plan to take over the world and win Eggman’s approval, to instead being a way to make up for everything wrong Starline’s done thus far by finding a way to defeat Eggman for good.
He’s still full of pride, and can’t outright admit he was wrong for so long about everything, so he refuses to seek out help from The Restoration or the various members of the Starpoint Squad. He’s messed up too much already. He has to fix this by himself. And he’s confident he can.
In this AU, Surge and Kit end up being volunteers, either at rock bottom from losing everything to one of Eggman’s raids, or at death’s door after being orphaned and cruelly imprisoned. When Starline finds them, they both know exactly what they’re signing up for. He offers to help them become stronger, in exchange for their help in taking down Eggman.
This would also solve the problem of Starline’s unethicality in creating them, cutting out the (speculated) kidnapping and mental manipulation of overwriting personalities to turn them into killing machines.
I imagine he still has to hypnotize them into suppressing the trauma of training, because they still very much aren’t warriors from the get-go, but they aren’t in the dark about what’s going on like in canon, and even have a certain level of respect for him. (Although they still have their moments of clashing and tension.)
It also gives them the avenue to be real heroes when everything blows over. They’ll probably even end up becoming part of The Restoration. (For real this time though and not just for fakesies.)
Don’t worry though, Eggman fans. I respect him too. So he’s not going down THAT easily. 😏
