i haven’t seen that much people talking about scene where genzou apologised to orlam so imma tell you what i think about it personally

to be completely honest with you i didn't experience that many emotions when going through Arc 5. i still like it very much!! but it’s not the same kind of feeling that i had back in winter, when i played Our Wonderland for the first time. i can’t even explain what i’ve felt but it’s been soo amazing and powerful, my mind has been all over about your visual novel, i’ve spend nights discussing theories about it with my friend, and literally nothing else i've ever been interested in has awakened so many emotions in me as OW did. so when arc 5 came out, by that time i’d already cooled down and got into other things, and for some reason, i didn’t fall back to this kind of interest like i though i would, just had a nice nostalgic feeling while playing. including newest part.

i bawled my eyes out when genzou hugged orlam

i didn't expect it to have such an impact on me!! i had this deep and long forgotten feeling developing in my chest when genzou refused to speak about what he hates in orlam, and I was expecting something like this to happen, but only when Genzou proved my thoughts correct, BAM and I'm IMMEDIATELY in tears! it was like it’s winter all over again! and omg carrot i didn’t even get a chance to catch my breath, because genzou continued his speech and the animation just kept going and showing their interactions back in school, and i just cried louder and louder WHAT!!

i feel so so so sorry for orlam, he was so compassionate, kind, and feeling, and he didn’t deserved anything that had happened to him, and i can’t even imagine how much guilt regret and remorse is experiencing genzou. it was such an emotional moment, and now i’m actually really excited and looking forward for the future part(‘s ??) and seeing more of their interactions.

ahhh... what you talked about is one of my biggest points of anxiety and pressure/fear when making this game tbh (among others) 💦 that because it takes me so long to put out parts even those who might have played and liked the game won't care about it anymore 💦💦 ahhh... it's a big problem when you're a solo dev. i'm sorry i can't get stuff out more quickly 💦

i'm really happy you were able to find some of your past feelings when playing the new part though 🥺💕 it was also a very Important and Meaningful Scene for me (and by that i mean i cried even while planning it) so i was really hopeful that it would have a lot of impact and people might be able to feel things from it. i feel like so much of the story and the various character arcs having been leading up to it, so i wanted to make sure i put everything i could into making it. ofc hopefully the actual final finale will be what everything ultimately leads to LOL but like, this is the last stop along the way and something that's been building for a long time, so... i was rather nervous in general hoping that it could be impactful for people who have been playing the game

thank you very much writing all this up. this truly means a lot hearing something like this. i feel really grateful having people who can look forward to and enjoy the game and feel so much from the characters and story. thank you so much for all of your support and for loving the game 💕 i will keep working hard to make the finale as good as i can 💦

anyway i’m making a ship of pirate ocs so far i’m rattling around captain annie read of “the arc”, maybe, and her first mate / lover circe the fuckass huge killer whale mermaid. annie read has the… “fur fur fruit”, maybe? if she wants it too, she can turn people who made contact with her [coughs] bodily fluids into animals that match their personalities, for variable periods of time. kissing obviously works— but in practice, she’s more often been known to sneak aboard enemy ships and spit in their booze. blood is more concentrated and effective, technically. pretty unsanitary though. lol. effect will range from anywhere between 5 minutes to an hour depending on the circumstances. …if you die in the form of an animal, you don’t change back. ………her crew always has a lot of fresh meat.

circe flat out eats humans anyway, but the variety is appreciated. she also refuses to wear any sort of clothing or bow to social norms. when she was younger, she’d been forced to sing, and now as an adult her voice is a bit— strange? angry, but… supernaturally mesmerizing.

her and annie are ~29 and want circe’s legs to split SO BAD because annie can’t swim and her beautiful mermaid wife is RIGHT THERE…. 🥺….

second mate saavy o. malley, otherwise known as “mal”. also fuckoff huge and getting on in her years, she’s an experienced pirate and navigator who avoids garps territory like the plague because she may or may not have fucked luffy’s grandma once. don’t worry about it. has a tendency to skate unharmed out of big historical events she’s tertiary too because she does not matter at all. her previous crew broke up because of polycule drama at the start of the grand line; but that was already her second or third ship. she has no particular ambition, to be honest, she’s just good at doing what she does (charting courses and cracking heads).

the ship’s cook is a young, uncomfortably intense but polite gay man named abel. honestly, annie’s crew doesn’t have a discriminatory hiring policy, but they kill recruits who don’t behave themselves and a lot of guys wound up scared off by the “scary woman ambiguous people eating” thing anyway so… not abel! to be honest he seems to have been extremely excited about the soylent green thing to begin with. is his name short for something….? ah, well.

….i need more pirates to round out the crew

annie knows what shanks fursona is now and the whole situation was so unspeakably embarrassing he won’t willingly bring it up.

i love you gurren lagann……….you’re so everything to me………i’m so grateful to have experienced these showings and i feel so strongly they should put these movies in theaters worldwide 😭 i’m writing this right after the last one and i’m nowheres near as jazzed as i was after all of the other showings and i feel like it’s because it’s somewhat bittersweet? it’s been a hell of a week+ and i can’t believe it’s over, but… we had a lot of fun, didn’t we? (absolutely bursts into tears)

anyways!! 4dx thoughts first:

I SAW IT IN 4DX ON TUESDAY CAUSE I WANTED TO MAKE SURE I COULD ACTUALLY PAY ATTENTION TO THE DUB BUT. THEY SHOWED THE DUB TUESDAY ANYWAY????? SO I SAW IT TWICE. IDK WHAT HAPPENED THERE BUT I’M SO HAPPY IT DID. THAT DUB SUMMONING CIRCLE POST FUCKING WORKED

at the scene where yoko’s just gotten simon outta prison and boota leaps into her titties the seats started bouncing too and like. causing some irl gainaxing i’m ngl 😭

ALSO YEAH WHEN SIMON VOMITS BLOOD THEY SPRAY YOU WITH WATER. AGAIN. WHAT WAS GOING ON IN THESE 4DX PLANNING SESSIONS

i went to a different 4dx theater this time and they kept??? blasting the back of our legs with air??? and they did not do that during gurren-hen and i am SO confused what that was all about

every time i watch that scene where arc gurren transforms into arc gurren lagann i think to myself “those poor civilians are probably getting JOSTLED” and HAVING NOW FELT IT MYSELF. THEY SURE WERE 😭

ALSO i know why wakabayashi fell out of his seat while watching. and it’s because THEY PURPOSELY TRY TO KNOCK YOU OUT OF IT!!!!!! like when viral throws lagann at the antispiral and when lagann throws simon, they hit you in the back HARD and if i hadn’t been gripping the armrest for dear life i would’ve been knocked out too 😭 the lordgenome battle was crazy too, as well as Literally everything after they escape the labyrinth. which is expected but DAMN it was a wild time!!!

OKAYYYY konishi & trigger interview/lead-in thoughts:

konishi’s little speech was so funny omg 😭 he really was like “i know some of you only came for this movie and not the first one” LMAOOOO. he also spend a HOT minute being like “this is the end of gurren lagann! the very end! there’s no more! please enjoy the end! 😇” and i KNOW trigger is smart enough to not make a sequel or anything BUT THE WAY HE WAS SAYING IT had me worried i’d get hit with some “surprise! third movie!” after the end of this one LMFAO

they said that the reason they added SO much new animation for lagann-hen was because the end of gurren-hen got such a good reception from fans and like. it’s WILD to hear that as i do still, in my mind, view these as “compilation movies” but i always forget JUST HOW MUCH of lagann-hen is just. completely new LMAO. and it’s really interesting as i feel like the new animation is kind of more dispersed throughout the movie than being back-loaded like in gurren-hen!!

koyama also mentioned something really sweet, that when they were finishing up making this movie they had pulled in a whole bunch of different animators from other studios, and it really felt similar to the spirit of gurren lagann itself in that it was stronger because everyone was working together 🥺 making myself tear up typing this out tbh but i really do love how much of ttgl’s message and story is part of its production………i think it really helps contribute to like, the honesty and sincerity of the story!!!!

AND NOW FOR MY DUB THOUGHTS:

HOLLYYYYYYYYYYYYY SHIT THIS DUB WAS AMAZING. even better than gurren-hen’s by a LONG shot - though admittedly i think it’s also benefitted by having so much changed dialogue, and so there’s not as much direct comparison that can go on? still, everyone fucking killed it and i’m so so so excited to buy this on bluray and listen to it every day LMAO

anyways all that said, my very small gripes that literally don’t even matter because i’m so fucking stoked that we HAVE A DUB AND ITS AWESOME: yoko’s performance is still not doing it for me 😭 i feel like her lines suffered the most from the stricter adherence to lip flaps, and she was still doing the head voice thing that she did in the first movie… also they pronounced “anne” as “ann” rather than “ah-neh” which surprised me, and ALSO at one point i think cybela said “laGAHN” rather than “lagann”? but they said darry’s name right and also these are SUCH tiny nitpicks that they don’t even matter cause everythign else ruled so hard LMAO.

VIRAL. AMAZING AS EXPECTED. LITERALLY NO NOTES HE WAS PERFECT. also that scene where lordgenome’s like “we have to steal my old moon gunman” and viral’s like “well it’s a good thing that your SPECIALTY is STEALING GUNMEN, simon” had me DYING. cut the man a break viral, you’ve been on his side for two seconds and yet could not wait any longer to sass him LMFAO

KITTAN RULED ALSO. his whole speech to gimmy - when he said “show me someone who ain’t afraid of dyin’ and i’ll show you a liar!” it fucking HIT. GOD. and his final sacrifice??? honestly on par with or even better than the tv version, god, he KILLED IT.

also gimmy!! and darry!!! i’m WILDLY impressed that they still sounded like their old selves here!!! excellent job!!!

the antispiral was really great too - crispin freeman did a great job of making him more, like, unhinged overall??? like when he is going to TOWN on ttgl and tearing it apart and there was BLOOD EVERYWHERE JESUS. that part is shocking in visuals alone but he knocked it out of the park with the voice acting too!!!

I Cannot Believe They Made Johnny Yong Bosch Say “i’m a fool of epic proportions!” Out Loud In English With His Mouth. about to integrate that into my own vocabulary tbh LMAO, i figured they would’ve tweaked the wording there a little!! either way though he ALSO KILLED IT AS ROSSIU, god his “so many others” like was PERFECT in its equal desperation and relief and i know nia is the one who says it but “rossiu cannot save humanity. he can’t even save himself.” makes me go ten types of crazy insane stupid oh my GODD

at one point dayakka had the line “oh no! the giga drill broke?” and i swear to god i saw the 2007 youtube compilation of “giga drill breaks” ending with that line in full 480p in my mind when he did LMAO. on par with simon’s “you mean we need an EVEN BIGGER DRILL? 😱” from the tv show

NIAAAAAAA OH MY GOD. she was INCREDIBLE, like her “no way! 😇” wasn’t as strong as in the tv version imo but HER ANTISPIRAL VOICE????? god it was soooo sinister it killed me. also every scene of her and simon… when she accepted his proposal i was full-on sobbing, maybe romance IS real………

AND NOW. SIMON. YURI FUCKING LOWENTHAL MY GOD. i knew he was gonna kill it since he did amazing in gurren-hen despite not sounding 14 anymore BUT OH MY LORD. I WAS NOT EXPECTING HIM TO COMPLETELY ALTER MY PERCEPTION OF SIMON AS A CHARACTER FOR THE BETTER. AND YET HE DID. LIKE. you can HEAR how much simon is struggling emotionally in this movie much MUCH more so than you can in any other version imo, like the fucking prison scene???? the way he sounded so resigned and defeated and NOT ACTUALLY CONTENT but knowing that he NEEDS to be content JESUS CHRIST. he literally NEEDED viral to jump in front of that blast from nia and save him oh my god. and during the final battle too, you can just Hear his struggle through his voice. his struggle with his spiral power, and how much of it he has, and controlling it when he maybe doesn’t WANT to. his struggle to move forward and fight with Everything he has despite knowing that Nia Will Die. simon as a force of nature, simon as a galaxy, simon as someone to whom the spiral nemesis is Already Happening and yet literally simon just some guy. i am going to start chewing through my walls. FUCK!!!!!!!!! thank you yuri lowenthal this was LIFE CHANGING. BLURAY WHEN

IT WAS PERFECT. i truly expected no less but it’s so hard not to be amazed by it. the attention to detail in the animation is incredible— and the storytelling and arcs and how complex each character is???? INSANE. and the humour?? ALSO THE FACT THAT THERE ARE DIFFERENT VERSIONS PLAYING IN THE THEATERS!!!!!😭😭😭 apparently they’re minor differences like changes in dialogue or how something looks, etc., but oh my god. they’re really making it like a multiverse im just in awe.

PAVITR WAS SO CUTE I LOVED HIM SM 😭😭😭 <33 i hope we see a LOT more of him in the next movie! it’s so heartwarming to see people’s reaction to him being in the film🥹 it just shows how important diversity is in media. which is a whole other tangent i could go off on regarding the spiderverse films ESPECIALLY this one bc they really just do an incredible job. like i don’t think some people get how meaningful and powerful it is to have hundreds of different spider people from all walks of life, showing how anyone can be hero :( it makes me wanna cry

BABE I've been so busy recently sorry for not being as active 😭 but I'm gone for like 4 days and I come back to you WATCHING DEMON SLAYER!? I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS ITS LITERALLY ONE OF MY FAVES ❤ so I literally watched all 3 seasons of demon slayer in like two days lol and I kinda regret watching it while on my period bc I fr cried like every episode LOL I was just a mess of emotions for those two days. First Inosuke is 100% my favorite character I would die for him in a heartbeat, and tanjiro is like my son I genuinely just adore him 🥺 I was hesitant to start demon slayer bc I thought that tanjiro seemed kinda boring for a main character (and I was like why the fuck does that girl have that thing in her mouth 24/7) but I was wroooong hes such an angel and I would literally stop watching the show if anything bad happened to him. I also want to fuck literally all of the hashira and demons big shocker I know lol. I'm super conflicted about muzan tho and would love to hear your thoughts on him. Like I think hes super hot, does he resemble Michael Jackson? Yes, but hes still sexy in my eyes lol but at the same time I just have a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to him. I usually LOVE villains no matter what no questions asked but after watching rui's backstory and seeing how muzan basically manipulated this poor boy to become a demon bc he was in that much pain and wanted to be free from it made me really sad ngl 😥 idk I'd probably still fuck him lol and I think hes a really cool and cruel villain but hes definitely not my fav. I watched the Miraculous Movie.

I’m not going to say I hated it. I watched it with my little sister, and there were some moments I loved. But they unfortunately didn’t outweigh the other things about it. Spoilers ahead. 

I feel like everything I have to say about the movie has been said before. The animation was pretty. The character interactions with Ladybug and Chat Noir were pretty awesome at times. *Ahem. THE WALL SLAM.* I also liked Marinette trying to reject the miraculous And the reason why they get the miraculouses makes a lot more sense to me. 

But then there were not so awesome moments like when Chat Noir pretended to be hurt to see if Ladybug liked him. Or the moment after the wall slam when Chat says “Don’t go 🥺.” Idk I couldn’t deal with that part. 

I couldn’t help but notice that they NERFED Luka in the movie. 

Okay, looking at them side by side, the movie Luka looks like a normal human boy. But where are the earrings? Where’s the flavor? 

Speaking of flavor. I am obsessed with Marinette’s dress. 

THE WINGS??!!! So cute. Made enduring all of the musical numbers almost worthwhile.

I know some people liked them, depending on which version they watched. I was tempted to watch the German version because I heard that was pretty decent. But I was watching with my sister and she doesn’t speak German so we stuck with the English dub. Which was... fine. No one sounded like their character except for Gabriel. But Keith Silverstein is in literally every anime and video game on the planet. So I can imagine he’s done some singing in character.

Anyway. What was I talking about? 

Oh yeah. Gabriel. I loved Gabriel in this movie. I loved the long hair. His little character design was so cute. It made me really like Gabriel. And I want to repeat a point that my little sister made about him after the movie. 

She basically said “So the hero and main character of this movie is actually Gabriel?” And I think she was right in a way. Gabriel is the reason why any of this is happening in the first place. Gabriel is the reason why it ended. Gabriel is the one who gets all of this backstory and growth. 

I know they tried a “be true to yourself” arc for Marinette in the movie. But none of it feels earned or real. With Gabriel, you can feel he actually loves his family. In the movie at least he is going out of his way to protect Adrien. He immediately stops his destructive behavior as soon as he sees what it has done to his son. Which is a moment I think a lot of people were hoping for. 

But what about our main characters? What growth do they see? How do they change? Marinette grows out of her fearfulness. Cool. And Adrien, as per usual, doesn’t really get an arc. He is simply acted upon by is father and the plot. I think it’s fine that he accepted the miraculous no question. He’s silly like that. But he seems to have a total of two aspects to himself. Sadness about losing his mom and being in love with Ladybug. I know this might seem weird of me to say, but he feels like a woman written by a man. 

The reason why we don’t like women written as jaded people who eventually ‘get better’ through the power of love isn’t just because they’re women. It’s because it’s a terrible way to write a character. Any growth they have belongs to another character. Even when he realizes his father is the literal villain... there’s nothing about that? You couldn’t have scrapped one song to explore that? 

Maybe that’s why he wasn’t at the dance right away and Marinette finds him and they have a little chat about that? The plot of the movie felt very disjointed and unreal to me because of this. 

One last point I’d like to talk about is how it seems people are divided because they are a) excited and happy the movie is finally out, or b) disappointed because the movie doesn’t follow the show’s lore to a T. 

I frankly could care less about the movie following the lore. I liked the things they added, like their miraculouses glowing when they were calling for each other. If you’ve read my fanfiction, you know I’m fine with the lore being tossed up. But I don’t think the movie did that. In fact, it’s as if they expected you to already know what the backstory of the miraculous was, and hopefully not get too confused when they changed things or even just left stuff out. If they were going to change what the miraculouses did, I think it could have been explained better. 

That’s my two cents on the movie. That’s totally why I haven’t uploaded in *checks calendar*… almost four weeks. Whoops.

akaza's arc was truly bittersweet~ when his wife decided to go to hell with him was the most heartfelt moment that happened and was a perfect end to him considering that his life as a human was utter hell and his life as a demon was also a struggle as he did gain power but didn’t really have a purpose except murder. i hope that akaza could rest in peace truly he deserves it! 🥺… tengen is also one of my favourite characters!!!! 🥰 not only is he the most funniest and handsome god of festivals but he is also a fearsome shinobi with flamboyance haha i love him sm!!!! 💓 the animation did a wonderful job and i think it exceeded the first season ~~

purple is my absolute favourite colour but blue is also like my aesthetic 💜💙 some of my favourite quotes from giyuu are, 1) from the first chapter/ episode quotes to tanjiro: “feel the rage. the powerful pure rage of not being able to forgive will become your unswerving drive to take action!” along with “do not let others hold the right to decide if you live or die” 2) when giyuu found his resolve to fight as the water hashira by protecting tanjiro: “never again will i let my family and friends die before my eyes. i will save tanjiro the same way i was saved." 3) his monologue against fighting akaza “for the first time in a long while, i’m up against a strong opponent who can overwhelm me and i realize that my senses have been sharply honed in a short time. senses that were closed off to me have been awakened and dragged out to the place where my strong opponent stands. now i understand how the intense struggle to survive increases in one's skills." 4) last but not least (lol) to shinobu: “i am not hated”

some of my other favourite characters from other animes are inuyasha (inuyasha), lelouch vi britannia (code geass) akemi homura (puella magi madoka magica) zenin maki (jjk) and many others but those are the ones from the top of my head. including the naruto and yyh characters i mentioned earlier… i just started to watch csm and i really like power already, she left a huge impression, i love her personality! 🥰
