all my favorite fics that no one asked for:
* = my absolute favorites
multiple ship fics:
All in the Cards (series)* - (haikyuu) MY FAVORITE FIC OF ALL TIME! although lengthy it is such a good read and has a lot of popular ships! the au is such a cool concept and the plot and characters are thought out so well it’s amazing and should definitely check it out
The Crystal Miracles - (kuroko no basket) based off steven universe but coming from someone who has never watched steven universe the fic was not super dependent on it and was just based around the plot of steven universe (apparently i talked about with my friend who actually watched steven universe) i thought it was cool so definitely recommend! also a bit lengthy but worth it
friends, worlds apart - (haikyuu) it’s mainly bokuaka but there’s other ships so i decided to put this fic here. tbh i don’t remember it too well but i do know it well enough to know that it was really good! it’s a pretty long hogwarts au fic and is based off basic plot points from harry potter but it’s not too similar imo so overall a good read!
Haikyuu:
Death Threats & Wine Bottles - (semishira) domestic semishira. that’s all. it’s cute. there’s nothing to not like about it.
Saltwater Room - (kuroken) i think i read this because of a recommendation and man it was funny. i enjoyed all the fun little bits of kenma and hinata just being friends but also the more serious angsty parts and having the whole conflict with kuroo and kenma’s dream. *sigh* it’s good but lengthy. worth it in my opinion but i like long fics so maybe not your cup of tea
When I Fall In Love - (semishira) i can’t really remember this fic since i read it a long time ago but i do remember liking it! the band au/pianist au concept was cool seeing it with semishira and they are so supportive of each other after they get over their annoyance! it’s not as long as the other long fics i’ve recommended but definitely give it a shot!
Cover My Thoughts In Gold - (bokuaka) some classic soulmate au because they are soulmates so why not have a fic that has them be confirmed soulmates
True Ending - (kuroken) marriage proposal in the best and cutest way possible and one that perfectly fits them 🥺
Cat’s Out of the Bag - (kuroken) it’s just some cute little scenes of kenma as a shapeshifter and kuroo not knowing. it’s quick but so so cute how they interact
Maybe, Probably - (sakuatsu) cute hogwarts au of slytherin atsumu and ravenclaw sakusa. yeah that’s basically it
Rose Gold - (semishira) ROYALTY AU SEMISHIRA AAAAAAA definitely one of my favorite considering that I actually never see a royalty au centered around them
Vibrant - (semishira) im a sucker for soulmate aus but this soulmate au especially was such a cute concept!
A Musical World Thanks To You - (semishira) soulmate au fic but you can hear songs that your soulmate is listening to! it really is such a good concept with semi asking shirabu to be in the talent show with him and perform a song and yk yk big build up to the moment hehe
Dog visits - (kyouhaba) the classic “oh he’s different than i thought what do i do now” and yahaba being soft with kyoutani’s dog is everything and kyoutani not knowing how to deal with yahaba barging into his life 😍
be my honeybee - (kyouhaba) tw: implied/referenced child ab/se if you aren’t comfortable with that please don’t read <3 but it is a good fic and addresses real issues especially with kyoutani not really having anyone to help him until yahaba came around. it’s a bit long and made me cry a little so that’s why it’s good
Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back - (kyouhaba) everyone has superpower abilities!! i always love aus like this so it’s not a surprise it’s one of my favorites. it also touches on mental health in the form of kyoutani doing too much for people when he doesn’t need to and always sacrificing himself for others even when it makes him unhappy. it’s so good tho if you ever decide to read it because it is a bit long
rewrite the stars - (kuroken) arranged marriage au where kenma and kageyama are going to get married but by the end they realize that they are marrying the wrong people and its so cute seeing kenma come to that realization
Kuroko No Basket:
The Frog in the Well - (midotaka) it has been a while since i read this fic but i do remember laughing about this and just thinking it was overall cute especially with the whole aspect of being a loose retelling of “The Frog-King” and i know two other people who also read this and thought it was cute so there’s that
The Witch in the Tower - (murahimu) this is from the same series and author as the previous knb fic i recommended because this fic is also based around a fairy tale and i found this really cute because they are kinda domestic in this fic since there’s just an adopted child in a tower… anyway
Feels Like Winning - (murahimu) just some soulmate au for them because murasakibara not knowing how to deal with feelings <3
Only with You - (kikasa) a cute fic for this surprisingly underrated ship! it’s not too long but encompasses these idiots’ relationship in this fic perfectly
Claws and paws - (murahimu) this shapeshifter au is so cute because like height difference 😍 and also the whole idea of like himuro being this tiny cat compared for murasakibara is funny to me. it’s kind of long but i enjoyed it!
Other Fandoms:
Boy Problems - (mirio togata x tamaki amajiki) an OG for me it’s actually one of my first bookmarks and it’s a cute little oneshot that reminds me how oblivious and stupid these idiots are
the blind leading the blind - (childe x zhongli) it’s not really focused on relationship but it really touches on the betrayal that childe feels after realizing that zhongli gave his gnosis to signora behind his back and i think this fic is so very cool for creating that scenario and executed it perfectly!
kintsugi - (teru minamoto x akane aoi) oh lord. oh god. this fic actually kinda broke me. it’s a very bittersweet fic that makes me go OMG YAY and then oh oh oh oh /neg but it does end happily. at what cost tho. it’s so so so good tho definitely recommend. a little lengthy but not too bad
Look At Me Like That - (momotarou mikoshiba x aiichirou nitori) THIS FIC SUMS UP THIS SHIP PERFECTLY! ITS SO GOOD! like the whole thingg of ai having unrequited feelings for rin but is now in love with this idiot momo is exactly how i see their relationship and having that tied up in this one fic.

Tumblr media
Several people have been kind enough to let me publish their thoughts on fandom, community, and queerness to celebrate Pride in the Library. Today's piece comes from @wolfpants.
Dear readers, dreamers, and purveyors of the glittering, gilded aisles of the Drarry Library,
Fandom life began for me at age fifteen. We just got our first family computer, taking pride of place in the utility room between the boiler and my dad’s boxes of tools. I had recently come out as bisexual to my friends at school, who, props to them, had all taken it quite well despite the small town we grew up in (I was very lucky, they were great - everyone else though? Not so much). Still, even with supportive friends offline, I never felt like I could talk to them about what I really enjoyed: watching Buffy, reading Harry Potter and looking for queer subtext (I could never have convinced any of them that Harry’s story screams gay allegory–no matter what JKR has to say on the topic back then or now), scouring bookshops and libraries for any sort of queer content I could get my hands on, desperate as I was to read something that spoke to me, to read about love outside of the heteronormative landscape of the popular media. I wasn’t just tired of boy-meets-girl; I had never identified with it in the first place.
The year we got dial-up internet was the year I discovered Livejournal. The absolute joy I felt, stumbling upon an LJ community specifically dedicated to roleplaying Harry Potter characters in queer pairings. Discovering, beyond that, that people wrote stories about Harry and my other favourite queer-coded character of the series: Draco Malfoy. And then it was Wolfstar (specifically Sirius), then Drarry again, and somewhere along the way my lurking fell off and I stopped reading fic for a while when I moved to London and settled into my first job, my first real relationship, and sitting uncomfortably atop my bisexual identity and not really knowing where that shift happened and why. All the while, I was pursuing a writing career on the more journalistic side: writing for music and film outlets, doing a little bit of secret creative writing on the side, dipping in and out of HP RPGs but never really—connecting. In “real life”, my relationship with my ex was falling apart, and I felt very disconnected from the LGBTQIA+ community because, even though I knew I belonged, I never felt like I could be truly me with anyone—perhaps because I was, unknowingly, still discovering who I really was.
When the pandemic happened, it gave me the breathing space I needed to get to that point. It brought me back to fandom.
It started with reading The Popular Wolfstar Fic Everyone Was Reading, and reopening my ao3 account to re-read some old favourites from over the years. It then unrolled to, hey, I have some free time, why don’t I try writing my own Wolfstar fic for my oldest, dearest friend (who I met RPing on LJ at 15!), which then turned into: you should publish this, and see what happens.
So, I did. And I made a tumblr account, and I lurked for a while, shyly reblogging things and scrolling through author accounts I’d admired from a very young age, astonished and really fucking impressed that they were still in the game. I read their new fics, I was drawn back into Drarry, and from there I discovered what a wonderful community this is, not only for its immensely talented creatives, but for its values as a inclusive, equitable, supportive, uplifting, and joyful group of individuals who genuinely welcome everyone with open arms and love. That, in itself, has made it easy to reach out to like-minded folks here, to make life-long friends, to chat to people who have been through similar experiences in questioning their identities (it is truly thanks to this fandom and the many discussions I’ve had with people here that I’ve been able to realise my identity as a NB lesbian). To write! To share! To not be ashamed of my kinks and to discover fun, delicious rare pairs! To look at breathtaking art and read some of the best goddamn writing I’ve ever set eyes on!
I have spent thirty-seven years on this planet. A good chunk of that time has been spent questioning many parts, pieces, and niggly jiggly bits of my identity. Who am I? What am I? Is there anyone out there who is just like me?
After many years of searching in the dark, of asking these questions over and over, I can joyously say that the answer is: yes. And oh, how thankful I am for that, for all of you, because fandom has really been the community I can categorically point to and say: they did that for me, we did that for we, and I will do anything for you.
Happy pride.
Thank you, Wolf, for joining me in the Library. Your love and joy for fandom have left me feeling quite tender-hearted, in the best way. It's so so good to ask the question "Is there anyone out there who is just like me?" and find over and over that the answer chorusing back is "yes." Thank you for adding your yes to our chorus, and joining me for Pride in the Library.
If you want more @wolfpants be sure to check out their work on AO3! I can't help but recommend the fic that made me fall in love with her writing in the first place, Pages of You, which I've featured previously for Happy Hour. It's got Drarry and Wolfstar, and is one of my favorite comfort rereads.
🏳️‍🌈 Lots of Love and Happy Pride! 🏳️‍🌈

For a personal introduction discussion board for my anthro class I decided to full send it for one of the prompts and straight up expose my love for all things fandom and fanfic on the first day of class oops
When I hear “community,” I am inclined to think of the idea of fandom, though it may seem like a trivial thing. Whether it be for a movie, TV show, or book series, various pieces of media become a source of connection and community for many people of all ages. One of the things I love about fandoms is that you get the chance to see a plethora of countless different opinions, concepts, and spins on the fictional places and characters that are loved by so many people. For example, I consider myself to be a part of many different fandoms, such as Harry Potter, Sherlock (BBC), Supernatural, Good Omens, and Hannibal (NBC), for instance, and I love finding fanart, fanfiction, analyses of the media, and more, relating to those shows and movies. There are countless incredible works out there, whether it be fanart, music, meta, writing, or more inspired by the different pieces of media that people love, and these bring people together and bring light to many talented and creative individuals out there. Anyone can be part of many different fandoms, and there are many roles people play in them, from authors to artists, and those who just like to consume and appreciate the work that others share within the community. I am an artist, for example, and as I’ve already said, love to make art of the characters that I have grown up with that I love and sharing them within various fandom spaces. I also love to read written fan works. I have read many fanfics I would actually consider to be even better written than some published works I have read, and the amount of time and work put into them is incredible. There are many stereotypes and preconceptions people have about fanfiction, but many of them are extremely lengthy, detailed, and impressively well-written works that deserve much appreciation for their plots, character development, and expression of events and characters that people already have grown to love. It could be seen as a challenge for people in the sense that creativity can be difficult to master, as well as originality, but the beautiful thing about fandom and creation is that most people don’t even care about redundancy and repetition in content, whether it be in tropes used in writing, relationships depicted, art produced, and more. In fact, fanfiction is largely consumed for the exact purpose of people looking for a certain trope or type of story that they love so much that they actively search out that type of story/art, and artists and authors in fandoms should not feel bad about or hesitant to sharing art and stories that they think are overdone because the truth is that their work will be appreciated by someone out there, and the best way to get better at writing, drawing, etc. is to keep writing, drawing, and creating.

I’m a musician in training so feel free to ask any questions!
My biggest ships: Buddie (9-1-1), WolfStar, Destiel, JohnLock, Merthur
Films I love: Atonement, Dead Poet’s Society, Little Women, Hamilton, Hacksaw Ridge, Nowhere Boy, Knives Out, Gifted, Tick Tick BOOM!
Top artists are Noah Kahan & Taylor Swift
But I really love Hozier, Dermot Kennedy, Billie Eilish, Reneé Rapp, Lizzy McAlpine, Gracie Abrams and Mumford & Sons
I listen to lots of genres but my main would be indie, folk/alternative, pop, soul and rock.
I especially love when every now and then I’ll find a fanfic like Loki x pianist!reader or rockstar!marauders fic and stuff. As a pianist myself I love this and would love to see it represented, so I am more than happy for u guys that are writers (or just curious) to ask me about this like the industry, or live sound (I’ve seen on tiktok lately people thinking every performer has a metronome in their monitors, this isn’t always correct, there’s a lot more to it) or even all the jobs you take on within the industry like session musicians, library musicians etc.. so I’ll quite happily answer questions or help people out if they plan on writing fics with musicians as main characters or au’s so please please please don’t hesitate to ask! I go all nerdy for this stuff I think it’s pretty cool
Thanks for finding my page and reading all of this, if you got to the bottom, thank you so much I love you <33
Have a great week babes xx
For anyone interested, I’m on a Pop Music course and I’m study the music industry in business classes, with theory (boring as hell) classes too and I have recording sessions, music history & context lessons and on Fridays we have perfomance workshop, where we pick a song to learn in the morning and practice with a band or solo or whatever is needed, then by the end of the day we have an hour of tech set up and then we perform it to the rest of the people on the course. It’s a lot of fun but hard work, we have tech students doing live sound and someone from tech doing the lighting and stuff. Feel free to ask me any questions about it!

One thing that I’ve noticed is that, even before JK.Rowling outed herself as a tone-deaf TERF caricature of who she’d been before, is that people attacked the Harry Potter series for things that other YA series don’t get the same attacks for.
Like, JKR sucks, but let’s let our attacks on her and her books exist in the realm of fair reason, hm?
The one that really stands out for me is the complaint that the Harry Potter series is bad because Harry didn’t.... fix all of the problems with the Wizarding World?
This one has always baffled me. Like, leaving aside the fact that there was hardly room for fixing everything in a seven book series (what, did we want ten, twenty, thirty more books covering the rest of Harry’s life? I’m sorry, I don’t want to read Harry Potter and the Landlord’s Inspection followed by Harry Potter and the Series of Boring and Straight Forward Criminal Cases With No Plot Twists), How is it Harry’s responsibility to always, 100 percent of the time, be on the fore of solving all the world’s problems. Give him a freaking break, he spent seven years fighting for his life, let him have something nice!
Like, yes, the Wizarding World is packed full of problems. Many of them ones that J.K. Rowling deliberately included, and many that she doesn’t really see as problems (which is it’s own set of issues with her writing), but since when is it the responsibility of a book series to resolve literally every bad thing that exists in the world?
Yes, I’m all for a story about Aragorn’s tax policy, but I wouldn’t want that to be part of the Lord of the Rings proper, because that’s not what LOTR was. And I wouldn’t expect (or enjoy) a story where Aragorn literally fixes every single wrong in Gondor and then the rest of Middle Earth because that’s not how things work. Shit doesn’t get fixed like that, doesn’t get rendered perfect. (It’s telling that the loudest voices on this line of attack tend to be the kind of lazy socialist who thinks that everything can be solved by just screaming ‘eat the rich’ and ‘medicare for all’) Problems are solved, and the solutions raise new problems. They expend scarce resources. They require limited decision bandwidth. A solution for one group makes things worse for another. Or actually implementing the solution in a way that doesn’t accidentally kill innocent people becomes a challenge all it’s own.
And all this assumes that all the relevant figures in a society can be convinced to back a solution. Or you could use violence, but that doesn’t tend to work out all that well for anyone, by every single historical example we have. But sure, this time when we feed people to the Guillotine, it’ll work.
So yes, it’s not that it wouldn’t be interesting to read a series about a world like the Wizarding World being reformed, or even having a violent revolution (though if that violence led to a perfect utopia, I’d question the sanity of the writer). But that’s not what the Harry Potter series was, and I doubt JKRowling, with her abundance of character and writing flaws, would have been able to write it to the satisfaction of the people who bitch about it. And Harry Potter would hardly have been the right protagonist for that story anyway. But that’s not what the series was. It was a Juvenile fiction/YA series about an orphaned boy finding a place in the world, graduating school and defeating a Dark Lord. It’s not a particularly innovative model of a story, but it’s one that works well, and that is well established. It was very clear from the start what sort of story it was, and it was never gonna be ‘Harry Potter Fixes the World’.
I mean, it’s fine to want to read a story where someone discovers they belong to some secret, hidden world and then they set out to correct all the injustices of that world. And depending on how heavy-handed it was, and how unrealistic all that fixing was, I’d probably even enjoy it. But that isn’t what Harry Potter was. And getting angry at J.K. Rowling for not doing that in her seven book YA coming of age story is a bit like walking into a McDonalds and then screaming at them for not carrying vegan nonfat soy gluten free kale smoothies! It’s like going into a pizza place and wondering where the Chicken Tikka Masala is. You’re in the wrong place for what you’re looking for, and that’s not the proprietor’s fault.
And again - and this is what gets me - I have never seen any other YA author taken to task for this. I have seen tons of them attacked for bad representation, or lack of representation, or daring to have sex happen in the story, or for ‘sending bad messages about relationships to impressionable kids’, et cetera.
But I’ve never seen - and maybe I’m just not looking in the right places - any sort of widespread idea that the author’s story was a failure because *looks at smudged writing on hand* “... they failed to have the protagonists resolve all the problems of the society...” That can’t be right?
Oh, but it is somehow what people expect here. I have not once, in my many years of reading fantasy fiction, Sci-fi, and YA stories encountered any novel or series that ended with everything being solved. Or even most things. It’s never been an expectation I’ve seen anyone throw at any other story. The fact of the matter is, even the most complex of stories is only going to resolve a small number of problems just from a logistics of writing approach. I can’t even begin to imagine how complex a story focusing on just a tenth of the major systemic problems of our society and their ‘fixing’ would be.
JKRowling is, now, trash. She’s an out of touch, elitist, tone-deaf, perpetual victim TERF who has more in common with the alt-right than anyone to the left of Richard Freaking Nixon. Her refusal to take even reasonable and mild criticism, and her constant and persistent doubling down on her nonsense while continuing to screech about how dare ‘cancel culture’ attack her shows how thin her skin is, how badly she takes even the slightest disagreement, the barest hint of a ‘no’. There are many problems with the HP series, and many in the Wizarding World, including the ones that she didn’t seem to see as problems. A lot of unexamined Very British Baggage, for instance. And had JK Rowling been able to do any self-reflection once she started getting criticism, maybe she could have addressed those problems, at least a little. But a lot of the attacks the books got, and still get, were and are unreasonable. Expecting things that no one had any legitimate reason to expect or by judging it by standards no one ever judges books by. If you graded books by ‘solve all the problems in the world’ every book gets an F. But I’ve never seen any series get hit with that same, persistent line of attack.
It’s unreasonable, and stupid, and more than anything else, it’s baffling. Why did anyone ever expect this of Harry Potter in the first place?

Hello hello! (Introduction, Rules, and FAQ)
This blog is heavily inspired by the @foundfamilyadoptionagency :) since they don’t allow ocs, I thought i’d make this blog!
This is the Original Character found family! Submit your OCs, and let the people of tumblr decide whether or not they should join the official (not actually official) found family of ocs.
Submit your ocs in the form below!
Rules:
1: Of course, no non-ocs. Go to the blog I linked at the top if you wish to submit characters from series’ you like!
2: No OCs created using AI “art” tools, I think this one is obvious as to why I don’t like it.
3: OCs who are based in pre-existing universes/Fandom OCs are allowed! Just. No Harry Potter. Okay?
4: Please do not submit OCs you didn’t create, unless you have permission from their creator
5: In addition to that, please do not use images of your OCs you didn’t create without permission! That goes for stuff like bases aswell. I am hesitantly allowing characters whos images were created in games (Eg. Roblox, Dress-Up Games) but this may change later.
6: Don’t make fun of others OCs, please. Someone put time and effort into those! :( Anti-propaganda is allowed, but only to counter the actual propaganda. Nothing about how an OC looks, please.
(Not-So) Frequently Asked Questions:
“How will this work?”
A post with the name of the OC alongside an image of them (if submitted) alongside a poll asking whether or not they should be adopted will be posted. Below the posts “Read More” cut, there will be propaganda (a reason or two why they should be let into the family) to entice you to choose the “Adopt” option.
“What even is a found family?”
To quote @foundfamilyadoptionagency, “A found family is a family you find for yourself. It is a term often used in fandom to describe a group of characters who aren't related by blood (although a few members might be) but have come to think of each other as a family through circumstance. Alternatively, they might not be officially recognised as a found family in canon, but wider fanon regards them as such”
“Is this a tournament bracket of sorts?”
Nope, not at all. Besides, everyone’s OCs are cool and it’d be sad if one lost to another :(
“I don’t have an image of my OC, what’s gonna happen?”
I’ll post the poll still, although without an image or with a placeholder one. For cases like these, you might wanna add some propaganda. I don’t think a name will be enough to entice a good chunk of people.
”I’ve submitted my OC, but they haven’t been submitted yet. Have you recieved them?”
Send me an ask! Chances are i’ve recieved them, and just haven’t gotten around to posting them yet, but if you’re worried, send me an ask!
“My OCs are in a group that cannot be seperated, do I submit them as a group?”
Although i’d prefer submissions of only one character at a time, if your OCs cannot be seperated, then you can submit them as a group. You know your OCs better than anyone else, after all!
“Who’s that in your profile picture? What’s your banner?”
The character in my profile picture is Poppyseed, the first character to have their poll posted, and also one of the OCs of this blog’s runner, @rubysundaey! My banner is just some silly little cat with the caption of “girl blogging” because I didn’t know what to put, and that’s how I feel whenever I post on this site
“My OC got ditched, will they have a chance to rejoin?”
Of course! Just like the blog this is based off of, I am hoping that eventually I can do a reassesment event, where i’ll bring back some OCs that got ditched and see if the people’s opinions have changed.
“This is an Ikea, why are you telling me this?”
I don’t know, i’m bored. Where’s that funny shark plush guy

Hey Liv, I’m in a bit of a moral dilemma.
So I know that in the Drarry fandom, it’s mostly canon that Harry is brown as opposed to the white character that JKR made him out to be. But for some reason my brain refuses to accept that.
And that is absolutely not because I’m racist since I’m an Indian residing in India right now, and I’m very happy with my skin colour. (And trust me I’m not saying this to prove the fact that I’m not racist, I promise I am an Indian and am brown myself)
I’m not quite sure how to explain it but it’s basically something related to me reading Harry Potter when I was a kid and NEVER once being able to relate to anything. Because as weird as it is, having someone of your own ethnicity in a major book series as an important character (not ones with very exaggerated names like Parvathi and Padma or Cho Chang who were so obviously just put in for diversity; and before I offend anyone, I know that these names do exist but also if a white woman in that time were to look up Indian or Asian names with minimal effort, these would be the ones she found first. However all the Parvathis and Padmas I know in India are at least 60+ years old which doesn’t fit in well the HPs time frame.)
Books that were super popular in India, such as Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Heroes of Olympus, Divergent, TMI among many others barely ever had any Indian characters of significance and I assure you, every time someone of the same ethnicity as me was even mentioned, I’d be over the moon.
But Harry Potter was white as JKR made him to be. I loved him all the same but that personal touch that an Indian ethnicity would give the character was missing for me. I mean his name too, Harry Potter, is one of the lesser used names in India. I’ve never heard of a Harry that isn’t Harrypreet , Harbajan, Harshit etc. So in my pea sized brain Harry was always (and not to focus so much on the skin colour or race but here we are) white. And accepting anything except for that fact is very hard for me because if Harry was originally brown, the connection I’d have had with the character would be something else. Now though when it’s almost widely accept that Harry is some shade of brown, I’m so torn because it just doesn’t coincide with the view I have of him.
And the thing is, it’s not just me. A lot of my friends here who I’ve spoken to about this agree that it’s very hard for them to accept Harry as Indian specifically. Black, hell yes. Latino, sign me up. Asian even, go for it. But Indian, I’m not sure about that.
Just as an additional note, I’ve literally died with happiness just seeing Indian representation in books. Like when I read first about Parvathi Patil, I screamed to my friend who introduced me to the books about how amazing it was that Harry took her to the Yule ball (basically Indians getting some kind of privilege in a predominantly white setting). And as stupid and juvenile as this is (not even sure how many people know about this) but in the series Geronimo Stilton, Thea Stilton and the Ice Treasure, there was a mouse named Ashvin referenced who was crushed on by a lot of people and just seeing that an Indian was the source of everyone’s attraction was enough to make me land on the seventh heaven.
So my point I think is, I’m not sure exactly why but I’m not able to accept Harry as Indian specifically (I realised this when I read The Devils White Knight which btw is an incredible book) and I don’t know what to do about it.
Hi anon, I’m so sorry you’ve been feeling like this. I can see how this sense of disconnection affects the way you interact with both canon and fic, and as a white (Latin, but still white) woman I’m not sure I can provide the advice and guidance you’re looking for.
My two cents about this would be the gentle reminder that “representation matters” and “I appreciate that this headcanon exists but it doesn’t really work for me” are two ideas that can coexist. You’re not (or shouldn’t be) obligated to adopt headcanons any more than I, a white woman, am. Anyone who requires that based on your origin or skin color is being cruel and completely missing the point imho.
Now, I do think that those who are interested in exploring these headcanons could put in the effort to make it realistic, respectful and truly representative, but I will never expect creators to write/draw Harry the exact same way, just as I’ll never force myself to read something I’m not personally into as a way to convince myself that I’m doing the ~right~ thing. This is not how I see fandom at all, I’m not here to perform but to have fun during my free time. Again, I LOVE that fandom has become so much more representative and is spreading awareness over topics that canon never really cared about, but not everything will work out for everyone and that’s okay as long as we all remain kind and supportive among ourselves. This is why I’m here, but that’s me.
Sorry, I probably wasn’t helpful at all but unfortunately I don’t think I’m in a position to offer any insights on this matter. Maybe my followers can help with better advice! Take care.

On Consuming Media
I’ve been seeing so many posts about people longing for the days when TV show episodes were released once a week, how we used to be able to enjoy a show without the stress of “missing out” on the conversation. You would watch an episode, the next day sitting around with your friends or family completely enraptured by what just happened, discussing everything that happened from the overarching plot to the finest details, throwing back and forth ideas of what will happen in the next week’s episode.
We would have seasons with 30-45 minute episodes, 20+ episodes a season, all rich with story and character development. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like there was less to watch as well. Most likely because we only had three major channels on free-to-air TV that showed a good majority of the popular culture, and it was a battle between them to gain your viewership. But even if times didn’t overlap and you enjoyed multiple shows, it didn’t feel overwhelming. Sure, we had to sit through advertisements which took up a lot of a channel’s viewing time, but there is fun in that little bit of nostalgia too; running for the bathroom or snacks, trying to make it back before the show began again.
And there was excitement for the show. With the pacing being an episode a night or week depending on what you were watching, you had time to be excited for something to come out. Again, this may be just me, but with the posts I’ve been seeing circulating, I figure it’s not. Nowadays, I’m excited for things to come out, but it’s overshadowed by the dread of knowing I will have to binge the series, something I have very little time to do, just so I don’t miss out on the wave of everyone talking about it, before the next new thing comes out.
Before you say, “but Jane, you can watch it at your own pace, you don’t have to keep up with everyone else!”, I know this. But, despite that size of the community, we all love to be a part of something where we can share enjoyment with one another, on most levels of our lives. Even something like sitting down to share a meal, the context of “I made this, not just for myself, but to share, please join me and take part.” We are social creatures and, I feel, especially when it comes to our leisure time, it’s nice to share and inspire others with the things we enjoy.
Please don’t misunderstand me, I’m not judging anyone for binge-watching or reading. I love having something that holds my attention and wanting to read or watch things all the way through in a sitting when I’m able. The excitement is real and it’s fun to be able to talk to people about things in real time. But I feel like, because the way everything is a hustle and a grind, it’s just expected that even our hobbies and entertainment have to all be consumed this way. I remember reading books like Harry Potter, getting through it in one sitting and then screaming with my friends about it who did the same the following day. But there were also books that I took my time with, reading at my own pace and just savouring, enjoying it in little bits. There was time, and breathing room, even with reading a book over the course of one day.
With content coming out so rapidly, and so much at once, it’s so hard to keep up and makes leisure a chore. We’re all responsible for ourselves and what we choose to do with our time and money, but we cannot deny that media and advertising do have a great affect on our choices. Even down to how we consume; audiobooks, e-books, physical. Hardbacks or paperbacks. An aesthetic library that looks wonderful but maybe, deep down a lot of the books I don’t actually want to read, but bought because I wanted to be a part of the community, having people to engage with.
My main point it, I think we miss out on more when things are so fast-paced, than when things were slower. Maybe being bookish isn’t having a giant library where I’m in debt because I need to have every book that’s on trend to keep up and be relevant. Maybe it’s just having your favourites that you read over and over, a few new books thrown in that take your interest. Maybe it’s a mixture of physical books, e-books, audiobooks. Maybe it’s only older books, or only newer books. Maybe the community we need to be invested in is something a little smaller, like book clubs of old. Whatever fits into your lifestyle, not something unrealistic.

A FORCE OF NATURE NOTES
This fic is my contribution to the My Hero Academia Big Bang! Working on it has been a treat but also very intimidating. There are many more pieces that you can find on the @mybigbangacademia blog, so definitely check that out because all of the participants put their all into it!
One of the reasons the collaboration is so exciting is because authors are paired with artists and I was lucky enough to score @/maewoahoah as my partner, an absolutely incredible creator who I always enjoy working with.
Now, onto the fic disclaimers:
This is a magic school AU which means it’s entirely fiction, but I have taken bits and pieces from real stuff like Tarot, Oracle, etc. I do not claim to be an expert in any of it, so if anyone is and sees something inaccurate, please don’t come to me with a lecture or anything. It’s a fic, not that big a deal, and I’m researching as I go.
There are a lot of dark themes in the fic—character death, murder, some gore, necromancy, stuff like that. So if any of it makes you uncomfortable, just step away.
I do mention dead animals quite often. I refuse to describe their deaths in real time, so they’re only brought up once already dead. I won’t have any scenes where someone or something is actively killing them.
All of reader’s romantic relationships are student/teacher. It’s a college AU, so there’s nothing underage, but there are some age gaps as reader is 23, Sasaki is 35, Chisaki is 30, and Todoroki is 25. Just something to be aware of.
I know there are many stories and fics that revolve around magic and magic institutes. I’ve tried to keep my ideas as original as possible, but I’m sure you’ll find similarities. One that I feel the need to point out is Harry Potter. I am doing my absolute best to avoid overlap since the series has all the problems that it does (and also Rowling is terrible), but I’ll admit that when I was younger I was completely obsessed. That means that the series has stuck with me and that I have probably dropped a few references subconsciously. The only idea that will be glaringly obvious is the Axis system I have in place for this fic as it is a lot like the Hogwarts housing system. Other than that, I’ve tried to stay away from the series as much as possible.
Reader is unnamed and not described physically aside from what she wears sometimes and that she’s shorter than her partners (I allude to this by saying stuff like “you look up at him” or “stand on tiptoes”, so no actual height is mentioned).
Like all of my readers, this one has a real personality. Sarcastic, witty, sassy, playful. She is definitely not shy. If you prefer totally blank readers, this isn’t really the fic for you.
I have and am still pouring so much of myself into this story, so feedback is more than welcome. It’s out of my comfort zone and the biggest project I’ve taken on writing-wise, so if you read and enjoy it, please let me know!

Avatar: The Last Airbender book tag
I saw @belle-annd-the-book do this and thought it looked fun.
Katara and Sokka: Best sibling relationship
William “Bill” Weasley, Charles “Charlie” Weasley, Percy Weasley, Fred Weasley, George Weasley, Ronald “Ron” Weasley, and Ginevra “Ginny” Weasley from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
The Weasley siblings are very close. Because of this, they trust each other and feel comfortable around each other.
Yue: Favourite star-crossed lovers
Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus “Gus” Waters from The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Hazel is a teenager with cancer. She carries an oxygen tank. Her mother forces her to attend a cancer support group, hoping that she might make a friend. She loathes what she sees as the false optimism of the group, but she attends to keep her mother happy. She knows she is going to die, but her mother wants her to have a normal life.
One afternoon, Hazel meets Gus, who is also in the cancer support group. His right leg has been replaced with a prosthetic. Hazel and Gus are attracted to each other almost immediately. After the meeting, she goes to his house. Hazel tells Gus about her favourite book, An Imperial Affliction by Peter Van Houten, which is about a teenager with cancer. Hazel relates to the book’s main character, Anna, in every way. Not only does Anna have cancer, but her thoughts and philosophies are similar to Hazel’s. The book ends with Anna’s death. Hazel wants to meet Peter and find out what happened to the other characters after Anna’s death. Gus promises to read the book and gives her his favourite book in return. The book is based on his favourite video game.
Hazel and Gus quickly become friends. They help their friend, Isaac, who lost his girlfriend and an eye because he is a cancer patient, to get over his breakup. Gus fulfills his promise to Hazel and reads An Imperial Affliction. He also wants to meet Peter and find out what happened to the other characters after Anna’s death.
Hazel tries to keep Gus at a safe distance because she knows she is dying. She knows that he has already been through a lot and her death will be a terrible blow he might not recover from. She considers herself a grenade and doesn’t want to hurt anyone when she explodes.
Hazel and Gus go to Peter’s house in Amsterdam. He is rude. Deflated, Hazel and Gus return to their hotel. They lose their virginity in his room. When they return to Hazel’s room, he tells her that his cancer has returned and is attacking every part of his body.
Gus begins radical chemotherapy treatments by taking drugs. The drugs do little to stop his cancer. They make him tired and sick. Hazel and Isaac try to be there for him at all times. One day, the trio decides to go to Isaac’s former girlfriend’s house. They throw eggs at her father’s car, and for a moment, they forget that they are cancer patients and revel in each other’s company.
Peter tells Hazel that his rudeness was due to his alcoholism and shares his sad life story with her. His daughter, Anna, died of cancer at the age of 8. He loved her so much that he wrote a book about her. Writing the book (An Imperial Affliction) gave her a second chance at life as a teenager.
Hazel is summoned to the hospital because Gus gets worse. He dies. At his funeral, Isaac gives her a letter from Gus. In the letter, Gus talks about how much he loved Hazel.
Blood bending: A book with a disturbing/unsettling concept
Night by Elie Wiesel
Night is a memoir that chronicles Elie Wiesel’s experiences as a child during the holocaust. I read it in either the seventh grade or the eighth grade. It was required reading for a history unit on the holocaust. It is a harrowing account of his time spent in concentration camps and the atrocities he witnessed and endured.
Toph: A character whose strength surprised you or other characters in the book
Can’t think of anyone
The Tales of Ba Sing Se: Best short story/poetry collection
I don’t read poems. All the short stories I’ve read were stand-alone stories.
Kyoshi Warriors: Best warrior character
Can’t pick
Zuko: Best redemption arc/a redemption arc that should have happened
Can’t think of anything
Iroh: Wisest character
Can’t pick
Azula: Best downfall
Can’t pick
Appa: Favourite fictional pet/animal
I don’t have a favourite fictional pet/animal
Aang: Purest cinnamon roll
Primrose “Prim” Everdeen from the book series The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Prim is compassionate and kind. She seems incapable of bearing any ill will. She becomes a healer at a young age, often helping her mother with patients. Despite all that happens, she manages to remain relatively optimistic. Animals love her. The Everdeen family’s cat, Buttercup, is nasty to everyone except her. This could be because she is the only one who seems to treat him with kindness. She has a pet goat. The goat is named Lady, and she was a birthday present. One day, a goat herder was milking Lady, who had a shoulder injury and was about to be sold to the butcher, but the butcher refused, saying half the carcass would be too rotten even for sausage. Katniss bought Lady at a low price and took her home, where an overjoyed Prim fixed her wound.
When Katniss leaves her family after being chosen for the Hunger Games, she doesn't bother suggesting that Prim learn to hunt because her attempts were disastrous. The woods terrified Prim, and whenever Katniss shot an animal, it would upset Prim and she would talk about how they might be able to heal it. Prim is a bright light in a sea of dark. Unfortunately, this doesn't prevent her from being killed.
Avatar State: A stubborn character/a character that struggles with letting go
A stubborn character: Elizabeth “Lizzie” Bennet from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Lizzie is stubborn, loyal, smart, and self-assured. She fights for her own happiness and is headstrong in her beliefs, such as marrying for love instead of for money or status, which was unfathomable for a Victorian society that saw marriage as purely transactional. She was willing to stay single until she found the right partner.

These Violent Delights Book Review
Tumblr media
These Violent Delights Book Review by Micah Nemerever
I love sharing my book opinions with others. One of the primary reasons I started this blog was to share my very strong
feelings as I didn’t have many people in real life that I could do that with (or who were interested in listening).
Throughout this experience, I’ve also loved listening to others and their opinions on books. Sometimes I agree with them, sometimes I vehemently disagree with them, and sometimes it’s a cacophonous mix of both.
One bookstragrammer I like in particular shares my very opinionated feelings more often than not. So of course, the other day while browsing Instagram, I caught a post of hers asking the question: what book can you not stand others criticizing?
This really got me thinking, as there are a plethora of books I adore, but I’m not blind to their flaws. The Foxhole Court, for example, is a book series I’ve read over three times now, a series I’m obsessed with, and yet I completely understand why others don’t like it.
The only book series that I could possibly see as fitting the question is Harry Potter. Now. I’ve met people who don’t like Harry Potter. That’s fine.
However, I also have yet to meet a single person who has read all seven books and still disliked it. Usually people who dislike Harry Potter either haven’t read the books, didn’t finish reading the books, or have only seen the movies. I’m sorry (not sorry) to say, but those people don’t count.
In the same vein, I was so incredibly curious to read a book that someone I admire claimed they hated seeing critiques of.
Let me say right now: I hope they don’t see this review.
These Violent Delights by Micah Nemerever is not to be confused with the Romeo and Juliet remake duology by the same name by Chloe Gong. The two books have nothing in common except for their title.
These Violent Delights by Michael Neveremer is an odd little book about two teenage boys growing up in the 1970’s in Pittsburgh.
As the two boys meet, named Paul and Julian respectively, they feel seen and understood by someone else for the first time in their entire lives.
The book delves into the dangers of codependency, issues of isolation and elitism, and the toxicity in the belief that no one else can understand what the characters are going through.
I do like the theme of this novel. I’m obsessed with the idea of someone feeling special or like they’re the exception. However, I usually like this (especially in Romantic pairings) in a positive way.
For example, one partner doesn’t like sharing food with friends or family but will let their romantic partner get away with it. Something small and cute and worthless.
This novel takes the idea of being the exception to intense and violent lengths as Julian and Paul do anything and everything to prove that they need nor want anyone but each other.
Mental health, intelligence, philosophy, and justice all play a role as the two boys grow closer and closer with devastating consequences.
This book, while entertaining in a dark and twisted kind-of-way, did make me want to keep turning the page as the book starts in medias res.
The first chapter shows you exactly how far these boys will go and the whole book is you leading up to the moment of climax and the aftermath of the climax as you witness Paul and Julian dealing with the consequences of their actions.
I know I haven’t been very detailed about what this book is or exactly what it’s about, but honestly, I’ve said almost all that I can. The book is less about plot points and specific timelines and more about the evolving relationship between Paul and Julian and the spiderweb effects it has both on them and the people around them.
This book is deeply psychological as well as thrillingly emotional.
It’s dark and creepy and more often than not, perplexing and convoluted.
Nemerever is a good writer, but at times I found him intentionally dense and confusing which I didn’t always appreciate while reading. I like the overall themes of this book and the ending was unexpected which is always, always a joy.
However, this book didn’t have a happy ending.
Maybe it was naive of me to think it would, but I still wanted it, no matter that these characters were too broken for something like a happy ending.
Overall, I disagree with my bookstagrammer entirely. While I enjoyed the dark maelstrom that was These Violent Delights, I don’t think it was without fault.
The sometimes pretentious writing, the inversion of a beloved trope, and the desolate ending all made me frown more than smile.
While the themes are very real and the book was richly driven by character relationships, it wasn’t enough at the end of the day to leave this book without any negatives.
Recommendation: If you enjoy dark stories with ambiguous characters where the plot revolves almost entirely around the progression and dissolution of a very intimate, punishing, and toxic relationship this very well may be the story for you. For me, the writing was often confusing and the paltry ending left me dissatisfied and unhappy. If you can stomach not getting your “happy ever after” this twisted tale will keep you on the edge of your toes.
Score: 6/10

Yooooooo I just finished The Heroine’s Journey by Gail Carriger and it was so good!!! I don’t read a ton of non-fiction, especially not about writing, but  I picked this book up because I love Gail Carriger’s writing (I’ve read most of her Parasolverse and I’m planning on reading her other series eventually) and it was definitely worth it! Would highly recommend to “writers, readers, and fans of pop culture” as it says on the cover.

7 Magical Fictitious Places I Wish I Could Visit
Have you ever had a world described to you so well that you wanted to dive into the pages and walk around right then and there. Me too, I think it’s something that every reader experiences at least one time in their lives. While it’s probably impossible to name all of them here is my list for the 7 fictional places id want to visit if they were real.
Gondor
Caraval
Hogwarts
Kings Landing
The Shire
Crescent City
Velaris
Gondor
Knowing me there had to be at least one Tolkien experience on this list. But Gondor is one of the first places I would want to visit if I got the chance to step into The Lord of the Rings. Not only is it a magnificent city carved in stone, but it seems like a place you could wander for hours and never get bored. There is just so much to see and experience that it has made it on to this list.
Caraval
This is a recent addition to my list, but Caraval seems like such a cool place to experience it had to be included. It’s a place full of mystery and magic and you never know if what you’re seeing is quite real or not adding even more to the experience. Caraval also changes regularly no experience is the same adding to the mystery and intrigue even more!
Hogwarts
I think anyone who has read or watched Harry Potter wants to visit Hogwarts and experience a sliver of what it’s like to go to that magical school wizard war or not. All the hidden rooms and crazy towers just make it seems like an amazing place and a must visit on my fantasy world tour. I’ve been to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter but I don’t think it’s quite the same. However, I think it’s as close as I’ll get to the real thing.
Kings Landing
A bit of an unexpected on but Kings Landing from the Game of Thrones Series seemed like a cool place (pre-destruction). The crazy architecture and mystical gardens really drew me in especially after I saw it come to life in the show. I think it would be a cool vacation spot.
The Shire
I couldn’t pick just one Tolkien town… The shire is also high on my places to visit if I could. I’m a farm girl at heart so a nice trip to the countryside living in a little hole in the ground sounds great. It’s also a place that I think would have some pretty good food and drinks based on Bilbos birthday party and Mary and Pippin’s green dragon dance who wouldn’t want to visit. Did you know that you can visit the Hobbiton set in New Zealand? It’s on my bucket list check it out here and let me know would you want to visit?
Crescent City
This one is a little bit different it’s not a high fantasy medieval city. But Crescent City from Sarah. J. Maas’ series with the same name sounds like a cool place. It would be like living in New York but there’s also magic and monsters. The best of both worlds, right?! I think so… It would be even better id Bryce was my roommate so I could hang out with one of the coolest characters there is.
Velaris
Finally, the number one top place I would visit of I could. Velaris, the city of Starlight. Those 4 words hooked me the first time I read them, and it just kept getting better and better. Another Sarah. J. Maas world but I couldn’t help it she has built up this world so well and described it as such a magical and happy place how could I not want to visit.
I realize a lot of these places sound similar what can I say I have a type… dark and magical. If you couldn’t already tell I would recommend any of these stories in a heartbeat and if you want some other suggestions, be sure to check out my blog for more!

The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare (7/17/17)
If you are a viewer of the podcast then you know that I've been reading this series for the last few months. But don't worry, I finally had finished the books, so you no longer have to hear me mumble on and on about it. I had finished the sixth and last book in the series just to other day and thought, what better way to get back into blogging than a book/series review? Well, I don't really want to call this a review, it's more of a recommendation. Because I think that more people need to read these books. I had first read the first four books when I was in high school. At the time only the four were out, so I was stuck with a major cliff-hanger while waiting for the fifth to be released. Sadly though, it took me a while to pick them up again, other books and life stuff happened. During that gap, I did complete my collection of the series by adding the last two to my library and the author had written a prequel series. She had also written an add-on book and two spin-off series, a movie (that sadly, wasn't that great) and a TV series on Free Form. So it had gained a lot of attention in the last few years since I had first read them. Which it deserves, it's a great Young Adult series. Cassandra Clare does a great job with creating characters that you can relate to and builds a world around them that you can lose yourself in. She is influenced by J K Rowling and had started writing Harry Potter fanfiction and you can really tell by the way the Shadow world is fleshed out in her descriptions. I would say her books would fall into the Fantasy genre. It's full of supernatural creatures; demons, angels, werewolves, vampires, and fairies, and lore surrounding them. You follow the main character, Clary, on her journey into finding her way through being a Shadowhunter and solving some major family problems. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a series you want to lose yourself in. Check it out! If you want to leave a suggestion on what you want to see on the blog and/or podcast leave a comment below or in the Ravelry group. Also, if you want to be up to date on what I've been reading lately and you don't keep up with the podcast, then add me on Goodreads. Happy Reading!

I’m mei/daisy, I’m 19, and I run this blog! You may use any/all pronouns on me, and I'm always here if you need to chat :) This is a writing blog for the marauders era of harry potter, star wars, criminal minds, top gun, and stranger things! I write sfw and nsfw, and i ask minors not to interact with anything nsfw. doing so will result in a block.
masterlist / ko-fi / faq / hybrid au faq
latest fics: Love to Lie - Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw x Reader (Part 1) / Break, Bite, Bang - Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw x Reader (18+) / Hungry Like The Wolf - Remus Lupin x Reader (18+)
latest milestone: 25K followers
my asks/requests are: open / closed
Tumblr media
Please check the tag #faq to see if your question has been answered before asking it!
Sometimes my masterlists aren't updated frequently. I suggest after perusing those to scroll through character tags if you want to see my entire library of work. I am working on updating it.
I do not condone the reposting of my work onto other websites. My writing is my writing, if you want to post a story, write your own.
I don't do taglists. They are a lot of work on my part, and they get out of hand quickly. Please do not ask to be tagged.
Any useless, brainless hate mail will be deleted without being given a second thought. I use my time wisely and i won't waste it on a cheap insult, so i suggest you do the same with your own time and don't bother wasting it on a message i'll never care about
To request, I need a plotline and and a character. ‘Fluff’ is not a plotline, ‘part 2’ is not a plotline, ‘sub!reader’ is not a plotline, etc. You’ll have to give me a specific event or series of events to write about if you want me to write about them. If your request is missing one of those components, it will not be written.
Please don't ask if I've stopped writing for a character just because I haven't for a few days. This puts pressure on me and comes off like a guilt trip. Unless I've officially stated that I don't write for them anymore, I still write for them.
Please do not send your request twice. There's a 99% chance that I got it the first time, and sending it twice might actually dissuade me from writing it at all. I have a lot of asks in my inbox, and when people start sending in requests twice or even three times, it clutters things up and makes it very hard for me to work with what I've got.
Please don’t ask to be mutuals! I’m not against the idea of interacting with any of you, on the contrary, I’m very happy to talk to each and every one of you, regardless of whether we follow each other or not. However, I don’t like being asked to do a follow-for-follow situation. It doesn’t usually end up benefitting either party. If you’d like to be my mutual, please don’t ask, just try interacting with me! I’m happy to engage with people who engage with me. I love making mutuals, I just want it to happen naturally, or it doesn’t feel genuine. Thank you!
Please do not send me a request that you’ve copied and pasted into other authors’ inboxes. I suggest not doing this to anyone, but I have a particularly low tolerance for it. It can create some sticky ‘plagiarism/copying’ situations, and it makes me feel like a machine, not an individual person. Please respect me and other authors by valuing us and our work, not just spamming requests for free content. If I find out that a request I’ve been sent has also been sent to other authors word for word, I will delete it immediately, and if I find out after the fact that I’ve written a blurb that someone else wrote with the exact same prompt before me, I will most likely take mine down.
Please do not request anywhere but my inbox. That is where I keep them all so that they’re organized and don’t get forgotten about, so if you message them to me or use one of my other posts as your request form, your comment will most likely be ignored. I can’t keep up with all of them unless you put them in the right place, I’m sorry.

This blog is a safe space for people. Do not interact if you are homophobic, transphobic, sexist, racist, ableist, etc. I have no tolerance for intolerance, and no matter your skin color, ethnicity, gender identity, pronouns, sexuality, religion, etc, you are welcome here. I write mostly AFAB/Fem!readers, but upon request I will write AMAB/Masc!readers, or I will specify an ethnicity if you ask for it. I will also write autistic!reader, trans!reader, non-binary!reader, or specific religions if you want to request for them. Requesting Rules:
NO:
cheating (on reader)
pedophilia
scat
puke
bestiality
rape
age play
rpf (Real Person Fiction; i don't write for real people! just their characters)
canon compliant war-centric fics about the marauders. I don’t have any interest in writing about the war, or any adjacent events, I’m sorry. I’m perfectly fine writing post-war fics or pre-war fics but I’m just trying to pretend it never happened and I’d appreciate it if you’d send me stuff for them that lets me do that </3
singing or dancing (done by reader) to amaze and impress everyone around them. if that's what you like, go ahead, i'm happy you're happy. but the scenario gives me massive second hand embarrassment, and I can't bring myself to write about it, sorry
songfics: i need to appreciate and understand the song on an analytical level to be able to write an entire fanfiction surrounding it, and that's something I can only manage with songs that i personally love and listen to. if you ask me to write you a songfic and i haven't even heard the song before, i won't be able to do your request justice.
reader teaching a character to do a certain hobby/sport, or a character teaching the reader that. let me explain: i don't know how to pitch a softball, so if you're going to ask me to write about teaching remus to pitch a softball, i don't know how to do that. it all comes down to me and my hobbies and my knowledge, of course, but common plotlines like being taught how to roll a blunt/smoke one, being taught how to play a sport, teaching a character to do a makeup routine, etc, are not skills that i have in my wheelhouse, and therefore plotlines that i wouldn't try to write about.

This isn't a question, but... the more I see your posts the more James/Sirius makes sense and the less I ship Wolfstar. The posts you write/share are so lovely and poignant
ah thank you! I love finding james/sirius posts and so many of them are perfect. I don’t engage with wolfstar and I’ve given myself the mission of pushing the james/sirius agenda on tumblr so my blog very much amplfies the james/sirius bias (and i’m glad it’s working!).
I think it’s definitely one of those no-going-back, once-you-see-it-you-can’t-unsee-it ships. I was big into jily back in the day and wolfstar was sometimes a sidepairing for that but since getting into james/sirius (10 years ago) i cannot read those pairings at all, which is probably quite extreme because I know a lot of people enjoy james and sirius paired with each other as well as other characters but i can’t see room for anyone else
they are so fundamental to each others’ characters and what we know of both characters as much as they’re distinct and discernable as individuals, meeting a kid on the first day of school and trusting him with your life ten years later is huge. how can you not be shaped and changed enormously by a strong, instantaneous, extremely trusting and tolerant bond like that?
as much as I believe both of them in canon valued remus and peter and later lily, i think they were always each other’s #1, always the person they each trust the most and i absolutely believe that they viewed themselves two parts of a whole, or part of the same soul (insert heartbreaking wuthering heights quote). they’re soulmates, essentially.
what we hear of them in the books constantly pushes them as a pair separate of their foursome. sirius mentions james where james doesn’t need to be mentioned - “I spent too much time in detention (with james)”, “she was a few years above (your dad and) me”. in snape’s worst memory they’re in sync, distinctly separate on a physical and i guess moral level here -  “ Sirius and James stood up. Lupin and Wormtail remained sitting” . james panders to sirius’ darker instincts (completely awful, but which i think shows a more-than-is-typical awareness of sirius’ instincts and the way he thinks and what he takes pleasure and thrill from, as well as an active move to satisfy those, but i also think it wouldn’t be as conscious as that in james’ mind).
sirius says that he might ‘break the tradition’ of proud, aristocratic family for a kid he’s only just met, they have two-way mirrors because they can’t get through detention apart (also how do they do that? aren’t they supervised? do they just look at each other for comfort?). like honestly how rude and inconsiderate if they flaunted them in front of peter and remus but i think that speaks to their assumption that their exceptional bond is understood and accepted by everyone else. which going off prisoner of azkaban and the conversation harry overhears, it was - “Never saw one without the other, did you?”, “Inseparable!”, “Quite the double act”, “Potter trusted Black beyond all his other friends”
there’s such a depth to their relationship that is explored in maybe five main sections across the series yet is depicted as unequivocal in a way that i think few other relationships or even friendships in it are. it’s certainly more than we ever see of james and lily in a relationship together that it eventually got to an undeniable, unavoidable point for me. there’s so much emotion involved from the few lines we have about them that makes it very easy to go from seeing them as friends, brothers, platonic soulmates to full-blown requited, romantic partners
it does still baffle me sometimes that a romantic interpretation of james/sirius isn’t more common because imo they’re ready-made for it and best friends are quite regularly paired together in many other fandoms. but at the same time what is out there is really beautiful when you find it, even if it takes longer to narrow down, especially if you want james/sirius without a third partner or without an overlap of other ships, or as an endgame thing rather than a lighthearted precursor to other ships.
anyway sorry I made this a whole Thing but i feel i can never fully explain james/sirius and why it’s so enduring and elevated for me (especially without having to split it off into 537172 different posts) so I always end up rambling but thank you for this message, I hope your james/sirius journey continues, I’m always always up for talking about them or rec’ing stuff and I always enjoy seeing your posts on the black family and fandom! <3
