Opinion on WhistleFrost: do you see it as platonic or is there something more there in your eyes? If seen as romantic, how high are the odds that they’ll be a canon couple in the rewrite in some way? I know you say no changes done until the arc is done but I gotta know what your brain is thinking about them in the moment because they are my favoritist thing ever rn

I definitely see them as not entirely platonic. They're giving me big Mothwing/Leafpool vibes.

It's the way that whenever they're at their lowest, the only person that could come through to them was the other. Throat slashed and losing blood fast, her mother's command to trust no cat swirling in her fading mind, Frostpaw's heart still guided her towards Whistlepaw. The whole world crashing down, her Clan having punished and mocked her for how she'd helped her friend, the only one who could pull Whistlepaw out of her self-destructive desperation to save her sister was Frostpaw.

Like they remain the one stable thing in the chaos. I'm reminded of the way Leafpool was afraid Mothwing wouldn't belive a vision she had, especially knowing she was faithless, and she simply responded, "I believe in you, Leafpool."

So when it comes to BB, I know that there needs to be one or two significant moments where Frostpaw's love of Whistlepaw makes her realize things about herself. One of them I'm pretty deadset on.

Instead of it being Smoky that goes against Frostpaw's wishes while she's injured, violating her trust in him, and this somehow NOT causing a massive backslide in Frostpaw's tentative ability to trust people (thanks i hate it), Frostpaw realizes that she's forcing Whistlepaw to watch her die.

Whistlepaw is too inexperienced to deal with these injuries, but she's doing everything Frostpaw asks. She didn't grab her mentor. She isn't going to the humans. She's desperately trying to treat her best friend and feeling her slip away below her paws.

How can Frostpaw let this happen? Whistlepaw loves her so much, she'll lose her. It's then that she lurches up from her deathbed, drags herself out onto the moor, and calls the humans.

In BB, they're a team of researchers who study the Clan cats. It's why they were able to field dress her so easily, as opposed to this... random horse farmer who happens to carry a syringe of cat tranquilizer in their pocket. Minor detail that bugs me more than it should lmao.

BUT that aside... I need to know how ASC ends before considering if they can be a canon couple or not. As much as they love one another, I feel like it's unlikely Whistlepaw would leave WindClan, and she is a Cleric subject to the Vow.

Skin-Deep Chapter 10

summary: The one where you fall for Seungcheol amongst all the protests and insecurities. The one where you don't know that he's fallen for you too.

a/n: Last chapter of part 2!!! I'm halfway through part 3 rn, i think i'll release it tomorrow or day after :D

You hadn’t heard from Seungcheol ever since he dropped you off. 

The car ride from his parent’s place was spent in silence. 

You were processing the whole event, not knowing what to say to your boyfriend. 

Seungcheol was pissed beyond belief, he blamed himself for the whole night. He had unknowingly brought you into a lion’s den. He should have known his parents would be like this, he should have been better prepared. 

Instead of driving to his place, he drove straight back to your dormitory. He held your hand the entire time as the two of you walked towards your room door, only letting go when you worked on opening the door.

Once opened, you walked right into your room when you noticed he wasn’t next to you. He was still standing outside your room. 

“Cheol?” You tilted your head, giving him a curious stare. 

“Sorry babe, I hope you don’t mind if I don’t stay over tonight.” Seungcheol said, watching as you approached him. 

“Oh.” You were taken a back, your eyes searching his. “Sure.”

“I just need to-“ He cleared his throat, reaching out to grab your hand. “I just need to clear my head.” 

He kissed the back of your hand, offering you a tired smile. 

You watched his retreating figure as he headed for the main doors, you could hear the loud engine of his car from your room as he drove away.

That was the last you time you saw him and that was a week ago. 

Right now, you were sitting in Mingyu’s kitchen, slumped over the counter as you watched your best friend whip up a meal for the two of you. 

“I don’t understand what is wrong with him.” Mingyu muttered to himself, not caring if you heard him. 

“I should have trusted my gut, I knew he was a shithead.” Mingyu continued, stirring the noodles with an unnecessary amount of force. 

“Ok, Gyu, I think you’ve abused the food enough.” You attempt to joke, only shrivelling up at the look Mingyu turned to give you.

“You forgive people too easily, y/n.” Mingyu bit out, before turning back and resuming his monologue. “Who does he think he is? Disappearing on you like that?” 

You pursed your lips. You didn’t tell Mingyu about the night with Seungcheol’s parents. Not wanting to be responsible for a string of murders you knew your best friend was capable of committing. 

“Gyu, it’s fine. Hannie and Josh-“

“Yea, yea, Hannie and Josh says its normal” Mingyu raised the pitch of his voice in an attempt to imitate yours. He waved the chopsticks he was holding around, effectively splashing soup everywhere. 

“I don’t care what Hannie and Josh says, he’s being a dickhead.” Mingyu said, pushing a bowl of noodles in your direction. 

You shrugged. 

You spent the first two days of your boyfriend’s disappearance calm, thinking that he was probably with his parents again.

By the third day, you were starting to lose your mind. You didn’t understand why Seungcheol still hadn’t returned any of your calls or replied your messages. 

Both Jeonghan and Joshua had woken up to 50 missed called each. Poor Joshua who woke up earlier had the misfortune of listening to you monologue while you bawled your eyes out over the phone. He reassured you that he would get back to you when he knew where Seungcheol was, he didn’t know what else to say when you were so frantic. 

You did end up receiving a text from Jeonghan at the end of the day, passing along a message from Seungcheol saying he was fine and to stop contacting him for awhile. You were dumbstruck, sending questions mark as a response where Jeonghan replied with “I have no idea bro, don’t shoot the messenger.”

Day four, five and six were spent in your bed, you weren’t sure how to feel. Were you supposed to be sad? Were you supposed to be worried? You weren’t sure what was happening, were the two of you over? Did he realise you just weren’t good enough for him? Did he realise that his parents were right? 

That brings you to day seven, at Mingyu’s house. 

You went over at midnight, not wanting to be alone. Mingyu opened the door thinking it was some psycho dedicated girl scout coming to sell him cookies in the middle of the night. To his surprise it was you standing at his door step. 

He ushered you inside and sat you down in his living room. He basically threw a cup of warm water at you before running to ready one of the guest rooms. 

Your best friend sat in the room, not leaving until you fell asleep. Mingyu was so worried, you looked like you hadn’t slept in decades, you were so pale and your skin was ice cold. He was 5 seconds away from driving you to the hospital. 

So sue him if he was severely upset with a one Choi Seungcheol. 

Mingyu angrily slurped on his noodles, throwing the bowl into the sink when he was done 

“These noodles aren’t spicy enough!” 

“Ok, Gyu, you need to relax. You’re stressing me out.” You say as your poor attempt to lighten the mood. You kept your eyes trained on the bowl of noodles as you stirred it absent-mindedly.  

Mingyu huffed and stormed off to let off some steam. 

You pulled out your phone, a small part of you hoped to get a missed call from your boyfriend or at least a text. You sigh when you saw that your notification box was still empty. 

DING!

Just as you were about to put your phone away, you received a text message. 

I can’t do this anymore, let’s end things.

Your eyes widened, it was from Seungcheol. This was the first text you’d gotten from him in days. And he wanted to break up?

Your fingers flew over the keyboard.

What? Did something happen?

Only to be met with an error message. He had blocked you. 

You sat frozen on the bar stool. The bowl of noodles forgotten in front of you.

Gathering all your energy, you dialled the first number you could think of. 

“Vernon, I want to go home.”
