Imagine This #11 - Imaginary Friend

They would tap you on the shoulder. A little poof of sensation that lets you know they're there.

"Hey. Heyyyyy."

"What?!" You look up from your phone. "Why are you bothering me? Can't you see I'm busy?"

Their face is barely visible with smudgy lines hinting at eyes. They are always harder to see when you're distracted and not paying attention. Their lips turn down in a pout.

"You said you were going to do that thing, remember? You have a huge list of things to do."

"Yes? I'm still going to do them," you grumble, looking back at your phone.

"You said that an hour ago. Then you opened Tumblr."

"I'm just checking my notifications," you whine. "Five more minutes."

"That will turn into another hour of scrolling. It can wait."

They reach and their hand becomes tangible. They snatch your phone right out of your hands and nudge you gently.

"Go and do what you need to do. I'll give you your phone back afterward."

You toss your hands in the air and complain, but you get your work done.
