Like, the only part of it that's actually angry is the one eyebrow. He's angry, but that anger is deeply rooted in fear or is a poor attempt to hide it. It's so good!

I love his stance too!!! It looks more like a flinch than a proper defensive stance. The way his hands are clenched makes me think that his hands are trembling and he's trying to hide it. He looks like he's going to pull some of his hair out. Sir! You're going to hurt yourself!
