Out of all your ocs who would you say was the hardest to design/draw?
I hope this includes OCs outside of Colorquest, because Corbin is definitely the hardest for me right now:
(That's him for those who don't know)
It's weirdly really hard to find equilibrium for his face, like, if his hair is just a little too high or low, or the strands dont spike out in the specific way that they do, or if his little conture lines are too off... it's just super hard to nail down.
But he's also much newer than a lot of my other OCs, so the struggle is expected ^^;.

I hope this doesn't come off rude, I mean it genuinely.
Is there an actual plot to Call of Duty? I always thought it was just pvp battlegrounds, but does the game have a storyline or single player mode? I tried to Google this, but the results are ambiguous. I've see your fic for it and just wondered if the greater universe is a fanon construction.
Thank you!
Hi Nonnie!
Never be afraid to ask questions, there are no silly ones. Especially when it comes to my current hyperfixation, lol!
There is an actual plot to Call of Duty! The one I'm currently obsessing over is the "reboot" version of Modern Warfare which started with now has Modern Warfare I (the 2019 game), Modern Warfare II (the 2022 game) and Modern Warfare III (the 2023 game).
The obsession with Soapghost came from the Modern Warfare II (2022) game where those two idiots are hopelessly in love share a lot of scenes together and their banter is absolutely delicious.
There is a storyline and a singler player mode, where you play as different characters and do different missions.
Here's a list of links to the different "single player" games that contain most of the plot that fandom abides by (no commentary, so you just sit and watch someone play the game for 3+ hours):
Modern Warfare I 2019
Modern Warfare II 2022
Modern Warfare III 2023
Each of the games have smaller expansion packs that are also single player called seasons (which give a little background info). They're not absolutely necessary for the comprehension of the greater story! (I couldn't find playthroughs, but I know they exist).
The Call of Duty lore is a bit like Marvel though in that there are different games (Call of Duty: Ghosts is one, Call of Duty 4 is actually Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1 from 2007 and Modern Warfare 2 from 2009 is-- anyways, you get the gist, lol!)
Fandom have taken some characters from the different franchises and storylines (like Roach, he's from 2009 and hasn't been in the reboot series, but we love our gremlin boy) and never let them go.
Most of the characters Modern Warfare focuses on is Captain John Price, the leader of task force 141, Sergeant Kyle "Gaz" Garrick, Sergeant John "Soap" MacTavish and Lieutenant Simon "Ghost" Riley. There are other characters (Kate Laswell who is CIA (also canonically has a wife!), Alex Keller, also CIA, Farah Karim, Urzikstan Rebellion, etc.) that we all love, but those are the main couple of characters.
Characters like König, Horangi, Krüger & the others are from multiplayer mode and do not appear in the main single player campaign. Most of the traits from those characters are fanon or fanbased, taken off what little information we have from them in their audios or operator bios.
Hope this helped, otherwise don't hesitate, I'd love to give more info ♥

Happy Inktober Goatober!
@foolofabookwyrm-activated came up with the perfect prompt list for 2022!
Day 28: Pajamas
I got ahead of myself and drew baby goats in snowbaz jammies on Day 8. : Link
So for today I decided to draw snowbaz in goat pajamas. That works, right?
I was looking for a good cuddling pose and I want to credit this Sans Undertale drawing for being my inspiration : Link
Day 26 - Storm : Link

Quill, I have been going insane about elven clothing and am going to share some thoughts with you, whether you like it or not
Okay, so the whole "multi-layered outfits" make sense for elves who live in a place like Dex's house, which is canonically in a colder places. They need layers to live comfortably, and that makes sense. So I will give Dex a pass on not wearing shorts or short sleeved clothing.
But then I remember the Foxfire uniform and I am full of rage.
They. Are. In. A. DESERT.
Why are they wearing a uniform with a cape (yes I know the cape is decorative but still it is making them warmer)? I have worn American style clothing in Pakistan, which is similar temps to Foxfire, and it is not very comfortable. How are they not sweating buckets? I personally would have them wearing light clothing to help counteract the heat. (Sheer clothing would not be a good idea tho due to the risk of sunburns.)
Also, they really should have embroidery on their clothes! America might not have very decorated clothes, but if you look at a lot Asian clothing, especially more traditional styles, there is so much embroidery and detail in them. That is what I think of when I think of elven clothes, because they should be nicer than our normal clothing.
So like Shannon should have probably used clothes to make a point about show not tell but what can we do about it? Anyway, apologies for rambling, I just had thoughts.
-⚙️
P.S. If you do draw the keeper crew in your clothes, I would be very interested in them. I am fascinated (in a good way) by your sense of style as someone who has the opposite issue with needing to cover up all the time
Well lucky for you, I do like it! You make some excellent points--though your comment about Dex living in a colder climate does make me think. Sure, he lives in a colder climate, but how much time does he spend there?
You know how when Della goes shopping for Sophie, she thinks "Was she going to be wearing five outfits a day?" (p. 126). Since the elves can and do move so rapidly from climate to climate, it's gotta be near impossible to have one outfit suited to the entire day--at least the way the kotlcrew are living life. Maybe when Dex gets dressed at home the layers make sense, but if he's immediately going to somewhere hot like Foxfire, he'll be overdressed. My point in referencing that quote is maybe instead of having so many clothes as part of their wealth, it's instead because they change frequently throughout the day when they go somewhere new.
You're very right about the Foxfire uniforms though--tight, black clothing in layers has got to be one of the worst possible options for the climate. Loose, light colors and material would be best--perhaps we can add back some color in the embroidery; each level decorated in their corresponding color. And yes, sheer fabric wouldn't work well here, but perhaps could be found more commonly in elven garb in less extreme climates. They'd either need something like that or Foxfire has some killer air conditioning
There's a lot of possibilities! Different ways to interpret and tackle "loose, light clothes with embroidery", which makes it a never ending interesting convo :)
