I really really hope you're right, this just killed my motivation for everything. What happened with Solomare's story jar already left a bad taste in my mouth too.

I know I'll feel better in a few days, but I felt lied to when they said they'd continue the story and the app. And it's going to be even lighter and fluffier and a replacement for the main story line? One that new players will perfectly fit into? I was so looking forward to learning more about what would happen to Simeon.

Also not announcing it until last minute? For once I'm really glad I can barely afford food, because I'd be devastated if I had spent even a dollar. But maybe that's just me being poor.

I'm mostly likely going to stop writing for a while until I've archived everything important from the app, which is gonna take ages just in case anyway.

But anyway, are there any recent events you thought were better than usual? I've been too sick to grind lately so I haven't unlocked them. I want to know which ones to archive as soon as possible once the six months are up.

Sorry for bringing the mood down and the rant, but you seem to be the only positive one I follow that isn't outright calling people stupid or pathetic for being upset so I'm really hoping your positivity rubs off on me.

I do hope you keep posting for Nightbringer too! I have several issues with my hands so I don't think I'll ever be able to see the end of the og story line, and I especially love your analyses out of anyone else's.

Okay okay so they are continuing the og app and continuing the story, the only difference is they'll be continuing the mainstory in nightbringer and the og app will just be getting events. So the og app will continue the way it has since the end of s4 and new main story content will be uploaded to nightbringer (the devs did says this)

Not sure what happened with story jar but Obey Me! is solmare's most popular game. Objectively, nothing solmare has created has ever come near to reaching om! And I'm talking purely in the money making side of it - the anime? mangas? songs? merch? cons? VAs getting heavily involved in everything? Solmare's a business. As long as there's a fandom and a demand for it they're not gonna kill the og app.

Plus the majority of om's content is on the og app, with new content and old events still being released. If they wanted to kill the og app they'd stop releasing new content and updating lonely devil.

Since nightbringer will be continuing the mainstory from where they left off, they'd also need to move all of S1-4 the chats, call & devilgrams to nightbringer if they were gonna kill the og - and I'd imagine that's more hassle than it's worth

I do think we'd learn more about what happened to simeon;

• devs said they'd be continuing the main story in nightbringer so that'd include simeon

• nightbringer's current plot is about time travel and mc trying to find a way back home - so they will end up back in the current time at some point, where simeon's whole thing can be addressed

• s3 established that luke wasn't alive when the brothers were angels. If they intended to keep mc in the past they'd either have to scrap luke's entire character (?????) or retcon s3 which so far dropped the most lore

• thirteen (who's supposed to turn into a LI)'s first visit to the devildom happens in s4 and in nightbringer's op we see her in Diavolo's castle. Which means we're seeing the present timeline as well

....i think you're maybe panicking a bit too much? You definitely don't need to archive anything anytime soon. For well all of the reasons I mentioned above.... Maybe someday you'd have to but definitely not right now

No worries! And Yeah I think the thing people are forgetting is that Nightbringer is STILL Obey Me! I'm definitely going to be still talking about it

Looking at the login bonus stuff again and yeah...compared to past celebrations. This is a sad replacement for celebrating HDD in og...

Best stuff here to get is the 80 dp, 6 vouchers, 1 SSR voucher and 1 UR voucher. As well the card of course.

Yes the vouchers are nice to have, but they don't guarantee you new cards of course. I'll still take them, but it'll never be better than what we lost.

Which was 10x free pulls, and new cards specifically made to celebrate the HDD event.

As well we could of just had Nightmare revivals at least, which just absolutely stopped. And I wonder if/when NB has them there. Will og have them too, or just be left out on that too?

There's just so much sad changes for og OM, that I can't see this game going on strongly for long anymore...The shared events do only so much for og when NB has better benefits in the end in comparison.

I'm sad I got into this game/series later than others, because in my short time with it, I've grown to love it so much. But as quickly as I grown to love it and just can't see my life without it now. Quickly I'm seeing it just come crashing down before me...And for others too of course...

I'm sure devs think NB will help us move on from og in time and replace it in general with what I fear will be a soft reboot or such...But I don't want to let og OM go. And don't want anymore retconning or potential reboots.

Also its bullshit to give up on a game for another, and pretend its not special or important anymore. When the fact stands right there and always will...OM! NIGHTBRINGER WOULD OF NEVER HAPPENED IF IT WEREN'T FOR OG OM!, AND NB IS NOTHING WITHOUT OG OM.

So yeah...rant over...I'm just so disappointed in the devs rn. og OM and its players, and OM fans in general, deserve so much better.

✨ NEWS ABOUT NIGHTBRINGER ✨

The developers and translators of Obey me are currently holding an "Ask me anything" event on Reddit and while I'm sure the news about it are already being spread through the whole fandom, I thought it would be cool to share them here in case someone hasn't seen them + to share my opinions about it!

ABOUT THE ORIGINAL OBEY ME + NEW LESSONS AFTER LESSON 80

Well, I bring bad news:

I already suspected it but now it's clear: the original Obey me game will stop having story updates. It will only get events because new lessons are directly going to be added to Nightbringer.

First, I would like to recommend something because I've seen it happen with other franchises (and I hope it doesn't happen with OM but better be safe than sorry):

Try to play up until lesson 80 as soon as you can (and don't spend too much money/time on your cards in the original game)

In some franchises, when they release a new game and stop updating the main story in the previous one, that just means that original game is getting closer to being abandoned or close its servers because it's expensive to run the servers for more than one game. It wouldn't be weird if like one year from now they would announce the original obey me is closing.

Also, people have asked about it but the devs have not answered those questions so we don't know if there will be any option to transfer your cards to the new game (more likely it won't)

So I wanted to see what you guys think about it! (yeah, I totally meant to do this. It's not like I accidentally clicked the poll button and now since I'm writing this on mobile it doesn't let me erase it idk why)

ABOUT THE LORE

More disappointments to me, honestly (and there's more to come).

I'm talking about the "being closer to how they were in the Celestial realm" thing.

I am a first season + enemies to lovers lover so I was hoping we could get a replay of that, maybe even better if the brothers are newly born demons and have their traumas and fears as fresh as they can. I hoped we could come back to the threats, them trying to k*ll us, them not trusting us and seeing us only as a simple lowly human... And seeing how love finds a way between all of that.

That's what I hoped but oh boy have those hopes been crashed. We know they've toned it down a lot it OM since we are in relationships with them, but I hoped they could give us that content in Nightbringer... Seems I was trusting too much.

And about the pacts thing... How is it that we are going to make pacts in the past if we had to make them in the future already...? Wondering how this would play out

Also, this scares me. In various answers they've said you can perfectly enjoy Nightbringer without playing Obey me. But they've also said the story will eventually continue from lesson 80 in Nightbringer.

I hope we are not up for another "rewriting the future" plot here... Because if people with 0 knowledge of the lore can play Nightbringer and then continue from lesson 81 fully without playing the previous 80 lessons... Either we will have a completely different timeline or they're adding those 80 lessons to the game eventually. (I hope it's the latter. If they rewrite the lore I'll be mad)

ABOUT ROMANCE

Good and maybe bad news here.

First, side characters (including Thirteen, Raphael and Mephisto, as they hinted at in another answer) will be romanceable!!

But it seems that even if we don't have routes, they've tried to make the dynamics of "dating one brother" more detailed. Which I love and scares me at the same time because I have like 4-5 favourites in the game. But they've said you can still date multiple of them so I hope they maintain that feature like in the other game

Also, IMPORTANT: I couldn't take a picture of this answer but they also said that, specially in calls, they've tried to put emphasis in how the rest of characters react to us flirting/dating another character. That can be a really cool feature to the game or can make us feel bad. We will have to wait and see

Diavolo (OM)

Very much means well and can be pretty sweet sometimes. Very upbeat and enthusiastic about most things. Have had some moments where I thought he was a bit shady, but he usually has his reasons. Has pulled at my heartstrings a few times too (the colosseum scene with him and MC in L24 and where I'm currently at, Lesson 37, where he apologizes that MC might have to sever their pacts with the seven brothers because MC's Power of Love and Friendship is too strong, it's actively destroying the three realms, just, ugh, it's okay bro.)

Mozart (IkeVamp)

I'll start off by saying I'm not the biggest of tsuns. Like, I can get some of the appeal, but it's not my cup of tea.

But, when I played with him in events (out of not much else interest for the other presented suitors), he was playful and the most thoughtful partner. Like, he actively asks for consent, makes sure MC is okay when they get up to their sexy antics (and I think there was an event where the suitors were comforting MC after a traumatizing experience and my bro Mozart comes with hot beverages and back rubs like, dude, I love you). His friendship with Jean is also one of my favorite things about the game. He's also not afraid to go rescue MC with a gun, like, my bro, that's badass of you.

I guess I'll say I like Mozart more on a platonic level, but his sharp tongue might be a bit too much for me on a romantic level.

Leon (IkePri)

Dashing hero types usually are my type. Even with the dev notes from cybirb released about him comparing him to IkeVamp's Napoleon and IkeSen's Masamune (both of which are favs of mine), he should have a recipe for a perfect match for me.

Except… that I kinda find him a lil boring.

What I love about Naps and Masamune was their character growth over their routes (Masa esp in his Eternal End and Act 2), but with Leon, he doesn't really change much over the course of the story. With other suitors thus far, most of them have their share of character growth when MC comes into their lives, whether that's helping them learn compassion or to help them heal the scars of their pasts, but I didn't reall- get that sense of change like I did with the others with Leon. He's still the upstanding, good natured guy that he was from the beginning of his route, we just happened to unlock his tragic backstory.

I just think he's more okay than anything. He hasn't done anything to royally piss me off, but he also hasn't done much to pull my heartstrings or make me actively take an interest in him. He's just kind of… there.
