#I'm taking a break from Divergent & reading a book without a big following (How Rory Thorne Destroyed the Multiverse) and #I'm being asked... to join the main characters in harshly judging a baby #for crying a lot & being needy #the baby is currently a small child & the narrative is assuring me that he legitimately has bad character #I'm told he's very bossy & it makes an adult character sad & his sister resents him for it bc it stresses out the adult character #overall the story is entertaining & worth reading! the book isn't like. Bad #it's just interesting to me to see the author so certain that this... this baby... is at the top of a power dynamic that hurts other people #the author seems to be laying the foundation for a feminist point about gender discrimination in childhood #boys getting away with stuff & girls being expected to be dutiful #but adults create that... #I promise that there is no baby in the world who has bad character & hurts adults & siblings out of malicious baby-entitlement #pretty sure the needing things situation is standard with babies #no thank you to this invitation! I do not resent the baby! please write some more about the baby growing up #I'll reconsider judgment then!
