archway stencils
i keep forgetting to post about this. I did my archway stencils this past week!

I futzed around a little and this was the direction that worked. I'd thought about just doing that central element and repeating it freehand, but this was easier to line up..... but then to finish it, i would have to do TWO additional passes with the stencil, one on each side.

I had Help. she wanted me to do this instead of paint. The whole time. She was incredibly persistent.

I had experimented with just plopping the central element over this corner thing, and using that to fill in all the rest at once, but you see how the central element has long diamond-shaped "petals", but the other one has the shorter inward-pointing "petals" in the middle, and then longer petals on the sides? Yeah the longer petals are not shaped like the central element's, even though they look similar-- they are wider throughout. So to blend them with the half-petal deposited by the first pass of the stencil, it looks wonky as hell. And it does look better having a fully different element for every other star, instead of a blended sort-of-weird half-different one. So the long hard way it is; I went all the way down doing the left half then went to the other doorway and did the left half and then came back and did the right half, in totally separate passes, because you can see you have to tape the stencil down over the existing element, and if it were at all damp you're ripping paint off when you do that.
This stencil company does make specific border stencils for some of their designs, and I sort of thought this one was intended for that kind of use, but clearly it's not. I mean it worked fine so I'm not actually annoyed, but I did have to think about it a lot.
Some process notes: I did not use specialty stencil creme for this, I used my sample pot of a slightly lighter shade of the paint I used for the walls. it was semi-gloss because that's what they had for sample pots, and that worked out fine. I put it into the same plastic half-a-cannoli-box tray as before, and used the smaller stencil brush, and I did not really have to add drops of water, as the paint was less thick, but I had almost zero problem with bleeding-- all my problems were that I had to overlap the stencil while still damp and would sometimes get paint on the back of the stencil that then smudged onto bits I didn't want paint on. Paint also built up on the stencil really horribly because I was using it more intensively-- doing the whole wall it was kind of spread out over the huge stencil, but this was a single element. Being able to see through the stencil helped in positioning, so what I eventually wound up doing was that I would position the stencil, tape it down, wipe it clean with a rag, adjust the position, use it, move it to the next location, wipe it clean with a rag, repeat.
It was so hard to get the second element lined up-- you see how the "petal" is done in two pieces? well it never quite lined up and there was always a gap-- that eventually I pulled a plastic milk jug out of the recycling, traced the stencil on it, and cut out a stencil that was *just* a full copy of that half-petal mirrored so I could see if the stencil wasn't going to line up cleanly, I could just focus on lining up one of the petals, and leave the other blank and come back and add it with the standalone whole-petal homemade stencil. Good thing I'm a dab hand with an exacto.

So instead I would rotate the stencil so one of the petals was good, and leave the other one off entirely to come back and do later.

I know that the most hinged thing to do would have been to just do all the trim orange, and then the wall yellow, and let it be, but I could not resist being fussy and doing the living-room-facing trim back in the living-room-trim purple color. I fortunately was able to find the original pots of paint from when we painted the living room, and it was still good!!!! (mixed in august of '07! amazing) so I repainted the living room wall where it was primer-white after the reconstruction. Looks pretty seamless now! But I have one more light switch faceplate to paint, it looks like. Hmmmmm what color.
The last thing I have left to do is the corner above the front door, where this newly-repainted yellow wall intersects with the wall above the front door that I decided should be kitchen-teal.
I could just do the corner as a flat normal transition. But I want to try to do something fancy, some kind of like pixel-dissolve or like, the stencil bits sticking into the other color, or something.
For now I've painted a cereal box and stuck it up there and I am going to put stenciled attempts on cardboard up there to see what they look like before I commit.

God you were so nervous to have this meeting, You were already 15 minutes late which was not a good thing for wanting a position.
There was already a long line of girls outside waiting patiently, You were quite shy so cutting in front of them was a bit of a hassle.
'Making my way to the front desk was like walking on stage with over a trillion eyes set on me'. Some whisper and shake their heads in annoyance'.
You finally made it to the desk .
"Um excuse me?". You ask politely. "I'm here for the assistance position".
The man behind the desk didn't even glance at you.
"There's a line sweetheart". He gruffs.
"Exactly" .Some girl from the back said.
This caused you to flinch.
"Uh, but um , I-I was scheduled for 2:40 today though". You said this nervously , already being in a slightly awkward position. The older and obviously annoyed man let's out a sigh before going to his computer.
"The first name is (F/n)". You told him before he types it in.
"Your last name". He commands the obvious as he impatiently taps his foot waiting for his answer.
"Oh yeah obviously". You tried to joke the situation but the man doesn't even smile.
"(L/n)". He types it in. "Ah". He stated, "The one who's late". He says this loud for everyone to hear.
Causing you to grow even more uncomfortable as more sets of eyes are on you now.
"Alrighty, it's gonna be the third door on your left, knock first I think another meeting going on".
You shook your head before you took the directions he gave you.
You were getting closer and closer to the door, with ever step you took you had to tell yourself to relax. Just as you were only feet away the door opens showing a girl running out of the room, with her hand covering her face as tears stream down her face along with her mascara.
"Good luck with this one" She whimpered to you not looking at you while say it .
The scene only made you panic,why was she crying? Is he really that mean? Or was she just crying for the lost position?. This series of questions ran through your mind as you try to answer them as a way to possibly get your heart to stop racing. But your thoughts were ruined when a voice spoke from the other side .
"Next".
You swallowed nervous before entering the room.
There were two men , one sitting cross legged , he had reddish-brown hair and turquoise eyes. Sae Itoshi.
The other stood slightly hunch over, he had glasses and straight black hair and a tired expression.
Itoshi spoke first , "You must be (random name)".
"O-oh no I'm (L/n) (Y/n,)". You corrected. "Uh I was scheduled for 2:40".
"Oh the one who wasted my time". Itoshi spoke with no filter.
"I'm very sorry!".You bowed your head slow. For to long apparently.
"Well hurry up and sit down I don't have all day". Sae says impatiently.
"R-right". You were quick to sit down on the chair across from him.
It was only a 25 minute meeting, you barley got anything about yourself out and he only glanced at your file.
"You're hired". Was all he simply said.
"Huh, B-but im not even ha-".
"Do you want the position or not?".
"Yes I do but-". You stop yourself mid sentence, realizing how lucky you are.
Sae turn to the man who was standing next to him
"Giroland,you can dismissed yourself, you've been replaced, you're no longer needed here as my assistant".
Your mouth dropped as you watch the man just got fired right in front of you.
That's how you got hired as the young famous football player's assistant
Approaching this man with something is like walking on egg shells...
He's not exactly suuuuuuper mean it's just that when he tell you to do something or whatever he aspects it to get done ASAP. Other then that there'll be almost no problems at all.
When you don't get work done ASAP:
"(Y/n) did you read the manual sheet I told you to read and sign".
"Uh I forgot them on my desk at home but I swear I'll have them tomorrow first thing in the morning".
His eyes narrow a bit . " You said that yesterday and the day before that ".
''Yes I know but-”
"Yea yea I know you're sorry, that's all you've been ever since I hired you, it's only been two weeks and you're already a fuck up".
His words stung you for sure as you avoided eye contact with him.
He sighed before dismissing himself. "And the mail I told you to pick up is on my desk I assume".
You nervously looked up at him before getting up from your seat . "I-i'll get them right away".
He rolls his eyes before exiting your room .
When you fuck up big time :
"Not again not again not again" . You repeated to yourself as you ran into the airport.
Which was crowded meaning you had to push people out of the way.
You felt bad but you were already late, you see you would usually sleep at a hotel room that's right across Sae's but you decided to go home instead since you had forgot something but it would be a hassle to go all the way back to the hotel.
Which was a bad idea since now you're late, you slept through your alarm and missed 7 miss calls and texts from Sae.
As you were approaching your flight area you could already see your manager impatiently waiting while checking his watch.
But when you finally got to him you immediately apologized and tried to explain why you were late but he ignores you by walking away to the lady waiting at the desk. Leaving you to try and catch up .
"Sae Itoshi and (Y/n) (L/n), Um hey I'm not seeing your names on the list for this flight, I mean I can check again but it's not popping up".
Sae's eyes twitched as he looks over to you.
"You did remember to book our flights did you?". He asked. And your mouth fell open.
''Um i-I swear I did". You stutter as you fish out your planning book from you bag and began to skim through pages that had list of previous request he had asked you to do that were already crossed out meaning you accomplished some them .
All accept one, the very last thing he asked you to do.
IMPORTANT :'Schedule flights '.
"I-". You started as you look up at him. But he wasn't having it .
"How the hell do you have a planning book but you can't remember jackshit". He cussed.
"We do have two seats available and they're first class too and they're right next to each other ". The lady at the front desk seems nervous as she said this.
"We'll take those then". The already on the verge of exploding male grumbles.
The flight was silent as you wrote in your book you usually don't write in public but after the recent events you needed to jot down your feelings.
Till you felt a small amount of pressure hit your shoulder you looked to see that none other then Sae Itoshi had fallen asleep on your shoulder. The grip you had on your pen tightened. Should you wake him up?. You decided not to as you began to relax on the outside yes, but on the inside you were fangirling like crazy.
He was so at ease, his face was to relaxed. You pressed index finger and ring finger against your lips before pressing them against his forehead.
When you're late, again:
"What's your excuse this time?". Sae commands as he hears you stumble in .
"I slept past my alarms, again" .
He shook his head , not even looking up at you .
"I'm sorry".
'' I know, don't just stand there you have shit to do don't you and you're already behind on the things I asked you for from the days before no to mention the shit that's I need for today ".
"Yes I know".
"Maybe if you got here on time you wouldn't have so much work piled up onto yourself and me on the verge of firing you".
You flinch." That won't be necessary I promise I'll do better!". The girl said as she bows her head in an shame .
When he confronts you about your screw ups
"You were late 7 times later week 3 times this week , you somehow cancelled one of my appointments, you forgot to schedule an appointment, you left all your important files back at America, you lost my phone and yours". He listed all your screw ups.
"You know I should fire you right?,A long time ago at that ".
"Yes I'm aware and I'm really sorry, I'll try and do better. If you'll keep me that is".
"..."
"But um, why haven't you fired me yet?"
He sighs before he gets up from his seat and approached you till he was right up against you .
His tense eyes met yours before you felt something soft press up against your forehead.
After he does his deed he walks past you, leaving you confused.
You gently rub the spot that was recently touched.
"That one was for the plan and you're lucky I like you a lot or else I would have been fired your ass".

Hello, it’s me again. I’d love to know your opinion on the Italian production costumes. At first I didn’t like them, but after seeing the show live, I really enjoyed them.
I think they have many cool things going on, a nice period nerve, nice colours, cool references... but sometimes a bit campy. This is however solely judging from photos and video clips, and as always this is not primarily what they are designed for. They are designed for movement and light on stage, and from a distance. So if I ever get to see the production I can give you a much fairer judgement than what I can now. But some favourites and not so favourites!
ELISSA: I love the Elissa costume. Keeping the colours turquoise and golden corresponds well with the set design and chandelier, it looks rich and elegang, and it is also a cool match to the dark blonde wig. Regal and cool, and also somewhat recognizable as an Elissa costume.

DRESSING GOWN: Another recognizable look is Christine's dressing gown. Now... yes I do secretly wish a non-replica production would go a totally different route.. a pink one, a green, something completely different. Kinda like the heavy red one they did in LND Denmark. Just to be creative. But a good ol' delicate white dressing gown is always a welcome look for the First Lair. Hence... beautiful. Bonus for tucks at the hem (not depicted here) and the overall golden touch of the wig, the Hannibal costume underneath and the belt:

THE PHANTOM'S MASK: The Phantom's mask for this production... is not my cup of tea. I've never understood the "angry eyebrow" in any production, or an overall too bulky look. It also feels a bit overdimensioned? But again, this is probably an issue in photos and videos more than when seeing the show live.

DEGAS: I enjoy the "everyday look" of the Degas costumes. They really look like rehearsal costumes, and they look wonderfully period. Cool touch with the diamond-shaped underbust corsets.

CARLOTTA IN MANAGERS: A classy and period-looking bustle dress, but not a very exciting one? Not sure what I'm missing, but more... ooomp, more of an exclamation point. But I like the green towards her red hair.

MASQUERADE: Even if giving a hint of Venetian carnivale, and even if probably adding nicely to the chaotic atmosphere, I don't particularly care for the all-cloaked Masquerade. I feel I lack a focal point in some way. Yes, I know Christine and Raoul is especially featured at times, but as a general design look I'm wanting more. Not sure what. Wackier headgarbs? More distinct costumes? Something.

RED DEATH: I do however enjoy Red Death within this design philosophy. And especially that they picked up on the original idea of Paul Daniels, magic consultant for the original West End production: “My best idea was not accepted by the director (he had his image, fine), whereby the Phantom would come down, singing Masquerade, and then the whole costume and his stick would twirl up into the air, and he would… not be in it, despite the fact that he’d been singing." (as told in the Behind the Mask documentary in 2004). And this is more or less what they're doing here. When the ensemble grabs on to his cloak, it's empty, he's gone, and the cloak just falls to the floor. Should of course mention they did the same in Kristianstad, Sweden. But it's an awesome trick and I love the different takes on it. Here's the full costume before Red Death disappears:

CHRISTINE IN MASQUERADE: Christine wears a beautiful, if boring 1870s-esque bustle dress - much in the vein of Carlotta's Manager's dress. I don't think it adds anything, but at least it's pretty, as is the turned-view set and lowered chandelier.

MAUSOLEUM: I like the mint colour of the Mausoleum cloak, and the bow details. Subdued, yet visible. Bonus: The red lining of the Phantom's cloak (which I think he wears in the Mirror scene, to good effect). I will cherish the day a non-replica production does NOT push the red rose as a theme/prop, but anyway... at least the red rose look good towards the green on stage.

THE DARK ANGEL: No. Just no. I'm not on board. Don't camp it up like this. It feels like an idea that worked better on paper than on stage. Especially when he flies up in the air. I just... no.

POINT OF NO RETURN: In large I'm thinking WHY? Why the humongous hat? I think there are better ways to hide the face. Why is the Aminta skirt such a perfect nod to the Lon Chaney movie's Marguerite costume, but then the top is just a generic corset? Why the wildly clashing colours? It feels like they started with some good ideas and then it just... collapsed.

FINAL LAIR: ...and this is where you loose me... Albeit in hindsight I guess I am glad it's Raoul that is topless and not the Phantom. I mean, they COULD have done that. Or both, for that matter. I thank then for resisting the thought.

All in all, I think the costume design works within a recognizable look - to the point where MOTN, Madame Giry and the two managers could might as well have been Maria Bjørnson's design. But then with some creative touches here and there which either works very well, or moves over to the campy side. I think the Phantom is constantly balancing on camp, while Christine overall has a good wardrobe. As for Raoul, not really anything new or memorable apart from the shirtless thingie in the Final Lair. As far as the others go, a very consistent look throughout.
To me this is one of the most thorough and appealing non-replica productions out there, as far as costumes go. I would rate it in the vein of the Czech Republic (which is jollier but also sticks close to Maria Bjørnson), Hungary (ditto) and Norway/Greece (more blue and more 1905, and more of a roller-coaster, but what is good is really good). I like that they keep it Victorian-esque and recognizable, and a bit creative. And yes, I would love to see it live. Always.

Added all the rock work and rearranged it completely. The most dramatic branches haven't waterlogged yet either. Not cleared up fully. I want to add maybe another plant species (just have helanthium rn). I'm going for a flooded forest / small creek look. Most of the fish are Rio Ucayali native but I do have a biotope breaker... but he is very cute so I don't care that much lol.

What happens to Queen Elizabeth II's tiaras now?
These are all questions I've answered in the past so this may be a bit repetitive if you've followed me awhile but I figured it's a good time to go over it again.

Ownership
All of Queen Elizabeth II's tiaras were owned by her personally and they were not part of the crown jewels. In the UK, the crown jewels just consists of the crowns and official regalia not regularly wore jewelry. There are also a few items in this weird gray area called Heirlooms of the Crown which Queen Victoria's will dictated should be passed from monarch to monarch but for our purposes we're just going to ignore that. So since she personally owned her tiaras she could have theoretically left them to whoever she wanted but in practice that's not going to happen. The vast majority of her jewels will have been left to King Charles III because in the the UK items passed from monarch to monarch are not subject to inheritance tax. If she were to leave tiaras to other members of the family they would most likely have to sell them to pay the inheritance taxes similar to how the Earl of Snowdon and Lady Sarah Chatto sold most of Princess Margaret's jewelry collection including the Poltimore Tiara. I assume she left some smaller pieces to her children and grandchildren but anything major like tiaras will have been left to Charles.

Loaning
Now that King Charles III owns the tiaras he will do the same thing his mother did by loaning it out to the women in the family to wear as he sees fit. This will mostly be for long term loans but occasionally jewelry is loaned out just for one event. Queen Elizabeth II used to loan out fewer jewels but in the 2000s she started to be a bit more generous with her loans. I don't think that we'll really notice a difference in jewelry loaning practices but of course I hope that he loans out even more jewelry because I want to see it worn. The pieces that are already loaned out will probably continue to be used by that person the same as before it will just be Charles doing the loaning instead of QEII.

Queen Camilla
I don't think we will see a sudden shift in the jewelry that is worn by Queen Camilla. She's someone that definitely has her favorite pieces so she will probably continue to wear the jewelry she already wears and will gradually add more pieces as needed. Camilla can really pull off wearing larger tiaras and jewelry so I am excited to see her wear more in the future. The tiaras I'm most looking forward to her wearing are Queen Alexandra's Kokoshnik Tiara, Queen Victoria's Oriental Circlet, and the Queen Mother's Turquoise Tiara and I really want an official portrait of her wearing King George IV's Diamond Diadem. The only one that I think she might stay away from is Queen Mary's Girls of Great Britain & Ireland Tiara. It was Queen Elizabeth II's most iconic tiara and the family may decide not to have anyone wear it for awhile out of respect and to be honest fear of backlash. I hope I'm wrong because it's one of my favorite tiaras but I understand if they want to rest it for a bit and there are plenty of other tiaras in the vault.
If you have any other questions about the British Royal Family's tiaras and jewelry please don't hesitate to ask but to say I'm slow at answering things is an understatement so give me time to get back to you. For a lot of this we will just have to wait and see what happens.

Note: I hate adding trigger warnings simply because it basically spoils the whole thing, but I have to add them so, TW's!!: implications of wanting to die/suicide
Spoilers!! (like in the next sentence)
Will take place after the Infinity Castle thing, Obanai lived, Mitsuri did not. You can choose to think of ObaMitsu as platonic or romantic, it really doesn't matter, they were just close before. Sanemi has been helping Obanai with his mental health (and uhm failing), guess where this is going<33

It had been some time since the final battle and Sanemi was tired. Yes, he had been getting a lot more sleep recently than the past few years, but he was tired. Fuck, it wasn't even because of his sleep—although he was having trouble adjusting to this new sleep schedule. But putting that aside, the reason for his tiredness was Obanai.
Obanai was... putting it nicely, not okay. Mitsuri had died in his arms after Muzan's death, and he was in some sort of daze now, as if it would undo the damage. He ate less than he ever had—which was saying something—and he barely slept, barely moved, really. Sometimes, though, he would wander around, looking lost.
Sanemi had taken to caring for Obanai—the two had started dating, as well. It was rocky, their relationship, or just... their life. It wasn't easy, obviously. How could it be?
Before, at least, they had distractions. Missions, patrol, their own life constantly in peril danger. But there was nothing now. It was a relief, for a lot of the survivors. It was a relief to Sanemi and Obanai, as well. But in a way, it was also worse. Made life just a dull of objects and colors, a blur in the background. It was empty, no action, no... nothing.
Sanemi didn't necessarily mind, however. Obanai, on the other hand, was very affected by it. Horribly. And it was obvious. So obvious to the point that Tanjiro brought up the concern once, while passing by Sanemi at the market.
Sanemi assured him that he'd help as best he could, and that he already was. But it fed his worries about Obanai and he went in search for his boyfriend later, whom he hadn't seen in a bit. He found Obanai, later, sitting absentmindedly on a hill, his katana in his hand. He was staring at it as if it held the answers of the world, his hand running over the handle to the leather sheath.
"Obanai?" Sanemi asked, confused. He quickly made his way up the hill, plopping down next to the smaller man. 
"Hm?" Obanai turned, meeting Sanemi's eyes. The turquoise and golden eyes of Obanai's appeared unfocused, and he looked as tired as ever. 
"What're you doing here?" Sanemi said, frowning. He glanced down at Obanai's lap, where his katana sat. "And why do you have that?"
"Uhm. Just thinking," Obanai mumbled, closing his hand over the katana handle tightly. "Why?"
"You look tired and I haven't seen you all day," Sanemi said, sighing. He wrapped an arm around Obanai, urging him to lean against him. (does that make sense?)
Obanai shrugged. "I wanted some fresh air."
"Ah."
They were silent for a while. Sanemi took this opportunity to look around, finding that he could see a lot of a town below them, stretching far off into the distance. If he wasn't mistaken, that was the town the Hashira would usually wander around in their free time. More specifically, Mitsuri, who would eat a lot in one of the restaurants there.
With that, Sanemi realized Obanai had probably been down there, most likely reminising about Mitsuri. He grumbled internally, wanting to smack himself for his stupidity. Obanai must be feeling miserable because of this.
"So... Why do you have your katana?" Sanemi asked. The past Hashira and Demon Slayers had all kept their katanas and/or uniforms if they were still in tact, given that there wasn't any need to rid of them. But as far as Sanemi knew, most people's katana's were probably gathering dust somewhere in the back of their house as demon slaying hadn't been the best of most people's memories. 
Obanai looked away. "No reason."
The frown on Sanemi's face deepened. There was definitely a reason. It couldn't only be for the purpose of remembering, could it? Although just to feel the weight of the katana was enough to trigger a lot of memories.
"Right." Sanemi stood carefully, making sure he didn't drop Obanai's limp—and very light, he must add—body in the process. "When will you come back home? Tomioka's visiting later, so you probably want to get a bit of rest first."
"I'm not coming home," Obanai mumbled. The words were quiet, almost unaudible. Almost.
"What?" Sanemi turned back, having been half way through heading back down.
Obanai didn't say anything and Sanemi quickly retraced his steps back up, turning Obanai's body to look at him.
"What do you..." His eyes drifted down to Obanai's katana, clutched tightly in his hand. "No."
Obanai blinked quickly, turning his face away. 
"No, Obanai, don't you dare," Sanemi hissed, grabbing the part of the handle protruding from Obanai's fist.
Obanai fought back, tugging at it. "Go away, Sanemi," he said, a sudden harshness entering his voice.
Startled, Sanemi nearly let go, but quickly regained his grip on the katana. Having been taking a lot better care of himself recently—and just generally being stronger than Obanai—he managed to take the katana from his boyfriend, gripping it tightly. 
"Do not. Obanai, you cannot leave now. You're still young enough to have life to you, don't you fucking dare," Sanemi said, a burst of desperation hitting him. "I can't... can't lose you too."
Their eyes met and, for a second, Obanai returned the glare. But then all the fight seemed to seep out of him and he slumped down, his hair slipping over his face. 
"I'm sorry," Obanai whispered. "I have to."
Sanemi shook his head. "No. No, you don't and you won't. Fucking hell, what have you been thinking this whole time?! We're going back home, Obanai. C'mon," he said with a heavy sigh, hoisting Obanai's unhealthily light body onto his back.
Obanai's arms clasped themself loosely onto Sanemi's shoulders as Sanemi made a slow descent down the hill.
"You're going to sleep now, Obanai. I will not let you die," Sanemi said. He wouldn't allow it.

Obanai was asleep and Giyuu was at the door and Sanemi was in the kitchen. Sanemi was also panicking.
He heard the knock at the door and opened it, letting Giyuu enter.
Then he promptly went back to panicking.
Giyuu watched him pace around for a couple minutes before speaking up.
"Are you alright, Shinazugawa?" he asked. He had gotten better at talking recently, having had more time to focus on his social life. He was more vocal now and it was helpful, really. 
Sanemi stopped and stared at him. He had run his hand through his hair several times earlier so it looked like a mess, he had been muttering to himself and pacing around for almost an hour now, after putting Obanai to sleep, and he was tired. No, he was not alright.
"Obanai tried killing himself earlier," Sanemi said bluntly, deciding to go straight (gay) to the point.
Giyuu blinked. He had not been expecting that. "What?"
Sanemi groaned, striding forwards and hitting his forehead against the wall several times. "He brought his katana with him. He didn't even deny it."
Giyuu moved forward, pulling Sanemi away from the wall. "When?"
"Over an hour ago. I made him sleep," Sanemi said, gesturing to the hallway that led to Obanai's room.
"Ah. We should ask Aoi for help, she might know therapist or something," Giyuu murmured.
"Why the fuck would we ask a child?!" Sanemi said incredulously.
Giyuu sighed. "Because Kocho wanted to sign us up for therapy but we didn't have time. Aoi or Kanao might be of some help in this matter since they knew Kocho better."
"Bitch, we're adults. We can find a therapist ourself. But I doubt Obanai would speak to one, in the first place. He's... got a lot of personal shit he'd most likely rather not tell anyone," Sanemi pointed out. He crossed his arms, moving away from Giyuu. 
"Right. I don't know, then," Giyuu murmured.
Sanemi frowned, looking down at the ground. "I don't know either. I've been trying to help him, but I don't think it's working."
"Mm. How have you been trying?"
"Uhh..." Sanemi paused, racking his brain. "I've been keeping a close watch on his sleeping and eating schedules—which are somehow still fucked up. I try talking to him sometimes but he doesn't really... want to. He's quieter now, too. It's difficult to deal with, and it's fucking up my head."
Giyuu nodded as he spoke, thinking for a moment. "Try to just spend time with him, maybe? Instead of so obviously focusing on his mental and physical health, just take him out on walks or dates, and so on," he suggested. "Maybe it'll clear his mind."
Sanemi raised an eyebrow. "That's... I'm surprised I'd hear that from you, Tomioka. But I'll try that, sure."
Giyuu pouted. "What does that mean?!"
"You know, you're really childish for a twenty-one year old man," Sanemi deadpanned. 
"...go cheer up Iguro, then," Giyuu said, huffing and turning to the door.
Sanemi laughed. "Will do. Thanks," he called after Giyuu who was already outside.
"No problem... And good luck!" Giyuu said, lifting a hand in a wave before promptly slamming the door shut.
Sanemi rolled his eyes and locked the door before turning as he heard a different door open.
Obanai stumbled into the hallway, rubbing his eyes and fixing his bandages. He quickly spotted Sanemi and sank into his boyfriend's arms, hugging him tightly.
"You alright?" Sanemi asked, patting Obanai. 
He got a muffled "yes" in response. 
"Are you hungry?" he asked, picking up Obanai and hoisting him onto his hip.
Obanai pulled back slightly to make himself comfortable, wrapping his legs around Sanemi's waist. "No' really..." he mumbled, resting his head on Sanemi's shoulder. He seemed tired, still, and probably had forgotten about earlier. 
"Okay. Sleepy? Want to cuddle?" Sanemi offered, kissing his cheek.
"Mmmhm," Obanai hummed, nuzzling against him.
Sanemi smiled. "Whatever you want. You're awfully clingy today, you know..."
"Is'at bad?" Obanai asked, lifting his head up to look at Sanemi.
"Not at all. It's adorable."
"I'm not adorable."
Sanemi scoffed. "Keep telling yourself that."
Obanai grumbled but went back to hugging him as Sanemi made his way back to the bedroom, closing the door and laying down with Obanai wrapped around him.
The room was silent, only the sound of their breathing, bringing a comforting feeling to them, lulling them into sleep.
Sanemi awoke, he didn't know how long later, and glanced down at Obanai who stayed asleep in his arms. The blanket previously pulled over them had at one point gotten tangled up between their limbs and Sanemi struggled for a moment to pull it back onto them.
He glanced at the window which had curtains drawn over them. A dim light filtered through the fabric, however, telling him it was around late evening or night. He moved his hand up to run through the dark, tangled locks of Obanai's hair, wrapping his other arm back around his boyfriend.
A while later—about twenty or so minutes—Obanai stirred awake, blinking wearily at Sanemi. His hair was messy, despite Sanemi having been finger-combing it for nearly half an hour before, but he looked considerably less tired then he had before.
"S'nemi...?" he mumbled, moving forward and re-attaching himself to his boyfriend.
"Yes?"
"Goo' mornin'..." Obanai said, his voice muffled by his bandages and sleep.
"It's... night," Sanemi said, laughing gently. 
"Oh." Obanai sat up slowly, glancing at the window. "Is it bad that we're used to waking up at dusk and going to sleep at dawn?"
"...Probably." Sanemi sighed. "How do you feel, though?"
"I'm fine."
"Tired, still, or not?"
"I feel better," Obanai admitted, running a hand through his hair. 
"I'm glad to hear it," Sanemi said, sitting up and kissing the smaller man's forehead. "Hungry?"
"Not really." 
Sanemi frowned. "When have you last eaten?"
Obanai pouted, crossing his arms. "That's none of your concern!"
"It is! If I want to care for you, I need to know!" Sanemi said.
"I don't need caring for! I'm twenty-one! I can care for myself!" Obanai protested.
Sanemi raised an eyebrow. "What, and this morning wasn't some sort of indication that you can't?" He immediately regretted the words afterwards when Obanai seemed to cower away, remembering. "Sorry, Obanai, I didn't mean..."
Obanai shook his head, silencing him. "It's fine." He slumped back down onto the futon, burying himself in the blankets.
Sanemi sighed. "I'll make us some food."
"Alright..."

Sanemi decided to take Giyuu's advice into action and, the next day, took Obanai out on a walk after lunch.
Obanai was clueless and just walked around, one hand clasped around Sanemi's, the other clutching a pebble he'd picked up earlier. They walked in silence, enjoying the outside for once. It was a nice day and the weather was mild, not cold nor hot. It was peaceful; spring could be like that. (Fun fact: it was spring after the war!! Because the sakura tree in the Butterfly Estate had been blooming) There was a heavy scent of flowers in the air, given the trees were blooming and, with the occasional burst of wind, flower petals would float down around them.
Sanemi was watching Obanai carefully and had been caught staring at him several times, leading to more awkward silence.
Eventually, irritated, Obanai asked, "What?" upon catching Sanemi looking at him again.
Sanemi bit his lip, turning his gaze back in front of them. Obanai stopped, though, holding Sanemi back by his hand. 
"What?" he repeated, more forcefully.
Sanemi shook his head. "It's nothing, just thinking."
Obanai huffed. "If you keep thinking about yesterday, I'm going to rip your head off."
"Be my guest," Sanemi murmured. "And it's not that"—which was partially true—"so don't worry about it. I was thinking about when we were Hashira. Days like today just went by unnoticed since we were usually resting or training."
Obanai rolled his eyes. "Oh, are you reminising now? Are you going to go on about a speech to appreciate what we have now?"
Sanemi laughed. "Do you want me to?"
"Fuck no."
"Good, because I wasn't. But... you really should," Sanemi added, as an afterthought.
"What? I'm not reciting an essay for shit," Obanai said, scrunching up his nose. 
"That's not what I meant. i meant, like, to 'appreciate what you have now,' as you'd put it."
"Oh, so it is about yesterday." He sighed, letting go of Sanemi's hand to fidget with the rock. "Please stop thinking about it."
"Like I could." Sanemi crossed his arms, moving to stand in front of Obanai. "You do realize I care about you way more than anyone else right now?"
"Well you shouldn't. You should care about yourself." Obanai looked up, his eyes meeting the lavender eyes of Sanemi's, those of which he'd fallen in love with over and over again. God, he would do almost anything for him. Almost anything.
"Like you could talk! You're the one ignoring your own health," Sanemi shot back. "Obanai, seriously, just... I'll stop thinking about it when you can prove to me that you'll try to get better. If not for yourself, then... for..." He hesitated, unsure if he should continue the sentence. "For someone else."
Obanai frowned. "For you?" he asked. "Just say it. It's not selfish, if that's what you're thinking."
Sanemi shook his head again, running a hand through his hair and sighing. "It's... not that."
"Then?" Obanai asked impatiently. 
"That's not what we're talking about!" Sanemi said, trying to pull him off the course of the conversation.
"Yeah, well now it is. So, tell me." He crossed his arms for emphasis, glaring up at Sanemi.
Sanemi grumbled. "If I tell you, will you try to care for your health?"
"I walked into that, didn't I," Obanai said, sighing. 
"Yes."
"Fine. I'll try. But I won't promise any success."
"Good enough," Sanemi decided. 
"So?" Obanai asked, quirking an eyebrow when he didn't continue. "Tell me!"
"It's stupid," he insisted.
"So am I, and look who you're dating! Get on with it, idiot."
Sanemi rolled his eyes. "One, you're not stupid. And... fine. Fine," he repeated, as if telling himself more than Obanai. His gaze dropped to the ground, avoiding the prying eyes of his boyfriend. "It's about Kanroji."
Obanai tensed. "What about her?"
"I don't know. Just, you're doing this all for her, right? I know what you were looking at when I found you yesterday. I know you care about her a lot." Sanemi paused. "Basically—and fuck, I sound like a selfish brat, but—I didn't know if you cared about me enough to want to stay... for me," he concluded. "Which is why... yeah."
Obanai frowned, taking in this information. "Are you jealous or insecure?"
Sanemi winced. "Don't say it like that."
"Just answer."
"Both, really," he admitted, wishing he could crawl in a hole and die.
There was a beat of silence.
And then Obanai stepped forward, tiptoeing and wrapping his arms around Sanemi's neck, hugging him tightly. He glanced around, making sure nobody was there, then undid his bandages, kissing Sanemi gently. Sanemi embraced him, leaning against the hug. 
"God, you're like a big baby," Obanai murmured, placing another kiss on Sanemi's cheek.
"Says you," Sanemi said, although he smiled at the kiss. 
"Mm, sure." 
They stayed like this for a while, completely ignoring the fact that they stood in the middle of a road in public, their attention completely on each other.
Then Sanemi back away, embarrassed and almost guilty. "Sorry for turning this about me."
"Don't worry about it, it's nice to not be the one worried about for once," Obanai said, quickly fixing his mask and taking Sanemi's hand.
Sanemi nodded. "And it's nice to be the one worried about, honestly," he said. 
"Guess you haven't experienced it much?"
"Nah." 
They continued on their walk in silence for a while, consumed in their own thoughts. Obanai spoke up, after a few minutes, glancing up at Sanemi.
"Hey, and for the record? I do care about you. Fuck, I'm sorry for seeming so laser-focused on Mitsuri lately, but... I mean, don't take this the wrong way, but she's all the reasons why I want to die. You're all the reasons I want to stay," he said, his voice gentle. 
Sanemi stared at him. 
"What?"
"N... Nothing," Sanemi mumbled, his hand tightening around Obanai's. "Thanks."
Obanai nodded, confused. He double-stepped forward to see Sanemi's face—who had turned away—and stopped. "Oh my god, are you going to cry?!" 
Sanemi shook his head, his hand reaching up to rub his eyes. "Fuck no, what the hell are you talking about?..."
Obanai sighed, letting go of his hand to wipe the tear that slipped down Sanemi's cheek. "Crying isn't bad."
"Well, good for you. Because I'm not crying!" Sanemi insisted, a whine entering his voice.
"And you said I was the baby," Obanai grumbled, rolling his eyes. But he hugged Sanemi again, holding him tightly in his arms. 
Sanemi buried his face in the mess of Obanai's hair, practically strangling him with a hug. "'m not crying," he repeated, with less insistency.
"Whatever you say."
After Sanemi got himself back together, the two walked down the road again, more awkwardly as neither knew what to say anymore. 
"Uhm... So, back to you?" Sanemi suggested.
"Fuck no."
"Fuck yes."
"You want to fuck?" Obanai asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Maybe?" Sanemi said, mimicking Obanai.
"Idiot," Obanai said, laughing.
Sanemi smiled. "You're laughing."
Obanai immediately stopped. "Okay, no, that's stupid. Don't be stupid."
Sanemi rolled his eyes. "You're stupid."
"I know."
"God."
They exchanged a smile before Obanai decidedly broke into a run, making Sanemi do a double take before chasing after him.
"What the hell?!" he shouted, catching up quickly.
Obanai grinned at him, quickening his pace. "How much strength from being do you think we have left?"
"I bet I have more than you do," Sanemi replied, running ahead of Obanai.
"Fuck you!!" Obanai whined, attempting to get back in line with Sanemi.
They laughed as they ran, and probably wouldn't have stopped if it weren't for the fact that they nearly crashed into someone. Both of them skidded to a stop, almost toppling over themselves in an attempt to not hit the other person.
"Fuck..." Sanemi groaned, helping Obanai steady himself.
"Okay, what the hell is wrong with you two?" the person asked, his voice familiar.
They looked up.
"Great," Obanai said, crossing his arms.
"The fuck is that supposed to mean?!" Tengen whined. 
"Nothing. What're you doing here?" Sanemi asked.
"Uh, walking. Why?" Tengen said, cocking an eyebrow. "And you two?"
"Same as you," Obanai said. 
"Right. You look better," Tengen noted, looking Obanai up and down.
"What do you mean?"
"Well rested." 
Sanemi nodded. "He slept a lot yesterday and the day before."
"I was tired," Obanai said defensively. "And what do you mean, 'better'?!"
"It wasn't an insult," Tengen said, laughing. "And of course you were tired."
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?!" Obanai threw the pebble at Tengen who dodged it, grinning at him.
Sanemi rolled his eyes. "He means you were being insomniac and unhealthy and that you're already making improvement, dumbass."
Obanai huffed. "You too?!"
"Hey, don't blame me! You were the only one who fell into some sort of neglection of yourself after Muzan!" Sanemi pointed out.
"Anyways, I don't want to hear you two bickering, so... bye!" Tengen said, saluting them before promptly turning and practically disappearing.
Sanemi and Obanai stared after to where Tengen had run off to, watching his figure fade into the distance.
"Why is everyone concerned about my health," Obanai asked, after a minute. 
"Because you're easy to be concerned about. You look happier though," Sanemi said, turning back to Obanai. "Right now."
"That's cuz we were running and it was exhilarating. I haven't done that in a bit."
"Yeah, I know. That's why I took you out on the walk," he said, taking Obanai's hand into his own.
"Hmm, I knew you had ulterior motives," Obanai said. "'I need fresh air' my ass." 
"That wasn't a lie."
"Yeah, yeah."
"Hey, you lied about that, too!" Sanemi said, walking again.
"Fair enough."

Giyuu's tactic seemed to work. It was distracting Obanai a lot more and he looked a lot lighter now, although he occasionally lapsed into fits of depressing—if you could call it that—and Sanemi was always there for him when they happened. But he was progressing and his katana ended up in the corner of the entrance hall, dust slowly collecting on the hand guard. He was doing better, and it was all Sanemi could really ask for.

All colors by themselves are masculine as nouns
I'm going to try to explain this as best as I can but just know that I will probably add some extra info you didn't ask and I hopefully won't confuse you too bad, but just know that ALL colors when presented as nouns are masculine
Adveribal phrases with colors will also generally appear as their "masculine singular" form, which can be confusing when you see a color that looks feminine

en blanco means "in (the color) white", but you could phrase it in a way where blanco/a is used as an adjective for falda
In the same vein you could say en rosa "in (the color) pink" OR en rosado "in pink"... because el rosa is "the color pink"....... as far as I know there's know "roso" masculine, it's always taken rosa the plant to use as a color which makes it masculine
...
I'm not sure 100% if this explanation is helpful but it's the en here that's important and marks it as an unchanging "adverbial phrase"; the typical adjective needs to apply directly to a noun, but the use of en marks it as either a noun phrase or part of an adverb
In other words, it would always show up as "masculine singular" as its own little phrase, even if it's something like botas en negro "boots in black", even though if you were going to say "black boots" you'd say botas negras as feminine plural
(I think de can also do this like vestirse de negro is "to dress in all black" and it's always negro "black" as maculine rather than saying something like la camisa negra "black shirt")

But as far as all colors being masculine as nouns
I think it's masculine because it's el color and some colors like color café "brown" or "coffee-colored" sometimes work like that, where you sometimes see color + noun to make it some kind of color but understood as masculine
(Also possibly because el tinte "dye" is masculine but I tend to think it's color)
So for colors you will see el rojo, el naranja, el amarillo, el verde, el azul, el morado/lila for the typical rainbow colors "red", "orange", "yellow", "green", "blue", "purple"... and then el negro "black", el blanco "white" [when it doesn't also mean "target"], and el rosa "pink"
Note: You may also see el anaranjado "orange" for el naranja or el rosado "pink" for el rosa... Same difference. Linguistically anaranjado/a means "orange-y" or "the color of an orange", and rosado/a is "pink" as in "the color of roses" or "rosy"
Any color will show up this way when talking about colors as nouns - even el turquesa "turquoise color", el púrpura "the color purple", or el caoba "mahogany color", or el plata "the color silver" and in general when you take a traditional noun and use it as a color

This can be really confusing as a concept though, I do understand. I still get tripped up with orange and pink and turquoise
It's why when you're starting out people often teach you anaranjado/a for "orange" and rosado/a as "pink" because they more typically look like adjectives
However you'll often see el naranja used as "the color orange" [with la naranja as "orange" the fruit], and el rosa as "the color pink" [with la rosa as "rose"] ... or el turquesa is "turquoise" color, while la turquesa is "turquoise" gem
But just know that ALL colors are masculine as nouns; they might change as adjective like rojo/a but el rojo "the color red" is masculine. So anytime you see something like "What's your favorite color?" or asking what color something is in, you're usually using the masculine form or a masculine noun

Cosplay Fixin' Time: Infinity Train
So a while back I made posts about some props I'd created for my Simon Laurent cosplay. There was the harpoon pack, and the boots.

So at the time I was a cheapass, and just used whatever I could find that was left over from a bunch of other stuff, or the cheapest materials from my local craft store, even stuff from the dollar store!
I'm not really going to make any huge modifications, but after wearing it a few times there were some signs of wear and tear. I'm going to show you how I fixed it, and suggestions for substitute materials you can use so that yours will be sturdier and less prone to breaking!
NOTE: These tips are going to involve TOXIC SUBSTANCES. But for safety reasons, I will also give substitutions for non-toxic replacements.
The Boots
The first thing I found out was that after a weekend of walking around in them, the toe caps had large cracks in them!
[I forgot to take pics of the cracks, but you can see from the images below how extensive they were. ]
This is because I had used Model Magic to fill in the gaps initially, instead of a stronger air dry clay. So in order to fix it, I knew what I needed to do.
First I glued down the cracks with superglue so it's nice and solid, and won't crack more. Then, I used... Milliput!

It comes in a variety of colours: white, black, turquoise blue, sad puke-brown, I went with the last one because it was on sale.

This is an epoxy putty, which means that it has two parts you need to mix equal portions of together in order for it to cure. Otherwise it stays malleable.

Now, because it is an EPOXY PUTTY, it is therefore TOXIC, and you must wear gloves while handling it!!!! But once it dries, it takes on a hard, smooth, plastic-like texture! And it isn't brittle and flaky like Model Magic.
For a non-toxic substitute, you could go with traditional air dry clays, but just not Model Magic, or anything as light and fluffy. I would recommend something like Paperclay.

I've used Paperclay before to make stuff like horns, and even details on Pearl's staff! It definitely dries into more of a clay texture than Milliput though. (Yes I have cosplayed Pearl from Steven Universe before. No, I will not be posting pictures. They are embarrassing.)

Here's how the boots looked after the Milliput dried, and I sanded and repainted the boots. Pretty good! Well okay I know that it still looks like blobs of stuff but hey, for me, pretty good is it'll look good in photos, not in extreme closeups.
Another thing I did for the paint was that I noticed glossy Mod Podge is kind of sticky even when dry? So I sprayed everything with Mr. Super Clear Gloss Varnish.

This sealant is HIGHLY TOXIC so I had to spray it in a well-ventilated area with a vapour respirator!!!! No joke, you need to be extremely cautious with spray sealants. But the result was amazing. The glossy parts of the boots are smooth and slick and not weirdly sticky!!!
Non-toxic alternative: Liquitex Gloss Varnish should also work. I used that on the repaint of the harpoon pack's front panel.

Also, you may be wondering, did I add the extra strap that Simon has on his boots? No. Because it looks uggo. And I want my boots to look nice, and not uggo.

The Harpoon Pack
The first thing I did was improve the hinges:

Hey guess what nuts and bolts are really sturdy who knew? Yeah the hinge still works and yes my old backpack is still inside.
Next were more drastic changes. What I realized was that my initial design had stressed out the front panel way too much, and it was just two flimsy pieces of 2mm thick craft foam held together with snap buttons!

This is the face of sadness...
So I needed to do 2 things:
Make the front panel sturdier
Redo the backpack straps to better resemble how the harpoon pack straps are worn in the show.
Panels
For the first part it was very simple: buy thicker craft foam, stick the old panels onto the new panels.

I even did a fancy new paint job because the old one was honestly, not it. I painted the Apex logo on too thick at first. But now, it is sized correctly!!!

The Backpack Straps
This took me a while to figure out, but it's not too hard once you get the hang of it.
What you'll need:
3 backpack snap buckles
2 to 4 ladder locks for strap length adjustment (depending on if your original backpack has ladder locks included on its shoulder straps)
Utility strap/Webbing rope (you can buy them in brown if you want a more show-accurate look. I had some black just lying around at home so i went with that.)

Now let's take a closer look at how it all comes together:

So I undid the utility straps from the bottom of my backpack. This may require a seam ripper if the ends of the straps were sewn in place. This left me with 4 separate pieces connected to my backpack: two shoulder straps, and two waist straps.
I used this tutorial to learn the proper way to thread ladder locks.
I placed one set of plastic buckles on the waist straps so they can clip together. Then, to make sure that the straps are adjustable and well-fitted to my tiny-ass torso, I also threaded the ladder locks into the waist straps.
You need to cut out two new strips of webbing rope in order to both thread in the buckles and the ladder locks.

After that, it gets trickier.
Thread one half of the buckle closure through a piece of webbing that wraps around the waist strap. Do this on both sides.

Then, on your shoulder straps, if you already have a ladder lock, thread a long piece of new webbing through the bottom hole. Attach the other half of the plastic buckle to it, but make sure it's through the BOTTOM HOLE of your buckle.
Then, take the other end of the long webbing, and thread it through the SECOND HOLE on the TOP of your plastic buckle! This is to ensure that the top straps remain adjustable.

Part One (Astral Express
Random post ideas I got, but I'm just listing my opinions on aspects of the HSR designs, including things I may dislike or would at least change about certain playable HSR design, because I am currently planning some of my own designs/redesigns to use for future art
Disclaimer!! I am not a professional character designer, I am not saying any of my ideas for them are objectively better, and I am not bashing any of these designs. I actually like most if not literally all of the playable designs so far! This is just my lil opinions of how I would change them
The List part 1:
Stelle: I actually like the turquoise band around her thigh, I just don't like how they didn't take the opportunity to sprinkle in some more of that color into her design. She had a lot of little details in her outfit, especially the back of her coat, so there's a lot of places where a few splashes of turquoise could be added whether in those little details or in some of her other adornments just so that the band stands out less . I think I would change more than just that ofc, but that's one of the things about her that stood out the most to me. Also honestly? Maybe I would scale down the sheer amount of detail she has on her back (which as someone who has tried to draw her from the back view o h my g o d), and add some more detail on her sides like her arms and her legs maybe? I dunno, I think her design is really really nice, but there are places the amount of details could be more evenly spread to.
March 7th: While I don't mind her design that is especially center around her top half, March definitely has a clutter design particularly around her waist when you look at her full body in detail. Clutter that manages to mix in some odd color choices too/ I'd probably clean it up, or better place the little bits of clutter to feel like it matches more and change up the colors in order to at least go with the rest of her outfit. Like the gold makes sense, not only with her details of golden buttons throughout her design but also the golden ticket she holds showing she is passenger of the Astral Express, but why the black fabric? How is it supposed to work in terms of construction with the rest of her outfit, I'd keep her black to only the little accented bands on her thigh and neck rather than anything big on her waist. Why is the thing holding her camera orange, why does she have this random bright green button, why does she have seemingly two different belts?? I think March would have a better sense of what goes together than that. Overall, still an adorable design.
Dan Heng: He is very nicely designed, and I think a lot of his personality comes through in it, way better than any alternative for him. I feel like I can get a better sense of his nature and overall how he feels and who he is in it. The one unfortunate aspect of his design for me though is that it feels a bit... bland? for a lack of better word. Not that he's devoid of details or anything, very nice to see him not having a particularly busy design, but a lot of those meaningful details tend to be pushed to his back or his arms. I would probably bring a few more of the details that can be to the front or maybe add more? It just feels as though there is something lacking in the design, maybe more on a coloration front than construction. Speaking of coloration, I'd likely change the way the details around his waist are colored, all the same hue and yet different shades also getting an ombre? It's a little messy, but not a big issue to be honest. That's just my view of it though, still love his design for how much it really lets his character shine through unlike Another One which I will eventually get into and explain my thoughts on in the Luofu post.
Himeko: Listen, she's beautiful, she's gorgeous. I absolutely adore her and her color palette especially, it's such a nice blend of elements with the gold all mixed in. However, her silhouette is awful like it's so messy, and I really dislike how weighed down she feels. I wish she looked just a bit different, wish her clothes looked a bit lighter. She's a Nameless, she's their navigator, she's the one who repaired the Astral Express herself!! I wish she had more details to reflect all of that, and I already have ideas for how it could be done that would end up alleviating some of the weight placed on her with all of those heavy, layered fabrics. Additionally, I think there's a better way to highlight those elements while still making her look elegant, gorgeous, and ornate. Yeah, I love Himeko, I do like her currently design a lot, but I think more could be done to show off more sides of her. She's the one I probably have the clearest image for so far. Like I can imagine her in a nice set of slacks, a deep brown tone that goes well with her coat, and either on the sides or the front of the bottom, they have slits revealing these ruffles showing through similar to the ruffles of her coat sleeves. They have golden adornments along them, very sleek and fitting her figure well to keep with a very elegant appearance. Perhaps she has suspenders as well, maybe only one side to fit with their habit of asymmetrical designs. All with a nice white blouse or even some kind of button up, buttons popped open and collar folded in a more fashionable style. Even more hammering on the asymmetry, maybe for side where she actually wears her coat, the sleeve is much shorter to not interfere with the jacket's ruffles. I don't know, that's just a little idea of changing up the construction of her outfit that I had, but I'll see how it looks on paper when I draw it.
Welt: Okay listen, I need to look up more about his lore before I can truly say anything about him. Looking at his design, and with what I do know about him, I do adore it. His color palette here with the grey tones making up the majority of it for his upper body with the accents of an almost like cool toned brown and the darker shades of grey and black coming in. It's so nicely balanced, I don't feel like he had too many elements or too many overlapping fabrics that complicate the shape. It's a competent design, and while I think someone with more knowledge on him could find more places to add details, with what I know about him, I do really like the way he looks. If I were to change one thing... I would give him more wrinkles. I know why his physical appearance doesn't match what his true age is, but I still think he deserves a few more wrinkles PLEASE that's the only way I can think to truly elevate him at the moment, give him a few more wrinkles he'd look so good with them. Whenever I see art of people giving him more wrinkles I ascend... Okay well, I can think of something I would do color wise, but I'm still on the fence about it.
I think I'll leave things there for now. I don't have as much to say on these designs in particular. I think generally they're pretty solid, and even with the ones I can think of more changes for like Himeko's, I still greatly adore a lot of elements from it. The Astral Express' base designs definitely aren't the ones I have a lot of gripes with or things to say aside from suggestions for Himeko, we'll get to those eventually (those ones in particular are Serval and DH IL, both for primarily character reasons rather than aesthetic reasons like some other opinions I have.) But yeah, the next post will be for the Stellaron Hunters since I couldn't fit them into this so look out for that!

switchplate covers update/tutorial
So the thing to keep in mind with this is that we gotta see how well the wear. A switchplate cover is a pretty high-traffic thing, and subject to a lot of wear. If these get too dingy I'm absolutely going to have to go buy fancy ceramic ones or something.
But. That said. Here is my final result, and below the cut is how I did this, partly because I want to remember how it worked LOL.

So I searched up for tutorials and found a few, each of which was like "can't believe nobody else has done this"; I'm sharing the most helpful one here. What was thee very most helpful thing, though, was the writer's pointing out that many different configurations of turquoise exist, so you can just pick a reference image and build off that. I did not in the end come very close to my reference, but decided instead to make it look sick as hell. LOL. I was just having too much fun doing whatever I wanted. So these are not super realistic! But then you wouldn't... make an outlet faceplate out of real turquoise, so I felt like I wasn't fooling anyone. Anyway--
How To Paint Faux Turquoise.
So the first thing I did was find some very fine-grit sandpaper (I think I got 320? I found a mostly used-up sheet of it in the basement and just used the unused edge from where it had been fastened around a block, LOL) and went over the whole front surface of each plate I was going to paint, and then I washed them with dishsoap and hot water and dried them with a dish towel, because I figured finger grease, hand dirt, and sanding dust would keep the paint from sticking. I started with white plastic ones, the kind you get for up to a dollar at the hardware store.
Then I got a plastic container lid, put dollops of various of my paint samples in it, dug out the craft paints I got cleaning out Auntie's basement and the sole tube of acrylics (Mars black) I could still find from the last time I did any painting, and went to town. The first couple, I did the pale shades and let them dry and came back to add the darker marbling. But then I was like, these are latex/acrylic, you don't have to build them in layers? So I just did the rest of them with all the shading in more or less one pass.
Acrylic art paint and latex housepaint are both water-based, so there's no conflict with using them intermingled. I've combined them before, I used to do a lot of sign painting and it works fine. Housepaint's runnier, idk. Don't mix oils and latex, is the thing to keep in mind; they just don't stick to each other real well.
I went to the art supply store to get some water-based varnish, because all i had was polyurethane and that's oil-based. It'd probably work as a topcoat but I was worried and the internet's advice conflicted. I wanted to go get better glitter anyway, so I did. I happen to live near Hyatt's All Things Creative, so I take every excuse I can get to go there.
I bought some sick-ass glitter (over in the resin pouring section, hell yes), and puzzled thru the various offerings. (@sassaffrassa's advice proved invaluable on this thank u.) I got just-- "Gloss varnish acrylic medium", the Hyatt's brand, for four dollars and sixty-nine (nice) cents, and then because I was feeling spendy, I also bought Krylon spray-on glossy varnish. Belt and suspenders, y'know? Also to make the brush strokes less obvious.
The critical thing, though, about the gloss varnish, is that it says right on the bottle that you can either incorporate it into the paint as a medium to enhance the sheen, OR brush it over the finished work as a protective coating. Dries absolutely clear. So I knew, THIS is how I'm attaching the glitter. I'd been thinking like, mod podge? elmer's glue? mix it into the paint? No.

So I carefully got open the little bottle of glitter (no sneezing! it was "white gold flake" style and cost eight bucks for like half a gram. to my knowledge it's not actually made of gold but it was priced like it was) and painted little fine patches of gloss varnish onto the spots I wanted glittered, and then used tweezers to apply glitter just in those spots, and mooshed them around with the little varnish-covered brush until they stuck where I wanted them. (I put them on the darkest bits of the veining, because that was what my source image looked like, mostly. I wanted to be really liberal but then I thought, no, a little pop of glitter is more exciting actually. Still not sure, but it does look good so. They say measure that shit with your heart but I went light because I figured I could add more later, and then I didn't.)
Then I came back at the end and painted more gloss varnish just over the glitter, just to make sure it was all really stuck down and wouldn't flake off with wear.
Let that dry for a couple hours, then used a larger brush to spread gloss varnish as evenly as possible over the entirety of each plate. It did leave visible brush strokes, which I didn't mind. The art shop guy suggested using a really soft brush to minimize that, and I was like "yah sure ok" but then, well, I didn't, I just used the brush I had.)
But then I let that dry overnight, and in the morning I put the plates all in my giant overspray cardboard box, and gave them each a liberal coating of the spray varnish. (Yes of course I have a giant cardboard box I keep in my basement to spray paint things in. I know it says use in a well-ventilated space but what I do, see, is I do that and then I leave the room, which is almost as good. LOL it's 24F and snowing I'm not doing it outside.)
That bottle says two hours until handling on it, so I left it two hours, and then I put up the plates that were in spots where the painting was done or wasn't happening, hence my example image being against a tiled wall.
The screwdriver immediately scratched the first one a little bit, but not super obviously. But I kind of would expect a screwdriver to scratch just about anything, so that doesn't mean much.
I won't guarantee how well these'll hold up but if you were interested in doing something like that, there's how it worked. (Hi, future me, you're welcome for writing it down lol.)
I'm sort of sorry for no more process pictures but honestly most of it was following whimsy and doing what I felt like and kind of drawing on what I hadn't realized was a lot lot lot of hours of past paint-handling in my life, so pictures wouldn't help anyone else recreate this. But it did remind me that I love to paint and should do that more. So, I'll try, I guess.

After my recent review on the different Turquoise October songs I decided that I wanted to make more reviews of different bands and their songs, but only the ones that contain Octolings or something similar, that's why I decided to review DJ Octavio's songs, I mean, they are mostly remixes but they are still good

Splatoon 1
I Am Octavio (1): To be honest as simple as this song sounds it's actually pretty nice, it's a nice opening to his fight and I think shows more about Octarian music as well, you can hear some similarities to Turquoise October, which I mean DJ Octavio is technically part of Turquoise October since he's their producer; the simplicity of this song is what makes it good In my opinion, and it shows more about DJ Octavio, apart from his in-game dialogue, overall good song

I Am Octavio (2): This is the worst one of the three, like, it's just really bad it doesn't sound that good, it serves as a good transition to the third phase tho so I think it does the job right, nothing much to say about this one
I Am Octavio (3): Ok this one is actually really good, there are some weird noises added that I like and what sounds like steam coming out of the Octobot king, the weird vocals it has sound funny but I think it depends on the context because if you are going against Octavio they sound more like, idk but it makes the battle feel intense I guess, now there's also the Turquoise October jingle, which I love because it connects Octavio with the Octarians and it sounds really good as well, I think this is the best Octavio original song

Inkopolis Memorial Mixtape: Nothing much of interest in this one, it's pretty nice sounding tho, I could hear some references in this song, I believe the live version is better (for obvious reasons lol)
DJ Octavio ft. Callie
Splatoon 2
Bomb Rush Blush (Dj Octavio ft. Callie): Honestly I really like this remix, I think Callie's remixed vocals with the different trumpets and other instruments used mixed really well, I love the fact that in one part Callie sings the Turquoise October jingle, again I say this a lot but it's something I absolutely love in songs; the song makes the fight better, it's kinda boring but with the song it makes it more frantic, Callie also does a funny dance if you look at the screens around the arena and I think that's cute lol, also going back to what I said about the Turquoise October jingle, I absolutely love when songs do that, like, referencing something from like, before the big finale and it being more like, cool sounding, idk how to describe it exactly but it fills me with so much joy, it's like, a tiny cheer to the player's morale like, showing something that has been with the player since the beginning and using it to motivate the player, and in terms of the story well I love that Octavio references that jingle because I read that it is also what makes octarians be more obedient (it's not mind control btw)

Tidal Rush (DJ Octavio ft. Callie vs Marie): Tidal Rush is really good, I like how Marie and Callie sing their songs and the different instruments and audios that are thrown through the song, it's really good, makes the fight feel harder than it is, which I think it's good, for me it means it adds that feeling of accomplishment when you beat it and I think that's great, I love that, and I also love to think of Octavio having to remix the song and also fight at the same time, which is pretty cool if you think about it, I feel Octavio doesn't get that much recognition for stuff like that

Inkopolis Memorial Mixtape Live: This is an amazing song, i love the fact that it opens with Turquoise October and other stuff about the story mode, and how Octavio can be heard during the song too, it feels like an open letter to the fans, especially splatband fans if I'm being honest, since most songs in here are from the splatbands and they also gave Paruko new vocals and I'm pretty sure they gave Mizole new vocals as well, which is so cool, I wonder if the two bands worked together with Octavio to make this song, I really can't describe how good this song is, and it's super long as well, like, 12 minutes or something like that, that's amazing I love long songs, I won't listen to it that often but it's definitely one of my favourites, I wonder if we will get something like this for splatoon 3, and I hope Octavio will do it; as I said I think this song feels like a combination of everything in splatoon 2 like, all the songs and other gameplay related stuff too, like a cute gift to the community, I haven't seen that many people talk about it tho

I Am Octavio F34RME Remix: As far as I know it's a remix of his boss theme from the first game, and honestly it's a really good one, I love the way it feels more, light(?) Idk if you could call it that, but it reflects how he doesn't have the power of the great zapfish, and he's battling with very little power, so the song feels more calm I guess, it's still pretty like, noisy and what not for his boss fight, I love the weird vocals it has and how it sounds kinda more clean than the original one, I don't know if I prefer this one or the one from the first game, it's really hard to choose

Calamari Inkantantion 3MIX: I'm pretty sure he worked on this one, at least the wiki says he did, but I saw many people say he didn't, either way I think that his work as a DJ in here Is amazing, I believe this is a good song to end his story, although sad if I'm being honest here, I wish he got more original songs or even more remixes like, one with deep cut or off the hook, but who knows, maybe we'll have a Splatsville Memorial Mixtape when splatoon 3 ends and he'll have his moment to shine once again, he deserves more recognition, and so do the octarians and their music

Uprooted - chapter 2
(ch 1 - ch 3)
Crush the flower petals, add them to the boiling water, let it simmer for a while. Scott had done it a million times before, and barely needed to think about the process as he prepared yet another batch of turquoise dye. They were still coming out more blue than he wanted; the ferns he was using for green pigment weren't terribly effective, but he knew the only way to get greener dye was to use cacti, and the desert those grew in was a no man's land. Scott looked in the pot again- it looked more cyan than turquoise. He sighed. Well, Jimmy won't be able to tell the difference anyways, he thought.
Speaking of Jimmy, he seemed to be taking his sweet time today. He'd left for the nearest village very early, while Scott was still half-asleep, and it was now nearing sundown and he still hadn't come back. Worry began to grow in the back of Scott's mind; what if he'd had an accident or encountered a red-lifed somehow? It was entirely plausible, given Jimmy's luck.
But at that moment, as if the Universe wanted to ease his nerves, Scott looked outside and saw Jimmy pulling a cart full of items through the gate to their garden. He was wearing some kind of cloak with a hood that covered half of his face- Scott thought it looked a bit silly on him. Nevertheless, he was very happy to see Jimmy. He got up and went to the door to greet him.
“You're back!” he called out to him.
Jimmy seemed to jump at Scott's voice; he was looking at the ground, not meeting his eyes. “I'm back.” he set the cart down, but didn't walk any closer to the house.
“Oh god. I don't like that tone of voice. What's wrong?”
Jimmy seemed to sigh-- it was hard to tell from the distance. “I- I've had a bad day, Scott,” he said. Then he looked up at Scott and lifted the cloak from his head.
He looked dreadful. His skin was sickly pale, and seemed to be falling off of him at places. There was a hole in his forehead, from which a trail of dried blood came down his face, and a very faint trail of smoke seemed to be emerging from it.
And worst of all, his eyes were glowing red.
Scott, who had walked a few steps out of the door, dashed back inside, slammed the door shut and leaned against it. He took some deep breaths to try and calm his racing heart. It didn't work.
Jimmy was Red. Even his anxious mind couldn't have conceived of the possibility that Jimmy would come back to the house as a red-lifed today. He'd dismissed his worries of Jimmy getting into just one accident as himself being overly anxious; and now he'd apparently had two?
Even more, apparently no one had been around to dispose of the body properly the second time around, although his flaky, burnt skin indicated that they did try. But cremating a Red was tricky, he'd heard, and now Scott had to deal with the consequences; a killer wearing the face of his husband.
Scott let out a sob and slid downwards, still leaning against the door. He'd half-expected Jimmy to try to break in, but that didn't seem to happen. He's playing the long game, Scott thought. Knowing he would have to leave the house eventually.
He wasn't sure how long he sat there, but eventually Scott heard a sound: the familiar creaking of the fence gate leading to the pasture for their cows. A chill went down his spine; was Jimmy going to kill the cows?
Slowly, quietly, Scott got up, then opened the door. This is a bad idea, his rational half screamed, but he didn't want to just sit back and hide as a red-lifed destroyed his livelihood mere meters away. But when he peeked out of the doorway, he saw Jimmy, not butchering the cows, but instead approaching them slowly with an armful of wheat. They shied away at first, but then Scott saw Daisy, the eldest of the cows, get closer to Jimmy and gingerly begin eating out of his palm. The other cows followed, and Scott too left the doorway and approached the pasture.
He walked slowly. When he was halfway to the fence, Jimmy turned around to look at him, and he froze. Part of him wanted to turn around and go inside again, but Jimmy didn't look dangerous at all; he just looked sad.
“I'm just feeding them,” Jimmy said. His voice was hoarse, Scott noticed.
Scott swallowed a lump in his throat, then said: “What happened, Jimmy?” His voice still cracked.
“There was a fight in the marketplace, and then on the way back I met some thieves, and...” Jimmy trailed off. “I found your boots again, by the way.”
“...What?”
“Those boots you lost last time. Turns out some guys stole them, and then they tried to sell them back to me. They're on the cart.”
Scott hesitated. Was this a ploy to get him to turn his back to Jimmy? But no, there was a safe distance between them, and more importantly, Jimmy wouldn't have thought to do that. So he walked over to the cart and had a look. Sure enough, his favorite cyan boots were there, although there was more metalwork on them than before, and they were covered in blood.
Scott traced the blood with his fingers, then turned back towards Jimmy. “You didn't... kill anybody for these boots, did you?”
“No. of course not,” Jimmy replied. “They killed me for those boots. That's my blood on there.”
“Oh.” Scott looked at the boots again, and felt more revolted somehow. “That's not better.”
Jimmy shrugged apologetically. He was out of hay now, so he walked back towards the fence gate. Now that he was closer, Scott could see his red irises again; he felt the hairs on his neck raise up. When Jimmy opened the gate and stepped out of the pasture, Scott sprinted back into the house, and slammed the door shut yet again.
This time Jimmy did come to the door; although he didn't try to break it down, he just knocked gently. The sound still scared Scott. “Can I come in?” he asked.
“No!” Scott replied.
Jimmy didn't respond. Scott closed the sliding lock on the door, and went to his bedroom, feeling more alone than ever.

I had this theory about the connection between the Zonai and the Sheikah and I think Sidon might have proven me right??
Theory and spoilers below the cut!
After you finish the main quest for each of the four races across Hyrule you can recive an additional side quest from the four Sages.
Each one follows the same idea, solve a riddle and find the helm matching one of the Divine Beasts corosponding to a Sage.
The item description states that each helm was once worn by a warior "in a time beyond memory".

I first assumed that the game was talking about the Champions from 10,000 years ago, rather the Sages from the Age of Legends. Though they look similar to the helms worn by the orginal four Sages, they seem to be Sheikah in origin and were also available in Breath of the Wild. What I concluded was that the Sheikah took inspiration from the Zonai and this is just a small nod to the missing Divine Beasts.

But I had this theory that maybe the Sheikah and Zonai technology are one and the same and the almost bone like design of the Sheikah technology wasn't intentional, it's actually the foundation of everything made by the Zonai. The turquoise and gold falling away from age. All of this was based on the fact when you wear the helms, the sages spirit wears a matching helm but in the design of the Ancestors.

Like I said just a theory, until I did the quest for the Vah Ruta helm and Sidon says this.

Either Sidon has bad eye sight or this is the developers trying to hint at far more direct conection between the Zonai and the Sheikah.
There are some more examples that I'm not going to include here but I have to say this is the one that I think adds the most credence to the theory from everything I've seen so far. I'm excited to see what else I find!

Helmet Watch 2024
*cracks knuckles* I'm back to yell about driver helmets.
Like talking about and rating all the liveries last year, I had a lot of fun doing the same for the drivers helmets, so helmet watch has returned for 2024! (Under a read more as to not clog up everyone's dashes, with the drivers listed in alphabetical order by surname.)
NB - I'm just doing the "core" helmet designs, as if the drivers come out with one-off helmets at the rate they did last year I wouldn't have any free time.
Alex Albon (Williams)

Like the 2024 Williams livery, it's an evolution of last year's design. Though with less sharp angles and using something much more bubble font-esque.
We still have the double As which is neat and I also loooooooove the baby pink and navy blue combo, especially with how much pink is on the helmet. It will really pop against the dark blue livery of the car.

Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin)

Pretty much a copy and paste from last year's helmet with a couple of minor tweaks. But in saying that I do feel that the minor adjustments make the design look a lot less busy. Like last year the colour scheme is great and it'll look great with the car, and I love the Aston Martin wings by the visor, it's one of my favourite details.

Any feelings I had about Valtteri taking forever to drop his 2024 helmet design have been immediately forgiven. I absolutely love this Northern Lights inspired design so so much. Both because of how unique a design it is but also the execution of it is just gorgeous. I love all the inclusion of the North star and all the different constellations, and that the number 77 has also been written like waves from the aurora. I would genuinely buy a mini-helmet of this I love it that much.

Pierre Gasly (Alpine)

I absolutely LOVE this one. The splashes of white and the subtle gradient shading adds so much dimension to the whole design (proof that if done right monochromatic designs can absolutely work!). I also just love the shade of pale blue as well, it's going to look really nice with both liveries Alpine are running this year.

Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes)

Misty eyes aside about this being the last core helmet design from Lewis as a Mercedes driver, I do absolutely love this. It's pretty much another copy and paste from last year, minus the rainbow band on the top. I'm glad that Lewis kept the rainbow lines otherwise the contrast between the neon yellow and purple would look quite jarring. But like last year I absolutely love it (apart from the exposed carbon at the top)

JMD Helmets really do never miss. Like his helmet from last year I love the paint splatter effect and I really like the choice to change it from orange and purple to acid green. I'm unsure on what to make of the purple and green combo as it def plays into the whole Hulk nickname, but the shades chosen do look good together.

Charles Leclerc (Ferrari)

Currently kissing Charles on his pretty little head for the addition of the dark metallic red accents. It's so pretty and adds a lot of dimension to his helmet design (while I did like his '23 helmet, it did feel a bit plain). I also really like the pattern on the base of the number 16 going round the helmet, it's been done in just the right font size and colour that again adds some more dimension instead of looking busy.

Kevin Magnussen (Haas)

This is a complete 180 from his previous helmet designs, and while I have zero idea what the inspiration is I really like it!
The bright splash of turquoise is really nice (I will always love fun colours on helmets) and it complements the parrot design really well. (Again, I don't know why Kevin has put a parrot on his helmet, but it's fun so I'm allowing it). I would never have thought to pair turquoise and marigold together, but somehow it works, and both looks really nice on the off-white base.

Esteban Ocon (Alpine)

I am so happy to see Esteban carrying on the red and black colour scheme from last year. While I don't love this design as much as last year's (the big carbon fibre E is a tad off putting) it's still a really solid design that will not only stand out against the Alpine livery, but against the rest of the grid's helmets too.
He also gets a kiss on the head for keeping his helmet glossy instead of matte

I'm unsure how I feel about Checo's helmet this year. On the one hand it does have a more cohesive colour palette than last year (and I LOVE the traditional Mexican inspired patten on the blue base), on the other it does feel a bit simple. I also wish the Red Bull logo with the white outline had been used instead, the text is a bit hard to read against the blue. But I do enjoy the splashes of yellow that do well to set his helmet apart from Verstappen's

Another evolution of last year's design and I love the version for 2024! For me Oscar's helmet was too busy last year and I feel like it's been streamlined. My favourite part, the colour palette, has remained unchanged and like last year I just love how bright it is. I also really like the pattern on the medium blue base, it adds a really nice dimension to the overall design. However I do miss the silver holographic detailing from last year's helmet, it's a shame it didn't make the cut.

Daniel Ricciardo (Racing Bulls)

This is a colossal upgrade on last year's helmet (the tan and blue colourway was not it). And while the grey and silver colour scheme is plain, it definitely helps the flame design look a lot better than on last year's helmet and will look really good against the bright blue RB livery.
As with Gasly's helmet I also like the gradient shading, and the chrome (!!!) silver outline going around the flames.

George Russell (Mercedes)

I am so glad George stuck with a blue design instead of the acid green he trialled at some race last year. It's a really gorgeous shade of blue that looks stunning with the Mercedes W15 livery, and I really like the little bits of darker blue shading and the blue visor (again I don't talk about matching visors much but I do appreciate them!!).
He also gets a bonus point for having the black parts painted instead of carbon fibre.

Carlos Sainz Jr (Ferrari)

Again another copy and paste from last year, but thankfully with less black. It looks so much brighter with just having the black on the top. I like that the design is a even more abstract than his design last year, it definitely makes it look different. And of course the red and yellow colour scheme means that it will look really good with the Ferrari livery

I really, really want to like this design but the American flag just completely takes me out of it. If it wasn't there this helmet would be gorgeous because imho it's not needed as the white and blue with the red accents already does a great job in showcasing Logan's home country colours.
Apart of that, the design is really nice and it will look so stunning with the car, it just has an echo of a Haas US GP livery 😭

Lance Stroll (Aston Martin)

A moment of silence for the fallen Aston Martin wins, they were very pretty 😔
Lance's helmet design for 2024 is a throwback to the design he ran in his championship winning European F3 season, but refreshed in Aston Martin colours. I did have a somewhat negative reaction upon seeing the exposed carbon but the more I look at it the more I'm on board with it. It definitely helps that it's all over glossy. Also shoutout to Lance's continued commitment to the Aston brand by having the flashes of neon lime to match the car's livery, I will always appreciate a proper commitment to the bit.

The Japanese maple leaves are baaaaaaaack!!!!!
I'm not so sure on the navy base... but then I also don't know what colour base I would switch it out for that would look good and also complement the Racing Bulls livery. But Yuki's helmet was one of my favourites last year so I'm really happy to see a version of it back for 2024.

ngl I do like this a lot more than his design from last year. I love the cobalt blue (oh how I wish the RBR would be as bright as this) and I especially love the silver chrome accents, if they were a little bit thicker and more prominent I'd like them even more.
I also want to shoutout the red/orange duo-chrome visor, I never talk about them enough but I love it when the colour of the visors complement the rest of the helmet design (in this case the red and yellow in the Red Bull logo)
