How dirty of a doll or pony can I send?
Inside and out, these are both fine to come to the salon.
I may decline a pony or doll if they're dirtied with bodily fluids of any kind. I will be more than happy to talk you through the cleaning process so you can take care of that yourself.
However, if you are distraught and can't handle it, we can talk. I absolutely need a warning.
What happens if you damage a pony/doll someone sent?
I fix it.
For example, I got some 40Vol on a customer's Confetti's yellow hair and it bleached out the yellow color. I told the customer what had happened and did a partial rehair with vintage hair of the same color from my MLP G1 tail stash. That way the owner is informed and the pony is still full vintage.
Another example is that I was resetting the pose on a Flutterbye, and her feet turned white where they'd sat in a little boiling hot water (I didn't take a picture). I blasted them with a heat gun for a while and they're good as new.
And another was a Birthday Pony who's ribbons had been tied in knots and were weak. I snapped one when I went to recurl it, informed the owner, and they were amenable to replacement of all of the ribbons.
Repair is often risky. If I do damage that I can't fix, I will pay the going price for one of the same quality on eBay or order it for you and give it the salon process for free.
What hair do you use?
I use high-grade, silky smooth nylon mostly ordered from Shimmer Locks for full rehairs.
For partial rehairs like replacing a few plugs here and there or a forelock that was cut, I use vintage hair as long as I have it available in my stash of tails or can harvest enough from the pony's own tail without making the tail too thin. I do offer full tail replacements if I happen to have a replacement tail.
Can I request a hair style?
Absolutely! I can't guarantee that I'll be able to do the style you're wanting, but I'll certainly try. I can attempt a few different kinds of curls and have both a standard size and mini crimper.
You can also let me know if you want every pony's mane to be on the same side of their head. I'm not very consistent with that otherwise.
Why do you charge so much more for deflocking?
I hate doing it.
What paints do you use?
Right now I'm using Army Painter acrylic paints. I was using Liquitex before and found it difficult to get just the right consistency, whereas Army Painter has been easier for me to manipulate.
Why is your hair styling/photography/etc. so inconsistent?
I am not a professional anything and have a poor memory.
My photography is also inconsistent because I use my phone and every time I take my phone on or off of the cheap ringlight-phone-tripod the tripod moves.
The way I style a certain pony's hair will change between ponies because I don't remember how I styled it before and if I've had to flat iron it, I may not remember that it had been curly.
One of the great things about this being a hobby as opposed to a business is that I don't have to spend a lot of time on the parts that aren't fun (for me photography isn't fun), and don't have to be consistent. I just have to enjoy what I'm doing. If I can help out other people and get a little money so that I can keep doing what I do enjoy, that's a bonus.
Do you always ---
deflock So Soft Ponies?
No. I only do that when asked because I hate doing it. I will also deflock a pony I bought to clean and sell if the flocking is bad enough, but if the flocking is decent I don't ruin it.
straighten doll/pony hair?
No. I will do my best to preserve factory curl if it's present and the hair is in good enough condition it doesn't need flat ironed, but can't guarantee I will succeed...
How aggressively I treat hair depends entirely on the hair itself.

I'm in terrible pain on my neck and and shoulder-blades, so I needed comfort from my favorite slashers. You know the pain you get on your neck and upper-back that you can hardly turn or rotate your head or lift your arms up without hurting yourself?
Well I was hoping if you can write where the slashers (Jason Voorhees, Bubba Sawyer, Thomas Hewitt, Michael Myers, and your choice of slasher) help their S/O through the days with bad muscle joints (such as brushing their hair, lift heavy stuff, get them dressed, etc.) But the S/O whimpers a bit, not just in pain but how bad they felt for having their hubbies do this sort of labor for them. I can imagine that the slashers would have such big hearts.

Jason Voorhees
It was 3 am when you screamed out in pain when you tried to roll onto your other side, and jason jolted to your side immediately.
There was such an intense pain in your neck, you could hardly move. So jason signs " What's the matter, love???! What's wrong??" He stares at you with anxious eyes.
You explain what's wrong in a few huffs. He finally understood. He can't recall if this is something he's ever experienced before, maybe when he was little and his mother, Pamela, would have taken such great care of him.
He thinks he should be attentive to you like his mother was to him, and he assures you anything you need he is willing to do in a heartbeat.
He allows you to sleep in, and as you awake in the late morning, you find jason sitting at your bed side with some herbal tea he mustered from the forest. He crawls to your side and signs "I'm going to sit you up, please tell me if it hurts. I promise I'll hold your head as gently as possible". He lifted you so slowly and gently as he rested you against his chest. With one hand he holds your head and the other guides the tea for you to sip as you please.
Jason is so worried about you. What if you get worse? He's too worried thinking the worst when you may have just pulled a muscle and need a rest day.
Once he knows you're done, he carries you so carefully into the bathtub, he thinks some warm water will help ease your muscles. After washing you, he wraps you in a towel and sits you in his lap as he gets a brush and combs through your wet hair slowly and methodically.
You let out a whimper and he freezes like a deer in headlights. "Did I hurt you darling??". "No, it just feels so nice. Thank you my love, you've been doing so much for me. I feel so bad about it". He signs back- "Don't be silly, it's not a burden for me, I just want to make sure you're okay".
Jason notices you start to get tired, so he gets your pyjamas and puts your clothing on for you, guiding your limbs so that he can do the work for you.
He lays you in bed and wraps you in as many furs and blankets as he can to help aid you and holds you so closely, in hopes to send you to sleep.
Bubba Sawyer
The day prior, you had been helping bubba out in the field. He insisted that you stay inside, away from the wretched texan heat, but to no avail.
You were helping bubba repair some fences along the property line and carrying some of the new wooden planks.
When you awoke the next day, you couldn't even move without being in so much pain. The wood was older and so heavy. Your shoulders felt like they were on fire. You felt so weak. Bubba knew the exact feeling, so when he heard you yelp in pain, it was almost like he didn't need to ask.
He blurted out a few sounds, and since you knew bubba so well, you could tell what he was saying through his behaviours, sounds and expressions. You mustered up enough strength to say "My neck, it's sore. I can't move".
Drayton didn't care that you were in pain, he demanded that you and bubba were to go back out in the fields. Bubba tried to stand up for you, but Drayton blew a fuse.
Bubba had come up with a plan to ensure you wouldn't have to lift a finger, and to keep his brothers rage at bay.
Bubba signals that he just needs a few minutes. He runs outside and grabs a sun chair, a tall pole and big umbrella, along with a beer crate with a cold drink of tea for you. He set up the chair with some pillows so you could rest and be protected from the heat.
Bubba lifts you carefully, and walks you out to his nice set up for you. He carefully places you down, and kneels beside you. He looks at you with so much love and affection.
You grunt as you adjust in your seat. "Thank you so much Baby. This means the world to me. I love you, but I can't help but feel guilty that you're doing all this work. And I'm just sitting here" He replies with sounds as what you could guess as "I love you too, baby. Rest up. I don't want you to worry".
Bubba didn't mention his third part of the plan. He wanted you to watch him out in the heat working hard, admiring him. While he got to show off and impress his dear s/o.
When the sun begun to set, and you had finished your cup of iced tea, bubba carries you back home. He promises he will get you a nice, hearty meal and get you to bed early. There wasn't anywhere else you wanted to be.
Thomas Hewitt
You were out on a walk in a forest nearby the farm with Thomas. You felt a slight pinch in your neck, so you stopped for a second. Thomas looked at you with concern as you reassured him "I'm alright, my necks just a little sore".
You two continued your hike till nightfall, you two cuddled up into bed and slept. You awoke at 12 am, feeling disoriented as you struggled to turn over. Thomas woke up and was a little confused but certainly concerned.
He held you and comforted you till you slept again. He always thought sleep was the best medicine. When it came to the morning, he realised that his methods of sleeping off pain didn't always work.
He started to feel guilty about trying to get you to sleep it off. He knows it was well intended, but he hated to imagine how much pain you were in. What if you thought he was dismissing you? He made a silent vow to make it up to you.
Thomas helped you shower. He wishes that the water cylinder was in better condition so the water wasn't so... Lukewarm. You barely noticed it since you were in so much pain anyways.
He leaned you against his body as he used the loofa on you, gently washing and caressing you. He had remembered something about lavender oil being relaxing, so after he dried you off, he decided to massage some onto your body.
He made an effort to pay special attention to your shoulders and your calf muscles.
You couldn't help but feel bad that he was doing so much for you, while also having to balance hard work and his.... less than conventional family.
"Thomas.. you really didn't have to do all of this for me. What If your uncles get upset at you?"
All he does is look at you, and shushes you. You know he only means to assure you it's okay. He will manage to shoulder it.
You fall asleep again to his touch. Once Thomas is certain you are comfortable in your slumber, he leaves the room to go about his daily chores. The only thing consuming his mind is you, hoping his efforts might have helped you recover, even just a little.
Michael Myers
Michael was on another one of his... late night hunts when you decided you should get some sleep. You woke up in the late afternoon, to Michael just sitting upright in your shared bed sneaking candy corn up his mask to eat.
The sight of your big, tough man so sneakily eating candy make you burst into laughter. He had seemed like a child sneaking into the lounge on early Christmas morning to open his presents much before anybody was awake.
Quickly that laughter turned into yelping in pain. The intensity of your laugh had awakened such an intense pain in your neck mainly, but also your shoulders and the rest of your body.
Michael was very confused at first. He thought you were just hiding some sort of gremlin laugh from him. But soon after he realised you were genuinely just in pain.
He quickly cradled your face, he wanted you to explain to him what was wrong. And after you had told him, he decided he needed to do anything about it.
He went to get you a glass of water. Would that help? He gently sat you up against him, reminding you to let him move you. He tried to feed you the glass of water, but this sort of thing (being affectionate) was so unfamiliar to him before you came into his life.
His body wasn't quite used to making such gentle and slow movements. It was almost like his fine motor skills were learning something so brand new.
Before he knew it, his hands were shaky and he spilt the water on your (his) shirt. He huffed in frustration. Why couldn't he do this? Surely it wasn't so hard. You assured him "It's okay Michael, you're just trying to help me. Trust me it's okay".
Michael is the most stubborn person (or thing?) to exist ever, so it took him a while to stop pouting and swallow his pride. He realised he needed to get you out of that wet shirt though.
He gestured that he would change your clothes. He lifted off your shirt, wiped you down and gently put a fresh shirt on you. Hey, would you look at that. He's finally getting the hang of this.
Though he wouldn't let anybody live if they had witnessed soft michael. Only you get to see this side of him.
Michael got some of his favourite candies from his secret stash he never shared. But how could he resist this time?. You were in pain, and maybe this would help since you couldn't really do too much today, or maybe even for the next few days.
He handed you the plate, and you could tell that there was a childish grin on his face.
"oh Michael, you shouldn't have. This is so sweet of you.. I'm sorry I'm not of much help right now" Michael just put a finger to your lips to shush you.
He promised he'd take care of all the chores, and cooking while you needed to recover. Worry not my sweet one.
The Silent Brother
LMAO THIS ONE IS NOT A SLASHER IK ITS JUST FOR MY OWN FAN SERVICE 💀💀💀
You were visiting your lover in secret. Well, only you thought it was going to be secret, the silent brothers can read your mind anyways.
You found the secret entrance to their layer in the city of bones, so you walked in quietly. You were beginning to feel light headed and this continuous pinch in your neck.
You thought nothing of it and traveled lower into the chambers to see your lover. All of the brothers knew what was going on. And not that they couldn't approve of it, they didn't really see themselves getting in between you two. That was for their brother to decide if this is truly part of his will.
You run to him and embrace him, and he stands there so stiff and awkwardly, he wraps his arms around you.
It's not that he doesn't enjoy this, it's just such a forgotten sensation. He had sacrificed so many parts of his humanity, so he didn't think much of these mortal affections.
You tell him that you just wanted to see him. But in the back of your mind, you're wondering why this annoying pain isn't going away. And you begin to wonder why it keeps growing more intense.
He reads your mind, and speaks to you telekinetically, in such a husky voice. "You've done something to your neck I presume. Do not worry. I will take care of this".
He leads you to an empty room and guides you to sit down. He raises his scarred hands to your neck and uses some healing magic to help you. "It'll take half of an hour to work. Just sit here with me until you feel better my love".
You sigh and lean into him, as he wraps an arm around you. Being with somebody like him was so strange. He had so little of his humanity left in him. He seemed cold, less emotional and like he was so out of this realm.
But that's what you really loved about him. He was mysterious and otherworldly. No one could compare to a creature like him. He was the most interesting being you ever laid your eyes on.
And he was strangely attentive, in his own way of course. It just enticed you further and further down this spiral with him. All that you knew is that you deeply loved each other. And how love can be shown in such different, and strange ways.

What kind of work can be done on a commodore 64 or those other old computers? The tech back then was extremely limited but I keep seeing portable IBMs and such for office guys.
I asked a handful of friends for good examples, and while this isn't an exhaustive list, it should give you a taste.
I'll lean into the Commodore 64 as a baseline for what era to hone in one, let's take a look at 1982 +/-5 years.
A C64 can do home finances, spreadsheets, word processing, some math programming, and all sorts of other other basic productivity work. Games were the big thing you bought a C64 for, but we're not talking about games here -- we're talking about work. I bought one that someone used to write and maintain a local user group newsletter on both a C64C and C128D for years, printing labels and letters with their own home equipment, mailing floppies full of software around, that sorta thing.
IBM PCs eventually became capable of handling computer aided design (CAD) work, along with a bunch of other standard productivity software. The famous AutoCAD was mostly used on this platform, but it began life on S-100 based systems from the 1970s.
Spreadsheets were a really big deal for some platforms. Visicalc was the killer app that the Apple II can credit its initial success with. Many other platforms had clones of Visicalc (and eventually ports) because it was groundbreaking to do that sort of list-based mathematical work so quickly, and so error-free. I can't forget to mention Lotus 1-2-3 on the IBM PC compatibles, a staple of offices for a long time before Microsoft Office dominance.
CP/M machines like Kaypro luggables were an inexpensive way of making a "portable" productivity box, handling some of the lighter tasks mentioned above (as they had no graphics functionality).
The TRS-80 Model 100 was able to do alot of computing (mostly word processing) on nothing but a few AA batteries. They were a staple of field correspondence for newspaper journalists because they had an integrated modem. They're little slabs of computer, but they're awesomely portable, and great for writing on the go. Everyone you hear going nuts over cyberdecks gets that because of the Model 100.
Centurion minicomputers were mostly doing finances and general ledger work for oil companies out of Texas, but were used for all sorts of other comparable work. They were multi-user systems, running several terminals and atleast one printer on one central database. These were not high-performance machines, but entire offices were built around them.
Tandy, Panasonic, Sharp, and other brands of pocket computers were used for things like portable math, credit, loan, etc. calculation for car dealerships. Aircraft calculations, replacing slide rules were one other application available on cassette. These went beyond what a standard pocket calculator could do without a whole lot of extra work.
Even something like the IBM 5340 with an incredibly limited amount of RAM but it could handle tracking a general ledger, accounts receivable, inventory management, storing service orders for your company. Small bank branches uses them because they had peripherals that could handle automatic reading of the magnetic ink used on checks. Boring stuff, but important stuff.
I haven't even mentioned Digital Equipment Corporation, Data General, or a dozen other manufacturers.
I'm curious which portable IBM you were referring to initially.
All of these examples are limited by today's standards, but these were considered standard or even top of the line machines at the time. If you write software to take advantage of the hardware you have, however limited, you can do a surprising amount of work on a computer of that era.

(The only shading style that can work with the wobble lines is the blobby shading)
Now along with that there are some extra ways your commission can be done!
If you want anything to be symmetrical, it'll be 30% off
If you want it done in a chibi style, it's 10$ off
If you want an extra character, it'll be an extra 50%
And if you want anything animated, the price is doubled

This can all be a bit confusing, I know, but if you show me a drawing of mine you want me to replicate the style of, I can easily let you know the price! I'm open for talking things out, and I'm also open to drawing a lot of things! Furries, humanoid characters, odd original specieses, even uhh raunchy stuff!

I usually give updates for 1-2 sketch phases, a color phase, and then the finished piece. Once I send you one update, I'll wait for your approval before moving onto the next phase. During these updates, any requested changes should coincide with the stage of the artwork (Posing during sketching, color changes during colors, etc.). Please don't have any fear however if you do need to make a last minute change, just keep it reasonable please.
I usually add filters onto my art, I'll be more than happy to send unfiltered alternate versions upon request. Feel free to also personally request different filtered looks (Making the piece pastel, adding a static filter, giving the piece a pride flag overlay, etc.) I'm always happy to experiment.
When commissioning an animation, please let me know whether you'd like a smoothly made animation using Live2D or a frame-swap animation. Feel free to ask for examples, but just note that these you'll need to pick one or the other

Can I just say I love how you can be somewhat critical about certain things about totk without completely and unnecessarily trashing it and even adding humor. I wish more people were like that.
Aw, thank you! I'm just trying to make sure folks feel safe to enjoy things here (as long as, yknow, the respect goes both ways).
I definitely used to be someone who would trash stuff unnecessarily, and I'll always credit a mutual (although I did forget their handle,,,I'm so sorry) I had at the time for just letting me go on a long rant about why something bothered me and went, "That sounds really personal, but that got nothing to do with this." And all at once I realized I'd been projecting my needs/wants/expectations onto other peoples work (commercial or otherwise), and holding strangers responsible for serving me, specifically! Which is an absurd thing to expect from anyone!!
And sometimes I still forget the world doesn't revolve around me, glorious me, and I have to go back and apologize and do my mental health homework to figure out why I reacted a certain way, and why I took something so personally. But it's been really helpful to try and do the homework first, or type that whole salty take up and delete it or draft and review it again in the morning, before you make a stranger (or a friend!) feel bad or unsafe with you for the crime of enjoying something you didn't (which I have done, many times, and feel very bad about).
Plus, I've learned that if you're someone who is always analyzing and critiquing things, those moments can be really good practice for (respectfully! privately! in your own space! not on that stranger's post! not in that poor dev's DMs!) considering what you might have done differently, assuming you had the same parameters and resources available. I find this is especially good practice if you plan on entering a creative field! I promise you get a lot more sympathetic with how things turn out when you force yourself to dream within a budget and a deadline.
(also being nice to professionals is good practice! Some of them are jerks, true, but 99% of devs artists designers directors etc are just doing their best under a ton of stress and pressure to make everyone happy, and they're usually really proud of what they're able to accomplish, and they are absolutely not getting paid enough to deal with the comment section)
Once you let go of that need to be Correct and have control over stuff that isn't about you, you end up having a lot more fun and a lot less limitations for playing in the sandbox, and with other creatives! Plus you learn about yourself, and what your priorities and tastes are. You become a better story teller and collaborator when you can not only find but actively look for the good in things you may have completely dismissed as a kneejerk reaction to not liking something about it.
And again, I'm definitely still an ass, a lot more often than I'd like to be. I still struggle with that need to be Correct and to have complete control over my sandbox. I still get defensive and have to navigate rejection sensitivity when someone's idea contradicts mine. I definitely understand the reactivity when something means a lot to us, and it takes practice to share when you're used to being protective! But it's so, so worth it.
You meet such amazing people and find such wonderful, supportive communities when you embrace two cake theory. I highly recommend making an effort to expand your perspective and be a part of that support.

-In my opinion, without a doubt, would blush RED after the request came out of your mouth or reading the text you sent.
-He grew up with two older sisters, based on the anime I'm just guessing that the youngest sister undeniably must have had him run to the store to get her pads when she rans out of it.
-Kaito will throw a fit just for the show but since it's emergency, for his s/o nonetheless, he'll throw his ego and embarrassment to the side and run to the store.
-He doesn't strike me as a person who will stays there for longer than he could have, details on what to be bought sent, find it, buy it and run back to you.
'This darn thing, why is there so many!? Where the heck is this brand's section!?'
-Cursing himself and the situation while he's looking for it, grouchy face caught the other customers attention that they don't even try to get close to the aisle, opting to wait for him to get the hell out of the store first before doing so.
-Despite him acting like that, Kaito would also probably went to grab few things like snacks and ice creams on the way, based on what he remembers how his sisters behaved before.

Yamanouchi Ryouhei
-Cute and bubbly Ryouhei absolutely will turns red all over, letting out cute surprised screech over the request. He has a sister who hasn't leave the house in some amount of time, it would be a normal errand to run for his sister -if his mother isn't available to do it.
-To him, a family member asking for the favour is fine and normal, but for his s/o to ask for such help is a big deal! It is a whole new world or experience all over!
-Though he will be getting undoubtedly shy and timid as if its his first time buying feminine products, he will get it done instantly. Entering the same aisle he been going to whenever he's out to get snacks and restock his sister's necessities, now it feels different. It is for different relation, different brand, different, different, different!
-If Ryouhei could not finds it, albeit his sudden timidness, he's not afraid to ask for the staff's helps.
"Excuse me! Where could I find this type of brand?"
"I'll be coming to you soon! Do you need anything else? How about this chocolate? My nee-san has always asked for this whenever her cycle starts"

Takehaya Seiya
-Personally to me I don't think Seiya would give it that much of a thought.
-Until he reached the store, despite having been told the exact brands and types, Seiya will be calculating curiously on how each of them differs diving deep on the materials.
'What if the company just decided to stops producing this type of pads/tampons, I wonder if she has alternatives to this if that ever happens. I need to do some research.'
-Getting back to you to give the products, Seiya will be asking you questions related to his inquiries, what makes you choose the brand, do you not use another, etc
-Seiya might not be the one using it, but your comfort, both of you need to be prepared -is what he thinks. He's knowledged enough to know basic things and cares for this stuff, the cramps, the tendency for females negative emotions will often take place during the cycle, the changes in appetite, etc.
-He will personally searches for things that could comfort and put the pain at ease, not really depending on the thoughts of making you dependant to medications -teas, chocolates, hot packs.
"I've checked reviews online, about 70% of them agrees that brand X's product shares the same comfort as the brand that you're using, want to try that out later?"
"It appears in studies that chocolates could help with the cramps, make sure you eat these later okay?"

Kisaragi Nanao
-Obviously, unquestionably won't bat an eye on your request. Nanao grew up with two younger sisters, the opposite of Kaito but surely enough he had faced same situation as Kacchan did without being forced and will completely understand the heavyness, desperation and his sisters' feelings that leads him to sometimes volunteer to restock them.
"Oi~" His voice ringing inside of the house calling for his sisters. "Nii-chan will be going to get groceries, do you need to restock your stuffs?"
-Nanao won't feel an ounce of awkwardness or embarrassment going to the store straight to the feminine hygiene aisle and browse around, sometimes staying for too long in curiousity of those wings, non-wings, liners and stuff.
Looking at the endless rows of feminine products that his eyes started to hurts due to the bright packaging as he whispered to himself, "Does the wings and non-wings type makes that much of a difference when you wear it? Hmmmm, why is that one so small?"
-He also strikes me as the type of boyfriend who keeps pads on him, literally like in all the bags that he uses will have one of your favourite brand.
It was on your date after the training camp, the both of you went to the mall, having fun until you felt the dampness on your underwear that you excused yourself. Nanao was waiting outside the toilet for you when he got the LINE text from you.
"My cycle starts, I'm sorry but could you grab me some pads? I'm really sorry! >-<;;"
"Just pads are you sure? I could grab some new undergarments too 🐸"
"Just pads is fine!"
A second after Nanao grabs a female stranger that just came out of the toilet asking if he could get inside to assist you, which melt the older female's heart. She announced it in the toilet and the occupants doesn't seem to mind, the elders looking closely at him making sure he's not doing anything funny.
"(Y/N) which stall are you using?"
A meek voice came out one of the stall, Nanao went infront of it and opens his small sling bag getting a pad out handing it to you. "How is it? Do you need my jacket?"
-Nanao will, without a doubt, assure you that it is a small matter, one that you shouldn't feel burdened nor be embarrassed to ask him for his help.

Narumiya Minato
-Will most probably be shy at first when you asks for his help but since it can't be helped -emergency request, the most important thing would be his s/o's comfort rather than his embarrassment right?
- Minato are the one who took care of things back at his home since his father most of the time were busy working, ever since his mother passed away, he took the reign to take care of things at home. He's the one who cleans the house and cooks the meals, it is only natural that he is also the one taking care of groceries.
- Hence him knowing the time for their local markets' sales schedule -date and time. For Minato who probably remembers the store like the back of his hand, in all likelihood has been avoiding the feminine care aisle all his life.
-Getting to the store he will know where to go right away without wasting any time, though upon reaching the aisle he is very likely to feel really awkward as his eyes wanders around to find said products that you asked for -brands, size, types and all.
-To presume that he might gets confused and everything, Minato won't wont let anything deters him from asking the staff or any female customer down the aisle.
'Sixteen pads for each small package for this brand, if I buy two of this... It's ten cent cheaper than the bigger package of 24...'
'What else would someone on their cycle would need other than this, hmmm...'

Fortune Lenormand oracle/art deck - new edition + limited time free readings!
I'm excited to announce my Fortune Lenormand oracle/art deck is available again in a new edition (the biggest change: it now has a custom box!) yay!!
To celebrate, I thought it'd be fun to offer some free readings, the kind I used to do back when I was tabling at events! I personally find the 36-card Lenormand system accessible and enjoyable for both personal and creative prompt-type purposes. These readings will use the 2-card spread, which is easy to do!
How this works
To submit a request for a free reading, send it through my ask box between now (Fri Oct 27) and Sun October 29, 2023 midnight EST.
Optional: Along with your request, include your question and two numbers of your choice from 1-36.
I'll do as many readings as I can before the end of October.
One question per person please!
I am not taking anonymous requests and these readings will be posted publicly. So don't share anything you're not comfortable with strangers on the Internet seeing!
I reserve the right to turn down a reading for any reason (the most likely reasons are if a question is rude/tasteless/inappropriate etc. or if I get too busy and can't do all the requests I get).
Asking your question
Your question must be an open-ended one, and not a question that can be answered with "yes" or "no".
Ironically, even though this deck is called "Fortune", I use them as tools for self-reflection and creative stuff, not fortune telling. It is an opportunity to open a dialogue with your self/subconscious!
For example, instead of "Should I [go to this event, do this thing, ___" or "Am I/Is someone/something else going to ___, try something like "What should I consider if I were to ___?" "Why do I want ___?" "What am I afraid of/hopeful for with regards to ___?" "How might I approach ___?" and so on.
You can learn more about this philosophy, and also get ideas for phrasing your question, on my site - check out the section that starts with "Framing your question" and up to/including "Reading Examples".
Also, you can have fun! Ask a question for your OC or a character you're writing! Ask questions for creative prompts! "I'm stuck in a fanfic I'm writing about X, Y and Z doing [whatever they're doing] and need an idea!" "I'm designing a new character, what could I incorporate into their personality or backstory?" "I want to draw a picture of my OTP and would like a prompt for inspiration!" and so on.
Decide what your question is before you make your request and don't forget what it is!

If you do tell me your question, it may help me give you more specific suggestions for how you can interpret the cards. If you're asking a creative prompt question, having details means I can suggest more relevant ideas for you to use as jumping off points.

Could you do a TL;DR of the whole Kino thing, please?
i can't promise that this will be much shorter but i'll do my very best for you anon!
DISCLAIMER ONCE AGAIN DO NOT HARASS KINO OR DO ANYTHING STUPID, i'm not your dad but use some common sense
i'm pulling info from the doc currently available here and asks and messages i've received which are available in the tag kinodraws on my blog, everything is alleged, use your own brain and make your own judgement on whether you wish to support kino
kino (they/them), current account kinodraws on most platforms, is a fairly popular online artist and now tattoo artist who has for years on various accounts scammed people out of money via unfulfilled commissions, fundraisers and recently even a charity zine (the doc mentions a bunch of other allegations of bad behavior and random stuff like ghosting webcomic companies etc but i'll try to keep this brief and focus on what i feel is most relevant)
some of kino's previous accounts and their scamming related to them:
PAISELEY, currently permabanned on furaffinity, here's a livejournal of a bunch of people corroborating their experiences being scammed by kino through unfulfilled commissions
CAPONE, also permabanned on furaffinity for the same reasons
RIVETS, permabanned once again on furaffinity for scamming
ARTIST BEWARE PAGE, the user got a refund after nearly an entire year of messaging kino about the subject
RUN ME THROUGH ZINE, all pages of which kino deleted, the proceeds of which were supposed to go to charity, you can find a lot of the things related to this on my tag and pinned post
it was an ofmd zine and was very badly managed (missing artists and pieces etc etc) that ended up never being released
kino ghosts the zine, deletes the pages and pockets the money made (allegedly $1300 but we have no real way of knowing how much the proceeds actually were), posts a falsified receipt only after people pressure them to speak on the matter after months of silence, people contact the charity and the charity reports kino donated just $1
kino once again goes silent and only after a giant uproar they FINALLY donate the money to the charity, but not before they blame someone else for not posting receipts about it (it was kino's responsibility) and guilt tripping people about how they've been harassed (again i do not condone harassment but people literally wanted them to just donate the money where it was supposed to go in the first place and they refused to even address that nor why they forged the first receipt)
kino also has a tendency to make expensive frivolous purchases (electronics, a hot tub, tattoos, a custom chair....) time and time again once they've scammed money out of people via whatever method they've chosen (they often post about these purchases too after deleting whatever emergency commissions post or a post asking for donations), and while far be it from me to tell someone what to do with their finances, they can't seem to stop scamming in order to get money
so i'd strongly suggest not supporting kino! they manipulate, lie and steal and claim they're a victim of some mass bullying campaign when in reality they've spent seventeen years scamming people out of money and people are getting rightfully angry! they also will likely continue to do so as long as people give them money
again use your own brain when reading people's testimonies about kino, a lot of them in the tag on my blog, but i believe these people and that their experiences are real considering the number of messages i've received (some of which people wished to remain private)
kino's made their bed and i want them to finally lie in it, so even if one person is convinced not to support kino via all this information then i'll be satisfied

Do you happen to know why people seem to hate Magui so much?
ok so I'll do a quick reply once bc even if I can't rly support a woman I still will NOT encourage dogpiling onto her or the fangirl jealousy-motivated witch hunts - esp when a decent chunk of the grid have done similar or worse and get a pass!! I won't defend anyone's objective wrongs but I won't ignore the fact that at times certain fans' morality is imbalanced much more heavily toward women than men.
I'm over-using "allegedly" for obv purposes but just to say these are only the things where there's photo or video proof, I'm not including anything that's just rumors. and I unfortunately do love reading gossip but I won't disappoint myself enough to personally catalog it so pls do not ask for links etc. if you want to look it up then it's readily available.
allegedly saying the n-word multiple times on video (very clearly tbh)
xenophobia generally but the worst was the extremely overtly Islamaphobic tweet about a bathroom sign (like, you couldn't just mistake this as an innocent joke hence why this isn't "allegedly")
allegedly defending her father who allegedly has physically attacked a woman and family member
alleged blackfishing (the rule is that if black women find it offensive then yes it is, even if it was part of a fake tanning "trend")
posted an nsfw photo of her then-boyfriend to twitter before eventually deleting it and saying it was an accident (a lot of ppl questioned how easy it is to accidentally post an nsfw photo to twitter and also raised the question of what if the photo had been of a woman - so use your own judgement on that)
I'll only mention in passing the whole highly public cheating and messiness bc honestly, to me that stuff is wrapped up in relationship drama and shouldn't be classed with objectively problematic behavior. some people are messy quietly, Magui just happens to be messy pretty openly !!
personally, while I won't be posting content about her the same way I do Lily or even Rebecca, I won't go out of my way to not rb content she happens to be in. so far all that's happened is the same as what happened last year (being seen alone only once and then in groups followed by them living totally separate lives) and Lando went on stream with Max to deny all of that as dating so who even knows! I will say that while I don't have the image there was a fairly recent interview an Italian magazine where Lando said he was planning on staying single for to focus on his driving so ??
also: pls note that I don't want to use my blog to discuss or perpetuate gossip and unless it's like this ask and pretty straightforward I won't be answering <3

Hey, just a heads up, I'm going to launch a poll about what book we do next sometime in the next few months. If you have an idea for some sort of monster book you'd like to see, let me know. ESPECIALLY if they have some sort of public resource I can grab pictures from from, since the visual is kinda important here. Doesn't have to be from WotC or Paizo either. Other systems are fine, just has to have art for me to pull from.
I likely won't respond to what you send in, but I will note them down and pick some of the most popular. 5e's Monsters of Multiverse and the PF1e/2e Bestiary 1 are automatically on the list. Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes and Volo's Guide were combined to make Monsters of Multiverse, so don't bother putting them down.
EDIT: After looking into it and thinking for a bit, I'm actually not going to accept 3rd party companies making for someone else's system. Unless like, they're cool with it. I know, it hurts me too, but as a small creator myself I find it hard to ignore when they have a "keep it PG" request when you're using thier stuff. Even if it's not something I would care about, I get it. Details if you care below the break.
Everyone understandably wants Kobold Press. Makes sense, I love them too, backed 3 of thier books. At first the issue was just a lack of publicly available resources for the pictures. The wikis don't have them, there's like a dozen or so pictures released between all the artists combined, etc.
However, I looked into their policies. and they do specifically ask not to use or mention their stuff in anything inappropriate for minors. Since they're 1-2 dozen often overwhelmed people at any given time, they have no way of clawing things back if their stuff is shown in a way they aren't comfortable with. I know that's not exactly a rare request, it's one I would happily ignore for a megacorp like WotC, but I've casually chilled with a larger number of friends than that.
Which made me realize, like, they're one of the bigger creators? Most groups are even smaller, with even fewer options if they weren't comfortable and likely even more attachment. I guess it never occurred to me since I do not care at all about usage of my characters or work, unless you're like making cash off it or claiming it as your own. But it just didn't sit right with me. So with larger places like Paizo or WotC, I have no qualms. But I think I'll lay off small companies and what are essentially homebrewers for now.

how i make gifs using filmora x
(for anon ❤️)
read under the cut!
hey!! thanks for reading this! just a few notes before i explain about my editing process:
filmora x works very differently from photoshop. it's a video-editing software anyways, so treat it like that!
always use high-quality sources!! most of my issues with grainy gifs come from using low-quality sources. so, i always ensure to use sources at 1080p, at least!
if i'm creating multiple gifs from one match, i usually download the entire match (which is a hugeeee file 😵💫 but it's so worth it!!). but if it's only a scene or two, i screen record them! i have an astro supersport subscription and a beinsports account, so i don't have an issue screen recording clips, as their content are always in high-quality! but if you're using other sources or streams, then do ensure the quality is good!!
if the only available source is of low-quality, my trick is to make smaller gifs! for smaller gifs, i usually keep a 1:1 or 4:3 size ratio, and post them side-by-side in a single post - usually two in a row!
general colouring stuff applies here as well, you can check out the photoshop guide i've linked in the ask!
remember, there isn't one "correct" way to gif, you can gif however you like!
and now without further ado:-
step one: adjust video settings, speed and length
after importing the clip into filmora, setting the aspect ratio, resolution and frame rate according to preference, the first thing i'd do is to adjust the speed of the clip. i like to slow them down, so i usually go for a 0.5x speed. you can always adjust the speed to your preference!
i like to keep my gifs within a 3 to 5-second length, depending on the content, so i'll trim the clip or adjust the speed as desired. if the clip is shaky, i usually add stabilization at about 10%, but you can adjust as you like! here's an example of a clip before and after speed reduction:
step two: auto-enhance
once the clip is at your preferred length, size and speed, now it's time to make it look pretty! in filmora, there's an 'auto-enhance' feature, so i usually begin with that, setting it somewhere between 50% to 100%. here's an example of how it looks like before and after auto-enhancing at 100%:
step three: colour correction
head over to 'advanced colour correction', where you can use either the given presets, or manually adjust to your liking. i always manually adjust them!! you can also start off with a preset and make additional manual adjustments as I did below! what i did here was to darken it, then adjust the colour enhancement, white balance (hue and tint), colour (exposure, brightness, contrast, vibrance, saturation), lighting (highlight, shadow, black, white), and hsl (for this example, i adjusted only the red).
you can also save your adjustments as custom presets so that you can use them again in the future!
here's a quick look at how i do the colouring! from the before and after colour correction examples, you can see that this is the important part of the whole process!!
step four: sharpen
once i'm satisfied with my colouring, i sharpen them by adding the 'luma sharp' effect (usually at 50% or 70% alpha and 50% intensity)
here's how it looks like before and after sharpening:
step five: final touches and exporting
before i export, i make some final tweaks to the brightness, contrast and saturation, etc., ... and voila!! there also many other effects available for you to add (grainy effect, blur effect, etc.) so feel free to play around!
once you're satisfied with your result, it's time to export! now, video-editing softwares HATE gifs. you can always just export as gif from filmora directly, but i don't really like the way it turns out 😭 so, i export them as video (.mp4) and use external gifmakers (like ezgif!) to convert them from video to gif!
aaaand that's all!! here's a comparison of the original clip vs the end result!
final note: remember to size your gifs correctly for tumblr (540px for full width, and 268px for half), and keep each gif within the size limit of 10mb!! if you find that your gifs exceed the size limit, try reducing the number of frames or removing duplicate frames, increasing the contrast, or you may also crop the height if necessary.

hello my loves!!!! long time no talk!!!!! 💕💕🫶🏻🫶🏻
things have been very crazy and insane lately, between doctors appointments for me, a pending surgery for my step-dad, taking care of my niece, and everything else in between. but!!
the long awaited day6 comeback is finally upon us in two hours!!! some of you might know i got into day6 right around the time 'right through me' and eternal dropped, and i was so excited! and then...they all immediately enlisted lmao. as i described to a friend the other day, i felt like i was led into a looney tunes style trap discovering them. having to wait out that time was awful, but we slowly got them all back and now! we're finally here!
if you were around for 'letters with notes' i'll be pretty vigilant in getting everything posted (mostly) on time, first few days is always kind of insane, but it should all be up in a decently timely manner! i am making a change in regards to video call stuff, mostly in that if it's not available in a global sense, i probably won't post about it, mostly because they can be kinda finicky in regards to even applying, and i don't want to lead you guys into a false sense of excitement. if they are though, don't worry! i got you! gonna keep the masterpost updated as well, performances, promo, etc.

terribly sorry to bother, but I've been loving your screenshots since I stumbled on your blog, and like 100% genuinely: how do you get them to look like that? Is it all done in game or is it some combo of mods & shaders? Cause every time I see a cool pose I'm just left wondering how you did it. Obviously I wouldn't ask you to make a massive tutorial just for me, but if there are any resources or general things you'd be willing to share, I'd be eternally grateful!

To answer your question: My gposes are not a product of the vanilla game alone. I'm slapping my explanations under a read more since it's a bit long:
Firstly, I am running reshade, an open source post-processing injector. It's a program that can (in the simplest terms) run various visual filters over a video game in real time. Most everyone I know made the jump from Gshade to reshade last year, so if you look up "reshade for ffxiv" you should be able to find a handful of tutorials. When it comes to finding presets, there are a lot of independent shader devs for ffxiv and generally a quick google search should bring you to a few. Most of the presets I use are outdated holdovers from the GShade days, and I don't know if they are available anymore; so unfortunately I can't recommend any directly, sorry!
In general, I lean towards shaders that enhance the overall brightness and vibrancy of the (imo muddy looking) default graphics. Arsay can quickly get over exposed by the in game 3 point lighting, so putting a shader that boosts the brightness overall really helps preventing that. I set up my lights in gpose at 2, put the character lighting to 100, pick a shader with a LUT that gives me the colours and brightness I want and thats usually enough. sometimes I'll hit the manual brightness in game and mess with that too. I often go into the preset of the shader and muck about with the Depth of field settings depending on what I want.
An important note regarding the use of reshade: While reshade does not directly effect in game files or gameplay and it's technically not against TOS (as far as I have read), it is still highly encouraged that screenshots taken with shaders on do not have the ffxiv screenshot watermark visible. Reshade has it's own screenshot button that you can map to any key of your liking that will capture the game and the applied shaders without any watermarks.
If you have an nvidia graphics card, I believe you should also have access to the geforce post-process correction tools, and could use that as well to enhance the game visuals. However, I am under the impression it's solely corrective settings (brightness/contrast, vibrancy, saturation, etc.) and you do not have the ability to adjust the depth of field setting, apply LUTs, mess with ambient occlusion, etc. Aka the more in depth rendering stuff that would make your graphic card fan go brrr. I've personally never tried the nvidia filter system so maybe that's incorrect information. Best to do independent research on that!
As well, on the occasion I will bring some screenshots into photoshop and do further, fine tuned, tonal corrections there. Generally this is only when I'm trying to achieve a look that I can't get in game and I try to keep it to a minimum. When I'm working on big photosets or comics, I'll end up doing more corrections just to make sure colours/tones/shading are consistent through out.
On to the second part of the question: the posing. I do all my posing with this tool. It is a tos crime, however it's client-side only and completely undetectable to other players. It gives you full access to character rigs and allows you to not only build your own poses, but export and import poses, outfits, props used by npcs or seen in cut scenes, and character data as well. Tons of people will upload pose files on the various mod archives for others to use, so even people who don't want to mess around with rigs can have fun with their characters. I personally love posing, and it's something I'm very comfortable doing since I have a background in 3D modelling and animation. I do believe in working smarter and not harder though, so what I tend to do is apply an in game animation cycle to my character in question that has a frame or key pose close enough to what I need, pause the animation, turn on posing, and start rotating bones. I never really looked up any tutorials myself tbh, I kinda just messed around with things and figured the tool out as I went along. That said, there are tutorials on youtube if you search for them. "Anamnesis ffxiv guide" or something along those lines should bring up good results.
Anam also gives you further camera control than what is available in game, allowing you to fine tune its position to the .001 degree. You can increase the FOV and zoom range past the typical amount. Bring your character and camera pretty much anywhere on the map too. And you can export your camera setting to use between gpose settings! It's a really great tool, though it has some quirks and can in specific instances crash your game (never change a character while fishing lol)
That's pretty much it! I know this wasn't really much of a guide, so sorry about that. Most of my gposes are a product of seeing a fuzzy image/concept in my head and messing around with various compositions, locations, lighting conditions, ect. until I bring that idea into clarity. It's hard to explain that process in ways beyond "fucking around and finding out (positive)"
I suppose to anyone else reading this has specific references in mind, please pass them along to sailor-artemis ! I know being told "just google it lol" isn't super helpful but I really just tend to figure things out on my own ^^;

Just wanna ask if this is possible... if the ikegen server will end by step 2024, can you or will you translate other suitors route you didn't? Like Benkei? Yoichi and others?
Also, I was shocked when they announce they would end the server when I was still hoping for an English release. I really thought it would be famous cause I thought many people are fans of ayakashi and historical japan stuffs, right?
You can still play the game even after Sep 2024. Your progress, cards, avatar items etc..all will be still there. But there won't be any new events or new stories.
I can translated stories if I want but I don't know if people would be interested in a dead game. Also my internship would be starting so I have to make time to play and translate games. It's going to hectic. I don't think I can translate main stories of the other male leads because it's too much work and by that time, new cybird game would be released and everyone including me will start playing that.
So yeah.
Also, eng titles for the games will only be announced if the Jp market is doing well. Compare to Ikepri and Ikevil which released after Ikegen, was anyone even talking about Ikegen? I am asking the eng players. When Ikepri came out, there were eng players here playing the jp title. Even when Ikevil came out, there were many eng players here playing the jp title. What about Ikegen? How many of you guys were playing the jp title when it was still available?.....No one right? Everyone was like "I'll only play once the eng ver comes out." Did it come out? No! Why? Because very little people were showing interest in playing it. That's why we didn't get an eng release because the devs thought that we weren't interested in it.
They were barely hanging on. Even the Jp fandom could see it. The Jp fandom was happy that the game was still ongoing and when the news hit on Valentines day, all the Jp fandom was depressed. Many of them are even filling questionnaires and feedback forms to let the devs know that they want this game to continue. But I don't think anything is going to change because even if they brought back the game, people are not going to play it.
Editing me: The sad part is, the devs might now think that a story like Ikegen won't be profitable and well liked by the players and they might not create a game similar to it. It seems like Ikegen really felt like a passion project and maybe that's why they kept hanging on until 2024. After seeing the revenue for the recent update, maybe they thought continuing the game won't be profitable because this game had so many things like card stories, new card illustrations for every new events, new voice lines etc. Some of the stories are even outsourced by the company.
I love supernatural demon related stuff a lot and I also love how they mixed it with jp historical stuff. That too, a historical period which is rarely talked about. The Heian period. It's too sad that in the future, they might not make historical related stories ever again?
Also I hope that cybird's next game is not idol related. I don't really like Idol-related games because it's just not my vibe. Let's just hope that their next game is something like 'Ikemen Mafia' or 'Ikemen Demons' or 'Ikemen Gods' who knows....or maybe they could create a spin off games in the same universe as the main games. I don't know...I'm just going to really miss Genjiden. I wish I could turn back time and encourage people to play the game when it came out.
