🥀 ASCENDANT/RISING/1ST HOUSE

The 1st house or ascendant/rising sign in the Lilith persona chart shows how attractive or seductive you are in a way that is dark or the opposite of the way people see you as "attractive" in a venus persona chart. Basically, the femme fatale aesthetic or dark femininity, you know. Could also help explain someone's reputation and career in some ways. It also shows how we appear to be when faced with an obsession, when jealous, etc. (I suck at basic explanations, I'm sorry).

Fire Risings:

When faced with an obsession, they tend to complain about how this obsession is ruining their life. And while that may be true, they still find themselves coming back, holding on, and having a hard time letting go of this obsession. They become giddy and happy with this obsession, and just as quickly, they feel that terrible feeling of cringe come in. It's almost like a never-ending cycle or loop.

Same with the feeling of jealousy, they say they don't really care but then they complain to someone who is close to them, and then after that, they feel appalled that they're affected this much and die from embarrassment, and then moments later, come back to complain.

These people exude fiery sensuality and confidence. Even if they appear to be introverted, that certain aura or vibe about them can't be shaken off. Can be sexualized for this reason. These are the kinds of people who are assumed to be hiding "something" under all that shyness. And most of the time, their whole reputation, image and career revolves around sensuality.

These are the people who became famous for being confident and sexy; people who played in an erotic movie and that's what catapulted their career, people who made songs about sensual stuff, etc. They are the people who are not ashamed of their sensuality, are confident about it, and don't really mind that they're well-known because of that. Or if they are, they're good at hiding it because there are a lot of benefits to gain from it.

Dakota Johnson has an Aries rising in her Lilith persona chart. Lana Del Rey, Monica Bellucci, Bella Hadid, Cindy Crawford all have Leo rising. Marilyn Monroe and Catherine Zeta-Jones both have Sagittarius rising.

I noticed that almost all the female celebs' Lilith persona charts I looked into have really prominent pluto aspects (if not pluto, mars). Especially those who are heavily sexualized, those who might've starred a lot in dark-ish movies or were just known for dark stuff- they have pluto aspecting the asc/mc and/or the personal planets. And/or it's in the 1st house or 10th house or influencing the planets in those houses.

Winona Ryder:

Mars conjunct Pluto. Pluto trine ascendant and mc. Mars trine mc.

Vanessa Paradis:

Pluto sextile sun and midheaven.

Isabelle Adjani:

Pluto conjunct moon (+jupiter) and sextile mars.

Pamela Anderson:

Pluto conjunct moon. Mars trine moon.

Eva Green:

Mars square venus. Pluto is in the 1st house.

Lana Del Rey:

Pluto opposite sun and square ascendant. Mars square midheaven.

Liv Tyler:

Pluto square venus and trine the sun which is in the 1st house.

And many more.

These people just have that magnetic, dark, seductive presence and appearance. The effect is almost like having prominent scorpio, mars, pluto, aries and Lilith in the natal chart. And if they do have those prominent in their natal as well then oh wow.

While not as celebratory as October (MY B-DAY MONTH!) and not yet as festive as December, November is a month that’s always full of promises to me. It’s the month when I usually swear to myself I'll get everything done, so I can try to relax when it's Christmas time. While my productivity levels aren't as consistent as I'd like them to be, my will to be productive certainly is. I'm definitely a list kind of girl, loving making them just as much as I enjoy reading them in magazines and on archive blogs from the 2010s (classygirlswearpearls and rookie magazine, I’m looking at you guys). So what better way to start the month and try to get myself together than by writing a big ole' list? My November Guideline:

To be inspired

On TV: Spencer Hastings, Blair Waldorf, Tanner Hall

I may have only watched a season and a half of Pretty Little Liars, but that absolutely doesn't stop me from loving and pinning essentially every single outfit ever worn by Spencer Hastings on television, EVER. I love the way it's simultaneously classic and dated. I've never been one to fear a dated style or outfits that might one day make me sigh and go, "Oh my God, that was so ten years ago for me." I guess that's my way of contributing to history and experimenting with the millions of inspirations I'm constantly bombarded with via social media. I specifically love this aspect of her style, how she wears what she wants, what she loves, but always communicates a deep appreciation for a more traditional way of dressing. 

A lot of the same things can be said about Blair. Again, a character from a TV series I haven't watched all the way through (I can't make it past the first few episodes of season 3, sorry!), who was a pillar of preppiness back in the day, and is still wildly beloved, despite having committed a few fashion faux pas in my opinion. The craziness of it all and even the grandma-ness of it all actually fascinate me about Blair's wardrobe. How she constantly projects a vision of who she needs to be. Spencer does the same, obviously, but with Blair, it's almost like she viewed every day of her life, every problem she needed to face, as a new plotline of an old movie that needed to unravel. For each plotline, she reacted as a different heroine would, and each heroine, naturally, expressed herself differently through fashion. I just love these characters she creates for herself, and I feel like I often have the same instinct to curate an outfit like that when getting ready.

Tanner Hall, directed by Diane von Fürstenberg's daughter, Tatiana, is in the same aesthetic line as the previous mentions. The movie is set in a quintessential New England boarding school, where beiges, browns, and muted greens seem to be the only existent colors. The whole wardrobe is gorgeous, designed by DVF, and the holy grail for all those who are obsessed with an old-time preppiness. While the movie's plot may be flawed, its attempt to portray the delicious whimsy and melancholy of a girlhood that tries to expand inside the claustrophobic gates of the school is genuine and comes from what, to me, is a mixture of personal history and folklorized memories. I really like the softness of it all; you can almost smell the crisp apple scent through the screen.

On the web: 2010s Emma Watson, Silly Lettuce, Eva Meloche 

I can't really explain my current fixation on Emma Watson, but I have the feeling it has something to do with the fact I've been looping her Burberry campaigns practically every day. The songs are so reminiscent of a carefree city life, going on long taxi drives in the rain and putting your hands over the steam of your coffee on a cold day in the park with your friend, wet fall leaves on the cement sidewalk. I used to admire Emma Watson a lot when I was younger, and it's nice to rediscover this fondness for her. And let's be honest, she is definitely one of the founders of the gamine community; all I have, I owe to her!

Now, my current admiration for @silly_lettuce on Instagram is totally aesthetic, and I'm not afraid to say it. Gorgeous girl, gorgeous outfits, what's not to love. I could go on and on about her style in general, the silhouettes she wears, the boots, the knee-high socks, but instead, I'll just urge you to check out her page! So timeless, yet so young, fun, fresh, and COOL!!!! 

Eva Meloche is a YouTuber I've been watching for as long as I can remember, and not only do I adore the calm energy all of her videos exude, but I also really love her travel stories and spot recommendations in general, which always come in handy. Oh, and, of course, she has impeccable taste. Even though her style is different from mine, I guess I use her content as a way to explore.

To wear 

I think it's totally healthy to have an everlasting lust for new clothes and new products. Maybe it's because the holiday energy is already lingering in the air, or maybe it's because I'm fresh out of a father and daughter trip to Paris, but recently, I've been loving to revisit my old favorites. And by old, I mean back-when-I-was-twelve old, which includes:

Red Valentino patterned A-line dresses

Ok, I know they may be a bit too young, but if you get it, you get it, I guess. With some ballerinas or Mary Jane pumps, a cute overcoat, and a nice pair of sunglasses, you'll look positively '60s. Honestly, any A-line dress works, but RED V makes me remember my trips with my grandparents and going shopping with them.

The Cardi-blazer 

So basic, I know, but I cannot stop thinking about the Ba&Sh Gaspard cardigan and Guspard blazer. I just love how it elevates a basic outfit. With a pair of jeans and a trench coat over it, it has infinite potential. I can definitely see myself wearing it to a lunch with friends, for some afternoon shopping, or just for a coffee run. I love the Ba&Sh cardi-blazers, specifically because of how cool they look without ever being an "in-your-face" type of item. The buttons are nice and discreet, and the style is put together but not excessively frumpy.

Flap Brogue

Maybe it's the Miu Miu enthusiast in me, but ever since they released the new collection of shoes with Church's (my dad's fave), I've been loving all outfits that include a pair of brogues. I already had a pair of light brown oxfords (which are my one true love), but I really wanted something in black and thought that a pair of flap brogues would be a nice addition. They're perfect to wear with sheer hosiery, a mini jean skirt, and a cozy black sweater to tie it all together.

Statement sweater

Talking about sweaters... I just have so many cool statement ones living in my brain recently; it's a bit concerning. What's better than wearing a huge sweater that screams "look at me" when going out with friends or having a nice dinner party? I've been specifically lusting over two models: the Kritzia glittery, oversized turtlenecks with animal motifs and the Zadig and Voltaire Alma "rock and roll" red one.

Statement everyday shoes 

It's so 2016 to talk about Golden Gooses, but... I just love them. I happened to buy them after quite a bit of time resisting after I found myself with soaked ballerinas after a violent rainstorm, soon-to-be late to my lunch reservation. The Golden Goose store was my knight in shining armor, literally, offering me shelter and shoes. And maybe it was the desperation, maybe it was the pink sparkly star, but all I know was that I left that store in a glittery haze, enamored by the sneakers I'd just impulsively bought. No regrets!

1.Stephen Black (Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell)

Incredibly well written and compelling (Mrs Clarke, teach me your secrets) in the book, and great acting by Aryion Bakare in the show. Probably one of my favourite male characters ever.

2.Lucrezia Borgia (Borgia: faith and fear)

I loved her character's arc through the 3 seasons. It really showcases the thing I love most about this serie, despite its flaws (and some are big flaws) - it never shied away from complexity. All characters are shown as capable of great tenderness and great cruelty - and this is one of the reasons why I think that they really captured the spirit of the renaissance.

3.James Flint (Black Sails)

"I was unjustly branded as a monster in the eyes of the so-called civilized society, so I'm going to destroy it" - what's not to love? And yes, of course I'm obsessed with the "freedom in the darkness" speech, of course.

4.Justice (Dragon Age)

"A world so full of beauty that beauty goes overlooked. I must see it with different eyes."

I couldn't find a gif, ops! Put my favourite quote instead. Initially I was really torn between Merrill and Anders and other five characters, but I'm in an AwakeningTM mood so I've picked my favourite rotting corpse.

5.Mr Nancy / Anansi (American Gods)

6.Jacquette/Jacquetta Woodville (The White Queen)

"We are all on fortune's wheel," I say. "Without a doubt we will rise. We may fall. But still I have no fear of it.”

Look at that Burgundy-inspired fashion!! The witchcraft and prophecies and definitely less accurate, but eh- that's still my thing. Also, a novel about her story (The Lady of Rivers) is the only book by Philippa Gregory that I didn't dislike, and that's truly something.

7.Uinen - Silmarillion

I have a soft spot for sea-themed mythology, so I obviously loved that section of the Silmarillion.

8.Hastur (Good Omens)

#team-Hell, because I like the demons' character design. Also, for some reason Ned Dennehy follows me on Instagram, so I feel like he deserves a mention.

9.Thomas Cromwell (Wolf Hall)

I have developed a love/hate relationship with this book&show - but Mantel's prose is stunning.

"It is wise to conceal the past even if there is nothing to conceal. A man's power is in the half-light, in the half-seen movements of his hand and the unguessed-at expression of his face. It is the absence of facts that frightens people: the gap you open, into which they pour their fears, fantasies, desires."

Do you see this? Annoyingly good.

10.Morgan le Fay - Camelot

I feel like this show had a lot of potential that it never got to fully express, and Eva Green as Morgana? Inspired casting, 10/10.

🌈 is there a fic that you worked *really fucking hard on* that no one would ever know? maybe a scene/theme you struggled with?

I struggled the entire time trying to get through Ghosts That We Knew, the conclusion to the Picture Perfect series. I honestly hadn't planned to write a whole ass trilogy. Dark Side was the only one I had an idea for, and then halfway through, people wanted more. So I started planning the sequel, Come Back to Me. I'm not a fan of duologies. Trilogies just make more sense. So I started thinking up plots for the third entry. Where could Tony and Loki go after marrying and having two kids (one through a relationship, the other through a surrogate)? What kind of problems would they face? I had no idea, lol. I knew I wanted to insert another kid (Audrey Maria or "Audi"), but I also wanted to show that after 8 years and 3 kids, even the most in-love couples have bad times. I'd gotten about halfway through and just blanked on where to go. It didn't help I was having outside issues -- my RP partner (whom I was in love with) and I were having issues, I was stressing about school, and my dad was having health problems at the time. Oh, and I was struggling to RP too. But I was able to pull something out in the end. And everyone seemed to enjoy it. 😁

Umm....I'm not sure what "celebrate" means?? I might give myself a mental high five? Say yay? LOL

🤍what’s one fic of yours you think people didn’t “get”?

It's not a fic that's completed, nor is it posted on AO3 anymore, but it's Fools Rush In. It was Frostiron set in the Matthew Perry/Salma Hayek movie. First time I was writing fem!Loki and even tho I only published like 4 or 5 chapters, I got complaints that Loki was "too feminist" and "obsessed with her dad's [Odin's] opinions about what a woman her age should be doing." To be clear, Loki was a 28yo grad student who'd been adopted by the Odinsons as a baby and at 13, chose to search for her birth parents who were teenagers when she was born. She was the youngest in the Odinson clan (Thor and Baldur being older) and the oldest in the Laufeyson family (Helblindi and Býleistr were much younger). And the only girl. So Odin certainly had a lot of opinions about her needing to be settled and married, not living with her bestie (Natasha) in an apartment in a big city.

This isn't the reason the fic is incomplete, tho! I removed it, along with four other fics, from AO3 and ff.net bc I'd reached a block on all of them and I felt bad just letting them sit there unfinished. I do hope to complete them someday. But we'll see. Here's a banner I made for it, when I still thought Olivia Wilde was a good choice for fem!Loki. I do not anymore.

This is a part of the Hotline: Miami soundtrack which I listen to all the time. I also made it a part of an AU I'm writing for The Beatles with similar themes to the game. Lots of blood and guts and sex ahead!

Currently Watching: Nothing. I do need to watch "Strange Angels" for research (and I promised @backbenttulips I would). I don't really "watch" shows anymore. I do watch SeanieDew and BlaDe on Youtube but I mainly use their videos to sleep so I'm not really paying attention to anything they're saying.

I did watch "Slow Horses" back when Apple TV was having a free trial and enjoyed it a lot but that was a while ago now. I also watched "Liaison" with Vincent Cassel and Eva Green and it was super good, I really loved it!

Currently Obsessed With: The Beatles really. All my friends are here and I relate everything back to them rofl. My playlists are officially out of control.

I've been trying to contribute more to the fandom lately but I caught Covid in January (I'm convinced that's what it is anyway) and now I have a sinus infection I picked up from work. Been coughing a lot and feeling extremely down. That being said I'm starting a new medication and hoping that will work out.

I. favourite colours: black, blue and silver used to be it, but these days I'm more over shades of green, purple and more colorful stuff in general? I think turquoise is my current favorite.

II. favourite flavours: warm spices! I love cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves. I also really enjoy paprika on the savory side of things, which made living in the Netherlands easier for me, haha.

III. favourite genres: pretty open question here - but I really enjoy sci-fi and fantasy for mostly everything (videogames, movies, books, shows) while my music style is mostly rock-based but with so many crazy pop varieties.

IV. favourite music: my favorite bands are all Japanese (GLAY, LUNA SEA and BUCK-TICK are my top 3, and I'm still processing the loss of Sakurai Atsushi, really). X. currently reading: nothing that is not work-related, I really should pick up this hobby again as I used to.

XI. currently watching: I am currently obsessed over 'Beef' - I started it because of Ali Wong but damn. Daaaaamn. This show is like an incredibly well-directed trainwreck and I'm hooked, not gonna lie.

XII. currently working on: new routines, mostly exercising! I really want to be healthier in this next year.

1. Monster - both the anime and manga wrecked me. destroyed me. husked me out into nothing but a hollow thing of a person. i could go on for fucking YEARS as to why this is the best anime of all time, but let me just sum it up by saying i’ve never experienced a more well thought out plot, a more well developed cast of characters, or a more well developed world in my whole fucking life and i will go to the grave believing that. also i’m full on in love with eva, she is my everything, my sun, my moon, the light in my life etc 💖💖💖✌️😔

2. Okay this is kind of cheating because it’s the franchise i love and not one anime in particular BUT Lupin The Third - my twin and i both fucking love the Lupin franchise. one of the old series, i think green jacket??? aired on tv when we were younger and we were fucking HOOKED. i’ve subsequently gone through most of the movies (my favourites being harimao’s treasure, twilight gemini, ans the secret of mamo). Also fucking LOVED the newer series The Woman Called Fujiko Mine (fujiko, my love, what a fucking great character ✌️😩).

3. This is for nostalgia’s sake so it’s a tie between Azumanga Daioh and Hamtaro - both of these anime series were huge for me as a kid (as well as sailor moon and naruto) but these two really meant a lot to me. Azumanga Daioh became like a comfort series that i’d rewatch a lot, especially in the summer. and fun fact! it’s the only series where i prefer the english dub. and jo as you know hamtaro was a feral obsession for me. those hamsters got into my brain and never left. my childhood bestfriend (whom i’m no longer friends with) my sibling and myself would draw those hamsters 25/7. i also loved the games (hamtaro hamham heartbreak is still one of the best games ever no one can fucking convince me otherwise)

4. Ookiku Furikabutte (or as I affectionately call it fruity booty) - time to out myself as sports anime trash :))). this (and One Outs) is probably my all time favourite sports anime. i don’t even know how to explain it fr, i never thought i’s be a sports anime person. also the characters dynamics are tropey as hell, like so typical animu, but i love them so much anyways??? and it’s so gay??? mihashi is a precious babygirl and i need to protect him with my whole body.

5. I’m cheating again but these all kind of have the same vibes so i can’t distinguish between them so Neon Genesis Evangelion (the original series)/Serial Experiments Lain/Alien Nine - okay so i hated Eva the first time i tried to watch it, but then when it was put on netflix i decided to watch it again and loved it??? similarly i tried i think 3 times to watch Serial Experiments Lain and finally finished it last year?? Alien Nine is also technically a series of ova’s, but that shit is so bizarre i fucking love it. anyways these are all perfect examples of the weird side of anime i like where it’s a little psychological horror, a little existential dread, and a little bit of mystery action. also unironically i fucking love the openings for Eva and Serial Experiments Lain, they slap so fucking hard dude
