s5 ep8 Shot in the dark

woohooo

Off topic but while looking for fan art of Catra from the portal (ugh I need to try different tags) I instead saw a bunch of anti-Catra and anti-Catradora and anti-spop blogs and jfc people need to get a life and touch some grass and if I'm saying that--

(I mean, I did leave the house today with Saer and their mom, we went to Powell's books where I spent too much money but I got a couple of wlw manga and a Judith Butler book among a few other things, and also we went to a vintage clothing store that seemed to have NO END but I bought one thing there, a lavender satin bathrobe, the short kind; the only thing wrong with it was that it's a bit faded in some places and it's a little small on me but it's a bathrobe, and it was like $26 AND 100% SILK)

a question many astronauts have surely asked as well!

these two squabbling but not actually fighting always sounds like flirting, it doesn't help that a split second after that screenshot, Catra actually smiles for a second

oh man they really did start changing this up every episode. Look at poor Perfuma's face.

Anyway on Krytis they find an old Horde ship and everyone else is trying to figure out what happened but poor Catra is remembering what it was like to be chipped :(

there's a cute moment when she notices her tail is all fluffy from fear and smooths it out before joining the others

there's a "crack" video where Entrapta's little walk here is dubbed with a clip from an ancient Spiderman show's theme song

POOR CATRA

Adora laughs longer than anyone else after Catra gets the helmet off and Catra blushes and smiles and everyone stands around not wanting the ruin the moment--and then Entrapta finds something and squeals and startles the shit out of everyone and it's SO GREAT

Catra: "So, wait, the plan is to barge ahead into the structurally unsound building to find some mystery person that we know nothing about, in hopes that they somehow know how to defeat Horde Prime?"

Bow: "You know, we were just gonna recklessly blast our way through that blockade until you stopped us. So this whole thing is basically your idea."

Catra's starting to realize what DORKS they all are and that good-natured teasing is just part of the deal

Back on Krytis Wrong Hordak is having an existential crisis as he realizes Horde Prime is not perfect

Anyway a second later, Catra leans on the wall and sinks into it, she shrieks and Adora yells "CATRA!!" and when they pull her out the wall starts sending out HUGE MURDER SPIKES

Back on Etheria:

Castaspella: "You said you had a plan. The only reason I'm following you is because if anyone would know about mind control, it's you." Shadow Weaver: "Mind control? Is that what they told you? No. My gifts were always far subtler."

I dunno, I think torturing kids is hardly "subtle." But abuse is often hard to spot while it's happening to you.

Okay in fairness she says she was less powerful as well and now he's chipped he's under control by the enemy and they're not strong enough to fight him

On Krytis, the Squad realizes they've gotten confused/turned around in the abandoned ship--"Isn't this where we started?!" There's a growling noise. The hallway somehow gets longer while they're walking in it. Creepy as fuck.

Oh and also it turns out Horde Prime and the First Ones fought over Krytis ages ago and Prime won but then abandoned the place anyway.

yes! thanks to some generous friends, i got to go to PTD LA nights 1, 3 & 4! for 3 & 4, a gaggle of gals slept in my home (i even gave them my bed) so them scoring me a ticket definitely came with the guarantee of somewhere for them to sleep. 🥰🥰🥰 here are two of the first pics i found in my camera roll that looked cute enough to share:

14. Funny moments that always make you laugh?

i answered this questions here too, but after some thought, the first thing that really made me laugh like i was dying was the run bts episode where jungkook made the sweet potatoes that stuck to the plate. he was my bias at the time too, and i was smitten by how fucking cute and silly he was. still makes me laugh all these (2 lol) years later. when jin got hit in the nuts with the air hockey puck. when suga unplugged the tv while jin was playing. they're pure chaos without even trying and i love them very much.

25. Do you read fanfics? If yes can you recommend one?

i read a lot of fanfics! i just finished reading Stars Lost in the Sea by smiles and WOW THE ANGST i cried so much lmao, like so, so much. really great story. yoonjin, time travel, yearning. it was so good!

32. ______ (member) dream you had?

thinking about this makes me realize that recently jungkook was in a dream, but the plot is completely lost to me, and honestly, i'm a bit sad. i dream about them often. once i had a dream a very naked namjoon was beneath me (i was straddling his waist, p sure i clothes on lmao) and he was saying "show me how you fuck yoongi oppa" and then i woke up and had A LOT OF REGRETS!!!! (and if i put a similar scene in collateral 11 that's my own business.) (also, i'm older than yoongi and wouldn't call him oppa, but...my subconsciousness went for it.) my dreams aren't always sexual, though! sometimes we're just in come chaotic dream world doing chaotic things. but they are sexy occassionally. 😈

38. Your BTS guilty pleasure?

no, i am unabashedly am army lol. although many armys are embarrassing as hell and i steer clear of the drama and don't associate with them lmao. i think a guilty pleasure is something you like despite it not being popular, or despite people thinking it's not a good thing to like? and i don't think bts can even fit into that classification bc their fanbase is fucking huge. and they seem to genuinely be good people. but ig haters will say it's photoshop idk.

43. Favorite BT21 character?

honestly, shooky. I KNOW YOONGI IS MY BIAS but i don't like them bc of that lol i like them bc they're super cute and a vibe. they're a grumpy cookie and like............gosh, big fucking mood. i love them all tho, 10/10 very cute cuties. i dont even really collect plushies and i have 7 shookys lmao. and 1 rj.

44. BTS Merch you own or some you want to own?

i own a fair share. i have most cds, some dvds, some seasons greetings/winter packages. enamel pins, the coveted whale plushie, yoongi's necklace, joon's windchime, tae's enamel pins...a lot of washi tapes lol. the me, myself & i photobooks (thanks to one very generous beta reader.) 🥺

there's nothing i really want right now, tbh. i wasn't a collector before, so it's still kinda weird to me to want material possessions; i have been trying, more recently, to only get things i can wear or actually use bc i am a very broke college student, once again lol. i finally got the recipe book, and i'm really excited to use it!

51. If BTS were not Idols what job YOU believe they will choose?

hmm, this is a tough question. i could really see namjoon and yoongi as professors of some sort, or as therapists. jungkook would probably be a veterinarian. taehyung would own a very prestigious daycare center. hoseok and jimin would still be in the dance scene, somehow. seokjin would be a retired actor.

i could also see all 7 of them being twitch streamers or youtubers. seokjin and jungkook would play games. namjoon and yoongi would be philosophical. taehyung's channel would be chaotic with no theme. hoseok would model his latest clothing hauls and jimin would be a self-taught makeup artist.

I'm not quite on a break! I still have another summer class I'm taking, but it's not as condensed so im not working on it every day thankfully!! My exams went well too! I got an a in the class 🥰 I've been doing well on the exams for the other class too even tho they are notorious for being super hard so 🙏��🙏🏻

We just finished the episode where the performance unit came so it's funny you mention that!! When I first watched iland I didn't Stan seventeen but now that I do it was even more fun~ I'm really glad the iland boys won't have to compete again either 😭 the mentor groups would actually be so cool 👀👀👀 that's a really cool idea!! I loved K as a leader in iland omg imagine him teaching the babies 😭😭 and the video they just released of the signal song?? He looked like a mom leading his children I almost cried 😭😭 also like I got way more emotional than I was expecting when I saw Nicholas like!! I was really upset when he didn't make the top 12 🥲 I'm really excited to see him and EJ again 🥺 it feels like it's been forever for those 2.

And OMG THE TEASER PICS!!! 🤩 Jake looks so good I might collapse.. His hair color is soooo amazing 🤩 and Sunghoon with the kogner hair... 😳 Also honestly jusr blonde Sunghoon>>> still not over his blessed cursed look oml the eyebrow piercing?? aww Maddie's home 🥺 Buckley siblings reunited 🥺🥺🥺 Buck's smile 🥺🥺🥺 I'm gonna cry lol

Eddie!! I'm so excited for his story this season haha

I'm so glad he's talking to Frank and getting some help

I really like Taylor and I really wouldn't mind them moving in together if it wasn't for the fact that Buck hasn't told her about the kiss, and asked her move in instead. like, it was just a kiss, not a big deal, but the lie here is a big deal and it's sooo gonna blow up (I'm still lowkey hoping for buddie even tho it probably won't happen so I'm not mad lol)

Buck is being so weird about Lucy, like, buddy, you're not being subtle AT ALL, the lie is going to come out lmao (also, jesus, it was just a kiss, by lying about it he's making it seem like a much bigger thing than it actually was)

it's so funny to watch him so freaked out, but also I feel so bad for Taylor because it's so shitty towards her

this scene in the firehouse is making me want fish (that sushi looked so good), but it's late and I just had sushi the other day, I'm a broke college student I can't treat myself like that very often lol

please, Maddie, talk some sense into this dumbass please 😂

damn, the whole episode was so good, but that ending... wow I can't even-

loved to see Maddie again, and at the end when she was laughing with Jee 🥺🥺 I missed her (and Chim too)

I'm glad Buck and Taylor are working things out

and Eddie - my heart 💔😭 that was such a heartbreaking scene, and Chris was so scared, and the talk with Buck later - I loved it all so much, and what a scene to end the episode on 😭 I seriously can't wait for the next one, and I feel like Eddie's story is my fave this season
