me own shop will be selfship galore TBH. me n my friend got this idea to open a shop on etsy that offers personalized character experiences which will be writing comms, letter packages (eventually), and my FAVE "text ur fave character" through discord or whatsapp which is a weekly to monthly thing where your fave chara texts u daily, makes u a playlist, sends u cute pics throughout the day, etc. ppl will even get a little date drabble to take w them :') i'll make sure to post a boost here so u can read up on it. it's gna be so much fun hehehe

I've been reading Exodus lately and I've just gotten to the portions where God gives the first commands to the people via Moses (twice), and then goes on to give detailed instructions about the tabernacle and how it should be built, and I'm just... we think art is unimportant?? we think things only mean as much as their functionality?? we so easily fall into the trap of believing that beauty means nothing, that it's cheap and only worth whatever mindless distraction it brings, that it's barely more than a cheap sensual thrill, that buildings should just be practical and plain and cheap, that everything should be functional but ultimately disposable, that paintings and dresses and mugs and curtains and carpets are just pretty but have no real value, that beauty is fleeting and vain and therefore shouldn't be thought about too much, if even looked for at all... we fall into these traps so easily, and we forget that there are chapters upon chapters of painstakingly detailed plans to build one portable worship tent, and those plans have been handed down through thousands of years of human history, because beauty and art and skill in craft is important

#I have to go get ready for work now but I will come back to this #and don't even get me started on the parts about God calling specific craftsmen *by name* #he called them!! by name!!! he said 'this man is good at his job. he creates beautiful work. he will build my temple and make it beautiful' #and even more--God inspired him!!!! it was a calling of GOD for him to create beautiful carvings and tapestries and candlesticks!!! #look even if you're not jewish or christian or religious at all you have GOT to see what it means that all these incredibly detailed plans #for building this tent-temple are extremely important #because even if you don't believe in God and don't think that this is all significant bc he personally gave the instructions #and then helped preserve this record of them so we could still read them today #you do have to see how important they were to the people of that time who first wrote them down #and the extreme care that was taken to record all of those detail #AND the fact that it's been preserved for so long and we can still read all the care that was put into creating this incredible piece #of artwork and worship they made #gurt says stuff #I just. gahhfhhfj. Shading study that quite literally came to me in a dream two weeks ago, after this post apparently beamed itself into my mind

alright. know what? with Secrets of the Obscure right around the corner and plenty of new Mists-related sky island settings coming with it, I'll just bite the bullet and interest-check a little something I've been turning in my head for a long, long while.

would YOU be interested in a Mists-based GW2 roleplay guild that uses a lore compliant multiverse system to allow canon, canon-adjacent, lore-breaking, and otherwise 'contradictory' muses to coexist in the same setting?

simply put: every writer's cast would be set in their own self-contained universe. as such, everyone could bring whatever muses they want with their own personal headcanons, and no one could dictate what is or isn't canon for anyone else. so long as your muses are GW2-based, you're good to go! bring your Commanders, bring your canon-divergent OCs, bring your canon muses-- and yes, even the ones that are 'supposed' to be dead. who can say what might have happened in a strange world far across the Mists, after all?

neutral hubs and in-character safety guardrails would be in place to keep all muses on a relatively even playing field regardless of their power, history, and prestige, too. play hardball if you like, but it might not end quite the way you'd hope. the main rule would be to maintain good OOC etiquette at all times: no godmodding, no metagaming, no theft, don't blend IC and OOC, and so-on.

Thinking about how most of the time when you have the option to stay quiet during a companion quest you get approval for letting them handle it and sometimes even get disaproval for talking over them

And then with Shadowheart's quest speaking up with Viconia not only gives a +5(while *keep silent* gives nothing) but also if you don't do that she will look genuinely scared when Viconia asks you to hand her over

#girl just wants someone to love her and stand up for her😭 #I've been choosing to stay silent for all my pt's since I'm so used to letting the companions handle their own quests #so I always get the scared look at Viconia's offer #which is heartbreaking but makes perfect sense #she's spent most of her life being used and abused by her caretakers whose love was so desperate for #of course when confronted with that trauma she's gonna have a moment of doubt in regards to the person she loves now #but turns out just standing up for her beforehand cuts that panic short! #anyway I just think it's a very interesting character detail that having someone vocally have her back #is more important than leading the confrontation herself #bg3 #shadowheart #also not to get overly self-indulgent #but you know that one poem about how to the author being butch means this feeling of chivalry towards other girls? #that feeling is part of why this romance works so well for me #Shadowheart isn't weak and she is the hero of her own story #but you do kinda get to be her knight in shining armor so to speak you know? #larian did a great job of balancing that with still making sure she has enough agency and stands on her own #and without ever making it feel like the romance is mainly geared towards men #I appreciate that
