Most of you, I'm sure haven't noticed my absence, nor missed me; but I wanted to post this for those who may have been curious about my whereabouts.
Life as a full time Pharmacy Tech and part time "caregiver" to my mother has become even more hectic, emotional, and beyond an uncontrolled rollercoaster than the norm. Some positives, some not so positives. On July 19th I started a new lifestyle on Weight Watchers. Thankfully THAT is going well; almost 20lbs down and feeling SO much better. Few weeks ago my mom became "sick." I use quotes because honestly, we aren't sure what the "illness" was. *queasy stomachs stop reading here* She had nausea/vomiting/diarrhea on and off for days. She tried hiding it from me but I could tell she was becoming dehydrated. Even water would come back up; even just a sip! My mother is extremely stubborn and kept refusing to make a trip to the doctor. Plus the nausea/vomiting/diarrhea was so sporadic and unpredictable that we couldn't be sure what was causing it.
After 3 days in a row of dry heaves/nausea and then a day of 4 bouts diarrhea, she agreed she needed to go to the doctor. She actually asked me to take off work to go with her and my oldest sister to the doctor's appointment! You have to understand my mother NEVER wants me to take days off from work. (That's a whole other story...) Of course I took the day off and off to the doctor we go.
She was extremely weak so there was no way only one of us could have taken her anyway. Dr. H said he had seen several patients like this so he didn't seem surprised or overly concerned. P.S. not Covid. Said we had 2 options: overnight hospital stay (to which we emphatically declined!!) OR go to the outpatient clinic for iv fluids then home to rest and continue drinking as much as she would. We chose the 2nd option.
Mom was given a little over a bag of iv fluids and prescriptions for Zofran and lomotil when needed for the nausea and diarrhea. She ate mostly rice and toast with water, sprite and pepsi anytime she wanted. She slept almost 18 hours a day for days. She continued to be weak but managed to go to the bathroom on her own and was able to make it from her recliner to the fridge for something to drink.
Have I mentioned this was NOT covid?? It wasn't.
A week after the doctor's visit her weakness continued but she seemed better in some respects. She no doubt was afraid to eat or eat much but she did try. Slowly we added more solid foods; eggs, applesauce, peaches, grits, oatmeal, etc. At the end of the week, on Sunday morning she woke up with a really good appetite so she agreed to try a protein shake... MISTAKE! Within 10mins she threw it up. Quickly gave her Zofran then after an episode of diarrhea, she took lomotil. No more food until around midday; toast. Dry toast and sprite. Since she kept that down for more than 30mins she tried rice; that stayed down so we decided rice and toast for a few more days.
A few days later she requested some "real" food so we tried mashed potatoes. Then slowly added a few other things until we were sure everything was going to settle. As of this past week she's eating more normally, just much smaller portions. And with my encouragement (or begging & insisting) she's drinking more water. She's still weak but not nearly as bad. Thursday and Friday were the best days in weeks!! Yesterday she felt very strong so she washed dishes and moved around more but, of course, she did TOO much and was wiped out the rest of the day. She only ate breakfast and supper because she slept from 10am until 5pm. I mean, she got up for trips to the bathroom & to have a sip or two of water but that was it.
All this has been beyond draining for me; on top of being her caregiver and work frustration, I had the responsibility & stress of communicating daily with my 4 older sisters to update them (at least 3 times a day) on our mother's health and eating habits. It was exhausting!! Especially when one would question why I didn't do this or try that. Two were insisting mom go back to the doctor; believe me, I understood their desire for it, but have I mentioned how stubborn our mother is???? She refused. I respected her wishes. After all, I'm the one who lives with her; I am the one who bears the brunt of her anger and frustration... I wasn't pushing her to do anything she didn't want to; other than drinking and eating. There was an angry text exchange between one of my sisters and me one night. I was already in a bad headspace and her texts did not help. I'm still not over it but I just let it go and held my tongue. Wouldn't have been worth it to unload on her.
My point of all this? I've missed Tumblr. I've missed the breathtaking photos of landscapes, the beautiful floral posts and the funny posts about life and love. I know I almost always queue my posts but I've still missed being online. My goal this week is to make more time for ME and come back, even for short time frames, to Tumblr. May also use Tumblr for journaling or personal posts more than I usually do... I will understand if people begin to unfollow.
Hope everyone has been well and safe and happy! Sending love.... 💜

I genuinely think my uncle and auntie are worrying about me. I haven't been eating, drinking or sleeping properly at all for the past 3 days since the argument with my ex. I've felt like I'm barely breathing for a lot of the time, it's been making me sick to the stomach. I was already not eating properly after him and I broke up and now it's just gotten worse. I also hate that- not even 24 hours later, my cousin and her boyfriend showed up (they always make shit awkward by LITERALLY making out in front of my family and the kids). I can't take it. Not even a day later, I'm made to feel jealous and reminded of my own failed relationship, it just- drags me down so much. I'll be here all day if anyone wants to roleplay, it's one of the few things stopping me from losing my shit at everyone. I just wanna curl up into a ball and push the world away at this point, hence why I've been isolating myself. I want them to fuck off and I want to be able to feel comfortable in my own home. I don't want to feel like I have to stay in my room ALL DAY because I'm uncomfortable around those two, but if I say anything my cousin will probably be all moody about it.
Sorry for getting so pissy here, I just- needed to vent my frustrations somewhere that isn't directly at someone (because I know a lot of my friends have shit going on rn and I don't want to bother them too much with my own issues). Feel free to ignore this post.

Han Solo is cooking
Part two of To My Sick Jedi series.
Tumblr media
Warning!!! kissing at the end!!!
Han is trying to be romantic with Leia, by cooking her dinner. But he isn't the best chef in the galaxy. Leia declines Han's dinner, which results in an argument. Han then gives the meal to Luke, who wanting to be a good friend, eats it. But it tasted off.
Chapter 1
Han Solo stood over to stove, waiting for the timer to go off. He'd decided to be romantic and cook something for Leia. He was now waiting for the meat to cook in the oven. Han was impatient, so he was contemplating just giving up, when the timer finally went off. The door suddenly opened, and Leia walked in, looking unimpressed and angry.
"What are you doing, Han?" She asked, glaring at him.
"I thought I would cook you something, your highness." Han answered, "Since you've had a long and hard day." "What are you saying?" Leia questioned, "Are you saying I can't cook for myself?"
Han sighed, "No, I'm not saying that at all. I just wanted to be romantic for once. Is there something wrong with that?"
"Yes, you're not romantic." Leia stated, "You're a scoundrel!"
"Fine!" Han yelled, angrily, "I'll give the food to someone else!"
Leia sighed in annoyance and ran out. A few seconds passed, before Luke walked in.
"What happened, Han?" Luke asked, "Leia seemed really angry when she left here."
"She is just being snappy." Han answered, "Nothing new."
"What are you doing?" Luke questioned walking towards Han.
"Well, I was making Leia some dinner." Han stated, "But she decided to have a tantrum, so now I cooked this for nothing."
"I'll have it." Luke answered, "If it cheers you up?"
Han smiled, "I'm not sad, Kid. Leia is just being Leia. But if you want it, don't let me stand in your way."
Han leaned down and pulled a metallic  tray out of the oven. He placed the tray on the counter and beckoned Luke to sit down.
"I'll go and check if Leia has calmed down."  He said, "You stay here and enjoy."
Han smiled and walked out. Luke picked up a knife and fork from off the counter and started eating. From the first bite, something about it tasted...Off.
Chapter 2
At about 12am, Luke awoke from a deep slumber, with a dull pain in his stomach. He tried to ignore it and go back to sleep, but the pain gradually got worse. As Luke stood up, a wave of dizziness caused him to fall to his knees. He then started violently coughing, feeling suddenly nauseous. Luke covered his mouth with his hands as he felt the contents of his stomach rising into his throat. He tried to swallow it down, but it just came back up.
Luke finally gave in and threw up his stomach contents onto the floor. He was now shaking and sweating profusely, the nauseous feeling getting worse. Luke looked up and saw a metal bin in the far corner of the room. He crawled over to it, just in time for another round of intense vomiting. After 10 minutes of back to back vomiting, Luke's stomach was empty. Having no energy left, he just curled up on the floor, groaning as the pain in his stomach didn't go away. He kept slipping in and out of consciousness, praying someone would find him.
Whatever was wrong with him, was getting worse. He now had a throbbing headache and couldn't stop shaking. He wanted to sleep, to escape the pain, but every time he closed his eyes another wave of nausea would hit, and he'd start gagging, unproductively.
Chapter 3
While Han was fixing a damaged part on his Millennium falcon, he was approached by Leia, who was giving him a disgusted look.
"Can I help you, your highness?" Han asked, sarcastically.
"I just came to ask you whether or not you've seen Luke this morning?" Leia answered, "He didn't show up for the pilot training."
"No, your highness. I haven't seen him." Han answered, "Maybe he forgot about it."
Leia shook her head, "No one has seen him all morning. I'm... a little worried."
"I'm sure the Kid is fine." Han assured, "Come on, let's go to his chambers and tell him he's late!"
Leia knew Han was trying to lighten the mood, but it wasn't working. She was worried about Luke; it wasn't like him to miss something like this. Leia followed Han as he headed towards Luke's chambers. On the way, Han bashed into, Commander Icy, who was doing her morning duties.
"Good Morning, captain Solo." Juniper said, politely.
"Morning Commander." Han answered, "My apologies for barging into you."
"You seem to be in a rush." Juniper said, "No apology needed."
Someone down the hallway called for Juniper, she said goodbye to Han and Leia and headed to whoever needed her. Han and Leia continued their journey to Luke's chambers. Han knocked in the door and called Luke's name, to no avail. Leia then tried, again to no avail. Han pressed the button to open the door and the room was still pitch black.
Han ran his hand over the wall, looking for the light switch. He clicked the light on and heard Leia  scream. Han looked back into the room. To see a patch of vomit on the floor and an unconscious Luke lying next to a vomit filled bucket.
"Luke?!" Leia screamed again, rushing to his side.
She pushed the vomit bucket away and tried to wake Luke up. She then placed her hand on his forehead, realising he was burning up.
"Go and get Juniper!" Leia demanded, "Now!"
Without a word, Han ran out the room. Leia grabbed the blanket off the bed and wrapped it around Luke, who had woken up and was now shaking. A few seconds later, Han returned with Juniper. Juniper ran to Luke's side, staring at his pale face.
"He has a fever." Leia said, "And he's been sick."
Juniper looked around, seeing the vomit patch and bucket. She looked back to Luke, who was groaning loudly.
"What hurts, Luke?" Juniper asked, gently placing her hand on his shoulder.
"Everything." Luke muttered, "My stomach hurts and my head is throbbing."
Juniper glanced over at Leia, "We need to get him to the medical wing."
"But no one will be there." Leia cried, "All the medical droids were taken away from reprograming."
"I know." Juniper said, "I'm the medical general, I'll take care of him."
"I'm fine..." Luke muttered, looking at Juniper.
"You are as far from fine as a person can get, Luke." Juniper said, "Can you walk?"
Luke slowly stood up, Juniper and Leia at his side. Which was lucky, because a few seconds after he stood, his legs went numb and he fell forward. Juniper and Leia were able to pick him up and sit him on the bed.
"I take that as a no, you can't walk." Juniper said, "I'll have to carry you."
Luke felt really embarrassed, he looked away shyly and sighed.
"Luke." Juniper said, noticing Luke's expression, "You're too sick to walk, the only way to get you to the medical wing is of I carry you. Don't be embarrassed, it's not the first time I've carried you."
Luke wanted to decline, but he knew she was right. He couldn't even stand. Luke finally gave in and agreed to being carried. Juniper picked Luke up in her arms and walked towards the door. Luke placed his head on Juniper's shoulder and shut his eyes, trying to escape the pain. Leia and Han stayed at Juniper's side as she began heading towards to the medical wing.
Juniper noticed Luke's face going paler, she tried her best to limit the vibrations.
"Please just hold on a little longer, Luke." Juniper said, looking down at Luke's ashen face.
Chapter 4
Once Juniper finally arrived at the medical wing, she placed Luke onto a bed and gave him a bucket in case he needed to vomit again.
"What do you think caused this?" Leia asked, as Juniper was preparing medication for Luke to take.
"I'm guessing food poisoning." Juniper answered.
"Oh no." Han said, looking over at Luke.
"What's wrong, Han?" Leia answered.
"Well the dinner I made for you Leia; I gave to Luke." Han answered, "Could that have caused this?" Juniper nodded, "Yes, that could definitely have caused this."
Han sighed and walked away. Leia watched as Juniper sucked a foggy liquid into a needle. Juniper then walked over to Luke, who was about to pass out. She gently tapped Luke's face, waking him up.
"Stay with me." Juniper said, looking into Luke's foggy eyes.
Juniper rolled Luke's sleeve up and gently injected the liquid into his veins. She then covered the pin prick with a small circular bandage. She then pointed over to the sink, where she had prepared a damp towel. She quickly grabbed it and gently placed it on Luke's forehead.
"Rest now." She said, "I'll be here if you need anything." Luke smiled weakly, before shutting his eyes and trying to sleep. Juniper then turned to Leia.
"Your highness, go back to doing your morning duties." She said, "I'll watch over him."
"Thank you, Juniper." Leia said, before walking out of the room.
Chapter 5
Juniper watched over Luke for that whole day and night. Before retreating to bed for a few hours, Juniper decided to talk to Luke for a little while. She sat on the edge of the bed and waited for him to awake. He actually jumped when he saw Juniper sitting there.
"I didn't mean to scare you." Juniper said smiling, "How are you feeling this morning?"
"Better." Luke answered, "What was wrong with me?"
"You had food poisoning." Juniper answered, "From the food Han made for you."
"I knew that tasted off." Luke said, "Thanks again, Juniper, for looking after me."
"You don't need to thank me." Juniper said, "I'm just glad you're feeling better."
Juniper placed her hand on Luke's forehead, "You're still a little warm. Just stay here for one more day, just to be safe." "If you say so." Luke answered.
Juniper suddenly yawned, covering her mouth with her hand.
"I've had my rest, now it's your turn." Luke said, "Go and get some sleep, Juniper."
Chapter 6
Juniper got 12 hours sleep. In the early hours of the morning she returned to the medical wing, where she found Luke preparing to start fighter practice.
"I take it your feeling well." Juniper said, as she walked in.
"Thanks to you." Luke said, smiling.
Luke walked towards the door stopping beside Juniper.
"I want to give you something to say thank you." He said.
"No, you don't need to." Juniper said.
Luke took a deep breath, he stepped forward and kissed Juniper's lips. A few seconds passed, before he backed away, seeing Juniper's stunned expression made him blush with embarrassment.
"I'm so sorry." Luke muttered, turning away.
Juniper grabbed Luke's hand, to stop him going. She then stepped forward and kissed him. She placed her hand on his face as they kissed each other.
