Kunikuzushi is a dead, dead man.
Listen. It's not like it’s his fault you’re a guitarist, much-less the lead of a band; and it most certainly does not fall to his blame that he’s been lonely, alright?
You’ve been out all weekend, and it’s already Sunday night. He—he won't admit he misses you, but it’s a close thing.
“I’ll be back Monday, baby,” you’d said, last Friday. You’d held him in your broad arms, your large palms a searing brand to his hips as he grunted at you for spinning him.
He had shoo’d you away, said, “Okay, okay!” and pushed you out the door with your guitar and damning crooked grin.
You had pouted, too, standing in the doorway like some kicked kitten, and Kuni couldn’t deny such pitiful look on your handsome face. “C’mere,” he’d grumbled, reeled you in and kissed you soundly on your lips. “Goodluck, yeah?”
“Yeah.” You’d kept your faces together for a few moments, breathing in him, before you ultimately straightened up. “I love you.”
With a scoff, another shove and a soft, “Goodbye—,” one you gave him back, your own adoring farewell—he had murmured, “I love you, too.”
(He hasn't seen the smile on your face for you turned the other way. It made your heart skip a beat, made you hold tighter to the purple straps of your guitar as you went to the curb your bandmates had been waiting for you on.
Kuni had seen, however, the grip of your fingers across the leather; he had seen it well. So well.)
Kuni groans. Your hands. He can't get your hands off his mind: your hands tightening around your guitar strap, your hands holding tight to his waist, your hands covering the expanse of his pale skin, your hands dipping down, your hands stroking his cock and nudging into his cunt and and—
he’s a goner. Not only dead, but gone: utterly, entirely, wholly for you.
Your hands are just so—enticing. That's it, that's all. They're nice to look at.
. . . and nice to imagine knuckle-deep in his cunt. Of course, they’re nice to feel actively thrusting in him, rubbing across his chubby cock and smearing the mess of slick and lube across his hole; but you're not here right now, and he's left with only a whisper of you in his imagination, and a video of you playing live.
He couldn't attend your show, thanks to a paper he had to submit by Saturday night. But tonight's Sunday, and the paper's squared away and submitted and done, and he's lonely, right now, replaying your recording, eyes watching the both steady and jerking movements in turn of your fingers across the guitar strings.
His cock throbs. “Shit.”
With another groan—albeit far weaker, without any gusto behind it—, Kunikuzushi lets his phone fall to the side and sinks full-bodied into the bed. The plush blankets wrap around him, swaddling him in a semblance of you, you, you. They carry your subtle scent in them, a mixture of your soap and his own embedded into the fabric in a heady mix that Kuni greedily drinks in, pressing a corner of it to his mouth and nose as his other hand teases down his body.
A tweak—gentle, mimicking your own soft touch—to his nipples through the thin fabric of his shirt makes him lowly gasp. It’s not as satisfying, with his own touch, but the sensation still makes small zaps of pleasure zing up and down his spine, ending with a heavy pulse at his cock and sending his cunt dribbling.
Pulling off his briefs is an easy thing, if not made a bit messy by the string of slick that connects to and snaps from the seat of the fabric. It’d be embarrassing if you were here to see it, feel it, taste it; but you're not here right now.
He's sorely reminded, again and again: he's alone, for now.
(He misses the embarrassment under you, already, misses the way your touch is always so gentle against him, teasing him and bringing him to release again and again with those damning hands.)
He plays across his opening, now bare, with his fingers, just like you'd do. The wetness clings to his fingertips, and he mourns the loss of the calluses on your hands; his own are soft n’ smooth, providing little friction against the parts that need it most.
“Please,” he whispers to himself, to the air, to absolutely no-one.
He wants you here, so, so bad; but the next best thing is the slide of two fingers, right off the bat, right into the third knuckle. It’s slow going, but it's smooth, and he sharply exhales at the barely-there stretch.
It’s quiet save for the squelch of his fingers, the in-n’-out thrust
When his mind starts playing your voice, the devilish thing, he's a goner twice-over. “Takin’ my fingers so well, baby,” you’d say, he imagines you saying. He mewls at the thought, bending his fingers sharply in the way he knows you would. Though they don’t come into contact with his g-spot how yours would, not at first, the press against his sensitive walls makes him bite his lip still.
Sometimes, Kuni wonders if you know his body better than he does. (You do.)
He thinks, then, of the other things you'd say to him, pressed up close and deep in him. Maybe you would tell him, “So needy,” with a lilt to your voice that reveals you're really not mad at all. “All wet n’ dripping for me, aren't'cha? Aren’t I so lucky to have such a pretty boy under me?”
Maybe you'd lean down and lick at his cock while you spread him open. The thought makes him whine all loud-like, working a third finger in beside the other two, whimpering quietly after the shame of his initial whine.
“Turn over for me, babe,” the you in his head sweetly commands. He swears he can feel your phantom touch on his hips, murmuring, “There you go,” guiding him to roll onto his belly. The shirt he’s kept on bunches up, allowing a whisper of the cold bedroom air to brush his nipples. “My obedient, good boy.”
He feels safer like this, pumping his fingers into his cunt the best he can with the new position. The angle no longer allows his fingers to curl into his g-spot, but it mimics how you handle him: a worthy trade-off, he thinks. He imagines you on his back, stretching him on your fingers as you drape yourself across him, licking n’ kissing at his neck and blushing ears.
“Opening up so good f'r me,” you'd say; Kuni whimpers, biting the pillow—your pillow, saturated in the subtle scent of your shampoo—to muffle himself. He’s safe, like this.
This is as close as he can get to having you, right now—
until it's not.
“Oh,” you breathe. “Kuni, sweetheart.”
Fuck. Fuck.
“You—I—” Kuni wrings himself upright, coming right up to your face, inches away from his own. He growls at you, but it falls short—how could it, when he’s red-faced and pushes at your chest with his slickened hand? “When did you get home?”
“Just now,” you murmur, grabbing his hand and bringing it up to your lips for a kiss, for a taste of him. Then, “Have you cum?”
He rips his hand back. “You can't just—”
“So you haven't,” you say, grinning. Silently, he sputters, but then you're leaning in and kissing him soundly and pressing him down into your bed and—
“Gonna let me make you feel good, baby?” you ask. Your grin turns devilish when you dip your fingertips into him, just so, the callouses on your two fingers already resting so perfectly against his opening.
Your roughed-up thumb presses into his jutting cock, right as he whines, “Yes,” his whole attitude turned on a dime. Sweet, sweet Kunikuzushi.
“You're so wet,” you murmur, entirely awed at the slick glide of your fingers, able to slide a third in oh-so easily. While he had three of his own stuffed up to his third knuckle, your fingers are broader, wider—the knobs of each knuckle is prominent still, nudging each sweet spot in his cunt easy as anything. “God, pretty boy, what were you thinkin’ about to make you this messy?”
Kuni whines again, the sound airy and high, pleading n’ begging.
“Heard you keep saying my name,” you continue, curling your fingers and forcing the bumps at your fingertips against his g-spot in a way his own hands failed to. Asking, “What about me, hm?” makes him tremble, and you think his brain is too pleasure-mushed to process it.
But then he’s reaching for the hand you've got snug on his hip, and he murmurs, “Your hands.”
“My hands?” He nods, closing his eyes tight. You kiss the flutter of eyelashes. “What about them?”
“They're so—” a moan cuts up his words, your thumb working tight against him.
“They're so...?”
He groans. “They're so—so big, ‘nd they're always so warm, so hot in me, s-stretch me so—so good.”
“Yeah?” You pull apart your fingers at his words—only slightly, enough to feel the slight resistance of his cunt. “Like it when I open you up all nice n’ pretty for me?”
“Yes, yes, I l-love it.” Kuni’s so unabashed, now, so close to his orgasm. The clench of his cunt is uncontrolled, pulsing against your fingers and urging you to rub his chubby cock faster, harder, stretching him out and making his mind melt from his pretty, perfect lil’ pussy.
As his back unconsciously arches, his thighs jerking with the spasms of his muscle, he begins to plead you to let him cum. Soft begs fall from his lips as he clutches right at your free hand, both of his smaller ones holding yours tight when you lean down and kiss him, soft n’ sound right against his swollen lips.
You can't even finish your sentence, a gentle, “Cum for me, sweetheart,” before Kuni’s creaming around your fingers, the thick cum left dribbling in your palm and being smeared into his twitching cock.
By the time he’s dropped your hand to grab at your other wrist, he's left a whimperin’, whinin’ mess. You lie next to him and roll his body on top of yours, holding him close around his middle and letting him nuzzle into your throat.
His breathing eventually steadies, matching the gentle rhythm of your chest against his. “Thank you,” he mutters.
“For what?”
He sighs. “Makin’ me cum.” The tone of his voice makes you chuckle, and he raises an eyebrow at you. “What?”
“Nuthin',” you say, laughing. You kiss his forehead in apology, and you continue with, “I should be thanking you, anyway, for surprising me with something like that.”
“Shut up, you perv.”
You’re appalled! “Says the guy fingering himself on our—”
Kuni growls, jumping up and covering your mouth with his hands. “Shut up!” But those pretty indigo eyes soften, crinkling at the edges, and he leans down to kiss your forehead in turn.
“Missed you,” he says, a whisper against your skin—one you return to his sternum, pressing a kiss and your love so close to his heart.
Maybe, if this is death, like this, Kuni wouldn't quite mind being a dead man.

bear with me bc this is gonna be a bit of a long one, but i've seen folks talking about how they're excited to get the horrors back on the qsmp and while i totally agree that i miss those blood-curdling, creepy, uncanny valley sort of scenes... i think the beauty of the overall storyline (as much as it's execution can be criticised ) is that we as the audience are seeing things in a vacuum.
the qsmp storyline is a living breathing player alongside our povs, and while we're aware of that, we're also not always engaging with it. we're getting swept up in the day-to-day of it all and getting lulled into a sense of security that ultimately makes us unable to truly comprehend the horror of the last few months until we take a step back and analyze it bit by bit.
children went missing in the night, leaving only their identifiers behind on empty beds. there were no leads. people looked and looked, and found nothing. parents were mad with concern and grief, and the all-seeing, all-powerful entity that rules their lives trapped in this hamster wheel of an island has no answers.
then, the items left behind on those beds vanish too.
then, there's mind-controlling, happiness inducing drugs being pumped into people against their will. still no news of the children. people are falling apart at the seams.
people are led to a maze where a wheel is spun and everything they have left of the children of this godforsaken island is gone. burned up. what does it mean? no one knows. they have to live on.
suddenly, a game is played. a clone of a dead child shows up, leading some of them into the same maze, forcing them to walk through a maze of doors and corridors, only to find a game of dice orchestrated by an unknown entity.
new people arrive, bearing witness to the hopeless, grim, sad reality of everyone who was already there. there's hope — there's always hope — but my god the pain is overwhelming.
there's clues, but there's not. the government keeping them trapped here against their will still has no answers, nothing to point them in the right direction.
faceless bears go missing.
faceless bodies show up on the streets. bloodied. dead. eaten.
suddenly, there's thunder and lightning and oh! oh, their children! of course they'll get on the train, that's where the children are!
but they're hijacked. stolen. once again, their autonomy is stripped entirely as another entity with power they cannot comprehend forces them to split into factions and compete for... something. their children's lives are on the line and they maim and kill those they call family because they fear they have no choice.
everyone went through hell — purgatory was a bad title for what they went through. it was hell, with no salvation in sight.
when all is said and done, when all the murder and backstabbing is over, they see their children through glass they cannot break. one escapes because chance said so, and the rest are left behind as the ceiling collapses on them.
the world is ending and their salvation is one singular boat a thousand blocks away. lovers can't say goodbye, friends run for their lives together, a father and a son dash desperately with no hope in sight. some stay behind, through choice or chance.
the government official that has made their life hell returns the children to them, and brings some new ones. those new children get carted off to new parents without option (again) and suddenly everything's supposed to be fine! nevermind your friends are gone! nothing to see here!
behind the scenes, the all-seeing all-knowing government is breaking apart, there's something far more horrifying and twisted at play in the background... but it's nothing the islanders can help with. nothing they can do. they have to live on and pretend their golden cage is fine and dandy bc at the end of the day, it's their only option.
one-eyed creatures show up demanding something "of theirs" back and bc humanity is strong, one islander refuses to hand someone kind and innocent off to them.
it dooms them, as their humanity has every single time.
now, they're under attack and they can barely defend themselves despite months of prep and having amazing gear — again, they try their hardest but everything is stacked against them. they fight, and fight, but their children are on the line and that's their main concern.
every fight? there's bodies littering the ground and panicked screams. explosions. chainsaws revving, and worry, and it's a war ten times a week.
a child loses a life, and now it's personal, but what can they do? no one listens to them, no one has ever listened to them.
and in the middle of all of this? their family is still gone, trapped in a wasteland, or missing, or... dead.
there was no funeral for q!maxo bc there's no stopping to smell the roses on quesadilla island, not really. where's slime? where's pol? where's the people who they haven't seen yet? gone, yes, but they don't have time to stop and worry about them. they don't have time to mourn losses and grieve their dead.
luffy, who came to try and help their friends, was stolen and hurt.
those eyeball workers? they were people once, maybe good people. maybe the best people we never got to meet, but they got shifted and changed into something monstrous and out of their control.
my point being: the story that the qsmp is telling is innately horrifying. it's not just creepy — it's twisted, and tragic, and absolutely terrifying. it's about loss of agency and running on an endless hamster wheel of someone else's making, and how you just sort of... live with it after a while.
and i think that's really fucking cool, because like these characters we too get used to the tragedy of life, little by little, and forget to see the whole thing from a bird's eye view (pun intended).

Yan Clown/Circus + Imaginary Friend Darling Blurb
Throughout life, friends come and go, but you - were always the first.
Things were simple in the beginning. Sit with that lonely kid at the playground, wipe their face with your sleeves, and ask if they wanted to be friends. They always said yes. You were inseparable. Playing until streetlights came on plus a seat saved for you at the dinner table when they reluctantly returned home. The biggest fears you faced where the monsters under the bed and the dark... then came school, homework, the future. Your playdates became so far and few, they put in the efforts to make new friends and you were so happy for them.
"Y/n? Who's that? Quit talking to yourself and come hang out with us."
But none of them ever wanted to be yours. Your friend was never home anymore and when they were it was always school work or video games taking their attention. Your place at the table was given to someone else. They'd gradually drift away from speaking to you and it was like you never existed in the first place to them, and maybe you never did - so you left. Back to that empty that existed before it all. There, you remembered all your friends. All your precious memories and the treasures they gave you their parents questioned them about when they disappeared. You hated it there. You didn't want to reminisce on the good times - it only lead to wordless goodbyes. Why - why did they always leave you behind?
"I got invited to a slumber party this weekend... Everyone turned out to be so nice once I gave them a chance like you told me to.... You'll... always be my best friend, but I have real ones now. I'm not a kid anymore - and I can't live in a fantasy world forever."
Of course you always knew - but did your time together really mean nothing? The smiles and tears, joys and fears - were those fake too? This was how life for you went and has gone your entire path. Make a new friend, wait for them to make their own, force yourself to forget, and repeat. You never, ever blamed them for abandoning you. It was your biggest dream to see your friends go out in the world and do all the things you rambled about for hours - you just wished you could've been their when they made their dreams come true. If they could make those fantasies reality, why couldn't you be real too them? It's not fair-
"Hey! You gonna put your raspberry in the square yet? I don't mind waiting cuz you're really cute - but I've eaten most of the blueberries already and if I eat one more I won't have enough for a win."
A new friend - you kept them waiting, lost in your thoughts like that. There's something different about this one... They're a lot bigger than your old friends and dress strange just like those funny people in shows. How old are they?
"28..... Is my favorite number because that's how many waffles I can eat before throwing up. I dunno my age really, I like a lot of candles on my pie so it's hard to remember. I'm probably waaaaaay older - or younger, but I'm definitely not younger than eighteen because I get a new doll every year - and there's a ton. Hey, when's your birthday so we can get your collection started?"
An adult - An adult can see you, but why?
"Hmmm, I dunno how you got in here either. I was just thinking about how great it would be to have someone to eat all these waffles with since I made 29 today - and poof you appeared outta nowhere. You gotta so me that trick eventually - wanna be pals? I'll give you... a quarter, no- half the stack if ya stick around. My name's Gus. Gus the clown."
A clown... Alot of your friends loved those, others were terrified. This one reminded you alot of them. So silly and carefree, just like they always were before reality kicked in. It was never that way for Gus. You'll never forget the shocked look on their face when you told them chocolate milk didn't come from brown cows. They serenaded you with songs detailing your adventures together and nearly had a heart attack when you played peekaboo together which they later tried to play off as good acting - the tear smudges in their paint was just from hot how was is.
At the same time, Gus was far more mature they let on. They fantasized about finding the missing piece to their act and heart, and hopefully marrying that special someone someday. They were all smiles - but as soon as someone got hurt they knew when to drop the act and when to use it to their advantage. You prayed the day they found someone they wouldn't ditch you like everyone else.
It turned out there were a lot more like Gus. True to their status as a performer, they worked and lived in a traveling circus with others who were accepting of you - and had the eyes to see you. They never doubted your existence like parents used to and believed near ever word Gus said even when at the point in time you were nothing more than the ramblings of a mad-clown, and greeted you in kind. Overtime, you became corporal for these performers too and the brief hellos turned to bear hugs thrust upon dolls Gus' sibling made for everyone to have when they wanted sat hello. They still couldn't touch you, but for the first time everyone knew you were their and love you the same, if not more than the friend you came for. Sometimes it really did feel like you were a real person. If only....
"Ouch!"
You pull your hand away from Gus' as the clown bursts into a fit of giggles - yelping in pain as they clap their hands together, electrocuting themselves on the buzzer.
Whoo! That definitely sends a shock through ya. Can't believe that got you. Hey - that got you... you've never been hurt by any of the things we've done before."
They're right. That really did hurt. Wait. It hurt. You've never been able to interact with anything before - leaving Gus overwhelmed on brunch dates when they devoured your share. What's going on?
Gus expresses the confusion you're both feeling with a high-pitched scream. They dart around the room, nabbing their emergency supplies of candy from beneath their pillow. "Ahhhh, idea - Y/n, try one of these - hurry!"
You take one of the licorice sticks and shove it in your mouth. If picked up the treat wasn't proof enough, the explosion of flavor on your tongue confirmed your theories.
"It's...good."
Gus races in a circles, squeeling in delight as they grab and pinch your plush - warm cheeks. "They've never been warm before! This is amazing. Ahhh, next test- here goes!"
Shutting their eyes, Gus rams their lips against yours - grinning with teeth against your skin. They kiss your lips, cheeks, and noses - smothering you with a hug, soaking up the beat of your speeding heart.
"You have no idea long I've wanted to do that...."
You're still reeling from everything going on. "W-what's happening, Gus?"
"No clue! If you want my guess, I'd say so many people believing in you made you real like that one movie with the puppet. The others! Oh, man everyone's gonna love this! Come on!"
Gus picks you up and sprints to the main show room. They gather everyone into the area along with the biggest mirror they could find. They try to explain, but the excitement gets the better of them. Frustrated by everyone's agreeable questions - they rip off the blanket covering the mirror and your reflection, and the crowd goes wild.
"That wasn't there before! Can we touch Y/n now???"
"I call dibs on giving them their first piggyback ride!"
"Wonderful timing! I knitted you a lovely scarf before I forgot you technically were a figment of our combined imaginations."
"If they're really here and can touch stuff... They can be part of the show - can't they?"
Thats right. You'd fit right in with your history too. After a celebratory dinner and cuddle session - the preparations for your big debut were made. As expected, everyone loved you. You and Gus were the starting act, and two halves of the same whole. People saw you, they praised you, loved you. The adoration of the crowd was like no other, but everything after the curtains were closed was even better. Gus kept to their promise of never leaving you behind. You were that missing piece - someone they couldn't live without. It was time for you to finally grow up and leave the ghosts of the past where they lied.
"Aw, don't be like that, sweetie. You'll love it once we get there."
This is bullshit. Their college gradation and their folks were dragging them to some circus. Luckily they had a few buds pull through for an aftershow at a nearby bat.
"Maybe your opinion will change when you see the staring act. That clown reminds me a lot of that friend you used to go on about. What was their name again? I think it was -"
Y/n. Your name and smiling face were plastered on a billboard they passed. It was no vague resemblance - that was their first companion down to the scrunchie you wore around your wrist that they gave you on the day they gave you the lukewarm mercy of a goodbye. It couldn't really be you - right?
"Look how big you've grown...."
No-
"Your parents tell me you're graduating this year. I'm so, so proud of you. Are you going to become a scientist just like you said?"
How?
"You always said it was so you could find a way for everyone to see me too... I'm sorry for holding you back for so long. It's good that you made friends. I made alot too - really good ones. With them, I can live in fantasy and the real world at the same time. It's so much fun."
What are you apologizing for? Why are you acting like you're the one that abandoned them. You were everywhere to them. Everything they ever achieved was because of the shoulder you gave them to lean on. Being with you was like a dream - but everyone has to wake up eventually.
"Oops! Looks like a wasted all our time. I have a few more scheduled greets, but maybe if you stay after we can chat a little more before you leave. See you!"
They don't want to leave. There's still so much to be explained; to say and do, but just like them - you were gone as you appeared. They had to see you again in a better time. Do imaginary friends drink coffee?"
"How's it feel to be the one on the other end of the stick?"
Another clown stands behind them. It was the same one that shared your act. Gus. What do they want?
"Y'know I know alllll about what happened between you two. I know everything from their past since as their bestest friend - and potential future spouse - it's my job to make them loved enough to spill every, little detail. You shouldn't have come here. You're not the first to recognize them - and you won't be the last.
The ball of their wrist juts painfully against their skin as the clown grabs their arm.
"I won't let any of you get back into their heart. I won't let anyone hurt them again. You can't just take back what you broke when someone else fixes it. I'll make you feel what they felt. I'll make them forget you - and anyone who tries to take them from us that I promise and promises are meant to be kept. Quick question before you go though - think Y/n will like these matching necklaces I made us? Anything looks cute when its on them - but think it'll fit better than that old scrunchie."

Will I tire of sending Law requests? Never. So bare with me.
Law meets a girl on an island and they hit it off. She wants to go with him, but he says the sea is too dangerous for her. And he admits he likes her before taking off.
Instead of being broken hearted, she takes this as motivation to go out to sea and find him.
After months she finds him, and after slapping him into the next century, she tells him she likes him too. And maybe after some fluff, maybe have her mention not being left behind because “there’s only so many times you can handle being slapped by me”
Hiya!! I can absolutely do this minus the slapping ghlkjadf
Notes: reader has Ruby's weapon from rwby bc why not even though I've not seen that in years
[heads up!: afab/fem aligned reader, fluff, some silliness, angst, cursing, implied drinking]

You've been out on the sea six months.
One hundred and eighty-two days ㅡ down to the exact day. Gone is the rickety sloop you'd ventured from your home on ㅡ and you'd bartered, sweet-talked, and bargained your way into a ship far better than that.
You've even made a name for yourself, though it's been through some odd mix of unfortunate circumstance and luck ㅡ but you're still no closer to your goal.
Because you're not looking for something, you're looking for someone. And that in and of itself is a drop in the bucket because there are a thousand places he could be, and a thousand that he couldn't.
But as with all places that you stop at, you have to start somewhere ㅡ and so you start at the local bar. It's the best place, after all ㅡ liquored mouths tend to talk the loudest, and you're good at listening.
"You're not from around here, are ya?"
You smile against the rim of your drink before you set it down, watching the ice cubes clink. "What gave it away?"
"The fact ya aren't absolutely trashed off yer rocker," your new companion snickers. He's an older man somewhere in the range of salt and pepper hair and a couple of wrinkles that deep when he grins. "And that ship of yours out at the harbor."
You blink and shift in your seat, letting your fingers drift over the rectangular metal pack at your thigh.
"Relax, missy. Not lookin' for trouble." Your companion eyes you. "Ya must be lookin' for someone if yer here though."
You pick your drink up, sipping from it carefully. "You're right, I am." Your new friend watches as you turn to rummage in your pocket, producing a worn, battered piece of paper and unfolding it.
It's a wanted poster, creases made for how often you've shown it ㅡ and you point to the photo. "Have you seen this man?"
Your companion leans back, humming thoughtfully. "I think I saw 'im a couple days ago. He 'n his crew were stopping for supplies at the next island, I think. But isn't heㅡ"
"Thank-you," you say, folding the paper up and tucking it away before you toss a handful of beri onto the table and stand. "For the drink, and for you. You've been very helpful."
The man watches you go, then glances down at the beri, metal shining dully in the light. "What's a bounty hunter want with a war lord?"
You arrive at the next island by mid-afternoon the next day. Hungry and more than a little exhausted, your mood is far from stellar when you step foot on the dock.
"First food, then a nap, then I'll ask around," you mumble to yourself as you stretch, stifling a yawn. "He's turning into more trouble than I bargained for..."
Part of you often wonders what you're even doing ㅡ leaving your home behind, embarking entirely alone on the basis of talking to someone who'd left you without so much as a goodbye.
Correction, he had ㅡ and it'd sucked.
"Who leaves somebody with 'if it were safer I'd take you with me but it's dangerous no matter how I feel' as a goodbye? That sucked shit!" You grouse, kicking at a loose stone. "Trafalgar Law, you're a jerk."
And a warlord, apparently ㅡ he'd forgotten to mention that. And you suppose you have to commend yourself ㅡ most girls in your situation would probably have sulked and moped, maybe stared out at the sea like a grief stricken widow.
You, on the other hand, had simply sulked for two days before scowling and stomping out of your house and declaring that you were going to track the jerk down and demand an apology and a proper confession because that one sucked.
Six months and a growing reputation as a bounty hunter (whoops) later, here you are. Starving, tired, and desperately hoping Law and his crew are still here.
You're not sure what to do if they aren't. Will you keep chasing him, doom yourself to an eternal game of cat and mouse? You're not even sure he feels the way he had before, or if he'd ever felt that way in the first place ㅡ what if it'd just been to placate you?
No, you don't need to fall into that line of thinking ㅡ you're just tired, that's all. And hungry.
You trudge your way towards the nearest restaurant, footsteps heavy as you stagger your way to a table and slap a handful of beri down when a waiter approaches you. "Whatever is the recommended meal, please."
If there's judgement about how bedraggled you must look (if you look how you feel), you don't hear it ㅡ nor do you care.
Once your stomach has stopped rumbling enough to suggest that it's gnawing on itself, you find the energy to look around, catching the handful of wanted posters tacked to a board near the door.
If nothing else, at least you have means to continue that turn of events. Once your meal is finished, you leave a tip and stand, snagging one of the posters on your way out.
Certain that you haven't noticed them, a pair of men stand a few minutes after you leave, sharing a look before they move to follow you.
You notice the pair following you in under five minutes. For starters, they're nowhere near as sneaky as they think they are ㅡ and while your observation skills need refining, you're not completely without them.
"Alright, you two." You come to a stop, hand at your thigh, ready to engage the metal pack with a single touch. "What do you want?"
"You're a bounty hunter," one of them starts, eyeing you warily. "We've seen your face before."
"Really," you answer dryly. "Good for you. I'm not in the mood for small fry, so if you leave now, I'll pretend I didn't see you."
You really, truly are not in the mood to deal with these two ㅡ you're tired damn it, you want to sleep.
You hear the click of a gun cocking, and you sigh as you press the shallow button ㅡ and watch as your weapon springs to life with a series of sleek metallic clicks. "Alright," you sigh, "you asked for it."
"Excuse me," you say, voice strained for the effort it takes to haul the two unconscous knuckleheads behind you and prop them up against the kickboard of the bar counter. "Two questions. Where is an inn or a hotel or something, and where can I turn these two in for their bounty?"
The bartender blinks at you, then at the unconscious (and lightly bleeding) pair behind you. "Uh..."
Across the room, however, you're being watched again. This time not from small time pirates or thugs. Rather, a set of golden eyes lock on you, trying to parse out where he knows you from ㅡ and then narrowing when it hits him.
Several sets of eyes lock on him as he stands, somewhere between confusion and concern as he weaves around tables, intent on reaching you.
A fist in the back of your shirt is not what you expect ㅡ nor is the abrupt lurch backwards, making you windmill your arms to keep your balance, only to lose it anyways as you're hauled towards the exit.
"Hey!" You snap, squirming to free yourself with one hand as the other goes to deploy your weapon, "what is your problem?"
"My problem," a familiar voice says as they stop, "is that you're here."
You bristle as you wrench free, narrowed eyes sweeping up to lock with gold, blazing beneath a very familiar cap, spotted with the motif of a snow leopard.
And after six months of searching, you've found Trafalgar Law.
Law stares at you, wholly unchanged since you last saw him save for the look of irritation on his face. "Explain."
Of all the places he'd thought to see you again, it wasn't here ㅡ because truthfully, he hadn't been expecting to ever see you again at all. He'd left you in your tiny island town, turned, and refused to look back.
"Explain what?" Your head tips, and his teeth grit.
"This," he says, waving at the cruel curve of metal that arcs over your head from the metal pole in your hand, "and what you're doing here."
You still, and the playful glimmer in your eyes snuffs out like a candle. "What I'm doing here?" You laugh, the sound incredulous and tinted with a hint of hysteria. "What I'm doing here? I was looking for you!"
Law tenses. "For me? Why?"
"Because, you asshole," you snarl, eyes blazing, "you broke my heart!"
"Did you really leave her like that captain? That's cold."
Law's eyes flick to Penguin. "Eavesdropping is an awful habit to pick up."
Penguin shrugs. "We weren't, she was yelling at you pretty loud."
And you had ㅡ close to shrieking as you'd poured out every frustration over the last six months trying to find him, and what he'd done to incite it.
And then you'd cried. One tear, then two ㅡ hiccuping as you tried to stem the flow, weapon put away in favor of pressing your palms to your eyes.
Law had seen no other option but to bring you back to where he and the others were staying, chest aching for the rough way you'd yanked from his touch and retreated to one of the rooms ㅡ his room, ironically.
"What are you going to do?" Bepo watches him, and Law wonders what exactly they're expecting him to do as he sighs and stands, heading for his room.
"What I have to."
"Go away."
Law stares at your back as he steps into the room, watches you tense as he shuts the door. "We need to talk."
"I told you to go away."
"This is my room, technically." He approaches, perching himself on the edge of the bed. "You don't have to talk to me, but listen."
"Why should I?"
"Just listen to me, damn it!" He pauses and then tries again, softer. "Please."
You still won't look at him. "Fine."
Law sighs, trying to collect his thoughts before he says something that will get him into even deeper trouble with you. Had he meant what he said before he left? Yes, he had ㅡ but he hadn't meant for it to be an invitation for you to come find him.
"I'm...sorry. For leaving you the way that I did. But I stand by the fact the sea is dangerousㅡ"
"Made it just fine on my own so far."
Law bites his tongue, pushes back the snappy retort that you'd gotten lucky so far. Even though it's clear you have your own skillset, and that you can hold your own.
Maybe he'd been wrong.
"You'll get yourself killed if you're alone." He doesn't want that, it's the very reason he left you there ㅡ that you'd be safe. "Which is why," he continues before you can snap back, "...I want you to come with me."
You shift, and your eyes lock. "What?"
"Come with me," he repeats. "My crew. On the Polar Tang."
You sit upright. "You better not be saying that to get me to forgive you, Trafalgar Law. It's going to take a lot more thanㅡ"
He snatches your wrist, yanking you in for a clumsy kiss that you pull away from quickly.
"Seriously?" You eye him, then turn away with a huff. "If I join you, I have two conditions."
He raises an eyebrow. "And those are?"
"You still owe me for that shitty and now that shitty kiss. This isn't a romance novel, you jerk."

just watched tazercract's last vod (in prison) and omfg. we might've finally got a opening to destroy the federation.
tbh I never was very fond of walter bob or any other minion, because to me that's all they're— federation minions. but this stream opened my eyes.
they are Not just minions, they are their own person. I've seen many people saying they the inhabitants gave some minions personality (like walter bob getting his name and appearance because of them) and yes I totally agree! but also, the prison guards already have a personality. and as far as I know, they first direct contact with sentient beings was with tazercraft, in prison. like backpack guard saying his name is classified? I don't watch many povs, so it could be news to only me, but since when the federation workers have names? since when they have -or rather, known- their existence as a Living Being With Consciousness? without having to be Given by others? hell, even cucurucho doesn't have a name. he tolerated to be called like that because humans, especially, crave significance, so obviously they'd give him a name. and he is even gone far by acknowledging and taking it as his own.
but that's all because of human interference.
now, at the end of the stream.
walter bob frequently did Not reciprocate mike's (numerous) hugs tentative throughout the entire episode, but in the end he Did hug mike back. this, to me, show how organic, alive, and emotional walter bob is. completely opposite of cucurucho.
if it was cucurucho, rather than any other minion, then it would've been 100% less emotional. "I want to escape!" "no." and so on. if walter bob was like cucurucho, then he would NEVER do anything. pac and mike want to escape? who cares. they feel sorry for breaking rules? no one asked.
the guards are, too, different. they were playing and talking lightly with tazercraft and walter bob whenever they felt like. pac talked so fondly of pancho that backpack guard decided to give him a whole PIE even though pac wasn't hungry anymore! the pan guard always listened to tazercraft! and even thought they were aggressive and violent against the prisoners, it's clearly they are alive.
when walter bob was took away, he was looking at tazercraft, as if either saying goodbye or for help. may be my mind, but he looked in despair to find out his first ever opportunity of being happy was teared away from him. and then the guard's message: "this is for my partner, you will not see your friend again." this has so many emotions. grief. anger. frustration. pain. revengeness and even denial. he is Not like cucurucho. he is like everyone else. he has feelings, he has a personality, he has a soul and a consciousness.
and where do I want to go with this? well, knowing all of this, the inhabitants might have a chance against the federation. the federation is strictly -might even say religiously- rational. everything done is done for a bigger, logical reason. no action is taken before being planned, calculated and accepted. not a single detail is left out and if it is, its for a reason. but they lack emotion. they lack life. and the inhabitants -the order- is full of it. they have emotions, they have life, they have logic, they have death. they have everything in balance. we have walter bob, who doesn't not want to be on the federation's side anymore. we have backpack guard, that despite developing an hatred towards pac and mike, he might be coerced to go against the federation (it's not like cucurucho will console him or treat respectably his grief, so he might turn his back at them).
and yes, I know this is little comparing to the federation size, ammo, technology, etc. but fuck it. you don't overthrow someone without doing little by little.

"Some Kind of Melancholic Mist" (Uni AU P. 8)
tw - themes of anxiety
As all good moments do, this one ends. You're almost too busy taking in Astarion's genuine smile to notice when he goes to check his phone. You don't pry, but he clearly isn't happy with whoever's calling him.
"Sorry, I have to take this."
The mood shifts very suddenly, like it felt at the party that night. You stay silent, not wanting to interrupt. When he puts his phone up to his ear, you notice the scrap piece of paper you wrote your phone number on, folded in the back of his phone case.
"Yes?
You said tomorrow.
No I-
Yes.
Yes I know.
When?
Now? That's-
Yes.
Yes, of course."
The call ends abruptly, and you see his hand tense around his phone.
"You have to go?"
"Yes, sadly. This though? It was... it was nice. And I'm sorry."
"Why?"
"Because I believe you have poor taste in people, and I hope it doesn't get you hurt. That's all. I'll see you around."
Before you can say goodbye, he's gone, like he turned into some kind of melancholic mist. The magic of the moment is tainted. It's as if that entire hour disappeared, sand running through your fingers. Not sure what to do with the sudden downfall of your feelings, you travel back to your dorm room, and find Gale standing outside. He's on the phone, a big smile across his face.
"Of course. I'll see you then."
You have an evil little smirk on your face when he notices you approaching.
"Was that... your secret lover?"
He almost wants to roll his eyes, but talking about her is just too exciting.
"Yes. God, she's spectacular. Surprised she even wanted to start seeing me, but it's far too late to question it now! Just have to enjoy the glorious hand I've been dealt."
"Nice to know at least one of us is happy. You here to see Shadow?"
"Yes. Apparently Karlach messaged her privately, asking if she wanted to go to some diner tonight, and now she's all nervous."
"Then I guess we have ourselves a mission Gale."
The two of you shake hands like you're in some cheesy sitcom, and laugh to yourselves. He holds the door open for you after you scan your key.
"Where have you been by the way? I saw you skulk off with your little lover boy."
"It's not like that. I just think he's nice, misunderstood. We talked about philosophy stuff for a while. It was really nice actually."
Your conversation is interrupted by Shadowheart, who walks up to the two of you with both eyes done in a completely different makeup style, somehow both being intensely sad and greyscale.
"There you are Gale! I can't decide if I should do the winged liner with the glitter shadow, or the smudge with the matte! I have like an hour!"
He grabs her hands.
"Okay first of all, you know doing the smudge only looks cool on TikTok. Second of all, you would really give up the opportunity to show her that you know how to do a cat eye?"
"Ugh, you're right. See, this is why we're best friends! Because I'm pretty and fun and smart, and you're the voice of reason!"
She walks off to the bathroom to wipe off the right eye, and Gale follows.
"Hey, I am also pretty and fun and smart thank you very much!"
You follow the two of them to the tiny bathroom as Shadowheart haphazardly starts removing the eyeshadow.
"You two have to come with me, or else I will make a fool of myself. And you know I hate making a fool of myself."
"Shadow, she most certainly wanted this to be a date."
"Yes, and I won't get a second one if I look like an idiot. Please?"
"I'll go, but if I'm a mood killer that's your fault."
She then turns to you.
"Uh, sure! I have nothing else to do."
"Thanks! I would hug you guys, but you know I hate touching people."
After arguing with Shadowheart about what outfit she should wear, the three of you pile into Gale's car.
"I'm telling you, if I have to drive there I will throw up."
"Fine, I'll believe you, but you're paying me for gas."
You sit in the back because Shadow calls shotgun, but you don't mind the roominess. Gale's car is one of those sensible vans, a mom-mobile type. It's close to 4:30 now, and you stare out at people walking down the sidewalk, going about their daily lives. You wonder about the strangers, if they're happy, if they're off to do something important. When you get bored of theorizing on the lives of others, you go back to scrolling through your phone, and you're met with a message in the newly made group chat.
mama_k: Hey guys! Just wanted to say hi :)
Shadow giggles in the front seat.
"Agh, she's adorable! Gale, I don't know how you don't understand the hype around her. Karlach's wonderful."
"Well, firstly I'm a taken man. But also you barely know her."
"She's like a golden retriever! Tav, you get it right? Or are you still thinking about your new pale friend?"
"I'm telling you, it's not like that."
"It was like that when you had sex with him."
You kick the back of Gale's seat.
"He didn't even like the sex anyways! So it's whatever."
Shadowheart turns around to look at you.
"Wait, you're telling me you had sex with him, and it was bad?"
"No, that's the confusing part, is that it was really good, he just didn't seem into it?"
"Well, when you fuck as much as he does, I'm sure you get bored."
You and Shadow both turn to Gale.
"What do you mean?"
"Oh, working with Mystra I hear plenty of things from other people in the arts. Assistants, hairdressers, make-up artists. Let's just say plenty of them have experiences with him."
"Well, I mean whatever floats your boat I guess. I'm not one to judge, love a good one-night stand when I'm desperately single."
Gale and Shadowheart continue to talk about her ho phase, as well as her upcoming date that you two are crashing. You think hard about Gale's comment, and what that means for you. Technically, it means nothing, especially if you were just one in a long line of hookups, but why go through the effort if he didn't even enjoy himself? Perhaps you really were just that rusty. Before your thoughts run any deeper, you've arrived at the diner, a small place with an arcade in the back. Karlach knocks on the window next to Shadow, scaring everyone in the car. When everyone calms down from the fright, the four of you make it inside.
"So, you brought along Gale and Tav?"'
The wrestler seems a little dissapointed.
"I just thought they'd be fun! But I'm sure if we get bored of them, we can ditch them."
The two women laugh, grazing hands, which causes Shadow's face to go red fairly quickly. All four of you order some greasy food, cheap stuff to share between all of you, and you quickly find yourself sitting in a small booth next to Gale, across from the two sapphic lovebirds. You all shoot the shit for a while, picking at boneless wings and cheese fries, feeling like true college kids. It's close to 6 now, and Karlach has slowly inched her arm over Shadowheart's shoulder. While you smile at the sweet moment, the two staring into each other's eyes like middle schoolers, your phone vibrates in your pocket. A call from an unknown local number. You step outside and answer the phone.
"Tav?"
The voice from this afternoon.
"Yeah?"
"Can we talk... please?"
You almost don't know what to say, surprised Astarion even called.
"Sure. What about?"
"No, I mean in person. I really don't like phone calls, I just- I'm freaking out."

FANFICTION: Weasley Twins x Reader (Slytherin Girl) - Part 6
WARNINGS: mentions of violence
You follow Fred and George over to the table on the far right of the room where Hermione Granger, the famous Harry Potter, and their younger brother, Ron Weasley, are already sitting.
"Everyone, this is our new friend, y/n," George happily introduces you.
You suddenly feel very self conscious. "Hello," you say, waving shyly as you sit down.
Hermione waves back. Harry smiles briefly then goes back to the newspaper in his hands.
"So we're making friends with Slytherins now, eh?" says Ron. Hermione elbows him in hard in the stomach. "Ow!"
"Don't be rude!" Hermione scolds. She turns to you and smiles apologetically. "It's very nice to finally meet you."
"Finally?" you say as you dish yourself some mashed potatoes.
Hermione nods. "Yes, I've heard all about you. You're—"
"The Hermione of Slytherins," Fred interrupts.
You laugh. "I'm honored to receive such a title!" Hermione blushes at the compliment.
"Honestly, the two of you should be in Ravenclaw," says George through a mouthful of chicken.
"Do you like quidditch, y/n?" Ron asks. At this, Harry looks up from the paper.
"I don't play, but I fancy watching a good game as much as the next person," you respond.
"That's how I feel about it, too," Hermione says.
"You should come watch us play some time," George says. The other three boys nod in agreement.
"You could sit in the stands with me!" Hermione sings, grasping your arm excitedly with both hands.
"I would like that very much! Just don't be offended when I cheer for team Slytherin," you chortle.
"We'll convince you soon enough to cheer for us," Fred says. "And once you do, you'll never be disappointed again!"
"Amen to that!" George exclaims, and the twins share a high-five.
You chuckle. "I look forward to it."
"When is our first game anyway?" Ron asks, stuffing an entire roll into his mouth.
"For heaven's sake, Ron, you're going to choke on your food one of these days!" Hermione warns.
"And die," adds Fred. You and George snort.
Ron rolls his eyes. "If I do, I at least hope it's before our O.W.L.S. exams."
"You'd be more willing to take them if you were better prepared—" Hermione starts.
"Aw, here we go again..."
Fred leans over to George and mutters something inaudible, apparently deciding now's a good time to leave. They stand up and go to stand on either side of you, George on your left and Fred on your right.
"We've got to go," George says, stooping down to link his arm with yours.
"Hm?" You're in the middle of chewing a bite of pulled pork, so you can't protest.
"Say goodnight, y/n," Fred encourages. He grabs your other arm. You look back and forth between the twins confusedly before the they hoist you up off the bench. Hermione, acting like the twins' behavior is nothing out of the norm, waves goodbye as Fred and George drag you out of the Great Hall.
You swallow your food quickly. "Hey! Stop manhandling me! I've had enough of that today already," you mope.
"Already?" the twins ask. They stop walking and let go of you obediently, stepping aside to give you space. They watch with mild concern and curiosity as you brush yourself off.
"Yes..." You don't want to tell them about your embarrassing run in with Malfoy, but they're waiting for an answer and you want to go finish your dinner. "Malfoy... um..."
Fred and George raise their eyebrows at the mention of Malfoy's name.
"What did he do?" Fred asks. You're surprised by the urgency in his voice.
"Nothing terrible... he just... kissed me without my permission to do so..." You blush and stare at the ground. Why are you telling, of all people, the Weasley twins about this? "And he really snogged me if you know what I mean," you chuckle uncomfortably. "I almost went to Dumbledore about it..."
"By golly, for Malfoy's sake you should have gone to Dumbledore," George laughs bluntly after a small moment of silence, though he seems far from amused.
"Don't you worry about it any longer, y/n. We'll give him a real punishment. One that the headmaster isn't allowed to give," Fred says, nodding determinedly.
"No! No, no, please don't," you beg. "I don't want the drama to go on."
"But it will if no one puts a stop to it," says George.
"That's the thing! I think I've done that. What I mean is, Malfoy and I are even." The twins raise their eyebrows once more, insisting that you elaborate. "Look closely at the back of his head the next time you see him. He should have a bald patch," you say casually.
Fred's howling laughter echoes throughout the halls. George just stares at you in shock, an amazed grin slowly spreading across his face.
"Merlin's beard, y/n!" exclaims George.
"Yup! Practically scalped him with my bare hands!" you gladly exaggerate, making a ripping gesture with your hands. This makes Fred laugh even harder. George has to help him off the ground by the time he finally calms. The three of you sit down on a nearby bench because Fred's laughing has left him weak in the knees.
"Wow. Thanks, guys. It feels really good to have told somebody about it all," you say. "I would have normally ranted to my friend, Maddy, but she's seemed to have sort of fallen off the face of the earth."
"Glad to be of service," Fred snickers. There's a content moment of silence as you all gaze out the window on the wall across from you. The remnants of the sunset are beautiful, causing the evening sky to fade from pink, to purple, and then dark blue.
"Where were you two intending to take me?" you ask after a while. "When you stole me away from my supper."
The twins chuckle.
"We need your help again," George says. "Hermione doesn't dare associate herself with our shenanigans."
"And you're her, but better," Fred finishes with a grin.
"Oh..." So they only wanted you for your brains...
"But it's getting late, and it sounds like you might need a good night's rest," says George. "Project Nosebleed can wait."
Project Nosebleed? "Alright then..."
Fred and George get to their feet. "We bid you adieu," Fred says and both brothers bow low to the ground dramatically.
You giggle. "Goodnight. Have sweet dreams," you say, standing. You turn and start for your common room.
"Oh, we will," George says quietly, though you don't think you were meant to hear it.
When you reach the Slytherin common room, Maddy is still no where to be seen. She's not even in your dormitory. You leisurely get ready for bed, wondering if you should be worried about her, but you don't get to think much more about it because you pass out the moment your head hits the pillow.

I heard the call Hind made asking for help before she was murdered
I saw Sidra's little body hanging from the wall, her legs blown off
I saw the picture Motaz never wanted to share, the lifeless child covered in rubble and blood, their scalp hanging off
I saw the uncensored video of the decomposing NICU babies left behind in the hospital when Israel refused to let them be taken somewhere safe
I heard the audio of Aaron Bushnell as he burned alive, screaming Free Palestine with his last words
I saw the video of the headless child
I saw the videos of mothers cradling their children, saying their last goodbyes
I saw the video of the father holding the remains of his children in grocery bags because it was all he could find of them
I saw the video of Reem, of her little lifeless body cradled in her grandfather's arms as he kissed her face, stroked her hair, the soul of his soul
I have seen it all. I don't look away. They can't, so I can't.
How much more do we have to see, how much more do THEY have to suffer, before anything is done? The US recently vetoed a ceasefire again, AGAIN, they sat down, they looked over the evidence, the carnage and the death toll and the trauma, and they VETOED a ceasefire
When will enough be enough?? Palestinians have been under attack for DECADES, they've never known peace, but it has progressed now to a genocide, a full-blown goal to completely wipe them out. Israel has backed them into a corner, they've chased them from their homes to Rafah, and are now demanding they either go into Egypt or be wiped out
When do our "leaders" decide that things have gone too far? When another innocent life is taken? When another couple hundred babies are blown to bits, when they're so unrecognizable that their own parents are having to identify them by their names written on their bodies? When parents don't even have full bodies to bury? When all they have is bits and pieces of their CHILDREN??
WHEN IS IT ENOUGH??
WHEN IS IT DEEMED TOO MUCH??
WHEN??
Because I saw it was too much on October 7th. When I saw those first videos, those first pictures, when the first dead child I've ever seen came up on my feed, so, so small, wrapped in white, cradled in the arms of a mother or a father who never should've had to say goodbye, that is when I saw it was too much, that it went too far, that enough was enough
And yet?
Our government is doing nothing. Our government is FUNDING the genocide of an entire population of innocent men, women, and children
We have people who are going to the extreme for the rights Palestinians should already have..Aaron Bushnell, the woman in Atlanta..they set themselves on fire, on FIRE, because we aren't being listened to. We have people setting themselves on fire in the hopes their voices will be heard and this fucking genocide will be over
WHEN WILL ENOUGH BE ENOUGH???

Just wanted to stop by and let you know that I was thinking of you and sincerely hope life is being kind ❤️
I’ve read a few Irondad fics lately that have been so well articulated and beautifully written, and they’ve reminded me of your stories. But your work will always be the GOAT to me. Everything else I read is always compared to your version of the MCU, because that’s canon in my opinion.
I secretly love that your stories keep going, that Identity Within is still a WOP, because parting with a finished story when you reach the end… a story that you’ve grown to love and formed a bond with… it’s really hard to say goodbye. It feels a little like grief if I’m being honest.
I’ve lived in the joy of knowing that there’s no permanent end (yet) to the Identity Series for years now, and I’m actually really grateful that I haven’t had to read an ending or experience that final farewell.
I just wanted you to know that your work is so appreciated, and while I’m sure it weighs on you sometimes that the updates take a while and the series has been ongoing for a few years, it actually brings me so much comfort ❤️ You deserve to know that you make that difference for someone.
Life is being....SOMETHING to me 😅😫😩So when I say that this message rejuvenated the very essence of my soul, I truly mean it ❤️❤️❤️
I've had some very rough nights recently, thanks to the wonders of ₊˚ʚ ᗢ₊˚✧ ゚ stress ₊˚ʚ ᗢ₊˚✧ ゚I've got front row tickets to the "when it rains, it pours" show, and to add onto that, I started a whole new career where I'm *running a freaking business.* Yeah, sleep doesn't really happen as often as it should for me.
And because I'm still trying to sleep, I don't keep my mind operating at such a capacity that I could do anything worthwhile other than watch Tiktoks re-read through my series for shits and giggles, because I wrote it having wanted to read these things, and now I can go back and have fun reading the story that was once all jammed packed into my head. And in doing this, I tend to remember comments that made my entire day, month, year, and so I go into my inbox and just....I just read all the comments, over and over again, with such a profound, appreciative, ecstatic, blessed feeling in my heart.
The love that everyone has had for this series is what makes me still so deep in love with it today. And hearing that from people like you, who are so kind to take a minute of your time and express these things as if it were your first time ever reading the story...god, a girl couldn't be anymore lucky. Truly, #hashtag blessed.
My free time is far and few inbewteen these days (why did I decide to go run a freaking business 😳) but I promise you, no job will ever take this series away from me. I'm far too excited for everything that's yet to come, still to be written, and needs to be told, that I'll never leave this piece unfinished. Knowing that the pace it's taken isn't something that bother people does ease my nerves and calm me a bit, and I thank you so very much for expressing that and all the love alongside with it.
Chapter 9, Bachelor Party, is one BEAST of a chapter that's nearing closer and closer to finished every day. I hope for an update within the month or two. It contains a whooping 17 characters in a single scene, with character interactions we damn right deserved in the MCU. 2/3rds of the way done and and I think my inability to control the word count says enough about what to expect.
Tumblr media
These characters have gone through far too much to rush through chapters now. In fact, the more things go on, the richer things get -- and to know amazing people like you are along for the ride...that's just so dam nifty. ❤️❤️❤️

Gray! I'm very interested to know more about what your time working with Radigan was like, how did the two of you meet? was there much tension over the fact that he worked for your brothers too?
Radigan Conagher is. . . a special story.
Tumblr media
Mr. Conagher and I met in person only when we were both old men, but I was looking after him long before that.
I can say that it was his work on the life extension machines of my brothers that aroused my greatest interest.
He and I were talented inventors. He had experience, and I had ambitions, a life coming to an end with an unsatisfactory outcome, and knowledge about Australium accumulated over the years of my research.
The offer was exciting, and I was very convincing, so he could not refuse such an experiment.
Of course, not everything was simple. Radigan was a reasonable and calm man, but an obnoxious stubborn. Which, however, was me too. We were similar in many ways. Unsociable, immersed in thoughts, experiencing difficulties with emotions and their demonstration, falling into an obsession with ideas. . .
We argued about a lot of things, but it always made sense. This expressed a concern for the common cause. There has always been respect between us.
Even if there was enough wariness at first, we got used to each other and got along well, accepting the peculiarities of the other. We could even say that we complemented each other. In a sense, he was a substitute for my conscience.
Tumblr media
Apart from the fear of not being able to finish the machine before my death, the most peaceful time of my life was associated with Conagher. Maybe even the happiest.
I was encouraged by the success. Thoughts of saying goodbye after the completed task disappeared somewhere. There was no end for me anymore and I was sure that everything was still ahead of me. Life should have become more normal, not as hard and humiliating as it was before, but filled with discoveries and achievements. And in these feelings, in the company of another brilliant genius, I wanted to live and create without end.
That's what we were doing. And we have achieved a lot in the scientific field, sharing ideas and developing them one after another. Even if all this was far from the scale I wanted it to be.
Tumblr media
After all, I didn't have the sophistication and wealth of my family that I aspired to. We couldn't realize every idea we had. It was. . . pretty simple. But I can't call this simplicity exceptionally bad.
Tumblr media
I finally got another person's recognition. Not any, but truly the best person I've ever known.
An amazing combination of intelligence, strength, decency and, well, appearance, too, what's there to hide. All this was even before the constant interaction with Australium began to influence him in the most manly way.
Tumblr media
The thought of family no longer bothered me so much, because I felt involved in something. I've never felt like a part of anything before. This feeling came back to me again only when I had a daughter.
In addition to contentment, with Radigan I discovered the sacred. I don't know if he felt the same about me, his shell was much stronger than mine and it was not easy to understand him. But I believe he also thought it was something special.
Alas, Radigan remained an ordinary man and did not want to add more time to himself than he was allotted. In the end, he began to look more like himself again at the time when we first met. With the difference that our relationship has changed significantly. He was silent for a lot, but in him I saw satisfaction from what he had lived.
And then he died. I turned out to be a stranger to his family, and I had to disappear again. In an effort to achieve more, I began to build my own empire, continuing to do science alone. In addition, the search for Australium became a necessity, and therefore I could not relax.
He's gone. But I still cherish this memory. After a while, it only became clearer that he had done more for me than anyone in my entire life.
I've never had such a person before him.
And after him, too.

Leyra || the Albino Na'vi
Tumblr media
(Neteyam x OC)
MASTERLIST/PLAYLIST/PICS
Chapter 2
For the next few weeks, Neteyam watched for Leyra everywhere he went.
Startled by the experience with Toruk Makto's son, she began making herself even more scarce than usual. Her father dropped her off on the ground even before breakfast and she only came back when darkness was about to overtake the forest.
While she was out, she made sure to steer clear of anywhere anyone might find her. In her mind, being alone was the best option. She'd rather be eaten by a Palulukan than live a life of constant judgement.
Neteyam caught glimpses of her white complexion here and there as she came and went. He found himself scanning the tree line during training and hunts, looking for that flash of white. Yet he never found her outside of camp.
No wonder he had not noticed her before their meeting. Most of the time, he wasn't entirely convinced that she was real. Until he saw her scampering off to her marui, or quickly hopping onto her father's ikran before they took off.
Why didn't she want to be around people her age? It appeared that her father was the only one she interacted with. What a miserable life she must live, being isolated from the people all the time.
Once, Neteyam grew too agitated by this idea and tried scouting out the place he had last seen her as well as the surrounding area. Where could one little Na'vi girl possibly go in a forest this big and dangerous? His scout was unsuccessful, and it left him frustrated.
After a couple weeks, she figured that his busy days would have wiped their interaction from his memory and she resumed her regular schedule.
He had not, however, forgotten her, and was delighted to be seeing her around camp a little more. She must be getting over her shyness, Neteyam assumed.
A few days later, Neteyam noticed Leyra's father leaving camp on his ikran unexpectedly, carrying two bowls of food.
Usually, Leyra fed herself lunch from the forest, eating some mixture of vegetation. But today, her father was looking to spend a little extra time with his daughter.
Curiosity grabbed hold of him, and Neteyam followed the man. Did he know where Leyra was spending her days? Neteyam wondered how someone who stands out so harshly could disappear like she has. Silent as an owl, he flew a distance behind the man.
Eventually the man landed at the top of a waterfall and unloaded the two meals. Bidding his ikran goodbye, he made his way to the bottom of the falls before creeping along the small ledge of rock behind the heavy downpour of water. After a few steps along the ledge, he was gone.
What? Neteyam followed the man's footsteps, the gentle spray of mist from the waterfall wetting his skin.
Sure enough, there was an entrance to a cave not far into the ledge. He had to bend down a little to enter.
"And I was telling him that he shouldn't-" The man's words were interrupted by Neteyam's sudden presence.
"Hello, Neteyam." The man greeted, shielding his daughter from view as much as he could subtly manage. "Sorry, is this usually your spot? We can leave, if you want." The man was evidently nervous.
"No, no," Neteyam assured, "I was coming to find Leyra, actually."
The man gave his child a 'what have you done?' look, and she returned the glance with an expression of 'I didn't do anything!'.
"Me? What for?" Leyra forced her voice to steady despite the nerves gnawing at her throat.
"Just to check up, I guess. Make sure you were still alive after spending so much time in the forest alone."
She was very obviously offended. "I've spent years alone in the forest, I think I can-" a peak at her father's expression and she was correcting herself, "I think I can thank you! Very much, for worrying about me. But I am alright, as you can see. No reason for concern. Is there anything else that you needed?"
"Do I need a reason to come see you?"
"No, of course not. I just figured you were busy with your duties, that you had no time for purposeless visits." Her hands were sweating and she wiped them on her top. Why had he come? To spy on her for his grandmother? She had done nothing to stand out lately, and didn't understand what she'd done to catch the Sully family's attention.
"Ah," he sighed in understanding, "I am a busy person."
Her father spoke, "Indeed. You usually have many duties to tend to. You should go eat with your family while you have the time. I'll bet they miss you with you being out all day."
Neteyam took the hint directed at the man's own life and excused himself. Though, not before asking, "Are you here often, Leyra?"
"Sometimes." She replied. She certainly wouldn't be coming back for a while now that perfect warrior boy knew about it.
"Good." He nodded to them both as a goodbye, and returned to the village.
He knew of her spot now. That's why he hadn't seen her from the sky, she had been in a cave. And it was a beautiful cave, too. He could see why she liked it so much.
He planned to return there later when her father was not there. He suspected the man did not want to draw more attention than necessary to his daughter and risk something bad happening to her at the hands of other clan members, so he definitely wouldn't tell Jake about Neteyam's imposing visit.
The day he first met Leyra, Neteyam had asked around if anyone knew of a white Na'vi in the clan. The older ones mostly knew of her, and asked if she was still around after all this time. The younger ones knew about as much as he had.
However, out of all the people he asked, none of them were happy at her mention. A few called her 'a mistake in the bloodline' and demanded that he not bring her up again.
Neteyam couldn't grasp it all. How could a girl so beautiful be forsaken by her own clan-- his clan, the clan he had grown up in-- just because of her unique coloration?
Back in the cave, Leyra's father was digging into her.
"What did you do to attract his attention now? I thought you said he had forgotten about it and left you alone?"
"I don't know what I did! I wish he would just ignore me, but he won't."

人造エネミー Jinzou Enemy - Jin - English Translyrics
「 A song that turns away eyes. 」
"Living a life only doomed to repeat,  When your dreams all fall away, there's no point in remaining the same." Words you paint in lies so they won't fade. One and the same, we crave for a world that’s too far out of reach  Your fingertips that say this to me; Yet your silent voice is all the truth that I need.
The nameless figures you've hidden away,  And yet even then, how you beg for them to stay A love like that, you know there's no way they could feel the same.
Still, that's the way that it goes, so bring one and two more days to a close Bite down your fear like we're still alive* Just close your eyes and sleep ‘til you're fine.
"Ah, how it's all mundane," you scoff again, averting your gaze Even though you know your eyes could never look away... Hey, since it's all ignored, and you won't let those feelings arise Are you going to spend another day glaring, tired empty eyes staring at this lonely me through the screen?
You know this kind of life isn’t what you should do That hurting turning to all you knew To sort through truth and root out all the lies, it’s all hidden far away deeper than you can find
Is this whole world just lying to crumble beneath?** Since you don’t see it, hey, why don’t we Just run away from this broken place, to a non-reality made for you and me?
So why continue with your carrying on when this world is doing nothing but hate and scorn you? Just say 「 Goodbye 」 to it all, and only lie your eyes upon me.
"Ah, truly wonderful," you say, and clap your hands with glee But the lies you weave are slowly flooding down the streets. Hey, if you’ve grown so cold to a point where it’s more than you can bear Tell me why your tired eyes are still glaring, boring through me comparing me to all the lies that you see?
You know this kind of life isn't what you should do Why can't you see that you're breaking too? When all is gone and you're all that remains, close your eyes and turn away from the world that you find Stuck in a darkened room without kindness or light And soon, one day, when the sun will rise You'll hear my cries and resounding within as I break apart and fall out of existence
"No, please, this just can't be! Please, I don't understand!" You stare coldly as I cry, and say, "I'm done with this toy that can only talk, so just leave, I've gotten sick of it all."
———————————————————————— *The lyrics in Japanese don't explicitly mention death, but rather pretending to live, so I took liberties here to convey the story a bit better. For series like Kagerou Project and Shuuen no Shiori, I'm much more likely to take artistic liberties in the lyrics due to my familiarity with the source material in every form it's been adapted. **"Lying" is used throughout the lyrics intentionally, both in its meaning as a non-truth and as in 'laying' in another tense. The repetition of the term I felt fit the nature of this song very well, which is also why you'll find some repetitive terms and mid-line rhymes throughout the entire song.
[It's a concrete plan for me to eventually translate every Kagepro song! This has been my goal since I started writing lyrics several years ago~]

Getting caught by her mother
Shuri x F!reader
Y/n is with riri just hanging out and then shuri finds out that y/n posted pictures of her in a bikini on Instagram and get upset and then “handles” you in her lab and then y/n and shuri get caught by her mother. Request by @malltake12
Tumblr media
"Should I post this" I asked turning my phone so Riri could see the picture. "Holy shit you look hot in that" she said grabbing my phone, "So that's a yes" I said rolling over on the bed so I could look at her. "Give me back my phone what are you doing?" I asked seeing her pressing buttons on my phone, "Sending these to me" she replied smirking and I grabbed my phone from her rolling my eyes playfully.
"What should I caption it with?" I asked "Let me see that" my friend Jo said and I show her the photo "Your not actually posting that are you?" She asked and I furrowed my brow in confusion "What's wrong don't you think it looks good?" I asked and she chuckled "yeah but it looks too good, If shuri sees that she's gonna kill you" she said and Riri hissed her teeth "Who gives a fuck about shuri you look good" she said and took my phone.
"You tagged yourself on my ass" I asked shocked and she smiled "Yes.I.did." she said smirking "Welp y'all are dead I'm running late so I've got to go" Jo said and left. Not even one minute after the photo was posted Shuri started calling me.I turned to Riri and she was laughing, "You know not to let her call more than once answer so I can hear" she said smirking and I answered the called "TAKE.IT.DOWN.RIGHT.NOW!" she said and I smirked "I quite like that photo and according to my comment section so far so does alot of people" I said and she pinched her nose trying to remain calm.
"I'm gonna say it one last time take it down" She said and I decided to test her. I shook my head No and she hanged up the phone. "Your In for a treat later" Riri laughed and I rolled my eyes.
Throught the entire afternoon Shuri didn't text or call me, she hasn't even reply to my text when I told her I needed a ride. I opened my phone and went on Instagram surprised I wasn't getting any more notifications just to see my post was gone. I groaned and started packing my stuffs and I told Riri goodbye.
Arriving home I went straight to our room and threw down my bag and went straight into the only place I knew Shuri would be,Her lab. I walked in and she stopped just for second registering my presence and then she continued doing what she was doing before.
I walked over to whatever she was doing and held it up "Break it and I'll break you" she said and I let it go and crashed to the ground and she got up faster than the speed of light and grabbed my hands "What the fuck Y/N, That's it you've tested my patience" she said and grabbed my waist and lifted me onto the table and I moaned.
She opened the buttons on my blouse exposing my boobs and she held both of them in her hands groping them "I swear the gods spent extra time on every part of you especially your boobs." She said leaving hickeys on them and then moving up to my neck.
"Come on baby what's this all about, have I been neglecting you of attention. Have I not payed her enough attention" she whispered in my ears pressing her palm on my clothed clit. "Shuri" I moaned and she chuckled "of course, your little pussy was doing all the thinking no wonder you've been so bratty" she said moving her fingers to circle my pussy "Shuri please" I begged and she slipped two fingers and I moaned arching into her.
She started quickening her pace and just as I was about to cum she stopped and I whined and she laughed "Oh sweetheart you didn't think I was gonna let you cum did you?" She said laughing and I went to beg when suddenly the doors open.
Kill me kill me now because the Queen just walked in, Oh this is so embarrassing. Shuri stood infront blocking me from her mother and Okoye eyes "Shuri you need-" she started but but stopped when she saw what was happening "Oh" she said and I hid my face in Shuri's back "Well after you guys rap this up I just wanted to let both of you know family dinner is at 9" she said and I gripped Shuri's shoulder "Okay mother you may go now" Shuri said.
"Hopefully you'll be done by then and Please for Christ sake Clean in here after" She said shaking her head and Okoye chuckled "Bye Y/N" the queen said and I waved goodbye, When they left Shuri was dead ass laughing and I hit her shoulder "Let's get you up to my room so I can punish you" she said and I rolled my eyes "Break it and I'll break you remember that, yeah I'm living up to that promise your gonna have to beg me princess"
I hope this was what you were going for ?

CHARACTER INFO SHEET
Tumblr media
NAME.  Wario Scapelli
NAME MEANING.  The name "Wario" is a portmanteau of "Mario"⸺ and the Japanese adjective "warui" meaning "bad"; hence, a "bad Mario", which is also symbolized by the "W" on his hat, an upside down "M".
ALIAS(ES).  As of right now N/A, may change with more RP interactions
SPECIES. Half-Troll // Half-Human ETHNICITY. Primarily Italian, Sicilian, and about 16% German. Italian and Sicilian comes from his mother's side while his father is almost fully Italian but has a little bit of a German bloodline.
Tumblr media
𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐘𝐎𝐔’𝐕𝐄 𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐄.  I. In certain mythologies trolls are known for their shapeshifting abilities. Due to this, and seeing how in the Warioland series Wario is shown to be able to have some sort of shapeshifting qualities, I've always headcanoned him from a very early age as being a troll, or PART troll. I also feel that he looks the part and his need and love for gold could very well be a nudge towards how trolls also have a uncontrollable obsession over treasure//gold.
II. Because Wario is only a half-bred and not a pure-bred troll, he cannot shapeshift on command and it is very limited. He also must have contact; i.e touch, be touched, or get physically hurt from an enemy//thing in order to change his own form. He cannot though appear 100% human and will always have pointed ears and a bulbous nose.
III. Lastly, I always loved in the classical games when Wario was SIGNIFICANTLY bigger and taller than Mario AND Luigi, to the point where they are practically half his height. But I wanted to keep some aspect to how now he's a lot shorter I suppose than he used to be in the modern media. For that, I see that in human standards Wario is seen as really immense and big⸺ BUT for troll standards' for how big trolls typically are, Wario is seen to them as on the shorter side. ( also why to me explains how Waluigi is canonly above 7'0". I feel he is a troll too and its why Wario and him aren't related but still share some visual traits. )
Tumblr media
𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄𝐒 𝐃𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐈𝐑 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄. I. WRESTLING. Not only does Wario love to participate in wrestling, but he also loves watching it on TV. One of his many dreams is to be able to catch front row seats and watch his favorite wrestler(s), Big Bamba and Undertaker, in a fight.
II. DIGGIN' FOR GOLD. Yes, in both aspects WHWUWHAHAAH!!! Everyone knows Wario's forte for searching for gold ⸺ Some of this includes him actively venturing out into mines to see if there is anything left behind to even metal detecting on beaches to see if he can find any valuable goods that way.
III. SNACKING. Wario tends to eat out of boredom to simply craving something and going out his way to get what he desires. Sometimes he will eat even when he's not particularly hungry. Putting this to the side, even when he isn't snacking and just having a. ordinary meal⸺ Wario naturally eats far more than your typical average person does // is supposed to.
Tumblr media
𝐏𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄𝐒/𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐒.  I. He, himself and his MONEY. 𝐓𝐖𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐒. I. Not being able to fully say his goodbyes to Princess Shokora
II. Not sucker punching toad in the throat when he had the chance to... No further comment.
Tumblr media
𝐀 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐁𝐈𝐀 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐇𝐀𝐒. I. DOCTORS. Wario doesn't fear most of anything. Typically, he is shown and known to be one of the most fearless characters in the entire mario-game series. Despite this, the one thing Wario truly hates facing are going to the hospitals. Due to this, he tends to neglect his appointments there and has successfully not gone to a single doctor's visit in over a decade.

CHAPTER ONE. Welcome Back
A Hope Mikaelson x Penelope Park (Henelope) Fic "Don't call me kid, don't call me baby."
Word Count: 2k words
Summary. Inspired by an old tweet I saw just after the second season of Legacies aired. In which Penelope had returned to Mystic Falls after all, only to realise Josie had moved on. Her so-called romance with a forgotten friend is only a ploy to make her ex-girlfriend jealous, never intending to go as far as it does.
A/N. Honestly this is a fic I've wanted to write for a while now. I actually haven't checked, but I imagine Henelope doesn't get a lot of love since they literally interacted twice the entire show lmao. Also please forgive me if some of this is a little inaccurate to the show, it's been a while since my last rewatch of Legacies!
Tumblr media
Penelope wasn’t sure whether it was the circumstances that made her irritated by seemingly everything or if it was just Mystic Falls High. The school receptionist typing away at a computer likely older than Penelope herself, the ticking of a clock prehistoric in appearance.
8:55am, it read. Penelope frowned, it was far too early to be awake, especially while her body was still combating a severe case of jet lag. How long had she been waiting now? The email she’d gotten after enrolling last night had asked her to arrive at the reception at 8:30, it wouldn’t surprise her if they’d just forgotten about her. She contemplated asking the receptionist, who Penelope was about seventy percent certain was playing a flash game instead of actually doing any work.
She didn’t want to be here, pulling at a loose thread on her chair, trying hard to ignore the oddly stale scent in the air that threatened to make her nauseous. Still, this had been the agreement she’d decided on with her parents, she could come back to Mystic Falls without them, but she had to continue going to school - they just hadn’t specified what school.
Never in a million years would she have imagined she’d be going to a public school of all places, but anywhere sounded better than the Salvatore School right now. She couldn’t go back there, not after what had happened last night.
The plan had been to surprise Josie with her return. After the way their goodbye had gone, Penelope had assumed Josie would be thrilled to have her back. Sure, maybe they wouldn’t have gotten back together, but she’d just been excited at the idea of seeing her again.
But seeing her with someone else? With Landon Kirby of all people?
At least they hadn’t seen her, that Penelope had spotted them first. She’d managed to preserve her pride so far, but she wouldn’t have stood a chance if they’d known she’d seen them. That was the only silver lining she could see for now, but she didn’t feel optimistic enough to try and think of any others. It was a shitty situation, nothing could fix it.
Josie had been the only reason Penelope had even returned, wanting to warn her about the Merge, wanting to love her in spite of all her flaws and in spite of Lizzie. Her new school in Belgium hadn’t been so bad after all, designed completely for witches, the only downside it had was that there was no Josie. She was too late, Josie had moved on and there was no way Penelope could go back to the boarding school, she couldn’t stand seeing her and Landon together again.
The worst part was that she had no real place to be angry or hurt; Penelope had already broken up with Josie, long before she’d even left for Belgium, she’d broken her heart first - so this was what it felt like, karma stung more than Penelope would’ve liked.
She’d never actually been broken up with before, or rejected, but she got the feeling her situation with Josie was more painful than any other kind of heartbreak could be. It wasn’t that neither of them cared, Penelope had just messed up and it was too late to fix it.
It was her own fault, she’d caused this.
Penelope had hardly had the time to give much thought to the other girl she’d seen near the mill that night, right after she’d left Josie and Landon. The girl was a student - maybe? - but not one that Penelope recognised, she’d simply chalked her down to being a new transfer, she didn’t look young enough to be a freshman, probably around Penelope’s age.
The girl was the last of her worries though, just as she had been last night. Besides, Penelope doubted that she’d even see her again, she didn’t intend on going anywhere near the boarding school.
“The principal will see you now, Miss Park.” The school receptionist mercifully tore Penelope from her thoughts before she could wallow in any more self-pity.
Penelope nodded, standing up from her seat in the waiting room, boots squeaking as they made contact with the rubber floors. She grimaced at the harsh sound, approaching the door to the headmaster’s office, reading over the newly placed name plate.
‘Principal A. Saltzman’
It didn’t come as a complete surprise to Penelope, she’d known Alaric had taken a job in Mystic Falls High. Perhaps she hadn’t known it was the job of principal, but it made sense, considering he’d been the headmaster at the Salvatore school. Still, that didn’t take away the dreadful awkwardness that she knew would come with having to talk to her ex-girlfriend’s father.
With a near inaudible sigh, Penelope knocked on the door, waiting for permission from the man inside before she entered the office, unsure of what to expect.
“Take a seat, Penelope.” Alaric gestured towards the empty seat across from his side of the desk, hitting the witch with an odd sense of deja vu from her first day at the Salvatore Boarding School. It felt like forever ago now, since she’d first convinced her parents to allow her to move from her home in New Orleans to a small town in Virginia.
Sitting down, Penelope wouldn’t even dare to look Alaric in the eye, out of.. What? Embarrassment? Guilt? She couldn’t pinpoint it exactly, but both seemed to apply. Embarrassed she’d believed Josie would just take her back, guilty they’d even broken up in the first place. Penelope wondered if Alaric knew about Josie and Landon, if the kiss she’d witnessed the night before had been the first of many to come or if they’d been together since Penelope had left for Belgium.
The silence in the room was deafening, as Alaric quietly flicked through his computer screen, likely looking through Penelope’s files from her last two schools.
She wondered if Alaric resented her, for everything that had happened. She’d never had to worry about that when she first broke up with Josie. While he’d been the headmaster at Salvatore’s, there’d been no room for him to take sides and if anything, Penelope wasn’t sure she’d ever seen him take Josie’s side - it was obvious he struggled to balance being a father and a headmaster all at once.
But now, they were in a different school, where maybe he could allow his love towards his daughters to take the forefront more often. Despite her silent disagreements Penelope had towards Alaric, mainly ones that involved him not telling Lizzie and Josie about the merge, she actually liked him. Surprisingly - even to her - she’d actually be quite disheartened if he treated her differently.
Eventually, Penelope cleared her throat, “Why did you leave the boarding school?” She asked, leaning back in her seat. In a way, she was relieved Alaric was her headmaster again, she didn’t feel like trying to suss out a brand new person.
Alaric was too occupied with the computer to look up, although Penelope didn’t take offence, she knew what he was like and it was just nice to have some sense of familiarity after everything that had happened since she’d come back.
“I thought the school would be more suited to a headmaster that can help better than I can.” He explained vaguely after a pause, looking up from the screen in front of him.
She let out a quiet burst of laughter, it had never been a secret that Alaric was ill-equipped when it came to running a school of supernatural teenagers. “You mean someone who’s not a human, right?” Penelope asked, earning a glare from Alaric.
“Penelope.” He began in a hiss, “You don’t know who could be listening.”
Penelope only shrugged in response, although she knew he was right, so she decided not to press any further. Even if she was hurting more than she’d care to admit, she knew throwing the rest of her former classmates under the bus would be unfair. Perhaps the council had stopped vampire hunting years ago, but there was no use in risking it.
“You applied for your enrollment quite late.” Alaric noted, looking up from his screen to shoot her a knowing glance. Maybe this Josie and Landon thing had been going on for a while. “Last night, to be exact. You’re lucky I recognised your name.”
Penelope could only pray that Alaric wouldn’t mention Josie. She wasn’t sure she could handle even the mention of her former girlfriend’s name right now.
She chose not to offer an explanation, to be safe, “So can I still enrol?” Penelope asked nonchalantly, like she had other options. Technically, she could go back to Belgium, but how would she even explain what had happened to her parents? They’d had no idea about her and Josie and for good reason, they never would have approved of the relationship.
Alaric nodded, “You can, but I don’t understand, Penelope.” He answered, finally tearing his full attention away from the computer, resting his arms on the desk he sat at, “You fit in well at the boarding school, you were well liked.. I just don’t see what you gain from coming here instead.”
Shifting uncomfortably in her seat, Penelope sat up straight. “Maybe I want a different experience.” She shot back, just about managing to hold back her sarcasm. She made a point of lowering her voice as she continued, “Besides, it’s not like I need help controlling my magic, I grew up around witches in the French Quarter.”
“And you’re sure there’s not another reason?” Alaric asked, as though he already knew but was just waiting for Penelope to confess the truth.
Penelope nodded in response; a lie that Alaric appeared to see right now.
He paused uncertainly, “Have you spoken to Josie since you got back? I know she missed having you around school.” Alaric commented, a statement that caused Penelope’s heart to sink.
She didn’t want to think about how Josie must’ve felt after she left, their tearful goodbye had been painful enough. She wondered how long it had taken after that for her to grow close with Landon, if he was just a rebound or if Josie really loved him - neither option was preferable.
“No, I broke up with her, remember?” Penelope clarified, feigning disinterest. She almost immediately dropped the act, more so out of shame rather than the fact that she was talking to Josie’s father. He probably didn’t think very highly of her after she broke his daughter’s heart the first time around. “If I see her, I’ll say hi..”
Seemingly satisfied with the answer he’d been given, Alaric momentarily returned his attention back towards the computer, clicking and typing a few times before he spoke, “Then congratulations, Penelope, you’re officially a student at Mystic Falls High.” He announced, not bothering to lace his tone with enthusiasm, he knew it was the last thing Penelope wanted.
With another click at the computer, a sheet of paper appeared from the printer behind Alaric’s desk, the machinery making a soft buzz. He turned around in his chair to grab the paper, handing it to Penelope. “This has your timetable and your locker number.” He stated, pointing towards each area where the necessary information was located.
Taking the paper in her hands, Penelope quickly skimmed over the information, enough to know that her first lesson of the day was History. She nodded, “Thanks, Alaric.” Penelope acknowledged.
“That’s Mr Saltzman to you.” Alaric corrected her half-heartedly. He shook his head, knowing that she wouldn’t listen, Penelope had been too close to Josie and the rest of the Saltzman family - excluding Lizzie, of course - to even consider Alaric an authority figure. “Just be careful what you call me around the other students.”
Penelope nodded again, humming in amusement as she stood up from her seat. “Yeah, sure.” She mumbled, gathering her things and folding up the sheet Alaric had given her, “I guess I’ll see you around then."
For the first time during the entire exchange, Alaric offered Penelope a smile. Strangely enough, Penelope found it reassuring, easing nerves she didn’t know she had about her first day, “Good luck today.” He said, “And welcome back to Mystic Falls.”

This was my twenties, an entire decade gone just like that.
For some funny reason when I started, I didn't think I'd get this far. Thirty definitely seemed like a lifetime away but here I am. After going through some of the toughest and sweetest times in my life I'm closing this chapter for good.
Sometimes I'd wonder what past me would think about the person I am today, would she be okay with the outcome or would she wish for something different? Would I have changed anything if I knew what was going to happen? The past decade has definitely been a learning curve, I think it was mainly discovering myself and knowing that other people too are on this journey is very humbling. Albeit not everyone goes at the same pace and some never do find themselves.
If I can say anything is my fiery side doesn't crop up nearly as often as it used to but that doesn't mean the flame has died. I've come to be a little more wise when choosing my battles because time isn't infinite or at least it isn't in this life. I'm only here for a small while so I might as well get the best out of it. Learning to channel my energy where it really counts is something I've gotten comfortable with.
Over the course of my twenties I've battled obesity, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, self doubt, and moments of weakness. I've also achieved some great things for myself. I've gotten DIVE just about finished (it's currently sitting at almost 650 pages), I've improved greatly as an artist, got better at cooking/baking, picked up powerlifting and have gotten decently strong, and I'm happier than I've ever been. Progress is not always linear but the main thing is to keep pushing, even in my lows there was still something to cherish and appreciate.
My twenties have been about pushing my comfort zone and learning to swim with the tide rather than feeling like I'm drowning. It's been tough but without hardship I wouldn't be me. Spite the hell I went through I don't think I'd change how everything happened. Every one and everything had something to provide with the time and the place that they were for me regardless of if the experience was positive or negative.
There's been a lot that's come and gone in my journey - people, places. Having found a life long romance deepen to saying my final goodbye to a handful of people that have passed away, it's been very bittersweet. My twenties certainly has been riding the hurricane through to the other side, even passing through the eye not knowing what else is to come other than I have to weather the storm. I've burned more bridges than I can count but the one thing that hasn't wavered is my moral integrity.
That's probably the biggest thing I've achieved over the past decade. I know who I am and where I'm going with myself. I may not know entirely what the future holds but I've got a guideline written up for myself on the goals I want to accomplish over the next decade. I may never be perfect but it doesn't mean that I can't try to be the best version of me that I can.
It's a good feeling knowing that I've crossed off some major things on my goal list. I've completely mellowed over the course of the past few years especially, my twenties definitely have held some of the hardest mental battles I'm sure I'll ever face. The inner turmoil of leaving things unsaid, having to walk away when necessary is something that's an underrated skill but it's something I've had to learn.
All in all I’m happy to move forward with the next chapter of my life, although I’ll never forget the memories I made over the past ten years. There were absolutely some great highlights that I’m sure I’ll probably mention at some point.
Onward and upward.
Cheers to thirty.
