While I've mentioned this before, but holy moly, sometimes I get so surprised at how small the world can be; of all instances that we can meet again thanks to the littlest of clues. Nothing like vibing yet again with a dear friend after so long!

Just like how we started off back (almost) a decade ago with our muses at the time, hardly anything changed with our ooc dynamic. This time though, brains went ultra instinct with the outpouring of ideas that led to an entire JLCU (Jude Law Cinematique Universe) that started with Xenia, Bad End, 2.5, Bad End Bureau Boys or constalelations, to having its own AU thru our current brainrot of MSX2G.

Of course, time doesn't account with how much friends and rp partners vibe, but even if we've been doing our own thing for YEARS, we just went all out as if time didn't pass at all! Not to mention I love Xillia and Jude so much, when I haven't even played the games at all (yet). That's one of my favorite things about writing and plotting in general!

Anyway, wow. I am so thankful for just having met you, even all those years ago (Jude Law quote moment [cries HAHA]); during quite the crucial turning point in life (uni), and making it super fun. And now, I've been working for a while, adulting or whatever, but living the life, and having fun in writing/plotting thanks to our adventures together. Thank you for being an awesome and supportive friend in general, not just as a fantastique writing partner.

we really did randomly run into each other again in the vast sea that is dumblr rp 2k23. whenever i remember that i'm also like, how on earth :judesurprisedpikachuface:? that's no small feat... just straight up crazy and amazing LMAOO gotta thank fate and tales of xillrise for this, aside from us just doing our thing. sometime after making jude, i just remember looking for more blogs, coming across yours, liking what i saw, reading your rules and pages like "why does the tone of everything here sound so familiar- wait, 'SHAI'? IS THAT GON ON THE ROSTER?! HOLD THE FUCKIGN PHONE THIS CAN ONLY MEAN ONE THING-" i really had to do a triple take, because the realization hit me so hard that i was actually like "please, i hope i'm not just seeing what i want to see-" 🤣🤣 but holy crap, it was you!! and just the relief/joy i felt after that (not an au version, inb4 jude law different timeline meme jk)

and yea more than a decade since the earlier uni days, it's so wild how it's been that long T_T i always say i should've come back earlier- i wish that i did and it's something i feel sorry for, but in the end i'm just glad i decided to do so- and especially how we've managed to pick things back up again, just how we were before, almost like time doesn't mean anything. you're so right about that. some things never change, you know? Ohohoho where do I start? Like, even when I hadn't watched T&B in a while (like the last one I've watched was The Rising movie way back), but with our convos I feel like I'm quick to catch up again haha. As soon as I saw your Kotetsu muse, I'm like :eyes and sparkles emoji: and I love your writing and portrayal of him so much; it's as fun and the closest feeling to describe your writing is the enjoyment and happiness I have whenever I put on "Orion wo Nazoru" in repeat ehehe. As for Leia aaaaa like Law meeting her for the first time, my interest and curiosity were piqued and became eager to get to know her! But now, it's safe to conclude that I love her so much and if ever one day I go get the opportunity to play Xillia, I'd just associate Leia with YOUR muse and not the other way around. //ooc. Shai, haha. Thank you for sending me this. It's made my day a bit better, having to read this. I'd love to write more other muses with you; I'm only familiar with a handful of them, to a surface level, but I'm always open to learn about other people's muses as we write. I think I just have a lot of feelings for Kotetsu at this point besides attraction, he's a great man despite all odds and I'd like for people to know him for who he is besides what he show others. I'm glad to have the opportunity to write with your Law, it's been a hot minute since I've played Arise, but I don't feel the need to 'cause yours feels so in touch with his character that I can hear his voice in your written dialogues. Even though we're way ahead in our plotting, I hope we can keep doing so 'cause it's a real joy talking to you and stuff.

Does your muse like to dance? Would they dance with another?

It is, unfortunately, not something Astor often finds he has time for, but it is something he has a bit of a secret adoration for - more the part of sharing a quiet, intimate moment with someone he cares for than the stately, showy kind of dancing, in particular. It's one of the things he's sort of allowed himself to romanticize in his head, something he'd consider so domestic after the many stressful demands of being a Warrior of Light. And it's those kind of small moments he silently aches and craves for under the constant pressure to save the world, again.

If god hands me a context in which him and Gaius can share a dance, I will absolutely lose my mind. I'm very much about it and I want them to stare across the room at each other and for Astor to hopelessly blush because he's an idiot and still something of a clueless maiden when it comes to love. Right down to the fact that he'd actually delight in the excuse to wear something pretty and dressy and. Just actually a dress. He might distress for bells about anyone taking such a long time to do something like a full Fancy Affair treatment on him, but he'd also... secretly love it. And he’d also be absolutely flustered if some stranger asked him to dance. He’s maybe been a Warrior of Light for several years now, but he is no more used to the fame and recognition than he was in the early days when the biggest problem they had was fiery lizard primals.

He has learned at least an understanding of the martial art of a Dancer from his adoptive daughter and fellow Warrior of Light, Kiana, as it is one of her main combat specialties, though Astor will say his talents remain more firmly in the magical and arcane than physical.

In a completely different timeline/version of events in which he is very happily with my friend's lovely Eden Azaela (@eden-azalea), I will not be swayed from the fact that they dance and sway in their kitchen together and absolutely delight in it because the theme of desiring those small, intimate moments away from the constant battle is common in both editions and they are inCREDIBLY soft and I love them. uwu.

And, as if I haven't gone on enough, I've been thinking so much about Shay lately, and it is the month of elves, so he gets to feature, too. Being raised in Ishgard, Shay is familiar with the idea of dancing in such circles as one would find the High Houses, but, for the longest time, had no reason to after leaving his life in Ishgard far behind him. If asked, Shay would say it's not really his thing and would brush off the idea that he could outright. But a certain banquet did allow him at least one dance with his soulmate before it all went to shit, and she was pleasantly surprised to find he could dance quite well. Now, if the world would be so kind as to allow him another opportunity that does not end with him being accused wrongly of regicide... He would consider it. Only for Airi, though.
