So I found out that besides beating the absolute tar out of Jason, Bruce also dragged him back to Ethiopia to relive his traumatic death/revival in hopes of finding a way to bring back a recently dead Damian[???]

Mind you, I absolutely hate thinking about how abusive Bruce is towards his kids and would rather pretend he’s a parent who tries, you know? But fuck if that cursed kernel of knowledge spark an idea:

There’s been a couple of fics that play with the idea that forcing a ghost to relive their death is a major taboo in the Ghost Zone, severely punishable and all that jazz.

Now it’s the aftermath [however that was, Idk], peeps are probably rejoicing over Damian’s revival [right?] and Jason’s most likely somewhere, you know, coping I assume. 

Until Walker is knocking on their door and demanding their presence to the Court of the Dead [Don’t remember if it had a name, this sounded pretty cool lol] stating that Batman’s presence is required to receive his sentence.

As all things are when it comes to Walker, he doesn’t give them a choice.

Jason’s call comes a bit more peacefully, mind you, but given it’s an eyeball, it probably wasn’t much better.

Cue Jason poofing onto some chair in some courtroom, thinking he’s the one in trouble, cue Batman poofing in that giant glass cage [You know, the one Vortex was stuck in upon his intro]

Everyone, predictably, are unarmed.

Jason is unsure what to feel at the sight of them.

Walker in all his weird size shifting glory, steps forward to loom over Bruce, large book in hand and sneering down at the human trapped before him, “Bruce Thomas Wayne, alias Batman, founding member of the Justice League, you’ve been summoned to the Court of the Dead to receive your sentence.”

“On what charges?”

Walker’s sneer deepened, “On what charges?, he says.”

The book in his hands quickly sift through pages, one after the other until it comes to a stop, popping up in a screen for all to see its contents, Death’s Echo, the chapter title says.

“Why, you’ve committed the ultimate taboo, human. Victim of the Echo: Jason Peter Todd, alias Red Hood alias Robin II, date of birth August 16th, 1993, date of death April 11th, 2008, date of awakening October 27th, 2008. Date of the crime d/m/y.

You’ve forced a ghost to relive their death, violated the peace of their core, potentially destabilizing a ghost’s existence. Upon Death’s Sermon, or for the betterment of your puny human understanding: You broke a law, a law punishable by termination.”

“He’s not dead.” Despite what become of their relationship, all the bloody conflicts that have followed, Bruce can’t stand the idea of Jason dying. 

One of the many eyeballs that seem to take up the majority of the court, steps - ahem! floats - forward, and despite lacking any other facial features, gives him what is noticeably a look Alfred would give him when he’s being particularly bull-headed, “That is irrelevant. The boy still carries the mark of death with him, therefor is still a denizen of the Infinite Realms, therefor still falls under our jurisdiction.”

“And all rights to the Court’s defense.” Walker adds, closing the book in his hand with a pointed snap, “You’ve been out ruled, punk.”

The batfam are looking around them as the entire room full of ghost clamor for Bruce’s termination, angry and indignant alike.

Tim - despite all his years of training - panics and doesn’t think twice before standing from his seat and calling the large ghost’s attention, ignoring Dick’s frets, “And where’s your evidence? Where are your witnesses to back up these claims, do you even have any?" 

The sudden silence is almost smothering, and Jason can’t help but watch as all eyes turn to the boy in question.

In all honesty, he doesn’t know how to feel about all this, about Bruce being charged for what basically amounts to torture in these creatures’ eyes, not even over the fact that he still seems to be considered dead. 

"For a genius, for a detective, you don’t seem to know much about death, do you?”

The ghost all seem to straighten at the sound of the voice, almost like they’re a classroom being called to attention. Despite its calm volume, it carries throughout the whole room, demanding everyone’s attention, their respect.

The bats immediately zero in on the source, a large chair big enough to be considered a throne sits in the first floor, enshrouded by shadows, the lighting of the room doesn’t seem to touch it at all, only lit by the green flame of a crown. Showing them measly impressions of a man’s face. 

The man stands, steadily walking forward till he’s standing in the light. He’s tall, broad, looks about Bruce’s age, and is donning black armor. His presence fills the whole room.

He bothers Bruce only a glance as he passes him before he fixes his attention back on the boy. 

“Now I know you’re not naive, Tim Drake. Death is everywhere, no matter how seemingly clean, no matter how peaceful, there’s no place on this planet death hasn’t touched; death is my domain, I see and I hear the voices of those who have passed - do you know what that means?”

“You have eyes everywhere.” Tim concluded, uneasy in what this might mean.

“I do. Now I can show you and your siblings the whole event, but for the sake of Jason’s continued peace of mind, I will not. Point stands: This is not a trial, Timothy, this is a sentence - your father does not get defendants or supposed witnesses to offer evidence of his supposed innocence, there isn’t any.”

Tim doesn’t know what to feel when the man turns his attention towards Jason, who despite the harrowing experience, has remained utterly silent throughout the whole endeavor. Jason despite his mass and his known capabilities, looks meek under the ghost’s attention, bracing for whatever he might say.

It’s off-putting.

“I have eyes and ears everywhere, detectives, that very much includes the victim in question. Now Jason, I want you to answer me honestly, and I promise you that you’re safe here, can you do that?”  

Jason’s eyes swept over the whole room, glancing at his siblings before stopping on Bruce, still silent, still ever brooding and angry, before offering a small shrug in response, “I guess.”

“Did he force you to relive your death and subsequent revival?”

“………He did.”

Jason thought it was a chance to join in on a collaborative mission, all hands on deck and all that jazz, hoping for reconciliation, to mend things.

“Did you give your consent on the matter?”

He just wanted to move on, to leave all that anger and resentment, all that pain, behind him. He thought Bruce wanted the same, but apparently not, Bruce didn’t seem to care about what he was asking of him, he just wanted some chance to get his son back.

Like Jason never mattered.

Jason offers a small shake of head in response, trying to ignore the way everyone stared at him, “No.”

The man gives him a reassuring smile, bowing his head in gratitude and Jason only feels relieved to be rid of the attention as the king looks towards the rest of the family

“Lucky for you, however, Bruce is still very much human. So he won’t be facing termination,”

“Your highness -” A swift hand silence the skull faced ghost

They don’t relax, they can tell there’s more to the offered appeasing.

The family sits in silence as this kings dishes out Bruce’s punishment. 

Any further interaction Batman has will be on Jason’s terms, he will not seek Jason out, he will not make demands, he will certainly not impose his will on him.

Along that, he is no longer permitted to step foot in Crime Alley and anywhere else that might be considered Jason’s territory [haunt, they called it haunt, it felt daunting being showed the ghostly significance in it.] without expressed permission. If there’s a moment in time where Batman’s presence suddenly becomes unwanted, Jason apparently possesses the power to evict him.

Bruce is stripped of any sort of control he might’ve had over his wayward son. The court is in Jason’s favor for once, it seems.

Batman is not allowed to use anyone else in his favor. 

Bruce Wayne certainly isn’t exempt from these demands. The Ghost King seems to know them very well [Eyes. Everywhere] and seemed to be prepared for them to seek out any loopholes.

Any attempts to disregard these demands and he will be guarded. Heavily. By shadows, and by his very own ghosts.

The ghost king derives a lot of pleasure in informing Bruce that his parents never left his side, watched his struggles, watched his successes, his relationships with partners and children alike. 

Jason almost wants to say it seems cruel to throw in Bruce’s face the disappointment his parents feel in Bruce’s…..less stellar parenting methods.

He’s still trying not to think about the fact everyone is apparently being haunted by the souls of the people most important to them.

Bruce remains utterly silent, looking for all the world like the weight on his shoulders has double, troubled as the time pressed on, until he utters.

“And how long will this sentence be?”

“Until you both can completely trust - no wait, scratch that, Jason already trusted you, had faith in you, something of which you had no remorse in taking advantage of. No, until you learn how to trust him.”

The bats try not to wince at that.

Why is this date circled? It would be Oct. 25 in 2024, which has no significance. 29th in 1993 (when he gets springlocked) , nothing. I’m not even bothering to check 1983/87 because there’s no way Into the Pit takes place during those, though idk WHEN Into the Pit takes place. But I’m curious as to why this date in particular is important. It doesn’t line up with any game releases or Into the Pit release so idk.

"Excessive Force" (1993) review

Bc ya girl finally got her fingies on a DVD and was able to watch it in more than 6 pixels 😌

I don’t care what the haters say- I am so very completely HERE for the hair and the earring 👏🏻

The fact I went into this the first time not knowing he wrote it until the opening credits and SCREAMING

Speaking of the writing, overall, I appreciate his attempts at humor and the good twist near the end, but at the same time hon WHY were you writing stuff like Terry’s dating a model (with NO personality or reason to be there- guess even he’s not immune to “men writing women” smh 😔😆) and “It’s game time, baby” making me absolutely cringe myself away AAAAAAAGGGGHHHHH 😤

But I might forgive him anyway bc **that one scene** (if you know you know); you have to be at least a bit of a kinky motherfucker to write smth like that and you can’t convince me otherwise 👀🫠

Plus the top-tier kitten content- in this house we love a man who loves cats

i know Susie has a school id where it says the year 1993 - 1994 therefor she would be a senior in 1996 but I do not care. Susie is still a 16 year old and a sophomore in my eyes. I don't know how but to me it's not fun where they are all the same age and besides most people who Susie is 18 are kind of creepy.

I love spending a whole 25 minutes of my morning writing a response, and then having it completely delete itself before I could hit post !!! It's so much fun !!! I totally don't wanna cry or anything !!! Lol anyway-

God yeah, I honestly just completely disregarded that part of the ID :o) Like her last name and natural hair color? Cool ! But the dates,,, Nahhh I don't think so! Like, I get *why* BHVR had to age her up (I believe they had to do it with the canonical 17 year old fellas from Licensed shit as well), but eughgjdlkfs it's still annoying as hell. I just wanna know why video games have different... Standards (?) compared to books and movies, if that makes sense? Especially considering that she's a *Killer* (so no violence is done to her), and not a Survivor enduring the shitty events of the Trials. I dunno, it just feels dumb to me.

There's just something about the idea of this diverse friend group of teens (age, background, etc) that's just really intriguing to me? Like imagining how they all interacted Pre-Fog (both in and out of school) as well as how participating in the Trials effects each of them/their motives for actively following the Entity's orders. I dunno, I feel like if they were all the same age (still all younger than Frank considering that he was the oldest at Julie's party), it just wouldn't be as interesting to me. You can just mess around with the dynamics a lot more, and also it just makes a lot more sense for her to be younger than the other three story wise, or at least in the way I write her ig.

You can bounce around this idea by saying that Frank was 19 when he actually arrived to Ormond or when he met the rest of the Legion, and not when he got taken into The Fog, meaning that he'd be roughly 21-22 in the end instead, but ehhhdlfksj idk ? It kinda takes the fun out of the whole concept of this rebellious group of teens who drank and smoked n all that stuff (I'd like to mention that Alberta's drinking age is 18 when bringing point this up). Also I feel like it just opens a whole 'nother can of inconsistency worms unless you played around with their Lore a LOT. Like obviously you can work with their Lore however you please, I'm not gonna stop ya considering how much I've personally rewritten n' whatnot (mainly for consistency, but still)! It's just personally not for me, but you do you, boo 😘

And oh yeah, agreed, I find that a lot people use the "But she's 18!!!" to their advantage... Like,,, Fine, sure, whatever, but it still rubs me the wrong way seeing gross shit of her considering the fact that she was most likely originally a sophomore (aka roughly 16). Like again, BHVR backpedaled like they usually do and changed some lore yet again, so technically these people off the hook (ha), but I still get bad vibes from it. There's SOOOOOO many other characters, both Survivors and Killers, that you're free to do whatever your little heart desires with. But Susie? Please just leave her be :( I personally get uncomfy with that stuff with all of them tbh, especially since they're still high school students (Frank and Julie I'm more lenient with since they're my age), but that's just me ig. If Daddy BHVR says they're legal, then I guess people can just do whatever.

I will also take this time to say that I don't personally enjoy violence against minors (whether they're super young or on the verge of adulthood)! I find it interesting to see what drives these characters to do what they do, but I don't like seeing them in any gross situations, including extreme violence/gorey shit (like on the Final Destination end of the scale, if that makes sense). I'll never include any shit like that in my personal work, including both art and writing (my art is a lot more lighthearted, but my writing, although generally SFW, does sometimes include gore n shit). Just thought I'd throw this out there!

ALSO I'D LIKE TO ADD SOMETHING THAT DRIVES ME NUTS AS WELL !!! Julie, yeah? Her first cosmetic, Suspended, is quite literally under the Collection Name "Fairview Senior", along with Frank's (I still personally believe them to be a grade apart, but I thought I'd add that as well). But then,,, Saturday Slasher (aka the Bush Party recolor) is,,, Under "Sophomore Jitters" ????? What ????????????? Why ??? For what reason ??? Like they were literally released 4 years apart, just make a new collection or add it to a different one that MAKES SENSE ??? Whatever ig, I don't come to DBD for consistent Lore anymore (or anything consistent, considering how much they've fucked up with Julie and Susie's models lmfao, that's a whole other rant for another day), but it still drives me nuts :o)

Again, I'd like to clarify that a lot of my personal views on this subject are very related to how I, Miss Cherry Haysprite, your local Frank/Julie enthusiast, personally interpret the lore! Their lore is so damn inconsistent that at this point I've just given up trying to figure out what's actually canon or not (maybe the comic will fix some of this, but honestly I feel like it might make things more messy), so I just go along with whatever I think fits and respect everyone else's interpretation! Honestly, one of my favorite parts about Fanon Legion are the different interpretations and how people enjoy writing them, whether or not I actually like said interpretations or not! They're just a fun group of characters to work with and I love seeing how people prefer writing them, especially compared to my own thoughts and ideas! I'm just one person with her own lil spin on things :3c I just personally wish there was more consistency and less backpedaling in the Canon that we do have :( But again, what can ya do lmfao

mean girls (2004) ― not to date myself (i say genuinely not caring that i'm about to be 35), but i was in high school when this came out so obviously it's a pick.

napoleon dynamite (2004) ― one of the first movies kris and i watched together, but i loved it when it first came out, too. pretty much my humor exactly; i definitely owned a p.h.s. physical education t-shirt that i probably got from hot topic.

scream (1996) ― the horror movie of all time, i will not take criticism or comment. my friends and i were obsessed with this movie growing up and even called each other "stu" and "billy" (i was billy).

the cabin in the woods (2011) ― the second horror movie of all time, it's just so good. we love a black comedy horror film. inspired my "murky waters" fic.

hocus pocus (1993) ― the quintessential halloween film of my childhood. i watch it (and the previous two) every single fall.

the devil wears prada (2006) ― listen. i genuinely don't know what it is about this movie (probably meryl streep's performance) but a good 80% of the time when it's on tv, i'll watch it.

jurassic park (1993) ― this is one of my dad's favorite movies that he made sure i watched when i was a kid, and it became one of my favorites. it will forever be connected to him long after he's gone.

finding nemo (2003) ― my favorite pixar film. ngl, i think the main reason i connect with this movie as much as i do is because my dad was, for all intents and purposes, a single parent, and to see the love of a father (rather than a mother) for his child depicted in a major kids' movie, even via animated fish, meant more to me than i realized when i was younger.

wall-e (2008) ― my second favorite pixar film. it has such a poignant message and wall-e is adorable. one of the only movies that has ever really made me cry.

the holiday (2006) ― idk why, but this is the one movie i really look forward to watching during the holidays. it's just cozy.

Just a third person’s point of view

1st September, 1991.

Them meeting each other in the train was just as normal as meeting every other day. Their families had close bonds and so the children were also tolerable towards each other. 

1st September, 1992.

This time they were seen off by only their mothers. The children went and sat down in a compartment avoiding all the sneaky, git- like gryffindors. Of course they’d been taught the meaning of ‘blood purity’ and they took it seriously. Second year came by and went.

1st September, 1993.

The year when puberty takes you on a ride. His hair were falling from the sides. He had parted his hair, no gel, he was a bit taller and had started to wear his tailored black suits to complete the image of being a Malfoy. She had grown tall too. She had started wearing earrings more often and wearing long, light greenish dresses to keep up with her name and reputation in the wizarding world. This year they had started to talk a lot more. Being in the same houses was an added bonus to them. Their family was just as happy and them being in a euphoric stage of experiencing boys and girls and doing activities which were frowned upon by some. 

One day, after coming back from the library, Draco saw her going to Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom. She has tear stains on her face. She was obviously crying and had decided to wash her face since she didn’t want Draco to see her like that. Too bad he did. 

He followed her acting like some crazy stalker without calling her name. Just walking briskly silently.  

When she entered the bathroom, she walked over to the sink and washed her face. She grabbed a face towel from the side of the basin and looked up only to see Draco with a concerned look. He had tried to ask her what was wrong but she didn’t budge at all. He thought he had heard her mutter, “some stupid git told ‘em I was sleeping around”.

Turned out someone had. He beat them to a pulp the next day for hurting his “angel” as he started to call her. 

1st September, 1994.

The yule ball. They had gone together. They were fair dancers to be honest. Their friends had been out with their dates from different houses to which upon hearing they only scoffed and said, “isn’t she a muggle-born” or ,“isn’t he a squib like creature”. 

She had worn a soft green champagne dress down to her heels. With a simple pearl necklace Draco had gifted her and an ancestral watch along with black heels that complemented her oh so wonderfully. Her hair was all shiny and let down just like normal school days.

Draco looked dapper in his dress robes. He was wearing a white-button up shirt with a light pink bow, an all black coat with shiny black shoes. His hair was parted to one side with no gel. 

They had danced and drank so much that day. They were just a little bit tipsy but still sober enough to walk themselves to their dormitories. Draco tried holding her hand to which she didn’t realize what was happening. He thought his hands were clammy and excused himself from the dance floor. Just as he walking out of the great hall, she walked hurriedly after him and held his hand and asked him to stay back. He did. He was just imagining his hands were clammy. 

That night several witches and wizards were in other beds. Not specifically their own. Girls in boys’ beds and Boys and girls’ beds. 

The effects of the drinks were wearing off. And now they were fully sober. They were holding hands and walking down to the dungeons to sleep in their own beds but Salazar had other plans for them. 

They were walking silently, holding hands when she stopped in her tracks and said, “Draco, stop”.

“Why angel? What is it?”.

She was fumbling and fidgeting with her hands when he pulled her closer to him.

“Angel is this fine ?“

“Uh yes, this is what i wanted- i mean yeah this is wonderful no this is fine no that’s not what i meant i thought -. Let me just start over. Can i kiss you?“

“Angel, yes.“

He put his one hand on her lower back the other one cupping her jaw well. She held onto him as if her life depended on him. She had placed her hands on his face and kissed him tenderly. 

Once he broke the kiss they smiled at each other. They kissed again. Pulled from the kiss and kissed again. This happened so many times and as they got lost into each other, they didn’t even realize she was in his dormitory. His friends were somewhere else to which he was so thankful for. 

They were both lying on his bed. She was wearing a black shirt which he borrowed her. She wasn’t wearing any lowers. She just felt comfortable like that and this was Draco. Her friend?. He was wearing his usual emerald green joggers. He didn’t wear a shirt to sleep that day for some reason as she kept on blushing while looking at him and hearing his response with his signature smirk plastered on his face, “Like what you see angel? I mean I know I’m beautiful. But nothing and no one compares to you of course.” 

“Well thank you Draco.“

“I want you. Your love, your pain, your sadness. I want all of you and of course a few treats here and there.“ She laughed so loudly at the latter part he felt satisfied for the night and the days to come. 

“Only if you’re willing to share yours. Treats included Draco Malfoy.“

Ops. idk about "unhinged" but thanks to advice me about that one. I'm trying to chek out all his filmography and i've seen some ones that didn't look pretty interesting to me, so i just was wondering about your personal taste in orden to make more easy to choose the nexts ones to watch. "A beautiful mind" is absolutely one of his best actings. Every time I've seen this movie I've cried. Very good film. But my fav of him is Master and Comander, for his acting and for the movie in itself. I think the second one is 3:10 to Yuma, i was socked by the charisma he irradiates in this movie, and the film is one of the most entretaining westerns i've seen.

The worst for me, by the moment, was Noah, i just can't watched it till the end, not for him but for the movie, i think is pretty bad, i cant watch a biblical movie with all that sofisticted effects in where the character of Noah appears wearing jeans… But yeah, i'm totally with you, i think, saving some exceptions, this man have a pretty good list of roles on his name. And his movies are are pure entertainment cinema (in the best sense), he always plays a charismatic roles that stick me to the screen. I think he is propably one of the best actors alive.

I think the next i'm gonna see is that one in where he is doing some kind of stuff with horses (ican't rememeber de name now lol.)

I actually wrote a review on Noah for my class at the time, but I cannot find it so I don't know what my concrete thoughts were on it.. I understand your opinion on it though. Sometimes I see behind the scenes photos of Noah and I can't help but think: "Oh, that was a... look." And 3:10 to Yuma is definitely one of his best! I'm kinda hoping the movie that he's working on right now will be good again though - that one looks amazing when it comes to the script.

Given how Dana and Jack were aware that Steph had a baby do you think it was Steph or Tim who told them?

Ooooooooo! Good question, good question! I wrote a fic where Jack essentially found out himself, all part of the 'my son is lying to me constantly' schtick, but he didn't actually care about Steph's pregnancy itself, just how in relation to it being another thing Tim hides from his parents.

In canon? Wooft. If we use her conversation with Cass as precedent, then if Stephanie did tell Jack and Dana it would have been very blase. Maybe Jack and Dana think wooft but also that's none of my business? and thank goodness it was a closed adoption?

If Tim had told them it would have been much more serious. Would he have said the baby was why he returned to Gotham whilst they were in Keystone? Would he have explained that he took her to lamaze classes? That he only found out a week after they started dating? That they've been dating for nearly a year before he decided to introduce her? The baby just opens up a can of worms that answers nothing and just creates more questions.

Tangentially related, I think Jack would have been relatively fine with it, Dana less so. Neither would verbally disapprove, but we know Dana thinks of it more often.

Like, to give Jack like the absolute basic lowest bar possible of credit, he did not seem particularly convinced by Dana's slightly 'if she has baby she a dirty person' line of thinking in Robin #124

Robin (1993) #124 "Do you think it's that girl, Stephanie, he likes? She had a child out of wedlock - while she was still a kid herself. Is she a bad influence? "Could be. I suppose." "She's so wordly and Tim's so - not. He's such a trusting innocent boy, she could be luring him into all kids of mischief. Jack, do you think Tim's still a virign?"

These lines from Dana are so cringe they make me want to melt into the ground. Not only due to the fact that she acknowledges that Stephanie was a child when she got pregnant and yet calls her a bad influence and saying it was out of wedlock (of course it was out of wedlock she was FIFTEEN Dana); not only due to the fact that she clearly has no clue who Tim actually is and is just rattling off aspects of his personality which are built on lies; not only due to the invasive way of pondering a teenager's sex life... but it's just the way she's trying to pass the blame onto someone else. Like oh no, it couldn't be Tim, the girl has lead him astray as if he isn't making his own decisions and Stephanie is literally shown on the next page unable to get him to make out with her on a park bench.

Robin (1993) #124 "Ooh, look. A park bench. We could get into some inspired public nacking, which I've dearly missed doing for far too many days now." "Sorry, Steph. I guess I'm just not in the mood today."

Oh yeah. Really leading him astray there. Like what influence does this girl hold over Tim? Cause it ain't the power of female wiles I can say that much. He's too busy angsting about the rotting guy's head he punched off the other night. Idk. Reads very much like one of those mum's who complain about their son's lives being ruined because of the 'actions' of a young woman. Boys will be boys etc., etc. Like Dana was better than Jack perhaps, but she still is not a good parent at all.

Point is, Jack's response is not exactly jumping on the same bandwagon. Doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who'll jump straight to 'it's the bloody woman's fault', it's just kind of humouring Dana.

So... I think, to be fair to Jack, whomever told him, he wouldn't have minded so much. 'Accidents happen!' (Yikes). But I also think Tim is more likely to have told his parents. I don't even think it's something they would have done together as a pair. Honestly, I think Stephanie avoids the subject like the plague for a reason, and Tim wants to be the one to speak for her and protect her from judgement if need be. But that's just my headcanon!

Genuinely why are people being so biphobic in your inbox. I don't know anything about comics but attacking you for seeing yourself or your experience as a bi person in a character and saying they don't count as rep bc they're in a m/f relationship is??? Backwards?? It's obvious biphobia. I agree that sometimes companies are more willing to put bi characters in stuff vs gay characters because then they can "appear" straight, but the key word in that is APPEAR. And attacking bisexuals for liking the rep they get isn't going to solve the actual problem—that companies like to appear progressive while also seeming like they're not to people who aren't "in the know" so that they can also sell to conservatives. Like the technic companies use is to say a character is lgbt+ and then never show it, but this isn't exclusive to bi people. Companies like Disney will confirm it in promotion but never do anything more than a wink and a nod to it—and this includes gay characters. The problem isn't bi people or characters, it's rainbow capitalism. Its just that bi characters get subjected to this more bc their queerness has more opportunities to be invisible. And honestly, if the character is having a whole coming out arc, it doesn't seem like they're just sweeping it under the rug. Though again, I don't read comics so idk on that.

While I know a lot of comics people follow me, a decent amount of people following me do not know about comics so to explain the basics of the situation at DC with Tim Drake right now:

Between June and August this year Tim had a three part story (one part per month, in Batman: Urban Legends #4-6) about how he suddenly broke up with his girlfriend Stephanie Brown (who has been an on/off love interest for him since the 90s, they'd most recently been together since 2016) off-panel because of some inner conflict he'd been feeling but wasn't sure how to deal with, and then reunited with his old friend Bernard Dowd (who hadn't appeared since around 2005, and had been a minor character to begin with). Bernard got kidnapped while the two of them were having dinner out at a restaurant, and ultimately when Tim later goes to rescue Bernard while in his hero identity as Robin, Bernard tells Robin (presumably unaware that Robin is Tim) to tell his friend Tim Drake that he'd helped him figure out who he was and that he wishes they could have finished their date. What Bernard says sparks what Tim calls in his narration a 'lightbulb moment' where he begins to realize that he has romantic feelings for his friend, and that this revelation is the thing that had been feeling out of reach within himself/causing that inner conflict. At the end of the last issue (released almost exactly two months ago on August 10th) Tim goes to Bernard's house and explains that he's not exactly sure what everything means yet, but Bernard asks him on a real date and he says he thinks he wants that. The comic ends by saying that the story will be continued in a comic that comes out this December (Batman: Urban Legends #10)

Queue the internet going nuts over this because, well. Tim is a Robin, (the Robin that had a popular monthly ongoing comic from 1993-2009) and that's a pretty significant thing. Tim is also a character that fans have been reading as being attracted to men for a very long time. Media outlets begin to say that he has come out as bisexual, despite the actual comic not putting a label on him. The writer of the story, Meghan Fitzmartin, specifies in an interview that at this point he hasn't picked a label yet. Her specific words are:

“I wanted to pay tribute to the fact that sexuality is a journey,” Fitzmartin told Polygon. “To be clear, his feelings for Stephanie have been/are 100% real, as are his feelings for Bernard. However, Tim is still figuring himself out. I don’t think he has the language for it all... yet.” (link)

Some people prefer to see Tim as bisexual or pansexual, some see him as gay, and some are content with him staying unlabelled. We know that there is still more to the story coming down the line (in December) so we're in this awkward in-between spot where everything is just a lot of speculation. Which means of course there's a certain amount of people getting mad at others over their headcanons/what they want the outcome to be.

I personally would like to see him be revealed as bi, because I am a bi person and it's the headcanon that I think suits him best based on how i've read and related to his character. I've thought of him this way since long before him becoming canonically lgbt in any way was a thing. I'd also be perfectly fine with things if he got confirmed as something else though! Bi is just my personal preference. Obviously that simple fact pissed some random anon off, and that spurred... all the shit i've been answering today about this.

The conversations about 'm/f pairings as bi representation' that started out of it is just especially out of nowhere imo because Tim is not even in an m/f relationship at this moment. Like, yeah he has only dated girls up until this point, but that's because him realizing he's attracted to boys (whether exclusively or in addition to girls has, again, not yet been made clear at this time) is a brand new development from two months ago. Most comic series come out monthly, these things... move pretty slowly! Especially because he is not the main leading character in an ongoing monthly book right now, his stories on this subject are all part of an anthology book that rotates what stories are in the issues.

This all got very wordy, but yeah it's just insane how mad and petty people are getting (and to me, specifically, for some reason) over all of this when we are in an in-between state right now where the only thing we know for sure is that Tim's not straight and we're getting more content about this two months from now. Everything else on the subject is people getting mad over nothing (me wanting to see Tim as bi does not harm anyone who wants to see him a different way!) or just like, ignoring the actual way comic books work as a medium.

remus first had a panic attack when he was four. it was his first ever full moon. at the time he didn’t identify it for what it was, but looking back on that night he could practically remember how it felt.

he remembered the dark room, the banging on the door crying, begging to escape. he screamed himself hoarse, he was afraid of the dark. he had been ever since something had hurt him a month ago. he felt horrible, he was in pain, he was confused. he was four.

remus used to have a panic attack before every full moon. when he got older, he learnt to do it in silence. he realised how much his strangled cries were hurting his parents.

he had a panic attack at eleven, when a man came and told him he would be able to attend hogwarts after all. in a way, it was a dream come true. in another way, it terrified him. what if people worked out what he was? what if he got expelled? worse, what if he hurt someone?

remus had a panic attack at twelve. his first and only friends had cornered him. “remus, where do you go every full moon?”

his throat felt like it was about to close completely. he felt his heart begin to speed up, he heard it speed up. he slumped to the floor and hugged his knees. james was talking to him but he couldn’t hear it over the pulsing of blood going through his veins.

there was a pair of hands on his shoulder in an instant, pulling him into a standing position. sirius. it was sirius. he placed a hand on his stomach and began breathing unnaturally loudly, adding pressure to remus’ stomach every time he inhaled and releasing it every time he breathed out.

remus’ eyes darted around frantically. then, he calmed down. he wasn’t sure how. his breathing slowly fell in time with sirius’. once it did, sirius stepped away. “you were having a panic attack.”

remus chuckled softly. “well noticed.”

“i get them at home all the time,” sirius shrugged, like it was the most natural thing in the world. like he didn’t even realise it was a problem.

“what calms you down?” sirius asked one night. they were fourteen, there was a storm. remus had a panic attack. it had been stormy the night he was bitten. he felt so pathetic but sirius had helped calm him down, he had a knack for it.

remus shrugged. you, he thought. “hearing your breathing, i guess?”

“okay. i was just asking so i know how to help is all. i’ll always be there to help, you know.”

“yeah. i know.”

remus had a panic attack after he found out sirius had told snape how to get past the whomping willow. remus was certain he never wanted to see sirius again. in that moment, however, he wanted sirius there so badly it hurt.

james was rubbing small circles on his back, peter was assuring him it’d be okay, that snape wasn’t allowed to tell anyone. it took him a long time to come down from the heightened state of anxiety. he wished very briefly that sirius would just hug him until he was okay again.

he shook the thought off almost as soon as it had popped into his head. it was sirius after all who was the reason he was in this mess. besides, sirius had lied. he said he’d always be there to help and he wasn’t.

remus had a panic attack at seventeen when his dad had written to him saying his mum was ill. sirius had followed him out of the great hall straight away.

remus walked into the courtyard and all but collapsed onto the lawn.

sirius sat down next to him and immediately wrapped him into a tight hug, breathing slowly and clearly and gently stroking remus’ back.

sirius had always been good at calming remus down, when they started dating, simply being with sirius was enough to slow remus’ racing heart.

once remus’ breathing had completely returned to normal, sirius kept hugging him for a long time, still sat on the grass. remus cried into his shoulder and sirius let him.

“it’s not fair,” remus sniffled. “i spent so long lying about her being ill so i had an excuse for the full moons and now—”

“hey,” sirius said, softly. “it’s okay.” he pulled away but only so he could look into remus’ eyes. “you’ll be okay.”

remus found that strangely reassuring. sirius didn’t say that hope lupin would be okay, he couldn’t have known that. the statement that he, renus, would be okay, wasn’t so easy to despute. “i don’t know what i’d do if i lost her.”

“you’d have me. always.” he pressed a kiss to remus’ forehead. “i promise. i’m not going anywhere.”

remus nodded and wiped his eyes. part of him wanted to feel bad that he was crying about his mother, at least he had been blessed with one who loved him.

sirius seemed to read his mind. “i wish i knew what to say... i don’t think mothers are a topic i’m very knowledgeable on.”

“it doesn’t matter. you always know what to say.”

“i wish that was true.”

“it is. i’d know.”

“and i wouldn’t?”

remus laughed, weakly, but it was there all the same.

“love you,” sirius mumbled against remus’ hair.

“i love you too.” remus smiled. “see, you do always know what to say to make me feel better.”

“i’m not going anywhere,” sirius repeated. remus wasn’t sure why, maybe just to confirm it was true.

it wasn’t, of course. remus lost sirius in 1981 and didn’t get him back until 1993. he lost him forever two years later.

that was the problem, see. of course sirius could say that he would be there for remus at his worst, but remus’ worst was always going to be a life without sirius.

... i don’t know why i made it so sad. that just happens sometimes.

So, Birthdays!! I posted about it on Reddit like almost a year ago (the first thing i ever did on reddit, actually!) So I'll copy paste that and change some things because i think I have changed some things since.

So I started this because of my fic series One More New Direction and i went a bit inane due to, like, timelines. so i wanted to give everyone birthdays if they didn't already have them. (and obviously have a note of them all just in case they could be used in the plot)

Here is a screenshot from my timeline google sheets of all of the birthdays (ignore the OCs and the colour coding, it's just me trying to keep track of who is new and who is graduated, this is also why Roderick isn't in this, becasue in my fic he hasn't transfered yet (this is the year between S5a & 6) and Jane hasn't started highschool so that's why she's not on it) and I'll explain them (mostly S2 NDs) under the cut (my reddit comment amended, basically) 💛

I know I missed Blaine but... he's not in my fic as a ND member at all so i didn't give him a birthday just yet because i haven't needed to.

Puck: Aug 17th 1993 I choose Mark's actual birthday because Glee did that with Kurt so why not the other characters. - I see Puck as being the second oldest after Kurt, just based on vibes, so Mark's birthday fit here.

Rachel: Dec 18th 1994 This is her canon birthday. this means she turns 16 in S2 which makes her the youngest of her year group. I've headcanoned that she skipped a grade, or maybe her dad's started her in school a year earlier than everyone else because, well, it's Rachel.

Santana: Jan 12th 1994 Basically I used Naya's birthday. I know this messes up Finn's 'canon' birthday but bare with me.

Finn: Jan 15th 1994 I didn't use Finn's canon birthday because in S4 Sue says he's 19, like a lot, and I also couldn't find it anywhere but the Fandom Wiki. So his canon birthday doesn't work. Finn dies at 19 and if his birthday was the canon one of Aug 24th 1994 he wouldn't have been 19 when he died but 18. So I changed it and used Naya's birthday and what was said during S1's madona episode that Finn was 3 days younger to come up with Jan 15th.

Quinn: Feb 1st 1994 Basically I just looked up her birthday and there was a random thread on Fandom Wiki that stated this was her birthday so I rolled with it because it works with the timeline.

Britt: March 14th 1994 It's what it says on Fandom Wiki, but I don't remember it ever being said in canon. However it's also Pi day (3.14) so that's fun for the 'math genius'

Tina: Mar 28th 1995 A year younger than the others as she graduates S4 not S3. I was going to go with Jenna's birthday just because but apparently her and Harry (Mike) share the same birthday! So I had Mike have April 28th and moved Tina's up a month

Mike: Apr 28th 1994 See above I guess. It's Harry's birthday so I rolled with it. graduates S3

Sam: May 6th 1995 A year younger because he graduates S4. It's said in the prom episode that his birthday was a week before so I looked up when American's have prom (I'm english) and yeah. this was what I decided??? I can't remember why exactly I chose that date but I'm sticking with it because I can't change it in my fic now without messing stuff up. I maybe would change it to a week earlier so at the end of April.

Kurt: May 27th 1993 This is canon and makes Kurt the oldest in the club which is fun since Chris is the youngest of the main cast and it's also Chris's Birthday take away 3 years. My headcanon is that his mum and dad kept him back a year before starting school because he was so small or something OR that he missed too much school when his mom died and had to retake a year. I'm leaning towards the latter because that's a sadder backstory.

Artie: Jun 14th 1995 A year younger than everyone. again, I used the actor's birthday because I'm lazy and it fit.

Mercedes: Jul 10th 1994 I just see Mercedes having a summer birthday for some reason. IDK? literally just picked my mom's birthday.

Unique: Aug 20th 1995 so she's in the year below Sam/Tina/Artie in my headcanon which is why she's not still at McKinley or highschool in S6. Alex's Newell's birthday.

Ryder: Sep 14th 1996 A year younger than Unique. A Sophomore in S4 (I think that may be said somewhere? or at least implied?) He could be a Freshman too, so 1997 or stick with '96 and have him kept back a year because of his dyslexia, but I decided against that in my story. Just a random date I picked because I didn't have anyone else in September.

Marley: Oct 4th 1996 Also a Sophomore in S4. (again I think that's said?) Melissa's birthday

Jake: Oct 17th 1997 Freshman in S4. Honestly, it's simply because Puck doesn't know him and if he was a Freshman in S3 than Puck would have maybe interacted with him? or at least known there was another Puckerman in the school and I don't think it's said anywhere that he's transfered or anything. so hence, a freshman... Jacob Artist's birthday.

Joe: Nov 12th 1994 completely random. In my head canon he's in the same year as Sam/Tina/Artie

Sugar: Feb 14th 1996 A year younger than Sam/Tina/Artie. I also just like the idea of her birthday being on Valentine's day, it kinda makes the whole Sugar Shack thing kinda sad in a 'noone would come if it was just for my birthday but! Valentines!!' way

Kitty: Feb 22 1997 Young enough to come back in S6 as a Senior (don't get me started on the confusion of that timeline) Random date.

I also headcanon the McCarthy twins as around late-1998/1999 (I picked 23rd May because Twins and Gemini! Only one based on astrology!) and in their sophomore year in S6. Same with Spencer

Rodderick ~ 1997 ish. I believe it's stated that he's a senior in S6? Same with Alistair??

Jane's a Freshman in S6 so a late-1999/2000 birthday.

and Myron is around November 2001 ish because he turns 13 in roughly November 2014... i think... again S6 timeline is insane.

asldkfjalsdjkfas just as i was about to post this, my tumblr completely stopped working so i had to refresh.  anywayyyyy other than that, thank you so much for requesting!!  this was fun to do and i am so tempted to have a part two.

pairings: soulmate!stefan x reader

warnings: uhhhhhhhh vampirism, you were turned, disappearances, cussing, not the whole shabang but it is the vampire diaries so take what you will

His timer didn’t start counting down until 1993.  At that point in time, Stefan was 147.  That would have meant that his soulmate had just been born.  But it started at 21 years, 7 months, 3 weeks, 2 days, 16 hours, and 22 seconds.  

He had often regarded the soulmate timer as a hoax.  Damon had his and lost his soulmate.  As soon as he met his soulmate, she died right in front of him.  It sent Damon into a rage.  And Damon nearly sent Stefan into another ripper phase.  

But that’s a story for another time.  

Stefan stepped out of his car, looking down at his wrist.  It had decreased tremendously.  Today, it read 2 hours.  Sometimes, though, it had gained some time.  As if something had changed with his soulmate and the universe said, “Enough is enough.”  However, today was definitely different.  It kept ticking down.  And he couldn’t do anything to stop it.  

He looked towards the forest and let out a soft sigh.  Klaus wasn’t up to anything good.  Stefan and his friends had to do something to get Klaus to stop rampaging, as often as he did.  So, they decided to meet up and formulate a plan, careful not to let any of the Mikaelson’s know of their whereabouts.  

Damon would be with Elena.  Caroline was somewhere.  It was the same with Bonnie.  

Stefan frowned.  Something felt off… but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it.  

“Stefan,” the man heard his brother’s voice.  He frowned and he looked up, seeing Damon walking over with a frown.  “We have a problem.”

Elena came up beside of him, followed by Caroline and Bonnie.  Elena had a deep frown.  

“Caroline’s sibling is missing,” Elena said.  

Stefan frowned deeply as he looked at the girl.  He quickly looked to Caroline. “Sibling?  I thought you were an only child.”

“They were adopted when I was three.  They were six…  They left town as soon as they turned eighteen.”  

“When was that?” Stefan looked at Damon, frowning.  “Why haven’t I ever met them?”

Caroline crossed her arms over her chest.  “[Your name] didn’t have contact with me for about a year before they finally messaged me.  It was an email, with their location.  They were literally in the middle of a small town in Alaska.  [Your name] had no recollection of what happened… and then Klaus showed up,” Caroline cleared her throat. “He showed up and suddenly, they started sending me text messages.  Daily.  Always asking me how I am.  I… I know [Your name]’s missing because I haven’t heard from them in about a day. And I think it has something to do with Klaus.”

Stefan stared Caroline down for a moment.  “And you’re sure they’re missing? They haven’t just run off again, like they did before?”

Caroline frowned.  “[Your name] got away because of the town.  I knew it wasn’t because of me.  Please, I just… I have a really bad feeling about this.  I’m scared something bad has happened, Stefan.”

The vampire sighed and he ran a hand through his hair.  “Alright.  What do we do?”

“We need you to contact Klaus,” Elena said, coming up beside of him. “He trusts you more than any of us.  The two of you used to be friends, yeah?  Just ask him to meet up with you.  Damon and I will go to his house and see if we can find them.”

Stefan frowned but nodded.  

He found himself, just moments later, back at his car and calling Klaus from his cellphone.  

“And to what do I owe this pleasure of hearing your annoying voice?” 

Stefan rolled his eyes.  “Very funny, Klaus.  Listen.  I need to talk to you.  Do you think we could meet up somewhere?”

“Talk to me?  Can you not just tell me now?”

“It has to be in private.”

Klaus sighed over the phone.  He cleared his throat before speaking again.  “Okay.  Mystic Grill, ten minutes.  I haven’t got all day, you know.”

“I know.”

Stefan leaned against the edge of the bar as he frowned at Klaus. Klaus kept looking towards the timer on Stefan’s wrist as it edged closer to half an hour.  

Klaus smirked at his old friend.  

“Are you expecting someone?  Nervous, are we?”

“I’m not nervous,” he rolled his eyes and turned back to the counter. He took a sip of his whiskey, watching the ice clink against the edge of the glass.  

Klaus rose an eyebrow.  “Then why have you called me here, hm?” 

“Well,” Stefan began, looking down at his phone.  

Not here.

It was a text from Damon.  

Stefan put his phone away and he looked up at Klaus.  

“Let me ask you something, Klaus,” he said, clearing his throat.  “Do you… do you know where Caroline’s—”

“Is Caroline here?” he asked, interrupting him completely.  He smiled at the man.  “I’ve been meaning to talk to her about something.”

“Talk to her about what?”

Klaus rose an eyebrow and he finished drinking his drink.  

“Well, has she talked to you about [Your name]?”

Stefan turned to face the Original vampire.  

“They came to me a few years ago.  They had been turned and they had no idea where to turn to.  You weren’t here and they were basically alone.  They had made friends with Rebekah sometime ago and decided that they needed to find me,” he chuckled softly.  “Low and behold, they found me.”  

Stefan stared at him.  “[Your name] left because they were turned?”

“That and other reasons,” a voice came from behind the two conversing men. “I’m [Your name].  Would you like to talk any louder?  I don’t know if the office building down on main street heard you.”

Stefan quickly turned his head in your direction, his heart dropping to his stomach.  His timer had stopped, blinking zero for just a moment.  

You tilted your head in confusion before you turned your attention to your own timer.  It read zero, just like the man in front of you had zero on his own.  

“Who…” 

You looked up at Stefan with wide eyes.  “You must be Stefan.  Klaus… told me that you were friends with my sister.  Is she alright?  Is she well?”

“She’s a vampire,” Stefan cleared his throat.  “You… might want to talk to her on your own instead of asking me about her.”

“She’s a vampire?” you weakly asked, frowning.  “That’s exactly why I tried to stay away—so she wouldn’t…  Did you turn her?” 

“No.  No, I didn’t.  I promise.”

You stared him down for a minute.  You couldn’t help but look back down at your timer, sucking in a deep breath.  “I… is yours… did yours just reach zero? Like mine did?”

Stefan nodded, watching you with soft eyes.  “Yes.  Mine did.”

“So that means…”

“You’re soulmates.  Yes, great.  Wonderful figuring this out.  Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a date with Caroline—”

You rolled your eyes.  “If you hurt her—”

Klaus shot you a glare before he left the two of you standing by the bar.  

Stefan awkwardly cleared his throat.  “I… I guess I should formally introduce myself.  My name is Stefan Salvatore.”

You looked back at him, and you began to smile a bit.  “[Your full name].  It’s nice to meet you, Stefan.  I… wow, I just… I can’t believe I’ve found my soulmate.”

Stefan couldn’t help but smile at your comment.  “I went for so long thinking I didn’t have one.  It’s… nice to know that the only problem was time.”
