obsessed with this idea that nobody can really get through to midoriya like bakugo can lol. all might and gran torino give great advice that help them progress but it wasn't until bakugo proclaimed he'll be number 1 in the sports festival that midoriya felt the urgency to do the same. it was bakugo on his mind when he tried to control his quirk under gran torino's guidance. it was his moves that he copied. it was bakugo's words in dvk2 that popped into his mind when he asked about the internship. it was bakugo's strategy that he tried to reuse in the joint training arc.

and bakugo knows this?? after dvk2, after he finally understood and accepted that midoriya had never held any malice towards him, instead only ever admired and looked up to him, it sort of just clicked into his mind. like he finally had the pieces together that midoriya is a stubborn boy who's somehow fixated on him, and he could use this to his advantage (or in this case midoriya's own advantage).

it's like he knew exactly the right way to get through to him, even though they've basically misunderstood each other their whole lives lol. he was the only one that can push midoriya, the one midoriya would want to emulate and be rivals with at the same time. and that was who he shall become.

"look at me, i'll win with your method. i'll save to win, and i'll let my teammates save me to win. watch me, keep your eyes on me, and copy me."

lous depiction of pinnochio in neverafter is unhinging me like a screen door in a hurricane. hes a thief hes a criminal hes foul-mouthed and (chaotic) entitled and he is so, so, so afraid of his stepmother. she manipulates and threatens and hurts him and she says shes doing it for his sake, and he wants so badly to have a mother (and hes never had a mom before, how would he know that this isnt what its like?) that he convinces himself she isnt lying, even though hes so scared of her that he flinches when she talks. he says “i dont wanna” and she gets him to do it anyway. hes just a little boy and hes trying to protect himself and his father and probably eventually his friends too. what the FUCK. im on the ground sobbing shaking clawing at the walls. hes a BABY.
