My bunny

Summary: simon meets his daughter

Warnings: gore, death, violence, angst

A/n: this is a au that i have where simon has a daughter. Im deff gonna make this a series. Also its not proof read so if grammar and spellings off sorry not sorry lol

The day simon met Sammy it was love at first sight

His cold heart melted and the walls he had built from the years of truama and horror crumpled into dust.

Tears pricked his eyes as he was standing in a building he had just cleared holding the crying infant in his arms. She had a small gold bracelet with the date 3/2/16 she was one years old and it was her 1st birthday. Her bright blue eyes closed tight in a screaming sob. Wailing jn the sorrow of loosing her family.

" you're like me bunny. All Alone and no where to go" he croaked tears now streaming down his face. He cradled the baby to his chest holding her tight

"Its alright love, ive got you know." He sighed

"Daddys got you" he whispered

He vowed that day that he will take this child in and call her his own flesh and blood.

Sam was found being held by her mother tightly. The mother was shot fatally by the enemy. The last thing in her mind before the bullet hit her was to protect her precious sleeping daughter. Simon got to her on her last breaths her passing thw child to simon

"Please.....take care..... of...sam.." the mother ghasped out taking in her last breath as she handed her to him. The look of horror hidden behind his mask tears prickling the corners of his eyes.

Flash backs of his past hitting him like a train. The sight of the newly deceased family holding each other in fear as the enemy executed them one by one. If it wasnt for him to step in at the right time he'd would've not met the meaning to his life the will for him to keep fighting knowing that theres someone waiting for him to come home.

Simon rushed to the safe house holding the baby like his life depended on it. When he arrived he instantly collapsed on the couch hunching over the baby quietly sobbing. He sat there for hours not wanting to let go of his child.

When evac came they sought out for the baby telling simon that she needs to be searched for any wounds. Simon followed them not leaving her side. when she was done with the evaluation the doctor came telling him everything

"She's a very healthy girl and we will make sure she will be put in a nice house-"

"NO" simon yelled " she's staying with me"

The doctor was shocked by the quick answer

"Luttenant she needs to be in a safe household away from danger and quite frankly-"

" i dont care what it takes. If it costs me everything. She's going to be my daughter"

The doctor looked at him in defeat

"Very well but you will have to talk to the higher ups about this. A child is a life long commitment"

"Like i fuckin know that doc i said what i said now let me see her"

He followed the doctor to the examination room where the nurses where trying to calm her down but where failing to. Simon rushed over to her

Sams crying settled down when simon picked her up cradling her head.

"Its alright im here, im here" he said softly

"Well congratulations mr.riley you're officially the father of Samantha!" The adoption agent said handing him back the adoption papers

For the first time in years simon had a smile on his face tears pricked his eyes as he glanced down at the new adoption papers

"Samantha josephine riley" he said softly looking at his new daughter in her car seat carrier. She slept peacefully

"You like that dont you bunny?" He said tickling her tummy causing her to let out a light giggle

This was his happiest day of his life

7 years later

"DADDY! " sam yelled running up to him engulfing him in a hug

Laswell let out a chuckled handing simon her bag

"Hey bunny! where you good for auntie kate"

"Yeah!! She said giving him a kiss on his skull mask with a loud "MWAH"

Ghost took his mask off and blew a raspberry on her cheek causing a fit of giggles

" thank you for taking care of her while im away" simon said to kate

" any time" she said blowing sam a kiss " bye sammy" she said

Sam gave her a toothless smile

" well you look at that! Did you loose a tooth while i was gone?" Simon asked

" yeah! I was playing tag with annabeth (laswells daughter) and i hit a tree! Then my tooth fell out! And i got five bucks from the tooth fairy look daddy!!" She handed him a 5 dollar bill "i must have been really good for her to give me $5!" She said with a toothless smile

"I bet you where bunny" he said giving her a eskimo kiss.

Simon and sammy said their goodbyes to laswell and her family and drove to their house in manchester

Kate had a small loft with her wife in liverpool just 40 minutes away from simons house. She would often visit the place when she was off duty or on vacation. This was alway convenient to him since price was 3 hours away all the way in herefordshire. The drive home was full of stories. Sammy told her tooth story, how she got to make a fort in aunties house and how she got to have breakfast for dinner. Simon was always amused by her stories. They where always innocent and cute a lot better than the horror stories he'd have to supress until sammy was older to understand his line of work.

"Daddy! How was your work trip?!" Sam asked in the back seat looking at the rear view mirror. "Did you save more people from the bad guys?" Simon smiled oh the pure innocences of his daught is what he enjoyed

"I did bunny and guess what?"

"What!"

"You remember my buddy soap?"

"YOU MEAN UNCLE JOHNNY?!" Her eyes lit up with joy "WHAT DID HE DO DADDY WHAT DID HE DO!"

Simon laughed at her eagerness

"Bugger got a tooth knocked out like you"

Sammy started laughing "uncle johnny's missing a tooth too?"

"Yeah, was fighting the bad guy and got his tooth knocked out by the butt of a rifle"

"Did the tooth fairy visit him?" She asked

"Yes she did brought him a bar of soap for being too smelly"

Sammy starting laughing in a fit of giggles "stinky johnny! stinky johnny!" she sang

Simon chuckled at her tune

If only he can press pause on times like these and relive them over and over he would.

Kit my beloved, have you watched (or read) jujutsu kaisen?

no but honestly from what ive seen on here the characters seem really interesting (and angsty), and i would watch the anime for the only reason that i cant buy the manga and im horrible at reading manga on screens, and like i dont know how good the anime is compared to the manga?? so if you watched please tell me if its good!!

you really saw jason narration and jason getting love and you ran with it /lovingly

both of those are so over complicating for no reason (especially in my head since the amount that i wrote compared to the amount of plot in my head is embarrassing) and they almost were the same fic (they intersect a lot time-line wise) but they have a different focus and themes and narration style and i just split it into two different works to make it simpler

i do love complicating things as you can see

Haaaha so, the problem is…unless there’s enough fic for me to justify a separate doc to myself, half my WIPs are under shit like [fandom] stuffff or, worse, Untitled Document. On the other hand, some stuff I get optimistic and title properly. My big problem is, I'm pretty okay at ideas--but V terrible at follow through. So um Ymmv

Anyway im gonna base this on whether there’s even a 1% chance I’ll come back to the WIPs for even a second bc otherwise we’d be here all day, I got stuff from 2011 in my docs and I’d literally rather dunk myself in a pool of hot oil than touch those (I haven’t gotten around to deleting them yet shut)

suna looks up at you, “so?”

“you come here often?” you grin.

he gives you an unimpressed look. you still notice the way the corner his lips quirked up a little. (your pride swells).

“you know i work here.” he leans against the counter.

you bounce on your feet, lips pursing in faux confusion.

“what a coincidence.” you smile, leaning closer to him. “my favorite person works here.”

he leans forward when you say that, a smirk growing on his lips. “really?”

“yup.” you laugh.

“what about you?” he yawns.

you tilt your head in confusion.

“you come here often?” he shoots back, smirk becoming teasing when you turn away.

you hide your smile behind your hand when you look back at him.

“i frequent this place.” you put your hands on your hips.

“how interesting,” he sighs, “my favorite person also frequents this place.”

you cross your arms over the counter, a smile blooming in your lips.

you lean forward. “do they now?”

and suna nods, a genuine smile on his lips. “yeah. they come here every morning before their first class.”

“i bet they’re happy there’s barely any customers,” you lean up, “they love having you all to themselves.”

“what a coincidence.” he leans closer to you. “i love having you all to myself, too.”

you smile, slowly leaning towards him. suna inches his face closer to yours.

“i have to ask you something very important, though.”

you get goosebumps when his breath fans your lips. you can practically feed his lips against your. you inch your face closer to his.

he pulls away, cocky smirk on his lips. “what are you gonna order?”

you have to stop yourself from toppling over the counter. you blink at him. he laughs when he sees your bewildered expression.

“what?” you squeak.

suna taps the sharpie against the plastic cup in his hand. “coffee. you gonna have your usual?”

you blink at him, frowning. “will it be free if i kiss you?”

“no.”

you click your tongue. “fine.”

“i still wanna cash in that kiss, though.”

hiya snickie!!! came here to SCREAM with u!!!!!! i so love the action in OL&W!!! thank u so much for the lovely update ❤️ im a little confused about where shika’s intense hate is coming from… obviously the war and all that but it’s not like he and his guild didn’t kill a whole bunch of others who fought too… i sorta feel he’s being irrational about Sakura but maybe when your shadows talk like his do, you’re bound to stray from logic somehow…

ANYWAYYYYY mysterious sakura is mysterious AND add in gaara to that mix — I LIVE FOR A JEALOUS SHIKA IN DENIAL! it’s sad doe that sakura had to fight temari and now our dear sand baby no longer has his sibs :( please dont make him resent sakura, he feels like a genuine friend to our fearsome pink tiger

UGH i have so many questions and i havent even checked out the index yet but i will soon! i just wanted to drop by first! 🥰 but if u would be so inclined to answer (unless it’s a spoiler):

1. will we know more about sakura’s relationship with itachi and shisui? in the first (?) chap, i think she said something like “i see itachi has found me” which definitely sounds like a hide-and-seek thing with them and i dont mind an itasaku angle to this ❤️❤️❤️

2. is there a chance for ino and sakura to be friends jn this AU? right now it seems like sakura only cares about shika and whatever it is going on in her head (but still about shika). it also feels like ino just wants to steer clear of sakura??? but maybe that would change after the latest chapter??????

3. will we ever know where shikaku disappeared to in the months before the war ended (also known as “the final battle feat. sakura’s badass drop from the sky”) i’m quite curious as to why shikaku seems so chill when sakura appeared in their guild… he obvs knows something i dont hmph

4. do u have an inspiration for their outfits? it’s not as easy for me to imagine the characters and setting in my head because i also was not exposed to a lot of fantasy literature/movies/etc.

UGH I SWEAR IM ENJOYING THIS TOO MUCH!!! remember when i told u i don’t really like fantasy AUs but then you go write this amazing piece and add in some mystery to the freaking truth about the war… HOW EVEN??? 😱 i love the mystery about everything in OL&W so even if i have all these questions here i am giggling to myself trying to think up different possibilities 😆

you are 100% right to think that shika’s anger is like “dude eat a snickers”! he is being irrational, but he doesn’t see it that way. he blames the losing of the war on sakura, he’s putting a lot of anger towards her… and like you said, with the Shadows whispering in his ears, it is a bit hard to tell reality from thought. ;) plus, shikamaru is a very unreliable narrator.

YES JEALOUS SHIKA! I’m so glad you caught onto that! its the beginning of the “I hate her” and “don’t touch her” conflict. and i can’t wait to get into it moreee >:))

as for gaara! Don’t worry too much about our sand bby. he is very intimate with death (*cough cough*). plus, he and saku are longterm friends, it would take much more than sakura putting down his turncoat “sister” to sever that bond. they’ve known each other for years now ;)

AAAAAA 🐱 you’ll make me cry! thank you so much for coming over here and screaming at me!!!!! I LOVE IT!

1) kind of! the next chap we’ll be seeing shisui and itachi! Though, the amount of info we get on them and saku will depend on shika (but for you 🐱 i’ll see what i can do ;) )

also! ITAKSAU! i love that ship, its so fun to read and aaaaa but! im not gonna really dive deep into those two and i am always up for leaving things for interpretation. Plus, sakura’s lived since the Violent Era, so itasaku might have happened ;))

fun fact! in the very early stages of this (very first drafts) i had itasakushi a thing, and i quite liked it soo take that as you will ;))))

2. HOPEFULLY! ive been turning it over in my head so much lately and i’m hoping so! there are time skips after almost every chapter (until the end ones) so im hcing that later on (you’ll see) that they work together and come to stand on stable footing. also a thing to remember; ino and cho are not the same as shika, they don’t see sakura in the same light. also, they’re a lot mentally healthier LMAO

3. ah yes! he and his half of the army simply lost communication and probably had been bombarded and cornered by the enemy! ALSO I LOVE THAT NAME AHAHAHA! near the end shikaku comes clean about why saku was there. for the past eight years shikaku and yoshino have been trying to protect shikamaru (and themselves) from the growing “rebellion”, it got too much so sakura came in to clean up house. plus, saku and shikaku are friendly, saku and yoshino are def friends.

so, they know they can depend on sakura to take care of things, hence why they’re so relaxed about the murders LMAO

4. yes! and kinda! so if u check out the pinterest board and scroll through it all, near the “bottomish” you should be able to find some clothing/weapon references to give you an idea/vibe! in all honesty, i don’t have a clear cut image in my head either, so whatever comes to mind works great :)))

AAAAAA 🐱 ILYSM!!! I still cannot get over the fact that you took a chance on this, that means everything to me!!! and the fact that you’re really enjoying it???? take my heart! its yours! there are going to be even more mystery elements coming in the next chapter (this is where “plot” starts and im so HYPE)
