Yeah that’s you and Julian, sword fighting with anything you can find around the house (if this is a modern au he would be quoting that movie no I don’t take criticism)
Up and down the stairs swinging your fake swords, quipping back and forth
“You’ve bested me this time MC my sweet, but I’ll get my revenge!”
He’ll swish his coat back and forth like a villain’s cape
Things get intense as things go on, and he starts to take things seriously
He’ll tackle and pin you down, declaring his win
“I win” you whisper
A bit of confusion “Why? I have you pinned!”
“Exactly”
That never fails to turn him bright red and sputtering
During his sputterings, you flip things over on its head, holding your fake weapon to his throat
Dramatic swooning “Ah MC you wound me, using my momentary lapse against me!”
Dramatic death scene, this is Julian we’re talking about if he wasn’t dramatic he’s been replaced
“Ah and I’m dead.”
So much laughter coming from the two of you it’s unbelievable

Play fights with harmless magic
Tickle magic (think animated feathers), fake swords and so on (modern au he’d be a big fan of Star Wars lightsaber fights, imagine fighting with fake sabers with him)
You bop him on the head with a paper rolled up and he attacks
Magic and sparkles go everywhere, shooting out of his fingers
He does not play when it comes to play magic fights
And he will tackle you
Like straight up launch through the air to take you down
Leaving you both laughing so hard you can’t get up
“I do believe that’s my win MC. Care to reward me~?”
Smack him with a pillow and things turn into a pillow fight
Literally do anything and he will retaliate
In a loving way of course, he enjoys hearing you laugh and goof around
He would make light swords with magic
Imagine how cool that would be though, like hear me out here
Turn off all the lights and fight in the dark, bouncing off the bed and couches, light swords illuminating your faces
If this was a modern au he’d be quoting Star Wars
In the end it’d be a draw
*swooning* “Oh MC you’re...too powerful!” *falls on you*

Lots of yelling and trying to (unsuccessfully) get him off of you

Nadia goes to apologize, but then you nail her with a large pillow, also knocking her to the ground
Laughing so hard you fall over, you and Nadia laughing together
Valerius is embarrassed but won’t mention it if you won’t
Don’t tell anyone about this incident
She’ll kiss the top of your head, making you squeal breathlessly
“I love you darling. We’ll call it a draw.”
“Well I clearly won!”

He’s so big he doesn’t wanna hurt you
But when you smack him lightly with a small (magical) gust of wind it’s on
Honestly he’ll just pin you down and you have no hope of getting back up
It’s very funny to him but less so to you
“I have you pinned, you have nowhere to go.”
He’s very ticklish on his sides so if you prod him there he’ll fall off of you with a squeak
Play fights with Muriel usually end up as tickle fights anyways
He’s too easy to beat at those, and you’re thankful for that
Otherwise you’d never win your play fights

hey! i was wondering: how do you start doing art on tumblr?? and get people to recognize you? is there anything i should do to start on a good note? im just an aspiring artist (ive been too nervous to post anything on here so far, and if i do, i just immediately delete it) do you have any tips?
the easy answer to this would be to just tell you not to worry abt what people think and popularity–just draw bc you love it. and while that’s a nice sentiment and all, it’s really……not all that helpful. I admire your honesty abt your drive to be recognized, and out of respect for that, I want to try to give you something more substantial
with the way this website and it’s tagging system tends to work, your best bet for getting your work seen and becoming popular fast? fan art.
this is a huge platform for sharing popular media, so lots of people are going to be searching in specific tags for shows/people/books/movies/music/etc. vague tags like ‘original art’ are really only good for a personal tagging system for your blog bc for the most part, I think people already know what content they’re looking for, and are going to go to the specific tag to get it. is it possible to get recognized by just posting your original work? of course! but I think it requires a lot more luck, timing, preexisting popularity, and stuff.
the best advice I can give in regards to original work is, draw fan art first. get recognized. then post your original work in tandem when you know that people will see it. this isn’t a guaranteed method by any means, bc even tho my fan art posts can go anywhere from 100-1,000+ notes, my original work tends to garner abt 20 notes on average. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
oh!!!! and promote your tumblr on other social media!! that’s a really smart move if you’re gonna concentrate your work on original content. make sure all your different accounts link to each other, and take advantage of the format of each site. Cater To The Content!!
if you’re already planning on doing fan art, then I want to emphasize the importance of tagging. tagging is Everything in this biz, and it’s important to use them wisely bc your art will only show up in the first 5 things you tag. try to rank them in order of popularity, for example: if I’m doing some fma art, I tag the characters and/or pairings first, then the show. that way, it’s guaranteed that Someone is gonna see it if they check the tag and look at the recent posts.
send your art to your mutuals and say ‘hey look at this thing I made!’ so that the can see and decide if they wanna reblog it. make artist friends that can help promote you. networking is important, and so is knowing how to advertise your work!
don’t be afraid to self-reblog either! this is the Real thing you shouldn’t give a fuck abt what other people’s opinions are–if you’re proud of how something came out and it only got like 5 notes, you hit that mf reblog on your own post so that your followers gotta appreciate it a second time! hell, do it a third, fourth, and fifth time!!! ain’t no shame in self promotion if you ask me
when all is said and done, the most important thing is to own your work. I know how hard it is to keep a work that you end up hating on your blog, bc every time you look at it, all you can think of is ‘fuck I could’ve done that so much better….” but listen. we’ve all got like 20 bad drawings in us for every good drawing, and believe me when I say that other people aren’t going to see it the same way you do. they’re probably gonna love it even if you think it’s the worst thing ever, I can’t tell you how many pieces I have that are like that lmao.
now I’m not saying you Have to keep your work up no matter what, don’t feel pressured to do what you’re not comfortable with, but also, don’t pressure yourself to Always be your best. if you spent a lot of time on a drawing but it didn’t turn out how you wanted, it’s still valuable. you learned something from it, after all. don’t let yourself fall in love with every single thing you put on paper. let yourself make mistakes, mess up anatomy, try out ugly color palettes, all of it. in the end, we do this bc we love it!

I Am a Patient Boy - So this is an AU about Gerard being a girl named Helen (after her...grandmother?) and Frank being sort of, head over heels. 5k

This fic follows Frank as he leaves Pencey Prep and joins My Chem in 2001. The author changed a lot of details though, so I recommend thinking of it as an AU in how the band formed. Unless you want to yell at your screen at 1am for it getting the timeline wrong (like I did).

From Gabe’s POV, and it’s done flawlessly. It somehow emulates the same feeling one gets from stumbling across an overlooked short film at three a.m. on youtube. The one you can’t help but wonder about, how it is that you’ve never heard about it before. Like it is in its own bubble of existence. Feeling afraid to even breathe or look away, afraid that it’ll disappear at any time, that it was too good to be true. Something you shouldn’t be able to hold in your hands. This fic feels incredibly personal to read. Gabe’s longings of intimacy, the hopelessness at parts. I could feel my fondness for the characters grow enormously in this fic. The wording and conversations and scenes paint a brilliant picture that will stay with you for a long time. I know it will for me at least.

The first time they went over to Mikey's house, Mikey tossed her a beer and said, "My brother might come up. Maybe not, though. He gets weird in the middle of projects." She found out what he meant halfway through Dawn of the Dead, when a bundle of black fabric barreled from the basement door to the refrigerator and back down to the basement without saying a word to either of them.
I need to finish this!!! But –gah. Such awesome awesomeness.

Anti-Sex (It Comes Around remix) - The first time Frank ever really talked to Mikey's brother it was at a house party somewhere in the shitty part of the Oranges. Before that, Gerard was just Mikey's weird older brother. In Frank's mind, their interactions were always relative to Mikey, spinning out from him, Mikey first, Gerard a trailing but connected afterthought. At that party, though, Mikey's brother was a little buzzed and cheerful with it, talking with a charisma and charm Frank hadn't seen before.
Here’s a v 2018 relevant part: “Hey, you bring me my voter's registration, I swear I'll turn it in." "You're not even registered to vote?" Gerard said, and brought a hand up to run his pinky across his eyebrow like it was all just too much, and Frank laughed.
Crooked Crown - There's always a voice in the back of Frank's head, tiny and barely registering after years of shrugging it off, but still present nonetheless. It says things like, this is a bad idea, and it's satisfying now, but there'll be consequences later. Or, this is the line and you're about to cross it. Someone had once said that Frank had no conscience, which wasn't true because hi, voice in his head. He totally did have a conscience - it was just that he wasn't much of a slave to it.
In any case, the voice dampens out even quicker than usual this time and he's then free to scribble 'BALLS' in Sharpie over each page of Gerard's brand new issue of Hellboy before stuffing it back underneath the seat to be discovered later on. 4k

^ Ah Mikey, never stop being so relatable. Anyway, this was hilarious. I love how petty both of them were. Poor Ray with his head in his hands!

I love reading little snippets of their lives like this. Just the right amount of fluff and backstory for something bittersweet and hopeful.

A week ago, Gee was stumbling drunk on a stage in Japan and puking so much Frank had honestly been afraid she was going to die. So, while her over-caffeinated, white-faced sobriety of today was a welcome change, Frank still felt like they were all on the edge of disaster, that everything they'd worked so hard for could still collapse around them. 10k

Frank is jammed in between Gerard and the wall. He made Gerard check the entire basement for spiders before they turned off the crazy-bright fluorescent strip light, but he’s still wrapped himself up in the blankets like a burrito, jamming the edges under his body until he’s fucking airtight. “If you stretch you’ll pull the blankets out,” he says, muffled because his face is pressed under Gerard’s chin. “And then the spiders will get in, and then I’ll have to kill you.”

Can’t remember who wrote this description (it’s on my to-do list) (was it disenchanted?) but THEY PUT IT INTO WORDS: “I don't know how to begin to describe this one... It's written in an unusual format - ie. a lot of it is told through newspaper articles and webpages but it's one of those super haunting fics that stays with you for days. I don't think there are any triggers listed so be warned there are character deaths and supernatural stuff.”
And I really don’t have more to add. I don’t even want to say anything more because honestly for this fic, the less you know the better. For me the experience of reading it was made a hundred times better just by the emotional rollercoasters I was put through. Lol. Trying to figure out what was going on/going to happen next was really fun.

I’m afraid not my love! I have already laid out my lore of a Vampire’s reflection in Chapter Two when I said that Vampires DO have a reflection (along with not being destroyed in sunlight.) The reason why Taehyung would have moved out of view is because he would have wanted her to see only herself without seeing him in her field of vision ^^
