I wanted to ask what art programs you use! Do you use custom brushes as well? Your art is so soft and delicate, it reminds me of Renaissance era paintings like these

I use clip studio paint! Although im very bad with tech so I had my friend help me set it up so the interface basically looks just like firealpaca (which is a free drawing software!! that i believe is supposed to be a very good paint tool sai dupe & I used Exclusively for years until i switched to ipad last year, cant recommend it enough if anyone wants a good free option!)

I dont use any custom brushes although iv debated trying some out so maybe i will some day!! until then its me & round mixing brush 4 life <333

its what i use for all of my line art, highlights, etc. then just the regular pen & airbrush tools for coloring

Truth be told a lot of what i HAVENT spoken about is just stuff im still trying to figure out for myself, or just havent had the brains to put together into a properly formatted post yet (looking at you, Listener lore). But uhh i DID think of something that i dont think ive mentioned before!!!

Watchers actually dont have mouths!!! They technically feed off of the electromagnetic spectrum, so they dont need them-- the pincer-like (or, more accurately, forcipules-like) structures where their mouths should be are actually short tusks. These used to be much longer before the Watchers changed themselves to try and outrun Seekers-- they were initially a sort of status symbol within colonies, signifying experience and garnering respect, as well as providing them with a few defensive capabilities along with their crests. But the average length of their tusks was shortened drastically when they forcibly evolved themselves, because they didnt have the structure to support that along with an optimized build for fleeing and hiding. Fight was essentially put fully aside as an option, and so now Watcher tusks are just very very short
