Short arlecchino drabble
You did not know much of her past. Arlecchino rarely ever talks about her own childhood or experiences. The most she mentions is that it is better she stay distant, emotionally separated from the children. You know little of why. But its not your place to question her or challenge her.
From what the children have told you, the previous knave was a two-faced woman. She prided herself as a mother but was in reality a cruel woman. It seems no one, old or young missed her, and no one seeks to avenge her death or visit her grave. You can figure from there that she was likely what made Arlecchino so.. distant. You can feel that beneath her stare is some longing of something, perhaps her heart beats still, perhaps she does love her children in some way. You have to be subtle with your affections, although she has not reprimanded you for your softness towards them, you feel her stare lingering sometimes when you play with the children.
You do not wish to change this, Arlecchino is not a patient and you are not her therapist. You are her employee, your job is too keep the kids from tearing the place down and eating each other. Their little wishes of you and her to form a union are likely brought on by the expectation that parents are in love. She, their father; and you, their mother are by that expectation to be romantically involved. On your part you feel a undeniable intrigue for her, but you doubt its worth entertaining any romantic feelings. She is distant, though she treats you a bit more fondly than the other staff.. you still feel that distance. If she does love you then you would assume she’s afraid to.
That’s not unreasonable, she is a harbinger. She lurks in the shadows and strikes in a flash. She likely has no intention to ever have anyone by her side.
But you felt something else was at play. Whne one fateful evening you offered her some cakes that the children made. They were rather delicious, and excitedly the children responsible wanted to show off their success. This isn’t uncommon. This wasn’t even the first time Celine made Father a treat to show off. Celine is a little chef and is equally as dedicated to her training as she is her culinary skills. In the past she would excitedly hand her the plate and earn herself a pat on the head. But she was nervous and so you did the talking today. You had only said the words cake when Arlecchino looked at you with a strange expression, shock. Its as if you were a dead man rising from the grave. It was a quick expression, it didn’t last long enough for the timid Celine who lingered behind your leg to notice but you did. She seemed as if she had recalled something painful. So you didn’t pry. You simply repeated the offer and she took it without further incident. Celine was relieved that day to see father enjoyed her cakes, but your were confused. You weren’t rude, you weren’t rash or unprofessional. Your exact words had been “Would you like some cake, Celine made some.” Perhaps it was a little informal. But informality like that wouldn’t leave the woman who has likely ripped out spines and plucked out organs from her enemies to shudder. You were confused, intrigued, and worried.
Arlecchino’s fondness of you was a weird category. She would not kiss you or make flirty remarks or offer promotions in exchange for intimacy like a regular employee and employer relationship might unfold. What Arlecchino was like was a cat, hardened and cold, approaching carefully and showing affection by simply getting a inch closer. You noticed sometimes there was a sadness to her, when it came to cakes or Lumidouce bell flowers. You had caught her eye when she hovered over your exhausted form, taking a nap on the couch as permitted during your break. Her hands pulled a blanket to cover you.
Its a confusing predicament to be in. Should you expect a lover or simply a boss? You were sure that only she could know for certain what her feelings were. And you doubted she’d ever say anything of it.

Ok, serious major spoilers under the cut, even though I'm tagging it, but just in case cause I gotta geek out about this ending pronto.
THE LAST 5 (i think it was 5, idk anymore) MINUTES OF THIS FILM HAD ME SQUIRMING IN MY SEAT.
I mean, I knew that Gwen was going to need some serious help to rescue Miles since she got kicked out of the Spider Society, and I thought it was going to be the new Spider peeps, Hobie, Pavitr and Spiderbyte along with Peter B and Mayday being in the rescue group...
BUT THEN THEY CONTINUED TO ZOOM OUT AND WE SEE PENI (once again, since we saw her earlier with her updated mech), SPIDER HAM AND NOIR JOINING THEM AS WELL!?! I NEARLY SCREAMED WITH JOY REALZING WHAT THEY WERE DOING.
THEY LITERALLY GOT WHOLE THE BAND BACK TOGETHER AND THEY END THE FILM RIGHT THERE IM-
And then we get this quick shot of Miles on Earth-42, getting focused and steadily getting ready to use his electric-vemon on the chain and the last shot of Gwen before she jumps into the portal,
We still don't know what's going to happen, but it's going to be one hell of a fight since both Miguel and The Spot are still major threats after they do save Miles, or even if they manage to find him, maybe he'll get back on his own somehow 🤷♀️
On top of the whole dang multiverse potentially collapsing situation. Hopefully, the 3rd movie will be long enough to fit all that craziness in this one movie
Sorry, this film got me too excited in the last couple of hours. It's insane, I'm surprised i was able to sleep XD

Can I just say, I am SO READY for the Percy Jackson Series to take over my brain!
Do I have time for that? Absolutely not but I'm so excited to feel the exhilaration of a new hyperfixation again. I'm listening to the audiobooks again but an additional visual medium makes my brain go round like a microwave even more, I'm so excited!!

I don’t think I can ever forgive David Lowery for the Peter Pan live action remake. BUT he kinda went off when he said “you know what, Dev Patel would look so good as a medieval knight” and then he went and made a whole movie about it. Big W for David Lowery right there.
