DBH part 14

Next Week at Na's school

Na finally got back to her school ground. A little while ago she would have been super annoyed, knowing that her cousin would be around. But that worry is gone now. And it shows. But she was trying not to get ahead of herself. She was on a mission and she was determent. Inside her class Le was already waiting for her on her desk. Ns asked about her findings, as a smirk formed on her friend's lips and sent something on her pal's phone.Instead of telling her directly, all she had dug out about this Yvette woman was in those files. But Le advised her that some of those have more data than others so she should check them on a pc if she wanted to read them.

Na was sure that her own home wouldnt be the best place to check on them. Especially since her mom used it most of the time. And when ever she wanted to use it, her mom would supervise her.Her parents, her mom for the most part, acted very strange that last week. She knew it was about their last fight, back at her grandpa's home, so all the more reason to play detective.

As contribution for her tech savvy friend, she gave her a dreamcatcher, knowing Le liked some old folk tales (not that she believed them, she just liked the lore behind some of these stories). Dream catchers were just one of the things she liked a ton.

Le was happy to help and even more happy after getting this cute ring with its spinned thread.Soon after Mi & T arrived aswell and started to chat about the ipcomming trip. They still didnt know where their trip would be at. Na and Mi hoped it to be a trip to some water park, Le was happy to go to some cave and explore the inside. T was happy with anything that gets him closer to his idol. So a camping trip or even a mountain climb would be more his allee.School was uneventful for the past few days since Bu was gone. But at least no one from the younger grates got targeted anymore. Lo was abysmal at his job of being the only 'bully' in their school. He was really just a lackey of the Stanton brat.

As finally recess began, the classes played on their playground & just ate their snacks. Na and her friends notice Lo sitting lost on a bench. Mi remarked that it served him right after what he did. Le & T argeed with her. Na didnt like the boy but she felt that it was not right just to avoid him. They least should ask him if he was now aware that trying to be Bu's friend was what's gotten him to this point.After hearing their friend out, they groaned in unison. They still couldnt believe that she would suggest to even feel bad for the kid. Even more so after he was the 1st boy she kind of liked.

Back then the 3 kids had a hunch that she might like him a bit more but after that one stunt with Na's med bottle, they couldnt forgive him.

Still, she got up to Lo and questioned him why he was acting like that. The young lad confessed that he thought if he would be friends with one of the kids from the Stanton family he wouldn't need to worry about being picked on. In the end he did it himself. Na asked Lo why he choose him over her instead if he really was that worried.

He shrugged, saying that he was a child of THE famous N he had heard so much about. He knows now that just bc that someone was from a super influential and amazing family, it didn't mean their sons and daughters would turn out like them. Na let him finish and countered back: „Well, i am a Stanton, and you dont see me Terrorizing our classmates.” Her words hit him hard, and he knew she was right. Na then admitted openly that she used to like him when they first met. But after he kept bulling her with her baby cousin she was done with him. Lo was shocked at her revaluation. But more so ashamed on finally realizing that he really screwed up by not being her friend instead.

But Na threw him another curve ball: „With that out of the way, stand up and bring your lunch box. We sit under the slide today.” Lo's eyes were so big, they seemed they were about to fall out their Sockets. He asked why she wanted him to eat with her group after all he had done to them. Na explained that he was just a pawn of her cousin, and knowing Bu she was certain that this boy never saw him as a friend at all. If she was in Lo's shoes she would feel pretty lonely and abandoned. So she chose to forgive him to some extend. But only if he promised her not to crawl back to her terror of a cousin if he ever comes back. No matter how many times he tries to convince them that he had changed. She knew her family better than any outsider and her cousin is not mentally able to change in her opinion.

The little boy promised sincerely. He was absolutely done with that brat as of today.

As the group of 5 sat inside the little block under their slide, the 2 girls and T glared at the new intruder sitting quietly amongst them. Mi made a snarky remark at Lo, to which Na tried to stop her from talking any further. T defended Mi, telling his friend that he could just pretend to be sorry. But Na was sure that that was not the case.

Lo cleared the air around them and confessed to the others that he really didnt want to be around Bu anymore. When askes what he meant by that, he told them what happened.

Flashback to the day b4 school

While Lo was getting ready to go out with his parents, bu bombarded him with messages on why he was not Updating him anymore for the last few days. Lo timidly reponded that he had no luck on doing his bidding. Bu got mad reading his response calling him names and threw other hurtful stuff at him. Saying that he was the worst foot soldier he could have chosen. That was enough proof to him that he was never seeing him as an equal.

After hearing his side of the story, the kids kind of forgave him. Not by much but it was a start.

After school, Na messaged her dad that she would go to a friend's house. So he didnt need to pick her up. K read his daughter's text and was more than willing to stay at home. What he didnt know was that she was actually calling C to take her to his place. She was sure that, if she asked nice enough, that he would borrow her his laptop.

She still needed to look up the information from her Le this Morning, and was hoping her step cousin would understand. C agreed to her request with no problem. The teenager had some time on his hands, after he had done his part for his trip the next few days. His dad didnt know about it, but he also didnt know that his school would be in lockdown for some days. They had to repair some rundown school equipment, thats what they were told at least.

C arrived with his driver, Cl, at the pick up spot. Na greeted him with a smile and they drove out of the school parking lot. C & Na chatted for a Little bit tto pass the time. She took a shot in the dark and innocently questioned him if he knew a person with the name of Yvette. C was puzzled by her question but he Answered her quarrie anyway: „I think i heard about her before. All i know is that she and aunt N were pretty close. I cant remember if i ever met her before either. Why? Is something going on?” The young kid brushed it off and changed the subject to something else. She would tell Him everything if she has found out enough evidence. But as of now she needed to solve that mystery on her own (although with some help from Le aswell) for now.

Finally their destination was reached and Na invited her self in. C's mom was out for some errands, so only Se and Ll were home. Aside of their staff of course. Se greeted his big brother & half cousin half heartily as they passed their living room. Sitting infront of a huge amount of paper stacks, the little boy slouched over his homework of the day. Na was disbelieve after seeing how much his teachers made him work. Not even they had that much to do for their lessons.

Without warning Ll jumped out of a vase not far away from them. That startled C & Na a bit as she came out of her hiding spot. But at the same time, a maid who was walking by, jumped in surprise. The poor woman dropped one of the trash bags in her hands. Thankfully no harm was done to the maid but now some tissuses and shredded paper from the bag were now spread on the floor.

C was about to reach her bag bit Na was quicker. She even helped the lady to clean up the mess the small tiger caused. Ll was still laughing after seeing their faces. Na shook her head at her lil pal's behavior. The woman was glad for the help she received.

Most of the staff, like this maid, knew what kind of person Na was. And they really enjoyed it whenever her was coming around.

C grabbed the tiger on her scruff, inquiring to why she wasn't with their dad. She replied her big brother that E was given the task of keeping an eye on Se for a bit. She was not told why but she was just following his orders.

After the reveal Se groaned in response. C was not sure what was going on but he was not eager to find out about it. As soon as the 2 girls picked up the trash the maid excused herself and informed C and his guest that some pudding was on the counter. So if they wanted to they were free take one.

Thanking the maid, C finally went up stairs, with Na in tow. Na asked if she could use his laptop for a little while. He turned her down bc he needed it himself for his homework. But she could use one of his old ones in the storage. He called a worker in his room and ordered the guy to bring Na to the syrage room he was telling her about.

After she found a fairly useable laptop she thanked the man and went down stairs to work on her brain wrecking mystery. And as she had hoped, Le left nothing out.

(I dont really remember much about Yv after such a long time. Lets just say she knows now about her carrier, private live and so on. But nothing about how she died. So we are picking it up from there)

She reread all of the files but no matter how much she tried she didnt find how or when she suddenly met her demise. So she still had to do her own research.

The front door flew Open and she could hear S laughing with someone. After checking the hall way, the girl found out who her aunt was with. S & (to her surprise) N still indulged in their own conversation didn't notice that they were being spied on. In a rush, Na took the laptop from the table and ran out b4 they came closer. She was not sure why she hid from them. It wasnt that out of the ordinary that she was in their home.But she had a gut feeling that her investigation should be hidden from ber family. And her gut was always right so far. So, after a few minutes, she pretended to pass by her aunts and feigned surpise as they finally noticed her.

S welcomed her back asking her how school went today. After Na quickly Answered her aunt she excused herself in pretense to help Se with his homework. S wasnt thinking much of it but N had a some suspicions what her niece might be up to. And she actually felt ashamed if her gut feeling might be right and she was not clear if she was supposed to tell Na or even her own childen to what happened to her late best friend.
