I hope the 2nd season of Earthspark has a little more, idk, grit? Which is NOT to say grimdark. It's just, they seem so reluctant to let the good-guy role model characters be anything other than wholesome, and even a lot of their character flaws come from a place where they're trying their best. (Like Optimus being too naive and idealistic to realize how corrupt GHOST is.)

As opposed to, like, Rattrap being sooo prejudiced against Predacons (who, reminder, the Maximals are NOT at war with on Cybertron) that he nearly blows Dinobot's head clean off ten minutes after Dinobot joins the Maximals. Now THAT'S a character flaw. And since he started from that, it really meant something when he and Dinobot became friends.

sorry just thinking about how weird people were during 13's era again. remember when Can You Hear Me aired and Graham tried to have a heart to heart with 13 about his cancer fears and she kind of awkwardly brushed him off bc she didn't know how to respond. and people were like up in arms about how mean and out of character she was being. like have you met the doctor ??? remember when clara made empathy flashcards for 12 so he would know what to say to people during a crisis ?? but when the doctor is a woman she has to suddenly be perfectly empathetic all the time and not a bit shit at it. ok

Dream Simon au

I had a dream where Simon got struck by lightning with the crown on and he was still the ice king but he still had a majority of his memories. His skin looked like when he was first turning (that dark blue) his nose was unaffected, and the streak of white he has in fionna and cake was white that faded into dark blue like the color of his muumuu. He also still wore his suit but it was blue now. Idk why the first person he was looking for was peppermint butler but it was also a dream so who fucking knows.

last night, i could see the big dipper from my bedroom window. it doesn't seem like a big moment to me now, but at the time it was magic. i saw, through my blinds, all the wonders of the galaxy - the first december night of the year, and though the trees have lost their colours, like the evergreen tree, the stars stay sustained in the sky. just how the magic of that moment will stay ingrained in my mind for a lifetime. for that minute or two, i truly felt like the universe was on my side - that it wanted to show me, there is beauty out there. that there is love to be found in the darkness.

Writing Tip: Dental Records

Despite what you may have seen on TV and in movies, there is no national database of dental records.

When a body needs to be identified by its teeth, the investigators need to have an idea of who it might be. They then usually obtain a subpoena for the records from that person's dentist. These are, after all, medical records, and are protected by HIPAA.

It's nearly impossible to fake a match (as they do in The Whole Nine Yards). Every chip, cavity, filling, crown, and gap is unique. As unique as a fingerprint. In fact, you're more likely to find someone with similar fingerprints to yours than you are to find someone with the same exact teeth.
