(and thus are the context for all of my postcanon doodles!) #which is i think nille joins the party before loop reappears for a start (either from a period of nonexistence or just wandering around) #and that like. i think the party should be able to integrate loop as a completely new person. because they are! the secrecy isn't great but #They and Siffrin shuffle into different ecological niches in the party (eg. i think sif is more squeamish after it all but loop isnt) #and while it's not *exactly* what Loop wanted they get that beggars can't be choosers. and its pretty good #(i am glossing over how i think loop's reappearence drags both them and siffrin into a massive behavioural backslide and is likely a bit #distressing to watch go down. cycle of argument -> lovebombing -> normalcy -> repeat. etc etc. but since they are no longer literally #stewing in the worst pressure cooker of all time they do resolve it via productive conversation on their own time. its fine) #the party well-meaningly tries to deduce things from loop's vagueries and are able to pin down the DEAD FAMILY vibe pretty quickly. #but eventually the question of their prior identity falls by the wayside because well! they're just their friend loop! House M.D. but it's when Wilson says House's name

#house md #james wilson #prince's talk tag #finally!!! it's done! this and the house version took almost two weeks to do #first off thank you to the clinic-duty team on livejournal for making the transcripts for these episodes #because this video would be near impossible to make without their clear transcripts. I hope y'all are doing well #ive been reading a lot of fics with these two and i see how the authors have the characters refer to each other in their fics #and that got me wondering how much do they say each other's name in the show and how do they refer to each other #since this is the wilson video ill put his stats here #s1 was 11 times s2 was 18 s3 was 45 s4 was 32 s5 was 41 s6 was 60 s7 was 47 and s8 was 48 #in total he says his name 302 times. Mostly refers to him just by House #the only time I've heard him say his first name its when he's being professional or when he's really angry (and that one time he proposed) #and even then it's always the full name not just the first name #the only instance I've seen him use just his first name was on that note he put on House's xmas gift that we see in season 5 #and as much as I wanted to put that moment in here he never actually says the contents of the note out loud so i had to leave it out #but what surprised me was he says House's name more than House says his name #especially when the earlier seasons didn't have him say his name as much

Dick: randomly passed out, was rushed to the hospital where they discovered his kidneys were going into failure, and he'd need a transplant. Everyone freaked out only for the next blood test to change completely, and nothing was wrong anymore (no one knows why or how this happened)

Jason: got caught in a riptide helping a tourist kid who didn't know the water. Got back to shore by pure stubbornness (and knowing how riptides work) and threw up from exhaustion

Tim: fell off a paddle board and hit his head on it as he fell and almost drowned from being dazed and winded by the fall

Damian: almost got tetanus from slamming his face into a rusty swing pole, then not getting a shot

Bonus Tim because in Pt 3 his injury was being scalded by boiling water: went into burn shock for most of the night

thinking about how the (greek) big three swore to never sire any more demigod children because those children are just too powerful (dangerous) and also thinking about how the characters that, arguably, seem to have the greatest proclivity for cruelty in the name of justice or vengeance are also the (greek) big three children... there's something there, a connection to be made I'm sure of it

#and its not just cruelty... #its like this spiraling into... darkness? power? #for percy and nico at least #thalia we dont get to see as much and I need to reread ttc #but like... she's SO tempted by power #its like she has to actively fight against those base instincts to rule (like her father) #when she chooses the hunters #she removes her role (her power her agency) in the great prophecy #and idk I feel like there's subtext there that she's worried what she would have done had she been the prophecy child #but sincerely there's something about greek big three kids thats off kilter #and that aspect only gets more pronounced as time goes on and they get older #like not only are they scarily powerful #but their mental states are just... messy #almost like in comparison to other demigods #they're a little more god a little less mortal if that makes sense #and they have to fight to maintain that mortality (their humanity)
