thinking about it stresses me out and i can't explain it well but making the world link events take up an entire event slot instead of it running alongside a different event is such a horrible idea imo, especially if it takes this month's lim banner entirely. and i think it's impossible considering vbs's one is in january and there's the new years fes anyways? unless they make new years perm again like in 2021 but it's going to be so fucking annoying and predictable for any fan that's been waiting for a lim for a while, especially vsers because it basically confirms that the devs STILL aren't treating them like the actual characters and putting them in events with the ocs (let alone having to wait until AUGUST for more fucking lims, yea like we need another fucking one-year gap /s). its genuinely irritating for me if they end up deciding that and not making next event lim. plus it makes the next event from now only six days considering this gacha ends October 31st, and with the event gap, the event has to end November 5th or 6th. and this wl event lasts 12 days and no event has lasted either of those lengths in jp (not to mention the weird fucking chapter-by-chapter thing going on?). sorry for acting angry but i really am disappointed if this ends up being the case without any fucking warning it makes no sense!
Tumblr media
yeah the WL event just feels like it needs some work. obviously this is the first one so there's gonna be some problems here and there but this feels like it's pretty messily put together, even for a first run. i understand it taking an event slot because otherwise you'd have to tier two separate events at the same time and that'd just be difficult, but just the sheer amount of time it takes up is too much. maybe shorten the chapters to 2 days from 3, 12 days is too long. it's just gonna be really draining and a pain in the ass to tier, plus it makes the event before it really short. like seriously, 7 days for the MMJ event? i mean the current event is only 8 but normally cheerful carnivals last about 10 because of the format. i mean MMJ wouldn't perform as well as a N25 banner anyway so maybe they're just throwing the 7 day event on them for testing purposes.
since VBS is directly after new year colofes+lims I'm guessing WL lims don't count as actual lims. maybe they don't have hairstyles, i mean they said about MR2 unlocking special cut-ins, so maybe they do that instead of hairstyles. i wonder if they'll be like a bday card where they have their own rarity or something because if the game is willing to run them directly after a fes banner they can't be all that rare? maybe they reappear on future WL events like how all fes cards are on every colofes banner.
i get the feeling that the WL event won't have a specific character focus. they didn't announce a song other than the 3rd anniversary campaign one, so unless they're deciding to count that as Kanade's 4th comm then it doesn't look like this has a specific focus. well, apparently each part of the event/story is focused on a different character so that makes sense I guess. also the 3rd anni campaign commissions are meant to release monthly, and these events are getting dragged out until well past when all unit will've gotten their comm.
i think a lot of adjustments are gonna have to be made to the event starting from the VBS one. like the whole thing feels messy right now. and maybe it's because they haven't really told us a whole lot about how it works still, but there's obvious problems from the get-go like the duration and the amount of gacha cards on top of the fact they're now rerunning 3 lim gachas at a time. how badly does this game want our money they earn way more than any other idol game on the market.

ok so the only thing that wasn't regarding song and card releases (which i don't really post and talk about on here) was actually a big collab was announced and is to be added sometime in december!
Tumblr media
My prediction is garupa doing a big song collab with another franchise, December is ALREADY a busy month with christmas (which has been fes pretty consistently for the past few years) AND new years (which has ALWAYS had a fes) and adding a lim gacha for december seems really unlikely, if it were november I would be more down to believe it (since Roselia's, Harohapi's and Morfonica's collabs all fell in november at the very least), especially with mygo involved and them freshly in the game at this point, one of them getting a collab lim this early doesn't seem likely at all. especially if they're already bound to getting a Christmas or New Years lim, which is pretty likely for at least one of the members. I'd guess the chance of this collab having cards, both event and gacha, is probably 50-50
It's also mentioned that it's large-scale, so it's likely this collab will release a LOT of new songs in garupa, 8 songs minimum, most definitely since it involves all the bands, but i predict we'll get more than ever, likely 16 to even 20 songs. But, we'll see.
There are a few people guessing this collab will be with another idol or mobage game franchise, like Love Live, D4DJ, or Pjsekai, or another franchise known for mostly songs and stuff. The most likely and obvious option of this possibility I mentioned being pjsekai because it's the bestselling of those options, and bandori has had collaborations with Hatsune Miku before and there's a good link there (plus pjsekai is pretty derivative of bandori, even having one of its charts inspired by one of Bandori's (six trillion years) and fans of both games have been asking them to collab since the start), D4dj is another option as both are pretty much cousins franchise-wise, but a large-scale collab like this might not go to them as the two franchises have been standing side-by-side for a while.

Happy Anniversary, IDOLiSH7!
Tumblr media
Alright! A bunch of stuff got announced to celebrate the series' 8th anniversary today, so lets break down the most important things regarding our favorite group, TRIGGER!
You've probably heard this stuff already but hey. I do what I want and I'm making this post anyway.
First up, let's get all the smaller 8th Anniversary stuff out of the way! Plenty of stuff has been changed and announced to help bring the series into its latest era, and all of it is very exciting!
Special Anniversary visuals by the series' main character designers have been shared and released!
... Also I feel like it's worth noting that Arina-sensei has made it clear that we've reached TRIGGER's numbers in terms of anniversaries, and that reflects in her art. Meaning, maybe it'll reflect in other things too...?!
The game is hosting weekly free 11-pulls which bring back Heavenly Visitor, Wish Voyage, Kiseki, Music in Your Thoughts, and Light Future cards! On top of that, there's a log-in bonus for nanakores and 80 Stellar Stones in total!
The game has been refreshed with a few new features like notifications on screen when you get a message from an idol/manager, more idol storage, and even special voice lines that play before a live, after an auto live finishes, and if you manage to full-combo the song. The "hey, there's an event going on" home screen line has been replaced, too, thank fuck.
A new Namjatown collab has been announced that covers the idol in glowy clothing!
The official website has been completely overhauled including brand-new bios for the idols!
Now, onto the really fun stuff...
Shuffle Units are back!!
Tumblr media
As part of the yearly anniversary story, we're finally getting Shuffle Units including Re:vale and ZOOL! As of Producer Letter 26, it's been confirmed that these units will be themed and have special songs for each, but the themes haven't been shared yet! We may have to read the two-part story to find out!
Part 1 will release September 5th, and Part 2 will release September 15th! It won't be voiced, though. Voice acting will come at a later date.
Kuji Memorial Video & Cards!
Tumblr media
What's likely the most surprising thing of all for the anniversary is that it's big surprise looks back on all of the dramas IDOLiSH7's cast have starred in over the last seven years - down to releasing an animated memorial video that covers everything from La Danse Macabre to the Last Dimension musical! There's a lot of shots of TRIGGER to spot, so if you haven't seen it yet, go watch it! It's pure emotional eye candy!
On top of that, the yearly revival gacha deals with it, too, featuring special UR cards that focus on specific scenes from Mechanical Lullaby, i7 Police, Hoshimeguri (now known in English as The Stargazer?), Karatoga, La Danse Macabre, Mission (Yamato's movie from Part 3), and BLAST! (Part 5 drama)
The best part is all the old cards, including the same kujis shown here, are in these pulls, too! Best of luck if you try to bring them home!
Producer Letter #26 Takeaways
Tumblr media
As is tradition with i7 anniversaries, there's a new Producer Letter that goes over what the current and future plans for the series are that has a few interesting tidbits fans should be aware of! I'll break it down, but if you can, I suggest reading it in your own time.
The team is still figuring out what exactly comes "beyond the period" in terms of the story, so no updates on that just yet.
They're wanting to do another 16 person live, but they're trying to book a "difficult venue" so many fans can see it. Some fans believe this to be a hint that they're trying to book the Tokyo Dome. 😱 But 16 person live isn't an impossibility!
They've implies that they're working out international distribution and screening for the recent movie Beyond the Period! So sit tight if you haven't gotten a hold of it for yourself yet!
That's about it! Pretty damn big anniversary, isn't it?! Let's enjoy it to the fullest and keep supporting TRIGGER and their friends!!
Happy anniversary!! 🤍💖💙

What We Know About P5X
(updated 1/23/24)
Persona 5: The Phantom X (P5X) has now had three beta tests, the first of which ran from March 29th to 31st 2023, the second of which ran from August 18th to 25th 2023, and the third of which is running from January 16th to 31st 2024. Here’s a summary of what we know about the game itself so far. Hopefully this’ll be useful, whether you're new around here or not!
I also have updated posts about the game's story and playable characters so far, which can be found in this blog's pinned post (along with this post!) once they're all done.
Keeping this as succinct as I can, but it's still a little long, so under the cut it goes.
Overview
P5X is a turn-based RPG mobile game with gacha elements, developed by Black Wings Game Studio and published by Perfect World Games. While not directly creating it, it is officially licensed by Atlus and Sega. Atlus has apparently been very involved in its production, including Shigenori Soejima designing the protagonist and his Persona.
The game's setting has been confirmed to be an alternate/"parallel" world to Persona 5's, though translated promotional information also confirms the plot has something to do with these two worlds interacting through "time and space".
As Perfect World Games and Black Wings Game Studio are Chinese game companies, P5X is produced in Chinese, with no current official English translations, though the third beta had files that possibly indicate future plans to translate the game into English, Spanish, and Japanese, among other languages. The dialogue in-game is voiced in both Japanese and Chinese, with Japanese and Chinese voice actors for the characters.
There are specifically two main gachas in the game- a character gacha for gaining teammates, and a weapons gacha for gaining better weapons for those teammates.
Right now, we know the game will release on both mobile and PC, but it’s unconfirmed whether it will release anywhere outside of China, Taiwan, Macao, Hong Kong, and Korea, and we don’t yet have a release date for even the Chinese version of the full game. All three of the beta tests so far have been closed betas available only in China, Taiwan, Macao, and Hong Kong, where players could sign up for a chance to get in, and actual beta accounts were given out via lottery.
The Characters
So far, there are 16 new Persona users. These characters can be divided into story teammates and "Phantom Idol" (gacha-only) teammates.
The story teammates so far are the protagonist (codename Wonder), an owl named Ruferu in Japanese which has sometimes been translated as "Luffy" by fans (codename Cattle), an athletic classmate of the protagonist's named Motoha Arai (codename Closer), and a boy from another class with an interest in cooking named Shun Kanou (codename Soy). These teammates have all joined as part of the plot of the game.
The "Phantom Idol" teammates ("Kaidoru" in Japanese) are described as being cognitive beings created by Wonder's Velvet Room attendant, Merope, to assist him in the Metaverse, and seem to be based on people Wonder meets, though they are only copies. So far, they include Motoha's friend Tomoko Noge (codename Moko), first year student Kiyoshi Kurotani (codename Key), Wonder's family friend Kayo Tomiyama (codename Okyann), college freshman from China Yaoling Li (codename Rin), an aspiring acting student whose real name may be Reo Kamiyama (codename Leon), a student from Kosei High named Yukimi Fujikawa (codename Yuki), rich high school student Seiji Shiratori (codename Fleuret), a former ice skater whose real name may be Kotone Montagne (codename Mont), an online friend of Wonder's who goes by the name Yui (codename Bui), a children's fashion model whose real name may be Hina Nishimori (codename Riddle), an unemployed fisherman whose real name may be Toshiya Sumi (codename Sepia), and the runaway daughter of a local politician whose real name may be Miyu Sawara (codename Puppet).
The original Phantom Thieves from Persona 5 also appear as Phantom Idols: Joker, Mona, Skull, Panther, Fox, Queen, Oracle, Noir, and Crow. Datamining also found some of Wolf’s battle voice lines from P5S at least in the first beta, and an icon from P5S with Sophie in all three betas, suggesting they may later be added as well. No sign of Violet has been found yet, other than the Faith Arcana card in the files. Joker, at the very least, seems to have some larger role in the plot, as Wonder has a dream about them fighting at the start of the third beta, and later what seems to be a Phantom Idol Joker comes out of nowhere to rescue Wonder and Cattle in Mementos.
Munehisa Iwai, Tae Takemi, and Chihaya Mifune also return in P5X. Iwai runs the weapon gacha, Takemi sells medicine like in P5, and Chihaya tells fortunes. The other original P5 confidants’ portraits and 3D models have been found in all three betas' data, and the Councillor Arcana card was with the other cards in the second and third betas' data specifically, but it’s currently unknown whether they’ll actually return in any capacity.
Music
Several new songs have been heard in P5X, four of which feature vocals by Lyn: "Last Strike", "Wake Up Your Hero", "Shadow", and "Fatal Desire". The new instrumental tracks so far include background music for the first two Palaces, background music for special fights, a new music track for Mementos, and some music for P5X's rhythm minigame, where Wonder plays music with fellow students.
Locations
The majority of P5 and P5R’s locations have been confirmed for P5X, including Yongen-Jaya, Kichijoji, Shibuya, and Shinjuku, but the protagonist lives in a new location called Zoshigaya, and goes to a new school called Kokatsu Academy. Another school named Kiga High School has also been mentioned.
(Note that while Yongen-Jaya exists, Leblanc has been replaced with a generic coffee shop, which is eventually purchased and run by someone other than Sojiro Sakura. Similarly, the Big Bang Burger in Shibuya is now just called Big Burger, with no apparent traces of the space theming, and the Crossroads bar in Shinjuku has also been rebranded.)
Mementos and the concept of Palaces also return in P5X, though there are some differences. At least in the betas, Mementos operates as a sort of hub, with characters entering Palaces through Mementos, from the entrance to each Palace located within the massive floors of Mementos. Mementos also has special battle locations apparently similar to “domains” in other gacha games, where completing the fight gives special items to strengthen characters and weapons, themed after P5′s Palaces (so far Kamoshida, Madarame, Kaneshiro, and Okumura's Palace-themed "domains" have been found).
Basic Game Mechanics
For the most part, P5X operates extremely similarly to P5, both in and out of the Metaverse. One notable difference is that the calendar isn't progressed by anything but the story- other activities, such as working, crafting infiltration tools, and spending time with Confidants, instead cost hourglasses to do, without being restricted to a single afternoon and nighttime time slot each day, as was the case in P5.
One interesting and more significant change made in this category is that the Confidants have what appears to be a total of 20 ranks, instead of the series-standard 10. They also haven't been associated with any Arcana, though the P5R Arcana cards have all been found in the second beta's data.
The UI elements of combat look a little different (as well as all the skill animations), appearing to be more optimized for mobile play, but otherwise it seems largely the same to P5, though one notable difference is that it seems Navigator skills can be called in at will (and then have a cooldown), rather than occurring randomly. There is a new kind of special attack called a Highlight Attack, which is similar to P5S’s Showtime attacks where the character executes a special attack with their Persona.
The protagonist can gain Personas by talking to shadows, and fuse them in the Velvet Room. Challenge battles in the Velvet Room, like in P5R, are available to attempt. Palace exploration also seems relatively standard, even if the Palace itself and the method of entering it is different. One major change is that several shadow/Persona designs have been censored; this includes Incubus and many others being given shorts, Bugs' stomach being repaired with the blood removed, Mara being given a large hat, Hell Biker and other skeletal Personas having a helmet/mask that obscures the skull, and several female Personas like Lamia being given shirts. However, these changes are purely cosmetic.
Miscellaneous
It’s worth noting that because the game has yet to be officially translated to English in any capacity (outside of a single file confirming its English title as "Persona 5: The Phantom X"), character names can only be absolutely confirmed when they’re either written in Japanese kana (as opposed to the Japanese kanji characters names are typically written in) or spoken aloud in official material, to confirm which reading of the Japanese name is the intended one for this specific character.
The characters do also have Chinese names, of course, but as the voice acting defaults to Japanese, and the game is set in Japan, the names that would most likely be used by an English release (if it ever happens) are their Japanese ones. As such, the Japanese names are the ones presented in the Characters section earlier in this post, and the main ones that this blog uses.
All the codenames, however, are written in English, and thus the most easily confirmed as official.
And just to close this out, keep in mind that the majority of our information about the game contents specifically comes from the beta versions, so things can and have changed between beta playtests, and similarly may change in the actual release of the game.

Just an odd thought, but have you ever wondered why and how a school that basically worships the Great 7 is an all boys school when three of the 7 were women? I’m sure its basically for the joseimuke experience, but still.
… Isn’t it 4 women, not 3?? There’s the Queen of Hearts, the Sea Witch, the Beautiful Queen, and the Thorn Fairy.
Buuut 😅 it’s most likely just the design of the game, not for any deep in-game lore reason.
We could have seen female student mages during Glorious Masquerade (since Noble Bell College’s symposium invited students from various magical institutions, not just NRC and RSA), but we didn’t get to see any other schools be expanded upon or even their mob students. I guess it’s just easier (and a “safer bet”) to stick with the tropes of a typical joseimuke. I will say that it does feel weirdly offputting to constantly be surrounded by men (even in locations outside of NRC; most females we encounter are portraitless NPCs or one-offs like Najma or Eliza); I’d probably feel very uncomfortable in that environment 💦
This reminds me of an idol-related event in another gacha game. Basically, it was a crossover between The Idolm@aster (an all female roster) and the gacha game (which included a cast of characters of various genders). However, there was extreme backlash from Idolm@ster fans who didn’t want the idol girls potentially interacting with the gacha game’s male characters 😅 so for the collab event, the devs purged the existence of all male characters INCLUDING generic NPCs. It felt very strange in that “all female” world of the event as well.
I don’t know, even if it’s for the sake of appealing to fans of a certain game genre… It will never not feel jarring to me whenever the vast majority of characters I see are all one gender (especially in more “shared” spaces like towns and interschool events), since that doesn’t accurately reflect their world or society at large.

Anime Year in Review
Last year I made a silly post ranking the three shows I happened to watch. This year, I got way more into anime (and manga), so let's do it properly this time
Revue Starlight* - Easy top star spot. This anime was flawless. I watched it twice this year and will be watching it again. The story, the animation, the music were all impeccable. The music, oh my god; I listen to the soundtrack every day. Some of my other favorites on this list I'd only recommend based on your personal tastes, but this show should be watched by everyone. (The sequel and spin-offs, not so much. They all use the revues in a way that completely undermines the premise of the main series)
Heavenly Delusion - So fucking good. Second on this list, but I think it's the best show that came out this year. Deeply traumatic, but in such a satisfying way. The horror elements were so brutal and so well done, and I love that the man-eating monsters were the least gruesome part of the show. If it wasn't for the stinker of the ice monster episode, I think this could've been my favorite anime
Call of the Night* - Adored this show. Yes it's a celebration of the hedonism of vampires, but it's so earnest and down-to-earth with it that it feels so good to watch that I did it twice (sub and dub). I also got into the manga, which is sadly wrapping up next month, but hopefully that prompts an announcement about season 2
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End - Super chill show, which is a great way to wind down the week. It's such a cool concept too, following the adventurer after the adventure is over. It's just a reflection on life and I love it
The Witch from Mercury (cour 2) - Given that I run a sideblog just for this show, it might be surprising that it's so low on my list, but the second cour was a lot weaker than the first. Not nearly enough of Suletta and Miorine interacting, and way too much chaff following Guel's B-plot. I've said it before, but I think the worst part of this Gundam show is that it's a Gundam show. A+ epilogue though, and Suletta is still my favorite character this year
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off - I enjoyed the original comic and the live action movie. I didn't realize this new adaption was really a sequel, but it ended up being a great way to bring the old story to the modern decade. (Two decades later isn't much, but it was very of-its-time)
Spy x Family (cour 2) - Very fun show. Following several viewpoint characters means the individual episodes might be hit-or-miss (as much as I love Anya, the episodes at the school are relatively bland), but the overall package was sweet and enjoyable
Nimona - Another comic I really enjoyed. The movie was strong, although it cut a lot of parts out that I thought were important to the original story
The Orbital Children - Directed by the same person who directed one of my long-time favorites (Dennou Coil), the first two acts of this really felt like a modern update. Stunning visuals, great sci-fi, thrilling adventure. Went totally off the deep in the third act, though
Joshiraku* - As the characters pointed out, adapting a manga that takes entirely inside the green room of a stand-up comedy club is an odd choice. It was off-the-charts hilarious, though. Considering some of the scripts were entirely pun-based, it must've been an immense amount of work to translate, but they absolutely pulled it off
Oshi no Ko - The only reason I watched this show was because the OP was such a banger. (Several fantastic anime songs by YOASOBI this year, and Idol is easily my favorite.) The first, feature-length episode was incredible and I literally cried at the end. If it was a stand-alone movie, it would be a couple of spots higher on this list. The rest of the show was fine, but not really what I was here for. I'll probably still watch season 2 though
Arknights: Prelude to Dawn* - I bounced off the gacha game immediately, but the worldbuilding and character designs seemed cool, so I wanted to give the anime adaptation a chance. The plot was very thin but serviceable enough. At least it looked nice to watch.
The Magical Revolution of ... - Not typing that whole thing out. It was a cute show. The yuri stuff was nice, but I wish for a show about a magical inventor, there was a non-zero amount of magical inventing shown on screen
* indicates the show aired prior to 2023
A lot of shows I really loved this year. Looking forward to next year, the anime I'm most hyped for is obviously Dungeon Meshi. It looks like it's going to be incredible. The second season of Arcane is also scheduled to come out late next year, which is also very exciting. Technically Frieren has a second cour in January, but they're airing both cours as basically a single 24-episode season, so that doesn't really count
For older shows I mean to catch up on, YouTube has recced me clips of probably every single joke from K-On!, and it's really grown on me. Definitely going to watch that soon. I'm also in the mood to watch Bocchi the Rock! again. I should also make myself watch the first couple episodes of PMMM. Nothing I've seen on Tumblr has grabbed me for that one, but it's right in the middle of some of the other shows I was gushing about here and it would be dumb not to try it

Hi just an idea for the yandere enstars self aware au:
Idk if anyones gotten this idea yet (too lazy to check,, srry abt that) but yk those times when you spend all ur dia and the card u want only comes home at the very last pull when you have 0 dia left? It happens to me sometimes, not just w enstars but other gacha idol games and i was thinking, what if they do that on purpose? They want u to spend all ur dia on them so that they get bragging rights abt how you wanted them so bad that u went broke for them. And this also means that for the next few banners you'll be too broke to pull for other cards/idols so it's 2 wins for the idol/card u pulled for. I sure hope this is comprehensible and srry abt the block of text but i thought abt this yesterday and it hasn't left my mind since
Tumblr media
Heyyy so you´re in luck because this hasn´t been asked before but please do make sure to check beforehand next time. I made the masterlist for a reason, so people could easily see and read what has been asked before. As the bare minimum please try to respect people´s time and check before sending in an ask or I might simply be too lazy to answer next time :/

The characters coming home on your last pull on purpose to make you waste your dias so you can´t spend them on other characters
Moving on, this is actually a pretty unique idea! We´ve talked about other characters sabotaging your pulling results to make sure you don´t get the character you wanted, but the character you´re pulling for trying to make you waste all of your dias? That´s something I haven´t thought of before.
It kind of makes sense in the way you explained it. You only get a limited amount of dias and so you need to be careful when deciding who or what to spend them on. So the fact that you want to pull for them in and of itself is already a big honor! And they absolutely do want to come home to you so you can put them on your home screen and they´ll be able to be with you! So most of them try to get to you as fast as possible but some are a bit more tactical in their approach.
Yes, obviously they want you to pull their card eventually, but if they come home too quickly then you will have enough dias left over to go for other characters, which they absolutely do not want. They´re the only one you need and they only need you, so please bear with them a bit, okay? They hate seeing you get sad when you only get blue lights the entire time, but it´s a necessary evil in their opinion. They´ll make sure to come home to you on the very last pull, when your hope is at its lowest, to make their appearance even more joyful. Just when you gave up hope and started begrudgingly accepting your fate, the lights turned rainbow and the card you so desperately wanted appeared on your screen.
They´re so glad to see your received smile, you´re so happy to see them! Ah, it was agony having to watch you suffer during the entire session but now it´s all worth it. You´re finally united and you have no more dias to pull for another character that might become competition in the end. Just focus on them!
Of course, there´s still a way for this plan to backfire. You might just watch all of your dias go down the drain and then decide to stop halfway through, thinking that this wasn´t worth all the trouble. Or even worse, you might start actively disliking them and that´s the last thing they want!
So there´s quite a bit of risk involved in this scheme. Also I don´t think most of them would try to pull something like this, they´re all way too desperate to get to you sfbslbf

As a mere character of a game, a single odd character among dozen of sparkling charming idols to choice from. You always seems to come back to him even how much others tried to swipe you away, to be their beloved Producer.
He thought he was forgotten by you when your immersing another idol with your time but you always turn to him in each corner and happily shower him with more love than you did to others.
"i--... I love you~ s-sorry I can't do anything about the system...imuseless--" he was a meek character who cannot go against the role of the world. Him becoming a sentient being among others is a miracle.
He wish he could help you while you play! But all he could do is able to finally talk to you in his own will, without the script that was binding others.
"It's okii~ there always next time~" you say not knowing his sentient self and thought it's a new April fools update. You tap his head across the screen, he felt something patting him in the head.
His tears quickly disappear as he felt wide grin of happiness as you shower with affection and love.
...
Time seems to pass by and gaining more freedom in the world than he did before, he felt more happy that you continue to stay dispute all odds and bad gacha times.
Through sometimes you disappear a few days for real life stuff, he would continue to wait but one day you were gone for so long, he cried as he hold his poor heart crying in loneliness that he might be abandoned by the sole person who stayed so long with him.
"MAYOI~" a familiar voice called out to him, he almost thought it's made out of his own thoughts as it sound like your speaking like your in his world.
"hey ~... Oh! Oh! Maybe you don't know me! Sowwy!" He look up tearfully and eyes widen as he saw you in front of his own eyes, not across the screen but in his own world!
"w-wa-- why are you crying? " You ask him in worry. "Here you goo~ mc will wipe your tears away~" you take out your handkerchief to softly wipe his tears away. Yet more tears comes out as he realize how real you are as you made contact with him.
"Uwahhh... MC will continue to wipe~" you pout as you saw him cry but smile as you try to lighten how mode.
"M-MC...?? Are you... ( Censored )...?" He finally found his words.
"Ooh~ wataru is right then~ ùwú that's right. I'm (censored)--or MC." you says as you hugs him, something you always wanted to do the moment you arrive in the world. With a help of a certain oddball.
"Your so warm ~ I love you~ mayoi~~" you confess as you happiness at its finest. His heart beat that seems to explode and his mind that seems to black out as he look down at you, who happily look at him with full adoration in your eyes. Gaze he only seen across the screen.
"M-MC... I b-been waiting for you.. *hic...*sob." He whimpers as he held his poor heart that finally found it's beloved. "Sowwy. Wataru said it takes long to come here." You were swipe away by the oddball one night to bring you to the world of ensemble stars. Through why he did such thing, he said he felt very amaze by your love for certain idol and would be a matchmaker for the two of you! HOW AMAZING!!' he says.
"i--... I love you so much..." He says as he slowly hugs you back, his tears keep falling down our of happiness. "Me too~"you happily rest in his hold.
Tumblr media
"Ah~ my MC finally here with me~" his hold around you tighten as he chuckle with madness. his poor heart full of love sick is long been darken with such love you drown him into, the long wait you made him wait drown him more to insanity.
"Ehh??" You look at him confusion through there still a soft smile and no fear in sight as his smile become of a twisted one.
"I love you so much! Youdontknowhowmuchiwanttolockyouaway~" he pat your head as he is taken over by his own twisted desire. He felt disgusted of himself but his too far to redeem himself.
"Ooh~" you look at him awe. "That's fine!" You chuckle as you accept his insanity. "That's why I'm here!" You added.
"I love you too even how much degenerate and twisted your ways of thoughts is! Free to lock me away ùwú." You added. You know all about the consequences of sentient beings as Wataru warn you before as you take his hand and accepted your fate. Where you can never return to your old home.
"r-really?" He was shock but happiness can't help but grow the twisted desire as you accept him from all those bad thought he want to do to you.
"Fufu... " He chuckle as he look at you, his poor innocent and fragile dearest. If he know any better, you just blind with love to see his flows!
Through he will not accept you taking your words back one day! He and you would stay forever~ even how much the world would one day keep you two apart~
Tumblr media
If they try to do so. He will find a way to delete them from this world. ' he thought as he hide you away from people who could sweep you away to the light from his darkness and abyss of twisted love.

the 2nd anniversary update for project sekai has put my standards high for 3rd anniversary so here’s some things i hope could be added for 3rd anniversary
1. ALT COVERS FOR VERY OLD SONGS!!!! this is my most wanted thing
i know that they already give alt covers to songs from like 5 months ago but what i mean is dappou rock tsukasa alt cover
other than a solo tsukasa dappou rock, i would also LOVE to see..
- bocca della verita mafuyu solo
- doctor = funk beat solo from either (or both) akito or toya
- maybe alt covers for newly edgy idols or ready steady
that’s all i have right now, but i hope if this would be real they would do more
2. ability to see where your friends are in event rankings
i always wonder what placement they’re in and i think it would be fun
it could either be in the friends tab or a separate section in the event rankings tab
3. added 3dmvs for songs that originally dont
this goes both for comms and covers cause for a lot of songs i dream about their 3dmvs
because while the 2dmvs mean you get the full song i Really don’t like pjsk 2dmvs.. even the recent ones like darling dance and phony still have all of the problems i have with their 2dmvs, but this isn’t about that 😅
there’s already full choreographs for songs that don’t have 3dmvs from the connect lives and those stage concerts, for example the infamous king 3dmv
so they could just use that choreography and just have to make the sets, effects, and camera work
i do think the recent 3dmvs for pjsk are really cool and wonderful so i would love to see 3dmvs for songs get added
(and i now just remembered awhile ago there was a leak for how some songs will get added 3dmvs.. and like it was real because someone was able to get the data for dramaturgy 3dmv and show the world and i saw it.. does this possibly mean my hope can be real?)
updating on 8/18 more stuff i would want
4. as someone said cross unit covers and comms would be SO cool and i think most rhythm gacha games do this so i would want pjsk to start doing this too
they can at least do these covers and songs in context of a story i just want more
5. SIBLING STORIES ARC AGAIN
before 1st anni they all had mixed events with each siblings (saki as focus w/ tsukasa [and toya], akito focus w/ ena and shizuku focus w/ shiho) SO for the duration from 3rd anni- 4th anni i would love for them to do like an “update” of those events and they just switch the focus to the other sibling
so they will have a mixed event with tsukasa as the focus and saki, ena focus with akito, and shiho focus with shizuku
updating 8/24 I HAVE MORE IDEAS
6. FULL VERSION OF THE ALT VOCALS
they can just post them on their youtube channel and i will be so happy
they definitely can do full versions of solo/duet alt vocals as they posted a hated by life 2dmv during the start of the game that uses kanade’s solo alt vocal AND ITS THE FULL VERSION!!
the only alt vocals that we have that are the full versions not including hated by life is just when the whole song is in the game already
SO i need full alt vocals
updating at 9/5
7. MORE STUFF TO DO ON THE MINI MAP
on bandori there USED to be a thing called lounge convos where it would just be the characters having a conversations like live that you watch and they actually move and react to the convo but anyways THATS WHAT I WANT PJSK TO HAVE
i would love for even just another shop be added
also i would love if they could do that idea of where you’d choose which sekai you’d want to go to through this playlist and you’d click on whatever song belonged to the sekai cause i think that was a really cool idea and would make the world feel more.. fun?
(context an image is in the game files from when the game was still in development of where it showed this playlist menu and you picked whatever song belonged to whatever sekai and it seemed that sekais were locked until you reached some point in the main story for each unit)
8. costumes for past 4 stars
this is probably the most unlikely as they would have to model so many outfits but.. wonder magical showtime nene needs a costume
that’s all i can think of for now.. i may edit this post to add more but talk about your ideas!!!

Maybe they'll overlap events with world link but you have to choose which event to give points to before a live. Because i think the problem with having two events at once isn't with players having to choose between the two (most people already have to do that when two events they like are in a row) but with the leaderboards overlapping.
Assuming the event bonuses are calculated separately, let's say someone has a team that's 360% (all event 4*s and 2 cards matching unit and attribute) for the wxs event, and worth 0% for the nightcord world link (not including all the stuff with support unit).
The n25 event will get about 20% of the points that the wxs event will, meaning that if T1 for wxs is at 200,000,000 (the current estimated T1 for curtain call on en, as i can't access jp history atm), that same person will have about 40,000,000 for n25, which could put them near T100. And that's with two popular groups together, it would only get worse if you combined l/n or mmj with one of the more popular 3.
So separating the leaderboards by only allowing points to go to one event at a time would prevent this problem. Now of course it's only a matter of time to see if colopal makes a logical choice for once or if world link events are hell.
Actually this reminded me of something anon. I went over it in that 3rd anniversary master post but WLEs do have their own unique event bonus system. It lets you have a team specifically for boosting event bonus (smth that is in most other idol games by default) which can have like 12 cards I think it was on it. None of these cards contribute to your actual score but they will boost the bonus significantly. Which would actually make it WAY easier to grind event points because you can get more from less. So what I’m thinking now is maybe WLEs will be in a separate lobby, like how ranked match has its own lobby and leaderboard.
But also maybe I’m overthinking it. Like obviously the more points for less songs score bonus system is designed because of the fact each chapter of the event only lasts 3 days, so maybe they’ll just shove the support team builder on the event page. But then again the whole more for less would also be useful if you were trying to rank another event at the same time. Not to mention this event having a story that works differently to a normal event story, a unique gacha, probably not having a specific banner character due to the story focusing on every member, and the fact it starts at the time October 3 would probably end on a normal schedule (8pm on Nov 8th)… I dunno maybe this is like its own thing. Clpl please just actually tell us what the fuck is going on.
Whatever happens there will probably be changes made to the event by the time we get to the VBS one.

title: ODDTAXI
type: anime
genre(s): drama, mystery, psychological
content warnings: death, violence, blood, abuse (mentioned domestic violence, shown child abuse), addiction (one character is addicted to a gacha game, another character's alcoholism is mentioned), kidnapping, stalking, drowning, asphyxiation, torture, hospitals, age gap
i think i got everything but id recommend reading the does the dog die if you're worried
description: the taxi driver odokawa lives a very mundane life. he has no family, doesn't really hang out with others, and he's an oddball who is narrow-minded and doesn't talk much. the only people he can call his friends are his doctor, gouriki and his classmate from high school, kakibana. all of his patrons seem to be slightly odd themselves. the college student who wants the world to notice him online, kabasawa. a nurse with secrets named shirakawa. a comedy duo that just can't catch a break named the homosapiens. a local hoodlum named dobu. an idol group that's just starting out named mystery kiss... all these mundane conversations somehow eventually lead to a girl who's gone missing.
source: crunchyroll
why you should watch/read/play it: oddtaxi is one of those animes i will be thinking about forever. it's only 13 episodes long but holy shit do they pack a lot in. it's ensemble is charming and each character has thought out motivations. odokawa himself is a really funny protagonist, shit just keeps happening to him and he has to cope. YANO god yano he is a porcupine ok. and he raps. like all his dialogue is rap its great hes insane. yamamoto another personal favorite i cant explain him well but like. you will see. you will get him. you WILL become a yamamoto fan its inevitable.

Influence on Anime and Manga
Mobile games have also had a significant impact on the anime and manga industry in Japan. Additionally, mobile games have introduced new storytelling techniques, such as branching storylines, that have been adopted by anime and manga creators.
Merchandising and Brand Collaborations
Mobile games have also become a lucrative source of merchandising and brand collaborations in Japan. Many popular mobile games have spawned a wide range of merchandise, including figurines, clothing, and accessories. Additionally, mobile games have collaborated with various brands to create limited edition merchandise, such as clothing and accessories.
One example of a successful collaboration is the "Fate/Grand Order" x Uniqlo collaboration, which resulted in a line of limited edition t-shirts. The collaboration was so successful that it was extended multiple times due to high demand.
Overall, mobile games have had a significant cultural impact in Japan, influencing pop culture, anime and manga, and merchandising. With the continued growth of the mobile gaming industry, it is likely that this impact will only continue to grow in the future.
Government and Regulation
Legal Framework
The Japanese government regulates the mobile gaming industry through various laws and regulations. The primary law governing the industry is the Consumer Contract Act, which regulates the terms and conditions of contracts between consumers and mobile game providers. The Act requires providers to disclose important information such as game content, payment methods, and refund policies to consumers before they make a purchase.
Additionally, the Act Against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations prohibits providers from using misleading representations or charging excessive fees to consumers. The Act also establishes penalties for providers who violate these regulations.
Consumer Protection in Mobile Gaming
The Japanese government has taken steps to protect consumers from unfair practices in the mobile gaming industry. The Consumer Affairs Agency (CAA) is responsible for enforcing consumer protection laws and regulations. The CAA has issued guidelines for mobile game providers to ensure that they provide accurate and transparent information to consumers.
The CAA has also established a system for handling consumer complaints related to mobile games. Consumers can file complaints with the CAA if they believe that a provider has violated consumer protection laws or regulations.
International Trade and Relations
Japan is a major player in the global mobile gaming industry, and the government has taken steps to promote international trade and relations. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has established policies to promote the export of Japanese mobile games to other countries.
The government has also worked to establish international standards for mobile gaming regulations. In 2018, Japan hosted the International Mobile Gaming Awards (IMGA) Asia, which brought together mobile game developers and industry experts from around the world to discuss the latest trends and developments in the industry.
Challenges and Controversies
Mobile games have become increasingly popular in Japan, but they have also brought about several challenges and controversies. This section will explore some of the most significant issues that have arisen in the industry.
Addiction and Social Concerns
One of the biggest concerns surrounding mobile games is their potential to cause addiction. Many games are designed to keep players engaged for long periods, and some have even been accused of using psychological tricks to keep players hooked. This has led to concerns that mobile games could be harmful to people's mental health, particularly young people.
In addition to addiction, mobile games have also raised concerns about their impact on social interactions. Some experts worry that excessive gaming could lead to social isolation and a decrease in face-to-face communication. Others argue that mobile games can actually facilitate socializing, as players can connect with others who share their interests.
Issues of Fairness and Ethics
Another issue that has arisen in the mobile gaming industry is fairness. Some games have been criticized for using "pay-to-win" mechanics, where players who spend money on in-game items have a significant advantage over those who don't. This has led to accusations that some games are exploiting players for profit.
There have also been concerns about the ethics of certain mobile games. For example, some games have been accused of promoting gambling-like behavior, particularly through the use of loot boxes. Others have been criticized for using exploitative labor practices, such as forcing developers to work long hours for low pay.
Privacy and Data Security
Finally, mobile games have raised concerns about privacy and data security. Many games require players to create accounts and share personal information, such as their name and email address. This has led to worries about how this data is being used and who has access to it.
In addition to personal information, mobile games also collect data on players' behavior and preferences. This data can be used to improve the game experience, but it also raises questions about how this information is being used and whether players are aware of it.
Overall, while mobile games have brought about many benefits, they have also raised several significant challenges and controversies. As the industry continues to grow and evolve, it will be important to address these issues to ensure that mobile gaming remains a safe and enjoyable experience for all users.
Future Outlook
Predicted Market Trends
The mobile gaming industry in Japan is expected to continue growing in the coming years. According to a report by App Annie, the Japanese mobile gaming market is projected to reach $14.4 billion in revenue by 2025. This growth can be attributed to the increasing popularity of mobile gaming among all age groups, as well as the rise of esports and mobile game tournaments.
Potential for New Technology Integration
As technology continues to advance, mobile games in Japan will likely integrate new technologies such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). With the increasing availability of 5G networks, mobile games will be able to offer more immersive experiences to players. This integration of new technology will also provide opportunities for game developers to create new and innovative gameplay mechanics. Recommendation for a good website to play mobile games can be found here: Gaming website.
Evolving Consumer Preferences
As the mobile gaming market in Japan continues to grow, consumer preferences are also evolving. Players are now looking for games that offer more than just simple gameplay mechanics. Games that offer social features, such as multiplayer modes and in-game chat, are becoming increasingly popular. Additionally, players are now more willing to spend money on in-game purchases and microtransactions, which is driving revenue growth for game developers.
Overall, the future of mobile gaming in Japan looks bright. With continued growth in the market, integration of new technologies, and evolving consumer preferences, there are many opportunities for game developers to create successful and innovative mobile games.

What We Know About P5X
(updated 8/25/23)
Persona 5: The Phantom X (P5X) has now had two beta tests, the first of which ran from March 29th to 31st, and the second of which ran from August 18th to 25th. Here’s a summary of what we know about the game itself so far. Hopefully this’ll be useful, whether you're new around here or not!
I'm also making updated posts for the game's story and playable characters so far, which'll be added to a new pinned post (along with this post!) once they're all done.
As Perfect World Games and Black Wings Game Studio are Chinese game companies, P5X is produced in Chinese, with no current official English translations. The dialogue in-game, however, is voiced in Japanese, with Japanese voice actors.
There are specifically two gachas in the game- a character gacha for gaining teammates, and a weapons gacha for gaining better weapons for those teammates.
Right now, we know the game will release on both mobile and PC, but it’s unconfirmed whether it will release anywhere outside of China, and we don’t yet have a release date for even the Chinese version of the full game. Both of the beta tests so far have been closed betas available only in China, where players could sign up for a chance to get in, and actual beta accounts were given out via lottery.
The Characters
So far, there are 12 new Persona users.
So far, they include Motoha's friend Tomoko Noge (codename Kotomo), first year student Kiyoshi Kurotani (codename Kii), Wonder's family friend Kayo Tomiyama (codename Okyann), college freshman from China Yaoling Li (codename Rin), an aspiring acting student whose real name may be Reo Kamiyama (codename Leo), a student from Kosei High named Yukimi Fujikawa (codename Yuki), rich high school student Seiji Shiratori (codename Seiji), and a former ice skater whose real name may be Kotone Montagne (codename Mont).
The original Phantom Thieves from Persona 5 also appear as Phantom Idols: Joker, Mona, Skull, Panther, Fox, Queen, Oracle, Noir, and Crow. Datamining also found some of Wolf’s battle voice lines from P5S at least in the first beta, and an icon from P5S with Sophie in both betas, suggesting they may later be added as well. No sign of Violet has been found yet, other than the Faith Arcana card in the files.
Munehisa Iwai, Tae Takemi, and Chihaya Mifune also return in P5X. Iwai runs the weapon gacha, Takemi sells medicine like in P5, and Chihaya tells fortunes. The other original P5 confidants’ portraits and 3D models have been found in both betas' data, and the Councillor Arcana card was with the other cards in the second beta's data specifically, but it’s currently unknown whether they’ll actually return in any capacity.
Music
At least six new songs have been heard in P5X, four of which feature vocals by Lyn: "Last Strike", "Wake Up Your Hero", "Shadow Loop", and "Fatal Desire". One of the instrumental tracks is named "Elite Battle", while the other is the background music for the second Palace.
(Note that while Yongen-Jaya exists, Leblanc has been replaced with a generic coffee shop, run by someone other than Sojiro Sakura. Similarly, the Big Bang Burger in Shibuya is now just called Big Burger, with no apparent traces of the space theming, and the Crossroads bar in Shinjuku has been rebranded.)
Mementos and the concept of Palaces also return in P5X, though there are some differences. At least in the betas, Mementos operates as a sort of hub, with characters entering Palaces through Mementos, from the entrance to each Palace located within the massive floors of Mementos. Mementos also has special battle locations apparently similar to “domains” in other gacha games, where completing the fight gives special items to strengthen characters and weapons, themed after the first three of P5′s Palaces.
They also haven't been associated with any Arcana, though the P5 Arcana cards have been found in the second beta's data.
One major change is that several shadow/Persona designs have been censored; this includes Incubus and many others being given shorts, Bugs' stomach being sewed up with the blood removed, Mara being given a large hat, Hell Biker having a helmet that obscures his skull, and several female Personas like Lamia being given shirts. However, these changes are purely cosmetic.
Miscellaneous
It’s worth noting that because the game has yet to be officially translated to English in any capacity, character names can only be absolutely confirmed when they’re either written in Japanese kana (as opposed to the Japanese kanji characters names are typically written in) or spoken aloud in official material, to confirm which reading of the names is the correct Japanese one.
The characters do also have Chinese names, of course, but as the voice acting uses the Japanese readings, and the game is set in Japan, the name that would most likely be used by an English release (if it ever happens) is their Japanese one. As such, the Japanese names are the ones presented in the Characters section earlier in this post, and the main ones that this blog uses.
All the codenames, however, are written in English, and thus the most easily confirmed as official.
And just to close this out, keep in mind that the majority of our information about the gameplay specifically comes from the beta versions, and thus things may change in a later beta playtest and/or in the actual release of the game.
