Ash!! I can’t believe it’s been five years since you first started writing Damien over here, but I knew I absolutely had to do make something for you to mark this amazing milestone.

I’m privileged to have been around since you first started writing Damien and I’m even more honoured to have my characters be part of his story. The way you write his character, incorporating so much consideration, creativity and thought into everything you do never ceases to blow me away. You are exceptionally talented and you honestly inspire me so much.

I adore the relationship that Damien has with Icelyn - the way he’s sort of a mentor-turned-uncle figure with her is just the sweetest and how their friendship is only strengthened when he becomes Dante just warms my heart. The same goes for his friendship with Oogie. The way that Damien and Dante integrated into the world of Halloween Town so seamlessly is just my favourite thing.

Congratulations on Five Years and here’s to many more!! <3 <3 <3

For @blackbirdmuses​ on her birthday!

Icelyn has always had the expectation of being a scarer and following the family profession on her shoulders since she was a child. Dante suggested that if they came up with a scaring routine together, maybe her family would let her focus on her own interests afterward as a sort of compromise.

I have had this in my head since SEPTEMBER, but it’s taken so long to figure out how best to storyboard it. If you haven’t heard the proper version of this song, I’d highly recommend it.

Icelyn had been absentmindedly scribbling in her journal, writing about the events of the day and making notes for herself on things she wanted to remember or follow up on at another time. Tapping the end of her pen against the paper in a rhythmic pattern as she searched for the next word, she began to sing softly to herself as she thought and doodled in the margins of her page.

Sensing a presence behind her, she looked up and smiled. "I was just...trying to get my thoughts down on paper," she said, slightly nervous that she'd been caught singing. She stood up and shoved her hands in the pockets of her ripped jeans. "You didn't hear anything, right?"

Then, without a word...a kiss was planted on her head. Icelyn's eyes widened, though a soft smile and a light blush slowly spread against her face. She knew it was extremely uncommon for Dante to show any forms of physical affection as it wasn't something that brought him much comfort; she was proud of him, in a way that she could only express by saying...

"Hey, Uncle Dante."
