“There are other candidates; I'm not sure he'll stand up to the experiment." You had too many doubts, the main one being the reason why the doctor wanted to send you to find Steve.

You closed your bag after taking out the paper where Steve's address was written down. You turned to see the street sign; it seemed that you were close. You didn't know the place; maybe you should ask. You approached a lady who was arranging fruit.
“Excuse me, do you know how to get to this address?"
The woman gave you directions; you only had to walk two more streets. You looked for the number of Steve's flat and knocked on the door.
Steve was startled when he heard the knock on his door. He hoped it wasn't some debt collector; sometimes they wanted to trick him by telling him he had to pay his mother's outstanding bills, but he had taken care of that several years before, and now he was living debt-free.
When he opened the door, he was speechless. He wasn't expecting anyone, but he didn't think he was going to meet you either.
“Are you Steve Rogers? “you asked, although you knew that if it was him, you simply wanted to confirm it.
“It's me."
“You are to attend the army post on Monday, as indicated on the paper," you informed him.
“Did they accept me?“ Steve asked.
“Of course, and if all goes well, we can go for ice cream together afterwards," you proposed.
"But I can't eat ice cream."
“If you join the army, you can," you assured him.
Maybe it wasn't so bad working with Dr. Erskine after all.

Does anyone remember a tumblr post someone made in the 2010s of a series of drawings about Sabitsuki's life set to the lyrics of Two by The Antlers (iirc it was the acoustic version, not the album version)?
(I think this tumblr post format was commonly called a "lyricstuck" in the Homestuck fandom, or sometimes a "song/lyric comic".) Iirc it had an audio play box on the top of the post so you could listen to the song as you scrolled through the drawings.
If anyone remembers what I'm talking about and can link the post to me, please help me out! I haven't seen it in years, I don't remember who made it, but I do remember it was very moving and I totally wanna see it again & reblog it! (And I'm also grateful it introduced me to The Antlers! Very moody and fitting for .flow.)

So I’ve started compiling a Google Drive to make an archive of all WHA official art (not the text of the work, of course) and today I received my set of the playing cards from one of the special editions! I’ve not even seen HQ copies of these without SAMPLE watermarks before but! I’ll be making copies of them & the rule book available after I scan them.
On that note - if anyone would be interested in translating some of the text (especially the “special rules”) let me know! The game itself is based on “Love Letter”, so most of the rule book is not high priority, but it throws in some rule-altering “special cards” that have the characters on them and alas... machine translation does not make their meaning very clear lmao. I can provide an explanation of how “Love Letter” works for context - it’s a nice simple game. From my understanding there’s also video showing how to play the game which I have in my bookmarks which is an extra resource available for translators if you can translate by ear!
I’d love to see all the text translated though so if you’ve not got much time or aren’t confident enough for rules translation, there’s plenty of flavour text which would be cool to have translated too!
With permission, I’d like to be able to put these in the Google Drive when finished (with credit to translators in accompanying documents and as a watermark)! There’s no deadline on these, this is a very long-term project.
On the Drive itself: I won’t link the drive directly on Tumblr because I don’t want the link to be something I can’t take down if I need to (please don’t post publicly on tumblr either! and check the rules/disclaimer document), but I’ll post a link to the tweet I share it in in the reblogs/replies! (Further rambling below the cut)
It’s a WIP as I’m tracking down the original sources and context of various images & I’m trying to find untranslated versions where applicable (as some are from translation teams who may not want their work in the drive) - but I’m hoping that’ll also make the Drive a robust archive regardless of whether the work needs to be taken down at any point (e.g. copyright removal requests). Since so much of the extra content is on Twitter, it’s actually very easy to locate the sources and provide dates! And I’ll probably throw in some extra links like Shirahama inking or the anime announcement trailer too :)
On that note sldjfg I might ask for some help to scrub through old tweets from Shirahama at some point, or just grunt work copy/pasting links from some of her twitter moments that compile individual artwork. So far I’ve focused on “sets” that I have the information of (like magazine covers, chapter cover art, volume covers, countdowns and holiday art) since it’s easier to nail down dates or sources for those, but for the rest... it’s gonna be a slog pfff. So if you know how to use the advanced twitter search to comb through time frames, I might have a job for you in future lmao.
But!! General statement for this archive - it is meant to be an archive, so the focus is on documenting source, context, etc. Which means logging the original tweets and whether they’re any explanatory text attached is far more important that reuploading artwork - if the artwork is requested to come down, it will! Whether that’s a request from the copyright holders, or translators. So DO keep in mind the rules regarding reuploading or sharing the link to the drive - I really wanna keep this stuff of Pintrest lol, but also keeping the link to the drive private or easy to delete (so, not a direct link on tumblr) is a must innit.

While I've been open about the fact that a lot of things started with the mashing of PJO and 5s*s/T*ylor, now that we are over 50 chapters deep into this story I like to think we are well past that point. If you read SOHAE and the only thing you get out of it is the 5s*s/Swiftifaction of PJO characters than I'm not sure you go the most out of it. (This includes asks that are just imagine if blackjack/annabeth did [thing ts/5s*s did])
While I appreciate T*ylor as an artist I care very little for her as a person so questions about her personal life outside of her songs and how they relate to SOHAE's plot do very little for me, and when something you don't care much about is in your face constantly it is hard to not be annoyed. A similar principle applies to 5s*s

i loath webtoon. i'll chew my left leg off before i put sohae on webtoon. i despise it's infinite growth model. i hate formatting for vertical scroll. i don't like it's metrics games or it's microtransactions. i want to fight webtoon in a wendys parking lot.

There’s no precise timeline for SOHAE but around/over 2 years from start to finish
please note: the characters in SOHAE are based on my interpretation of the book descriptions. the initial art for SOHAE was started prior to casting announcements and when Walker was casted the decision was made to ignore the tv cast regardless of who was chosen due to the young age of the actors and the fact that SOHAE skews mature in content. its my personal belief that there can be multiple equally canon versions of the same character especially as adaptions come out and i do not tolerate anyone who dismisses the casting or describes book versions as the “true” version, these comments will be removed immediately and the people will be blocked from all blogs.

Hello! I'm Shadow! I'm not entirely new to hockeyblr; I originally posted hockey on my main. However I decided to create this blog to separate my hockey talk from my non-hockey talk.

ABOUT ME:
I'm 17, queer, autistic (with ADHD in the mix) and I've been a Blues fan all my life. I also support the Washington Capitals, and I've been considering adopting the Kraken as a third team. Outside the NHL, I support the Kansas City Mavericks of the ECHL.
As for players, I like Vladimir Tarasenko, TJ Oshie, Sidney Crosby, Cale Makar, Artemi Panarin and to an extent Cole Caufield.
I also support generally more disliked players such as Tom Wilson. Brad Marchand has also grown on me a little. Additionally, I do want to share that I do support and *will* post about some incredibly controversial players, those players being Alex Ovechkin and Patrick Kane. The reason I'm sharing this is because there is one thing I want to make very clear:
While I support a player on the ice, I don't exactly support a player off the ice. In fact, there may be times I will openly criticize a player's actions, even if they are my favorite. So, if seeing any of the players mentioned above makes you VERY uncomfortable, filter out the players' names (see also: tagging system) or block me for your own comfort.
(Additionally, if you're curious on where I stand on Kane's 2015/16 cases, I won't get into that entirely, as it's a pretty messy subject and I don't think I could do it justice, however I'll direct you to read these posts from other users so you can try to guess how I feel).

Firstly, this blog is run by a minor, and this blog is strictly SFW unless stated otherwise (injuries, blood and excessive swearing will be tagged accordingly). Please don't reblog my posts to add NSFW stuff.

Who can interact?

However, as for who can interact, let's just say that I welcome all hockey fans, any team, any kind. Casual, diehard, hell even bandwagon fans can interact! I don't judge!
I would be happy to see other Blues and Caps fans interact, especially since I don't see many of them on hockeyblr. Fans of rival teams are also not only welcome, but fucking encouraged to interact! I don't bite at all unless you'd like /platonic.
I also want to meet some artists (SFW please!) and other creators. Hockeyblr could use some creativity here!
So, who's not welcome?
Well, besides the usual criteria (bigots, antivaxxers and pedo/incest fetishizers), I do not welcome gatekeepers, gossip blogs or confession blogs. I also don't want strictly NSFW pages to interact, and I also advise blocking me if you don't want minors interacting at all (Remember: DNIs go BOTH ways!).
Additionally, if you think cheering for a specific team makes you a shitty person, or likewise, you think your team isn't immune to criticism, get off my page. Part of changing hockey culture involves criticizing your own team and favorite players too.
Discourse blogs are also advised to not interact unless I already know you, since discourse makes me fucking uncomfortable a lot of the time.
Lastly, accounts with no pfp/bio/header or accounts with a pfp of a (usually) white woman and nothing else will be blocked since half the time I'll assume you're a bot. No exceptions. Having posts or a cool username is no longer an excuse. Additionally, blogs with the "mature content" tag will also be blocked since half the time I'll assume you're NSFW. Sorry yall.

Interactive Fiction to Look Out For On Itch.io
itch.io is a trove of interactive fiction games, visual novels, and kinetic novels of all types, and I’ve run into a good handful that I think are worth highlighting (and playing again myself!)
Many of these I haven’t finished yet due to the sheer amount of content or because I went for the ending I wanted straight away, but I’d love to finish them thoroughly and perhaps review some of them in the future.
A couple notes! First, it’s been a while since I’ve played some of these games, and some of them I haven’t seen all of the paths. I try to give warnings where needed, but my warnings might not be complete as I don’t know absolutely everything in each game. Please check the games’ pages and look after yourself!
Secondly, many of these are available free, and some are for sale at a low minimum price, but I encourage you to supporter the writers, artists, composers and developers in any way you can, whether that’s giving them a follow, donating, or just leaving a nice comment. Supporting indie creators is a huge part of what this blog is about so give back to those who create things you love! Now let’s get into the list!
Visual Novels:
Hikeback is a horror visual novel about hitchhiking, time loops, and murder. It gives a lot of incentive to keep playing and replaying, as the story advances almost every time you start again, with new choices and details being revealed as it all unravels. This game is incredibly engaging and beautifully written, and lives up to the promise of time loops and meta game mechanics. I recommend this for anyone who wants a good spooky, existential story. Be warned of loud noises, jumpscares, glitch effects, blood and violence, abuse, and themes of self harm, suicide, and depression. Nothing to Say is a Visual Novel dating sim where you go on a date with Zoe, a girl you really like. The only problem is you’re very, very nervous. In this smart little game, you’ll be limited in how many letters you can use to express yourself, and you’ll have to unlock further dialogue options by getting to know Zoe, being honest with her, and being cute together. You’ll only earn letters from dialogue options once, encouraging you to explore more dialogue each playthrough until you get all the options to fully tell Zoe how you feel. Text-Interactive:
The Three-Body Problem is a queer romance interactive fiction about celestial witches living in a dark, magical wood when they encounter a young stranger. It features a nonbinary character, a potential polyamorous relationship, and healthy dom/sub dynamics. I found this story sweet and charming, with likable characters and pretty, easy to follow story writing. Raik is a deeply Scottish fantasy melded with reality. You play as a young woman dealing with anxiety and stress trying to make it through her day, while a fantasy world unravels around her. This story has layers, and all of it is beautiful. The portrayal of anxiety is poignant and real, and the writing is gorgeous. I don’t want to say anything else to spoil it, but this game is fantastic. I recommend for anyone who likes to daydream. Please be warned of themes of anxiety, stress, and panic attacks as well as some fantasy violence. You can buy Raik here on itch.io for 3 GDP (or more! Please support the author!)
Space Frog! (I saw a lunar eclipse) is a story of a frog in space. He’s a frog and he’s in space! This is a cute, short interactive fiction with low stakes, no worries, just cute adventures of a frog in space. You can direct frog as he travels and learn more about him. It has adorable illustrations and clickable text that reveals extra flavor information. I recommend to anybody looking for a smile. Floor is a text-interactive game about lying on the floor. You can lie on the floor, and you can get off the floor. What you do next is up to you! This is a short game with no real stakes, just real life boredom and activities. It may evoke feelings of loneliness or disappointment, but you can also just have some hummus. It’s a pixel art game that you navigate around, interacting with parts of the environment to read through the poem, which is about the ocean, and wishes, and expectations. And compassion. It has absolutely stunning visuals and music, and the poem makes me cry each time. Be warned of some really heavy feelings, but it will do its best to comfort you. The poem takes about five minutes to read and is here on itch.io waiting for you.

Hi! I made this post to avoid work. But mostly I made this post because Lumberjanes is something really important to me, and these playlist are a part of my enjoyment of Lumberjanes I don’t see people talking about a lot! So I decided to make a post in order to share them with y’all. I remember hunching over my phone making a spotify playlist (here, though it’s missing a few songs that aren’t on spotify) while on a trip to California in the summer of 2018 when I first got into Lumberjanes. I probably listened to these songs while I made my first ever Lumberjanes fanart. These mixes helped me to discover artist I really love, like Janelle Monae and Mal Blum. I hope you enjoy them as well!
Other notes: Sk8r Boi is crossed out as that is the way it appears on Mal’s playlist. Also, I tend to shy away from music videos as a personal preference, so that’s why there are so few included on this playlist, though I’m sure many of these songs have beautiful music videos. The city lights flickered as Steve and the team prepared for their most important mission to date. The tension in the operations room was palpable as the heroes reviewed plans and prepared for action.
That night, the team infiltrated a suspicious warehouse in the heart of the city. Steve was leading the operation, followed closely by you, the new agent who had joined less than a month ago. The mission was simple: infiltrate, disable the weapon, and capture the enemies. But things rarely went according to plan.
As you and Steve were walking into the warehouse, you and Steve found yourselves in the middle of a firefight. Gunshots echoed through the air, and lights flickered as you moved quickly for cover. Amid the confusion, a misunderstanding arose when you saw an armed individual who appeared to be aiming at Steve. Without hesitation, you made a quick decision and fired, neutralizing the attacker before he could reach Steve.
They then managed to get to the machine room and began to search for any information that would be useful to them, although you had understood otherwise, so you erased all the information from one of the USB sticks. As soon as Steve realized this, he became enraged, and they began to argue.
While they were arguing, the enemies took advantage of the confusion to activate the weapon, triggering a series of explosions that shook the warehouse.
The team rushed to evacuate the building. Steve approached you.
“Why did you do it?" Steve asked, extremely annoyed.
You looked at the floor and then tried to explain what had happened, but the words caught in your throat.
“I'm sorry. It was a mistake; I had understood that we had to get rid of all the information and evidence; that's what you explained, so I assumed."
Steve sighed. He always said it was a bad idea to accept more agents and personnel into the team, and maybe he had been right; they had just had a catastrophic result.
“Forget it. We can't afford mistakes like this," Steve said, his voice firm but with a hint of hatred in it.
Steve decided to conduct a thorough review of the mission to analyze what had happened and what they would do next, although it seemed like everything was going against him.
Maybe you should go back to your old organization; maybe you were wrong to have joined, although you still had another option, somehow, without anyone noticing, to take revenge for the humiliation they were putting you through.

Aelin:
Aelin reclined deeper into the massage chair currently working the knots in her upper back, as the water continued to fill at her feet. Mimosa in hand she sighed and closed her eyes, she was at peace for a brief moment before Lysandra shrieked.
“OH. MY. GODS. A, why didn’t you tell me?!” She practically screamed, much to the chagrin of every patron in the upscale salon.
“Tell you what…?” Aelin replied, rolling her head dramatically to the right to look at her friend.
“You’re trending on twitter again” she shoved her phone in Aelin’s face, “and you’ll never believe why!”
Aelin looked at the Twitter homepage and there at the top, with 1 million retweets and counting was #AelinCallHimMaybe. “What the hell? Hang on,” she put down her drink and pulled out her own phone. Flipping apps she went to Twitter to find the hashtag. There was a video linked, by someone with the handle “@moonmoon69”right at the top.
“WAIT! I wanna see this” Lysandra said at the same time Elide, on her left leaned in and said “Click it!” All three girls, heads together and mimosas abandoned, crammed in to look at Aelin’s phone.
She clicked play and immediately one of the most beautiful men she had ever seen appeared on the screen. His sepia toned skin was glowing in the sun, and he had long blonde hair pulled into a bun atop his head. He was wearing a Terrasen Army uniform, though the jacket was completely forgotten, and the t-shirt he wore instead clung to every dip and curve of muscle. He was standing in what was clearly a military post somewhere in the desert and smiling with perfect charm. “Aelin Ashryver Galathynius, you are my Queen. I, Sergeant First Class Fenrys Moonbeam, would like to humbly ask you to accompany me to the Army Ball this year. Please, call me maybe?”
Aelin’s jaw hit the floor as the scene before her cut to boots walking on the ground, and the music began. Suddenly Fenrys was back on the screen lip-syncing the lyrics to possibly the cheesiest pop song ever written, and all three women began laughing. Aelin couldn’t help it when her heart skipped a beat as Fenrys turned to the camera and winked at the end of his verse. The scene changed again and this time Fenrys, and four other men, all equally muscular and attractive, were laying on chaise lounges in nothing but short-shorts and combat boots.
“You have to say yes, look at them!” Lysandra squealed, while Elide nodded vigorously on her other side.
The men continued to lip sync from different places on the base, always shirtless and shining with sweat. Aelin at this point had began to laugh hysterically, and all three girls crooned over the men dancing on screen. They had absolutely no talent, but seemed not to care how ridiculous they looked as they popped up from the dirt and lit off colored smoke in the background. Each of the six men had a turn to solo into the camera. Aelin’s breath caught again when, towards the end, the silver haired man with tattoos seductively danced around in what looked to be a makeshift kiddy-pool.
The last frame was all of them looking over the camera from above and smirking, before they walked away. The twitter handle @moonmoon69 popped up once more with the hashtag #AelinCallHimMaybe below it. All three girls were still giggling as she closed the link out, and looked up from her phone.
“Sweet gods,” she breathed, trying to calm herself down a bit. “Did you know the Army made men that look like that?”
“Did you see the one with long dark hair and black eyes? He looks like an angry sex God, and I think I need him in my life,” Elide replied.
“You’re saying ‘yes’ right? Do it for me, us.. Do it for Terrasen. It’s your civic duty,” Lysandra pleaded.
“For Terrasen?” Aelin replied with a conspiratorial grin, “Fuck it, i’m in. But you two are helping me figure out how to respond to this and, you’re coming with me. But first-” she chugged her previously forgotten mimosa, “Pedicures.”

“How do I even go about doing this?” Aelin asked over brunch a few hours later. The three women hadn’t stopped swooning over the men in the video, and if Aelin was being honest they had watched it three more times before ever arriving at their table.
“Well you obviously need to DM him” Elide replied, ever the voice of reason.
“Buuuuuut,” Lys dragged out the word with a smirk, “I think you should make a video of your own. It’s good press and he’s clearly in need of some feminine attention. You’ll blow his mind, and then hopefully other things,” she finished with an outrageous wink.
“LYS!” both Aelin and Elide screeched before the three erupted into a fit of laughter.
When they finally recovered, Aelin agreed that the first step should be making a video of her own. The publicity would do wonders for her, and she could reach out and worry about the logistics later. After a long debate they decided that the best way to respond would be something flirty but not embarrassing. “Let’s give the men overseas something to daydream about,” Aelin finished with a smirk.

Rowan:
Half awake and entirely pissed, Rowan was sitting at the table eating breakfast with most of his Cadre when Fenrys burst in yelling “I TOLD YOUUUUU!”
“Its 0400. Why the fuck are you yelling?” He practically growled over his coffee.
“Because,” Fenrys smiled as he sat down, “She responded, you’ll never believe this… Hang on.” Fen pulled his laptop out and set it so that they could all see, then directed their attention to a video he had already pulled up. There she was, smiling at the camera with practiced ease, flanked by not one but two equally beautiful and famous women: Lysandra Ennar and Elide Lochan. Rowan’s eyebrows kissed his hairline.
“There is no way-” He began, but was quickly shushed by Gavriel, Connall, Vaughn, and surprisingly even Lorcan. Fenrys pressed play.
The three women were dressed in what could only be described as the “slutty Halloween” version of the uniform Rowan currently had on. Paired with black heeled combat boots and red lipstick, her long tan legs were on full display. Rowan hated to admit it, even to himself, but she was the literal embodiment of his “questionable” teenage dreams.
“Hello gorgeous,” Aelin practically purred. “First and foremost I’d like to thank you and your delicious Cadre for that lovely video.” Rowan choked on his coffee at the name she used for them, the name they used for themselves.
“I’d be honored to be your date to this year’s Ball, but I have a few small requests. My friends here,” she motioned to the women beside her, “would like to accompany us so that we can have a chance to properly thank you for your dedication to Terrasen. We’d like to take you Fenrys, and the men in your video on a night out in Orynth after the ball… If you’re interested.” She grinned at the camera, and the look made Rowan’s heart beat a little too fast.
“If you’ll have us,” Lysandra spoke now, “We’d like to show you around in style. A limo for the event, the penthouse suite at The Palace hotel, and a private after party for your friends and a few more of ours.”
“In the meantime,” Elide continued, “Enjoy the care packages we’ll be sending to each of you just as soon as we get your information. If you have any special requests, don’t hesitate to ask!”
“A little something to help the days go by faster on your long, and hard deployment,” Aelin winked. “We can’t wait to meet you.”
The last shot was all three women blowing a kiss to the camera. Rowan couldn’t believe it. The Princess of Orynth had responded to Fen. It took them nearly an entire day off to make that stupid video, more than one bottle of whiskey, and it had worked.
“Holy shit,” he breathed, the 6 men were still staring with their jaws on the floor at the frozen image of the women on screen, lips still puckered.
“I KNOW!” Fenrys laughed, “I told you it would work, and when we get home we’ll have the most insane night of our lives. You can thank me anytime.”
“Thank you,” the entire cadre chimed in unison while still staring at the screen. The next 2 months were going to drag along knowing what was waiting for them when they returned home.
Rowan cleared his throat, “But, you’re still on laundry duty boyo.”

ao3 changes
and how they change things for you!
if you take a look at the post i just reblogged, it has some details on how ao3 is changing things to deal with the increase in traffic they’re seeing. they’ve had to make these changes because so many of us are home now and relying on fanfiction to get us through hard times.
short version of that post if you don’t wanna read it:
logged out users are no longer counted toward hits
logged out users will see the Adult Content warning for every M and E rated fic they click.
logged out users will no longer have their guest name and email automatically added to the comment box
new chapters of fics are only accessible to logged out users via direct link until the cache updates - about once every 60 mins
i want to help! i know how important it is to have distractions in a time like this. i know how important fanfiction is for so many of us. i have about twenty ao3 invitations that i would love to pass out to anyone who needs one.

Digimon Pride Crest Requests?
So I refuse to let Pride die just because it’s July. And these are easy and fun to do.
Send me a Digimon Crest + a Pride flag and I will make an edit of it, as such:
I will do any crest and any orientation/gender (Ace? Demi? Pan? Queer? You’re good. We’re inclusive here.), as well as kink flags (puppy, leather, CG/l, feedism, etc.+). I can’t promise how good they’ll turn out for ones with more intricate/non-symmetrical designs like Poly or Puppy flags. But I’ll do my best.
Digimon crests can include Demon Lord Seals:

and, of course, the traditional Crests of Virtue:
I’ll also try to do any other Digimon symbols you can think of to throw at me, such as the Holy Trinity’s egg markings and other similar things. Though if you want to ask for something not on the list, it would be REALLY helpful for you to include a link to a reference image or send one in a direct message.
Send an ask with your request and I’ll do it when I can <3 . If I already have a transparent PNG of the requested crest, it only takes a few seconds to make. If I don’t, it will take longer, just a warning.
As a default, I will use the black/brown inclusive rainbow unless otherwise requested. If you request a Lesbian flag, I’d also like for you to tell me which version of it you’d like used, otherwise I will use whatever alternative to the Lipstick Lesbian flag seems most popular. Generally, if a flag has multiple versions, please let me know which one you want used or I’ll use the most common one.
You can use it for whatever you’d like! You don’t have to credit me, but I’d appreciate if you shared this to anyone who would possibly like one.
Kink flags will only be done for requesters 18+. It’s understood that you will not request one unless you are 18+.
